I had a USB wireless headset before this, but it became broken so I gave this a try. The communicator has nothing on a USB wireless headset, but it is very mobile and does not get much in the way.

PROS: Good Range, Sounds decent, Easy to use and pair with Phone and PS3

CONS: Mic can have a bit of static, you can't mute it (thats bad when you want to talk to others in the room instead of the game), the ear clip easily comes off and can be lost (I've lost mine a few times)

Enjoyed playing XBOX360 with my X31 headset ,but then wanted the same enjoyment with PS3.

Not possible till ear force PBT was brought to my notice, now i get the best out of both game consules

Thank you Turtle Beach.

Works great for phone and ps3 (main reason why I got it). The sound quality is acceptable for price. It is very easy to use. It only uses one button so learning how to use different features can be difficult (especially switching from PS3 to answer a call. whatever. Great price, fast shipping, good enough quality.

Honest reviews on Ear Force PBT Bluetooth Communicator for PS3

I have a few days with this item and there is no problem yet! I've been playing for a good amount of hours testing this out and so far, everything looks good! There are a few complaints about the low quality in the voice volume but I think if you move around your headset volume on your ps3, it should put it up a little bit more. I have my heatset at high and also on my ps3, I have it on level 5 . It sounds perfect to me! Not as loud where you get headaches, but not as low as for you to not hear what the other is saying!

Battery life is what its stated! Once received, leave it charging for about 4 hours. Battery does last a good 5 hours or more non-stop. Standby of course, last longer. I say for a bout 12 hours or more. 5 stars

First and foremost, I have had this product for well over a month now. The dual pairing technology to the PS3 and cell phone is what makes this product amazing. The voice quality is top notch. It is also very simple to use. Another neat thing to comment about is the fact that I can also now use my Xbox X31 headset on my PS3. This also works very nicely. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a PS3 and cell phone combination.

At $4.99 at the time of this review I would recommend getting Krieg. I think $4.99 is a good price for an add-on character. And if you're into melee and hacking and slashing then Krieg will be one of your favorites. I like playing as him and to get his skills are super awesome when you down to the bottom of his skill trees.

This product will activate on steam for Mac and PC just use the code you get from Amazon and go inside the steam client to Games/Activate game it works great.

Well I am off to ride the poop train!

PS when you're playing as Krieg if you listen for a softer voice in the background that tries to calm him down that is Krieg's former self trying to talk him back to the light, but of course Krieg isn't having it

The game devs really went "opposite" with Psycho. You have to play with him near death to make best use of his abilities. And he becomes awesome at higher levels when he is breathing fire out of his mouth like a dragon. So, be very warned, it makes him a challenging character to play.

bottomline:

If you want a challenge in BL2? this is a 5 star review of Psycho. Get it. You'll enjoy the craziness of trying to keep Psycho alive when he is low level.

On the other hand -If you get tired of him dying 1 second before "second wind" kicks in (death admittedly has very little penalty in the game), this is a 2 star review. It doesnt help that you are somewhat restrained in using fire based elemental weapons since that is his greatest weapon-based perk. If the above sounds annoying, I dont think you'll like playing the Psycho character.

Best Deals for Borderlands 2 Psycho Pack

Wow... just wow. That's the best way to describe Krieg. With one of the most potentially fascinating backstories in all of the Borderlands series, Krieg is a hoot to play as well. Basically, think of any thing you're NOT supposed to do as a standard player class. Got those in mind? Good. At least one of Krieg's skill trees either involves or focuses on you doing that thing you aren't supposed to do.

There's Mania, which encourages you to be a low health and no shields as frequently as possible so you spend most of your time using your Action Skill. There's Hellborn, which encourages you to be ON FIRE (seriously, on fire, as in "fire, hot, ow"). And Bloodlust, which really doesn't care about you killing enemies so much as you using as many different things as possible to damage them, melee, gun, grenade, whatever.

I'd already picked up Krieg earlier, but when I saw it on sale here I had to grab it for my friends. The process was easy and I was able to pick up three keys without issue, which I promptly texted to my friends. They were quite happy.

Some general advise for anyone buying the DLC here: don't bother with the games downloader for this one. Krieg is just an unlock, and what's more content for BL2 has to be downloaded through Steam anyway. Just go to your games library (Account > Your Games & Software Library) and get the key that way, then enter it in the "Add a game..." option in Steam. Way easy.

Honest reviews on Borderlands 2 Psycho Pack

I really like this particular character. It adds a different spin on the Borderlands 2 characters. His special is melee based so it's "similar" to Brick (BL1) but he uses a spinning axe and can throw it. I haven't maxed him out yet but so far it's extremely satisfying to run up to enemies and melee them causing extreme damage. You can lvl him up through his skill tree in a way so you can almost use his special all the time...literally; he's almost over powered at times.

If you want a different styled character where you don't fully rely on gun power but special power, then this is definitely the pack for you. Even if you're curious about it I'd say it's pretty worth it. I got it for a discounted price and I haven't played it enough to tell if it's worth the full $10 but so far I have 0 complaints. And from what I've seen on Youtube and such he seems like a very fun and ridiculously crazy character to play at max lvl.

i ordered a replacement shell for my beat up xbox 360 controller but the thumbsticks did not fit right and were pretty cheap, so i ordered these from llama. They came and they looked awesome, didnt have that cheap plastic smell and the rubber grip was pretty good it had less grip than the microsoft ones but they get the job done and are pretty comfortable even after long sessions of play and respond well with fps. The d pad isnt really that great but it works and the 360 never had a decent d pad anyway. Make sure you install them correctly i didnt push them down enough at first and they got stuck but after making sure it went in all they way (hehe) it was smooth sailing from there. Now the pair i got had some left over plastic on the underside of the grip im guessing from the mold and it kinda messed up the sprinting in some games but just pulled it off and it was good. Even with its faults these are really good replacements and i am very happy with them.

Discount Rabbids: Alive & Kicking

Rabbids: Alive & Kicking
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My family has been playing Rabbids for a few days now and it is a game that the entire family loves. The game is rated E-10+. My 4 and 7 year-olds are able to play the games but three in particular are for more mature children, those being Buttock-o-gram, Horse Jockey, and Silhouet.

Also a warning about the game Headbutts: This game could cause injury. Please bend at the waist and rock or "headbutt" with your entire torso and not your neck. Make sure your neck is always aligned with your torso and don't jar it. It's still possible to play this safer way and win. No need to head butt and tweak your neck and injure yourself.

While the menu is fairly user friendly to maneuver, it is often easier to use a control. The "hand" version is very sensitive and with so much on the menu, it is easy to miss the option you are trying to choose.

The directions are sometimes vague and that can be frustrating in some of the games.

There is no "exit" to the party games once they are started. The party games have the potential to last for several hours. An option to exit would be nice.

The disc has 34 Quick Play games, 3 party games (one which utilizies the quick play games), there is an extra category that I haven't yet explored and then some additional features that I also didn't explore as of yet.

The quick play games can accommodate 1-4 players (depending on the game). The party games can accommodate up to 16 players.

A brief rundown of the quick play games. I may have the names of the games a bit wrong. I was trying to jot down notes in between games and must have been really into the games as I couldn't read some of my handwriting.

1. Hacked OffUp to 2 players. Think old time magic shows where the magician saws his assistant in half. The rabbids are in a tower of blocks. The players work together to saw the block, then kick it out of the way.

2.Udder NonsenseUp to 3 players. You are a cheerleader and must follow the moves of the cow mascot. Examples of the moves are the chicken and the madador. Fun types of movements.

3. Slapping StationUp to 2 players. The Rabbids are hangning out of train cars. You must slap them as they go by, reaching or squatting depending on where they are. If two players are slapping, they are instructed to switch sides.

4. Crazy SalesUp to 2 players. You are a security guard in a mall. You must run and punch your way through a crowd of Rabbids.

5. Rabbids in the Hole1 player. This one has several levels that can be unlocked. Think old school Donkey Kong type of screen. You have to maneuver 3 rabbids into a designated area by pressing buttons to make ramps and floors to get the beam you want them on.

6.Flaming balls of fireUp to 2 players. Firestation. There is a fire pole on each side of a truck where two rabids are roasting marshmallows. The balls of flaming marshmallows get loose and the player must reach and squat to move their firefighter up and down the pole to deflect the fire. Much like old school Pong. Very fun.

7. Salmon Rush DayUp to 2 players. Swim upstream like a salmon trying to hit some targets and avoid some obstacles. Full use of body in this one.

8. Rabzilla-Up to 2 players. The monster Rabizilla is throwing things. A target appears in the spot you must reach for in order to keep the projectiles from hitting you.

9. Life's A Beach-Up to 2 players. Crazy Rabids in diving masks are making their way toward you. You must pump and aim water at them before they reach you.

10. Hot Dogs in Danger-Up to 2 players. You are in a hot dog suit and protecting a bunch of hot dogs. You must block the rabids with your weiner suit and then shake them off so that you can block more.

11.Pumped UpUp to 2 players. You are a body builder. There is a picture of the pose you must stand in. Do this and your muscles pump up.

12. Rabbid -o-meter-1 player. The Rabbid is in a car wash. The player must MAKE NOISE to get the rabbid to walk to the obstacles to hurt it. Not a fan of the noise making.

13. Snot Funny-1 player. I thought this one was hard. A rabbid sneezes. You must spin to make a fake boogie fling to the rabbid. I wasn't successful at this game at all.

14. Tenderfoot Dance-Up to 2 players. Players move around to avoid projectiles.

15. Wack-a-Rabid-Up to 2 players. Stomp and kick the rabbids that appear from the ground.

16.Sauce Wars-Up to 2 players. A rabbid makes a mess on the floor. Move your feet as if you were speed skating to clean up the mess.

17. Guitar ZeroUp to 2 players. This game has levels/songs to unlock. This is a family favorite. Follow color coded notes to "catch" them on your guitar.

18. Big Brother-Up to 4 players. Another faily favorite. You are standing behind 2 oblivious rabbids. You wiggle and dance. When it looks like they are going to turn around, you must run and hide. So much fun.

19. Now You See Me-Up to 4 players. You are in a dark room. The rabids have a spotlight that they are shinging in the window. You must duck and jump to avoid being detected by the light.

20. Inner Journey-Up to 4 players. You sit on the floor for this game. You lean forward to move through the body of a rabbid. Some targets you want to hit, some you want to avoid.

21. Silhouet-Up to 4 players. This is one of the games that is iffy for younger children. You are in the shower, behind a curtain. An image appears on the curtain. You and the other players must maneuover your bodies to form that image. This is hard. The key isn't to fill the shadow but to point your body in the direction that the game wants you to. So, if you cheat, the shadow won't register. For example, one image was like a sumo wrestler squatting. I didn't necessarily fill the entire shadow but my feet and hands were in the right direction so I succeeded at that shape.

22. Ninja YoyoUp to 2 players.I still don't know how to play this game. It is like a bungi jump. I have yet to score points on this one.

23. D.J. Sniper-Up to 2 players. Another game that I don't really know how to play yet. You are supposed to "quick draw" once the disc is thrown. Again, no clue how to actually play this one since I have yet to score points on it.

24. Rabbid Skin. Up to 2 players. You have to dodge a target for 10 seconds.

25. Bon Appetit. Up to 2 players. Move your body to clean/suck up a trail of spaghetti sauce.

26. Buttock-o-gram. 1 player. This is another iffy game for young people. You face your rear to the Kinnect and must wiggle your booty in the same pattern that is shown on the game.

27. Horse Jockey-Up to 2 players. This one you are on a pretend horse. You have to kind of hump the horse to get it moving. This is the third game that is questionable for a younger audience.

28. Run Rabbid Run-Up to 2 players. You have to run over 80 meters within a certain amount of time. You have to exaggerate your leg movements for it to read them.

29. Rabbid-o-tron 1-Up to 2 players. This is a trivia/brain teaser type of game. The players must be able to read. You have a certain amount of time to read the question and look at the screen. Then the images go away and you have to choose the correct answer.

30. Rabbid-o-tron 2-Same as above but with a different type of question.

31. Rabbid-o-tron 3Same as above but with a different type of question.

32. Rabbid-o-tron 4-Same as above but with a different type of question.

33. Rabbid-o-tron 5-Same as above but with a different type of question.

34. Pie face-Up to 2 players. Use your body to move around the pie tin to "eat" it.

35. Scanner Surprise-Up to 2 players. Use your hands to clean off the xray film to see the silly xray.

There are 3 party games, Forfeits, The Kitten, and Carrot Juice. In the interest of getting this review posted quickly for hoiday shoppers, I am posting before having played The Kitten and Carrot Juice. I will update my review once I know what those games entail.

In Forfeits, up to 16 people can play. You set up a character for each player. Kinnect takes a photo of the player and the voice can be recorded. The Xbox picks a random Quick play game and tells which two players will play. The loser has loses points on their meter. He/she then has to do a stunt like singing their least favorite song or do an Irish dance. This is called a forfeit. The other players get to vote on whether the forfeitted player does a good job. If they vote yes (by standing by a thumbs up image), the player doens't lose any additional points on their meter. If they vote no (by standing next to a thumbs down sign), the player loses additional points on their meter. The XBox then chooses another game and players. Once a player's meter hits zero, they are out of the game. The final player with points on their meter wins.

Overall, I love Rabbids. I would buy it. My kids enjoy the quick games. They can easily play it for an hour and get in some exercise and burn off some energy.

Like I mentioned above there were a few games that my husband objected to...which surprised me considering some of the game he plays. So, I do feel the need to deduct a star for that because the games are geared toward minors. Not to say these wouldn't be really funny party games for adults. Anyway, I do recommend this.

It would be helpful if the game included an instruction bookelt and with cautions for the head butt game. But, it's still worth the retail price for what is offered on the disc.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I didn't know what to expect from this game. I thought it may have been one of those "throwaway" Kinect games and wouldn't be very good. Boy, was a wrong! This game is a Gem of mini-game fun! Not so much a party game as it is just a blast to play with multiple players. Our family had big laughs with this game and the wealth of mini-games made it a family favorite. Plus, as with many Kinect games, you get a decent workout! Between jumping, swimming, dancing and even playing the guitar, you get a pretty good workout and have fun doing it. His is one of the best kept Kinect secrets out there.

Best Deals for Rabbids: Alive & Kicking

I enjoy this game, but we thought it would be more fun for parties. When it came time to get a group playing we found it very slow paced. Just way too many time sinks: i.e. the games last like 1 minute then you have 4-5 minutes of set up, loading, photos, etc. Also, at our last party several people forfeited their match by accidentally moving their hand at the wrong time... which really messed things up and is IMHO a very poor design.

Honest reviews on Rabbids: Alive & Kicking

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This game may be a cheap thrill to get the kids, but it just doesn't cut it for anyone else. The mini games are lacking and the forced, exaggerated motions that the player has to make to get the game to respond make things tiresome quickly. I was excited to see the rabbids in action; however, I quickly grew bored. I understand that they are forcing Kinect at people, but this feels like a wasted opportunity, through and through.

If you see this on the discount stand and know some kid with Kinect, this might be worth it. If not, do not bother.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Rabbids: Alive & Kicking

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a fun, unique Kinect game that offers tons of variety and replay value, either alone, or with others. It is important to note that this is a collection of mini-games, not tied together with any story. If you are looking for depth in gaming, this isn't for you.

The games are fun and easy to learn. The Kinect controls are perfect, and I rarely noticed any mistracking or errors due to the Kinect sensor. The games utilize the full ability of Kinect: there's some stomping, throwing, bending, noise making -in essence, if there's something you can do with your body, this game will require you to do it. Some of the games will have you a bit winded, and if you play this game for quite some time, you're getting an effective workout.

The game makes great use of augmented reality to actually put you and your room in the game. One game in particular has you dodging bombs, lasers, and traps as they appear on your room's floor -along with you. Even the opening title sequence places your room into the window of an apartment. It's a great touch and attention to detail.

The real fun occurs when more than one player is involved. The single-player games are modified for multiple players to make use of more than one player -depending on the mode you select, it either requires cooperation or competition. The teamwork modes force you to think quickly and beat the clock, since most of the mini games are two or three minutes. It's great fun for family, especially since the game snaps photos during the sessions and displays them on-screen. A lot of times one player can't really see what the other player is doing, but the photos end up showing the "whole picture".

The game has incredible replay value due to several creative Xbox 360 achievements. The more you play, the more you'll unlock. In this game, it's about quantity and time -the developers made sure you'll come back again and again.

Overall, this is a great game that will make you smile often. It's the type of game that you can play for either a few minutes or for hours at a time, whenever you want to play something that doesn't require too much thinking. I recommend this as a great Kinect game that's really fun for either a single player or a small to large groups.

Year two of my franchise and I'm having trouble stopping. After playing all three baseball games for the X-Box (Triple Play, ASB, WSB) I can say without thinking, WSB beats them both. Triple Play is just plain bad. ASB is very good, almost as good as WSB, but it doesn't offer as many features. Now, back to WSB. Fans of the 2k series of any sport will instantly be familar with the layout of the menus of the game, simple to navigate. I have yet to find a real flaw in the gameplay. It's very easy to pick up and play, the batting, pitching, and fielding all goes very well. The graphics are excellent, the player faces are copies of their real life counterparts. The commentary lives up to the standard that the 2k series has set so far.

One of the games best features is it's franchise mode. For those of you that don't know, it really puts you in the game, you sign coaches, bump up the minor leaguers, sign free agents, and all very easily, not the same clumsy menus of NFL 2k2. I played two seasons as the White Sox, the first went pretty bad, but the second was half decent after I drafted some potential and made some trades. I also beefed up my pitching staff. It really makes you feel like you own the team.

Lastly, for those of you who are very picky on accurate rosters, you'll be pleased. The rosters are, from what I've seen, accurate within very recently.

Overall, this is the baseball game I'd recommend for anyone. If you have doubts, rent it first, but, you probably won't regret buying it.

This is basically a slightly enhanced version of World Series 2002 for the Sega Dreamcast. As such, if you liked WS2K2, you will like WS2K3. Others have focused on the many, many positives of the game (graphics, player animation, pitching control, franchise mode, etc) so I'm going to focus on the few aspects of the game that prevent it from being perfect:

A) I realize that the developers wanted the graphics & animation to be silky smooth, and they are, but that hi-res visual goodness comes at the expense of fielding accuracy. I'll echo the complaint that double-play grounders that should be automatic are far too often not. I'm sorry, but Kevin Young hasn't been seen beating out a DP ball ever. Same goes for outfielders after catching a fly ball. The CPU AI is tight and will run on you at a moment's notice, but the throws from the outfielders are very slow to react when they throw to a base, thus giving an unnecessary edge to baserunners. Both problems would be solved by ironing out the "molasses effect" that restricts fielding.

B) The commentary, while not often incorrect, is horribly bland. The play-by-play is strictly meat-&-potatoes stuff (name & position) and the color commentary is often too generalized and rote. Besides the opening of the game, and maybe during a relief appearance, the announce team will say nothing individualized about any of the players. And there is a glitch when it comes to CPU pinch-hitters: they are 100% always announced as pinch-runners by the color commentator (former SF Giant pitcher Mike Krukow). This might be being tough on the game, but a powerful next-gen console like the XBox deserves better than PS1-era play-by-play announcing. You'll be begging for NFL 2K2's cheesy announce crew by the time 9 innings are up.

C) Make sure you know what base you want to throw to as a fielder, because once you press the button, that's where the throw is going. I have botched a few plays at the plate because at the time I caught it, the runner wasn't tagging, but then he decides to go, but the fielder will throw to whatever base you initially chose. In other words, there is no button override function. This goes similarly for baserunning: if you are halfway down the 1st-base line and push the button to go to second base, then decide against it, make sure you return to 1st base because the game keeps that first button press in memory, but luckily the baserunning allows you to return fairly easily.

D) The graphics often fail to match up to the play being made. A runner attempting to steal might be called out merely because the throw was in time, though the tag was obviously (via replay) not applied at all. The fielders will occasionally pull a Matrix move and magically slide across the field on their feet to make a diving catch. Once again, it's not to much positioning deciding the catch, but general timing. Which again, might be harsh, but in a next-gen universe, these same old shoddy corner-cutting measures need to be cured, or we all might as well go back to MLB '99.

Even with the small gripes, WSB2K3 is still far and away the best choice for baseball on the XBox. And perhaps because the game is so strong in most areas, it leaves itself open to minor criticism in lesser areas. Sorta like pointing out a handful of weeds on an otherwise lush, green lawn. I can only imagine if Sega remedies these small issues, we might be as close to perfection as possible.

Best Deals for World Series Baseball (Xbox)

The much anticipated World Series BB2K3 is a phenomenal effort from Sega, and does not disappoint. The game delivers on all levels:

>> Superb graphics: This game is rich in texture and the graphics are deep. There are hundreds of never seen before action sequences, highlights, play-making shots, slow-mo, instant replay, batting stances, authentic pitching motions, etc., you name it, Sega's done it.

>> Realistic playability: On the "All-Star" mode, the game provides a solid challenge. There'll be close games, occasional blow-outs, hot streaks, cold streaks, etc., just like a season should be.

>> Miscellaneous: Other options include -Extensive franchise mode to test your managerial aptitude; Legend Mode where you can play with the likes of Cobb, Mays and DiMaggio; Create-a-Player mode (where you can choose gloves, shoes, sleeves, bat color, stance, power, speed, etc.); Season, Playoff, Quick Start modes; Home Run Derby ---basically, there's enough exciting options for hours and hours of competitive fun.

A must have for the baseball season ahead. A leap beyond WSBB2K and 2K1, and an eternity from half-inspired games such as All Star BB and Triple Play.

Now get to it.

Honest reviews on World Series Baseball (Xbox)

This game is great!

Pros:The graphics are excellent, the player animation is awesome and lifelike, the artificial intelligence is superior, the announcers (Mike Krukow & Ted Robinson) mix into the game well, the contol is customizable and easy to learn, the difficulty is adjustable, fielding is a breeze, and it's fun!

Cons: The announcing repeats a little too often, jumping for fly balls are not an option (although sliding is), there are hardly ever any walks, and there are no bench-clearing brawls(not expected, but would have been fun to see).

Definitely Recommended, Worth the Price

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for World Series Baseball (Xbox)

First off, the graphics in this game are UNBELIEVABLE. Birds fly through the outfield, the animations are awesome. Batters adjust their gloves and stance, fielders shift from foot to foot and kick up dust to dig their cleats in. This is by far the best looking baseball game I've ever played. The sound is also top notch. During a Yanks Red sox game in Boston a fan yelled "Jeter, if you retire you can spend every day with models!" simply amazing. The announcers are good, the sound effects are dead on, all and all a great presentation. As far as game play is concerned the game is great, fast and realistic. Everything is selectable, from turning the batters box on or off, three different pitch speeds, to making the pitching and umpires realistic or computery (ie make mistakes or not). The stat tracking isn't as robust as High Heat but they are serviceable, unless you really care about how many times your catcher threw out a base stealer, and what your pitchers WHIP was you won't bat an eyelash at the basic yet complete statistics WSB tracks. This is also made up for by the fact that this game has the best franchise mode EVER. I already have a season and a franchise saved on my Xbox HD, the franchise I only manage while the season I play all the games, both are fun, considering that there are some PC games which only offer management and are quite successful this is almost like having two games in one. My problems with the game are few: you can't warm up pitchers; no team/league creation other then fantasy draft (though if you really wanted to you could draft every team in the league to emulate your fantasy league, but this would take a LONG time and I wish there was a way to simply create custom teams or leagues); confusing menus which differ slightly from the other 2k games; and no season MVP/golden glove type awards.. The only reason I don't give this game five stars is because I think that Sega and VC and iron out some of these problems/omissions. All and all WSB is a great baseball game that plays at least as well as and looks a ton (A TON!) better then High Heat for PS2. In fact the only reasons one should ever buy High Heat are; if you're really really... really into stat tracking, or if you don't have an Xbox. WSB is by far the best baseball game on Xbox, and with its presentation and gameplay one of the best (along with High Heat and Saturn WSB) baseball games ever made.

To be honest the only reason why I'm getting this HDMI cable because of its low price and color (green yellow). I'm a big Green Bay Packers fan.

I know this HDMI cable is ver. 1.3 which is below the 1.4 ver for 3D TV. But surprisingly the picture quality on my Panasonic Plasma TV is better than when I'm using my Sony HDMI cable ver. 1.4 that I got from Gamestop when I purchased my PS3. I dont know why, but the color on my TV using this cable is more vibrant.

Before I begin, if you are expecting this game to be a traditional Resident Evil game focusing on survival horror, forget it. It is nothing like it. Granted that it was pushed more as an action third person shooter (which it is), I can see how people got confused due to "Resident Evil" being in the title.

Gameplay: Average

Hit detection is terrible in this game. Even shooting in short, controlled bursts makes your aim fly around. Also, zombies are fairly easy to take out if you aim for the head (unless you get swarmed) but enemy Spec Ops soldiers apparently have cement heads because 4-5 bullets to the face isn't enough to kill them.

Single-Player Campaign: Horrible

If you want to play this game on your own, don't bother. It is short, only 6 missions, each about 1 hour long (depending on difficulty). Teammate AI is a bust. They will walk directly in front of you, into trip mines and even into fire. You're basically on your own, which isn't great when faced with a zombie horde accompanied by Hunters, Lickers and Tyrants.

Multiplayer: Only Redeeming Quality

>The game supports full campaign co-op so you can play the campaign with up to 3 other friends (4 total including yourself). This makes for a much more rewarding experience, especially when you try to beat the game on harder difficulties such as Veteran and Professional. Also, there's an element where your teammate can get infected and turn into a zombie, in which case you have to put them down or spray them with an anti-viral spray before they turn.

>Versus mode also adds some unique competitive multiplayer modes like Heroes and Survivor. Heroes is where you play your favorite RE character such as Leon or Claire. They have massive amounts of health and the point is to kill all the heroes on one team to win. If you die, you come back as a regular soldier (and significantly weaker than the Heroes). Survivor pits 8 players for a fight for only 4 seats on an evac chopper. The ones left behind are pretty much screwed. Keep in mind that all modes have zombies, lickers, hunters and tyrants. So you're not just fighting the other team, but these CPU-controlled enemies as well.

Graphics: Average

The graphics are not terrible, but there's also nothing special about them. Some levels are too bland and boring. There are some recreations of your favorite scenes of Resident Evil 2 (such as the car crash at the beginning of the RE2 or the train from the ending). It doesn't too polished though, giving it a quite jagged look. The cutscenes are much better, but are too few to actually enjoy.

Sound: Good

The sound is probably one of the better physical aspects of the game. The guns in particularly sound powerful and devastating.

Overall: 6 out of 10

In the end, it's not worth $60. If you can get it for $20-30 bucks, then you should consider it. Also, make sure you have friends to play with because it's not worth it if you're going to play solo.

My star rating speaks for itself for the most part, so I'll just attempt to justify it.

The game has bugs in the very first level, in what should be one of the most polished and epic parts (where you see Birkin)

The cover system at times is unresponsive, or I can't take cover behind things I should really be able to cover behind.

Many reviews label enemies in this game as "bullet sponges". They're right. In a level you have to fight 3 Mr. X's. Their only weak spot seems to be the head, and I can probably mathematically prove that I put enough bullets into one of their heads to easily fill its volume and more. There's suspension of disbelief, and then there's, "Ok I've been shooting at this thing for about 3 minutes, why won't it die?" This was only on Normal difficulty by the way.

The game is designed around co-op, given how the team mates specialize to help make a "squad", but local co-op isn't in the game. WHAT? The AI is terrible. They'll give you first aid... some times... when they feel like it. They'll never revive you. They get themselves into stupid situations and get themselves killed, but you'll need to revive them if, for no other reason, than you need them as a diversion so the big baddies won't take turns knocking you to the ground in an inescapable chain of death. Yeah I'm bitter.

There are no vehicles, no interesting objectives in missions, what should be epic zombie battles can quickly get annoying if you get infected with a virus several times in succession, since this means you will turn into a zombie and die because you probably ran out of antivirus, and the computer is too dumb to pick some up and heal you.

Little things like this make the game feel grindy and chorish. The weapon unlock system takes FOREVER given how short the campaign is. This is exacerbated by the fact that the levels aren't interesting to replay given how long each individual level is. I tried to farm points but all I could think at the level select screen was "Oh god this level again?!" with every level I highlighted.

The enemies have a glazed look over them which is... odd, but it isn't game breaking. What's worse is the only resident evil characters I remember seeing in the game are: Mr. X, Hunk, Birkin, Nemesis, Leon, Claire, Sherry Birkin. On the outset this sounds like a lot... except for you interact with them in extremely boring ways. Hunk is just kind of "there" in your first mission, Birkin is buggy as hell. What should be an epic first encounter feels like, "Oh god not this again!" Nemesis is a "boss fight" where you sit behind cover and pump like 20 clips of ammo into his head until he "gives up" so you can put something in his head. You run from or kill Mr. X, and well anyone who followed the game knew about Leon. I'm very let down by the way they handled that. It's outbreak, Raccoon City! There should be carnage in the streets, Tyrants mowing down zombies, Nemesis fighting Mr. X, Leon popping out with a rocket launcher to say hi, the U.S. military doing whatever they can just to get a foothold through the carnage but being easily overwhelmed.

Mayhem, objective based combat, and lots of interesting zombie moments should have littered this game, but what we got were perfect boxes withing boxes which describe our levels. Sometimes infinite enemies will pour in, sometimes you have to kill your way though (with little help from the game), sometimes you peek around the corner and the zombies and military are playing drinking games just waiting for you to show up so they can double team you for god knows what reason.

If I haven't made my case, I don't know what will.

So let's do a quick recap. The weak cover system, bullet sponge enemies, and lack of interesting objectives make this a terrible third person shooter. The lack of real horror moments, cheap mechanics, and no interesting use of RE characters make this a terrible game in the RE series, not even deserving to be called a "spin off" game. No local co-op despite the game's design around it, and a terrible AI ensure this game fails at basically whatever genre it was trying to be. They should have payed me to play this game.

Bought this to play through the campaign with a buddy and honestly, I'm pretty disappointed. But first, the positives.

The concept itself is pretty interesting setting you up as an opposing force for the bad guys in a historically big videogame event the fall of Raccoon City. The playable characters look unique, the voice acting is fairly decent, and a couple of the mechanics infection and bleeding, are nice touches.

On to the cons. The biggest con for me was the AI, both of the enemy, but more particularly of your AI teammates. They don't employ their specials in a timely fashion, they won't heal you (with the exception of the medic, and even then, with little rhyme or reason), walk into fire, and won't play with a modicum of intelligence. Several of the levels involve mines with laser tripwires AI Teammates run into them, and having been blown up, they then proceed to charge into the second row, and then possibly the third. And these aren't hidden tripwires. In one area, there are walls of flame. They will stand in the fire and slowly roast. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen NPC AI this bad at least not since the PS1 generation, and even then, no truly worse example comes to mind.

I played through as the stealth character Vector which had some interesting mechanics cloaking ability, motion detection, silent movement, etc, all of which would have been interesting, had the game allowed me to use them. But, the level design wasn't very conductive to it. When it was possible, the AI teammates just charged ahead anyway, triggering every encounter possible. So I pretty much was just another generic shooter guy, except when I could use the stealth ability to revive downed team mates, and occasionally try and outflank or get behind a group of Spec Ops (which often seemed to trigger successive encounters, or pull more into the firefight).

Speaking of level design, it's very straightforward. Point A to Point B, which isn't itself bad. Nothing wrong with it. But they aren't conductive to using the various skill sets provided to the team few opportunities to snipe (which really makes me wonder what the Sniper, Spectre, is for, given the mobs and zombies appearing out of nowhere), minimal chance to employ stealth, and not particularly conductive to the use of teamwork. The general formula is to overcome waves and waves of more or less identical zombies, generic Special Forces, and the occasional Lictor or other BioWeapon. Enemy AI is simple in the extreme they charge. That's it, with the exception of Spec Ops, which shoots and ducks.

Graphically, it's a bit unimpressive. Pretty generic, pretty choppy character animation, and fairly forgettable aside from some of the special effects and the sync kills for hand to hand, it reminds me more of an end of last generation title. Zombies also crawl out of solid walls, solid floors, and various other solid objects. Compared to some of the other recent games including the rather disappointing Dead Island ORC just doesn't hold its own graphically.

Story wise, there really isn't one. You interact with a few of the mainline RE characters, very, very briefly a couple of sentences here and there. And the gullibility of your team in its dealings with Umbrella borders on ludicrous, serving only to move you from one section to the next.

Overall, ORC showed a lot of initial promise great premise, interesting character types and abilities, big name behind it. I wanted to love it, but I can't. It failed horribly in the execution, poor attention to detail, and monumentally bad AI.

If I could do it again, I'd Wait for it to hit $20.

Honest reviews on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City - Xbox 360

Upon receiving this game, I had no idea what to expect. Once I popped the game in, I knew right away that this was going to be a mediocre game. Graphics are OK, enemy AI does its job, friendly AI is the worst you could possibly imagine, and there is a major gap between its difficulty settings. If it's not set on professional, the game is too easy; set it on professional, the game is very difficult. AI isn't smarter, it just takes more bullets to put 'em down to the point where you'll blow half, if not all your ammunition. Anyway, positives: The game creates a very interesting dynamic where, if you force enemy combatants to bleed, ALL the zombies will attack that NPC. Just know, that perk works both ways. If you bleed, you're more susceptible to infection which if left untreated, will change you into an uncontrollable zombie. There are several classes, each with their own perks (medic, scientist, etc) and melee options with their own melee kill sequences. The story is OK (approx. 6hrs 7 hrs) and the fan-service is solid, but what makes the game is teamwork. This is obviously not the best game in the series, but probably the most enjoyable spin-off they've come up with. I must emphasize, DON'T BUY THIS GAME IF YOU DON'T HAVE THREE OTHER PEOPLE TO PLAY WITH. The game is not enjoyable solo because friendly AI is awful and make the game more difficult then it needs to be. I would recommend this buy for four friends at $30 or less.

This review is from: Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City (Video Game)

Experience:

Level 1: Begins with cover based shooting. Glad to see Capcom is blazing new trails in the 3rd person shooter genre. Also you can't "vault" over cover. I mean it only took them how ever many years to give you the ability to run AND shoot. Maybe in 3 more games they'll include this option.

Cover based shooting takes forever. Your guns are inaccurate, head shots don't drop enemies, frag grenades do pitiful damage, enemies take entire clips to the chest (on normal difficulty), and the only thing more inaccurate that you with guns is your NPC squad with guns.

Encounter Birkin boss fight. Birkin nails me with pipe and locks me in perma-stun until death. 2nd encounter knocks me down. This time analog prompt appears (rotate analog stick to dodge) to allow me to roll out of the way. Why it didn't appear in the first encounter I have no idea.

Birkin kills squad member, move to revive...die

New strategy: Use squad as meat shield, sprint like crazy while hearing their cries of anguish fade into the distance...pass level.

Level 2: Unlock stealth for Vector. Encounter military types in City hall. Stealth and sneak up behind enemy when I realize I have no stealth kill...on a STEALTH character. Sigh, in perfect position to set up cross fire. Execute..enemy begins melee combo attack while I'm pouring a clip into his chest. Locked into perma-stun until death.

Crossfire attempt 2: Watch my team flail about as if they're trying to target everyone at once and some enemies that don't exist. Use all stun grenades. Team refuses to acknowledge my assistance by actually killing a single soldier. Survive encounter with 1 bar of health. Remaining squad memebers...KIA. Developing hatred toward moron in charge of AI.

Get to archive room to burn evidence. Can't see a thing. Turn up gamma no effect. Wander around library beginning to wonder if my purchase was worth it.

Get to ending with multiple Lickers. Watch as animators were too lazy to give the Lickers an actual "death" animation. Licker stays in attack pose after 2 clips or more until finally disintegrates; was dead the entire time. Other Licker models merely go "limp" and fall from the ceiling. Very lazy on Capcom's part.

Level 3: Exploding zombies...this is getting stupid. Am becoming bored, and really wishing I'd read the reviews.

Hospital catches fire. Hunter mini boss fight occurs.

Use team as meat shield. Hunter kills "Lupo" and "Beltway" but I'm alive and that's what's important.

Revive Lupo. Revive Beltway. Beltway then runs directly into a fire and stands there until he dies. Revive Beltway. Move to next room. Lupo suicides on trip mines that were guarding an aid spray. She can't even pick them up! Why is she going for an aid spray!?

Turn game off in disgust.

Update: Continued to play and got to one of the end levels where I had to re-enter Birkin's Lab.

On the elevator and attacked by lickers. Killed lickers but one glitches and gets stuck in the freaking wall. My cracker-jack team decides the best thing to do is to just shoot the wall...forever. After the Licker has disappeared through the wall. I am not kidding. They all lined up and proceed to shoot at NOTHING. And because you can't issue team commands, the only way to make them stop is proceed to another check point.

This is one the biggest things that I am hating about the game industry. EVERYTHING MUST have multi-player.

I know that a ton of people who disagree with me will say "Play on Xbox Live DURRR"

The thing is that I shouldn't have to. That's an excuse and bull**** one at that.

I understand that there are some games that have a single player campaign added as an after thought. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a perfect example. I didn't get that impression from "RE: ORC." I thought it was going to be a mixture of Dead Space, and Gears of War. A solid single player experience with a strong multi-player element. And Capcom was more than happy to make people believe that. Instead they give me an amalgamation of Gears of War, Jericho and Vampire Rain.

THIS GAME SUCKS. DO NOT BUY! Seriously. Spend your money on ANYTHING else. Burn it if you have to. You will get infinitely more enjoyment from the outcome of torching your hard earned cash than spending it on this travesty of a "game."

It comes with a wall mount too, so you don't have to put it on the TV if you don't want to. Comes with rubber spacers for use with the newest ultra thin TVs too. It's built well, high quality. The price is good too. I recommend it if this is what you are looking for. I've read that some of the copycat makers of this mount made cheaper models.... the savings on those don't make it worth the risk.

I have been a big fan of the FIFA series dating back to FIFA 10. I buy the game every year and have played thousands of matches over the last several years. Every year the game is fundamentally the same with a few minor differences. Sometimes the changes are for the better and sometimes they're for the worse. This year is pretty typical in that regard. There are some great new features and some shockingly bad ones. Here's quick breakdown of some of the game modes and some of the changes:

Shot physics have been altered. Now the ball will dip and knuckle more than in previous FIFA games. This seems like it will improve the variety of goals you can score, yet many of the same flaws remain. The finesse shot (curling shot) is still very overpowered. Meanwhile, goalies are still way too good at making quick reflex saves on powerful shots at short range. What that all adds up to is that the finesse shot is still your go-to bread and butter shot in all 1-on-1 situations, so the variety that the developers aimed for wasn't totally achieved.

Player movement has been altered. More specifically, players have a greater sense of momentum. It is harder to start and stop instantly. Sharp cuts and 180 degree shifts in direction will be more gradual. Some reviewers have praised this as being more realistic than the last few FIFA games, where sometimes it felt like you were steering a race car instead of an athlete. I agree that this change is more realistic, but is it more FUN? I don't think so. The slower movement gives the whole experience a less responsive feeling, which can be very frustrating. Many times you will spot an opening for your player and try to weave into that space, but the slow change of direction will result in him being tackled before he can react. The overall result here is that defense feels overpowered whereas attacking play has been nerfed. One of my favorite things in the game was to pull of crisp skill moves and slaloming runs with speedy players, but now I'm finding the game a bit muddy and slow. It might be more realistic, but it is a lot less fun than FIFA 10-13.

AI has been upgraded. Computer players will have smarter movement on offense and defense. The good news here is that your computer teammates will be smarter about making runs so you pick them out with a pass. However, the CPU is still far too mechanical and tidy on higher difficulties. They will psychically sense your incoming tackle and change directions at the last moment to avoid you. The whole experience of playing against the computer can be very frustrating due to the lack of random variance and error. Even world class players make bad touches and mistakes in real life, but the CPU in FIFA plays like a machine. I much prefer to play against human players because there is more variety. It's also worth pointing out that many of the same AI flaws that have existed in the game for YEARS are still glaring. For example, defenders are absolutely horrible at making aerial challenges for the ball. So many times when a cross is whipped in, they will just stand flat-footed and let the attacker spike it right over them. In general, players lack awareness of the ball and aren't aggressive enough when it is near them. Many times the ball will squirt loose into space and your players will take steps away from it instead of trying to pounce like they would in real life. These minor AI flaws can really hinder the enjoyment of the game.

Ultimate Team is back and better than ever. If you don't know what Ultimate Team is, it's a game mode that allows you to collect and trade players in order to build your "ultimate team." However, even though the game mode bills itself as Ultimate Team, there is a chemistry system in place that effectively prevents you from linking players in your lineup unless they play in the same league or have the same nationality. This really limits your creativity and prevents you from building your actual ultimate team. For example, you can't link Ibrahimovic with Cristiano Ronaldo and get full chemistry because they don't share a common league or nationality. Putting that aside, there are a number of nice new features in Ultimate Team this year. There are more leagues in the game than last year, including the Colombian league. The interface and player search feature have greatly been improved. Single online matches have returned after shockingly being left out last season, but now they can't end in a draw like they could in FIFA 12. If you are drawing after 90 minutes, you have to play extra time and go to penalties. Annoying because single matches are supposed to be more casual and not so win-at-all-costs like the tournaments and seasons.

My two favorite new features in Ultimate Team are the new chemistry styles and the removal of formation cards from the game. In previous FUT games, you had to convert your players to the correct formation every time you wanted to experiment with a new formation. Now all players get full chemistry from all formations, so there is much more room to experiment without having to invest a lot of coins in formation cards. The new chemistry styles add a layer of customization to the game by allowing you to apply chemistry styles cards to your players that boost specific traits. For example, you could use a chemistry style to increase a defender's heading and defending. Or you could use a different chemistry style to increase an attacking midfielders passing and dribbling.

Also, it's worth pointing out that while Ultimate Team is technically free, the game is designed to push you towards the pack store, where EA makes a lot of money off people spending points on packs in hopes of finding valuable players. I strongly discourage you from spending real money on Ultimate Team, as the players you get in packs are rarely worth much and your odds of getting someone like Ronaldo or Messi are INCREDIBLY low. It is basically a lottery ticket and not a good value at all. You are always better off saving coins and buying player direct.

Career mode, skill games, and virtual clubs are back from last year. Clubs allow you to create a virtual pro for use in club games with your friends or with strangers, and to gradually build up his stats by fulfilling various achievements. For example, scoring 25 goals might improve his shooting stats. You can keep this player throughout your entire time using FIFA 14 and it is fun to gradually build him up. The only major drawback is that EA inexplicably ruined the drop-in match game mode by capping the former 11v11 player limit at 5v5 and removing the "ANY" option, which means that if you go into a drop-in match (a virtual pro match where you and strangers play a game using your virtual pro), over half of the players on the field will be controlled by the computer. It used to be that you could go full 11v11 or have one player designated as the "ANY" in smaller games to control all of the computer players. Drop-in games will be incredibly tedious and boring without the any feature, so I will not be playing them this year.

The EA Sports Football Club that they introduced with FIFA 12 has once again carried over to the new game. With this feature, you'll gradually accumulate currency within the game just by playing FIFA 14. You can then use these points to unlock nice bonuses such as free Ultimate Team coins, extra kits, new celebrations, and extra boots for your players. This is a nice feature that provides another incentive system within the game.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: FIFA 14 brings a lot of new bells and whistles compared to the last few releases in the series, but the gameplay has taken a step backward. Although it might be more realistic than ever, the game is also slower and more methodical than ever. This is especially apparent in Ultimate Team, where lightning-paced high scoring games of years past have morphed into a more sluggish and frustrating experience. There was one stretch of games last night where my opponents and I combined for one goal in six full halves of play. This is the first time in the last five years that I have felt bored with FIFA so early in the release, so I have to consider this version a step back overall despite the aforementioned improvements. Realism is nice, but not if it comes at the expense of fun. So far, this FIFA just isn't that fun to play.

I've been playing FIFA religiously since 2006. Here are some of the major gameplay changes that I noticed from FIFA '13:

Smaller Field/ Slower Gameplay The game play has been slowed down quite a bit, and you find yourself operating in close-quarters a lot. The field feels a lot smaller which is more realistic. However, it seems like it is easier to sit back and play defensively which is not much fun for me.

Catching Passes/First Touch All players can catch passes and trap the ball more easily than in '13. I liked that it was harder in '13 because it took more skill on the behalf of the player. You couldn't run full speed with a Center Back and catch a pass in stride you would have to slow down and trap the ball before continuing your run. Now it seems that everyone catches passes without losing the ball as much.

Finesse Shot In '13, I found the "right-bounce", finesse shot to be almost useless. It was easier to just slide the ball along the ground past the keeper. In '14, this shot has made a comeback. This is a return to prior years, which I like. It takes more time to line this shot up, so you should be rewarded for being able to execute it.

Player Size/Strength In '14, you can really utilize a player's strength and size. In '13, it seems that speed and dribbling were all that mattered. Now you can muscle people away from the ball and use your height to catch passes from the air (hopefully Messi can no longer wrestle air balls away from Center Backs while jumping!). I like this, however, it seems that it is much easier to score now on headers and corners. There is nothing more frustrating than when you trap your opponent outside the box and he tries a desperation cross only to score a header. Goals off of corners are also really weak, and I even feel bad when I convert on them. I'll take a win any way I can get it, but it is so much more satisfying when you actually beat your opponent and score.

Overall These are my first impressions. With any new FIFA it takes time to adjust. I am biased towards the negative because I excelled at '13 right away. '14 does not really cater to my style of play. That being said, I will still play it every day until '15 comes out.

UPDATE: After playing this game for 2 months, I have become very frustrated with it. I may even switch to Madden or NHL until FIFA '15. The conversion rate on headers and corners is much too high. Over half of the goals online are scored on these plays. In FIFA '13 I could convert on 5-10% of corners. In '14 it is seriously around 40%. With Gareth Bale delivering on corners, my player gets his head on it 90% of the time. Every game on Xbox Live is Real Madrid vs. Real Madrid. Kick the ball upfield to Ronaldo or run down the sideline and cross it in. If you don't score on the cross, you'll convert on the corner. I do not enjoy this style of play at all, but it is so effective what else can I do? I could play my old style and lose every game. Finesse shots from outside the box are also much more effective. You can win your games without ever getting a direct shot from inside the box.

Game mechanic is a step forward but...

You CANNOT play with your friends against other friends at all, in any of modes. It was never mentioned anywhere that Online Team Play will not be available and many players bought the game intending to play with friends (as they do not have time for seasons, ultimate team, career etc) like they used to in previous instances of Fifa.

Not only it was not mentioned by EA but all the reviews, who gave the game 9/10 or 10/10 score did not mention Online Team Play gone. I could not find any single review that would address this issue.

Furthermore, I have been on EA live help chat thingy 3 times trying to get advisors to tell me how to play with friends since I find not being able to do so completely ridiculous. Every advisor I spoke to seem to be surprised there is no way to play friends vs friends.

My facebook post on EA Fifa 14 wall has been removed as well.

Slightly odd isn't it.

Anyway, if you want to play Fifa 14 in group of friends you will not be able to do so. You have been warned.

Honest reviews on FIFA 14 - Xbox 360

Let me get straight to the point, Fifa 14 is by far the worst FIFA game I've played in the last 5 years! Unfortunately EA sports has not made any improvements to the game, but they have also ruined it by trying to make it more realistic(!). I'm not complaining because I can't win ,I just won my season one championship last week so I know how to play. The point is that FIFA 14 is not fun anymore...

What EA has failed to understand is that video games are meant to be fun. when you attempt to make a game realistic (in your own thoughts), you should consider the fact that it must not spoil the fun. As you can read in other reviews there are many many many issues that happen way too often in a game which makes you want to break your game. Just to mention a few:

super sluggish game-play and increased momentum of players

Easy cross and header goals that happen way too much in every game (Trust me, I also score most of my goals this way)

Dribbling with the best players in the world is almost impossible because of super late reactions and movements

Lofted through balls (which was so bad in the beginning that EA released a patch to fix it in the first few weeks)

Unrealistic first touch controls (sometimes players like Messi seem to have no idea how to stop an easy pass)

Ridiculously foolish team-mates (some things are totally out of your control...)

Forwards are in offside position 90% of the time (and don't seem to care at all!)

_ Throw-ins are just a joke!Players spend most of the time running after the ball themselves as if there's no one out there

Overall, after a game (specially at higher levels) you don't feel like you won the game because you're good. Instead you feel like you only won because you were lucky. That's what kills the fun in a sports game.

After all, it's EA and they sure know how to be the winner of "Worst Company of the Year" for 2 years in a row. If you haven't purchased the game yet, don't buy it. It's just a waste of time and money...

I have been playing Fifa games since Fifa '08 and one thing they always are is FUN. The gameplay and the graphics have changed but the heart and soul remains. You go up against your friends, spank them 4-0, then pull out the victory dance and trash talking. Ultimate Team is a great addition which allows you to take this fun online by trying to build the best team with the coins you earn and going head to head with persons all around the world. Fifa 14 has a greater learning curb than previous editions. The ball physics has changed, player movement has changed, the speed of the game has changed. A lot of people play it and feel the difference and hate it but have they taken the time to try to get used to it? Some people just can't be bothered with trying to learn a new style of play and my opinion is, they probably aren't real football (soccer) fans; maybe they watch a match here and there but are not avid fans. Fifa 14 IS different, that's for sure. There are always little glitches that can be fixed which is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. Does it suck? No! Is it fun? Yes! Do you wanna pull your hair out when crappy goals go in against you? Yes! Do you chuckle and do a fist pump when crappy goals go in for you? Yes! Is Fifa 14 worth the money? YES! Go buy it.

As I stated in an earlier review "Call Of Duty" is one of the best First Person Shooters I have ever played, and the unquestioned best in the World War II sub-genre of FPS's. So you could imagine my excitement when "United Offensive" was announced, a 13 mission single player expansion with revamped multiplayer features. I was sure to pick it up the day it came out, and I haven't stopped playing it since.

Let's start with the single player missions. Right off the bat it's clear this expansion's campaign was intended for those who played through the original and were looking for a more prominent challenge. Since I hate it when people reveal later missions in the game I wont tell you what to expect later on, I can however tell you this. In the first mission you find yourself on patrol with members of the American 101st Airborne in the woods of Bastogne. Bam, out of nowehre you're suddenly caught in the middle of a relentless German push foward, for those of you who may not be World War II buffs this is part of the infamous Battle Of The Bulge.

All of the original elements of the inthralling single player from the first one are still here, the AI still responds well, both enemy and friendly. You'll without a doubt find yourself barking out orders to your comrades as if they were standing right next to you, and your heart will race as you charge enemy positions in a bloody attempt to secure strategical areas. As with the original you play through three campaigns as the Americans, British and Russian forces in different theaters of operation. You may have seen previews in which you take control of a gun turret during a British bombing mission over Holand. I can tell you now, this is without a doubt one of the most intense moments of the game, and it provides a nice break from the squad based infantry combat. You'll also get to drive tanks in several missions as in the original, all of these missions are equally amazing as well, but as I promised I will reveal no more, you must find out for yourself.

Now to confront the issue of the completly revamped multiplay. I've been an online gamer for years, I've played everything from Warcraft II to mostly all of the Half Life modifications. The original Call Of Duty's multiplayer was fun at best, but didn't provide a lasting quality, it was something you played every once and a while. United Offensive is a much, much different story. For starters the developers made better levels, complete with jeeps and tanks at your disposal. This alone is amazing, I can't tell you how much fun I've playing with others in the short time this game has been out. Nothing beats a tank push with 4 or 5 of your teammates, while the rest of the team advances on the flanks with jeeps and infantry. All of the games new weapons, including the Flamethrower, are available for use, and this time around you can put the Bazooka to good use against an advancing enemy Panzer. For those of you concerned about balancing issues fear not, the game is easy enough for new players (noobs) to pick up and provides enough of challenge for veterans to more than enjoy. One of the key features is the ability to call in an airstrike on an enemy position with your binoculars, though to do this you must achieve a certain high score and also be one of the highest ranked members on your team. Another great addition is new modes of gameplay such as base defense and capture the flag, both multiplayer classics now brought to the COD universe. To call the multiplay for this game an improvement from the last would be an understatement, it almost feels like a different game.

To sum it up the Call Of Duty team has done it again, and then some. This expansion more than satisfied my hunger for a great expansion to an amazing game. Keep your fingers crossed that this trend will be kept up because if it is we're looking at even more dropping games...no, no, even more jaw dropping experiences in the future.

I really enjoyed COD and played it through several times. The missions in this expansion pack however seem overly scripted and frankly, poorly designed. It's as if the A team of level/mission designers was devoted to the new console version of the game, leaving United Offensive to the second string. Many of the missions are laced with hackneyed "sandwich" puzzles, where, to proceed you have to run around looking for the hidden bazooka or panzerfaust, and then return 3 and 4 times to the same place in order keep retrieving the same device (or ammo for it) in a frustrating exercise in tedium. If I wanted to play a cheezy puzzle game, I'd have bought Myst 12 or Kings Quest 53. Some missions are so poorly conceived that you end up back-tracking through half the level to talk to a guy who only tells you to pick up the documents in the room you've already searched, just in order for a new section to open up. Makes you wonder how well they tested the thing. Another mission leaves you with some guy yelling at you for "coordinates" without ever telling you how to find or convey such a thing.

All that said, COD United Offensive is still good fun. It's just not up to the level of the original when it comes to single player mission design.

There are few games that give me a lasting impression. Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Medal of Honor and Call of Duty: United Offensive. No, I didn't forget the original Call of Duty although it's a great game, I liked the whole MOH series better than COD. United Offensive on the other hand is a work of art! UO could have easily been a stand alone game and I think it should have been. For only $30 you get allot over the original. 11 new maps, new weapons, a new rank system in MP mode and last but certainly not least UO adds vehicles! We're talking tanks and Jeeps. You can also control flak cannons too.

That may not seem like much on the surface but adding those few elements completely changes the game. The part that really changes the game are the vehicles and the new ranking system. You start out as a private and have very little ammo and you "level up" by killing then you gain more ammo. That includes more grenades (frag and smoke) and even something called "Satchel Charge". A satchel charge is like having 3 or 4 grenades explode at one time. Finally when you reach the highest level which is a Platoon Sergeant. When you reach that rank, you can call in a artillery strike which will decimate everyone (friend or foe) within the blast radius which is considerable!

Driving the vehicles are very pleasant and easy to operate! A medium tank can handle two occupants. A drive which operates the main turret and a submachine gun within the tank and a secondary person to operate the main machinegun. A Jeep can handle 3 occupants. A driver, a passenger which operates the machinegun and another passenger riding shotgun who can fire is own weapon.

Let me just say that Call of Duty: United Offensive is the best multiplayer game out so far this year by far! The single player mode it excellent too of course but it's the MP that really shines.

The only real competition COD: UO has is Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and Half-Life 2. If your a FPS fan then you definitely want UO! Just remember that you must have the original COD to play UO!

Update:

Since I wrote this review, I've had the chance to play Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source and the MP demo to Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault.

UO is much much better than MOH: PA in oh so many ways. It has some high points but the point is that UO owns it in nearly every category!

Comparing it to Counter-Strike Source or CSS is a little bit more difficult because CSS looks SOOO good now that Valve has updated CSS to the Source engine. That said, COD: UO still beats it; albeit by a very slim margin. Of course a true FPS gamer would buy both ;).

If you like FPS games at all you need to buy Call of Duty: United Offensive. Again don't forget that you need to own the original Call of Duty in order to play United Offensive since UO is an expansion pack.

Honest reviews on Call of Duty: United Offensive Expansion Pack - PC (Deluxe)

I really enjoyed this game. What made COD so great is also found here in this game.

You have very intense action, great graphics and sound, and pretty good missions. The action was so intense at times that it almost wasn't fun because you couldn't really enjoy the scenery.

I see some reviews talking about how they don't like it because it is scripted. News flash: Every game is scripted. Only the games that are coming out now (though not released yet) like Half Life 2 and Medal of Honor Pacific Assault are not gonna be scripted. As for all other like RTCW, MOHAA, and Doom 3, they are scripted. So don't let that deter you because this games action never stops.

My only real complaint is that the SP is too short. You have 13 missions, but no mission last much more than maybe 30 minutes. You have maybe 6 hours of game time here not including the reloading you will have to do when you die. And this game is hard. That is probably why most don't like it. It is hard on every setting.

As for MP, it is a little better now. The aiming of the gun for SMG's still sucks, but the maps are better designed and a lot better to play. Some of the new weapons are cool too. They also have a sprint key you can use now to run quickly for a few seconds until you are "rested". The new modes aren't anything great, but are still fun. If they would have just fix the aiming, this would be even better.

Overall, this expansion pack rocks. If you haven't gotten the origianl COD yet, wait unitl they put both COD and this expansion together and buy it. It will be worth the money. If you have COD, get this expansion. You will only be dissappointed in how short the games is.

this expansion pack is amazing and provides great improvements to the regular call of duty game. don't buy it for the single player buy it for the amazing multiplayer. the graphics and movement have improved greatly. you can now run instead of just walk, and use smoke bombs, a great improvement. the weapons feel better the action is fast-paced and more realistic.

however, it's not perfect. many of the maps are so-called "tank maps" because they revolve around the use of tanks and jeeps. the jeeps are pretty cool, but these are a detriment to the game. you're better off not playing any tank maps at all. tanks are useless in that if you get in one, you'll almost instantly be blown to smithereens. in addition, the tanks keep spawning so this lame idea of "fun" is repeated ad nauseum. also the maps are much bigger and you spawn far away from the action, so there's too much walking or driving in UO.

other negatives sniper rifles are much much less useful than in regular COD. why? well, people can sprint and the faster people move, the harder they are to hit. also, smoke bombs cloud the sniper's vision. (still, the smoke is simply amazing).

one more negative artillery. artillery is a feature where when you reach a certain rank, you point with your binoculars and planes drop huge bombs on the enemy. for the most part it's cool, except there's simply too much artillery and when one team uses it on the other team's spawn point, the game is virtually over, because you can't stop from being killed by it. this is a stupid oversight on the part of the makers of UO.

other positives new types of games, especially capture the flag, my personal favorite, greatly add to the fun, instead of playing old boring team deathmatch. also, make sure you turn your search filter on to search for "mods" so you can play new modifications and maps that people created. this adds to the freshness and excitement of the game. also turn "auto-downloads" on so you can download these new maps when you click on the server.

despite the negatives, i still play this game almost every day. even though i've played it for countless hours, it's still sooo fun. i think this qualifies as the best video game created to date.

Look, this game is hands down the best fighter on the DS and one of the best fighters out there today 2d or 3d. It doesn't beat virtual fighter 5 or anything like that but as far as fighters of this type go its up there. As for the language. The mild profanity included in the game which respects its rating isn't just ok, its actually needed because believe it or not the few vulgarity's in it are part of the characters catch phrases in the show or things they are known to say in certain situations. If they took that out it wouldn't be true to the anime or the manga so, while I respect your point of view, giving it a rating of 3 over language is incorrect. You are rating the game on how it plays. Not rating the game on what age you should be to play it. Thats what the other company does. So, as far as sticking to the main topic as far as this being a fighter for the DS and based off an anime. It sticks true to both with 5 stars easy. There is no better handheld fighter. It could be even more addictive than your console one even.

All you need to know is that this game is developed by Treasure. Buy any game made by Treasure, you will be satisfied. Whether you watch Bleach or not, this game is an awesome 2-d fighter. I did find the story mode a bit lacking as you can only play as Ichigo(EDIT: incorrect, beating it with Ichigo unlocks other story modes!), but with the other modes and ONLINE play it doesn't really matter.

If you dont know what bleach is and you like fighting games, buy this!

This is the best fighting game I've ever played on a handheld. I usually expect handheld fighters to be inferior to console ones but this one breaks the mold, its really good and I love playing it on ds and dont find myself wishing it was on a tv. The spirit cards really add a ton of strategy to the game. Online is really fun but the auto-guard option can be kinda cheap when its on, it helps new players but sometimes its cheap when you know a human couldnt block your attack that fast without it. Using the touch screen for special moves is great because it lets newer players keep up with advanced and the spirit power guage keeps them from button mashing to win. Hope they bring the sequel to the usa...

Honest reviews on Bleach: The Blade of Fate - Nintendo DS

Years ago I used to be heavily into multiple genres. Even ones I've all but ignored today like fighting and racing games got heavy play, mainly due to having people I can actually play the game with. But over time, my interest changed to RPG's and action games and I literally haven't played a fighter in years. But since I'm a big Bleach fan, I just had to check out the game. Fans of the show will find plenty to love about the game and even makes a great fighter for those not into the show.

Story: The story mainly centers on Ichigo Kurosaki, a high school student who absorbed the powers of Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki, a fighter part of a group who hunts Hollows, giant monsters that human eyes can't see. While able to save his family, Ichigo all but drained Rukia of her powers which is a big no-no and Rukia is taken away to be executed. Ichigo along with friends Orihime, Uryu and Chad as well as cat guide Yoruichi travel to the Soul Society to rescue Rukia.

Graphics: The graphics are pretty usable for a fighter and since this is a DS fighter it's not going to have the wow of Final Fantasy IV but sprites are animated quite well, there's barely any slowdown even when things get hectic and some special moves of characters look pretty awesome.

Sound/Music: Racing, like fighting, is the kind of genre where I kind of prefer having my own music playing. It's not that the music is bad here as its serviceable but it's not really memorable in the least and the voice acting can get annoying when every move has the accompanying sound effect for each one.

Gameplay: With a wide assortment of characters to choose from, the variety is quite welcome from the big and powerful like Chad or Kenpachi to more agile opponents like Yachiru or Yoruichi. The move lists are pretty much the same for everyone but it becomes strategic in figuring out how to use each one's strengths. So one move might be projectile based while the same move for a different fighter is a combo that shoots your opponent in the air. Some fighters though are just simply too clumsy to use and don't really feel enjoyable while others are kind of a blast and become favorites.

Added to the mix are Spirit Cards which you tap on the touch screen which will give you brief benefits such as disabling your opponent's ability to jump while another might exchange your spiritual power for theirs which allows you to activave your special moves. Since using the moves is part of a meter that recharges, it's a good benefit to switch yours with theirs. Only problem is that because your fighting with a normal playing position, it's awkward to hit the card with your thumb or nail. And activating the special moves can be frustrating, especially with some of the story mode's you against 2-3 opponents. Luckily, there's a different menu you can switch to on the touch screen where the moves can simply be pressed to activate.

With challenge modes, versus, Wi-Fi play, download play as well as the somewhat lengthy (and rather repetitive) story mode, there's plenty to love about the game though it helps if you're a Bleach fan since it's a lot more cooler. Even when my hand cramped a bit, I still kept playing which says something about the game...or me being stubborn about taking breaks.

I have to admit, before I played this game, I really didn't think that much of it. Good third-person games on the PC are few and far between. Sure, we have MDK2, F.A.K.K. 2 is alright, and Rune is a nice title, but there aren't many great third-person games on PC. All of this changes with Alice.

Alice has a winning combination of great graphics (thanks to the power of the Quake 3 engine) and wonderful gameplay. I'll start off with the graphics. The textures are highly detailed, and perfectly fit the atmosphere of the game, which is dark. However, what really makes this game shine is the originality and detail of the levels. Each level is much different from any other. You'll walk on huge chess boards rendered in black and white, where you Alice will be the only thing of color on the screen. You'll go through castles that have clocks that sway from side to side. Other places will have tables flying and twirling all about. No other game has levels quite like Alice, and no other game has the originality of Alice. I suppose the best way to describe it would be a 3D Castlevania game done right.

Now onto gameplay. The problem with most third-person games is that many leaps of faith are required. Jumps become tiresome and just plain hard. Alice avoids this with a very nice "lock-on" jump system. You'll land right where you want to. It is a great addition, and jumps never seem tedious. The combat is quite a bit similar to Rune's. Most weapons are melee, but there are some projection weapons. All weapons have a secondary fire, which usually projects something. The game also has a "lock-on" system for combat, which avoids the frustration of continually missing an enemy.

Alice also has quite a few nice touches that make the gameplay more enjoyable. There is a cat character (the one on the cover, standing right next to Alice) who helps you out on your journey. He only speaks in riddles, which gives him a nice personality. The sound is quite nice, and you're in for a real treat if you have a Soundblaster Live! card. The music is great, and perfectly fits the game.

Another thing that makes Alice great is its atmosphere. If you just look at the pictures, you'd think that the game tries to induce nightmares. This is very wrong. The atmosphere is more...well, it is hard to describe, but you should have no problem playing it with the lights off. I guess you could say that the game really "feels" like Wonderland. Great job by the developers there.

The game run's nicely on my middle of the road P3 500 MHz with 128 megs of RAM, and a now outdated TNT card.

The bottom line: this game does to third-person action/adventures what Half-Life did for first-person shooters. Get it now. If you can't get it now, make sure it is the first thing on your want list for the Holidays.

I was stunned that American McGee announced the game a while back. I've been waiting anxiously for months for this game to be released and here it is! The story takes place after "Through the Looking-Glass". When Alice returns from Wonderland, no one believes that she has been there and is placed into an insane asylum (exactly the same thing that happens to Dorothy from OZ). It's not long before the White Rabbit pays her a visit and tells her she must return to Wonderland because the Red Queen has taken over again. So back down the rabbit hole she goes but, to Alice's surprise, Wonderland is no longer the same place she remembers. It's darker and more dangerous than before. Cheshire returns to accompany Alice on her trip (Cheshire actually acts like a Dæmon, similar to a witch's black cat) and gives her tips. And like Wonderland Cheshire's health is in question, skin hanging off of his bones, nasty tattoos, a pirate's earring and bad teeth makes Cheshire one very nasty looking cat. Of course the rest of the characters have fallen on hard times as well. Mad Hatter sports gears in his body, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum look like they've been dead for a few days, White Rabbit looks like he should be in the asylum. Wonderland also sports several new funky characters like giant oversized Ants, nasty fire Imps, and flying Jabberspawn (don't ask).

The game sports very nice dark brooding graphics suitable to Wonderland. The controls are very nice and solid given time to get used to the unusual third person view. (This is the same view and control found in Rune and MDK2) The levels are nice and detailed, however, I wonder why better use of curved surfaces is not utilized, since the Alice engine is based on the fantastic Quake 3 engine. Interestingly enough, the same curved surfaces are in use during the "Psychedelic" levels with twisting and warping backgrounds and what not. (I recommend a bucket next to the PC if you suffer from motion sickness.) All of these special effects require hefty PC power.

The PC requirements are bit steep, but no worse then when Unreal was first released. Follow them like the bible since fine tuning Alice is very difficult. I'm also severely disappointed that the advanced features are poorly documented and that some of the advanced command issues do not work (strangely enough). And worse, Alice does NOT come with a level editor, this alone shortens the life of Alice down to mere months. A very unusual move since American McGee did work at ID software and knows the value of throwing in the editing package along with the game. (look at games like Doom, Quake I, II, III, Half-Life, Unreal, and Rune)

The minor drawbacks do little to outweigh the game as whole, get the game or "borrow" your friend's. You'll certainly enjoy the game. If not, well . . . You're too old to be playing games. You should be sitting on your couch reading the media's latest attack on violent games and how it causes the youth of America (snicker) to be violent.

Best Deals for American McGee's Alice - PC

The main reason I bought this game was because of the Alice in Wonderland theme. I must admit, I'm a sucker for anything dealing with Lewis Carroll's classic story. Plus, I do like playing games--especially computer games.

So the question is did Alice live up to the hype? Yes and no. Is it as good or as bad as people claim? Well, both.

The object of the game is simple: save Wonderland. Alice returns to Wonderland--a more dark, twisted Wonderland than she knew before. It is now ruled by the evil Queen of Hearts. Alice must destroy the Queen and bring Wonderland back to it's natural glory.

I found McGee's vision of Wonderland fantastic. I think the best adaption I've seen. Way better than the fluffy Disney verison. The characters are even more mad than they were before. Instead of just "harmless" madness, it's now to the point where the madness is just...well, murder. We meet farmilar characters such as the Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee and Dum, the Catepillar, and even the beloved With Rabbit.

The graphics and sound are superior. Nice, dark jingles that run through the game as you discover Wonderland. And the graphics...whoa. What can I say? Wonderful! At times you just have to look around and enjoy the view. Maybe even Carroll would approve, eh?

But where there are pros, there are cons. I must agree with the the people and critics that say this game is too linear. And this is from a person who prefers linear games! But...at times I do like to rack my brain, get lost, or have to think of a way out of a sitution. In this game you don't do that. You go here, you go there. A to Z. You don't have to really think as you progress. There are no secrets worlds, no extra places to go, no extra weapons/objects, no altnerative endings or paths, none of that (or very, very little of it). Once you finish Alice, that's it. Nothing else to do. Nothing else to see. Put the game in the drawer.

The game boasts puzzles on the box and hinting on a challenge but I found none. The very few puzzles they had were average at best. This is if you don't include jumping puzzles--which are a pain in this game. Not as bad as Tomb Raider but bad enough. Let me tell you a secret: you will die more often falling off cliffs than you die in combat.

Basically, it's your choice. If you're looking for this game to be revolutionary with hours and hours of fun gameplay, it's not. If you're looking for a game with good graphics and sound that presents you with a fun, creative adaption of Alice in Wonderland, this game for you.

It's a toss up.

Honest reviews on American McGee's Alice - PC

Although powered by the Quake III Arena engine, American McGee's Alice isn't a 3D "shooter" or anything like Quake and it's predecessors. It is a romp through Wonderland as we've never imagined it: Hitchcock meets Disney with Timothy Leary producing. Unlike so many games that use dimly lit scenes to portray a mood, Alice excels in the area of graphics. Swirling vortexes, surrealistic skies, even a level in black and white where Alice and an item or two are the only color to be seen. The game is linear in fashion, like Carroll's novels. This is an interactive story that moves along as you (portrayed as Alice) solve problems and puzzles. The cut scenes move the story along as well, and provide clues as to what to do next, and the mine train ride will steal your breath. The background sounds include a soundtrack by Chris Vrenna (former Nine Inch Nails drummer) which adds much to the disturbing mood of the game environment. The elements in this game create enough "suspension of belief" to submerse the player in an incredible fantasy world closer to Carroll's than any movie depiction we have seen. The "M" rating is questionable: the violence here is hardly that of a Quake or Duke Nukem, but the general mood of the world is depressing indeed, and the image of insane children is disturbing. All the more reason to defeat the Queen of Hearts and set things aright (I do love a happy ending.)

"But I don't want to go among mad people..."

"Oh, you can't help that... we're all mad here..."

NEVER have I seen a game that has so totally moved me. From the graphics, to the incredible 3D rendering to the haunting minor-key music, this Victorian-Gothic fantasy come to life will literally keep you in awe. (No kidding -I showed my friend last night and when I turned around to see her reaction her mouth was literally open and she was speechless.) The music, the scenery and the graphics play so much like a twisted dream that you can't decide if you'd rather watch or play -great indication of a good game.

This game is made somewhat like Quake (in fact, it's by the people who made Quake,) and the storyline is supposed to be a third chapter of the "Alice in Wonderland" novel series, only this is more of a very dark twist. Technically, after rereading "Alice in Wonderland," I can see how McGee looked at it from an insane perspective for the story could be perceived that way. Alice is witness to the untimely deaths of her parents in a house fire and quite simply, loses it. She winds up in a Victorian insane asylum and your objective as Alice is to help her regain her sanity by defeating the red queen and rescuing Wonderland from the dark depths it has fallen into. VERY dramatic, very well done and very, very mind blowing.

From the concept alone I could write volumes, but American McGee (who is the designer of the game) literally captured the perception of insanity in this game with this fantastic imagination. From the furniture floating in space outside the windows as you run by, to the insane children punching themselves and giggling but being unaware of your presence, to the vast maze of mirrors that is simply that -a maze of mirrors for you to find your way out it is literally DISTURBING, which makes it brilliant. True artwork intrigues the viewer and this is a masterpiece of the senses.

The game itself is chock full of adventure. There are puzzles and mazes galore as well as plenty of "weapons" to use against the baddies consisting of floating, screaming Boojums and cards of every suit with powerful weapons around every corner. The weapons that you find are toys with a diabolical twist (a jack-in-the-box that explodes, dice that conjure a demon to assist you and eventually a musket that blows anything away within the first 300 feet in front of you, let alone a bloody butcher knife that you begin with. But, this is NOT an easy game. As I said, there are plenty of mazes to start with, dodging the bad guys' weapons is difficult enough on the easy level, but throw in the Cheshire cat giving you clues in riddles in order to figure out what to do, let alone the mazes, and you have a game that is going to take you awhile to get through, but addicted to, nonetheless. Also, the controls, just like Quake, can be custom set to your own preferences. Plus, while working the game in the third-perspective, there are two helpful additions: first, there is a bright blue laser-type dot to help you lock on your target with weapons. Second, a pair of high-heeled transparent footprints show ahead of her to indicate exactly where she will land if she jumps. Very helpful. (Of course, if you're the impatient type, you can find the cheat codes on the internet.)

Probably the best part of the game would be it plays like a movie. The polite, but sarcastic conversation about butcher knives and killing between the Cheshire cat and Alice is wild and well written. There are specific characters she has to interact with in order for you to understand what you're looking for, clues that take figuring out and maybe a hint as to something nearby. If you're stuck, the mangy Cheshire cat, with a amazingly calm London British accent, pops up after pressing "c" on your keyboard and throws a hint or explains a new "toy" that you've found with dark sarcastic humor: "52 pickup is a staple of juvenile humor, but when the deck slices and dices, it's no laughing matter..." No kidding. Alice's insanity makes her quite sadistic for when she uses her butcher's knife as a weapon, she literally splatters blood--as well as body parts.

The design of the game's atmosphere is beyond brilliant. Keeping with the Victorian era, the game never steps out of that time period. Look around at any of the "machines" during this late 19th century game and you'll see that everything was thought through concerning the steam-powered machinery and tapestries -I can't think of a moment where something "modern" was accidentally stuck in. Every bit of this is molded after this particular era giving a stepping-out-of-time feeling. You'll literally "shift" back to reality when you quit the game. :)

The downside to this game is that it is so incredibly high in graphics it needs high speed and high RAM requirements as well as high drive space; you need to have a system that is up to par. I just happen to buy a new system that I had been saving up for, so I had no problem. MAKE SURE you check the requirements because in order to get this type of quality you should have a little more than the minimum requirements or it might be choppy. Don't buy the game if you don't have the minimum requirements and then get ticked off because it doesn't work as well. Good excuse to upgrade your system, but bad idea if you don't have the money to do so.

Alice is quite simply, brilliant. This is a keeper of a game and has made such an impact that Alice's homepage has informed the fans that the rights to a movie have been sold. (I suggest you check out their web page for more graphics and demos as well as teasers -I have no doubt that this will be considered a classic -and somehow they'll think of a sequel. Wonderland will literally leave you in awe. I guarantee it. It is dramatic, beautiful, and creepy and will leave you speechless for I still am in awe of the beauty of this game. Top notch!
