Cheap Modsticks Pro Xbox 360 Controller Analog Sticks (Orange)
These weer just what i was looking for. They are made of high quality aluminum and feel absolutely amazing, The controls are so more responsive. The only thing i wish was that the controller thumb rest had a rounded rubberized tip like the PS3 controllers. all the tips the manufacturer stocks are sad comparisons to the feel of a stock thumb stick tip.I recently put together 3 custom controllers using chrome shells, short button throws, and modsticks. I used these grabber orange sticks on green chrome shells. Totally hot.

Review of Xbox 360 Energizer Power and Play Charging System - Black
I was a bit skeptical when buying this product. I've bought a lot of aftermarket products for my 360 before and the stuff usually works, but never 100%. This one works like a charm. You connect the remotes and when they aren't fully charged the red light comes on almost instantly. After some time (usually hour or two) the green lights will turn on to show the batteries are fully charged. I believe also it doesn't overcharge the battery, thus increasing the battery life. I've tried charging both original Microsoft batteries as well as some aftermarket battery packs (NyKo aftermarket battery packs to be specific) and this Energizer charger works well for BOTH. Plus this charger helps your remotes look a lot cooler when they are not in use rather than just having them thrown in a corner somewhere. Definitely worth the money, and I'm even considering buying a second one soon.
PS I saw a review saying the headset charger wasn't there. Well you may have accidentally thrown it away!!! It is a small piece that is optional, one end plugs into power cord and other end plugs into the base where the power cord would normally go. It is totally there, and good thing cause I bought a used wireless headset for $5 cause dude lost the charger. And it works just fine now. Its the whole reason I bought this.
The power adapter is a power strip friendly 5V 1A wall wart with a cord that's about 4' long and uses a mini coaxial connector.
IMHO this is by far the coolest looking 2-controller docking station you can get for your Xbox controllers.

I have had 2 plug in play charger batteries die. The controllers would still work, as long as they were plugged into the xbox. I have 3 plug n play charge cables, and 2 xboxs. The problem exists on em all, so I know the problem was in the batteries. After one charge on this my batteries will hold a full charge again!!! Just got this yesterday, if it turns out I made this review early I will edit this post. But as of 24 hours after receiving this I couldn't be happier. Plus I like star trek and this thing looks like it could go warp 11. HAHA (yeah I know, physically impossible. Way to ruin a great joke!!!)PS I saw a review saying the headset charger wasn't there. I've used every charger out there that you can think of, including the regular play and charge kit for the batteries only. This is the best charging stand ever and also includes a spot to charge your wireless headset, so that frees up a plug on the surge protector.Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Energizer Power and Play Charging System - Black
Apparently there are different variants of this product being sold under the same name. Mine came with two rechargeable batteries :) and did not include a headset charger option :< but that's fine with me because I don't have a rechargeable headset anyway. The power adapter is a power strip friendly 5V 1A wall wart with a cord that's about 4' long and uses a mini coaxial connector.

List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $14.99

The headset arrived quickly and was exactly as described. Now I can more clearly hear 12-year-olds' mothers yelling at them in the background while I shoot them in the head.
Except its half the price and there's no tax.....
'nuff said.....buy it already!
What I got with my order is a grey and white headset. It came in an orange bag with no Microsoft packaging whatsoever (as opposed to my recent purchases of Microsoft Xbox-related orders from Amazon). Further, the internal copper wiring next to the mic switch is exposed (the sheath is not attached properly) because it was assembled poorly. Please take a look at my photo in the the "View and share related images" section on the item page for further detail.
Thankfully, Amazon was extremely quick and courteous in resolving the issue. It is in my opinion that Quick Buys needs to either change its product advertisement/imaging, or be flagged so other customers do not purchase and receive an item that is not as advertised.

The mic that came with my 360 bit the dust and I opted for this as a replacement rather than one of the more expensive alternativeness. It works great; it sounds great; and if you treat these right, they last several years.Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Headset
The head set is very nice where I got it from sent it very quick great condition Brand new box. THE ONLY SET BACK........ is that the On/off switch in next to your chin so it can get annyoing taking your hand off the controller to turn your mic on or off, especially in halo or call of duty. Other than that the head set is in beautiful condition. 5 starsFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Xbox 360 Headset

Crash of the Titans - Xbox 360 Reviews
A real letdown in most areas. My whole household was thrilled and counting down to this game. We got it on day one, rather than waiting to hear what others thought. Well, remember the fun boxes and the TNT and the figuring out puzzles? There is very little of that in this game. If you loved the old area where Crash takes over that yellow robot suit, you may like this game. In Crash Titans, you highjack (or jack) other huge robot-like creatures, and smash other similar robot-like creatures. That is about it, total, for the whole game. It should have been called Crash Battle Bots. You highjack a bot, smash and battle other robots.
Remember the fun of finding boxes, figuring out how to cross gates taht open and close, hanging from suspended ceilings and spinning just in time to fend off scorpions, all the lighthearted fun colors and scenery? There is about, being very generous, 5% of that in this game. It's great for the first few minutes, then very dark and just battling. There are a few 'surfing' scenes here and there that are similar to the old games, but this is way more like Spyro even in those areas.
My kids played on Normal level. I suggest playing at the most difficult level for SURE if you want to get any fun out of this game. Unless you are totally new to not only Crash Bandicoot but also if you are totally new to games. Then normal is fine. Otherwise, choose the difficult level.
My kids got through the entire game in 3 days. That really sums up this game. $50 for a three day game. Usually, we play Crash as a family, each taking a turn for each level. We spend weeks, honestly even months, sharing the game. I did level one, waited for the kids to get bast the dark battle areas, and never played again. That's just all there is.
Total bummer. I really want my money back. :( Would be fun to battle other family members or friends in the two player mode though. The two person is a little clumsy, but at least it's more fun that way. Not worth $50. Wait til it comes out at $20. At the most.
I highly recommend it if you want to play a game that has little or no violence, since we don't have Mario on the xbox360, this is the closest it gets.

I have to admit I wasn't a big video game fan before I tried this game. But my 8 year old son and I have been having a ball with Crash and his friends. The game provides a lot of clean fun and excitement and is fast paced enough to keep my son's attention! Yet on the easy level, easy enough that he does not get frustrated. A great game to start with Crash of the Titans has already enthralled the whole family. Too bad you can't play with more than two players...but aside from that, it rocks!Best Deals for Crash of the Titans - Xbox 360
Among so many violent games, this game presents great entertainment for the whole family. It is not so easy to play, for absolutely new gamers, like my wife :-), but it is fun to spend a few hours in front of the game. Some characteristics of the series which I considered a huge problem (like rare saves) have been fixed, the camera works fine, and it presents difficulty without frustration. The graphics are pretty nice too.I highly recommend it if you want to play a game that has little or no violence, since we don't have Mario on the xbox360, this is the closest it gets.

Best Sega Dreamcast Console Deals
If you're in the market for a next generation console right now, your options are pretty limited. Buy a Dreamcast or wait for PS2 to come out in October. Well, I'm here to tell you to buy a Dreamcast. Sony is marketing the PS2 as if it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, and many people are believing it. But when you take away the hype, the PS2 is just a machine, as is the dreamcast, and it comes down to which machine will provide you with more enjoyment. First and foremost, you are not going to enjoy coughing up .. bucks for the PS2(... for the console ... if you want a game). Dreamcast is rumored to be cutting it's price ... , which should be taking place some time very soon. You will certainly enjoy saving yourself, or santa, .. bucks. But would you then be getting an inferior console? The answer to that is surprisingly "no." When making a side by side comparison of Dead or Alive 2 (a game on both Dreamcast and PS2) one realizes that the Dreamcast version is actually better! Another comparison can be drawn from games like Sega GT and Gran Turismo 2000. Many game critics are saying that Sega GT looks like the better game at this point, and this is saying a lot given Gran Turismo's reputation as a great racing game. Also, the PS2 only has two controller ports. Looks like you'll have to give sony an extra $30 if you want to play a game with 3 friends. People who are all about the PS2 seem to all say the same thing. "You can play DVD's." This is a great feature, but it's really not that big of a deal. PS2 will cost about ... more than Dreamcast, and DVD players are dropping in price, so you might be able to find one for around .... anyway. The whole DVD thing is just part of all of the hype that Sony is feeding to the public, making something that's not a big deal seem like the greatest thing that ever happened to humankind. Once PS2 is out, its actual performance will be measured instead of the hype, and people will then find that it's not any better than Dreamcast, so don't put all of your eggs in Sony's basket just yet. Wait until you could try both systems out, and weigh out the positives and negatives yourself. You'll be surprised with what you discover.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure-all Star Battle Review
The game is amazing, very smooth action and easy to preform combos. The colors and animation are beautiful as they really play a part in bringing this game to life and making it pop. The game is in Japanese with a few exceptions, though even if you don't understand it all it won't really hinder your experience with the game, because it pretty much follows the plots of each arc in the series. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure series, or anyone who enjoys fighting games in general.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Reviews
This is a one of the few games that can be made for xbox, gamecube, PS2, and PC, and is still awesome on GBA! The grapics aren't as good, but I really can't blame Ubi for that. On all of the other versions of Splinter Cell, the graphics are 3-D. This game would be hard to play with 3-D graphics for GBA. The missions are slightly different from what I have been told.
If you are a person who gats a game and expects to be good at it the first time you play it, this is NOT the game for you!
Splinter Cell takes alot of time to learn. The entire game is about being able to be stealthy. You don't want to use up all of your amunition. That is why there are dark spots you can hide in to jump out and use your fighting skills to knock your enemy out.
Pros
1.Same basic objective to the game.
2.Lots of fun to sneek around and knock out people.
3.Lots of cool moves that you can use on Sam Fisher.
Cons
1.Can't get all of the old weapons
2.Very difficult!
3.Frustrating to have to play the missions all over again if you lose!
The A.I. in this game is pretty good.
The problem with it is, your enemy can react to you to fast for you do do something. If you are move to fast you get detected, if you move to slow you get detected.
One of the most frustrating things of this game is the fact that if you get deteced, the enemy will, A. Shoot, or Stun you. B. Will flip the alams and you you have about 6 sec. to find the switch before the mission is over.
All in all, I found this game to be challenging but rewarding if you win.
This is a very good stealth game.It doesn't much the greatness of the game for PS2,X-BOX,GAMECUBE,and PC,but it's still very good.
It feautures the best graphics I have ever seen in a GBA game so far. It's levels are great, and the moves that you can accomplish are spectacular.
So why am I rating it four stars, and not five?
Because of the control.It [disappoints].
Most of the times you will loose,it will not be your fault, but the control's fault.
And the boss levels...imagine the worst control you can have for a sniper rifle...now double it!
Four stars means ''VERY GOOD'' and this is how I rate this game. I suggest you rent this game first before you decide if you will buy it.
First off, where the XBox and other platforms had an incredibly detailed 3D shooter with amazing lighting effects, this is the GBA. So you get a 2D side scroller. You have to accept right off that this isn't quite the same detail level.
Once you get past that hurdle and accept this as a "fun stealthy game", it really is quite enjoyable. There are the same general mission aims as in the other versions, so you have hostages to rescue, contacts to talk with and enemies to kill. You have to use stealth as much as possible, shooting only when necessary.
The graphics are reasonably good for the GBA system, and the music works quite well. The controls are extremely simple to master, so there isn't a lot of button mashing. Most areas are more like puzzles, trying to figure out exactly what the best way to get past an obstacle is.
Highly recommended for spy and stealth game lovers.

If you've played Splinter Cell on the PC or any of the home systems, than you allready know what a fantastic game it is. When it was announced that Splinter Cell would be ported to the GBA, a few eyebrows were raised questioning how much of the game's substance can be crammed into a little 32-bit cartridge. Well, Ubi Soft did a better than expected job with porting Splinter Cell to the GBA, and while it may look like an average side scroller to the naked eye, there is more here than one might think. First off the graphics are nicely done, and everyone's favorite secret agent commando Sam Fisher is fluidly animated for the most part. The gameplay tries to incorporate aspects from it's bigger console bretheren such as using stealth to your advantage, while mixing it with basic 2-D platform elements. Splinter Cell for the GBA is nicely paced and action packed from beginning to end, but the game is rather short in length and really doesn't offer anything else. All that aside, Splinter Cell is a much better than expected game for the GBA that attempts to carry the spirit of the original game, and while it has it's flaws, it surprisingly holds together well.Saturday, August 30, 2014

I wanted to try to offer a more critical review than the either glowing 5-stars or completely ignorant 1-stars. I will preface this by saying I got this game for a little less than half price from a friend, the day after release. I will get to the reasoning for that shortly. Game is WELL worth the price I paid, however if I had paid full price...I'm not sure I would feel the same. The lack of matchmaking in Co-Op, and some poor multiplayer choices are what prevents this game from being so much more.
I have not gotten very far into the single player, so I cannot comment too much on it. As others have said the story will definitely not blow you away, but I feel the gameplay is enough to make up for this. The tactical/stealth ability is enjoyable to play, but you can also use a run and gun style of gameplay if that is what you prefer.
Guerrilla mode is an awesome addition. I can't help but love any type of "horde" game mode (zombies/survival/you name it). However, as others have mentioned, the lack of matchmaking for the Co-Op game modes is a HORRENDOUS oversight. There is no justifiable reason to make the Co-Op modes strictly invite only, and is easily deserving of a one star reduction.
Now to the multiplayer. Overall thoroughly addictive and enjoyable gameplay. GR veterans will find that although it is definitely a departure from the series, there are little details that will bring back fond memories. The graphics may be viewed as slightly under par with other recent releases, but the game looks amazing on my screen, and the realism of character movement is impressive. I will say that it is NOT an easy game to play, and those who can't pick up on the style will be smacked around mercilessly. I count this as a pro and a con. I personally love the extensive use of cover style of play, however that is the style you MUST play in. Any thought of not adapting to this style will result in a completely unenjoyable game experience. For those who dig it, you can become a veritable killing machine once you pick it up. Unfortunately, you will find that this style can (sometimes) result in a total deluge of campers, who would rather sit behind a concrete barrier and wait for passersby than to actually get up and go after the objective.
The multiplayer cons are what bring the game down most for me, and also the reason that I was able to get the game so cheaply. In the GRAW games the host was able to choose the map, time limit, and weapon kit. This is gone. I'm sure private games still allow map and time selection, but the kit option is gone entirely. What you get is a choice to vote for one of two maps. Way to dumb it down Ubi. For those who are new to the GR series this may not mean much, but to the veterans, especially from GRAW I and II, this is everything. If you played GRAW II recently you would be lucky to find a sharpshooter (team deathmatch) player game running, but you could ALWAYS find a Pistols Only Blind Siege ranked game. These were/are the hardcore players who still played the game years after release. Kit selection is gone, blind siege is gone, sharpshooter is gone. Some have said that team deathmatch would be added, but why would it not be included in the game upon release? It makes no sense, and leads to one star reviews with people whining about "no team deathmatch?". Some will mock those who say that, but the fact remains that team deathmatch is the industry standard. To leave it out, or to intend for it to be in the game but not upon release, just makes no sense. The load times can also be extremely long at times, and I have had issues with losing connection to the server before loading the lobby and after entering the game.
I will be getting more into the singleplayer and Co-Op modes, and will edit/update this review as necessary. I was really hoping for this game to be a home run, but it is more like a double. Worth checking out, but I would rent or try to check out the gameplay first, so you know what you are buying.
* Update 6/01/2012 *
Single player is a little too linear as compared to previous GR games, but I enjoy it. The rendering of human faces in cut-scenes is really, really poor, as mentioned by others. Like they spent so much time making characters with masks look bad*** that they completely forgot about those not wearing masks or helmets.
I love the multiplayer experience in this game, however, major server issues are dragging it down. Almost constant issues with losing connection to servers, host migrations, lobbies that won't start, and lag that is absolutely ridiculous. I've shot a guy with two full clips who didn't even seem to notice my presence, and then he dies ten seconds later. No exaggeration. Hopefully they will get these issues ironed out in the coming weeks. It should also be pointed out that the info on Amazon states 16 player multiplayer or 8v8, when this is not the case; the multiplayer is 12 maximum.
The controls are excellent, the campaign is lengthy enough 8 hours in but don't know how much more is left.
Guerrilla mode is fantastic different missions on each map, with up to 4 player co-op. Difficulties range from Recruit (easy) to Veteran (medium) and Elite (hard). I would start with Recruit if you're new to the Ghost Recon universe. Veteran is a decent challenge out of the gate. Elite was much too difficult for the party I was in, but I don't know if that was inexperience in the players, or if the difficulty was scaled by the number of people in the party. Still a great game mode.
Multiplayer is the "meat" of the game (with Guerrilla getting the prestigious "potatoes.") The game modes vary depending on if you have a uPlay account (stupid, but I don't take off stars it came with MY game, so I have a complete experience. The used purchasers may say otherwise...)
The four different modes are all unique enough that you have a different playing style for each Conflict is an objective mode, random objective locations, and respawns. Decoy is a game mode (one that I really enjoy) where there are 3 listed objectives, but 2 are decoys, and one is the actual target both the defenders and attackers don't know which is designated as the actual objective. Once that is found, there is another final objective to be hacked before the round is won. Respawns and emphasis on teamwork. Saboteur is a mode where you take one bomb on the map, and try to plant it in the other teams base. I haven't played but 3/4 games of this mode, but from what I did play, it was good fun. Siege is best described as a "Search and Destroy" clone no respawns, objective based, best of three rounds. I love that Seige allows the defenders to set up before allowing the attackers to spawn in at the beginning. It requires and rewards teamwork.
Gunsmith is a fan-freaking-tastic layer to the game. You basically get to customize almost every part of your gun barrel, stock, trigger, optics etc. The combinations are excellent. You earn unlock points in each class by leveling up, and most unlocks are available at the very beginning. You can test out each specific part of the modifications in the firing range right in Gunsmith, and it loads almost immediately, so you don't spend forever waiting at a loading screen just to see if you like the red-dot versus the Holo sight, or other various things.
No major gripes about the game just yet and I'll edit if they become apparent.
One very minor gripe there's a map (I don't know the name yet) but it went a little too far on the obstructed vision aspect. I get that it's probably very similar to what it would look like in an actual sand storm, but it doesn't mesh well with the gameplay. Every little while, everything pauses while everyone is blinded. Realistic? Probably. Fun? "meh."
4.5/5 Rounded to 5.
TL;DR great addition to the Ghost Recon family, definitely worth picking up (new better than used) and nothing major to complain about. Note: I've heard a few complaints "in-game" during multiplayer where people thought it was an FPS it's not, it's a Third Person (over the shoulder) Shooter.
Thanks!
Edit: 5-25-12. Major network issues. I get that it's only 3 days post launch, but the "ghost" kills, host migrations, unable to find players, and general in-match lag are very detrimental to the experience. It's not every match, but it's every couple. This should have been addressed after the beta.
Minus 1 star. 3.5/5 rounded to 4
Some comments on the campaign. The story is pretty dull and lacks a decent plot or captivating dialogue, but this is easily overcome by the game play and style. It keeps you engaged and wanting to perform better in each situation. You can play each situation as tactical as possible, or simply barge in guns blazing where allowed. Certain levels will make you play tactically in which you cannot reveal yourself (which honestly just makes it way more exciting).
In terms of the difficulty of the game, I would have to say it was fairly easy. I played Veteran mode (which is medium in this game) and was able to complete it within 10 hrs. A solid 10 hrs might I add though.
I may have not included too many details on the game itself or its technicalities, but in all honesty pick this one up. You will feel a sigh of relief from all the tension of COD and/ Battlefield, not to mention that it is full 4 player co-op for campaign, guerrilla, and multiplayer.
This just means that if you have friends over your house or friends online who have the game, you will have way more fun playing thru campaign or any other game mode without having to worry about the stuff you have to worry about with other non-coop shooters.
I will admit though that paying $60 may not be fully worth the amount of content in this game, but either way if you are tired of all other FPS out there, you will not feel so burdened letting go of the money. If you do not have that much to front on a game that didn't need millions of dollars to be spent on marketing, then simply wait for used copies at lower prices.
Overall, this game is an excellent, fun, co-op, TPMS (third person military shooter) that will not let you down. You will probably end up playing through the campaign once by yourself and then multiple times with friends since it only gets more fun and satisfying as you get better.
I love most games that borrow Tom Clancy's name, and that was part of the reason to buy this one. I do play a lot of multiplayer, but a great part of my multiplayer is at home on a split screen (also online).
The menu is a mess. It takes a while to find what you want, and what you cannot find, it takes a long time to figure out why. I go into campaign to find the co-op campaign, and it is simply not there. What happened here is the following:
although the box is very misleading specifically stating there is a two player co-op that does not need live (orange color coded on the back), this does not include the campaign but just a little add-on.
furthermore, the greedy producers added a code to play anything multiplayer online. The gae comes with one code, but that brings the added problems. If you play in a different console, it is gone. Two players in your house nope. Have to buy more codes. If for one reason you buy it used nope, have to buy code.
Now, a 60 dollar game that you cannot truly play the campaign with someone in your house, despite the misleading box clearly stating you can is just a waste.
The campaign itself, alone or online with someone else that has a code, is good and fun, but nothing spectacular.
Multiplayer can be fun, but the menus are confusing and difficult to use even for someone that is on xbox live on a daily basis.
I am actually sick and tired of expensive games that require you to keep purchasing and paying more for every little thing that should be included. After this game I will never buy a ubisoft game again.

* Update 6/01/2012 *

You can't compare this game to CoD, Battlefield or really any other FPS. If you absolutely need a comparison, it's a less sci-fi version of Gears mixed with a dash of SOCOM.The controls are excellent, the campaign is lengthy enough 8 hours in but don't know how much more is left.
Realistic? Probably. Fun? "meh."

I recommend those who are tired of COD and/or Battlefield to invest the money for TC's Ghost Recon FS. I took a gamble on buying it and so far I am not at all disappointed. This game is so refreshing to play and so different compared to the senseless run and gun monotony of the latter games. Although this game claims to be more tactical than it actually is, you will not be disappointed with the campaign. I cannot really say too much on multiplayer or guerrilla mode since I haven't played them yet, however I would definitely give the game a solid 8.5/10 when it comes to fun and game play. Some comments on the campaign. Honest reviews on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Xbox 360
I picked up the game last night and absolutely love it. Cover system is the best out of every game I have played so far, third person (with first person zoom) adds a new dimension to the genre, and overall, Ghost Recon is an amazing game. Possibly one of the best features is that every mode, including the 12 hour campaign and 15 hour guerrilla mode, includes Co-op, which for me, makes the game even better. I love call of duty and battlefield, but this game is so refreshing. You actually have to play extremely tactically and if you are tired of the sometimes irritating and boring run and gun gameplay of duty and battlefield, you should definitely pick up this game. Discount Serious Sam 3: BFE
I can't tell you how happy I am that there is another Serious Sam game. While I appreciate the other styles of games, there is nothing as satisfying as sitting down to a run and gun shooter. Why don't more companies make these kind of games anymore? When I get home, stressed from work, playing a little Sam does the trick. Seriously, its pure adrenaline fun. Enjoy!
Just turn down the lights, turn up the sound, and have a good time.

I am a bit biased but love what Croteam has done with Serious Sam 3. Classic Serious Sam feel with new, modern tweaks here and there to keep it fresh and fun. Highly recommended for action junkies.Honest reviews on Serious Sam 3: BFE
I've been FPS gaming since the first Doom and Heretic. It seems that now for a game to succeed, it has to push the envelope in every way. The new merging of FPS and RPG modes makes me long for the golden days of brainless fun. This game fills that void and then some. It's not really THAT brainless either. When your confronted by hoards of baddies, you need a strategy or your gonna get creamed. The graphics and background music blend perfectly. Personally, after a bad day at the office, sometimes I don't want to think too much. This game allows you to forget your bad day by just trying to survive the frenetic game play. It does get really hard at times but those are few and far between. You can't beat the price too.Just turn down the lights, turn up the sound, and have a good time.

Just like the title says this game is fast paced run and gun, lots of ammo, lots of guns, lots of monsters, aliens whatever you want to call them. The gameplay is more like a the old-golden age of FPS in the late 90s and early 2000s (If you like modern warfare type shooters or BF3 type games this might not be your cup of tea if you liked doom, quake or duke nukem or something from the older days then it might be). You run over guns and ammo to pick them up you can manually reload now which is a new feature or you can just it let auto reload like in the old series sam games. The game had very little bugs and glitches for me either I did not notice them or they did not appear I played it solo and co-op online(twice) it worked fine(This game co-op with 16 is a blast). Also expect to die alot and just keep charging monsters like no tomorrow if you love action, gore and badly written but stupidly funny bad jokes and one liners then you wil like this game. The Graphics are good too using the new serious engine so it looks smooth.Saturday, August 9, 2014
Cheap RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 - PC
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $9.99

After many of the 'Tycoon' style games that have been popular over the last few years, the reigning king was a simple family style game called Roller Coaster Tycoon. After two successful expansion packs, developer Chris Sawyer waited well over a year to launch Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. The sequel is based on a no brainer..."Build it and they will come". Seeing that the first game and its expansions still sell well, Infogrames already has a large base of built in fans looking for more of the same, but will these fans love '2', and will this attract new fans? Time will tell.
Overall, the look and feel of the game remains relatively the same. A 3D isometric overhead view allows players to build a theme park from scratch and carry it through pre-defined scenarios. These scenarios have conditions such as have a park rating of X by year Y or have X guests by year Y or build N coasters of type T with an excitement factor of X.
The game ships with about 25 scenarios that are grouped in categories of difficulty: easy, advanced, expert, and Real Parks. The website RollercoasterTyccon2.com promises to have future downloadable scenarios, and one major enhancement over the original game is the inclusion of a scenario editor. Players can now create their own parks/games and trade among friends. You can control all variables from size of park, weather, rides available for research and more.
The 'Real Parks' are actual Six Flag parks from around the world that are pretty close to real world counterparts. You can choose to just manage them or alter them at will.
Game enhancements:
1) Park sizes can be double that of the original game and it supports a much higher screen resolution rate.
2) Scenery: All the original scenery from the RCT and its expansions are present as well as new ones including: Pirate, Scary, Medieval, Gears, Wild West, Giant Gardens and more. There are also more fences, water themes, roofs and walls and the ability to stack scenery makes it much easier to create buildings.
3) New rides: Well obviously there are more coasters but also other attractions as well on top of all the originals.
4) Coaster and ride options: There seems to be much more customizations available for coasters including new car types, special banks, queue line options, supports, signs & banners, special track types and more.
5) New shops and stalls: Again, all the originals and more including sun glass hut, ATM's, First Aid station, more food choices.
6) More music options. Many more styles of music can accompany your rides.
7) Coaster construction: Tool here has been revamped and now you can make/test/save/see coasters better than ever.
Now not everything is perfect in this game:
1) Graphics: Even though the screen resolution and park size has increased, the view is still the same as is the graphics engine. While there is more 'eye-candy' per-se, the overall look is still cartoony and has some 'jaggy' issues. Not to mention that hills, waters, mountains still look slightly un-natural as it did in the original.
2) Lack of scenarios that ship. There are only 3 easy scenarios, a handful of advanced, and more expert. This may prove complex for players who never had the first. Hopefully new ones will be available from the official website soon.
3) No major innovations in game play. I'd like to see new objectives, or disasters to overcome, or new behaviors of park guests, mechanics, handymen, mascots...still the same.
The largest adjustment fans of the original will have to make is getting use to the new construction and customization tools. While they have been expanded (a large plus), they have also taken on new 'handling' characteristics which is proving somewhat confusing for me. For old players, it's retraining how to this new interface and sub-menus...lacking in the 1st game. While this new interface does seem to be much more rich and deep, I truly found it wasn't as intuitive as the RCT 1. I was looking for information that seemed to be present in the 1st game easily, now I have to dig to sub-menus I'm not familiar with.
These were some of the reasons I chose o give it 4 stars instead of 5. Something's are just better off simple, not overly complex.
The major new feature is a scenario editor which allows you to create scenarios from the ground up including the land type and size, the amount of money available to you, and the features available as you play. This is a great addition as it provides the opportunity to create the park of your dreams with no limits, or simply see how well you can re-create your favorite theme park from scratch.
Other new features include a coaster designer, some pre-designed Six Flags parks, and a few new rides/themes/shops. No, there aren't a ton of new rides/themes/shops like many had originally hoped not yet anyway. The game has been built on a very large platform, but has not been fully utilized in an obvious effort to release many future expansion packs. The original Roller Coaster Tycoon had two expansion packs; no doubt the sequel hopes to provide even more.
Overall, this is still the most addictive game ever created. It provides literally hours upon hours of non-stop enjoyment. A MUST for anyone with a love for theme parks and/or roller coasters.
On the plus side, there are a TON of rides and new scenery and shops. Far far more than were in the original game. There are a lot more ways you can customize your ride as well, from the usual color choices, to lots of music selections and new entrance and exit choices. There are many more scenerios, which are happily organized into levels so you can start at the beginner level and work your way up. The game supports a higher screen resolution and you can now create your own scenarios and design coasters apart from the game itself.
On the down side, as a previous player I found some things hard to find as they've been moved around and re-organized a bit. I suppose it's fine for new players, and I'm sure I'll get used to it, but in most cases, I really didn't even see the point. I would have liked more coaster and ride designs as well. Really disappointed with how many offer just one selection for a pre-designed ride. There should be at least two I think for every ride.
I also got a bit frustrated with some of the scenarios. You would start working on a park and the rating would go south before you really had time to figure out what the park's problems were, and would be virtually impossible to recover from. Oh well, I guess some people will enjoy the challenge. I just found it annoying.
And the look of the game is basically identical. Guests walking around and riding the rides, very cartoony look to everything, same type of staff options, etc. No real changes to what guests do for instance. I didn't really expect much change from what the box showed, but would have been nice to see more.
Overall, I loved all the new rides and options, but it really is just a lot of the same game. If you loved the original, you'll definitely like this game too. But here's hoping a version 3 will show us a bit more innovation.
In terms of expertise, RCT assumes a greater level here in that even the beginner parks ask for what I'd call "tycoon strategy".
This game is sure to keep those whose theme parks are closed for the season happy. Enjoy.
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 has tutorials inside the game so for those of you who never played Roller Coaster Tycoon doesn't have to worry. The main feature of Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is that the map got bigger than the original version. The original version was 128*28 but Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is 256*56. Basically, it got twice bigger. Also, Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 has lots of themes. You can build your own park using jungle, jurassic, space, or ghost theme. There's even more. You can meet the real roller coasters of Six Flags. For examples, 'Deja Vu', 'Medusa', 'Chang', 'V2', 'X', and 'Titan'. The part that I was disappointed was that it didn't have new brand features. Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 is not different from the original version, except that the graphic got a tiny bit better. If you are one of those fans who love Six Flags and roller coasters, I highly recommend this game.

In a nutshell, this game is great. The game looks and plays almost exactly like the original, which involves creating amusment parks and every little detail involved in that process from designing and building the roller coasters, to deciding how much a hot dog should cost. The major new feature is a scenario editor which allows you to create scenarios from the ground up including the land type and size, the amount of money available to you, and the features available as you play.

Roller Coaster Tycoon was a game that you could easily find yourself playing for hours into the wee hours of the night. The expansion packs added more coasters and rides but little else. Now, Version 2 is out and is it worth buying? I would say yes, but in some ways I was a little disappointed.
Honest reviews on RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 - PC
Essentially this is like another add-on to the previous game in that much of what was in the first RCT is still here plus more. A few of the controls have changed, but Sawyer didn't mess too much with a lot of the graphics. However, the tracks and saved games are not compatible with version one. The improvements read like the wish lists from coaster and gamer sites. Significant is the inclusion of a scenario designer. This makes trading games on-line a reality. Also, a sandbox is included which allows the creation of coasters without having to consider the game aspect. Lastly, an improvement to the track options has been included. Most who have played RCT may have noticed the lack of banking on curved drops. RCT2 allows the banked drops on many of its coasters now.In terms of expertise, RCT assumes a greater level here in that even the beginner parks ask for what I'd call "tycoon strategy".
This game is sure to keep those whose theme parks are closed for the season happy. Enjoy.

Infogrames decided not to make an expansion pack to Roller Coaster Tycoon, but to make a sequel to the original.Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 has tutorials inside the game so for those of you who never played Roller Coaster Tycoon doesn't have to worry.

This game was alright, which is why the 3 stars. I don't really have any problem with it but I just wasn't impressed. It's a lot like the first one. The weapons are cool but none any better than the other. I never did upgrade any of my guns because I didn't ever need to. Wielding 2 golden volcano guns is pretty cool looking but not very effective. I pretty much went through then entire game once with each brother. Not much of a difference. One goes up on the roof with his bow and the other stays on the grown with his twin 6-shooters. They both seem to be just as tough and just as stealthy. Didn't find much use for knifes and no matter what I found myself reverting to the lever-action rifle for most gun fights.
The story line is good even better if you played the first COJ. Controls are easy and enemies are kinda smart. The levels where you ride around doing jobs and hunting criminals are just a plain waste of time, I spend 2 hours on one level just to make $500 when the rifle I wanted cost $1200. It's just not worth it.
Graphics are good, sound is good.
Duels are just plain stupid; you have to be perfect to out-gun your opponent which usually took 3-4 times to get right. Just keep trying until you can shoot them all in the leg or lower body, which is all you ever have time to do.
Most of the "dynamic" features are just that, features they don't really add anything to the game play. Throwing knifes and dynamite is great but neither is necessary. The lasso is a waste of time and so are the shooting modes for both brothers. I never once used them for either brother, just wasn't necessary.
To sum it all up, the game is good, it's fun, it's got some amusing gimmicks but most of it is just fluff and not really very important to the actual game. Don't pay full price and don't expect anything too ground breaking.

I was so excited to get this game I'm a huge fan of Glee, I love karaoke, and I've loved all the other Karaoke Revolution games so I thought, "what could be better?!" Well, for starters, I was sorely disappointed that there's no way to turn off the lead vocals so it's a sing-along as opposed to karaoke. Next, the song selection was not that great I initially went through all the songs I liked in the first 30 minutes now I'm left trying to "beat" songs like Gold Digger, Bust a Move, and various mashups. Finally, while it's fun to watch the clips from the show they're really not that great especially since in the show, they don't air the song in its entirety so what happens in the game is they loop the video and the same scenes are repeated. For a game that cost more than fifty dollars, I expected more. It should have included more than just the 20-something songs this game has, have more customizable options, and at least been as fun and interesting as previous versions of Karaoke Revolution.

You can't turn the lead vocals off. That's not karaoke. The song selection isn't so good either. Season 1 had a lot of songs to choose from and what they pick for this game is not exactly the cream of the crop despite some familiar favorites like "Don't Stop Believing" and "I'm Telling You." I expect more for both Glee and Karaoke Revolution. This game was a huge let down.Best Deals for Karaoke Revolution Glee Bundle - Nintendo Wii (Microphone Bundle)
Let me start by saying I LOVE Glee and was super psyched for this game. Most of the songs are from the first half of the first season, and there's no capability for downloadable content. The song selection is awfully small; this game has the vibe that someone wanted it pushed out quickly so they could start making money off of it. I would advise NOT buying this game, and waiting for a sequel release, which will hopefully include songs from ALL of season 1 (and hopefully season 2!) and have an option for downloadable content.Honest reviews on Karaoke Revolution Glee Bundle - Nintendo Wii (Microphone Bundle)
The game should be called "Glee: Sing Along". You basically watch a scene from the show, and sing along with the characters. You cannot turn off the vocals and sing to just music. I agree with other reviewers; it's NOT karaoke.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Karaoke Revolution Glee Bundle - Nintendo Wii (Microphone Bundle)
I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this for my daughter. I was shocked to find out that you couldn't mute the vocals. How is that karaoke? I wanted to hear my daughter sing, not the stars of the show. That being said, she is having a good time playing with it as she loves the show and all the songs.Tuesday, May 6, 2014
FIFA Soccer 12 - Xbox 360 Reviews
I am a lifelong soccer/football fan and player, both in reality and in the video game world. Topping FIFA 11 was not going to be an easy task, but it seems FIFA 12 has beaten its predecessor with flying colors.
The graphics, sound effects, and control are all top notch and are an improvement over FIFA 11 overall, so there is no reason to spend much time talking about them.
What is significant are the new changes to FIFA 12, and how they have affected the gameplay. The most noticeable two are the 1) Tactical defending and 2) Player impact engine.
I will explain both briefly to give newcomers an idea of what to expect.
1) Tactical Defending: Arguably the biggest and most significant change is the new defending system. No longer can you hold down A and B and watch as your defense swarms the hapless attacker automatically
In FIFA 12, you have to position properly and time your tackles well (as in reality) in order to gain possession of the ball. Mis-timed or poor tackles will often result in the attacker blowing past you or a foul and/or booking.
I MUST WARN YOU, that this can be VERY FRUSTRATING at times when you are learning the new system as it is not very forgiving. For those of you intimidated by this there is an option to revert to the old system called "Legacy" (Identical to FIFA 11's system). But I HIGHLY recommend you take the time and effort to master the new defensive system, because it is highly realistic, extremely rewarding when you do that perfect tackle, and required if you want to master online play.
2) Player impact engine: No more ghost players going through each other, players collide with each other when in the same physical space (shocking I know!). This can also result in injuries, some which are horrific and others which are just plain hilarious as your players fly around like ragdolls.
The system isn't perfect and I've heard of a few bugs about it, but I haven't encountered any yet so I can't confirm. It is a welcome change though and, for the most part, adds to the realism of the game.
OVERALL: 9.5/10
This is by far the best soccer/football game out there, and even if you're not a big fan of the sport, chances are that you will enjoy this immensely fun and well designed game. Just about everything has been improved, and the extras (such as support your club) are just icing on the cake.
Now if you'll excuse me, writing this review has already taken enough of my precious FIFA 12 playtime!
Precision Dribbling EA touts this as some sort of significant advancement in the series, but from what I can tell so far it is nothing but a useless control feature that allows you to (very slowly) dribble in tight increments. Basically, it gives your players great close control, but it's so slow that it's useless. Anyone can steal the ball from your player as soon as you activate the precision dribbling controls.
Tactical Defending EA has revamped the defending system by removing the pressure buttons and forcing you to do more of the defending work on your own rather than relying on your CPU defenders to come in and make tackles for you. This has been a pretty controversial feature. Some love it. Some hate it. If you relied on automatic pressure buttons in previous FIFA games then you probably won't like tactical defending at first. Personally, I never used pressure buttons in the first place, so this change suits my style. Having said that, defending against the CPU can be very frustrating, but I blame this more on unrealistic AI than on the defending system itself (more on that later).
Player Impact Engine This is a new feature intended to improve the game physics so that player collisions are more realistic. I can safely say that it is still very much a work in progress. At its best, it does exactly what it's meant to do. At its worst, it creates ridiculous collisions that are unintentionally hilarious because they're so strange looking and unrealistic. Just look on YouTube for some of the laughable stuff you'll see. I wish I could say that the moments of comedy were rare, but you see something "off" almost every match. My guess is that this feature won't be perfected for another year or two.
Head-to-Head Seasons The Head-to-Head Ranked Matches feature from the last few seasons has been overhauled and replaced. Rather than just playing an endless sequence of matches like in years past, this year FIFA has introduced the idea of Head-to-Head Seasons. The basic concept is pretty simple. There are 10 tiers of competition. Everyone starts in level 10 and tries to work their way up to level 1. If you win a match, you get three points. If you draw, you get one point. If you lose, you get nothing. Promotion and relegation depend on the number of points you accumulate in a season (which is 10 games long). The number of required points rises as you move up the different levels. So while it's very easy to get promoted from level 10 to level 9, it's significantly harder to get from level 8 to level 7. This is partially because the required amount of points is higher and partially because your opponents tend to be stronger as you move up the levels. If you get enough points to avoid relegation, but you fail to earn enough points to win promotion to the next league, you stay at your same level and get another chance with a new 10 game season. Please note that there isn't a real "league" to speak of, meaning you don't play against the same 9 teams as everyone else in your league. Rather, you play random opponents within your general level range and your promotion/relegation status depends solely on your point total.
I'm enjoying this new system so far, though I still think they should've left the old ranked matches system in the game as an option. If you want to play a conventional ranked match without any concern for promotion/relegation, you're out of luck. The game mode has been completely replaced by seasons.
One last note on this. The match-making system has changed so that you pick teams BEFORE the CPU matches you up with your opponent. There's no more musical chairs at the team selection screen. This time around you pick your team, make whatever changes you want to make to your lineup, and then press search. The system automatically matches you with an opponent. You don't get to see what team you're playing against until the game has already loaded.
EA Sports Football Club There's a whole host of new features related to your general progress in all modes of FIFA. You now get a type of experience points (EXP) for a variety of minor achievements within the game, such as completing a virtual pro accomplishment or winning a promotion in seasons. You can compare your overall EXP level with your friends. Also, the first time you run the game you will be prompted to choose your favorite team. All of the EXP you gain in the game will go towards your team's total within a competition consisting of all FIFA players. So for example if you are an Arsenal fan then your points will count towards Arsenal's global total. This seems like a cool feature on the surface, but it's really pretty pointless unless they provide some sort of incentive to care.
Challenges As part of the Football Club, EA has introduced a challenges feature. The basic idea is that you have a chance to re-write history by assuming the controls of a scripted match scenario from a recent real life match. For example, yesterday's challenge involved recreating Dortmund's recent comeback victory against Mainz. If you chose to accept the challenge, you played as Dortmund against the CPU starting in the ~60th minute down 1-0, needing to come back and win at least 2-1 in order to successfully complete the challenge and collect the EXP reward. This game mode is kinda fun, but nothing special really.
There may be a few other new features that I'm forgetting, but these are the big ones.
As for some of the holdovers, I have some thoughts on those as well...
Career Mode So far it doesn't seem quite as in depth as FIFA 10's career mode, but it's a big improvement over the awful career mode of FIFA 11. EA seems to have taken a few pages out of Football Manager's playbook. As manager of a team, you once again have the ability to send scouts around the world to find those future stars for your club. The transfer system has been improved and the news feed has been revamped to provide more interesting stories. The overall presentation is better and the silly loading speed of the calendar seems to have been improved. I thought career mode was a huge disappointment in FIFA 11, but it's been improved significantly this year.
Ultimate Team This year EA is giving away Ultimate Team for free on launch. If you aren't familiar with this feature, it's a trading card game where you build a custom team from "packs" of players that you earn through match coins or by spending real money. The best aspect of this game mode is that it lets you play online with unique squads that you wouldn't otherwise get to use (i.e. Ronaldo, Messi, Llorente in the same front line). There are some downsides though. Ultimate Team features a "chemistry" system that restricts your ability to build truly unique teams. For example, if you put players from different leagues and national teams in the same Ultimate Team then your chemistry will be low and your performance will suffer. So while the game sells itself as Ultimate Team, you really can't build your dream squad. And then there's the $$$ issue. While it is technically possible to assemble a great Ultimate Team without spending any real money, it's very difficult. The game is designed to STRONGLY encourage you to spend real money on packs. Personally, I would resist the temptation. It's not worth it, especially with the game destined to be obsolete in a mere 12 months.
Virtual Pro Virtual Pro is back again. You have the opportunity to create one player that you can use online and offline in a variety of game modes. As your player completes various accomplishments in the game, his stats gradually improve. If you played FIFA 11 then you know everything you need to know about Virtual Pro. It hasn't changed much at all in FIFA 12. Neither has the Pro Clubs feature or the Pro Ranked Match feature, although both modes seem to be working smoothly on launch this year unlike in FIFA 11.
And finally some general thoughts on the gameplay for people who played FIFA 11.
After being absurdly overpowered last season, crossing has been nerfed. It is still effective in certain situations, but not nearly as reliable as it was last season. Offensive players still seem to possess an insane ability to win the ball over clueless defenders who inexplicably stand still. The main difference this year seems to be the difficulty of providing good service. I'm finding that my crosses into the box are much more erratic and prone to missing the area completely.
The CPU AI has been overhauled. Assuming that you play on one of the higher difficulties, CPU players are GODLY defenders who have psychic abilities to anticipate your movement and intervene with a perfectly timed challenge 100% of the time. They block shots and dispossess you like it's going out of style, and they almost NEVER get called for fouls. You can go 3...4...5 games against the CPU without getting even a single free kick in a dangerous position. They can crash into you and bowl you over without drawing a whistle. Annoying. What's even more annoying is the offensive AI. If you play on one of the higher difficulties like World Class or Legendary, scrub players from fourth tier English sides will suddenly acquire world class field vision, touch, and dribbling skills. It's like playing against Barcelona...except it's really Dag & Red. With a bit of experience you can learn to compensate by anticipating their anticipation, but it's just annoying at times and nowhere near realistic.
Like the previous FIFA games, the gameplay is too robotic. The computer never really makes "mistakes" like real human beings. There are just a handful of recurrent situations that you can exploit against them over and over again to keep scoring. The cutback and finesse shot combination in the box is still lethal. The finesse shot is still a guaranteed goal if you're 1-on-1 with the keeper. On the flipside, the keeper will almost never get beaten from close range and will never spill an easy save like humans occasionally do. This is annoying and it would annoy me a lot more if not for the fact that I mostly play online, where there is a lot more randomness.
OVERALL: This isn't the perfect soccer game, but there's enough here to justify a purchase if you like soccer or sports games in general. If you liked FIFA 10 or FIFA 11 then I think you'll like FIFA 12 once you become familiar with the gameplay. It hasn't changed a whole lot, but there are some little differences that will take some getting used to.
FIFA 12, like Madden 12, represents all of the love/hate that fans have had for the franchise over the years. Because truthfully, most of the changes in this year's FIFA iteration are small tweaks.
Let's start off with the fact that if you bought EA's Season pass (20 bucks) you get the entire game downloaded to your PS 3 or 360 for nothing extra. The entire game, not a demo. You are then free to go in and start your career mode, download your game face etc. It lasts right up to the point of the actual day of release. If you are a hardcore EA Sports gamer, this will be up your alley because for 1 year you can get any EA Sports title and if you feel like it sucks, you lost nothing except money for the access and a few hours. Your miles may vary.
As for the game itself, the presentation screens remain largely unchanged from last year's presentation short of the menu bars scroll at the bottom as opposed to the left side like last year and for some it really feels at this point that you paid money for a roster update, but wait, here is where the small stuff kicks in that will determine your value of the game.
The EA Sports Football Club has been implemented that gives you XP for things you do within a game and it levels you up accordingly and also if you support a particular club everything that YOU and all of those supporting it does, goes into the pot and everyone levels together. Another side of this is that you get challenges to complete that earns you XP and unlockables. The challenge this week was to bring Chelsea back from their 1-3 deficit against Man Utd which starts you off at the 49' mark. After 3 tries, I still haven't gotten past because there is so much I want to see and do.
The Career mode was where I really enjoyed myself on this game and again it looks largely unchanged except now, if you choose to be a player manager, it's a little bit more involved. Some of the transfers are indeed a bit more realistic (not to mention that the rosters are already updated to current status) and as an added touch, you get tips and warnings similar to FIFA Manager about how to go after players; if you go after players that play with your rival, you will get told that it will cost you a bit more. Also, the AI is a bit more aggressive about coming after players and that is one thing that was lacking from last year's iteration. You may receive more that 3 or 4 offers for a particular player, but what I wished for is that if a team really wanted my player, is that if they were denied, they would come back with a higher offer.
Also during the course of the season, players will tell when they are unhappy or feel good about the team so pay attention to the morale of the team. The one thing that this lacked as opposed to FIFA Manager was the ability to talk to a player and have it affect their morale. The only way right now that you can get it up is to simply get them into the game. One other like I have is that as news articles are highlighted, you can click on them to read the full story. Also by using the right stick you can highlight which story you want to see. The press conference is a bit forgettable whereas a question may be asked about a match, you answer it, and...that's it. Nothing else. FIFA Manager handled this a bit better showing you if morale went up or down or if your popularity with fans went up or down. The press conference is just another tacked on extra that should have been fleshed out as good as if not better than FIFA manager.
So with all that said, how is the gameplay? It's fine but there's one last bug I have to talk about and then I can get to it. The biggest little bug I have encountered so far is that the AI may have the game scheduled at one time but the lighting effect shows another. I had a game scheduled for 8pm. Once the game started up, the lighting effect was 1pm that afternoon which threw me off simply because it was a minor annoyance, but after seeing this happen 2 more times, it was irritating. I am hoping that this is fixed with the game disc release but who knows.
Gameplay itself is mostly unchanged but one thing I did note is that there are additional sliders in the game settings you can set to control the pace of the game. You can change yours or the AI's sprinting speed, pass control, shot power and more. Otherwise it's the FIFA game everybody knows. As far as the tactical defending, it's definitely a game changer. And this is the small addition which is the biggest and most noticeable difference in FIFA 12. When using the Tactical Defending controls, it actually allows you to do your best to contain a player and force passes and keep attackers from easily pushing up and down the pitch. If I didn't say so before, play the tutorial at the very beginning of the game to get a feel for it, you won't regret it.
Also I have seen possessions won and lost based on how hard players play on the ball because of the push/pull button; there is definitely a lot more jostling and shirt pulling this year and it's not as simple to just take a ball away from someone like last year's edition. Also I do like that if you hold a bumper button another player can be called over to help contain an attacking player. If you don't like the tactical defense, supposedly it can be turned off but I haven't attempted to yet because it feels a bit better.
I haven't experienced any of the graphical glitches so far that has been reported to have cropped up but one thing I have noticed that a lot of player models haven't been changed or aren't 100% correct. Patrice Evra is still a bit too dark considering his skin tone and David De Gea is clean shaven and I wish I had a way to edit that! Wayne Rooney of course is sporting his weave and Bacary Sagna sports his 2 tone short locks. There are of course many new animations added because of the new engine involved and yeah....the game does move well and the dribbling has improved also. You will notice more realistic tackles and tangles because of it, even if you run into your own player. I feel like I do have a little more control over moving the ball around and not losing it simply because someone got close enough to swipe it away from me it may have something to do with them moving the dribble button off of the face button onto the left bumper which gives users an easier way to get to it.
This year you have 2 choices for your commentary team and I have used both and so far, not bad but EA still needs to take notes from 2K Sports on how to do commentary. 2K games such as NBA 2K11 had a dynamic system where the commentators could take stats from a previous game you have played and inject them into the game that you are currently playing. Why for the life of me can't EA do this for Madden and FIFA franchises? Laziness? Wouldn't it be nice to know that your player who shot 60% on target on a team he faced twice last season could do it again today, how many clean sheets he had or that critical yellow card and you know this because of the commentary? Wishful thinking, I know, but then I won't rant on about the static looking and sounding crowds either.
I think the only other minuses I still have is the exclusion of the UEFA Cup (why EA just simply couldn't rename it something else is beyond me) and many of the stadiums are still not in the game.
I have not played any games online as of yet, nor have I been able make time to try Football Ultimate Team but I will do so upon release of the disc on Tuesday, so obviously I cannot comment on that aspect.
In the end however, FIFA 12's minor changes especially those in the Career mode and tactical defending is what will keep you playing. There are a lot of minor additions to the GUI and menu interface that gamers wanted and getting but probably wanted more control out of. But, the only ones who will be hard pressed to buy this are the same ones, who like myself, get sick of the minor updates for 60 bucks (like Madden Football) and are hoping for more. At least for futbol fans, you do have an alternative: PES 2012. As long as you can live without the licenses, you are ok.
Otherwise, FIFA has a good game on its hands, the minor stuff goes a long way to making it a better game but it's some of the larger issues, that keeps it from being a great game.

The Career mode was absolutely terrible in FIFA 11 and way too easy in FIFA 10. Now it's much better. The buying and selling of players is a lot more realistic. Players values are more accurate now then ever. Also the negotiation process is more timely and you'll get players putting in transfer requests and teams trying to buy your non-listed players. Players also continue to grow when on loan. Overall it's a massive step forward. One of the better additions was the "Transfer Day" mode which allows you to go by the hour so you can squeeze in last minute transfers. Another huge improvement was the fact player growth actually works. It's no longer the case where a player only goes up 1-2 levels in 10 seasons despite being the best player in the league. If they play well, they grow. Obviously certain players grow more than others and at a faster rate, but it's much better than before.

EA still hasn't managed to get the players movement right at all. Wingers don't make runs down the wings. Full backs don't offer width unless they are WIDE open. Players stop and start runs. There is no intelligence in any of the movement. It's really quite bad. This has been a major issue for years now. It's as if the FIFA developers are more interested in working on the skill moves then making the game play realistic.
My biggest issue is EA hasn't fixed the pressure defense. You still can't get your defense to tightly mark their man. If I spend £25m on a 85 CB, I expect him to win battles against a 72 ST, yet I can't even get the man to get tight enough to challenge him immediately. It's incredibly difficult to play a high pressure defense. It's not difficult, it's impossible. I've tried every setting. I've pressed every button. It's simply impossible.
Running speed. If I'm a speedster and I'm playing against some fat CB from a nothing team, I'm going to run by him if I get a step. It's just a fact of life. Since FIFA 11, they've completely ignored the idea that faster players should run past slower players. Now it's all about strength and fighting off tackles. Forget the fact you ran past them already. Nope, that player is still going to catch up to you (magically it seems) and tackle you.
New Issues:
The skill levels are completely broken. Before the game just got more difficult as the difficulty went up. Pro vs World Class they'd tackle better, pass more accurately, dribble with more purpose. Now? They're perfect. It's like every player is Messi. Go to make a tackle? They role by you. I literally played a game as a striker one day to see what my defense would do. I had 28% of the possession. They presses me off the field and had a 85% pass completion number. This was the Seattle Sounders playing the NY Redbulls. There is making the game harder and just making it stupid. I basically have abandoned career mode because it's no fun, despite all the massive improvements.
The impact engine. Now instead of running into people like they are walls, you jump around them. Good, right? Not really. It leaves you hopping around the field at times looking like a fool. Want to make a quick stop? Impossible. They had a good idea fixing this because it was horrible in FIFA 11, and I think they are closer now, but they are still very far away. Some of the collisions and moves made with this new engine are just so unrealistic. You can go on youtube to see what I mean.
Overall: If you don't like soccer/football and don't expect players to move to certain positions and don't understand high pressure defenses and what kind of marking you'd expect when you have the opponent pinned back in their half, you'll probably like this game. If you're a nut about proper movement and getting players to make proper runs and defend in different styles, this game is still as broken as ever.

FIFA has been my favorite game for the past couple years, so pre-ordering the latest version was a no-brainer for me. I've played roughly 15-20 hours of FIFA 12 since release and I'm pretty pleased with my purchase overall. Here are some quick notes from a hardcore FIFA player about what's new in this year's game:Precision Dribbling EA touts this as some sort of significant advancement in the series, but from what I can tell so far it is nothing but a useless control feature that allows you to (very slowly) dribble in tight increments.

There is always that love/hate that people have with EA Sports games. People love it because they know that when EA makes a game, you are going to get almost everything you could ever imagine in a sports game. The license, the players and so on. And then, there are the things that you HATE about EA games. With them scooping up licenses, they tend to keep their competition (Yes Madden I am looking at you!!!) down unfairly and make their games unplayable, they change game elements and sometimes they even take small things out (how much is it to ask for to get a decent halftime show, ask 2K Sports to educate you on how to make a proper sports presentation) that really immerses you into a game.FIFA 12, like Madden 12, represents all of the love/hate that fans have had for the franchise over the years.

I'm a pretty big FIFA fan. It's always been a flawed game in a lot of ways but typically EA tries to fix things. FIFA 12 has taken huge steps forwards in fixing things they destroyed in FIFA 11 but glanced over some huge issues and in typical EA fashion, broke the game in a lot of ways as well.Fixed:

Best Limited Edition Mountain Dew Xbox Deals
Alright. Everyone else just seems to be posting and yelling at each other about what exactly it is. A couple summers ago, Mountain Dew ran a sweepstakes, and everytime you bought a case of Mountain Dew you got entered to win one of these Xboxes. I got lucky and actually won one. It's exactly the same as any other xbox besides how it looks (the lime green color) and the Mountain Dew label on the top. It's good if you collect stuff like this-but if you're not planning on keeping it and just playing it-might as well not waste that much money on one. And like everyone is saying it is NOT an Xbox 360. It's just a limited edition NORMAL Xbox =)
Bottom line, the color choice is personal, and yes... $900-$275-$200 is probably a bit steep for this system, but the prices now are definitely reasonable and I imagine you'd have less issues with this machine than you would say, buying one at gamestop for $60. I love this system, even regardless of the deal I got on it.
It gets the full five stars from me. I just wish amazon would remove these dated comments that have nothing to do with the system itself, because idiots thought it was a 360. It's obviously the same XBox with a different colored casing and it's an excellent edition of the XBox.
I never had any problems with this xbox. I used this for years for games and movies. I agree that $900 is to much for one (unless somebody wants to give that) . System was still cool though and as for the cost, well that comes down to whatever someone wants to pay.
Just wanted to throw this up here incase people wanted to hear about it first hand from someone who actually won one.

Okay, I haven't seen any honest reviews of this system and since I've had mine for over a year now, I figured I'd put a review up for it. This system, as mentioned, was free from codes. I acquired mine at a yard sale and have found it to be a very good, dependable XBox. See, long before the 360's RROD, XBox had other problems. Namely, the first set had lousy DVD-Rom drives. I know as I watched my friend tears his apart to fix them. This system, doesn't have that. It was created later using the better DVD-Rom drive. The only problem I've had with it is the DVD rom drawer not opening properly on occassion, but that has gone away after using the paperclip trick.Bottom line, the color choice is personal, and yes... $900-$275-$200 is probably a bit steep for this system, but the prices now are definitely reasonable and I imagine you'd have less issues with this machine than you would say, buying one at gamestop for $60. I won one of these when mountain dew was doing that bottle cap promotion for the incredible hulk. The xbox came with a black controler, the incredible hulk game, and the green xbox. The packaging box was excactly the same as a black xbox except for it had a sticker on it that said limited edition.I never had any problems with this xbox. I used this for years for games and movies. I agree that $900 is to much for one (unless somebody wants to give that) .
