My xbox 360 was completely shot with the red ring of death... I order this kit and followed the instructions and repaired the xbox in about 2 hours. It's worked perfectly ever since and it's been over 3 months at least. Highly recommended !

This product worked EXACTLY as described following the on-line videos for the 3 Red Light Fix. In fact my 13 year old son completed the entire repair (dismantleing and reassembling)himself except for some MINOR help with XCLAMP removeval and loosening. 4 screws.

Don't waste your money or your time on this kit...it is basically a set of bolts and washers which you can get anywhere. The 'tool' that comes with it to open the XBOX you don't need, and there is even no thermal paste in the kit. Moreover, there are no nuts to go alone with the bolts.

Seriously save your money.

My Grandson was so happy to get this for Xmas. He put in all his skylanders & now he won't misplace any of his pieces. In fact his friends all wanted to get one too.

There aren't many Skylanders cases that will hold more than 30. My son has 42 and they all fit in this case, which is wonderful as now I don't have them sitting on the floor. Highly recommend for the Skylanders lover!

It's ok at best. The compartments aren't really good for much and it's more a big open pit to throw your skylanders into. The giants don't fit very well either. You're paying for the logo on the front. Period. I'm done with all of these cases and off to make my own. I'm sure there is something at Michaels that is a fraction of the price and will protect the figures much better.

NCAA Football 2006 Reviews

NCAA Football 2006

There's no disputing that EA owns the lion's share of the sports videogame market, especially with their recent acquisition of exclusive licenses for both pro and college football. Many (understandably) feared that this lack of competition would lead to lackluster games, i.e. each year's release being reduced to not much more than a full-price roster update. The team that developed NCAA 06 apparent set out to soothe gamers' fears and ended up rewarding us all with a top-notch college football game full of both subtle improvements and big-time innovations.

GAME MODES

When you put in the game you're immediately rewarded with a number of gameplay modes, some familiar (dynasty, single game) and some new (Race for the Heisman). The Race for the Heisman mode allows you to create a player and then guide him through tryouts for a scholarship, choosing a school, and then playing a career aimed at racking up the massive stats required to take home the hardware. Along the way, the main menu is your dorm room where you can review your accomplishments in the school newspaper, head off to the practice field (small mini-game drills), and check how your season stats compare versus the compeition. It's a little bit self-involved since you're emphasizing your individual campaign over that of the team, and make no mistake, you will have to put up unreal numbers to beat even the candidates with lesser stats. At the end, the presentation of the Heisman award ceremony is a little bit uninspired given that it's your main aim in this mode. Once you've finished your college days with or without the Heisman, you can port your created player over to Madden 06 to continue your career in the pros.

The real gem here is the dynasty mode where you control a school's program year-round. During the season, you get a great mix of responsibilities: you're the Athletic Director looking to avoid NCAA sanctions by disciplining problem players, you're the coach sorting out the depth chart while also courting high school recruits, and of course you're the players strapping on the pads each Saturday. In-season recruiting is one of the best additions to this year's game it works basically like a poker game where you bet your finite time on how much attention each recruit needs and what kind of pitch will attract him to your school. If you leave it to one of your assistants to call him about the school's prestige, don't be surprise to watch him commit to your rival whose entire coaching staff showed up at his front door promising an immediate starting role. You also schedule recruit visits to your school, which can go a long way toward securing the signing if you beat up on your on-field opponent that week. There aren't any unsavory aspects of the NCAA represented here, i.e. you can't buy a recruit a car and so that he'll immediately sign. In fact, it's quite the opposite if your team is under any NCAA scrutiny for rule violations or disciplinary problems, you'll find it much harder to attract blue chippers, so don't slack on your AD responsibilities when your superstar decides to stop going to classes. As the season winds down, you'll get your committments and start playing for the bowl rankings and player trophies. Weekly updates are presented as stories in Sports Illustrated magazine, which is a nice visual approach compared to traditionally dry menus.

OK, so your dynasty school just ran over the competition in their bowl game. Mission accomplished, right? As Lee Corso would say (and does say quite a bit in the game) "Uh-uh. I don't think so, Sweetheart." You've got to look at who's graduating, who's going pro, who you might be able to talk into staying (furthering the integration with Madden, you can even export that entire NCAA class to become the draft class for Madden's franchise mode). After that period is over, you hit the recruiting trail. The off-season recruiting works much like the in-season session but with even more detail. For instance, over the course of the several years, you can set up specific states as pipelines where the many of the top candidates will already be interested in your school on day one. Still, it's up to you as coach to figure out the right buttons to press to get the commit. Recruiting continues week by week for five weeks; however, if you're not into this much detail, you can opt to automatically have the computer do its best for you. Afterward, you check on your players' off-season skills progression, set the depth charts, redshirt players and then you're ready to suit up for the next upcoming season. You can also change up the team's non-conference games in order to bolster your strength of schedule or generate a new rivalry.

If you build up your school's program over the course of several seasons, you may receive an invitation to join a better conference and play in front of better crowds, all of which will attract better recruits. Of course, your head coach may also opt to take a higher-profile job elsewhere, so success is a dual-edged sword.

The game also solves one of my biggest pet peaves with prior NCAA games you can finally just substitute made-up names for the players instead of going with QB#7 handing off to HB#23. I understand why legally you can't use these players' real names, but I never understood why you couldn't just go with any name instead of position and number. Of course we all know who that stellar Texas signalcaller or USC ultra-back is, so made-up names work just fine. If it really bothers you, you can take the time to edit them.

The main menu also features options to quickly set up one-time games, including all of the major rivalries, and even a goofy game played between mascots.

GAMEPLAY

In-game control is another highlight of NCAA 06 you can perform a lot of cool moves with relatively simple and sensible button/stick combinations. Chief among these is the use of the right analog stick to perform juke moves on offense and big hits on defense. Earlier EA games turned the right stick into a Superman button where your player would defy the laws of physics as a reward for you merely touching the stick. Thankfully, this has been reeled back to more realistic limits while still keeping the excitement factor. You even have the option to zoom in and slow-mo particularly well-executed moves. You can't help but get hyped up when you look to be caught in the backfield by the other guy's blitzing backer only to spin, stiff arm him to the turf and then hurdle over him on your way to six. The control configurations are just about identical to those of Madden, making it easy to switch between the two (Madden obviously doesn't have the option offense).

Before the snap, the right analog stick allows viewing of matchups. This new feature zooms out to field width and shows player skill level and composure for particular matchups, e.g. wideouts vs. defensive backfield, o-line vs. d-line, or QB/RB vs. linebackers. It's a nice feature that allows you to see if you've got any potential mismatches to exploit from play to play, giving you an idea of which receiver to key on or maybe even enough insight to audible a different play.

But is NCAA 06 more than just Madden dusting off its old varsity jacket? To quote the coach once again, "Ab-so-lutely". The makers of the game paid painstaking attention to detail here, making NCAA 06 truly a payoff for fans of the college game. The stadiums are intricately rendered I play my dynasty as a mid-major (Miami, OH) and even their field is accurate right down to the dorms in the distance being accurately drawn and properly placed. As best I can tell, all of the MAC fields are like this, so enjoyment of that home field experience isn't limited to just fans of the biggest programs at the biggest conferences. This year's game even includes division 1-AA and NAIA schools. Want more evidence of what a massive tribute to the college game this is? Here goes: Mascots? Check. Rivalry games? Check. All year-end trophies? Check. Fight songs? Well, NCAA 06 earns an incomplete for this one. Not all of the fight songs are there some just get generic march music and drumlines but I'm guessing that was more due to legal rights than effort by the developers. Fans of ESPN's College Gameday program will be happy to know that Lee Corso does his signature donning of the mascot's head during his pre-game pick.

GRAPHICS

Player models are about the best that this generation of console can deliver. Clarity and sharpness can suffer a bit when looking at a pile of players in the wide field view, but up-close, they look great. The real strength is in the massive stockpile of fluid, natural animations and the way that the game combines them. String together some impressive combinations of moves and you'll find yourself watching the replay over and over again (it's a shame that you can't save them).

The in-studio pre-game show is the biggest low-point, exposing EA's longtime problem with weird lighting of facial models. Everyone at the desk seems to be underlit, making them look sinister. Plus, their movements are surprisingly robotic. But in terms of importance, these problems are miniscule the developers placed their efforts on the on-the-field action where it belongs.

SOUND

In-game commentary is provided by the familiar voices of Brad Nessler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit. The game contains tons of commentary clips, but you will hear a lot of the same lines over and over again once you've played a few seasons. The game generally does a good job of mixing commentary up and also playing the right clips at the appropriate times. Nevertheless, if you're not a big fan of Corso and Herbstreit's Abbott-and-Costello routine, maybe you'd be better off turning off the commentary. One glaring problem here is that once you set a new school or NCAA record, they keep announcing it almost each time you keep pushing your numbers further for example, once you take your school's record for career rushing touchdowns, you'll hear something like "And with that carry, he's done it! He's just become the all-time touchdown king for his school!" just about every single time you ever score a touchdown from that point forward. It gets a little annoying to say the least. Crowd noise including chants and school bands is well-delivered.

SUMMARY

NCAA 06 stands on its own as a great football title it's not Madden dressed up in collegiate clothes, nor is it simply a rehash of last year's NCAA game. The developers delivered great gameplay, lots of long-term playability and superb attention to the aspects that make college football so revered. All combined, this is the way that videogames should function, especially in the sports genre intuitive controls mix with massive attention to detail to result in gameplay that's addictive fun.

PROS

* The variety of gameplay modes, highlighted by a very well-conceived dynasty mode, will keep this game fresh and interesting for a long time to come

* Massive attention to detail will satisfy any college football fan regardless of whichever school you follow the mascots, the stadiums, the rivalries, and (most of) the fights songs are all meticulously recreated here.

* In-game controls are very well-designed

* Game graphics/animations are generally smooth, extremely realistic and just plain fun to watch

* Integration with Madden exporting players/draft classes, similar controller schemes, etc.

CONS

* The Race for the Heisman mode could use more development

* Off-season drills quickly become repetitive as touted mini-games

* Studio graphics have lighting oddities that are typical for EA titles

I got started a bit late in college football gaming, but I have seen several iterations of this product, and NCAA 2006 is definitely a large improvement over previous versions.

I was disappointed in the small difference in gameplay between 2004 and 2005, and although the bells and whistles (e.g., home field advantage, and some dynasty mode improvements) that were added increased my enjoyment of the game somewhat, the only reason to pay the extra $49.95 was for the new rosters.

2006, however, contains some substantial improvements in gameplay. They fixed or improved upon previous flaws in gameplay including in pass coverage, getting off blocks, manouvering while running and fakes/play action. These are discussed in more detail in the next paragraphs.

In previous versions, you could have ten or more passes batted down in a game with five minute quarters, as defensive backs flew all over the field and leaped around with perfectly timed swats to knock balls off course. Additionally, after swatting at the ball, if a defensive back was near the receiver while the receiver was trying to catch the ball, he was instantaneously tackling the receiver without even having to adjust his position. Now, the game seems to have been improved, so that throwing the ball to the open receiver is easier, especially if you are trying to throw over the coverage, but still throw relatively quickly (before, to throw over the linebackers, you had to loft the ball so slowly that a safety would always be there waiting). Receivers still have trouble catching darts, and the ball will hit them in the head if they aren't looking for it. Additionally, if you throw into coverage, it is very difficult to complete a pass (to your own teammate), moreso than in previous versions. From what I have played, this seems like a huge improvement.

A previous issue with the EA NCAA line of games has been in blocking, in the sense that it was exceptionally difficult to run up the middle. Usually, when I called a run up the middle, I would look for a hole in the middle, and if one didn't form, I would just run to the outside. Because of this, I would end up running to the outside a large percentage of the time (over 1/2), especially if the defensive line pinched. Now, holes form much more clearly, and they form where you would expect; additionally, if you call a run to the inside, your momentum goes in the direction of the hole that the playcall has you going through, making it much more difficult to change directions to the outside. This makes the playcalling a lot more important, as an inside run call when the defensive line is pinching and the linebackers are in close will likely result in lost yardarge (and not huge yards on a run to the outside). On the defensive side, it's much easier to control your movement in getting off blocks, as you now use the right analog stick.

2006 also improves gameplay by adding a backward juke, and by making the right analog stick control the juking movement. This control substantially improves the fluidity of running (which itself is, I believe, much improved already) and takes my right thumb off of the sprint button (which I used to use far too much). The option becomes a lot more fun to run, and it's easier to regulate the magnitude of the jukes using the right analog stick rather than by modulating the length of time that the L1 and R1 buttons are pressed down.

Finally, the computer is much more likely to be faked out by play action (and by draws). This is especially true if you have established the run (or the pass) already. I play using UT (Texas), and I have been very happy with my ability to sell the run and then throw over the top to my tight end for huge yardage. In think there is more variability player-by-player in the speed at which the players realize that there was a play fake; also, Texas A&M embarrased me for a huge touchdown on a pass by the RB (to the QB) -these never worked in '05. (I ended up embarassing them in the end, though). If the defense is playing the run, you may be able to air it out for a long touchdown (as the safeties bite on the fake).

All of these aspects make the play calling a larger part of the game. You cannot win by continually calling pass plays, as you will have more more success mix together running, passing, play action and draws.

One final note is that position-specific audibles are much improved. You can now audible coverage changes (cover 2 man, 1-deep to 4-deep zones, bring safeties close to the line, etc.), you can crash left or right, rush to the ouside or pinch with the DL (without moving them at all), you can call DE QB spies, and you can call/call off LB blitzes. These improve your flexibility on defense a lot.

The bells and whistles added (Heisman race, in-season recruiting in dynasty mode and impact players) aren't really that important. However, the spring drills are kind of fun and helpful.

Overall, I am very happy with this game and I think it was worth every penny.

Frankly, I was disappointed with the gameplay of NCAA '05. The balance in the passing game felt completely wrong, making it unneccessarily difficult to actually complete a pass and near impossible to even throw the ball while on the run. Plus, the new features added more of an aesthetic charm to the environment rather than truly improving the gameplay. Thankfully, '06 brought the series back where it belongs. The passing game finally feels right, not too heavily favoring the defense like last year's or too heavily favoring the offense like the years before that. Passing is a challenge, but not impossible. But the best feature is the new running controls. The trick running moves are now controlled by the analog stick, resulting in a very natural, intuitive motion for jukes and stutter steps. Couple this with the reappearance of last year's features, and we now have what is a true update to the series. It is obvious that Tiburon has been heavily inspired by the 2K football series from last year, from the running controls to the actual announcers appearing for pre-game and post-game shows, but imitation IS the greatest form of flattery (especially when you've monopolistically knocked your competition out of the market). Regardless, NCAA '06 is a top notch sports game that really shows how much fun Saturdays in the fall can be.

Honest reviews on NCAA Football 2006

NCAA Football has always been a game that I usually buy for two primary reasons -1) to keep myself occupied until Madden comes out, and 2) to obtain realistic draft files which I can import in my Madden dynasties. Each annual version of NCAA has its ups and downs. I'd say this year's version is an improvement over last year's version, but not by much. The most important improvement is gameplay. In particular, passing is much easier this year, but at the same time, defensive back AI is smarter. So while your slants, outs and other quick short passes aren't going to bounce off players as often as last year, at the same time, you can't get away with "bombs away offense" as much as last year. Another new feature I enjoy is the expanded recruiting during the season because I've always found recruiting to be the most enjoyable aspect of dynasty mode. The new feature of impact players which helps you spot who the playmakers are and take advantage of them when they are hot is okay for quick strategy, but really not much that I care for. My biggest disappointment is the new "Race for the Heisman" mode, especially since EA Sports spent so much time and money advertising this new feature that allows you to create a player and dictate his college career. Could they put any less effort into it? One drill with ten plays determines ALL of your custom player's ratings?! You also automatically start your player no matter how skilled the other players are at the same position. There is no training camp competition, no split starting time, nada, nothing! And furthermore, you are forced to spend all these seasons trying to win the Heisman and when you finally do win it, the only reward is a crummy ten second video. Woohoo. It really is nothing more than dynasty mode with a few extra features. If you want the draft files for Madden, you want another football game, or you just love college football and some of the playbooks you'll never find in the pros, then give NCAA 2006 a try. Just don't expect it to blow your socks off.

It's been a long time since I really looked at sports games. Back on my N64 and Playstation, I was always looking for Blitz, Madden, NCAA...you name it, I'd try it out. But for a while, sports were out of my mind. But now that I'm actually playing football for my H.S. squad, why not try some new games? Well, I made the right choice here.

Pros:

-All the teams are present from all across the country.

-The announcer voice is actually quite nice, but you can turn it off and just hear the P.A. do the play by play.

-Create-A-School returns! Create your own school down to the field design.

-There is actually a quest mode (so to speak). The "Race For The Heismann" allows you to make your way through four full college seasons and get drafted to the pros. You choose your name, number, position, appearance, and everything else.

Cons:

-There are no real player rosters, but given that the players only have 4 years to be on their teams, it's not a great surprise.

-Honestly speaking, the PS2 version's graphics aren't too hot, especially when compared to the XBOX version. The movement is kind of jerky, and the players look choppy.

-The commentary gets kind of repetitive on occasion.

-The field grunts and tackle crunching sounds aren't too realistic.

This game is a nice choice for hardcore college football fans. Can't say I am one, but I've rediscovered the sport of football, and I can't help but recommend this game.

This game could be considered the Daytona USA of F1 racing; it's decidedly arcadey, slightly over-the-top, and not for everyone, but nonetheless still rather fun.

Graphically the game is alright... the cars and tracks are rendered quite nicely and details like air streaming off the rear spoiler, damaged parts wobbling and smoking and brake rotors glowing add some ambience, but overall nothing really jumps out and grabs you other than the impressive movie-style crash sequences. Sound is also average, nothing really stellar but it won't make your ears bleed. The high-pitched engine whine may annoy your dog, though.

The tracks offered in the game are quite challenging from a technical point of view, but often become amazingly frustrating due to the cars. As the game's name suggests these cars are highly dependent on downforce for their control, so when parts get damaged or knocked off they become increasingly harder to get around the corners without whacking into something.

Adding more to the frustration is that AI cars have no problems with shoving you around (possibly a product of the league's "no rules" format?), so if you try to pass on a corner you can expect them to try and wreck you. Speaking of wrecks, don't expect your spotter to warn you of them ahead of time... he usually only cuts in to complement you on passes or tell you to speed up if you're trailing the pack. Those flaws aside, the game does have its bright spots. There's enough variety in the tracks to test your skills, and while the cars are largely similar in performance each one has a special trait that can be used to your advantage (Jackhammer's car has very low drag which gives it an edge in acceleration, Hiroo's car has superior braking, and so on).

If you liked Daytona USA, this game will probably appeal to you right off. If you believe that all racing games must be like Gran Turismo, then don't bother. Everyone else, rent first and see if it suits your tastes.

A pretty cool racing game with noticably awesome crashes, and cool tracks. While the level of car and track detail is low, it blases at 60 FPS and provides wholesome crashes. Fun to play with a friend as well.

It is way too easy too crash, and you explode into a thousand pieces when you do...

Just got my 12GB slim and before firing it up I was going to put in my 500GB HDD. Please note the following:

* There is no physical 2.5" SATA drive installed.

* There is no HDD mounting bracket, that is a separate purchase of which the only one I could find available on Amazon is this:

http://www.amazon.com/TOMTOP-Mounting-Bracket-System-CECH-400x/dp/B00CRXE932/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_1

So another $15 unless you can find the $10 Sony branded kit.

I guess the problem was me assuming it had a 12GB 2.5" SSD, where in actuality it is flash memory embedded on the board. I have the drive in there and rigged up so its not going anywhere, but it's just unfortunate this was not well documented. Maybe it was and I missed it.

I am excited to see this product. I currently own 3 older PS3 systems and a myriad of other smart TV's, media players, game consoles, etc.

In my opinion, the PS3 has the best media player by far. I use my PS3 systems to watch VUDU, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. The Sony user interface and multimedia controls are outstanding. I do not play video games and I will be purchasing this unit strictly for the media playing capabilities. Finally, the wireless remote allows me to mount the PS3 in a hidden location for a nice, neat install.

Best Deals for PS3 12GB System

1) 12GB of flash storage is enough to run many disc-based games. Example: Lollipop Chainsaw requires 7MB of hard drive space. That is 0.057% of the space on this system. Final Fantasy XIII-2 requires 30.7MB, or 0.25%. Put another way, 30.7MB fits into 12GB over 400 times.

2) You have full access to Playstation Network and can download any title that will fit on the flash drive. For reference, the movie "Zombieland" in HD is 4GB (http://www.itworld.com/personal-tech/99858/sony-begins-selling-hd-movies-its-psn).

3) If you run out of space, you can upgrade the hard drive yourself.

Honest reviews on PS3 12GB System

When I first got it, it took forever to boot up (sometimes 10-15 minutes). One symptom was that the TV would flicker every so often throughout the boot up process...eventually getting the standard PS3 splash screen. I was ready to return it when I remembered someone saying to disable the Deep Color option in Settings...so I tried that. Now it boots right up. The other thing that is OK, but not to my taste is this unit has a top-loading DVD drive. My earlier PS3 (whose video output died) had the front slide in loader. My PS3 remote could unload the disc. The eject button on the remote now does nothing and you have to manually remove the disc. I didn't think it was that noisy as some reviewers have reported. I am yet to see if I can (or want) to install my old PS3 disc drive using the mounting bracket (sold separately). All and all, a good deal for the price.

I admit, it's my fault. I got excited and I assumed. Hopefully by now, you know what happens when you assume.

First: There is NO, I repeat NO real single player game on this!! This is not Pokemon Colosseum or XD!! And that's where I made my big blunder. I assumed that this game would be similar to those extrodinarily enjoyable games. I guess if I had gotten on to the right websites, I would have known this, but I didn't. Though the back of the box never promises anything like Colosseum, honestly, I never really looked at the back. Lesson learned.

Second: If you don't own Pokemon Pearl or Diamond, and haven't played through either of those games, there's really not that much reason to own this game. Yes, you have 12 pokemon available to you, but they never get better, and have NO manner of customization that I have encountered so far.

Third: The focus of the game is on battling other people over the net. While I assume this can be quite fun (I haven't done it, because I don't really fancy getting my backside handed to me by people with huge numbers of very customized pokemon from the aforementioned DS games), it's not really why I've played the Pokemon games in the past.

In the end, I really don't care for the focus of this game. And I sorely miss the single player game that I boneheadedly assumed would be there. I'm very disappointed in this purchase. I don't want other people to make the same mistake.

Pokemon Battle Revolution is anything but a revolution. It feels like a step in the wrong directions sometimes. Mostly, however, you just feel like the game wasn't complete... like it could use a lot more than we got. Simply put, Battle Revolutions isn't bad, it's just a glass that's half full. This is a game for only the most die-hard of Pokemon fans only.

Let's get the first big annoying thing out of the way. If you don't have Pokemon Diamond or Pearl, then I highly suggest buying those before you actually dive into this game. Otherwise you'll find your experience to be a pretty daunting one. If you don't, you get passes with random Pokemon on them. This is pretty sad considering other Pokemon games in this genre let you rent Pokemon. Instead here, you're given six random Pokemon with random stats and moves. You've no say in the matter, and that's just lame. At least transferring your Pokemon from your DS games is no pain at all.

Let's get the second really annoying thing out of the way. The menu is alright and everything, but your guide through the menu is really really annoying. The guide has to explain everything. And when I say everything, I'm not kidding. If you're a seasoned gamer, you know what most of the stuff the guide is going to tell you is, yet you still have to sit through it anyway. The good news is you only have to sit through it once.

Previous Pokemon Stadium games also gave you a more RPG like experience. There was actually more to battling than just the sake of battling. Here in Battle Revolutions, that's all you're doing. You're battling just to battle... and you're battling endlessly. There's no real reason why. Of course, this isn't a HUGE problem, though, because in the long run battling is quite fun. I just wish there was some kind of objective here, and some kind of reward to show your achievements to your friends. Not found here. Of course, there will be some who really love this. After all, the point of battle revolutions is to do just that: Battle.

Seeing all your favorite Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl is a real treat indeed. The game has a cartoon like look, but that doesn't mean it isn't impressive. In truth, it is. It doesn't take the Wii to its limits, but again, no Pokemon game ever really pushes a system to its limit. But the game looks good for what is. Visually the game is great. It's the other aspects of the graphics that I sometimes find pretty lacking. It suffers from the same thing Pokemon has suffered from for years. There's hardly a whole lot of animation going on. You simply watch your Pokemon step forward and perform the attack, and then you see the other Pokemon take damage. There's no interaction between the Pokemon. It's a limitation that doesn't make combat less exciting, but over the past few years you do kind of wish your Pokemon would actually... you know... look like they're battling each other rather than just standing there idly. Regardless, combat is still pretty solid, and much like the DS games, pretty addictive.

As far as DS and Wii connectivity go, this game shows that it can be done. As you can transfer your Pokemon from your DS to your Wii wirelessly. However, you get the feeling so much more could've been done with it. Unless Nintendo plans on making a "DS Player" for the Wii, I can't imagine why they wouldn't let you play through your DS games on the big screen. Again, it's not a big set back, but it is a step back from other Pokemon Stadium installments. There's also the excitement over using your DS as a controller, but even that feels incomplete sometimes. Simply because you can't use your DS as a controller in the main game. You CAN, however, use the DS as a controller when playing against a friend. It feels limited, though. Otherwise you can use your Wii-Remote like an NES controller or use the motion sensor controls to point and click.

Now there's the online experience. This is the first real true taste of an Online gaming experience on the Wii. Unfortunately, like the rest of the game, it feels a bit... incomplete. The only thing you can do online is battle. And the battles are all random. To be honest, if all I wanted to do online was battle... I'd just boot up my DS copy of Diamond or Pearl, and they let you do more online than this game does. It just feels like the online mode in this game was a test to see if they could actually do it. The test is a success, but the experience is pretty stale overall.

This isn't the kind of game you buy for curiosity's sake. A lot of it really does feel incomplete. There's so much potential here, but the overall product feels as though it were rushed. Previous Pokemon Stadium games had a lot more substance to them. Pokemon Battle Revolutions is, for the most part, fun. It just doesn't include a whole lot of content worth getting excited about... because the things that we were getting excited about aren't really all that exciting. You're pretty much only going to buy this game to battle... but why spend 50 bucks to do so when you could just as easily spend 35 bucks on the DS games? Besides, without those DS games you can't enjoy the full experience of battling in this game anyway. It's a good "test" to see what the Wii can do, but hopefully the next Pokemon Stadium game will actually push the structure to its limit.

This really seems like a Wii expansion pack for the Diamond/Pearl DS games. Great graphics make your beloved pokemon come alive. For a full-price game, a solo quest really seems like it would be appropriate. For those with D/P the worst problem is Nintendo's on-line match-making system which requires extra friend codes and doesn't even give you a game lobby so you can find someone you'd think might be a good match for you.

If you have the DS game already this is a great purchase. If your kids and their friends have them, this will make your house the game center of the universe! But if you don't have pokemon playing friends, I'd recommend finding a web site of other players to connect up with so you don't have to rely on the game's match making ability (or lack of it).

And if you don't have Diamond or Pearl I don't think it's worth the price.

Honest reviews on Pokemon Battle Revolution

Pros: Beautiful 3D Graphics, Excellent representation of the battle system we know and love, Great Character Customization, WiFi Battles, Transfer of Pokemon from Diamond or Pearl

Cons: No RPG-like Single Player Campaign, Must own Diamond or Pearl to completely experience the game (If you are buying this as a gift, make sure the person you're buying it for

Pokemon Battle Revolution is an excellent game in that it does exactly what it has been advertised to do: battle in three dimensions, use Nintendo's WiFi connection to battle all over the world with others, and offer an excellent character customization. However, this game is really only worth purchasing if you already own (or are intending to buy) Pokemon Diamond or Pokemon Pearl for the Nintendo DS handheld system. Owners of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are able to transfer all their Pokemon to the game using the WiFi capabilities of the Nintendo DS. If you do not own Diamond or Pearl, you are forced to use "rental Pokemon," which have fixed stats and movesets. They are harder to use than Pokemon you may be used to, but using the rental Pokemon does make for a challenging single player experience. It just isn't what the developers of the game intended this is not a stand-alone game.

I spent a few hours testing what the game has to offer. Its strongest point so far is the integration of random battle matchups using Nintendo WiFi. While you are still able to battle a specific friend using a friend code, the option of a random battle with a random person is appreciated. The creation of a character is also very fun, I spent about half an hour on my first battle pass. The character customization goes so far to even let you customize catchphrases for when Pokemon enter the battle, return to their PokeBall, etc. Not to mention that transferring Pokemon from my Diamond cartridge using the DS was seamless and easy, taking only a matter of seconds to see my beloved Pokemon appear in all their three dimensional glory. In addition, when you earn currency in the single player campaign, you are able to buy items and send them to your Pokemon Diamond/Pearl game using the Mystery Gift function.

Many critics of this game may say that it suffers due to lack of a deep, RPG-like mode present in the handheld games and it's Gamecube predecessors, Pokemon Colesseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. While I'm the first to admit that I would have enjoyed a single player RPG campaign like in the handheld games, that is not (and never was) what this game was designed to do. It is a Wii and DS specific representation of Pokemon Stadium for the Nintendo 64: It focuses on battling on a very broad scale, and very little else. The graphics are better, they've improved many aspects of the formula, but at its core, it's just a game for people who want to have the major satisfaction of seeing their carefully raised Pokemon battle in three dimensions. This is a wonderful game to use if you or your child enjoy the battling system, or if you simply want a new way to battle competitively online beyond using your DS. Just be aware that the single player campaign is not what you may be used to from the handhelds, and that most of the advantages come from owning a DS and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

If you do not have a DS do not buy this game. It is next to useless. Sure you can go online in 3D and do a couple of canned battles, but there is no real collectathon. However, if you have a DS this game is pretty darned cool, if for no other reason that you finally have some connectivity for that awesome wii and awesome DS. You can use your wii to see the DS guys you have found and put them in battle on the WII is stunning 3-D. Again, the short of it is that if you are a huge fan of Pokemon, you probably have a DS and are ying to go online with your diamond and pearl guys you have collected. If this is the case, buy the revolution!

My son is 6 years old, and loves this game. I was skeptical of the uDraw when I purchased it, but could not pass on the great deal Amazon had it. He then tried the drawing game that came with it, and was not too excited. After popping in the Super Hero Squad, I changed my mind about the uDraw. He has been sitting non stop for the past hour playing it, and it is keeping him glued to the xbox. Neat concepts with drawing to beat up your enemies etc..... I like the fact that this gives a little more activity into playing the xbox for him then just sitting with a buttoned controller and playing!!!

This game is A+. By far, the best boxing game out and I've played them all. Don't be scared by the total punch control. It takes all but an hour or two to get a feel for it and it is so much more rewarding than button mashing your buttons so that you need a new controller every month.

Career mode is indepth. You start out with 4 fights a year, then down to 3 and so on until retirement. You have your choice of opponents and in some cases you will be presented the opportunity to schedule a fight against someone that is much higher ranked or lower ranked than you. Purses are realistic and increase as your ranking improves. The level of realistic difficulty is back and so is strategy. No more automatic first round KO's by going in and just punching non stop. If you try to do that here, you'll find yourself out of steam quick and needing to recharge and block punches to regain it. This game is not easily mastered overnight like Knockout Kings, or HBO boxing.

Use your money earned to buy different clothing, equipment, entrance gimmicks liky pyrotechnics, entourage (women in skimpy clothing that lead you into the ring). There is so much to this game. Before each fight, you will schedule a bout first. Next, you train. There are 4 different rotating training sessions.

1. Heavy Bag

2. Sparring

3. Combo Dummy

4. Hitting the Mitts

You will only be allowed to do one per fight and depending on your success...you will be given attribution points to improve your fighter. Note: Each session allows you to improve on 2 attribution categories. There are 8 total...IE. Power, speed, stamina, body, chin, heart, agility, cuts:

After training, you will go fight your fight. You can spend money on new attire, equipment etc in between fights. You can view your rankings, in depth rankings of other fighters. There are tons of unlockables that you will unlock as you win bigger fights opening up new sig punches, attires, entrance music, et in the fight store.

After each year, awards are given out and you will see a list of fighters that retired, which will be replaced obviously by fresh ones.

In between rounds, various stats will be shown, and they are different from round to round. Three judges score on the 10 point must system.

Last comment: Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but take my word for it, the soundtrack is not that annoying nor is the announcer. It gets old after awhile, but you would have to be nuts to not buy a great boxing game because you don't like hip hop. Trust me, neither do I! If you play any video game long enough the music gets old. Sorry If I jumped around a bit, but I wanted to give you as much detail as I could. If you are a die hard boxing fan, this is a must.

I just put five dollars down to reserve the game and received a free demo disk. I have played the demo disk a total of 40 minutes and here are my observations.

First I cannot totally judge the game because the demo has inverted controls (move your stick to the right and the boxer moves left)and a close-up angle, plus it only allows a two round fight with double time. I am always perplexed as to why they screw you on a demo since ultimatley it will be the thing which may cause you to buy the game. I wish the options to change view as well as undo the invert were activated. I can see someone playing this demo for 5 minutes and giving up before truly understanding the game..just ridiculous.

That said, the mechanics of the new engine were my real area of interest. As someone who first got into videogames simply due to hoping for a great boxing game (I fell in love with 4D Boxing for the PC back in the early 90s, which is the best boxing game ever created), this game represented a hope for me after the horrid Knockout Kings 2002 in which EA produced a generic button masher with a career mode that resembles something you would find in Tecken.(I should add that Knockout Kings 2001 on PS2 is actually an awesome game that any boxing fan should purchase.)

Well, my first 10 or so rounds were spent trying to figure out the use of the total punch control. This uses one of the analog sticks as the means to throw all the punches (you can also use the buttons if you are traditional). Pushing the stick to the upper left throws a left jab. Pushing to the upper right throws a straight right. Throwing hooks, uppercuts and body blows are more complicated (the demo had no instructions)but as I played I found them to suddenly become more intuitive. The demo allows you to be either Roy Jones or James Toney with the other boxer being your opponent. I am not sure of the difficulty level, but I have not actually gotten the better of my opponent yet. But, as I have played I have begun doing better and that really gives you a sense of learning the game.

So what do I think of the new system? Well, the punching is so precise that you can bring back the ctick to throw a hook, hold the punch until your opponent throws a shot, and then time your counter. My timing still needs work, but it is very evident that this new engine will soon become so intuitive that you will truly feel like you have total control. This is the first boxing game in which counter punchers can win a fight. I am very interested in playing as Winky Wright as I feel this type of control is perfect for him.

I have to admit to being skeptical on the new total control system, thinking that not using any buttons would be awkward and less fluid. I was totally wrong. In fact, in one fight I went back to using the buttons (each is assigned a punch like in previous games)and felt much more awkward. It was simply amazing how fast the new control won me over.

So I am very happy to report (after the disastrous KO Kings 2002) EA is back in the boxing business. Rather that simply giving us a generic boxing game they have created a product which truly make beomce a landmark in boxing video games. I have to stress I have not played the final product, and do not know how good the career mode is, but based on my initial tests I would reccomend this game to anyone interested in a game in which you actually have to think and not button mash. Very impressive!

Best Deals for Fight Night 2004

You know...there IS something cathartic about beating the stew out of someone. One of the great things about this game is there's no threat of a civil suit!

EA Sports continues to dominate the sports sim genre with this entry. I'll confess I'm an "old" gamer (started with Pong and grew up on Defender & Asteroids--though Dig Dug was my masterpiece), but I really enjoyed the entirely new concept of joystick-only controls. I find it far more intuitive and is better than being out-mashed (as in "button mashing") by my son who's memorized the triangle/circle/triangle...etc. secret code.

My son & I get a great laugh out of beating one another without actually resorting to physical blows. We can talk thru an issue, taunt one another, knock each other out, and get up with nary a scratch or bruise. Some of you out there may not consider the Sweet Science to be father-and-son fodder...so don't buy it.

Highly recommended. While I agree with some other reviewers regarding the paucity of Big Name boxers, EA probably saved us each $5 by not having to pay hefty endorsement fees. If you don't like that Hector is missing, you can always make him yourself with 100's across the board.

Definitely a knockout!

Fight Night can be alot of fun, but it's certainly not the best boxing sim I have ever seen.

I actually still prefer KO Kings 2001, to this game. KO King 2001 had clinching, 4 types of cheat punches, realistic cuts, realistic fighter entrance music, realistic commentary(From Teddy Atlas and Max Kellerman), and realistic and fun special punches...

Fight Night just isn't a realistic boxing sim. Cuts open way too easy, there is no clinching, the commentary from Big Tiger is horrible. Whoever decided to hire Big Tigger instead of real boxing commentators should be beaten with a crowbar.

This game is overrated, but for good reason. EA's last 2 boxing games were horrible. Fight Night is certainly a step back in the right direction.

I sold my copy of Fight Night. It just gets boring after a while. I am going to wait for FN 2005. If EA doesn't have Big Tigger, I will probably purchase the game....

...but is that really saying much? Fortunately, yes.

Again, SEGA is innovating with its mascot character. Now, our brave young hedgehog has been summoned back to the realm of King Arthur, charged with saving the lands from the King's recent evil transformation and tyranny. At once we are presented with an opening cinematic that is rather well executed (the ravens are particularly good), though not quite as polished as the stunning first movie of Sonic Unleashed. Here is where Sonic is summoned by the granddaughter of Merlin----Merlina. After a brief confrontation with King Arthur, Merlina whisks Sonic and herself away to a safe location.

Here is where the player comes in. The first two levels are simple tutorials, where one learns how to control Sonic and wield the sword, traversing across a field filled with wooden targets. Right away, the player discovers the nature of the gameplay. The way Sonic travels is the same as in Sonic and the Secret Rings. Sonic can travel on only a narrow path through a three-dimensional world, generally only forward. There is no manual camera control, and if one wishes to retrace their steps, the camera does not follow Sonic's movements, forcing the player to walk into places they cannot see. This takes some getting used to, and is admittedly not my personal favorite method of gameplay. I much prefer the free-roaming three-dimensional environments of games like Sonic Unleashed and Super Mario 64. However, it is unique, and certainly acceptable once the player becomes familiar with the layout. Concerning the game's controls, they are very fluid and responsive. The swordplay is controlled by the movement of the Wii Remote, and adds a fun, interactive element to the game. Do not expect the sword to follow the Remote's movements exactly, as it only follows the direction the Remote is swung in, but this method is fun nonetheless. It is a lot funner than slamming down button combinations. Also, there are plenty of little goodies one can collect along the way. Some of these can be used to give Sonic better abilities, or forge new weapons for the other playable characters (Shadow the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna, and Blaze the Cat, which are unlocked during the course of the game).

The story is quite well written, I believe. Some have said it is `too juvenile', but I wonder what they were expecting. It is a game for kids, is it not? And it is no sillier than most games, even ones that are constantly lavished with praise from the critics (Ratchet and Clank, anyone? Not that I dislike that series...). Really, the basic tale was not silly at all. I found it to have a timeless message concerning where our loyalties should lie. We are not to make idols out of mortals, obeying them even if it contradicts morality. Men are not infallible, no matter how they might have lived before. In addition, the humorous parts are actually funny, and there is not an unwanted character in the storyline. Also, as the game moves on, the story keeps getting better, with surprise twists and good messages, as well as touching moments.

How do the game environments stack up? They are masterfully done, from the graphic quality and lighting, to the incredibly minute detail (watch the thousands of individual grass blades blow in the wind). The sky is especially well done, and everything captures the feeling of a medieval world very well. When Sonic encounters the enemy knights (wispy creatures from the underworld that take the form of the armor they wear), his sword becomes very useful. It is fun to cut down these cloudy foes, but herein lies one of the game's less desirable traits. Here, the violence definitely warrants this title's E-10 rating. Though there is no blood, the way the smoke dissipates following an enemy's destruction imitates it rather well. Though it disappears quickly, this can get a little much over time.

Now we come to the music. The game's theme is good, mixing classical music with electric guitars rather well. The music in the menu screens is also well done----a good modern take on medieval music. Many of the levels themselves have very good music, with a minimum of electric guitar. But there are other levels (especially the boss battles) where the music suddenly becomes harder, and less connected with the feel of the game. This is the one major fault, in my opinion, of this game. Thankfully, hellish vocals are not constantly screaming in the background, like they are in Sonic and the Secret Rings. Even with this said, the score as a whole is excellent.

Overall, this is a very fun, enjoyable game. It is not perhaps as good as Sonic Unleashed, but it is still great. This is yet another title that shows Sonic is still running strong.

I don't care what the critics say, this is a great game. The graphics are good, the level design is unique, and it has great replay value. The worst you could say about the game is that Sonic having a sword is kind of a gimmick, but it's a gimmick that works and is fun. I rate this game 87/100.

This game rocks. The story is good, the controls are good, and the graphics and soundtrack rock. Also when doing the missions the game doesnt have high expectations to get top ranking in a level like most sonic games do. If you like sonic, pic this game up for a treat.

I have not had this game for very long, but so far I am enjoying it very much. They have made vast improvements over the Sonic and the Secret Rings game, and the sword is a pretty neat addition. You can actually from side to side in this game, somewhat, unlike the last storybook sonic game.

If I had to complain about anything, I would have to say mainly it seems simple. Sonic does not move as fast as he does in Sonic Unleashed, but I guess that's because this game was more focused on being able to use a sword. If you could blast past and through everything, then the sword would be just about useless. Maybe it just seems simple because I have played just about every sonic game made.

Also some may like to know that it seems Blaze, Shadow, and Knuckles are somehow involved in the story line, or maybe just characters that resemble them. I have not gotten far enough through the game to see what happens with them though. There also is multiplayer battle modes, but I have not tried them yet either.

Anyway I give this a thumbs up over Sonic and the Secret Rings and recommend giving it a shot.

Bought this the other day with my PS4. It looked like the officially sanctioned version, so I thought I'd go for it. I still think it is official, the boxing etc. is exactly the same as the other accessories (camera, controller etc.). A couple things I love about it:

-It comes with an AC cord to plug into the wall, so it doesn't take up a USB spot on the PS4

-It's a great place to simply hang your controllers, without charging them if you want (leave the cradle in the 'up' position)

-If you want to charge it, press the controller down, and the cradle drops a little allowing the charging bit to go in the controller and start charging.

I always hate things that charge ALL the time as it ends up conditioning the battery for shorter work sessions. With this, it allows me to have a spot to hang my controllers without worry about charging when I want, then when they are in need of some juice you can press them down.

So far, they've been doing great.

This is nice and secure for putting the controllers into the dock and getting them charged. The power cord tucks nicely into the base so it all sits level. Overall, it does what it should and the clicking in and undocking of the controllers is very smooth. It's also compact and doesn't take up a ton of room. The controller itself tells you when it's charged, so there are no annoying blue or red lights that glow when it's on, just the controllers.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for POWER A DualShock 4 Controller Charging Station for PlayStation 4

This product is great. I purchased it along with a dualshock 4 before the PS4 came out. I was a little nervous about the spring mechanism where basically you put the controller on the charger, and to complete the connection and begin charging, you push the spring-loaded connector downwards and it locks in.

It charges my controllers quickly and displays a yellow color on the controller's lightbar to show that it's charging. As soon as the charging finishes, the light goes off. Charges my controllers quickly, takes up very little to no space, and looks great too! As soon as you realize that the controllers have to be totally vertical for them to click in, plugging them in without light or in the dark is no problem, and it's not a problem to do it one-handed either.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars instead of 4, is because I feel that the entire thing is a little lightweight. You want this not to move and to be a (slightly) heavy and solid piece of equipment. It's made of 100% plastic, looks great, and functions just fine, however if it had a bit more of a solid feel to it, I'd be glad to change this to a 5 star review.

Overall it's a great charger.
