Review of Karaoke Revolution - Xbox

This is just plain fun! It's one of the few XBox titles that is made for any age, and not complicated to learn and enjoy.

Graphics are good, as are the tunes. If you score high enough, you will unlock new outfits for your performers and advance to new venues with songs increasing in difficulty.

I recommend checking out the tutorial before you try performing, as your performances are rated by the crowd and will determine your advancement through the game. Start on the easiest level until you get your confidence up! Note that if you are using the microphone, you need to have it close to your mouth to register on the game. (*You need either an XBox live headset or XBox microphone (plugs into the standard controller; front side) to play.)

This is a fun game even if you can't sing. And I think it can help your singing as you get into it. The game is similar to the dance revolution game. On the bottom of the screen there will be the words you need to sing and a visual guide with an arrow pointing up or down to let you know that you're flat or sharp. If you're just right, you get the crowd excited and cheering. It's a great party game. My only complaint is that there aren't enough songs on it. You can go on Xbox live and download other songs, but they're $5 for 5 or 6 songs. In addition, the songs available appear to be the same songs that are on the Playstation 2 version of this game (like Jessie's Girl, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Sweet Home Alabama). Having said that, though, it's definitely worth getting.

Love it! Its for every person who loves to sing, but won't get up in public. I received it as a Christmas gift, and its great you can have the fun of performing in front of a crowd without ever leaving the house. My family came for Christmas and they wouldn't sing at first, when they realized how fun it was we played for 2 hours. My nieces 13, 11, 9 went out the next week and bought it for PS2 and fight over the mike. Lots of fun

Love the series. I was never someone who hit the karaoke bar's on Friday night, but every party we have, we bring it out and its always a hit. Even the people who don't compete will usually sing along as they watch. Be careful, its addictive.

For anyone who has only tried the Singstar karaoke games for PS2, if you really enjoy singing and doing karaoke, you have GOT to try the Karaoke Revolution games... so many more options for playing and much easier to follow the lyrics and try to stay in tune... In my opinion, ALL of the Karaoke Revolution games are a BLAST!!

I actually happened to find this in a store before i could order it online. so i bought it there. so no comment on the seller here. however the system is sweet. 1080p looks great, sounds great pretty damn loud actually! not much storage space for extra stuff inside the case. (all the necessary cables for HDMI hookup, power supply and 360 power supply) the screen doesnt actually touch anything when closed so not to many worries there. quite strudy and lockable case. i love this thing! i bought it for a portable gaming system when i deploy to afghanistan soon. and it fits into one of those "Gorrilla Case" tough boxes which is nice also. and its good for 110 and 220v. good for people like me in Europe. the price is a little steep but i think it was worth it.

I have owned this for roughly 2 weeks now and I love it! The matte screen is very sharp, bright, and smooth, with it being easily visible since it has a 170 viewing angle. This lets you and four friends (or more) view it without any issues at all. The screen has a load of settings you can use from adjusting the color, the brightness, and more. Having it as a matte screen means that there is *barely* any reflection even when the screen is off, so if you play outside or where there is bright light, it won't bounce back with some kind of annoying glare and distract you like some home TV's would. Also in case you or someone changes your settings in a weird way, you can reset it to the base default. The blue light on the sides of the monitor is cool to see but low enough (especially with the brightness of the monitor) that you will quickly forget it is there. The speakers are just incredibly clear, with no distortion and can go VERY loud. In a room with noisy people, I could turn it up to just 32 (out of a 100) and hear the game clearly and perfectly. In fact, that's what I did at a very recent game night with a bunch of friends and other people while they played Super Smash Brawl or Mario Kart (people were yelling things too as they played). So only crank it up to 100 if you are trying to drown out one of Metallica's concert next door. Lol! The HD screen also includes TWO headphone ports so you and a friend can listen in private should you want to play a game like Black Ops in silence or just enjoy a nice movie.

Now moving on down from the screen, the hinge looks very solid and I doubt it will ever break unless you are abusive to it. The top also has a kickstand at the base of it, for when you're viewing it so you can have the screen leaning back or aimed solidly straight over the xbox/ps3, and the view will NOT be obscured. The top fits down with the bottom perfectly but be careful as the little mesh baggies that it comes with can sometimes stick out and you'll end up with them sticking out, possibly getting damaged that way. Properly take care of the mesh bags and I think you'll get years out of them. The bags have little round things that slide down the string to lock the opening tight and hold your power supply and other stuff in it perfectly. There are 2 thick velcro straps to lock down your xbox (whether it be the thick original or the slimmer S version) or even your PS3 (any make of it) onto a supplied thick pad.

The overall weight is about expected for something made of tough, but semi-flexible body along with a 19 inch fast, HD monitor. Even with the weight of a Xbox and all accessories inside it, I didn't find it hard to carry from the hand or with the provided padded, shoulder strap. On the outside, there is a big G (company logo) on it but that's replaceable from the website with a number of other things like Gears of War, Mass Effect, or even Halo stuff. The whole case can get a skin to decorate it in of the mentioned game stuff as well. I forgot, I got white little stickers (since I got the non-halo Vanguard version) that you can stick all over it in any way you like.

Performance-wise? I love it! I won't even take my Xbox out of the case sometimes to hook it back up to my other HD TV or even when I take it over to a friend's house because I think it both looks and sounds better than even a Vizio 32 inch! Probably because the speakers are made for gamers whereas the standard HD TV is setup for TV shows. Not only that, but the screen, even though it is a 19 inch matte screen deal still feels bigger that it is because I can sit elbows-to-case close to it without my straining my eyes after a 5-6 hours of game play. One of my friends even said the screen on it looked even better than his 42 inch TV.

The only downside to the WHOLE thing? You can't really stuff more than one controller inside it and there are no places to stick your games inside it. So you'll need to carry extra controllers and games in a separate bag or something. Not really a big deal since it was designed for the *console*, not the games. :) Maybe future versions will have a CD slip case inside it or something.

So? What are you waiting for? Get this thing and start playing on the best personal gaming experience you'll have! If not for you, then at least for someone who's an avid gamer! Trust me, they'll love it and you for it!

I wanted this for the ability to fill time while on vacation. It works great and does exactly that. The screen is large and very clear. The sound is good as well. The case does its job of protecting it's contents and giving you the ability to transport your beloved gaming system with you on trips. The case does feel slightly flimsy when opening/closing it...probably because it's a plastic case. Another thing that you might not take into consideration is this thing gets a bit heavy once you load it up with your system including the power supply and controllers. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the unit. Just keep in mind that if this isn't your primary screen, then you have a $350 doorstop sitting around the majority of the time....but, if you're without a TV or on deployment, then this is a great setup. It's footprint is about the size of a small suitcase and can be tucked out of the way when not in use. The setup was a slight pain, which involved plugging in the HDMI cable and power cord (which may limit how far you can sit from the outlet). I also suggest the cord splitter that is probably on the bottom of the product page. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and look forward to taking it with me on future trips. (Side note...The TSA requires that you completely remove your game system from the GAEMS Vanguard.)

Honest reviews on GAEMS Vanguard Personal Gaming Environment (Xbox 360/ PS3

This pretty great. The one thing that I am working on is trying to reduce the setup time of the product. I would want to open the system up, move the pouches to the side, and be able to hook things up without taking everything out every time. I hope to put the 360 brick to the left, because it heats up, and carry a power strip with a long cord. One thing that would be nice, is if there was a way for them to engineer a spot for the screen power supply, and on the back put a power outlet for the console power, and a power inlet for both the screen and console. However, I'm not sure if there is a practical way for the inlet (which would need to be close to a standard computer power cable) to be implemented. Some sort of power splitter with a suggested setup would be nice though.

This setup is perfect for a quick portable fix. The screen is very clear and easy to view from multiple angles. It is crisp and high def 1080p adjustable to 720p if you're into it. The speakers are amazing they have adjustable bass and treble with a built in equalizer for the audiophiles. They are louder than my two Vizio TVs and even sound better. Mine came with a remote that has brightness built in (up and down like volume) so you don't have to enter the menu and can adjust on the fly perfect for pro gamers. Two headphone jacks. The case can be locked with a combo or key lock (like a suitcase) It is very lightweight and sets up in a few minutes.

The negatives: It's not as sturdy as I had hoped. The screen has blue lights that come on around it...options for red maybe, or nothing at all? The screen is naked inside when you close the case leaving it susceptible to scratches (possibly) if you don't put your stuff away carefully. HDMI only. Obviously the price more than the gaming system itself.

CSI: Miami - PC

Among other things! First off, let me tell you I'm a huge fan of CSI, and will buy anything that comes out with the CSI moniker on it. I've played both of the CSI Las Vegas games, and have had fun playing those.

CSI Miami is technically the same game as the previous CSI PC games. When there's a sequel to a game, you hope that the user interface hasn't changed much, but the gameplay has. This game plays exactly like the other ones to the point it's formulaic. You play 5 cases, 4 with CSIs and 1 with the Lead CSI. The last case always incorporates the previous 4 cases. I spent about 10 hours playing this game, and I've played it before. It wasn't that it was hard, just how should I put this gently, ridiculously nitpicky. What I mean by this is, you can pass up huge pieces of evidence and it not cost you any points, but the smallest task you don't do, will hold up the game for an infinite amount of time while you go back and re-check all your steps. This happened to me in the 2nd case and it was a stupid fingerprint that had been checked on earlier evidence, but not another piece of earlier evidence. It was maddening.

The voice acting was done by the original actors, but the only one who managed to speak with any sort of believability was Horatio Caine. Speedle was the worst offender, sounding at times like a Ben Stein stand in "Wow."

I did enjoy playing the game the story lines were excellent and believable, and tied up well in the final case with Horatio. (After playing this game, I have learned never to join a country club). I found no bugs in the game which is a relief after the mess that CSI Dark Motives was when they put it out earlier this year. Upon further inspection, there's a patch on for bugs, but I played it through with no problem, but I suppose it would be better to install this and head off any problems before they occur.

So in the end, the game wasn't a bad way to spend a snowed in Sunday, but if I had my druthers, the game would be much better. If you're not a die hard fan of the show, don't bother with it and invest your money in the upcoming Season 2 DVDs releasing shortly. Die hards pick it up with the understanding that it isn't that great.

System requirements:

Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

Pentium 3 or AMD Athlon 750 Mhz

256MB RAM

DirectX 9 compatible sound card

16x CDROM or better

650MB available harddrive space

16MB DirectX 9 compliant graphics card

Rated "M" for Mature and suggested only for those over the age of 17. The rating is for blood, gore, violence, and sexual themes.

From the game manual: "Story: You are a CSI intern assigned to work under Horatio Caine at the Miami Date Crime Scene Investigation Unit. To discover the truth behind the crimes, you must visit crim scenes, interview suspects, and collect and analyze physical evidence. Luckily, you have the help of some of Miami's top CSI agents and support team."

From the game manual: "Object of the game: In CSI:Miami, your goal in each case is to gather enough evidence and information to lead to the arrest of a suspect. Using high-tech forensic tools as well as your own puzzle-solving and interrogation skills, you must close the evidence trinity by identifying the relationship between the suspect, the victim, and the crime scene. Only then will you be able to make an arrest and ensure that justice ahs been delivered to the victims."

This latest installation of the CSI game franchise is relatively good. The game manual seems to have more information in it, so that you aren't wondering how to use tools.

New to this game is a cryptogram puzzle where you have to decode a scrambled text message. Very enjoyable. I also enjoyed the "assembly table" in the lab where you get to reconstructed torn pictures and broken lamp glass. I was suprised at the number of pieces you have to work with .. these werent simplistic puzzles.

Otherwise, this game is essentially the same as the previous CSI games. Collect evidence, double check it for additional details, go back and forth to the locations and requiz the witnesses/suspects, check the dark places with your flashlight, search every pixel on the screen to find any zoom shots that you missed before, and it all falls together nicely. If you feel you need a hint, just take a look at the hint questions that you could ask your partner (but dont actually ask the question) ... merely looking at the question itself can lead you to re-examine something without losing points on actually asking for hints.

If you're familiar with how to play these CSI games, this will be a pretty quick play. I think overall the cases in this edition are simpler than the CSI:Las Vegas games. Note to parents: one of the cases is extremely sexual and not recommended for children.

I couldn't wait for this game to be made. I miss the character of Speedle played by Rory Cochrane. If you really like role-playing and solving whodunits than this is the game for you. Its like being on the show with the characters. I give it two thumbs up.

Honest reviews on CSI: Miami - PC

I bought this game at an electronics store for under $10. I spent about 15 hours total playing it and only had to look online for hints twice. The last case is very time consuming and probably the hardest, but case #2 is easy to get stuck on. I would go look in stores to see if you could find this game for cheaper, but if not, I'd say it's worth $20!

This was probably one of, if not, THE coolest games I've ever played. It is so well made. Graphics are good, stories are cool, just the right challenge level. It's just awesome.

Now I haven't played the first game although it's next on my list, so I can't verify or counter the other peoples' statements about it being too formulaic, like the first one. But I just had an awesome time with this game. I just couldn't keep away. I played it constantly and beat it in two days. I'm not saying it didn't have enough gameplay hours; they were probably sufficient. But I was just hooked and I played it all the time. The extras that you can unlock are pretty cool too.

And what an ending! The ending to the last case is awesome. I won't reveal any more, but what a surprise! Now, it's highly unlikely, but hey, this is drama. It's a cool story anyway.

If you are interested in crime, crime scene investigation, or forensics, this game is definitely for you!

I have 3 out of the 4 and it works fine on my Wii portal. I haven't tried it on anything else but they don't really do anything just follow you around looking cute. Of course I didn't pay that much for them just shipping from the Frito-Lay Offer. So I wouldn't recommend wasting that much money for them.

They're cute as hell but from the information you gave me they're not worth hundreds.

Besides there is very little information on these figures, other than just how rare they are!

I'd like to know if these little guys can work on all consoles or just the DS version.

N what exactly do they do in the game? Do they help me battle enemies? Up my stats?

Or do they just sit around and look cute?!

Give us some information here!

If your going to sell it for that price, I expect nothing more than pure all-around awesomeness!

Reviews of Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Nukem 3D
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

Duke Nukem, while nothing more than a mindless shoot'em-up, is perhaps the best of its kind. It has a very fast engine! It runs very smoothly even on my relatively old computer and using the full screen. The scenery is more realistic than the dungeons of Quake and Unreal. Instead, you're fighting in the city with grovery stores, subways, sewers, and the occassional nuclear facility.

The foul language, sexual induendo, and rude comments can be funny, but for those concerned about young minds, you can turn it off and keep it off with a password. The surround sound effects are engaging, especially if you have a good set of stereo speakers or headphones.

The game also has the capability of multi=player gaming with computer-controlled players, but they are very fast. It is supposed to be useful for testing user-created maps, but they can prevent a real challenge.

The Duke gets my endorsement, especially for the speed, sound, and real-world setting.

Our man Duke is back again, confronting aliens with an array of hand-wielded weapons, fighting his way to the next level. The gratuitous violence is extremely cathartic, especially if you've had to deal with a lawyer anytime within the past 12 hours. An interesting aspect is that whenever Duke lands in one of these many scenarios, he immediately becomes a target for attack. There's an alien waiting there, simply to kill Duke, and that alien will do so if Duke does nothing. It it completely irrational, the way these aliens attack. I attempted to use the Duke character in a more tolerant way -I envisioned him asking about the aliens, "Why do they hate me?" I looked for an option wherein Duke could form a coalition involving the United Nations, and dispatch inspectors -and if that proved ineffective, give the inspectors more time. (Nothing will deter an alien from killing you like being faced with an inspector who has been given more time!) I worked with the controls to make Duke more sensitive, tolerant and diverse... but the aliens simply killed him. It turned out that Duke would always get killed if he did nothing, if he did anything other than kill the aliens first. It appears that when an alien is determined to kill you, then the only intelligent action in the world is to kill him first, and keep your own life and future intact. I bet I know who Duke Nuken votes for.

Best Deals for Duke Nukem 3D

If Quake is too dark and brooding, come over to Duke and have a little fun! "Come get some!"

Duke is a fun, fun, fun way to shoot your way through the bad guys. Innovative weaponss, innovative bad guys. You get trip bombs, pipe bombs, and the usual pistol, shotgun, chain gun, RPG, etc. But how about a freeze ray, where you can freeze and then shatter them? How about using a shrink ray, and then chasing them down to stomp them?

Note: If you want to share this game with kids, but you're a believer that kids should have their violence without sexual innuendo, you may want to use the game's option settings to turn off the suggestive comments, leaving you most of the humor and all the violence without the deliciously funny sexual humor. Or, if you're an adult, enjoy! (Stick a dollar in the dancing girl's briefs...)

Have fun, and enjoy!

NOTE!! This is an old classic game -(c) 1996 -says it needs a 486, or even a Pentium computer! It wants DOS to run. It may run under Windows, but I haven't gotten it to.

On the other hand, the creators are taking FOREVER to make a first-person shooter sequal (Not done and no release date, as of end of 2002), so this is your only choice. The other Duke games out there are side-scrollers, and/or made by other companies under license. Buy this one while waiting for the next real release.

Buyers beware when buying this game. The product specs claim that it is for Windows, and Linux and Mac, but in reality it is not. The game itself does not work on a windows system, and the product specs on the box clearly say that it will not work on windows being that it is a DOS game.

Needless to say I am out shipping costs because people falsely advertise this product.

Just a side note, I have played the game and I am able to set it up on windows 7 though with a ton of trouble. Cheap Avatar - Xbox 360

Avatar - Xbox 360
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
Avatar is a solid gaming experience. There is absolutely nothing in this game that keeps it from being a lot of fun. The graphics are spectacular and the story is quite compelling. The Na'vi and RDA campaigns play like completely separate experiences which surprised me. They take place in different sectors of Pandora and each one is distinct. Playing as an Avatar, you tower over the humans and the plant life. As a human you are dwarfed by the plant life, Na'vi, and animals. The RDA campaigns really give you a sense of how hostile the environment is.

I have played through all of the Na'vi campaigns and over half of the RDA campaigns and I feel that the RDA campaigns are definitely harder. One of the nice things about Avatar, though, is that it is not a hard game by any means. You don't die much and you shouldn't have to play any of the segments multiple times to succeed. This may irritate hard core gamers but as a less skilled player, I consider it a plus.

Avatar is a good game but with a little more polish and a few adjustments it could have been steller. While the graphics are solid, there are still a few occasional glitches. In the later campaigns there is a little "drop-in" from time to time and throughout the game AI controlled Na'vi and RDA soldiers will appear from a long distance as featureless moving dolls. Then when you get closer the details will snap on. This is hard to explain but when developers make a game the character models are like fleshed out stick figures with a "skin" added later. It was weird and mildly irritating during the game to see characters moving around in the distance as little white figures and then once you got just a bit closer, "pop," now the details. The only other glitch and one common in many games is that some AI controlled characters would get stuck running in place against some of the scenery and once I saw an arrow get stuck in midair. Also the dragon like creatures the Na'vi fly called Banshees are sometimes seen perching in midair. No big deal but silly nonetheless.

Speaking of AI. Sometimes the enemy AI (wheter Na'vi or RDA depending on which side you play) is dumb as a stick and other times so clever you have a hard time staying alive. I would have preferred the AI to be better thought out. The developers should have either started the AI out as pretty stupid and then gradually smarter as you progressed through the game or make it class specific. For example, some the Na'vi tribes would be smarter or tougher than others with variations within tribes depending on ranks and on the RDA the AI could be assigned based on rank (grunts, commandos, elites, etc.) Either approach would be better than what was actually done.

The controls, weapons, skills, and vehicles are pretty well thought out but a few changes would have made them more fun. Both sides can equip 4 weapons and 4 skills at a time. However, each side has one default that you cannot swap. The RDA has twin pistols with infinite ammo that are almost useless and the Na'vi has a bow. Now the bow is a great weapon that you will probably use regularly throughout the Na'vi campaigns so it isn't really a problem but the pistols are a wasted slot. When you play as the RDA you need all the firepower you can muster. The skills are good but unlike the advertising there isn't 60 weapons and 20 skills. You have a handful of weapons and skills with 4 automatic upgrades for each one as you gain in experience points. The Na'vi have 6 weapons and if you count each upgrade you technically get 24 but they are not really that different just more powerful. The Na'vi have 9 skills and the upgrades bring you up to 36. The RDA have 8 weapons and 7 skills. Each side has a sprinting skill but a dedicated standard sprint would have been nice. The left joystick button isn't used so they could have made that the sprint which would have been nice. The RDA vehicle controls work just fine although the AMP suit is not much help if you get swarmed by Na'vi because they are so much faster. The suit gets destroyed in seconds and if you don't get clear of the blast you're toast. Also, I don't understand why when you run over the Na'vi they aren't killed. Usually there is minor damage if anything. The animal controls are okay but it would have been nice if they could have figured out a way for you to use weapons while riding. Also, it is hard to land the Banshees even when it looks like a spot has room. You keep pressing "Y" but the stupid thing won't land. This is major irritation.

Two final things that I can think of at moment that could have used some improving is the campaign structure towards the end of the game and enemy spawning. The last Na'vi campaign seemed rushed. In the rest of the campaigns the quests were spread out across the maps in such a way that you would have explored most of the map by the time you finished the sector. To complete everything I had to go back after I beat the game and explore the rest of the map. The developers clearly got in a hurry and I am curious to see if the final RDA campaign is structured the same way. A big improvement would have been to completely separate the campaigns. This would have aided the replay factor big time. What I mean here is that you have to play the opening sequence twice if you want to play both the Na'vi and RDA campaigns. You start out as an RDA soldier and after you are transferred to your Avatar body you come to a point where you have to choose sides. Take one route and you stick with the RDA and lose your Avatar, take the other and you turn on the RDA and remain in your Avatar body. It works as a story but it is boring to have to do the same stuff twice in order to get the point where you can take the route you didn't take the first time round.

Now regarding enemy spawning. Sometimes you clear an area and then you have to travel a ways before the enemy respawns. Other times they respawn so quick you have to sprint away to get clear. Also, sometimes the enemy follows you until you kill them and other times enough distance gets you clear. I would have much preferred a less haphazard approach. No respawning until you replay a sector would have made much more sense.

The multiplayer is okay. I am not a big multiplayer fan and I cannot see where this game breaks any new ground in this mode. I haven't tried the conquest mini game yet but I suspect it some kind of RTS game.

In conclusion, all quibbles aside, you can't go wrong with this game. It is interesting and fun at the same time. Buy it sooner or later.

This game was actually a whole lot of fun. It's not an extremely difficult game but challenging enough, which I like because I'm more of a casual gamer. The graphics are great, but don't expect it to look as amazing as the movie did. Never the less they are still very good. What I like about this game is that at a certain point you must make a choice of what side to take. The RDA or the Navi. This makes it two different games that are both a great deal of fun. I had a lot of fun playing this game and recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the film and wants more excitement from the world of Pandora.

First off i'll state by saying that Avatar is a third person shooter, nothing more nothing less. But, Gears of War, and Lost Planet(which this game compares a lot to, in gameplay terms) is exactly what they are. You see the enemy, shoot, kill, collect items, reach checkpoints, rid in vehicles, do missions. Avatar is just that, the one thing that makes this game stand out among the others is its shear beauty, and atmosphere, i mean the graphics are just second to none especially on the PC version. The detailing Ubisoft put into this game in working along side James Cameron himself is just stellar, and you find yourself just wanting to take in the sights, even though theres really not much time for it. Basically anything that moves(plants, spores, strange explosive type flowers) are considered your enemy and you gain points and ugrgades from doing so. The enemies are quite unique also to say the least, the hammerhead creature is a favorite of mine, and towers over you much like a giant Jurassic creature straight from the movies, and is so realistic you nearly wet yourself. Most of the animals other than that are pretty easy to kill, the vyperwolfs however run amuck allll over the place and can be difficult to aim down. Many reviews have dogged not only the game but also the aiming accuracy, which isnt true, you just have to be quicker than your opponent, and i guess they just stink at shooting things. Also many critics have said how bad moving around in vehicles is, this i just don't get, i think they are just as good as Halo, or Gears or anything else you do battle in machines. The mechs remind you a lot of lost planet, as do a lot of the collection of items from killing foliage. Its also fun to play as the Na'vi or however you spell it, although most of your killing consists of bow shooting, and melee with a giant club, its still pretty solid for battle. Even though i myself prefer the marines. So by all means if you have the money and want to spend it, and are a fan of Lost Planet, or Gears of War, then pick this up, of course just because of the popularity and selling status of those large titles, is the reason the average rating for this game was 6.5. Don't listen to critics, check out that most actual, "players" of the game gave it an 8.6, and you should listen to people who play the game all the way through, not critics who play it once for a while and judge it based on there opinion because it doesnt sell hugely. They call it repetitive i call it innovative and a good source for fun in the strange land of Pandora, quite a beautiful creative place. And hey it beats just going around killing zombies, and waiting for more to do the same when your done, hmm isnt that repetition? Yep.

NOTE:If you have the gear get it on PC, this version looks stellar, but on PC with direct x 10 and ultra high settings it just looks Godly.:D

Honest reviews on Avatar - Xbox 360

This game is pure awesome! I can't really explain it that well, but i can say that it is DEFINITELY worth buying!

Some details

------------

* You can choose to be RDA, or Na'vi.

* The game's storyline is not based on the movie. It's more of a prequel.

* VERY Detailed scenery.

* Conquest mode is an easier way to take over territory.

It would have been a 5/5 from me, but i knocked off a star because the animations, movements, and interactions could have been Way better.

Would I buy this game: No

Would I rent it again: Definitely not

Would I recommend someone rent this: sure, its not terrible but its nothing great either

Its a third person shooter with a few gimmicks tacked on like leveling and skills, but that's about it. Each level you usually get a new weapon to choose from and a new skill, but after playing for about 4 hours and leveling up several times you realize that leveling up isn't really that much of an improvement. The things I like least about this game are that the enemies are really tiny on the screen so you can't see very much detail on them, the controls and perspective make shooting difficult, and enemies will insta-spawn after you kill a group in an area (this really just takes away from the experience of immersion in-game when four enemies suddenly appear).

Some reviews have said this game is gorgeous. I disagree. There is a lot of detail in the environment but its sorta grainy looking; just not a really smooth look to the environment. I would call this game about average in terms of its graphics compared to other titles.

The game itself is kinda fun, but so far its been a lot of scavenger quests or go-somewhere-and-turn-something-on quests. Oh, and did I mention that it is quest based. The world does seem to be open for exploration, but what exactly you find out exploring is a good question. The quests have all been linear with no side quests so far.

On an up note there is a strategy type game which is kinda fun to play; I've gotten very bored of the main shooter story and I've been playing the strategy game since its more involved and requires a little more thought. Don't get me wrong, I like a good shooter, this just doesn't seem to be one of them.

The Alpha Anthology, is so far the best port of any Street Fighter collection. It includes five games (SF Alpha, Alpha 2, Alpha 2 Gold, Alpha 3, and Gem Fighter), as well as two unlockable games (Hyper SF Alpha and a "bonus" version of SF Alpha 3).

The graphics and music of the five titles are perfect, just like the original arcade games themselves. If you have a wide-aspect ratio TV, you'll be treated to full arcade goodness if not, you can modify the aspect ratio so that it fits a standard TV. Controls are also flawless, much like those of the Anniversary Collection.

The unlockable games are as follows:

"bonus" SF Alpha 3: It's SF Alpha 3 with more fighting styles, and all (most?) the Street Fighter characters, drawn Alpha-style. This includes characters that have never before made it into Alpha games like Balrog and Fei Long, and some that are brand new. When played alone, this game is very difficult.

Hyper SF Alpha: Very similar to SF Alpha 3 (in fact, I'm not sure what the exact differences are, in terms of gameplay), but can only be played against another opponent. Includes the same characters as "bonus" SFA3.

In addition, all Alpha games include a Versus mode with full win/loss tallying, a Dramatic Battle mode in which two players (Human/Human or Human/CPU) simultaneously take on a single CPU player and a Survival mode, which places you against opponent after opponent, refilling only a portion of your life bar after each match.

To sum it up, the Alpha Anthology is the best SF collection Capcom has released. Here's to hoping that the Darkstalkers and Marvel series will follow a similar suit.

The Street Fighter Alpha series has always been a fun variation on the tried and true Street Fighter series. The game play here is on level with with pretty much all of the other SF games (Capcom has rarely failed to live up to the expectations they have been shouldered with after creating such an amazing franchise) so there's nothing to worry about here.

The reason this game gets a 3 star rating instead of a 4 or 5 is because of the content they have included and excluded. Capcom has already shown that they know how to do a proper anthology set with both the Mega Man anthology and the Street Fighter anthology. However, with SSAA, there is no promo material to view, no real extras at all. All you get are more characters, more game modes that vary only the slightest bit from all of the other games.

The largest disappointment is the lack of a World Tour mode in Street Fighter Alpha 3. The original console releases for PSX and Saturn included a gameplay addition called World Tour mode, which allowed you to travel the globe fighting different opponents but under specific challenging circumstances. You might face two Guiles, and only be able to hurt them with special attacks, or need to get a perfect when facing a rush of Rolentos in order to advance. This was not only a great way to practice and hone your skill outside of arcade mode and training, but also allowed you to power up and further customize your character, save it and use it in regular matches.

Instead of including this or any promo material, or worthwhile bonuses we are given hidden versions of the game that are absolutely meaningless. Instead of simply including the extra characters in the original game, or giving us fighting style options, they provide two games that are incredibly superfluous. One is Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, which is SFA3, with a few more characters (who could have easily been included in the original SFA3) as well as Hyper Street Fighter Alpha. HSFA does exactly what I suggested earlier, in that it allows you to switch playing style between the 3 games. The fact that an entire extra game was included because of this is a waste.

Ultimately, this is a great collection. The games are fun. The characters are a blast and interesting. The art direction is superb and the graphics hold up surprisingly well for a 2d fighter. The mechanics of the game are wonderful to learn and utilize and it would take you months to "master" the entire roster of characters. While I realize this seems like a very negative review, the game is absolutely wonderful. However, I can not hide my dissapointment with their failure to do the Alpha series justice, like were able to successfully do with Mega Man and SSFII.

Best Deals for Street Fighter Alpha Anthology - PlayStation 2

My favorite game in the entire catalog of games available across all consoles and arcade machines is Street Fighter Alpha 3. My PSOne copy was one of my most prized possessions and unfortunately for me, it got stolen and I immediately sought a replacement. Of course, nowadays getting a good copy of SFA3 is challenging in many respects so in my search I stumbled upon Street Fighter Alpha Anthology. This discovery led to the following comparison points:

1) This is a much cheaper alternative than the original PSOne version of SFA3 and of course, it is new.

2) This is a PS2 game, which offers better compatibility with my PS2 Slim. I play some old-school PSOne games on that console and sometimes it has a little trouble reading the older disks.

3) The PS2 disk has several of my favorite fighting games piled together.

THE OLD STUFF WE LOVE.

The characters have not changed their appearance at all in each of the corresponding games in the disk and their moves have remained intact. Also, the timing and rhythm of the fights is the exact same found in the original releases of the games featured. Costume changes, secret characters and levels, cheats, character stages, super combo finish screens, game options, among other goodies we love from the old games are there. Most of the original music is featured except in SFA2, where in some levels the music is the same but with different sounds and this is not a big deal at all. The story-lines, the rivalries, and the character endings are the same as in the original games as well.

SURPRISES?!

Yes, some things have changed. If I am good at any game, it would be any of the games in the Alpha series so believe me when I spot little differences from the original in terms of gameplay, artificial intelligence, graphics, music, you name it. Across all games, the first thing you notice is how much more difficult it is to fight the CPU than in the original games. Even at the highest difficulty I was able to dominate the CPU except a few characters (Shin Akuma, Evil Ryu, and sometimes Zangief) in my PSOne version of Alpha 3 for instance. In Anthology, every round is a struggle for survival and a great challenge and I love it. I haven't felt so challenged by a fighting game in a long time and this increased difficulty is quite delightful. Also delightful is the amount of game modes you can unlock to eventually get all the game modes featured in all of the original games and more (such as the Hyper Street Fighter Zero, Dramatic Battle Survival Mode, among others). Ironically, most of the changes have been done in the latest installment of the series, SFA3. I am sorry to say that the World Tour Mode is gone and with it, the ability to customize your character and use it in battle. Also gone are the vital stats of each character (weight, height, age, etc.) shown when you select your favorite in the original release...very sad because I liked that feature but I'll get over it. In an effort to simplify the game a little bit, the health bar is now of only one solid color (remember how in Alpha 2 and 3 the health bar when full spans from green to yellow?...now it is solid yellow), which is ok with me. The animation for each of the hits onscreen has changed across all games, making each of the hits more noticeable with a starburst effect when they land on the opponent whether he/she is guarding or not (this is a cool improvement I think because the hits look more dramatic). Some of the entrance animations of some of the characters have changed slightly but in a good way, giving the characters a fresher look right before the fight.

Am I happy? Absolutely. This is an excellent compilation of games which features classic fighting action, more challenging gameplay for advanced players and wonderful VS action for those occasions when your friend needs to be taught a lesson.

Like the alpha series? Get this. Very straightforward arcade ports, but just scads of fun to play. I feel the SF series hit it's peak with these games, cool characters, varied fighting styles, and tight, strategic gameplay.

The pets expansion was the one I have been looking forward to since the launch of The Sims 3. And rightly so, it is very fun and the pets are more versatile than in The Sims 2. It is unfortunate that the key code for The Sims 3 install were incorrect. Do not bother calling customer support. Here are some keys for the base game that work:

Game is fun and arrived quickly, but major headache with the game registration codes. The registration codes included with the "Sims 3 + Pets Expansion" version give you installation errors and prevent you from finishing installation of either disc. This is detailed in a 10/18/2011 post on the Sims 3 website

Talking to EA's online help requires you to provide all 3 keys for the game (Sims 3, Pets, and Exclusive Content) to get new ones. They also require you to sign and date the original Sims 3 and Pets registration code pages, scan them, send them to EA support, and send a copy of your Amazon receipt. Signing the registration key page might cause problems if you need to return the game to Amazon if your replacement keys also don't work.

EA online support personnel were very unfriendly and unapologetic about the situation, which is very surprising given that the defective keys are EA's issue to begin with.

Bottom line: fun game, but be prepared to spend over an hour with online support trying to get working CD keys. It's a fun game otherwise.

When you try to install the game you are prompted to enter a serial code that is included with the instruction booklet. Upon doing so, it told me that the serial code was invalid and would not allow me to continue with the installation. On my first attempt to contact customer service, I was disconnected after waiting on hold for over 45 minutes. My second attempt to get help with this issues also resulted in failure, I was on hold for almost 3 hours and the battery in my phone died before I was connected to a customer service rep. I've read many posts on various websites from people who have experienced the same problem. Even if you do manage to get the game installed, which seems to be quite the accomplishment, there are many glitches that drastically affect game play. The Sims is a great series, but until they get some of these issues sorted out I can't recommend that anyone purchase this title. Paying customers deserve a little bit better than this. I'm very disappointed because I was really looking forward to this game. :(

Update: After several failed attempts to get the issue resolved with EA customer support, I had almost given up and written this purchase off as a loss. I decided however, to try them just once more and was very pleasantly surprised at the results. On my final attempt to contact EA games, I was almost instantly connected to a customer service rep who helped me resolve the issue within minutes over the phone, and was even given a code for a discount towards my next EA purchase. Although I was very frustrated at first, EA did a good job in the end and has restored my faith in the company. The game itself is running fine on my computer and I haven't experienced any bugs or problems with it. In fact, I recently purchased the "Ambitions" expansion and had no issues with the installation of that game either.

So, I just got this game today and happened to get on amazon to read reviews about it before I opened it. I tried using the codes that came with the game for installation, and they didn't work like everyone was saying. I googled solutions to the problem and found a website that said to use the red Pet store insert that came in the box to download the pets expansion pack, and it worked. They said you can also use the code for its intended purpose. Hope this helped :)

WARNING: code does not work. Please read the other review that has all the codes in it. Use one of those, and the games install fine.

As for the gameplay, it was enjoyable but confusing to me. I've been playing the sims 2 for years now, and I've always more than enjoyed the games. I was a little late on the ball getting this one, and frankly, it was a bit of an impulse buy. I wasn't too crazy about it at all.

The want system, and the careers, and the faster draining needs drove me up the wall! I felt like there was so much going on at once that it tired me out! You have to be following every sim every second, or they'll do something crazy like... go cheat on their wife with a man out of the blue! Very frustrating for me.

Perhaps, with time, it will get easier to do the deranged multitasking this game requires, but until then i will be diluting my sims 3 playtime with the far less hectic sims 2, where a 6 person household seems calmer than a 2 person sims 3 household.

I bought this backpack recently, and it suits my needs. It is big enough to carry 4 controllers, 360 console, all wires, and if you put your games in some sort of sleeve, it will fit. Overall the appearance is decent, although i did wish that they had an actual pocket for putting controllers, i had to place 3 in the outer most pocket, and 1 in the main pocket, which im sure is an improvisation.

Discount Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3

Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I ran into a few problems with the Ion Drum Rocker right out of the box.

First off, the sensitivity of the cymbals are about 65-75% of where they should be. If you're at an expert level, you'll definitely see the difference when you're hitting drum rolls on the high hat (middle of Everlong, YYZ, etc.). Second, you have to hit the cymbal a little harder than usual, which increases arm fatigue. Third, the cymbals are quite loud (not as loud as the RB1 drums, but damn near) in comparison to the tom toms. You can purchase aftermarket cymbals (several available for purchase online & amazon.com!) that would work extremely better.

The bass pedal is also an issue. Sturdy, but it is prone to sticking at the bottom. The pedal is also prone to static issues which cause the entire drum set to disconnect (

Also, my drum module was triggering buttons sporatically (due to a manufacturer defect), but a replacement from amazon.com is on the way to my home.

In conclusion, the Ion Drum Rocker could've been a great drum set, but there were a few quirks that keeps it from greatness. You can get replacements for your cymbals($40-50 a piece) and also the Rock Pedal(great buy for your aspiring fake drum career :D); but it retrospect, you shouldn't have to spend money to upgrade equipment after just spending bucks. Do your research!!!

I ordered these on December 9th (in the evening) and thanks to a free trial of Amazon Prime, I got it shipped next day for just $3.99. Anyway I received them today and......WOW!!!! This peripheral single-handedly has made Rock Band FUN again!!! It's a completely different experience than the standard drum kit. The symbols add a level of realism that could not come close to being achieved with the standard kit. There is a learning curve, as the symbols will confuse you at times (when to hit them vs when to use the regular pads,) but it's fun figuring it out! The kick pedal is very good (way better than the one that comes with Rock Band and Rock Band 2, but not as good as the Omega Pedal.) It does take a while, took me about 30 minutes, to set up out of the box. There are wires going everywhere, one from each drum pad/symbol, to a central hub but you can zip-tie the cords up so it doesn't look like a rats nest. The kit can be set up to your liking as all the drum pads and the symbols are move-able. The pads themselves are more quiet and give more "bounce" than the rock band kit as well. Over all this is a very good drum kit, I have been playing Rock Band for almost 1 year, got to the point where I could play about 1/2 of the 250+ songs on expert so I have put a lot of time in on the old kit. I love the Drum Rocker and am looking forward to hours and hours of fun using it!!! The BEST kit on the market for playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero World Tour!

Best Deals for Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3

In a nutshell, this is a fantastic electronic drum kit for Rock Band. It's worth picking up if you have skill and the drums and want to advance to the next level.

Some notes before starting out:

When I compare the Ion Drum Rocker to the standard Rock Band kit, I am referring to the original R.B. drum kit, not the R.B.2 kit

I have the Rock Pedal (which works for this kit with a simple 1/8 to 1/4 adapter) and will not discuss the pedal that comes with this kit (though it seems more responsive than the standard pedal)

I have been a "Rock Band drummer" for about 10 months, and can play roughly 75% of the songs on Expert

Let me explain some specifics about this kit via a pros/cons list:

PROS

1) Drum pad placement. Lots of flexibility to move drums pads around--change the angle, height, and placement on the bar. You can set the four pads to wherever is most comfortable for you. The L-shaped rod under each pad gives you some flexibility in height.

2) Noise reduction. The drum pads are much quieter than the standard Rock Band kit. (There are some YouTube videos that demonstrate this, and it is a noticeable difference.)

3) Sensitive pads. The drum pads are velocity sensitive and also have more 'bounce' to them than the standard kit.

4) Easy adjustments. The kit comes with a drum key (an allen wrench, really) that lets you make every adjustment that needs to be made.

5) Cymbals. Come on, you really want this to have the cymbals, right? :> The cymbals are also quiet and really add to your enjoyment when playing. It also makes you focus more closely on what's going on in the music (not just blinding hitting the blue pad without noticing whether you're hitting a tom or a ride cymbal).

CONS

1) Cymbal placement. Well, it's okay, but you're a bit more limited when it comes to placement and angle. The kit comes with a short (~12") bar and a longer (~24"-30") bar, so you have some flexibility in height. The drums give you more freedom of placement.

2) Ships with two cymbals. You can order the third for $50, though.

3) No option for a fourth, or "red" cymbal. Some songs ("Run to the Hills" or "Rio" amongst others) have you hit the red pad as a cymbal, but there's no option to plug a cymbal into a "red" input. Not a huge problem, just a tad annoying (I'm actually more annoyed at the RB programmers for ever turning the red snare drum into a cymbal!).

4) Bigger/Bulkier than the original RB kit. Or maybe this is a con. :> It's not too much bigger, but it is heavier and a little trickier to move.

As a sidenote, I have not had any problems with the cymbals dropping 'fast' notes (mine are set to Ride/Blue and Crash/Green currently, so I haven't tried the Hi-Hat/Yellow).

Overall, the pros vastly outweigh the cons. These seem to be very high-quality drums, and it adds to the challenge of drumming when you have to differentiate between cymbals and toms when you're playing! If you are really into Rock Band drumming, I highly recommend this kit.

Honest reviews on Ion IED08 Drum Rocker Premium Drum Set - Playstation 3

I was beginning to think I was the only one, but I have begun to see more and more comments about other peoples problems with ION customer service and the drum kit... here goes mine.

I got the Ion DrumRocker for PS3 which didn't get released until December. I picked it up the first day it was available, only to have the bracket on the Red drumpad break when tightening, since it is only cheap plastic (again, something meant to be hit hard with a stick should be better constructed). This was not due to over-tightening as the customer service guy tried to suggest since I tightened all of my pads the same way and only had this one break. In addition, both of the cymbals were only registering 50-70% of the time and only when hit VERY hard. I went online and filled out the only form I could find for customer service and didn't get a call within two days. I did more searching and finally found a number (not toll free) to call. When I called, they acted like they were doing ME a favor by allowing me to return the product. They said they were going to send a UPS shipping label by email and that I would get it in two days. Two days later, no shipping label, so I called again, they said they would resend it. Two more days, no label, called again, said they would try a different email address. Two more days, no label. Now they say they will print out a label and send it to me by mail. This went on past through Christmas, and into January and I still did not have a shipping label. Finally, mid-January, after talking to 10 different people and spending hours on the phone, I finally have a label. I send it in and cross my fingers. Three weeks go by and I have not heard anything. I call. They I give them the RA# and serial# of my drum set and my name. They tell me that unless I have the Tracking number of the package, they can't tell me what's going on with my repair. Remember now... THEY printed the shipping label... THEY issued the RA#... and now THEY have no idea what's going on with MY merchandise!! I ask to speak with a manager and after arguing with the guy he transfers me to a voice mail service, so I leave a message and ask for a call back..... Any guesses if I got a call back? One week later (now nearly the end of February, two and a half months after the set was broken) I call again and demand that someone find out where my merchandise is. The guy finally tells me that there's a backlog of repairs and that they did receive my broken parts, but that I wouldn't get replacements until late March or early April -FOUR to FIVE MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED AND REPORTED THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT!!!!! I voiced my frustration saying that I'm sure they are filling new orders for drum kits that were placed well after my repair was requested and meanwhile those of us with problems are left out our $300 and without a working product. He tells me a sob story (which I'm sure is a lie) about how he bought a drum rocker kit for his daughter for christmas and it was broken and he still doesn't have a replacement and his daughters ask him every day why santa brought them a broken toy.... oh, woe is me... my poor deprived imaginary daughter without her drumrocker... whatever will I do?

Just when you thought it was over... I decided to use the Ion Drumrocker kick pedal with my stock RockBand kit using an adapter (I like the DrumRocker pedal better) and within 4 songs, the trigger switch in the pedal broke (the same problem described in the first post). Now I've gotten another RA# and shipped off another part from my ION kit, probably not to be seen for another 5 months.....

This review may get too detailed for the average user, but if you're like me, you want to know everything there is to know.

The first thing I need to mention is that the static issue is a serious problem. While playing on carpet, eventually static builds up and causes the Ion's module to disconnect with PS3 halting your fun mid-song. This can happen several times each song. Check the internet there are some solutions to isolate the pedal and stand by using fabric softener sheets lol! Luckily I accidentally stumbled upon the BEST way to fix this problem. Take an extra 1/4" patch cord, plug one end into the Ion module and let the other end dangle on the carpet. This will ground the module and there will be no way for any static to build up and discharge. Once I discovered this trick, I never lost connection again.

For a Rock Band replacement drum set, this set is AWESOME. If you're already good at RB, these will make you even better. If you don't get 100% accuracy at the end of a song, it's NOT the drums' fault, is YOUR fault. The responsiveness of the drum pads is pure heaven. They bounce back and make drum rolls a breeze. They are nice and quiet for small home or apartment use. The stand is very sturdy and excellent quality. Everything is easily adjustable to put the pads where you like. It's true what others wrote about portability. Tear-down and set up is not easy. Luckily I have space in my house and everything stays together and simply moved to the corner.

Bass pedal very mediocre. I started with Guitar Hero and quickly upgraded to a much higher quality kicker and loved it, so I don't like the pedal style at all. It is playable, but you may want to upgrade. If you do, be careful because although the Ions advertise that you'll be ready to move up to professional electronic drumming at any time because their drums are just like real electronic drums that's not entirely true. Although their pads are like real e-drums, the bass pedal is not. Ion's bass pedal is digital in other words on or off. And that's the signal the Ion's drum module is expecting. If you upgrade to a real bass drum kicker, it puts out an analog signal basically identical to the rest of the pads in this kit. But the Ion module cannot read an analog signal for this input. You'll need to buy a small device that converts the signal.

Cymbals here I can't give as good of a review. The cymbals sound like you're hitting a block of wood and the responsiveness isn't great. They're only moderately fun to play on and they're too loud, but that's not the real let down. I'm a Guitar Hero player 1st, and a Rock Band player 2nd, so if you like to play both, read on. I closely checked all the compatibility charts for GH and RB games, and every recent game supported Ion's drums. I mistakenly thought that the Ion drums would act just like the Guitar Hero World Tour drums (or Band Hero drums). They don't. The GH games will "dumb down" to only 4 lanes of drums just like you were playing RB. This was a huge disappointment to me because I like the added difficulty and realism of playing 5 drums plus a bass pedal as opposed to RB's 4 drums plus bass. The Ion drum module (the "brain") appears to have 8 inputs (1 bass pedal and 7 "drum" inputs). This is NOT the case for GH games. The module really only has 5 inputs: 1 bass pedal and 4 drums. The other 3 inputs are merely duplicates of 3 of the existing drums. They are simply wired in parallel so that a drum (or cymbal) hooked to either input produces exactly the same result. Conversely, in RB2 the cymbals do make a different sound during fills and in freestyle mode. A good thing is that in RB3, the Ions support the pro mode which means the cymbals are differentiated from the pads and you have to play the correct one. If you want to play on more realistic feeling cymbals, I recommend buying Ion's basic drum package and adding other cymbals that are more playable. Either way, there is no way to make GH work with 5 lanes unless you want to buy some extra and/or modded equipment. If you do, read on.

There are ways to play Guitar Hero games with 5 lanes as it was meant to be played, but you have to use extra equipment. There are forums out there to give all the details, but I'll sum it up quickly. You can use a real drum module from a set of real electronic drums by completely bypassing Ion's module. You plug the drums directly into the real drum module, then use the MIDI out from the drum module to the MIDI in on your Guitar Hero drums. If you've thrown out your GH drums, you can buy just the modules (and/or the wireless dongles) on internet auction sites. Do your homework before actually buying a real drum module because the module will need to have reprogrammable MIDI channels so that the GH module gets the correct signal. If the MIDI notes cannot be reprogrammed, you'll need yet another piece of hardware that is made strictly to re-map MIDI notes.

The second way is to just get the MIDI box that accepts drum pad signals, and outputs (re-programmable) MIDI signals. These boxes are much cheaper than true drum modules because they aren't capable of outputting any sounds, only MIDI signals.

The third way is to buy a modded Guitar Hero drum module or mod one yourself. You can make the stock GH drum module accept input from the Ion's drum pads by putting 1/4" female jacks on the GH module and connecting them internally. Check forums for how to do this correctly.

Be warned that if you do use the Ion's to play GH, you CAN'T use Ion's bass pedal because it's digital. You'll have to use GH's stock pedal or some upgrade that's like a real kicker with an analog signal. Also be warned that Ion's drum pads output a VERY strong analog signal and can be too sensitive when used with a modded GH module. You can download a program to adjust the sensitivity of the GH module, but I've found that even at the absolute lowest setting, the pads are still too sensitive and you get false hits from vibrations from other pads. This can be fixed by attenuating each of the signals by using resistors, but that's even more modding!

The final part of this review is to talk about the most fun part to me. You can get rid of Ion's drum module and connect your Ion drums into a real electronic drum module and play along with either GH or RB. This can be done in practice mode, but if you want a real thrill, you can make it work inside a real game too. If you can program your drum module to re-map the MIDI notes, you can take the drum module's MIDI output and put it into Guitar Hero's MIDI input. Now your drums will register inside the game. You can then turn the volume down on the video game's drum track and then turn the volume up on your drums' amp or however you play your real electronic drums. Warning!!! This will make you realize how difficult it really is to drum. The video games have a (relatively) HUGE margin of error where you can strike a drum too early or too late and the music still plays perfectly. With this setup now the drums play exactly when you hit them. This is an extremely fun time. Even better is that you can keep adding more drums (like more cymbals and more toms) and map different drums to same colors making your drums still register in the game. It becomes much more like real drums.

If you're like me and spend too much on this type of video game, I have another suggestion for you. If you think you'll keep upgrading drums or adding lots of stuff, you'll be way ahead of the game if you just start with a real set of electronic drums. You can get basic kits for $500-$1000. I know it sounds like a lot, but trust me if you start with Ion's drums and keep upgrading and adding stuff you'll end up spending much more in the long run. Just realize that you're spending this money on a stand and 4 pads. The Ion module will become useless and the so will the cymbals when you upgrade. If you're going to stay with Rock Band and not go to real e-drums, this kit is awesome, but like I said before, skip the cymbals.

I personally think this is one of the worst games ever. The graphcis are good but the gameplay [is not good]. It takes too long to get a stunt started, landing after going off of big jumps is near impossible, and for some reason during the race, the computer racers are able to crash into you and then keep riding, where you fall and lose positions. Try the game though, see if you like it or not. Though most of my friends and I hate it.

This is my first Amazon.com review. The complete and utter unworthiness of this game is the motivation for this review. This game absolutely sucks. I bought it expecting "Excitebike 64" and then some, but this game does not come close. Don't even think of buying this game if you've played Excitebike 64, you'll be [angry]like me.

Okay, so this is my first review on a Game Cube game, but it ROCKS! I enjoyed the single player and multiplayer very much. I don't really see how this game got poor reviews. I played Motorcross madness for PC, and I think this is worlds BETTER! If you have a Gamecube, or a PS2 buy this and enjoy it!

This is a fun game but the graphics bite so if you where going to buy this you should wait a while. The game its self is pretty fun so if you don't care about graphics much then buy it.

I own 6 modded controllers, just wrote a review on the arctic tiger I bought from Geniusmods as well. Geniusmods controllers really are the best and I've had my fair share of trying out different controllers. This controller has more functions than my other Geniusmods modded controller, this has some extra add ons (like quickscope, auto spotting, and I think a few others). Everything about Geniusmods is professional. From the packaging, the manual, the craftsmanship, and the customer service 5 stars all around.

So now onto the actual controller itself. The look is sweet, I bought the arctic tiger to go with this and they are both amazing. This one has bullet buttons which I think really add to the look. In terms of functionality it is a little different since they are flat as opposed to the normal buttons but I think they're really cool :)

Mod is super fast. To be honest I haven't even had a chance to use all the features of the controller. I mostly just use rapid fire and drop shot and since I've gotten these two controllers my K2D ratio has skyrocketed. I never really snipe, but I tried quickscope out and I can see how it would really help out someone who snipes a lot, but I can't really speak to that as I haven't played around with it much. I tried the quick reload but it seems to not save too much time, I find that I do better without it since I can focus on my playing and just enable rapid fire and drop shot and go out and play.

Mod is super easy to use and the instructions are great. This mod was a little more expensive than the other one I bought (I think because of the extra features) but it was well worth the money. I did a lot of research on modded controllers and this proved to be the best bang for your buck. I priced a similar controller out on other sites and they wanted $400+, this one is a fraction of the price and is all I can ever want.

I highly recommend Geniusmods for all your controller needs. I am a customer for life and I can't wait to see what Geniusmods comes up with next. Keep up the good work!
