Wow, I can't believe the most useful review in Amazon for this game is plagiarized from Gamespot. I mean, it's not even the complete review, but at least it's one of the few that actually talked about the game. There's one guy who says he had a problem being sent the regular version instead of the Platinum one, another one complaining about a scratched disk and another one saying the game is too violent for his grandson.

Those three dimwits have lowered the score of a fantastic game for personal problems they've had that have absolutely nothing to do with it, so, even though I've acquired this game through the PSN and not on Amazon, I'm here to write a factual review about this game. But first, a little history.

I have never played the first Saint's Row because I only recently acquired a PS3 and I used to game on PCs, where that game has never been released. I purchased this game on the PC on a sale on Steam, but back then my PC wasn't good enough to handle it, and I hear the PC version is buggy anyway. So, anyway, having now a good PC, on a whim I decided to purchase the then-recently released Saint's Row: The Third. I absolutely LOVED that game. It was fun personified. Well, if the game was a person, so I guess it was fun gamified.

So later I had the chance to get the PS3 version of THIS game thanks to Playstation Plus, which I did. I thought: "I loved the third game, so I think the second one must be almost as good". I was wrong. This game is EVEN BETTER. I won't talk about the differences between both games, but let it be known that if you enjoy one, you're bound to enjoy the other, even though your mileage may vary.

You see, the gist of Saint's Row is that it's GTA done right. Yes, yes, GTA is, in its own right, a good game and all, but it's guilty of some terrible problems that people have overlooked because of the great publicity that franchise has had. I mean, it wasn't the first game that allowed all the things it did, but so many people thought it that now games like Saint's Row are called GTA clones. And it's OK that they are, when they deserve it. Saint's Row is not a GTA clone, it just belongs on the same genre, but it's quite different.

If you've played GTA you know the basic gameplay mechanics, and if you haven't, it's an open world game. The city is completely open since the beginning of the game for you to travel anywhere you like. The game is third person, and you can walk, drive every vehicle you can find (either buying or stealing) and attack every person in sight (or even help them if you can and feel like), enemies or not, with your fists, or with melee/fire weapons. You have a story, and missions within it, but you can leave them aside and set yourself to roam the world at your leisure, either in pursuit of side-missions or just to have fun.

The most important part, and this is one of the things that make Saint's Row 2 more enjoyable than GTA III-IV is that it doesn't take itself seriously. This game is made with humor, and that makes it much easier to like the main characters and root for them. Sure, the game is violent and you end up making here things that might make a GTA character wince, but the context of this game makes things funny instead of terrifying, specially if you like dark humor.

Another great thing is the gameplay. One of the main problem I had with GTA was that, for a game that boasted about freedom, they had exactly one way for you to do the missions and you couldn't deviate from the set path. In SR2, you are given an objective and then you're free to achieve it as you please. You are not forced to use a particular vehicle or way unless, of course, it's an important part of your mission. For instance, if you want to pretend to be a policeman, it's quite logical you'll need a police car.

Another thing that SR2 has that GTA doesn't is personalization. You can make your own main character, male or female, and you have a great set of options for customization. And you can change your looks afterwards thanks to the magic of plastic surgery. You can buy different outfits too in stores you find in the city. Either entire costumes or different parts to personalize

The side missions are another great thing. You have from the simple, like playing hitman and killing certain targets to the bizarre, like smearing waste on buildings to lower their property value to the hard, like using a helicopter to rescue people from gunfights and transport them hanging from the landing skids with their hands. Or, if you feel in the mood, take all your clothes off and go streaking (this is censored for the benefit of the people on the ESRB, who are sensitive to the sight of the human body, but absolutely desensitized to the gory dismemberment of people).

The main missions also add some variety to the genre and, again, some very valuable humor. The roughly resumed storyline is that you, the main character, are in charge of The Saints, a gang who wants to reclaim rule over the city. In order to do that, you need to get rid of the other gangs. Doing this gives you access to more stuff or missions. Pretty much everything you do in the game helps you accomplish or unlock something, which makes the game feel more rewarding than others in which you have to repeat the same unfun task over and over in order to unlock one simple thing.

So, bottom line: do yourself a favor and buy this game. And then do the game a favor and put a favorable review of it here on Amazon, so it gets the score it rightfully deserves.

This game is full of glitches and bugs. It freezes up and crashes the PS3 all the time. I stopped playing just because of this. The game play was fun buy the amount of crashes was unreasonable, I did have all the latest game patches applied.

Honest reviews on Saint's Row 2 - Playstation 3 (Platinum)

This game picks up five years after the events of the first game. Your character is in prison, and has just awoken from a coma. At this point, you get to fully customize your character. Male or female, skin color, voice, hair style, etc. After customization is done, you meet another former Saint named Carlos who helps you break out of jail. He informs you that the Third Street Saints are virtually a thing of the past. The former leader disappeared, Johnny Gat is facing death row, and everyone else is dead or left. To make matters worse, a large corporation named Ultor has taken the Saints neighborhood and turned it into a new downtown private sector, with the old church you ran the gang from being used as a monument to the "gang problems of the past."

You start out having to find a new hideout and round up your gang leaders (your lackies). This is where you rescue Johnny Gat (who is easily the best character in the series), meet a woman named Shaundi and a man named Pearce. You assign each person to a different gang to get info from, and then you can start working on the missions to clear out the rest of the gangs.

The gangs you deal with are the Ronin, led by Shogo Akuji. They are kind of like the Yakuza, and are recognizable by their yellow clothes and yellow vehicles.. The Brotherhood is a gang of tattooed thugs led by Maero, who is a very large and intimidating man, The Brotherhood are recognized by their red clothes, red vehicles, and excessive tattoos. And the Sons of Samedi, which is a gang of voodoo weirdos led by a man known simply as The General, The Sons are recognized by green clothes and green vehicles.

Once you clear out the other gangs and take out their leaders, the corporation Ultor decides to move against the Saints, virtually using the Saints to take out the other gangs, leaving the Saints as the last bastion of gang violence in the city. The leader of Ultor is planning on launching a political career by "single-handedly" cleaning up the gang problem in Stillwater. You fight against the Ultor army, and take out the leader. Effectively making the leader of the Third Street Saints the new "boss" of Stillwater.

You also get the option to play many different mini-games. Insurance fraud, pimping, drug dealing, body guard for celebrities, etc. All are optional, and aren't required. But they are a lot of fun, and a quick way to make cash for customization purposes or to buy properties.

The game is a lot of fun, and while called a GTA clone is anything but. In fact, while GTA is taking a more serious approach with their past few games and leaning away from the goofiness they used to be known for, Saints Row 2 ups the laughs. The game is a lot of fun, the missions are awesome, and the characters are memorable. Buy this game. Or at least rent it.

I've only had this about an hour, but it looks cool. I really liked splinter cell conviction and especially the deniable ops portion of it. The installation instructions for this add-on pack were not clear to me so hopefully I can help some others out.

Here is how you have to enter the license key to make the extra content available:

1) Download and install "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction(tm) Insurgency Pack" (amazon makes the key available during download and also it will be available in 'your games' section of amazon.com)

2) Launch the game "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction(tm)"

3) From within the game menu, enter your unique key in Extras -> Exclusive Content -> (Push 'Y' on xbox 360 controller) Redeem Code menu

Hope this helps,

Brian

Though long-time fans have complained campaign in Splinter Cell Conviction, the Deniable Ops mode has been well-received. Deniable Ops lets you pick a map, loadout, gameplay style, single or multiplayer, and off you go pure stealth, no frills, no embarrassing torture scenes that make you cringe.

My personal favorite is the single-player Infiltration mode do not be seen not even once. Thrilling and satisfying for stealth fans, especially since enemy location is randomized, lending great replay value.

The Insurgency Pack adds new maps to Deniable Ops. This is bread and butter if you like Deniable Ops. The maps installed without a hitch and were up and running within minutes. If you don't see them in the selection menu, make sure you scroll down with the arrow keys there is no scrollbar indicator, a major design flaw.

Highly recommended for fans of Conviction's Deniable Ops.

I own all of the Splinter Cell Series PC games and they are among my favorites. I recently purchased

Splinter Cell Conviction and I really enjoyed playing it, and I was really delighted when I purchased Splinter Cell Insurgency Pack as an add on to Splinter Cell Conviction. The game is very

challenging and has great graphics. I recomend this game very highly. I hope that they continue the

Splinter Cell series, even though Sam Fisher (the main character) is growing older.

This is fun for the kids. Not only can they sing these great songs, but they can watch videos from the show while they do it. It is a bit limited as far as karaoke games go. Great for kids and fun to watch, but if you love to sing you might want to pass on this one.

I ordered a shiny new case for the game about 3 months ago, and it was about 12 bucks. Not bad for a mint condition disc! However, the only bad thing about it was the case's center that snaps the disc in place broke. Not to worry though, the CD is snug into a new casing, while the old "display" case is intact, but with a completely broken center snapping piece, cause I broke the rest of it. >P

Overall, I've been waiting for this game for a REALLY long time, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of retro gaming, instead of the usual next-gen stuff, but that's just my opinion anyway. The full installer, which is recommended if you want most of the awesome gameplay, even music, is only about 560MB's of space, but you'd still need 600MB give or take, it's really not that much compared to the heightened memory nowadays.

Prompt shipment was a plus as well, but I forgot the seller's username. Oh well.

Anyway, this is DarkMike signing out. See ya.

Unfortunately the game I recieved was defective. I tried loading it on 1 Windows XP computer 32 bit and 2 different Windows 7 machines 64 bit. They wouldn't fully set-up. So I returned it as defective. It looks like a great game, as I have every other Bomberman game ever released for the various gaming systems. If you can get a good one try it.

Best Deals for Atomic Bomberman - PC

Bomberman's basic gameplay is massively addicting. Not only do you get to blow up walls (Or other structures representing walls), but you can also gather up various kinds of power-ups that make things even more fun (Glove lets you pick up bombs, Fire makes the bomb's explosion, the Skull does a surprise effect that'll either help you or make you suffer in play, etc).

So there's quite a bit of reasoning as to why Bomberman is striking PCs. I'm pretty sure everyone had a Windows computer in his/her household, so why not make Bomberman that accessible to everyone? Interplay saw this, and as they managed to obtain Hudson's approval, they gave us this.

Atomic Bomberman is a pretty spruced up offering in the franchise. The graphics are incredible and eye-popping, the music is catchy and techno-y (However, sadly, there's no music during play), and the atmosphere in general is just pretty awesome. With this new look, you'd think that there would be changes in the gameplay right? Fortunately, there isn't. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. What I think is really impressive is that the game supports online play with up to a whopping TEN people! I'm not exactly sure how to set it all up, considering I own a Windows 7 laptop, but I bet the result is more than worth it!

Also, it turns out that the game is pretty customizable. You could make your own Bomberman levels, graphics, and even change the messages! This is difficult for the younger audience to do, since it's all supposed to be done via Text documents and possibly other stuff, but it's still a pretty cool feature for those that can figure it all out.

If there's anything I am kinda concerned about, it's the voice acting. It's not BAD, but it feels weird at times. In fact, despite the game rated K-A for Kids-to-Adults (The early E for Everyone rating), Interplay snuck in some voice clips that are rather aimed at teens and beyond ("You blow!" "Eat my dust and lick my >BLEEP

Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I ran into a few problems with the Ion Drum Rocker right out of the box.

First off, the sensitivity of the cymbals are about 65-75% of where they should be. If you're at an expert level, you'll definitely see the difference when you're hitting drum rolls on the high hat (middle of Everlong, YYZ, etc.). Second, you have to hit the cymbal a little harder than usual, which increases arm fatigue. Third, the cymbals are quite loud (not as loud as the RB1 drums, but damn near) in comparison to the tom toms. You can purchase aftermarket cymbals (several available for purchase online & amazon.com!) that would work extremely better.

The bass pedal is also an issue. Sturdy, but it is prone to sticking at the bottom. The pedal is also prone to static issues which cause the entire drum set to disconnect (

Also, my drum module was triggering buttons sporatically (due to a manufacturer defect), but a replacement from amazon.com is on the way to my home.

In conclusion, the Ion Drum Rocker could've been a great drum set, but there were a few quirks that keeps it from greatness. You can get replacements for your cymbals($40-50 a piece) and also the Rock Pedal(great buy for your aspiring fake drum career :D); but it retrospect, you shouldn't have to spend money to upgrade equipment after just spending bucks. Do your research!!!

I ordered these on December 9th (in the evening) and thanks to a free trial of Amazon Prime, I got it shipped next day for just $3.99. Anyway I received them today and......WOW!!!! This peripheral single-handedly has made Rock Band FUN again!!! It's a completely different experience than the standard drum kit. The symbols add a level of realism that could not come close to being achieved with the standard kit. There is a learning curve, as the symbols will confuse you at times (when to hit them vs when to use the regular pads,) but it's fun figuring it out! The kick pedal is very good (way better than the one that comes with Rock Band and Rock Band 2, but not as good as the Omega Pedal.) It does take a while, took me about 30 minutes, to set up out of the box. There are wires going everywhere, one from each drum pad/symbol, to a central hub but you can zip-tie the cords up so it doesn't look like a rats nest. The kit can be set up to your liking as all the drum pads and the symbols are move-able. The pads themselves are more quiet and give more "bounce" than the rock band kit as well. Over all this is a very good drum kit, I have been playing Rock Band for almost 1 year, got to the point where I could play about 1/2 of the 250+ songs on expert so I have put a lot of time in on the old kit. I love the Drum Rocker and am looking forward to hours and hours of fun using it!!! The BEST kit on the market for playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero World Tour!

Best Deals for Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3

In a nutshell, this is a fantastic electronic drum kit for Rock Band. It's worth picking up if you have skill and the drums and want to advance to the next level.

Some notes before starting out:

When I compare the Ion Drum Rocker to the standard Rock Band kit, I am referring to the original R.B. drum kit, not the R.B.2 kit

I have the Rock Pedal (which works for this kit with a simple 1/8 to 1/4 adapter) and will not discuss the pedal that comes with this kit (though it seems more responsive than the standard pedal)

I have been a "Rock Band drummer" for about 10 months, and can play roughly 75% of the songs on Expert

Let me explain some specifics about this kit via a pros/cons list:

PROS

1) Drum pad placement. Lots of flexibility to move drums pads around--change the angle, height, and placement on the bar. You can set the four pads to wherever is most comfortable for you. The L-shaped rod under each pad gives you some flexibility in height.

2) Noise reduction. The drum pads are much quieter than the standard Rock Band kit. (There are some YouTube videos that demonstrate this, and it is a noticeable difference.)

3) Sensitive pads. The drum pads are velocity sensitive and also have more 'bounce' to them than the standard kit.

4) Easy adjustments. The kit comes with a drum key (an allen wrench, really) that lets you make every adjustment that needs to be made.

5) Cymbals. Come on, you really want this to have the cymbals, right? :> The cymbals are also quiet and really add to your enjoyment when playing. It also makes you focus more closely on what's going on in the music (not just blinding hitting the blue pad without noticing whether you're hitting a tom or a ride cymbal).

CONS

1) Cymbal placement. Well, it's okay, but you're a bit more limited when it comes to placement and angle. The kit comes with a short (~12") bar and a longer (~24"-30") bar, so you have some flexibility in height. The drums give you more freedom of placement.

2) Ships with two cymbals. You can order the third for $50, though.

3) No option for a fourth, or "red" cymbal. Some songs ("Run to the Hills" or "Rio" amongst others) have you hit the red pad as a cymbal, but there's no option to plug a cymbal into a "red" input. Not a huge problem, just a tad annoying (I'm actually more annoyed at the RB programmers for ever turning the red snare drum into a cymbal!).

4) Bigger/Bulkier than the original RB kit. Or maybe this is a con. :> It's not too much bigger, but it is heavier and a little trickier to move.

As a sidenote, I have not had any problems with the cymbals dropping 'fast' notes (mine are set to Ride/Blue and Crash/Green currently, so I haven't tried the Hi-Hat/Yellow).

Overall, the pros vastly outweigh the cons. These seem to be very high-quality drums, and it adds to the challenge of drumming when you have to differentiate between cymbals and toms when you're playing! If you are really into Rock Band drumming, I highly recommend this kit.

Honest reviews on Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3

I was beginning to think I was the only one, but I have begun to see more and more comments about other peoples problems with ION customer service and the drum kit... here goes mine.

I got the Ion DrumRocker for PS3 which didn't get released until December. I picked it up the first day it was available, only to have the bracket on the Red drumpad break when tightening, since it is only cheap plastic (again, something meant to be hit hard with a stick should be better constructed). This was not due to over-tightening as the customer service guy tried to suggest since I tightened all of my pads the same way and only had this one break. In addition, both of the cymbals were only registering 50-70% of the time and only when hit VERY hard. I went online and filled out the only form I could find for customer service and didn't get a call within two days. I did more searching and finally found a number (not toll free) to call. When I called, they acted like they were doing ME a favor by allowing me to return the product. They said they were going to send a UPS shipping label by email and that I would get it in two days. Two days later, no shipping label, so I called again, they said they would resend it. Two more days, no label, called again, said they would try a different email address. Two more days, no label. Now they say they will print out a label and send it to me by mail. This went on past through Christmas, and into January and I still did not have a shipping label. Finally, mid-January, after talking to 10 different people and spending hours on the phone, I finally have a label. I send it in and cross my fingers. Three weeks go by and I have not heard anything. I call. They I give them the RA# and serial# of my drum set and my name. They tell me that unless I have the Tracking number of the package, they can't tell me what's going on with my repair. Remember now... THEY printed the shipping label... THEY issued the RA#... and now THEY have no idea what's going on with MY merchandise!! I ask to speak with a manager and after arguing with the guy he transfers me to a voice mail service, so I leave a message and ask for a call back..... Any guesses if I got a call back? One week later (now nearly the end of February, two and a half months after the set was broken) I call again and demand that someone find out where my merchandise is. The guy finally tells me that there's a backlog of repairs and that they did receive my broken parts, but that I wouldn't get replacements until late March or early April -FOUR to FIVE MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED AND REPORTED THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!!!!! I voiced my frustration saying that I'm sure they are filling new orders for drum kits that were placed well after my repair was requested and meanwhile those of us with problems are left out our $300 and without a working product. He tells me a sob story (which I'm sure is a lie) about how he bought a drum rocker kit for his daughter for christmas and it was broken and he still doesn't have a replacement and his daughters ask him every day why santa brought them a broken toy.... oh, woe is me... my poor deprived imaginary daughter without her drumrocker... whatever will I do?

Just when you thought it was over... I decided to use the Ion Drumrocker kick pedal with my stock RockBand kit using an adapter (I like the DrumRocker pedal better) and within 4 songs, the trigger switch in the pedal broke (the same problem described in the first post). Now I've gotten another RA# and shipped off another part from my ION kit, probably not to be seen for another 5 months.....

This review may get too detailed for the average user, but if you're like me, you want to know everything there is to know.

The first thing I need to mention is that the static issue is a serious problem. While playing on carpet, eventually static builds up and causes the Ion's module to disconnect with PS3 halting your fun mid-song. This can happen several times each song. Check the internet there are some solutions to isolate the pedal and stand by using fabric softener sheets lol! Luckily I accidentally stumbled upon the BEST way to fix this problem. Take an extra 1/4" patch cord, plug one end into the Ion module and let the other end dangle on the carpet. This will ground the module and there will be no way for any static to build up and discharge. Once I discovered this trick, I never lost connection again.

For a Rock Band replacement drum set, this set is AWESOME. If you're already good at RB, these will make you even better. If you don't get 100% accuracy at the end of a song, it's NOT the drums' fault, is YOUR fault. The responsiveness of the drum pads is pure heaven. They bounce back and make drum rolls a breeze. They are nice and quiet for small home or apartment use. The stand is very sturdy and excellent quality. Everything is easily adjustable to put the pads where you like. It's true what others wrote about portability. Tear-down and set up is not easy. Luckily I have space in my house and everything stays together and simply moved to the corner.

Bass pedal very mediocre. I started with Guitar Hero and quickly upgraded to a much higher quality kicker and loved it, so I don't like the pedal style at all. It is playable, but you may want to upgrade. If you do, be careful because although the Ions advertise that you'll be ready to move up to professional electronic drumming at any time because their drums are just like real electronic drums that's not entirely true. Although their pads are like real e-drums, the bass pedal is not. Ion's bass pedal is digital in other words on or off. And that's the signal the Ion's drum module is expecting. If you upgrade to a real bass drum kicker, it puts out an analog signal basically identical to the rest of the pads in this kit. But the Ion module cannot read an analog signal for this input. You'll need to buy a small device that converts the signal.

Cymbals here I can't give as good of a review. The cymbals sound like you're hitting a block of wood and the responsiveness isn't great. They're only moderately fun to play on and they're too loud, but that's not the real let down. I'm a Guitar Hero player 1st, and a Rock Band player 2nd, so if you like to play both, read on. I closely checked all the compatibility charts for GH and RB games, and every recent game supported Ion's drums. I mistakenly thought that the Ion drums would act just like the Guitar Hero World Tour drums (or Band Hero drums). They don't. The GH games will "dumb down" to only 4 lanes of drums just like you were playing RB. This was a huge disappointment to me because I like the added difficulty and realism of playing 5 drums plus a bass pedal as opposed to RB's 4 drums plus bass. The Ion drum module (the "brain") appears to have 8 inputs (1 bass pedal and 7 "drum" inputs). This is NOT the case for GH games. The module really only has 5 inputs: 1 bass pedal and 4 drums. The other 3 inputs are merely duplicates of 3 of the existing drums. They are simply wired in parallel so that a drum (or cymbal) hooked to either input produces exactly the same result. Conversely, in RB2 the cymbals do make a different sound during fills and in freestyle mode. A good thing is that in RB3, the Ions support the pro mode which means the cymbals are differentiated from the pads and you have to play the correct one. If you want to play on more realistic feeling cymbals, I recommend buying Ion's basic drum package and adding other cymbals that are more playable. Either way, there is no way to make GH work with 5 lanes unless you want to buy some extra and/or modded equipment. If you do, read on.

There are ways to play Guitar Hero games with 5 lanes as it was meant to be played, but you have to use extra equipment. There are forums out there to give all the details, but I'll sum it up quickly. You can use a real drum module from a set of real electronic drums by completely bypassing Ion's module. You plug the drums directly into the real drum module, then use the MIDI out from the drum module to the MIDI in on your Guitar Hero drums. If you've thrown out your GH drums, you can buy just the modules (and/or the wireless dongles) on internet auction sites. Do your homework before actually buying a real drum module because the module will need to have reprogrammable MIDI channels so that the GH module gets the correct signal. If the MIDI notes cannot be reprogrammed, you'll need yet another piece of hardware that is made strictly to re-map MIDI notes.

The second way is to just get the MIDI box that accepts drum pad signals, and outputs (re-programmable) MIDI signals. These boxes are much cheaper than true drum modules because they aren't capable of outputting any sounds, only MIDI signals.

The third way is to buy a modded Guitar Hero drum module or mod one yourself. You can make the stock GH drum module accept input from the Ion's drum pads by putting 1/4" female jacks on the GH module and connecting them internally. Check forums for how to do this correctly.

Be warned that if you do use the Ion's to play GH, you CAN'T use Ion's bass pedal because it's digital. You'll have to use GH's stock pedal or some upgrade that's like a real kicker with an analog signal. Also be warned that Ion's drum pads output a VERY strong analog signal and can be too sensitive when used with a modded GH module. You can download a program to adjust the sensitivity of the GH module, but I've found that even at the absolute lowest setting, the pads are still too sensitive and you get false hits from vibrations from other pads. This can be fixed by attenuating each of the signals by using resistors, but that's even more modding!

The final part of this review is to talk about the most fun part to me. You can get rid of Ion's drum module and connect your Ion drums into a real electronic drum module and play along with either GH or RB. This can be done in practice mode, but if you want a real thrill, you can make it work inside a real game too. If you can program your drum module to re-map the MIDI notes, you can take the drum module's MIDI output and put it into Guitar Hero's MIDI input. Now your drums will register inside the game. You can then turn the volume down on the video game's drum track and then turn the volume up on your drums' amp or however you play your real electronic drums. Warning!!! This will make you realize how difficult it really is to drum. The video games have a (relatively) HUGE margin of error where you can strike a drum too early or too late and the music still plays perfectly. With this setup now the drums play exactly when you hit them. This is an extremely fun time. Even better is that you can keep adding more drums (like more cymbals and more toms) and map different drums to same colors making your drums still register in the game. It becomes much more like real drums.

If you're like me and spend too much on this type of video game, I have another suggestion for you. If you think you'll keep upgrading drums or adding lots of stuff, you'll be way ahead of the game if you just start with a real set of electronic drums. You can get basic kits for $500-$1000. I know it sounds like a lot, but trust me if you start with Ion's drums and keep upgrading and adding stuff you'll end up spending much more in the long run. Just realize that you're spending this money on a stand and 4 pads. The Ion module will become useless and the so will the cymbals when you upgrade. If you're going to stay with Rock Band and not go to real e-drums, this kit is awesome, but like I said before, skip the cymbals.

If Madcatz's FightPads have one great thing going for them, it's that the controllers are roughly 1/5th the price of most decent arcade sticks on the market. Those who are interested in trying Street Fighter for the first time and know better than to try and rough it out with the standard Xbox controller should seriously consider the pad as an affordable alternative to emptying out wallets and collecting change from the couch for a TE or a HRAP. Most everyone will use this controller for Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV, games that require more practice and refinement than other major fighting games such as Soul Calibur or Mortal Kombat. With that in mind, if you aren't sure that you are committed to the game enough so to learn the combos and tactics, Madcatz's FightPad is a good way to dip in and see if you like Street Fighter without the possibility of leaving disappointed and broke. Put simply: the game is not for everyone.

With that out of the way, the controller itself is similar to the terrific Sega Saturn pad, which is very good for fighting games. I disagree that the controller feels cheap, although it is extremely light even when compared to a standard Xbox controller. And just like other reviews have established: the buttons are great, the directional pad is okay. More than half of the characters in the game operate with QCBs and QCFs, which I find very comfortable to pull off with the FightPad. However, charge characters such as Chun-Li or Vega are much easier to play using a fightstick.

I have had this controller for over a year now, and would likely buy another simply for its price and its portability. I usually play SSFIV on the 360, but if I'm on the go it is nice to boot up vanilla on the ol' laptop and bust some heads with yesteryear's installment. In these cases, a fightstick is bulky and a chore to pack up, while the FightPad is not can be toted just about anywhere. So, in conclusion, the Madcatz FightPad is certainly an economical and logical path to giving Street Fighter a shot, as its shortcomings are greatly overwhelmed by its low-price point. Cheers.

OK, this is a great controller! I got SF4 the 2nd day of release and played with the 360 controller for many months. I was determined to get the Akuma but it was too pricy early on. Eventually I got it and all I can say is that I can pull off the combos much easier and the controller just has a superior layout. Some combos are still very hard for me like Vega's, but as for the Shoryuken type it's great. Plus it's great on many others but the combos where it's: charge , 3 kick or 3 punch, take some getting used to, Vega's is a similar charge ultra/super. Great controller and it's much more comfortable playing with! SF4 itself is a great game too, 9.5 my book!

Want to step up your fighting game ability without shelling out $100 for a decent arcade stick? If so, this is the controller for you.

Let's face it, the regular X-Box controller just wasn't designed to accommodate the needs for fighting games. Pulling off combos and getting special moves to come out when you want them to can be a real chore with the normal X-Box control stick and buttons. While they may take a small bit of getting used to at first, the comfortable pad and Sega Genesis style buttons of this Fightpad offer a much better experience.

I saw a few comments complaining about how this is a wired controller as opposed to wireless, but I don't see why anyone should care about that. Wired means you don't have to use batteries or a charger, and the USB input allows the controller to be used for PC games as well.

If you're a competitive player, then an arcade stick is still probably the best way to go, but the FightPad is the next best option no matter what type of fighting gamer you are.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightPad - Akuma

I have been searching for a controller with 6-buttons on the face for a very long time. Ever since the Sega Genesis and Saturn died, the gaming world has universally adopted the 4-button-on-front interface. That is great for most types of games, but NOT for Street Fighter.

After buying countless replacements to play Street Fighter games on the PC, I found this one to be the best. Not only does it have a large, durable d-pad, but it also has a nice feel. It's got 6 large buttons on the front, which makes it easier to pull off throws, focus cancels (SF4), or overheads (SF3). It also feels light. But don't let that fool you into thinking this controller is cheap. Far from it. It has stood against constant mashing, lots of 720 motions, and occasional tosses after frustrating online matches :D

And although Street Fighter purists will lambaste me for using turbo, I found the feature to be useful when set to the top buttons (3 punches and 3 kicks) to make pulling off ultras much easier in a tough online match. Though I don't think it's programmable to do link combos.

I am not a joy stick guy, so the transition from the 360 controller to this was pretty smooth.

While a wireless pad would have been great, the USB cable still its perks: no batteries wasted and PC play.

Overall: this stylish pad gets a 5/5 for it's practicality, durability and price.

Isn't too much of a review to write on here.

The box says 100 MS points, however, as previously stated, there are 400 points. The headset is not like the old one, where the mute button is close to the controller so you can easily switch the mute on and off. The mute button is on the cord, which I find very awkward to use during live game play. The previous reviewer stated that there was an echo, I'm not expert but i think that's due to having your TV too loud, I don't know.

If your going to play online then this kit is just right for the money. After a while your headset will go out. So when you buy this kit, it comes with a headset. Not like the oringinal headset, But it works very well. Good deal!

The 3 months of XBOX Live is definitely a must have, though the headset is most definitely sub-par. I ended up throwing it away after a few days as the volume level was unresponsive and the mute button remained constantly engaged, even when it was supposed to leave an open channel. I would probably recommend biting the bullet and getting the wireless headset and getting a 1 year XBOX Live Gold separately for $49.99, that is a much better deal than this bundle.

The only real bonus is the 400 points that comes with the package, I enjoyed being able to purchase some new downloads for Rock Band 2 without spending too much.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Live 3 Month Gold Kit Subscription

First of all, when i had the original Xbox i never tried LIVE because i didnt have a good net connection at the time(sbc yahoo dsl ewww) ..then came along Comcast's high speed internet service, then i got hooked up.. finally great net . it made me think of xbox live more.

then came the xbox360 launch, like millions of people who got a unit. i FINALLY tried the xbox live service..and man was i hooked! try playing halo 2 and 3 on this, same with gears of war 1 and 2...you wont regret it!

want to do a beat down ? try playing dead or alive 4 or street fighter online...its a great stress reliever. just watch out for that guy(or Girl) that spend their whole day on line you.ll get your rear handed to you on a platter...but thats part of the fun to a point ..think of it as your own arcade. remember those back in the day? (80s kid here)

Microsoft gives you numerous options to try out their xbox Live service. for me i tried the 3 month plan(but i know ill get the yearly membership now!)

i reccoment getting the gold membership, because not only do you get the option to play against people online ,you also get the option to download bonus game content for live enabled games such as weapons, maps(game backgrounds etc) or even characters, and lots more.

... you also can download arcade and classic games such as castlevania, pac man, Street fighter and my fav the original TMNT 1989 arcade game. these are done with microsoft points you get 400 included in this pack(game money think of it like that) i know some people gripe about this but hey thats a part of life, and its not that bad.

also included is the headset to chat up and trash talk your opponants...its well built, but the sound echos a bit. personally i prefer not using the headset its distracting sometimes, but its there is you want it.

sure sony, and nintendo have online services (im also a sony online member for my ps3 ) i hear that the Nintendo wii service is a joke...then again so is the wii.(nintendo USED to make great systems)

Microsoft has the best layout of all the online services i was up in running in less than five minutes...it adds SO MUCH dimension to your xbox 360 experience..its worth checking out.

I received the package in RECORD time, which surprised the *$%# out of me. It got to me (and I live in Alaska) in 4 days from the time I ordered it to the day my wife sent me the text saying it was on our doorstep. The contents were well packaged and nothing was scratched or tampered with. It was really easy to setup, if I can set it up then I guarentee that anyone else can. The kinect sits on top of my entertainment center next to my dvd player, and it works great. Even my shortie 3 year old son can play it (albeit he doesn't quite get the concept). All in all it is a great deal. The only thing I had a problem with was that in the bundle package, it's supposed to have two games and it only came with 1 hardcopy game. The second game has to be downloaded via wifi. I dont have wifi in my house, and I am probably the only one in the U.S. who doesn't. But other than that, no complaints.

Well, I already have an xbox 360 for myself. This purchase was for my niece, who has gone on forever about getting a kinect for her room. So, I bought her this one and so far, she's loving every minute of it. Kinect Adventures, she says, is fun and a good party game and she loves playing the carnival game. I couldn't get into that one myself but she seems to enjoy it tons.

Also, she's definitely loving all the kinect apps on the marketplace and now she wants dance central 2.

Anyway, this package seems to be a wonderful package for all ages, especially for the kids, and she just can't get enough of it.

VERY VERY Easy set up. picked up the WI Fi..I thought I would have to do it like my computer. Had it all hooked up and downloading up date in 10 mins. Will definitely buy from Warehouse Deals again. I don't think the items in this box were ever opened just the main box. I will come back after my Grandson gets his Christmas Present early....

11/26 My Grandson Loves it!!!! He wore himself out boxing today...he is 8 yrs old. I put the kinnect on the top of the desk and it works great. Have about less room than is recommended. I got the Holiday Bundle He loves the circus games...I loved watching him...He figured it out quicker than I thought...He loves the soccer game he beat me...It was the best thing I could have bought him...

I just received these headphones this week, and they work really well. It was hard to know from the description and reviews if these would work with other devices besides the xbox, but it actually does. I was led to believe that audio came from the usb connector, but this isn't true. The USB only provides power. The sound actually comes in via the RCA to 2 mm stereo jack from the control dongle. You can adapt this cable using a female RCA to male 3.5 mm adapter if you want to plug this into your laptop or mp3 player, etc. I've ordered a 2mm to 3.5 mm cable to actually replace the RCA cable to see if that works as well. I played Halo on this, and it definitely helps immerse you in the game. The sound is rich and full. My only complaint is that the cable is very long, and therefore doesn't roll up very well. However, it's understandable if you play your game 10 feet from the screen (I play my xbox primarily from my computer screen using a VGA connector).

Past headsets I've owned:

Turtle Beach X-41 (hated)

Tritton AX180 (hated)

Turtle Beach X-11 with TB DSS (loved, owned 2 pair after dog got a hold of the 1st. Even gifted a set of X-12's to my nephew)

So my three main criteria:

1) I prefer wired headsets no batteries, no wireless interference (X-41 downfall)

2) Comfort (Tritton downfall)

3) Sound Quality

The X320 delivers majorly on all fronts.

They are light and the ear-padding is second to none. They feel like pillows caressing the side of your face. I've worn these on long session with absolutely no fatigue.

Sennheiser is a benchmark name in audio products so I'd expect nothing but the best in sound quality and boy do these deliver. I married this headset to my TB DSS sound processor (you'll need a jack adapter to do this) and the sound quality is nothing short of phenomenal. I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile so I don't say this lightly. I thought I was getting great sound and all of the necessary audible cues with my previous headsets, but I'm hearing new sounds every session with the Senn's that I've never heard before. I've been extremely impressed and satisfied with these.

So the bad... If I had to nitpick something, I'd prefer that the adjustments on the headsets be a little tighter. The slides that adjust the cups up and down on your head feel a little loose. They look kind of ugly in the pictures, but are much better looking in real life. Also, I bought these here for $150 marked down from $180 and like a week later the marked them down to $100... :( Oh well, I'd buy them again at $150, and at $100, it's a no brainer... Get these AND the DSS.

My 2nd match of MW3 that I ever played with these I got my only M.O.A.B. and I'm not a good player by any means, but I attribute it to this headset and Christmas Noobs! YAY!

Best Deals for Sennheiser X320 Xbox Headset (RCA to TV connectors)

I got these knowing the great reputation of Sennheiser headphones. These headphones don't disappoint when it comes to audio quality. The sound is very balanced and crisp, which may not be to everyone's liking if you want a more dynamic audio range for action packed movies and games, but the quality is there to hear nevertheless.

These would have been the perfect headphones for me but unfortunately I decided to return them due to the mic. The mic has a noise isolating function in order to prevent background noise going through, in order to do so it is basically muted until you speak directly into it at a certain volume for it to pick up. This was a problem for me as my friends would only hear the second half of my sentences when I spoke...as well as it became difficult for me to speak at all during nighttime sessions when I have to be quiet due to my paper-thin walls.

If the issue with the mic doesn't apply to you then this product will be excellent though.

Honest reviews on Sennheiser X320 Xbox Headset (RCA to TV connectors)

Sennheiser headphones rock! I'm happy with these headphones. Gaming has never sound this good!

Positives:

+Aesthetics headphones look sleek well designed

+Sounds. Good bass + mids. Clear sounds

The sound is decent, maybe I expected too much from this gaming headset from Sennheiser. The thing I do like is the mic muting function, but again as far as sound they're about on par with the turtle beach X-12's we have in the house as well. I paid $69.99 for these, and am extremely happy I didn't get them when they came out for 129.99. If I had paid the full price before the drop these would have definitely been sent back. Unless the price drops further I probably wouldn't recommend them to a friend.

These are ok if you are doing easy or medium difficulty (light/standard). On hard/heavy I can't get A's though, it's annoying. You have to hit the sensors dead center or it doesn't like to register. Normally with pads you can hit kinda in the vicinity and they will pick it up. Not so with these ones. Compounding this problem is the fact that the pads do slip. All soft pads will slip no matter what the box says. Non-slip is bogus. I've seen ppl duct tape them down and maybe if you do this they will stay in place. I don't bother as I tend to move them here and there a lot and I don't want them sitting in the middle of my living room all the time.

They're cheap pads and I wasn't sure what to expect. I guess they are pretty much what I thought they would be...actually a little less. I'm left wondering if I should've bought some other pads instead. Maybe I will if I end up playing a lot with my friends. If you are pretty into DDR it's unlikely these pads will satisfy you. If you just play recreationally and not aggressively they might be ok. I've gotten A's on songs I'm playing now with other pads (check RedOctane, they make good ones but they are costly) and I'm getting much lower now, frustrating.

If you've got a little extra cash you may want to spring for some pads with foam inserts. This helps you orient yourself so you don't start veering, and it also keeps the pad somewhat in place. With this soft one you will have to readjust it after every song--oftentimes I have to do it mid-song or I will run into something. On a positive note, these pads worked well with my PC--just plug them in by USB and they are good to go, StepMania pretty much recognizes them too, no drivers or all of that. However I'm struggling to get them to work with a USB hub, they may not do that.

Conclusion: Newbies and recreational players go ahead I guess; more serious or competitive players probably don't bother. Biggest complaint is probably the seemingly small sensors. The rest of the negatives are mostly common to soft pads and not really unique to these ones. DDR is incredibly fun, but I have to take away a star of fun since my scores aren't accurately reflecting my performance. Well the songs are still good at least.

The dance pad that i bought was very awesome. It was really good to use because most pads that i have played on have a flat surface and you have to stomp on it. For the one i just bought i just have to put my weight on it and it reads it. I enjoy this product.

Best Deals for PS2 USB Energy Non-Slip 4 in 1 Dance Pad

This pad probably isn't the best for expert dancers, but it HAS held up for 30 minute workouts 4+ times a week for over a month now. I guess that's better than a lot of dance pads I've heard of. For the price, I'd highly recommend this one and will probably get the same one once it wears out.

Great dance pad!!!

Honest reviews on PS2 USB Energy Non-Slip 4 in 1 Dance Pad

The reviews for the dance pad said that it is not good for experts but might be OK for beginners. Not true. It is bad for beginners as well. The pad slips too much. Within a month of buying it the sensors are already weak and have moved from their original position. I don't recommend buying this dance pad.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for PS2 USB Energy Non-Slip 4 in 1 Dance Pad

Works most of the time, but often does not register a step because sensor buttons are relatively small and not that sensitive, despite the advertising hype. In other words, it's a piece of junk until you compare it with what other dance pads are available at this price then it starts to look pretty good. Sad isn't it? Still, it's good enough to play DDR3 and Stepmania and have fun if you don't get too bent about scores and it's slightly better than the pad that comes bundled with the DDR games and I can't afford to spend $300+ for one of the metal arcade-quality dance pads (and who knows how long one of those would last it's not like the quality control on the soft pads instills confidence). I will say that this dance pad is one of the best I've tried unmodified and it's the best option I know of if you want one dance pad to work with both the Wii and the PC to play DDR3 and Stepmania (unless you can find 2 pads that fit your needs, the combined cost of which is less than the cost for this pad). The good news is, as another reviewer noted, you can modify this pad to make it work much better and last longer the bad news is that all soft dance pads are so poorly made as sold that they need to be modified to be decent (yes, ALL soft dance pads, even the ones with foam because they are the SAME pad as cheaper ones, just with foam and a zipper added oh and they cost $50+ more cough, ripoff, cough).

Bottom line, if you can get a dance pad with 1" foam already inserted for under $30, buy it and even then, you should STILL modify it to add a board back, fasten wires in place, etc. Otherwise, your best option is to buy the cheapest dance pad you can find which is returnable with no restocking fee and compatible with your hardware/software, check that it works and then modify it per the great directions available all over the web (just search for "mod dance pad").

For about the last year I've been using a modded HRAP3 with Sanwa buttons. Of course, that's really the best you can get. It's done the job, and it's done it well. So after initially trying out the TVC stick it seems like it should do the job, for now that is.

The buttons seems a bit mushy, but still responsive. The weight of the stick feels good, definitely not as light as I was expecting. The gloss on the cover art has this sort of grit (matte finish) to it. I'm not really sure how else to explain it, but it feels decent resting your hands on it. Like it or not, at this time, the TVC stick is the best (and one of only a couple) option for an arcade stick on the Wii.

Ultimately, time will tell if this stick holds up to hour after hour of play. Regardless if it does or does not, I have confirmed this can be modded just as easily (and in the same way) as the SF4 SE sticks. So if parts break, replace them. And according to numerous other arcade stick sources, supposedly the parts on the TVC stick are a "higher quality" (not Sanwa) than the parts on the SF4 SE, so who knows, it may be good to go for quite some time.

So basically it's 80 dollars for the best Wii arcade stick on the market at this time. It's moddable, and based on my (and others) initial impressions, seems decent. Like it or not, it's really one of two options for an arcade stick on the Wii. Give it a shot and see what you think!

Mad Catz has created a high-value gem in the Tatsunoko Vs Capcom Arcade Fightstick. The layout is arcade accurate, with quality components. The stick and buttons are essentially replicas of the Sanwa parts used in Japanese arcade cabinets. It's worth noting that Mad Catz improved the quality of these parts compared to their original PS3 and Xbox 360 FightSticks. I believe it, as the TvC FightStick feels really good, very much like a proper arcade stick. The joystick is biased towards fighting games, with a square gate to make finding diagonals easier. This design choice does mean that the joystick doesn't initially feel quite as responsive for classic shooters and platformers. I found I had to be more deliberate with my movements.

There are some thoughtful touches too, such as the movement of the + and buttons to the top edge of the case so they aren't accidentally pressed in the heat of play. There's also a lock switch to disable the Home button. I also appreciate the switch that lets you toggle whether the stick functions as a D-pad, left analog, or right analog stick. Keeps in mind it's still a digital joystick, but it's a wonderful feature that broadens the FightStick's compatibility. It's especially handy to have analog stick emulation to navigate menus. Also, since the FightStick acts like a Classic Controller (it connects to the Remote), it's great for Virtual Console titles. Think of it as the ultimate NES Advantage. There's even a turbo function built in.

What I love most about this FightStick is how moddable it is, as I believe that's where the real value of this joystick lies. If you're comfortable with a screwdriver, you can purchase off-the-shelf, true arcade joysticks and buttons by Sanwa and Seimitsu, and they snap/screw right in. The wiring is even solderless. For a modest investment, you have a full-fledged arcade stick, that can personalized to your needs. In my case I popped in a Semitsu LS-56 joystick with bat style top. It's stiffer and engages its microswitches more quickly than a Sanwa (or stock Sanwa replica) joystick. I still find it great for fighting games, but now it's a great general use stick a variety of classic games.

I also highly recommend investing in a Mayflash Wii Classic Controller to PC USB Adapter. Combined with the TvC FightStick, you have an excellent arcade stick for Wii, PC, and PS3. At current prices, purchasing this stick seems like a no-brainer.

Best Deals for Wii Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Arcade FightStick

I am not a fully experienced fightstick owner. I have never modified a stick nor do I really want to do so.

I recently bought TvsC on the January 26th release date. I was hyped, I played it and thought the game was an 8.5 outta 10 as I played with a standard wireless gamecube controller for 3 days. Upon hearing about this fightstick I didn't want to shell out 79.99 plus tax. I read the positive reviews and just decided to go ahead and buy the TvsC fightstick. Now the game feels like a 10 outta 10!

Man! Its great! You have got to have a fightstick to really enjoy TvsC game. Its solid. Plays great. Good clean design. Buttons are responsive. The joystick is also much quieter (not so much "click, click, click") as opposed to the Tekken 6 arcade joystick (PS3) which I also own. It has a nice weight and stays still if played with on a table. It works only by being connected to a wii remote which doesn't hinder play. You'll forget the wii remote is even connected.

Nice matte (non-glossy) design so you dont have to worry about fingerprints. The plus and minus buttons are placed on the front the the fightstick which is no big deal, you will have to reach around when you need them but it will be almost impossible to press them by mistake.

I placed the fightstick on one of those small foldable "tv dinner" tables positioned in front of the tv and pulled up a chair and it felt almost like playing in the arcade.

If you can't get one right away try to keep yours eyes open for a deal if you own TvsC. It is worth the full price and the $79 is low compared to decent sticks for other consoles.

Honest reviews on Wii Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Arcade FightStick

I play a lot of fighting games. I own the Madcatz Street Fighter 4 standard edition fight sticks for both xbox 360 and ps3, and this tatsunoko vs. capcom stick is in a league of its own. I've modded both of my SE Street fighter sticks with Sanwa 30mm buttons and JLF joysticks. Right out of the box, the feel of the stock joystick is perfect. I wouldn't even consider spending the extra 25 bucks for a sanwa joystick. The buttons are not as great, but much better than the stock buttons on the street fighter SE sticks. I'll still probably get sanwa buttons to install just out of my own preference for them, but in the meantime it's really not an issue at all, since all the stock parts are responsive. The weight of the stick is great, and there is no noticeable lag due to the fight stick being wireless.

But seriously, the fact that a stock Madcatz joystick can be this responsive and have such a smooth feel right out of the box is amazing. In my opinion, the quality of this joystick really is comparable to a sanwa JLF, and that is pretty awesome for the price tag.

I got this with the game on release day, so I've had some time with it. I've played using each control scheme and have to say this is the best way to play the game hands down, none of the other controller schemes come close as to using this stick. Now for the details:

Quality:

Overall very nice build, it definitely doesn't feel cheap. I was worried it would be light and too easy to move around on a table top but it actually does have a good amount of weight on it. I also like how the bottom portion of the arcade stick slopes down a little bit, it definitely makes it a lot more comfortable. The matte finish is also a welcome touch which doesn't require constant cleaning from fingerprints and such. However it seems that most of these will suffer from a very minor imperfection as my friend and I's arcade sticks have the top left corner of the matte finish raises up a bit. Most people won't notice or be bothered by this but I thought it was worth a mention.

Stick/Buttons:

The stick itself is pretty decent although some may feel the ball top is small, I got used to it and prefer it over the much larger ball tops. My only real issue with the arcade stick is the buttons, they are mushy to me. They are responsive and work fine but to me just feel awkward like a light gun without the spring action trigger. In the end though if you decide the stick or buttons aren't to your liking this arcade stick is mod friendly.

Size:

In my opinion the size is almost perfect. It's just small enough that I can fit it into my GPak Wii Carrying case (had to move things around a bit but it fits very well). However it would have been nice if it was just an inch or two wider for larger handed players.

Overall this was worth the +$70 I paid for it (got a deal on it). Now I'd just wish some other fighting games would come out on the Wii so I could get more use out of the thing.
