Best Saint's Row 2 - Playstation 3 (Platinum) Deals

Wow, I can't believe the most useful review in Amazon for this game is plagiarized from Gamespot. I mean, it's not even the complete review, but at least it's one of the few that actually talked about the game. There's one guy who says he had a problem being sent the regular version instead of the Platinum one, another one complaining about a scratched disk and another one saying the game is too violent for his grandson.

Those three dimwits have lowered the score of a fantastic game for personal problems they've had that have absolutely nothing to do with it, so, even though I've acquired this game through the PSN and not on Amazon, I'm here to write a factual review about this game. But first, a little history.

I have never played the first Saint's Row because I only recently acquired a PS3 and I used to game on PCs, where that game has never been released. I purchased this game on the PC on a sale on Steam, but back then my PC wasn't good enough to handle it, and I hear the PC version is buggy anyway. So, anyway, having now a good PC, on a whim I decided to purchase the then-recently released Saint's Row: The Third. I absolutely LOVED that game. It was fun personified. Well, if the game was a person, so I guess it was fun gamified.

So later I had the chance to get the PS3 version of THIS game thanks to Playstation Plus, which I did. I thought: "I loved the third game, so I think the second one must be almost as good". I was wrong. This game is EVEN BETTER. I won't talk about the differences between both games, but let it be known that if you enjoy one, you're bound to enjoy the other, even though your mileage may vary.

You see, the gist of Saint's Row is that it's GTA done right. Yes, yes, GTA is, in its own right, a good game and all, but it's guilty of some terrible problems that people have overlooked because of the great publicity that franchise has had. I mean, it wasn't the first game that allowed all the things it did, but so many people thought it that now games like Saint's Row are called GTA clones. And it's OK that they are, when they deserve it. Saint's Row is not a GTA clone, it just belongs on the same genre, but it's quite different.

If you've played GTA you know the basic gameplay mechanics, and if you haven't, it's an open world game. The city is completely open since the beginning of the game for you to travel anywhere you like. The game is third person, and you can walk, drive every vehicle you can find (either buying or stealing) and attack every person in sight (or even help them if you can and feel like), enemies or not, with your fists, or with melee/fire weapons. You have a story, and missions within it, but you can leave them aside and set yourself to roam the world at your leisure, either in pursuit of side-missions or just to have fun.

The most important part, and this is one of the things that make Saint's Row 2 more enjoyable than GTA III-IV is that it doesn't take itself seriously. This game is made with humor, and that makes it much easier to like the main characters and root for them. Sure, the game is violent and you end up making here things that might make a GTA character wince, but the context of this game makes things funny instead of terrifying, specially if you like dark humor.

Another great thing is the gameplay. One of the main problem I had with GTA was that, for a game that boasted about freedom, they had exactly one way for you to do the missions and you couldn't deviate from the set path. In SR2, you are given an objective and then you're free to achieve it as you please. You are not forced to use a particular vehicle or way unless, of course, it's an important part of your mission. For instance, if you want to pretend to be a policeman, it's quite logical you'll need a police car.

Another thing that SR2 has that GTA doesn't is personalization. You can make your own main character, male or female, and you have a great set of options for customization. And you can change your looks afterwards thanks to the magic of plastic surgery. You can buy different outfits too in stores you find in the city. Either entire costumes or different parts to personalize

The side missions are another great thing. You have from the simple, like playing hitman and killing certain targets to the bizarre, like smearing waste on buildings to lower their property value to the hard, like using a helicopter to rescue people from gunfights and transport them hanging from the landing skids with their hands. Or, if you feel in the mood, take all your clothes off and go streaking (this is censored for the benefit of the people on the ESRB, who are sensitive to the sight of the human body, but absolutely desensitized to the gory dismemberment of people).

The main missions also add some variety to the genre and, again, some very valuable humor. The roughly resumed storyline is that you, the main character, are in charge of The Saints, a gang who wants to reclaim rule over the city. In order to do that, you need to get rid of the other gangs. Doing this gives you access to more stuff or missions. Pretty much everything you do in the game helps you accomplish or unlock something, which makes the game feel more rewarding than others in which you have to repeat the same unfun task over and over in order to unlock one simple thing.

So, bottom line: do yourself a favor and buy this game. And then do the game a favor and put a favorable review of it here on Amazon, so it gets the score it rightfully deserves.

This game is full of glitches and bugs. It freezes up and crashes the PS3 all the time. I stopped playing just because of this. The game play was fun buy the amount of crashes was unreasonable, I did have all the latest game patches applied.

Honest reviews on Saint's Row 2 - Playstation 3 (Platinum)

This game picks up five years after the events of the first game. Your character is in prison, and has just awoken from a coma. At this point, you get to fully customize your character. Male or female, skin color, voice, hair style, etc. After customization is done, you meet another former Saint named Carlos who helps you break out of jail. He informs you that the Third Street Saints are virtually a thing of the past. The former leader disappeared, Johnny Gat is facing death row, and everyone else is dead or left. To make matters worse, a large corporation named Ultor has taken the Saints neighborhood and turned it into a new downtown private sector, with the old church you ran the gang from being used as a monument to the "gang problems of the past."

You start out having to find a new hideout and round up your gang leaders (your lackies). This is where you rescue Johnny Gat (who is easily the best character in the series), meet a woman named Shaundi and a man named Pearce. You assign each person to a different gang to get info from, and then you can start working on the missions to clear out the rest of the gangs.

The gangs you deal with are the Ronin, led by Shogo Akuji. They are kind of like the Yakuza, and are recognizable by their yellow clothes and yellow vehicles.. The Brotherhood is a gang of tattooed thugs led by Maero, who is a very large and intimidating man, The Brotherhood are recognized by their red clothes, red vehicles, and excessive tattoos. And the Sons of Samedi, which is a gang of voodoo weirdos led by a man known simply as The General, The Sons are recognized by green clothes and green vehicles.

Once you clear out the other gangs and take out their leaders, the corporation Ultor decides to move against the Saints, virtually using the Saints to take out the other gangs, leaving the Saints as the last bastion of gang violence in the city. The leader of Ultor is planning on launching a political career by "single-handedly" cleaning up the gang problem in Stillwater. You fight against the Ultor army, and take out the leader. Effectively making the leader of the Third Street Saints the new "boss" of Stillwater.

You also get the option to play many different mini-games. Insurance fraud, pimping, drug dealing, body guard for celebrities, etc. All are optional, and aren't required. But they are a lot of fun, and a quick way to make cash for customization purposes or to buy properties.

The game is a lot of fun, and while called a GTA clone is anything but. In fact, while GTA is taking a more serious approach with their past few games and leaning away from the goofiness they used to be known for, Saints Row 2 ups the laughs. The game is a lot of fun, the missions are awesome, and the characters are memorable. Buy this game. Or at least rent it.

My Grandson was so happy to get this for Xmas. He put in all his skylanders & now he won't misplace any of his pieces. In fact his friends all wanted to get one too.

Honest reviews on POWER A SKYLANDERS CARRY & DISPLAY CASE

There aren't many Skylanders cases that will hold more than 30. My son has 42 and they all fit in this case, which is wonderful as now I don't have them sitting on the floor. Highly recommend for the Skylanders lover!

It's ok at best. The compartments aren't really good for much and it's more a big open pit to throw your skylanders into. The giants don't fit very well either. You're paying for the logo on the front. Period. I'm done with all of these cases and off to make my own. I'm sure there is something at Michaels that is a fraction of the price and will protect the figures much better.

Ummm, this game is ok to play but just.

I mean you go around and shoot things from one level to another skipping between the future and the past. The game play DOES become tedious and you should lose any enagaement with it after the first say 3 to 5 levels. Its not a particulary hard game, basically all get is swarms of AI coming for yah over and over and over AND OVER again with the occasional punch up.

The story begins with a prelude to the T3 film it is based on and then becomes involved with the events within the movie itself.

Graphically the CG scenes are quite good but still quite average and the actual gaming graphics is, at times horrid, but always never above average.

Game play is ok with you just knocking things off and there is an auto aim by pressing yah left trigger which can either help of hinder yah shooting depending on what yah trying to aim at, (auto aim will only lock on to one thing at a time). The flying AI will drive yah a bit insane.

Immersion is pretty bad for the average player but for fans of the films you make get a kick from being the Terminator and shooting other models of terminators, but i think this will be average and eventually dull gameplay for even the most die hard fan.

The extras are a bonus but are certainly not worth the full price of this game (maybe a cheap second hand copy would be a good purchase for fans).

Arnold's voice is a good addition to the game but becomes repeative and even though the Terminator is meant to be quite dry in tone and response, this Terminator tone sounds plained bored and its quite clear that Arnold was given a list of responses and quoted them quickly, picked up his pay cheque and left the sound recording thinking " Hasta La Vista Baby". There is just no enthusaim in this game.

The controls are just ok and its not hard to adjust to with about a 5 to 20 min learning time depending on yah experience and ability. For the most you will be shooting but occasionally you get a punch up and though the creators have justified the combot moving like a tank as these are Terminators not Kung-foo heros, it still just doesn't feel right and looks terrible. I don't expect them to do high, slow mode kicks and punches but i do expect some sort of fluidity with the controls. The fighting in this game is blocky, heavy and tank-like with you feeling your moving a 2 ton mach truck and moving it badly. I mean remeber the fight in the passage way of the shopping mall between Arnold and the T-1000. The one where John Connor realises he is in some serious doggy doo. Well this was heavy handed fighting, but was fluid. The way they oushed each other into the walls and through them. Each move moved into another gracefully but forcefully. Thats what this game should have adapted to . More combos might have helped this situation and tighter controls. Basically more care with the game and more creative ways of combat would have helped.

Overall the game is just poorly average and is one to buy at full price ONLY for those that have the cash to waste or consider themselfs to be die hard fans that simply must have everything Terminator. Personally id rather watch the movies but i may pick this up when its in a bargin bin somewhere so i have the extras.

Rent this game lads Don't buy buy the movies instead !!!!

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is bar none the worst game tied to a movie license that I've ever played. The graphics are drab and lifeless, the controls are clunky, and the missions are boring and tedious. The game's only saving grace is the plethora of unlockables (CG in-game movies, theatrical clips, behind the scenes clips, stills, etc.) available to you as you progress through the game as well as a playable demo of a much better, currently unannounced, terminator game called T3: Redemption. There were times when I found myself playing the demo rather than the actual game itself. In it, you play as Arnold from a third person perspective as you blast away cyborgs and HK's on foot or on vehicle through a nuclear-scorched Los Angeles. This was the game that I should have been playing, not the rushed hack job I got instead. For die-hard fans, save you money till T3: Redemption comes out. Rise of the Machines by itself, is just an expensive demo.

Well, what can one say about this game.

I guess your here wanting to know whether this game is any good or not ?

Answer : By far it is a sub average game with VERY tedious gameplay and poorly exucuted story fragments and cutscenes. The whole game is a bit of a mish mash of CGI footage and actual movie footage which really makes the game feel like it is cut and pasted.

The CGI is pretty good though a bit foggy looking like the beginning of Resident Evil Remake for Nintendo ( meaning there is a slight blur to it all). The movie scenes are good but just seemed un-nesccary and really didn't add anything to the game (if i wanted to see the film id get that).

The controls are relatively easy and don't take much time to pick up. Probabely because you will be doing the same thing over and over again. The AI in the game respawn in certain areas and you will be contiunally shooting those damn flying machines forever thinking " im getting bored of this". The developers just throws AI at you with the occasional mission directive (like find Sarah Connors coffin)and think they have this new sensational game. No they don't !!!!!!

Don't be fooled either by there campaign that they have the REAL man himself and that this makes the game better than any other. Arnold really doesn't have alot to do with this game. Basically all Arnold had to do for this game was go in a sound booth for a minute say 10 words like " excellent" " reloaded" and so forth and here we have the result. A game that really is repeative in every way and has no real distinction over other Terminators games for having the big fella involved.

The environments are mostly from the future setting with black charcol skys and burnt building and out of 22 levels about 18 of these are all like this. Boring, Dull and just too similar for anyone to care.

And this whole first person shooter cross bred with fist fighting ????? Yer, it works and i didn't mind the bouts with the T-X. I even get the lack of fluidity with the controls as these are machines fighting not kung-fu max payne rip offs. But still, it nuthin revoultionary or really adds a great deal for the game play. Though this was my favourite part of the game and trust me thats not saying much.

I played the whole thing through even though i got bored after the first 4 levels. The whole thing is a un-insipring mess that is not the NEXT big thing in gaming nor a decent add on to the Terminator mythos.

Conclusion: A big commerical mess that does not deliver on any of it's promises. RENT DONT BUY even if your a fan !!!!

Honest reviews on Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - Xbox

This game is very good. You get to play as Arnold and play in the future and in the present and fight the t-x along the way.It does justice to T3 and if you enjoyed the movie, any of the movies, or you just like first person shooters than youll like this. Its not as good as Halo, but what is? you wont be dissapointed.

I wanted to change my controller housing for a clear one and didn't have a T8 security driver.

This power brick looks just like the original, I really can't tell the difference(except the new one works). It has a Microsoft label. Somebody else said it was a knockoff, I don't think so. This is a great price for a great product. I would make this deal again without hesitation.

I bought this power supply because the original power supply on my xbox 360 stopped working. After receiving this power supply I connected everything, but the power supply standby light (orange) didn't even turn on. I even switched the power cord with the old power supply, and at least the non-working power supply had the standby light on. It wasn't even a legitimate Microsoft item.

This battery pack is beautifully packaged with a black rubberized coated case. The black rubber coating is slightly textured so it is not a fingerprint magnet and it improves the looks of the case and your grip. It is a powerful battery pack rated at 6000 mAh of capacity and the test results were spectacular! I put together a video of the unit and the test results for your review.

The battery weighs in at 4 3/4 ounces. The battery pack has one USB output port that outputs 5 VDC at 2 Amps. It is a smart USB port whose output current will never exceed the capacity of your smart device's current charging capability. The battery is extremely energy efficient and its performance is 10 percent or more above the standard performance of a normal designed external battery. This is because of the superior quality of the battery cells used and the advanced control circuitry within the battery.

During the testing the temperature of the battery pack never even exceeded ambient room temperature. To start your device charging you connect it with the proper cable and the battery pack charging starts automatically. To check the battery pack charge status you have to shake the battery and the LED ring lights up.

This product is outstanding and I rate it at 5 stars. If you are a business person or a student and have to depend on your tablet or smart phone for long periods of time without the ability to get to an AC power source then this is a good battery to own. This is good for those who travel a lot or camp out. Now you can watch your movies or listen to your music on those long airline flights. While this battery pack can put some charge into your tablets it is more ideal for use in recharging your smart phone. Because of its size it is great to drop into a purse, briefcase or a pocket.

You should note that I did not operate my tablets or phones while I charged it but the WIFI and phone transmitter were left on. When I test a battery I do an extensive set of tests that fully charges the battery and then I use it to charge devices and make sure that it is fully depleted when my tests are done. I time each test and document the results as the test progresses. I then calculate the mAh of capacity that the battery supplied and I then calculate its charging efficiency. This process takes from 3 hours to, in very large batteries, about a day for testing. I don't take any short cuts or guess and every battery has these tests performed on it and documented. This is to assure that the battery is tested and it performs well. If a battery has performed poorly I then run the tests again to verify the results.

Items in the box:

* The Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000 mAh battery

* The battery pack comes with an instruction manual.

* A USB charging cable that is 12 inches long.

* A nice carrying bag for the battery

* You may have to use the charging cable that comes with many of your own devices.

Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000 mAh External Battery Pack Features:

* Powerful 6000 mAh capacity

* The unit is compact and weighs in at 4 3/4 ounces.

* Attractive design with a black rubberized external coating. The black rubberized coating is slightly textured so it is not a fingerprint magnet and easy to grip.

* The specifications and ports are nicely labeled on the case.

* It has 10 LED status lights in a ring located on the front that indicates the battery charge level. You have to shake the battery and the LED ring will light up and indicate the battery charge level. Each LED represents 10% of capacity.

* This is an ideal size and power of battery to carry in a purse, briefcase or backpack for your smart phone!

* There is one USB power output. It is a USB port rated at 5 VDC and 2 Amps and it is a smart USB port the uses only the current required by your device to properly charge it as quickly as possible.

* When you plug in a device then the charging process of your device begins automatically.

* The battery pack uses Lithium battery technology.

* The battery pack can be recharged 500+ times

* Warranty is 18 months

* The battery pack does not come with an AC wall charger. It is specified to be charged with 5 VDC at 1 amp. It will charge in 5 to 6 hours at 1 Amp input. You can charge the battery using a USB 2.0 port of your computer that is rated at 500 mA but the charging time will be 11 to 12 hours.

* The battery is extremely energy efficient and its performance is 10 percent or more above the standard performance of a normal designed external battery. This is because of the superior quality of the battery cells used and the advanced control circuitry within the battery.

Test charging devices to measure the output capacity:

I charged the battery pack fully before I started my test. I started with a Kindle Fire at 25% and the Anker 2nd Gen Astro was fully charged with 10 LEDs.

* 30 min Kindle Fire at 48% and the Anker battery had 6 LEDs

* 60 min Kindle Fire at 70% and the Anker battery had 4 LEDs

* 90 min Kindle Fire at 82% and the Anker battery had 4 LEDs

* 120 min Kindle Fire at 87% and the Anker battery had 4 LEDs

* 150 min Kindle Fire at 100% and the Anker battery had 4 LEDs

I started with an iPhone 5S at 22% and the Anker 2nd Gen Astro at 4 LEDs.

* 30 min iPhone 5S at 54% and the Anker battery had 3 LEDs

* 60 min iPhone 5S at 84% and the Anker battery had 2 LEDs

* 90 min iPhone 5S at 95% and the Anker battery had 2 LEDs

* 120 min iPhone 5S at 100% and the Anker battery had 2 LEDs

A second iPhone 5S at 79% and the Anker 2nd Gen Astro at 2 LEDs.

* 30 min iPhone 5S at 97% and the Anker battery had 1 LED

* 60 min iPhone 5S at 100% and the Anker battery had 1 LED flashing

I started charging an iPad 2 at 10% and the Anker 2nd Gen Astro at 1 LED flashing.

* In two minutes the iPad was at 12 % and the Anker battery was dead

Summary of charging tests:

* Charge an Kindle Fire 75% x 4400 = 3300 mAh

* Charge an iPhone 5S 78% x 1560 = 1216.8 mAh

* Charge a second iPhone 5S 21% x 1560 = 327.6 mAh

* Charge and iPad 2 2% x 6944 = 139 mAh

* Test result = 3300 + 1216.8 +327.6 + 139 =4983.4 mAh/6000 mAh = 83% efficiency

* That is an outstanding efficiency result for this battery.

Here are some common devices and the amount of mAh of capacity they have when they are fully charged. This is just to give you an impression of how much energy it takes to charge your smart device:

* iPhone 4 battery 1,420 mAh battery capacity

* iPhone 4S battery 1,432 mAh battery capacity

* iPhone 5 battery 1440 mAh battery capacity

* iPhone 5S battery 1560 mAh battery capacity

* iPad 2 battery 6,944 mAh battery capacity

* iPad 3 battery 11,560 mAh battery capacity

* Kindle Fire battery 4400 mAh capacity

* Kindle Keyboard battery 1750 mAh capacity

* iPad 4 battery is 11,486 mAh 3.7 VDC at 42.5 Wh

* iPad Mini battery is 4490 mAh at 3.72 VDC 16.7 Wh

As you can see the Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000 will not fully charge a totally dead iPad 2, 3 or 4 because it only contains 6000 mAh of capacity. You have to consider the losses in the charging circuits of both the battery pack and the device you are charging. When using an external battery you have to allow approximately 30 % of the battery capacity will be lost to heat, voltage conversion, powering the batteries electronics and the electronics of your electronics device's charging circuits. In addition you have to consider that your device is not truly off like a cell phone is still connected to the WIFI and phone networks and probably receiving emails, etc.

Real world examples of charging capability with this battery pack:

* iPhone 4 approximately 351% of a full charge out of a fully charged Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000 mAh battery pack

* iPhone 5S approximately 319.5% of a full charge

* iPad 2 approximately 71.8% of a full charge

* iPad 3 or 4 approximately 43% of a full charge

* iPad Mini approximately 111% of a full charge

* Kindle Fire approximately 113% of a full charge

* A normal estimated usable storage is 70% of capacity or .70 * 6000 mAh = 4200 mAh charging capacity available for your electronic devices.

* In my testing I was able to use approximately 4983.4 mAh of capacity or roughly 83% of the 6000 mAh capacity. This is an outstanding result.

I received a sample product for evaluation and I promised to provide a fair and honest review.

Product exterior -

Main Unit overall the finish has a great feel to it. A very smooth soft plastic that might show some smudges from skin oils if you look really hard but easy to clean off. It has a good weight to it considering it fits in the hand very comfortably. The ends are very glossy and while the end with the usb ports (input and smart) is perfectly clean, the other side with the imprint saying 'Made in China, model number' was a tiny bit scratched up but nothing really noticeable. It does say over here that input is 1A and output is 2A. Ironically the serial number is not listed on this side at all or on the unit. ****The serial number is actually on a the short charging cable. ***Important, for warranty purposes do not remove this sticker..... I admit that I don't like this because usually any large stickers on cables I usually cut off, and also because the serial number should be on the unit itself rather than just the microusb cable.

Microusb Cable The microusb is a very good quality 1ft charging cable. Some people might prefer longer but fortunately it has the high-quality shielded ends that Samsung OEM Cables have. There is a plastic covering over the ends protecting the finish that you can peel off.

Carrying Pouch an interesting sports-like carrying pouch that is double layered and has a closing elastic mechanism. The microusb cable does fit inside with unit while pouch is closed.

Description of use Very easy to install. I simply connected the microusb input on unit to an Anker 2A USB charger (1A or higher is great). I found it was like 80% charged and it charged up to 100% fairly quickly. It works very simply and great. There is no need for a long charging cable and finding an outlet, this solution works even better and is very portable. I still have not yet tested it on iPhones or the newest Samsung Galaxy Tablets but it does it work perfectly with Galaxy S4 and other Android phones. The unit does not need to be shaken to start charging, it simply starts when plugged in. While charging it does constantly blink the light on and out every second which can get annoying but does at least update its amount of battery left. The white ring is divided up into 10 leds. With unit disconnected simply shaking it shows you the charge level.

So far it charges roughly 0.6% per minute on a Galaxy S4. According to 'Galaxy Charging Current' it shows 1900mAh and after a little while drops down to 1200mAh (it does this on stock too). I still need to do more tests though for accuracy and will update later.

UPDATE! 2013-10-19 I have now confirmed that it charges at 0.9% per minute on Galaxy S4 at 2A. So it takes between 90 to 120 minutes to fully charge the phone. The last 10% charges more slowly. I did the test from 1% to 93% in about 96 minutes with minimal usage of screen. Also after using a 100% charged Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000mAh, I unfortunately was left with 40% battery on that unit so enough for almost two charges on a Galaxy S4.

Ideal users I recommend these Portable External Batteries to anyone with a smartphone with non-removable batteries. With an iPhone I'd expect to the user to get 4 Full Charges with this unit. With a Galaxy S4 about 2 Full Charges. I recommend getting a higher capacity if you are going on a bigger trip and need more than 10 full charges without recharging the unit.

Overall outstanding item and I'm very impressed

After rolling out new 2nd generation versions of Astro 3 (3 outputs) and Astro 2 (2 outputs), now is a turn for Astro with a single charging output. While Astro 3 was very impressive with three outputs and 12000 mAh capacity, it was a relatively large and heavy device, which is expected. Astro 2 shrunk it down to 2 outputs and 9000 mAh capacity with a more pocket friendly footprint. Here with single output Astro and 6000 mAh capacity the size was reduced down to an awesome compact size which you can store even inside of a very small purse. But don't let the small size fool you you still get all new 2nd gen design with every bell'n'whistle of Astro 2 and 3. So let's take a closer look.

Continuing with their environmentally friendly packaging, battery came inside of a neatly packaged box which contained a battery itself, a manual (always very detailed), and accessory box with usb to micro-usb cable and a mesh draw-string storage bag for a battery and a cable. Now let me tell you about the size of this battery its is SMALL!!! Weighting around 130g and with a size of 90mm by 45mm and thickness of 25mm it will easily fit in a palm of your hand where you can make a fist hiding it inside. That's how compact it is. With a new rounded design and smooth edges, the hard plastic shell is lined with a soft touch rubbery finish. You get one micro-usb battery charging port (1A speed to charge the battery itself) and one full usb smart output port for any Android or Apple device. The output supports a maximum charging speed of up to 2A. In my quick test with OEM usb cable I confirmed a charging speed of 1.5A using my Note 2. The speed will obviously vary depending on the cable you use, so keep that in mind and use usb cables with thicker wires.

Just like with Astro 2 and 3, this 2nd gen device uses a new 10-segment circle LED indicator to show you the charging progress of the battery or the remaining charge on the battery in increments of 10% thus giving you a higher precision reading. Most of the other batteries usually include 4 LEDs to indicate 25% increments, but with Astro you are getting a better precision. There is no power button anywhere around smooth surface of this battery. To start the charging or to check the remaining capacity you just shake it and display LED comes alive. Also, considering actual capacity of any external battery is typically 30% less then advertised value, in case of 2nd gen Astro a more efficient conversion circuit is used which gives close to 80% efficiency, so you can count on about 4700-4800 mAh of charging power. Considering super compact shape of this battery, this is very impressive and perfect as a portable emergency charge you can take with you anywhere.

Overall, the design, the efficiency, the charging speed, and compact size of this battery makes it a very attractive package. It is also very unique and sets it apart from competition. Add to that Anker's 18-month warranty and great support with introductory price of $29.99 on Amazon this is one fantastic value. I highly recommend it!

Honest reviews on Anker® 2nd Gen Astro 6000mAh Portable Charger Rapid-Recharge (2A

The Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000mAh External Battery is everything I was looking for in an external battery pack. It's small, comes with a one foot micro-USB cord, and a travel bag that holds everything neatly. It also has a nice heft and a smooth rubberized finish that makes it a beauty to hold in your hand.

This pack also holds a large charge. I was able to fully charge my Nexus S phone and top off (30%) my Nexus 7 tablet while only using just over a quarter of the battery pack.

The Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000mAh Portable Power Bank is made perfectly for those who want to bring power on the go. This battery pack has 6000mAh of power inside which means you can charge your iPhone 5 about 2 twice and a little more possibly. The battery pack has 1 USB port that is rated at 2 amps/5 volts. The USB port is labeled "Smart. The other port is the micro USB port. This port is used to charge the actual battery pack. You can charge the battery pack at 1 amp/5 volts. You can use the wall charger that came with your smartphone. I have charged my iPhone 5 with this battery pack and it worked fantastically.

Box Contents:

-Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000mAh Portable Power Bank

-Short micro USB cable

-Carry case

-Instruction manual

The battery has a matte feel all around and is glossy on the sides where the USB port is. The battery is a dark charcoal black. The edges are round making it feel like you have a good solid grip while holding it. The sides that are glossy are a fingerprint magnet. This battery uses 10 LED ring to tell you how much power is left for use. This is a neat design and is different than the traditional 4 LED power level gauge. I like that.

Overall, this is an easy to use and excellently designed battery pack. Anker has again made an outstanding product. I recommend this battery pack to someone who needs power on the go for a smartphone like an iPhone.

Having played many different Rally games this is one of the best. Not as good as RallySport, but very close. Great Graphics, nice car models and great game play. This is a must have if you like the sport of Rally, and even if you just like driving games.

Good Job!

This is the worst racing game I have ever played! graphic is poor; it is extremely hard to control and it is not realistic; it is more like the $.99 PC game I used to play when I was a kid.

The PS2 CMT Presents: Karaoke Revolution Country Bundle

comes with a great Microphone so you don't have to buy one unless you're interested in singing duets (to take advantage of that, you will need to buy an additional microphone). This game also utilizes the eye toy, if you have one (I also bought the Eye Toy 2 Game bundle that comes with the new Eye toy). When you use the eye toy, you can actually see yourself sing the songs or choose a character and use the eyetoy to put you in the background of the game (It's really neat)!!

The game tells you that there are 35 songs, what it doesn't explain is that you have to unlock some of those songs (Celebrity and Friends in low places are 2 that I have unlocked in just one sitting). You unlock outfits, games, characters by singing well and earning gold, platinum and diamond records. You can set the judging for easy, normal and difficult. It also has training so you can get used to it. We just jumped right on and headed for the "arcade" competition. You can choose your character and make them look like however you want, even change their outfits. You can choose the songs you want to sing, or choose random so that it chooses for you, and you can choose the arena you sing in (again, with the eyetoy, you can put yourself and/or your living room into the scene)!

I just received the game yesterday and my daughter and I couldn't stop playing, it's addictive!

If you don't want to compete and you just feel like singing, you can choose the "karaoke" option and just sing without being judged. There are also mini-games on there, but we didn't get to that yet. There is a lot you can do, I was so impressed and the song list was all the hot country music out right now. The other great thing about this is you can choose to sing along with the original artist of the song, or you can lower their voice and/or music to just sing the words by yourself. We enjoyed singing along, like you would in your car or watching their video, it makes it a little easier in my opinion.

The game is very enjoyable, even when you've already sang a song, you want to sing it again to try to improve, love hearing that crowd cheer! But if you sing badly, you will get booed off and get zero points (my daughter didn't like that!)

If you like singing, especially to tunes of artist's such as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, JoDee Messina, Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, Gretchen Wilson, Toby Keith and even Patsy Cline, Buy this Bundle!!

I Highly recommend it!!

My entire family including my 3yr old and my own parents love playing this game together. It is a lot of fun, and promotes self confidence, as my sons, ages 8 and 11, were initially embarrassed to sing in front of people, but now we compete and have a blast. I highly recommend this game. It is so much better than traditional video games. I also recommend the other Karaoke Revolution games.

If you are one of those people that turn up the radio in the car and sing to the music, this game is for you! We had a blast with this, not just the kids, but the adults also got way into scoring against each other! I thought the variety of songs was excellent, there was something for all voice ranges and with the selection of skill levels, one player could be a medium and the other an easy so that everyone does well (this was great for the kids who don't like to lose!!) If you like to sing, even if your're not that great, you will love this, especially if you have family and friends to play with!

This is a complex game to review. It has many different elements that appeal to different types of people, but if you're one of those whose tastes fall right in the center, you will absolutely love it.

The world is an amalgamation of conspiracy theories and horror themes. It's a very bleak world and this is very much apparent once you're out of the three primary cities (London, New York, and Seoul), which are very detailed and well-constructed (London being my favorite by far). If you're a fan of Stephen King, HP Lovecraft, or Supernatural, you will probably enjoy the atmosphere. It will be even more enjoyable if you collect and read the hundreds (thousands?) of lore items scattered throughout the world that offer greater insight into specific events or groups.

There are three factions, the Dragon, the Illuminati, and the Templars. They are united in their fight against the darkness, but often very much at odds over historical events. They each have their own storyline, and many of the responses to different quests are unique to the faction. The Dragon have a more eastern/philosophical outlook on things, the Templars are a bit more mystical and militaristic, and the Illuminati are very business-like and technical. The stories you encounter reflect this, as the Templar story often feels very mystical while the Illuminati story has more of a conspiracy feel to it.

The dialogue is particularly entertaining. You do not get to make responses, as in SWTOR, but I found the NPCs much more interesting to listen to in TSW. They often seem like real people and make amusing or enlightening analogies. You can talk to many about a variety of topics that do not directly apply to a quest, and I've spent several hours doing so without realizing how much time had passed.

The mechanics initially seem to be typical of MMOs, but differences become more apparent the further you get into the game. Instead of each quest being about killing 10 goblins, quests can have you trying to investigate the origins of the town, setting up defenses and fighting off attacks, or tracking down and stopping a supernatural killer (and killing 10 draug...). If the quest is fairly straightforward (kill 10 draug), you will see markers on your map and on your screen indicating where to go. However, if you're expected to figure something out this is often not the case. For instance, you may be given a vague idea of what you're looking for and through the use of google (there's an in-game browser and a website for various groups in the game, such as the Kingsmouth newspaper) and in-game clues (hidden in or behind paintings, in architecture, or just about anywhere you can think of), you're expected to figure out where you need to go and get there. Once you've arrived, the quest progresses to the next stage.

You're allowed to equip 7 active and 7 passive skills of hundreds purchasable using rewards for gaining experience. Some build resources, some use them. Some set certain states on the enemy (weakened, hindered, etc.), while others will exploit those states. You mix and match the 7 active and 7 passive skills to create a "build" that you enjoy and feel is effective. This can be done on the fly as long as you're out of combat (lose a fight? swap skills and try again). The states can also be exploited by other players, so you could theoretically get with friends and work together to create builds where you exploit each others' actions to greater effect.

As for the combat, again, the mechanics initially seem typical button-mashing. The states and skills mentioned in the previous paragraph add greater variety, but there are also indicators that appear when an enemy is about to use a particularly punishing attack that allow you the opportunity to either run out of the way to avoid being hit or to use an active dodge button for the same purpose. Although avoiding these attacks can be helpful in solo-play, it becomes imperative to avoid as many as possible in instances (dungeons) where one such hit may well kill you or put anyone healing on their toes to try to keep everyone alive. Fortunately, you do not sacrifice much damage or many actions by avoiding attacks, as all combat skills are usable while moving (and many situations will leave you dead if you do not use them while moving).

Armor is in the form of talismans, whether they're rings or belts or other items that do not alter your character's appearance. Clothing is separate and only alters appearance. There is a large clothing store in London where you can customize your character after you've earned some money.

Although there are many servers ("dimensions"), you can play with friends on any of them. If you join a group with someone from another server, you will be asked if you want to be transported to their dimension. When you leave the group, you are returned to your own. You cannot PVP on any server but your own.

PVP is restricted to one of two battlegrounds and one warzone. The battlegrounds only allow around 10 people per faction. The warzone allows 75 per faction and is persistent. Controlling various areas in the warzone provides a server-wide buff to the controlling faction (so people in dungeons or just out questing benefit). The power of the buff depends on the number of areas your faction controls.

There are still bugs (as there always will be in games), but generally you can either skip them or ask for an invite to a server where a particular quest isn't bugged. There aren't too many, but the ones that are there can be frustrating because it's often difficult to know whether or not you are stuck because of a bug or stuck because you just haven't figured something out. Except in a few cases (which often pop up in the help chat), most of the time it's the latter. Fortunately Funcom seems to be working quickly to fix the quests that are actually bugged, and reporting it to a GM will get them to bump the quest so that the bugged part is completed.

If you like solving puzzles, learning about the background of the game world, or building "decks" out of hundreds of different skills, this is probably the game for you. If you're looking for something light that you can breeze through without much thought (and there are days when that's the sort of thing I want), you're better off looking elsewhere.

Having had a chance to really sink my teeth into the game, it's finally time for me to pass judgement on The Secret World. I've played several MMORPG's in the past (World of Warcraft, The Old Republic) and have had fun with them in the past. But after spending countless hours with these MMO's, you start to recognize similarities in the various games. This is where The Secret World really shines.

The Secret World turns a lot of old ideas on their head. Leveling no longer exists, or at least not in the traditional sense. You still earn experience but instead of being greeted with a new level when you fill your experience bar, you now receive Skill Points to be spent in several areas. Along the way however, you also earn Ability Points to be spent on new abilities. You get to fully customize your character to do pretty much whatever you feel like that particular day. You can be a healer one minute and a tank the next. It's a great system that has a ton of depth to it.

Quests are also really well written. All the main quests of cinematic, fully voiced scenes. Side quests usual involve finding notes which is the only reason those aren't voiced. The quests have a lot of variety to them as well. While it is true you'll find fetch quests here and there, even those are done in ways that don't feel repetitive. Something that is truly wonderful about the game is the puzzle and research quests. The game forces you to really think sometimes to solve a puzzle, while other times the game gives you just enough clues for you to research it online (and also has a built in web browser to help). It really adds to the immersion and lore of the game.

Speaking of lore and story, the game really knows what it's doing in this area as well. Sometimes it does get cheesy in areas, but most of the time it stays on course of being a phenomenal story. There are so many missions that really adds depth to the different organizations and to the world itself. It will make you want to really search the world to get every tidbit you can. The controls handle well, there is a great variety of abilities to choose from and play with, and PvP is incredibly fun. There is so much to do and explore that the game will keep you busy for a long time. It will take you months to fully max a character out. No matter what server you play on, you can still pair up with your friends and quest together. Same goes for guilds which are called "Cabals" in The Secret World.

It should be said that the game does initially limit you to only three character slots. You really shouldn't need more because of the fact that you can just load a build and be any class you want at anytime, but it should be noted. You might also find some glitchy quests or other things, but with the game just launching, it's forgivable especially when Funcom stays on top of patches pretty well.

Overall The Secret World is a great game and definitely worth a look.

I was fortunate enough to get into the last two beta weekends for this game before it went live to release.

I have to say I was absolutely blown away. I finally found a game that wasn't based on _that OTHER MMO that everyone knows_ and I was ecstatic.

They threw out the traditional level grind and made something much more interesting. A sideways and vertical progression. You still level, you still gain experience but it comes in the form of two kinds of points, which can be spent on skill proficiencies and abilities to go along with those skills. The simple fact that your character can learn EVERYTHING in the game is amazing. But the great equalizer is that out of ALL the abilities and ALL the skills... you can only ever have a total of 7 active abilities and 7 passive abilities "at the ready."

What this means is a bit forethought on the part of the player. What will you need for a fight? Which abilities do I have that are going to be best for this area? Need a healer and no one else can? But you can! Change into it! Change from a TANK to a DAMAGE DEALER to a HEALER to any kind of hybrid there-in. There are synergies between all the abilities and untold 1000's of combinations that you can put together to make as unique a character as you want.

Csutomization is amazing out of the box too. In other games, the race for the best gear often results in all the characters of a class looking 100% the same. In the secret world, it's quite rare to see soemone else wearing what you are wearing. It does in fact appear to be a truly living world. In fact my character, well, I change my clothes every hour or so when I'm playing.

PVP is also fun! Three factions make it much more interesting and all of that PVP has benefits and rewards to the players out in the remainder of the world. Bonuses that you get from PVP apply to the PVE experience. And for once, PVP is on an equal footing, since you can have any skills you want, then it's up to you to find the PVP skills that work best for you. No more being beat by the guy that has more time than you so he has much better gear than you "in those other games."

Something that also strikes me as factastic, is that they didn't hold back on puzzle quests. They're NOT easy. It's like being in a "Dan Brown" novel and having to solve the same kinds puzzles that Robert Langdon had to. Cryptic clues, and research and patience. It's a whole new refreshing aspect to a genre that lately began to cater to the powergamer; the guy that had to get all the best stuff asap. This game requires you to pay attention as you play it, not just to gather as many missions as you can from a "quest hub" and go grind them out for the fastest XP gains a player can get.

Anyone looking to have their hand held to just get rewards fast and be the "top level" is going to be sorely disappointed here. This is a game about the journey, not how quick it takes you to get there.

It won't be for everyone, but I think more people will come to see the charm, talent and passion that went into making this game.

As a friend of mine put it, this game is like they took Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the CW's Supernatural, stuffed it with Resident Evil and then made it a massively multiplayer game.

Killing Zombies.

Get your practice in now.

Honest reviews on The Secret World - PC

There is a veil over the MMORPG player's eyes for the last ten years. We've been spoon fed quests with mindless kill counts ad nauseum. We've scoured dungeons and battled whatever may have guarded their deepest treasures, over and over again in the name of Epic Gear. Open your eyes and see the secret world. There is more out there that the MMO genre can offer, and Funcom will be your guide...

The Secret World offers a breath of fresh air in a somewhat stale video game genre. Certain mechanics may be the same sure, there's these things that will define an mmo, but TSW succeeds by adding factors and variables to this formula rather than regurgitating the same old stuff with different models and textures. For starters, this is an MMO based in modern times a welcoming break from your standard fantasy or science fiction setting. This naturally makes the game world familiar and easy to digest and possibly make your avatar more relateable. Mix in conspiracies, cultural mythologies, and the monsters that lurk beneath the bed, and you have an exciting setting that begs you to come back, much like a siren's song.

As noted above, Funcom introduces unique mission types that have never been introduced in the MMO genre before. Investigation missions put you, the player, right into the shoes of an agent of the secret society of your choice. These cannot be solved by just following waypoints on the minimap. You literally have to open your in-game browser and SOLVE the puzzles. You'll be googling for historic information, biblical references, or even searching for answers on a fictional websites blurring the line and enhancing the immersion in a fun and exciting way. These missions require some thinking outside the box. No spoon feeding here. Because I'm no Batman, my detective skills were lacking and it took me almost two days to solve my first investigation mission (Not 48 hours of game time, but more like thinking about the puzzle during the day, even when I wasn't playing) The sense of accomplishment was worth more than the XP rewarded. Sure you could just look up the answers or beg for them in general chat but then you're missing the point. You'll be reading the cliff notes to a good novel. "But I don't want to think and work hard when I'm playing a video game that defeats the purpose of a leisure activity such as playing video games!" Then go back to killing 10 wolves and collecting 5 pelts. These missions are truly a test of patience and perseverance. When you don't feel like playing Scully and Mulder investigating the most recent paranormal activity, the game offers your more traditional missions.

The lack of character levels and blatant classes is a welcoming change to your standard mmo from the last 10 years. Quality Level is a gear characteristic that indirectly defines how much progress you've accomplished in the game, so it could be argued these are just like character levels. But when you're wandering the city streets and encounter other players, you won't be able to tell "what level they are" just by looks clothing has no effect on character progression and is strictly for looks. Long are the days of feeling ashamed and weak as your level 1 thief in tattered leather stands next to a seasoned warrior with shiny exotic armor. You won't have to worry looking like a multi-colored clown as you collect all the items for some gear set. Because the lack of classes, you're free to build the character that matches your playstyle. There's still a holy trinity (tank, dps, heal) for group missions but each player can contribute to each role by offering secondary abilities to the table (ex: a damage dealer doing off heals). If you're a fan of collectible card games, you'll enjoy the way deck/abilities system TSW has to offer.

Another quality that stands out about TSW is how they deal with servers. When you create a character, you're asked to choose a "dimension." This selection matters for pvp purposes only as the persistant warzones will only queue up players from that respective dimension (75 players from each faction, 225 total). This design was used to make for shorter queue times for persistant pvp. The current map (Fusang Projects) is a little lacking when compared to other WvW persistant pvp designs out there but nothing Funcom can't fix in future patches (or by providing new persistant maps with more objectives/mechanics. This is possibly the only reason I can think of why I'm giving TSW on release a 4/5). The other pvp maps will queue up players across all dimensions. In addition, you could group up with other players from the other servers to tackle pve content or the non-persistant pvp. Essentially, TSW is "one server" (much like Eve Online) which means player's names are unique and global.

These are just a few things that stand out from TSW that I've personally noticed and appreciate. The game officially releases today (03JUL12) but I've been lucky enough to play since early access and have been enjoying it since (Fun 5/5). This type of game seems to attract the more mature player due to content as well as game design which proves to be a plus. If you enjoy X-Files, Dresden Files, Dan Brown, Men in Black, SCP, or love conspiracies: the secret world is waiting. Kudos, Funcom. You've shaken things up in the mmorpg world!

---

Update 10JUL12: Still digging the game despite some minor bug issues, barely scratching the surface content wise. My in-game time is approximately 4 days and 19 hours and I'm still half way through the first zone (Solomon Island). A couple of the missions are bugged at certain points but the first patch just went live this morning. Chat is still a little buggy, which can make socializing difficult at times (some channels reset when you zone in/out of areas). These are just minor bugs that don't really affect the enjoyability of the game overall.

Lastly, I'd like to leave this update with an official State of the Game written by Ragnar Tornquist. For those people questioning whether or not this game is worth a subscription or whether or not there'll be enough content 2-3 months after launch, hopefully this answers your questions . Back to the secret world; the spirits trapped at the academy are getting restless again.

Funcom as a developer has had a somewhat checkered history among gamers. While Anarchy Online, its earlier title, had a strong yet small following, Age of Conan disappointed many due to its premature release, which was reflected in a lack of content and many bugs in various game systems. So, to be quite honest, I didn't expect anything in particular at all from The Secret World, other than perhaps a better version of The Matrix Online.

Well.

Funcom has created a secret masterpiece. The Secret World is an MMO which, in many ways, reflects the desires of MMO fans who have been playing the genre for 10+ years, and want something different from yet another clone of World of Warcraft. And this game delivers that, on pretty much all levels.

The gameplay is reminiscent of other 3D MMOs, yet the action system is different, being based on synergies between skills and weapon choices. The game affords the player the flexibility to choose their own skills in whatever way they wish -which also allows players to mess up their decisions with an old school approach of having to live with one's mistakes in this regard. As a result, the game has a steep learning curve, but rewards players who want more complexity in their MMO experience as compared with most of the offerings since 2004.

The mechanics of the game involve the familiar quest system, yet in TSW the focus is very, very heavy on story telling (even more than in TOR, the first MMO to focus heavily on story telling .. and it has quite better writing than TOR does as well). And quest design is not monolithic. There are storyline quests and main quests and then side quests -and the main quests can be either combat, investigation (puzzle solving) or sabotage (stealth) in nature. This makes for a very diverse gameplay set as compared with almost any other 3D MMO. Quests advance in "tiers", and the story focus is underscored by a strict limit on the kind and number of quests one can be "working on" at any one time (gone are the days of going to a quest hub, loading up on its quests, and powerleveling through them to "level as efficiently as possible" -you are following stories here that have their own pace). And speaking of leveling -there are no levels, either, but rather Action Points (used to purchase new abilities) and Skill Points (used to upgrade abilities in weapons and armor slots) which are rewarded based on experience and certain quest completion. The player can allocate these in any way they wish (there are no set classes), although research is recommended to optimize one's choice -in that sense, the degree of complexity and prep required is moving in the direction of EVE Online, although not nearly as complex as EVE is.

I will say this, however. If you are looking for a light-hearted pew-pew type game, this is not that. If you don't want to invest time to learn the game's systems (which are not really like the familiar MMO systems), you won't like this game. If you are looking for another game where you can rush to max level and look around "to see what the endgame is like", then you won't like it either. As a result, I believe this is a niche game, similar in that respect as well to EVE Online -a game that will appeal to a certain segment of gamers, but not the "mass market" of MMO gamers like WoW or TOR or GW2.

So... if you're a bit of an experienced and jaded MMO gamer who is looking for something a bit different, a bit more complex, and quite a bit less mainstream, give TSW a try. It's a great game for people who are looking for the kind of experience it offers.

Razer Hydra PC Gaming Motion Sensing Controllers Portal 2 Bundle (RZ80-00630200-B3U1)

Okay, this is my first stab at a video review. Sorry about the poor quality of my voiceover and overall fatness of my face. I'm working on fixing one of those problems. Won't say which.

Overall opinion: there's a lot of potential in this device, but not a lot of substance yet. Fingers crossed: the company will be around long enough to see this thing through because it could be great.

-Aaron

P.S. Also, I had high resolution in mind when I edited this; I couldn't get this down to size to upload while keeping the text readable. Again...sorry about that. I'll do better next time.

This device is awesome! Using a motion controller to blast away zombies in Left 4 Dead 2 puts a big ol' banana grin on my face.

The technology behind the Razer Hydra isn't perfect yet, but it is pretty darn close. The one issue I initially had with this device was interference from surrounding electronics. Things that have powerful magnetic fields (some speakers, laptop power bricks, etc) have the potential to cause some jitter of the cursor. This issue is very unlikely to effect you, and if it does the resolution simple. For me, the solution was just to move the base station more towards the front of my desk.

[EDIT] After some testing to find out what was causing my level of jitter, I found it to be my Asus 23" 3D monitor. With the monitor off, my jitter drops to basically nothing (tested this with second monitor). Hoping to hear some good news from sixense regarding this, but seems that I just have a highly interfering product. The Hydra is still perfectly functional even with this interference, I just have to hold the controllers at a closer distance to the base to get the jitter to become unnoticeable.

[EDIT #2] From another post on the sixense forums, it seems like another guy with jitter determined it to be his 3D monitor (Benq brand I think he said it was). I have a second monitor (Asus 21.5" LED) and it causes zero interference. Also, no interference from the display on my laptop.

In conclusion if you have a 3D monitor you may experience jitter with the Razer Hydra.

The general setup in most games is to use the analog stick on the left controller to move around, while using the right handed motion controller to aim. Some games (at least L4D2) also feature motion gestures for the left controller. Tilting the controller up quickly jumps, tilting down crouches, tilting left and right switch weapons, and rotating the controller to the left reloads. Other important actions are bound to one of the four buttons on each side. There is no way as of yet to program your own control setup for games, but Razer states on their support website that the option will be available soon.

[EDIT] As a sixense moderator has stated in reply to this review, you can in fact modify your controls even now. It isn't yet natively editable within the Razer Hydra config program from Razer's site, but modifying a few text files within your Razer Hydra program folder is all you need to do to change your controls. They will add native support within the config program eventually I imagine, but it's not here just yet.

One specific mechanism you will have to learn with motion controllers is called "ratcheting." When you are using the controller to aim, you're going to tilt your wrist to the side. What happens when your wrist cant bend any more to the right? In order to continue aiming right you hold a button on the right controller which locks the cursor in place, while you whip your wrist back to the default forward position. This allows you to continue aiming in all directions even though you reach the edge of how far you can move. Takes a little bit of learning to get used to, but not too tricky.

You can also use the Razer Hydra in gamepad mode, where it essentially becommes a 360 controller that has been chopped in half. The four buttons on the right controller correspond to ABXY, while the four buttons on the left controller correspond to dpad up down left right.

If you are looking to have fun with a high quality motion controller on your PC, look no further. The Razer Hydra will truly add another dimension to your game. I could not recommend this product more!

The Razer Hydra is awesome and I hope it succeeds. It has 3 major problems that it needs to over come:

1) Jitter

2) Controls Mapping Software

3) Game/Software Support

If you're willing to work with the Hydra then you may be able to partially overcome these issues.

1) To remove Jitter you need to move the base in front of your keyboard. Basically as close as you can to the controllers.

2) Most recent alpha software available from Sixense but it's very difficult to use. Can work well if you love to tinker with software.

3) Only main stream game with direct support for the Hydra is Portal 2. Beyond that you may ask yourself, "Why am I not just using my mouse and keyboard instead?" You can get it to work with other game, but it's a pain.

I think Sixense needs to partner with Oculus Rift (Upcoming awesome VR goggles) and put a Sixense sensor inside the Oculus Rift. Oculus Rift currently has problems with horizontal drift that Sixense would fix. These controllers combined with the Oculus Rift would be a new gaming nirvana. It would motivate developers to support both. Sixense get hold of Palmer Luckey quick and make it happen!

Honest reviews on Razer Hydra PC Gaming Motion Sensing Controllers Portal 2 Bundle

These have amazing precision. The Portal 2 that is bundled becomes so immersive using the special controls and added abilities. As these start to become become more popular we will see more games with specifically programmed support. For your older games you can use this tool to create your own control profile for each game. I recommend that tool over the Razer Hydra Configurator as the later does not let you customize your game profiles. The cables are much longer than you could need. The shape is much more comfortable than a Wii remote. This is very easy to program with from a developer's standpoint.

Quick Review here. This is the only really accurate, lower-ish latency hand motion input on the market, but that doesn't mean the Sixense slacked off on quality. They are wired sure, but that decision was out of their hands. I use these with my Rift with all the awesome tech demos that are coming out and I have even been developing my own game for them. They are ridiculously accurate and the fact that the next generation of these bad boys will allow for 3rd, 4th, or 5th sensors that you can attach to your body is awesome. They are a company who obviously cares about bringing about the VR revolution and they get all the more respect from me for that. Lastly, you will want to have these when their new software comes out, MakeVR. It is a 3D world/model builder similar to living in a CAD program (It will be the Killer App for VR, at least in the Utility category) Anyway, good work Sixense, can't wait to get the next dev kit!. (I have ps3's Move controllers, and the Hydra is on a whole different level of accuracy then those. So, if you were skeptical because of past disappointments, don't be.)

Pokemon SoulSilver Version Review

I'm going to start right out with it. BUY THIS GAME! This game is amazing on many fronts which is why it deserves a buy if you have a DS (maybe even buy a DS to play this game).

Gameplay: 10/10

The gameplay is as fresh as ever. The formula that GameFreak put down so many years ago still works. If you have already played any of the previous Pokemon games, there are basically no changes, other than the fact of the addition of a few minigames and a pokemon can walk behind you. For newcomers, here's how the Pokemon formula works: You start an adventure with a starter pokemon, and then train to become the best pokemon trainer in the world. You do this by defeating other trainers who roam the land while also catching some extra pokemon of your own. The formula is straight up addictive and the plot is also well done.

Graphics: 8/10

It's pokemon on the DS. The game uses the same graphics engine as Diamond, Pearl and Platinum and yes, the graphics aren't top notch. I have definitely seen better on the DS (Mario Kart being a great example), but once again, the entire point of Pokemon is the gameplay and the replay value, not the graphics. As a plus however, many trainers have new animations and some gyms just look really, REALLY good. The atmosphere outside of special events could've used some work though.

Sound: 7/10

I will admit it, I am getting a bit disappointed with GameFreak recycling their 8-bit recorded cries for the Pokemon on every single game. These cries are the same we had 10 years ago. On the other hand, the overall soundtrack is really good, and I have also heard there is a way to get the original soundtrack back in the game by achieving a certain item. In general, the sound is ok, but I think GameFreak needs to do a little overhaul with the Pokemon cries.

Replay Value: 15/10

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 16 BADGES! 3 TOTAL STARTERS YOU CAN GET! Straight up epic. I, in my own right, already thought that all the other games that only had 8 badges and one region were long enough, but WOW. This game is amazing (I already had the Japanese version, and have played to the second Elite Four, and it's taken me a good 40 hours already) in this criteria for sure.

Final Verdict:

If you have a DS, BUY THIS GAME. If you don't, BUY A DS, and then BUY THIS GAME. Amazing characters, amazing battles, amazing starter pokemon (who doesn't love them a nice Typhlosion?), and great replay value. You won't be disappointed.

I, like many other players of this game, played the original Gold vesion for the Game Boy Color, and I loved it. I remember nights hiding under my covers with the game holding a booklight to see (or, when it came out, the GBA SP with the lighted screen)

When I heard about this remake, I was very excited, especially after seeing some of the new features upcoming. I had already played Platinum, so the DS graphics were nothing new to me.

Very excitedly, I got myself this game yesterday (Release day) and hurried home to play it. I was quite surprised to find that, not only was it more up-to-date than Gold, but in some ways, it was even more up-to-date than Platinum, especially through the utilization of the touch screen.

WHAT I LIKE:

*Return to JohtoVery simply, you retuern to the setting of Gold and play the game again with new features (Hence the term remake)

*Partner PokemonIn HG, you have the first Pokemon in your party following you at all times, like Pikachu in Yellow or Amnity Square in D P Pt. Not a huge thing, but I like it

*Updated graphicsseeing the Johto region in full, brilliant color is somehow nostalgic and a lot of fun. It's just pretty, plain and simple

*Added Safari ZoneMany were upset at the loss of the Safari Zone in Gold. Well now, there's a Safari Game again. I have yet to reach it, but I have heard good things about it.

*Utilized touch screenThis is a big one. In HG, the touch screen now serves as a touchable, interactive menu. Now, instead of hitting START every time you want to check something, you can just tap it with the stylus and use all of its features totally through the touch screen. The touch screen also has a drag-and-drop functionality in the PC boxes, allowing you to sort your boxes and your team more efficiently. This is even an upgrade over Platinum's Poketch.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

*Pokewalker issuesI like the Pokewalker idea a lot, don't get me wrong. Problem is, the one I got doesn't seem to work right. Not a big deal, since it's not a pivotal part of the game. Would have been nice though... oh well.

OVERALL:

I have had nothing but fun with this game. Definately worth $, without a doubt. The strange feelings of nostalgia and novelty together is odd, but I like it! 5 stars!

Okay, so I've been playing Pokemon games since the original Red and Blue here in the US. The Gold/Silver/Crystal trio were, and still are, my favorite of the series (Crystal obviously being the best, since it was for the Game Boy Color and it had a load more stuff in it). These remakes are very much a welcome thing, as they've used the engine from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, and the experience has been brought up to date. All sorts of new things to do, having any Pokemon of your choice follow you around is pretty neat, though not a selling point, loads of extras (you can catch most Pokemon in the series in these two remakes, as a way to try to phase out the GBA games/slot on the DS Lite and move on to the DSi and DSi XL), and the fact that this game has much more length than the average Pokemon game (you go to the Johto region for the 8 badges there, then you head to Kanto for the 8 badges there, 16 total), this is a very nice package deal. The Pokewalker, while, again, not a selling point, is a really neat addition as well. Catching Pokemon on the run, walking and gaining EXP for the Pokemon of your choice is a really cool addition. I go on almost daily walks with my dog, so the Pokewalker is a really cool addition for me personally, cause now I can take my Pokemon with me and level up while I walk. All of the additions (Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, three sets of starter pokemon obtainable in one game, Pokeathalon, Global Trade, etc.) make for a lengthy quest, and the ammount of time you can spend playing these games if you truly know the ins and outs of leveling, EV training, natures and whatnot, you can truly have a game that you can and will play for years. If you're not a fan of Pokemon, or have never picked up one of the games, this is a perfect game to get you going. Lots of fun, amazing ammount of time to spend doing all the things there are to do. And, if you have what it takes to get all of the 493 (staggering, isn't it? I remember how stoked I was when I finally got all 151 on the original Red) Pokemon, you truly... have more patience than me. None the less, it's a lot of fun, being able to trade and battle just add more, and the new Pokewalker all add up to a very great deal for your money. It's been ten years since Gold and Silver hit the shelves, and this is an amazing reawakening for those games.

Honest reviews on Pokemon SoulSilver Version

There are plenty of reviews of the game here and not so many about the pokewalker itself.

The pokewalker is basically a pokemon mini-game but pretty high tech. It represents the core of the DS gameplay even in its limited way but enough so to be fun.

When you transfer a pokemon into the walker, the actual picture of the pokemon you transferred shows up on the little screen. Given that you can migrate pokemon across all the games one way or another, I suspect it supports every pokemon in any game.

By walking around (or by holding it in your hand and pretending to walk ;->) you gain 'watts', 1 for every 20 steps. You then spend the watts on 2 mini-games. Pokeradar allows you to find and battle / capture a wild pokemon on the walker itself. Dowsing gives you a chance to find items. Additionally, there are different 'paths' that you can select to walk down and more paths open up as you generate more watts. I'll also note that I happened to catch a pokemon in the walker that wasn't in the first 'region' in the game and I thought that was pretty cool too.

In the pokebattles, level doesn't seem to matter which is a nice simplification. And apparently, you can pokebattle across walkers as well.

On the whole, the pokewalker is a very nice addition to the game and is worth using as a trivial way to add to your game experience.

This game contains not only the awesome Pokewalker, but also a double portion of Pokemon nostalgia. Not only is it a remake of Pokemon Gold, a game I very fondly purchased over 10 years ago, but also Pokemon HeartGold resembles Pokemon Yellow in letting your starter follow you. Yellow was my first ever game for my GameBoy, I was the envy of my friends who all had either Red or Blue, which featured a distracting red or blue hue. Pokemon has evolved a lot since those days, adding many new features, most of which were welcomed. Although many features have been added, the battle system has not changed much. Some do not like this, saying it needs to evolve. I for one, being a huge fan of turn based RPGs, like how it hasn't changed. I wish more RPGs today stayed true to their roots. I'm looking at you, Final Fantasy. Now why pick Gold? Well actually I got both, along with both figurines. I did play Gold as a kid, so that's the one I decided to play first.

I am already in 70 hours in Platinum, which doesn't even have all 16 badges like HG/SS. I expect a lot of time will be spent during the course of playing HG. The re playability of Pokemon is astounding, you can't go wrong. Now only if they would remake Crystal. SpiritCrystal?
