Works extremely well. Never have to worry about batteries again! Induction charge is nice, but you still need to place in the cradle ... So not a distinguishing feature. Still, gets the job done fast and simple.

Discount Rapid Charge Induction Station Black for Xbox 360
Works great, even after the length of time since I bought it! The batteries don't seem to work very long for over-extended playing (as in more than 3 hours) but switching between two controllers doesn't bother me too much. :D definitely saves on the AA battery costs though!

My son is 6 and it is sometimes difficult to find games that are fun, challenging and at the same time easy enough for him to play himself. This game is not only fun for both of us, but it's challenging in a way that is not too hard for him nor too easy for me. We enjoy playing together and helping each other through the levels. Graphics and controls are great. The game is creative with fun "extras" to find that will make you laugh. My favorite part is the text boxes. My son doesn't have to call me into the room every 5 minutes to read the text for him because the game reads it outloud for him! Great feature!! We loved the movie and will enjoy the game for months to come!
Also, the gameplay is terrible. The camera angles are very limited. You can't even look up. The left-right movement is twitchy, it makes it hard to do a double-jump straight ahead.

I'm having trouble at the very beginning of the game, and I've solved some hard games. This certainly is not going to be fun for my son. Also, the gameplay is terrible. Wreck-It Ralph - Nintendo Wii Review

I thought that a movie based on a fake video game based on real video games was a great idea, and that turned out to live up to all its potential. I thought that a video game based on a movie based on a fake video game based on real video games had real potential; this game lived up to none of it.
I was going to offer a well thought-out review for this game, but this review is only going to reciprocate how much effort was put into developing this game.
The game starts with Wreck-It Ralph narrating the game the voice actor isn't even John C. Reilly. This is the first disappointment of the game, and the disappointments never stop from there. Before actually getting into gameplay, the opening scene completely blows the end of the "Wreck It Ralph" movie's storyline, so if you haven't seen the movie yet, beware of a spoiler before playing this game.
After they spoil a 2-hour movie in 45 seconds, you finally get into the gameplay. The gameplay is awful: the difficulty is never raised, there's only 12 levels in the game (each level takes about 5 minutes to complete), and 4 bosses (each of which take about 2 minutes to beat). The gameplay is extremely repetitive and completely lacks novelty. The graphics are cheap not "NES cheap," which would actually be kind of retro but cheap like "I paid $5 for this game" cheap. Except, the thing is, I didn't pay $5 for this game. I paid $40. The iOS "Wreck-It Ralph" counterpart is a better game than this, and that only costs 99 cents.
Despite being able to play as Fix-It Felix and Wreck-It Ralph throughout the game, it's only a 1-player game. The movie featured first-person shooting, arcade-style play, and racing. This game offers none of that. Instead, you just go around punching cy-bugs until you find the exit for the level. Along the way, you try and gather Hero's medals which do absolutely nothing for you. They don't even keep track of how many you've collected.
I sat down to play this game because I had a couple hours to kill, and figured I'd try and put a dent into beating the game. Instead of putting a dent into the game, I completely beat the game and "unlocked" all the secrets in well-under 2 hours. That's right, the movie itself takes longer to watch than it does to beat its video game counterpart.
I can't believe I spent $40 on this game. If you're thinking about buying this game, instead use your $40 to buy 4 tickets to see "Wreck It Ralph." It's a quality movie, but its video game is anything but. I'm disappointed in everyone that was involved in this game. They should be ashamed of themselves. And as disappointed as I was initially in John C. Reilly for passing on doing the voice acting for this game, now I understand why.
If you still want to get this game after the low stars it received in all of the reviews so far, then rent it from a Redbox etc, you won't be wasting $40. This is a $10 game at best. It will probably be a Black Friday special but don't get it unless it is super cheap, your kids won't thank you at all.
As a platform game alone, I like it. Its not one of those games that makes it impossible to advance to the next level unless you have perfect hand-eye coordination. Its easy enough to be fun but not so easy that it's boring.
But I must say that it is extremely disappointing that the games shown in the movie were not even attempted in the movie version of the game. In fact, you can go to the movie website and play limited versions of 3 of the popular games shown in the movie. If you are looking for the movie games, save your money and go to the Disney website. If you like platform games, it's cute and not too bad.
The game is supposed to take place straight after the movie's plot, but it IS possible to avoid spoiling the movie, right? Unfortunately, Activision refused to try. Within the first seconds after starting a new game, the ending of the movie is instantly spoiled. But since I'm so nice, I won't spoil it for this review. However, I will have to mention that the Cybugs, one of the few conflicts in the movie, is THE WHOLE CONFLICT here in this game for some reason. I don't want to think of Wreck-It Ralph as a series about hideous bugs. I want to think of the series as a love letter to gamers!
Anyway, that was all presented in this cute little CGI-animated intro which has mistakes such as a lack of textures in one scene and Felix having miscolored hair. Activision sure rushed THIS out the door. BUT GUESS WHAT? Wait til you see what the actual game looks like!
Oh GOD did things go downhill! The graphics look like they were created for the Sega 32x. They are downright awful, and the music totally accompanies them by playing a short loop of a song that would only sound nice the first few times. And now for what we've been waiting for: The gameplay mechanics.
Let's just say this is one of the most uninspired platformers I've played yet. Throughout, I am treated with really generic levels that only make the already not-so-great gameplay just plain boring and repetitive. Nothing in any of these levels truly stand out (Other than that one and only Super Mario Bros reference in the "Hero's Duty" world). The combat in the game is clumsy. It feels very tedious when it takes some time for Ralph to throw a punch or Felix to wield his hammer (Which, by the way, somehow kills enemies instead of fixing them). By the way, you know how I mentioned that the Cybugs are the main conflict in this game? Well, they are the ONLY ENEMIES IN THIS GAME, so there's no enemy variety, really.
Not to mention, even with the clumsy combat, the game is beyond easy as a whole. During my first run through the game, not once did I get a Game Over, but rather did I get over 13 lives. The bosses didn't help the difficulty. They were incredibly easy as well.
To think this goes for as long as...an hour and a half?
Yup. This is one of those games with a pretty short length. However, after what you've been through after playing this monstrosity, beating the game in such a short time is rewarding enough.
If you want to see a video game do Wreck-It Ralph justice, play the game that's available on iOS devices for THE PRICE OF A COKE CAN. It's $39/29 less, but 100 times more fun.
The game is super boring. An adult would never be able to tolerate it and a child would quickly become bored with it. My 5 year old has been playing for about 15 minutes now and I think he's waiting for the exciting part. I won't break it to him just yet that this is all he's gonna get.
I realize that this is a throw-back 80s style game but seriously??? The quality and graphics are horrific and perhaps intentionally!!! It predates the quality of the original Nintendo (that is as far back as I know). There are also times in the game where when you die the screen just blacks out for about 20 seconds. I thought that my Wii rebooted...and then it came back.
I loved loved loved the movie and it is sooo unfortunate that this game is such a flop.
Best advice.....Rent it and see for yourself!

Firstly, Wreck It Ralph is a great movie with some great games featured in it this game however is not. It vaguely follows the plot of the movie but AFTER the end of the movie. I don't think the beginning of the game would spoil the movie for you, but if you played this game first BEFORE seeing the movie, you might not even bother to watch the movie because this game is awful. It's nothing like the movie, it's so basic it's ridiculous. It's not even retro as in Dig Dug, Pac Man, Digger Dan etc from the 80's THEY were great games, this is not even particularly playable and it certainly isn't any fun. My 5 year old was bored in about 15 minutes which almost never happens except with a bad game (or in the case of Mario Party 9, they changed the format from single player to all playing in the same vehicle, which ruined that game). If you still want to get this game after the low stars it received in all of the reviews so far, then rent it from a Redbox etc, you won't be wasting $40. This is a $10 game at best. It will probably be a Black Friday special but don't get it unless it is super cheap, your kids won't thank you at all.

The storyline of the video game is that Fix It Felix and Wreck It Ralph have been hired as exterminators to get rid of the Cy-Bugs in the worlds of Wreck It Ralph, Hero's Duty, and Sugar Rush AFTER the end of the movie. The game play is like any 2-D platform game (Super Mario Brothers, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc.) where the character moves from left to right and destroys boxes and collects golden hammers. We were expecting the games from the movie like the first person shooter in Hero's Duty or the go cart game in Sugar Rush. Instead, those locations are only used as the backdrop to the platform game. As a one player game you must switch between the characters of Felix or Ralph to move through levels. As a platform game alone, I like it. Its not one of those games that makes it impossible to advance to the next level unless you have perfect hand-eye coordination. Its easy enough to be fun but not so easy that it's boring.

Honest reviews on Wreck-It Ralph - Nintendo Wii
Wreck-It Ralph has to be one of the most beloved Disney films of recent times. It's a movie that's directed straight to people that have grown up in the 1980s (although it appealed to kids as well), and seen how the arcade game industry has changed overtime. The movie was full of laughs and references, but featured a really deep and thrilling tale of a video game bad guy who wants to get a new name for himself. So what does this game based off the movie based off of games have to offer? Absolutely none of what I just described. Is it possible to give negative stars??? I'm sure that some people want to after actually paying money for this game. Fortunately, I rented mine at Redbox and I'm still mad that I spent $2.The game is super boring. An adult would never be able to tolerate it and a child would quickly become bored with it. The Sims 3: Showtime - PC/Mac Reviews
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $17.97
Today's Bonus: 10% Off

I have to say, I was really excited for this expansion pack (regardless of some of the lackluster packs we've been getting lately). It brought me back to the original Sims: Superstar, one of my favorite original packs. And the Sims 3 has had some good packs out so far (Pets, Ambitions, World Adventures) in my opinion! But Showtime doesn't really cut it.
The new town is nice. I like it. The new premade houses are nice and actually kind of spacious instead of being awkwardly shaped or sized. Some of the job locations are now melded into one big building for instance, say, science and medicine in the same building, not a separate hospital and science institute (that's just an out-of-nowhere example, not factual from the game). It's a little different, but still okay. One thing this town is surely NOT lacking is entertainment venues. Which is, you know, the whole point. I'd give the new town 4/5 stars.
There are some okay new hairstyles and clothing options too. Not the best, but by far not some of the worst I've seen. As far as new traits go, I've only seen three: diva, born performer, and social butterfly. I immediately tried out the diva and social butterfly traits and boy, is social butterfly annoying! If they aren't constantly talking to people, they get a negative moodlet. My sim will wake up and have an automatic negative moodlet just from not talking to people in her sleep. That's a little ridiculous. Diva, I'm enjoying a little more, mainly because of other sims' reactions to my sim's divalicious interactions, haha. Altogether, the new create-a-sim stuff, I'd give 3/5 stars.
The new careers seem interesting, and I was excited to try them out. My only problem is that they're professions not careers. You get a weekly stipend and go out and perform randomly when you get the opportunity. That's not necessarily a bad thing, and for those jobs, I understand it's probably more realistic, but I prefer the jobs to professions. I'd give the new jobs 4/5 stars.
So why did I give the game 3 stars and not 4? Well, it's simple had Late Night and Showtime been combined, I think they would've made a killer expansion pack. As it is, there simply aren't enough new features in Showtime. Some of the items you get in Showtime, I think you should've gotten in Late Night. Had they put the Showtime stuff in with Late Night, everything would've fit perfectly. There's just not enough here to constitute a new expansion pack, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the stuff is cool, and if you're a true fan, like me, you'll buy the game anyways. But be warned it's probably going to be less new stuff and things to explore than you're used to.
Please do better next time EA.
To wrap this up, this expansion pack was disappointing. There are tons of things I would love to sit here and complain about, but I won't. All you're really getting is 3 new careers, some unattractive hairs and clothes, and some objects. I really think EA needs to go back to their roots and make Sims expansions that are actually fun and worth the money. (Or better yet, bring Maxis back!) If not, they will be losing a lot of customers, including me!
Compared to other expansion packs Showtime provides the least amount of bang for your dollar. You get a new town which isn't too shabby. You get a few new jobs which are decent. You also get some cool new things to buy in the game like the pool table and skee ball machine. Sadly though there just isn't anything that stands out when it comes to this expansion pack. The social features are ok but a number of them came with the latest patch anyways. When it comes to clothes and hair there is a mix of junk. Most of them are ugly and you get find much better items online for free. There are also some cool new lifetime rewards but sadly there is only one new character trait.
Overall if you are a hardcore sims fan you'll enjoy this pack. When you consider that EA charges $20 for a new town, upwards of $10 for a single item with new functionality and at least $1 per peice of clothing through their store this pack could be viewed as a value.
Pros: New jobs, some neat social features, decent new items
Cons: Seems like a rehash of Nightlife at times, nothing really sets it apart from other expansions
Watching them do the tricks or juggling is fun...a couple times....but when that's all they do....it's a bore. In the normal Sims game, your Sims can form a band. You'd think the new singer career would fit right in, right? Wrong. A singer is an all alone profession. No duets (unless you get another Sim to sing karaoke with you)...no back up singers, no bands. Just your singer....out there on the stage.
If you singer Sim decides to switch careers to something else...then their singing days are over. Can't sing on any stage or even to their own kids. Other than the also boring karaoke...if you want them to sing....even as a hobby....you have to switch them back to that profession.
Expansion after expansion only adds a few new things to do...that are only fun for a short time. Your Sims basically have nothing else to do during their Sim day. The previous game of Sims 2 seemed to have much more creative people involved with it....this one tends to have people who do 'just enough' and no more. This expansion could have been much better...but they stopped short of producing a great game & instead...settled for just OK.
Disappointing and not worth the $40 price tag. If you can wait....try to hang in there till you can receive a price drop. I purchased my copy at Target because they offered a $10 gift card.

I was so excited to recieve this game, like I always am for every Sims game. I waited for it load and to download the extra venue. After playing the game for about 30 minutes, I realized this game is just a small add off of the hobbies concept. Three new jobs and that's it? I can be part of a band and save $39.99 if I would have skipped this expansion pack and just kept my old ones. I wish EA would come out with a really awesome expansion pack that you can't really live without. I remember how awesome each of the expansion packs for sims 1 were, I even liked the sims 2 expansion packs, but this one was a huge disappointment. After you complete the three jobs, that's it you're done and there's nothing else added, where is the months of fun in that until the next lack-luster expansion pack comes out. I have to say I would love to see an expansion pack like Makin' Magic from Sims 1. I don't care how old that game is, it was the best expansion pack. Please do better next time EA.

Let me just start by saying it's ridiculous how expensive these expansion packs are, and the lack of content you are getting with them. I've been playing The Sims since the very original. The Sims 1 was so much fun, The Sims 2 was great, and now here we have the Sims 3. They are honestly going downhill with each expansion pack. We expect NEW CONTENT with expansion packs, not useless social features. Everyone is wondering "Hmm, why wasn't this stuff included with "Late Night?" Well, allow me to enlighten you. MONEY! Money, money, money. EA is so money hungry that they have to cheap out on these expansion packs, cut content, and then try to sell it back to us. Honestly, it makes me sad. I used to LOVE The Sims, and now I can barely play for more than a half hour without getting bored. These new expansion packs just don't have the same feel as they did with TS2 or even TS1.To wrap this up, this expansion pack was disappointing. There are tons of things I would love to sit here and complain about, but I won't. All you're really getting is 3 new careers, some unattractive hairs and clothes, and some objects. Honestly, once your Sim decides to become one of the 3 professions (acrobat,singer,magician)....all you do with them is have them try out for gigs, perform for tips & then perform at the gigs they booked.Watching them do the tricks or juggling is fun...a couple times....but when that's all they do....it's a bore.

Reviews of PS3 FragFX v.2 Controller with Mouse Pad
Basics: This is a controller, made by Splitfish, specifically for the PS3. It only works on the PS3. You can checkout their site, it is limited but adequate. The basic premise of this controller is to have the right analog stick replaced by a mouse. Obviously, this is to bring PC controls to the PS3. While the mouse could be used for anything, it is clearly an FPS device.
The Fragfx v.2 hooks to the PS3 by a 10 foot USB cord. No Bluetooth here, my friends. The PS3 powers the controller, so the Fragfx v.2 cannot turn on the PS3. The 10ft cord goes into the back of the left-handed "Fragchuck" (I did not invent this term). Also emerging from the back of the Fragchuck, is the cord going to the mouse. You also receive a pretty good mouse pad with your Fragfx V.2, although I ended preferring my lap desk. Anybody hardcore is going to end up on a desk or table.
The mouse is right-handed and optical. R1, R2, and R3 are represented by the left, right and center mouse buttons; with the "start" button behind the center R3 button. The triangle, square, circle, and X buttons are on the left side of the mouse, under your thumb.
The Fragchuck is left-handed. It has an analog stick on top, used most often to represent the left analog stick on the PS3 controller. Think Wii nunchuck with a bunch of extra controls. The D-pad is behind the stick. Also on top of the Fragchuck are the Select and PS buttons. The Fragchuck has 3 front "triggers". The uppermost trigger is the "Frag" button. Under that are L1 and L2. L3 is the top of the analog stick, same as a PS3 controller. On the right side is a sensitivity dial. Finally, the Fragchuck is your sixaxis controller in this setup.
Bells and Whistles: This controller comes with many extra options. The first is the "Frag" button. When you hold this, the sensitivity on the mouse drops and your sight moves only a little with large moves of the mouse. This is to allow you to make sniper shots more easily. The second extra control is the sensitivity dial on the side of the Fragchuck. This was my favorite feature. By adjusting game sensitivity and then the sensitivity dial, you can fine tune exactly how much action you get on the mouse. You can even change it on the fly.
Additionally, the controller will let you set buttons to rapid fire. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion controls, and their calibration. You can "switch" the mouse to represent the left PS3 stick on the fly (the Fragchuck analog stick will represent the right PS3 stick in "switch" mode.) You can flip it to "mouse" mode and use it with the web browser. Finally, you can program the motion control to double as any button except, Frag, PS, Select, and Start.
Functionality: Plugging the Fragfx V.2 in for the first time, I immediately saw how easy it would be to drop the darn thing. Not quite as nice as flopping down on the couch and punching the PS button on a dualshock. The 10ft cord was just about right length, I have to sit pretty far from my sports-bar-obscenity-only-an-American-would-own TV. USB extension cords are cheap, so I do not see this as a problem regardless.
I am a freak because the PS3 is my first console. Mouse and keyboard is what most of you learned FPS on; I was coming at this backwards. It was a bit like learning to drive stick after automatic. Initially a mess, but ultimately a more responsive set up. I noodled around with the browser and a couple of other games, but Killzone 2 was the central game in testing. At first I had the sensitivity way too high and got nauseous when one large mouse move executed a 360. Within 30 minutes, my aim was better with the mouse than it had been with 30 hours on the dualshock. I could now weave about while keeping my sight on a moving target. My firing in general had less of a sweeping quality and stayed on enemy heads more of the time. My effectiveness with the starting assault rifles improved. Keep in mind that improvement for me is NOT Barry Bonds using steroids. This is much more like HIV patients using steroids to maintain muscle mass. I am moving from hopeless to decent, not good to Lazlo-quality sniper. During my initial "plug and go" sessions, it was hard to get the sensitivity to the point where I could turn quickly, yet maintain control of my aim. One or the other would suffer, yet it was still better than a dualshock.
What really made the difference for Killzone 2 was the firmware update from the Splitfish website. It really made the sight less jittery and gave me a smooth feel with the game sensitivity at max and the Fragchuck dial at about 4. I could turn like an F18 in the alleys, yet pull up the sight and plonk off a pretty good burst at somebody's favorite head.
Overall, Fragfx v.2 good. The Frag button works but did not magically make me a sniper god. I am not a General in the game, so sniping was limited to single player and skirmish modes. The dial was my favorite feature, allowing me to adjust to circumstances. I could turn it up when on a fixed gun and cover the area nicely. I could turn it down when engaging via the M82 rifle sight. When I tried going back to the dualshock, I went right back to captain-sweepy-shot. The Fragfx v.2 really let me stay on the target better.
Other Options: I tried the Fragfx V.2 on mouse mode, and it works OK. Honestly, I prefer the regular PS3 controller with a keyboard attached (I like the keyboard, but I do not use the touchpad "feature" on the keyboard, that "feature" is a Goddamned nightmare, I freaking well dare you to get the cursor down from the top of the screen, I freaking well dare you).
I do not really have a game to test "switch" mode. This swaps the mouse and joystick. It looks like it is geared for GTA4 and the like, allowing you to use the mouse for the steering wheel or the gun. I don't think switch mode can fully compensate for left-handed people. Even if you switch, the buttons remain the same. You can't use the mouse left handed, the "shape" buttons are no longer under your thumb.
Reassigning motion control is fun. You can make shaking the Fragchuck do almost anything. After programming, shaking the Fragchuck can throw a grenade, reload, swing a rifle butt, etc. It does not work well for any continuous function, like running. If you get the correct download off of their site, you can remap all buttons... except R3 and L3. I would love to remap L3 into oblivion, but c'est la vie.
More than a year later: This review has been edited now that I have had the thing more than a year. It has good durability, still works great. I managed to yank it accidentally once and L2 popped off, but it popped back in and works like it never happened. Two times I have fired up the system and the mouse has not registered. Restart and everything was kosher, so that it a mighty fine track record.
I still can't tell you if this device will move you from good to God. It moves me from bad to decent. I am old and 14 year-olds literally have 500 milliseconds on me at all times. What are you gonna do? I think some folks want a mouse to make them telepathic and able to aim bot anything they see. No product is going to do that.
The price has come down. My initial review said this was not worth it at 80 bucks but was worth it at 50 bucks. The time has come. The cost is similar to a dualshock and this makes a far more interesting backup controller. Give it a shot. Even if you splurge for a XIM and PC and fragenstein setup, if you suck you will still likely suck.
The product works as advertised (no software necessary) and feels very close to using a mouse for FPS games on the PS3. The mouse and the left grip controller are very light weight and made of very cheap plastic. The mouse is optical, not laser. I cannot even compare this product to a real gaming mouse like the Logitech G5 or the Copperhead, they're in completely different leagues. However, the Fragfx will definitely feel more comfortable to use for gamers coming from the pc gaming platform over to the world of playstation.
Splitfish claims that you can have the DS3 controller and the Fragfx plugged in simultaneously. However, I found that if the original controller is connected, plugging in the Fragfx will not automatically work; it will only recognize the left grip controller and not the mouse. You must first turn off the Sony controller completely (not just unplug it) and then connect the Fragfx, and push the ps button on the Fragfx: THEN the mouse will be recognized and you're good to go.
The Fragfx v.2 can be programmed as advertised, and now has a rapid fire feature (usually called a turbo) that allows you to fire a single shot weapon as if it were a machine gun. However, please note that COD4 and COD5 have disabled this feature in the game, so don't be shocked if your G3 only fires one shot per second with the turbo/rapid fire turned on. Besides, we don't want to be cheating now do we?
Overall, I'm very pleased with the concept of combining a mouse with a controller. It's a brilliant idea! I just wish it was made better and used laser instead of optical technology in the mouse. If you're frustrated with the DS3 sony controller and hate using joysticks, this is a great alternative until something better comes out.
Update Aug 9th 2009: Disappointing

They claim that the tweak utility works in Windows Vista...
I've been playing around with the "tweak utility" program available on the Splitfish website. Splitfish claims that this utility allows the user to remap the buttons and adjust the button pressure...
Well no matter what I did, I could not get it to save the new button arrangements to the fragfx. Not only that, but every time I click on the tab for the button pressure adjustment feature, my entire computer becomes unresponsive, and I have to force a reboot. I tested this on Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit: it just doesn't appear to work at all.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Splitfish has released any updates for this product since my first review: The tweak utility is still in beta, and the firmware hasn't changed either. I'm very disappointed as I desperately need to change the buttons for certain games.
The easy method
use a fine screw driver and gently and slowely scrape the black substance from the terminals making sure not to remove the underlying contact. Re assemble and adjust your sensitivity to 5 10 for active. Now every time you hit the button your sensitivity is full and you wont have any issues however you loose pressure sensitivity on that button (i only preformed this on my left button because of some games utilizing pressure sensitivity and left is shoot)
The expert method (which i prefer because i like tacticle click of a mouse)
after removing the black band proceed to your electornic supply store (most likely not a radioshack) and purchase a surface mount momentary tac switch. (lowest ms recovery possible) all you need is a two terminal no need for a third ground. also make sure the base is non conductive. all you want is two conductive leads. This switch should match the general size of the rubber push button piece minus the little nub that goes in the button post. if you go too small you will need to rig up something to extend the post too big and you wont be able to re assemble the mouse. Solder this to the terminals (going from left of the buttons 3 terminals) 2 & 3 . Re assemble the mouse and now you have a clicking button where you put the switch. This will work on all buttons in the mouse however you will loose pressure sensitivity.
You will need to adjust the minimum pressure because now it will have residual conductivity and will show pressure. Just adjust for the 5 10 range and you will be set.

Version 2 special edition is much better.
I have been keeping an eye on the Frag FX since first hearing about it and all the issues with the V1. I held off on making the purchase simply because of all the negativity that I would hear about the controller.
Killzone 2:
When I got the Frag FX V2 I plugged it in and immediatly setup a skirmish in Killzone2. I played with the adjustements until I found a smooth setting that gave me fairly quick turning. I have found that killzone is a pretty bad game to test this controller because it appears that GG designed the game to make it difficult to use this type of controller.
This controler increased my ability to aim while on the run and to hit targets that were on the run. I noticed that if I had someone behind me I had trouble spinning fast enough due to the "weighted" design of the game.
Bioshock:
I then put in Bioshock and I can see how this controller is designed to work now. I had a lot of fun playing with this controller in Bioshock and I am finally decided that it would be enjoyable to work on the survivor difficulty.
Once I got everything adjusted and smoothed out, I felt like I was playing this game PC style. I tend to like my mouse controls loose and quick on the PC so this controller feels a tad bit sluggish and slow. It is 1000 times better than using a standard controller to aim with.

After a lot of time with the Frag FX I found that the controller was not able to achieve the speed and quickness that I wanted. I purchased the FragNstein to test out a different controller and found that the ability to adjust that controller was a thousand times greater than the options I had with the FragFX. I also had my FragFX mouse buttons stop working and had to mail the controller to Canada in order ot get it replaced. SplitFIsh did replace it no questions asked!
I am sure that now Splitfish has released products that are closer in quality to the Bannco FragNstein, but the build quality, customer service, and software flexibility (deadzone in particular) of the FragNstein makes it the better choice.
My next possible purchase will be the Eagle Eye to test out a converter rather than trying another controller.

Best Deals for PS3 FragFX v.2 Controller with Mouse Pad
I currently own the v1. and have used the v2. I noticed the same problem on both for a pc gamer like myself the mouse buttons are sometimes un responsive. Yes you can adjust the sensitivity and that will help. For the average user just looking to play easy this will most likely not be a problem. However if you are a hardcore gamer (i myself am in between.) you will need to fix this issue. However i have the solution. The basics of the mouse are simple all the buttons are pressure sensitive. This is where the issue lies. If you pull apart the mouse (5 screws) the board you see for the main mouse buttons (l-click r -click) have 3 terminals with a black band. this band is the pressure sensitive interface. To fix your problem you have 2 options the easy and the expert methods. The easy method
use a fine screw driver and gently and slowely scrape the black substance from the terminals making sure not to remove the underlying contact. Honest reviews on PS3 FragFX v.2 Controller with Mouse Pad
14 years of pc gaming experience and very meticulous when it comes to aiming.Near 1 year on the fragfx version 1 on ps3. I just recently got the version 2 this was the outcome on KILLZONE 2. I hope this is just bad luck or a firmware issue it is up to date by the way. It showed me jitters and lack of micro moving. Version 1 gets 5 stars but till I try another version 2 I cannot give it more than a 2 which is pushing it since it was very jittery while trying to move slow it would jump 10 pixels sporadically.Version 2 special edition is much better.

Metal Arms: Glitch In The System Reviews
I spent some time with this game at this years E3 and there is no question this is going to be one of those surprise hits no one sees coming. That's a good thing too, because in a year without Halo 2 Xbox is going to need something to kick it in the pants.
The graphics are some of the tightest the system has seen, each world is just beautifully rendered in 3D awaiting to be demolished by your weapons. I had a blast just picking away at enemies limbs, the way they pop and squirm as you shoot them is just awesome, you really need to see it in action. This game really pulled me in from the moment I picked up the controller.
No serious gamer can pass this up and it won't take much convincing of an average joe to get hooked.
You control Glitch, a mysterious robot found by a rebel force on the planet of Iron Star. General Corrosive and his army of Mil mechs are overrunning the planet, and it's up to you and your arsenal to take em out. OK, so the story isn't the most original ever written. However, the dialogue is well-written and hilarious, and the voice-acting is very well done.
The gameplay is what matters here. Glitch's right arm can be outfitted with any of 15+ weapons, ranging from a machine gun and rocket launcher to a rivet gun and mining laser. His left arm is used for support items, like grenades, but some items can be combined with his equipped weapon (use a scope with a compatible weapon and you can snipe from a distance). Weapons can be upgraded, as can Glitch's own servos, which enable him to reload faster. Destroyed enemies leave ammo, as well as washers, which act as the game's currency, letting you purchase extra life, grenades, or weapons. The game controls like Halo left stick to move, right stick to aim but is in third-person. Left trigger is for Glitch's left arm, right trigger fires his weapon.
Pretty basic stuff. But there's more. Glitch can use a weapon called a control tether, which can be used to hack into enemy droids, giving you complete control over them. You can use this to scout ahead, sneak into heavily guarded areas, or hack a huge armored mech to lay waste to everything. And I mean everything. Destroyed bots fly apart into pieces (often with a funny death wail). Bridges collapse. Doors are blown inward. Buildings crumble. There's a lot of interactivity in Metal Arms, and you'll need it, because the game can be tough in spots. However, you've often got several strategies to try. Come across an area with too many enemies? Shoot out the grate beneath their feet and send em into burning lava. Use the razor gun to sever an enemy's arms so he can't use weapons against you. There are also gun turrets to man and vehicles to use (one level has you fleeing across a desert canyon in a jeep much like Halo's Warthog). Once you've wasted all enemies in an area, exploration can net you extra ammo, new weapons, or golden computer chips (which unlock new levels for multiplayer).
Metal Arms looks great. The levels range from labs to robot cities to underground mines to open deserts there are over forty in the single-player game. Characters are well-animated, and the sound effects are about as perfect as you could ask for.
Music is appropriate without being distracting, and as already mentioned, the voice-acting adds a lot of character.
There are eight multiplayer modes for up to four people on splitscreen. One mode limits everyone to control tethers only, so it's a mad dash to jack into the strongest bots. There is also the option to create your own type of game. It doesn't support LAN like Halo does, but the splitscreen is almost as fun the inclusion of CPU-controlled bots is a nice addition.
The only thing negative you could say about Metal Arms is that it's being released in the time of year when multiple high-profile titles are coming out every week. It's sure to get lost in the holiday shuffle, a fate it certainly does not deserve. Swingin' Ape are a talented bunch, and this delightful, diverse, and rewarding game is a very welcome surprise.
The game is basically a third person shooter much more action than story, much more shooting than puzzle solving. The bosses are often puzzle-y, and there is some switch hunting, but nothing that really upsets the pace of the action, which is pretty incredible.
The "feel" of the game is spot-on. The weapons feel powerful, the sound effects give them a proper weight, the explosion effects are excellent, and the bots you destroy explode in a burst of parts and fire that is really cathartic. The levels are open without being directionless, linear without being overly restrictive. Basically, you have upgradeable weapons, one in each hand (each hand has a different set of weapons), so you might have a chaingun in one hand, and EMP grenades in the other.
The weapons are pretty well varied you get your standard machine gun, rocket launcher, etc., but you also get grenades that reprogram your enemies to become your allies, a weapon that fires something similar to circular saw blates (very useful for dismembering your foes), and a gun that fires exploding, firey rivets. Fun stuff, and suited for the varied situations you'll find yourself in.
There's also other innovative things, like a control tether that allows you to control other robots, little consoles where you can control big armored ships, and a whole mess of other things. The game has a wicked sense of humor, and really memorable and endearing characters.
The only problem I have with the game is that there is a vsync issue if you watch the game, the screen "tears" horizontally when you move quickly. This can be distracting to a person watching the game (this same graphics bug plagues Jak II, for the PS2), but when playing it, it's not an impediment.
This is the kind of really excellent game that gets overlooked because the character design and the content of the game aren't necessarily congruent. That's a shame the game as a whole comes together really well as a perfect mix of insane action, and a great setting.
It has 17 Weapons, all upgradable (I think)
More than 50 levels (40+ in Single Player 10+ in multiplayer)
Very intense firefights,
Beautiful graphics,
and "Hillarious" dialouge that is accually funny, and Dan Castellenta (The voice of Homer Simpson) does the voice of three of the characters in the game,
But I warn you, the game is very tough to finish, not scream and break your controller and throw the disc out the window hard, just a intense challenge, but the rewards are great,
DO NOT PASS THIS UP, I SURE DIDN'T! :D

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is a 3D action-shooter that's been called a combination of Halo and Ratchet & Clank. High praise for an unlicensed game from a small developer. But Swingin' Ape Studios has delivered a fantastic, fun, lengthy, and challenging game that deserves all the status of higher-profile titles. You control Glitch, a mysterious robot found by a rebel force on the planet of Iron Star. Wow, there's a lot of misinformation in the other reviews about Metal Arms. First off, you can have a whole bunch of profiles in your save games, so you can have as many games in progress as you want. Second, there's a review that rants about the difficulty of one of the bosses. It's not that hard. Not anywhere near that hard. Is it challenging? Sure the whole game's challenging. Maybe the character design is misleading, but this is a game for experienced gamers, not for people who have no experience with shooters. I know that sounds obnoxious, but there's not really any way around it. The level of difficulty on "normal" is somewhere between "normal" and "hard" in Halo, if that helps. The game is basically a third person shooter much more action than story, much more shooting than puzzle solving. The bosses are often puzzle-y, and there is some switch hunting, but nothing that really upsets the pace of the action, which is pretty incredible.

Honest reviews on Metal Arms: Glitch In The System
This is a great game! It has a lot of levels and a good range of weaponry. You can have machine guns, scatterguns, and, my favorite, rivet guns. The rivet guns are kind of like a needler from Halo mixed with a sniper rifle, and it blows limbs off easily. That is what I liked the best about this game, you can blast off any limb and knock limbs loose so they flail around uselessly. It seems like the creators of this game where greatly influenced by Halo. It has a fast vehicle like the Warthog. It has a tank like the Scorpion Battletank. It has Zombiebots that seem like Flood which take several kills to actually kill them. And they have Swarmers that seem like Infection Forms. Though this game may not have a really creative storyline and may have things that remind you a lot of other games, this is a great game and it was most fun. Go try this one. Hearing robots scream was worth it enough for me.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Metal Arms: Glitch In The System

It seems the more you read people talking about this game they either love it or hate it. I fall in the middle. I am just a casual gamer I play every now and then at night or on weekends, but I don't spend every waking moment with a controller in my hands. So take that into consideration as I make this review.
Overall I think this a fun game. I have been playing Mortal Kombat games for a long time now and I find this one just as enjoyable. I think the mix of character is nice with some of your most popular MK characters with some of the most recognizable DC comics heroes and villains.
The gameplay has been tweaked a bit since the previous MK game, but it is nothing that you can't adjust to, and overall I think it offers more character control. The special moves or super moves as called in the game are a fun mix too with most of your favorite moves form you MK characters kept in with a mix of a few new ones to keep things interesting.
We do have a return of the preprogrammed fatalities, but they have been toned down. No more dismemberment, decapitation, or removal of vital organs. This may be a big deal for you, but I don't require a high level of gore to enjoy a video game.
As far as I can tell there are no hidden characters in the game, other then the unlockable boss characters. So don't expect to find Reptile or the Martian Manhunter. But like most Xbox 360 games the game will support downloadable content in the future. But when new fighters show up is up to the video game publisher.
If you are trying to chose between the kollectors edition and the basica game save your money. The comic book that comes with the game is a quite small and almost just like a pamphlet and does not really add anything to the story. There is a small poster and a making of dvd. but you will probably be able to see all those videos on youtube before too long.
So a hardcore mortal kombat fan or gamer may not enjoy this game too much as it comes up short on gore and hidden characters. But the game still presents and interesting storyline and a chance to play as some of your favorite DC comics characters. I have it I enjoy playing it and hope to have fun with friends playing as superheros and undead ninjas.
MK vs. DC brings this series back to it's roots and it's a lot of fun. The fatalities can be lame but they still do what they're supposed to give you closure to a hard fought victory.
The fighting engine is a little stiff but it doesn't hinder the game play and you get used to it relatively quickly. Besides, I found it more enjoyable that Soul Calibur 4.
Bottom lins is that the game is fun. I received it today and played through the arcade mode with Scorpion and I can't wait to play through it with the other 19 characters.
I hope Midway keeps this engine and fine tunes it for future MK releases. Here's also hoping that the next one is a mature game too. I like the DC characters though and this is a nice one-off game.

Despite reading a lot of negative previews and thoughts from game magazines and Mortal Kombat fans, I was very interested in this game and decided to buy it anyway. I am not a big comic book reader, but I like superhero games, movies, and the characters themselves. That is the main reason I wanted this game. I used to be a big Mortal Kombat fan as well, so everything together made me want to get this. Anyway, I think it is great. It is a ton of fun. The graphics in the characters and arenas are amazing, very clean looking. The gameplay is fun. I kinda suck at it, a little rusty in fighting games, but it is still a lot of fun. The fatalities may be a little watered down, but I think they are still awesome. Sub Zero will freeze an opponent, and then pounds him into hundreds of pieces. It's good stuff. My favorite character so far is Green Lantern. The free fall fighting and klose kombat features are fun, a little difficult, but fun. i haven't tackled the story mode yet, but will be starting that tonight. All in all, this game is exactly what I wanted: A great looking "pick up and play" game for when friends come over, that is fun, has awesome characters, and can be played forever. Pick it up if you like good fighting games or are a fan of either franchise.Best Deals for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe - Xbox 360
I haven't been a fan of MK since after MK II for the Arcades and Super NES. I've tried all the sequels but they just weren't for me, especially the last 4 for the PlayStation and PS2.MK vs. DC brings this series back to it's roots and it's a lot of fun. If you have been less than pleased with the most recent iterations of the MK franchise and would like a return to a more MK3ish kombat system (lol) then then this is the game for you. It does away with a lot of the silly and complex and memorization heavy aspects of the later MK games (stances and long and hard to memorize combos) and replaces it with more timing based skills. The game is a lot faster paced and is fun to play. It's rated T for teen, so don't be expecting a hundred rib cages to be busting out of anyone's torsos during the fatalities.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe - Xbox 360
Great storyline to tie in the two universes and explaining how the heck some of these overated powerful heroes could be balanced out to make this a decent fighting game. Personally I could've thought of a better selection of DC heroes that would've fit more into the Mortal Kombat world but overall they did a surprisngly great job for the selection of DC cast that was chosen.I had to change my block button to LT for better response time for me to block but other than that, all was good. A great fighting game for the holidays with minus the weapons from previous MK games but great gameplay and good to see the MK cast finally crossover to the next generation systems. Which I think was long overdue. This is a keeper for fighting fans!Tuesday, October 14, 2014

This game is different from FPS which was refreshing. Like the title says, it is just like you're in it. The game characters interact with you that way. It can be a bit challenging at times cause you have to do some unknown maneuvers to overcome some ghosts. your buddies do clue you in, though. Graphics, sounds, camera view and game mechanics are very good. Cut scene graphics could be better, but gameplay graphics are way better. This beats all the old GB games out there, obviously. You will not be disappointed.
I purchased the Digital Download from Amazon but the Activation Key it came with was invalid so I couldn't play the game. Amazon told me I had to contact Atari to solve the problem, I did but Atari did not reply. I uninstalled the game and Amazon gave me a refund.
You will want to buy this game for console to avoid all the PC activation and installation problems. Or take your chances with this and hope you have better luck than I did.

Good game, a little on short side. I like the game concept, but could use a little more interactive extras other than the main objective.Honest reviews on Ghostbusters: The Video Game
The game is extremely fun and don't let anyone say otherwise. If you love Ghostbusters this is a must. It has a lot of interface flaws yet still remained fun, it has so much potential. Weapons are fun, the dialogue and writing is fun, its not serious nor was meant to be. Everyone returns that you'd love from the movies with the exception of Tully and Poha. Even Viggo makes a return in a taunting painting that gets annoyed when you interact with it. Great game, but a lot of technical issues, somehow I still loved it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Ghostbusters: The Video Game

20GB Hard Disk Drive HDD for Microsoft Xbox 360 Review
It's a harddrive, it does what it's suposed to do. I've had my xbox for about 4 years now and I hardly ever played it since I used to game on my PC (WoW). But when my pc crashed I needed my fix. I couldn't play newer games on my xbox without updates which required a harddrive. After about 20 minutes of searching this was the cheapest solution to my problem so I bought it.......
Update: April 4 2012. Hard drive is still working find and dandy with almost daily use. I'm not sure if I lucked out compared to the other reviewers.

I have a xbox 360 arcade that I bought a few years ago. It only came with a 256MB memory card. Bought this to upgrade so that I can save more games. Not only does it save more games I also got more features from my NCAA football 2012 game. I can see highlights at the end of the game now. No problems so far and I have had it for a month. The only reason to not give 5 yet is b/c I have had it for a short time and do not know how long it will last.Tuesday, September 2, 2014

Since Madden 13 is oh so very proud of their fictional Twitter feed I have decided to do my review as a fictional Twitter feed between EA and gamers:
EAsports: New Madden is out and it is the best thing in history! What do you think? #BetterTheDayYourChildWasBorn
AGamer: Hey I'm having trouble finding Franchise Mode. Where is it?
EASports: Gone Bro!
AGamer: What do you mean gone? It was the only thing that didn't suck.
EASports: We have innovated and replaced it with Connected Careers! Like a boss! #ConnectedCareersBetterThanSex
AGamer: WTH is Connected Careers?
EASports: It is like Superstar and Franchise mode combined! Now you can be either player or a coach! Like a boss! #JesusWouldDoConnectedCareers
AGamer: Couldn't we always do that?
EASports: Yeah but not like on Connected Careers now you can go online and compete with friends! Like a boss! #INeedACigaretteAfterConnectedCareers
AGamer: You mean like the online play we've had the last 4 years? What evs I'll check it out.
AGamer: Dude, I'm doing the Coach in Connected Careers and can't change schemes or customize my playbook. What gives?
EASports: Did you see the fictional Twitter feed! Skip Bayless in the house!
AGamer: Yeah thats cool and all but we've been able to customize schemes and plays in Madden since the late 90s. WTH?
EASports: Check out the physics on the Infinity Engine. Gang tackles like a boss! #ILoveMaddenMoreThanMyFamily
AGamer: Infinity Engine? Is that why my players keep flying through the air like a grenade went off?
AGamer: And staggering around like their drunk and tripping over people?
AGamer: Dude, why does my running back keep running into the back of people and falling over? Did he just get off the Gravitron at a state fair?
EASports: Physics! Like a boss! #IWillStabYouForACopyOfMadden
AGamer: It isn't remotely realistic! People are tripping over each other after plays and flying all over the place like someone hit them with a car!
EASports: Feel the realism! #WhoNeedsFriendsWhenYouHaveMadden
AGamer: What is up with the announcing? Are they in the same game? I'm up 28 3 and every time I get a first down they say it is my first one of the game.
EASports: Phil Sims in the house!Like a boss!
AGamer: Why do you keep saying 'like a boss' #Toolbag
EASports: Cause I'm sooooo excited about all the innovation in Madden!!! #WeDeserveANobelPrize
AGamer: Excited about the innovation? You took away a lot of our control and customization in Franchise Mode and renamed it Connected Careers.
AGamer: You gave us a physics engine that makes the players flop around like Muppet's inside of a dryer.
AGamer: The announcing is no better than it was 8 years and a whole generation of systems ago.
AGamer: Superstar mode has also been replaced by Connected Careers and while the gameplay is solid there is nothing personal to connect you with your player.
AGamer: I want to see my player get interviewed and see him get accolades. I want to see him get endorsements.
AGamer: I want to see celebrations at his accomplishments like what you saw in the NBA 2k series.
AGamer: I get none of that in Madden 13. You have just given me a game with player lock and nothing else.
EASports: Did you see the Twitter feed? #SkipBaylessOwnsTwitter
AGamer: Yeah I saw the Twitter feed but nothing else.
AGamer: This is what you call innovation?
EASports: Like a boss!!
AGamer: Whatever EA. Whatever.
2KSports: Ashamed there is no competition out there isn't it.
NFL: @2KSports Shhhhh. We're trying to count our money.
Pros:
1. The Infinity Engine is a solid step forward for the franchise, and should only get better as the series evolves in this direction. This is the best part of Madden 13, and can only be truly appreciated once you play it. Comparing the gameplay engines from Madden 12 or even NCAA 13 is almost a night and day difference.
2. The gameplay itself is probably the best its been since Madden's been on the current consoles. Multi-player matches (co-op and online) in particular should be the best its been in this generation. Past annoyances like Psychic DBs, eternal pockets for QBs, or impossible across the body off balance throws are out or at least toned down.
3. For as much as I dislike it, Combined Careers did well in including the different ratings for players depending on scheme. The Twitter/Social dashboard is at least interesting, if a bit clunky.
4. Trade logic within CCM seems to be harder, a positive in my book since it takes out trading a FA you just signed for a first round pick.
Cons:
1. Well, as the rest of my Amazon reviewers have noted Franchise mode as we have come to know and love got the boot. The new mode, Combined Careers, is a combination of past year's Superstar and Franchise modes. Unfortunately, Coach mode (which is supposed to be the evolved Franchise mode) is sadly lacking.
2. Lack of editing players/rosters: no longer can you edit player numbers, ratings, or really even have that much control of your roster. For example, in my current CCM I have 3 players with the number 82 in the wide receiver position, a minor annoyance that the user cannot address since editing is completely gone. The inability to change ratings makes a bit of sense(so no one can just turn anyone into a 99 overall rating) if Progression actually worked. Unfortunately, I had a rookie LB win both Rookie of the Year and Defensive MVP...and lost rating (78 to 77). Finally, you no longer edit player positions and thus are stuck with whatever EA classifies the player as. Want to turn Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis back to DE's for the return of your new 4-3 Colts defense (in 13 they are 3-4 mirroring the real life switch)? Good luck, you can't.
3. Lack of a Fantasy draft not a big one for me, but I know at least two of my friends refuse to buy this simply because of this being left out of 13.
4. Lack of a co-op Franchise unless you and your friends are willing to shell out $60 per person (plus XBOXs/Live subscriptions) you can no longer have your friend play within your franchise. As it is, I can play/compete with my friends/roommates on one console in Madden 12 or NCAA 13 but not in Madden 13.
5. Inability to import NCAA13 draft classes not a surprise to anyone following the Madden hype train, but disappointing none the less.
6. Being forced to go online -at the moment of writing this review all the benefits of the CCM are found by choosing the online (always connected to EA servers) option. Online gamers will get tuning updates days to even weeks before offline gamers. Perhaps the biggest hindrance to this would be anyone who has actually had to connect to EA's servers before, they are notoriously buggy and finicky. In my NCAA 13 dynasty I constantly lose connection to the EA servers, a minor annoyance in that game, a game breaking feature in this one. Because of the way online CCM is set up, any time you lose connection to the EA server you lose all progress in whatever you were doing...4th quarter up by 3 as the underdog in the Super Bowl? Tough luck, you are going to have to play that entire game over again.
Conclusion: While the loss of Franchise Mode (and the inability of Coach mode in CCM to replace it) is a serious one in my book, there is some appeal in this game. As it is, people who play Madden for the multiplayer quick games will enjoy this game. People who get Madden for the Franchise play will find it sorely lacking until/if they ever patch it.
The 2k sports games are all so much better than the new Madden. Of course Franchise mode is still there, it only takes 30 seconds and half a brain to figure that out. But, it's just not as fun as previous years, the gameplay itself doesn't feel much better. I tried but just couldn't stick with it. Don't waste your money. Go with Fifa or any 2k sports game, even the Top Spin game is better than this.

This year?
No franchise mode.
No fantasy draft.
No importing of draft classes from NCAA Football 13 that many of us dropped an additional $60 on in some cases, primarily so we could import draft classes for multiple seasons of Madden.
To some customers, those omissions may not seem like a big deal. But for many of us, it's like buying a new car and being told what color you will receive, having all of the radio stations preprogrammed and locked in place, and only being allowed to drive the vehicle on certain routes. Does the car work? Sure. Does it drive better than last year's model? It does. Can you roll down the windows, crank up your favorite song, and drive wherever the road may lead you? Not a chance.
For many of us who have faithfully played each and every annual release of Madden for years now, they took everything we love about the game and trashed it. It's not that they kept flawed pieces in place, EA actually took portions of the game we've eagerly looked forward to and embraced for countless years and ripped them out. I've played literally thousands of hours in the Madden series and if you broke that time down between teams I've assembled through fantasy drafts and teams that EA assembled for me (the latter being the only option in Madden NFL 13), I'd guess that ratio is somewhere close to 200:1. I've been playing Madden since the SNES days and while I've had my share of complaints with past editions, Madden NFL 13 was the first time I've ever found myself regretting that I had purchased the latest release.
I'm giving Madden NFL 13 a one star rating not because the game is worthless, but because EA literally ripped out what for many of us was the heart and soul of the game and sold us an empty shell instead. For me, it's no longer "Madden," it's just a football game. It's bad enough that I returned the game shortly after purchasing it, losing a good chunk of money in the process. The omissions, which we've relied on and enjoyed in countless previous versions of Madden, are truly that important to the game.

As a longtime Madden player (have played/owned every iteration since 99), this year's version of Madden is perhaps the most over-hyped one since the move to the current gen of consoles. After years of gamers complaining about the lack of innovation between the yearly releases of Madden, EA finally took a swing at things for the better. Unfortunately, even with the new Infinity Engine and Connected Careers Mode the exclusion of a full fledged Franchise Mode from years past is sadly game breaking for this gamer.Pros:

With no franchise or fantasy draft options in either online or offline mode this 59.99 game becomes worthless. Sadly I did not check reviews before buying this. I just trusted that the one feature I have used on every version of madden I have purchased over the years would still be there. It is not. I would return it but I sadly opened the game to play it. So now I have a nice 59.99 coaster. It will be used as such. In that regard the Madden 13 coaster is easily a 3 star rated item due to the hole in the middle and no anti-slip coating.Honest reviews on Madden NFL 13 - Xbox 360
After reading the negative reviews, I thought I could still get past it all and enjoy the game. Wrong. I do love fantasy draft and editing rosters, not to give 99 ratings but to make some players more realistic. I thought that improved gameplay and more realism would trump the details that are missing this year. The attributes that you can improve are weak, barely make a difference and wasteful too. It just isn't a fun game anymore, and like all football and madden fans, it just makes me sad.The 2k sports games are all so much better than the new Madden. Fans of the Madden franchise have taken the good with the bad for years now. Like many, I've dutifully forked out my $60 each year to get the newest version of the game. Each year there are drawbacks (middle linebackers that can leap and intercept every pass over the middle, players being sucked into tackles, receivers that try much less than the defensive backs to catch a ball, the fact that you will be sacked nearly every time you try a play action pass the list goes on and on) and each year EA addresses an issue or two (whether they actually fix them or not), updates the rosters, and convinces us to spend another $60 for the newest edition. Even with the drawbacks, for those of us who love Madden, we start our franchise mode, use the fantasy draft to assemble a team that can overcome the shortcomings of this year's game and beat the competition, and import our draft classes from EA's corresponding annual release of the NCAA Football game. I am one of those players who not only enjoys all of that, but continues playing the same team I've built from the ground up for multiple seasons at a stretch. This year?

This is a solid effort from Visceral Games. The game plays very similar to God of War I/II but the leveling system seems richer with more possible combos and the morality element (absolution or damnation) adds a unique twist to finishing moves and your overall leveling progression. The real standout for Dante is the artwork. The environments are beautifully rendered (if you can say that about hell) and wonderfully creative. I haven't finished the game yet but I can't wait to see the additional circles. Overall I think reviewers were a bit too critical with this one. Some were sensitive to the use of the underlying fiction and others feel it too closely resembles GOW. My personal opinion having read the Inferno is that it's a lot of fun to see the environments and characters in visual form (obviously the story has little / no overlap) and that what makes GOW great makes Dante's Inferno a blast to play too. Imitation is not a bad thing here.
A few days before the game's release, reviews started showing up online and with great interest I read them.. every single review, ALL OF THEM made out Dante's Inferno as a failed attempt to clone a gaming series called God Of War and rated the game somewhat poorly for doing so. I was bothered by this. I'm old enough to know that a review is only one person's opinion and that just because "Sam" didn't like a game doesn't mean "Tom" won't. So, I was going to get the game anyway. As for God Of War, I'd heard of it before, but I'm probably one of the few people that has NEVER EVER played that game, as I do not own a PS3.
So, the big day came and I got my copy of Dante's Inferno, along with BioShock 2 at a GameStop midnight launch. I chose to play Dante's Inferno first.. and wow! What a thrill ride it has been thus far for me. I ended up devoting that first day to the game as the game's story and fast paced adventure absolutely took over me. And while playing it, I didn't think about all the 6.5 and 7.0 scores reviewers were giving the game.. when my mind would stray, I would think about how all those reviewers said God Of War was better. Really? Because if God Of War is better than Dante's Inferno, then, my God, God Of War must be absolutely EPIC. For the first time in years, I actually want a PS3 now just to see, because I'm enjoying Dante's Inferno THAT MUCH. The game is a blast to play.. but no, not perfect. My only real complaints is that there are a few cheap death spots.. most notably on the level for GREED and I'm not a big fan of quick-time events. But beyond those areas, the game rocks hard.
As for BioShock 2.. the game I got along with Dante's Inferno. I've devoted a day to it, as well. Completely different kinda game. More slower paced, but great, as well. For now, though, I'm actually enjoying Dante's Inferno more.
STORY
The "story" is there Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy (with some twists), but it doesn't seem to be intertwined with the action. It's kinda like story...action...story...action rather than one blended product. I rarely felt like it "mattered" (unlike say ME2).
GAMEPLAY
As for the gameplay, this really truly is a hack and slash again, not necessarily a bad thing but just hacking and slashing wave after wave of demon gets boring rapidly. Yes, you can use combos and some combos are cool, but you hardly ever need to. I'm mixed on the "puzzles" and on puzzles in general in games. In this game, they're out of place, and rather easy. Again, not necessarily bad (See where this is going? Not bad, just not great...).
VISUALS/GRAPHICS
The visuals are quite stunning though and kudos for the 60 FPS gameplay soon the be the industry minimum if you ask me. But the camera is annoying as all, well, hell. It's so awkward that it's a "fixed" camera unlike the MANY next-gen games that we're all used to where we have much more control over the camera. This takes away from the visual presentation IMO. I absolutely hate it.
VALUE
You can get through this game in about 12 hours. And I don't think there is any real reason to play it again. At $56, that's just not enough value for a game that's really nothing special. I'd wait till it's bargain bin or rent it or borrow it. At about $29, this game would be well worth it. In fact, I'll probably sell my copy now that I've finished it...
When I completed my manuscript I sent it to my cousin, a renowned scholar) on "Dante's Inferno." He demurred criticism, explaining that he had never played a video game before (it was a tabletop game remember) but that he appreciated the effort. I imagine that's the response most people familiar with Dante Alighieri's "The Divine Comedy" will feel about this game: it's not very accurate, but if the kids are interested in literature that's a good thing, right?
In the video game, Dante Alighieri (Graham McTavish) is transformed from an Italian poet to a Templar Knight on the Third Crusade. A deeply flawed warrior, he manages to break his vow to Beatrice (Vanessa Branch) before slaughtering Muslim prisoners of war at the city of Acre. Sin and death surrounds Dante, from his doomed fellow crusader and brother-in-law Francesco (Tom Tate) to his brutal father Alighiero (JB Blanc) to his forlorn mother Bella (Pollyana McIntosh). Dante's disillusionment is central to the belief that as a Templar his soul is untouched by the murders he commits it is a credit to "Dante's Inferno" that it takes on such weighty matters as the Papal Bull of the Crusade. But Dante is one tough mother, so when he is stabbed in the back and death comes for him, Dante wrestles the Geiger-like scythe from him and proceeds on a quest to return to Beatrice...only to discover that Satan has absconded with her soul into hell. Thus begins Dante's descent, accompanied only by the poet Virgil (Bart McCarthy).
And that's the part we've all been waiting for: fighting in literature's most infamous hellscape. The nine circles of hell are lovingly (hatefully?) inspired by Hieronymous Bosch and other medieval artists: ferrying with Charon, battling Minos, resisting Cleopatra, slaying the many-mouthed Cerberus, facing his father's greed, and overcoming the gigantic fire demon Phlegyas.
It's impossible not to learn about the original text by playing "Dante's Inferno" a quote flies at you every time you die. There are a variety of damned souls throughout that can be saved or condemned through mini-games which in turn gives you new powers, all of them drawn from the poem. You can't help but admire a game that's willing to teach you a piece of classic literature even as you beat it up.
There are a lot of flourishes in "Dante's Inferno" that have nothing to do with the poem and everything to do with its predecessors, "Devil May Cry" and "God of War," from the big honking scythe to the fact that Dante can fight for up to ten seconds in mid-air, from the completely unnecessary tassels that dangle from his arms to the power-ups that reward you for button mashing. This is a game where strategy is not so much rewarded as beaten out of you. And yet "Dante's Inferno" is also a jumping, puzzling game, brutally uncompromising in sending Dante to his doom. The medium difficulty is just about right for fighting but makes many of the other challenges too hard; the easy setting makes the various puzzles surmountable but the fighting too easy.
By the sixth circle the creative team behind "Dante's Inferno" seems to have run out of steam. Whereas in the previous circles we were gifted with whirling two-headed demons that spilled gold, corrupt infants with blades for hands, moaning temptresses with tentacles unfurling from their abdomens, and shuddering behemoths of disgusting filth, the sixth circle just starts repeating itself. We get horned demons, then horned demons with axe and shield, and then horned demons with wings and two swords that can turn into flames. The eighth circle with its ten "bolgie" is the worst, as a narrator explains the sinners and sins rather than actually showing them after spending hours with wailing corpses flailing, boiling, and skewered, it's obvious the design team ran out of ideas and budget. Things don't pick up again until the last circle, when you face down Satan himself. Compared to earlier battles, the final fight was a cakewalk.
The end of "Dante's Inferno" isn't the end of course in the game or in the poem but it will be interesting to see if Visceral Games can make Purgatory just as compelling.
I personally like all these hellish and demonic themes. Dante's Inferno portrays in a good way all this inferno world. There are scary parts like when you arrive to the Limbo and you meet these babies with hooks instead of arms... and when you hit them, you listen them crying as newborn babies... damn... this is scaring. You see also people trapped in the walls, all of them mourning and crying. So in a way this game depicts the experience of being in hell, for sure a terrible place. There are putrid corpses all around, blood and fluids, impaled people, and a lot of satanic environments. I just love it :)
There are interesting things in the gameplay such as collecting souls and exchanging them for new abilities, once in a while and after certain combats you get some sorts of magic and from time to time you find people that must be absolved or punished. Depending on your decisions through the game, your virtue or evil will grow, allowing you to reach new abilities for each mood.
Yesterday I was playing and I came to a point when Beatrice, Dante's wife, was being kissed by Lucifer in an spectacular cinematic. God ... this game is dark... very dark.
If you play it fast, maybe you'll see the game falls short but I like to take my time to see every detail on screen... so for me the game's length is fine. The bosses are hard to beat, so you'll have your hands busy with this game. The colors, sounds and graphics in general are amazing.
The game is definitely worth its price. I recommend it if you like dark themes and of course if you are a dedicated gamer. Don't think about the God of War thing, you'll enjoy this game as much as you have enjoyed your GOW.

When I first heard about a Dante's Inferno video game a year ago, I instantly got excited with goosebumps. As soon as they would allow me, I pre-ordered the game.A few days before the game's release, reviews started showing up online and with great interest I read them.. every single review, ALL OF THEM made out Dante's Inferno as a failed attempt to clone a gaming series called God Of War and rated the game somewhat poorly for doing so. No SPOILERS. This is not a "bad" game (my review is really 3.5 stars, but that's not possible here). Five years ago, this game could have been all the rage. But it's horribly derivative now. But if this was just a God-of-War knockoff, that would be okay nothing wrong with going with what's good. Problem is, it's not. It's nowhere near as good, even after being later in time. Unless you're a DIE HARD for this genre (GOW, Devil May Cry, Rygar anyone?), you will find this game kind of boring if you've played some of the other titles recently. I would rent or borrow this first. Because I'm an addict I payed $56 to get it on release day I wish I would have waited. There is nothing horrendous about this game, just nothing great hence 3 stars.STORY
Honest reviews on Dante's Inferno - Xbox 360
A long time ago I picked up a role-playing game at Gen Con titled "Abyss" which was a reimagining of "Dante's Inferno" on steroids. It was gloriously violent, decadent, and imaginative. When the Open Game License was released for Dungeons & Dragons came out, I was convinced this was the chance for "Abyss" to triumphantly return and, after tracking down the license holder and a publisher, wrote an entire book for the game. But then the 4th Edition of D&D was released and the publisher's interest waned. "Dante's Inferno," the video game by Visceral Games, is what I imagine that tabletop game would have looked like.

A lot of people say this game is like having God Of War for the 360. Well... the game has a similar gameplay but definitely the storyline is way different. I read the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri and let me tell you, the game is way more enjoyable if you read the book first. So from the book's perspective, this game is a very good approach. Of course the game does not cover all topics from the book but still the main thing is there.I personally like all these hellish and demonic themes.
