Triple packs are the way to go when building your Skylanders collection. Since Swap Force was released, it is getting increasingly difficult to find the original Series 1 or Series 2 Skylanders. Keep in mind, all figures are forward-compatible but not backward compatible. I started my 5 year old on Spyro's Adventure over the summer. He is playing the Giants game now and will probably be ready for Swap Force by December. This gives the figures a longer playing life.

The great thing about these figures is they are pretty durable. My 2 and 5 year old play with them offline more often than not, and not one has broken (yet).

This triple pack contains a Fire, Life and Earth Skylander.

these are the same skylanders that you buy in the store the kids love them and buy as may as they can when they can. It is a neat concept . you put them on this pad and they appear in the game. the kids enjoy just playing with them at the table also.

Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360 Review

Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge is pretty much the best rugby game ever made till this day it's simply that damn good. Featuring a nice amount of international teams, Rugby Challenge doesn't go light on the content front as the modes are engaging and the game is just filled with detail and sheer enjoyment due to how the smooth it plays.

Controls are responsive and don't take too long to master.

The graphics and animations do an excellent job of conveying a sense of realism to the game.

Having licensed teams such as the New Zealand All Blacks is a terrific addition.

Presentation is top notch and getting replays on key moments is greatly appreciated.

Its Just great that Mad Catz decided to bring this game to the United State, It an Must buy for any rugby fan Out there.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program "Subdue and penetrate"--Motto of the New Zealand All-Blacks Rugby Team.

I was only passingly familiar with Rugby when I got my hands on Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge, but I had played a lot of sports games so I thought I would give it a try. I was happily surprised by the addictive gameplay, intuitive controls, and just plain fun that Rugby Challenge offers. If you don't know much about Rugby, imagine the violent unholy lovechild of a marriage between football and soccer. It's football without the armor. It's soccer with full-speed tackling. It's pretty awesome.

If you are familiar with xbox sports games, you will probably be able to skip the tutorials and dive right in. However, if you are not familiar with Rugby there is a lot to be gleaned from the tutorial levels. The tutorials are broken into basic, intermediate, advanced, and professional tiers, each with about 6-8 skills. These skills range from moving the ball down the field to rather complicated manuevers like rucks, scrums, and onside tossing. Unfamiliar with the basics of Rugby? The tutorials are also very useful for giving you a decent vocabulary and solid grasp for the mechanics of the game.

There are several game modes: single game, career, and multiplayer.

The single game allows you to select 2 teams and play as one of them against an AI opponent. Many rugby teams from around the world are assigned a score (100 point scale). I can't speak to the completeness of the offering, but I did find a lot of teams to choose between. I found this mode particularly useful to transition between tutorial and career because I could select a fairly robust team for myself (Crimson) and lesser team for the AI (Praetoria) and have a little wiggle room to try out what I learned in the tutorial. This wiggle room is not present in career on "normal"--it is a very challenging game.

The career mode starts you out as nobody and lets you rise to the ranks of superstar, if you're good. You'll need quick reflexes to beat a fairly smart AI. Theere are a few times when you want to shout at your AI teamates to get into a better position, or catch the ball, but for the most part friendly AI works well. There are no scripted "plays" or selcted offensive/defensive moves to assign to your team. Rugby involves a lot of tackling and short kicks to move the ball down field. As you earn money through your successes, you can unlock photos and features through an in-game shop.

Multiplayer works well. Finding a match was not a problem. Rugby Challenge should be well received in Europe (where Rugby is more popular), so I would think there will be a robust long-term community that builds up around this game.

I am not one to play a game with clunky or confusing controls (there are way too many great games out there): Rugby Challenge offers intuitive controls that let a newbie have fun immediately and at the same times gives players a deep experience that will challenge veterans for many hours of play.

The graphics are solid. I would say they are maybe not quite as glamorous as the latest Madden, but they are great looking locations, detailed stadiums, detailed players, neat presentation works well.

SUMMARY:

Whether you are new to Rugby or grew up playing it, Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge offers something to all fans of sports games. I rate this game 5-stars for "Fun" (very addicting, well paced game play). Overall I gave the game 4 stars because Rugby Challenge does lack some of the precise polish of major sports games. Additionally the lack of plays to call can also make coordinating your team a bit frustrating.

Best Deals for Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360

I have only had this game for a little over 24 hours but I can say without a doubt that the developers have hit a homerun. It is so frustrating being a rugby fan in the United States because the availability for titles like this one are so limited. I finally got my hands on this game and it did not disappoint. The gameplay is fantastic, I love the trailing camera where it feels like you are in the line. I really think it is a huge imporvement over the old fashioned sideline camera. All the great teams are in it; the only teams and country that are not licensed is South Africa and their Super Rugby teams. As a southern hemisphere fan this should be the only title you pick up because on the other rugby game you can not play as the real All Black or Wallabies. The only problem I have with the game and why I gave it 4 stars is the passing can be glitchy at times. It seems like sometimes I need to push the pass button more than required.

UPDATE: I found many more flaws with this game. The game play is simply not very realistic in regards to real rugby. I also find the career mode to be terribly boring after one season; you are given no opportunities to act like a true coach and add players, make plays etc.

Honest reviews on Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360

If this tackling was used in an american football video game it would not sell. The fact that it is an up to date rugby game is the best part of it. The game play is pretty bad, unrealistic passes, and the tackling is horrible. I was stocked when the game came in but after playing it, buying it for $60 is WAY to much. It is 2012, make a better game play rugby game. I'm ready to sell mine.

I recently purchased a pair of these after much debate wether or not they would be worth the cost. I purchased them with the SuperNova DDR Game.

First thing I noticed is that the pads' foam is much smaller than most of the wired pads out today not by much but when you start to move you notice the response isn't as good as wired. But I blame this on that the pads need to be broken in abit.

Its is very compatible with the Komani DDR Games BUT if you have Dance Factory from CodeMasters as your game I STRONGLY recommend you do not buy these pads. Why?

When you go through the screen sections the pads act normal, but when you go to actually dance, you get the flip side of this. None of the arrow keys register. Not one.. Only, the outside corner pads register. Now this would not be so fustrating until you realise that even if you try to change the pads layout on the controller via the game it still registers those buttons by its only configuration. Lucky I stil have my wired pads but its a shame I have to keep them around just for this one problem.

So due to that I had to give these a "3" star. If you are not using the Dance Factory game I would give it a 4, but that would be even a high 3 but a low four.

Hopefully codemasters or ddrgame will take a look at this issue for their next gen of thier products and figure out where they went wrong.

Still with the freedom you have for the pads been wireless and the cost it can be worth the buy. Just be cautious of its limitation.

This fast paced thrill ride is an adventure for young and old alike. It is the most popular Nintento 64 video game in our home. The tournament style races allows a player to race and upgrade oveer twenty different vehicles to race on several race courses on 8 different worlds. The two player mode allows our family to race each other, increasing the bragging rights from intergalactic racing to our own home as to who is the best racer. To instructions are outlined clearly, and the joystick/button controls are logical. This simulation creates a fell like you are flying 3 feet off the ground against other opponents, but also makes the time fly by while you are piloting your pod to victory. Responsiveness of the video simulation is excellent, which makes this game a winner in our home. Try it and you will experience the trill of being an intergalactic pod racer for yourself.

This game is way better than Croc 2! It has comfortable camera

angles and really cool sounds and graphics! I'm hardly through

the first level but I really like it! Every level has alot of

variety and different bad guys in it. Controls are easy to learn

and easy to use, but the Playstation game pad isn't very comfortable for this game so you should get another one for better controls. In this game Croc can do alot of cool different

things like swimming under water jumping on enemies and riding

hot air ballons just to name a few. This game has lots of cool

things in it. The graphics are totally jawdropping compared to

the graphics in Croc 2. Croc makes his debut on Game Boy Color,

Plastation, and not on Computer. My only complaint about this

super-cool game is that Croc can only kill enemies with his body

by jumping on them. And can't tail-whip them like he can in Croc

2. Even if that move is disabled from Croc, this game is an

excellent classic. If you're at a store and you're trying to

decide which game to by, if you have a Playstation by this cool

game, if you don't by this game for Game Boy Color, and if you

don't have one you're really unlucky, and you shoudn't buy it for

Computer even though you have one...

I think this game is more than most of the review make it out to be. This game is SUPPOSED to be challenging, and it is not as frustrating as most think. It's actually really adorable, and has a good setting with cute characters. The camera mode you do have to fiddle with though. But you do get used to it. I was definately hooked on this game, cute, challenging, and fun. 5 stars all the way!

Best Deals for Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

Though the game is very appealing in regards to its visual style, the controls are abyssmal. In level 1-3 at the end of the level, you are required to perform a "whack-a-mole" type game in order to get the last gobbo. Since the controls (or uncontrols) are glitchy at best and unplayable at worst, the game begins to not be a game and more of a nuisance. The analog versus digital controls have no bearing to eachother and you find yourself toggling back and forth just so you can have some margin of control. A game to avoid by any standard.

Honest reviews on Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

I missed the old 90's platformers so I got this used for $5.00. No complaints as far as the game's entertainment value or condition. However I have gotten rather spoiled from today's platformers like the LBP series. Man I started playing and got instantly pissed off at having to turn Croc in the direction he was going before moving him forward. As mentioned in previous comments the most annoying part is having to dodge enemies or having to time your jumps almost perfectly in a few of the mini games with these old digital controls. You better practice shifting from left to right in mid-air if you want to find all those gobbos.

To be a bit more specific about the controls you can move the camera using the R2 and L2 buttons. You can't see all around you but it helps a lot sometimes when you need a better view of what's ahead. If you want to make a perfect 180 degree turn just hit the circle button. Use L1 and R1 for small side steps left and right.

(SPOILER BELOW)

Lol I guess you can say I cheated a bit. One reviewer mentioned the wac-a-sheep challenge being annoying. Well annoying it may be but it's nothing compared to the cauldron challenge in the "Dungeon of Defright" level. Ugh just thinking of that level makes me want to throw that black pot in a pit of lava. Basically it's a lot like the sheep challenge only jewels are falling from the sky and you need to catch them in the cauldron. You have to catch a total of 38 items including 2 hearts and a gobbo. If you miss even one you have to move on to the next part of the dungeon without rescuing the gobbo. I had succeeded in this once and only ONCE, only for me to fail the wac-a-reaper challenge (which I could pass easily) and still be stuck with only 5 mf gobbos. Can you say Irony? Well I don't have the kind of time I did as a kid. Fortunately I accidently found a way around this.

The first challenge in the level is one where you have three boxes and you have to guess which box the gobbo is under after they get switched around. Here's what you do: be sure to have stocked up on lives before starting the level. Guess the correct box, grab the gobbo, and let the dantini kill you. When you reaper the lil fuzzball will be right in front of you, box free. Grab it again and keep letting the dantini kill you until you're sure you'll have at least six by the end of the level. Complete the level and viola, you can save as many gobbos as you want and you'll be allowed to get the jigsaw piece from the first secret level of Dante's castle.

Overall I enjoyed the game a lot. I never finished it as a kid so 12 years later here I am. It felt good to finally rescue all the lonely gobbos and finally give poor cute lil Croc a breather. Getting to 100 percent wasn't terribly difficult, and the bosses were RIDICULOUSLY easy. I guess that was they're way of making up for the annoying controls. Don't worry though. If we could do this when we were kids we can do it 2 diplomas and several much more difficult games later.

Lots to collect

5 stars on this

#1. This is a platform game so theres much to collect such as white crystals they are like your health bar get hit once lose them all but you get about 5-7 seconds to pick them up again after that poof their gone gobbos their hidden all over every level theres 6 in total 5 in the main area and 1 in the secret challange area to get to this you have to collect 5 color crystals to unlock a special door theres also keys in some levels small silver keys are usually to unlock a small cage contaning a button to open a door or a gobbo jumping around speaking its snout off but in some cases theres no switch for this look for a large gold key that will usually open a door with a gold keylock on it the key will dissapear after use.

#2

4 stars on this

the controlls are quite comfortable exept this difficulty that haunts me through the whole game is the camera angels it dosent let you adjust it appently it ajusts itself in a in a pretty dumb way which makes it hard to jump from platform to platform making it frustrating to repeat over and over but that can be overlooked with the awesome gameplay

#3 5 stars on this I love the bosses from some that chase and tackle you to some that shoot fire and ice bolts at you some that jump at you from the water not to mention the obstacles like when jumping little fire balls with faces running around a platform or flame or ice blotches jumping up from the ice river or lava river so be carefull when jumping

#4 characters are really cute not much violence in this game but dont be fooled its a pretty tough game itl take a while to beat 100% so this isnt only for kids

#5 this game is just so well put together i love the music its so calming and relaxing the story is deep without having many cutsceens and the graphics are pretty nice has a few difficulty not as seamless as they say but it still has pretty clear graphics

#6 its just plain awesome oh wait your waiting for cons right THERE ARE NONE! just the whole camera angle thing but its not much value on the scale of awesomeness so go out get this it will last very long months of entertainment if you want 100% oh and not to spoil anything but theres special jigsaw puzzle peices that unlock a secret!........ well i cant say read the manual and see where it takes you enjoy this great classic!

After reading some great reviews of this game, I had high hopes of being able to use it with my boys in 2nd and 3rd grade to help reinforce their math skills. Neither of them seemed enthusiastic about it, so I sat down myself to give it a try.

I went to the 3rd grade multiplication section, and immediately had issues with it. It shows you a grouping of objects (such as five groups of four playing cards), and has a space to enter both the addition answer (4+4+4+4+4=20) as well as the multiplication which was where I first found problems. I entered "4x5=20." The vampire shook his head no. What? Has it really been that long since I did multiplication? I tried it again "4x5=20." Still no. So I switched it up "5x4=20." Oh, NOW the vampire said I had it right. Why on earth would I not want to reinforce the idea that 4x5 is going to be the same as 5x4?

Next I went to the time section, and again got the vampire shaking his head over what was a correct answer I just somehow didn't enter it in the order he wanted it! I'm sorry, but if it's confusing and frustrating to me, I'm not going to inflict it on my kids! I'd return it if I could.

I bought this game after successfully convincing my daughter to play "Personal Trainer: Math". Compared to the later, "Learn Math" is very colorful and school-friendly. Unfortunately the game has somewhat poor code execution. The result: an unresponsive game which gives little feed back. Most buttons have to be clicked in a very small area and the place to click seems randomly distributed. It would have been nicer if the pieces were to be dragged in place than clicked. If you answer a question wrong the mascot only shakes his head but does not offer a feedback. Toggling around the fill-in spaces is horrible and surprisingly it does not take any inputs from cursor buttons of console. Nevertheless, the game must be praised for fairly high standard of problems. However I have modified my previous review because the game has managed to keep my child motivated and she has not been put off by the quirks of the game. She enjoys playing it though our favorite remains "Personal Trainer: Math". I wished the developers could fix the technical aspects of this game.

Best Deals for Learn Math - Nintendo DS

I bought this game for my 6yr old son. Given the choices of problems available, I'd say the game is a great fit. However, the lack of feedback from the game doesn't allow a kid to learn from its mistakes. For example, the game asks the child to calculate the results of 10 additions (one number remains the same and has to be added to 10 different numbers 3+1 =4, 3+5= 8,...). So, when the kid does all the calculations correct, the game acknowledges that. However, if one or multiple answers were incorrect, the game just says that this was wrong. It doesn't tell which calculations were incorrect or what the correct answers would have been. Similarly, the game only acknowledges a correct answer if it has been entered in a certain way. As another reviewer pointed out here, you have to enter a multiplication in the right order without the game telling you what the right order is. So, the game accepts 5x4=20 as correct, but claims that 4x5=20 is incorrect. The same issue appears in puzzle games. If you have to create a shape out of smaller shapes, the game seems to expect that you come up with one very specific solution even though there are several possible solutions to the problem.

Needless to say, the game was "played" a few times and never touched again.

Honest reviews on Learn Math - Nintendo DS

I hated math when I was a kid and I was not so good at it, either. Now, I use math in my job every day. Some of my co-workers are better at doing numbers in their heads than I am, which is why I bought this game. If you do some math drills, you will get better! And you will not need a calculator for everything. I've been using the game a few times a week, whenever I have a little spare time. The drills are fun, they are repetitive enough to help you improve, but not so repetitive as to be boring. It is a fun and interesting challenge to see how many problems you can get right and to work up the levels. As a professional instructor, I think this game will actually teach you something worthwhile. This game is suitable for kids ages 10 and up and also for adults who need to keep their job skills competitive.

I've played this for over a week now, so I'm revising my earlier review. I still say there are some definite improvements.

The CPU can actually play offense now! I was getting quite bored with the complete inability of the CPU to run, and minimal ability to pass. It was fun to rack up the stats, but winning 84-0 even in Heisman mode got old. The CPU receivers can actually catch the ball, and the quarterback actually avoids sacks and scrambles for positive yards on blitzes and draws. In All-American and Heisman difficulty levels, the defense AI manages to catch on to your play calling pattern a lot better than before, so you're can't successfully run the same play over and over again as easily as before. There is some benefit though, you can REALLY exploit an over eager defense with the right play action, screen pass (which actually works for positive yards now), or draw plays. It works to your disadvantage on defense though, because if you are not creative and run the same defense on the same formations over and over again, the CPU will burn you. They have also added some new defensive QB Spy plays (e.g. Nickle DE and Nickle OLB Double Spy plays) which work very well against the option.

The best new features by far are the impact players, and "in the zone" modes. Both player and CPU impact players when "in the zone" make some spectacular plays, and fun post play celebrations. Thankfully, the refs are not as trigger happy with the unsportsmanlike conduct flag. The timing of the players going "in the zone" is quite good. It happens at key moments in the game on key plays. Unfortunately, and I may discover this not to be true later, is that you can't seem to develop an impact player during the course of a season. They are locked in and set for the entire season. If you end up with a linebacker with 60 tackles, a dozen sacks, and a half dozen forced fumbles and interceptions by mid-season, I should think that he is an impact player by any definition.

The Dynasty mode is about the same as 2005, but one REALLY nice feature is season long recruiting. You are shown the potential weaknesses in positions where you would lose seniors, so you are given 12 scholarship bids you can put out and monitor recruit interest and allocate 0-100% of points weekly amongst recruits throughout the year. They have also added academics as a pitch. Unfortunately, (and maybe I just haven't figured out how yet), you cannot choose the recruiting pitch criteria nor choose to scout. The AI doesn't do the best job, because let's say you figure the pitch to use is Program Prestige, the CPU continues to pitch other things. The only time you can choose the pitch is during in campus visits. There is a menu option to select when you can pitch, but it's always set to campus visits, and I can't change it even if I disable the recruiting AI assistance. You also get a lot more 5 and 4 star duds with "poor" to "average" potential which was very rare in 2005. Sadly, you are locked in with 12 recruits at the beginning of the season, so you can't replace any choice, and all you can do is change the priority percentage to 0 and hope he withdraws from contention. You cannot target kickers or punters during the season. Another nice new feature is that you can auto-name the select or complete rosters, so no more of the Position + Jersey Number schemes for the first few seasons. However, in Race for the Heisman mode, you have to do that before you start the campaign, because you absolutely cannot edit the rosters in his mode.

The most spectacular feature which makes this game far superior to 2005 is the Heisman Race mode. You select a player position, and run drills for college scouts. Depending on how well you perform, you get scholarship offers from various schools which you can choose to accept, or go in as a walk-on to any school you select. It would seem the ability scores and the number and quality of offers are directly correlated to how well you do in the drill. My first run through with an RB, I only scored 3 touchdowns in 10 tries, and got offers from three schools ranging in rank from #51 to #58 in addition to walk-on. I ran through it again, scored 7/10 times, and this time I got some offers from top-25 teams. This also sets the ability scores which cannot be modified. The gameplay, as I mentioned, is spectacular, and the games when teams are close in level, are exceptionally close. There are some caveats to this mode. It might seem that you have no control over rosters and recruiting in this mode. You also have no access to the pennant collection, and cannot edit rosters (names, equipment, etc.), and can only set the depth chart during the game, and it does not carry over to the next game. You can play pennants during the game, but to cash in points and enter codes, you have to exit Heisman and go to Dynasty mode. Having said that, I think Pennants are irrelevant because the gameplay (especially passing) is much improved. Rushing has become a lot harder which is a good thing, especially because I-Form Normal counter play is not a guaranteed touchdown with 4-3 man coverage & wide receiver motion like it used to be.

There are some other odds & ends.

The Good:

You can switch the controller to either team's side during the game. This is really fun if you choose to play some of the marquee games and play either offense or defense on both sides. I don't recall this ability in 2005. It will disable pennants if one of the teams is user controlled.

You can't edit player skills in Race for Heisman mode, so you can't create a super player. The skills are set during tryout.

There is less discrepency in the coaches/media rankings. In 2005, if a team started too far down, at one point it would be ranked #2 in the media poll, but #25 in the coaches poll.

The Bad:

You can't redshirt your Heisman hopeful. If you do well enough in the tryout, you may end up on a top team with a 99 skill senior in your position, and it seems insane that a freshman would get the start.

Players and refs still walk through each other in the post play animations.

It is sometimes raining with clear blue skies, and sometimes there is sunshine during night games! :)

The OL gets WAY too many pancakes. After my first season, my center had 288 pancakes! Even mediocre OL players pancake all but impact D-Linemen on 20-50% of the plays. The CPU doesn't get that benefit.

You can edit *every* skill value when you create a prospect up to the 99 maximum. In 2005, the upper bounds were limited by player position and size. Now every created prospect can be a super Paul Hornung. It would have been nice to create an "athelate" prospect with some limits, but this one goes too far.

On the Xbox, they switch the select player button from X to B, so it takes some getting used to. The juke function has moved from the right trigger to the right paddle, so it is extremely difficult to pull combination spin, hurdle, juke moves without your right thumb fumbling and flailing all over the place.

In the weekly schedules, when you looked at the game info, it would show the teams' current ranking whether they were in the top 25 or not, but now, you only see that right before the game starts, or right after it ends. There is also no longer an overall grade for a team. You just have offense, defense, and special team grades.

The Ugly:

Who in the blazes picked the menu colors? Dark navy text on a black background? That is what you get for your team in Race or Dynasty mode. The contrast is so poor, it actually hurt my eyes. I can't believe the Beta testers did not riot over this. They also had some nice red-yellow-green shading for NCAA interest level, coach job security, etc., but they've gone to solid colors now. There is no longer a grading system for coach job security.

All the player pictures in roster and recruiting screens look like county sherrif mug shots. This is a really major step down from the last version. Also, the refs have five o'clock shadows and look like they came to the game all hung over after throwing an all night drunk.

During late afternoon games, the shadow coverd parts of the field are pitch black! If your team is wearing light uniforms,

you can barely see them, and if the other team is wearing dark uniforms, you absolutely cannot see them until they tackle you or intercept your pass.

They changed the kick meter to Madden style, and I personally do not like it one bit. However, that is entirely subjective.

All in all, this game is an absolute "must buy" if only for the Heisman mode. I will be wasting a signficant number of hours of my life on this game!

Well, I picked it up yesterday (7/11/05) and I can say, the passing has been much improved. My star catchers are more likely to catch the ball than drop it. There are still dropped passes, but it's more realistic now and not as frustrating. In fact, when my big star does miss a catch, it's usually because I didn't throw it well or I'm throwing into double or triple coverage. However, I have seen him make the catch when he's "in the zone", a new feature that is pretty cool. Basically, your star player(s) will eventually get into a groove, which means they are more apt to make the big play when you control them. If they do, the game will zoom into slo-motion video to show the big play they made and then zooms back out as the play continues.

The ability to easily scramble your QB is great. No longer do you have to "shut off" the passing icons. On the Xbox, hitting the A button turns off the icons, makes your QB tuck the ball and sprint. As long as you haven't crossed the LOS, you can let go and you are immediately back into the passing mode. Very simple change that makes scrambling a lot easier and less frustrating.

Juking is all done with the right analog stick, as is swimming on defense. Also, the right analog stick acts as the "Big Hit" control, just like in Madden and unlike last years NCAA game. Still no play-maker-style controls, though.

Presentation is not bad, but it's still EA-ish and not as spectacular as the ESPN games were (like ESPN NFL 2k5 and MLB 2k5). Hopefully, next year they can revamp all that, especially on the new consoles. The commentary is new, but it repeats itself quickly, but I'm pretty engrossed in the game at hand, so it's not that annoying. Still, it's nice that Nessler, Herbstreit and Corso recorded new commentary that is still fun to listen to.

The only other minor quibble I have with this game is the collision detection. I've seen my players walk through refs or other players as they get up after a play. It looks pretty weird and I wish they'd fix this. This was present in the 2005 version as well. Still, it's not a show stopper, but it makes the game feel as if it could be a lot more polished than it is.

I've only played a few games, including the Run For the Heisman mode, which is pretty cool as you play as a recruit for up to 4 years in persuit of the trophy. You name your player and then have your choice of how you want your stud player to be: pocket QB, scrambling QB, running back, wide receiver, defense. Which choice you choose then puts you into a "mini-game" to rack up as many points as possible to impress the college scouts. Your stats will be based on how well you perform. This will also give you a list of the top 3 schools that want to recruit you. However, you don't have to go there and can choose to walk-on any campus you wish. At that point, you go to your dorm room and your off! You don't have much control over the off-the-field activities in this mode, though. Still, this mode is a really fun mode to play in as you play the character you created and watch him attempt to garner the Heisman Trophy.

I haven't played dynasty yet, as I'm still playing exhibition games in order to get a handle on the game. You can do recruiting year round, and from what I've seen so far, this year's edition is definitely a big improvement over the previous edition.

I didn't get a chance to play online games yet. I did log on, and the interface for Xbox Live is revamped and looks pretty good. Only about 12 people were on-board, but none were quite ready to challenge me (nor was I ready to be challenged yet).

Overall, this is definitely one to get if you love college football. The graphics were tweaked, but they are still nothing to really gush about. They did tone down the "steroid" look so that the players look more like college players. But overall, the graphics tweaks are not what make this the must-buy college game. It's the actual gameplay tweaks/revamps that were done that have made this one of the best NCAA football games yet.

Like the last game I reviewed, Need for Speed: Underground 2, I really didn't want to purchase this game, but another family member (my borther this time) brought it home anyway. At first, I was distracted with a rental of mine: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. But after getting frustrated with the final mission (actually, I wasn't frustrated, but I was too lazy to go through the entire level to get to the point where I failed), I decided to pop in NCAA 2006 and see what it was like.

When I first entered the game, I decided to try out the new flagship mode of the game, Race for the Heisman Mode. In the beginning, you are at a college scouting session picking which position you will play (they're all specialty positions, leaving out the underappreciated O-Line). When you pick your position, you will enter immediately into the spring drill which best suits your position (Oklahomas, Pass Skeleton, etc.). When you are done with your drill, you are then immediately given the choice of three schools (their strength depending on your success rating at your drill) or you can choose to walk-on to any school you like.

Once you are in you dorm room, you have the option of doing several things, one being playing your games (or simming them). Other things you can do is look at your achievements and awards over the years, look at fan mail (I never knew that college football phenoms only got one letter every several weeks talking about their career choices... interesting), and look at a picture at an really ugly-looking girl on your computer (when you are a freshman, at least).

When you play a game in RFTH mode, I expected it to be as I just playing as myself throughout the game and resting when on defense. But what I got was pretty much a game that I could've played with the Quick Start option. I control any player on field on my team, I control offense and defense, I control playcalling, etc. This is extremely dissapointing in my mind. Once again, this is supposed to be about me controlling my player and bringing him to glory . Controlling the entire team destroys the illusion that I am slaving to bring my custom player to glory.

A few more gripes about RFTH mode is that no matter what team you play for, you will always start off the bat, no matter who you are replacing. Once again, this is very unrealistic. Also, about controlling your personal player, you do not control his actions off the field. I would've liked to see at the very least an answer based thing which allows us to shape the character of our player. I have only gone to my sophomore year (with no Heisman trophies), but I beginning to feel that RFTH mode is just a worthless novelty mode brought in to garner in the feel of the game. Hopefully, this mode will be improved upon in 2007.

Onto the actual gameplay, it seems to be more "Offense-friendly" than seasons past. Recievers and halfbacks drop fewer passes than last year (thankful for this), the kicking meter is slower on All-American than last year, and it is much easier to bust big gains on the ground with a few well-placed jukes. Another thing that may contribute to this is the fact that the defensive controls have been unfairly altered from last year (player change and sprint on defense have been switched, which results in confusion and sometimes frustration). There is this new feature in the game called Impact Player and at random times, Impact players will be "In The Zone". Besides this, no other new features in the gameplay.

For it's flagship Dynasty mode, It is pretty much the same Dynasty mode as last year with a tune-up to make it better for the current year. Several things new to the mode include an Athlon Sports preview of the upcoming season (nothing new inside, though), pipeline states to have an easier time recruiting (you need at least 5 players on your team in a state to have it considered as a "pipeline" state), and a key new feature called In-Season recruiting, which allows you to recruit hot prospects in-season, as the title suggests.

The graphics have been relatively unchanged from last year, except for the fact that the heads have been pretty much "inflated" to a weird level. The collision detection bugs after the play seem to be gone, as I have seen none as of yet.

The Create-A-School, player, sign, etc. options remain unchanged from last year.

At the beginning of the game, NCAA takes a page from ESPN NFL 2K5 and has 3D renditions of Brad Nessler, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit. Unfortunately, these previews get repetitive really quick. Here's the basic skeleton of these intros: Brad introduces the broadcasting game, he adresses the weather, the home team comes out, the away team comes out, Brad makes his prediction, Kirk makes his prediction and his key player to watch for, Lee makes his prediction with some helmet or mascot head of the team he is favoring. I feel ashamed the way that they changed Lee from a person who made a decision based on the analysis of the game to a person who just puts on something and says "I'm favoring Team A!" If it was a way to try and make the situation of broadcasting the game looser and more relaxed, then it failed.

For the music, I am disappointed with this as well. From EA's view, it seems that all college football fans want to listen to is Punk Rock with a splash of Ska and Old-School Rap (One song each). As for the bands they chose, they have a nice blend of new and old tunes for you to listen to (the better songs are from De La Soul, The Pixies, and The Clash). And if you get sick of the EA Trax, here's a tip to all of the unknowing reviewers out there: THEY DO HAVE MARCHING BANDS IN THE GAME! If you want bands on the main menu, go to MY NCAA, Audio, and then change menu music from EA Trax to Bands. Personally, I like the fact that EA put new music in the game instead of listening to the bands which were fun in the beginning but got irritating later on in the gaming experience. The only thing I don't like is that it does not support custom soundtracks (Bummer. I would've liked a mix of EA Trax, my music burned onto the XBox, and marching bands).

In final, this is game that is pretty much a must own for any colege football fan out there. It simply is if you liked NCAA 2005, you will be very pleased with the new rendition of NCAA.

Honest reviews on NCAA Football 2006 - Xbox

Bought it last night at midnight and while I only played for just over an hour...I was very impressed. The graphics have seen a huge improvement and the added "Race for the Heisman" feature adds a new dynamic. The EA developers are doing a great job evolving this game into something great on its own rather than an annual Madden tag-along. Improved controls make this game much more fun to play than last year and the gameplay...especially running the option, is much better. A must for college football fans, hardcore gamer not required (I'm certainly not one). My only complaint, and it's just me getting used to it is...it seems to take more skill now in the passing game, which frankly was too easy in previous versions. Running the ball is a treat, with new analog controls for directional juking I feel like I have better control when scrambling or using one of my backs. Hope this is helpful. Go Gators!

Here is in my opinion the best way to play this game on the Xbox.

WHAT'S RIGHT ABOUT THIS GAME

1. Set it to Dynasty. Heisman mode is kind of a waste -it's funner to control a coaches career.

2. Set it to Heisman difficulty level. DO NOT mess with the AI sliders.

3. Set it to EAsy Play. Your runingback will find the holes and your receivers have indicators to tell you which one is open. You will not always be successful, however. It isn't that EAsy.

4. Turn the unsportsman like conduct down to about 30% in the penalty section. You can still get nailed for it, but when you suspect your player is doing something stupid pause the game and unpause it -no penalty.

5. Use the Auto-Name function in the roster section. No more ROLB #54 -they will all have names now except for the really small schools like Maine Black Bears (example only -you may find differently). Brad Nessler will actually pronounce the names.

6. In the contoller section you can switch to the 2005 control layout. There's too much whining about the controls. If you want last year's, you can have it.

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS GAME

1. There's still too many long bombs.

2. It's too easy to block punts. All you have to do is take one of the men on the far right and scooch him over to the rest of the lineman, but yet not right next to them so he can get around the offensive line. Then since the defense won't jump offsides you can already have him running in place with your finger near the B button. When the ball is snapped hit that B button and nail that punter.

3. The soundtrack stinks. I mean really stinks. Go to the audio section and change the music to "bands".

That's about it.

I loved Crysis and Crysis 2 but man this one is really fantastic the graphics are more improved making you feel like your in blockbuster hit making you feel like your the star of a high pack action movie, storyline takes place after the events of Crysis 2 but some say its between crysis and crysis 2 which not true. gameplay value is very crisp along with driving, many of game reviews say that the driving is'nt all that well but in my opinion it has improve since the first crysis. now if your serious about crysis and like to be very competive you otta check out the multiplayer I play none stop lol there are alot of game modes but the most unique one I really like is called Hunter, basically you and other players are being hunted by a group of Nanosuit squad memebers and sadly the other team is C.E.L.L where you have to work together to stay alive if not you become Nanosuit memeber and hunting down your buddies if your a fan you neeeeed to get this game ASAP !

The sound for music is amazing! And the surround sound for games is so good I could nearly literally hear everything in the game and brought my K/D Ratio up by an average of 5-10points, I was winning nearly every free for all match I entered, and always top 3 and the range is so good I could still listen to music downstairs when the base is upstairs. The only drawback I've found is batteries which can quickly solve with 2 sets of rechargeable AAA batteries. Overall, a completely awesome headset, well worth the $130 I paid of it on amazon

XBOX 360 GHOST CASE - CRYSTAL CLEAR/HDMI/BLUE LIGHTS

Received the case from the manufacturer and it had all the parts necessary for completing the mod....except the instructions. I highly recommend you do a google search for instructions before attempting. Also be advised the disk spinner thing will require that you "break" the lid of your current disk drive to get the magnet spinner out. Also once you have everything taken apart and install the disk drive make sure that it is working before putting the lid on. If you dont you might have positioned the magnet improperly and will get a scraping noise which will break your disk (use an old cd or blank cd before using your games. Furthermore, if you had put on the lids and then have to take it apart its a pain. I also had to sand the disk bay opening on the front plate to allow the disk to open (not a big deal). It took me about half an hour to complete with the sanding and testing. A word to the wise: If you are a parent buying this for your kid help them do the mod or you may end up with a 200 dollar paperweight. Dont let this review get you down the mod is beautiful and your xbox will look great.

The Ghost Case is an awesome mod product that definitely give your 360 a unique look. It goes perfectly with my other mods (a lighted fan and wind tunnel). It does however have a few problems. First of all, the case does not precisely fit the console like the OEM case does. You really have to struggle both to get this thing on and off so I would definitely NOT recommend this to someone who has never taken apart their 360 before! Especially since it comes with no directions. I do not know the situation for the clear dvd lid for the other drives, but I have the Benq dvd drive and there are some problems. You have to almost permanently mangle your original dvd drive to take parts in order for the clear lid to work. After that is done you really need to take time to find the exact right placing for the lid, otherwise it will mess up discs and and not play correctly. Even after doing this I cannot play my 360 in the vertical position because the clear lid does not correctly hold the disc in place vertically. When horizontal I can occasionally hear a high pitched whirring telling me that the disc is scratching against the clear lid. Perhaps I need to open it up and correct the lid's positioning again. Another small problem is that the front faceplate does not position itself correctly over the power button so you have to push very hard to get the power button to work. This will get annoying if you use the power button frequently. There is also no button on the faceplate for the wireless sync button. Its just a hole, so you will need a screwdriver or something similar to reach in and push this button.

PROS:

-gives 360's a unique look

-made with thick high quality plastic

-nice and clear, gives you a great look at the inside of your console

-LED lights are simple to install

-comes with clear dvd lid so you can see the disc spin while you play

CONS:

-no instructions

-difficult to take case on and off due to its odd fit

-clear faceplate makes using power and wireless sync buttons annoyingly hard

-clear dvd lid for Benq drive requires you to mangle your dvd drive, its difficult to position, and makes playing the console vertically (with a spinning disc inside) near impossible without destroying the disc

OVERALL:

I would give this product 3.5 stars if I could. When all is said and done its a pretty awesome product and I love it. The difficulty of putting the case and dvd lid on was well worth it, but because of this I would only recommend it to those experienced in taking apart their 360.

Best Deals for XBOX 360 GHOST CASE - CRYSTAL CLEAR/HDMI/BLUE LIGHTS

This is single handedly the greatest accessory for the Xbox360 you can buy. It completely changes the way your console affects the ambience of your game room. In the dark this awesome kit glows a blue so fine it makes the whole room change. It is not easy for an amateur to put this together, the 360 case was designed to make it difficult to open, but once everything is running perfectly its like a symphony, Microsoft would sell 10 times as many units if it would make these types of modifications available from the factory, simply AWESOME!!!

Honest reviews on XBOX 360 GHOST CASE - CRYSTAL CLEAR/HDMI/BLUE LIGHTS

I have to admit it takes some time to put this case together, but the final product is just pure genius. It makes me so happy to have a glowing box that plays all my favorite games. This is my first time modding a product, and I am happy to say it was a success.

i reallly like the civil war so i like this game. pros: it has some good game modes and great graphics. you control your army on a map then lead them into battle. its pretty fun. cons: 1. your armys dont all have generals! i dont understand that. you cant lead your army into battle without a general in this game. that makes perfect sense but all armys had a general back then. 2. the biggest problem! YOU TAKE TURNS IN BATTLE!! they attack then you attack they attack you attack etc. this throws alot of strategy out the window. it completely takes away from the action that should be there. overall this game is alot of fun but they could really change the whole taking turns in battle thing.

I love this game because lots of authenticty in it,but lacks real Civil War maps and You have to take turns between shooting which wouldn't happen in a real Civil War battle.
