I had a USB wireless headset before this, but it became broken so I gave this a try. The communicator has nothing on a USB wireless headset, but it is very mobile and does not get much in the way.

PROS: Good Range, Sounds decent, Easy to use and pair with Phone and PS3

CONS: Mic can have a bit of static, you can't mute it (thats bad when you want to talk to others in the room instead of the game), the ear clip easily comes off and can be lost (I've lost mine a few times)

Works great for phone and ps3 (main reason why I got it). The sound quality is acceptable for price. It is very easy to use. It only uses one button so learning how to use different features can be difficult (especially switching from PS3 to answer a call. whatever. Great price, fast shipping, good enough quality.

Honest reviews on Ear Force PBT Bluetooth Communicator for PS3

I have a few days with this item and there is no problem yet! I've been playing for a good amount of hours testing this out and so far, everything looks good! There are a few complaints about the low quality in the voice volume but I think if you move around your headset volume on your ps3, it should put it up a little bit more. I have my heatset at high and also on my ps3, I have it on level 5 . It sounds perfect to me! Not as loud where you get headaches, but not as low as for you to not hear what the other is saying!

Battery life is what its stated! Once received, leave it charging for about 4 hours. Battery does last a good 5 hours or more non-stop. Standby of course, last longer. I say for a bout 12 hours or more. 5 stars

First and foremost, I have had this product for well over a month now. The dual pairing technology to the PS3 and cell phone is what makes this product amazing. The voice quality is top notch. It is also very simple to use. Another neat thing to comment about is the fact that I can also now use my Xbox X31 headset on my PS3. This also works very nicely. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a PS3 and cell phone combination.

The answer is YES! YES YES YES!

I found Pokemon Black and White to be the first games in the Pokemon series that deeply disappointed me. I found the music to be, for the most part, boring and uninspired. They took away so many things that had come to make playing the Pokemon games so interesting and varied, such as the berry-growing and the Pokemon contests (which were replaced by musicals). And I disliked the direction they took with the story. I would have preferred if they actually just kept it as before, rather than introducing the idea that maybe having Pokemon battle each other wasn't ethical and then completely going with the argument that "It helps Pokemon reach their true potential." As a 20-year old college student, it just seems a bit ridiculous, though I wonder if children blindly accept this explanation. Also, I felt that the games were lacking post-game content that was varied. The Battle Subway is a challenge, but after a while it gets boring as there is not much variety to it.

Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, however, deliver where the first two games did not. First of all, the music in these two games is beautiful. There are many great new themes, especially in the new beginning cities and towns. The theme for Aspertia City (that's right, CITY it has its own gym and Pokemon Center) is a breath of fresh air, and completely different from all starting themes before it. Quite honestly, it is one of the best in the series.

Story wise, I feel that they toned it down with all of the ethical stuff and turned it more into a traditional hero-versus-Team Rocket story, which Game Freak has always done well.

In terms of post-game content, this game has a lot to offer.

First, there is the Pokemon World Tournament, where you can challenge past Gym Leaders and members of the Elite Four. You can also participate in competitions where you only battle in a certain style, such as double, rotation, and triple battles. I thought this was excellent since these modes are barely used in the storyline.

There is also the White Treehollow and Black Tower, where you have to go to the lowest levels of these locations. The trick is, you don't get to bring items with you and the place is infested with Pokemon trainers with strong Pokemon. I have actually lost various times here. It is challenging, and I like it!

In addition, there is also Join Avenue, a place where you can buy loads of new items, increase your Pokemon's friendliness, and even buy your Pokemon food that can raise their levels and their EV stats, which makes it easier to train Pokemon for competitive play.

Also, there is now a medal system basically, its a trophy system. It is pretty addictive. The game also gets a challenge mode! If you get the key yourself or have someone give you the challenge mode key, you can increase enemy levels and AI! Which is a big plus for me!

A few other changes that I liked about Pokemon Black 2 and White 2:

+When you run out of repels, a little text box pops up and asks you if you'd like to use another. It is faster than having to open your bag and pick it again.

+You are no longer limited to Unova Region Pokemon.

+It is easier to move Pokemon around in the PC. You can actually now choose whole groups of Pokemon to transfer at once.

+Every gym has its own theme! This is excellent! I hope they keep doing this for all new Pokemon games, because it really helps give each gym its own feel.

There are a ton of kool, new additions to the series this time around. So if you are wondering if you should get the sequels to Black and White, I say do it NOW!

While HeartGold and SoulSilver will hold a special place in my heart as my favorites, Black 2 (I refer only to Black 2 in this review, though most commentary is transferable to White 2 as well) is a strong entry in the Pokemon series without a doubt, and may objectively be the best so far.

Game Freak made a surprising move in announcing "Black and White 2", as no games had ever had direct sequels before immediately visiting a new region ought to have killed the game while it was still an idea. It made it through somehow though, and I'm glad it did, because these games are packed so full of new content I have no doubt that I got my money's worth. From the new storyline to new areas to the medal system (a nod to Steam's "Achievements" and the like), there's no doubting that Game Freak took pains to make this a world worth revisiting.

All the old favorites are present (all... what, 649 of them not all catchable in-game of course) and some Pokemon come in new forms as well. The new starting area is especially appreciated, as starting off exactly the same way B/W did would have started things off on an old, expired note. Also updated is the necessity of HMs once a painful bane of a gamer's existence, they've been almost entirely eliminated from the main story, instead serving as paths to extra areas. They've really packed in the extras as well, though I'd prefer not to say much about them to keep the review relatively spoiler-free.

The game starts rather slowly as usual, and the graphics have received little update, always a weak point of the series. While Game Freak has recently started stepping into 3D territory, battle sprites and animations are as 2D as ever. Likewise, the plot is thin (though in recent games, has shown some improvement, especially in B/W and here). Those who missed out on the original B/W will not find themselves utterly stranded, as the game does a good job of filling in the gaps, though some of the nuances may be lost on them. However, combat is as finely-tuned as ever, and if you live around many other Pokemon fans, there is no end in the ways to compete. It's always a little harder on those living in Poke-isolation, and while wifi takes some steps to relieve that, the "Pal Pad" is always a burden.

Still, these are minor issues in comparison to the big picture. Pokemon has always been strong, and Black 2 is another, if surprising, improvement to the franchise.

Gotta catch em all!

This game takes place 2 years after the events of Pokemon Black/White. I've played the Japanese version from the beginning to the end and I absolutely LOVE this game, much more than the prequel (even the games before black and white!). I also love this game enough to buy it again in English, even though I've already beaten it before.

And I'm very fond with the new characters and especially your new rival. He has great character development and feels more like a bro than anything else. I'd write more but that's where GameFAQs comes into place. Buy this game, it's very much worth it.

Honest reviews on Pokémon Black Version 2

I pre-ordered both Pokemon Black 2, as well as White 2. The story and flow has not been a disappointment in the least. All of what you can expect from the previous games has been tweaked a bit to improve the gameplay. There are a couple of new features and gimmicks, on of them being PokeStar studios which is a bit of a flunk in my opinion (you battle, and then they add a script to your battle to make it a "movie").

I have always been a fan of Pokemon games and so I know what to expect when I am purchasing. For someone completely new to the Pokemon games I would recommend this series first, I have noticed it has a bigger variety of wild pokemon early on to choose from. Pokemon HeartGold, Soulsilver and B/W are good choices as well but this game will definitely give a new player a bigger list of choices on which Pokemon they want to train.

They did not add any new pokemon in this game unique from B/W but they have expanded the Pokemon you can catch in single areas. There is a feature on your Pokedex that gives you a stamp when you have seen all the unique pokemon to an area (which is useful). With the combination of those features it allows for you to fill your pokedex with ease, as well as a quick and easy way to know where to look for a specific pokemon.

In the opposing light, this game is not extremely different from the others. If you have played the other games that have come out recently, this game is probably not going to be much different for you. If you didn't like Black or White you can assume that you will not really enjoy this one. That being said, this game is a continuation of B/W and you can link your games which has been fun. It provides flash backs and little dialogue occasionally about your previous character in B/W. For a list of the different features I would recommend looking into other reviews or using a guidebook. I have kept from them to reduce spoilers.

The story of this game is different, you will meet new characters and revisit others later on in a timeline. This game is great stand alone and I believe it is excellent if combined with your experience with B/W.

I give this game 5 stars because it has kept me thinking, even as an older player I have to have a new strategy for new types. There are some really nice new items that you can attach that will make your Pokemon more competitive. This game can have an increased difficulty which has been fun but you need to train quickly. It helps children and adults to use critical thinking on which Pokemon to use against the opponents Pokemon. I was also surprised to find out they do have some random difficult wild Pokemon that can wipe your team out if you suck... like me. Anyways.. I digress.

Enjoy!

Yes I got both black2 and white2....I'm stupid, Nintendo take all my money but I still love their games.

By the way, my black2 was brought in Japan on the release day.(I'm Chinese and I made my travel plan to Japan base on the pokemon relase day) When I was in a huge line with all Japanese friends holding either a ds/3ds playing pokemon and wait for the new one come out, we start talking about why everyone in the world love pokemon so much.

I believe all pokemon fans have been asked the same question, Some people think the game have poor graphics and "naive" game style. They never truly understand what's fun in this game. Usually, I asked them to take a little bit of time and play the game. most people will understand why in short time.

Pokemon is just fun! For lite gamer, it has all cute pokemon and you feel relationships with them are real. even beat through the story is fun. If you are hard core gamer, no problem, Pokemon have the most creative, most competitive and most interesting battle system, and the battle tactics has always developed. pokemon is for everyone.

Now Let me talk about Black/white2

it is still gen5 of Pokemon series, if you know what that means...

It means, it is not a NEW Pokemon game. It is like yellow, you playing on basically the SAME map.

but, that story happened two year after black/white, there will be place that you know, but VERY different in details. a lot of ice is going to make secret pass which do not exist in b/w1. And just like it all time: the soundtracks are amazing!

This time when you are playing, you can catch old pokemon in the very beginning (if you remember in b/w1 you can only meet new pokemons before you beat N).

Of course there are new legendary Pokemons. All of them are awesome.

The story, for the reason to not blow the fun, I will not talk about the story. Everyone knows even pokemon game never actually have a big story, the b/w1 still made a lovely story which it much better that the old four generations. characters like N gave me a huge impact... B/W2 have the same stage, so you will enjoy the story just like b/w1. If you are huge pokemon fan and you want to know more pokemon story wise, there is a manga called "Pokemon special" that I huge recommend.

some weakness about b/w2:

1: Nintendo decided to make this game still, on the ds. So the graphic dis not improve. Personally, I'm super excited for a new pokemon game on 3DS. Hopefully release next year 2013.

2: They still didn't bring back the following pokemon like heart gold and soul silver did. I do not understand why.

3: The character we used in b/w 1. Did not have huge impact to the story.

Overall, B/W2 has all I expect to see, 5 star no question.

Snoopy Tennis

Okay, first of all, I may be slightly biased because I am a fan of Peanuts and have been for decades. However, I think that is appropriately balanced with the fact that I was a state ranked tennis player and have worked in the tennis industry for several years, making me a very harsh critic of any tennis game.

So on with the review!

Take away Snoopy, Linus, Charlie Brown and all the other familiar characters you are able to play with, and do you know what you have? You still have a very solid tennis video game. The gameplay is actually very fun, and regardless of the sentimental value one may hold for Snoopy and the gang, it's an addicting game. As a tennis player, it's very nice to see actual mechanics used in the game (ie: when you swing earlier, you will pull the ball toward the forehand side).

It's a pretty easy game once you get the hang of it (swing once you hear the ball bounce),however, the very hard mode is absolutely impossible (well... right now at least). I haven't tried the two-player link mode yet, so I don't know how that is. The single player mode consists of normal, squash (walls count, but it's no fun) and powerup mode, which has icons you can pick up (similar to Mario Tennis). Then there's championship mode, which allows you to unlock characters and stages after completing it with the different difficulties.

The cons of the game No doubles play. That's about it, really. I guess i could complain about the monotonous sound effects, but for a system that was made 12 years ago, I'm not complaining.

But back to the Snoopy and Peanuts bitthey're absolutely adorable. For the first couple hours, you'll be more engrossed with the character movements and how cute they are than the actual game play.

Kudos to Infogrames for not pumping out a commercialized piece of [junk]. I'm looking forward to their release of their Snoopy flight adventure game later in the year (for the PS2 I believe).

When playing Tennisgames theres one all determining factor the controls. Especially your ability to control the ball, and this games really nails it. Mario doesn't even come close, forget about everything else once you master the controls you'll enjoy this game forever and ever. The graphics is also crystal clear, wich can't be said for Mario. You never doubt whether or not you made the shot.

In my book this is one of the best tennisgames ever, regardless of platform.

Best Deals for Snoopy Tennis

This is the first video game to feature the Peanuts characters and it's a splendid showing. I'd give it a slightly higher 4.5 if I could. The characters are detailed, instantly recognizable and have different attributes, colors are birght, there are multiple courts to play on, as well as variations on the srtaight tennis game. When you play the championship mode you play against different characters as you progress. Once you beat a new character, it will become available for play in the regular mode. So there's a collection side of things that keeps you hooked. There is also a power mode where different power ups appear durring the match. Aiming for them is quite challenging. Also you can hook up your GBC to a friends and play against each other! Always a great idea for a sports game.

My only gripes with the game are that I wish the sound was a bit crisper and that there was some character voices or something to keep things sonically fresh. All that's presented are the ball sounds, a crowd cheer and an announcer saying "out", when you hit the ball out of bounds.

The control is not only varied, but easy to learn. Young ones will have no problem learning the basics. But once those basics are mastered, you'll find you can actually control the movement of the ball in air and many other things. This is a perfect game for long trips as tennis matches are quite long and trying to aquire the extra characters will take extra endurance. Once you start, you'll have to tornnn away from your GBC!

No doubt about it, if you like tennis and/or the Peanuts, you will love this game.

Honest reviews on Snoopy Tennis

Snoopy Tennis was put together well I think. It has a cute aspect to the game by favorite characters in the Peanuts comic strip to be in this game and you are competing against other characters too. the fun part is there too by the action of the tennis game going on and the Peanuts characters playing. characters in it are charlie Brown, Linus, Pig pen, Lucy and many others. I left my favorite one out Snoopy of course! The manufacturer Infogrames I think has made great games from this tennis game to another favorite of mine Driver.

I got this cable just because it is able to connect to multiple consoles. You cannot however connect to all consoles at once only one at a time.

Best Deals for MADCATZ 6015 Universal Game System S-video/audio Cable

As another customer stated, you don't get what was in the picture. You get some crap knockoff brand cable like all the other ones that are available out there. At least this is my experience with buying from Video Closeout. Had the MADCATZ brand silver braided cable like in the picture for years and misplaced it. Looked to get a replacement and guess I got ripped off.

Not sure why sellers think as long as it says it does the same thing that they can sell it under a well known brand like MADCATZ when in fact it is some garbage dollar store quality cable.

My kids have a Nintendo 64, GameCube and PlayStation 2. This cable cannot connect to both of the Nintendo devices at the same time. The length of the connectors is not long enough and makes it very tight to connect multiple devices. Otherwise okay for the price.

I ordered this "Madcatz" cable set with my mind set on it being better quality than the typical made in china cable set you see on all the other cable sets on amazon, but when i received it, it was another typical made in china cable set which i wanted to stay away from. just from the look of the cables i already knew they were not worth what i paid for, so I ended up exchanging emails with the seller and he offered to give me a 6 dollar refund if i kept the cables; which i ended up keeping because i didn't wan't to deal with the fact that you can't even trust sellers on amazon anymore. You could even tell through the emails that this guy was not american due to some very simple grammar issues. Overall i think this item should be removed or, at least, they should change the picture to what they really send... Big waste of time... Don't buy...

I just picked up this import and have not quit playing it! This game finally lets you be the "thug" you've always dreamed about being. The game is presented beautifully, from the cartoon-ish graphics right down to the city's themselves. The breaks between stages are absolutely AMAZING! The animation is beautiful! I also love the option to create your own tags or download them via internet. But all in all, we can't forget the music. If this game had a soundtrack, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The music goes along perfectly with the games atmosphere and frantic play. My only complaint on this game is (with almost every other game with it) is the camera. Hopefully this will be fixed for the American version. This game is THE reason to buy a dreamcast. I can safely say this game blows Crazy Taxi out of the water. If you have a DC, BUY THIS GAME!

Jet Grind Radio is yet another impressively creative title to come out of Sega (which is why I'm so fond of Sega), and definitely rates as a success.

The concept is simple, you skate around towns, tagging (spraypainting) certain objects while evading police officers, police dogs, rockets from helicopters, and other baddies. The animation style is really what cements the experience as being something out of the ordinary, though. Dubbed "cel-shading", the end result is something that looks very much like a cartoon. It's really beautiful to watch as well as play.

The gameplay is fun, but has some problems. The first, which likely everyone has addressed, is camera control. There are 3 unused buttons on the controller, and the developers still decided for some unknown reason to double up controls. It's annoying, but you learn to live with it. The other issue that bugs me is that you're constantly on the run from police with no real defense other than fleeing.

One other problem I have is with the menu system. When you boot up, you're given the choice of starting a new game, playing a tutorial, or loading an existing file. However, once you have a game in play (through creating a new game or loading), you have to reboot the system to load another. This is really a patently ridiculous feature and particularly annoying if you like alternating w/ a friend but keep seperate game files.

One other note I should make is that the worlds may seem smaller than they were described by other reviewers at first. I was pretty aggravated and disappointed for a while until I got far enough that I was actually given the opportunity to skate more or less freely without worry of harassment by police, etc.. It's a bit into the game, but worth noting if you get discouraged.

All in all, Jet Grind Radio is still a fantastic game, and definitely a game to get for the Dreamcast. There are minor points that really should have been taken care of, but other than that, a solid effort.

Best Deals for Jet Grind Radio

Really worth much more than the price tag, this is a game that anyone will like. The fairly juvenile premise did turn a lot of folks off when the game was first released (myself included) but I am very glad I looked past that and picked it up.

Awesome gameplay, good cohesive storyline, fresh stylish animation, very inventive and compelling level design that shows how much the Dreamcast as a system is capable of. Not to mention a fairly decent amount of playtime in order to beat it, no arcade 5-minutes-and-you're-done syndrome. Cruise around a portion of the city, bumping off opponents & painting over their graffiti. Eventually the cops show up, which you can usually deal with just be keeping active and running away. But then the Chief shows up, and this dirtbag has a loaded gun! I still get freaked out when I try to run away and the dude is firing live rounds in my general direction as he's chasing. Yikes!

All I can say is "Try it, you'll like it!" It may not be the ultimate skating simulator, but it isn't meant to be. There really are so few decent original action games for the Dreamcast and that makes Jet Grind Radio stand out that much more. The game is pure fun, no matter what age you are.

Honest reviews on Jet Grind Radio

…But the world turns a deaf ear. ...As gazed at, I really began to wonder to myself; "Did it do that bad commercially?" Apparently so. But then again, brilliance is often over-looked at first.

If there has been one thing that I have wanted to applaud Sega for, it was for trying something different. Attacking the norm and attempting to elicit a reaction from it. Games like Crazy Taxi; Shenmue, Metropolis Street Racer, and now Jet Grind Radio have all tried to do something different from the competition (with varying results and success). Which is what brings me to Jet Grind Radio. I think its entire purpose was to try some thing different and be able to get a person to put down another rehashed, "up-dated" and try something new for a change. That alone was why I took notice of the game (I'm a sucker for creative, quality products).

…And quality is what JGR shows. From its unique and very colorful "cel-shaded" graphics, to it's amazingly good J-pop/hip-hop/trance/electronica soundtrack (I'm not normally keen on most of the for mentioned, but I found it quite endearing this time), this game is bursting at the seems with personality. The characters (a bizarre and interesting mix of roller skating punks called "Rudies"), the graffiti tags (which look great) and the cityscapes are all well crafted and implemented well.

But with out quality game-play, this game would just be another pretty face for the next-generation systems (something that seems all too common in most games these days). Luckily JGR talented team of designers also made this game an absolute blast to play. Essentially what JGR is non-linear mix of roller-blading and spray painting in which you must paint designated areas as fast and as smoothly as possible. The painting is done simply by walking up to an arrow and pressing the spray button while avoiding cops and other evil figures. Follow the simple analog commands and you're finished. It takes some time getting used to, but the learning curve is so smooth in the game, you won't even notice. But as you will learn the more you play the game, the game's enjoyment is limited only to your own level of creativity. Nearly everything can be grinded or pushed off of to start a combo of linked tricks. And since the spaces of the game are so varied, the possibilities are endless. With a quick, effective and simple trick system, it becomes even more enjoyable.

But alas, this game is not perfect. The camera work tends to be a bit iffy sometimes (and with limited control over it, it can become frustrating). Not all the music is as great as others (songs like "Super Brother", "Dragula", and a few others are just really irritating). The simplistic trick system, though I love it, is certainly going to annoy others who weaned off of Tony Hawk for so long. But none of these things destroy (or even really dent a marvelous game).

So in the end, I guess its up to you. Do you really want another boring, uninspired shooting game? Or how about another dreadful RPG? Jet Grind Radio is the game for people who want something different in their library of games. Heck, it doesn't even have to be that. Buy it because it's fun game. Period.

It's not perfect. The controls could use some work, and some of the levels are overly difficult.

But you can't help but laugh and smile while playing the game. It has a Parappa the Rapper quality. The gameplay isn't perfect, but the fun factor is absolutely over the top. Some of the Japanese tunes are a little quirky, but the majority are hip with deep beats that get even the most jaded gamer (and sister who hates video games) to tap their foot in unison.

Buy it. It's original. It's fun.

These instructions are for Windows 7 64-bit specifically

Do not even take the disc they give you with the receiver out of the bag... it's worthless.

Google "xbox 360 controller pc driver" and the first hit should be a link to the official Microsoft page for the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows.

Under the Support tab you can download the official software, which does work with this HDE 360 Receiver and gives you the on screen display and shows your battery level remaining, etc, just like on the 360 console.

Once the official software has been installed...

Plug in wireless receiver to your PC

Open Device Manager

Right-click "Unknown device" > "Update Driver Software"

"Browse my computer for driver software"

"Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

Highlight "Show All Devices" > Click Next

WAIT... it may take a second to load if your PC is slow

Under Manufacturer select "Microsoft"

Under Model select "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349 [8/13/2009]"

Click Next

When you get prompted for the Update Driver Warning click "Yes"

When you right-click and open Properties on the receiver in Device Manager, open the Driver tab and you should see the following:

Driver Provider: Microsoft

Driver Date 8/13/2009

Driver Version: 2.1.0.1349

THAT was the key for my installation on Windows 7 64-bit, the default driver it was finding before was dated 2006 and did NOT work even though it did recognize the receiver.

Once your receiver is working, click the sync button on both the receiver and your wireless 360 controller and you should see a pop up from your System Tray about "USB Input Device" was detected... your controller is now synced.

If you open the Game Controllers menu under Control Panel you should now see the 360 receiver listed, and you can click Properties and verify visually that all buttons, thumb-sticks, etc are working properly and you can even perform calibration of the analog inputs should they need it but I wouldn't bother unless you notice an issue.

For $12'ish shipped this is an excellent value IF it keeps working long term I will be very happy. Microsoft did not stop making the official receiver, they just decided to stop selling it individually. You have to buy the bundle with a new controller, which was foolish of them in my honest opinion and why you see all these knock-off's online.

I had previously been using my PS3 controller on my PC via a software called "DS3 Tool" by "MotionJoy" which you can look up online as well... even works with BlueTooth supposedly. A good alternative if you already have a PS3 controller because no dongle is required and the "DS3 Tool" software is completely free.

I hope this review was helpful for anyone hesitant to give this a try or having issues with the receiver driver installation.

EDIT 01/06/13 I've been using it for a few months now with zero issues, thing works like a charm. Also thanks everyone for responding that these instructions were helpful, and I took note of some suggestions and modified the above instructions to reflect that the official M$ driver / software should be installed before you do anything.

I've been using this dongle to rock the new Steam Big Picture mode and it works perfectly... :)

Okay so there's a setup guide I'm going to tell you I learned from a review (I'm not stealing them I'm just re posting so new buyers can see.)

These instructions are for Windows 7 64-bit and also for Windows 8 64-bit specifically.

My product came in the mail in about 3-5 days. Really fast and in perfect condition. It works perfectly with Steam Big Picture mode and flawless with XPadder. Be sure to give the original guide poster credit too!

Best Deals for HDE Wireless Receiver compatible w/ Xbox 360 controller to PC

Does not work in Windows 8, which seems to be a common complaint. After 2 hours of searching forums and continually deleting and reinstalling drivers, I'm officially done trying.

EDIT: Got it working under Win 8, 64-Bit, but it's still somewhat of a pain. Here are the steps:

1) Install Microsoft's 360 controller software. If you Google "microsoft 360 drivers" it will be the second hit from the top.

2) With receiver plugged in, go to Device Manager > Other Devices.

3) You should see an Unknown Device. Uninstall its drivers.

4) Unplug receiver, then plug it back in.

5) You should see the same Unknown Device reappear under Other Devices.

6) Update Drivers for Other Device.

7) Select "Browse my computer for device software" then "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

8) Choose Microsoft as the manufacturer, then look towards the bottom of the list for "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows" and install the software.

9) At this point (hopefully) you should be able to sync the devices together.

Note that if you disconnect the receiver you will need to redo the steps above. So yeah, I can confirm that it does work under Windows 8.

I followed the instructions given by the customer review and it worked perfectly. I tried using the CD and the instructions that were included but they either didn't work or were too complicated. I just downloaded the software from the microsoft website and followed the instructions in the customer review and now it works perfectly.

I'm glad it works, it's a generic brand, so if you want to play the old Xbox games off of this hard drive. You can't. I didn't know that until after I ordered it

Like most on here, I got the drive for a 4GB console. It was actually intended to replace a 320GB model from AGPtek, as it had begun to display erratic behavior (games couldn't be read from disk in the middle of gameplay, "unformatting" itself, etc.) and needed to be replaced. I got the drive and re-installed everything (my girlfriend's ISP probably hates me at this point, but that's a story for another time), and the unit seemed to work fine for a day or two. The console is now throwing exception code E68, which is indicative of a broken hard drive. I'm not hearing any clicking or other mechanical failure, so I'm not quite sure what is up. Sure, it's quite a bit cheaper, and the 320GB drive lasted for a year, so I'm not going to completely rate them at the bottom of the scale. However, it is bothersome, and I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to return it it yet. If the errors don't stop, I'm going to send it back and get the genuine Microsoft unit. It's annoying, to say the least, that one has to buy hard drives specifically FOR the 360. It's a SATA notebook drive, just like the 2.5" unit in your laptop.

Received my purchase quickly and it works good. Doesn't charge as fast as name brand by Microsoft, but still gets a good charge in (The batteries may have charged slow because its first charge). I bought this to upgrade from the charge cable, which will fry your batteries or not charge correctly. Not at all disappointed. But hey, whos knows of the future? I'll update this review if anything happens.

It doesn't seem to have happened yet and hopefully it wont, but the last time i stuck a Nyko battery in a charging station it done went and melted. Be wary...

Addition: Did some really crappy math for the battery life, They should and seem to last about 8.5 to 9.6 hours. 2400mAh ÷ 250mA = 9.6 hours

However, not being name brand and made with cheaper materials. I would assume the total lifespan is much shorter than name brand. Maybe we will pay more in the long run?

UPDATE 10/16/2012: Just wanted to update this while im on amazon looking at my amazing and yet sloppy reviews. This product is still working very well, absolutely no problems what so ever. I was right about the battery life as well. They last 9 Hours. Technically 7 8 considering this is the time your controller does the really annoying blinking and your like "F&@! it! Ill change the battery!" But everything is great, my batteries are allows charged and i actually like it better than name brand. Note: Better than Name Brand.

i dont understand why my questions were about a game when it was an accessory, but I give it 4 stars overall. The price was amazing! I couldn't have paid less anywhere. I love not having to run through packs of batteries just to play video games. The batteries stay charged for a long time, and they really don't take that long to recharge. It is great that it came with two battery packs. It allowed for continual play. There is no more having to wait for one to charge. :)

Borderlands Double Game Add-On Pack: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned / Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This is a very fun add-on to Borderlands: you need Borderlands and a hard drive to benefit from this expansion. It's really 2 things, the Moxxi Underdome and the zombie island. I love the zombie stuff: fun, fun, fun. I like the zombie expansion better than Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil. A variety of new enemies and environments: you start in a "bayou" area that is just good old-fashioned horrifying fun: zombies popping out of the muck and trying to eat your brains. The new missions in Moxxi's Underdome are ok so far, nothing great. The real plus of the Underdome area is a bank that lets you stash items rather than make the tough choice to sell some of those things you like but don't have space to carry.

This expansion comes in two parts: The underdome and Dr. Ned's Zombie Island.

Both are very fun, and quite challenging. They require new techniques apart from the normal campaign. For example, on the Zombie Island, corrosive weapons are nearly useless against the zombies while explosvie are among the most effective.

The Zombie Island add-on is well worth playing, and can add another 10-12 hours of gameplay onto the original game. There are new enemies and challenges that you do not get in the original game. The XP gained and weapons collected in these missions carry over to the main game. The integration is pretty seamless in that regard.

The underdome is a slightly more frustrating add on, but it is a fun way to play with friends and re-play bosses and enemies you have played in the original campaign. There are different strengths and weaknesses given to you in every round in the different domes, and creative challenges put in place against your enemies. Very fun, but it can be very frustrating. You can keep the weapons that spawn for you (sometimes eridian weapons), but you gain no XP just for playing. I havent been able to beat a single dome yet after many attempts.

Overall, this is a 4-star recommended add-on with plenty of worthy content to make a great game even better!

Best Deals for Borderlands Double Game Add-On Pack: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

I absolutely LOVED the original Borderlands one of the best games of last year in my opinion. Great shooter action, tons of different weapons, excellent humor!! The add-on pack totally delivered a "post game fix"!!! The add-on was HUGE and almost like a whole new game! The only other xbox 360 "add-on" I'd done before was for Fallout 3, and I was SO happy with it AND Borderlands.

Honest reviews on Borderlands Double Game Add-On Pack: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

It will not work the slim line if it still has a internal 4G flash drive vs an installed hard drive (i.e. 60/120 gigs).

I love the zombie island of Dr. Ned! It is such a blast! I can compare it to zombies on call of duty except it's not rounds of zombies coming at you in the same place. There are a few missions to do and things to find and experience to gain! Mad Moxxi's underdome riot is extremely hard. It says in the mission log that it is a level 15 mission but I beg to differ. My husband and I tried it at level 20 something and we got our butts handed to us on the second round of the second room. We haven't played it since that and we are level 35 now, we plan to try again tonight. It is fun and it will be something we play a lot when we get to be a much higher level with our characters.

SOULCALIBUR Reviews

SOULCALIBUR

as someone that own this on the Dreamcast, i can say that this is almost a perfect copy. it has all the fighters and moves, but its missing the mission mode. the mission mode was how you unlocked fighters and weapens in the dreamcast version. in this version, they are already unlocked for you. i would highly recommend this game for folks that never owned a dreamcast and want to play one of its gems.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The original Soul Calibur debuted in the Arcade in 1998. And though it wasn't popular in the Arcade initially, it did have an enormous release on the Dreamcast. The original Soul Calibur is said to be one of the greatest games of all time. It's a shame then, that the XBOXLive Arcade game is more insistent on porting over the Arcade version as opposed to the Dreamcast variation of the game. The variation that was, by all standards, a far superior version. And more than that, the game was left in the standard 4:3 ratio.

That's not to say that any of this makes SoulCalibur in and of itself a bad game. The original game is still fantastic to this day. It is a marvelous game that any fan of the fighting genre ought to take a moment to play and get acquainted with because there are not many fighting games out there like it. It ranks highly among critics and fans for a reason (it is also one of the few video games to retain its five star rating on Amazon.com after all these years). This review isn't here to talk about the mechanics of SoulCalibur, however. Or how fantastic it is. It is here to talk about the conversion and how I feel XBOXLive Arcade owners aren't being allowed to have the full experience of the game in and of itself.

One of the reasons that SoulCalibur was so jaw dropping and defining upon its original release was because the home console release included so much more than the Arcade release. It included a lot more modes and things to do than what the Arcade could actually provide. There was more than Arcade. There was a survival mode and a mission mode to keep you going. There was also plenty of things given to you as a result of mission mode. You collected points to unlock Artwork. But Mission Mode is gone. This may not be a big deal, but this is sort of what really separated SoulCalibur from its Arcade Counterpart. The fact that there was an actual single player experience. And the missions were quite amusing and interesting. Players were actually working toward something by unlocking artwork. The Art Gallery is still here, at least and you get all the artwork, but it begs the question as to why they opted not to provide anything else. Granted it is XBOXLive Arcade, but we've seen some other games on XBLA that aren't specifically Arcade stylized in their approach. Games like Scott Pilgrim or Castle Crasher or the newly released Battleblock Theater all have distinctly console style things about them as well. SoulCalibur isn't a lazy port, it's just one that feels like it could've given players everything. The Dreamcast version isn't rare by any means, but the Dreamcast version is the only version where gamers can get the full experience of what the original SoulCalibur is. And it feels like the XBOXLive Arcade has taken that away.

We haven't even gotten into the things that would've been a nice touch that they nothing with. Yes, the graphics are HD but not going the extra mile to provide a 16:9 wide screen presentation is kind of lazy considering they had no problem doing this with other ports to the XBLA. Again, these are things that might not be so bothersome in the long run... but for much of this, it seems like it would be more worthwhile to find a used Dreamcast and a used copy of the game. You'd get more bang for your buck in terms of content and you'd hardly notice some of the more artistic changes. The original Soul Calibur is still a gorgeous game no matter how you slice it, and playing in Standard Definition is not going to change that.

What is more than likely going to disappoint many players, however, is that the port to the XBLA has no online support whatsoever. Other fighting games put on the Arcade were given online support to be able to play against anyone.

Soul Calibur is a great fighting game. One that should be played by everyone. It's just a shame that so much of the XBLA port is a very watered down version of the classic we've all come to love over the years, and that most of us still retain memories for. If you still have a Dreamcast, you're better off trying to find a copy for that system. If not, the XBOXLive Arcade is not the definitive way to experience this classic.

Best Deals for SOULCALIBUR

Soulcalibur is Hands down one of the best Fighting Games ever!

And without a Doubt the Best/Must Own Dreamcast game ever! The 360 Arcade version is Close to Perfect!

A Major Plus a HD Version which is killer

The Controls being shifted from the DC Controller to the 360 Controller are very good once u get the feel for the layout.

If you are a fan of Fighting Games or just a Super fan of Games that are just Fun and Pure at the same time

It's a Must have Arcade Title 10/10

I knew what I was in for when I bought this game because it was a movie game. It's a game that is not finished and lacking depth in terms of modes and campaign length. However, I also knew that this is a game by the team that made Transformers War for Cybertron. So I knew I would get, solid gameplay mechanics and a multiplayer that was hectic and fun. This game is basically a mod of Transformers WFC. There are some changes made to the multiplayer such as unique abilities as well as unique guns for each character. There are also powerups scattered throughout the maps which adds depth to the gameplay. Besides the fact the multiplayer is lacking in some areas such as not enough characters or map packs(hopefully free dlc), I really enjoyed it.

If you liked Transformers WFC then I would recommend this game. Just don't expect a sequel to WFC, just think of it as a spinoff.

Pros

+ Unique Characters for online play

+ Unique Weapons for each character

+ No double jumping which means no more bunny hopping for scouts

+ Fun and Hectic Multiplayer

+ Decent Campaign

+ Multiplayer seems a little more balanced then WFC

+ Same great sound from WFC

Cons

Campaign is short

No co-op in campaign mode

Needs more maps and characters in multiplayer(this can be addressed)

Some graphical glitches

Control issues with hunters in jet mode

No escalation mode

Took away development time from Transformers WFC 2

the game is very fun and the controls are exactly the same as war for cybertron which is overall a better choice than dark of the moon. My main complaint is how short the game is : 7 missions which on easy or medium should take 5-6 hours to complete the game. All of the achievements are easy to get besides two. don't worry about spoilers because it is a prequel and takes place days from the movie's events. The multiplayer is good but the autobots are overpowered because of warpath bumblebee and ironhide. I can't say you should pick it up immediately because of how short the game is but, you have to rent it you will most likely beat it while renting it.

If you want to play a game for the storyline fun, don't pick this game. If you don't care about storyline and play for gameplay/action this is fine.

Fun Parts:

Fighting Shockwaves "Beast"

Playing as Megatron

Getting to play as Autobots or Deceptacons

Play as Starscream [my favorite level]

Bad Parts:

Bought this headset a week ago to play with Modern Warfare 3. Always heard people talking about listening for footsteps and how it helped so I wanted to try it out but I wanted a cheap set. These are great! The sound is excellent, with the right perks in MW3 you can hear everything, footsteps, bullet casings hit the ground, everything sounds so amazing with these headphones!

They're light and comfy enough too that you can wear them for a while and not notice it. Played for about 4 hours the other night (oops) and never once did I feel uncomfortable or have to take them off for a break! So glad I bought these, definitely worth the price and then some!

I decided to go ahead and take the plunge and order this after reading all the positive reviews, which seem to outweigh the negative ones... a few things you should be aware of:

if your xbox is connected to the tv via an hdmi cable ...which more than likely it is since most people nowadays have a high definition TV and want to take advantage of those crisp, sharp hdmi graphics.... then you WILL need what is referred to as a "xbox 360 audio adapter cable" from some third party seller in order to make use of this product.. I have an xbox 360 "slim" or "S" version, no idea if the audio adapter cables designed for the older (non slim, white not black colored) xbox 360's will work for the xbox 360 slim but I THINK they might... these adapters are relatively cheap, can be found for under five dollars including shipping and handling on ebay (or around the same price on amazon if you order twenty five or more dollars total to qualify for the whole free shipping and handling deal)

the packaging the TV comes in says you can use the "tv audio out jacks found on most tv's" to use the turtle headset without the need for an audio adapter... what makes me nervous is I purchased the Panasonic VIERA TC-P54VT25 high definition television which won various awards and was considered to be THE tv of the year and it had no audio out jacks just audio in jacks... if a TV that distinguished didn't have audio out jacks it makes me wonder if the TV's that didn't get any awards would really have audio out jacks?

reading through the complaints listed for such audio adapter cables leaves me a bit nervous ... there seem to be a fair number of complaints about them not working though the number of "I'm happy with this" comments seem to outweigh the negative ones.

a google search for " AV Adapter Hack Optical and HDMI Output on Xbox 360 Simultaneously youtube" may be of interest to you... I had absolutely no interest in mucking around with my own xbox equipment in the way the video described so a friend got a hold of an old microsoft brand device like the one the person describes in his video and did the modification mentioned in the video... I found that that connecting this to the turtle headset's red and white jacks then plugging it into the "component audio in" holes on the TV made the headset work... for some reason the "video" ports refused to cooperate even though they are also red and white colored like the component ones. Make sure you set your tv's audio option to "component" in the TV menu (which you should be able to access via your tv remote) if you go this route

I found the sound pumped through the headset to be , as other reviewers have described, fantastic, you do indeed hear little details you don't through the tv speakers as far as the mike when she first used it my daughter complained that her voice "echoes" when she hears it and other persons gaming with her on the various xbox live games also reported that her voice echoed... later on as the game went on the echoes faded and both she and friends online reported that her voice sounded "normal" this is the first time she's using the headset so could be just something as simple as the wireless internet connection in our house possibly giving issues...

read the instructions that come with the headset carefully it's very easy to get the wire that connects the headset to the xbox controller (so you can use the microphone part of the headset) reversed or plugged in "upside down" in such a way that it won't work... pay close attention to the "xbox 360 chat setup" diagram on page 5 of the instructions "connect the talkback cable" .. pay very close attention to the ends of the cable, note that oene has an "L" shape that plugs directly into the xbox controller, the other "straight" one connects into the white box thing on the headset

on the same page 5, the "configure xbox 360 settings"... it's not available to me when I access xbox, doesn't show up as an option.... not sure if the latest update to the xbox 360 interface (which automatically downloads if you have your xbox connected to the internet) involved microsoft getting rid of this menu... if so that's rather disturbing I would have liked to see the voice menu options remain such as "voice output play through headset" ... perhaps this is why my daughter's voice echoes when she uses the mike?

the part of the headset that connects via usb to xbox provides electrical power to the headset so it can function.... not sure but I don't think it "carries" your voice into the microphone (which is what I was thinking it would do since other xbox devices work that way)

the cables for the headset are satisfyingly long... my daughter is able to sit on a couch in the living room with the xbox all the way across from her next to the TV and the cables are still long enough to not present a problem.

Overall it seems to be an okay headset for the money spent ... I do wonder if it's worth the entire purchase price especially given the hassle you have to go through as far as the initial setup though for all I know perhaps all xbox headset/microphone combo's give this sort of headache? Or are there better ones out there that are totally usb plug and play into the xbox, no need to worry about red or white audio jacks and away you go.. but if you go that route does the usb mean the sound quality is worse? People more well versed than I in xbox hardware and audio equipment will have to figure this one out...

Best Deals for Turtle Beach Ear Force XL1 Amplified Wired Headset with Mic (White)

I bought this Ear Force XL1 headset a month or two ago. It's good for sound quality, it's durable, and the cords are very long (useful if you sit far away from your Xbox). I had a pair of wireless Turtle Beaches a few years ago, and while they were good, there was often feedback from the transmitter and they lost connection fairly regularly. So, I was not exactly ready to drop any money on another wireless headset. The XL1 is a low-price headset, and the features are good for the price. The sound isn't going to blow you away, but it's a nice solution for late-night gaming. I'd give this headset a higher rating, but there's one HUGE problem with them.

The built-in microphone is incredibly noisy and my Xbox Live friends refuse to play with me if I'm using it. They complain that all they can hear is feedback from the game I'm playing, and my voice comes out garbled and muddy. I tested it with people out of my friends list, and same thing: very annoying feedback. I've given up on using the mic altogether, so I really only use the headset now for offline and solo gaming. Perhaps this is only an issue with my pair, because I've not seen much on other sites describing the same problem. Maybe I'm unlucky, but I can't give this a great review because of this issue.
