Searched all over Amazon for a decent price for a 320G hard drive to go into our XBOX 360, and ended up buying this. We bought our son the 4GB system, and didn't really expect it to be filled up so quick. Ordering this was a life-saver, no more figuring out what he needed to keep and delete. Now he can save what he needs and still have room.

It was easy to use/install. It just slides in the back of the XBOX and will appear with your storage devices named as "Hard Drive". You're set after that. We've had zero problems with it; saves everything fine.

I know a lot of people are iffy about ordering these things online due to replicas and possible problems it can cause, but you have no worries with this one. Definitely worth buying if you're looking to add some extra space onto your system.

It really works. We had problems with previous purchases, but this was easy to install and worked right away. Buy it!

Honest reviews on 320G HDD Hard Disk Drive For Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim

When I got my new Xbox 360 Slim, I wasn't aware it wouldn't take my old 20 GB HDD from my last 360 console. Even more disappointing was that I couldn't install games to the petty 4 GB flash memory that was included in the new console. As a result, I waited a few months, then got the highest capacity HDD available for slim (this one). At first, everything was fine. I started installing games left and right to the new HDD and there were no issues. Suddenly, I had a game lockup.

No worries, I thought. This happens with the 360 (or at least it did somewhat habitually with the last console). Well, then I got an E68 error code. I unplugged everything and it worked fine. As I started plugging stuff back in, I noticed it would take a few minutes to boot the console if I had the HDD attached, but at least it was still working. Recently, however, the console will throw an E68 error code absolutely every single time I go to boot the console if and ONLY if I have the HDD attached.

The worst part is this didn't occur until almost 2 weeks after the Amazon warranty ran out, so now I can't even return it. This device is highly deceptive and I will be looking for a replacement. DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE UNLESS YOU WANT RIPPED OFF.

I purchased the HDD for my son's Xbox 360. I was somewhat concerned since some of the reviews said they had encountered various problems but this one has worked flawlessly. My son has given it a real workout and he has had no issues at all.

I just purchased this sound processor to go with my COD Foxtrot headset (px21). I was waiting for the DSS to go on sale and this was just released and the DSS mysteriously dissapeared. One question I have that concerns me about this device is the original DSS advertises Dolby 5.1/7.1 surround sound and the NEW DSS2 which is $10 less brand new with the added option of adjusting speaker angles with 6 presets, is why did the Dolby 7.1/5.1 disappear? The old one says it all over, this one just says Dolby. I am wondering if it is a lesser quality of surround sound or why would it not mention anywhere on the new one it has 5.1/7.1 surround? I did some research and could not find an answer, but never having the first one I am sure I will be happy with this. Just a few things I was wondering before purchasing and seeing as the old one is nowhere to be found at a reasonable price, made me think something is fishy. I will update once I get some use after it is shipped to me. I hope this helps a little and feel free to comment if you know something I dont. Thanks

**** UPDATE ****

I spoke with several Turtle Beach employees after being transferred to someone who could answer my questions, he assured me this was an improved model over the first and TB decided to go with a different price point and for licensing reasons they may have excluded putting the DOLBY 5.1/7.1 on the DSS2(even though he did not sound like he knew 100%). From what I gathered it sounds like they dont know. I will update actual product usage after I test it out some. Feel free to comment again and thanks for the info. By the way, Amazon is overcharging $10 more for this at $89.99, go to Turtle Beach direct for $79.99

*********BREAKTHROUGH UPDATE!!!!**********

Well, well, well, I figured out the mystery of the DSS vs. DSS 2. The new Dss2 is not dolby 7.1 or 5.1 it is closer to 4.1. Thats right, after massive research and some calls to Turtle Beach(which got me knowwhere); I have discovered why the old one dissappeared and the new one is lacking the labels of 7.1/5.1 Dolby. Ready for it, drum roll please..... The new DSS2 has adjustable speaker angles as an added option because you only get 4 sound outputs, thats right ONLY 4: front right, rear right, front left, and rear left. If you look at the amazon video from a Turtle Beach representative showcasing the original DSS, it has a diagram of the sound outputs, seven in total which some are front right and left, rear right and left as well as a center and behind. I knew something was fishy and if you look at Turtle Beachs website at the new and IMPROVED?, DSS2 it has specifications and its own sound diagram, displaying only 4 sounds, FR, FL, RR, and RL. The big upgrade is the speaker angles which are preset and you will need to adjust just to get sound in front and back. You can see for yourself at TB website and under Amazon as well for the DSS 1. I feel like I solved this case and I hope i saved someone else the headache. Please comment if you have more to add and like before I will update with actual usage.for DSS

******DSS2 USAGE UPDATE******

The DSS2 is packaged nicely, with a TB sticker, manual, and all the necessary wires. For my PS3, I simply plugged in the digital optical cord supplied from the unit to my console and a usb cord as well which is supplied with the DSS2. Plug in your headphone jack and usb cord into the dss2 and you are pretty much ready to go! There is a setting you have to change in your XMB menu, but it is explained in the manual. First thought was, wow more wires, but that was expected. The 6 speaker angle presets are pretty good. The equalizer presets go from horrible sounding to great, depending on your sound preference. The burning question for most I would think is, is it worth it? Well that is up to you, I wanted the best sound possible for a wired headset and for the most part it is an upgrade from stereo headsets, nothing major, it wont help your kill to death ratio go from 1 to 2, but it is a must have for audiophiles and people that want the best sound they can get from their headsets. If you go through TB they have it coming soon packaged with the p11 headset for $119. The manual does mention 5.1 Dolby and for less money than the original DSS, this is a good buy. If you own the original, I would keep it. Thanks for all the comments and I will include future updates after I have had this a month or two.

*****New Headset with DSS2*****

Well, I decided to return my Foxtrot headset, which paired with the DSS2 was great! I jumped on the TB MW3 BRAVO wireless headset when I saw the price dropped to $93. Gamestop sells this headset for $180 and it is just a stereo headset. I love the fact 1) Its wireless(DSS2 plus a wired headset = lots of wires) 2) Unlike most wireless headsets the Bravo has a rechargeable battery with USB(No Batteries!), however this is not a review of headsets but I just wanted to add the DSS2 takes my Bravo Headset to another level! I now have wireless, Dolby surround, and all for around $160 ($93 for BRAVO headset and $73 with shipping for DSS2). If you want to spend $200 plus you can skip the DSS2 and go for a wireless Dolby headset, but for under that I am extremely satisfied with my set now, and I love the speaker angles the more I use them. Please add comments about your DSS2 experiences, I would love to hear other opinions!

Alright, I'm new to surround sound through headsets. I have surround sound speakers in a family room (a 5.1 setup with a really nice center speaker and good-sized satellite surround speakers) and it sounds fantastic. But sometimes, you don't want your family or neighbors to hear the noise from gaming. I couldn't justify buying $100+ surround sound headsets as I do have to watch my spending (buy way too many games and other stuff). So I started off with the Turtle Beach X12 headset (fantastic, by the way) which was an excellent deal at the time. However, the X12 headset is only stereo. Which is fine and has excellent sound but it's not surround sound. I could only tell left and right and in a crowded gaming situation, you lose track of where objects are in space.

Another reason why I wanted to upgrade to surround sound is I like to record my gameplay with my Hauppauge HD-PVR. If I set the HD-PVR to record 5.1 optical, I couldn't hear audio through my stereo headset which is RCA stereo. So I was forced to play with the full surround sound speakers of my room which is not convenient when you need to be quiet. So I ended up recording my videos in stereo so I could play with the X12 headset. But with the DSS2, I can do my recordings in 5.1 as well as use my X12 in 5.1 with the DSS2.

At the time, the DSS1 was still around but was a bit pricey. I missed out on some sales for it unfortunately. So I waited for it to come down in price again, but before I could get another sale, the DSS1 was quietly removed from the marketplace and replaced with the DSS2. I heard the DSS1 was superior to the DSS2, but it was a moot point as the DSS1 became harder to find and more expensive while the DSS2 dropped in price. So when the DSS2 was on sale for $49.99, I jumped on it.

Now, I'm not going to comment on the DSS1. Whether it's really better or not is not for me to say as I never got to try them out. These comments are purely for the DSS2, and how I use them with my X12. And so far, I am loving the DSS2 with my TB X12 headset. Setup is pretty simple. The hardest part was setting the the cabling to be tidy so that my Xbox 360 could switch back and forth between the headset and the receiver with true surround speakers in the room without having to unplug cables as constant unplugging and replugging is not good for longevity of the cables.

Now, the X12 has a little box that contains the volume, bass boost, and mic controls. It's advised to turn off the bass boost and use the bass boost on the DSS2 as both devices boosting simultaneously can distort the audio. The next thing was figuring out the right volume level for both the X12 volume knob and the DSS2 volume knob. Do you set the X12 knob to the middle and then dial mostly with the DSS2?

On the DSS2, there is a button to turn the Dolby Digital Surround Sound off and on. When it is turned off, the audio is digital stereo. When it is on, it creates a virtual 5.1 setup. I read comments that state 4.1. I don't know about that. All I know is in multiple places in the manual (both in text and pictures), it shows 5.1. And really, all I care about is having a deep, full sound environment and being able to figure out the positions of the bad guys.

There are buttons for surround sound angles and equalizer presets. Unfortunately, there are no dedicated LEDs to indicate which preset or surround sound angle is currently selected. However, the LEDs that are present will blink in sequence and this tells you what preset is selected (you have to look in the instruction manual). So you're going to have to be very attentive if you need to keep track of what presets for which game or presets between different users of the system.

The game I first used to test out the surround sound was Halo Reach as I got recommendations on its excellent sound separation. At first, I couldn't tell much difference, but the more I played, the more I notice how good the sound separation was from before. We were driving in a warthog and as an animal ran behind the warthog, I could tell it was behind. When some NPC was doing a conversation, I rotated my character around and I could tell the NPC was in front or behind me. I even did a blind test and rotated around and checked if I was really telling if it was in front or behind and I was correct.

In a crazy firefight, sounds are coming from all directions so I couldn't always pinpoint where but the sound was fuller than before I had the DSS2. When the combat was more intimate, I could definitely tell where the enemy was.

The next game I played was Left 4 Dead 2 and the DSS/X12 combination was awesome! I could tell where the boomers, spitters, etc. were coming from! You can't hide from me anymore! Stereo helps out a little in identifying where baddies are but nowhere near as well as the surround sound setup!

Some other games I recommend to test surround sound include the Dead Space series, the Bioshock series, Battlefield Bad Company 2, and Modern Warfare 2.

Now, the DSS2 is not perfect. There were a few times I heard some audio crackles/noise. I solved this by moving the USB cord to a different port which led to really clean audio.

Also note that the included optical cable must be the thinnest cable ever made. I swapped it for one of my regular optical cables as someone told me it makes a difference.

For the $50 that I got the DSS2 for, it's amazing and will stay on my 360. It comes completely ready to use as it includes a USB cable and an optical cable. You just plug in your headset and go. This is one of the best budget methods to get a surround sound headset. Around Black Friday, I got the X12's for about $35 and with this $50, I got a darn good setup going. $85 over the course of 8 months versus $100+ upfront is a good deal for a person on a budget. There was some trepidation over the DSS2 due to the negative comments I read, but having tried it myself, I can allay those fears. Sure, the DSS1 may be better (I'll never know) but I'm really enjoying the DSS2 and its sound effects.

And don't forget, the DSS2 is for any stereo headphones/headset so your experience and results may differ depending on the model you have since headphones have different designs. Also, your ears shape and structure differ as well so one person's comments won't necessarily apply to you. You just have to try it for yourself to determine whether it works for you. And luckily for me, it works great! The DSS2 is a fairly good 5 stars with the only complaint being that there are no dedicated LEDs to indicate the chosen preset. If it had dedicated LEDs for presets, it would be a strong 5 stars. This has been one of my best gaming purchases in a long time.

There are some more features of the DSS2 which I haven't really had a chance to try out so I'll update the review appropriately after playing with them. One question I'll briefly cover (but will test out more) is how regular music sounds with the surround settings enabled and so far, the music sounds great.

I bought the DSS2 in a bundle with the XL1, but I'm using the X12 headphones instead.

I've been using the device for over 2 months and I hardly play without them anymore. I had 2 Tritton products before, but I had to send them back because one was not working properly and the other broke after 2 months.

ABOUT THE DEVICE:

The DSS2 is a device which is meant to enhance audio sound by simulating surround sound (multiple speakers) in stereo headphones (2 speakers). There is a video called "Turtle Beach Surround Sound Demo" on Youtube and on the Turtle Beach website that explains how simulated surround sound works.

In case of the DSS2 it really works. One can really approximately tell from which direction sound is being emitted.

Now the DX12 headphones already are very good so the DSS2 is not a dramatic improvement, but still the difference is noticeable.

SETUP:

Setting up the system is quite easy. Most of the things which are needed to set it up are in the box.

The audio is being transmitted from the console to the DSS2 via an optical audio cable (older Xbox 360 models require an adapter for that). There are nice, detailed instructions in the manual to help with the setup.

I had to buy an overpriced Amigo II USB adapter so I can use the microphone of my X12 headset while playing on the PS3.

DSS2 VS. TRUE 5.1 HEADPHONES:

Comparing the DSS2 in combination with a good Turtle Beach headset to the Tritton AX Pro (a true 5.1 headset, it has 4 speakers on each side), the AX Pro has an advantage in finding the direction of a sound, but it has smaller speakers built into the headset offering a weak sound quality.

DSS2 VS. DSS:

The DSS2 has a few nice additional features compared to the older DSS device. You can choose the virtual angle of the surround sound speakers, select an equalizer which improve or worsen the sound quality depending on your headphones. It also has an AUX IN (auxiliary input) which I assume it lets you connect your music player and mixes it with the game's sound to be able to listen to your own songs while playing. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test that feature.

There is also a difference in the audio/surround quality between the DSS and the DSS2. The DSS is being marketed as a 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound Processor featuring Dolby Pro Logic IIx. The DSS2 is only a 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound processor. I took the time to ask the Turtle Beach online support what the mystery is behind this. It turns out that the Dolby Surround decoder chip in the DSS was not made by Turtle Beach, having them pay higher licensing fees. The DSS2 has a Dolby Surround decoder chip made by Turtle Beach.

From my tests I cam to the conclusion that the DSS doesn't sound as clear as the DSS2 and the telling the direction of the sound isn't quite as clear. There is also a slight echo with the DSS that sounds like you are in an empty room. It makes music sound better but during gaming I prefer the DSS2.

CONCLUSION:

In my opinion the initial price was way to high for what the device has to offer. The audio surround improvement can be noticed but it is not a dramatic difference. For players who want to hear surround sound without bothering others this is a great alternative.

Here's a list of games and videos which I have used to test the audio:

WipeOut HD (PS3) Audio Test

Halo DVD (Xbox 360) Surround Sound Test

Crysis 2 (Xbox 360)

Tomb Raider Underworld Teaser (orchestral music)

Ghost Recon Future Soldier Teaser (strong bass)

Honest reviews on Turtle Beach Ear Force DSS2 Dolby Surround Sound Processor - Xbox

I purchased the Turtle Beach DSS2 to give my Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Turtle Beach (Kilo Wired) headset full digital surround without spending an arm and leg. The package was delivered in less than twenty-four hours for less than ten dollars, was brand new (unopened), and required minimal installation. The set-up was easy, as the DSS2 connected to my Xbox 360 (slim) via USB and Digital Audio, and had my headset connect to the other side of the unit, no adapters required. The headset's USB connection plugs directly into one end of the DSS2, therefore powering the device, and still only requiring one USB slot on your game system (unless you are using a wireless headset, then requiring each to be powered separately). As far as sound quality goes, even my non-techie fiance noticed quite the difference. Playing Black Ops II became an entirely new experience, as I was immersed into the game as I have never been before; enemy footsteps could be heard from all around, the direction in which shots were being fired from could be easily identified, and game audio was truly distinguishable from players chatting using microphones. The angles of sound (Dolby Digital), though not fully 7.1 surround, can be adjusted to your own personal preference by selecting one of six predetermined presets on the device, as well as being able to decide among several bass, middle, and treble boosts. I highly recommend this product to any gamer or audio enthusiast looking for phenomenal sound from your already purchased stereo headset at a reasonable price point. 4.5*/5*

I purchased the DSS2 to go along with my Turtle Beach, Call of Duty Foxtrot stereo headset. I play alot of Call of Duty and I noticed that with my Foxtrot headset I could not distinguish what direction I was hearing footsteps and shots from. So I purchased the DSS2 hoping to correct this issue and it has definetly done the job. I am now able to determine in what direction footsteps, shots, etc.. are coming from. I must say, however, that I havn't noticed a huge improvement in overall sound quality but the sound quality was already very good with the Foxtrots. So, if you play COD or any other shooters that knowing the direction of a sound is important then the DSS2 is very nice to have. If you don't play alot of shooter games then you may want to save your money and just get a nice stereo headset like the Foxtrots or soon to be available Kilos. If you don't already have a headset yet and you also want surround sound, it is cheaper to just buy a surround sound headset from the start. Something like the Turtle Beach DPX21.

Now to the DSS2 setup. The DSS2 was very easy to set up. Just plug in the provided optical cable and USB cable. (The optical cable is very thin but it still works fine). Then plug in the headset to the DSS2. Very simple. It is recommended that you control your volume with the DSS2 and not the headset but I do not do it that way. The optical cable and usb cord are too short to reach where I sit so I leave the DSS2 sitting on top of the XBOX. I have the DSS2 set at max volume and I control my game and chat volumes with the headset. I have the DSS2 set on EQ preset 3 (aggressive bass boost) and I turn down the bass boost on the headset. And lastly, I use Surround Sound Angle 3. Honestly, any of the surround sound angles would work but #3 is the one that I decided to use.

In conclusion, I am happy that I purchased the DSS2 even though I think that it is a little overpriced (Which is why it gets 4 stars instead 5). It is a nice addition for anyone who already has a stereo headset and plays alot of COD or other shooters.

As an owner of the original Kinect game, and a player of many other workout games since (UFC, Biggest Loser, etc) I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with this new version.

As the original one did, the game gives you a body scan when you originally sign in. That image is then what is used to play games. Oddly enough though, I've yet to find anywhere in the game where I can modify anything it measured. It also didn't ask me for my weight so I have no idea where to input that or update it. It did recognize that I was a previous player and carried over my calorie burn count which I thought was great. After that, a ton of achievements were unlocked, which I also didn't mind :)

Gone are the days of the dreaded menu system from the past. Now, your hands are used in a push and hold motion to activate what you want to do. This is much improved over the old hold the arm out with hand extended to touch a dot for 4 seconds to activate. I always had problems with that one.

The main menu is broken down into 4 sections: My Zone (your settings, goals etc...btw, be sure to go in and change the measurement system to Imperial for those in the US since it is defaulted to metric), Activities, Workouts and Classes. Once I told the game what I wanted to achieve (with several options to choose from) it created a routine for me to follow and there are several to choose from:

Classes include African Rhythms, Boot Camp, Hip Hop, Bollywood, Cardio Boxing, Yoga, Latin Dance and Zen Energy.

Activities include Warm Up, Stack Up, Stomp It, Run the World, Wallbreaker and Jump Rope. Run the World here is amazing...more about that later.

Workouts include Cardio, Arms, Abs, Toning, Back, Sports Prep, Glutes, Health and Legs

I jumped right into the Run the World and have to say this is fantastic! You run in place in various cities around the world and jog by landmarks. To keep the run interesting, you are monitored for speed (how quickly your knees are moving) and given challenges throughout the run including "high knees" and speed challenges. Along the way, you pass makers regarding the landmarks and a color photo pops up with the training giving you a brief history lesson or fact about it. Very cool.

The recognition on sit-ups went very well, with push-ups still a little off for me. I may have been doing something wrong, but it is the by far the best recognition of push-ups for me of any game I've used before. During your training the background will change and spice it up which was also a nice feature.

One final item that didn't change that seemed to bother a lot of previous players was that there is really no defined way to exit the game or button to push. You still have to get to the pause menu or use your controller to go to the dashboard. If someone can figure out where to input/update the current weight and pass that along, I would greatly appreciate it.

All in all, I have to say that I'm very impressed with the new version as I believe they've really worked on making it a great workout game that is much improved from the first one.

**Later in the day edit**

I think they have hit a home run with this game. The jump rope section is like crack! It's guitar hero, except with your feet. An absolute blast and fun for the whole family! (without getting them addicted to crack, of course) :)

I also did the Boot Camp initial workout and was pretty dang tired after doing it, and I'm really no slouch. The only issue with that was the trainer just started going into movements so you miss a few the first time. But seriously, the background changes through a military theme throughout.

LOVING IT!!

The original Your Shape: Fitness Evolved provided an excellent showcase of what the Kinect was capable of in regards to fitness and exercise. Its motion detection was revolutionary in terms of how well it detected how well you were performing exercises, and the mini-games it included were both tons of fun and moderately good exercise.

I'm happy to say that Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2012 does push the platform forward, in an evolutionary if not a revolutionary way. Still, it is by far the best "pure workout" game that you can get on the Kinect.

When you start out the game, you see a blue screen which adjusts the sensor and detects who you are. You're then brought to a home screen, where you see a stylized cartoon image of yourself. That's right, there's no need to create an avatar, because you ARE the avatar. This little change was a huge improvement over the first version, where you played as a brightly colored silhouette. It makes a world of difference, because now you can see your limbs and your body position much clearer than before and match them against the on-screen trainer. More on that below.

The home screen shows a number of different counters: medals won, badges won, and percent of content you've played through. On the right you can see the total number of calories you've burned playing the game. I do like the fact that there are clear milestones and targets to aim for, which will keep you coming back to the game. (One question a lot of people have is--did Ubisoft fix the annoying bug from the first version where it'd lose track of which sessions you've finished in a given routine. The happy answer is yes--now, no matter what order you do the exercises in the system will keep accurate track of which ones you've completed).

At the main menu, you have a variety of choices which are color-coded into categories. The blue icons represent your tools. You can keep track of your overall progress, set objectives and take a fitness quiz so the system can recommend specific workouts for you, or go online to share your progress with the community. I do like that they made the fitness test optional in this version, so those who want to can just jump into the exercises.

There are three remaining categories: Yellow icons represent "Activities", which are mini-games. Red icons represent "Workouts" which are traditional generic calisthenics and strength building exercises of the kind you might find at a gym. Finally, purple icons represent "Classes", which are essentially themed Workouts.

Under the yellow "Activities", you have the following mini-games:

1) Wallbreaker: This is essentially the same game as "Virtual Smash" in last year's version. In it, you have to punch across your body to hit blue blocks that appear next to your virtual character's body. The more blocks you punch accurately and quickly, the higher your multiplier will go up and the more a grid behind you will fill up--fill it up completely and it'll collapse. As you get to higher levels you'll have to kick blocks as well and avoid red blocks and giant anvils swinging at you. Even though this is basically a rehash of last year's version, it's still immensely fun, and the fact that you're controlling "you" and not just a silhouette of you adds a certain dimension to the game. I'd rate this one a 4 of 5 for workout intensity and a 5 of 5 for fun.

2) Stack 'Em Up: This one is essentially the same game as the game from last year's version called..."Stack 'Em Up". This is the one where you're holding a plank and trying to catch and balance blocks that are falling from the sky. There are some new twists this year--to make your bar longer you have to raise a leg in the air. Also, the blocks come in different sizes, and they can even turn into ice or catch on fire (you need to kick a giant water drop to make it rain). Interestingly, I found the graphics of last year's version much clearer than this year's, especially when it tells you where to drop your blocks. This one gets a 3 of 5 for workout intensity and a 5 of 5 for fun.

3) Run the World: Ah, finally something brand new. This is an activity where you "run in place". But there's a twist. You can choose either New York or London and basically "run through" the city from landmark to landmark. When I first heard about this one, I was excited--I thought it might be a virtual reality experience where you could literally run through actual streets (if this sounds outlandish, remember that the technology is already there with Google Maps and Bing Maps, not to mention driving games that have mapped out those cities' streets). But in reality, the experience was much less impressive than that. You basically just run in place on a blank white screen following a line of stylized "yellow dots" on the road. As you run, you do see buildings to your left and right, but they're just generic grey outlines. As you "approach" a famous landmark you'll see that building's distinctive outline, see a tiny photo of the building, and read some trivia about it. Note also that the distances you run are not literal--I'm quite familiar with downtown New York, and there's no way you can run from 40 Wall Street to the Woolworth Building to City Hall in 5 minutes. Still, I did like how the system was able to detect how fast I was "running" and how at least captured the feeling of running through a city. Overall, this activity definitely made what was otherwise a tedious activity pretty interesting. Workout intensity of this one was a 5 of 5, but for fun I give it a 3 of 5.

4) Jump Rope: This is another new activity, and it's a winner. It's a twist on jump rope. You start out by holding your hand as if you're holding a jump rope, and an energetic beat will start playing. You'll see icons of two feet under you, and need to jump to the beat while matching the pattern of feet (either two close together, two far apart, or just the left or the right). Even on Easy mode I was wiped out after this one, but I found it immensely fun. 5 of 5 for workout intensity, 5 of 5 for fun.

5) Stomp It: This game is very similar to "Light Race" from last year's version, where you stand in the middle of something similar to a "Simon" game and move your feet to correctly hit the colored panels under your feet. This year, they've improved it by matching the colored lights to a beat and give you a visual cue of which panel will light up next, so it's more like a step aerobics exercise (versus last year's version where you were just randomly stomping). You still need a ton of room for this one, and if your Kinect doesn't have a clear view of your feet at all times it's not going to be fun for you at all. This one was a 4 of 5 for intensity, and a 4 of 5 for fun.

"Workouts", represented by the red icons, are basically traditional calisthenics, cardio, and strength building types of activities that a trainer would do with you at a gym. The workouts are categorized by the part of the body or the exercise goal you want to focus on. They include the following (the number of exercise routines under each is in parentheses):

1) Arms (12)

2) Abs (13)

3) Cardio (10)

4) Toning (9)

5) Back (12)

6) Sports Preparation (8)

7) Glutes (12)

8) Health (3)

9) Legs (12)

They've got all the basic exercises covered pretty well. For example, when I selected the first workout under "Arms", the exercises were knee push-ups and slow mountain climbs. A typical exercise under "Abs" will have you doing all kinds of crunches, from basic crunches, to V knees to the chest, to up and down planks.

As in the first version, to the left of the screen you'll observe your virtual trainer doing the exercise, using the proper technique. You'll see an image of yourself to the right of the trainer. I really liked how the cartoon trainer and the cartoony you looked very similar, both in terms of size and visual style. As I said, new to this version is the ability to see your arms and legs clearly, so you can work on matching the trainer's body position and moves precisely. There are also visual cues that'll show you exactly where your head should be and where your feet should be. Finally, there's music so that you can time your reps to the beat perfectly (you'd be surprised at how many workout games just play random music and don't bother to match it to your reps).

A woman's voice will talk your through all the exercises, calling out instructions and encouragement. Regarding the latter, I found that she tended to err a little on the "overly encouraging" side--even when I wasn't doing the exercises right, she'd be shouting out compliments and encouragement. Happily, the motion detection is definitely spot-on--after the workout you'll see precisely what percentage of the workout you nailed, and I found it to be remarkably accurate.

"Classes", represented by the purple icons, are very similar to workouts. You go through a series of set exercises, you have a virtual cartoon trainer who will demonstrate the proper moves, and you'll control the cartoony "you" standing next to him or her as you try to match the moves. The difference is that while "workouts" were like generic exercises you might do at the gym, "classes" all follow a specific theme, such as a certain style of dance, a boxing training session, and even a military bootcamp. Here are the options and the number of routines in each:

1) Africa Rhythms (12)

2) Boot Camp (6)

3) Hip Hop (12)

4) Cardio Boxing (14)

5) Destination: Bollywood (12)

6) Yoga (4)

7) Latin Dance (12)

8) Zen Energy (8)

I tried the boot camp one first. Sure enough, you and your virtual trainer (a gruff drill sergeant) are in the field of a military boot camp complete with a helicopter and occasional explosions happening around you. Even at the easy levels, you're taken through a grueling set of exercises, from running to "Olympian squats" to "stun attacks" to push ups. The trainer stays in character throughout, shouting instructions to you amid various random interjections ("you're tired? I don't care!", "does it hurt? Good!").

I also tried the Bollywood one. Like the rest of the dance-themed classes, it had different levels with names like "Learn it", "Rehearse It", "Speed It Up", and "Show it Off". I tried the beginning level, and it brought me through some very authentic Bollywood dance steps with names like "Bolly Arms", "Aarti Step" and "Blossom Step". The moves were very authentic. I wouldn't say this part of the game is exactly Dance Central, but it's not bad either.

Overall, I'd say this is a worthwhile purchase if you're serious about using your Xbox for fitness and exercise. Those who purchased last year's version (especially if you purchased a lot of the DLC) may find a lot of what's in this year's version redundant. But I'd say there are enough improvements to make it a worthwhile purchase. I loved the improved avatar, enjoyed the new activities they added, and appreciate the fact that they didn't skimp this year on the number of exercises you can do before resorting to purchasing more as downloadable content. From the title, I'm assuming Ubisoft intends to release one of these every year; here's hoping that they continue to innovate the series moving forward and don't get lazy and rest on past laurels.

Played this last night for about an hour. Instead of a real work out I jumped around from activity to activity. I like all of the new classes they've added. I used Cardio Boxing a lot last game,(lost 45 pounds) and can see I'll be using the Hip Hop and Latin dancing often too.

The look and feel of this game is jazzed up a lot. The sterile white work out room is replaced by an environment that differs with what you're doing and at least in the classes, it changes as you progress. For example, cardio boxing is plain room with a flat floor when you start, but as you progress, punching bags drop from the ceiling, the ring pops up around you, etc. They're only decorations -you cannot interact with thembut its visually stimulating. That said, I found the stimulation a little distracting and missed a few moves!

The menu system is different, but not worse or better than what the first game had. I liked the titles of things previously. The titles were more descriptive to me, (Cardio Boxing Silver Part 1 Versus Cardio Boxing Learn it!) but I assume I'll get used to the new naming system.

I don't get how the initiatives feature works. When you start it, it asks you some questions about your fitness goals then highlights some exercises with flags and suggests a frequency and length of workouts. It told me to workout 30 minutes, twice a week for 4 weeks. But then I was lost. Am I supposed to pick and choose flagged items that add up to 30 minutes? I wish it would just launch 30 minutes of activities one after the other, but maybe I am missing a button.

I liked how the time and calorie info was presented in the previous version more. In this version instead of square on, it's shown in a front to back perspective that was hard for my old eyes to read at a glance. Also missed is the easy to find "how-many-calories-did-I-burn-today" number. If its in the game other than online in the Yourshape center, then I can't find it.

But overall, this game is everything its predecessor was and even more. The amount of content is overwhelming at the moment, and I had NO issues with it reading my movements. The differences are something a new player won't care about, and a original YSFE player will get used to.

=== 3 days later ===

I *think* the program works by just following the flags and doing any combination of the exercises to get to the total number of minutes over all by the end of the time period. For example, it said 30 minutes twice a week for 4 weeks --so thats 2 X 30 X 4 = 240 minutes. I did 27 minutes Thursday and 37 minutes today, so it now if you go back into where the program is set up it shows 64 minutes out of the 240 = about 25% (can't remember the exact number it showed me.) I'd prefer it tell me EXACTLY what to do, because for example, I will probably lean heavily on the cardio (easier for me) and ignore the arm strength training (harder for me) because its so flexible and doesn't force me!

But I finally tried the boot camp! WOW is all I can say, the first one yesterday was very, very tough but I made it through. Today's was REALLY challenging and I had to give up on several places (5 or 6 times) and then start up again after 20 seconds of rest. I was sweating like crazy, and def breathing hard, so I know its working me out hard. Can't wait to keep doing it till I can make it through without breaking a sweat!

Honest reviews on Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012 - Xbox 360

This is just what I needed for the start of another Wisconsin winter!

I've played Your Shape 2012 for about 6 hours worth now, so I think have a good enough impression of it. I didn't buy the first Your Shape game, because of the lukewarm reviews it got, because of my disinterest in Wii Fit after a few weeks, and because I do work out fairly regularly at the YMCA. But I had a feeling about this new one, so I bought it.

So far, I think it's a great game with a ton of fun, calorie burning and strength and flexibility building workouts. As a teen I never did sports, but I maintained a healthy weight, probably due solely to teenage metabolism. In my 20s, I struggled with weight. At my highest I weighed just under 300 pounds. I've kept off 110-130 (depending on the month) pounds for over 10 years. Not the greatest, but not bad when you're 6 feet tall. ANY game (DDR!), program, machine, activity, etc. that is somewhat tough, but also fun and motivating is good in my book. Your Shape Fitness 2012 fits in this category.

OVERVIEW

The game has all sorts of warm ups, exercises and classes (supposedly about 90 hours' worth) to keep you sweating and keep you coming back. And there's enough variety that if you find an activity or two that you despise (Stomp It -I suck at it!) there are plenty of other activities to keep you happy (LOVE the punching/combat routines). The female voice that talks to you through the activities is pleasant. I've had some games, like versions of Dance Dance Revolution, where I've turned the voices completely off because they irritated me so much. There are different instructors in different classes and workouts, dressed for the activity they're doing.

The Kinect Sensor is pretty darn accurate in regards to what I'm doing and when. Seeing ME on the screen was a little disconcerting at first. But, when I considered how much it helps to watch a mirror when exercising to see what I'm doing right and wrong, I realized how useful seeing myself on the screen is. Even if I look 10 pounds heavier than I am. It doesn't seem to 'get' me certain times, like when I'm doing certain Yoga poses --registering as 0% accomplished sometimes -but there are few situations where I've had this issue. It's even dead-on with most of the floor exercises. Remember when you're playing, whether you score 0% or 100%, as long as you're moving and working out, you ARE doing good for your body. So don't worry about your accuracy too much!

I love Body Combat classes at the Y, and I find all the punching/kicking Your Shape classes and activities to be very similar. They're slow to start out, but it's really good because it gives true beginners a chance to figure out what they're doing. Once you understand the moves, you can pursue the higher level, longer length classes. Destination Bollywood, something I know I'd never have tried in front of actual people, is also turning out to be really fun. I'm getting to the point where I may actually attempt a class "in the real world" like this someday. The Zen Classes are relaxing and a great way to do final stretches at the end of a workout. Some of the activities and classes might be too complicated for younger kids, but there are enough games like Run The World and Jump Rope, that they'll probably keep wanting to play, too. (Those are also fun for adults!) We have four kids (ages 9-13), and they've all enjoyed Your Shape too, although I figure they think of it as more like a game, so I'm not sure how long it'll keep their interest.

OBJECTIVES

One thing that's a little weird, and non-motivation-like, is you can set up an Objective for your workouts. You can choose an option like "Get Toned" or "Lose The Muffin Top" and, depending on a few other things you choose, you'll be told how much time and how often you should exercise each week. If you do this, activities that fit your chosen Objective will be flagged from then on, until you finish your Objective or change Objectives. This is all good, but I've found ONLY the flagged activities count towards your Objective -so you might work out 50 minutes, but if only 20 minutes were of flagged activities, your Objective will only be 20 minutes closer to being done. What's more, is many of these flagged activities are in the harder range -meaning, you may need to work up to that activity awhile before you can do the hard version of it. Some of the harder activities are locked until you complete easier versions of that routine. This is all fine, and not a deal breaker, but I think some people will get frustrated at how difficult it may be to reach Objectives they set out to accomplish. Also, some may push themselves to do harder versions of an activity than they're ready for, so as to do the Flagged Objective activities.

Well, whatever. I just suggest you don't take the Objectives too seriously. Hopefully this will be fixed in an update, but if not, it's not the end of the world.

ONLINE COMMUNITY

In game, when you complete different activities/workouts, it'll show you how you rank compared to your friends. But that only works if your friends are consistently using it too. There's supposed to be this huge "Online Community" on Ubisoft where you can join events and challenges, and compare your accomplishments to others around the world. So far, that's been pretty much a joke. The only thing I've been able to do is log into Uplay, make an account there, and look at my profile, which consists of my name and birthdate. Facebook just has a Your Shape 2012 page, but there is currently no way to upload your times/etc. into it, although in the actual game there's a video you can watch, which says you can do just that. On my iPhone I've installed the Your Shape app (free). The app lets you see how many minutes you've worked out and how many calories you've burned each day in a little graph. That's it so far. I just wish they'd say they're working on this stuff, and maybe have a way to tell people when it's up and running, instead of saying this amazing Online Community is working and awesome, when it clearly isn't. I'll update this part of my review if that changes.

QUICK TIP PAUSING THE GAME

I couldn't figure the out the first few times I played, so maybe this will help others: If you need to pause it or take a break, just leave the Kinect sensor's range for a moment. The game immediately pauses, and when you come back you can resume the activity you were doing, or go back to the main menu.

Varied difficultly levels 5

I have played the first version and was excited to get my hands on the next version looking for new challenges and improvements. After exercising for the past two weeks, I'm not entirely impressed. What I'm impressed with is the different and types of exercises (a big plus).

However, there are two issues with the game, in my opinion. For one, the new version lacks instruction (none) on movements (the first version provided instruction, but only once and couldn't revisit the help later, if you needed it). I think this a major drawback, especially for individuals not coordinated (causes a lot of frustration). Second, the game claims flexibility in exercise routines. However, all the game does is allow you to choose exercises targeting different parts of the body for your workout.

With that said, I will continue to use the program because it does get my heart going (which is my goal).

If you learn quickly and very coordinated, then this program is for you.

If you are skeptical about buying this package deal, have no worries! My wife and I weren't sure if the pad itself would work as much as the other pads we have had (the plug-and-play brands). But we were wrong. These are the things that we love about the pad:

1. It's size gives a perfect and comfortable dance experience

2. The arrows are big enough so you don't miss them

3. When you dance on the pad, it does what it supposed to do...without any glitches.

4. On the bottom of the pad, it has a slip-resistant materialso when you dance, it doesn't slip!

5. On top of the pad, the arrows and menu buttons have a more rubber slip-resistant material; so when you are dancing hard-core, you're not slipping.

As for the games, both have great graphics. One of the things that we like about them is that they have different modes of play (approximately 4-5 on each game). Another plus is the Workout modeyou can choose what kind of workout you want, the pace, and such.

Besides the games, the songs are awesome! Between the two games, you have approximately over 120 songs...which is a PLUS!

Note: Some of the things that we didn't like were some of the songs...there were some punk-rock/gothic music (which we just muted the sound). Also, there was a picture of a gothic face in the background. Last but least, there is movement in the background...which sometimes makes it hard to stay focused on the arrows (for me, it wasn't a problem...but it was for my wife). So, in other words, each person as a like and dislike.

Overall, if you want a great deal for the dance pad + entertainment, this is what I recommend for such a great package with an awesome price!

We are a family of four and it's hard to find a fun game that is multi-player. This game is fantastic! My ten and twelve year old daughters loved it. It gives you the option of using the balance board or wii remote. Only one person can use the balance board since most of the time you are all four playing at the same time, but that was fine for us. The balance board is a little touchy and hard to use at first, but definitely gets easier with practice. Controlling the game with the wii remote is much easier to learn. The game has lots of customization built in for character clothing and boards. The entire family can play in career mode and all the gameplay you do in career mode counts towards your goals. Definitely one of the best group play games!

I loved Road Trip, but really didn't think this game was going to be THAT much better. It was BECAUSE I loved Road Trip so much that I didn't think this could do more than measure up, which would have been enough to make the game worth playing. This takes the concept to a whole new level though. Instead of riding around for fun and doing random tricks with the occasional competition, this one is all ABOUT competition on a global scale. Travel all over the world again, but this time compete and gain in ranking as you do so. The levels are amazing and the challenges are plenty. The Balance Board makes this so much fun, adding a sense of realism that you couldn't get with the mote alone. An awesome game in a now awesome series.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my husband. After watching the 2010 Winter Olympics he and my 6 year old son become Shaun White fans. So when

I heard this game was good for all ages I thought this would be good game for them to play together. I wasn't disapointed! They played for hours and to my delight my daughter loves it as well. This is a great family game good for all ages young and old,

male or female. We also enjoyed the music that is played in the background. I would definitely recommend this game. I didn't buy the snowboard accessory because I was afraid it would cause a fight as to who would get to play on it. They have just as much if not more fun without it. So, if you're worried about not having the snowboard accessory I would say it's not necessary.

Honest reviews on Shaun White Snowboarding: World Stage

Sean White Snowboarding is a lot of fun and at times frustrating. It took me about a week to work through the various stages and two attempts at the world stage to make #1, which makes it a lot quicker to "finish" than a lot of similar games. It takes a bit of time to get the hang of doing tricks (I used the balance board and single remote option) and I still haven't gotten the half pipe down very well, so there is still room to work. My only complaint is that the instructions are not very clear, particularly the player guide, which is rather cryptic, but if you don't mind learning by experimenting, it is a really good value,

I play this with just the Wiimote and love it. I bought it a couple of weeks after I bought Shaun White: Road Trip but I found this one a little easier to get through than the other so maybe start on this one if you're buying it for little kids. The graphics of the cities and mountains are great and having the crowds there heightens the moment. There wasn't anywhere that I got stuck, because the game rotates the events so you have a few ways to get through and climb your rank.

Only downside I found to this one in comparison to the other was that if you're on a run and do it badly and want to retry, you can't go out and change your character and come back to the same event, because it moves forward in weeks. You can do that in the other game. I can't quite figure out what all the little symbols mean when you're picking a new event either, I don't find it clear if I've completed it or not before I go in and have another try.

Trivial little issues though which don't affect how fun this game is.

Once you reach a milestone (top 75, top 50 etc) you then play as Shaun just for one event, which you have to get through to continue. Once you rank at number one (or maybe five, I can't remember) you unlock the character of Shaun. I got through most of the game using Jasmine and the great Flying Squirrel jump but really liked the control of Shaun once he was unlocked.

Word for the ego: Once you are ranked at #1 you can lose that ranking so remember to continue to be awesome. Music is great in this game, a mix of old and new and adds to the groove of the ride.

Buy this or Shaun White:Road Trip, they are both fantastic games and you don't need to be a snowboarder or even a fan of sport games to enjoy this.

If your getting this item just because of the rechargable batteries, then dont get it. The batteries that came with this don't even fit in it's own charger. It doesn't even fit in the controllers. You could tape it on so that it would stay on the controller or the charger, but I would rather just get another prouduct or other rechargable batteries. The charger it's self is awesome. I give it 5 stars, actually I would give it 10 stars if I could, but you can't do that. I give the rechargeable batteries 1.5 stars. They are still good, but its annoying that they don't lock in place. You need to tape them on to the controller or the charger. I'm still going to keep this item, because the charger charges the batteries really fast. I love it! The only thing that sucks is the batteries.

So in the end, if your getting this mostly for the charger, then get it! But if your getting it mostly for the batteries, then don't get this, get another item!

I hope that I have helped you.

Great design. Well built. Holds the following: Up to 4 pairs of Drumsticks, Microphone, Game Disc, with some spare room left over. Great for travel. I'm a youth pastor, and transport RB2 back and forth to our youth meetings. This is a great way to keep everything in one place while the kids are playing Rock Band. I'd also recommend the guitar cases from MadCatz.

NOTE: This case is not designed to hold a guitar! I'd recommend the Guitar Coffin Case if you're looking to protect your guitar controller. This is just for the sticks, mic, and accessories.

Much better in person! I love the skull & crossbones printed on the outside. This is probably large enough to use as a stick bag for a real drum kit. It is just a bit smaller because of the tapered shape at the bottom.

The zipper pockets are a little small, but the Rock Band and Guitar Hero mics will fit in them. However, the case won't zip closed if I put them both in. This isn't a big deal as I can probably hang it off of the tabs at the top of the kits, but thought I'd mention it.

Looking for a safe way to transport my high quality Rode NT1A Vocal Condenser Microphone I took a small risk and purchased this case from Amazon. (I was extremely lucky because it was on sale for $8 when I ordered it!) It has done a great job keeping my mic safe. I also keep a very long cable for my mic as well as my Icicle XLR to USB Mic Converter/Mic Preamp so this thing has been great! Nice red padding and durable zipper as shown in the image.

absolutely beautiful! the skull design on the outside is excellent. the "coffin case" tag on the outside is actually a cool lil metal plate! the fabric on the inside is even brighter in person which i love!

i had seen a case similar to this one on another web site for like $30! i was so glad when i found this one for $11 :-) I use it exclusively for drum sticks.

A great way to keep our cats away from the microphone cord/drumsticks when we're home. Makes it easy to "take the band on the road" too. The only negative I see is that the inside corners of the picket flaps are both semi-permanently bent due to the design of the case, but it's really, really not a big deal. I know what they were thinking with the strings, but I don't think they're needed/work I'll probably cut them off once I confirm that they're as useless as I think they are. Anyways, fun item!

PS2 USB iON Metal Arcade 3 in 1 Dance Pad with handle bars Review

PS2 USB iON Metal Arcade 3 in 1 Dance Pad with handle bars
Customer Ratings: 3 stars

After being a player of DDR games for years and getting to the point where all my pads are starting to show the experience I thought it was a good idea to upgrade to something a little better than the flimsy plastic ones given to you after the purchase of each game. Ion seemed to have what I was looking for at a price I thought was reasonable. It was, at least for the first few months.

Lots of people play these games for fun, exercise, and other reasons, so you can see how much these pads go through in a short while. I'm happy to say the plastic ones last me about a year and then starts getting holes, this steel one which cost about 20 times more lasted me a third of the time. Thats right after 3 months it started gliching on me.

Now in the few months I had it this pad worked alright, can be played on a PS3 which is important since PS2's are obsolete and hard to find in some places. I loved the steel look, but it tends to get scratched really easily if you wear socks, or new shoes, which meant barefoot and a couple blisters. The back bar was something I new. I really used a bar and won't with this thing. it bends quite a bit and I just use it for show. The arrows are nice though. They don't press down or move but are sensitive to the slightest touch, but i think that may be the downfall.

When playing songs on the highest difficulty sometimes you tend to have to jump or move to fast which results in a good stomp or two on the pad. Now I don't know if the 600lb. weight was taken off this but after my three months the right button's quiting. In some cases it only registers a harder hit where as the others I can trigger with my finger.

With my experience with this I wouldn't recommend this pad for the price. I believe the plastic button arcade versions are way better and cost the same.

What a difference from the foam soft pads! My daughter taught me how to play In The Groove a year ago and once I got good enough I was at the arcade every day after work. Reliability of the machine operation at the arcade left me often disappointed. So, for my birthday, this was my gift to me. I wish I had the money for the Ion Metal Pad with the touch sensors as you really have to be accurate on the arrows for your steps to register. I would not rely upon the bar as it is not dependably stable either. I do love the all metal construction. Even the arrow pads are metal. I also love that it does not slide. But if you love to dance, DDR or ITG, I would certainly recommend the pad.

This is an excellent product and it works great but there were just a couple little things as to why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5. You can't play this with socks on because there are screws on the pad that would constantly rip holes in my socks as I played. You have to play barefoot or with shoes on. Also, the bar in the back isn't that durable. When you play difficult songs, you want to put majority of your weight on the bar so your feet can glide across the pad, but unfortunately the bar support in the back broke after some use.

this game is so fun, you could play it all day and not get tired, even after you memorize the levels you can race against the computer and he is HARD to beat!! you think you're so far ahead and then outta nowhere there he is. it's also cool that you can choose what level you want to start on because there's no save feature so you can save in your mind what level you were on and then just go from there next time you want to play, that is innovative

This game is all kinds of fun packed into a little package. I use to play the hell out of this game when I was a boy while riding the bus to school. I still get a kick out of it, very addictive!

Reviews of Grand Theft Auto Double Pack: Liberty City Stories / Vice City

Grand Theft Auto Double Pack: Liberty City Stories / Vice City Stories - PlayStation 2

Let me start by saying I have yet to play through most of Liberty City Stories and I played only enough of Vice City Stories to see if I would like it. Also, this review will probably be more helpful to someone who has played GTA3 and Vice City. With that said, I am very impressed with both games. This is because they took two old games that I know and love and changed very little about them. All the missions are different, but the important thing for me is that the maps are exactly the same. To stop boring you, here is a list of things that I think makes the games worth playing if you enjoyed GTA3 and Vice City:

1. The maps are nearly the same.

2. The addition of motorcycles in LCS.

3. The ability to swim in VCS.

4. The smooth gameplay. I was fearful the gameplay would be choppy considering it was converted from a PSP game (e.g. Twisted Metal: Head On, when converted, seemed very choppy to me)

5. New missions while keeping certain things about the game (e.g. Vigilante Missions, Hidden Packages, Unique Jumps, etc.)

So to conclude, this game has deep and smooth gameplay, takes old games and makes them new without compromising anything, and is ideal for anyone who, like me, believes that GTA3 is the pinnacle of the the series. For those who haven't played the old ones, I think they are worth a try, but I'm not sure if you are going to feel the same was as the gamer who has played GTA3 and Vice City.

Ever since I played "Grand Theft Auto III", I have been a big fan ever since and have collected the series since that time. For those of you who have a PS2 and want a little spice and bang for your buck, I suggest getting this.

GRAPHICS

========

Oddly enough, the 2 games use the same game engine as it's previous games. (Liberty City Stories uses the GTA III engine and Vice City Stories uses the Vice City engine) You will also notice that the graphics have not made much improvements.

GAME PLAY

=========

Overall, game play is also the same as with the previous games that they followed. The following contains information on what changes have been made since the previous games...

LIBERTY CITY STORIES

====================

The only changes that have been made is that there are now new missions, new "hideout" locations, new characters to meet, new weapons to find and collect, new landmark locations to buy items, secret items to find, and many more. Other than that, the map itself is still about the same as that of GTA III.

VICE CITY STORIES

=================

The changes they have made to this game is that you play a different character than in Vice City, new hideouts, added a "Building Business" options to certain locations so you can now "own" a business and update as you see fit (Opened up later in the game as you progress), some landmarks got a new buildings from Vice City (There's a Fair Grounds area), new missions, new people to meet, and more secrets to open.

OVERALL

=======

One thing that is a bonus is that you get 2 games in one. Buying them separately you would cost double the price. Games also include the complete map of the city you are in, instructions, and even includes a listing of the music you can listen to on the radio. Game play wise, not much has changed as far as controls go. If you like action games with guns, girls, gangs, violence, and speed, you can't go wrong with this. There's plenty of action and missions to complete and you will enjoy these games to the fullest.

I will review this as a gamer, before I review it as a fan of Batman.

Batman: the Brave and the Bold is a side-scrolling beat'em-up like the countless others that proliferated during the NES/SNES era. Like any gamer, I've learned to be cynical with games that are based off of movies or TV series, but happily that is not the case with Batman:tBatB. This is a good game.

The combat system is simple, but fun. Mashing the A button creates a punch combo, but there are also grabs, throws, jumps, dodges, and heavy attacks, as well as the Dark Knight's arsenal of weapons, that keep fighting bad guys fresh. The game is divided into four large episodes, each with a specific partner (with his own trademark gadgets) that tags along. Each Episode is then broken down into parts. At the beginning of each of these stages, you can choose to play as Batman or his partner. The game was clearly designed with cooperative play in mind. While two players can't hurt each other directly, there are plenty of floating bombs on every level that you can bat towards your partner. If you don't have two players, the computer controls your partner, and while it's not smart enough to dodge traps, it'll never slow you down and is smart enough to know how to fight. At the end of each part of an episode, the stats are tallied, and whoever achieved the most is crowned winner and receives bragging rights.

Along the way, you'll pick up coins that will let you unlock or upgrade gadgets. Certain gadgets can unlock a few different areas inside the episodes. And playing as the Dark Knight or his partner give the game some degree of replay value.

The unfortunate part is that the game is short. You should be able to beat the game in 12-15 hours. Also, this game is only compatible with the "Wii Remote + Nunchuck" Combo. I doesn't allow the Gamecube, Classic Controller, or sideways Wii Remote play. Why? Because some moves need you to move the Wii Remote, and some of the gadgets need you to point at the screen. But, like I said, the gameplay is simple, but fun. Finally, the game only supports local multi-player action, not online multi-player.

As a fan of Batman/DC, this is a really great game. They succeeded in replicating the experience of watching the series. The graphics and story look like they've been lifted straight from the cartoon. They even play the theme song at the start of every episode. Plus getting to play as Guy Gardner, Blue Beetle and Hawkman is awesome. Each episode includes short animation done for the video game. And the witty banter that plays through Blue Beetle and Hawkman's episodes are great fun. And the Alan Scott statue in the Gotham City Park, that's awesomesauce.

This is a good video game. This is a great Batman game. Too bad it's kinda short. But the co-op play, I think really saves it. Definitely rent. Maybe even buy. I own it, and I'm not getting rid of it. Expand your Wii Library today. And remember, "Crime doesn't pay."

Unlike some of the other games (like Lego Star Wars and Lego Batman), this game is easier for yourger kids to comprehend how to play. Suitable for a 6 yr old.

This game is clearly made for a child, but i'm 29 & i had a blast playing this game. if you're not a Batman fan you might not like it. but if you are a fan then you will have fun.

The game is broken up to 4 different stories where you go around beating up enemies with a sidekick. your sidekick chages in all 4 stories and you can choose to play as Batman or your sidekick. the game is too easy and short, but the time you will have playing will be great. you fight enemies that you have not seen in decades, like Catman, Clockman, Gentleman ghost and others. you also get a super power move where another hero like plastic man, black flash or others will jump in and kill almost every enemy on screen. the bosses are not hard and you cant die. but i recomend this game to any Batman fan.

Honest reviews on Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Nintendo Wii

If you are reading this and love the series or Batman in general, just stop what you are doing and buy this game now. It's easily worth the 40 bucks. The game is a straight forward beat'em up like in the old days on the SNES and Genesis but the difference here is how they have crafted a world where you feel like you are IN the episodes. From the cut scenes before and after, to the conversations Batman gets into WHILE you are beating up bad guys, to the graphics and art direction. And it's hilarious too. Very easy to get into and just have fun with.

There are a lot of Batman video games. I own a bunch myself. From the NES version based on the Tim Burton movie all the way to the more recent Arkaham Asylum on PS3. Batman: The Brave and the Bold for the Wii is more of a throw back to the old beat em' up games on the Genesis, NES, & SNES.

The first thing I liked were the graphics. It looks exactly like the cartoon and gameplay is set up like an episode of the show. Definitely a great job on graphics. The controls were easy to get a hang of. A tutorial mode walks you through the all the moves and combos. Once you figure out how to fight and use your bat gadgets you'll find that you can play through the game almost effortlessly. In fact, I think the game is a little too easy. Not much of a challenge and I'm an average gamer at best.

Bosses aren't that hard either, and like a lot of beat em' up games it can be repetitive at times. Mashing buttons through the streets of Gotham, killing everything in your path. Other Batman games like this would try to break up the monotony by adding a driving seqence with the Batmobile or flying in the Batplane but not in this game. I think it could have helped to even things out.

It's all about collecting upgrades and different items like a sword, and of course batarangs. You can call in the help of other heroes like The Flash and Aquaman. Just pick which character you want before the level and they come in and clear all the enemies on the screen with there special. Reminds me of X-men on the Sega Genesis and it's cool to watch.

There's some replay value. You can go back and get all the upgrades and different gadgets for Batman and play as the other characters the second time around. But with only 6 levels to play it ends up being a short game. With that said, all the elements of a good Batman game are here and I enjoyed playing it. Recommended highly for the Batman fans.

Very nice stick. I won mine at a tourney raffle, lucky. but for 349.99 i couldn't justify. the vlx is preeeeetty much a chain saw cutting off the official sf4 cabinets joystick. but if you have the money i guess buy this. since it's limited edition and sfxt is so hype right now its going for double its value. as time goes on expect 500 $ asking prices. at the end of the day the sfxt stick is a round 2 TE with better graphics/artwork and a sloped edge to help not hurt your wrist as much. a round 2 TE goes for 140$ on here. if art work sloped edge and exclusivety are worth an additional 150-200$ it up to you. sanwa comes in all TE sticks.
