These weer just what i was looking for. They are made of high quality aluminum and feel absolutely amazing, The controls are so more responsive. The only thing i wish was that the controller thumb rest had a rounded rubberized tip like the PS3 controllers. all the tips the manufacturer stocks are sad comparisons to the feel of a stock thumb stick tip.

I recently put together 3 custom controllers using chrome shells, short button throws, and modsticks. I used these grabber orange sticks on green chrome shells. Totally hot.

Okay, I don't write many reviews unless the item makes a huge impact in the quality of life, and this one did.

1. This adapter is multi-functional and everyone should have at least one of these in their home.

a. This adapter will hook up to your PS3, and Xbox 360 with ease and run flawlessly

b. This item can also be used on various other devices such as your Direct T.V. box and your internet ready T.V. if your T.V didn't come with a wireless interface. For example, my Mitsubishi 73738 didn't come with a wireless card built in, so I connected one of my Madcatz adapter to its Ethernet port to obtain internet for the T.V. Likewise, you can use this device to give your Direct T.V. box access to the internet without using a hard line. I am using an HR-22 box from Direct T.V. just so you know.

Hook up is not that hard, I bypassed the CD entirely and hooked it up manually. However, this can be a pain for anyone who has not hooked up a device like this manually before. I will leave the procedure below to help you set yours.

1. Whatever computer you plan to configure this device with, disconnect it from the internet, UNLESS its hooked up wirelessly, then you can leave it connected.

2. go into your configuration for your ethernet port on your computer and change the IP address to 10.10.10.4 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0

3. After you do that, connect the Madcatz adapter to your Ethernet port. Next, open a browser and type in 10.10.10.254 and hit enter. You should now be looking at the login screen for your Madcatz adapter. Both the username and password is admin.

4. Once your logged into the adapter, select the folder that says, Site Survey.

5. Click the radio button next to your router or the router you want this device to use for the internet, then select Add Profile.

6. A window will pop up. Add in the same encryption that is on your router here along with the phrase or keyword used to access this router. When you are done here, click apply and your done. Dont forget to set your computers IP address back to "Obtain IP by DHCP" or whatever it was set to prior to configuring this Mad Catz Adapter. Incidentally, I am currently on the internet using the mad catz adapter on my laptop.

Side notes, and summary;

1. You must changed your computers LAN (Local Area Connection) IP address (not your Wireless Network Connection) to 10.10.10.4; subnet 255.255.255.0 do not skip this step

2. Hook up Madcatz to your Ethernet Port, bring up a browser, type 10.10.10.254, and login using username; admin, password admin

3. Access and configure ONLY the Site Survey folder, don't open any other folder, YOU DON'T NEED THEM!. If you do, and you dont know what your doing, consider yourself screwed.

4. Select your router in the list of routers you see and hit Add Profile. 9 times out of 10, this area will already be configured with the encryption of your router. The only thing you normally have to update is the encryption phrase or passkey. Your adapter will normally pull all the information it needs to configure itself, however it will need you to enter whatever the passkey or phrase is.

5. Click apply, close the browser, disconnect the router from your computer and hook it up to your Xbox to test.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND

1. Be aware that your router maybe older and if you haven't updated the firmware in awhile, now maybe a good time. This is a newer device.

2. If this device disconnects from the network periodically, it may have lost its DHCP address and needs a new one. I suggest telling your router to lease the address to the MadCatz Adapter indefinitely, so there is no overlap and conflicting addresses.

3. I strongly suggest using the Web based application only to set up this device. Contrary to earlier post by others, you DO NOT need the CD to set this device up through Web based.

4. Finally, if you set this device up correctly, its extremely fast. Its faster than my D-Link USB Wireless N. Testing this device against a USB D-LINK wireless N was no contest. The madcatz adapter hooked up to my laptop performed faster, downloading page request from the internet quickly. As noted earlier, this device can be used to provide wireless to a range of devices to include, desktop computers, laptops, Xbox360, internet ready T.V's, PS3, DIRECTV and so on (I've tested this device on most of these).

Good luck!

I'd thought mine was broken cause I was following all the instructions from various sources. It turns out there's one thing you MIGHT have to do that no one mentioned to me. I'll note a couple of small issues here some people might get caught by.

1. One reviewer on a different website claimed their unit didn't hold it's settings if it was powered off. This may cause problems in using the adapter for some, but mine didn't have that problem.

2. In my case, the only thing that was actually holding me back from getting it to work? The xbox 360 needed to be set back to it's factory defaults. After that it connected like a charm, no problem in the slightest.

I don't really know any other tips to give that aren't covered right there in the manual, it's really very simple besides such small issues.

This wireless N adapter works flawlessly. The nay sayers consider it an inconvenience to have to connect it to your PC first but it's easy as 1-2-3. It takes less than 3 minutes to configure and you are up and running. I was lucky enough to pick this up from an Amazon seller for $20.00 and is well worth the $49.00 that most Amazon sellers are selling it for. It's cheaper than the Microsoft adapter and well worth it. The other reviewers must have had other home network issues because it is a breeze to get up and running. I was enable to configure it in Windows 7 64 Bit with zero problems. There are many negative revies on this product here at Amazon but let me tell you this thing has worked flawlessly quite a few days now. The key is not to use auto channel selection within your wireless router settings. This thing is so easy to configure Stevie Wonder could do it. You don't have to be a computer tech to set it up. If you just use the disc that comes with it and follow the on screen instructions you should have no problem. If you find yourself in the network adapter properties of your computer in Windows 7 just keep clicking every item in the box until the property tab allows you to select it. Then set the ip to the one suggested on setup. When you'r done just change it back to obtain ip address automatically. If you set it up properly you wont be dissapointed.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360/PS3 - Wireless Gaming Network

After reading over many of the other reviews I thought to my self, "I can do this." I really didn't think it would be a big deal at all.

My first attempt to get this thing hooked up I chose to configure it via the web method with the CD. I went through all of the steps which the CD lays out for you very well. Step by step it really only take about 15 minutes using the CD. However after finishing the process I went back to my 360 hooked it up fired it up and....NOTHING. So that made me a little frustrated.

The Second attempt: I go back to my router and I knew that I had a WPS button on my router so I decide to give that method a shot. Again the CD walks a person through all of the steps very well and leaves fairly little room for human error so long as you are able to follow instructions. However this all ended with the same result. So now I'm not frustrated. I'm Mad. I just paid a bunch of money for an item that does not work. So I gave myself a cooling off period and I let it be for a few days.

Third Attempt: I decide to go back and do the web method again and follow the CD walk-through again. Maybe I did something wrong the first time. I go through all of the steps and hook it back up and to my surprise it tapped right into X Box Live and I was on playing Modern Warfare 2 without any problems....

However soon after that I found that it was having an increasing difficulty connecting with my router. I found that rebooting the modem sometimes helps, rebooting the router helps sometimes, rebooting the product under review helped sometimes. However now it does not seem to be working well at all as I have not been able to get onto X Box live for three days now and this is more than a little annoying. In this case read the negative reviews and understand the risk you are taking before you buy this plastic piece of garbage.

If I were to start this over again. I would by the Microsoft adapter and would have been done with it.

Added this beast to the group and opened up new characters to the game. Enjoyed the adventure it brings to the game, works with both spyro and giants platforms.

Ugh.... obvious point-out aside. I had a feeling that Zook would be a fun character to play (and NOT just because he's a walking, Rastafarian-accented, bamboo guy with a bamboo bazooka.), over all, he's a decently reliable far-range-attack Skylander, a few notches down from Flameslinger and Gill Grunt. He also has MIRV mortars which allow an elevated attack (with a pineapple missile, lol), and he "grows" a barrier to slow down oncoming enemies, making him more effective at KEEPING his enemies far. His speed is good, but his armor and attack lack a bit (at first, until you boost with with challenges).

His tactics.... along WITH being a reggae plant-man with an awesome, somewhat scruffy face with a big toothy grin... makes him a worthy add-on to your Skylander cast.

Bought this to complete the collection and found it to be a great character on the game and worth having over other Skylanders in I and my kids prime lineup. It has since been released in Skylanders Giants with a new look but same functionality. However I still have the original and it works on all three games so far. Great character for the game.

My 10 y/o son LOVES this game! I am usually pretty careful about how much and which video games I let him play (this is the only "T" rated game he has, and he only has 1 E-10 game, everything else he has is "E" rated). The action/violence level is relatively tame -all cartoon characters battling eachother, no blood, no visible injuries, the character who loses the battle kind of flies out of the scene. The battling itself isn't very graphic, with highly fictionalized "weapons." That said, my son and his friends love the game, lots of interesting "level-ups" and plot twists, plus fun characters you'll recognize from elsewhere.

I wasn't much of a console gamer for a long time after the N64, but one game that stood out on it was Super Smash Bros. Fast forward to 2008 and I broke down and got a Wii for the party-gaming potential. I have not been disappointed. Yesterday, this game arrived.

Oh boy. This is a heck of a lot of fun. The number of things to do is incredible. You can even practice your character's moves against your choice of inert or active opponents. Nintendo seems to have intended this game to be epic as they not only include an in-game retrospective of the entire line of Nintendo gaming products going back all the way to the NES, they include time-limited trial versions of the classic games.

Wifi works wonderfully. Online matches are frantic and fun.

One odd thing is that the wireless pointer feature of your wii controller is completely inert once you load the game. This is one area where they shouldn't have stuck to their rootsit feels silly to move a token with the analog joystick when I could theoretically just point at the character I want to use. But you get used to it.

If you have a kid, he will spend months getting all the unlocks (there are lots). If you have a kid inside you, you will rediscover some console joy.

The maps are pretty amusing/crazy. They touch on many themes/ideas from previous Nintendo works. Put it this way: There is a Pictochat map. The terrain is drawn as you play... Many maps have destructible terrain or areas you cannot jump up through, which adds a strategic element.

The characters are varied and seem very well-balanced against each other. (Aside: I love how the announcer says "KING DEDEDE" so seriously.)

If you are completely new to the game, you still have a pretty good shot at winning by button-mashing, which I consider a good feature. If you have mastered the combos and moves however, you still have the advantage.

I haven't played the adventure mode much but it is also fun.

You pretty much have to buy this game if you own a Wii. This is as much a Wii-defining game as Super Mario Galaxy or Wii Sports is.

Best Deals for Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Even though I was Nintendo label die-hard and fan of their coin-op franchise from the beginning, Super Smash Bros or brawl titles in general haven't interested me too much.

So the most anticipated title of 2008 wasn't guaranteed to strike my electric fancy. But, when you add WI-FI play for free online brawling and custom controls in order to configure anything from the Wii controllers to the old school (4 variations on play) you've got me curious. Add to that the longest list of cross-title cross-era characters ever produced (Thirtysomethings: remember "Battle of the Network Stars" ). Characters from `87s' Kid Icarus (Pit) and Metal Gear's Snake, Pikachu and various Pokemon. Loads of Mario characters including the man himself: Diddy and Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong dating from Mario's 1981 coin-op premiere of the title of the same name), Wario, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Bowser, and more. Other melee cameos include the Ice Climbers, Metroids' Zero Suit Samus, Kirby, King Dedede and his Meta Knight, Sonic, LINK & Zelda (from '86 and on), Star Fox, Lucas & friends from Mother 3... and lots of other unlockables. Some noteable, but Non-playable, assist trophies include Devil from Devil World, Star Fox's Andross, Mr. Resetti from Animal Crossing, Little Mac from Tyson's Punch-Out and even Excitebike ('85) is on the scene. What is particularly cool about these appearances is the consistency of style for each character regardless of genre or era of the characters. Nintendo has outdone itself on graphics on this one, even when they are "dumbing" down the graphics for cross-game effect. The sound effects are true to this as well, with as many retro SFXs as cool new ones.

Options for play include Solo vs. PC, Multiplayer play vs. 3 friends or on-line options. Other options include the Classic game (you beat `em you advance) or a storyplay campaign which is surprisingly worthwhile. The variety of Brawl locations and is amazingly broad as are the detailing of each location gimmicks. From Yoshi's Island to a stadium to the exterior of a StarFox ship sailing the stratosphere, this alone will extend the life of BRAWL's replay longevity. Characters move satisfyingly fluid, and their variety per character is exciting.

The Mini-games are fun and nice samplings of other titles, both new and old. If fact, many of these made me ready to seek out some games I hadn't looked at before. If anything BRAWL is a great sampler title.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to be top of the "4 player fighting" genre for some time to come, I think. Well worth the release push-back.

Honest reviews on Super Smash Bros. Brawl

We can play for hours doing different things different ways. My kids are 7,7,8,16,16,20 and we never get bored of playing this game. There are plenty of options for playing teams, opposition, or single player. The configurations and characters are almost endless. The review title says it all. I wish they could just figure out how to make it a motion sensitive game; When you jump it jumps; when you swing, it swings.

During the past year, Nintendo really showed what it takes with the success of the Wii. Dominant games like The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess and the definitive Super Mario Galaxy, really proved the Wii with its ultimate gameplay. But, that success has also been as a dominant question with Super Smash Brothers Brawl. While its prequel, Smash Brothers Melee was the biggest-selling title from Nintendo's last home console, the Gamecube, many still had wondered if Nintendo was going to be able to top that outrageous game of madness and excitement. Well, Nintendo has done it, and taken the brawl to a whole new level of fierceness. Its time to brawl!!

Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the Nintendo Wii, is one of the most anticipated games to be released this year, and it absolutely dominates the competition. The gameplay is very addictive as you play with all your favorite classics characters like Mario, the adorable Yoshi, Link, the fierce Bowser and many others. There are also a lot of new characters here to unlock too like Sonic The Hedgehog, Wario, King Dedede from Kirby's Dream Land, Diddy Kong and Olimar from the overlooked Pikmin series. There are also secondary characters which have been added as well, that come and assist you to the depth of the gameplay like the Nintendogs, which block the screen so you can't see where your opponents are during the game, and Andross from the Star Fox series. The graphics look great, and appeal to each and every level you can challenge on from the abstractism of Warioware, to the madness of racing along the Mario Raceway from Mario Kart. Each level is packed with excitement for gamers of all ages.

The control is also new to some gamers, and traditional for veterans too, as you can manuver your favorite characters 4 different ways: the Wii Remote alone, the Wii and Nunchuck controller, the Wii's classic controller and even the Nintendo Gamecube controller. The Wii controller and nunchuck take awhile to get used to, but the classic and Gamecube controllers work very well, making it simple and addictive gameplay. On top of that, you also can now challenge against others not just in the living room, but you can now also play against other Brawlers online through Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection, which makes the gameplay even more addictive for anyone who wants to brawl farther than they've ever done before.

All in all, Super Smash Brothers Brawl is a must buy for anyone who owns the Nintendo Wii. It is just great from start to finish and brings in every depth of excitment and gameplay for a super smash for anyone who has the need to smash the competition. It is definitely a great game all around and a great addition to your Wii video game library.

Review of Playstation 3 250GB System - Slim (Redesign)

Playstation 3 250GB System - Slim
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Of course it can play video games and that should be its primary function. It does this well. The online Playstation store makes it easy to browse titles and even better, download free demos. This model (250 GB Slim redesign) comes with enough stock memory to last you a good while, whether you're storing games, music, or movies. I personally like the sliding cover over a retractable disc tray. It eases the placement of the discs so I don't feel like I have to be as delicate, not to mention it's easy to see any dust accumulation and/or access the laser for cleaning. And I don't know that there's problems with the disc tray, but the less moving parts the better. You can hear some of the disc reading noises, but it's usually short lived and not really bothersome anyways. I've had it running night after night, sometimes for 6 hours continuous and it's not getting hot at all...just a slight warmth.

I also now use it to stream Netflix, through which we watch all kinds of TV shows and movies. I would recommend an HDMI cable though, assuming you have a TV capable of supporting it. It makes a noticeable difference in the resolution. The settings can usually be used on default and are fairly intuitive, but there's a wealth of things you can change or tweak to suit your needs. For example I have my HDMI cable running to my TV, but also have the RG cables running to my PA mixer for even bigger sound. But to allow this you have to allow it to split audio outputs first.

There's probably an overabundance of other reviews about its usage, so I'll just close with a glowing recommendation. I played my PS2 for over a decade (still running btw, but obviously no longer in use). This system blows it away. With the PS4 coming out later this year, you might be wary of getting an "outdated" system. If you haven't had this generation system yet, I'd say now is the perfect time to get one. There's literally years worth of games to choose from, many of which are under $20 brand new. And don't expect developers to abandon the PS3 for at least 3-5 more years, and even then, you probably couldn't play everything that's already been released (my Amazon wishlist has over 100 games). So far I've bought one game used and 4 games new, yet the total spent was only about $60...or about as much as a new release game.

One other note: I bought mine used. It showed absolutely no signs of wear, but it was missing 2 of the 4 rubber feet on the bottom. I haven't missed them. Provided you have some level of trust with the seller, I'd say go ahead and buy used if you see a good deal that clearly specifies what's included. They're seemingly sturdy systems. Although I wouldn't get one of the older models, especially a "fat", as those ran hot and tended to have YLOD problems. That being said, the brand new systems are hardly a ripoff either, especially if you're getting a bundle.

After reading reviews I decided used was my best option. The console plays like brand new and I haven't run into any issues. The controller had a button that sticks occasionally, but overall this is a great purchase for those who aren't ready to pay for the next gen.

Best Deals for Playstation 3 250GB System - Slim (Redesign)

Disclaimer: I'm a first time Playstation buyer. I just upgraded from my trusty, yet very old Wii. I am very new to Playstation, so I won't be able to tell you a lot about how it differs from other Playstations.

I had owned a Wii for around 4 years when I decided it was time for an upgrade. My Wii was pretty good, but it didn't have the controller, graphics, or games that I wanted. So, I began a week-long search for a console. I new one thingit had to be able to play NCAA football and Madden, since I am a complete sports geek XD. So, that narrowed it down to two systemsthe Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. I looked at prices, controllers, layout, games, settings, build, graphics, processors, everything. The Xbox won in almost everything but the price, since you have to pay $60 a year for a Xbox Live Gold membership, which I certainly didn't want to pay. I didn't really know what to expect from either, so I wen't ahead and took a gamble on the PS3. I've never made a better decision. The thing runs like a dream, with only a few laggy spots at very hard-to-process moments. But don't worry, the lag isn't bad at all, and only stays around for 2-3 seconds. No biggie. The layout is great, and easy to access. I bought a bundle with the eye and move, so I could still have that Wii-like aspect if I wanted it. Both controllers work great, and are easy to use. Now, I will get into the real review.

Build-

I bought the PS3 Super Slim, and it is very small. It's actually only around two inches taller then the Wii. You press a button to open the Disc Slot, and simply put the disc in and close the 'door' firmly. It actually is quite fun to close the door. You actually feel like you are manually putting in some software, which is fun. And yes, I do like the simple things in life :) One more thingA lot of reviews say that this console is rather flimsy. I haven't had any problems at all. Honestly, please don't believe what the other reviews say. It really isn't flimsy.

Games-

I only really play Sports games on this, so I can't really review how the first-person shooters look on the PS3, since I'm not really into those. However, seeing how it runs with NCAA and Madden, I don't think you'd have any problems playing GTA 5, Call of Duty, or anything else.

Hardware-

The version I bought comes with 250gb of space, which is way more then I'll ever need. It's processor is fast, the graphics are great, and it really does run like a dream. Of course, it won't equal a mid/high-range gaming pc, but for the ps3 games made for it, this console will work just fine.

Controller-

At first, I didn't like this controller, but it's easy to get used to, and fairly easy to use. Certainly an upgrade from the motion stick that the Wii used :)

Overall-

Honestly, this thing will run just fine for you. It does exactly what a console shouldstays out of the way, is quiet, and lets you immerse yourself in your game, without worrying about what the console is doing. After all, it's more about the content then the console. As long as it runs without lag, I think we are all okay. By the way, I should mention that while the Xbox charges $60 a year for online gaming, Netflix and Hulu+, the Playstation charges nothing. That finalized the deal for me. I actually was able to save even more by purchasing this from Ebay, which brought the bundle's total down from $275 to $225.

Anyway, I recommend this product 100%, and I hope I helped you with your decision.

I'm happy with the purchase. It's often loud at times, but I haven't ran into any freezing like my first PS3 Slim.

I ordered Family Feud to use at a Thanksgiving family party. What a dud! You have to type in your answers using the controller, which is very difficult to do even if you are a kid who plays Wii all the time. And to make matters worse, you are timed while you type. Therefore, many answers could not even be entered in time to count. I would have returned this in a heartbeat if we had not opened it to try out. Don't buy!

I have a lot of the best sellers for the Wii games, but this one caught my attention simply because I love the television game show Family Feud. So I figured what the heck, I;ll give it a try. It is really cute. Mind you it isn't for the person looking for complex, detailed games, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to play along or figure the game out. But I like the entertainment as me and my sister, or other family members play along with me. The game is fun, when you start to type in your answer, prompt words come up as to what you may be trying to guess, and it does keep you thinking. All in all a fun family game that isn't hard to do, or violent, or too engrossing. I liked this game, and Amazon had the best price.

The game is not totally enjoyable because there is no hands on keyboard. Typing with the Wii remote becomes tedious. Thanks

Honest reviews on Family Feud 2012 - Nintendo Wii

This game is frustrating because it doesn't give you enough time to type in your answers and/ or look it up. If you make a mistake trying to type... forget about it... you'll get the answer wrong.

Also, the answers are sometimes very generic... almost unbelievable. Not very realistic. My family lost interest rather quickly... although it may be okay for one player.

I'll preface this by cribbing lightly from early professional reviews. Yes, the game borrows concepts from GoW. Yes, there are aspects reminiscent of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Toss in Devil May Cry and Portal while you're at it too.

Does the game suffer from this? Absolutely not.

I believe Darksiders will prove out to stand on its own merits:

Art/color/effects. The Darksiders world is painted vividly. Bloody, scarlet reds. Vivid, electric blues. Hellfire crackles and belches with palpable heat. Death effects are varying and plentiful. The Chaoseater rips through opponents with satisfying degrees of violence and gore. Joe Mad's character designs are top-notch, fresh, and lend strongly to the 'playing a comic book' feel. You'll like it or you won't but I love it. The angel and demon designs, the shattered, demonically-warped landscape, the weaponry, War's armor it's just awesome.

Voice acting. Mark Hamill is worth the price of admission. The other voice talents do an able job, but his role really stands out, and he does an impeccable job.

Combat. Button-mashers will find a lot to like. Newcomers will quickly feel at home with the combat setup. Experts won't feel like they're jogging around a dumbed-down rail-fighter. Combos are expressive and fun to achieve, and their resulting effects are satisfyingly brutal.

Story. I won't detail the twists and turns the story takes, but the fact that you're War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, sent back to Earth to figure out who screwed you over, and why, and kill everything standing in the way of that it doesn't need to be any more cerebral. Revenge and justice are always a solid theme to an action slasher, and the story here doesn't fail.

The soul-currency system is a nice touch. There are many, many items in the destructive environment that will kick out souls that can be traded in as currency for new combat moves, weapon enhancements, health/rage buffs, etc. Some of these items raise an eyebrow (souls confined in a parking meter? ok.), but the gathering process is still fun.

Early boss fights are decent, but these battles really shine with selected increased difficulty.

The puzzles aren't terribly difficult. You're not going to employ any Half-Life 2-type problem-solving to figure them out, but they factor into the overall gameplay logically and seamlessly.

Some players might get hung up in the comparisons to other games in the genre. Others might see similarities or common themes as strengths building on what gamers like, discarding other elements. My advice enjoy Darksiders based on what you see, what you hear, and what you beat the holy (and unholy) crap out of in-game. Anticipate at least 17-20 solid hours of gameplay, with plenty to discover on subsequent playthroughs.

Start to finish, this game was a 9/10, and earned a spot on the shelf next to Halo 1-3, Fallout 3, CoD4, and Bioshock.

Very seldom do I actually write a review, but after seeing the horrible and unjust review that X-Play on G4TV gave, I had to speak up. So I will take this opportunity to lay it out.

X-Play: "I want to see more gore for something rated Mature."

Reality Check: When I ripped the wings off angels and then decapitated demons; that is what I expected in a game rated M.

X-Play: "Weapon Options are Limited."

Reality Check: Sword + Gun + Scythe + Cross blade + Gauntlet + Add Ons + Turrets = Almost more than I can keep up with when I'm playing.

X-Play: "Finishing off enemies is repetitive."

Reality Check: While yes, it can be repetitive at times, but as you level up and become very powerful or use the "turrets" or the horse in the game; you find yourself doing the finish moves less often, especially on the weaker enemies.

X-Play: They knocked the swimming for some odd reason.

Reality Check: The swimming is fine and fluid and adds a lot of depth to the dungeons. No pun intended.

X-Play: "Puzzles were predictable and easy."

Reality Check: Not all are "easy" nor are they predictable at all. You will have to think, especially when it comes to finding some of the chests.

X-Play: "Lacks Originality or a Soul."

Reality Check: I do not know what this game is compared to aside from mechanics "borrowed" from some of the all time bests, but in my opinion it gave the game an old soul that everyone can enjoy. Take something that works and use it. Sometimes people just want a game that is fun, easy to learn, and challenging at the same time.

X-Play: "Hack and slash that is cliché."

Reality Check: NOT AT ALL! I do not think when I stun an enemy with my cross blade, shoot it in the face, then lunge forward with a stabbing blow, and then reel any other nearby enemies with a flame saw sword move, and then finish it off with a gauntlet ground pound, and then raise my horse on the fly and slash away from a higher position while galloping around. Hmmm...How is that cliché??? Let's not forget you can turn into a 25 flaming monster and there are also special "magic" powers that can be used as well.

I could go on and on. Bottom line is that this is a fun game that has given me plenty of surprises.

Thank you Vigil. Finally, a game developer who 'gets it.' It's obvious that Darksiders was a labor of love, created by gamers, for gamers. I've played a lot of games over the years, and Darksiders masterfully crafts together the best elements of the genre while stripping out the garbage we could all do without. Why is Darksiders possibly the best pick-up-&-play action/adventure game ever?

+ Easy-to-learn, forgiving controls.

+ Variety of gameplay elements (swordplay, throwing objects, climbing, swinging, swimming, shooting, riding, treasure hunting, weapon upgrades, puzzle solving, etc.).

+ Beautiful artistic style, animation, and environments if you've enjoyed Joe Madureira's art in other mediums, playing Darksiders is an awesome interactive experience that brings his artistic vision to life in high definition.

+ Frequently saved checkpoints, plus save-anytime feature, and multiple save blocks that can be copied between memory cards and hard drives.

+ Epic fantasy storyline.

+ Effective defensive moves (block and dash/dodge).

+ Easily-controllable camera/perspective.

+ Engaging puzzles that don't take forever to figure out and complete.

+ Fast-travel network to quickly move between distant previously-visited areas.

+ No 'artificial challenge' that handicaps and punishes players.

+ No flow-breaking, action-obscuring quick-time events.

+ No unskippable cut-scenes.

+ Amazing audio that artfully conveys the epic scale of the characters and battles.

+ On-screen mini-map (and full map on the paused game's options screen) keeps you from getting lost and wondering where to go next.

+ Saved slots are indicated with the location and play-time you saved at, along with your difficulty level and health, making it easy to remember which file to load among multiple saves.

Whoever crafted the controls and usability/accessibility features of this game deserves the gaming industry's most prestigious award and recognition. For all the different gameplay elements, the controls always feel fluid and familiar. Most of us play a variety of games, so familiarizing ourselves with a new game's control scheme (or re-familiarizing ourselves with an old favorite later) can be rough. Darksiders takes this pain away by keeping the controls simple and always displaying the appropriate controller button on-screen next to each actionable icon. Many gamers buy or rent used games that don't come with instruction manuals, and thankfully Darksiders can be quickly and easily grasped without ever laying eyes on a manual. Awesome, powerful attack combos can be pulled off with merely a couple button-presses. The on-screen tips (which are saved in a log accessible via the paused game's options screen) walk you through every step of the way. Any action that consumes resources (like a magical attack that use up your wrath meter) requires two buttons to be pressed simultaneously, so you never accidentally slip and hit the wrong button and waste your resources.

If you've played other popular contemporary action/adventure games, you'll likely find familiar gameplay elements here. Darksiders pays homage to the most fun aspects in popular gaming while leaving OUT the frustrations that are too common in most other games. Most thankfully, Darksiders AVOIDS the maddening handicaps that too many other games rely on to inject what I call 'artificial challenge:'

Few and far-between save points (sometimes real life happens the phone rings, a visitor knocks at the door, dinner's ready, etc. and you don't have an hour to play until the next save point).

Only allowing one save file (preventing you from having multiple games in-progress, or reverting to an earlier save point).

Pathetic defense (no ability to block incoming attacks, limited ability to dodge incoming attacks, limited opportunity to take cover, etc.).

Leaving you helplessly stunned/paralyzed and vulnerable for a brief period after sustaining damage, allowing enemies to endlessly juggle you to death.

Convoluted control schemes and complex combo moves that are too long or tricky to reliably execute in the heat of battle.

Scarce resources (never any health or ammo around when you need it).

Obstructive camera perspectives that obscure your view of the action.

Requiring you to swim through areas while only giving you very limited breath.

Defeated enemies release floating orbs for you to collect, but you must be in very close proximity to receive them (I'm here to kick butt, not chase butterflies).

Performing an attack move (or being attacked) too close to a ledge causes you to fall off that ledge.

Falling off a ledge is an instant game-over, restarting you at a prior point.

+++ Darksiders does NOT punish the player with ANY of these buzz-kills. If you ever felt like throwing your game controller through your television out of frustration from cheap shots like this that other games shamelessly and repeatedly hit you with, then Darksiders will soothe those old wounds and renew your joy of gaming. Darksiders is by no means lacking in challenge, but it lets you focus on battling bad guys WITHOUT battling short-sighted, penalizing game mechanics. Darksiders doesn't keep finding cheap ways to end the fun and hinder your progress like many other games do. EVERY game developer should take serious notes on how smoothly and accessibly Darksiders flows for the player.

I have a hard time coming up with even minor things I would change about Darksiders:

I've become spoiled the last few years on the auto-regenerating health systems that many popular games have, so I wish Darksiders didn't require the player to find health-replenishing items (although it partially compensates for this by providing plenty of health pick-ups and a weapon modifier that gives you a little health boost every time you inflict damage on enemies).

I wish the enemies and bosses displayed a health meter so I could see how much damage my attacks are inflicting (to find the most effective attacks) and know how close (or far) I am to defeating an enemy.

The screen that lists your available attacks for each weapon does not indicate what level each attack has been upgraded to (the only way to know is to check what the next level available for purchase is at a shop).

The shop/purchase screen does not give you a last-minute confirming ('Are you sure you wish to buy this item?') back-out option when you buy something, so don't hit that 'buy' button accidentally.

The shop/purchase screen does not show you how many of a particular item you may already be carrying in your inventory.

While the 360-degree moveable camera perspective is great, I wish the speed/sensitivity of the camera movement was adjustable (sometimes I want to whip the camera around faster to get a view of something, but again, Darksiders partially compensates for this with the 'lock-on/focus' trigger that instantly resets the camera to the direction you're character is facing).

There's a combo meter that counts your consecutive hits during fights, but I haven't seen any reward system that ties to racking up long combos (so why count them?).

The only technical glitch I've noticed so far is some graphical screen-tearing.

Do yourself a favor and play Darksiders, and wrap yourself in a cozy blanket of fun, frustration-free action/adventure gaming. Do the gaming world a favor and buy this game to promote this kind of development so that future games will follow the fine example Darksiders sets. Vigil, please make sequels (and/or other games) that keep the same gamer-friendly spirit of Darksiders. Darksiders is not just a game it's a gift to gamers.

Honest reviews on Darksiders - Xbox 360

Why this game is Awesome.

I love this game. The graphics are great, the story is straightforward yet compelling, the combat is amazing, and the puzzles are challenging. Darksiders is a terrific game and a blast to play. All of the negative comments seem to be based on the fact that it is like "Prince of Persia, with elements of Zelda and God of War mixed in" or something to that effect. Well, I have never played any of those games, so to me it is just a great game. Imagine if someone told you a new movie was out that had the story and character motivation of The Lord of the Rings, the space battles of Star Trek II The Wrath of Kahn, and the hyperkinetic light saber fights of Revenge of the Sith. Now imagine you had never seen any of those. You would probably think it was an awesome film. That is Darksiders. Don't listen to the negatives. This is a great game, and more to the point, really fun and enjoyable to play, which is what a game should be.

I almost didn't get this game due to some of the bad reviews, but I figured I would give it a shot. I personally LIKE when a game has familiar controls or a style because it is easier for me to slide into playing rather than learning the controls (Too Human took forever to get used to!). This game reminded me a lot of God of War, which being one of my favorite games, was not a bad thing at all. Over all, I really enjoyed the entire game play experience and even the storyline. Usually I just fast button through the cut scenes but this time I wanted to know what was going on. I liked that there was a load of things to find but that they weren't all totally necessary for the end game. Sure there are the achievements, but spending hours checking and rechecking every location for the one item out of 30 you missed is boring. Some of the puzzles got a bit confusing, but nothing was so hard that I gave up (The first boss fight was a personal nightmare for me though).

Overall, this has quickly become one of my favorite games that I can easily see having a lot of replay even if it is just to ride around and kill bad guys.

Game developers are constantly trying to make games more and more "realistic." Now we have action games that are more like watching movies cheesy B-movies but they're just not fun, and they slow the pace of the games to a crawl.

This insatiable quest for realism is even bleeding over into simple games like "Wheel of Fortune," where your game is interrupted every other second by computer contestants spouting stupid platitudes, or by Vanna White appearing to grin at you and show off her necklace, which looks like a belt buckle on a chain.

And what the heck is Vanna White doing *hosting* the show? Where is Pat Sajak? Vanna sounds like she's reading from a book titled, "Things Pat Sajak Might Say," and her inflection gives us a clue as to why her acting career didn't take off.

The game play is tried and true, but it does seem like you spin more bankrupts and lose-a-turns than the computer players do. I was also infuriated by the way the computer players constantly buy vowels as soon as they have the money -just like the real show!

Thankfully you can play with one or two players and no computer contestants... a *very* smart move from Atari.

The graphics are fine, nothing too flashy. I like how the camera is constantly zooming in and pulling back on the wheel or the board. The sound is adequate and, as previously noted, annoying.

Some of the other options included are useless. I tried to take the "contestant exam," and after a 30-second load time, I was presented with a puzzle. I solved it and was told I had gotten 1 of 16 correct; then I had to wait through another 30-second load time before puzzle No. 2 came up. Intolerable!

I also noticed no differences between the "quick play" and the "normal game," except the fact that my name was "Player 1" instead of "Dennis."

Overall, if you're a "Wheel" fan, you'll like this version. Believe it or not, I had a version of this game in the 1980s on a floppy disc that played better than this one -but as I've said before, simpler most of the time is better.

Bought this game for an office activity function and everyone enjoyed it. Co-workers also went out and bought their own copy to play with their own family members.

This is the first "Wheel of Fortune" game released on Playstation 2 and I believe this and "Jeopardy!" are the first two games released on Playstation 2 in 2004. I play it for a lot of times and I never feel that "I want to give up". Clearly, this is a perfect game with a real experience and some challenging puzzles. Also, it includes true audience sound effect for each letter that you guess. In addition, the graphics are perfect. So, this is a perfect game and absolutely recommended.

Ok, let me start by saying I was frustrated for a day or two with the Kinect controls of the menus and in game changes. Once you get used to them though you can play this game and be addicted. If you change the shot difficulty to harder settings you will be playing a brand of golf that feels as good as a golf simulator. It will pick up all of your swing flaws. You must make a smooth and proper swing to get the best results. If you over swing the ball will go where it would if you were at the golf course. I am addicted to this game already. The putting and chipping takes some getting used to but gets easier and is pretty realistic. Especially the putting. The hardest part is setting up your shots to punch out of the woods or change your putting aim. If you aim a little further back of the hole on uphill putts the ball will roll out more. You can set the greens to fast and it will make you feel like you are putting at The Master's as your ball goes rolling by the hole on downhill puts. What fun.

***Here is the best part. I picked up a short weighted golf club called the SKILZ GOLF TEMPO AND GRIP TRAINER from skilz golf and am using it during Kinect play. It works great. I covered it with some black electrical tape and the sensor does not pick it up. The short club is pretty realistic and has a grip training grip on it. Costs under 20 bucks on amazon. This will enhance your game play ten fold. If you are a lefty you may be able to get one also . Another thing is if you want to face side on to the TV move your sensor of to the side of the TV on a stand or a stool or something and you can then at least stand on an angle to the TV sideways.

GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY...

tiger woods 13 isn't like the past years........the new swing mechanics have been introduced.....i found the swing arc almost gimmicky, but i found the tempo to be a leap forward. this game feels more like a golf simulation than arcarde, at that will work for golf aficionados, but also takes a bit of the fun out for casual gamers...the new putting sytstem is frustrating, and i can't help to think they should have stayed with last year's version. it is just too easy to blast you ball past the whole or leave it short with a putt that goes two feet. graphically, the game is superior to other versions.

i suspect that this game will be loved by some and hated by others. something is just missing in this game, and it is the fun factor, imo. on the other hand, if you love creating your own shots, and taking into account if you want to dig at the ball, slow or increase your tempo, and adjusting the swing plane, then this game is going to give you tons of frustrating enjoyment. just get used to 2-3 putting on the green.

****update***

i realized how unfair 3 stars was to this game that is revolutionary for the series...the new swing system takes a learning curve but it is great. for the first time, club selection is needed, as well is playing from deeper cuts, and bunkers..in previous editions of tiger, it almost didn't matter if you were in the fairway or second-cut. this year the degree of difficulty resembles that of true golf. you really do have to play the course. i am still not a fan of the putting system, but given the graphics, the presentation, and the new swing selection this is a game that will give you plenty hours of frustrating enjoyment...a good walk spoiled...enjoy!

The Good:

*Beautiful presentation: gorgeous golf courses and realistic golf sound effects

*Lengthy career mode

*Tiger Legacy Challenge could be a stand-alone title by itself

*Online Country Club and other online features are a great addition

*Adjusted swing mechanic

*Great way to create and customize your own golfer and ability to use XBOX Vision cam for a face

The Bad:

*Putting and some other aspects of the game deliver a steep learning curve.

The Bottom Line:

I like playing golf; However, golf can be costly and time-consuming and not to mention there is actual skill required! Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13's great graphics, sounds and gameplay can satisfy your golf craving without the need to buy the golf clubs.

Some of the new features from last year include improved swing mechanic. Most of your shot will depend on how well you move the thumbstick, which could be a good or a bad thing, depending on how shaky your hands are or how well your thumbstick actually moves. If you got issues with your thumbstick, you will have a frustrating time.

Country Clubs feature will allow you to go online and join groups with others friends or complete strangers who share same interest and/or skill level as you are to see who is the best and compete in online tournaments.

Boost Pins feature mirrors other EA sports games that involve buying "packs" with your hard-earned coins from game play. Boost pins can you the edge (make your shots more powerful for some time, for instance) in the game.

Tiger Legacy Challenge: This is my favorite new feature, which deviates from previous Tiger titles. This mode was so enjoyable to me, I think it would've been a great stand-alone title by itself! This gives you a chance to relive Tiger Woods' life from toddler years and all the way to the future(2019 to be exact is the year of the challenge to break Jack's record.) This mode is also a great way for new players to learn the game. Your first challenge goes back to 1978 where you take control of a 2-year old Tiger and your goal is to sink a short putt on the Mike Douglas Show. As you complere challenges, you unlock Tigers' next phases of life, where he learns to swing out of the bunker from the sandbox of his playground and chipping shots into his mother's purse.

As an 8-year old Woods, you get other challenges, such as beating kids who are older in Youth Championships. All of these mirror his life events, which include short video montages as well.

After a while you go on to represent 1994 Stanford and US Amateur team. Then follow more difficult challenges of Tiger when he was unstoppable. After that follow the future challenges where you must guide Woods to win the 2014 Major. There are some very fun notable challenges, such as competing with Jeremy Roenick, 2018 Dwight Howard and even shooting a commercial. This mode looked and sounded great right from the start, especially when you get to play as a chubby 2-year old Tiger Woods.

Some negatives of the game include the frustration of putting. Putting on the green is way more difficult than it should be in a game. Your thumbstick control must be superb. One accidental twitch and your putt attempt is ruined. Sometimes I found myself choosing to chip shot from 2-yards out instead of using a putter. Some minor gameplay issues, such as unrealistic bounce here and there will be noticed, but its not enough to ruin the game.

The game constantly reminds you of your lifetime challenge and achievement status(your birdie total and such,) which pulls you in and keep you going. This is definitely not a short game by any means as it will take you a long time to complete all the challenges. Combine that with the online gameplay and your joy for golf and this is a great title to invest in if you like golf.

Honest reviews on Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 - Xbox 360

I have played every game in the Tiger Woods franchise and I have to say this is the best and most engaging Tiger to date. The total swing control takes a few hours to get used to but then its becomes clear that this was the change that the franchise needed. Many argue that the physics of the swing/putting are too demanding and frustrating. And maybe to players new to the game they might seem daunting, but once you catch on they are consistent and rewarding. And sure you can still drive the ball 400+ and break 50 in a round...but really only on the easier difficulties, which in turn rewards you with less status, coins and exp. Now, as for the whole coin system...

Many amateur and pro reviewers have bashed to coin system (the in-game currency) for being a misleading and insulting tease by EA. I can't disagree enough! Coins are earned by playing and playing well, and can be redeemed for Pins (more later) and for rounds at DLC courses. Now once a DLC course is mastered (takes at least 6+ rounds) it is unlocked for unlimited play. This is where the critics say the (6000 coins for a round, 3 for 12000) system is just a "tease" and baits players into just buying unlimited round for 400 Microsoft Pts. BUT, they all fail to mention (or maybe realize) that by buying just one round with coins -and downloading the courseyou can also play the course during you PGA Tour season if the course shows up. That means you can play 4 rounds + Training and Sponsor Challenges at the course WITHOUT even spending the round you had bought. So it is actually possible to master any DLC course while only having to "buy" 1-2 rounds with the coins. And then the course is yours for unlimited play!

I say that is a pretty good deal, and something that was never an option on previous versions. TW 13 allows you play your way to free courses. I now have all 37 courses (Yes 37 courses!) with unlimited play and I didn't pay an extra penny to get them. Also, if a course that you do not have (yet) comes up during your PGA Tour season, you have the option to change the course for the event, so there is no need to skip it. I know this was an issue on last years game, but I still find it repeatedly in reviews for this edition. It makes me wonder if all of the reviewers have actually played the game, or at least give it a fair chance!

So I need to ask: how is this years TW considered to be an outrageous showing of EA Sports disdain for the consumer and a new level of greediness?? This new system is the most fair and balanced way to integrate the DLC courses, and just about everyone I play with online completely agrees. Like I said before, all previous games required the player to buy the DLC courses with MSP and they were not cheap! I say kudos to EA for rewarding the gamers who are taking the time to enjoy all aspects of the game and its longevity. I honestly can not remember the last sports game I have played this much (even after reaching 1000 GS). This is in large part due to the coin, pin and country club additions...

The Country Club system in a priceless addition to the franchise. Up to 25 players join and work together to level up their club. There are daily and weekly club tournaments (set by the club GM on the EA website), head-to-head club and inter-club play, weekly leaderboards and more. The Club system is just great as it gives players a more involved experience vs just playing another yourself-against-the-world sports game. Our club is now in the top 35 in the world, and we are constantly congratulating and motivating each other to play well and keep playing. Each week the highest scorer of the club is crowned the Club Champ and is invited to a Club Champ-only weekly tourney where the top players from every club go up against one another. The top 5 players below the club champ are named the Club "pros" and they are also invited to a club pro-only weekly tourneys. Good, good stuff.

Finally, the new pin system adds another clever feature across all game modes. There are 3 main types of Pins: Boost, Player and Course. Boost Pins can be added to your "bag-tag" for a single round to boost your players stats. There are also Player Pins that give all-around stat boosts to the associated player. And then the most innovative new pins; the Hole and Course Pins. Every hole in the game has a pin that can be acquired, well actually 3 stacking pins: Bronze, Silver & Gold. (A few years ago they dabbled with this idea in the form of course exp, which would increase your "Luck" and caddy knowledge of a course the more time you played it, but this is a much better system) Each pin you have on a course increases the exp and status you receive after playing a round. Once you have all 18 pins, you get a course pin which increases the value of any boost or player pins you use at that course. And, of course, these all stack from bronze to gold. Once you rack up some course pins, you can really start raking in the exp, status and coin rewards. Very addicting and adds a greater incentive for continuing to play the game.

The pins are bought in packs from the store using coins. There is a variety of different "pin-packs" available for the pins you are after. Special offers also pop up from time to time. Extra coins can be purchased using MSP but I never found this necessary if you play the game enough and want to progress proportionately, but is a nice option for those who want to level up their player/courses quickly.

Online play remains the same for the most part, save for the addition of the country club features. Daily and weekly tournaments galore, plus the "Play-the-Pros" and a few other special events such as "Tiger Balls" where the top players are basically entered into a lottery drawing for a large coin bonus-pretty cool. Head-to-head matches also have an improved "skill" rating system used for match-making, etc. Sadly, the "GamerNet" system is gone, which is kind of a bummer b/c it was always quite satisfying to be able to save and post those miracle shots that you can pull off. I guess it was passed on to make room for all of the other extra features.

All that being said, the game in not without its flaws. The game is still plagued by glitches such as ball placement and physics in certain areas of certain courses. The only good thing is that they do seem to be consistent, so once you know where they are you can avoid them (ex. your ball clearly lands in a bunker but you are placed in the rough, or the ball may take unrealistic bounces off the flagstick). The glitches are really not that big of a deal in normal gameplay, but can be frustrating when you have a great round going. Far from a deal breaker to me, and I think some reviewers get overly upset about this. If you consider that the game has THOUSANDS of SQ/ACRES of playable land, to me it would be quite a programming feat to have every square inch function 100% properly. The game does freeze a little more often than should be acceptable, mostly during loading screens. Again, frustrating, but not a deal breaker. I think many of the errors are due to the rushed release of the game, and that being considered, it is for the most part an impressive final product.

So I'm sure you can tell by now that I highly recommend this Tiger Woods. As a golfer and a gamer, this Tiger is a huge step in the right direction for EA Sports. Please take the negative reviews with a grain of salt as so many of us have become accustomed to games that are at or approaching perfection. This is incredibly difficult to accomplish with a golf-sim, by EA is doing a great job and getting better every year. The negative reviewers overemphasize the games issues and unjustly dismiss this excellent game. So give it a try yourself and you can be the judge of that!

Hope this helps anyone on the fence!

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! Not only is it buggy, but very frustrating as well. Let's start with the bugs.

At times you caddy will not work. Why? Don't know. On the next shot it will, but every so often, it just doesn't display it's help. Now for some, this may not be a problem. But for me and other people, it is. We play these sports games because we are not able to play nearly as well in real life. So when the caddy feature does not work, I may as well be on the greens myself.

The game freezes. A lot. And we all know how to fix an Xbox freeze, you turn it off and start again. You end up consistently hoping that you can get thru your round before another freeze. And what's worse, if you're using boost pins they will disappear when you restart. The game considers you're freeze as you quitting. Try playing in a live Tournament, you only get to enter once. Also, after a freeze, you end up getting a DNF. Get too many DNFs and some tourneys may not let you play.

The flagstick disappears when trying to line up a shot on to the green. How am I to know where the hole is when trying to line up a shot? Just wing it? Hope for the best?

Now for the frustrating parts. The wind is annoying not because its wind, but because it's inconsistent. One hole it's blowing south at 24mph, the nest it's blowing north at 35mph. 95% of the time it's at your front, making the whole even more difficult. I know the wind can't always be at your back, but since when does the wind lead a golfer thru a round.

Weather is also an issue. Just about every other round has rain it. After making it to the Pro Tour, there just hasn't been a sunny weekend. Since when are golf courses created under permanent rain clouds? Is this weather there to make it harder for me? I thought that's what the difficulty settings where for. And again as I stated earlier, I don't want a round of golf to be as bad as I am in real life. I play a video game to do what I can not.

How about putting? Decent unless you just barely miss the green and land on the second cut. Then you have no option from the caddy to putt. The caddy at times has two choices you can pick from to set up your shot. But if you miss the green, and even ever so slightly, the caddie will not have putting one of those options. You can still select the putter and putt, but you'll get no help. I believe in real life the caddie would be fired for refusing to help the golfer line up his putt. This game tho he defies you. So line up your putt, hope you have it the option to putt preview, because lining up your putt from the second cut is harder than it looks.

You do not have access to all golf courses. You either have to spend coins to unlock rounds, or spend $5 to purchase the course. To purchase all courses, $95. That's not including the $50 or so it took to first purchase the game. It wouldn't be so bad if the courses you had yet to buy weren't on the Pro Tour. But yes, I have to skip some tourney's because I refuse to spend extra money on courses that are on the schedule of career mode. I could uses coins, but those are slow to accumulate and it takes 12000 coins to get three rounds. No option for 4 rounds other than real money. So I can't even purchase the course with coins to play in the tourney, I'll be short one round. So now I would have to spend the 12000 coins and play the greatest three rounds of my life so I Gold master the course so I have unlimited rounds and finally play it within career mode. Bad news tho. Can't Gold Master a course in 3 rounds let alone 4. You have to get 100 pars or better. 5 rounds isn't even 100 holes. You have to do 6 rounds, and then you can only bogey 8 times total in all 6 rounds. So 24000 coins to Master a course IF you can bogey less than 8 times.

All in all, worst game ever from EA. I would pass this game up in favor for an arcade golf game from Xbox Live.

Update!! So I get to Dubai for a tournament. Now I'm thinking, it's rained in every tournament I've been in so far. But hey! I'm in Dubai, where it rains very little, on average 5 times a year and mainly just during the cooler months of November to April. I should have a nice sunny weekend...Nope!!! It rained!! Gale force winds and rain!! Oh for the love of.....!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I now no longer have this game. Traded it in.

I'm a huge RPG fan, and got this immediately for the PS2. You are Cain, son of a noble father who wishes to help the King. A typical beginning, and unfortunately the first-person shooter graphics are also of Playstation-One quality, hardly taking advantage of the speed and power of the PS2.

The cut scenes are uninspiring, with mouths moving much longer than it takes to get through the text. The monsters, like tadpoles and wasps, will drop water gems and feather gems for you to collect. The graphics are reasonable, but not up to some of the other PS2 game levels. Really, though, what you seek are the rings.

There are tons of rings in the game, and by equipping combinations of them you can create yourself a great number of spells or powers. Gameplay in this sense is quite intriguing you can easily get caught up in gathering rings, figuring out which items work best for your style of gameplay, and fight to the end. Combat is reasonably interesting.

In general, though, I play RPG and action games not just to shoot hordes of monsters, but to really get involved with the characters. I just can't care about Cain he has no personality, and it often seems like just a dungeon crawl (i.e. killing anything in your path) instead of a real game. I think they might have rushed this one to get out in time for the PS2 release, and hope that their next release will spend more time in development.

I was not going to write a reviewbecause the reviews of some ofthe other reviewers were on target. This game was pretty well thoughtout. If you enjoyed the Kings fieldseries, then you would definitleyenjoy this game. The sealed Labyrinth toward the end of the game provides added thrill and challenge, as you seek to obtainthe AWESOME eternal sword, andspecial unique secret rings thatreally add blossoming effect toyour power and attribute. Thelimited imperfections are really not worth noting. I hope Amazonwill be selling "Kings field IV-The Ancient City" expected out forPlaystation 2 at the end of March. After reading a review of thissoon to become available title,There is much anticipation, especially after completing thisenjoyable eternal ring Quest.

if i could've given this game 2.5 stars, i would have, because i feel like that's the perfect rating for it: 50%, average, middle of the road, etc... i went ahead and gave it three stars because of it's teen rating, i think i would've loved this game when i was 14 or so.

i've always loved action rpgs, and this game had some elements that i really enjoyed. i particularly liked the ring making process; i loved throwing some stones together with a ring and sayin', "hm... i wonder what this'll do...". however, the "action" portion of the game was lacking a bit; sword use and animation was rather dull, while the spell casting was a little bit more fancy. and, though they would've been way better as analog, the digital controls were very easy to get used to.

also, one of my favorite parts of most actions rpgs is the puzzles, and this game was severely lacking in that category, with most things being so blatently obvious that i spent a lot of time tryig to figure out what the real puzzle was, only to find out that there was none.

the graphics, contrary to what others might say, are better than PSOne, but they're not as good as other PS2 offerings (for example, unreal tournament) and the backgrounds are indeed very repetative. but the motion was super smooth, never a flicker, no matter how many things were attacking me at once.

i am not one who generally cares too much about the story of the games so much as the gameplay itself, but for those of you who enjoy a robust storyline in your rpgs, this title is pretty much not for you. the story is vague and only really touches on the game occaisionally... at least that's the way i felt about it...

the game itself was altogether too short (in saying that i guess i show that i did like the game), i couldn't believe it was over when it ended. but while it lasted i did enjoy playing it; it wasn't awfully hard, it wasn't a perfect piece of cake, but it was a fairly fun way to spend a couple of nights on the PS2.

since you can easily beat it in a few nights worth of dedicated play, and there's almost no replay value, i say rent this over a three day weekend and go buy unreal tournament with the rest of your money.

Honest reviews on Eternal Ring - PlayStation 2

This was one of the first generation PS2 games on its release. Its a first-person RPG where you create rings of magic for different spells and buffs. If you're into games like Kings Field and Elder Scrolls, you will most likely enjoy this game. Its pretty straight forward and there are a ton of spells to create. Definately a great underrated game!

If you have enjoyed the King's Field series of games then you'll enjoy Eternal Ring, if not then you probably won't; which is why the rating probably suffers on this site. Creating the rings can be tricky, but after you READ (just the ring creation part) the manual and make a few rings you'll grasp the formulae. NOTE: save before creating rings. Rich environments, detailed monsters(some huge)and pretty cool spell effects. King's Field is the key..if you thought it was cool this is.........SWEET !! All others give it a try ....even though it is an acquired taste.

Cheap Xbox 360 "Premium Gold Pack" Video Game System

When I looked at the picture I thought the product I was getting would be a working xbox. Was broken out of the box with marker all over the case. Not what I expected at all. Was missing a power cord, controller, and headset. There wasn't any indication that was what was being sold from the page I ordered off of. Sending back the broken xbox for a full refund and going to buy somewhere else.

I think this is a great system. Its got excellent game, a solid setup and has an awesome multiplayer experience. True it does cost 50$ yearly for the Gold account on live, however it's pretty well worth it considering all the updates and freebies you get. My only complaint is that the system is not that robust. Mine has gotten over heated for random reasons that have no explanation sometimes. There are many manufacturing defects that save the company money but cost the customers more. All in all its like I have to carry the thing around in a three foot thick styrofoam case just to protect it. Still every thing else is good. The controllers are made for human hands so they're very comfy to use and all the best multiplayer games are on this system (even though Nintendo has some very awesome ones for parties and stuff). Very good system. I recommend You buy it

I got to say I was skeptical purchasing this XBOX 360 refurbished. I read quite a bit of negative things about refurbished units. The price was something I could not pass up. I asked the seller lots and lots of questions and he was very patient with me. Everything that was listed was included and the system looks brand new, not even a scratch. Santa was a HERO this year and its all thanks to you...but I'll take the credit!

To everyone that's buying this and it only reads movies etc but does not play games. YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS. Either you can flash the firmware for the circuit board inside the new drive , OR you can do the easier task and just take the circuit board out of your old drive and swap it with the one in your new drive. Then there is no need to flash. Just make sure you keep your old drive and take it apart and get the board disconnected from it. Once you take off the four screws and remove the cover on the old CD ROM Drive , the green PC board is right there. There is like 4 ribbon cables to remove and then its a direct replacement and fit into your new drive. Remember you have to also take out the green board in your new drive and swap it with the one in your old drive so you will have one worthless pc board from this new drive that you can not use. If you choose to flash the new board with the same coding from your old drive then it will give you two usable green boards so you will have a spare from your old drive. The mechanical parts on these cd roms are whats failing , not the pc boards inside them. Its much easier to swap the green boards than it is to flash IMO. The reason you change the boards is because the green board from your old cd rom drive has a coded serial key thats unique to your xbox360. Thats why this cd rom without the green board changed only plays movies and not games until you do this.

For those of you who are wondering how to replace your 360 dvd drive its very easy. I had a samsung and I bought this and switched it out, and it works fine. You just have to make sure to switch out the the circuit boards inside the drives, from your old drive to your new drive. It has a 'key' on it that identifies with you xbox. Other than that your good to go. This is a great buy. Oh yeah, and you don't need to flash your drive to get it to work just switch the boards...doesn't matter if its a firmware version 25 or 28 it will work.

Just purchased this product today for myself and my son. These are 3 of the 4 newer releases that will be released broadly around June I think. I personally like the feel of Warnado the best with his little tornados.

Tip for future buyers,

Search daily! I got lucky and saw that AMAZON had some in stock for $19.99 with free super shipping. I immediately bought one since I knew it wouldn't last long here. They'll have them in stock again soon, especially when this set gets more broadly released (I assume)

Retail value of this item is $19.99-$24.99, don't pay anything more and just check around. Gamestop.com has them in stock from time to time as well.

Skylanders is a great game, especially if you have a household with three generations in it; it can be played by children, parents, and grandparents. The idea of the little toys is genius, it adds an element to the game that is novel and encourages interaction... and of course, the collection aspect triggers the hunter-gatherer in all of us.

Don't get swept up in the desire to buy them all, certainly not at the prices offered by the resellers on Amazon or Ebay. I have almost the complete collection, and I haven't paid over retail price for any of them. The only one I'm missing is Skylanders Spyro's Adventure: Wham-Shell and I'll get that one too, eventually. If you're patient and keep your ear to the ground, you should never have to pay more than $10 for a single character or $20 for a 3-pack.

My kids spend hours playing Skylanders so it made sense for me to get more characters. Not to mention I like the game too. Kinda reminds me of a new GAUNTLET game for the new kinds of 2000.

Honest reviews on Skylanders Spyro's Adventure Triple Character Pack (Ignitor

I just got lucky and was able to purchase this 3 pack through Amazon on June 11th for $19.99 I guess I was able to to sneak in before all the 3rd party jokers came in and bought all the stock to re-sell. I am using Nowinstock.net to track the Skylanders I need for my boys. The site was able to find me/ alert me the single pack VooDood and the 3pack with Warnado / Camo / Ignitor for their retail prices. Be patient, pay suggested retail.

My son loves the game and the characters as well. I am SO glad the last of the figures are becoming available. I despise the opportunists who jacked up the price so much and hope they get stuck with the inventory. Patience has paid off and we're down to just needing 2 characters.
