My husband and I are avid Skylanders players, and he asked for "Eye Brawl" for our anniversary. I couldn't find it in the stores anywhere. I was very happy to find it on Amazon. Apparently it's a rare figure and hard to find, so you may have to pay a little bit more to get it. But with the way the eyeball lights up, it's well worth the money.

Got mine at Gamestop for 14.99 :P Look for them. They will be sold out because they are new. They will restock and not stop making them for a while. Just think of everyone looking at the same websites for these items. And with these people trying to rob people, they will buy them all up.

PlayStation 4: Launch Edition

I purchased the launch version at 12:15 Friday night of the 15th. I'm glad I did. Got up the next morning and looked online and they were already sold out.

With prime shipping it arrived Monday afternoon. I was worried that I was going to get a bad unit like a lot of other reviewers on here. Got everything hooked up and hit the power button... It flashed blue... I was worried for a second, then the light turn white and the PS logo appeared on the screen. Sigh of relief. First thing I did was run the latest firmware update. It updated without any issues.

Once you're at the home screen you're welcomed by soothing music and a clean feeling menu. After a couple of days I got tired of the menu background music so all I had to do was go to the settings and turn that off. Everything seems very snappy. My first real impression was how fast the PS store opened. On the PS3 it seemed to take forever, but on the PS4 it was almost instant.

Installed my first game (Battlefield 4) and once I inserted the disc the game immediately started to install itself. Within seconds it was ready to play. When I first entered the game I was told that to access the games network features I would have to install an update for the game. But for offline campaign mode I could immediately jump into it. I played the campaign for a few minutes then backed out so I could run the update and use the network stuff. The PS4 alerted me that it had started the download of the update and once complete that it was ready to install. It installed without a hitch and I was able to get into the game and access the multiplayer features.

Went ahead and installed the other two games I had purchased (COD Ghost and Need for Speed) both installed without issue. Got notified that they too needed updates so I went ahead and ran them. This being a launch system and as new as the games are I wasn't too surprised with all the updates.

It was getting late so I didn't get to get into much game play that night. Fast forward to now and I must say i'm quite impressed so far. I've been playing battlefield mostly and the graphics are phenomenal. Compared to the PS3 its a great improvement. I would have to say it give the PC a run for its money.

One thing I was really impressed was this. A friend was watching a movie on netflix. I came into the room and he wanted to show me something on COD. In a matter of seconds he went from netflix to game play. You hit the PS button and your back a the main menu... He had already played the game earlier so it was on standby. He selects the game, hits enter and the game came up almost immediately and he was back to where he left off. After watching him play a bit I was impressed with the quality of this game as well. Found a few glitches in the game, but I expect those will be fixed over time. I know Battlefield was having issues with some of its multiplayer maps. I guess thats what you get when you buy launch day consols.

Overall I'm liking it so far. But knowing Sony and the PS3 more is to come. I was disappointed in them not including the DLNA features because that was one of the main things I used on the PS3. I have a feeling that Sony will add this soon.

Those of you who are thinking about buying one this holiday. Wait till amazon or the stores get them back in stock. Don't buy one for $600-$1000 its not worth that cost. Plus by the time there back in stock the should have more of the bugs worked out.

I hope my review was helpful. To those who got bad units and are hating on Sony: Don't disqualify the PS4 yet. Get your replacement and give it another shot. I think you'll be glad you did.

I don't even know where to begin with my review. I guess I could say that I love the Playstation 4 or that it works perfectly and I've had no issues (apart from the Playstation Network being down a bit as it was getting hammered by all the new PS4 owners). I guess I'll just do a list or Pros and Cons:

PROS:

-The system itself looks awesome. Very architectural. It was actually the first thing my girlfriend commented on and said she loved the way it looked.

-The User Interface is basically an upgraded XMB. If you liked the XMB, you'll like this interface. It is also incredibly snappy and responsive.

-Getting in to and out of the Playstation Store is seamless. Not like on PS3 where it takes 30 sec to a minute to load. It loads instantly and is integrated in to the UI.

-Resogun is awesome in all its old school shoot-em-up glory.

-Killzone: Shadowfall is beautiful but I haven't had too much play time with it yet.

-Knack is surprisingly fun, despite what all the reviews say. It looks like a Pixar movie at points. Drop in co-op is a blast. It's so much fun with me as regular Knack and my girlfriend as Robot Knack. She is actually better at beating up baddies than I am.

-Updated trophy support. Rarity of trophies is a fun little data point to look at.

-Playstation APP/offscreen capabilities are nice. Typing using a touch screen is so much nicer than using a gamepad.

-DualShock 4 (the controller) is nice to hold. Trigger shoulder buttons are a marked improvement over the DS3 R2/L2 buttons.

-My favorite feature: VITA REMOTE PLAY! Works like a dream. Almost no perceptible lag. I was playing Resogun on it (a game that requires little to no lag or you'll die) and it ran so smoothly.

CONS:

-UI is barebones. That's actually fine with me but many people these days demand a more robust UI.

-Unable to delete unused Apps in the movie/tv section. If there is I haven't figured out a way to do it. Granted, I haven't tried that hard since I've been having too much fun playing games.

SUMMARY:

It's a great gaming system with some great games and a promising future. The interface is bare bones (which I like) and incredibly responsive but may not satisfy people who love a more robust UI. The remote play of the vita and second screen capabilities via Playstation App are nice additions that will get a lot of use out of people that own a Vita/Playstation App compatible phone. It is a device made to play games and does so wonderfully.

I let the dust settle a bit on this before writing the review on the machine. Have had for a week and love every min of gaming on it! Bought Battlefield 4, Knack and Killzone for it and they all look amazing on it. Especially going from Xbox 360 to this on battlefield. On the 360 the game would freeze every 20 mins and you would have to restart your xbox every time. Ultimately would get annoying and just the wish to play anymore. The 5 min load time every time would kill the mood to know would freeze 15 mins later. Also, the graphics are night and day, understandable that the machine is a upgrade (much needed) from the 7 year old console. But, the interface is much different from xbox and easier in my opinion to navigate. Also, do not have ads on every page (which is a plus for me). Great to have the machine install things on the back end while playing games and on standby.

Now, I understand that there is alot of tension between the 2 consoles right now. Which is understandable, people have a preference to their style. I have compiled a list of reasons the I went with the PS4 being a former Microsoft enthusiast. And, please for the love of God! If you did not buy from Amazon, don't post a review on here!

The hardware although better slightly in some areas is better in all the right areas (memory, video card). Playstation went with GDDR5 and Microsoft went with DDR3 ram on the board, which they are sharing with the 3 Operating systems. In turn means this is being spread out to 3 OS's and can be taxing on resources. The GDDR5 is VIDEO RAM not Local ram, which is video centric focusing on the memory of the graphics processor. Since these machines are essentially CPU/GPU taxed there is no need to focus on anything else like a PC.

Game centered.... I did not care about all the NFL and TV add on BS that came with the Xbox one. If you are the kind that did great. But, to me this round, Microsoft seemed to cater too much to making the Xbox a HTPC and not a GAMING console.

Did not want the kinect. Did not like the first version and never used it. Plus, the online pass for Sony is 10 dollars cheaper a year than Microsoft.

And, Finally...I have 2 Xbox 360's that have both been serviced twice BY MICROSOFT in the past 2 years. That is a total of 4 repair and a total of 400 dollars in repairs, for faulty hardware that they REFUSE to acknowledge when I essentially sent in for repairs. Would send in for an optical drive failure and would die a year later on both machines. Sure, I have the technical skills to repair it myself but was same price for parts as was for repair and did not void warranty. Ironically the SAME issues are rearing their ugly heads on the new consoles with the Xbox one.

Ultimately, this all boils down to what YOU the consumer want. I went for this machine because again, it focused on gaming and that was it. Also, the thing I did forget to mention, on Playstation plus you get cooler free games a month than you do on live.

Honest reviews on PlayStation 4: Launch Edition

Yes, this is a fantastic game machine.

SONY has already released the patch 1.51 for it, which got rid of the ONLY circumstance that I could crash it:

The Amazon video app seemed to have a memory leak or something. I could seamlessly switch out of a game (Assassin's Creed, Killzone, NFS, or Knack) and suspend the game while watching movies on Netflix, Crackle, or go online with the web browser or the PS Store. Not so when I used the Amazon App the first few days. My movies on Amazon App would also freeze all within the first 10 mins or so and the machine would lock up when i'd try to exit that circumstance.

After the 1.51 patch, delivered yesterday on 11/20 , Amazon app works fine and i'm unable to get the machine to lockup at all!!!!

So, the ONLY complaint I had since buying it is now gone.

I hope Amazon won't censure this for telling the truth about how it WAS, and is now fixed, because it involved their name, we can hope.

The GREAT:

SONY released an update to their developer's code library that let every game available speed up and become sharper (much like a PC might get a driver or Direct 3D update). So, by my count, ALL PS4 games are running at 1080p, with Need For Speed being the only one at 30fps instead of 60fps because the developers wanted it that way to ensure it looked the same on both machines. Most XBO Games are if you check around only running at 720p, and that's the honest truth. I don't spend more money on a LESS capable machine, so, it's PS4 for me only.

DualShock 4: The controller is Fantastic and a very nice update/refinement of SONY's tried and true pad. This feels like a professional gaming controller. I don't know HOW third parties are going to sell their own, this is really a wonderful thing, matching up VERY well with my Saitek P900 and P2900 wireless and wired PC game pads. Those look funny but I consider them my favorite controllers. Until now, the PS4 controller certainly channels the best desires of gaming designers and gamers needs.

Design: It's gorgeous, and, the angles and panels lend itself to getting designs and skins put on it. You get a nice dark kit that disappears into your home theater setup, but, if you want, it can be decorated with slipcover or sticker skins that could make it look striking. It's very small and light. I can't imagine a PS Four years down the road that is alot smaller and lighter, it won't seem right!

Launch Games: SONY didn't front load all of their first party studios with launch day deadlines. If you have a PS3 there's still amazing games that have come out and still coming out. SONY doesn't brick their last gen system when the new one comes out. The games are coming and the games we do have today are great. The games NOT made by SONY from EA, UBI Soft and Activision et al are all BETTER on the PS4, if not in gameplay due to the controller then just because they have 2x the fidelity of the XBO version. It's just the truth!

My Verdict: The ONLY MUST HAVE Game System at the moment.

Get a WiiU if you need game of the year, because, it might just be Super Mario 3D World from the review's i've just seen, but, make that your second system over this, because the games i've played on the PS4 are superb and the best Day One experience i've ever had with a game system!!!

Pros:

+ Super-sensitive mic picks up everything I say, even whispers and mumbles; this was the single biggest factor to my purchasing these to replace my previous headset, the Sharkoon X-tatic SP

+ Great sound, not overly "bass-y", and you can control the amount of bass with the Bass Boost dial

+ XBOX controller connection is compatible with the chat pad and all Rock Band/DJ Hero/Guitar Hero controllers without an adapter, unlike the Sharkoons

+ Extremely comfortable, even with glasses and after multiple hours of continuous use

+ While they're not noise-canceling, I'd say they cut external noise at least in half, if not more

+ Controller dongle/pod is light and well positioned

Cons:

Microphone is so sensitive it often picks up background noise

I don't entirely like the microphone monitoring feature. I don't personally need to hear my own voice when I'm speaking, but it is a useful reminder about whether or not you have your mic muted.

Due to the position of the mute toggle, it can be a little too easy to accidentally change the Bass Boost/Game/Chat volumes inadvertently

Very, very slight static hiss when plugged into USB power, which is apparently systemic to USB-powered headsets. The hiss is less noticeable here than with the Sharkoons, at least

Overall, a huge improvement over my previous headset. The group of people I play with regularly noticed a big difference in audio quality and ability to hear me. Highly recommended if you need a PC and/or 360 headset.

I just picked these up today, Aug. 16, 2011, which is when they became available. I really love the way these things sound. they are great on movies, music, and especially games. I've had the px 2's, the x11's and these are far superior. The sound is much more rich/full. Without a dss footsteps are crystal clear and no hiss or background noice. the bass boost is great too, if you really want to sound whore turn up the bass a little and those footsteps sound like stomps. I am really pleased because no matter how high i turn up the volume i don't get any distortion. The ear cups are bigger as well making them feel more comfortable than the x11's or px21's. If you liked the x11's then you'll love these. Basically if you have the x11's/px21's and they work then you dont really need these. But if your current headset has distortion or is broken or if your looking to get your first headset for gaming, I highly recommend these without a doubt. This is the best headset you can buy for under $100. Trust me i've tried them all, the plantronics, sharkoon, tritton, & a bunch of others but i just end up returning them because they dont match the quality of the turtle beaches. Hope this review was helpful, if you got any questions please feel free to leave a comment, thanks!

These headphones are the perfect gift or accesoy to any gamer who enjoys FPS games. I can have the volume as loud as i wanted without disturbing my kids or wife. I can also watch movies and even though they are wired it is long and easy to keep under controll and out of reach of little kids. They are ultra comfortable and the sound is great. I would perfer surround sound for sure but did not have enough to invest in the next grade up. the price was a little high 60.00 but it was worth it. On Call of Duty black ops i can hear enemies entering a building on the first floor while im on the second floor, not only that but i can also hear what direction it is coming from. I ultimatley decided upon the wired pair as well because i read many reviews stating the lower end wirless headphones had lots of interference in the presence of wireless products i.e. baby moniter, laptop, cell phones, and basically anything that is wirless. Bottom line great sound, decent price, and looks awesome.

Honest reviews on Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 Gaming Headset and Amplified Stereo

This is the first pair of headphones I have invested a decent amount of money into, and needless to say I'm blown away. For $55, music has become a completely new drug for me. I have a decent pair of speakers on my computer, but having a pair of headphones that actually have decent (for the money) speakers in them really makes music so much better. Everything comes in clear and deep (I listen to a lot of electronic type music, so it's all over the place). Having the bass control is amazing as well, I honestly didn't think I'd use it, but on songs where it gets out of the range the headphones can handle bass-wise before they sound bad, I can just tune the bass down and it sounds awesome again. It really is useful.

And that was just the music. I play Skyrim, and having the music and the sound effects so close to my ears and crisp really helps set the immersion, along with it blocking out outside noises, sometimes I have to remember to stop playing and actually do something productive @_@

Durability seems good for the price, can't really say much as I haven't had the set too long, but I've dropped them about a yard from my couch onto my floor several times already (not thinking, derp) and they're ok, which I would expect for the price.

Haven't used the microphone, but if it is as sensitive as everyone says, I'm sure there is a way to turn down the sensitivity. These babies are going to make Diablo 3 unreal, can't wait!

I have researched for over three months now about what to buy. My set up requires me to play Xbox on mute most of the time which sucks, so I've been looking for some headphones to let me hear my games and not disturb anyone else. These are wonderful. I bought them along with the DSS Dolby Digital 7.1 Decoder *check my other reviews to see my thoughts on the DSS 7.1 Decoder*. I was looking for a pair that had the 7.1 (yes I know it's not "real" 7.1) built in, but I've read and heard bad things about the wireless (unless you go super-high end). The wire on this is really not a big deal and not a mess at all. The sound is phenomenal. My father works at an Acoustic Engineering firm and gave these a try and was very impressed for the price point. The sound is awesome and with the DSS makes you aware of where everything is as you move around. Understand that these are 2.1 channel speakers and Xbox only puts out 5.1 channels, so it's not true 7.1, but you won't care once you put them on. When I play an FPS I like to stand near explosions or fires and spin in circles just to hear the sounds move around in my headphones. It's not just for FPS either. I have played sports games, FPS, RPG and racing and it really puts you in the action. It's strange to take them off and realize how quiet it is in the room with how much sound those things really pump into your ears. The separate controls for chat and game are great and the bass boost really does make a difference. My first try with them was 3+ hours and they were never uncomfortable or required readjustment--they just feel nice.

I would highly suggest the wired version and if you want to move past the RCA outputs on the Xbox, get the DSS decoder (it has an optical input)--the sound is digital and you won't believe what you've been missing through TV speakers. I was a skeptic for a long time and have tried many of my friends and relatives various headsets (Tritton 360, Turtle Beach X41, and the new Tritton Trigger) this was better than all of them. For what I paid, you can't beat this product. If you've been on the fence about it, just get it. If you have been debating it, just get it. If you need to keep the place quiet and don't want to miss out on the mind numbing sounds, just get it. These are awesome.

If you would like to leave a comment with any questions you have, feel free--this took me a long time to reach a decision, so I've learned a lot. I would gladly offer my advice and OPINION. Remember that folks, reviews are opinions not the Gospel.

I was originally going to buy this since it's an 'Official' replacement. The reviews are good and I am guessing that many people were satisfied after they received their new power supply. I hated this price for just that piece of the xbox. Read somewhere that it was $35 from the Xbox site/microsoft store. Looking around, couldn't find just the individual piece. Eventually I came upon a link for ordering repairs/replacements from the Xbox service.

Finally, found the link to order the power supply for just $35.00.

I suggest that you just buy the item here to save the money. I posted up a link before but they removed it. Here it is again, I will try to keep it updated, just removed the spaces. myservice . xbox . com

You will have to register your product before you can order any of the pieces from xbox. Which was easy, it's right on the back of your xbox. After you buy this item from them it's a total of $38.15 due to taxes. Still a better deal.

Just a Note; It usually stops working because of the overheating and the failure of the fan inside the power bar. If you buy the special Torx bits to open it up and periodically clean out the product then it increases the longevity of it immensely.

After searching for quite a while I found this power supply. I have no idea why microsoft makes the official ac power cord so hard to find. If you don't have the new xbox you can find the old cables at gamestop. Call ahead because they might even sell this new one, none of the stores in boston had one. This is no knock off product and its exactly what I wanted, beware of buying the adapters and fake models because they could ruin your xbox or be to loud.

Considered purchasing this here but concerned about the price as well. Called Xbox support 800-469-9269 to check the price there. They base the order from the serial number on your Xbox system to ensure you are getting the correct power supply. Brick and cord are $35 including shipping. Careful!! Ordering directly from manufacturer this time was a MUCH better deal and I know I'm getting the right product.

The official XBOX website is selling the complete AC adapter (brick and cord) for $35, this is just the brick for $61.99. I almost got ripped off until i check the site to see if my Adapter was covered.

Ryse: Son of Rome Day One Edition - Xbox One
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

So first off, I sat down yesterday morning with my Xbox One ready to play an actual game, rather than just playing and setting up the menu's and watching movies. First game I popped in was Ryse, and may I say, although short, was very fulfilling.

The game takes you on a journey as Marius, a son of Rome who's out on a quest for vengence and glory. The combat and action are awesome, take away some minor timing queues that throw you off when trying to pull off an execution. Executions, they are ways to finish off your enemies, and by pressing the up, down, left, or right on the D-pad to choose what type of powerup you would like to have once you complete a sucessful execution (health, damage, XP, or focus). Executions are done by pressing the right trigger when you see a white or red skull over your enemy, then press the right color button (blue or yellow) when the enemy

flashes that specific color (bascially yellow is your shield and blue is the sword).

Graphics look amazing, I was very impressed by the foilage and different areas in which they take us, from the city settings, to forests, to night scapes, and so on. One thing to note, during some fights you may find yourself having issues moving the camera, as if it was stuck on a bush or building and you might get attacked off screen or don't know what queues it tells you for an execution. You fight all sorts of men, no monsters, or animals, or anything like that, just soldiers, men, people who think they are gods and so on.

Story, I really enjoyed, was a little confused at the beginning but then it smoothed itself out and brought the story around full circle, very fun. Some fights were tough, no joke, but a blast! Also, expect a twist or two, i thought I was following it, and figured something would happen, but not what did happen.

Lastly, the game does have multiplayer, however i havent even tried that yet, i apologize. I will do that later this week when my brother gets it so we can play Co-Op in the arena.

All in all, fun great game, now here is the downfall, but for me was a plus. I sat down like i said yesterday morning to play, and finished the game (on normal) last night around 8 pm. So it lasted MAYBE 10 hours, i did take 30 mins to eat lunch and dinner with my gf and a 30 min break in the middle. So maybe closer to 8 hours and yes i died on a couple fights.

Just wanted to fill you all in, sorry for the bounce around review, but i really enjoyed this game, even though it was short, i loved it. And why i liked it being short, well i have other games i want to play and when i play games i am OCD and have to finish one before i start another hah. Hope this gives you guys some insight.

Enjoy!

RYSE: Son of Rome is a GORGEOUS GAME!!! I had to say that before I even begin with this review. It seems that the "Professional"(If you want to call them that) review crews have been far too tough on a great game. I don't like when reviews contain irrelevant information like "Microsoft WAS going to make RYSE a Kinect only game" or "RYSE isn't better then this game or that game" the review should be solely based on RYSE and at this point based on it's competition of NEXT GEN games. With that said RYSE has set the BAR graphically, it was like the first time I played the original HALO on 360; what a sight to see. Now beyond the graphics YES it's similar to GOD of WAR with the button mashing and timed button pushing for executions.

They also switch things up though, you play through a horde of enemies hand to hand then you go to a arrow post to shoot an onslaught of enemies sniper style. The voice command features are pretty sweet!!! An indication on your screen will tell you the catapults are ready then you vocally YELL OUT "FIRE CATAPULTS" and the flaming boulders come flying in CRUSHING your enemies, SWEET!!!!!!! LOL Well I don't want to tell the whole game, but trust me you won't get "BORED"........"BORED" Who said that? LOL Oh and to let all the "FANBOYS" know I have BOTH XBOX ONE and PS4 so know I am not on EITHER side, just enjoying the show. Now back to the review, it's not as easy as they claim to "button smash", you have to set enemies up for dual executions and when your near the edge of a bridge your execution would change to throwing your enemy over the ledge, there is a learning curve. The gameplay is immersive you feel like your there. The sound is nice and fitting for the game, the voices sound like what we've come to look for out of soldiers of this era from 300 and other movies/tv shows.

Ryse definitely feels NEXT GEN by look and interactivity, the voice commands really add a lot to the game if you ask me. If you bought an XBOX ONE and refuse to use the kinect or voice commands then WHY even buy a next gen console? Stick to PS3 or XBOX 360 if you just want to hold a controller and push buttons. Next gen is not just beautiful images it's the KINECT 2 and VOICE RECOGNITION! Now I gave the game 5 STARS and I hope in the future this game becomes a 4 STAR game and what I mean by that is this game is the first of the next gen titles and I know there is a higher peak to what these systems can do and this is only the beginning. Also I gave my EXTRA STAR to offset these crazy 1 STAR reviews from people who don't own an XBOX ONE let alone the game RYSE! Their reviews are obvious feed back from information they have read somewhere. Finally I just want to say if you open this game up and play it and your not WOW'D then please take me to where you've been that such sights and next gen interactivity don't WOW you! LOL

I thought that this game was going to be mediocre but this game is an Amazing game with great roman story, with great combat very similar to the batman arkham series games. I enjoyed this game greatly! I want a sequel, NOW! :)

Whew! After some negative reviews I was a little worried about my Ryse pre-order but I'm here to say that this game is truly a great game! Everyone already knows that the graphics for Ryse are the absolute best out there right now. The story is compelling and the gameplay is fun. I have been playing all day and haven't felt like putting down the controller yet (except to take a quick break for dinner and to write this quick review). The game is deep and offers a lot of replay value and that is before even mentioning the online gladiator mode! Do yourself a favor and pick up Ryse. You won't regret it.

If you are looking for a game that will wow your friends and family with true next gen visuals then this is your showpiece. The graphics are simply AMAZING! Each time I play this game I am in awe. It runs perfectly smooth too.

Some of the professional reviews for this game are pretty negative and I almost didn't buy it because of them. That would have been a big mistake on my part because the game is a blast to play. Yeah, you pretty much are just running around with a sword killing barbarians but is that really so different then running around with a gun in Call of Duty? I don't think so. In fact, as I play through this game it reminds me very much a Call of Duty type of game. It is heavily scripted, combat oriented game. There are even scenes where you man stationary weapons against vast hordes of enemies just like in Call of Duty.

What really shines in this game are the execution finishing moves you use in combat. There are a ton of them so you are always seeing something different. I do wish they could have come up with a better way to indicate what buttons to press during an execution besides the colored glow. Maybe make it so when your enemy is staggered that you punch in a combo like in Mortal Kombat to perform an execution. Not sure if that would work though as the battles are pretty hectic.

I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend you check this game out!

great item but service sucks dealing with them directly. If you want to order a certain amount you better do it here or they will try to sell you a bunch of them you will not need for a period of time and ask for a smaller amount and they will not reply to your email anymore. Lowes also sell shorter screws m10 as long as you dont have the fat heads you are good to go....

You know you hate those dreaded red lights on your xbox. Fear not though. You can fix the issue yourself with a bit of time and some parts from XBRDepot. I hadn't heard of this company until I had trouble finding some of the parts I needed to fix my box in the home improvement stores. Lucky for me, Amazon carried their products.

The first thing I noticed is how flat the tops were. This is exactly what you need for this mod. I also noticed that the screws were MUCH shorter than the ones recommended by other sites for this mod. But once I checked out their website for the instructions I found out the size was actually perfect. It was just as wide as the other screws, just shorter which meant you didn't have to waste as many washers. Perfect!

The screws themselves looked exactly like the picture posted. All in perfect condition and all felt like they were very high quality. If you are looking to fix your xbox on your own and are thinking about removing the XClamps, take a look at all of the great products this company offers by looking at their website. Then come back to amazon and order it here. It costs the same as the site but you can use your amazon prime to get it fast.

Review of Downhill Domination

Downhill Domination
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
It is virtually impossible to discuss Downhill Domination without making numerous references to the SSX series (from EA Sports Big), so there is no point trying to avoid such references in a review. Plus, it is quite likely that a player of Downhill Domination will have at least moderate familiarity with the SSX series.

Downhill Domination is the latest entry into the extreme sports genre popularized by SSX. SSX and its sequel SSX tricky focus on snowboarding, featuring over-the-top stunts and extremely personable characters, along with combat and numerous gameplay modes/challenges. Downhill Demolition is the same, except that it focuses on mountain bike racing.

Like the SSX series, Downhill Domination features several "initial" characters, plus others which must be unlocked. In the SSX series, more characters become available based upon total number of wins (with all unlocked characters); in Downhill Domination, however, bonus characters are unlocked by defeating various gameplay modes/challenges. Further, Downhill Domination includes several mountain biking celebrities as bonus characters.

In terms of characters, however, the SSX series (and SSX Tricky in particular) does a far better job of giving each character a personality. To some extent, the characters in Downhill Domination are essentially "the same." This is in part due to only-mediocre voice-acting, and in even greater part to the rather scant "phrasebook" allotted per character; this last point is particularly noticeable in longer events (such as Technical Downhill races) as the player's chosen character keeps saying the same catchphrase over and over and over and over and over and...

Like the SSX series, Downhill Domination has a great array of courses available. Courses are located on mountains in Italy, USA (three areas), Peru, Russia, Scotland, Japan, and Canada; each mountain is extremely different from the others, although the courses on each mountain are relatively similar. With the exception of Mountaincross courses, all the courses are extremely vast, with numerous alternate paths to be taken; Mountaincross courses are rather "linear," with alternate paths a rare find.

There is definitely plenty of action in Downhill Domination. With precious few exceptions, there is NO time for the player to "rest" on a course; obstacles and tight corners are seemingly everywhere. When in a pack with the other competitors, there is also a great tendency for opponents to fight the player (literally) during the descent, so the player must be wary of others at all times. Further, many of the obstacles on the courses are MOVING: spectators, animals, rockslides, and even vehicles can easily slow the player's character or cause a massive bone-breaking collision.

Extras abound in Downhill Domination. Some extras (such as new courses, bonus characters, and character-specific videos) are unlocked by continually winning. Others, however, can be purchased in the Bike Shop. Some of these extras provide cool visual effects, while others provide a means to customize the gaming experience to some extent. Some bonus levels can be purchased, such as the Moshbowl. Non-character videos can also be purchased, and better bikes can be purchased as well. However, the player should not expect to simply win a handful of races and be able to acquire the best buyable extras in the game; A LOT of time and numerous races are required to obtain the best extras.

One area where Downhill Domination truly stands out, however, is the game manual. Rarely is a game manual as informative about the tiny details of the game!!! Tips are scattered throughout the manual, which also details exactly how to unlock (or how much it will cost to purchase) every possible extra in the game. Representative screenshots and excellent artwork fill virtually every page. Finally, the back cover of the game manual lists half of the sixty-four tricks available in the game, providing the player with a handy quick-reference guide which is extremely useful when participating in the Freestyle Career; this same information is located within the game manual as well.

Without a doubt, Downhill Domination is among the top games released in 2003. In the extreme sports genre, only the SSX series (SSX Tricky in particular) is superior and even that is solely due to the personalization of the characters. This will definitely grab and keep a player's attention, and certainly raises the bar for the extreme sports genre.

Now, EA Sports Big must answer the challenge.

I am absolutely shocked that this game did not get more press or a dedicated fan base. This game is fast, fun, and the environments are awesome. The week it came out, the people at the store where I preordered it from were sick of me phoning to ask when it was coming in!!!

Choose a character, like Cosmo (from the UK) or Mai (from Japan) and a bike and get riding! You can choose from a variety of careers or just race a single race. Then hope on your bike and start riding!

Characters

Other than their name, basic stats, and country of origin, there isn't a lot to know about the characters. You have the opportunity to unlock additional characters, including real-life downhill pro riders. (Is it just me, or does Lisa Lopes look like Xena on steroids?)

Story

This game doesn't have a story, so much as it has different racing courses for you to unlock. The range of available courses is amazing. It includes:

* Mt. Liddleroch in the Scottish highlands, complete with castles and monks

* Mt. Zorkovaska in Russia, with snow and military bases

* Red Pass in USA, modeled after the beautiful rock features one can find in states like Utah

Although there isn't a ''mission'', the game has an awesome range of careers: Mountain Cross, Freeride, Arcade, Race, Technical, and more!

You can also upgrade your bicycle in the Bike Shop, which provides a wide range of tires, shocks, and frames. The Shop also provides a list of your sponsors (which you acquire the more you achieve in each of the various careers). You can also buy Extras, some of which can greatly enhance your biking stats!

Graphics and Sound

Wow, wow, wow. For a title that listed at $39.99 at its release, the graphics are far better than I imagined. No slowdown, no loading times within levels, and great detail on both the characters and the environments.

I usually hate the ''popular'' music that accompanies games (with THPS being the rare exception), but the music that comes with DD is far better than I expected. I usually mute the music on racing games, but this game is enhanced by the soundtrack.

Will This Gather Dust?

There are a lot of things to unlock in this game -things that I will not spoil the surprise with in this review. It has a high replay value for me, as I play it at least an hour or so a week, even 4 months after its release.

Overall Recommendation:

If you like downhill sports racing (Freekstyle, SSX, Amped, 1080), you'll like this.

If you like tight controls and cool tricks, you'll like this.

If you like realistic sports simulations, you'll like this.

Best Deals for Downhill Domination

Downhill mountain biking is relentlessly fast, extremely dangerous, and not for the faint of heart. Same goes for Downhill Domination, which delivers more frantic speed thrills than most extreme games. It's neither inaccurate nor an insult to call Downhill Domination "SSX on dirt." Not only do players choose one of 14 characters and careen down 27 enormous international mountains while busting tricks, smacking opponents, and collecting power-ups, but the controls are nearly identical, too. All stunts are performed with the shoulder buttons plus Triangle as a modifier (and it's not always comfortable). As you earn cash, you'll upgrade your bike and unlock goodies. Downhill Domination features an incredible sensation of speed and a canted camera that will make you leave your stomach at the top of the mountain. Narrow trails, treacherous terrain, and the fast gameplay really ratchet up the tension-it's hard to keep up, and you almost forget to do tricks in the mad scramble to stay upright. Avoiding polar bears, mountain goats, hikers, vehicles, and maybe even a sasquatch or two is all part of the frantic fun. Less enjoyable is the amazingly blatant product placement-bike brands like Trek and Specialized make sense, but while you pedal, billboards for online auction sites and energy bars peddle under the guise of earnable sponsorships. Gamers will tire of it quickly, along with the repetitive voice quips and lackluster music-whee, rap about bicycles! Action-sports junkies should at least rent Downhill Domination to experience its admirably difficulty and teeth-rattling sense of chaos. It's not for the weak.

Honest reviews on Downhill Domination

Downhill domination is one of the best games I have ever played in my life. After you get past the menu (I had a little trouble starting a new game with a character) and choose from one of many different games such as a single event, like a race; the superjump; a career; and a mosh bowl (do I need to explain?) you enter the bike shop where you start the game by choosing a brand-name, real-life bike, from a well-known manufacturer such as Specialized, GT, Giant, and Karpiel; buy special unlocks with the money you make racing opponents, winning races, etc.; view your sponsors and "resume'," and customize bikes with a wide variety of brand-name parts.

From there you can choose from one of nine mountains, each with three different tracks, and then start throwing yourself off cliffs hundreds of feet tall and speeding down rocky trails in speeds excess of sixty miles per hour. Earn points by doing tricks, modifying them in hundreds of ways, and knocking opponents off bikes by kicking, checking, and hitting them with homing water bottles.

I will say it one more time, this is one of the greatest games I have ever played. I highly reccomend you discover this game for yourself, it is worth it.

Other reviews have covered a lot of ground reviewing this excellent game.

I would like to add one point:

As a casual gamer, I often get frustrated with games as I don't have the time to learn dozens of controls, nor have the dexterity I once did. Plus, too often games get frustrating and I get stuck or bored by being forced to re-do too much when I fail at a mission.

This game is excellent in the sense that it is just hard enough. Yes, I played it on Easy mode, and I amazed more games don't have this. Gives hints, just hard enough, and when I have to re-do something, 90% it doesn't go back too far where I get bored and frustrated.

This was one of the most fun games I have played in a long time. (And I finished it too, which is pure joy.)

I hope other publishers follow this trend. People in their 30's often have the money to drop 50-60 bucks on a game, but too often we are ignored by publishers by making the games too hard.

Nathan Drake is not typical of characters you see in videogames much lately. Nate doesn't look like he pumps iron, he won't win any sexiest man alive awards, and his unassuming ways make him enjoyable. Of course you may recognize the name Drake for the famous explorer Sir Francis Drake. Yes Nate is related to the famous explorer and now he is off to find the mysterious El Dorado(City of Gold). To say the least the journey will be unforgettable to most.

The story starts off more like a movie. On this quest you are accompanied by an attractive documentarian Elena and of course your comrade Sullie. What sets Uncharted apart from some many games is the cinematic approach is so seemless it makes it hard to seperate gameplay from movie watching. As your journey progresses you begin to realize you have many enemies. It seems Sullie doesn't live the cleanest life and borrowing money from a bad guy doesn't help. So now the bad guys are out to collect the debt by finding El Dorado. Although it becomes apparent that El Dorado is not a city of gold but a man of gold.

Without getting too much into the story it will definately leave you filling your aderaline need. The gameplay is incredible in this game. The enemy A.I. starts off slow and quickly progresses as you get further into this game. Enemies will actually out manuever you. If you don't plan out your attacks well you will find yourself dead. Although the battles are not the only thing you face in this game there are a number of puzzles that are not overlly difficult. What I do enjoy about this game is that it has a hint option. You can use it to help you in confusing spots. Although if you are more hardcore you will probably leave this option off. There are four difficulty levels and the toughest option is locked until you beat the game on hard. What is a first for a PS3 game is the reward system that is being used. There are 60 treasures that can be found througout your journey. On top of that there are objectives that you can try to complete. Some are simple like killing a certain amount of enemies with one of your weapons and others are more complex like getting a certain amount of stealth kills.

The visuals in this game are stunning and some of the best I have ever seen. What is good to watch is the incredible amount of detail put into everything. The jungle environments are lush and beautiful and the water effects are some of the best ever. Sometimes it is enjoyable just to stand and enjoy the beauty of the environment. Tree branches sway, clouds move, and leaves fly all over the place. This is as close to reality as I have seen.

If you own a PS3 this game is a must buy. To say the least it is one of the best games available on any console. The storyline is enjoyable and reminiscent of many great adventure movies. Uncharted sets a new bar on next gen games and hopefully others will follow with this excellent quality. If you like action and adventure and don't mind being the star of a playable movie then Uncharted should be on your list.

Uncharted is the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. The game-play is flawlessly implemented. There is an excellent balance between fun platforming and third person shooting with the best cover system I've seen in a game. In my opinion the cover system in Uncharted works better than Gears of War.

Visually this is the best looking console game ever made. Hands down, no question. As someone who enjoys immersion in games, I've never had a better experience with a video game.

Have you ever wanted to play a GOOD Indiana Jones game? Well, this is that game. The world, style, and humor is straight out of Indiana Jones. So you have a game set in a world that is much like Indiana Jones, and it just happens to have some of the best game play I've experienced in any game on any console. If you own a PS3, you simply must buy this game. If you don't, I feel sorry for you. If you don't own a PS3, you should buy one to play this game, and pick up Ratchet and Clank while you're at it. You will not be disappointed.

Honest reviews on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - Playstation 3

I wasn't buying into the hype for this game as I was focusing on Assassins Creed... Two days later I went to return the unplayable-glitchy-pile-of-digital-crap that was Assassins Creed and needed something to get the bad taste out, so I bought this figuring there's nothing better right now.

This game is absolute blast. I won't go into details you can read them everywhere else. I'll just say that graphics are beautiful, story is engaging in an Indiana Jones type way, but the BEST PART: the enemies are SMART (I'm playing this on normal difficulty)! Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. Combat also requires thinking on your part you will not be picking up 200 rounds of ammo of each dead enemy, so you actually have to think before you shoot. The cover system is also great. You can't just duck behind a stone, as the enemy will flank you immediately. You have to keep moving and constantly be aware of where your enemies are. Long story short you can not advance in the game by just running down the middle in spraying hundreds of rounds of ammo you will have to develop tactics.

To keep the game from being repetitive, there's a very big platform and puzzle element (although puzzles have been kind of easy so far). But all of this works really well.

In short, I would recommend this over any PS3 title that's out there right now.

I

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is one of the most complete, immersive, and outright FUN games I have ever played. It is a remarkably fluid game, that transitions seamlessly from pulse-pounding action to epic exploration, all tied together in a fantastic cinematic style. The game is relentlessly entertaining and delivers the goods on EVERY level, with some fantastic twists leading up to a truly satisfying finale. It was with some regret that I watched the ending credits roll, but now I get to go through the game again! (It took roughly 12 hrs to complete on the "Hard" difficulty -finishing on Hard unlocks the "Crushing" difficulty).

Gameplay is where Uncharted really shines. Since you are constantly doing and seeing new things (there are some truly dazzling set-pieces), there is never a "grinding" feeling to the game that too many action games seem to have these days. What surprised me most is the fact that not only does Uncharted succeed as an adventure game (you will visit all sorts of exotic locales and climb cliffs, scale walls, etc.), but is also a great action game in its own right with a well-designed and balanced combat system. The game features both gun-play as well as viscerally thrilling melee combat. Unlike the Tomb Raider series, the gun play requires some skill (there is only 'limited' auto-aim) and has a lot of depth. The different weapons are fun to use, and you are forced to make some tactical choices due to the fact that you can only carry around two weapons (plus grenades) at a time. The enemy AI is pretty intelligent and will sit back or aggressively charge/flank you depending on your own posturing.

The story line is well written and neatly ties the whole package together. Let's be clear -the story is not the Next Great American Novel. What it IS is the best of adventure pulp fiction, rolled together with some faux historical intrigue a la the Da Vinci Code. Most importantly, all the characters in the game are likable and deliver some good laughs in the process. Note: the game is rated "Teen" and deservedly so without any spoilers, there is some content that would likely be pretty disturbing for younger children.

The graphics and audio are top-notch and well-polished, which adds greatly to the immersive feeling of the game. The whole world feels alive trees sway in the wind, fish swim in the ponds, ambient noises are well balanced by heroic in-game contextual music. Close attention has been paid to details: Nathan Drake (the character you play) will grit his teeth and mutter under his breath when bullets go whizzing by him, if he is too close to a concussive blast you will hear the ringing in his ears as the other sounds fade out. The level designs in Uncharted are also amazing. While the game play is linear (story-driven), the world still feels expansive and the architecture of the various ruins, castles, etc. are beautiful and allow for plenty of exploration (you can find treasures hidden throughout the game that allow you unlock various extras in the game).

The unlockable extras and the built-in rewards system make the game well-worth replaying as well. In summary, this is a terrific game that shouldn't be missed. I can't wait for Uncharted 2!

First off, this is an amazing arcade stick with great packaging. You can also mod this stick. There are quite a few resources on the net about this. do a search for Art's Hobbies and Joystick in google to find out.

If you're reading this review, and wondering, is this stick worth the price, the answer is yes. It's a really expensive stick, that's for sure, but you get what you pay for. If you're a retrogamer like me and you spend hours playing not only fighting games but Pac-Man CE, Afterburner Climax, Final Fight DI, etc for the latest consoles, then you owe it to yourself to pick up one.

The Sanwa buttons aren't concave like how you remember most US arcade machines, they are japanese styled, but this actually makes them faster to use, and you won't regret it after using it. They're very light and sensitive. It does take some getting used to to convert from a pad to this stick, but you'll be happy you did.

As far as the square gate goes, it didn't really give me any problems with QCF/QCB type moves. You just have to give it a bit to get used to it. The sticks look really great in your house when you have friends over, and if you're enterprising you can toss the artwork and get artwork in there that is done custom (will probably void warranty tho). I imagine all kinds of players might want a PacMan, Robotron, Afterburner, Outrun, or even Taito Viewlix designs on there.

You can get really nice custom sticks out there for around 200 dollars, so if price isn't a concern you might want to support your community instead of a corporation, but on the other hand you have it all right here. The price and availability does seem to fluctuate alot, so waiting might get you a cheaper stick.

To sum up, if you want quality but can't afford it, put 20 dollars a week aside and in a little over a month you can invest in this stick which will last a long time, and will surely be worth it if you are into playing games the way they were meant to be played and not with the abomination of modern console pads.

Very good stick very responsive, you barely even have to touch a button for it to engage. well balanced doesn't move around alot, if at all. Will take some time getting use to if you are converting from a game pad. I recommend the stick to a serious gamer, if your just having fun and not serious about street fighter or any fighter this isn't the route for you!! but if you are you will be completely satisfied!!

While the internals are the same as the previous TE sticks, the smaller form factor (yet same weight) makes it far more manageable for players who keep their sticks in the lap. If you don't have a stick yet, this is the way to go.

Honest reviews on Mad Catz Mad Catz Super Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick

Certainly this stick is a little pricey but in the end it is worth it. The design is heavy duty and will last for a TON of fights. It is also modable which makes it an even better value. Most Hori sticks will run you about the same amount of money or more and won't be as durable or have as responsive buttons. Best stick I've ever owned and Madcatz will be my source for all my future fightstick purchases.

I have to admit, Madcatz has come one hell of a long way. They did a great job with the rockband instruments and the "tournament edition" and "S-Series" fight sticks are really nice right out of the box. The Sanwa sticks they use are great, but I don't know what kind of gate they're using on these as I can't say I've ever taken an S-Series apart, but I have one of the tournament edition sticks they released when Soulcalibur 4 came out and it had a really awful tiny octagonal gate that actually snapped on me during an online match. Not a very good feature on a $249.99 stick...I called Madcatz and they did offer to repair it and pay shipping both ways, but I wanted a better gate on it as it was my primary stick at the time, so they actually told me to overnight whatever gate I wanted and submit a receipt for reimbursal. The gate itself was like $14USD plus $21USD for overnight shipping from Japan...this was shortly before parts for sticks became readily available on US sites and in some of the higher end game shops around Baltimore.

I finally managed to get my hands on a brand new HRAP about six months later, they were ridiculously rare around that time and again when SFIV came out. I ordered a set of concave flush mount Sanwa buttons in purple and charcoal grey and a top end Sanwa stick along with it, tried it stock for a week and enjoyed it, then took the ninety minutes to mod it out and fell in love. A friend of mine swore the S series was much better than the Hori and loaned me his for a couple of weeks to compare them...anyone who's ever modded a stick or is very serious about their controllers knows it's impossible to know your preference until you put some time in on a stick and learn the feel of it, and I did fall in love with the S Series, just not as far in love as with my Hori. Part of it might be the fact that I'm a little older (35) and have terrible arthritis in my hands from the time I spent in the Army firing the early .50 cal semiauto sniper rifles as well as other high caliber precision marksman long guns, and I honestly think having the concave buttons makes things easier on my hands. Either way you can't go wrong and I can honestly say this is a damned good stick.

We've played Rockband and Guitar Hero, but always wanted something that aligned with the music that we like to listen to. The music selection varied from classics to some current and there is the option to unlock more in career mode, but we didn't get that far yet. We had a blast competing to see who was the best. This was a hit in our house

As a fan of music with hip-hop as my favorite genre, I felt that this game was a must own. This game although bare bones provides hours and hours of fun whether alone or with friends. Songs in this game are accompanied by their video counterpart and the objective of the game is to either rap the words correctly or in certain parts carry a note or two.

There are three modes in this game(Career,Party,Freestyle) and I'll start first with career.

In career mode there are five stages in which you rap several songs in an attempt to earn five mics on each song(Mics are used as a grading scale and five is the highest). Also thrown on each stage are challenges where you may have to rap a new song to unlock it in party mode, rap through several videos at a time, rap a couple verses and correctly say every word without messing up or rap to earn a multiplier as quicly as possible. The bulk of the game's 40+ songs are in this mode. By earning mics you unlock songs, freestyle beats, and bonuses to edit your video with. I enjoyed this mode but it was pretty short and bare. It felt like party mode except in a different place. I would have loved to see a type of story woven into it and better unlockables such as interviews or history on Def Jam.

Party mode once everything in career mode is completed will contain every song in the game. This mode is for the everyone that wants to relax or start the party up by making a playlist of songs and rapping them. Downloaded songs from the XBL Marketplace or the PSNetwork will show up here.

Freestyle mode allows you to rap to beats from some of the rap universe's hottest beat makers. Normally beats average around 3 mins. However you can only upload 30 seconds online where people will see your videos and rate out of 5 stars. You can also download more beats.

In closing this game is a great first attempt. Although online isn't where it should be or the core modes are kinda bare, this game sets some stable ground for Konami and Def Jam to build a great franchise on. Purchase this.

first off, you don't need to buy the rapstar bundle w/ the mic. any wired mic will work.

what i'm mad at is why are we just now getting games like Def Jam Rapstar now? after all the guitar hero's, rock bands, Lips, we're just now finally catering to hip hop. just like the DJ Hero 1 & 2. just now finally catering to the dj world and hip hop. dang, it's about time..

this game is great. finally one for us hip hop fans. if you're expecting to do some singing, you won't find much except some Drake songs. if you're looking for a challenge, Public Enemy's "Fight The Power" is a hard track to rap.

def a great party game. you can play against other ppl. game has alot of other cool things you can do too.

downside is, this will tire you out, unless you're a natural born rapper. i got tired after 2 hours. so you're not going to beat this one fast.

great game, but i wouldn't pay more then $40 for it.

And addictive. My wife, friends, and I play this late into the night and have a lot of fun doing co-op performances as well as head-to-head. I haven't yet tried out the battle mode yet or recording my own videos although I'm sure I'd look incredibly awkward. I do wish there was some Jay-Z and Eminem but perhaps they'll have their own editions like Metallica, Green Day, and Aerosmith do for the guitar games. You can purchase some songs from the marketplace to expand the fairly lacking 40 or so songs (which is really my only gripe not enough songs).

I know I'll catch some grief here but I do not really enjoy doing the old school rap songs. I know it's pretty much a sin to say that anything old school is less than spectacular because we like to pretend that things were better back in the day but the old school selections on here simply aren't fabulous.

All in all I still give this game five stars because they do a good job of delivering a quality product with enough diversity to have something for everyone's tastes.

After reading some great reviews of this game, I had high hopes of being able to use it with my boys in 2nd and 3rd grade to help reinforce their math skills. Neither of them seemed enthusiastic about it, so I sat down myself to give it a try.

I went to the 3rd grade multiplication section, and immediately had issues with it. It shows you a grouping of objects (such as five groups of four playing cards), and has a space to enter both the addition answer (4+4+4+4+4=20) as well as the multiplication which was where I first found problems. I entered "4x5=20." The vampire shook his head no. What? Has it really been that long since I did multiplication? I tried it again "4x5=20." Still no. So I switched it up "5x4=20." Oh, NOW the vampire said I had it right. Why on earth would I not want to reinforce the idea that 4x5 is going to be the same as 5x4?

Next I went to the time section, and again got the vampire shaking his head over what was a correct answer I just somehow didn't enter it in the order he wanted it! I'm sorry, but if it's confusing and frustrating to me, I'm not going to inflict it on my kids! I'd return it if I could.

I bought this game after successfully convincing my daughter to play "Personal Trainer: Math". Compared to the later, "Learn Math" is very colorful and school-friendly. Unfortunately the game has somewhat poor code execution. The result: an unresponsive game which gives little feed back. Most buttons have to be clicked in a very small area and the place to click seems randomly distributed. It would have been nicer if the pieces were to be dragged in place than clicked. If you answer a question wrong the mascot only shakes his head but does not offer a feedback. Toggling around the fill-in spaces is horrible and surprisingly it does not take any inputs from cursor buttons of console. Nevertheless, the game must be praised for fairly high standard of problems. However I have modified my previous review because the game has managed to keep my child motivated and she has not been put off by the quirks of the game. She enjoys playing it though our favorite remains "Personal Trainer: Math". I wished the developers could fix the technical aspects of this game.

I bought this game for my 6yr old son. Given the choices of problems available, I'd say the game is a great fit. However, the lack of feedback from the game doesn't allow a kid to learn from its mistakes. For example, the game asks the child to calculate the results of 10 additions (one number remains the same and has to be added to 10 different numbers 3+1 =4, 3+5= 8,...). So, when the kid does all the calculations correct, the game acknowledges that. However, if one or multiple answers were incorrect, the game just says that this was wrong. It doesn't tell which calculations were incorrect or what the correct answers would have been. Similarly, the game only acknowledges a correct answer if it has been entered in a certain way. As another reviewer pointed out here, you have to enter a multiplication in the right order without the game telling you what the right order is. So, the game accepts 5x4=20 as correct, but claims that 4x5=20 is incorrect. The same issue appears in puzzle games. If you have to create a shape out of smaller shapes, the game seems to expect that you come up with one very specific solution even though there are several possible solutions to the problem.

Needless to say, the game was "played" a few times and never touched again.

I hated math when I was a kid and I was not so good at it, either. Now, I use math in my job every day. Some of my co-workers are better at doing numbers in their heads than I am, which is why I bought this game. If you do some math drills, you will get better! And you will not need a calculator for everything. I've been using the game a few times a week, whenever I have a little spare time. The drills are fun, they are repetitive enough to help you improve, but not so repetitive as to be boring. It is a fun and interesting challenge to see how many problems you can get right and to work up the levels. As a professional instructor, I think this game will actually teach you something worthwhile. This game is suitable for kids ages 10 and up and also for adults who need to keep their job skills competitive.

Great game, entertaining and educational. I am using it to help my granddaughter get a head start for 2nd grade. It worked wonderfully on vacation. Kept her occupied on a 8 hour drive.

Reviews of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Zap

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Zap

We just got the Skylanders game/set for Christmas, and it has quickly become a family obsession. This game has been a lot of fun, and something my 7 year old, my husband, AND I have all enjoyed playing together.

Zap was one of the first characters we purchased outside of the starter kit, and he came in a 3 character pack that also included Hex and Dino Rang (will review those characters separately).

Zap is a Water Dragon of the Water Element. His starting abilities include:

* Health: 260

* Speed: 50

* Armor: 24

* Critical Hit: 30

* Elemental Power: 25

His primary power (A Button) allows him to breathe bursts of electricity. His secondary power (B Button) allows him to leave a trail of sea slime behind him that enemies can get stuck in. The trail is temporary and only lasts a few minutes. He's a decent character, not the fastest runner, but not super slow either. And of course, being a water character means that he can swim, which allows him access to some areas that other characters can't get to.

Now, all of this is BEFORE any upgrades. Once you've collected enough gems, coins, and other treasure, you can use these to trade in to Persephone the Fairy (once you find her) in exchange for Character Upgrades. Character upgrades give you options to improve Primary and Secondary abilities, and to even add a Tertiary ability.

Some of Zap's upgrades include: increasing his Primary Power to shoot his electricity blasts further and do increased damage, and increasing his Secondary Power (Sea Slime) to electrify the slime trail and zap enemies that get caught in it (this one is my favorite of Zap's upgrades). Then there is also a Tertiary Ability (Z Button) that you can add on once you have accumulated enough points: the Wave Rider Ability. This allows Zap to create and ride a big wave that sort of mows down attackers in it's path. It also allows Zap to move over distances more quickly which makes for a nice bonus there too.

All things considered, Zap is a decent addition to your Skylander collection.

This was a Christmas gift for an 11 year old boy. He says he loves it and based on the amount of time he has spent on it, I believe him! Bought the starter pack too, both were a better price than anywhere in town and I loved having it delivered to my door quickly instead of dealing with holiday crowds.

If you want a really fun character, Zap is your critter!

Starting off with an electric bolt spit, and a stunning power slide ((Think of a snail slime trail, that stuns enemies for you to slaughter them)) Zap leads the way to power-housing most of the game. He also shocks anything that gets close to him, giving you a light edge to whatever draws near.

I've had a blast playing with friends using him. :) I'm sure you will too.

Honest reviews on Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Zap

Take a look at Zap. He looks cool, doesn't he? A little blue dragon with big horns, wearing some kinda scuba suitthat's certainly a cool design. But when you start to use the guy in Skylanders, it's clear that Zap's going to need a heck of a lot of stat upgrades to be of much use. What really bites is that Gill Grunt, one of the Skylanders that comes with the game, outclasses Zap in every possible way. Who would've guessed that about what most would assume is a lower level character? I think Zap and Gill Grunt should've switched roles, with Gill Grunt being the one available in character packs or on his own.

It's hard to say much good about Zap apart from the design. The one thing he has going for him is speed. Zap is very fast, with one of his moves being a 'sea slime' move that propels him forward, leaving a trail of slime behind that stuns and damages enemies. This will be your main way of getting around because it's so quick, and navigating through levels is a breeze.

And that about does it for the pros! What's so bad about Zap, you might be asking? While I did say in my review of the Skylanders game that there's no such thing as a bad Skylander...that every one is good in their own way, I still stand by that. But compared to all the others, Zap is at the bottom of the barrel. His two main powers are a lightning bolt shock that he can shoot, and the sea slime rush. The lightning bolts are incredibly weak and only worth using if you choose to upgrade this attack as fast as possible. If you're in an area with a lot of enemies, there's a good chance that by the time you've killed one of them, the others will have ganged up on you. Your best bet is to slide around with the sea slime move while shooting or play tag with the enemies. Zap's unique move that makes use of the circle button on the ps3, is basically the same thing as the sea slime move, but with a water shield in front of Zap that lets him attempt to plow through enemies. Of all the things they could've given him...this was the best they could do. Great. On top of this, Zap has very lower HP, making him prone to dying quickly by those enemies or obstacles that hit repeatedly. Finally, his Soul Gem ability lets him recover HP while in water. Yeah, I'm sure that'll come in handy for all those levels that don't have a whole lot of water.

But if you go through all of the Challenges to boost Zap's stats as far as they can go, he can be a pretty decent character. That's if you're willing to invest the time though. If you're looking for another water type, I'd suggest any of the others instead.
