This game that has something for everyone. On the fun side, it has plenty of extreme moves run-of-the-mill baseball games lack, like larger than life catches, baserunning, and pitching. But, you can also play in realistic mode, where it plays more like a usual baseball game, but it has an extensive baseball simulation that tops even the straight sim type baseball games, with things like, ticker scores scrolling onscreenn while you are online of the current mlb games going on and the full range of team managing including minor league signs, team stealing percentages, etc. finally you dont have to buy 2 baseball games anymore, slugfest has the best fun baseball game as well as the best realistic one out this year, all in one game.

Just the facts:

56 different plants, including 8 special/powerful plants you must buy from the shop using the money you collect throughout levels.

22 mini games, including Wall-nut Bowling, Beghouled, and Portal Combat.

10 puzzles, all variations of a Vasebreaker game.

Survival Mode: 11 levels of intense gameplay. Survive as long as you can!

Your very own Zen Garden, where you take care of plants you find gift-wrapped during the campaign. Main garden holds up to 32 plants. Mushroom and Aquariam gardens can be bought from the in-game store.

Vs Mode: Play with friends near or far.

An Achievement feature and ability to create your own Zombie Avatar.

Published by Popcap, who also made Peggle and Zuma.

First I'll just say that I am fairly obsessed with this game, whatever the platform. With it's originality, inventive game play, and the wide array of mini-games and puzzles makes this is one of the best games I've ever played, especially on the DS. With the stylus, control is even easier. And the fact I can play this on the go is a huge selling point.

Plants Vs. Zombies is basically a "tower defense" type game, in the sense that you must defend your house from approaching zombies using your large arsenal of funny little plants.

Thanks to it's simple game mechanics and easy learning curve, this a great game for all ages. The main game itself isn't very challenging (may prove a nice challenge for younger players). However, once you beat the game a first time, the difficulty is ramped up a bit with your second play-through.

There are 5 modes with 10 levels each:

Day Time

Night Time

Pool

Fog

Roof

Yes, it's also a bit short, but the replay value is immense; you'll find yourself wanting to play through again and again. Like collecting things? Sometimes throughout the level a little present will appear on screen if you click it, the plant inside will be sent to your own personal garden!

Story wise it's almost non-existent, but it's there. It's nice of them to throw it in there though, as unnecessary as it is.

The game looks almost identical to the versions on both the Xbox 360 and PC, with the sprites remade for the DS and looking quite fantastic on such a small screen.

From day one people have said, "Hey, this game would be perfect on the DS. Too bad it will probably never happen."

Well, it's happened, and it's incredibly well done.

There's just so much to do in this game, and, selling for only $20, this is a must buy. It's a game people will be talking about for years to come, so don't miss out on the fun!

I LOVE Plants vs Zombies. I've played it through multiple times on the PC. The game is super fun and extremely easy to get into. My 7 year old daughter and husband play it as well.

With that said, I was curious to see how it plays on the DS. The answer is very well. You do a lot of dragging and dropping with the stylus but the game (music and sound effects as well) are essentially the same. As you complete different levels in the adventure mode, you will unlock all of the mini-games. I haven't gone through the entire thing yet but at level 3 you unlock the mini-games and they appear to be the same as the computer version.

The three main differences are

1. The Zombinator a way cool avatar creator to make your own zombie!

2. After Level 2 is over, you can play head to head against a friend.

3. You can earn different awards like blowing up 10 zombies with 1 cherry bomb. (Easter Egg on this screen!!)

I've found 1 easter egg so far :) I'm hoping to find more!

Am I happy I purchased it? Yep. Now I can play Zombies at lunch :)

This is a MUST OWN for everyone! I love this game & it is my favorite of all time!!! It has a story mode, mini games, & puzzles (: The graphics are pretty cool and the whole layout of the game is awesome.

Honest reviews on Plants Vs. Zombies - Nintendo DS

I'm writing my review as a comparison between the DS version of the game and the PC Game of the Year Edition. I've finished Adventure Mode and have completed all of the mini games, puzzles, and survival modes, but have not been able to try multiplayer.

I love playing on a touch screen. It's very quick and easy to pick up sun and coins, and to place plants. However, the smaller screen makes the game more difficultthe plants are crowded closer together so that it's harder to see which plant is where, or to tell whether a given space even has a plant on it at all. It's very difficult in this version to judge how damaged a Pumpkin is. Even the original game has some issues with plants being obscured by other plants or by menus and buttons, as well as menus and buttons being obscured by plants, and in this version it's even worse. For example, you can't tell what the plants in the top row of the Zen Garden are "asking for" in their speech bubbles, because the top menu completely blocks them.

The sound and graphics have of course been scaled down for the DS. The sound effects can be a little harsh and annoying at times, but the music sounds pretty good. The plants and zombies are even cuter when simplified, so no complaints there, other than the plants being crowded together as I mentioned earlier. Oh, and the abnormally large Dancing ZombieI guess the designers didn't want to lose all the detail in his 'fro.

A few minigames are missing, and a couple of new ones have been added. The new games are fun but nothing special.

The top screen of the DS is mainly just used for the level progress bar, but has some cute zombie and raven animations if you can spare enough attention to watch.

Some of the plants and zombies perform a little differently in this version. A missile from the Cob Cannon seems to take longer to hit. It could be my imagination, but it felt like some of the seeds had a longer delay between plantings. In the PC version, Catapult Zombies advance only after they destroy the plants in the back rows or run out of ammo, but in the DS game they constantly move forward.

The game performs fine on most of the Adventure levels and minigames, but slows down considerably once there are large numbers of zombies and plants onscreen. This makes Endless Survival nearly impossible to play on the DS. It also doesn't seem to save your progress on Endless Survival if you leave the game. Note: I have the DS LiteI don't know whether the other versions of the DS have more computing power.

If you're new to Plants vs Zombies, I highly recommend picking up the PC version instead. If you're already a fan, the DS game may be a little disappointing, but it's still worth owning a portable version that you can play in waiting rooms or when traveling. Save Endless Survival for your PC, though.

Plants vs Zombies is an amazing and very creative tower defense game. Zombies is trying to get across your lawn and your only hope lines in your garden, armed with units such as Pea Shoots, cabbage pults and exploding cherries you are valiantly defending your home and your brain from the hordes of undead. The game has cute graphics, addictive gameplay and which a main adventure having 50 levels in addition to a generous amount of mini games and other content this is a sizable game. This game is a great choice for the Nintendo DS, however if you have a Ipad, PC or one of the other consoles this game is published for then you are likely to enjoy that more.

The graphics of this game is scaled down and do not look nearly as even and vibrant as in the Ipad or PC version and allot of details are missing. Plants vs Zombies have a great soundtrack, but the DS version mangle several of the melodies. The game interface is also a bit clumsy, the game is played with the stylus and instead of just clicking to selecting like in other versions of this game, here you have to drag the stylus around. That being said, except for a few minor cosmetic problems with this port of the game this is an excellent title.

The packaging of this game is very nice, it has a slipcase over over the case itself so it looks more classy, the slipcase cover looks like a zombie have taken a bite out of it, perfectly fitting the game, fancy packaging makes for a great gift item and I think anyone would be happy to receive this game. On that note, this game would be perfect to give to a child who want to play a zombie game but who is not quite old enough for a horror shooter. Plants vs Zombies is suitable for anyone, and it is just spooky enough for a kid to find it exiting and cool, not that an adult would not find it exiting and cool also.

The manual which comes with the game is very funny to read, it is styled as a homeowners manual, however they have tried to make it funny more than informative so it is better at making you laugh than at making you understand how to play. I wondered about a few aspects of the game and the manual really did not help me. Luckily Plants vs Zombies are very easy to get into and it really is not problem just picking up and playing this game.

Plants vs Zombies is not a very difficult game, some might find the game to easy, I find it just perfect. This would be a good game for a beginner to tower defense games, however if you are a expert player and find the game to easy then know that some of the mini games really packs on the challenge. The mini games are not your typical mini game, it is the same concept and game style as the rest of the game, but with the game play mixed up again to create a new challenge. I would more call them extra levels than mini games. In addition to story mode and mini games there are multilayer, a "zen garden" a survival mode and the zombatar where you can create your own zombie.

I have really nothing but good to say about this game, I do not think it is the best port of it, but hey Plants vs Zombies is fun no matter what you play it on. I recommend this game to anyone, it has charm, it has spooky zombies and it have allot of militaristic plants, pick this one up and you will not be able to put the game down until you have beat it.

Ignitor is a fire element of Skylanders with 100% attack. He is awesome. His attacks are great: His "X" attack is that he jumps out of his suit on fire and he uses it to defeat enemies. The upgraded "X" attack is that he jumps out and zooms back in. His "A" attack is that he swings his sword on fire. His "B" attack is that he holds his sword back and he slams down and the fire is blue. If you hold down the B button he carries the sword over his head and it fires when you release it.

I have been a drummer for about 14 years. I have been around guitars most of my life, but never really felt like learning one, mainly cause hitting drums seemed easier to me. I got this controller about a week ago and I have already learned 5 songs on expert. If you are not very good with rockband/guitarhero guitars, but still love the game for singing or drums, this may be for you. I can't play a single song on the 5 button guitar controller on the expert difficulty setting. But in a week I can play 5 songs, easy songs, but full songs.

SIZE - This this is slightly bigger than a 5 button guitar, but weight wise feels the same.

QUALITY -I haven't had any problems with a button not responding and the strings are steel coated with nylon, which seem like cheap plastic from the sound they give off. But they are durable, they just sound like plastic. I don't mind this because they are infinitely quieter than uncoated strings. But make no mistake, this IS a plastic guitar controller.

NEW features -With songs that have Pro guitar/bass charting you can practice the song like normal. But there is a new trainer unique to each song under the "learn to play song" section. Here the song is broken down to its basic components. For example the song "The Hardest button to Button" only had 3 components. You practice these components as you would a beat or fill in the drum trainer. Once you master the components you go to practice song and place them where they go and bahdabingbahdaboom you now know a song.

CONS -None that I have noticed so far. But I am not too familiar with guitars so I may never notice. A friend of mine that came by to give it a shred said that with strings you can feel which string you are on easier cause on a "real" guitar the strings are different thicknesses. On this its just 17 frets of buttons, all the same size. (thickness, not width) But he loved this anyway, cause he learned to play a song he likes and has never tried to play before.

If anyone has a specific question about this, or even about the software (the game rockband) just ask here and i will answer asap. :)

First off let me just get this out of the way. I did not purchase this from Amazon, I purchased it from Gameshark.com and have had it for about 2 weeks now.

I was incredibly skeptical about this guitar when I first heard about it. "A plastic six string guitar? How's that supposed to work?" However, I heard nothing but good things about this guitar over at the Rock Band forums so I knew I had to actually try this for myself. So essentially this is a plastic guitar that has 102 buttons that is supposed to mimic a 6-stringed, 17 fretted guitar. The neck has numbers on each edge by the 3rd fret, the 5th fret, and so-on, similar to real guitar so you have a guide to where which numbered fret is where. As far as the rest of the buttons are concerned, you have the A, B, X, and Y buttons on the right side of the pick guard, and you have your start, back and guide buttons on the left side of the pick guard. If you are left handed like me, this layout is unfortunately terrible because instead of the buttons being located directly below the strings where they're easy to reach, they are instead located under your arm pit essentially. This isn't a big deal, but it's incredibly annoying if you're a south paw. One of my absolute favorite features of this guitar is how you can disassemble it into three pieces. You can easily pull the entire neck out of the body of the guitar, and you can also easily take the head stock off of the neck, unlike the RB3 Stratocaster where trying to remove the head stock is a chore.

Now down to playing the guitar. Like I said before it has six plastic strings that are all the same gauge or thickness, which is different from a real guitar of course, but I'm glad that they took this route so us leftys could try pro mode. This unfortunately is a bit of a problem, because on a real guitar you can tell what string you're playing by feeling how thick it is, but now since both the strings and the buttons are all the same gauge, it's harder to tell what you're playing without looking at the guitar. Another thing that's lost in translation with this guitar is the lack of vibration from the strings. Again, when playing a real guitar whenever you pluck a string it vibrates and you can tell if you're putting your finger on the right string on the fret board based on the vibration. Since this obviously can't happen with this plastic guitar, unavoidably there will be situations where you'll have your finger on the right button, but you'll be plucking the wrong string. This isn't a deal breaker, but it can cause some confusion. And now for my last little gripe about playing this guitar, the strumming. This may vary from person to person, but I find that trying to strum a string quickly can be quite difficult when done continuously. On a real guitar, yes I'm a broken record, when strumming a string quickly you usually only graze the string when you play it, but this technique won't work particularly well on the Mustang since it's wont pick up light strums most of the time.

At the end of the day, the Mustang is a really fun peripheral to use. It's awfully similar to a real guitar, and it's incredibly fun to use. I really wish this guitar wasn't so darn expensive though. $150 seems awfully steep for a plastic guitar, but it does have over 100 buttons so I suppose it's pretty expensive to make. If you have any desire to learn guitar or bass, then this is easily one of the most entertaining ways to do so. I know Madcatz has a pretty bad reputation when it comes to their products, but this guitar is a quality item. I will definitely update this review if anything goes wrong with it however.

Best Deals for Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Xbox

First and foremost, the guitar does appear to work as advertised, however I bought it about a week ago and will be sending back tomorrow. I am familar with playing the guitar (not tons of experience, but can play a hadful of tunes) so I figured this would be a good way to enjoy Rock Band 3 and get some practice in at the same time.

I didn't realize just how much the fact that the strings at the bottom and the fret buttons were all the same size would throw me off. All of the strings are the same thickness/size (probably so they'll stay strong and won't break since there doesn't appear to be a way to change them), and this makes playing while staring at the TV extrememly difficult. Every string and button feels exactly the same, so it's difficult to play by feel.

Also, the guitar seems a lot heavier in the neck, and this kind of threw the balance off whenever I would play. Make sense due to the amount of wiring / etc. that i am sure is in the neck, but still pretty annoying.

I'm not saying that someone who kept trying couldn't maybe get used to it, but at this price why risk it? I'll be buying the actual guitar when it comes out later this year since this didn't work out. I felt bad about giving it two stars since it works as it should, etc. but two stars means "I don't like it" and that's the best description I would give it really. While it is an interesting idea, I can't see any reason to recommend this over the actual guitar Fender will be putting out later this year, especially after having used this one.

Honest reviews on Rock Band 3 Wireless Fender Mustang PRO-Guitar Controller for Xbox

I was a bit worried when I heard that Madcatz was doing the hardware for this RB3 Pro Guitar. Although Madcatz has improved their hardware over the years, I knew this pro guitar needed to be solid and with this many buttons, it had to have good quality.

Well the quality is very good overall and the body, buttons, and strings have a solid feel. The one area where the design is a bit weak is in the knobs that hold the strap, especially the one you screw is directly in the seem of the body and can easily push apart the seem of the guitar and not lock tight. To fix this, I just used a helping of Duco Cement. Now this means that I can no flip the strap to the lefty side but I can live with that and I don't have to worry about this knob popping out.

I also had to screw in a few of the top screws of the body (this was why the knob did not fit right) because it seemed one of the body screws was not fully seated. But I suspect this manufacturing glitch may not be that common.

Other than that, the guitar feels very solid for a plastic game controller. Much more solid and polished feel than I would have expected. Sure its an expensive game controller but its fairly complex piece of hardware and they did a very good job with making the buttons, neck, etc all feel like a guitar. Lighter and not quite as big as a guitar, but the fret distances are pretty much spot on.

One thing to note is that this guitar can be used in standard guitar modes and thats a good way to get a feel for the different fret spacing but the main purpose of this guitar is using pro mode to learn guitar. If you just want to play Rock Band with the best standard controller, this is not it. This guitar is for pro-mode and pro-mode has a much steeper learning curve than the standard Rock Band game. And for that purpose, this guitar delivers!

Pro-mode is very well done with great pacing where you go from learning basic notes and slowly advance to learning cords etc. And although they do not use tab for the notation, they have come up with a notation that is similar to tab but work well with the highway display and fast scrolling that will come with playing songs. I still think it would have bee nice to include a full tab mode but my guess is they tried that and found the new notation to work best.

So, although you will not learn tab reading skills, you will learn the chord names and shapes needed to play all the RB3 pro mode songs and that is impressive. Honestly, the pro mode trainers are much more complete than I would have thought. They really spent some time putting this together. Also, when you miss a chord, it can automatically stop the song, show you the correct fingering, and let you get it before you continue. It works very well and if you don't like it, you can turn it off.

Back to the hardware... Right now, I give it 5 stars because it just works. Now, for those that play guitar, you will quickly find issues here because, and this needs to be clear, this is not a guitar. Its a guitar trainer. It has some very basic differences that make some things hard to transition from real guitar to this trainer. First and most obvious is the lack of strings on the neck. What is the effect here? Well, you don't have the same feel for the string/fret so its a bit of a different feel as far as the coordination of your hands on the strings and pairing that up to the fret that pairs up with that string. But, since a real guitar give you more feedback, it may be easier to transition TO A REAL GUITAR, then FROM A REAL GUITAR. Which is sort of the whole point of a guitar training. So, if already know how to play a real guitar and you don't want re-learn a trainer, you should probably wait for the Fender Squier ($250-$350) to come out. But if you are just learning guitar, this makes one impressive trainer.

The only remaining question is how well the hardware hold up after months of use. So far, it feels like it will hold up well. But that is nearly impossible to predict. So, come back here in a few months and see if the review change. But for right now, this thing is a great guitar trainer.

UPDATE: I have since upgraded to Rocksmith for learning real guitar. At the time I did this review, RB pro-mode was the best choice. But today, I have to say that getting an inexpensive guitar and getting Rocksmith is a much better option. It does not change my review or score but I will say that I will not go back to Rockband Pro mode because I feel that Rocksmith has nailed the real-guitar trainer.

One of the three greatest inventions in the history of human kind....that greatly contributed to insomnia. Here they are..

1. Thomas Alva Edison invented the light bulb.

2. Microsoft (or who ever who sold it to them) invented the Kinect and Harmonix made Dance Central game for it.

3. Harmonix (once again) invented Pro Guitar for rockband 3.

Mustang Pro guitar is good. I mean really good. I mean really really good.

To start this review with.. I'm a beginning guitar player. I'm was studying the 4th stage of a 6 stage lesson DVD set (Metal Method by Doug Marks: he is great BTW) when I got the Mustang Pro guitar. Anyway long story short; I'm not a good guitar player at all.

*Can it teach you to play real guitar? Hex yeah!!

**Does the Mustang pro guitar simulate a real guitar? IMHO better!!

*First I did the first two of the training sessions with Mustang Pro. And then I picked up a real guitar while my wife tried the same training sessions with the Mustang Pro. On the real guitar I was able to easily play the same in the electric guitar with the practice I got from the mustang Pro. AND it sounds awesome sound coming out through the guitar amp when it blends with the sound track of the game. 'Hey, that sounds v-e-r-y good' were my wife's exact words.

**I have read comments about people talking about the guitar feeling light to; strings are same thickness to; buttons being the same thickness to; there is no correlation between buttons and the strings you strum. In my experience none of this is the case. I cannot feel the thickness of the strings with the pick anyway (duh.) What I am learning from this is the skill to approximate the distance between the strings without looking. With practice able to do this better and better. Same goes for the buttons. My finger beginning to remember where they need to move to press for each note. This is a skill I can take directly to the real guitar. The buttons work very well, interestingly even for slides.

So why did I say in someway the pro guitar is better than a real guitar... There is something more satisfying about picking these strings with the pick than picking real metal strings. I threw out the picks that came with it and got Dunlop standard thickness Nylon picks. When picking the strings with those picks the strings almost feel like these strings are rubber not plastic. It's a good feeling .. u'll know what I mean once you get one yourself [UPDATE A DAY LATER: I had only played single notes and power chords when I wrote this. Later I played major chords and the strings get pretty loud when doing that. No big deal though.] As far as the construction of the guitar goes it's sturdy enough and you forget about the guitar once you get immersed in the game. Maybe wish the body was bigger like a real guitar so I could rest the elbow of the strumming arm on it when sitting down.

The reason learning with this is better than learning with an actual guitar is... you ALAWAYS have a backing track and a cool note highway showing where to play.

I can write this review into pages but I would cut it short.. because I myself dislike reading long reviews.

-If you want to learn guitar buy this.

-If you want to teach your kids guitar buy them this.

-If you don't have the time, patience or interest to learn don't buy this

I did notice one thing...in most of the trainings it tells you where which finger to put on which fret. On two trainings it did not tell me where how to move down the frets . For example it was wanting me to play 5th, 7th and 8th frets and to play the 5th string with my index finger. Suddenly it wants me to play the 9th fret but does not tell me which finger to use. So I'm confused whether to move my hand all the way down and play with the index or stretch my pinky to play the 9th fret (this was a base line by the way. ) I wish there was an option where I could watch a video of a hand playing that piece if I wanted to . That's about all I can nit pick about. I would figure this out or ask somebody who knows... so no big deal.

TEN stars. Harmonix, come here so I can give you a kiss.

I bought this game for my wife who loves to sing, but I must admit that I kinda like it too. You get to customize your own singer (which is part of the fun; I got mine to look almost exactly like me) as well as the option to design the stages and venues where you sing. The game has a mixer-type set up which gives you the options to increase or decrease the volume of the music, the crowd, the singers' voices and player's voice separately. The game doesn't require that you sing perfectly to get points; just that you hit the right pitch. There are co-op and competition duets for two players. If you are not in the mood to play for points, there is a karaoke mode that simply shows the complete song verses (instead of the scrolling words on the bottom in regular game mode) on the screen to sing along with just like a traditional karaoke song video. It is definitely more fun to play the more people there are. The only downside is the song selection; while my wife and I are bilingual and liked a couple of the Spanish songs that were featured, the others were not all that exciting. Plus, most of the songs from the 70's and 60's were downright boring. The DLC content from XBL consists of only about 10 or 11 additional songs. All-in-all, we have no interest in about half of the songs. I realise it's hard to create a song line-up that pleases everyone when releasing a game that is meant to appeal to the general public, but that's why they should've had more DLC songs available like with the KRAI & DDR games. Still, this is a fun game especially if you are a karaoke fan.

Just a word of caution as a side note, especially to all those who think 'karaoke game = kids/ family game': you may want to review the song list (which can be found on Wiki) before buying as there are several songs based on overtly sexual themes. For that reason, along with some light profanity, it is rated T for teen.

I am a long time follower of Karaoke Revolution. I have all of the old editions from my PS2 and was eager to pick up a few new karaoke games for my Xbox 360. I picked up this game, in addition to a game called Lips. Unfortunately... Karaoke Revolution let me down.

Problem 1: The words scroll across the screen VERY FAST. When you don't know the words to a song, it's frustrating. You can't read ahead (unlike it's competitor).

Problem 2: Some songs... you can't hear the original artist. I turned the vocalist volume all the way up.. and it was still quiet.

Problem 3: There are some VERY FAST paced Spanish songs on this track. I know we're moving towards being bilingual.. but we're not really there yet. And if there's going to be a song in a foreign language on there... it should be more common.. or slower. Combined with problem 1 for English songs.. This was unbearable for Spanish songs.

Problem 4: There were no available songs for download and no one online for Xbox live. This will probably change after the game isn't so new... but wasn't a problem for it's competitor.

There are some improvements to the game. There is a Party mode that saves all of the players who were in the party the previous time. We play the game for holidays with family and I hated setting up everyone before. Now.. everyone can have their own profile. Their name will come up and they can sing whenever. Removing and adding players is easy.

It doesn't kick you out for bad singing. Kids can finish their songs.. They won't get bummed and develop a complex.

Best Deals for Karaoke Revolution - Xbox 360 (Bundle)

I'm a big karaoke fan. My voice is terrible and people's ears bleed when I sing but I still love doing it. I've owned Karaoke Revolution and Karaoke Revolution Party for the original Xbox, Lips for the 360, Rock Band, Lego Rock Band, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, and other Guitar Hero titles, and now Karaoke Revolution 2009 for the 360.

So now I'm reviewing Karaoke Revolution 2009 for the 360. I loved previous versions of Karaoke Revolution and it's my favorite singing game of all the aforementioned games so I was quite looking forward to KR2009 for the 360.

First I'll begin with the microphones that are compatible with KR2009. Karaoke Revolution comes with the standard Logitech microphone and although it is wired, it's a very good microphone with good gain. You can singly quietly or loudly and it handles it all very well. I also used the microphone that came with Guitar Hero World Tour and it's also a very good microphone that is also wired. I would consider these mics equivalent and both work very well in Karaoke Revolution 2009.

Now many people also own the wireless mics that come with Lips. I so much want to love these mics because they're wireless, have accelerometers, and have pulsating lights. But the most important aspect of a mic is how it sounds. When I first got them with Lips, they sounded terrible in Lips. My awful voice sounded even more horrendous in Lips. In Karaoke Revolution, the wireless Lips mics work okay (and sound better than in Lips) but you have to boost the gain to max because they're not powerful mics. And you have to sing with more force than with the other mics. Now in Lips, these wireless mics were much louder albeit your voice sounded more artificial and often the Lips game added sound effects to your voice even when you didn't want any effects.

So now mics aside, how well does Karaoke Revolution 2009 play? I still think the Karaoke Revolution series has the best overall gameplay for a karaoke game. KR2009 has pretty good character customization but it's not as good as in the Guitar Hero/Band Hero games. The gameplay modes are great and there's a wide variety. If you like to sing, this is the game for you. The scrolling text and pitch bars are easy to follow. It's nice to now play in a game designed for a 16:9 screen. Karaoke Revolution has been a series that chose songs that are very good to sing. There are songs that are great to listen but hard to sing (for any number of different reasons including choppy phrasing, wild swings in pitch, etc.). KR2009 has a great mix of songs that allow an average singer like me to easily adjust my pitch on the fly during the song. I do wish that KR2009 had a bigger song list though but if they develop their online song store, then the song list won't be a problem. I will note that there are a number of Spanish songs on the songlist. I don't speak Spanish and while I do understand how large the Spanish-speaking population is, I don't think they should include them on an English-speaking game.

Now some of the problems with KR2009. The graphics are not dynamic enough. I don't mean just the background graphics, but we'll start with the graphics from the perspective of someone watching the game, it looks okay, but it looks like Xbox1 or PS2 graphics with higher resolution. Not ugly but not pretty either. Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero look much better. But now the graphics as you're singing. In previous Karaoke Revolution games like on the Xbox1 machine, the arrows and the glowing effects were much stronger and bigger. They were easier to follow. The graphics of the pitch bar, arrows, etc. of KR2009 are much more subdued and harder to follow. It's harder to tell if you're singing in a zone for bonus multiplier, etc. I play on a 62" 1080P screen so it wasn't too big of a problem. But I can imagine trying to play on a 32" screen and thinking they should've beefed it up a bit. Subtle graphics are great for a first-person shooter. Not great for a karaoke game where words are scrolling fast and you need to keep pitch.

The career mode is weak. I can't get a sense of any purpose to it. Yes, career mode is not that important in a music game and KR2009 is a party game mostly but it would've been nice to have a career mode that was enjoyable or had a sense of purpose to it. The instructions are terrible. They might as well print no game manual.

So how does KR2009 compare to the other karaoke games? Let's start off with the games that are not pure karaoke: the Guitar Hero series and Rock Band series. As a singing game, KR2009 is much better because its games are more singable. Guitar Hero and Rock Band have mostly hard rock songs that are very difficult to sing with very snapping phrasing and little melody. Those songs are all about the music rather than the melody of singing.

Band Hero does have a few songs like KR2009 so it's easier to compare. for the songs that are similar to KR2009, I like Band Hero more because it has multiple ways to show the lyrics and pitch bar. I like the static karaoke of Band Hero. very easy to follow the pitch bar and the lyrics and very easy to sing to the game. If all of the songs of Band Hero were of the same vein as KR2009, I would find it a superior game. But Band Hero is a mix of Guitar Hero/Rock Band and KR2009 so there are far too many rock songs to sing. Also, judging on Band Hero is very lenient so sometimes, you can do no wrong.

How does Karaoke Revolution 2009 compare to Lips? I made a review of Lips so you can read that. to sum it up, KR2009 is a superior game in my opinion to Lips. Because Lips is more of a karaoke machine than a karaoke game. Plus Lips had a very difficult pitch bar and lyrics to follow. the Lips soundtrack is good to listen to but not a good song list to sing. And Lips makes my voice sound terrible. KR2009 makes a lot of people sound okay to great. Lips does look much better graphically than KR2009 if you're just looking at the screen while someone else is playing. The graphics are great and you often have a music video to follow too. But again, the pitch bar and lyrics are much easier to follow in KR2009 than in Lips.

But here's the problem. KR2009 has no to very little online songs to download. Lips has a big online store so you can keep buying songs to add to your collection. I really don't want to buy songs for Lips because I don't like that game. But if KR2009 doesn't develop its store, I'm stuck with Lips. And the Lips online library is really good.

So to summarize, Karaoke Revolution 2009 is a great game but pray that Konami supports the game with an online store with songs to download. Otherwise, if no store develops, my review of KR2009 plummets. Because the song list isn't big enough or good enough to survive on its own. The gameplay mechanics of KR2009 is too good to let it die a sad death. Let's hope Konami supports the game. Otherwise, if you're a 360 owner, you're stuck with rock songs from Rock Band/Guitar Hero. Lips is okay and I could learn to like Lips but I feel Karaoke Revolution is a better karaoke game.

I'm more of a novice videogame playermy husband bought an Xbox with kinectand bought me this game to play because I like karoke-

it's everything I was looking for in a karoke gamethe songs are AWESOMEsome Top 40, some classics, some 80s songs

The words go across the bottom of the screen in the same speed you are supposed to be singing them at

there is a little arrow that goes up/down on the words at the correct pitch you are supposed to be singing at-

If your looking for a fun quick singing game with some great songs! this is your game!

Bought this game as alternative to an actual karaoke machine for my daughter. I think the machine would've been better. Lyrics move way too fast, hard to hear yourself sing. I would not recommend it!!! Not worth the price.

This is by far the best pure flight combat simulator I have ever played on consoles and on PCs for that matter, and is a worthy sequel to Birds of Prey. While there is an included 'simplistic' difficulty setting, the fun begins at the realistic and especially simulator modes. Be prepared for white knuckle carrier landings in pitching seas, modify prop pitches, trims, mixtures while trying to get a shot at the enemy and being shot at. Marvel as your engine cuts off after you've pulled negative G's and you frantically attempt to restart it as you spin and plummet to earth. At high speeds the close combat is exhilirating, the damage modeling is amazing and the game is just simply one that is quality through and through. The graphics are amazing and the wealth of content on disc should embarrass most other game devs, the replay value of this game is through the roof. There is a ton of COOP and versus multiplayer modes that are just as intense as the single player offerings. Just an amazing game and the true definition of a gem in gaming, an instant classic!

Very happy with this game considering it only cost $39 buckaroos !

I love the realistic mode in the single player mode.

Still trying to get the hang of all the flying maneuvers in realistic

mode. The instructions (walk thru) are pretty much straight up but actually

doing them is another thing. I'm not talking about the basics I'm

talking about fancy maneuvers...not easy but not too hard and it feels great

when you start to get the hang of it.

Bottom line..if you love flying get this game..I love the realistic option!

This is in game flight during a carrier Bombing on replay saved. I can't think of another title that has drawn me more to the XBox360 from my PC. Long time IL-2 fan on PC but this is the best darn Flyer I have ever flown on the XBox360, including IL-2. From Arcade mode thru SIM mode, you can't ask for much more then this! Daytime clear weather to night time storms! Editor included to keep it fresh for a long long time! What's not to like? Excellent combined with a Saitek Aviator XBox360 Joystick!

You have all the options for flaps, trim etc. although not clickable switch cockpits it's all there. Including the "pilot" sitting in the seat! Settings to back it down to Arcade mode is also available. There you can learn to "lead" your targets with cursor help.

Once you advance to SIM mode, all the gamey options are gone and you use your visual lead in mind and use cockpit gauges for speed, altitude etc. You have the option of air starts or airport and carrier take offs. Many Planes and variants available along with some history on those planes. Graphics are spot on and performance is what you always wanted from IL-2 on the PC. I believe this title is what is comming to PC as "World of Planes" and will dominate in the near future!

I could not be happier with their decisions to bring this much of a Filght game to the Consoles! Congrats to the Developers!!

Honest reviews on Birds of Steel - Xbox 360

Let me start by saying I have never been a fan of "old school" plane games. Modern fighters and lock-on missiles are more my forte. However, after playing the demo for Birds of Steel, I was hooked! Perhaps it's because of the amount of detail put into each of the 100+ planes. Or maybe it's the unique feel of each plane in the air. Whatever the reason, this game is an absolute blast to play. It's even more enjoyable when you play with your Xbox Live buddies. If you can forgive a few rare technical flaws (AI crashing into you, unexplained deaths, etc), you will be in for a treat!

Pros:

excellent interior and exterior detailing on planes

unique feel to flying each plane

numerous game mode choices, including campaign, dynamic campaign, mission editor, versus, events, and tournaments

dynamic campiagn and mission editor let you customize your missions

one of the BEST co-op plane games I have ever played (including Ace Combat series and HAWX)

customizable buttons for unique controls

value! This game is definitely worth more than the $40 retail price!

Cons

there are some bugs: players drop out of games sometimes (rare), AI wingmen and opponents crash into your plane

learning curve can be steep

I was relucant to buy a new flying game on the xbox 360 after being disappointed by the last few games I bought. Fortunately the reviews convinced me to give Birds of Steel a shot. At the core of the game there is a robust multiplayer component that will give this game lasting value.

The multiplayer has a variety of co-op and versus modes. You gain experience and points you can use to unlock hundreds of vintage war planes. Moreover, you can customize your plane with decals and art if you so choose. There is also a very cool mission editor that allows you create your own missions to fly with friends. 4 players can play co-op. Or 8 on 8 versus mode.

The single player mode consists of a historical campaign which is great for letting you get the hang of flying. The simplified mode is a good place to start. Realistic mode makes flying considerably trickier as you will stall a bit more often. Simulator mode is very difficult--I found too difficult using the xbox controller. The idea in simulator mode is to finesse the controls, so you'll never push the thumbstick all the way when turning or dogfighting or else you'll push the machine and your character beyond their limits (ending in a black out or tail spin).

The graphics are solid. There are 3 main angles you play with: cockpit view, "virtual cockpit" and an over the shoulder 3rd person point of view. Personally, I prefer the cockpit view. The enemy aircraft are detailed; however, you have to be VERY close to see those details.

This is a fun flight game. Certainly the best vintage flier on the xbox today. My brother and I each own copies, and I can say we're happy with the value as we've spent hours flying sorties in the Ruhr vally, over Midway, and Wake Island. As of this writing Birds of Steel has offered the first bits of DLC including more missions (Battle of Britain) and more planes. I love to see a company continue to support their games. This game is a great purchase!

Review of Playstation 3 250GB System - Slim (Redesign)

Playstation 3 250GB System - Slim

Of course it can play video games and that should be its primary function. It does this well. The online Playstation store makes it easy to browse titles and even better, download free demos. This model (250 GB Slim redesign) comes with enough stock memory to last you a good while, whether you're storing games, music, or movies. I personally like the sliding cover over a retractable disc tray. It eases the placement of the discs so I don't feel like I have to be as delicate, not to mention it's easy to see any dust accumulation and/or access the laser for cleaning. And I don't know that there's problems with the disc tray, but the less moving parts the better. You can hear some of the disc reading noises, but it's usually short lived and not really bothersome anyways. I've had it running night after night, sometimes for 6 hours continuous and it's not getting hot at all...just a slight warmth.

I also now use it to stream Netflix, through which we watch all kinds of TV shows and movies. I would recommend an HDMI cable though, assuming you have a TV capable of supporting it. It makes a noticeable difference in the resolution. The settings can usually be used on default and are fairly intuitive, but there's a wealth of things you can change or tweak to suit your needs. For example I have my HDMI cable running to my TV, but also have the RG cables running to my PA mixer for even bigger sound. But to allow this you have to allow it to split audio outputs first.

There's probably an overabundance of other reviews about its usage, so I'll just close with a glowing recommendation. I played my PS2 for over a decade (still running btw, but obviously no longer in use). This system blows it away. With the PS4 coming out later this year, you might be wary of getting an "outdated" system. If you haven't had this generation system yet, I'd say now is the perfect time to get one. There's literally years worth of games to choose from, many of which are under $20 brand new. And don't expect developers to abandon the PS3 for at least 3-5 more years, and even then, you probably couldn't play everything that's already been released (my Amazon wishlist has over 100 games). So far I've bought one game used and 4 games new, yet the total spent was only about $60...or about as much as a new release game.

One other note: I bought mine used. It showed absolutely no signs of wear, but it was missing 2 of the 4 rubber feet on the bottom. I haven't missed them. Provided you have some level of trust with the seller, I'd say go ahead and buy used if you see a good deal that clearly specifies what's included. They're seemingly sturdy systems. Although I wouldn't get one of the older models, especially a "fat", as those ran hot and tended to have YLOD problems. That being said, the brand new systems are hardly a ripoff either, especially if you're getting a bundle.

After reading reviews I decided used was my best option. The console plays like brand new and I haven't run into any issues. The controller had a button that sticks occasionally, but overall this is a great purchase for those who aren't ready to pay for the next gen.

Disclaimer: I'm a first time Playstation buyer. I just upgraded from my trusty, yet very old Wii. I am very new to Playstation, so I won't be able to tell you a lot about how it differs from other Playstations.

I had owned a Wii for around 4 years when I decided it was time for an upgrade. My Wii was pretty good, but it didn't have the controller, graphics, or games that I wanted. So, I began a week-long search for a console. I new one thingit had to be able to play NCAA football and Madden, since I am a complete sports geek XD. So, that narrowed it down to two systemsthe Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. I looked at prices, controllers, layout, games, settings, build, graphics, processors, everything. The Xbox won in almost everything but the price, since you have to pay $60 a year for a Xbox Live Gold membership, which I certainly didn't want to pay. I didn't really know what to expect from either, so I wen't ahead and took a gamble on the PS3. I've never made a better decision. The thing runs like a dream, with only a few laggy spots at very hard-to-process moments. But don't worry, the lag isn't bad at all, and only stays around for 2-3 seconds. No biggie. The layout is great, and easy to access. I bought a bundle with the eye and move, so I could still have that Wii-like aspect if I wanted it. Both controllers work great, and are easy to use. Now, I will get into the real review.

Build-

I bought the PS3 Super Slim, and it is very small. It's actually only around two inches taller then the Wii. You press a button to open the Disc Slot, and simply put the disc in and close the 'door' firmly. It actually is quite fun to close the door. You actually feel like you are manually putting in some software, which is fun. And yes, I do like the simple things in life :) One more thingA lot of reviews say that this console is rather flimsy. I haven't had any problems at all. Honestly, please don't believe what the other reviews say. It really isn't flimsy.

Games-

I only really play Sports games on this, so I can't really review how the first-person shooters look on the PS3, since I'm not really into those. However, seeing how it runs with NCAA and Madden, I don't think you'd have any problems playing GTA 5, Call of Duty, or anything else.

Hardware-

The version I bought comes with 250gb of space, which is way more then I'll ever need. It's processor is fast, the graphics are great, and it really does run like a dream. Of course, it won't equal a mid/high-range gaming pc, but for the ps3 games made for it, this console will work just fine.

Controller-

At first, I didn't like this controller, but it's easy to get used to, and fairly easy to use. Certainly an upgrade from the motion stick that the Wii used :)

Overall-

Honestly, this thing will run just fine for you. It does exactly what a console shouldstays out of the way, is quiet, and lets you immerse yourself in your game, without worrying about what the console is doing. After all, it's more about the content then the console. As long as it runs without lag, I think we are all okay. By the way, I should mention that while the Xbox charges $60 a year for online gaming, Netflix and Hulu+, the Playstation charges nothing. That finalized the deal for me. I actually was able to save even more by purchasing this from Ebay, which brought the bundle's total down from $275 to $225.

Anyway, I recommend this product 100%, and I hope I helped you with your decision.

Cheap Ultimate Xbox 360 XCLAMP Repair Kit - 3 Red Light X-Clamp Fix w

Ultimate Xbox 360 XCLAMP Repair Kit - 3 Red Light X-Clamp Fix w/ Arctic Silver Alumina & Opening Unlock Toolkit
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

The XCLAMP repair kit includes all the parts necessary to repair an Xbox 360 exhibiting the "red ring of death", or three flashing red lights. After installing the kit, my Xbox was repaired. However, the instructions included with the kit are very poor, and do not include sufficient pictures/diagrams to accurately depict the disassembly of the Xbox. Moreover, the kit does NOT include the following two tools that are required for disassembly:

1/4" socket driver

VERY small flathead screwdriver (I used something typically used for eyeglasses repair)

Perhaps most importantly, the instructions included with the kit actually miss a critical step for disassembly (which requires the 1/4" socket driver). If you are using this kit, I would recommend the iFixit repair guide, which offers much more detailed and accurate disassembly instructions, pictures, and videos.

First of all I'll start out by saying that this repair kit fixed my xbox 360 like a charm. I didn't have the Rrod, but my xbox wasn't displaying video anymore, so I gave this kit a shot, and I'm glad I did.

I'll start a more in depth review by reviewing the quality of the product itself first. The kit comes with all the necessary hardware to easily take apart the 360 and reinstall the heatsinks effectivly. The "official" xbox360 opening kit fits like a glove, and it holds up pretty well (the only problem I had was that the pointy part to push down the clips on the outside casing started to bend when I was done, but it still did its job well). The kit also comes with extra washers which helped me out a ton. Finally, this particular kit comes with 3 artic silver products to reapply thermal paste to the heatsinks (you may notice several different kits when you search amazon, most contain the essentials to do the x-clamp fix like the screws and washers while some contain various thermal paste). Artic Silver is probably one of the best thermal pastes on the market, so this is why I choose this kit.

Installation...

The installation took me about 2 hours from start to finish, and for the most part the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. I was able to do the whole installation by myself, but for some parts it would help to have an extra hand or two available especially when reinstalling the heatsinks.

NOTE: I would recommend grounding yourself while you do this since you're working with the motherboard directly, and any electronic circuit board can be destroyed by static electricity. You can ground yourself by touching a metal object before working, also it's best to avoid carpet surfaces if you can.

End Result...

At first when I hooked up my 360 and turned it on it still didn't display video. I figured I'd let it run for a little bit for the thermal paste to take hold, and the heatsinks to reset onto the chips(around 10-15 minutes). I then held the power button in until it turned off. Once I turned it back on I was pleasently suprised to see the video displaying on my 360 without any errors.

Best Deals for Ultimate Xbox 360 XCLAMP Repair Kit - 3 Red Light X-Clamp Fix w

I originally picked this kit up to fix a red ring on my current original production Xbox 360. When I removed the casing of the 360, I noticed a lot of dust had accumulated in it and used an air compressor to clean it out. Before I even started messing with the heat sinks I wanted to try and see if the 360 would power up and the red ring would go away. To my surprise It booted up without red rings!

After fixing the current 360 I had an idea to fix the other original production 360 I had kept around that red ringed. I followed the same process as the first but still a red ring. I started going farther in the directions with cleaning off the old thermal paste, repaste, and reclamp using the parts in the kit. Started it up and no red rings!

Directions were easy to follow and kit was what I expected.

If I need to get another kit to fix another 360, I would choose this one.

This kit fixed my 360 elite which had a problem where it wouldnt display video anymore. I heard the x-clamp fix would fix the problem and sure enough it did (note: the 360 also had Rrod in the past as well but was fixed and didnt get that error this time).

Thanx for the kit! :)

Buttons all look great and work fine after some work. The Y button was a little too big, and would stick in the opening. Also the tabs at the base were slightly off center on the same Y button. A little sand paper on fixed the sticking, and cut the tab down a little. Nothing major, but enough that I give it a 4 out of 5. I would buy this item again.

I purchased this to upgrade the looks of my wireless controller and it did a great job at that! The only complaint I have about it is the "Y" button stuck when I installed it. It needed to be sanded down some to make it work, but lucky for me the stock "Y" button is already an orange-ish color. The stock button looks identical to the aftermarket buttons. All in all I would recommend this product. It all fits very nicely in the controller and really upgrades the look for a very fair price.

Once you enter it on Steam it is tied to your account though, so if you want to give it as a gift, just copy the key code from the screen and send it in an e-mail to whoever you want to gift it to. You don't have to rush to activate them, the keys are stored in you Account-->Games & Software Library and won't expire. You can choose to activate them on Steam right away or wait and do it later when you're ready to start playing the games.

Note: To download using Steam you have to first create a Steam account(which is free) and then install their Downloader. The games can also be downloaded through Amazon(using their downloader) and then activated on Steam. (Amazon downloads always take longer for me though) Once activated, Steam will automatically apply games patches/updates(when and if needed).

This is a great collection to anyone who feels a litlle nostalgia for old 16 bit games.

You get 50 games in this single pack. While not all of the Sega Genesis important games are here (missing Sonic, Chakan and a few others), the collection is quite impressive.

The game requires a Steam account. If you dont know anything about Steam, visit (in a nutshell is one of the best digital game distribution systems and a great gaming community tool)

On this package you receive 5 installation codes that you input into Steam and that activates the games.

You first deal with a launcher where you select the game you want to play. This launcher allows you to save your position in any game at any time, so for some of the RPGs this is great. It also allows you to configure your game pad. I am curretnly using an Xbox 360 game pad and it works great with this launcher. You can also select resolution and aspect ratio you want out of the games.

The games scale nicely in the higher resolution screens of today. I just recently played Shadow Dancer and Streets of Rage 2 in my 1080p monitor and it looked great in fullscreen (I decided to maintain the 4:3 aspect radio of old TVs instead of going with the widescreen option).

While some of the games are not as good as others, just the value of the Shinobi games, the Phantasy Star games and the Streets of Rage games makes this worthwhile.

Yes, dont expect remakes of the games, this are exactly like the ROMS you can get at some sites on the web that are run with emulators. I just think that the launcher, the integration to Steam and the ability to configure a game pad makes this a great prize.

I expected to see individually games, without emulation, or at least a better front-end for the emulator, the games run normally but doesn't have modern video filters like hqsai, 2xSai... and game controllers (joypads) doesn't work with the front-end, they work only inside the games.

Honest reviews on Sega Genesis Classic Game Pack

The only reason I got this is because this was on sale for VERY cheap, I love the Genesis back in the day, and I expected Sonic games! The only Sonic game that's in it is 3D Blast, and that's an OK game, I just expected Sonic 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles. There are other good games, like Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Vectorman. Still good to get when it's cheap!

This pack, when on sale, typically goes for around $7.50 assuming you have a retro vibe going, which is why you're looking at reviews for Genesis games, this is a steal at that price and includes Mega Drive Game Packs 1-5 in Steam-redeemable keys. The only downside? You have to redeem the keys on steam. HOWEVER, you can run the emulator (program that makes the games work on modern computers) outside of steam.

For a retro gamer such as myself, this was easily worth the $7.50 just for pack 5, which includes Phantasy Star 2-4.

Like all the other reviewers loving this mouse, I join them too. I'll talk a bit about the Perixx then compare this mouse to the Anker (also for sale on Amazon at about the same price).

My thoughts: I palm the mouse, and it fits well. I just wish they contoured it with a bit more curve to the left. I'm not quite too sure how to claw it since the back is raised a bit high and you inadvertently end up palming it a bit.

I bought the Anker High Precision Laser Gaming Mouse with 8000 DPI (it's also on Amazon for about the same price as this mouse). If you were in my position and trying to decide between the two, both are superb mice and they have very very minor pro/cons but you can't go wrong with either of them. The Anker mouse is smaller and easier to claw, but still great for palming. Both mice have a bit stiff of a middle mouse click. Both mice are the same somewhat in design (the plastic running down the edges, where the rubber grips are... the kind of rubber grips used and the mouse wheel, the mouse wheel looks exactly the same apart from the Anker's is lit). Even the software feels the same to me (it looks different, but you have the same tabs, the same features, the same bugs (the DPI reset), the same sort of color pallet to choose color). I actually think both mice were based off of a common ancestor or they were designed off one another due to the many similarities underlying them both.

Quick pro/cons of the Anker vs the Perixx:

Anker has better button placement for the thumb, but the buttons below the middle mouse weren't so great in position

Perixx has more buttons, but the lower thumb button sometimes doesn't seem to register

The Perixx's macro feature has less stuff than the Anker. The Anker you can basically do... anything. The Perixx is limited mainly in you can't include mouse clicks, and you can only program button clicks.

The Perixx has a nicer weight holder case (metal vs the Anker's plastic case) but it's a minor thing if you ask me

If you're curious, I had to return the Anker mouse after 10 days since it started acting sluggish (cursor input was delayed by about 0.5 seconds) and their customer service was awesome in getting me a refund. I think if I were to buy one or the other all over again, I may go with the Anker for the excellent thumb buttons. But they're both great mice.

I recently was in the market for a wired mouse to replace a wireless mouse; I swear was experiencing some interference. (Lots of folks in the office use Logitech mice) I typically do not purchase a peripheral with such little feedback but reviewing the specs of this mouse and the price, I was willing to give it a shot. I have to say I'm Very Pleasantly Surprised. Prior to purchase, the deciding factors for me: Omron switches (once a Technician, I'm familiar with Omron), braided cable, rubberized coating, added buttons, and the price!

The switches are responsive with clicking sounds including the thumb button at the base. You can't "flick" the wheel which is something I miss, but it does have a distinct bump feel I'm pleased with which should prevent ghost-scrolling. I forgot how light a wired mouse is! It came with weights (I have two in currently), but coming from a wireless mouse holding two AA batteries it didn't matter considering all weights in would still render the mouse light. No complaints, I can whiz around the screen now and despite the weight doesn't make the mouse feel cheap. The bottom has four teflon pads for easier gliding, seems many of the mice I have only have 3 pads. I love the feel of the rubberized, ribbed grips on the sides. I'm indifferent about the rubberized top which I imagine will begin to look used with hand goo in short time; although, I find I'm not palming the mouse like I was expecting, may be moot. Programming the buttons was fairly simple, I did have a moment of confusion when it came to trying to assign a CTRL+W to the under thumb button. Typically it would be considered a single keystroke configuration, but it's not, it's actually a macro displaying the following: CTRL(down arrow), W(down arrow), W(up arrow), CTRL(up arrow). You'll get the ah ha moment just like me and realize how extensible that becomes for more complex operations (there is an option to insert a pause, haven't tried it). The advanced settings allow you to change polling rate and other settings including the LED color of the logo which makes sense if you had multiple profiles, but...

Couple very minor gripes. No button assignment option for changing profiles. Since you can change the LED color, I expected you could assign a color to a profile; then cycle profiles with a button assignment displaying the associated color assignment. Nope. That may have been an item cut from the schedule to complete cause you can assign a button to change just the LED color only, worthless, imho. Moving on, I like the quality of the braided cable, but think it's just a bit stiff. It doesn't get in the way, but it won't lay flat if you have OCD it could keep you busy. LOL!

Final thoughts. Don't let the couple gripes deter you from giving this fine peripheral a shot. I did, will again and I've recommended it to others. The price was great and you get a great mouse that typically would be priced higher. It earns 5 stars. If it was priced higher, I would only give it 4 stars just for the lack of profile switching on the fly. I'm now looking seriously at other Perixx products.

I was terrified to order this mouse because there were no reviews on it. However, I have been using it for the last few days and have loved the mouse.

I went from a plain desktop mouse to this gaming mouse, so pretty much anything is an upgrade. I really like how this mouse feels. It's a laser mouse, so it will work on any surface, really. The shape of the mouse fits my hand (I'm a medium sized hand...) it looks good, you can customize the buttons, it's really great. However when they say 11 customizable buttons, don't take that as true. It means you can customize your left and right click, scroll wheel click, scroll wheel left/right click, DPI +/-, forward/back buttons, and two buttons on either side of the mouse. One of the buttons is defaulted to a double-click, and the other changes the color of the LED that shows the Perixx symbol. I remapped the two buttons to the side for 3 and 4 so I can use my 3 and 4 items in League of Legends without having to use the buttons on the keypad. Items 1 and 2 are mapped through League to forward and back.

The responsiveness of the mouse is great. The clicks are nice. I like that you can add weight I like a heavier mouse.

All in all, it's a great mouse. The software is a little bit weird you have to restart your computer twice to get it to work properly, but once you do, you can fully customize the mouse. You can change the color of the logo LED to pretty much whatever color you want. I'm very happy with the mouse so far, but I will come back if any issues arise.

Honest reviews on Perixx MX-2000II, Programmable Gaming Laser Mouse - Black - 8

I just picked up this mouse for $35 from amazon. I actually already own several high-end gaming mice, but the feature list of this mouse, along with the price tag, made me decide it was worth it, just out of pure curiosity.

I now consider this mouse to be the best for money, by a mile. I can't say I love it as much as some $75+ mice, but there is nothing in this thing's league in this price range. The mouse switches are all very precise and responsive, the tracking is excellent, and the mouse build quality feels very solid. You feel like you're using a real piece of hardware, which is something some mice that cost twice as much don't get right. The scroll wheel is second only to the R.A.T. 7 mouse for awesomeness.

The few cons are the software, and the lack of onboard memory. I had some trouble getting the included software to see the mouse, and it also takes 2 full computer restarts to make it happen, but once I did, the software was fine. Windows drivers actually work okay, and if you just plug it in, the dpi switcher and everything still works as advertised, so its not a huge deal. Onboard memory would also be nice so that you could take your mouse to a different computer and have all your settings saved, but again, at this price, that is hardly a deal breaker.

All in all, I can fully recommend this mouse to anyone looking for something below $50 bucks. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Tip: I had to run the software as an administrator before it would see the mouse.

Ok so first off lets just say this mouse is amazing. I am coming from a razer mamba which was a $130 mouse that decided to quit on me. I really didn't want to spend much on a new mouse and decided to settle on this one. I couldn't believe it. This mouse is everything and more than the Mamba. The only thing it doesn't have was its not wireless, where as the mamba could be both wireless and wired. But no loss there.

This thing tracks so well and is butter smooth. Tons of programmable buttons and dpi settings as well. I paired it up with this mouse pad. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005P4F0EM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00. This pad was $10 and I am not kidding when I say this..It is the best mouse pad I have ever owned. The two together are amazing.

I am an avid gamer and have always spent tons of money on my mice and gaming pads until now. $44 is all I spent total and I have no regrets at all.

Do not hesitate on this mouse. GET IT NOW!!!!

This game is incredible. I have a love/hate relationship with it. There is a learning curve to it with regards to drifting, which is a required skill if you wish to place in any of the races. At first I hated it, cars kept spinning out from oversteer... or I'd smash into a wall due to understeer. Went searching on forums to see if there was any kind of trick to it, general consensus is PRACTICE! Which is what video games are about. That frustrating, wanting to throw your controller through the wall because it "JUST WON'T DO WHAT YOU WANT!" feeling followed by pure ecstatic nirvana when you finally nail it.

This game is a sure departure from the original Ridge Racer formula where you're basically on rails and the cars float around the circuit. Bug Bear, the developer behind Flat-Out really knows how to make a racer!

There is an interesting aspect to the game that happens when nailing several drifts in a row and boosting through opponents, low-walls and shortcuts it seems to transform into a melee of flashes and hectic explosions that evoke pure adrenalin. Like raging out, hulk-status. Not in a cheesy way, but it does remind me of Mario after he gets the flashing star.

Another little thing I like is that once a level loads... it's loaded. You can restart the race with zero-load time. Which is great for when you fail into a wall and get dropped back to 12 place on your last lap.

A minor quirk that doesn't detract too much from the game is every once in a while after boosting though a shortcut or after a "takedown" and you get the (skippable) cinematic, upon resuming racing it might throw you into a wall or into the next curve at a very unsalvageable angle. This however happens rarely, but frequently enough to mention.

I am about half-way through the un-lockable levels of the city, I have yet to try the level editor and I don't play multiplayer. I will update this review if anything more needs to be said about it, or once I try the level editor.

Yep, nothing like a real driving simulation, this is fantasy driving 101. I mean how real is Call of Duty part whatever? This is actually fun though. I didn't have success for the first 3 races, but it was enough fun that I kept going and won my 4th race. I also upgraded after a couple of losing races and got a new car and track, although I stunk. That was nice, and along with the fun, kept it entertaining. After the newness, I don't see myself racing this nonstop, but I can see popping it in for 4-5 races once/twice a week or so for a pure set of adrenaline races. It's kind of like a cross of Blur and a modernized Ridge Racer of old, meaning much better graphics. It's got cars galore, fancy, powerful, etc, but like blur you destroy stuff. You don't destroy it the same way, but you can boost your car right through buildings or other cars, and even without boosting, you can smash through quite a bit...again, this isn't a real driving simulation. Oh, as a final note, the sounds are amazing to me, I jacked up the surround, and IMO, no other racer has the sound effects of this bad boy!

This game is incredible, but it's REALLY hard. You're going to find yourself restarting the race many times. This may be a good thing, but it can get annoying at times.
