Review of Oddworld Stranger's Wrath

Oddworld Stranger's Wrath

**UPDATE** Sad news from Lorne Lanning and Oddworld Inhabitants, the creators of this spectacular series. Oddworld Inhabitants is closing its doors. After creating 4 games in what was supposed to be a huge series and with 2 games already in development for next gen systems, they are closing up. Chances are this will be the last game featuring the loveable creatures of Oddworld. But fear not, Lanning believes he might be able to crack into the TV or movie business in order to have his property protected. Keep an eye on them. They are so talented, their studio might be the next Pixar.

On to the review:

I'm very disappointed in the mistreatment this game has been getting from the professional online reviewers like IGN, Gamespot and Gamespy. When I was trying to figure out if this game was worth purchasing or not, I had to literally search the entire page at the Xbox branch of IGN just to find the review. Normally, reviews get top billing; not the case with this beautifully unique game.

A lot has been said about the "gimmick" of having live ammo. Given the series of Oddworld (Abe's Oddysee and Exodus, Munch's Oddysee), how someone could label the live ammo as a gimmick is beyond me. Oddworld is a world very different from our own. Stranger's Wrath just heightened this oddity by giving you creatures to fire instead of finding ammo for your tripple-barrelled, shoots rockets and has a flame-thrower attached, shotgun. And it fits in the universe perfectly. Now, if this was a Halo game (for example), yes having live ammo would be a gimmick. But, it fits in perfectly with the Oddworld mythos and provides a truly engaging experience.

Another thing that I feared after reading the sorely mistaken (IMO) professional reviews was that it was virtually impossible to capture the bosses alive. Being a bounty hunter, it is your mission to capture wanted villains either dead or alive. By capturing them alive you get two or more times the money than capturing them dead.

Now, if you were to read a lot of reviews from IGN etc, it would seem that you couldn't capture any of the bosses alive. While I have been playing games all of my life and am better than the average gamer in some respects, I would definitely not consider myself a master of the FPS genre. By any stretch. And yet I was able to capture every single boss alive. Now, there were a couple that made me very frustrated and it took me more than a handful of tries to do it, I was able to. The game definitely makes you work to get that full bounty but it's not impossible.

As far as the story goes, the developers once again created a uniquely different story involving Stranger and his past. I will not reveal any story spoilers, but not is all what it seems and there will come a point where the way you look at the game changes in an exciting way. And from that point on, the game ramps up the excitement to a wonderful climax.

Graphically, the game is beautiful. It makes me remember why I bought the Xbox. Not only are the lush environments beautifully rendered, but the framerate moves swiftly. Seeing Strange bound at a cheetah speed through these beautiful environments is striking. There is some pop-up, especially in Mango (sp?) Valley where bushes will pop up in the distance. But considering the speed and the graphics the game is pushing, it doesn't really bother me.

As far as controls go, this game is well designed. Switching between first person and third person is as easy as tapping the R3 button. This change works really well, giving you the best of both worlds, the percision of first person shooting, and the fluidity and speed of moving in third person. I have a couple complaints though. Moving up and down rope is a pain. The animation is kinda clunky and I don't see why you can't slide down rope, instead of hand over hand moving down it. Hey, if the Prince can slide down rope, why can't Stranger? But this is a minor quibble.

As far as the sound goes, again Oddworld Inhabitants (the developers) did an excellent job. Stranger's voice is a little silly to me, he talks in a slow drawl that seems to be a cross between Clint Eastwood and Forrest Gump. But the other voices are remarkable, especially considering that most (if not all) are done in house with the Lead voicing most characters in all of the Oddworld games.

My only real complaint is that the game isn't long enough. It's longer than Halo 2 (which is a bonus), and I don't know exactly how many hours I clocked in on it, but it felt like it was over too fast. I guess what disappointed me was that I was having so much fun exploring Oddworld again that no matter how long or short it was I would be sad to leave it. The world is just so interesting.

The level design is also very linear. In today's world of GTA openness, people might have a problem with that, which is why I bring it up. The levels have a set path. That's not to say the gameplay is linear. There are MANY different ways to tackle every situation. The joy of having live ammo is that you are presented with a myriad of ways to take down the opposition, creating gameplay that allows you to experiment. But if you're looking for a Deus Ex type of environment where there are multiple paths to get to the boss, you won't find it here.

What the game does best is refresh video games. From the opening CG cinema (which is Pixar quality) to all of the loveably strange and bizarre characters, this game oozes originality and charm. You can tell the developers truly care about the artform of video games. They love what they do and the game was a refreshing experience.

To sum it up, I can't say enough about this game. It is unique. It is beautiful. And it is fun. Even after the 5th time trying to take down a boss alive, I didn't throw down the controller in anger. It kept me wanting to play until I could take him down. If you are tired of the same old save Earth from "insert name of alien race here", or similar I would definitely recommend this game. It is hard, but it is easily one of the most enjoyable games I have played in ages. And the jolt of energy the games gives you about half way through the game is enough for me to recommend buying this game.

I read an article on wired.com/news about this game and couldn't wait to get a copy. Got the Prima guide with it, which has been worth the money so far (third day).

I bought a Gamecube and later a PS2 and only recently bought an Xbox (I don't like MS) and I hate to say that the graphics, at least in this game, are out-freaking-standing. Approaching photo-realistic. The scenery in O:SW is PHENOMENAL, great late-afternoon sunset lighting with beautiful little touches like bits of fluff from weeds providing counterpoint to the action and firepower. The graphics really pop.

The "live ammunition" takes some getting used to in much the same way that it took me a while to figure out how to play the PC version of Lemmings oh-so-many-years-ago. It's GREAT fun, very imaginative, and the mazes are terrific so far. The villians are as rotten as they ought to be and the Stranger is a brilliant idea. I'm really looking forward to getting through my day and firing up the Xbox to play some more, and I just don't play that many games (I'm an OLD fart). Or maybe I'm just picky -it's not every day, or every YEAR, that I find a game that I like, and I **LIKE** this game!

The game feels really tight overall, they did a great job producing it. Good concept, great art direction, the gameplay is a lot of fun -I love this game! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! THIS ONE'S WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!

Oddworld has made some great games in the past and this one is no exception. It happens to be my favorite out of all of the series. If you have an X-Box this game is a must buy and I'm really hoping for a sequal.

For me to give a game five stars it needs to have a great story-line and this one has one. You're basically a bounty hunter that nobody knows about, The Stranger. You have always taken out outlaws just for the fun of it and never really cared about the pay. Now its different, you need the money for an operation that your life depends on. Now I know you may be saying to yourself that the story-line sounds a little cheesy and dull, but it really starts kicking in when you are playing the game and I dont want to give anything away.

The gameplay is where the game really flies. The game is basically a shooter because of the bounty type, but you can switch in and out of first person mode and third person mode during the gameplay which is great. The gun you get is the double barrel crossbow and your ammo, well, its live oddworld critters. The live ammo you can use consists of Stunkz(little skunks that distract the enemy), Bolamites(They wrap up the enemy with web), Chippunks(they are basically made for distracting an enemy), Zappflies(Made for catching other ammo), Fuzzles(shoot em on the ground and the first enemy to walk by will have the fuzzle eating the life out of them), Thudslugs(Powerfull shot), Boombats(explosive bombs), Stingbees(like a machine gun), Wasps(Made for sniping). The great thing about the double barreled crossbow is that you can have two different kinds of ammo in it and shoot both at the same time if you want. You can also upgrade your ammo and upgrade almost everythinfrom the size of your ammo bag to your speed to your stamina and even brass knuckles for fighting. When you are in third person mode you can punch, and you can revive your health by using up your stamina meter. You will get the normal things in a city of a bounty game like bounty store and amm store and other places. I always love checking out the bounties because they always have wierd creatures. Collecting bounties is also a bit different in oddworld. You can either kill the bounty or take him while he's alive. You bag bounties by sucking them up in your little special device on your arm. You can colect unlimited amounts of bounty this way and just throw your arm on the bounty desk and get lot of money.

The graphics in the game are amazing, I dont know if its because of the environments that really bring them out or if its just the graphics in general. The environments look amazing and even some places are breath taking, like the snow level or when you are in the factory at the end of the game and your friends are throwing in gigantic fireballs. The Stranger also looks amazing and he is one of my favorite game characters.

The sound is great and I love listening to the creatures walking around in the city. It has plenty of wierd cool sounds and I love how your ammo talks back to you. The controls are also excellent and are easy to get into.

Well this game is defenitley a five out of five for me and I recommend this game to everyone especially to those oddworld fans. This game is one of my favorite games and I will never sell it because everytime I look at the cover it gives me that feeling that I want to play it again.

Honest reviews on Oddworld Stranger's Wrath

The title I put is a bold claim; especially with the recent release of Halo 2. But honestly, this latest incarnation of Oddworld offers the most fun I've had on the XBox with a third/first person shooter. At first the game fools you The live ammo seems a little gimmicky and trudging from one bounty boss to another seems initially tiring. But this game has a storyline like no other. Just when you think you've completed the game EVERYTHING changes in a good way. It's like two games in one and both parts are incredible. If you don't want to know anymore then stop reading now and go play the game! I didn't know about the 'surprise' path the game takes and was blown away. One minute you're in the Wild West, the next you're in a Halo-esque futuristic world full of cranes, spaceships, cannons, rockets and all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures. Gone are the linear quests to rope in badguys replaced by a fairly free roaming world of adventure. Truly huge effort has been placed into both elements of gameplay and the graphics, sound, dialogue and even the strange ammo system is perfect. I simply loved this game a jewel in the XBox crown.

The people at Oddworld tell amazing stories, and Stranger's Wrath is no exception.

The 3rd person action/adventure / 1st person shooter... and all of it beautiful.

I was a little wary of the 1st person shooter aspect, especially with the "Live Ammo", but once I started playing, I was hooked.

What the guy before me said about the last part being worth the price alone... it's all true.

THIS is how you make a game. I'd put it up there with Ninja Gaiden and the Halo games.

X-Blades is pretty much a mindless hack and slash with guns and magic thrown in for good measure. You play as Ayumi, a treasure hunter whose come across a map to a temple where the powers of two gods, The Light and The Dark, are being held. Or something like that, being the type of game this is, the story was kind of lacking.

Ayumi carries two gun-blades that she can either hack and slash at monsters, or she can shoot them. Also, as you collect souls from fallen monsters and broken objects in the environment, you'll be able to purchase magic spells to help aid you in your quest.

The gameplay is simple, yet fun. Of course it doesn't hurt that the main character is pretty hot and wearing a thong. You go from one level to the next and can't pass on to the next until you've killed all the monsters in the area. Sometimes you have to just kill everything, sometimes there are monster generators that you have to destroy, sometimes there are special elemental monsters that can only be killed with a certain spell, and then there are boss fights.

The graphics in this game are actually really good. The only thing that I found odd with the graphics is the lighting, which they seem to overuse alot. There were sometimes when Ayumi would just disappear into a bright glowing light. And there's a couple of levels that take place on a beach, and it looks like Ayumi's skin in glowing red like she's got the worst tan ever. Other than that, the character models and the environments look really good.

Sound wise...the soundtrack is actually pretty good with it's rock and techno beats. However, the voice acting was just god awful. The guns sound powerful like they should though.

The game is kinda short, maybe 5 or 6 hours long. You could probably beat it in one aftertoon if you really wanted. But I personally had so much fun playing through it the first time that a few days after I beat it I started a new game and am about to beat the game for a second time. After you beat the game, you unlock new costumes for Ayumi to wear, which is kinda nice.

All in all, it was a fun experience. Just don't go in expecting a great story with well thought out characters. If you're just looking for some mindless fun with some good eye candy to look at while you're doing it, then you probably can't go wrong with X-Blades.

I'll be honest, I bought the game primarily for the main reason that most other guys bought it. However, the game itself is pretty good. The use of magic and intuitive, and doesn't impede her progress as she's battling with her swords. The only negative I have with the game is that I have to turn the graphics way down to play the game without it slowing, and I've got a Core-2-Quad. Well, I guess it's time to ge tthat new graphics card.

I bought X Blades primarily because I like 3rd person games with attractive heroines (I'm a long time fan of the Tomb Raider series). After a few hours of game play I can say that I am not disappointed: the whole game is gorgeous (not just the main character); the PC controls are very responsive without being twitchy; the bosses are difficult enough without being impossible, and; the soundtrack adds nicely to the combat experience. Also, gameplay is surprisingly smooth on my "last generation" PC (3.2Ghz P4, Radeon x1950, 2GB DDR400 RAM, Vista Home Premium, 160GB 7200RPM SATA HDD, 1440 X 900 resolution display) at the game's default settings. Since I play games for the mindlessness and the eye candy I won't comment on the quality of the plot. Overall I feel it was money well spent.

Honest reviews on X-Blades - PC

Well, this game gave me what I deserve for 10 dollars.

It is a game that is...well, worth the money for a couple hours of try out but I would not recommend it to anybody.

1. The hits are water-like and weak

The main purpose of hack and slash game is not HD graphic hot chick but the actual excitement of beating stuff up.

This game, compared to Devil May Cry series, feels like I am swinging a pain brush. No 'HIT'. No realism. No excitement.

2. Some enemies are rather annoying to kill.

Enemies who fly are probably what made me quit this game. Since they fly so fast and high I feel impossible to catch em with my sword

in mid air and eventually find myself just shooting over, and over, and over, and some fire balls.

I remember in D.M.C 4 that I can jump and perform some amazing actions while staying in mid air. Here? nope.

3. Story line is probably even worse than Skyrim.

Simply said, I think whoever made this thought of this story line during a 15 minute nap time.

I write a couple fictions as hobby, and I am not being narcissistic or big-headed but my amateurish 200 page fictions sound better than

She went into dungeon for ash-she got a sick treasure-the treasure granted her some power-time to die everybody-the end.

...I mean, really? The characters are 1 sided and rather feel like dolls saying lines rather than a 'live' person.

I do understand that this is a game, but I remember seeing some amazing story lines from these cartoonist chars from Final Fantasy Series.

Overall this game is something you could just try out instead of a big mac meal.

I do not recommend it. I really don't.

X-Blades is your basic hack and slash type game with a scantly clad chick going against countless monsters. The game's main character Ayumi, comes off as a stuck up cheerleader that has not matured since high school. The story line is interesting, despite its linear context, and the graphics is out of this world (I am not just talking about Ayumi). Overall the game leaves one with a Tomb Raider like feel and game play. The controls are good for the keyboard and mouse users, but game pad wise can be kind of iffy at best. Overall I give the game 4 stars.

P.S. ignore the first reviewer for this download edition of the game; that person either has an issue with his/her controller setup or something else is not configured correctly.

I love tennis, yet I have never owned a tennis video game before, so I took a look at the two "known" games on the market: Virtua Tennis 2009 and Top Spin 3. I won't go into a review of Top Spin 3, but I will say the differences are HUGE! First off, VIRTUA's graphics are PS2, at best. This really surprised me for being an XBox 360 game. The characters are very repetitive in their appearances, sticking with the same base model and changing only slightly. As for the "pros", forget it. They look nothing like the real pros (Top Spin does). The gameplay is unrealistic. Unforced errors are pretty much non-existent, so hit away. You can only get points off of aces and outright winners. The Career Mode is really poor in the fact that it takes a really, really, really long time to get through the various stages. For instance, you start out in the Amateur ranks at #100 and you must play many matches to advance. Typically, you will only advance one or two spots per tournament, depending upon whether you also play doubles or not. At no time can you move-up and challenge a high-ranking player. You have to stick with the players in your ranking bracket and move up from there. This process takes a very long time and the opponents offer you absolutely no competition once you get the hang of things. Once you reach the Top 10 of the Amateurs, you can then enter the Pro Tour. So, what's in the Pro Tour? More of the same, except you start at #150 and have to climb from there. Again, the competition is sad and boring. Thus, playing through Career Mode is completely boring. What's worse (or good) is that you do not play 5 set matches. In fact, you don't even play 3 set matches. Instead, you play 3 "game" matches. Although this does speed you up through the ranks faster than if you had to play alllllll of thooooooose matches while trying to win best-of-three set matches. All in all, just a really dull game. Now, if you're just trying to have some good old fashioned fun, then have at it. There are a variety of "side games" to play as well as simply entering the Tournament Mode and using one of the unlocked Pros. If you want realism in your tennis, then choose Top Spin 3 (However, be prepared for absolute realism. The game is technically difficult as all 2k games are.)

Virtua Tennis 3 is so much better then this. Someone stepped in and tried to make the game too real. In all actually they stripped the excitement out of the game. Where are the hard slams? The epic dives? I play the multiplayer with my co-workers religiously and this game is by far the biggest let down we've had all year. Avoid this game and stick with the previous version.

Best Deals for Virtua Tennis 2009 - Xbox 360

This year's version plays better and more fun than Virtua Tennis 3. The new developer seems to have responded to some of the criticisms of the previous game and fixed some issues but I'd still consider Top Spin 3 a benchmark for the tennis games so far. VT 2009 is a bit more realistic overall than VT3 with those silly dives taken out and the positioning of the players relative to the ball greatly effect the quality of the shots like in real tennis. The general crowd atmosphere is a nice touch with the tension building up in the audience during long rallies. The individual player animations are a lot better than the prev edition but still not totally accurate(the forehand topspin swing of nadal for example). There are other significant shortcomings regardless of the improvements to the game. First of all for simplicity's sake I guess, there are only only two types of main shots offered, slice and topspin. What happened to the flat shots that almost all of the tennis players use today? This is like trying to simulate a racing game but all the cars have a 4 cyclinder engine. Having those three basic shots modeled accurately in the game would increase the depth and variety greatly. Right now the game feels like you only hit the ball and run like crazy and that gets boring after a while. And there is no real life like passing or drop shots whatsoever! You can't really spice up your game like in a real tennis match. I understand the developer's instincts in trying to keep everything to a bare minimum in a game to appeal to everybody but that is still not an excuse to serve a half baked tennis game. The overall presentation of the game is so so with a forgettable music and sound effects. The graphics are good but not great and a lot of the top ten players are still missing in the roster. The online play is fun but a bit laggy especially in doubles. This is basically still the same virtua tennis game from the dreamcast days with only a fresh coat of paint on it. We've been there, done that. We want something more!! Hopefully with the next year's edition, and the remaining issues adressed, we'll finally get a complete virtua tennis game. Keep your fingers crossed!

Not as good as the older one that was on dreamcast but still great for the price and for playing 2 on 2..

This game is A+. By far, the best boxing game out and I've played them all. Don't be scared by the total punch control. It takes all but an hour or two to get a feel for it and it is so much more rewarding than button mashing your buttons so that you need a new controller every month.

Career mode is indepth. You start out with 4 fights a year, then down to 3 and so on until retirement. You have your choice of opponents and in some cases you will be presented the opportunity to schedule a fight against someone that is much higher ranked or lower ranked than you. Purses are realistic and increase as your ranking improves. The level of realistic difficulty is back and so is strategy. No more automatic first round KO's by going in and just punching non stop. If you try to do that here, you'll find yourself out of steam quick and needing to recharge and block punches to regain it. This game is not easily mastered overnight like Knockout Kings, or HBO boxing.

Use your money earned to buy different clothing, equipment, entrance gimmicks liky pyrotechnics, entourage (women in skimpy clothing that lead you into the ring). There is so much to this game. Before each fight, you will schedule a bout first. Next, you train. There are 4 different rotating training sessions.

1. Heavy Bag

2. Sparring

3. Combo Dummy

4. Hitting the Mitts

You will only be allowed to do one per fight and depending on your success...you will be given attribution points to improve your fighter. Note: Each session allows you to improve on 2 attribution categories. There are 8 total...IE. Power, speed, stamina, body, chin, heart, agility, cuts:

After training, you will go fight your fight. You can spend money on new attire, equipment etc in between fights. You can view your rankings, in depth rankings of other fighters. There are tons of unlockables that you will unlock as you win bigger fights opening up new sig punches, attires, entrance music, et in the fight store.

After each year, awards are given out and you will see a list of fighters that retired, which will be replaced obviously by fresh ones.

In between rounds, various stats will be shown, and they are different from round to round. Three judges score on the 10 point must system.

Last comment: Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but take my word for it, the soundtrack is not that annoying nor is the announcer. It gets old after awhile, but you would have to be nuts to not buy a great boxing game because you don't like hip hop. Trust me, neither do I! If you play any video game long enough the music gets old. Sorry If I jumped around a bit, but I wanted to give you as much detail as I could. If you are a die hard boxing fan, this is a must.

I just put five dollars down to reserve the game and received a free demo disk. I have played the demo disk a total of 40 minutes and here are my observations.

First I cannot totally judge the game because the demo has inverted controls (move your stick to the right and the boxer moves left)and a close-up angle, plus it only allows a two round fight with double time. I am always perplexed as to why they screw you on a demo since ultimatley it will be the thing which may cause you to buy the game. I wish the options to change view as well as undo the invert were activated. I can see someone playing this demo for 5 minutes and giving up before truly understanding the game..just ridiculous.

That said, the mechanics of the new engine were my real area of interest. As someone who first got into videogames simply due to hoping for a great boxing game (I fell in love with 4D Boxing for the PC back in the early 90s, which is the best boxing game ever created), this game represented a hope for me after the horrid Knockout Kings 2002 in which EA produced a generic button masher with a career mode that resembles something you would find in Tecken.(I should add that Knockout Kings 2001 on PS2 is actually an awesome game that any boxing fan should purchase.)

Well, my first 10 or so rounds were spent trying to figure out the use of the total punch control. This uses one of the analog sticks as the means to throw all the punches (you can also use the buttons if you are traditional). Pushing the stick to the upper left throws a left jab. Pushing to the upper right throws a straight right. Throwing hooks, uppercuts and body blows are more complicated (the demo had no instructions)but as I played I found them to suddenly become more intuitive. The demo allows you to be either Roy Jones or James Toney with the other boxer being your opponent. I am not sure of the difficulty level, but I have not actually gotten the better of my opponent yet. But, as I have played I have begun doing better and that really gives you a sense of learning the game.

So what do I think of the new system? Well, the punching is so precise that you can bring back the ctick to throw a hook, hold the punch until your opponent throws a shot, and then time your counter. My timing still needs work, but it is very evident that this new engine will soon become so intuitive that you will truly feel like you have total control. This is the first boxing game in which counter punchers can win a fight. I am very interested in playing as Winky Wright as I feel this type of control is perfect for him.

I have to admit to being skeptical on the new total control system, thinking that not using any buttons would be awkward and less fluid. I was totally wrong. In fact, in one fight I went back to using the buttons (each is assigned a punch like in previous games)and felt much more awkward. It was simply amazing how fast the new control won me over.

So I am very happy to report (after the disastrous KO Kings 2002) EA is back in the boxing business. Rather that simply giving us a generic boxing game they have created a product which truly make beomce a landmark in boxing video games. I have to stress I have not played the final product, and do not know how good the career mode is, but based on my initial tests I would reccomend this game to anyone interested in a game in which you actually have to think and not button mash. Very impressive!

You know...there IS something cathartic about beating the stew out of someone. One of the great things about this game is there's no threat of a civil suit!

EA Sports continues to dominate the sports sim genre with this entry. I'll confess I'm an "old" gamer (started with Pong and grew up on Defender & Asteroids--though Dig Dug was my masterpiece), but I really enjoyed the entirely new concept of joystick-only controls. I find it far more intuitive and is better than being out-mashed (as in "button mashing") by my son who's memorized the triangle/circle/triangle...etc. secret code.

My son & I get a great laugh out of beating one another without actually resorting to physical blows. We can talk thru an issue, taunt one another, knock each other out, and get up with nary a scratch or bruise. Some of you out there may not consider the Sweet Science to be father-and-son fodder...so don't buy it.

Highly recommended. While I agree with some other reviewers regarding the paucity of Big Name boxers, EA probably saved us each $5 by not having to pay hefty endorsement fees. If you don't like that Hector is missing, you can always make him yourself with 100's across the board.

Definitely a knockout!

Fight Night can be alot of fun, but it's certainly not the best boxing sim I have ever seen.

I actually still prefer KO Kings 2001, to this game. KO King 2001 had clinching, 4 types of cheat punches, realistic cuts, realistic fighter entrance music, realistic commentary(From Teddy Atlas and Max Kellerman), and realistic and fun special punches...

Fight Night just isn't a realistic boxing sim. Cuts open way too easy, there is no clinching, the commentary from Big Tiger is horrible. Whoever decided to hire Big Tigger instead of real boxing commentators should be beaten with a crowbar.

This game is overrated, but for good reason. EA's last 2 boxing games were horrible. Fight Night is certainly a step back in the right direction.

I sold my copy of Fight Night. It just gets boring after a while. I am going to wait for FN 2005. If EA doesn't have Big Tigger, I will probably purchase the game....

Panzer Elite is the game I have been searching for years. I have been playing tank games on paper and on computers for years. I admit to having had some flight simulator envy with their great first person perspective. Now I need not envy anymore. I can hop into my trusty Sherman (or Tiger) and let the lead fly. This game is very immersive. It gets all the essentials of tank combat right. The terrain is modeled in great detail with trees, hills, nooks and crannies great for hiding behind. Tanks are modeled in appearance (insides too), but also in how they respond to damage. Damage to can range from a catastrophic 'brewing up' to a damaged radio. The player can command an American or German platoon in combat from Tunisia to France, by way of Sicily and Italy. The learning curve is steep, but is mostly developing situational awareness and learning to deal in real time with hairy situations. The game ran great for me out of the box. There is great support on the web for any that encounter problems. There is an active user's community growing for Internet play and user enhancement. Panzer Elite has become the new standard that all tank sims will be judged by.

I bought this game with the premise that Wings Simulations web site was correct, a minimum requirement was P166 with a 3D board; on the box, the minimum is a PII and a board. On my system [pentium pro 200 with Voodoo], it runs, but slowly. After tweaking the setup, it is acceptable, but lacking since the graphics move slowly and jerky. The game itself is well done, and the play-time is fun and seems to be pretty realistic. It is a 3 star overall, 4 to 5 with a power system.

Panzer Elite is one of the best sims I have ever played. I have been computing for the last 15 years with a background in studying military history, specifically armor combat of WW2 for the past 20 years. Panzer Elite models all the details of armor combat and it truly gives you the flavor of WW2 tanking.

I had zero problems installing and running the SIM, most users who experience problems do so because they do not have updated drivers necessary for running Panzer Elite proper. I have followed Wings Simulations tech support board for sometime now and to see how they support their clients. Wings has developed patches for those experiencing problems that need addressing a common practice for software publishers patches are part of life for software users. The developer of Panzer Elite has done so with blinding speed and support second to none. In short they are the best company I have ever dealt with. The graphics are gorgeous and immerse you in combat. Enemy AI is top notch and a challenge. Multiplayer support, 80 missions. Varied campaigns make this a must have for anyone who enjoys sims and armor. They are also expanding the product and will enhance Panzer Elite further with addons. Varied realism options help beginners as well as hardcore sim options for those wanting utmost realism.

To sum it up if you want a quake or doom experience of shoot the bad guys, Panzer Elite is not for you. If you want a quality product, the most realistic tank sim on the market, a company who cares about putting out excellent product then Panzer Elite is for you! Buy it, learn it, live it!

Honest reviews on Panzer Elite - PC

The best WWII tank battle simulation ever produced. It includes very accurately reproduced Battlefields with a stunning texture, Panzers and Tanks that actually look and feel like the real thing, devious infantry who actually pops up whenever you less expect it to destroy your tank.

Finally, tanks can destroy trees and buildings and make their way through valleys, hills and rivers. You may even get stuck in mud if you're not too careful, especially in Russia. When it rains, it really pours and your tank will have a harder time to travel across prairies drenched with water.

Gun muzzle blasts are as real as you can get them. You have original crew voices (all in the Nations' respective languages) telling you what they are doing and orders from the High Command you better follow , unless you want to end a loser. Strategies and tactics are up to you and it is also your task to command and protect you platoon from enemy fire.

It is not "as if" you were in WWII, but rather as if you "are" in WWII.

Every mission is based on accurately researched historical events, with historical settings, vehicles and soldiers. Even the camouflage patterns on your tanks change during the course of war and according to the terrain in which you do battle.

You can drive almost any tank imaginable in that period: from a Valentine to a Firefly, from PzKpfw II to a King's Tiger and from StuG III to a Hunting Tiger! Each tank comes with its own realistic set of fuel, armament and equipment and you better make sure you fuel it up before a mission, otherwise you're stuck like a lame duck.

The only downside to this game is that you won't have any aerial cover nor having Allied aircraft attacking you. This is though, compensated by an ever-present heavy Artillery attack which can happen at any moment and wherever you may be...

The interiors of the tanks are as accurate and minutely researched as their exteriors (most of the documentation comes from Tank Museums). You are able to sit in the tank as well as seeing it from an exterior view which you can swing like a camera filming it (at every angle, except from below, but who would like to see his own tank from underneath it?).

The weight of the vehicles you drive is also there. The feeling of driving an M-8 might be exhilarating, especially due to its speed, but when you face a Tiger you better duck, or it will blast you off in thousand pieces. If you command a Tiger instead, you will be much slower, but you wouldn't have to worry too much about a Lee or a Sherman. You just stop the heavy beast, aim, fire and move forward. One shot with an 88mm caliber gun will send a Sherman's turret fly as if it were made of Aluminum.

The main attractivity of this game though, is that it keeps expanding. More and more scenarios can be added almost monthly.

From Africa to Italy and from the vast steppes of Russia to the shores of Normandy and beyond, you will have to survive through the entire conflict.

Moreover, its system of MODs, or additional functionality modules, allow it to have it a different feel with every single one enabled. You want to fight in Normandy in Winter, instead of in the Summer? Fine, you just enable the Night and Winter MOD and you have it. You want to drive more vehicles in the African Desert than those that came with the game? Enable the Full-Monty MOD and you will have that too.

The description could go on forever. Suffice it to say that this is a unique simulation that cannot compare to any other similar one ever produced. The people who have worked and still work at it are passionate artists, programmers and above all, historians. They know perfectly what they are doing and do it extremely well.

A warning though! Since this game is meant to be played directly from your Hard Drive, because you have to completely install it there, including all the additions and scenarios (just to make the game smoother) it is only recommended to those of you who have large HDs and a very performing Graphic Card with lots of memory included.

To conclude, until someone will come up with a photo-realistic game, based on WWII, that actually shows the true villages, towns and cities as well as the actually filmed vehicles, this will remain the jewel in the crown of any other similar simulation.

I would nominate it the best WWII simulation of all times and also of times to come...

Up to you now, to make up your minds, but if you don't buy it, you will never know what you have missed.

This is the quintissential WWII tank simulation; the vehicles are painstakingly crafted in exquisite detail, terrain is detailed and complex both closeup and at a distance, the artificial intelligence is well-developed, crafty and tactically skilled, and the player is confronted with much the same challenges that faced a WWII tank platoon leader. Perhaps best of all, the scenarios and campaign game are logical, believable, and challenging. The simulation also includes artillery, infantry, weather, logistics. With such attention to detail in the design, one can easily becomes totally immersed in the simulation experience. With up-to-date sound and video drivers Panzer Elite has run flawlessly with no crashes from day one. Finally, support is superb -twice I have emailed questions to customer support... both questions were answered within two hours -by the leader of the game design team himself! Anyone interested in learning about and experiencing what armor combat was like in the Second World War would do well to acquire Panzer Elite.

Review of Rampage World Tour

Rampage World Tour

Having a bad day? Do you feel like destroying the world? Now you can without creating your criminal record. Just plug "Rampage World Tour" into your Nintendo 64, choose from one of three characters: George (an ape), Lizzie (a prehistoric lizard), or Ralph (a werewolf); and have at it. You start in Peoria, Illinois and go on a world tour of destruction. If you die (turn back to a human), simply push the Start button. You actually have unlimited lives that way.

After a few "days", you will start encountering a robot that shoots bullets, and that will spit fire at you if you get up close in front of it. Don't bother getting in a slug fest with this thing. It's a distraction to keep you from completely destroying whatever city you're in. There's a bigger one as well, and while I recommend getting rid of this one, always make sure you attack it from behind (You're not going to win a boxing match with this thing.) Watch for clues and other information the game gives you before you start each "day" such as "powerball tv shows". There are three mega foods (One for each of the characters.) For George, it's a bunch of bananas, Lizzie prefers sushi, and Ralph eats steak. You'll know what I'm talking about when you play the game.

This is an awesome game. I highly recommend it.

As much as I want to be able to like this game, I just can't. The original idea is still a good one (control one of three gorillas and level one city after another), but I think it's finally been exhausted. When I frist started playing this game (with a friend), I was having fun. But as the levels progressed the experiance soon became mind-numbing. I know that the game is just supposed to be a fun excursion but it could at least demonstrate some kind of variety within the levels. Each time you play a level the whole experiance becomes more boring. I began to dread having 80 or so cities left to destroy. Also, the multiplayer could have been improved. The only difference between it and single player is that you now have two or three people destroying building, and they have the ability to punch each other. I really expect better of Midway, which is usually a company that puts out good games, and I still can't believe that they made a sequel to this without any significant changes. Almost nothing has changed even from the original Rampage of the 80's. It's time that Midway either puts the series to bed or makes it more interesting. To wrap things up, this is a game that starts out as a very entertaining cartrige but quickly takes a turn for the worse. Rent this game...don't buy it, since you'll be tired of it before the game is due back.

I was a big fan of the adventure games so popular on PCs in the 90's but somehow completely missed the Broken Sword franchise. When I learned of this game I was excited to return to this all but extinct game style but unsure of how it would work on the Wii. My concern was unfounded. This is a wonderful, highly entertaining game; perfectly suited to the Wii's unique controller.

For anyone not familiar with the genera it's definitely not standard console game fair. Game play is based on methodical exploration, puzzle solving and a fair deal of reading/listening to non-player characters for hints and clues. The best way to explain it is to say it's exactly like a good mystery novel that gives you control over the protagonist.

The graphics are wonderful; beautifully rendered, slightly fanciful, visions of Paris, highly reminiscent of Don Bluth's style of animation. In this day and age of hyper-realism it's very refreshing to play a game that takes it's own direction graphically. The Wii's sometimes mocked hardware limitations seems to be encouraging this kind of innovation and I, for one, appreciate it greately.

The Wii is considered a bastion for casual gamers, and this title proves the concept. You don't need lightning quick reflexes, or years of twitch-response training to hop in and play. Surprisingly, this makes a great family/party game. At a gathering of friends, four of us in our late 20's-early 30's -and only one Wii remote we had a great time working collaboratively to solve the puzzles and explore the various locals. Rather than take advantage of the built in multi-player option, we found one Wii remote got passed around quite a bit.

If I could say anything negative about this game it is the one constant strike against any game of this type. While I haven't played it though to the end yet, I imagine, given the highly linear story-driven narrative, there will be almost no replay value. Or, rather, it will have the same replay value as any good mystery novel has re-read value.

Despite that, I think it's well worth the purchase price, if only to send a clear message that more games of this quality greatly desired.

I was surprised how much fun I had playing this I kept losing track of time. This is all puzzles, no fighting just thinking. Some of the puzzles are sort of order of operations asking the right people the right questions in the right order. There were some word puzzles, some picture puzzles, some number and one chess! One of the best benefits of the game was that my husband and I could solve the puzzles together.

The Wii controller was a bit klutzy (for me) with some of the lining-things-up puzzles and it was really tough on rotating things but the game lets you try again until your hands and eyes are coordinated. I also liked that you could save at almost any point in the story in case someone else wants to use the Wii for a while.

The ending was a bit of a let down. The quality of the images degraded and the scripting felt rushed. Still, I am glad I played it and we definitely got our money's worth of fun.

Best Deals for Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Nintendo Wii

I've just finished playing Broken Sword and loved the game. I never played it on a PC so this Wii version was my first introduction to the game (which I guess is a classic). I enjoy games with little or no fighting and lots of exploring and puzzles so this was perfect for my tastes. The story was interesting and kept me looking forward to seeing what came next.

The hint system was good and I used it in the beginning a bit and then when I got really stuck (in hindsight, I wish I had used it less in the beginning of the game). One of the cons of the game for me was that sometimes you had to do something non-intuitive to figure out a puzzle (like talk to a specific person a 6th time after looking at a specific object, etc.) But once I got the hang of that and with the help of an occasional hint, it was fine. The Wii controls are great for exploring although on some of the puzzles that involved precisely moving things they took some getting used to.

I only recently purchased a Wii and this was one of my first games. I enjoyed it so much that it has sent me on a quest to find similar titles that include this type game-play. Which leads me to my other con...I felt the game went by too quickly. I spent a lot of time looking around and felt I was taking my time with it but it was over before I knew it and there is little replay value as the puzzles are all figured out. I would have liked a longer game for the money. As the title of my review states, I am anxious for a sequel and hope that it includes more areas to explore and maybe some non-linear story lines to increase the replay value.

In sum, I gave it 5 stars as I couldn't wait to play it every time I had some free time, enjoyed the story and puzzles, and was sad when I finished it. If you like a lot of action, this game isn't for you. But if you like point-and-click type adventures and puzzles, I think you will really enjoy Broken Sword.

Honest reviews on Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - Nintendo Wii

I was looking for some inexpensive Wii games and found this one on Amazon. I had never heard of the original game, but after reading the description and the reviews, I was excited to find a new (to me) game of the same style and era as Monkey Island and Loom (two of my all-time favorite games).

Story: 4/5. It is a modern-day murder conspiracy that involves the Knights Templar and the Assassins. It requires finding clues and deciphering puzzles that are several centuries old. I guess that description along with the title make it sound like "The Da Vinci Code meets Assassin's Creed," but no. Thank goodness it is very different.

Characters: 3/5. One thing that I think is essential to a good video game is that the protagonist(s) is/are likable. My main gripe about the characters is that around 3 hours into the game, one of the main characters, George Stobbart, was really getting on my nerves. VG characters can be cheesy and still be likable, but the voice acting was over-done and I think the game would have been more enjoyable without it.

Graphics: 3/5. The graphics were...interesting. Knowing that the game is mostly a port from the original version, I wasn't buying the game for the graphics. What made them a little weird was that you could tell that certain things were touched up or added to this version and other things were not. I don't think the graphics make or break the game, but the inconsistency was a little distracting.

Gameplay: 2/5. I like this style of game. It's nice every now and then to play a game that is more about problem solving and telling a story than boss battles and repetitious action. Unlike most games like this that I have played, it has a hint system, so if you are stuck, you can get some help. There are usually 3 or 4 hints per puzzle/objective, increasing from subtle to blatantly explaining what you have to do. Along with time spent playing, it keeps track of the number of hints that you have read. While cursor precision may not have been a problem when using a mouse for the original version, keeping aim and combing the screen for targets with a Wiimote is a little more difficult. What was aggravating was that I had the right idea on several occasions but after they didn't work, I reluctantly looked at a hint that only reaffirmed that I was correct. If I knew these things up front, I probably wouldn't be complaining about them:

In many cases, you have to use an item that you possess on another object on the screen. For me, this often took more than one try. Sometimes, the area that you act on is so small that pressing the button on the controller may move the cursor enough to miss your target. That means bringing up your item screen again, picking the item, and trying to click on your target again. I actually had to move closer to the screen than normal to avoid that from happening.

One item may have multiple target areas that are indistinguishable from one another. The screen may have something like a statue. You can hover your cursor over the entire statue and it looks like one continuous target. However, inspecting/acting on one part of the statue may have different results than another part.

The object may be a target but the target area is only a small portion of the object. For example, if there is a pile of coal, the target for that pile of coal may only cover 25% of it.

There are a few puzzles in the game that are analogous to cracking combination locks and require you to press and hold a button on the controller as you twist it clockwise or counterclockwise. The game will hint to you when to stop turning by making a certain sound and making the controller vibrate. So the idea is to turn slowly. Well, the control has the "ice dispenser" effect. You twist it slightly and it either doesn't move or it starts to move and stops. You twist it a little bit further and the object on the screen spins way too much. If you turn too far, that means starting all over again.

Value: 4/5. This game took me about 10 hours to finish. For what I paid (under $10), I consider it a good value.

The day I got this game I played it for 10hrs straight! I am a big fan of the old PC RP point and click games from the 90's...which I grew up on and this game happily brought back those memories!

This game's story is addictive and the puzzles interesting and fun. If you are looking for kill 'em action this is not the game for you...it is strictly a game of logic and deductive reasoning! You can't even get killed if you tried! ;0) You can only get stuck and even if you do they have helpful hints to get you unstuck if you chose to use them.

Hurray for UBIsoft for putting out this game and I hope there is a sequel...and many other games to come in this genre of Point & Click/Logic Role Playing!

I can't remember when I enjoyed playing a game so much....and my only regret is that I finished it so quickly because it was so addicitive!!

Keep em coming UBIsoft! I can't wait to see what you do next!

If you have always had an inner "detective" hidden in you...you will be hooked on this game!

After 8 days of waiting. The tiny cute box finally arrived in my mail box. I was too excited to try it out since I was eager to have a device like this for my traveling. I travel a lot for my own business and I need to use my laptop and Vonage at the same time at the hotel room. This device,if it works, will get great companion to me. However, more excitement, more disappointment.

I have been spending hours trying to make the router work but it just did not work at all. Though I need this route to have static IP, it is supposedly work like DHCP. I spend 2 hours trying to make it work but could not make it work.

Then, I think it will be still cool if it works as access point. I switch it to AP mode and glade to know it is able to pint the DLink router IP. I try to access some web site and I found it is very slow for some reason. Then I try to ping some web site IP address and I found at least 50% of the package drops. That explains why AP make the web browsing so slow since packages get lost.

I keep trying to contact the phone number on the menu to get support, but it keeps saying the phone number is busy. I don't even know if the phone is still on service or not though it is regular business at their location.

I finally give it up and next I will request an RMA number to return.

I have always use Linksys before I run across this by accident, and for $32 this is a great little gem for all of your travel wireless needs. This device can function as a router, an access point, a wireless bridge back to wire connection, or as a signal repeater. It is about 2/3 the size of the iPod classic, and the AC adapter supports both 110/240 and it is about 1 x 1.5 inches. I found that the AP mode (physical switch on the side) is very helpful to get around some of the network issue, especially if your connection normally does not allow multiple wireless access. Once slight problem is that you cannot access your router settings when it is in AP mode, but this is an minor issue as you can always switch back to router mode for configurations.

My bottom line is that the Planex MZK-MF150 is excellent for travel and / or deployment. Here is the link to its online manual:

I bought this as an alternative to the expensive Microsft wifi adapter for the Xbox 360. I purchased it in February and have been using it ever since with no problems what so ever. The initial set up was little confusing but I was able to figure it out and has been working excellent since. For anyone looking for an alternative wifi adapter for you Xbox 360, PSP and others this is the way to go. I like the fact that this is Draft n with 150Mbps can be used an access point or router as well. This size is so small and compact that it is perfect for anyone who is traveling. I do a little bit of traveling and am considering purchasing another one. I was considering giving it 4 stars because of the interface and set up but have to give it a 5 because it works so well.

Honest reviews on PLANEX Wireless N WiFi Micro Mini Router, Access Point, Wireless

I bought one of these a while ago specifically because the Microsoft wifi adapter for my Xbox was ridiculously expensive. It took me multiple tries to get the unit working correctly because of unclear documentation and a clunky interface. HOWEVER, once working, it has been great.

I've had it running on the Xbox for almost a year now, and it has not had a single problem. I haven't had to reboot it or change any settings. If it weren't for the fact that it's white and my Xbox is black, I probably would have forgotten it's even there.

We are using the Xbox for movies and gaming every day, so this little unit is getting regular hard use, but it never misses a beat and data transfer is seamless.

I actually came back to this page to buy a second one to use for traveling and work. I'll admit that I'm dreading the setup (because it's been so long since I even looked at the configuration) but I know that once I get it up and running it will do everything I need.

Well, its ok for the money. The directions that come with it are worthless and dont explain anything. The box shows it being used with an Xbox but the directions make no mention of it. Also the add on Amazon says it is wireless N compatable but the box and directions only mention B and G. Also software doesnt work with windows 7 very well. Got it working but only after using WPS. Probably would not recommend.

I always preferred the Guitar Hero guitar to the Rock Band guitar (play-wise anyway) but the quality of the Guitar Hero guitars is weak. GH3 guitar had problems with the connection between the neck and the body. That has been fixed with GHWT, but the new one lacks in new areas. Mostly the strum bar. Occasionally mine registers extra hits (RedOctane's fix is to "hold" the strum bar and not "strum or flick"). Also, it will occasionally not register strums at all (My solution to that problem is to smack the body of the guitar with my palm, which I shouldn't have to do at all). And, probably the most irritating thing, my strum bar feels like it's rubbing against something on the up-strum, which throws my flow off just enough to miss notes.

I've done some research and I'm not the only one having these problems. GHWT would be an awesome game if the guitar wasn't crap. I highly recommend GHWT if you have a guitar the works properly.

Hopefully they can get it right, because the guitar feels good in my hands, except for these couple problems.

Beware, the online reports of the instruments working fine, and then getting worse to the point that they don't work at all eventually are true. My guitar was perfect, then the second week it stopped working entirely.

Activision's repair policy is terrible also. They won't even shell out a few bucks to ship their defective merchandise back to them.

Go with Rock Band 2: not only is the game better, but if you have a problem with the equipment EA is gracious and will replace it in a much more respectable fashion.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit

This review is for the Guitar/Game combo of Guitar Hero World Tour. Without getting into all the fanboy arguments about which came first, who owns who, and which game is ripping off the other; Guitar Hero World Tour is just not as good as Rock Band. Graphically it's better in that the characters are brighter, clearer, etc...though they still remain oddly cartoony. It's almost creepy when you see Jimi Hendrix because he looks so real yet animated at the same time. It's weird. As far as gameplay goes (and this is again only for the guitar aspect of it) it's definitely easier than Rock Band 2. More on par with Rock Band 1. I walked through it on expert without failing any songs up until the last set. To me that's not a bad thing since songs that are annoyingly difficult are absolutely no fun to play. The new guitar is pretty cool too. The touch pad way down on the neck makes solos INFINITELY easier to play when applicable. And I have never had any trouble with my guitar being faulty (ie failing out of a song before it starts like some people claim). The biggest knock against this game is the song selection. First of all, a bunch of the songs are straight from Rock Band 2. And I'm not saying it's a game of copying, it's just that Rock Band got to the market first and it just looks bad when you have the exact same songs. The song selection overall is not as fun as Rock Band 2 either. But that's just personal preference. I gave the game 4 stars because it's really not a bad game at all, I just think that the song selection, note charts, and presentation of Rock Band 2 is better. But if you've played Guitar Hero and really liked it, there's no reason not to pick this one up. I just haven't played it since I beat it...and I'm still playing Rock Band 2 almost nightly.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Kit

If you already have a guitar controller, but want a new one, don't bother getting this package. Just get the game by itself and go find a better controller. The switches that control the strummer in this guitar are crap. Mine died within two weeks. They are not hard to replace though if you are handy with a soldering iron.

If you are looking for a starter bundle for Guitar Hero, start with the GH III wired controller bundle. That controller can take a beating.

Overall it's a fun game, but not my favorite. GH III & V are better IMO. Worth picking up if you don't have it yet, but if you're just starting off, grab a different one first.

Got the guitar bundle from Amazon a few weeks back, and the guitar had a broken strum bar right out of the box. It dropped some notes at first, and got even worse after a few hours.

I tried to get an RMA for the guitar, but after over a week of dealing with Red Octane's terrible replacement request website and Activition's automated phone system, I ended up with over half a dozen automated e-mail responses and was still no closer to getting a working guitar.

I have since returned the bundle to Amazon and haven't looked back.

In contrast, when I bought a Rock Band 1 bundle last year, the guitar was also broken out of the box. After 15 minutes on their web site, I got a replacement guitar shipped to me that arrived in less than a week, and still works to this day.

If you are choosing one or the other, I would definitely go with Rock Band. Both their customer service and the games themselves are of a much higher quality than these newer Guitar Hero releases.

All parts of product were included, shipping was on time, and product appears to have worked (my Xbox no longer shows the Red Rings of Death and it functions properly, but this is only one day after I made the repairs so I don't know how long the repairs are good for).

The repair process was a bit tedious but was doable in a few hours even for an amateur like myself. The only thing I couldn't find in the instructional videos was a part for the reassembly of the xbox, but most of it is pretty self-explanatory and if you really need help you can watch the beginning disassembly part again and do the reverse.

All in all, this repair kit is well worth the $10+shipping as it would have cost me $100+shipping to get the repairs done at Microsoft as my warranty had expired. Also, whereas this entire process (from the day I got RRoD until the day my xbox was fixed) took 3 days (I used 1 day shipping for a little extra money), it would have likely taken 1-2 months if I had gotten the repairs done at Microsoft.

Thank you 3RedLightFix.

Nothing to open the metal case inside. I'm gonna look for a tool for that. Snapped the screw driver included in this pack.

Worked for me first time although I'm not sure how long it will last. The instructions were not always as fully diagramed as they could be, but combined with youtube videos the whole process took about 3 hours for me. This was the first time I had dealt with heatsinks and CPU/GPUs and though it was tricky, ultimately it wasn't too hard.

The only thing that the kit didn't include was enough cue tips (cotton buds for Brits); the processors were covered in quite a bit of gunk and so it required around 10 cue tips, and also this kit doesn't come with a case opener, which I used a paper clip for.

For 8 odd bucks and a few hours work I can now play Halo 4.

My wide loves the DDR games but, I am not going to buy a playstation just for the DDR games. After I installed the game on my computer I just had to set the dance pad and we were dancing within 10 mins. Hook you computer to a TV and it plays just like the DDR games.

I waited 6 long days to get this, but the package contained only the pad. I sent an email to the seller TWICE but no reply for 4 days. And DO NOT BUY THIS PAD if you play pc ddr games only. It's so expensive only because it's compatible with PS2, XBOX, and PC. And it's actually as slippery as the cheap $9.99 pad. I still didn't get the game, so I downloaded the demo, and it was awesome! I recommend you buy the cheap $9.99 and the game In The Groove separately rather than buying this freaking expensive-for-nothing package.

We purchased this as a present for my daughter. The description says it works on the PS2 XBox and your PC. Well be VERY careful they don't provide the technology for that to actually happen. For more money you can get the software to actually make it work on your PS2.

Buyer beware of this group.

This item was requested as a birthday present, and the recipient seemed quite pleased. It seemed a little chintzy to me, but I am not 16.

I previously have purchased game paraphernalia such as the witcher keychain, which i use as a necklace, and got a solid steel witchers medallion.

Im not even sure this was metal. It was hollow and felt flimsy. But i did only pay 30 for it.

It looks cool enough and has a sturdy chain, but it is not as solid as i expected
