Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Pack - Empire of Ice Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $12.50
Today's Bonus: 37% Off

Great addition to the game. You get a new Skylander for your collection, an extra level and two magic items. Really fun to play with your kids or by yourself.
Please, don't give in to these insane prices. Do not pay more than 19.99 for this or any other adventure pack out there. I went to buy it today at my local Wal Mart and the guy that got to the rack before me grabbed the last four because they are going for more than $50 online. I drove down two miles and bought it at Target for $20. So be patient and let these scalpers sit on their stock. As a parent of three I ask you to help stop the abuse and the greed. :)
On another note, you can find this in stores now (normally retails for 19.99), so please don't support these scalpers by paying these exorbitant prices.
DARKLIGHT CRYPT was the most fun and challenging of the four with VERY helpful extra items and GHOST ROASTER is VERY POWERFUL and FAST!
IF YOU CAN WAIT..SAVE YOUR MONEY AN PUT IT TOWARDS SKYLANDERS GIANTS!!!!! SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE IN OCTOBER 2012!!!
GREAT NEWS!!!! Current figures released will be able to be used with in it too!!!
It seems like they tried to get it out before Christmas...but didn't quite make it!! Your targets wear SANTA HATS!!! The idea was really cool with the ice world and uneven ground so you slip and slide into cactus's and holes. But it was way TOO SHORT AND EASY.. when my just turned six year old (in Kindergarten!!!) son can complete it in 15 minutes or less on his first try, and WITHOUT my help!
SLAM BAM is very slow when you first get him, but eventually he gets his very own surfboard that lets him move quickly over any surface (like Zap). He is a Yeti and his primary power is a 4 fisted punch and his second power is ice that comes from underground and can trap his opponents (like Prism Break). With the eventual "choose your path" upgrades you can either strengthen his punch attacks and acquire armor or you can upgrade his ice prison attacks. His soul gem is found within this Adventure Pack of course, and consists of a YETI-COOLING factor where he can surf even faster and gets upgraded snow goggles too surf in.. The extras consists of an "Anvil Rain" that randomly land (and can even get in YOUR way when you are running away from something) and a "Sky-Iron Shield". The "Sky-Iron Shield" consists of two shields that rotate slowly around you when you choose to place them on the portal. There is some distance between them, so you can still be hit. My son likes Slam Bam, but I would have rather paid $8.00 for him alone! In a way he resembles Terrafin (with his punch attacks)...save your money and buy Pirate Seas (the treasure chest and pirate swords are much more helpful that come with Terrafin) if his skills sound appealing or buy this one used later on.
UPDATE: SKYLANDERS GIANTS will be out OCT 21st. This Adventure Pack is worthy of purchasing now. I've even seen sales for buy one, get one 50% off. It will work in both the first Skylanders game (of course) and it will work in SKYLANDERS GIANTS! This purchase will expand your levels in Giants too! The figure will have a re-pose that will be coming out as a Series 2 for Giants as well. The series 2 figures that are re-poses will work on the first Skylanders game too. If you prefer, you can buy the figure as a part of a Legendary Triple Pack. Either way, Slam Bam is here to stay for a while!
*Evidently the Anvil is quite helpful for the Wii players in accomplishing Drobot's Heroic challenge in hitting only the green chompies. Unfortunately I have a PS3 and it doesn't work for me.
I would encourage Amazon shoppers to take note of the stores scalping these and not purchase anything from them in the future.
As you can see in the picture, this set includes the following: the character Slam Bam, the Empire of Ice level, and Anvil Rain and Sky-Iron Shield, two items that are used immediately upon being placed on the portal. Slam Bam is a very strong and durable Skylander who fights with his powerful punches and can freeze enemies in a prison of ice. His special move, used by pressing the circle button (if you're playing on a ps3) lets him slide on the ground for a short distance. Sadly, this slide, which is a lot like Zap's Sea Slime move, is just for transportation and doesn't offer any kind of offense or defense. It's still a fast way of getting around compared to running. The punches are good when fully upgraded, but the best path for Slam Bam is upgrading his ice prison skill. With enemies immobilized, they're in for a world of hurt when Slam Bam comes stomping over. And for what it's worth, Mr. Bam can also surf on water with an ice surf board. Man this guy is stylin'!
The two items are both good but it felt weird using these since you don't get things like this during standard play. Place either item on the Portal, and they're activated instantly. Anvil Rain does exactly what the name impliesa ton of anvils fall from the sky for a short period of time, squashing everything they hit. As cool as it sounds, there are times when the anvils barely hit anything because they don't fall that rapidly, so enemies can move around before the next one hits the ground. Iron-Sky Shield is a nice item that protects your character for a limited time too. Both items are nice to have if an area's giving you a tough time, though the shield is the better of the two.
As for the Empire of Ice level itself, it's about the same length as any other level in the game. Many have complained about this, but with most levels in Skylanders being 15-25 minutes long, it fits right in with the others. To open the level, place the Empire of Ice piece on the Portal, and an area on the left side of the Ruins will open up. To get there, just go down to the beach, go past the boat on the left side and you can't miss it. The stage is a little frustrating since you're constantly sliding around on the icy floor, but it has some cool new enemies and two of my favorite hats in the gamea cossack hat and a Santa hat! The Santa one looks like your typical Santa hat but with spikes along the white fur bottom. Throw this baby on Slam Bam and it'll be a sure sign to evil-doers that he means business. I won't spoil anything about the stage and what's all in there, except I have to say that it ends in a very underwhelming way, and is the main reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. They couldn't have given us a more exciting final part? Hopefully the other Adventure Pack levels have better endings.
If you pay the original retail price for Empire of Ice, you're getting your money's worth. By now everyone knows that Skylanders is the huge thing in gaming, with Adventure Packs and characters selling out like crazy, which means inflated prices. Just be patient and you'll get one soon. And hey, by the time Giants comes out in a few months, all the focus will be on the new stuff that game brings along.

Empire of Ice is the first Adventure Pack we've bought, with the main reason being for Slam Bam. Of the 4 water types, he's the only one with ice-based moves, and that makes him unique. Plus it doesn't hurt that he looks like Bumble from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on steroids. This Pack's been selling out like crazy in the last few weeks, but if you're patient and keep checking this page, it's bound to show up again in no time.As you can see in the picture, this set includes the following: the character Slam Bam, the Empire of Ice level, and Anvil Rain and Sky-Iron Shield, two items that are used immediately upon being placed on the portal. Cheap Cribbage Quest - PC
You won't go wrong with this if you want a simple cribbage game at a great price. This is primarily for people who already know how to play cribbage though. There's no tutorial or practice mode, and the game automatically scores and pegs, so you'll be lost if you don't know the basic game rules.
Pros:
* I've been playing this for about two months now, and it seems stable. The scoring has been correct every time and the software hasn't frozen or quit unexpectedly.
* The interface is intuitive. The cards are large and easy to read, as is the cribbage board that is in the middle of the screen. I can't comment on the sound because I always play the game with the sound off.
* You have the option of playing a normal game or an "Adventure" game. The Adventure game is a multi-level game that involves some animated characters and a story line. You read 1-3 screens of text, and then play a cribbage game that is just like a normal game, except that you earn bonus points for certain card combinations, and sometimes the game is shortened to fewer points than the standard 121. I haven't completed the levels yet so I don't know if it gets more exciting than this... but I'm giving it a thumbs-up for mild entertainment value. However, I think many people would find this narrative game annoying and would prefer to just play the normal game.
Cons:
* The game automatically scores all the hands and moves the pegs. It would be nice to have the option to add up and enter my own hand score, and to validate my opponent's score. This way I'd get scoring practice and it would make the game a bit more fun and realistic by being able to call "muggins", or have it called on me.
* The game automatically tallies hands and applies the score. You can choose to have it count through each hand score too. Perhaps this is a nitpicky thing, but I've always been taught to count all the fifteens first, then the pairs, then the runs, etc: "fifteen two, fifteen four, a pair is six and a run of three is nine." This game counts through the hand in this order nobs, flushes, pairs, runs and fifteens: "a pair for two, a run of three for five, fifteen seven and fifteen nine." Because of this, my family members who are trying to learn cribbage by playing this game don't know how to announce their scores properly when we play a real game. When I play, I just skip these hand scores because this counting method really annoys me.
Overall, this game is a bargain and I recommend it to anyone who already knows how to play cribbage. This game is pretty fun, and a great 'time waster.' Now, it requires you to know how to play the actual game before starting, because like the other review said, there's no instructions or tutorial. I will add though, the music on this game is amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist - Xbox 360 Reviews
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $59.99
Sale Price: $50.28
Today's Bonus: 16% Off

I have no problem saying that this is the best Splinter Cell game to date. Customization and (except for some forced sequences) the choice to tackle a problem however you want is refreshing when compared to most games out there in circulation right now. The only issue I had with the customization was that it requires you to purchase weapons and equipment in order instead of picking and purchasing what is available.
That being said, my only true problem has nothing to do with game play mechanics but with the voice acting. This is the first Splinter Cell where Micheal Ironside does not voice the protagonist Sam Fisher. Eric Johnson does a fine job on his own but his voice is nowhere near that of Ironside's. The whole time I couldn't shake the feeling that I was playing as someone else besides the Sam Fisher fan's of the series know and love and even when listening to the game I still tried my best to imagine Ironside's voice instead.
Great game, I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the stealth/action genre of gaming.
Next time Ubisoft bring back Ironside for the voice (let someone else motion capture, technology can do it) and you'll have absolutely one of the best games of the year.
For a game bearing Tom Clancy's name, the plot line is exactly what you would expect. Terrorists are threatening to destroy something and an elite group of soldiers have been given carte blanch to stop them. In this case, terrorists are threatening to destroy the United States by systematically taking out high value targets, or what they call the Blacklist -things like energy, food; basically the backbones of the country. Sam Fisher of the elite 4th Echelon is tasked by the President to do anything necessary to stop the attacks. While the plot isn't spectacular, it serves it purposes to facilitate the missions and lead you towards the final encounter.
From the first mission it's evident that there is an enhanced fluidity to movement. It's easy to slip into the shadows, mantle over cover, climb up a pipe and drop down onto an unsuspecting enemy. There is a certain satisfaction in sitting in one spot for several minutes studying enemy movements to really plan out a route that will either let you slip by completely undetected, or to divide and conquer without raising any alarms. Each mission allows you to complete it any number of ways; some force you to remain undetected while others encourage it by sending in swarms of reinforcements. It proves beneficial to not start large scale gun battles.
One complaint I had with Splinter Cell Conviction was, while stealth was a game mechanic, there was very little true need to use it. That has completely changed with Blacklist. Sam Fisher can only take limited damage and when multiple enemies are attacking it can end very quickly. Planning before the mission is just as important. Deciding what gadgets and gear to equip before you put boots on the ground is imperative to making the mission go as smoothly as possible. There is a wide array of gadgets you can purchase with money earned during the mission such as smoke bombs, EMP grenades, sticky cameras, sleep gas grenades, etc. Depending on your play style, there is certain to be gear you will quickly fall in love with.
Graphically the game looks good. On Xbox there is an optional HD Texture pack that can be installed from disc 2. It's approximately 3 GBs of data; honestly if you have the space just download it for the full effect of the game. Lighting and shadows are well done. The lights on Sam's suit flare when you are under cover of darkness. They provide a nice indicator so you are not left guessing if you are in the shadows or not. Likewise, the sound track and effects are pretty good as well. They won't win any awards here, but they don't detract from the game either, but with one exception. I have a surround sound headset which is perfect for a stealth game like this. However, on more than one occasion the enemies footsteps did not mesh with where the enemy was on screen. This created some frustrating moments when I needed to go off enemy positions purely based on sound.
On top of the single player campaign there are two multiplayer offering as well. The first is the fan favorite Spies vs Mercs mode. Spies are elite, agile stealth-based characters who need to hack certain terminals, all done in third-person perspective. The Mercs and heavily armed, first-person based characters whose job is to stops the Spies from hacking or to kill the spy responsible for the hack before it completes. Playing as the Merc, there is always a sense of tension as you search for the spies, knowing at any moment you may be taken down by a lithe assailant. Conversely, as a Spy you know if you are caught in the open the fight will end quickly. There are a couple different modes within the Spies vs Mercs umbrella. Classic 2 vs 2, 4 vs 4, and then Uplink where there is a combination of Spies and Mercs on the same team. All three are high tension modes, but when you succeed luring an enemy into a kill spot and execute it to perfection, there are not many video game moments that can live up to it.
The other multiplayer mode is 14 Co-op based missions. These appear as side missions during the campaign, and all but 4 can technically be done solo. Yet, playing through these missions with a partner adds an entirely new level of strategy, planning, and tension. Executing double kills, having a partner distract a guard so the other can sneak up behind them and eliminate them is so rewarding. I have never hid the fact that I love co-op games, missions, or stories. While Conviction had a Co-op mode, it was a self-contained story and felt more like an add-on. The co-op in Blacklist feels and plays so well. Enemies rarely do the same thing no matter how many times you play a mission, so repeating the missions with different play styles, or partners, still offers an engaging experience.
I haven't enjoyed a Splinter Cell game this much since Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Blacklist went back to the roots of what made it an outstanding game and added more variety and appealing gameplay. I have always been a fan of stealth-based games, a few games claim to be stealth-based but quickly become run and gun games where the only stealth is hiding when you are waiting for your health to regenerate. Blacklist is not one of those games. It's a game that forces you to plan ahead, and rewards you for good choices, and punishes you for rash decisions.
Pros
Stealth, that actually works and is beneficial
Amazing Co-op and MP modes
Fluid movement
Cons
At times audio is out of sync with events on screen, most notable enemy footsteps
At times the control scheme gets in the way of the game
Splinter Cell Blacklist is the stealth game that Conviction promised it would be. With solid gameplay, and fantastic level design, it delivers many memorable moments while not sacrificing its true vision. Allowing the player to play anyway they want through almost each mission, and still feel as though it was the way the developers intended it, is a testament to how much Ubisoft wanted to get this right. Blacklist is a deeply rewarding game for those who take their time, plan, and execute a strategy. If you are looking for a fast paced, run and gun shooter you can play like that. If you are looking for a game where you can sneak past virtually every enemy leaving nothing but a shadow behind, you can play like that. If you want something in between those you, you can do that as well. While Conviction was a decent game, Blacklist excels as a stealth -based game with loads of replayability. This is one game I will be trying to convince as many friends as I can to pick up. This one is simply too good to ignore.
The plot makes sense in some sort of alternate universe, but frankly it's just a vehicle for a globe-trotting backdrop and creative level design. Thankfully "Mark and Execute" make a welcome return from Conviction allowing for lots of RTS-lite entertainment. Deaths were frequent but the fun-factor high enough so that they were never a barrier to try and try again.
One of my personal issues that I have is that Michael Ironside is no longer the voice actor for Sam Fisher. Having played the series from its inception, this was more than a little irksome. The elephant in the room (Eric Johnson is the new voice and also provides the motion-capture for Sam) becomes immediately apparent when climbing into character. Fortunately, I'm happy to report that ultimately you will probably come to be comfortable if not pleased with Eric's voice talent (which he does in fact possess) before the end of the game as I did. He's still not Sam in my personal opinion, but I admit that he's growing on me. If Ubisoft can't commit to bring Michael back to the series, then sticking with Eric is a tolerable second option.
We haven't spent a bunch of time playing co-op -which isn't exactly a harkening back to Chaos Theory -but provides for plenty of fun for two people to kill and kill time. We spent most of our time plowing through waves of enemies in any way we could. The best part was that can be on the same screen as well as online! Hurray for couch co-op!!! Spies vs. Mercs is also back. However since we kept getting our butts handed to us we opted to spend the majority of our time swapping playing the single player which is both globe-hopping and fun, and most importantly doesn't ever feel like you're repeating yourself.
Running and gunning is only good for about the first third to half of the game, so you may want to brush up on your stealth skills on occasion in the early missions since you'll need to employ at least some of your gadgets from time to time to advance. A couple of missions are utterly dependent on them. That isn't to say that the game isn't merciful enough to allow for lots of trial and error, but even when you die that old Splinter Cell feeling comes back enticing you to try new angles and tactics.
And that's the bottom line. If you're invested in Splinter Cell you'll be pleased to invest in Blacklist which is in our opinion is the best stealth game in this generation on the 360 (for reference Deus Ex was a close second).
The weapon systems are like COD, not as may but earn as you go. Before you go to a mission, you put together a loadout with whatever gear you want to use. You can also upgrade his suit, gloves, boots, etc. It seems like you can also climb and hide behind everything. The shooting is really good, but it takes a while to adapt to. The buttons are different than COD and changing weapons is different. You can't take out 10 guys by yourself but I guess that's more realistic. You also have to shoot the bad guys several times, at least with the initial weapons.
This game probably resembles Chaos Theory the most, except better missions and better graphics. The A.I. is good, typical SC where 2 guys are bitchin about their boss and you come up behind him and take him out. You're always on "the paladin" where you pick your mission and gear. The campaign missions can be played in different order to a point. The 3 or 4 people on the ship also have Ops for you to go to earn extra points for more gear.
The campaign starts in places like Benghazi, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Cons:
1 No Michael Ironside. The guy does a good job though.
2 Sam is 35 now. He should be in his 40's or 50's.
3 Multiplayer doesn't seem appealing yet.
4 No interrogations. You knock out a guy or terminate.
5 No saves. The checkpoints are few and far between.
My consensus is buy it if you liked the first 3. For the hardcore SC fan this one picked up where the last one dropped the ball. I'll go out on a limb and say probably best SC ever.
Re-edit as of 9/20
Made it to dic 2 and it keeps getting better. I highly recommend playing it at perfectionist setting, it last longer and is more challenging. No shadow of where you were seen, so xray vision, and more realistic.
My only qualm is the new character. The voice over does a good job but totally different persona. He used to be an older seasoned bad a**, now he is like a character from "Strike Back". He's younger, kind of a prick, and almost douchey, always mad-dogging the camera.
The gameplay however is excellent. I'm generally pretty harsh on reviews, but I can't imagine anyone not giving it 5 stars.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the latest installment in the beloved series. With Splinter Cell Conviction, Ubisoft decided to make the game less about stealth and more about brute force. Sure, there was the option at times of using stealth but I never felt the need to use it. With Blacklist however, stealth plays a much bigger role. Gone are the days when it was ok to charge headlong into a room emptying clip after clip on enemies. While I enjoyed Conviction, Blacklist takes all the good parts of Conviction and adds so much more to it.For a game bearing Tom Clancy's name, the plot line is exactly what you would expect.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We were very lucky to get an advance copy of Blacklist for the 360 and have been playing it pretty relentlessly for the past couple of days. If you are a fan of stealth genre games in general (especially latter Splinter Cell games) and the bombastic ridiculous set pieces of Call of Duty/Uncharted then you will have a blast playing Blacklist.
Honest reviews on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist - Xbox 360
I haven't got too far in the game only a level or 2. This installment is more similar to the first 3 than Conviction and Double Agent. I thought DA was OK and wasn't a huge fan of conviction. There are a few upgrades in Conviction that worked, and they are in this game. You can move from cover to cover with ease, it still has the shadow of you're last known position. A door says open on it (in small letters, there isn't writing all over the screen.) But the best part, the missions, are more like the first 3 original XBOX games.

Love this game, reminds a lot of my favorite one in the series which was Chaos Theory. Great single player campaign that you can play again and again. But the multiplayer is where it's at, Spies vs Mercs nuff said. My only complaint is that I wish there was more multiplayer maps. Maybe they will release some in the form of DLC.Monday, September 29, 2014
Best King of Fighters Neowave - Xbox Deals
When I first got this game I was a tad dissapointed. It Had NO Story. NONE! It had a smaller rooster then KoF2002(46 After every1 is unlocked in Endless mode)& many of the characters I was good with were tweaked to the point that I was thrown completely off my game(I'm looking @ you Mature & Geese).
The graphics were kinda off also, High res semi-3-D Backdrops & lower rez sprites(which look even worse when compared to KoF 2003 or even KoF evolution for Dreamcast). However the graphics can be adjusted to your liking, with the ability to soften the characters & 6 dif(very subtle)levels of sprite detail as well as 2 dif options for background detail, you can make it look presentable.
The audio is spotty @ best. While the voices come out crisp & clear, the music sounds like it was composed on an 8th graders keyboard. It's repeatitive & annoying in most stages & forgetable in the others.
Now for the good part, while @ first I was vastly irritated with the character balancing after I played for a while I got used to it. For once in an SNK game EVERY1 is prettymuch an equil(exceptions may go to Ralph & Jun Hoon)! Even the bosses, the usually overpowered, cheep, make you want to pull your hair out bosses are balanced to mid teir players! Omega Rugal is the most balanced I have ever seen him & Young Geese is the easiest SNK boss I've ever fought!Trust me when I say thats a GOOD thing. This is a tournament quality game in terms of playability. Also due to the balancing novice players who have never played a KoF game will be able to pull of combos & special attacks without trouble(The supercombos are extremely hard to do @ some points, but thay really aren't needed anyway)
Next for any1 who has ever played Capcom vs.SNK 2:EO or Street Fighter Alpha 3, they will love the variety of gameplay options simular to the groove system in place with the above games.
There are 3 systems to choose from:
Super Cancel: which allows variety in escape manuvers & wicked combos by means of special/Super canceling(Balanced mode simular to KoF 2002 Engine)
Guard Cancel: (My Personal Fav:)) Allows for Just Defence (which is simular to the parrying manuvers in StreetFighter III Series)the ability to break your opponents block,& a few escapes (Defencive mode)
MAX2: Here you have one super combo bar that fills constantly between supers, allows guard cancel & lets you unleash a Super Powerful super combo when your health gets low(Extremely agressive mode, Good for beginers).
These modes add ALOT of replay-ability to a game that lacks a story of any kind. Also new is a heat mode that drains your health in exchange for double attack power but it seems poinltss b/c it takes more health from you then you opponent.
Also there are a few game play modes to keep you occupied, Endless mode, which is a survival mode that lets you unlock portraits & characters(Kasungi, Seth, Omega-Rugal), Single battle/Vs., Team Battle/Vs., & a color Edit mode where I killed ALOT of time.
All in all if a little bit more time was put into adding some win quotes & music this would be my fav KoF yet. It has the most balanced gameplay & options seem since Fan Fav KoF 98. If your one for gameplay over graphics this is the game for you, if not then sorry you missed out.
As you would expect from any KoF game, there's a huge roster here, with many of the SNK favorites to chose from. It seems to me that some of the fighters got a bit of a boost over previous incarnations, and some may have been toned down. Terry's power geyser doesn't look as impressive as it did in other games, and it may just be me, but it seems he has a harder time with some of the cast than he would have in other games. Andy, and Joe on the other hand seem to have gotten a nice boost.
Visually the game doesn't look all that great, when compared to other 2d fighters...namely those from Capcom. The backgrounds do look good. They have a 3d look. But the actual fighters are heavily pixilated. Still despite the appearance, the game is loads of fun, and offers up quite a few different modes to play in.
Thanks to a patch from Microsoft, this game plays on the xbox 360. If you have a 360 or for some reason are still playing on the original xbox, and you're a 2d fighting fan, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
This game will supply me with my 2d fighting fix, until Street Fighter 4 is released later this year.
Now for a few facts and tidbits about this particular version of the game. The US XBOX version of the game is missing Angel and May Lee. They are only in the Japanese PS2 version. Furthermore, the Japanese PS2 version does support online play from what I see on the box. Not to mention that the standard PS2 controller is much better suited for fighting games then the standard XBOX controller and it's fairly obvious which version is supierior.
The only problem with the PS2 import is that you either need a flip-top, slider card, or MOD Chip to play it and that the cheapest .
However, after saying this, if you already have a modded PS2 and are looking to pick up this game, get it imported. It's not really because of the two extra hidden characters as it is about the PS2 being more fighter-game friendly. It's the standard for them. And while $35 is quite a jump compared to the price of $15, well...that's just my personal preference. And I know for a fact that I'm not the only one that has problems with XBOX ports to 2D fighters. And, at least, you are not paying $70-$80 for the PS2 import for King of Fighters XI, $65-$75 for the PS2 import of Samurai Shodown 0, and $60-$70 for the PS2 import of NeoGeo Battle Collosium.

king of fighters is a game where if you have played one you have played them all. the games are basic fighters. this game has several returning characters. only a few of them are interesting. KOF has long been accused of being a street fighter clone and to a large extent that was true. the later games like those on xbox though the games have changed quite a bit giving you three on three tournaments, class groupings, etc. i like it and recomend it to die-hard fighting fans and to those who are curious.Best Deals for King of Fighters Neowave - Xbox

Being an old school gamer, I have a soft spot in my heart for the 2d brawlers. The current 3d fighters on the market look incredible, but I've always found them lacking. Basically, this is a KOF 2002 clone with a bunch of tweeks to it. What I mean by "tweeks" is that a good deal of the existing characters that were in 2002 had their stats modified a little bit as well as a few combo changes. Not to mention that the new groove system for Neowave also disturbs some of the balance in the character rooster. I won't go in depth about character tiers in this game. Go visit some fighting game boards if you want that. But basically, this is just a diffrent flavor of KOF 2002. No more and no less. Now for a few facts and tidbits about this particular version of the game. The US XBOX version of the game is missing Angel and May Lee. They are only in the Japanese PS2 version. I played Agarest:Generations of War and I had to play this game. Like other reviewers say, it is quite similar to the original game. Although it only has 2 Generations instead of 5, The Free DLC Dungeons and storyline still gave me 120+ Hours of gameplay. The first playthrough is Normal and unlocks Extra mode to allow you to earn trophies and master the game the 2nd time around. The graphics are a small upgrade and a slightly better from Records of War. I was not disappointed and can't wait to purchase Agarest Senki 2 if it comes out in English.
Anyway, this is actually a prequel to 2010's Agarest War, though no knowledge of the first is needed. The premise here is, for all intents and purposes, the same as the original-a rather epic (in length) adventuring campaign with a very sizable cast of characters and villains that spans generational gaps beyond the years of the original protagonist, drawn out by his offspring that you have some ability to mold through your actions. Good versus evil, light versus dark, all that good stuff. Character offspring is the "hook" to the Agarest series, where decisions made in dialogue raise and lower virtual affection levels of heroines in a way akin to a stereotypical Japanese dating sim. Awkward for some players, certainly, but there are no 'right' or 'wrong' answers. The outcome is -muchthe same regardless in the end, but see below for more info.
The other major selling point on the series, for better or worse, is a rather intricate battlefield system that will certainly cause some head-scratching amongst new players. Team tactics play a large roll and using combined skills of all types add extra damage that's an absolute must as things get harder. There are ~150 skill combinations in total and over about a hundred abilities to learn/research, where the player is limited to only equipping a certain number at any given time. The learning curve isn't bad, but that's partially because of the massively high number of total battles.
Here stands a large point of contention for me, at least-even though the hope is for combat to never really be entirely the same and for players to use all sorts of fancy attacks, it all feels so, so familiar as you move ahead. Drone-like, in fact. As you'll be fighting hundreds of times against what are essentially the same 20 types of baddie, it can become very draining. The sensation of "can we get on with the story now?" can become overwhelming at times. For players of the first, the combat system is almost completely unchanged and has only a few minor tweaks.
Another now-heavily recycled piece of the game is the equipment and upgrade/synthesis type. It's tried and true over several games now, and though there's nothing wrong with the user-friendly upgrading system, some kind of evolution would be welcomed. The interface is bland, items are notoriously hard to find materials for, and names of weapons and armor are almost a 100% copy-paste.
Add things up and the end result is almost exactly that of the first Agarest with no fundamental changes, and only a handful of surface adjustments. The sheer length of the game exasperates this all, though it does make the game a pretty good value. I'm not per say disappointed, but I may have hoped for more. Zero is by no means a "bad" game for RPG or strategy buffs, but it lacks a spark of something that would help to call it "exceptional".
For anyone that enjoyed the first, there's no specific reason why they should stay away from Zero, at least if they know to expect virtually the same game with new scripts and fonts. The multiple-ending system is back, and although I'm sure there'll be a guide as to how to get absolutely all content in one play-through, there's a pretty obvious assumption that the player will go at least a second round on "Extra" (difficult).
If you're looking at this edition, you've probably played the first or know the JRPG market... in which case it's your call on wanting to throw on a little more for a few toys, which include soundtrack and a rather snazzy card deck with characters on one side, and another depicting the protagonist class and secondary trait cards as seen in-game.
Although it's repetitive as hell and it's grind-fest game,
it's still the standard J-SRPG that we fans love.
Hoping to get more j-SRPGS in my collection

Note-I've edited this review as a 4/5 star from a 3 for -justthe Limited Edition and not the "regular", though the actual entry can't be changed in the review system. Between the goodies thrown in with the box and parts of the game that are very very fan-friendly JRPG and original Agarest players, it's downright a better product, so this review is kind of with the more 'serious' player in mind.Anyway, this is actually a prequel to 2010's Agarest War, though no knowledge of the first is needed.

The game is awesome and it's really fun to play with.Although it's repetitive as hell and it's grind-fest game,
it's still the standard J-SRPG that we fans love.
Hoping to get more j-SRPGS in my collection

Buy Xbox 360 Elite
I ORDERED THE X-BOX 360 ELITE ALTHOUGH IT WAS $183.00 IT WAS NOT A GIFT. I PAID REAL MONEY AND I DIDN'T GET A COMPLETE ORDER LIKE HE ADVERTISED. I WAS MISSING THE CONTROLLERS, THE HEADSET, AND THE CABLES. ALL YOU ARE GOING TO GET FROM THIS SELLER IS BAD ATTITUDE. DO NOT EXPECT TO GET ALL OF THE ITEMS THAT HE POSTS. DON'T COMPLAIN BECAUSE HE WILL LET YOU KNOW. DON'T ASK FOR A REFUND BECAUSE YOU AREN'T GOING TO GET ONE FROM THIS SELLER. SO, IF YOU WANT TO GAMBLE AWAY YOUR MONEY LIKE I JUST DID, THEN ORDER FROM HIM.

Don't get fooled by the name, "Elite." Its not really an Elite Xbox 360. One it doesn't have a hardrive. Plus it doesnt come with any controllers or av-cords. Just the console and the power cord. Fortunately I had a controller and an av cord lying around the house. But the price was okay, so I guess thats good.Best Deals for Xbox 360 Elite
The Xbox arrive on time and was wrapped under the tree. My son opened it Christmas Morning, hooked it up and it work perfectly for 4 days, then it red ringed (3). I contacted the seller and they did agree to take the item back. I sent the item back and was refunded my money. Thank you. Though my son was very disappointed about his gift not working, I was pleased that they took the item back and refunded the money.Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Elite

Buy Xbox 360 Official NFL Baltimore Ravens Controller Faceplate
My girlfriend got me this faceplate as a gift and it is very nice for any xbox playing Ravens fan. Snaps on nice on both sides. Only problem for me was after a year the little plastic clips that keep it on the controller eventually broke. Overall it's a nice gift and you get what you pay for.I bought this for my 8 year old son who loves the Ravens. He likes to play Madden 11 with his step dad who is a Steelers fan. I actually bought my husband a Steelers faceplate. They love them and they clip right on the controller. Excellent for any XBOX playing, football fanatic!

Cheap Jaws: Ultimate Predator - Nintendo Wii
I finally bit the bullet and bought a Wii last week. While buying the Mario/Wii bundle I also bought this game. Being a big Jaws movie fan and owning the previous Jaws game, "Jaws Unleashed" for the PC, I thought it would be fun to play a man-eating shark on the Wii. Well I've been playing it over a week now and can say that overall it is a pretty fun game. Nothing in the Zelda, Mario Bros. realm of "fun", but it's still better than most of the games out there today.
Pros:
Has the actual Jaws song in it (John Williams version) unlike "Jaws Unleashed"
Graphics are pretty decent overall. Lots of blood when biting and attacking other fish/people. Kinda cartoonish which
is why the game is rated "T"....although the 3DS version is rated "M", which boggles me??
Fun to be a shark and eat everything in sight
Doesn't have the extremely hard "search & find" levels like "Jaws Unleashed" had, although some levels are kind of frustrating (you have to bite and drag a person across the surface of the water in one level, which took me awhile to understand)
Easy & fun Wii controls; Guiding the shark through the water and lunging at victims with the Wii remote is fun
Cons:
The fun only lasts for about an hour or so...this game is like a book, where you read a couple of chapters & then put the book down only to pick it up another day to read a couple more chapters
A couple of the levels are somewhat frustrating to understand at first
Doesn't have an "open world" setting like the previous Jaws game did. You CAN swim anywhere you want, but there are some restrictions
Some parts of the game have glitches; The shark became stuck in an underwater reef a couple of times and I had to manually restart the level, but then again I can't think of a game that doesn't have glitches like that.....especially in "Skyrim" (sheesh, now that game has some SERIOUS glitches, haha)
No multiplayer (not that there would be, but I'm sure somebody out there is curious to know)
Overall, this is a good game for the avid Jaws enthusiast or to a person that likes to attack and eat anything in it's path when it comes to playing video games. The controls seem pretty smooth and easy using the Wii remote, not to mention it's fun to command a giant shark around the sea! I probably put about 4hrs into this game so far and it doesn't look like there's an ending any time soon, so that's a good note. Hope this review helps a little bit! ~ Thanks for reading
First the good. I really liked the variety of environments the game offers; it isn't just looking at the same old ocean floor over and over again. You have to make your way through alligator infested swamps, bust out of scientific research facilities, scavenge sunken ships, dodge volcanic explosions, and even explore ancient temple ruins. And because your settings change so often, so do the types of enemies you encounter. Barracuda, hammerheads, squids, whales, scuba divers. and even plesiosaurs(!) are just a handful of the creatures that stand in your path towards freedom, and some of them are actually quite challenging and require a certain amount of critical thinking or stealth to overcome. The music is authentic and the sound effects are very realistic which adds to the ambiance. The plot was okay, playing out over a series of cartoonish cutscenes genetic engineering gone corrupt, something something something but I honestly wouldn't think about it too hard, lol.
My main gripe, however, is with the awful controls. You play in a fully free-roaming environment, which sounds great but I'll be gosh darned if I didn't get stuck in every single corner. Since you're playing as a great white shark, you need a somewhat wide berth to get yourself situated, and it just wasn't happening. The camera angle would turn every crazy angle so you couldn't tell up from down, or it might pan above the surface of the water, making you lose track of yourself completely. I met my demise many times simply because I couldn't see anything. (I've considered if maybe this was just me, but a friend who is a more seasoned gamer tried it out and said the same thing.) The combat system, while easy to learn, was iffy at best, despite the numerous upgrades you can unlock. It was slow and unresponsive, which means an enemy could potentially strike you two or three times before Jaws will land even one hit, then he'll go back to being stationary for several seconds waiting to unleash his next hit, even though you've been furiously mashing the A and B buttons the whole time. Meanwhile you're getting pummeled to death. Hence the so-called "combo" system was rendered practically useless, not to mention half his attacks went right through the enemies anyway with no effect. (It didn't bother me so much, but it might be worth noting that there's virtually no blood in the game. The occasional red cloud would pop up for a brief moment here and there, but despite the T rating it definitely has the younger audience in mind.)
So overall the game was an odd mix of fun and frustration. But like I said, I did stick with it to the very end, so it wasn't TOO painful. The shortcomings will make themselves evident soon enough, and it's just up to you to figure out ways around them. If Jaws was a little less clunky and a little more fluid, it would have easily been worth upwards of 4 stars. But as it is, it's a "just okay" adventure game that I don't regret buying for the price I paid, but am in no big hurry to re-play anytime soon, either.
the wii version has no blood and is boring. the controls are bad...they could have used the wiimote much better than they did...controlling jaws is way to sensitive. makes it hard to control him.
graphics are horrible even for wii standards...cut scenes are just images..the 3ds graphics are great and even more in 3d.

I'm only a casual gamer, so I sort of went into Jaws: Ultimate Predator more or less blindly, reading just a handful of so-so reviews beforehand. I played it to completion about 20 levels over a span of 6 to 8 hours and I have mixed feelings about it.First the good. Honest reviews on Jaws: Ultimate Predator - Nintendo Wii
This game is not very good. It almost reminded me of Ecco The Dolphin from years ago on Sega except that was way better than this game. The game play is hard to master and remember with so many different moves. It is very hard to see and you kind of get dizzy trying to figure out where you are. It lacks a lot of things and I would not recommend it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Jaws: Ultimate Predator - Nintendo Wii

BLUE TIGER Xbox 360 Modded Controller (Rapid Fire) COD Black Ops Review
I have purchased 3 modded controllers all for xbox 360 and all from geniusmods. two had a mod buton under the controller, this one uses the synch button for enacting the mods. this makes it difficult to do mid game as the controller resets. Prefer the other style.

My wide loves the DDR games but, I am not going to buy a playstation just for the DDR games. After I installed the game on my computer I just had to set the dance pad and we were dancing within 10 mins. Hook you computer to a TV and it plays just like the DDR games.Best Deals for Dance Dance Revolution Multi-Platform Super Sensors Non-Slip Dance
I waited 6 long days to get this, but the package contained only the pad. I sent an email to the seller TWICE but no reply for 4 days. And DO NOT BUY THIS PAD if you play pc ddr games only. It's so expensive only because it's compatible with PS2, XBOX, and PC. And it's actually as slippery as the cheap $9.99 pad. I still didn't get the game, so I downloaded the demo, and it was awesome! I recommend you buy the cheap $9.99 and the game In The Groove separately rather than buying this freaking expensive-for-nothing package.Honest reviews on Dance Dance Revolution Multi-Platform Super Sensors Non-Slip Dance
We purchased this as a present for my daughter. The description says it works on the PS2 XBox and your PC. Well be VERY careful they don't provide the technology for that to actually happen. For more money you can get the software to actually make it work on your PS2.Buyer beware of this group.
