Most of the games for X-box PS2 etc are designed for YOUNG people who have great hand/ eye coordination and lightning fast reflexes. This is fine but I am 56 years old and cannot play most of these games (at least not very well). But THIS ONE I am not only playing but I'm doing very well at it. It is loads of fun. I don't even play Real Golf but I still enjoy this game a lot. It is expensive but worth it. I don't compete online in ANY Games as these young folks would kill me!

Having bought and played the EA Sports Tiger Woods series since it came out I have a pretty good idea of what is to be expected. I loved TW 2004 and played that game until the disc starting smoking and caught on fire. For all the people who want to buy a golf game and don't have TW 2004 you should buy this game especially since you can buy 2005 for thirty bucks now. If you have 2004 and also have Xbox live you should buy 2005 since the online play is great. If you don't have Xbox live I will break down what I like and dislike about the game.

What I like about TW 2005 -

First of all the basic controls are the same and gameplay is almost exactly the same they did add Tiger vision but I will get back to that later. The graphics are similar and the courses are similar. There are more golfers to choose from and I am very excited that Natalie Gulbis is added again this year because she is beautiful and she adds alot to the LPGA tour. There are better clothes this year, and more sponsorships

are available in your PGA tour season. Also they added Tiger-proofing, I haven't really gotten really in depth into that so I can't say to much about it but it looks pretty cool.

What I dislike about TW 2005 -

There is basically one thing. The game is too easy. This is where the Tiger-vision comes into play there is no skill in putting now. They should make the Legends harder. The PGA tour season is too easy. The first tournament I finished 70 strokes ahead of the next person. Other than this I really love this game. I do have one minor complaint. Some of the "fictional" courses have illegal holes. If it is humanly impossible to reach the green in four stokes on a par five that is an illegal hole. I think there is one hole that is a par four and its impossible to reach the green in three strokes too. These are stupid complaints though.

Basically I bought this game because I love the EA Sports Tiger Woods series, if you do as well.....Hurry and buy this game!!

Pros: the more customization of players and courses.

New courses such as Colonial, Troon North Monument, Turnberry. Edgewood at Tahoe.

Cons: Dropped great courses (unless I somehow can't find them), including Torrey Pines, Pinehurst, Bethpage, Royal Birkdale, Spyglass Hill, Sahalee, TPC Scottsdale, and Poppy Hills.

Game play is pretty much idential to preveious years.

Equipment manufacturers OK = Taylor Made, Ping, Cleveland, Callaway, Nike, and this year Dunlop. Also can buy shafts. But where is the big boy of the golf ball market Titleist?

I'm all for adding improvements in the area of customization for players, but not at the expense of courses to play on. I suggest that if you already have 2004, don't bother buying 2005. If you don't have 2004, 2005 might be a good purchase.

Honest reviews on Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 - Xbox

Tiger Woods 2005 is a lot of fun. I had the 2003 version and this was a big upgrade. The game would be ever funner if it wasn't quite so easy.It is kind of stupid too play in a PGA Tour event and shoot 85 under par while the second place guy is at -6.

I've enjoyed playing Tiger Woods for the last 2 years on the XBox. I've been excited for the last year knowing that we will finally be able to play online via XBox Live with the 2005 version.

I just confirmed that EA Sports has made this version so that only 2 people, that's right, only TWO can play online at a time. What happened to being able to play 3 other people (4 at a time) online???

Links (from Microsoft) has been out for a year now and one of the best things about that game is that you can have a foursome, just like regular golf.

Tiger Woods 2005 has all the bells and whistles to make a great looking game, however, one of the key selling points for me was being able to play with 4 people online. There are many of us who have been playing Links for the last year waiting for the new Tiger Woods version, and now we are not going to purchase it. It looks like we'll be staying with Links for another year.

Too bad EA Sports, you really dropped the ball on this one.

I would give this controller 5 stars but there's one place that hurts it...but I'll go over the good things first. The controller feels good when you hold and it won't slip out of your hands because of the material it's made out of. The LB,RB, LT and RT are very responsive when pressed. The bad things about the controller are the combat buttons on the back of the controller and the A,X,Y and B buttons. For me, the combat buttons felt like a pain to press on the back of the controller. The placement just didn't feel right. The A,X,Y and B buttons...oh man, they stick when pressed. This will hurt you in any kind of game you play especially if the game requires a lot of button spamming. I did fix this problem by taking the controller apart and made the holes for the A,X,Y and B buttons bigger. I wouldn't suggest you do this because it would void your warranty.

It's a decent controller. For the money it's a really good controller. If you don't sit to far from your console this controller works well. My kid loves it so that's all that matters.

Honest reviews on Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Pro GamePad Controller for Xbox 360

THE PROS

So I've had this controller since November 2012. Me and my brother use CONSISTENTLY with our shooters so I know that it can take normal wear. This was a surprise to me since Mad Catz made this and they have a bad reputation for making cheap 3rd party controllers that give out after 2 months. I've had this for almost half a year and it is barely showing wear on the left stick.

The grips on the controller are awesome. I usually play for 2-3 hours straight during each session and my hands have yet to sweat and slip off during some intense gaming. However, don't pick at the edges like me or you will see faster deterioration at the edges.

The bumpers are also better placed at a better angle which makes it easier, and faster, to press.

THE CONS

One problem I had with this was the mic jack. I use a Turtle Beach 12x with this controller and I found out that they don't like each other. Every time I shoot, the controller will rumble, and the result will be horrible static sound being sent to anyone who is listening to me. Thanks to the feature in my Turtle Beach, I can hear what they hear and it sounds bad. I eventually found the problem through forums and apparently the mic wiring in this controller is not so good (as with most other wired controllers, according to the forums). The answer to this was that I turn off the rumbling, which fixed the audio mic problem but now I miss my rumbling. If you don't use a mic, then you're good.

The LED lights in this controller are awesome but they are LED so be prepared to be annoyed if you're playing in a dark room. When the sticks are in neutral position, they're cool. However, the moment I move them, light will shine straight into my eye. So that's another problem if you play in a dark room.

The left and right triggers are more digital than analog. I play Forza and I've had a hard time slowly accelerating. With a MS controller, you wont have any problems. So if you are a racing fanatic, this is not the controller for you. If you buy it for racing games, be prepared to train your fingers to be more gentle.

I have own two of these controllers, they will never stop working if you use them right and be carefull, i dropped them 5 times a week, and they hand in there for 8 months avrg,

The buttons:

Everything is Ok, but they could have improved the mapped buttons on the back, you will get used to it, I used these specially for ghost recon, and i dont think they're the best choice if you play other games, because mostly the Dpad are useless in FPS, and your left back button can only map dpad arrows, but i will always recommend this ones. they can handle the hard work, they can be dropped, and you can rely on them for unleveleing your ghost recon experience

Off the Record is a reimagining of DR2 with Frank as the main character.

After being proclaimed a hero, Frank soon allows the fame and fortune to go to his head. The fame soon fades and Frank is left as a has-been, rotting on his couch all day. He decides that the best way to get back in the lime light is by going on the TV show Terror is Reality (where contestants compete by killing zombies). An explosion at the TV set releases the zombies and soon infects the city.

Off the Record is pretty much the same games DR2. The plot is different, due to Frank and Chuck different motivations. What makes the game great is that it feels like a direct sequel to the original Dead Rising. The overall feel of the game is a lot more comedic and self-centered this time around.

The new sandbox mode is also a welcome addition. There is no time limit and you are free to roam and complete challenges as you please. It's a nice break from the timed story mode and a great way to rack up PP and cash.

The photo mode also returns! The weapon system from DR2 works really well with the old photo mode. It feels great setting up a giant zombie massacre and raking up PP by taking photos. It feels a lot more rewarding pulling off difficult stunts when you can get bonus PP by capturing it on film.

Overall, Off the Record is an amazing game and a love letter to fans of Frank West. If you don't like the other Dead Rising games you won't magically like this one. However, if you enjoy the series and are looking for another reason to return to Fortune City you can't go wrong with Off the Record.

As a fan of Dead Rising since the first game, the idea of a version of Dead Rising 2 with the original hero, freelance photojournalist Frank West (he's covered wars, y'kno*shot*) was very enticing. But after finishing Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, I feel like it just wasn't a good fit for Frank.

The game is mostly a rehashed version of DR2, with some new psychopaths, survivors, and weapons. Obviously, the dialog is slightly different with a new lead character, but without spoiling too much, the storyline doesn't really diverge until near the end. Then, it gets a lot more interesting.

Ultimately, though, Frank just doesn't really fit as well into this story as Chuck Greene did. This version of Frank doesn't feel like the real thing from Dead Rising 1 or Case West, which is odd since Off the Record and Case West have the same writer. His reactions are less believable, and he spews far too many (grudgingly amusing) one-liners for my taste. He still has the same great voice actor, Terence J. Rotolo, but fans who buy this game just for Frank may be in for a bit of a letdown.

Frank's camera returns as another method of earning experience points and Achievements, but to be honest, I often forgot that it was there. Using it is still fun, though, and the interface has been jazzed up a little since DR1. The sidequest where you can photograph special PP stickers hidden all over the city remains an obscure annoyance.

With that out of the way, Off the Record improves a lot on the DR formula, without changing it. You no longer have to choose missions from a realtime menu, there are checkpoints, and grappling with the series' notoriously annoying transceiver isn't an issue since Frank receives a hands-free headset right off the bat.

The other main addition is Infinity Mode, where you can cast off the chains of the story mode and annoying survivors for special challenges scattered around Fortune City. Unfortunately, my initial taste of Infinity Mode was bitter, because my level was too low to complete challenges. Coming back to it after completing the story mode is more enjoyable, however. The challenges are a fun and occasionally bawdy (like "Stiff Back", where oh, I'll let you find out) way of testing your zombie slaughtering skills. It does drag a bit between challenges where you have to kill a fixed number of zombies to unlock the next one.

After waiting four years for Dead Rising to come out of its sequel limbo, I thought that I couldn't get enough of the series, but after Off the Record, I think that Capcom Vancouver should perhaps let the world wait a spell before unleashing the zombie horde yet again, and make Dead Rising 3 something really special.

Best Deals for Dead Rising 2: Off the Record - Xbox 360

"Dead Rising 2: off the record" (DR2:OTR) Brings back Frank into the fray! Although he is.. hum... bigger in this installment, his movements certainly are not affected. The main storyline is similar to that of Dead Rising 2 (DR2) but tweaked a little to suit Frank's background as well as his trusty camera, bringing back the ability to take pictures. Also in this game are new combo cards, outfits, weapons and a new area not available on the previous one. The "Sandbox" mode is superb in here you can freely roam to most in-game locations and complete several different challenges without worrying about time constraints. Just like in DR2, DR2:OTR has an online multi-player mode.

My opinion:

DR2:OTR is far better than the first DR and DR2, so if buying one of them this is the version to get as it offers more.

I play the PC version using a X-Box 360 controller.

This game has a lot of adult content: gore, violence, plenty of sexual references so it is definitely not suited for the Squeamish.

Honest reviews on Dead Rising 2: Off the Record - Xbox 360

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record follows up on Frank West, the protagonist of the original Dead Rising.

The premise is still the same, a limited amount of time to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and survivors to rescue. Weapons can be combined to create powerful new ones.

My favourite part is the sandbox mode, a free-roaming unlimited time mode where you can complete challenges and explore Fortune City.

There is online multi-player, but no local multi-play.

Anyone who hates on this game because it's too much like the first Dead Rising 2, are just retarded for not doing a little homework about their purchase. It was never advertised as a brand new game, just same story with a new protagonist. The new additions are fun and make it worth playing again. All new achievement list is great. Towards the end of the game things change some. The challenges on sandbox mode are a lot of fun too. All around a really good, solid game.

Be aware that this bundle comes with only composite video, so you'll need to invest in either an HDMI or component cables to get high-definition output. The Kinect also doesn't come with a clip, so if you don't have anything to put it on except the television itself, you'll need a clip-on stand.

I have already lost five pounds and I have been doing this since last Friday. It will have you sore but it is well worth it. I do the cardio portion of it once I get home from work. It is only 20-30 minutes but it makes you feel like you've done hours at the gym. Good luck and hopefully this helps.

I am a 45 year old woman who is out of shape I bought this because i did not want to join a gym. The workouts are tough but worth it. It comes with a controller, something that is missing in description. The kinect is great and really motivates you after seeing your outline or as i call it my blob on screen. After doing my assessment and picking number of days to workout an exercise program was designed for me. I made it through my first week. My husband who runs half marathons tried it out and he felt the burn. He was sceptical about my purchasing it. This is helping both of us getting our workouts in during frigid winter weather.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 S 4GB with Kinect Nike+ Bundle

I got the Xbox Kinect on the suggestion of a friend as a way to improve my reaction time and coordination. The Nike+ bundle was a nice bonus. I have worked out regularly with it since I got it. It isn't perfect on tracking my movement, but for the most part, it is a good alternative for working out on my own schedule. Very convenient to run down to the family room whenever I have a few minutes.

I am a 53 year old woman, so maybe not the target market for Xbox. My adult sons were very surprised when I got it. But it is useful for my needs and I have recommended it to friends.

Downforce Reviews

This game could be considered the Daytona USA of F1 racing; it's decidedly arcadey, slightly over-the-top, and not for everyone, but nonetheless still rather fun.

Graphically the game is alright... the cars and tracks are rendered quite nicely and details like air streaming off the rear spoiler, damaged parts wobbling and smoking and brake rotors glowing add some ambience, but overall nothing really jumps out and grabs you other than the impressive movie-style crash sequences. Sound is also average, nothing really stellar but it won't make your ears bleed. The high-pitched engine whine may annoy your dog, though.

The tracks offered in the game are quite challenging from a technical point of view, but often become amazingly frustrating due to the cars. As the game's name suggests these cars are highly dependent on downforce for their control, so when parts get damaged or knocked off they become increasingly harder to get around the corners without whacking into something.

Adding more to the frustration is that AI cars have no problems with shoving you around (possibly a product of the league's "no rules" format?), so if you try to pass on a corner you can expect them to try and wreck you. Speaking of wrecks, don't expect your spotter to warn you of them ahead of time... he usually only cuts in to complement you on passes or tell you to speed up if you're trailing the pack. Those flaws aside, the game does have its bright spots. There's enough variety in the tracks to test your skills, and while the cars are largely similar in performance each one has a special trait that can be used to your advantage (Jackhammer's car has very low drag which gives it an edge in acceleration, Hiroo's car has superior braking, and so on).

If you liked Daytona USA, this game will probably appeal to you right off. If you believe that all racing games must be like Gran Turismo, then don't bother. Everyone else, rent first and see if it suits your tastes.

A pretty cool racing game with noticably awesome crashes, and cool tracks. While the level of car and track detail is low, it blases at 60 FPS and provides wholesome crashes. Fun to play with a friend as well.

This is a bad game!

It is way too easy too crash, and you explode into a thousand pieces when you do...

I recommend Burnout or Burnout2 over this game.

I've been waiting and waiting to buy a 360 until this holiday season in hopes that the package was good. Unfortunately I'm stuck with Kung Fu Panda, and Lego Indiana Jones. While they are fun, I much would have rather had Forza 2 and Marvell:UA. However, I did buy it on the Monday of Thanksgiving and got The Last Remnant and a 4000pt Xbox card with it from Amazon. Great Deal!!

If you are trying to decide which Xbox 360 system to buy, there are a couple things to consider: Hard Drive, connectivity, and network.

For me, new owner, the first thing was the large 120gb HDD. I'm a moderately hardcore gamer, and don't want to have to think twice about space left on my hard drive. However, now there is the 60gb version which should be great for most people. But if you look at the price of the 120gb HDD alone ($150), the Elite is a much better deal.

The HDMI output was the second major deciding factor for me as I wanted the best possible picture from my games and movies. Plus my TV has more HDMI ports than component cable connections.

Also, right now the Xbox Live network is by far the strongest online gaming network. The others might and probably will catch up in the future, but right now Xbox live is the top online gaming network. So being able to play online with family and friends right now was important. Not many people have a PS3, which means that A: play games offline, or online by yourself; or B: make new online friends in a small gaming network. I chose the Xbox.

As a side note: I assumed that since the new chips, Jasper, have been around for a month that the new holiday bundles would have had them, but they didn't. Mine was manufactured in April, which is the Falcon.

If you are unsure about the Elite compared to the 60gb Pro, compare your choices here:

Enjoy your new Xbox360!!

I just received my X-box. It was an upgrade from the old x-box I have and still have it. I played the X-box 360 for one day,ONE DAY and already had the 3 red ring of death, WTF!!!! I should bought the playstation 3. The old X-box is still going strong.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Elite Console 120GB with 2 Bonus Games

Background: I bought the XBox Elite as a Christmas present for myself and got a great deal through Amazon (in the end I paid less than I would for a Used Wii). It takes me a while to get through games and I own a lot of open world/sandbox games so that means they'll pile up. I have a Playstation 2 and there are still a few games I'm playing for that system, but a majority of my time lately has been on the XBox.

Review: Currently I've played one Original Xbox game, three 360 games and I'm currently on my fourth and fifth. The Original Xbox game was Fable: The Lost Chapters and it was great. I wish I could have had the option to install it to the hard drive as the load times drove me crazy. Also, after a few weeks, the game would lock up at least once per play through and I would have to start over from my last save. No discernible reason for it, it just got stuck (most of the time in Oakvale, other times after a couple hours, once or twice after only a few minutes). I enjoyed the game, but one would think the 360 would have been able to run the original games better.

The 360 games were as follows: Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, which I had played individually on the PS2 and enjoyed the improved graphics and new content. The Simpsons Game, which was a fun game and a great fit for the show. And Dead Rising, which I bought because of the "use anything as a weapon", but was apprehensive about playing because I don't normally play that kind of genre. That game was also a lot of fun and I even managed to unlock the MegaBlaster...after four hours of driving back and forth in the parking garage. Currently, I'm playing Burnout Paradise and Crackdown and jumping over buildings in both. Whee! Surprisingly I haven't come across a game (except Fable) that warrants an install on the hard drive as the load times aren't that big a deal.

After playing those games, I feel ready to review this system. The system is well-rounded with a lot of games in store and online (Oh, yeah. I also bought Monkey Island through their arcade and played that. Love that series.). I can play my own soundtrack during games with music that I downloaded to my hard drive. I enjoy the Xbox Marketplace where I can see all the game trailers and play demos of games before I buy them. The achievements are a nice bonus that I've (so far) been able to resist the urge to go crazy with. There has been no red ring to make me cry yet so I don't have that problem influencing my review. And finally, I have spent many hours making Data DVDs with all my video files as they play on my Xbox! How cool is that.

This is a great system and definitely one I'd recommend. I'll get a Wii and PS3 slim eventually (and hang on to my PS2), but so far there are only three or four games out that I want so I can wait. Microsoft did a great job on this console and I'm glad I went with theirs first. However, if I eventually get that red ring, be on the lookout for my follow-up review with lots of grammatical and spelling errors where I claim Microsoft dropped the ball and all hail the SonY. :P

I bought this as an early gift for my adult daughter and her boyfriend since they won't be here for Christmas ... and they say it's fantastic! Don't ask me what HDMI means or why you need a 120 GB hard drive to play video games?? This bundle was the best package and price deal I could find and I shopped at least four other local stores, plus Walmart, Costco, Best Buy and Game Stop online. I also purchased an extra wireless controller thru Amazon (it only comes with one ... go figure) because the price was competitive and it was also available in the same color as the base unit. I would still suggest rechecking all those stores as many are having great Christmas sales with the economy like it is. Still finding it hard to believe game systems cost as much as a home PC these days!

I am on my 3rd xbox, yes, 3rd. And my 3rd xbox just broke today. The first ones were the red rings of death. With this one I put a game in and it says "to play this disc put it in an xbox 360 console". I found out that it's a dvd drive failure. My warranty is up, so that means I either pay the $120 to $Microsoft$ and have them repair it, or throw this thing in the garbage and buy a ps3 some day. I can't believe a company could legally put out such an expensive product that continuously fails. There is no way I'm getting a 4th xbox 360, mostly because I will have to pay for it this time. The reason I give this 2 stars instead of 1 is because it's the most enjoyable system to me. It has better games and a better online service than the other systems in my opinion, and you can watch netflix on it. So I will truly miss this console, good bye xbox 360.

I got this headset to replace a cheap Plantronics Gamecom headset that broke because it was made of cheap plastic. Since it works for PC also, and it's $30 cheaper than the regular ones, I bought the PS3-labeled ones.

The first thing to say about these are that they are VERY comfortable. Just as I expected. With a cheap $10 headset, your ears will hurt, but with these, you get comfort. There is no need for resizing as there is a retractable strap that "conforms" to your head.

As for sound quality, also very stellar. Definitely better than the iPod earbuds I was using as a backup after my old headset broke, haha. Music sounds fantastic, I get a crisp sound even when blaring metal at maximum volume. (Probably not good for my ears... hmm...) For games it's a definite upgrade. A game like BF3 sounds very phenomenal.

The mic is retractable and bendable, doesn't get in the way. For the sound quality, I'd say "decent." It sounds good when actively I'm talking but it does pick up background noise. It DOES pick up much less background noise then my old headset, but there's only so much you can cancel out without a little fuzzy thing on the end. I just took the fuzzy thing from my 360 mic and it fits fine on that, works like a charm. But, most games use push-to-talk anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, the headset comes with an RCA audio converter... thing... should you choose to use it for your console. Also a 2.5mm cord to use for 360, and a USB in-line volume control.

Now, to talk about my main problem with the headset the cord length. It is rather short, and I have to plug it into the front panel of my computer instead of the back. Even then, I don't have freedom to move in my seat I can barely tilt my head right. Now, you CAN use the included USB in-line cord (which is used for the consoles, I'm assuming). Plug in the 3.5mm jacks into it, then the USB into the computer. It's frickin' long, so I can plug it into the back of the computer and be comfortable. One thing, though, audio coming into and out of it while using the in-line sounds horrible. There is a constant static-y buzz and it makes the mic sound like trash. So, I'm stuck with the real short cord. I angled my monitor and scooted my chair over a bit, and it's okay, but... meh. I was thinking about moving my tower, but, seems like a huge hassle for one headset, right?

It sucks because the one thing I really liked about the Plantronics Gamecom was the in-line volume control, and how long the cord was.

So, overall, fantastic sound quality and comfort, but short cable.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My gaming world just improved tremendously. I absolutely love this gaming headset. I had no idea what I was missing until I started using it. I use it for the PS3 and the sound effects are incredible.

I play multiplayer shooting games online and this headset helps out immensely. I can hear people when they are close to me. I can hear people climbing ladders or opening doors from quite a far distance. Grenades and gunfire sound so realistic.

I normally just use an ordinary (one-ear) Bluetooth headset and I've never really had a problem with it but switching to this was absolutely worth it. It makes a world of difference. People sound much clearer to me and people tell me I sound really good as well.

I love the fact that you can manually adjust the game and voice volumes separately. This is a very useful feature and the mute button is handy as well. I'm so glad that a mic is built into the headset as well and with it being retractable, that's a nice feature as well. The headset itself is pretty comfortable as well. I would've liked a bit of adjust-ability to make it a bit looser but even without that it's still manageable for several hours at a time.

The only feature that hasn't done anything for me is the "LiveMix". I've tried all 4 setting and I don't hear a difference. There are supposed to be 4 different options: Off, Low which reduces the game sound by 5db when your teammates are talking, Medium which reduce the game sound by 15db and High which reduces the games sound by 25db. This technology is supposed to help you control how much of the game sound you want to hear balanced over the voice communication. I just don't hear any difference but I'm perfectly happy with any setting since I'm able to adjust the voice and game sounds as I see fit.

Of course some people would prefer a wireless headset but the cord is plenty long enough for me. My PS3 sits on one wall and I can set on the opposite side of the room and still have plenty of room. Not having to charge a headset is a plus for me because most of my Bluetooth headsets would need recharged before I was done for the night. I no longer have that problem.

I would highly recommend this gaming headset.

Best Deals for SteelSeries Siberia V2 Cross-Platform Gaming Headset for Xbox 360

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having used my reliable Sony MDR-V600s for years and years, I was somewhat reluctant to try anything else. Having tried the Siberia v2 now for every game from Call of Duty to Dead Space, I have to say my Sony headphones no longer cut it.

The Siberia's best feature is a built-in microphone. This microphone made my voice sound a lot clearer and sharper when using voice chat or playing voice-commanded games such as EndWar. It worked far better than the bluetooth headset I was using. Better yet is the ability to position the microphone away from your mouth if necessary. Being retractable was another plus. One less thing to keep track of.

These headphones offer separate volume controls for both the game and the voice chat, so it is easy to balance the two in order to hear both. Fortunately the Siberia does not lack for sound quality. Explosions and other deep bass effects are conveyed without drowning out other sounds. The treble is crisp without being too sharp. This is a welcome effect when playing first-person shooters, where there is often a concentration of both.

Overall, I was really impressed with the comfort and quality of the Siberia v2. Offering both a quality microphone and excellent sound reproduction has made these headphones a must have whenever I play.

Honestly, I have not played with them on a lot as they do a great job of blocking out external noise. I usually am playing with others in the house so I need to hear in case of an alarm, etc. Great quality but a little expensive.

Every year EA makes a few additions to the gameplay although it has basically been kept the same as NHL 11. They have found a successful formula in keeping the best of the old and adding a few new things. This year we now have the helmet coming off, hitting a player to send him in the bench area, contacts with the goalie (you can hit the goalie, he can hit you), goalie fights which is really cool, shattered glass and the nets can be moved more easily. EA Sports claim there is a better physical engine and I have to say they're right. This is especially true when playing Be a Pro/Legend where you can notice some improvements when it comes to control, hitting other players and shooting. EA have always been about realism and this year it's a little better than the last. However it doesn't "look" any different from what I've experienced it's very much the same graphics. The one big change is in Be a Pro when it comes to gameplay. Now unlike previous titles you can't spend 45 minutes on the ice. Before you could play pretty much as long as you wanted by pressing the B button and taking another player's place on the Ice. Instead of doing that you "simulate" until your next shift on the ice. Now the amount of play your player gets depends on the line you're on. Basically the big new thing in NHL 12 is that you can now play as select legends in whatever team you want. Say what you will playing as those legends is a cool option that should've been available before this year, I'm glad this addition was made.

The Be a Pro mode now offers the possibility of developing in the CHL before being drafted to the NHL which is a nice option and enhance realism factor. Plus there are all time records you can beat which makes it all the more challenging. As far as I know NHL 12 also marks the first time you can play as a female in Be a Pro. Also you have much more choices for the player faces this time around. Be a Legend is basically like Be a Pro where you take the role of a legend and earn career achievements. It's a fun addition to be able to play as legends and its one thing I've wanted EA to add to the franchise for years. The legends you can play as are Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Steve Yzerman, Chris Chelios , Gordie Howe, Ray Bourque, Patrick Roy, Jeremy Roenick and Borj Salming . You each have to unlock them except Roenick which is already playable and each of those legends have a degree you need to reach ex: Legend, Legend 2, Pro and so on while in Be a Pro. As far as I can tell, Be a GM has not changed much they basically kept it the same as the previous edition. There are some slight new additions but basically its the same thing with the same options. The 2011 Winter Classic match between the Washington Capitals and the Pittsburgh Penguins is also playable and you also have the option of playing with the two teams of your choice. It's a fun novelty, you play in a snowy environment that looks nice (and the arena/crowd area looks great) but otherwise I don't think its one I will play too often, except maybe to show some friends.

Due to recent changes in the NHL the Atlanta Trashers aren't part of this game and the Winnipeg Jets have been added. I noticed that you have the classic Jets jersey but not the new logo, instead you a plain NHL jersey. You can bet that EA Sports will put them in the game as a form of downloadable content sometime soon (hopefully). On a side note, there is no booklet with this game for some reason. The controls are displayed during the waiting screens like NHL 11.

If you thought that NHL 12 would see a whole new gameplay, and major changes it's obviously not happening. Maybe for a future title but this is basically the same as the previous edition with a few changes and things added to it. It does what it sets out to do which is improving on the last one and I think it did just that. I particularly like the legends (an all legends team anyone?) and the fact that Be a Pro offers up to four years in the CHL before being drafted. If you like the new additions I listed and being able to play as legends appeals to you NHL 12 is a great buy, if not you may be just fine with one of the past editions but for the fans who buy those yearly editions each year will want to play it. I won't say it's the best or my favorite title in the series but NHL 12 is a good game overall that will please hockey fans. 4/5

THIS is what happens when there's no competition.

Let's see, what's broken about NHL 12?

1. Your AI D will still go behind the net, hug the boards, and wait to turn the puck over.

2. Goalie fights in EASHL are a complete waste. I play RW and really REALLY enjoy sitting around doing nothing for 5 minutes because of a goalie fight (it's the RW who goes into the penalty box).

3. I love how if I'm standing near the goalie, I seemingly HAVE to fight him if he so chooses.

4. The hitting was toned down to the point where you can absolutely crush someone, and they will often just shrug you off.

5. The puck still loves to fall off your stick for no reason, and you still fall down at points that are ridiculous.

6. I am the leading scorer in the league in Be A Pro, and guess what ... no power play time. I can not press B and play on the PP. Yeah, that seems to make sense. Oh yeah, you can sit and watch the shootout, too, because apparently your sixth defenseman is far more dangerous than you and your 4 points-per-game average.

7. Boosts are still there. And I still hate them. I either pay a bunch of money to have my online character better, or have to suffer through Be A Pro.

8. Players online clearly know exactly what attributes to use, as per usual. So, at this point in time, they skate so much faster than the AI D, that they skate consistently right past them. And I'm sure they'll find more exploits and cheats.

And the following needs to be addressed NOW!!!

9. FIX THE MATCHING SYSTEM! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of ONE person ruining a Lobby game because they did not get the position they wanted. Let us choose the position BEFORE. How hard is this? Because, apparently, its too difficult for someone to pick a position or leave.

Thanks EA! I'm SURE NHL 13' will be better! (the common refrain of the EA damned).

This game is unacceptably bad.

I'm a very big fan of EA's NHL series. I have religious played each game released in the series since NHL 08, and I've seen the series come a long way in that time. The forward progress of the series, and, indeed, the quality of the experience as a whole, has come to a crashing halt with this year's rendition. This game has barely more content than its predecessor, and, worse, it plays in highly unrealistic fashion and is riddled with bugs.

The major addition touted by the EA NHL team for this year's rendition--indeed, it was the main feature in the game's Internet and television advertisements--was Legend Mode, which allows one to play as a legendary player (i.e. Patrick Roy, Jeremy Roenick, etc.). This is far less fun than it sounds. This mode is essentially Be a Pro--a mode present since NHL 09--played with a highly-rated player. In other words, literally the only difference between this mode and standard Be a Pro is that your player will start out with excellent attributes, something which makes the experience immensely easy. This game mode no doubt took almost no work by the developers, the necessary changes being limited to simply creating these players within the game and making them selectable. As for the legends themselves, you initially only have access to Jeremy Roenick; the other legends are unlockable only by playing the Be a Pro or Be a Legend modes and achieving certain milestones, something that can take a long while. Indeed, it takes such a long time to unlock such players as Lemieux and Gretzky that you'll likely have become tired of the game mode by the time you have access to them. All told, this mode is not anything special; it's ridiculous that it was the main addition in this year's rendition.

On that subject, the changes to Be a Pro do not work properly. This year's rendition gives you a more real-time experience, with your shifts being played in real time rather than time passing at an accelerated rate. Your time off the ice can either be simulated or watched from the bench; in the latter case, it likewise occurs in real time. This leads to some significant issues. For one, it's not out of the question for you to sit on the bench for five or six minutes at a time, regardless of if you're the team's top scorer. Too, you'll run into maddening situations in which instead of being put on the ice with the empty net so as to help your team score a goal--as before, this occurs even if you're the top scorer on your team, or even in the league--you're dumped onto the ice with one second left in the game. This happens on a regular basis. Further asinine quirks in Be a Pro include being traded for peanuts to another team even if you've scored 200 points in a season, and not being played on the power play--regardless of your stats and abilities--unless you've put sufficient points into offensive awareness, a statistic that is of extremely marginal value and not at all a good use of your hard-earned experience points. I'd call this year's Be a Pro substantially less enjoyable than it was in NHL 11.

Be a GM, too, suffers from substantial issues, issues even greater than those found in prior renditions of the game. First, the AI makes a horrendous GM, often failing to re-sign effective players who are not asking for much money; worse, it's not uncommon to see the AI inexplicably waive a player who is leading the league in scoring. Too, the players make asinine choices during negotiations; many of them ask for ludicrously long contracts at ridiculous price, leading the UFA list to often feature numerous top-tier players whom neither the AI GM nor the player GM are willing to take at the players` asking prices. Like Be a Pro mode, Be a GM mode has taken a step backward from last year's version.

The general experience on the ice has, too, taken a step backwards. Player AI--both for your opponent and for your unselected players--is horrid. Players often make nonsensical decisions, for example failing to keep proper position on a 2-on-1 or hanging around in ridiculous spots in the offensive and defensive zones. The degree to which players can maintain control of the puck is ludicrous, as is the agility possessed by every player; players can routinely make turns that would, in real life, result in spectacular wipe-outs. Also excessive is passing accuracy; an average fourth-liner can be expected to have the pass accuracy of a real-life superstar. The main addition to on-ice play in NHL 12, goaltender collision, is a disaster. It is very common to see goaltender interference penalties called when no contact was made, and it is very possible for a human goaltender to initiate contact with a player outside the crease and draw a penalty. Worse, flagrant goaltender interference is often not called. It is not uncommon to see a goaltender deliberately crushed without a penalty being called, a play which almost invariably results in the team with the puck scoring into the empty net. Another, more minor addition to the game is tie-ups by defenders. Essentially, defenders may tie up forwards in front of the net to prevent them from making deflections or banging in loose pucks--at least, this was the intent of the developers, because the function actually does not at all function properly. It is, instead, almost utterly useless; offensive players can disengage from a tie-up with ridiculous ease, and taking oneself out of the play in this manner as a defenseman almost invariably decreases one's ability to protect the net. Just about the only practical use of this feature lies in a defender's ability to tie up with a forward and drag him into a goalie; this will result in a goaltender interference penalty. Also of issue are such matters as deflections being utterly useless, shots being overly accurate, and checking being often pitifully useless. The new player animations are more lifelike and well-tuned than those found in earlier games of the series, but this is about all that NHL 12 has going for it over previous renditions. As with the two previous categories, general on-ice play has, in sum, taken a step backward.

EASHL--online team play--one of the biggest draws of the series, is a disaster. Every forward is capable of feats unmatched by real NHL players. Each forward with a legend card is a mix of the best qualities of the league's best-ever players: the passing ability of Gretzky, the balance of Lemieux, the speed of Bure, the shot of Hull, and the stickhandling and agility of Datsyuk. Meanwhile, defenders have roughly the ability level of second-line defenseman in today's NHL. This results in infuriatingly-imbalanced gameplay that bears little similarity to that found in the NHL. Instead of being rewarded for cycling the puck in the offensive zone, forwards will find the most success in hogging the puck low in the zone and repeatedly attempting a cross-crease pass until such inevitably succeeds. There are, as well, certain moves on the AI goalies that have a ridiculously high percentage of success. Too, defenders often will have an immensely difficult time of impeding the forwards at all; forwards can stop, twirl or turn on a dime and maintain the puck through numerous pokechecks--there is no stick-on-stick collision, and the defender's stick will also often sweep directly through the puck without dislodging it from the forward's stick--sticklifting will nearly always result in the forward maintaining possession of the puck, and hits will often simply encounter an almost literal force field in existence around the forward; the forward will, indeed, often be completely unfazed. This results in defenders generally being at the mercy of the forwards. The issues with this game mode could be described at much greater length, but there's no use; it works just as well to note that this it is horrendously imbalanced and neither fun nor realistic... unless, that is, you like playing as a puck-hogging forward in arcade style.

It also bears mention that the EA NHL team has shown little or no interest in solving these issues. Their level of communication with the community is horrendous, and little work has been put into improving the game's myriad issues. In sum, it feels as if this game was rushed and was released in incomplete state, yet with no plans of supporting it such that the issues inherent to the release version would be eventually fixed. Indeed, no premium whatsoever was, either, put on making the game exceptional in any way.

I advise against purchasing this game. If you have NHL 11, stick with that. NHL 12 is likely to provide you with more frustration than fun, and it does not justify its price tag.

Honest reviews on NHL 12 - Xbox 360

Like the title says, it's a great and fluent game but EA Sports is yet again stealing our money by releasing these sports games every year and still making the presentation horrible.

The teams always come out to the same intro and with the same animation.

The commentators still say the same things.

My Be a Pro goalie always goes through the same routines and animations.

The AI can be anticipated (meaning a skater will stop near the boards for someone to come and trip him up).

It's sad, really. Overall, it's a good game but after your second game played in Be a Pro you will have seen and heard everything at least twice already. Come on, EA. Don't be idiots.

Been playing the NHL franchise for well over 20 years and this year's version is great once again, online team play in the EASHL is awesome. Many small improvements over last year's game but when combined make for a decent impact. Not sure EA shouldn't start selling these franchise games as $35 updates, but NHL 12 is definitely the best hockey game on the video game market (maybe the only hockey game).

Admittedly, this game does not have the best third-person-shooter mechanics out there. You can vault over some obstacles and not others, picking up ammo by walking near it doesn't always pick everything up, the cover system is clunky and mostly useless, etc. The graphics are also very, very poorly optimized at the time of this review. I have an NVidia 680M (quite a powerful card, able to play Battlefield 3 completely maxed out at 45-60FPS), and if I set all the graphics settings on and to maximum on this game, the FPS crawls at under 20FPS. Even turning off the extra graphic features like the super-sampling (the buggiest setting on the game), ambient occlusion, etc, my game will still only run at 60FPS sometimes, while it drops down to as low as 30FPS sometimes.

So with all of those complaints, why did I still rate the game at 4 stars? Simple, it's good fun played with friends. The gameplay is simple enough, you just are trying to get from point A to point B, while fending off zombies, clearing them out, holding down your position while they "siege" you, and taking out boss enemies at the ends of levels sometimes. While most of the enemies are dumb, shambling zombies, you'll fight a lot smarter and more dangerous enemies as you go along. There is a large enough selection of weapons to make up your load-out (sniper rifle, automatic rifle/shotgun, pistol), as well as a variety of grenades and mines, to keep things fresh and let you experiment with your style as well.

Be sure to try the game out in single player too though if you want to experience the awesome "x-ray bullet cam" shots that are kind of the Sniper series trademark. Very cool, very fun.

In closing, awesome game, difficult, fun with friends, but naturally lacking in some aspects. Pick it up!

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army delivers what it says on the box: you fight an army of Nazi zombies. I primarily enjoyed this game in co-op mode with friends, in particular the siege aspect that occurs in many parts of the game that require you to think about how you want to use the resources at hand (trip mines, grenades, etc) in order to survive. The rifles feel sufficiently different from each other that there's bound to be a favorite for everyone, and the situations are varied enough not to feel old.

What I didn't enjoy as much were the boss fights, which felt a bit too staged and didn't fit well with the rest of the game. As I said earlier, the siege part was where it shines--the game is called Sniper Elite, after all--but several of the boss fights felt far too hectic and were an exercise in frustration.

I find this service much better than Pandora and Spotifly. The Music Pass has the ability to discover good music like Pandora and has a library that rivals Spotifly. I actually find the social networking part of Spotifly very annoying. All of the sudden, I'm paranoid if I'm listening to music that my peers would judge... "No, I swear my kid was listening to Rafi, not me!"

Anyways, if you like to use your Xbox 360 to stream music to your TV, have a Windows Phone, or use your Windows 8 PC to stream music, this service can't be beat (NOTE: Xbox Music isn't available on Windows 7 or Windows Phone 7 at time of writing).

I find the "reviewer" who complains that it cost money is missing the point. If you don't want ads, you're going to have to pay for music. This also gives people the ability to have access to a massive music library without spending a lot of money. It's also a great option for people who don't want to pirate (and more convenient).

Update 10/1/13: I guess Microsoft is opening up Xbox Music to IOS and to Andriod so it's now going to be on all devices (nothing for Mac OS yet). They're also reporting that they have 10 million more songs than Spotify or Rido (both boast to have about a 20 million song library). I just wish there was a client version you could use with Windows 7 you can only stream it via a web browser.

XBox Music Pass continues the excellent Zune service and at a much lower price.

Great thing about this card: it fits in a stocking, and is a great item for a kid without a credit card, or anyone who doesn't want to input cc info to sign up for a service.

Another great thing: since it's a prepaid card, you don't have to worry that it's going to roll itself over into a periodic charge on your cc.

Missing from the old Zune service is 10 DRM-unlocked downloads per month. I had Zune Pass for a couple years, and found this was not that big a deal. Remembering to use the 10 downloads was an issue I only got to it about 1/5 of the time. And not all publishers/artists gave MS rights to include their downloadable material in the 10-a-month program, so availability was hit or miss.

Note the 12-month card includes unlimited streaming for 6 months, then 10 hr/mo streaming for the next 6 months. You can stream *or* download to PC, Tablet, or Phone. Downloading to your PC, Tablet is not streaming; syncing to your phone is not streaming; playing music via XBox is streaming only. Once the recipient is sure they want XBox Music on a subscription basis (and once they have a cc to submit) the subscription is available in 1 or 12 month increments, with no limits to streaming hrs/month.

Best Deals for 12 Month Xbox Music Pass

Even with my old Zune Pass still active, this stands as a great deal in of itself. If you own a Windows Phone or Windows 8 device, this is a much better service than using Spotify or Pandora on your device. First, it syncs in with your Microsoft account so you can manage your subscription along with your other Windows 8 and XBOX purchases/subscriptions (such as XBOX LIVE) under a single account. I have found it annoying to have to have a separate account for these other services. Next up, Xbox Music doesn't require you to login with Facebook unlike Spotify. For those who are anti-social (or just hate sharing your music interests with the world) Xbox Music has you covered. Also Xbox Music includes unlimited music video streaming so you can listen to Gangnam Style and transition to the music video soon after. It might not be a killer decision maker but could be icing to decide between the values of each service.

Before you buy, Xbox Music lets you try a six month free trial that includes unlimited streaming of music to get a feel of the service. Please Note: If you cancel your subscription (as with any music subscription service such as Spotify or Rhapsody), you lose the ability to store tracks for offline play. Your service is also downgraded to streaming only when you do so. If you do not care about ownership of the music, then please disregard this note.

I rented this game for a few days and I enjoyed it. I own Vigilante 8, and I love it so I thought this game would be cool too. And it was, except it was so much like the first one that it was much too simple and the only thing different was the car and arena selections. When I returned the game I sat down and played the first Vigilante 8 and enjoyed it much more than the second. I guess it's just me because I'm used to the first one so much. I recommend this game for anyone to rent because it is an excellent car-combat game, just like it's prequel. Try them both, you'll have a great time.

This game is so phat, that I would play for hours.Only I can't, becuase it would freeze after around half an hour. But that didn't stop me from having much fun. I suggest that you buy it if love blowing things up in a garbage truck or a volkswagon (your choise). Once you get used to the control you will have a lot of fun. And if you were wondering, theres no peds to run over. :)
