OK, the game itself isn't that bad. Despite the cheesy graphics and goofy storyline, the music is actually OK.

My bad review is on the instrument peripherals.

The airstrike drums are completely frustrating and UNfun. They don't register hits half the time. You're not actually playing drums, you're striking the air with the drumsticks. The IR sensor has to be exactly aligned with the drum sensors and you have to "shake" it to get it to register the hit. It definitely does not feel like you're really playing drums. Do yourself a favor, use a Rock Band drum kit.

And then the "real guitar." It really is technically a real guitar, that you can use to play this game. But it's mostly a gimmick-don't expect to actually learn how to play guitar. This is a rhythm game just like guitar hero, except you're using a real guitar with strings instead of a plastic guitar with buttons.

The only addition is the option to play "power chords". The game uses a whopping TWO power chords-one uses two fingers and one uses one finger-and the fingering is exactly the same no matter where it's played on the fretboard. A monkey can learn how to do that.

Actually playing the song with the power chord option, I did not find to be very much fun either.

If you want to learn real guitar skills I suggest you get Rock Band 3 and buy the pro guitar peripheral.

I don't know if I'd call this a review, but I created this simply because the only two other current reviews I think are a bit unfair. Before moving on, do NOT buy the band version/drum set. This is probably the worst idea for a rhythm game of all time. Hitting air? Really? I haven't tried, but supposedly you're able to use a GH or RB drum set. I also have not tried the singing portion, but I can't see how it could be any better or more lacking than the other popular franchises out there.

Moving on to the guitar portion, the game opens up (WITH the six string guitar.) I am almost ashamed to say :P that I haven't even gone through the story mode (yet?). When I was playing this more, I kept doing Quick Play to up my difficulty level since Expert (Expert+ on drums) is nothing difficult on the other rhythm games out there. This being said, I'm only comfortable at the middle (3rd) difficulty with Chord mode activated. There are five difficulty levels also with the option of "Chord Mode."

Where this game excels is the element of challenge it brings as it takes some major time and practice. I can comfortably say that it would take at least months to get good scores on chord mode at the highest difficulty. There are more than two variations of "power chords" that one reviewer mentioned. An example of a note you would play (with Chord mode activated) is you with a finger on the 1st string for green and second finger on the 2nd string for red while you strum the 2nd and 3rd string simultaneously. This probably sounds a bit confusing, and it's even more so when playing. This is just challenging playing at a higher difficulty level while progressing through a song. A good note is that (at least I know of in Quick Play) you're not able to "Fail" a song where the song simply quits playing and you're forced to replay. Play bad...don't play at all...regardless you're able to complete the song without having to constantly retry like the less-recent rhythm titles.

With the combination of notes and chords, this also adds two other "colors" being utilized in play. The last color you expect on the guitar is orange which is true for a single note, but when you add chords into the picture you're forced to go even further right towards the head. This adds almost a second green and red (following to the right of orange). I have only played the songs that are unlocked by default without going through the story mode, but I am surprisingly happy with these. This game does not copy sings off of each other like the GH and RB songs. This game's soundtrack used its songs before RB/GH released them as DLC (downloadable content.) These are originals (not covers) and surprise you with how well they were selected.

The six string guitar can also be used for the Guitar Hero (GH) and Rock Band (RB) games as well which adds difficulty as finger positioning for notes is more spaced out. All in all, this game is cheap and is for people looking for a challenge or people looking for a feel of an actual guitar. This game won't teach you how to play, but will get you acquainted and a nice feel for if you ever were to move up and play the real deal. Buy this now low-priced game for a challenge and only if you're getting the six-string guitar as well. Thanks for reading my wall.

I had been holding off on this game but I saw it on sale much cheaper somewhere else (sorry Amazon) so I picked it up. It's got some different songs than RB (Rock Band)/GH (Guitar Hero) so I figured I'd give it a whirl. And it said it was compatible with RB/GH controllers, so win-win right?

Pros: some good songs not available on other games. Appears to have a storyline (so far feels a little like GH: warriors of rock).

Cons: gameplay isnt that great it's different from what I'm used to. hitting the notes is touchier so it's telling me I'm missing when I don't feel like i am notes are smaller so calibration is essential, and their calibration system is lacking.

BOTTOM LINE: if you are really into music games and have patience, or you know someone who hasn't gotten into RB/GH, then this may work if its cheap enough.

Save a couple of cool songs...

The playability is horrible, the compatibility with guitars is annoying, the remainder of the songs suck...

Never again,,, just another disk for the shelf...

Off the Record is a reimagining of DR2 with Frank as the main character.

After being proclaimed a hero, Frank soon allows the fame and fortune to go to his head. The fame soon fades and Frank is left as a has-been, rotting on his couch all day. He decides that the best way to get back in the lime light is by going on the TV show Terror is Reality (where contestants compete by killing zombies). An explosion at the TV set releases the zombies and soon infects the city.

Off the Record is pretty much the same games DR2. The plot is different, due to Frank and Chuck different motivations. What makes the game great is that it feels like a direct sequel to the original Dead Rising. The overall feel of the game is a lot more comedic and self-centered this time around.

The new sandbox mode is also a welcome addition. There is no time limit and you are free to roam and complete challenges as you please. It's a nice break from the timed story mode and a great way to rack up PP and cash.

The photo mode also returns! The weapon system from DR2 works really well with the old photo mode. It feels great setting up a giant zombie massacre and raking up PP by taking photos. It feels a lot more rewarding pulling off difficult stunts when you can get bonus PP by capturing it on film.

Overall, Off the Record is an amazing game and a love letter to fans of Frank West. If you don't like the other Dead Rising games you won't magically like this one. However, if you enjoy the series and are looking for another reason to return to Fortune City you can't go wrong with Off the Record.

As a fan of Dead Rising since the first game, the idea of a version of Dead Rising 2 with the original hero, freelance photojournalist Frank West (he's covered wars, y'kno*shot*) was very enticing. But after finishing Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, I feel like it just wasn't a good fit for Frank.

The game is mostly a rehashed version of DR2, with some new psychopaths, survivors, and weapons. Obviously, the dialog is slightly different with a new lead character, but without spoiling too much, the storyline doesn't really diverge until near the end. Then, it gets a lot more interesting.

Ultimately, though, Frank just doesn't really fit as well into this story as Chuck Greene did. This version of Frank doesn't feel like the real thing from Dead Rising 1 or Case West, which is odd since Off the Record and Case West have the same writer. His reactions are less believable, and he spews far too many (grudgingly amusing) one-liners for my taste. He still has the same great voice actor, Terence J. Rotolo, but fans who buy this game just for Frank may be in for a bit of a letdown.

Frank's camera returns as another method of earning experience points and Achievements, but to be honest, I often forgot that it was there. Using it is still fun, though, and the interface has been jazzed up a little since DR1. The sidequest where you can photograph special PP stickers hidden all over the city remains an obscure annoyance.

With that out of the way, Off the Record improves a lot on the DR formula, without changing it. You no longer have to choose missions from a realtime menu, there are checkpoints, and grappling with the series' notoriously annoying transceiver isn't an issue since Frank receives a hands-free headset right off the bat.

The other main addition is Infinity Mode, where you can cast off the chains of the story mode and annoying survivors for special challenges scattered around Fortune City. Unfortunately, my initial taste of Infinity Mode was bitter, because my level was too low to complete challenges. Coming back to it after completing the story mode is more enjoyable, however. The challenges are a fun and occasionally bawdy (like "Stiff Back", where oh, I'll let you find out) way of testing your zombie slaughtering skills. It does drag a bit between challenges where you have to kill a fixed number of zombies to unlock the next one.

After waiting four years for Dead Rising to come out of its sequel limbo, I thought that I couldn't get enough of the series, but after Off the Record, I think that Capcom Vancouver should perhaps let the world wait a spell before unleashing the zombie horde yet again, and make Dead Rising 3 something really special.

"Dead Rising 2: off the record" (DR2:OTR) Brings back Frank into the fray! Although he is.. hum... bigger in this installment, his movements certainly are not affected. The main storyline is similar to that of Dead Rising 2 (DR2) but tweaked a little to suit Frank's background as well as his trusty camera, bringing back the ability to take pictures. Also in this game are new combo cards, outfits, weapons and a new area not available on the previous one. The "Sandbox" mode is superb in here you can freely roam to most in-game locations and complete several different challenges without worrying about time constraints. Just like in DR2, DR2:OTR has an online multi-player mode.

My opinion:

DR2:OTR is far better than the first DR and DR2, so if buying one of them this is the version to get as it offers more.

I play the PC version using a X-Box 360 controller.

This game has a lot of adult content: gore, violence, plenty of sexual references so it is definitely not suited for the Squeamish.

Honest reviews on Dead Rising 2: Off the Record - Xbox 360

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record follows up on Frank West, the protagonist of the original Dead Rising.

The premise is still the same, a limited amount of time to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and survivors to rescue. Weapons can be combined to create powerful new ones.

My favourite part is the sandbox mode, a free-roaming unlimited time mode where you can complete challenges and explore Fortune City.

There is online multi-player, but no local multi-play.

Anyone who hates on this game because it's too much like the first Dead Rising 2, are just retarded for not doing a little homework about their purchase. It was never advertised as a brand new game, just same story with a new protagonist. The new additions are fun and make it worth playing again. All new achievement list is great. Towards the end of the game things change some. The challenges on sandbox mode are a lot of fun too. All around a really good, solid game.

It has Wrestlers on it. That's it. That's my -onlycomplaint. A superficial aesthetic gripe.

The buttons work and feel good, the Pad can be made to emulate the Left or Right stick or the D-Pad. (Left Stick mode works best with PC games. Just a heads up)

The feel of it kinda reminds me of the classic Sega Genesis and Saturn 6-Button controllers that were the best for fighting and platform games...

If you want a controller for some retro games on your PC or Xbox 360, get this thing. It's exactly what you need. Even if it has two cartoonishly overdeveloped goons mugging at you the whole time.

Works perfect with SSFIV, MK, KoF, and MvC.

This gamepad is very effective and much better than the other madcatz (SFXTekken) gamepad, which is a bit smaller... making it a little uncomfortable for adult gamers.

The artwork on this gamepad is a little "funky" but that affects gameplay in no way.

Definitely recommended.

Review of Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon

There are so many things about this game that make it stupid. Luckily, I only rented it (and returned it the same night *lol*). I feel sorry for anyone who had to buy it. This has got to be the most disapointing game ever for the mighty XBOX. Here's why:

1. The gameplay: it's just uninteresting! You walk around as Bruce Lee from a side view, A SIDE VIEW. You kill people with 2 lame moves (punch and kick) and collect the coins that come after they die. It's so lame and dull, it's LAUGHABLE! It's way to easy, and beating up the people is so dull. 2 lame moves, and all the bad guys look the same. You advance and keep collecting coins. An ametuer gamer could beat this in 1 night!...

2. The graphics = horrible! Oh my goodness, Bruce Lee looks like a girl in tights (which is such an insult to his memory) and all the villains look exactly the same (red ninjas). Oh, and the coins that you get our the size of Bruce's head. The 2 lame moves don't even look real either. I played this game ad beat 3 levels in 10 minutes. I basily fell asleep in my chair. When I woke up, I returned it immediatly!

3. The reputation it tried to take. I mean, come on: Bruce Lee. What kind of people created this game; to insult his memory; this game is HORRIBLE! On the cover, it even went as far as to say it was BETTER than DOA3! I own DOA3, and it is a hundred million times better than this junk.

I hope I've proved to you why u shouldn't buy this game. It is so... easy to beat and so boring at that. I'd rather watch grass grow. There are so many better games to buy for it's price:... If it was about 5 bucks, I might counsider buying it. But for everything else I can get for that price, I guess I'll have to pass...*lol*

Guys, I don't know what you all are smoking, but get off of it quick. This game is horrible, from the opening cinema to the end of the game, if you even bother to suffer through the first three unispired levels of it. The controls are terrible, i could press a kick button sometimes and i wouldnt even get a response. The targeting system is wack, most of the time you'll spend sorting through targets that are 20 feet away, when you have one beating the holy bejeezus out of you right in front of your face. Which brings me to the amazingly cheap A.I. *if it can even be called intelligence* who will frustrate you to no extent by following the same cheap patterns. One behind, one in front, and while you're attempting to hit the enemy in front of you *who is usually ducking!!* the one behind is pummeling you unmercifully. When you try to turn around *which will sometimes take a couple seconds* to try defend yourself, the enemy who was doing the pummeling now runs away like a twelve year old school girl, leaving your back open for more brutal punishment from the other enemy. The graphics are ps1 worthy at best *not even dreamcast standard* doesn't even begin to tap into what xbox can do. I can't bear to even give this game a point *even though I have to give it one star, which I'm not even going to count* because I am a diehard bruce fan, and ronin games is doing nothing but tarnishing his amazing legend by releasing such a crappy, and obviously rushed game. Sorry, but I had to bring it straight and be blunt. This game doesn't even deserve a rental.

Best Deals for Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon

i am a huge bruce lee fan and when i saw this game at a flea market i just had to have it. i bought the game hoping that it would be worth the $ i paid for it, but unfortunately i was wrong. the first couple of days that you play it are ok, cause you're like "man i'm kicking everybodys butt!!!" but after the 3rd or 4th level it gets boring. i mean really boring. all you do is run a little and you get ambushed by 3-6 guys at one time, which isnt all that bad because it isnt that hard to beat them, but the thing is that after you defeat 1 or 2 another 1 comes out of nowhere. the controls for this game stunk because you could only hit one person at a time, while you're getting your butt whopped. i'm telling you DON'T BUY THIS!!!!! if you really want to play it go out and rent it and you will see how bad it is.

Honest reviews on Bruce Lee: Quest of the Dragon

This game isn't all that bad. The graphics are perfect. The character looks just like bruce lee. The major and only problem with this game is the fighting. It's horrible. It makes Bruce look like an entry level fighter, not an dynamic martial arts master. His kicks and punches are not direct like they are in his movies. They should have put more work into this. I'll say if they would have put at least another year into this game I guarantee it would have been the bomb.

The first thing I thought of after 10 minutes of playing this game was playing "Urban Champion" on my old Nintendo system. For those of you who had the pleasure of NEVER playing "Urban Champion", it consisted of you standing on the left-hand side of the screen and punching a guy who stood on the right-hand side of the screen. Granted with this game you get some decent graphics and you can walk around and beat-up people, but beyond that this game hasn't really progressed beyond the 1980s "beat-em-up" games. It's a 2002 Bruce Lee version of "Urban Champion". Basically, you walk around and fight people using Bruce Lee's own fighting style. They went to great lengths to make the fighting styles authentic using motion capture from a guy who studied under Lee for his moves and a bunch of other experts for the bad guys, so the moves and graphics are pretty sweet -but the combos aren't the easiest to learn. But hey, it turns out you don't really need them to beat the game anyway(which should only take a day or so even for the most novice of gamers). A huge disapointment.

The adapter I received is not the same one as the one seen in the picture or the other video review. My adapter has no thread to screw onto the TV's port and it's not big enough to fit on there in the first place.

It doesn't fit any of my TV's or the RF modulator seen in the video. It's not too difficult to remove the end of the adapter, but I shouldn't have to. This wasn't what I was expecting.

My grandmother had an Atari 2600 that I used to play when I came over as a kid. She decided she was going to throw it out but I told her I would take it instead. The only problem was that connector would not hook up to my modern flat screen. I searched the web for something to let me play my old games again and found this. At first I was skeptical but finally broke down and bought it. Turns out it works great! The picture of my Atari is crystal clear on my TV. Definitely a purchase that should be made for anyone with an old video game system, such as the Atari.

This is a single player critical review for people that are fans of the Saints Row series of games. I know the game is called Saints Row IV but I will call it Saints Row 3.5 since it does not feel like a whole new game.

A quick little bit of info here... Saints Row IV started off as DLC before THQ shut down, it was originally meant to be the final big DLC add-on (us older gamers would call it an "Expansion" pack) to Saints Row 3. THQ went bankrupt and Volition was bought up by Deep Silver. They took the final DLC, the core game, and stretched it out into a full game. I also wish I could give it a score of 3.5 but it feels good enough to go with 4 out of 5 for the moment.

So to be clear, this game is still Saints Row 3. Same city, same vehicles (less of them though), same graphics, same game engine. Just certain things added or taken away.

This game is absurdly fun and funny. So let me break it down as spoiler free as possible:

Game engine: The exact same as Saints Row 3.

Graphics and Models: Deep Silver took some vehicles and assets from the previous games and reworked them to the wonderful level of detail seen in the First Saints Row game, mainly the vehicles. They have a much higher level of fit and finish than even Saints Row 2 had. BUT, there are fewer vehicles in this game than in any of the other games. Boats are completely gone, so waterways are absolutely empty. Only 2-3 Airplanes remain and there is no civilian air traffic, though once you see the plot, it kind of makes sense to be that way as opposed to the same lack of boat and air traffic from SR3. The animation and characters are much nicer looking and seem to have had a once over by Quality Control. So all round the models are much nicer.

Sound and Music: The sound effects are pretty much the same from SR3. The music on the other hand is absolutely great, they have just about everything, and lots of big name songs. The voice acting is wonderful, even Nolan North (of Drake, Deadpool and seemingly every male video game character ever made, fame) lends his voice to the player character list, along with quite a few name brand voice and film actors as other characters... The roster is rather impressive and makes the game all the more fun.

Story: The story in this game is much more fun and involving than SR3 was. You will need to play all the previous Saints Row games to understand the back stories, banter, and in-jokes of many of the characters in this game. Plenty of "OMG!" moments, and lots of laughs. There is some great character development and banter that was sorely missing from SR3. Though at times it feels the game/writers spent too much time watching cyberpunk and action movies from the 90s and early 2000s instead of creating something entirely new. It was great fun, and worth seeing all the parodies of other games and movies, but at times the parodies feel more like blatant rip-offs. Also, the Choice/RPG style options are pretty much entirely gone after the first few minutes of the game and are there for comical reasons instead of giving you any rewards or boosts of any type. Example: In SR3 you could choose to destroy a building for a respect boost or keep the building for a cash boost, save someone or let someone die, and so on.

Player Customization: The level of visual player customization is the same as SR3 and nowhere near as amazing as the player character customization from SR2. Though carried over from SR3 is the selectable player upgrades/leveling system.

Vehicle Customization: The same as SR3 but with quite a few more parts and accessories for some vehicles, though you still cannot customize "special" vehicles, planes, helicopters, and VOTLs. Though for a game with cars and car customization it severely lacks in vehicle based missions compared to previous games as most of the time you are running, jumping, shooting, and fighting with super powers, instead of driving or riding shotgun like previous games.

Weapon Customization: Weapons have non-visual upgrades now instead of the visual upgrades like from SR3 (when you upgrade a weapon, it does not change its base appearance with things likes scopes or suppressors and such that SR3 had). Though you can change the "skin" of the weapon to look like other types of weapons and most have 1-3 selectable paint jobs, but you cannot add or remove parts of a weapon.

Other Customizations: Cribs/player bases are completely gone so absolutely none there. Gang customization is the same as SR3.

Game World: Still in Steelport, or a simulation of so to speak, exact same map size and most every location remains the same as SR3 just add some cyber bits here and there. Also, during the game it is perpetually Night/dawn/dusk/dark and there is no day cycle until you completely beat the game. The city doesn't really feel as "alive" as SR2 did, but when you figure out the plot it makes a bit more sense to be that way.

Super Powers: While they are fun, and have lots of upgrades, it ends up feeling too much like the game "Prototype" and not enough like Saints Row. Most of the game vehicles become pretty much pointless when you can leap, climb, fly, and run better than nearly any vehicle in the game rather early on.

Controls: It controls nicely and has the exact same layout as SR3, though with the super powers, some buttons now have secondary functions when you hold them or tap them.

Game play: You will go everywhere from space, to text adventures, to 2D fighters, to top down pixel battles, to platforming, robot fights, and more. The variation keeps things interesting, at least on a first play through. There is even a massive list of cheat codes built into the game as well to make the game even more fun, crazy, hard, or easy. So it works if you are a casual gamer or one of the hardcore challenging types of players. There are optional side missions that are basically just activity completions and rewards. There are no activities left over after doing the character "side quests" so at that point the end game just becomes a run around and collect random stuff/points you missed kind of thing. You can replay activities for money or better medals, but There is still no main mission or special character mission replay options... We had it in SR2 why can't it be in SR3.5?

Re-play Value: As with most the Saints Row and open world games, it is pretty high in the re-play department. With the amount of character and vehicle customization, as well as upgrades, it is worth revisiting to see what can be changed or done differently on another play-through. Not to mention the amount of in-jokes, Easter eggs, and other things that you may have missed.

Overall Opinion: This game is much more fun than SR3 was, but still not as much fun and time consuming as SR2 is for me. It has more polish than SR3 did, and I hope the future of Saints Row gets much bigger than Steelport or Stilwater combined as the map just feels small compared to many other games out there, especially when you have super powers. My biggest gripe is that it needs more side activities and player customization. In SR2 most side activities had 6-12 levels to them, whereas SR 3.5 has about 2-4 levels or so to each activity (seriously, we want more Genki and mayhem levels!). They still have not added back in the optional service vehicle activities and rewards (taxi cab, tow truck, ambulance, fire truck, police car, police helicopter, and so on that SR2 had). Still no "Fuzz", "Septic Avenger", "Demo Derby" and so on. There is a distinct lack of vehicle races as well. If you are going to give us all these customizable vehicles; give us something to do with them.

---------------------------------

BOTTOM LINE:

---------------------------------

It is a stupidly fun game, but many times felt too much like the game "Prototype" and not enough like Saints Row. The absurdity has been turned up to 11.5 and had the knob broken off, so don't buy this game thinking it will have an award winning plot or basis in reality in any way what-so-ever. (And that can be a good thing as games are meant to be fun to play. That is why they are called games and not movies.) The vehicles and player models seem much more polished over SR3 with the wonderful detail that was put into the first Saints Row game. The voice acting makes it worth replaying, as the different player character voices have different things to say throughout each play-through. Goofing around and being a completionist and rabid customizer will take around 20-30+ hours depending on how much of a "collector" you are. Throw in Co-op craziness and extend that time quite a bit more. (playing Telekinesis catch with a car or baddie, racing, cat and mouse, Vs, and so on.) It is just a fun and silly sand-box game and not for people that take things too seriously, and if you have a twisted sense of humor, make sure this game ends up in your collection.

I say wait till it is more "expansion pack" priced, under $35 before getting it as I just could not get over the feeling it was an expansion and not a whole new game, since super powers were already introduced in SR3 add on content. Plus with the amount of DLC planned for this game, even if you get it cheap, you will likely end up paying full price or more anyway once Deep Silver finishes nickel-and-diming people for DLC for the rest of this game.

After the amazing spectacle that was Saints Row The Third, I was incredibly excited to see Volition take the series a step further into the purely ludicrous. Unfortunately, Saints Row IV simply can't shake the fact that it started as a DLC add-on to its predecessor and as a result fails to deliver a memorable experience of its own.

As the story begins, the Saints are now in the White House with your titular main character taking the role of Commander in Chief. Not soon thereafter aliens invade and place the Saints in a Matrix-style computer simulation where most of the game takes place. This simulation is a virtual recreation of Steelport from SR3, and IV disappointingly brings nothing new to the table by way of setting. Not only is it the exact same layout from before, the entirety of the game takes place at night. Steelport didn't have a ton of personality to begin with, and shrouding the city in darkness certainly doesn't help that fact.

One of the primary selling points for Saints Row IV is the superpowers that you incrementally learn through the course of the game. It doesn't take long at all before you're sprinting faster than a race car, scaling buildings in a single bound, and shooting fireballs from your fingertips. The whole thing feels ripped right out of Prototype and Crackdown (complete with orbs scattered throughout the city to improve your abilities), and it's appropriately fun to fling yourself through the Steelport skyline at 100mph. However, the superpowers quickly become a double-edged sword.

As soon as you get your increased mobility, there is absolutely no reason to drive a car again. In fact, there's hardly a reason to touch the ground again. The entire bottom-half of the world is forgotten as you bound from one objective to the other. So on top of the uninteresting setting shrouded in darkness, the game actively encourages you to only traverse the even less interesting building tops throughout your travels.

It seems like Volition realized this, so the game is peppered with constant and arbitrary reasons for you to lose your superpowers. These seem forced (because they are), and it's unfortunate that better reasons couldn't be found to keep your feet on the ground.

After all the powers run their course, however, Saints Row IV doesn't have much else to say. The story is needlessly stretched to full game length by repetitive missions and an over-emphasis on side-mission activities. What story there is doesn't hold water, either. I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh often while playing SR IV, but it chooses to focus far too heavily on waxing nostalgic over providing a satisfying narrative. Everything follows a predictable path, and what should have been an epic clash to send off the series with a bang ends up being a redundant slog that presents its finale with a whimper.

The humor in Saints Row has always been one of its strongest suits, but even here things have taken a downturn. It seems like Volition has forgotten the difference between parody and reference, and as a result falls into the Matt Hazard trap of simply recreating tired video game tropes and then calling them out. It's the developers wanting to have their cake and eat it too, exploiting lazy design shortcuts (an overabundance of fetch quests comes to mind) and hoping to get away with it by pointing out how bad it is. This problem is pushed to its derivative limits through your spaceship and crew, which is a shameless rip off of the entire structure of Mass Effect 2 without even trying to be funny about it.

This is all irritating on its own, but the myriad of bugs and glitches were enough to send me over the edge. Throughout my playthrough, I encountered no less than 4 game breaking bugs which caused be to restart from a checkpoint or reboot the console entirely. From scripted events not triggering to NPC characters getting stuck in the game world to full on crashes, the entire experience felt sloppy and unstable. And no, the fact that it's set in a computer simulation is not an adequate excuse.

In the end, I feel that Saints Row IV would have been better staying as the DLC pack "Enter the Dominatrix" for a budget price. The recycled content, lackluster story and half-hearted execution make it impossible to recommend at the full $60 price point, even for die hard Saints Row fans.

Best Deals for Saints Row IV

First of all, I'd like to point out that I have played all the games in the Saints Row series. It started off as a copy cat to GTA. Then, it became less serious than GTA and added more humor. This fourth one moves away from the regular gang versus gang type of story and adds a twist by adding amazing superhero abilities. Before I purchased this, I told myself not to judge it immediately and to give it a try since I knew the game had superhero abilities and more silly stuff.

After playing it for a few hours, I was having tons of fun. There are a lot of things to do, and now that you have superhero abilities, you can do whatever you feel like doing. Use telekinesis, race around running at super speed, jump from a skyscraper and bring wrath to your enemies with a "death from above" nuclear explosion. I enjoyed the storyline. Everything about it made sense. It wasn't like they came up with ridiculously crazy stuff and did not have an explanation for it. I also enjoyed hanging out with your homies and the option to romance them(LOL). Got a thing for Shaundi or Gat? Go for it. Hahaha. It was fun to chat with your homies and bring the fight to your enemies with superpowers or funky weapons. Believe...there are plenty of FUNKY weapons. I won't spoil too much, but you'll definitely have tons of fun with them.

Moreover, if you enjoy games that have references from music, movies, or video games...this is definitely for you. I could not help but laugh at all the funny video game references throughout the game. As with the other games, you're still able to customize your character and your crew. I wish they had added something to customize your ship, but since you're at war, I guess there is no time for that. The graphics are an improvement from the past games, and the soundtrack is great.

I have no regrets in purchasing this. If you want a serious game about gang versus gang type of story, this may not be for you. But, if you enjoy sarcasm, other types of humor, and twists, this is your game. My only real pet peeve is that some of the side quests get a bit repetitive, not all of them, but some. I wish there had been more diversity with the side quests.

Honest reviews on Saints Row IV

This game is fun as hell I'm not gonna lie. The bad part about it is that there are not a whole lot of main missions, but there are a lot of side missions. These side missions though just have you going around and doing the same things over and over again though which is where it just gets boring and tedious. Also this just feels like a very expensive DLC for saints row three with them using the same map. The super powers are a nice touch and fun to mess with though. I would wait til the price goes down before buying it.

As any Saints game there are flaws, glitches, and so on but it doesn't matter at all. It's not very often I find myself laughing out loud and at a game but Saints Row IV as all other Saints games delivers the laughs. Leaping over buildings, sprinting super sonic speeds down the streets, freezing enemies and shattering them, the over all package is very enjoyable. I must admit a lot of the game seems to be rehashed from Saints 3. Cars, customization options, map, and so on are more of the same. Again, none of this matters. Everything is so over the top and fun you won't notice the flaws. At least I didn't. I recommend Saints Row 4 for fans of GTA, Crackdown, Prototype, and the lot, flaws aside.

Reviews of WWF: No Mercy

WWF: No Mercy

The most recent WWF game for the Nintendo 64 turns out to be the best yet. Improving upon the gameplay of last year's Wrestlemania 2000, THQ has updated the roster to include new characters such as Chris Benoit, Eddy Guererro, Trish Stratus, The Dudley's, and Kurt Angle, and character from the previous game now sport the current costumes. New match options allow you to compete in a three-way dance, a ladder match, or even brawl backstage in areas ranging from a boiler room to the arena parking lot.

In addition to the new matches, THQ has gotten rid of the Road To Wrestlemania from WM 2000 and replaced it with a more interesting championship mode where you choose the belt you wish to capture and a storyline develops based not only on your wins and losses, but also by the alliances you form with other wrestlers.

The gameplay is simple enough to allow a rookie to jump right in and have fun. No button combinations here to learn (like in the old Acclaim WWF Playstation games) just to do the simplest of moves. I guarantee that anybody will have the hang of the game in less than five minutes. It's that easy to jump into. And if you're a veteran, turn the difficulty up and you will be challenged by the computer.

Throw in the create-a-wrestler option, useful for creating anybody from Dude Love to Rob Van Dam to Kenta Kobashi, and you can play this game over and over again. Or at least until THQ releases their next WWF title for the N64. Anybody who is a wrestling fan should enjoy this.

Since I got this game fore christmas a few years a go I have played it again and again! I on average still play this game once a week usually more. It has good graphics considering everything, relase date, being on n64 everything. I made myself on the game and went throught the story mode for all the belts and just cant get enough of the game soo much fun, if you love wrestling and have played the other ones such as, wcw nwo world tour or revenge. then you will love this game for sure!! I am giving it a 5 star rating I plan on continually playing it for years to come. I make new wrestlers seems how thats really decent for this game, and use those wrestlers in different modes of game play for fun. but even the top superstars like kane, undertaker ,austin, hhh, are all fun to use no matter what game mode you play! Good multiplayer as well :)! please do buy it you wont regret it, unless you hate wrestling!

This is hands down THE best wrestling game for the Nintendo 64 game console. It's basically WrestleMania 2000, only taken to the next level. I give the all new Ladder Match a 10/10. There is nothing more fun than doing a move off of the top rung of the ladder. The Guest Referee match also gets a 10/10. If you don't feel like wrestling, go into this mode and referee a match, counting wrestlers out or counting the three count as fast/slow as you want. The 60 minute Iron Man Match gets a 9/10. It is very entertaining, but who wants to sit there for an hour getting fall after fall? And of course, you still have the exhibition matches, which include single match, tag team, triple threat, handicap, and cage matches. With new wrestlers such as the Radicalz, the new Undertaker, Lita, Rikishi, Trish Stratus and more added to the already impressive roster it will take a long time to lay the smack down on all them jabronis. But make no mistake about it, this game will keep you entertained for hours. I couldn't(and still can't) put it away! THQ should be proud of themselves.

Honest reviews on WWF: No Mercy

I own WCW vs. NWO world tour. There were alot of things about the game I thought they could change to make it better. I rented a few other games but none really satisfied me. Well, I rented WWF No Mercy and played it and I was amazed. First all the different matches you can have like a ladder, , a cage, iron man, royal rumble, etc. I wish it had a survivor series but it doesn't. Second, you could choose from multiple rings that look good. There are plenty of wrestlers and all of them have great looking uniforms. Also you can create wrestlers. You can buy clothes from the Smackdown mall and create wrestlers not on the game like Dude Love. There are also secret characters in the game. You can even buy some like Shawn Michaels and Ken Shamrock. The story mode is pretty fun. And some of the locker room brawls are great. If you are into wrestling games this is a perfect game. People who may not like wrestling should also check it out. This game should be owned by everyone.

Like I said in my title you do not have to watch the WWF to enjoy this great N64 title. True I was a fan of the WWF when I purchased this, but even though I do not currently watch it that doesn't mean this game sees no action. Similar in many ways to its predecessor "Wrestlmania 2000", "No Mercy" attempts to turn it up a notch. This time around many new features are included such as ladder matches, backstage fighting and more destructible object than ever. The roster selection is huge allowing a different type of wrestler for every different type player, and if that doesn't satisfy your needs you can head over to the well done create a wrestler mode and make your own. Career mode allows you to start a campaign for a title belt, which includes a different storyline for every belt. Multiplayer modes could not be better as up to 4 of you and your friends battle it out in multiplayer matches like royal rumble and tag team. This game is worth every penny and should not be overlooked by any wrestling fan or video game fan.

The game is amazing, very smooth action and easy to preform combos. The colors and animation are beautiful as they really play a part in bringing this game to life and making it pop. The game is in Japanese with a few exceptions, though even if you don't understand it all it won't really hinder your experience with the game, because it pretty much follows the plots of each arc in the series. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series, or anyone who enjoys fighting games in general.

I'm just going to talk about the content of the limited edition and whether or not its worth the extra price.

First of all, if we factor in the map packs, thats already a $25 value. So it really comes down to a $15 price difference between the standard edition (with the map pass) and the limited one. This is assuming you plan on getting the new maps in the first place. So does the remaining content make up for the price difference? Going over the content:

The packaging is nice. The box has a unique look and opens by lifting the flap which is held in place by a magnet. That and with the UNSC logo stamped on makes it look very official looking. I also like the look and quality of the steelbook case.

The UNSC Infinity briefing packet items are pretty neat, especially if you're into the lore. But they're really things you just look through once and then set aside for the remainder of time. There is not much else to them. However, I appreciate the quality of some of these items, such as the little notebook and the armor schematic poster (not sure what material was used to make said poster, but I like it).

The digital content will probably be the deal breaker here. The map packs as I mentioned are a big part of this edition. The "Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn" special edition download is a nice bonus, but it would have been even better if it was included as a DVD instead. The access to the six specializations is nothing special considering people can get the same thing if they play Halo 4 before Nov. 20. And honestly, who isn't?

As for the rest of the digital content. The in-game skins and emblem is also nothing special. The skin is basically the default recruit armor that you start with, but with a slightly different design. You get a 14-day LIVE gold trial which you'll probably never use. And the avatar items speak for themselves.

All in all, I'd say the limited edition has things that will make it worth it to many people, especially for those who have bought the limited (or legendary) editions to all the past Halo games. A part of me wishes it was cheaper or had a few more things like a Master Chief figurine for example. But as it stands I thought the overall package was alright for the cost but some of the bonus items are really lackluster.

First of all i just wanted to say that this limited edition is great. I'm about half way through the campaign and I'm having a blast. Here's what you get inside the box"

Numbered box: Each box has it's own number which gives it a truly limited feel.

Game in a tin case: You get a wonderful white tin case with your 2 discs in it.

Gabriel Thorne armor schematic: The schematic is printed on a kind of see through high quality paper

Silver envelope: Inside the silver envelope you get a mission briefing card.

Red UNSC envelope: Inside the red envelope are all the DLC codes. You get: Halo 4 Forward unto dawn which lets your experience halo 4 from it's very beginning, you get specializations, skins, Avatar props and male/female avatar armor. You also get a 14 days Xbox Live trial code.

Gabriel Thorne's Notebook: The notebook is beautiful. it's in a shape of a rectangle with a bottom middle cut out. The notebook shows different weapons, notes and other information. The back of the notebook is a hard, thick plastic with UNSC printed on it.

The box that the whole thing comes in is also beautiful, it's hard plastic and has the UNSC logo on it. If you're not sure whether or not to get the limited edition, there was one thing that totally sold me on it. You get the war maps map pack included in the box! Normally it sells for $25 I believe. It includes future DLC maps for Halo 4, if you were to pay for those maps separately you would pay over $40. If you know you won't keep the game for long and you are mainly buying it for the campaign and not multiplayer, i say get the regular. If you play multiplexer a lot and enjoy the extras which i listed above, i say go for the limited.

Personally I give the game 4.8/5 and the limited edition 5/5 for all the DLC goodies that you get and the attention to detail inside and outside the box.

I have to say, first of all, that the story is, in my opinion, far better presented than what Halo: Reach gave; I won't give spoilers here (although it's been quite a while), but I will say that I did not find the campaign, as a narrative piece, to be disappointing. I will warn that people unfamiliar with the expanded Halo universe will have some seriously confusing moments, which is a point against it. But given that I was prepared for that (the game was effectively made by fans), I can accept its eccentricities and flaws.

What I can't accept is how buggy and sometimes broken the multiplayer is: it has virtually nothing to do with the weapons and loadout system, as it's close enough to Bungie's system for Reach to avoid being broken, but the stuff that goes on "under the hood": matchmaking, NAT issues, random lag spikes, occasional gear resets until you relog into Live; I've genuinely had more issues with Halo 4's multiplayer in the last few months than I've ever had from Halo 3 to Reach.

You can tell this wasn't made by an objective, fully professional company, at least not yet: there's a lot of love-letters to fans, a few too many and a little too heavy-handed. There's design choices that make no sense (again, mostly under the hood; why couldn't they use Reach's netcode instead of their own?; on top of that, levels become rapidly meaningless as you max out your armory, unless you want to farm for achievements/commendation-specific equipment) and just overall the game feels somewhat incomplete at times.

But for me, the most important aspect was the campaign, and that, at least, is extremely solid. Not perfect, but excellently done. I can forgive the bugs and glitches prevalent throughout the game as "first attempt" issues. As long as they're resolved by Halo 5 (or even in a title update), I can forgive it. I really do consider this to be a very promising beta for Halo 5, honestly, rather than it's own standalone game. Perhaps if they'd had a beta, things would've been different, but alas...

At any rate, the game is well worth buying for any fans of Halo, but I'm sorry to say, not quite a good entry point for newcomers, unless you're only interested in multiplayer.

Honest reviews on Halo 4 Limited Edition -Xbox 360

343 Studios have done a tremendous job with Halo 4: it is a sequel worthy of its predecessors and I've been enjoying it very much. Those of you who have followed the saga of The Master Chief will find a very interesting reveal of many of the things you'd been wondering: about Cortana, the Forerunners, and much more. I won't spoil the story for you, but as you can see in the commercials and trailers we also get a new race to battle, with some very clever twists designed to make a veteran player have to think on their feet once more. With a new race are a whole new class of weapons and with the Single Player Campaign I found myself reminded of some of the best feelings of my favorite FPS games, stretching all the way back to Doom, Quake, and Half-Life. One interesting note: the little 'Grunts' no longer speak English: like the other races of The Covenant they speak in their own dialect. Much as I enjoyed the cute quips of "More! Enemy!" and "Bad Cyborg!", this change does bring the story together a little more consistently to me.

If there's one drastic difference in Halo 4, it's that there are several interactive cutscenes. These aren't quick-time events: they're more like those moments in the Call of Duty games where something dramatic happens and you are just watching through The Master Chief's eyes. The only downside to this is you spend your time on the edge of your seat hoping you'll know when to grab the controls again. There are melee kills that pop the camera to an over-the-shoulder view and then there are a couple of moments where you interact with switches and the camera changes to a short cutscene of The Master Chief flipping the switch/opening the door/etc. There is also a sprint mechanic that takes a bit of getting used to: click down to sprint, but take your thumb off the stick and let it pop upright again to be able to re-shoulder your weapon.

The maps we are introduced to in the Single-Player Campaign look like they'd be fantastic in Multiplayer: I haven't dived into the Multiplayer yet but I will say that there are plenty of areas for hiding, taking the high ground, or mixing it up with a bit of both. We also have armor enhancements beyond the ones introduced in Halo: Reach. For example, The Master Chief can cloak. He can produce an energy shield, but it's not for having instant invulnerability: you'll find yourself using it most in times when you're pinned down and need to get to cover to recharge. The use of these armor-driven powers is on a cooldown timer that's more reasonable than the all-or-none method introduced in Halo 2: if you need to re-engage the power before it's fully charged, you get what charge is built up--like Crysis.

I bought the collector's edition. It comes with the three DLC add-ons, access to a streaming version of the Forward Unto Dawn video series (but only through Halo Waypoint), and "eyes-only" UNSC mission briefs. We have a blueprint (that I won't spoil for you), a notebook similar to the "Dr. Halsey's journal" that was included in the limited edition of Halo: Reach (only much smaller), and all of it packed in a foldover game case. I was really pleased that the DLC was more of a quick unlock than it was a long download--I know there's some controversy over on-disc DLC, but I guess in this case, not having to sit and wait (or re-download it if I have to replace my XBox 360) makes it a bit more convenient.

If you've enjoyed the rest of the Halo series, I hope you enjoy Halo 4 as much as I have. I'm sad to see Bungie step away, but I'm also impressed with 343's work on this worthy sequel.

As far as Halo stories go that deal with the Master Chief, this is the best. It shows a more emotional component to the series in addition to the already decent sci-fi story. I should divulge now that I think the pinnacle of the Halo games story telling was reached with Halo: Reach so if my review of this game seems lackluster in regards to the story, you are forewarned.

The game picks up right where part three left off, on the ship where Master Chief last went to sleep. A few years have passed since these events and things are not looking to good for the dynamic duo of Cortana and John. As usual, John is putting boot to ass to achieve the mission goals and this time, he has set his own priorities. His number one priority right now is to get Cortana back to her creator for repairs as it seems she is dying. Along the way he discovers those wacky Covenant forces doing more silly shit, this time uncovering the origins of an ancient civilization that is determined to rule the universe, and trying to utiliza the power for themselves. The visuals are a little more polished from the halo: Rech time and the game runs a lot more smoothly. The best thing about this game aside from the story is all the added things that come along with it. Right now there is a guaranteed 10 week online component to the side story of the Spartans that further continue the story. That is 5 extra missions per week that are not simply multiplayer but addition to the story. There is a movie or a five part web episoded series that shows the beginning relationship and explanation of Captain Lasky and the Master Chief. If you watch it in it's movie form I guarantee you that it stands up easily to any big budget hollywood sci-fi movie. There is of course the always spectacular multiplayer and ever present DLC. This game basically picks up and runs with the ground work laid with Hal: Reach and makes an already exemplary series even better. If you buy it, get the limited edition as it comes with some very cool extras and a beautiful game case.

Having just had the chance to reacquaint myself with Redneck Rampage for the first time in several years (yes, it is possible to play the game in Windows XP but I'll get to that), I found it just as much fun as ever. This game never got its proper due, mainly due to the subject matter and such overshadowing contemporaries as Quake and Duke Nukem back in the mid-90s, but it is impressive on just about every level: gameplay, graphics, music, sound, and humor. The game was built using the Duke Nukem 3D engine, and this allows for plenty of entertaining interaction with the gaming environment; the level of detail is obviously lacking when judged by today's standards, but this remains a vivid, fun, quirky, and complex world to play in. All kinds of sound effects further add to the game's special charm, especially the phrases and exclamations your redneck hero mutters from time to time (all of which are not perfectly suitable for youngsters thus, a parental lock feature allows you to take some of the redneck out of the redneck).

You play Leonard, and you're not happy. Gosh-durn aliens have landed right here in Hicksville, and they are cloning regular folks like Billy Ray left and right; that's bad enough, but now they've really gone too far those alien scumbags have gone and stolen your fav-o-rite pig. It's time for them to pay; your pal Bubba is a little soft in the head (and the fact that you whack him upside the head with your crowbar to end each level isn't helping him any in the brains department), so it's up to you to show these aliens who's boss in these parts. You fight your way through fourteen intricate levels which take you all over town (junkyard, drive-inn, sewers, smelting plant, chicken processing plant, mortuary, etc.) facing a cast of bad guys including Skinny Old Coots, the aforementioned good-ole-boy Billy Ray clones, that pesky, sharp-shootin' sheriff Lester T. Hobbs, and annoying alien critters as those nasty, slippery Turd Minions, alien Hulks, and the curvy but ultra-deadly alien Vixens. You start out with your trusty crowbar, but you can find all sorts of nice implements with which to make your point: shotgun, huntin' rifle, dynamite, crossbow, ripsaw blade shooter, and if'n you kill an alien hulk, a loaded alien space gun.

Don't go looking for any of those fancy medical kits to take care of your deteriorating health; you survive by munching cow pies, drinking beer and liquor, and when it's true rampage time homemade moonshine. Too much liquor makes you drunk as a skunk, and too many cow pies slow you down. The game is more challenging than you might expect, too. If you're as bad a gamer as I am, you will likely find yourself wandering back and forth all over a given level looking for that last darn key you need; the good news, though, is that all but a couple of the secrets you need to find are at least intuitive. Even when you're stuck, you can enjoy the music that drives this game forward; it includes foot-stompin' tracks from the likes of the Reverend Horton Heat and Mojo Nixon. This is just good old entertainment with no redeeming quality whatsoever.

I do want to let folks know that this game will run on Windows XP. You'll need to get hold of a couple of files, which you can find online (look up Bertram's Lair to find a tutorial for running the game on XP), and there's a certain way you need to start the game, but there's really very little to it and the game runs like a charm.

Read the full-length Amazon review above, it's pretty spot-on. This really is an extremely funny game -and if you don't want the increasingly challenging levels to get in the way of the laughs, it's well worth getting the cheats from fan sites you can link to at Interplay's homepage. Thoroughly recommended.

You've all seen the Doom/Quake 3D engine in action. You all know the joy in sneaking around a corner and blasting the head off of a monster while your character mutters something darkly humerous. Redneck Rampage revels in that joy and sets you in a world where skinny old coots and fat Bubba reign supreme, at least until you use your alien arm gun (you tug on a tendon to get the blaster to fire) and fry them from across the road. Don't worry, they're aliens clones; you can annihilate and feel good about it. But make sure you have enough whiskey and moonpies to keep healthy. Your character shoots best when he's had a few. And don't forget that taking a leak or just shooting a good ol' "Yehah!" can do wonders for your health. So load up yer scatter gun, listen to the comments (and you might want to try the expansion cuss pack for some really guilty pleasure) and try not to get hit with that...stuff...the aliens in the sewers throw at you. You may feel like you shouldn't laugh, but when you play, the laughs will come often and steadily until the end.

Other reviewers say it's dumb and doesn't work with with XP.

It is silly but you are buying a game called "Redneck Rampage" That should clue you in. It does work just fine with XP if you use a program called DOSbox. I played this game years ago and am finally able to enjoy it again.

When reading most reviews about Hitman HD trilogy the general view is that it doesn't look that good, & tbh I just don't know why, Hitman 2 is 10 years & I think it looks pretty darn good for being that old & hell I actually enjoyed playing a few of the missions, I mean sure the controls are extremely odd but that's just old school gaming for ya, people need to realize that HD doesn't mean upgraded graphics/game engine, it's the same old game it was when it came out back when just a clearer picture, I bought it for $25 so it was definitely worth the price. Ps...if you're a fan of absolution this isn't for you, it's at a way slower place & there are no hints, you basically have to just figure it out on your own, & gunplay is very limited, but still an awesome game

I'll keep it short and sweet. If you love the series as a whole and just want to go back and reminisce on old times, then this is just what you need. Now you can have it on your PS3 or 360 without having to go through the trouble of hooking up your old ancient systems just to play. Even if your new to the games, this can suit you just well! Can't beat the price!

Honest reviews on Hitman HD Trilogy

If you are someone who has never played any of the Hitman games before, then this is your last chance! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a challenge and for those who just love stealth games. The gameplay, graphics and the story line of each game is unique and interesting. Out of the three, Hitman Blood Money is easily my favorite because it offers a lot of creative ways to finish off a mission and the graphics are simply amazing. Seriously, this is your last chance to play these amazing three games!
