Before this game was released I was somewhat looking forward to it, but not with a great interest. Well thats until I actually played it. The first thing to blow me away were the graphics. They are absolutely breathtaking. The CG movies, the in game graphics, special effects, just amazing. But the game isn't all graphics and no gameplay. Believe it or not, the gameplay is actually better than the graphics. You can do everything you've seen ninjas do in movies. Swinging, climbing, wall running and of course slashing peoples limbs off. And it all just looks so real. The moves and weapons are also fantastic. Some of the coolest moves I've seen in any game for awhile. They are also easy for beginners, but hardcore gamers can spend alot of time on perfecting them. The stages are very varied and very large, the sound is nice and the enemies and weapons are also very varied. One problem that many people may have is the game's difficulty. It is very hard. The first boss, for example, is exceptionally difficult. If you persist, however, you will be greatly rewarded.

To start Tecmo & Team Ninja have really out done themselves with this one as the graphics in this game are simply a wonder to behold.

The game is hard, but not unfairly as it rewards intelligent playing as the better you make use of the combo system the more essence you receive from defeating enemies which helps to unlock more features.

The camera can be a little annoying, but its never much of a problem if you remember to use the right thumbstick especially when coming through new doorways. There are only really two spots when the camera is a bit more of a problem when facing multiple enemies usually more than three it tends to have a difficult time keeping a good focus on the action. It seems to be a bit lessened though if you can keep moving around. The second is when going through narrow passageways, but this can usually be resolved by using the right thumbstick.

The different moves look great and handle extremely well and are fairly simple to learn, but some are bit more difficult to master. The story is good though not to original, but fits the game well. The voice acting is good and fits the respective characters well, but some of the dialogue seems a bit dry probably just something lost in translation. The varied environments are simply stunning and the music fits each level well. The cutscenes are superb and simply the best around. The character designs are amazing as they are the best out there.

In all Ninja Gaiden is one of best games ever as it raises the bar for action/adventure games. If you play videogames and just want to mash buttons this is probably not the game for you, but if you like games that are good challenge which reward intelligent creative gameplay then you should love this. The game is not perfect, but is probably as close as a action/adventure game will come until the next wave of game systems come out.

Ninja Gaiden is simply one of the deepest, most rewarding video games I have ever played. I should explain that it took me a while to realize this depth and appreciate its greatness. I'm also writing this review minus one XBOX controller--smashed into oblivion in a less than Zen-like moment of game play. But in a way, the level of emotion that the game elicited was one of the signs of its greatness. For any other game that had frustrated me in this way, I would have simply quit playing, written a scathing review, then gathered the morning leavings of my dog, put them in a bag, and set them in front of Team Ninja's offices. Ninja Gaiden is good enough to make you want to get past your own frustrations.

In terms of game play, it seems to be an amalgam of a few different classics: Onimusha, Devil May Cry and Prince of Persia all come to mind. Third-person combat, minor platforming, boss fights and CG cut scenes drive the game. Each element is incorporated expertly and handled with style. At its core, however, this game is about combat. The fluidity, depth, and excitement in the combat persist as you play. The elevated difficulty of your enemies is partly responsible for this, as is the mood appropriate music, but I think my own satisfaction was also based on recognizing how I was improving as the game progressed. Although I try to incorporate a firm no-learning policy in my life, Ninja Gaiden managed to surreptitiously make me learn certain rhythmic button combinations. Don't let this scare you. It's not English class. You learn how to separate limbs and heads from bodies--not how to separate phrases and clauses. There are probably fifteen to two dozen moves to learn for each melee weapon. In addition, there are numerous projectile weapons and elemental spells that can be used to lay waste to opponents. Enemy grunts that are easily dispatched in other games are skilled opponents in Ninja Gaiden. And the boss fights you engage in are, to put it mildly, punishing.

Ninja Gaiden is also, hands-down, the best-looking console game I've ever played. The environments are spectacular and the character models look great. Not once did I detect a graphical glitch or imperfection of any kind. The collision detection was spot-on and there was no hint of graphical slowdown in this rapidly paced and highly detailed game. The only real complaint I had was with camera angles; in any other action adventure game, minor camera issues would be a simple nuisance. In Ninja Gaiden, with game speed and difficulty so elevated, less than perfect camera angles detract from the game and cause unneeded frustration. It doesn't happen often, but it happens enough to be noticeable.

The audio was another outstanding element. There was tremendous variation to the music and it seemed to fit the mood perfectly. Sound effects were also well done, with both combat and environment audio adding to the player's immersion level. The voice acting in the cut scenes was definitely over the top, but didn't take away from the game.

It should be pointed out that this game definitely deserves its M rating; it is bloody and chock full of decapitations, and Rachel, the most prominent and very memorable female character, looks like she's a porn queen and outfitted by some S&M fetishist. So it goes without saying that the cut scenes held my interest intently. Just keep young children away--unless you let them watch Brittney Spears. Then it's nothing they haven't seen beofre.

If you are able to stomach the punishing difficulty, this is one of the most polished and rewarding games for any system.

I like to think of myself as a patient man. I read the reviews of this game and I'll admit it,I dismissed the reviewers that complained about this title's difficulty as whiners without the patience and/or tenacity to appreciate a challenge. How wrong I was. This game is an exercise in futility and frustration that would send even a zen monk on a red-faced, seething tyrade of hatred against the cruel developers. Yes, it is beautifully rendered (though I think previous reviewers might have overstated it's beauty; the cutscenes are amazing, but the in-game graphics are simply avarage), the storyline is intriguing and when a stretch of gameplay lasts more than five or so minutes (rare; repeated deaths followed by endless repeating of the same stretch of game is more the norm) one can almost appreciate the game's intent. I've given up somewhere in the 5th level, however, as rival ninjas repeatedly hurl seemingly inescapable bombs at me. I have a headache. This is not what I call amusement; it's torturous and I give up.

Upon reading others reviews it is impossible to rate this game because it is still in development. There isn't even a possible demo yet. I saw the game at Tokyo Game Show 2003 on Sept 27 Sunday a week ago ( I live in Japan). It really erks me when people rate a game that isn't done yet. I have seen about a 4 to 7 minute demo which is what I based this reveiw off of. In this game, which includes the main character running up walls and utilizing a variety of weapons including nun chucks, bow and arrows, and a sword there is smooth transition and interaction. The enemies are well developed characters also which includes a white haired buff guy that sports nun chucks, a dinosaur skeleton and zombie like creatures. I have to tell you that out of all of the games at the game show this game was the most impressive action game there. It was the only fast paced (unlike the stealthy Metal Gear Solid 3) action game that wasn't a devil may cry rip off, unlike cy girls which is a devil may cry slash metal gear rip off that I somehow managed to like anyway. I never take time to write review but when I saw the rating for this game at a three star and it isn't even out yet I was upset because I know a lot of people buy games on Amazon and other online marketplaces, and they use the star review to buy their games, so trust me when I say this, this game is hot. But maybe you should wait for a professional review, but I aint, because this game along with other Tecmo titles convinced me to buy an X Box. nuff said.

"Dead to Rights" is the kind of non-stop action game that will remind you why you play console games in the first place. Though the game's premise, style, and source of inspiration are easy to compare to "Max Payne," the games themselves are readily distinguishable from one another, and both are equally as worthy of your gaming attentions.

"Dead to Rights" casts you as Jack Slate, a larger-than-life cop in the fictional cesspool of Grant City, whose only real friend appears to be his canine partner, Shadow. Early on, Slate discovers the body of his murdered father in a construction yard, and then the action comes hot and heavy from then on.

Slate's gun-slinging antics and martial arts brawls are quick to remind one of a John Woo film. The hand-to-hand fighting system is immensely enjoyable and reminiscent of updated classics like "Double Dragon" and "Final Fight." The majority of the game's setpeices, though, involve thousands of flying bullets, and the gunplay is truly extraordinary. Capping the bad guys is rarely this satisfying, particularly in a game viewed from a 3rd person perspective. To add icing to the cake, Slate has a series of violent "disarms" he can employ to turn a battle in his favor, and executing them properly is gratifying in all its M-rated glory. "Dead to Rights" wisely switches between hand-to-hand battles and fierce gunfights at a fairly regular interval to ensure that the game doesn't get repetitive.

Unfortunately, "Dead to Rights" also favors mini-games and puzzles that crop up every now and again to slow down the action. The idea is a sound one, but most of these sessions are just exercises in button-mashing frenzy. On the plus side, though, the mini-games segue into the storyline almost seamlessly, so they're not as jarring as they might otherwise have been. And speaking of the storyline, it's sure to entertain, and is helped tremendously by talented voice-actors and some truly cinematic cut-scenes.

Aside from the mini-games and some questionable decisions in level design (which are an exception rather than a rule), "Dead to Rights" is a triumph. The game is bloody good fun from beginning to end, and more addictive than a set of Max Payne's painkillers. This remains one of the best action titles available on the PS2, and it should not, under any circumstances, be missed by fans of the genre.

Dead to Rights is about a K-9 cop Jack Slate who patrols Grant City with his trusty dog Shadow. While patrolling a construction site, Slate finds someone (I won't ruin it for you) very close to him murdered. Against orders, Slate sets off in search answers and revenge. The story in Dead to Rights is narrated by Jack himself, and involves some pretty decent twists and turns. All told, by the time the player reaches the end of the game, NAMCO does a good job in tying up all of the loose ends in the plot. Dead to Rights is one of those games that are excellent in simulating what it would be like left on your own surrounded by a ridiculously large amount of or when his weapon is hostered. Jack can holster his weapon at any point in the game. While fighting without a weapon, the player can use Jack to kick, punch, and perform combo's (unlock them all!) on the enemies. He can even creep up behind them, disarm them (take their weapon). and use them as a human shield. The plot itself in DtR is plenty engaging and never boring due to a plethora of different inventive scenarios and mini-games. Mini games range from trying to pick locks to making strippers dance. You will surely never find the gameplay in Dead to Rights boring, dull, or uncreative. Weapons Slate can carry are also widely varied, and while using them 'bad guys,' just like in the movies. In this sense, Dead to Rights will remind many people of Max Payne. Dead to rights is objective-based, and Jack Slate will have to gun down / beat up countless enemies before reaching each next one.

Perhaps the only depriving element in Dead to Rights is its graphics quality. While audio quality is fine, and is of average quality for such a relatively old game, graphics seem slightly below par in some situations. For example, camera angles can be difficult to handle (being unpredictable and sometimes locking in place) when in tight hallways or corridors. While graphics can be a bit disappointing in some situations, they are certainly not lacking throughout the entire game. I aspect I especially appreciate is the way the camera swivels and "locks on" to the enemy Jack is targeting. Gun effects and explosions are also very good during boss fights. The only thing that lacks there is the texture quality. Overall, I say Dead to Rights is still (and will never not be) a very enjoyable and engaging game. While graphical presentation lacks in some areas, it can only be expected due to when it was made. I myself am have not yet beaten this game, and at this point I am still very excited to finish it. I would certainly recommend Dead to Rights to you action game freaks, especially those of you who are movie-lovers or Max Payne fans. Enjoy! -Derek Ricciuto

this game is one of the best that namco has developed in he last year. It's awsome storyline and tense playing makes it a perfct gae for all you action/shooter lovers out there...It has over 20 different weapons to hose from... It is a game that you could never put down...It's slow mo action feature makes it all the better. Just imagein you dodgeing a bullet by millimeters and laughing at he fact the(opponent) shooting you has missed...you'll enjy this game for weeks or months to come.

When I first rented this game, I didn't expect much.

NAMCO products don't exactly make me do a double take.

I only gave it a chance because it's a shooter game.

Boy was I surprised! I was totally addicted. I don't

care for hand-to-hand combat, but, overall, the battle

scheme was user friendly. Too bad you can only slow-mo

while diving, and you're dog meat if you dive in a

direction in which you can't see your enemy. I just

love the disarm sequences. My dog Shadow got plenty of

action if I wasn't being hurried by the enemies. This

game kept me excited the whole way through. You can

actually change the difficulty at any time during the

game, which is cool for those harder to beat situations.

Thanks Namco. This one's a keeper.

I won't write a lengthy review, as many others on here have said enough. However, I would like to inject my own thoughts, as I enjoyed this game immensely. Sure, It may be a Max Payne spinoff, ripoff,or whatever you may label it, but it does have some unique qualities of it's own. I played Max payne one and two, and both games have some striking similarities. Both Max and Jack are cops who have lost loved ones to horrific violence, and are intent on revenge and retribution, no matter what it takes. Heck, the two even resemble each other physically. One thing Max did not have, was Shadow, the faithful k9.

I just finished this game a few days ago, and I'll be honest..for me, this was one of the most challenging games I have played for a while. The bosses in this game are the toughest I have faced so far, and I spent many nights tossing my controller down in frustration. Overall, if you are into the noir, this is for you. Despite my liking this game, it's not without it's flaws

Mini-games..This is a true waste of time, especially the lifting part. I'm surprised i did not damage my controller buttons, lol.

Awkward camera angles on some levels.

This review is to counteract the first one. Whomever wrote the first review was misinformed and did very little research before purchasing. No where on this page does it say that this is a Glow In the Dark Cynder. The picture isn't even of GITD Cynder. GITD Cynder is only available from Walmart Skylanders Giants Starter Packs. She is not available as a single figurine (as of 1/18/13).

Now, I believe this figure is really well done and the symmetry is painstakingly beautiful. Cynder isn't my favorite character, but it is my niece's favorite. She loves the purple and the lightning.

All in all, good character, great figurine, not Glow in the Dark.

This Cynder is the re-released series 2, redesigned & upgraded version of the original Cynder from the Spyro's Adventures game. She is an Undead element character and one of only a few female skylanders in the series. She is a pretty powerful character with very cool powers, everything from shooting lightning from her mouth, flying around, shadow dashing which allows her to quickly run past bad guys, to leaving ghost trails behind her for her enemies to walk through and she can be leveled up to 15 now and you have a choice of more than 1 upgrade path! She is my niece's favorite character not just for her powers she has but loves her purple color and personality with the phrases she comes out with on the game. Since this is a series 2 re-released version of the Skylanders Spyro's Adventures version of her, she now has a WOW POW power and she can be played in the original Sypro's Adventures game and the new Skylanders Giants game. Very very fun character!

This is a great simulation game based during WWII in the pacific as noted by another review, you play the US Navy and the Japan Navy. The graphics of the game is quite good and is an improvement from Air Conflicts: Secret Wars PlayStation 3. If you've played "Legends of War: Patton" this might be a little similar due to the campaign having some similarities; for example, you can manage your pilots, change different weapons on planes and have camouflage on the planes. The length of the campaign seemed a little long, but I think it depends on which decisions you choose. All of the battles take place at historic moments in WWII from Iwo Jima, Pearl Harbor, ocean battles, etc. As for the multiplayer there is hardly anyone online right now, but hopefully since this was just released in US there will be more players and this will be a great game. Overall this is a great game and is a great game for less than $20.

My first thought was, "how can I say no to a $19.99 PS3 title?" Got it and it's well worth the 20 bucks. It's mainly based around the events of Pearl Harbor during WWII and you can play as either the Americans defending or the Japanese attacking. I like that the game is mainly aerial sim but also allow you to use the guns on the carrier ships. Graphics are decent and it was pretty fun to play. $20 well spent if you ask me.

This game is basically the same as the DS's first instalation of Guitar Hero this past June, but it also features song sharing, a way to utilize the first GH:DS to make the DS to DS multiplayer even more expansive (up to 53 songs to rock out together with). It includes 28 songs compared to the first instalation's 25 songs, which for the most part is a solid tracklist. It has its clinkers (as much as I love "We Are The Champions", I must admit that its 45-second piano solo do not fit Guitar Hero), but I love songs such as "Can't Stop" and "Sweet Home Alabama".

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty fun DS game. It may not vary much from the game of June, but if you liked that one, you'll have a blast with this one. Perhaps its not worth its $35 game-only price tag, but jamming out on the DS doesn't get much better than this.

i bought this for one of my daughters. she is 10 years old and she just loves this game. it teaches her about what good music is and she hears so much more in the songs playing this. its great. she has mastered about half the songs and its been about 2 weeks since she's had it. it keeps her occupied for hours!

I bought this game for my grandson who got the DS Lite for Christmas. He loves it and his two sisters love it too, but they have to use his DS to play it because it does not fit on the DSi's they got for Christmas. On Christmas the three of them used it most of the day and totally left all their new games alone. I would say that this one is a winner. I am very glad I ordered it.

Review of Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable

The reason that I ended up buying the VGA cable was due to the fact that the component signal (both 720p and 1080i) is subject to overscan. This means that the screen "zooms in" slighty so that you are sure to see a complete picture with no black or static edges. This is a problem though with the Xbox 360 because it ends up cropping the image. For example, the HUD in GRAW is cutoff on the corners when using the component cables. This really bothered me so I gave the VGA a try and viola!

I can now go into the dashboard settings and specify 1360 x 768 which closely matches my LCD's native resolution of 1368 x 768. Thus, I am able to see the whole screen without any overscan/cropping. The only downside is that the overall image gets "washed out" when using the VGA cable. However, this is not really a big deal because most of the newer games (GRAW, Oblivion) have an in-game setting for brightness which you can turn down to eliminate the washed out look.

I highly recommend that you at least give the VGA cables a try. Depending on your TV, you may or may not like them. No big deal though because you can just return them. However, you may find that you really like them and will be glad that you tried them out! I read all sorts of reviews about this cable providing a "washed out" image compared to component. This has nothing at all to do with the cable but everything to do with the display being used.

If you examine the XBOX 360 output, you'll find that the same RGB pins are used to create component or VGA outputs. VGA adds the HSYNC and VSYNC pins already present in RGB signal for component.

So why do people complain about the "washed out" effect? That's because they haven't calibrated the display properly or their display can't be calibrated properly using the VGA input (my display and probably most displays have different calibration settings and processing hardware for each input). My display only allows me to set contrast, brightness, sharpness and color temperature on the VGA input, however, the hue and saturation are almost spot on from the factory so the VGA cable is the best for me since I can make use of the DVD upconversion and the XBOX 360 seems to do a better job of scaling 720p/1080i to the 1360x768 resolution of my display than the display itself using component.

If Microsoft allowed brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and temperature adjustments from the 360, this cable would truly be the best to get the highest quality output from the 360 for everyone with a VGA capable HD display.

Do yourself a favor and purchase/rent the Avia Guide to Home Theater DVD or Digital Video Essentials DVD and use this to calibrate your display for the best results using any cable.

I, too, am a college student (seems to be a trend, eh?) and don't have a 50-inch X brand HD whatever. I got this cable to hook up to my flat-panel computer monitor which is of course better than my TV. My monitor isn't big, mind you, but the improvement is definitely noticable. I can harness my XBox 360's potential much more than with standard AV cables.

Also, as far as sound is concerned, if you're hooking this up to your computer system: the cable comes with a Y adapter that can be plugged into your standard audio card (the green, blue, and pink colored slots in the back). I have awesome speakers on my comp (not Dolby surround but a 200-watt 2.1 system) and had to look everywhere on the internet to see if this cable would be able to connect to them. I finally found it somewhere. In short, yes you can hook the audio adapter into your computer for sound (your computer has to be on to do so). My comp speakers plug into the green slot then the VGA cable (via the adapter) plugs into the blue one. Bingo, seat-rattling explosions and gunfire.

Even if you're not like some of the Richie Riches that are using this cable for their $2,000 TV and want to hook it up to your computer system, then you absolutely MUST buy this cable. You're really cheating yourself out of the full gaming experience if you stick with standard AV.

I purchased these cables because, along with the new Xbox Live update, you can view games and movies in 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution). Your system will give you the option to turn on 1080p with the new update, but it won't work. These cables are the only cables that will allow you to view 1080p on your 360. And with the HD-DVD drive add on... wow. High Def movies in 1080p will make you quiet and teary-eyed.

Beware of a few things though to make your experience less of a hassle:

1) You have to have access to Xbox Live and a 1080p television or monitor that can display 1920x1080. Otherwise you're only looking at a minimal upgrade in quality most times that doesn't justify the cost over the component cables that came with your 360.

2) Check your TV or monitor's vga audio inputs. This cable comes with a red and white set of audio wires but a lot of monitors and TV's, especially a lot of the new full 1080p TV's, require an optical audio cable. You can get these everywhere and cheap ones are just as good as expensive ones. Best Buy has one specifically for the Xbox 360 for $8. One end hooks into the base connection on the VGA cables. Not only is the audio quality increased 10x, but it's no hassle or mess at all unless you didn't know you needed it.

3) Some TV's don't allow you to adjust as many picture options on their VGA component channels because they assume you're connecting a PC, which usually has it's own visual adjustment controls. I found little problem here after a few changes in the visual settings available to me but video-philes may be disappointed depending on their individual TV's or displays. For me, in particular, I had no color issues or washed out picture problems unless I dropped into lower resolutions... which is pointless to do if you're buying these for the 1080p compatibility.

Do some research and avoid all of these possible headaches and you're in for a treat.

Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad is the successor to Red Orchestra: Ostfront. It keeps to the theme of the titanic and most important battle front of WW2. More men fought, died and experienced the brutality of total war on the Eastern Front than in any other theater of the conflict. While Ostfront spanned the whole German-Soviet war, this game focuses just on the immense struggle for Stalingrad.

The Good: The depictions of the battlefields are very well done. In fact if you look at wartime photos of the battlegrounds, you would see the stunning effort Tripwire developers went to, to ensure accuracy. When you are fighting at Fallen Fighter's Square or Pavlov's House, it looks like you are really there. The weapons are pretty well modeled and deadly. The game doesn't give your character health points. Although you can bandage a minor wound, the majority of hits by a rifle caliber bullet will kill you. The lethality of the battlefield may be a turn off for some but for those more interested in authenticity, this will appeal. There are several different modes of play from the basically free for all to the slower paced count down mode where you get one life per objective. Considering the instant death awaiting around every corner, this particular game mode makes one very cautious.

Each map has a certain load out of soldiers/weapons. This is to keep the teams balanced and offers some historical authenticity to the teams. Not everyone will be getting an automatic weapon or smoke grenades. Commanders can call in artillery. Those toting a light machine gun can be resupplied with ammo by their teammates. The majority of troops will however, be your basic rifleman with a bolt action rifle.

Some more good news is this game is produced by Tripwire. This company has a history of supporting their product, and allowing modders to make new maps and the like. They have already released several patches to correct various problems and I have complete faith that they will continue to do so and have already been working on additional free content such as new vehicles.

The Bad: The game like many these days, was released too early. There are many bugs and performance issues that detract. Although I run the game pretty stable and smooth, many people with high end systems are getting sub-standard performance. Tripwire has been working hard to squash the bugs though one of the new features of the game was saving stats and being able to upgrade your basic weapon. This system is currently horribly bugged. It is not saving stats properly, and is awarding Steam achievements and scores that are quite impossible. I don't personally care much about the stats but for some, this is a big turn off. It IS being worked on though at the time of this review. I do have faith that Tripwire will stand by its product and keep working to make the game run like it should have.

Another bad feature for those that enjoy historical authenticity is the addition of some weapons into the mix that were basically prototypes. And not only were these weapons rare and their use in Stalingrad questionable, they are available in numbers far too many. Although the numbers have been reduced, many feel that they are still too prevalent.

Recon planes....the commander can call in a recon plane. Although this plane can be shot down, it provides far too much information and really, shouldn't exist for the level of combat represented.

The Summary: Buy this game if you like WW2. Buy this game if you like FPS games. But have patience for the eventual bug fixing, additional maps provided by the community, and new vehicles and weapons that will be coming. I fully suspect that in time, this game will span all of the Eastern Front once more with the help of the dedicated modding community.

I like WWII shooters and I like games that aim to be more realistic. I played the original Red Orchestra, didn't buy that one, but decided to give this one a try. The trailers made the game look pretty fun, and it is, but it requires more patience and craftiness than the typical run-of-the-mill shooter.

The game looks good first of all. I play with the graphics on the highest settings and it looks like a war movie. I also tried toning them down to get the frame rates higher in multiplayer. The game still looks decent on the medium graphic settings.

I'm most interested in the controls because that is the part of the game that you must deal with to get your character to do what you want. In a game that requires quick reflexes, the control scheme is very important. I custom mapped some of the keys to make it easier for me the game lets you do this in the "controls" section of settings. There is one key used for three important functions (get behind cover, pick up items, and bandage yourself), which I'm not too thrilled about, but I'll probably get used to it after a while. Also the mechanics of getting behind cover can be awkward in the game. The game prompts you whenever you may take cover, you can't use just anything, but most walls let you. Also your character has trouble jumping over certain things they should be able to jump over and trouble climbing over things that shouldn't pose a problem.

You have to use the sights of the gun to aim properly at distance there is no painted on crosshair in the middle of the screen. When you bring up your iron sights, your character moves much slower, so it's best to lean around corners before charging out. If you run around like its Call of Duty you will be shot and you will die, sometimes slowly while you frantically hit the medic bandage/cover/take items button.

The single player AI is not too bright. Your comrades have mastered the art of taking cover on the wrong side of a wall, running around in the open, and getting shot. In general, they do not behave like a human and I'll leave it at that.

The multiplayer is where the main focus of the game is. I haven't played all the maps yet as I just got the game yesterday, but the ones I played were fun. Lots of places to hide out and pick off enemies. The mixture of tanks and men is really cool. Also I'll just mention that the bullet ballistics are there and are very welcome for the realism. For all the realism though, bullet wounds should have been in the game. There is a little blood when you shoot someone, but you should be able to put a literal hole through their body before and after they die.

Overall, its a fun shooter. Takes some patience, but it's satisfying when you break through the enemy lines and drop a few before going out in a blaze of communist or fascist glory. By the way, I have this on Steam so that takes care of the updates for me.

I hope I am not the only one in that I miss the feel of an authentic WW 2 shooter, or the multiplayer feeling of the first time I played the original Call of Duty. Where you have to work as a team to overcome impossible odds and still win the battle. Where you are in a building and your buddy just took a bullet through the head and falls to a pile at your feet. You hear the enemy downstairs and you are alone or might have one other battle buddy with you and your heart starts to race because you know what is about to come. Or pushing back the bad guys and when you look left to right you see your team giving each other cover fire and putting the baddies to sleep. Red Orchestra 2 brings all that back to life.

Red Orchestra 2 for me is a breath of fresh air. The way your character moves and you are running to cover. The way it feels when you pull up your iron sites on the enemy, hold your breath, fire, and watch him fall head first into the dirt for a forever sleep. This game just feels so good with the way you move and fire. The new cover system adds more immersion and works well.

Graphics are to my eyes look great, the way the sun creeps through the cracks of a half demolished building, the way shadows over cast the battlefield, the spray of red mist after a successful shot, how the characters move and take cover, everything about it brings it to life and feels like you really are about to die and this world of war. The maps are a lot of fun and I love how they are laid out, very entertaining.

CONS: Now I came from the beta, yeah there are a few bugs and hiccups, but it's still very playable and is minor issues that will be ironed out with soon too come patches. Don't let all the negativity about it steer you away from this amazing title, we are talking about a lower end budget gaming company that put this together and they did a amazing job with it and you will be having a blast and will easily look past them.

All in all, this game is amazing, I love the feel of this great WWII shooter and will for sure be playing this for a long, long time. Do yourself a favor, give yourself some fresh air and pick this title up, you wont regret it.

When this game was first released there were quite a number of problems with it. The game wasn't well optimized and ran pretty bad on my system that was well above the recommended settings. In May a giant patch was released that pretty much fixed everything and now the game really shines. I would rate this game as currently my favorite fps game in the market along with dayz. Initially, I bought this game in September to pass the time while waiting for BF3's release; however, this game feels superior to BF3 to me. I guess I came into BF3 with the idea that it would have the depth of BF2/2142 with battlefield commanders and so forth, but quickly realized how consolized that game was to appeal to the cod crowd. RO2 feels like a true PC game that has such great depth with battlefield commanders and limiting the number of snipers that it is a breath of fresh air. My first online game that I got really into was RTCW and this game reminds me some of the aspects of that game.

RO2 is the one game that I have played where I actually feel that war is hell. Playing as a Russian soldier running through an open field under heavy German fire is intense. When I see a few guys running with me die and I manage to get to cover alive, I actually feel lucky and am reminded very much of a quote from one of my favorite movies, The Thin Red Line. "It makes no difference who you are, no matter how much training you got and the tougher guy you might be. When you're at the wrong spot at the wrong time, you gonna get it." This game definitely has a large skill gap which will cause some people to move away from it; however, the large skill gap is what has given this game such a nice niche community that continues to play the game each day for nearly a year. I find this community is definitely mature and won't bother new players as long as they are playing the objective and trying to contribute to their team. If you are looking for a game not about K/D and a lot slower paced with extremely intense moments in between the slow moments then I would definitely recommend it.

Red Orchestra 2 is wonderful.

The "psudo-realism" setting that most Modern-era FPS have taken is vexing. A gaming experience shouldn't require much suspension of disbelief.

Team Fortress 2 is a great game for its cartoon fantasy setting, allowing us to imerse ourselves in the gameplay world.

Call of Duty on the other hand takes a "realistic graphic/settings" approuch, but keeps gameplay highly casual (i.e. health regen, invincible humans, no recoil, unbelievable events, ect.) and fails utterly!

RO2: Heroes of Stalingrad on the third hand upholds a deep commitment to realistic gameplay to match its unique real-world setting, the bloodest and most interesting infantry conflict of all time, the Battle of Stalingrad.

The game was pushed out early which means lots of bugs and critic reviews that are less prasing than it deserves, but Tripwire has proved itself to be a company commited to ongoing development with loads of free content and performance improvements down the line.

Parents: I have absolutely no idea why they gave this game a "T" for teen. The content in this game is light hearted and humerous for any age. Understanding how to play might be a bit tough for energetic little ones, but chances are if they are patient enough to books read by themselves they'll be old enough able to handle this game with no real problem. Be aware though that this game is direct towards those types who like games that usually involve a good deal of time (think monopoly, risk, chess, checkers, ect.)

Everbody I know who has played this game loves it and I...I am not sure why. This game is incrediblely simple and repetitive with a lot of stuff they could have packed into it left out. It has almost zero story. The mini games are few and always the same. Graphically the game is pleasing and the music is happy and positive, but after a while all the environments are pretty much the same. Basically, you could finish the whole game in a few hours if you wanted.

Yet, it's still so fun that you can just keep playing it over and over. It's one of those unique game that you play for about a couple hours a day and it never gets old. Time just flys when your playing this thing and I don't I'll ever really understand why. It only has about four minigames in it, yet me and the rest of my family still find it hard to put down.

It's a pirate game based in the late 17th-century Caribbean Islands where the player starts out as a young teenage boy and can assume one of several roles. You can be a plundering rogue taking treasure from any ship in your path and sacking ports, or dedicate your life to avenging your family.

Pros:

Excellent open ended adventure. You can either exclusively complete quests that guide to the rogue who kidnapped your family, sail around and pillage and plunder as you want, be a privateer for a specific country and target only the enemies of that country, or a combination of these, with a bit of trade strategy thrown in for flavor.

Mixture of mini-games, story lines, and game play elements maintains interest level. Various quests abound to move the story along, or you can take your chances and just capture ships at your leisure.

Several styles of gameplay are included, such as: turn-based strategy, stealth, real-time ship-to-ship combat, duels with swords, even a rhythm based dance game

Addictive gameplay keeps one playing just a little while longer, which in turn becomes hours

Whimsical approach to subject keeps the game from taking itself too seriously. What violence is here is cartoon-like, at it's absolute worst.

Minimal resource management makes the game approachable without sacrificing gameplay or strategy. Icons indicate crew morale and food supplies, and hints abound in various pause menus.

Interface and controls adapted well for the Xbox. The world map overlays nicely onto to the screen during gameplay, avoiding the need to constantly switch from map to gameplay.

Cons:

Serious Bugs/Quality Control Issues: At one point in the middle of a quest central to the story, my ship "flew" over to the Pacific Ocean side of Central America, an area you can't get to through "normal" gameplay. I stayed there for about 4 years in game time, letting the crew run out of food and mutiny, hoping that either one would at least toss me back into my last port. Unfortunately, that never happened, forcing me to restart the game. To add to the frustration, the save points didn't record my last few conquests and quest accomplishments up to that point, forcing me to redo them all over again. My fault for not saving more often, but the game shouldn't throw the player into non-navigable areas either.

Odd save points: It lets you save at any point on the open sea, but it neither saves the game nor allows you to save when you pull into a port. Having the ability to save while in port would have been nice as ports make good landmarks.

Some repetitive gameplay: It can get a bit repetitive at times, having to do the same types of actions repeatedly to move the story along or progress on a given quest.

All in all, a solid, entertaining game. The various styles, gameplay modes, and difficulty levels give the game good replay value overall. While repetitive in some places, and buggy in others, it easily entertains more in a few minutes of playing than other games do in an hour.

This game is adictive. Very addictive. It's about as open ended as games come in that it has objectives, but you don't need to follow them...at all. You can go around making a name for yourself on the high seas without completing a single objective and your enjoyment wouldn't be diminished a bit. If the "open ended" games of recent like GTA have you bored with the "drive around, shoot this, run from that" style of open ended gameploy, give this a shot and you'll most likely be loving it. Any improvements? Graphics could be better, and I wouldn't mind hearing actual spoken dialogue, but that's it. Enjoy!

Sid Meier's Pirates! For the Xbox is a updated version of an old pc game. The updated version was originally created once again for the pc but is now ported to the Xbox with some changes from the original. Pirates! is according to Gamerankings.com the 780th best game overall and the 134th best game on the Xbox scoring a overall average of 83% from game ranking sights, but it is still definitely one you should not miss.

There are a large variety of activities to be done in Pirates!. After the game shows the opening movies and you pick the settings for your game you are left with a single ship and the whole world to play in. There are a variety of missions you can go on, but none of them are required. You can seek out pirates to kill for fortune and glory, participate in cannon battles between ships, loot cities, have sword battles, search for buried treasure, or marry the Governor's daughter.

The graphics in the game are quite good and change depending on the situation. If you are in a sword fight or dancing at a ball the graphics are detailed in a mixture of realistic and cartoon style. During the bulk of the game you look at a above head view of your ships as they sail the seas. The only disappointing graphics are when you chose to attack a city; I think they could have done a better job then they did on that part though it may be true to the style of the original game.

There are a few differences between the pc and Xbox versions of the game. All of the differences are good ones in my opinion. The dancing sequences which I found almost impossible on the pc are now much easier. The pace of attacking a city was greatly increased; in the pc version it could take an hour or more to siege a city. There is an optional chain of quests randomly assigned that can be seen as an optional storyline. You do not have to spend hours on land searching for treasure anymore; if you try to land near the treasure you will automatically find it. And finally the sword duels have slightly altered controls for the Xbox controller making them slightly harder.

Sid Meier's Pirates! is a fantastic game. Unlike other games that you can beat and get tired of this one has no real ending; as your pirate gets older he gets worse at everything he does so you have to decide when to retire. This is a fun addictive game that will keep you coming back for years to come. Sid Meier himself said on G4 TV that this was the game he got the most mail over the years to remake. Give it a try and you may be sending out email for a new version in a few years.

So a little time has passed and now not only can you run the X-box version of this game on the 360, but you can download it from X-box Live! Is it still worth playing today? Oh yes! First of all, I like the console version better than the PC version. It just feels more pick-up-and-play on the Xbox, the controls work beautifully (I vastly prefer pressing buttons to hitting number keys on a keyboard), and with the high-resolution rendering on the 360 the game looks wonderful. In fact, I only have one complaint. You can't skip the intro movie on the 360 for some reason.

If you like the PC version you may want to change over to this version for sheer ease-of-use. If you've never played the game before you ought to give it a try just to find out how a series of minigames can make for a full-blown game, and why Sid Meyer's games are as popular as they are. I don't play it every day. When I do play it I stop when I beat it and leave it alone for a while. But when I do start playing, I get hooked deep until I beat the game again and hopefully best my high score once again (the real replay value comes from trying to end the game with a super-high score). Give it a try and hopefully the game will do the same for you. Have fun!

I bought this for my daughter's birthday and she was thrilled to get it. Upon hooking up the microphone though, there was a noticeable delay my daughters amplified voice making it impossible to sync with the songs! After consulting Disney support I was asked to unplug the Wii system from my home entertainment system and and hook directly into the TV. This solved the delay issue but is definitely a huge step down in sound quality, not to mention having to hook and unhook the system every time she uses this product. Other than that, she loves singing along with the artists songs. One more minor issue, the voice instruction is NOT by Demi Lovato but her blond co-star in her Disney series.

I knew that the original versions of some of these songs had some bad words in them, but I figured that a Disney game that was rated E would have edited those songs. Instead there are a handful of songs on this game that my son is not allowed to play.

I'm really disappointed in Disney for not doing some editing. And I'm disappointed that the ratings board considers this to be a game for everyone (Rated E).

I bought this game for my daughter who sings ALL the time and loves most of these songs, I thought it was a sure HIT~ but it isn't. You can't hear her singing unless she screams, the playback (encore)feature is really awesome, but that's the only way we can hear her voice. We've tried troubleshooting, we synced the mike to our tv's speakers, and tried various fixes but nothing works. So overall, while I loved the concept, and the songs and the features, the basic functioning of the game seems to be lacking in the most basic of ways. I guess we like the game, but it's not a purchase I would repeat or recommend.

As for the microphone, it works fine for me. I just don't understand why it does not come with lyrics when you put in Karoko mode. I see it a big flaw.

Looks like I'll be the first to review this item. This game actually includes two games. One KoF 2002 and KoF 2003. 2002 is good, a little hard here and there but nothing serious. It has a large selection of characters, even ones from the first Art of Fighting. Ryo and Robert. The best one in my opinion is KoF 2003, because it actually has a storyline! :0 KoF hasn't had a storyline since 98' I believe. But it has a bit less in character choices, but offers more dynamic gameplay in return. Terry also has a new look. You can also play as King! The powerfull fighter I haven't seen in a KoF besides this one. King is from Art of Fighting too. Ash is also available to play as. As well as Shingo, Kyo, and Iori. Two possible endings are available (I don't know if they're more.) one rarer than the other. So buy it now! It IS the King of Fighting Games.

I just want to inform anyone else who is wondering. Only 2002 works for the 360. 2003 doesn't work, but for some reason the xbox website says they both work.

I love this game, even though I can only play 2002. The only gripe I have with KOF 2002 is the graphics. And it's probably because of the 360's backwards compatibility, but on the 360 when you play the game, you can clearly see grid lines on pretty much every character. I don't know if that's how it is the original xbox, but that's how it looks on the 360. It's more noticeable on some characters than others. I can look past it, but can you?

And 2002 is uncensored, which means there's blood and Mai's bounce.

Bought it to play on my 360. King of Fighters is one of my favorite series and I have fond memories of the late 90's early 2000's playing them at the arcade before and after we went to movies for hours.

if you love classic 2-d fighting games. this game will definately suffice. not overly original, but top notch none the less. this is precisely what you'd expect from SNK.

Let me start out by saying I had this game on the original Xbox and loved it. SNK makes awesome fighters, especially the KOF series. I sold my Xbox and all the games a few years ago when I went off to college. A few months ago I picked up a 360 Elite and decided to get my fighters' collection going again. Backwards compatibility was one of the selling points, and the Xbox website has this game as listed 360 compatible. Silly me to just confide in that alone. But after all, my Street Fighter Anniversary works perfectly on my 360, so I expected nothing different for this game. Well, the KOF 2002 disc is VERY glitchy. Parts of backgrounds glitch in and out and the arms and legs of characters disappear during gameplay. There are grids that appear over top of the characters. The KOF 2003 disc is completely unreadable. At first, I thought I just had defective software. I drove over to my friend's house who still has his original Xbox and both discs played perfectly. After searching the web, I came across other people who've had the same problem. There is even a Wiki page dedicated to how well each original Xbox game plays on the 360. I wish I had done my research first rather than blindly believe what the Xbox website showed.

Some people may find it unfair for me to rate the game so low when it is an awesome game but just not compatible with the 360. This is how I see it; I am reviewing the overall product in its entirety; KOF 2002/2003 on Xbox is advertised as being compatible/ playable on the 360 by Microsoft themselves. I bought the game on this pretense. It proved to be false, and since I no longer have an original Xbox, this game is no good to me. I still rated it 5 stars for fun since it is in and of itself an awesome game, and if Microsoft were true to their word and it was compatible, I would've given it 5 stars overall.

For anyone who does have an original Xbox and is a fighting game fan, I'm sure you already have this game and know how sweet it is. And if you decide to get a 360, hold on to your original Xbox 'cause 360 'backwards compatibility' is a joke.

Very nice stick. I won mine at a tourney raffle, lucky. but for 349.99 i couldn't justify. the vlx is preeeeetty much a chain saw cutting off the official sf4 cabinets joystick. but if you have the money i guess buy this. since it's limited edition and sfxt is so hype right now its going for double its value. as time goes on expect 500 $ asking prices. at the end of the day the sfxt stick is a round 2 TE with better graphics/artwork and a sloped edge to help not hurt your wrist as much. a round 2 TE goes for 140$ on here. if art work sloped edge and exclusivety are worth an additional 150-200$ it up to you. sanwa comes in all TE sticks.
