EDIT IMPORTANT: in the time since I made a very positive initial review the add-on wheel has developed a problem. What I thought was just a loose collar screw (which can happen) causing the wheel to rock back and forth a little turned out to be an issue with the wheel itself. I confirmed the problem with TM tech support, and for sure its a problem with the wheel and not the base unit. Be advised.

(The problem specifically is: the male threaded part of the add on wheel may become slightly loose where it mates with the back of the wheel, because they are two separate parts. However they are held together, they came a little bit loose in my case.)

100% full disclosure: I actually bought 2 of these add on wheels from Mac Mall. The first one let out a loud 'crack' while I was using it, sounding like two pieces of plastic held together by adhesive suddenly let go. I saw no evidence of something broken but the wheel would afterward make small noises in use, and I didnt accept it. So I returned that one and received the second one, which is the one that developed the wobble (above). So why keep the 5 star rating?? Because the wheel is beautiful, otherwise, and mine may have just been oddballs.

.............

The wheel itself is the same diameter as the G25 and G27, which makes it extremely comfortable to use.

The paddle shifters are perfectly placed and sized, and they also use a non metal-to-metal stop; so the end of the shift is not a hard clank, but a bit deadened. Nice.

The construction seems identical to the larger GT wheel in terms of materials, etc.

The stock static paddles can be easily removed! Thrustmaster has instructions with pictures on their website. All it takes is a screwdriver and 5 minutes.

+ As many know, this wheel is one inch smaller in diameter than the stock GT wheel. This is great for open wheelers and adds a real responsiveness to the force feedback.

+ It's also a little heavier than the stock wheel. IMO this eliminates quite a bit of the "notchiness" of the stock wheel.

+ Shifters and button placement is a huge improvement over the stock wheel.

As with all Thrustmaster products I own, they had to skimp somewhere. This wheel does seem to squeak and creek for everyone. Here's what I've discovered: See the plastic housing where the buttons are all located? If you squeeze the top and bottom on that section, it'll make cheap plastic noises. The top and bottom housing for this has an incredibly tight fit. And when you're racing, this causes tension between the two and creates the cheap noises. It's mildly annoying, but I don't think it's going to lesson the lifespan of the actual wheel any (will edit if this changes in the future).

I own all the thrustmaster T500 wheel addons and so far only problem was the Ferrari Gt wheel went loose after 2 weeks but I just nipped up the front Allen screw bolts and was good as new.

Recommend this wheel to anyone who owns the T500 as it is much better than the original (with the moving paddle shift and the smaller diameter wheel).

Got the wheel delivered to Australia whith no problems and very quick.

Honest reviews on Thrustmaster Ferrari GTE F458 Wheel Add-On for PS3/PC/Xbox One

This wheel is just a bit smaller than the original T500rs wheel which i personally find a lot better, Also the paddles are no longer static and move with the wheel which makes driving cars with a sequential box 100x better.

Must have for T500RS owners.

I received game and guitars before date they gave me. Everything inside the package was perfect, nothing damaged. This game is sooo much fun!

The product had two guitars; one was unused and the other was. Although I knew it was a used product, the condition of the second guitar was very bad. I don't think anyone tried to clean it up for resale. If there had been a picture of the actual product on line, I would not have bought it.

My son is 6 years old, and loves this game. I was skeptical of the uDraw when I purchased it, but could not pass on the great deal Amazon had it. He then tried the drawing game that came with it, and was not too excited. After popping in the Super Hero Squad, I changed my mind about the uDraw. He has been sitting non stop for the past hour playing it, and it is keeping him glued to the xbox. Neat concepts with drawing to beat up your enemies etc..... I like the fact that this gives a little more activity into playing the xbox for him then just sitting with a buttoned controller and playing!!!

My Grandson is into the Super Heros. So when we saw this we got it to go with the UDraw that we bought at a great price. He enjoys playing it.

The Positives:

Good graphics.

Very little learning curve.

Simple game-play that is some-what enjoyable.

Solid sound-track.

The Negatives:

Very quick and easy to beat.

Weak voice acting.

Incredibly annoying and stupid one liners.

No replay value what so ever.

Overall, Didn't care for the game. Thought it was far too simple and easy, Not to mention quick to beat. Wouldn't recommend it at all.

Reviews of Xbox 360 Messenger Kit

Xbox 360 Messenger Kit

The 360 chatpad is a much-needed relief from the thumbstick method of typing messages on Xbox Live.

I have larger hands, so leaving it attached to the controller doesn't bother me while I play games. If you have smaller hands or the chat pad bothers you while playing, you can simply detach or leave detached until you need it to type.

Since it takes up the space on the controller normally allocated to the Xbox Live headset, MS has included a new headset that works with the chatpad.

I found it very easy to type with the chatpad, and overall I think it is a must-have accessory for anyone with a friends list!

The keys light up for easy use in the dark, and there is a one-press MSN button for those that want to chat in between gaming sessions. MS has really outdone themselves on this one. The 360 chatpad is an exceptional accessory for less than the price of a new game!

I'd longed for a thumbboard even before I heard this product was in the works. Using the gamepad to enter text is a serious drag, especially for entering prepaid codes. Once MSN Messenger support was added to Xbox Live, I almost considered plugging in a USB keyboard. But there's just something annoying about switching between a gamepad and a keyboard.

The Chatpad does exactly what it's meant to do. If you've used a Sidekick before, the feel of the keyboard should be immediately familiar but with more of a click. It's easy to use, lets you type fairly fast, and has some nice little features, like a backlight and a dedicated Messenger button, which when pressed will pause the game and pull up a small overlay box of your current Messenger conversation.

The included headset seems like a slight improvement over the original and includes the volume/mute control in the middle of the cord. Because of the change in the plug from the original, you can also use the headset with a phone, if you really want.

The only complaints I have:

* The backspace key is placed in a pretty awful position, to the right of the space bar. That takes some getting used to.

* Occasionally, you might type too fast, and rather than a delay before your typing shows up, characters are simply dropped. Hopefully, that's just a software bug that will be fixed soon.

Overall, this is a good buy if you don't like using a USB keyboard and especially if you are a Messenger user.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Messenger Kit

This little gem is a welcome addition for any gamer that travels and likes to be able to game on a friend's console.

Recovering your gamertag can be a lengthy and frustrating process, mainly because you've got to type in various bits of information to verify the account. I've been the victim of having to do this up to 4 times in a row, hunting for letters and twitching the thumbstick to enter the characters; what a pain!

Yes, you can plug in a USB keyboard, but who really wants to wrestle with one of those? Sitting 3 feet from your console is so 1985.

The Chatpad takes care of that mess quite nicely with satisfyingly clicky key action and fairly accurate recognition on screen. One thing I did have to get used to is that you do not hear a tone when typing in the first capitalised letter in a sentence or word. I type relatively fast, but I've had no problems with the Chatpad or console keeping up with me. Once you get accustomed to the slightly different "shift" buttons (orange and green) to use for characters other than digits and basic letters, you'll find it hard to remember what you ever did before you got your hands on this attachment. No pun intended.

Another little perk is the ready-to-chat MSN Messenger button. It was a bit of a no-brainer since Live players all have Windows Live IDs. I've been able to chat with friends on both the 360 as well as those on the PC without any problem. Again...no USB keyboard hunching or hunting and pecking with the thumbstick or D-pad. Yay!

And lastly, even though I've relatively small hands for a woman, I've had no difficulty with the Chatpad making the controller too bulky or awkward to grip. I haven't made any mistaken key presses or have had the attachment get in the way while gaming.

Really, the only thing I'd like to see by way of new developments for this product is a black version to match my Elite controllers. Black and white might be fashionable in other arenas, but somehow it just doesn't work in this case.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Messenger Kit

Own a 360? You need this pad, you don't know it, but you do =). The pad can be bought in a few different ways be it on its own or bundled I think with a XBox Live Gold membership.

The pad snaps itself snaps in to your 360 controller plugging into your headset port and also the back/bottom two holes of your controller. It can be a bit of a pain to line up the messenger pads input and you have to press kinda hard for it to snap in but at least then you know it's not going anywhere :P. A headset jack at the bottom of the pad means you'll still be able to use your headset with the messenger pad.

As I've owned this for years now and have had it attached while playing all sorts of games (fps, rpg etc.) you really don't even know it's there. But when you have to type in a name, or you just want to write out a quick response to a buddy online it makes it soooooo much easier to do so! Gone are the days of hunting and pecking for the right letters and symbols using the analog stick =). Another bonus is if you bring your controller to a friends' house and need to recover your gamertag on your friends 360, you won't be spelling out your password on the screen for all to see, instead you just type it on the pad and no one's the wiser =).

Looking at this initially in the store I really didn't think I'd need one of these but once you use one you'll wonder just how you survived so long without one.

I love the tactile feel and backlighting on this keypad and recommend it heartily. The only problem I have with it is if you are wanting to use a different headset (I have the turtle beach 5.1 surround with mic) the connection is not the standard one you'll find on the controllers... so they won't just plug in. I ended up having to splice the new (included) headset's cable onto my old headsets' cable. A hack job but it worked. But really, this should have been taken care of in the initial design. =/

Review of Obscure

Obscure
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
"Obscure" is a slick, enjoyable survival horror game that compensates for its flaws with budget appeal and a high school setting that, while trite by now in the realm of Hollywood feature films, is virgin territory for a video game. Whether or not the setting and characters suit your tastes as a gamer is entirely another matter. Even so, most fans of the survival horror experience will find something to enjoy in "Obscure."

The storyline is a bit contrived and convoluted, ultimately boiling down to the usual illegal genetic experimentation. Predictably, this work results in horrific mutations and zombies that stalk the living. Oh well, at least the fact that all of this takes place within the confines of a high school sets it apart from all the other games recycling that premise. And like 1998's The Faculty, it's ultimately up to a ragtag band of grade schoolers to step up and save the day. Yes, definitely keep The Faculty in mind and see if you can't spot the similarities the resemblance of the hoodlum character to said feature's Josh Hartnett being almost criminal. Despite the fact that the game's developers are French, the depiction of American high school students is not as offensive as it could have been save for a few misfires here and there, primarily each and every character's obsession with basketball.

Each of the five different characters represents a sort of high school archetype, such as the aforementioned hoodlum (easily the most likable of the gang), the jock (not as bad as it sounds), and the nerd (so irritating it's hard to convince yourself to take on his mantle). They have their own personal strengths and weaknesses, most of which make sense given the nature of their characters. For instance, the jock is the strongest of the bunch while the hoodlum can pick locks. When it comes down to gunplay, however, each and every one of the five is, perhaps disturbingly, quite adapt with a firearm to the point where it's hard to tell if any one is more qualified than another.

When all five characters are available, you can choose to play as one while a second computer-controlled companion joins you switching back and forth between them is a snap. Unfortunately the rest of the game's interface is a chore. Switching between weapons in times of desperate need is maddening, as is using that first aid kit before you take a final, killer blow. Compensating for this, however, is a game that's fairly merciful in terms of its difficulty on the normal settings.

The game's environments are quite well done, if not very subtle. You've never seen a high school like this one it looks more like an insane asylum that's been shut down for years than a place of study. Each room and location still has a functionality to it, though. None of them feel like they were designed by guys making a video game so much as guys trying to create a fairly convincing high school setting that just happens to serve as the backdrop for a video game, complete with horrific overtones. All in all, the ambience is perhaps the game's strongest quality.

The monsters in "Obscure" are the usual sort, for the most part, but a few of them do stand out (particularly the nasties that appear later on, very H.P. Lovecraft in appearance). In any case killing them is more interesting than it might have been thanks to some satisfying weapons and, more importantly, the use of real or artificial light. Light actually harms these creatures, so taping a high-powered torch to your pump action shotgun is a good way to even the odds. Each monster comes complete with its own shadowy field, however, and only the strongest beams can break through it, making said creatures particularly vulnerable to physical attacks for a short period of time. This element gives combat a little extra something.

The puzzles in "Obscure" are boilerplate for the genre nothing really special or mind-bending is on display here. On top of this, the game is a fairly brief affair, so gamers looking for more to sink their teeth into may want to look elsewhere. However, one of the best features of "Obscure" is its budget price. Though it would have been a decent game at normal cost, the added bonus of paying less here equals getting more, and must be factored in to any review. In other words, "Obscure" doesn't break the mold, but it does what it does pretty well, complete with some impressive production values and at this price, it's hard to go wrong if you've even a passing interest in the material.

(Note: Five stars on a curve given the budget price tag)

Yeah, it's got a crappy story and acting, but it's got alright controls, nice action, and cooperative play that ISN'T ONLINE! That's right, not everyone has high speed internet. If you know someone who can stand your presence enough to sit beside you and play a horror game, then get this game.

This game is great in everyway for a game that got it done with a low budget the game is more like resident evil not "Silent Hill" the game goes places resident evil hasnt even tried yet

the +'s

First off its really two players/the second player can just start with you whenever---also the game gives you much better/quicker character switch then Resident evil Zero

you can reload in game without pressing start

you can shoot while you walking/running etc.

the game is good for its price and its a game capcom needs to take notes from.........but if your going to buy any game research it check review and .......you know

Honest reviews on Obscure

This game is like a low budget horror film, but has a pretty good story and some what interesting characters. My only complaint is that the first quarter of the game is too hard. There is almost no health and bashing weapons do almost no damage. Once you get a gun with a light on it is gets a lot easier and the is a suplus of healing items. Great game!!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Obscure

A friend and I have been on a pretty big horror kick lately, movies and what not. We decided to pick this up and play it on the original xbox, sadly it isn't backwards compatible for the 360.

The game starts out with a friend of the main characters being taken hostage by some kind of mad scientist in the basement of the high school. The high school is then over taken by these odd looking plant like monsters. The story unfolds through notes and photos found in the school, and cut scenes on occasion.

The game play is fairly simple but can be difficult, and you need to find CDs within the game to save your game, and ammo is a bit scarce at times. But overall we had a lot of fun with this, the game lasted about eight hours but the time flew by. We really had to use co-op strategy to run and gun against the bad guys and swap items among each other and what not.

I would recommend this to survival horror game fans who don't mind their games being tongue in cheek in the vein of Buffy the vampire slayer. And would also definitely recommend taking this game apart in a co-op setting. It's definitely more fun that way.

Graphics: B( Nice graphics for the old school xbox, cut scenes are OK. But overall the game looked pretty nice, especially some of the backgrounds.)

Sound: B(The voices can be a touch annoying, but the grumbles and scary noises are a nice touch. )

Fun: C+ ( My friend and I had a good time with this and really enjoyed the survival horror co-op game play. Besides one part in the very beginning being the only part we jumped at, I would say give it a pass if you truly like your games to scare you. Plus the story line is pretty cliche. )

Overall: C+ (A nice package overall, decent length, good difficulty, eh storyline, but fun on the whole. Would recommend it for co-op fans, not someone who likes to go into survival horror alone. Give it a try, you might dig it's cheese factor LOL. )

I recently purchased an HDTV and had been looking for an HDMI cable to use with my video game consoles to match the high definition display resolution that my television is capable of projecting in. In my town we don't have a lot of choices when it comes to electronic stores, but I happened to stumble across this cable the other day.

The cable is 9 feet long, allowing a great reach and extension for electronics that may be located a good distance away from the television. The cables are also universal, I tried these out on both my Xbox 360 and my PlayStation 3, and the cable works perfectly with both. The cables are extremely easy to use, simply plug in one side into the appropriate output slot on the console, and then plug in the other end into the television's receiver/input HD slot. This makes using HDMI even easier than component or composite cables since HDMI carries over a digital signal over one cable, versus multiple inputs for both audio and video that older cables such as composite use.

After inserting the cables, simply change the display resolution of the console in the settings toolbar to the desired resolution that corresponds with your television's capabilities, and that's it. Upon calibrating my console to display in 1080p resolution, I immediately noticed a difference in the graphics of already stunning games, such as Gears of War 2, and NBA2K10. Overall, this is a great product that does what it's supposed to, what more can you ask for from an HDMI cable?

For those who are skeptical because you have played these songs before need to know that the gameplay is new for all songs. In career, you only need to play a select number of songs to unlock the next section, so at first I was only playing songs from the older games that I haven't played in a long time and skipping songs that are available on current games such as Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2. To my surprise when I did finally play those songs that the fingerings for guitar/bass are different. They didn't just take the current guitar gameplay and plop it into this game. Instead, they have updated the gameplay to not only have different fingerings (that in my opinion are mostly a vast improvement over the previous versions of these songs) but they also incorporate the newest styles of gameplay, such as three string chords & the three string hammer-on chords that we saw with the latest versions of guitar rhythm games. It makes all of these previously released songs fresh, new, and fun to play. Also, all the original artists are here, so all the cover songs from past games now have the original artists.

Being able to play drums and sing was enough to make me want to get this previously released material, but having new guitar fingerings for all these songs was a bonus I didn't expect. You also get all the online options from the currently released rhythm games.

I highly recommend this.

I saw my kids playing the Guitar Hero games and recognized many of the songs included. Once I learned to play the game myself I started getting the games for the classic rock songs they contained. I bought Smash Hits to take to a party with some of our friends because it had the most recognizable songs from my generation. After one of my friends got the hang of the guitar controller, he was into it. Playing along with songs like "Smoke On the Water" and "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" brought back memories of the days when we could only play along on our "air" guitars. Loads of fun!

Best Deals for Guitar Hero Smash Hits - Xbox 360

Just finished playing through all the songs on the game and have to say it is great fun! The songs selection rocks for the most part (rather would have had 'infected' on here than 'hey man nice shot'). Also note worthy is that all the songs are available from the get go without any codes!!

It really is the most polished guitar hero game yet; all the parts of the band play well and pretty much as they should with no frustrations; however I seem to get heavy feedback on vocals where my friends don't.

Simply too much fun.

Honest reviews on Guitar Hero Smash Hits - Xbox 360

This game rocks flat out. If you're a die hard Guitar Hero fan, it's kind of disappointing to not see every song you want on one disc (which I hope they will do one day..), BUT, this game is as close as it's been for me. Awesome game, with lots of songs, and it stirs up the songs notes arrangements which adds flavor to old licks. This game is very very fun, must have for the music genre in gaming.

Best The Borderlands 2 Season Pass Deals

The Borderlands 2 Season Pass
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
So far, by buying this Season Pass, you'd get the following:

1. Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, which increases max level from 50 to 61 and add a new grade of weapon, Pearlescent.

2. DLC 1 Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty

3. DLC 2 Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage

4. DLC 3 Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

5. DLC 4 not yet released (expected to happen in this June, so should be coming soon)

Of DLC 1~3, probably only DLC 1 has a fulfilling length of main story line and map sizes. DLC 2 and 3, though not necessarily bad, are sort of more rushed releases, with shorter main stories and smaller maps, plus some inexcusable sloppiness.

It is pretty much an inherited trend from Borderlands 1 --so we could expect DLC 4 to be much greater in all aspects than DLC 1~3.

DLC 1 has two raid bosses (invincible bosses): Hyperius and Master Gee

Master Gee is disparaged by many, if not most, players, though I am one of the rare exceptions.

Additionally, DLC 1 introduces a mission reward unique weapon, Sand Hawk, which is extremely powerful in certain cases.

DLC 2 has one raid boss: Pyrocaustic Pete

Pete is likely the most favorable raid boss of Borderlands 2 so far, due to its relatively easy difficulty and relatively high drop rate of legendary items.

DLC 2 also has vending machine that would sell legendary items, torque-brand (Explooooooooosion!) only, however.

DLC 3 has two raid bosses: Voracidous and Dexiduous

Voracidous is the most challenging raid boss so far, although there are game design flaws to kill it in an instant or greatly reduced the difficulty.

Dexiduous is considered the crappiest boss designed in general, but a few players find it entertaining to fight against.

DLC 3's normal enemies are probably the most unique, but they are a lot harder to kill compared with other enemies.

The Season Pass likely would be considered worth its price (29.99), and it is almost a must-have if you'd like to play online with other people.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

If you loved Borderlands 2 you should get this I like Mr. Torgues DLC as you can get legendaries from the vending machins & farming Pyro Pete is easy too. A great deal for the DLC IMO.

This season pass includes the $4.99 level cap increase from 50 to 61 and allows you to add 11 more skill points to your character.

At the time of writing this I use the code: CAGROCKS at got it for $16 :) Hope it still works for you. If you can get this for under $20 bucks it is a great deal.

Mac Vault Hunter These will work on Mac steam versions of Borderlands 2 unsure if it works on the version you buy from the Mac App store. To activate on steam got to the game in the menu bar and click "activate product on steam."

Best Deals for The Borderlands 2 Season Pass

If you're intending to buy all the DLC then getting the Season Pass is a no brainer as you'll essentially get one of the DLC for free (when purchased at full retail price) when you add all the prices up. Since the season pass also includes the new level increase as well you can cut $5 more off your total cost by getting the SP. I was lucky enough to get this on sale for PC for only $10 and since I have to buy two copies (one for myself and one for my partner) I saved about $70 off the total combined prices of all the DLC and the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade pack. Installation is very simple as well. You'll download a tiny app that connects to the net and gives you an alphanumeric code that you copy. Start up Steam, click activate product on Steam, paste in the code, and BAM! you're done.

What's included?

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirates Booty

Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt

Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep (to be released in June 2013)

and

Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack

What's not included?

Everything that I've not listed above including the DLC playable characters

Tips:

Follow Borderlands2/Gearbox Software on Facebook and Twitter for Shift codes. These codes can be entered into the game to get Golden Keys as well as special items from events. Golden Keys are used on a special chest in the main city of Sanctuary for Epic quality items (Weapons, Shields, Class Mods, and Relics.)

Use your preferred search engine to search for "Borderlands 2 Shift Codes List" to find a list of unexpired Shift codes to load up on Golden Keys. Personally I just use the ORCZ site for a listing of codes as it's updated constantly.

And finally, to get the most out of this game or any other, have fun, play with friends, and don't cheat. Cheating just denies you the experience you paid for.

Honest reviews on The Borderlands 2 Season Pass

Borderlands 2, in my opinion, is notable for its creative storyline, gameplay, and characters throughout the mystical world of Pandora. With the Season Pass, you meet even more characters, play through even more campaigns, and get even more guns than you thought were possible. Every DLC is fantastic, and this is a must buy for any fan.

I was hoping for a game like 11th Hour or Fools Errand. This game is more arcade like, but the puzzles are fun. Turns out I'm liking the game more and more as I play it. I do get tired of shooting the ghosts that come at you from all driections, I've got plenty of shooters to do that.

The basics of the game are that you are hired by the good ghosts of the mansion to get rid of the evil spirtis. You go from room to room solving puzzles in order to capture free spriits that allow you to gain access to other parts of the mansion. Along the way evil spirits and creatures attempt to do you harm.

The graphics and sound are very well done. Its easy to just pickup and play a room, save and go do other things, or you can sit for a few hours and work the game.

Definitely worth a rent, but good puzzle games are so few and far between, give it a purchase so we can all enjoy more titles in the future.

This game is terrific. Apart from one or two graphic anomalies (no game is perfect) and two significant omissions from the documentation, the only negative thing I can say is that it's too short (about 17 hours on easy level). It's beautiful, fun, funny, and just a great experience. This is one of my favorite games for the Xbox.

(The important omissions are that you can strafe (step sideways) and back up without turning, each by holding the left trigger and moving the left thumbstick; and, you get 100 souls each time you get a gem, so you can open two doors marked 170 when you've only collected 70. Those two tidbits might be in the documentation, but I didn't catch them when I quickly read through, and they're important.)

I found this game to have just the right mix of goofiness, scariness, and challenging obstacles to be fun. Most of the time, you're trying to solve puzzles and get past/around/over/through things, but sometimes you have to shoot your way through monsters and evil spirits. However, the shooting isn't really the point: the threats are mostly just part of the atmosphere, and your arsenal consists of just one "weapon" with a few upgrades along the way.

The graphics are awesome, the sound just right (except for the pause music which will drive you insane if you listen to it too long), and the game play smooth. If you like platformand puzzle-style games with a little goofiness, a little fear, a good dose of the supernatural, and lots of puzzles, this game is the game for you.

And by the way, my family played through on the easy level all together, and the scary stuff wasn't too much for my four-year-old... as long as we kept reminding her it wasn't real, just a drawing. Yet for adults, a couple of images are too creepy or disconcerting to laugh off completely or easily forget.

I just wish it was twice as long. For the price, I'd expect more than 25 or 30 areas. But it's so much fun, we're already playing through it again on the next higher skill level...

9.4 out of 10.

Skip the movie and play this game instead! It's absolutely fantastic and should hold much appeal for people of all ages. The graveyard singers are a hoot and so is the pause music. Really reminds me of classic Disney entertainment. Watch out though, the chess game is NOT what it seems!!!

I bought this game a while ago after returning from Tokyo Disney. I'm a fan of the Haunted Mansion ride. This game captures more of the feel than the movie did and provides good entertainment value. The puzzles are well though out and graphics work well. Overall a good buy for children and adults alike.

As a fan of all things shooters and Dreamcast, I was pretty excited to get my hands on Under Defeat HD. I originally had this ordered from a competitor's website, then I pre-ordered on Amazon for the heck of it, which I'm glad I did since it's now an Amazon.com exclusive, so if you want it, don't hesitate, buy it ASAP.

First and foremost, it must be said how beautiful this game looks with its glossy HD makeover. Everything is crisp and has much more detail than the Dreamcast version. For the most part, it all runs buttery smooth, too. I've seen some complaints about "slowdown" on the Playstation Blog and some other places, however these people must not know that slowdown is a feature in shooters like this and not a technical issue. This is a vertical shooter and the gameplay feels as good as ever. Yes, compared to other shooters this has a different feel, however it doesn't take long to acclimate to.

Also, I feel it needs to be said that $29.99 for a retail shooter is an absolute steal. I've heard complaints that these need to be $10-$15 Xbox Live Arcade/Playstation Store downloads, but I just disagree. As a fan of old school games, specifically shooters, I like getting something physical, not having a game sitting on a hard drive with no guarantees. I like the peace of mind that I can play this 15 years down the road, which is important for classic games like this that have timeless qualities. For $29.99 you're getting the game, physical soundtrack w/ digital art book, all DLC and patches from the other region versions, and a brand new in-game chopper. In addition, unlike most games these days, you're getting a color manual included. The import price for this game on NCSX is $83.90, so its $29.99 price is nearly 1/3 of that of the import version. In other words, this price is awesome.

Under Defeat HD is a game that deserves your support. It's inexpensive, packed with goodness, and it's just a quality shooter, as well as being the first retail shooter to hit North American PS3's. Buy it.

Back in 2006, developer G.rev released Under Defeat on the Dreamcast in Japan. Obviously this was well past the point where Dreamcast games were getting regular releases in North America, so the game stayed off shore at the time. I managed import the game and spent a lot of time with it. And now with this release, it's finally available for everyone.

The PS3 version is, as the name implies, a high-definition remake. The arcade mode is very similar to the Dreamcast version. There are a few minor changes here and there, so a purist may want to stick to the Dreamcast version, however it's close enough for most players. Also included is the New Order version that includes a modified play field suitable for widescreen displays. You can also choose to play with dual analog controls, optimized for modern controllers, or stick with the original arcade rotation scheme. So we get the best of both worlds: A reasonable approximation of the original game and controls, and a revamped version to take full advantage of modern setups.

Under Defeat is a shmup. You fly a helicopter, shoot stuff, grab powerups, and avoid bullets. The field of play is an overhead slightly angled view, similar to Raystorm.

The 'twist' to Under Defeat is that your helicoptor can rotate slightly to shoot at different angles. There are also two planes of play, with air targets and ground targets. Your helicoptor normally fires forward, however when a ground target comes into range your angle of fire changes to lock-on to them instead. Powerups consist of small pods that fire along side you, with missles, chainguns, etc. These are activated by pausing your fire to charge them up; thus you often have better firepower by not shooting all the time. Planning which powerups to use and when to activate them adds an additional layer of strategy, and is often more critical than it appears at first glance. This also lets you target multiple enemies at the same time, or concentrate fire on more sturdy enemies.

The level design is where Under Defeat truly shines. From assaulting enemy bases, to battling fleets of ships, to assisting allied tanks on the battlefield, everything is placed well and makes sense. Often when allies are on the screen, you can choose to attack enemies firing at you, or assist those allies against enemies that are targeting them so they can continue fighting. It's really slick design that helps the game feel more like a battlefield.

Boss fights are huge and intimidating, with multiple parts to destroy. This gives a lot of flexibility in how you want to approach them: You can concentrate fire and go straight for the kill, or pick them apart piece by piece.

Under Defeat is a difficult game. Don't let modern "bullet-hell" shmups fool you, more bullets does not always mean harder. I've gotten single credit clears on several modern and old arcade shmups, however this one gives me trouble from time to time. Still, the learning curve is very much worth it as each level just gets better than the last.

It's not every day a shmup gets a disc-based release on PS3, and this is one of the better ones on any console. With added features to take advantage of HD displays and modern controllers, and an original version for the arcade experinece, you really can't go wrong. And at the retail price, it's a steal compared to what the Dreamcast version goes for.

Under Defeat is a great shoot that original came out on the Dreamcast a couple of years ago. Now, this great shooter has new modes, an exclusive chopper, and HD graphics. I played this game on the Dreamcast, it suffered from on screen lag time. Now on the PS3 the HD graphics are beautiful (you must have a HDTV to truly appreciate it). The gameplay is very solid and hard at times (I have not tried the easy mode but will not cause I am true gamer). Once you have completed a level you can go back in practice mode to master that level. I have been playing for about 2 weeks now and I am very satisfied with this game. If you are a fan of the classic overhead shooter Under Defeat is a game you must have in your library. For $32.00 you can't go wrong with that.

Honest reviews on Under Defeat: Deluxe Edition - Playstation 3

Under Defeat is an interesting story. It started out as one the final releases for the Dreamcast in the midlate 2000s, in which the system was already dead everywhere else outside Japan. The fact that not only did G Rev rereleased it modern consoles, with Rising Star Games releasing it in the U.S., this really makes it a gem for the current generation. One can only hope if RS Games will release more in the U.S., after all, they did help release King of Fighters 13 in Europe!

Here's to every shmup gamer across the globe!

If you are a fan of the Toaplan military shooters of the late 80's/early 90's, get this game. It hits the right notes. Excellent soundtrack(s), new features not in the original DC version such as dual stick mode and redone HD graphics, and and accessible challenge set this shmup apart. Don't expect Cave bullet curtains. Don't expect Ikaruga's level of design. Under defeat is just pure old school arcade fun,

Don't understand why this title isn't more celebrated. Aesthetically beautiful, tons of tracks/drivers to choose from and while the handling isn't perfect it's totally playable. The music isn't particularly memorable, but it isn't horrible either. But forget all that, get four controllers, three other people and a few hours later you'll have no regrets with this purchase.

I've seen several lukewarm reviews for this game on a couple Web sites like IGN.com and I almost decided not to buy it, but I went ahead and took the plunge anyway and I was really glad I did! I've read some of the Constantine comics, enough to know who the character is, and I liked the movie all right. Not the best film I'd ever seen, but fun atmosphere. (Keanu's acting is always a little flat but the movie was really more about the effects and creepy occult stuff to me.) Anyway some of what I really love about this game is that it feels a lot like classic survival-horror stuff like Resident Evil and it has a significantly different plot from the movie, though the major characters are the same. (Makes me wonder if perhaps the videogame designers were working from an early version of the script.) Either way, I really dig this game. Great art direction and level design, lots of nice explanations in the journal give you back stories on the demons and artifacts, and the music is pretty great too. Cutscenes are nicely rendered, though the characters move a little stiffly (but even that makes me think warm nostalgic thoughts about Resident Evil games past.) The Easter Egg hunts you go on to find the hidden bonus cards are addictive and the extras aren't bad, though I really wish it had included an actual readable e-comic on the disc or more interviews. The comic scans are OK but nothing to write home about. All in all, though, it's a great survival-horror game and lots of fun, though I agree it's a little short. (Personally I extended the gameplay by playing through again on the most difficult setting, which made things a little more challenging.)

Constantine is a third person shooter based on the DC Comic series HELLBLAZER: John Constantine and the movie Constantine .The game has voice acting done by Keanu Reeves. Its like watching a movie and playing along also.Basicly your job is to kill demons and find certain holy artifacts ,locate keys for opening locked doors and find hidden areas using true sight,etc.etc. And sometimes you'll need to travel into the HELL realm to find items or complete a level. Its a Good verse Evil storyline, although Constantine is niether. The controls are descent, Constantine while unarmed walks a little buttery but I did notice he's walks smoother while armed with a weapon. The way Constantine walks reminds me of Hitman games sort of.Constantine jumps automaticly when needed and climbs areas when needed as well, mostly your just on foot at a slow joggers pace. You have the ability to get closer view third person by clicking right analog stick or first person view in the "true sight" by pressing X button.Depending on your controller figuration it may differ.Basicly there's three modes of view.... Third person,Third person closer, and finally First person in "true sight" mode.True sight mode is Constantine's ability to see demons inside of normal looking people, the ability to locate hidden areas marked by a special marker and you can see in the dark, simular to Riddick's sight in Cronicles Of Riddick Butcher Bay.You also have special magic abilites to perform special attacks against demons, like "Storm Crow" which is a lightning attack ,"Hunger" which launches a plague of flies on targeted demon,"Exorcism" which forces demons called bile-riz out of there's human hosts,"Protection" which protects Constantine from all attacks for a short period of time,"Confusion" which bestows Constantines appearance on the targeted demon for a limited time causing surrounding demons to attack the transformed demon,"Gargoyle" which transforms surrounding demons into stone which then can be shattered by a projectile,"Demon Leech" which causes demons to get damage from there own attacks and the only spell that can hurt Balthazar, all these spells use a certain amount of magical power which is replenished by defeated demons, you get certain magical spells as you progress in the game also you can find them in hidden areas located by your "true sight".Constantine has the ability to travel between hell and the regular world by finding a puddle or pool of water and casting a "Gateway" spell ,he then can travel into the HELL realm ,the hell realm is filled with flames and there's a constant hurricane like wind with beat upold cars flying over your head and big fireballs falling from the sky .It looks like a beat up city where everything is in a reddish color. There are demons spawning into both realms to try to kill you .The "Title" credits of the game are really kool ,a Flying demon called a "Seplative" Flies in and picks you up for a ride nicely done. The graphics are nice nothing really stands out but I do have an "S" cable so keep that in mind. The Hell Realm is pretty kool looking lots of heavy wind and flying embers in the air. There's a couple puzzle type things to solve, but not very many in the game If I remember correctly I think there's a total of Three. This game is mostly a shooter with faith based type weapons and you get these certain weapons as you advance in the game that resemble a Shotgun which shoots blessed shells and if you shoot into a wall you'll notice the shells come out in the form of a cross, a Flamethrower that has liquid dragon fire, a Crossbow that fires reusable iron tipped bodkins, my fav the Nailgun that fires reusable 6 inch nails ,and double fisted magnum type guns that fire stones from the road to Damscus. Also Constantine has the ability to perform Unarmed Melee attacks in which the demon flies back Matrix style after being killed in a Unarmed Melee attack, the melee's are simple one button attacks. You get health and magic upgrades if you can find hidden areas by using your "true sight" and Also you can get upgrades for your weapons such as exploding rounds and flame arrows. The "Behemoth" Boss can get tough sometimes, you fight him 3 times in the game, but just check your notes It'll give you tips on killing the bosses.Constantine is not a very hard game.I played it on MEDIUM mode and finished the game in 3 days. There EASY,MEDIUM,and, HARD mode.Constantine is a short game with only 14 levels that arent very big.I wish the game was longer. The game just ended thats was it ...no big ending scene,But I have to say there is alot of movies that connect the levels. All in all Constantine is a solid marriage between storyline CG movies and good gameplay,But its a little too short, they couldv'e added a few more levels ,before you know it your done. And there's no big replay value once you beat it.But you do get bonus cards while playing the game you find little hidden cards while exploring levels then after playing that level you can go to menu screen and see bonus items like COMIC covers and cutscene CG movies ,interviews with cast etc.CHEATS: Infinite Ammo: While Playing Press back button to 'Journal Screen' then press,L-R-L-X-Y-X-X-Y-Y-X-Y-X-X-Y-Y.if code entered correctly screen will flash..Infinite Spell Energy: At Journal screen press, L-R-R-L-L-R-R-L-Y-Y...screen will flash if entered correctly .GOOD LUCK.

Best Deals for Constantine - Xbox

I think people are being unfair to this game. Ok, maybe it's not anything unique but still a fun couple of days. I personally finished the game in 2days, unfortunately the game does not have any replay value. There's only the main campaign to play. If they had put a survival mode, or just plain old fun 'kill all demons' mode, it'd be a lot fun to play. Graphics are good, sound effects are ok. I had thought hard and long before buying this game but I'm glad I bought it in the end but keep in mind this game is not 'halo' material, you will not see milestone advancements in this game, just think of it as a 2-3days good time.

Honest reviews on Constantine - Xbox

The game is based on the Constantine movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed despite some sketchy plot points (that aren't present in the game because of a more straightforward and in some ways better storyline) and I even found myself liking Keanu's performance, despite taking some of the loathesome personality away from the character. Anyway, here's my game review.

The story is pretty good, and like I said, really scores for a much more understandable and straightforward interpretation of the new Constantine world first created in the movie. Don't get me wrong, it's not a perfect story, and you should read a couple of reviews for the game or the movie to the gist of the plot so that you know what's going on, which makes for a motivating game experience. I'll give you a little backstory, most of which is not included in the game: John Constantine is a gruff, selfish chain-smoker who was born with True Sight, the ability to see demons and angels in the "half-breed" human forms (and in the game, he has infrared vision that can see supernatural marks) which eventually drove him to insanity and suicide. Since suicide is a form of murder, John went to Hell...where he stayed for all of two minutes before he somehow escaped back to Earth. However, when John returned to Earth, I'm guessing he knew that his second death would net him an eternity in Hell, as the hole out would be "boarded up", so to speak. So he uses his second chance to hunt down and "deport" demons back to Hell, hoping to win enough favor with God to be accepted into Heaven upon his second death. While this element of his story is not vital to the game, it's still worth knowing if you want a reason for why this guy risks his life to kill every rogue demon he can. Before we go any further, the "Hollywood Christianity" doctrine that underlies the game and movie is that God and the devil made a wager for the souls of all mankind; they could only use half-breeds angels and demons to influence or tempt humans to good or bad. The first few minutes of the second level (the first prologue level netting you your Witch's Curse pistols) you find a rogue band of demons tearing through a parking lot behind a building. It is made clear by John's exclamations that demons on earth (in other words, direct contact with the human world and not just an influence) is a direct violation of the pact between God and the devil. Throughout the game you will seek to uncover Hell's true intentions and take down legions of demons in order to save all of mankind.

Along the way, you will acquire new weapons ("Primary and Secondary Artifacts"), spells, and power-ups. Though these will be outlined in your game manual (if you got one with the game), I'll give you some tips and stuff for in-game situations. The first guns you get are powerful, medium firing rate pistols known as Witch's Curse(s). These tend to be some of the more fun guns to shoot, but they tend to run out of ammo after a certain point in the game, and it takes a while to get any more, so conserve the use of this gun only when you need some a mode of attack that is neither slow nor weak, but squarely in the middle. Now I'm not sure the exact order that you get the rest of the weapons in, so I'll just continue with the Holy Shotgun. Ok, it's the stupidest name possible, but it is a good gun. Though inherently slow, it does better damage per shot than any weapon (except maybe the Flamethrower) and is good for blasting things back to give yourself some room. The next weapon is the Purger, a crossbow. This weapon should only be used against the flying demons you'll face, called Seplavites. The Purger can kill Seplavites in one hit, but is next to useless against other demons, as it has an extremely low fire rate which translates to a lot of misses, and it takes way too many hits to kill a demon with it. One of my favorites is the Dragon's Breath Flamethrower. It fires a steady stream of flames, gradually annihilating anything in its line of fire, and the ammo is depleted proportionate to how long you hold the fire button. This weapon shouldn't be used much because ammo is sparse and you need to save them for the Behemoth Demons, whose only weakness is their three tiny heads. Their heads being small, they're extremely hard to hit with other weapons like the Crucifier, Witch's Curse pistols, the Holy Shotgun, etc., so use the Flamethrower, which can hit all three at once with its broad range of fire and doesn't waste all the other weapons' ammo on misses (and even the large required amount of hits to down a Behemoth). It's perfectl suited for this demon, so conserve your ammo (there's not much ammo for the Flamethrower) for fights with this demon. The last gun we'll look at is the most unique: the Crucifier. It's basically a machine gun: super fast and accurate. You can recover the ammo (they're nails) by running over it and picking it off (using your True Sight ability, you can see the nails). This weapon has various upgrades, like Flaming Nails and Exploding Nails (which are absolutely killer against the first of two bosses you fight on the last level) others, but they seem to come and go, almost like they kicked in when they wanted to.

Your secondary Artifacts, which can be toggled with the white button, come in this order. You start out with a couple Holy Water Bombs, which are grenades that when thrown, burn off a half-breed demon's human skin and makes them much more vulnerable. It also pisses them off and they start shooting black energy at you which isnt' terribly harmful, but is still potent. Then you get your most useful secondary item, the reusable (if you haven't lost it inside of a prison cell or a pit in Hell or something) Amityville Screech Beetle, which when thrown near enough to a demon, which stun for about five seconds. This is most useful against the Impaler demons, huge hulking brutes whose only weakness is a green spot on their back. Stun them with the Beetle and then go behind them, get a good aim with any weapon except maybe a Flamethrower and fire; it will instantly kill them. The last and most powerful secondary Artifact is the Moses Shroud, which is like a cloth, which when you light it in fire will explode and kill all the demons in sight. It only works one time for all three or so you get throughout the game, so use them wisely. I've never tried it against any bosses, so you may want to see how that works.

As for your third mode of attack, spells, you get probably your best one first. It's fast, it kicks butt, and it doesn't use all that much force energy. It's Storm Crow, which is basically calling down lightning on most every demon in sight. It's good for annihilating a horde of demons closing in. The Exorcism spell can only be used on possessed (dead) humans and rips the demon from its human shell, where it crawls on the floor, merely a legless demon who crawls around everywhere. You can then stomp it to death with the A button or blast with a projectile blast. This spell makes it way easier to kill a possessor because it takes like 5 or 6 hits in rapid succession to kill a possessed human, whereas it takes 1 or 2 when they have been exorcised. The other spell I got was Demon Leech, which I only used against a boss whose only weakness was the Leech spell. Somehow, I checked every corner I found for spells, power-ups, etc. and yet I missed like 3 of 6 or so spells, so unfortunately I can't tell you how the more complex and interesting spells work cause I haven't played with them yet (hope to buy it soon and get those spells). The spells are initiated by hitting Y after you've switched to the spell you want using the right and left D-Pad controls and hitting the button sequence correctly within the time limit. You get it off in time, the spell goes and fun ensues.

Although I've already gone over some of it, the gameplay isn't terribly varied or orignal, but it does have a ton of button options, unlike most other games I've seen. You can blow past enemies with your guns, stun, weaken, or annnihilate them with secondary artifacts, use spells, punch demons out with your holy brass knuckles, or just bash them over the head with any of your equipped weapons. You can use True Sight to find clues and see in the prevalent darkness, and hit A to move stuff out of your way or to navigate through an area. There are even some extra stuff in the controls, like clicking a thumbstick (at least for one control scheme) makes John do a 180 degree turn in the blink of an eye, which is useful for a quick relatiation against backstabbing enemies. There are two control schemes, Occult and Demonic, and I don't remember which one I picked, but the one that assigned your True Sight ability to the X button is much easier and better. There are three difficulty levels: Easy, Medium (or is it Normal?) and Hard. I beat Medium in about 20 hours or so. I would advise doing that one or Hard, because Easy is welll...easy as crap.

The graphics and atmosphere are spectular, in a spooky, gruesome, dark and freaky way. The cutscene graphics were very, very good and John looks even better in gameplay than cutscenes. There are tons of amounts of darkness in this game, making you feel somewhat vulnerable the whole way through. Poltergeist events such as basketballs bouncing idly by, and manhole covers exploding in front of you are just some of the creepy things that add to the atmosphere of the unknown. The level designs are generally very good, with lots of puzzles and obstacles laid out in them.

The voice-acting was dominated by Keanu Reeves impressionists, who got off some good lines, but most of which were Keanu's in the first place. The impersonators sound a bit over the top sometimes, but no biggie there. As for the rest of sound, the music seemed to consist a light tympony (percussion) sequence whenever enemies appeared and maybe a horn or two to indicate peril, so I didn't really notice the soundtrack. The sound effects were pretty good, a sort of explosive sound for Witch's Curse, a chucking kind of sound for your Shotgun, a rattatatat for your Crucifier, etc. and the environmental sounds that seemed to just, well, sound were creepy and mood inducing.

I would advise at least a rental to see if this game is for you. Good four-star game that didn't get a five star mainly because of somewhat lackluster approach to fighting (gets repetitive sometimes). However, the multiple things you can do: fight, solve multiple and varied puzzles, move stuff to avoid obstacles make this an overall fun experience. Rock on, John!

This has to be one of the most boring, pointless games ever created. The graphics are almost as poorly done as the basic mechanics of the game. You wander aimlessly around in a world of blocky graphics and stupid lurching monsters, looking for ridiculous clues and puddles of water, yes I said puddles of water. You have a special sight ability which makes the graphics even fuzzier and blocky than without it. I have no idea why they would bother with a camera angle that either has you at truly third person or a few inches closer so you can look over the main character's shoulder. What is the point of that? In fact, what is the point of this game...oh, that's right, they released a movie so of course, there should be a game. Trust me, rent this game before you spend your money...it's not even worth the rental fee.
