Reviews of Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Nukem, while nothing more than a mindless shoot'em-up, is perhaps the best of its kind. It has a very fast engine! It runs very smoothly even on my relatively old computer and using the full screen. The scenery is more realistic than the dungeons of Quake and Unreal. Instead, you're fighting in the city with grovery stores, subways, sewers, and the occassional nuclear facility.

The foul language, sexual induendo, and rude comments can be funny, but for those concerned about young minds, you can turn it off and keep it off with a password. The surround sound effects are engaging, especially if you have a good set of stereo speakers or headphones.

The game also has the capability of multi=player gaming with computer-controlled players, but they are very fast. It is supposed to be useful for testing user-created maps, but they can prevent a real challenge.

The Duke gets my endorsement, especially for the speed, sound, and real-world setting.

Our man Duke is back again, confronting aliens with an array of hand-wielded weapons, fighting his way to the next level. The gratuitous violence is extremely cathartic, especially if you've had to deal with a lawyer anytime within the past 12 hours. An interesting aspect is that whenever Duke lands in one of these many scenarios, he immediately becomes a target for attack. There's an alien waiting there, simply to kill Duke, and that alien will do so if Duke does nothing. It it completely irrational, the way these aliens attack. I attempted to use the Duke character in a more tolerant way -I envisioned him asking about the aliens, "Why do they hate me?" I looked for an option wherein Duke could form a coalition involving the United Nations, and dispatch inspectors -and if that proved ineffective, give the inspectors more time. (Nothing will deter an alien from killing you like being faced with an inspector who has been given more time!) I worked with the controls to make Duke more sensitive, tolerant and diverse... but the aliens simply killed him. It turned out that Duke would always get killed if he did nothing, if he did anything other than kill the aliens first. It appears that when an alien is determined to kill you, then the only intelligent action in the world is to kill him first, and keep your own life and future intact. I bet I know who Duke Nuken votes for.

If Quake is too dark and brooding, come over to Duke and have a little fun! "Come get some!"

Duke is a fun, fun, fun way to shoot your way through the bad guys. Innovative weaponss, innovative bad guys. You get trip bombs, pipe bombs, and the usual pistol, shotgun, chain gun, RPG, etc. But how about a freeze ray, where you can freeze and then shatter them? How about using a shrink ray, and then chasing them down to stomp them?

Note: If you want to share this game with kids, but you're a believer that kids should have their violence without sexual innuendo, you may want to use the game's option settings to turn off the suggestive comments, leaving you most of the humor and all the violence without the deliciously funny sexual humor. Or, if you're an adult, enjoy! (Stick a dollar in the dancing girl's briefs...)

Have fun, and enjoy!

NOTE!! This is an old classic game -(c) 1996 -says it needs a 486, or even a Pentium computer! It wants DOS to run. It may run under Windows, but I haven't gotten it to.

On the other hand, the creators are taking FOREVER to make a first-person shooter sequal (Not done and no release date, as of end of 2002), so this is your only choice. The other Duke games out there are side-scrollers, and/or made by other companies under license. Buy this one while waiting for the next real release.

Buyers beware when buying this game. The product specs claim that it is for Windows, and Linux and Mac, but in reality it is not. The game itself does not work on a windows system, and the product specs on the box clearly say that it will not work on windows being that it is a DOS game.

Needless to say I am out shipping costs because people falsely advertise this product.

Just a side note, I have played the game and I am able to set it up on windows 7 though with a ton of trouble. If you are interested in getting this game you should research how to set it up on a windows machine through the many blogs out there. The game is awesome to play and is tons of fun. The sarcasm, raunchyness, shooting and general mayham is beyond great!

The controller is great in almost every way. I like the offset/reverse thumbstick layout.

Pros:

Great look and appearance, I got this controller pretty much just for the fact that it's Batman related and made by Power A.

The buttons are responsive and I prefer the stiffer L2/R2 triggers.

The controller is wireless with no noticable lag or dead zones playing Batman AA, and has a built in rechargable battery.

The D Pad is also responsive and I had no issues selecting items in the diagonal directions.

It lights up, has some rubber on the grips, and includes an On/Off switch with a power save function.

Cons:

My only issue with this controller is the placement of the LED Color selection button and Battery Power Indicator button being located inline with the Start and Select buttons. If you use this controller to play any other games, that use those buttons some what often, you will find yourself switching the LED Colors randomly when you try to pause the game, or you will be constantly checking the battery power level (no biggie there), unless you look down at the controller to find the buttons.

Pros

This controller feels similar to xbox 360 controller for anyone who like's that layout.

The batarang controller has 7 LED colors you can choose from.

The controller feels Great and very natural too grip on and the Buttons are accurate.

Cons

But Using The batarang controller on Arkham City, MW2, Uncharted 2, I felt some delay on the right analog stick when I was playing.

So I switch back with the Dualshock 3 to compare it was way better and accurate.

And with the batarang controller you can't turn ON the console with the controller but you can turn OFF the system.

So Overall it's 3/5 stars for me

It's worth a try if your looking for a 360 controller for an alternative.

but I would say just stick with the Dualshock 3 if you want your controller accurate.

I've been playing with this controller for a few days now, and I have to say I like it very much. It feels good in the hands even with playing for long periods of time. It has a very solid feel, and I like the sculpt of the grips. The triggers (L2 & R2) are also very good, certainly much better than those on the standard PS3 controller. All of the shoulder buttons, as well as the D-pad, have a texture to them that's a little more noticeable than the texture on Sony's controllers, which I also like. The D-pad is serviceable and is better than the standard XBox360's D-pad, but not as good as the standard PS3. The lights on the controller certainly look cool, but I play with them turned off because I find it annoying to have a colored light shining in the periphery of my vision.

The main problem with the controller comes from the analog sticks. They do have a dead zone. Reading the other reviews, I was expecting a much larger dead zone than the controller has. Personally, I wasn't bothered too much with this issue. I think that the quality of your experience with this controller will largely depend on the types of games you play. For most strategy, role-playing, and general action games, this controller will work great. However, if you play many games that require great precision and very small adjustments of the analog sticks, such as driving games and first-person shooters, you might want to pass on this controller. I definitely would NOT suggest buying this controller for use in any kind of competitive play. For general gaming, though, it's great.

Honest reviews on Batarang Wireless Controller for PS3

I got the controller and charged it fully before trying to play with it. It wont work unless I have it plugged in at all times. It says fully charged but as soon as I unplug it, it shuts down. I recommend it as a collector's item, not as a useful controller.

This is by far the best controller I've ever owned. I ordered it about 5 months ago and so far I've had zero major complaints. I've never owned a non-sony controller so I was hesitant that it would be worth it, but I'm glad I placed the order. Needless to say I've never owned a controller with a joystick configuration like this, but it didn't really take any getting used to.

Here's some things I love about this controller:

-It's sturdy and all the buttons are extremely responsive especially on games that require that like Dark Souls

-instantly turns on, whether your using the very handy on/off switch or the home button after inactivity it instantly turns on unlike even the Dualshock 3

-the previously mentioned on/off switch

-the display power button has four levels and is more accurate than the Dualshock

-the R1 buttons are flawless and don't make the annoying clicking sound that 360 controllers do

-the R2 buttons are triggers

-it's super comfortable

-it lights up! (but unless I'm showing off I leave them off to save battery

the few minor things I don't like:

-the face buttons fade over time

-the stuff on the back fades almost overnight if you remove the stickers

-the biggest complaint is with the button placement at the top, it's vey easy to hit the home or power display button when aiming for the select button// hit the light button or the home button when aiming for start

Overall I think this controller is better designed than both the PS3 and 360 controllers (since it's basically the best of both thrown together) and as far as I know cheaper than both as well.

I bought this kit for an Xbox 360 that had already been refurbished by a (MS approved) 3rd party once. The kit came with everything I needed and even the small vial of Goo-Gone was a nice touch.

Tearing open my 360 was honestly more enjoyable then playing the thing. It took a little bit of work but the website tutorial laid it out pretty plainly. Anyone could do it really.

The first time I put it back together, the system booted up like it had never heard of a red ring. It held together for about a week before ultimately red lighting again.

No matter how many fixes, burn-ins, or tricks I tried to pull; there was no bringing it back to life again.

The good:

C&C continues to have the best controls on a console. The new radial interface is an improvement and helps with gaining some 'speed' when selecting the commands. I was worried that this interface would be as sensitive as Mass Effect, but it's not. Selecting what you want is easy.

The missions are well balanced and are not necessarily harder than C&C3. The problem as usual is not with the game difficulty, but with selecting the controls as fast as with a mouse. I don't know if difficulty has been toned a little for this XBox 360 version, but it's manageable.

This is an expansion pack, but doesn't require the other game to play it. Missions start similarly to C&C3, without having the entire Tech Tree available from the early missions. This will help out people that never played this before, as will give them a chance to learn the game. There is also a Boot Camp section but it's too basic. SPOILER ALERT: Skipping the Boot Camp unlocks an achievement.

The bad:

C&C games have never been known for deep stories, but this game really has the most confusing one. In the end, you watch the cut scenes for what they are and enjoy what follows after them.

My favorite faction is GDI and this game only covers NOD. However again, the good thing is that the missions bring the best out of what NOD can do, so this works out pretty good in the end.

Bottom line: If you like C&C games, you will like this one too. Until Red Alert 3 is released, there is enough material here to keep you busy, from Multiplayer, to Skirmish and Kane's Challenge matches. If you are new to this game, maybe C&C3 would be a better starting point, because it has more missions and more variety. In any case C&C games continue to be the best RTS offering on consoles.

RTS games have a bad rap on non-computer entertainment systems and for good reason. A mouse and keyboard is better for these types of games. Its excellent to see that the control scheme has been redone for the consoles. It is very fluid and easy to use. I still prefer the PC version but this comes really close. Its a very fun game but the story expects you to have played command and conquer 3 which I found to be a more interesting game with missions that were more fun and varied.

I bought this black wireless controller so I could have another wireless controller. Be advised when reading reviews on this product that it appears some people are reviewing the Xbox 360 Silver Controller and Play & Charge Kit, which is a special controller that is different (and more expensive as of this writing) than the black controller I am reviewing. This controller does NOT have any chrome items on it (other than the usual Xbox Guide button), nor does it have any upgrades to the D-pad.

As far as the controller itself, I didn't notice any structural difference between this controller and my old white controller that came with my Pro 20GB Xbox 360 several years ago. I did notice, however, that this controller properly charges my Play & Charge Kit where my old one did not. Prior to buying this controller, my Play & Charge kit would always show the red light while recharging. Since the recharging appeared to work anyway, I didn't think much of it (especially after calling Microsoft and being informed that the warranty on accessories is only 90 days, though that was in 2008). Since I assumed that the battery was at fault the whole time, I was surprised to find out that this controller charged the battery and (correctly) showed a green light when charging was complete.

Though it did not appear to be a structural change to the controller, I had somewhat forgotten (or not realized?) how much wear my controller has taken over the four years (give or take) since I got my console. The new controller gives me a bit more precision in games, especially with the right stick and the pushing of the sticks (for activities like sprinting). The tactility of the sticks (with little raised lines for grip) were a nice reminder of what my controller seemed to have at one time.

This was a satisfying purchase for functionality and the nice sleek look of black. I should also note that while the description of the item is "Glossy Black," this controller isn't really what I would call glossy like you would call the bezel of an LCD monitor or clear coat on a car. It gives off very little gloss in my opinion, which is fine by me.

If you are purchasing this controller to use with a PC you must buy the wireless receiver separately. This is a controller only!

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Camo Controller

Despite other opinions this controller is only different in color scheme from the older controllers.

In fact my left trigger annoyingly squeaks ironically all my older controllers (5 in total including the red and blue ones which I use as spares and for friends)never squeaked. Basically the color scheme is all black no gray. And a shiny garish chrome power button. It has the exact same feel the older controllers have. I think some of the reviews claiming it has a different feel or has different performance has to be imaginative wishful thinking.

I noticed no change in performance (and due to the squeaking trigger actually worse quality than my older ones!)

I also noticed no different power consumption as compared to the earlier controllers. I use rechargeable batteries so can't comment on AA battery drain but again I'd be wary of opinions that somehow this controller had been redesigned to reduce power consumption when everything else is identical to the older versions. Unless you actually see controlled tests regarding power consumption I'd take these sort of opinions as opinions not fact.

If you like the new color scheme then buy it but do not expect it to be any different from any earlier controller.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Camo Controller

I picked this up at walmart instead for about the same price. Never had a transforming D-PAD controller so i figured i try it out. Now this controller feels exactly the same and operates the same as a standard one, but the d pad does help a little when playing games that require heavy use of it. Here are some pros/cons

Pros:

-Design: Camouflage, doesn't get any cooler. THE BACK OF THIS CONTROLLER IS BLACK! ONLY FRONT IS CAMO.

-DPAD: The transforming DPAD looks cool and helps in Fighting games.

-Analog: Analog sticks are a bit different, they have a circular ridge on the very outside making them feel different but in a good way.

Cons:

-Trigger: Left trigger after heavy use has a SLIGHT squeak. If it bugs you that much im sure its fixable

-Analog: Ridge on analog sticks can collect dirt. Just dont be lazy and maintain your controller you'll be fine.

Basically if you want to switch things up with your controllers then this one is nice to showcase or just to have. The design is neat so if you want something different pick this up (:

I like this controller. I never had Xbox, but I wanted a wireless controller for PC games on my Win 7-64. No problem with a Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. I did need to hurdle the slight problem of not all games recognizing the controller, but a cheap little program called Xpadder took care of translating the keystrokes to the controller with little difficulty.

This is a fun add-on to Skylanders Giants, and includes a cool magic item and two enjoyable but not dominant characters, which I'll describe separately. First, though, a slight word of warning. While these three toys are compatible with the Skylanders Giants game, it does not include any actual "Giant" figures, just the three figures listed below. Also, unlike the Adventure Packs in the last game, this battle pack does not unlock a new playable level, just a new battle mode area for PVP fights.

1) Silver Cannon: This is a "magic item" that you can use in the game for approximately for approximately 45 seconds each time you play a level. (You will see a circle on screen winding down the time, and can remove and re-add the cannon until your time is up.) If you add it to the portal, a cannon will appear in game, follow your Skylanders around, and shoot blasts of flame at your enemies. It's helpful in the boss battles and is also just fun. Adding the cannon also unlocks a new PVP battle area. Note another store has the exclusive right to sell the limited edition version of this pack, which comes with a gold cannon instead of silver. I'm not sure what the difference is, if any.

2) Shroomboom: This is a new life skylander. He's not the most powerful, but he's very cute, so we've been playing him a lot. He shoots explosive mushrooms with his slingshot, and can raise a defensive ring of mushrooms to slow down enemies. As you power him up, he gets more mushroom abilities, like a different explosive mushroom and the ability to launch himself at enemies. As I said, he doesn't dominate, but he's cute. After upgrading, Shroomboom can hold down his z-button to continually spam the screen with "paratrooper" explosive mushrooms, which is different and actually sort of effective, assuming you can still see him well enough to avoid the enemies while you wait for them to blow up.

Note: Shroomboom is not currently for sale as an individual figure, but he is on the list to be released in a "lightcore" version later, so if you're planning to collect the lightcore figures, you might want to wait.

3) Series 2 Chop Chop: This is the updated version of one of the undead figures from the original game. As in the original game, he's a sword and shield wielding beast. He does reasonable damage and his shield can protects him from most threats. He's basically the same as Series 1, except that he has access to a "Wow Pow" in his case, an upgraded shield bash.

Lastly, although you can use Chop Chop in both Giants and Spiro's Adventure, the other two figures are only compatible with Giants. Enjoy!

Honest reviews on Skylanders Giants Battlepack #1 - Chop Chop - Dragonfire Cannon

Originally, we purchased this battle pack, simply for Chop-Chop, but since opening and playing with it, we have enjoyed all three pieces.

Shroom boom is pretty cool, with his "walls" to stand behind as he attacks.

The battle cannon is useful in long battles, or with bigger, more powerful characters that could take you out quickly, otherwise.

Chop-Chop is my fav though. I played with my niece's first, and then started looking for one of my own, and Amazon had this pack on sale, so we bought it! I enjoy using his attacks, and he looks fabulous in the Showtime Hat. ;)

If you have little children who enjoy the Rugrats believe me they,ll love this game. My kids are ages 6yrs to 10yrs old and this game has provided hours and hours of fun. I never heard my kids laughing and cheering each other on so much, until I purchased this game for them.

I used to have this game from when I was 4 up until a few months ago. I played it from start to finish at least 20 times, and it didn't take more than 2 or 3 hours each time (excluding the first time). The controls are awkward, the camera is awkward, yet somehow, it's one of the best games I have ever played. This game's adorable characters and cutscenes, outstanding level location and design, distinct musical score make this game a significant childhood memory for me. So overall, this is a FANTASTIC game, good for young kids, their parents, and fans of the Rugrats and Nickelodeon.

This game is awesome. I remember getting this game and being extremely excited because it was Rugrats. This really IS a great Rugrats game; the best that has came out. In this game, you can play golf, and even walk around Tommy's entire house and backyard. This is a great game that is a lot like the show. Rugrats in Paris The Movie for teh N64 has got nothing on this game. Buy this for anyone that is a fan of the show.

8.3/10

Honest reviews on Rugrats Search for Reptar

I loved this game as a kid! I would spend hours playing it and trying to figure out how to solve the levels to get another Reptar puzzle piece. I'm 17 now and I still enjoy it as much as I used to.

The voices are the same as in the TV show, and even Tommy's house looks almost exactly the same as it did on TV. Sometimes the kids will talk while you're doing a mission and it's usually really funny.

Each level is creative, interesting, and fun (I especially enjoy the circus one).

There ARE a few things that are bad about it, though.

The camera angles can be a little frustrating, at times it will mess up and move around to where you can't see what you're doing. Also some of the levels are a little TOO easy for the "real" gamers that are out there today. But there are some that are moderately challenging. The graphics aren't the best, they're somewhat pixellated and pretty boxy, but they're good compared to a lot of games back in the 1990's. And the kids often repeat what they have to say, which can get annoying but doesn't really interrupt the gameplay.

But none of these problems are bad enough to make the game itself bad.

Overall, this is a great game for almost anyone.

Banjo-Kazooie
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

The evil witch Gruntilda has stolen Banjo's younger sister, Tooty, in hopes to steal her beauty. Banjo, and Kazooie, the bird that's lodged in his pack, will have to rescue her. You start off in Spiral Mountain, in which the mole, Bottles, will teach you some basic moves. Then you move on to Gruntilda's gigantic lair, in which you will be searching all over for world entrances, into Munbo's Mountain, and Treasure Trove Cove, Clanker's ( a large shark-shaped trash compacter) Cavern, Bubblegloop Swamp, Frezeezy Peak, Gobi's Valley, Mad Monster Mansion, Rusy Bucket Bay, Click-Clock Wood, then Grunty's game show, in which you answer Banjo trivia, and finnally the final battle. Yes, its a lot, and it will take you quite a long time. But it is SOOO fun!

In each world, you will find:

10 jigsaw pieces, or jiggies, which are either lying around or a reward for doing, or defeating something. You use jiggies to open the door to each world (note: sometimes puzzles are faar away from the actual world)

100 musical notes. These are used to get through musical doors, to advance farther in your quest. These are much easier to get than jiggies.

5 Jinjos. A mix between a dino and teddy bear. if you find all five in a world, you get a jiggy.

1 Witch switch. Hammer this switch with Grunty's face on it and a Jiggy will appear somewhere in the lair.

Bottles. In every world up to Gobi's valley, he has a molehill, and if called on, will teach you a new move.

Mumbo: He's only in some worlds, in a big shaman's skull, bring him Mumbo tokens and he will change you into a different creature, essential for findind some jiggies and notes.

Cheeto: He hides in the dark corners of the liar. He doubles your capacity for; blue eggs (ammo), red feathers (flying), and gold feathers (invincebility).

Cauldrons: these also hide in the nooks and crannies of the lair. They provide shortcuts within the lair.

I suggest buying a strategy guide, it's very hard trying to find where the jiggies and notes are.

I am amazed by Rare's building of the worlds and lair. This game will be so much fun. You'll find yourself addicted.

I have never played anything like this since. Everything from Sly Racoon, to Ratchet and Clank, owe it to this.

Wicked witch Gruntilda takes Banjo's sister to hey layer, miles away in a realistic 3D cartoon world.

Banjo is a bear with Kazooie a bird in his backpack that can help him jump and fly and basically you learn to do lots of things with it. You solve puzzles via action and collect tolkens across lovely maps. Mumbo Jumbo transforms Banjo into some other creatures along the way. You can fly. It was amazing. A full adventure all the way to end. We played it for months and I have NEVER played anything like it again. The makers of Donkey Kong released it at the best time. It is now up to the future generations to make adventure concepts better than this one. This is one of the best N64 games ever.

Rareware words fail me. Again they have made a quality title beyond imagination. Creative beyond a shadow of a doubt. 95 % of people agree, that Banjo-Kazooie is a landmark title with everything the N64 has to offer, and that it is worthy of 5 out of 5 stars . While developed early in N64's lifespan, the graphics stand out beyond many titles recently released. The sound is equally as impressive (for N64), and the game has been cleverly melded with it to make you feel as the atmosphere of the game has changed, depending on your situation.

I am proud to say many people love this game. Many of my friends still play it occasionally, however few have beaten it all the way. This game is solid for 50+ hours of gaming, but only when you are willing to get every last puzzle piece and musical note, and every other item. Some people dislike it, and do not be fooled; a 27 year male old who listens to ultra-hard rock and loves games with extreme violence and/or nudity will NOT like this game. It is by no means for everybody. Many gamers, from preschool to high school will like it, but not everybody.

The controls are easy enough to master, and any avid or casual gamer will easily master them with a little practice. The sound is superb. The graphics are good, for an N64 title. There is not a dull moment in this game, and the attention to detail is amazing. The puzzles, the meat of the game, are easy enough for older kids to have a challenge and not to hard for younger kids. The puzzle peices, your reward for completeing a puzzle, are well hidden. The musical notes, the only way to advance to the next portion of the overworld, are challenging to find. The most fun part of the game, visiting Mumbo, is quite enjoyable. He transforms you into various forms. A fat walrus, a termite, and even a bumble bee. There isn't really an advancing story, but that's okay. You get an occasional cinematic, but it's pretty basic.

The story goes...

The evil witch, Gruntilda, is happily hanging out atop her mountain WHEN... The "cute" Tootie, sister of Banjo the bear, strolls by. Overcome with jealousy, she sees Tootie is quite a bit "cuter" than her. So she kidnapps Banjo's sister and creates a machine to suck Tootie's "cuteness" out and put it into her. Banjo and his sidekick breegull, Kazooie set off to find Tootie. A mole named Bottles helps them learn some new moves to defeat various obsticles in the game.

Well, I hope you enjoy this game. Thanks for reading this review, and until next time...

Honest reviews on Banjo-Kazooie

Banjo-Kazooie is a game that didn't really appeal to me at first. It looked to childish, to easy, and just basically stupid. Comming from the epic company Rareware, I was a bit more interested in what this game was about. Seeing so many good reviews and so many possitive aspects, I realized I must give this game a try. Well, was I ever lucky to do so. Keeping with the Mario 64 type control style and the amazing graphics, I couldn't put the game down. Even though the game was kiddie looking and very childish too, it was really placed for us people who love adventure games. The little things, such as the mini games, make this game even better than it already was. Imagine running around in the snow in a race against a sleding polar bear or playing follow the leader with a giant ghost hand. These are only a few of the things you can do in the game. The game flows a little different than Mario fans might be used to; you have many things to collect. For starters, your main objective is to find all the Jiggys on a level so you can gain access to all other levels. Also, music notes are needed to break the witches spell on doors throughout her lair. And even little guys called Jinjo's are here for you to collect, so they can help you on your journey, through a forest, islands, deserts, and many other worlds. If you have seen a Rare game, you know that they have good graphics, so no exception here, very well done. The music is also a plus feature on this game. With so many great reviews by people of all ages and sexes, you would be doing yourself a great disjustice by not buying this game.

I've had this game since way back when it was released; I just never got the chance to write a review.

The Story: Banjo's sister, Tooty, was "the most beautiful girl around" and Grunty the witch wanted her beauty, so she pulled an Amber Alert and took her to her lair. Banjo's lazy bum the whole time was sleeping. It's up to you to get jiggy's and notes and what-not to stop Grunty and get Banjo's sister back.

Graphics: 9.5/10. Awesomely different and creative worlds. From a sewer, to a pirate ship on an island, to a desert and into an icy snowland, there are tons of different and unique worlds to play through. The graphics are stellar for the N64, with bright colors and cool characters with good animations. This is one of the best N64 games as far as graphics go next to games like Donkey Kong 64 and Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

Sound: 9/10. There aren't really any voices in this game; just kind of sound effects that are different for each character. Blubber on Treasure Grove Cove sounds like he's burping or throwing up, Kazooie sounds like a gagging bird, Banjo sounds like a big old hick of a bear... and so on. The music in this game, though, is some of the catchiest and the best music i've heard in really any adventure game. The music doesn't really get old, and whoever created it is brilliant. Overall, the sound is really, really good.

Control: 8.5/10. Being an adventure game, there are a lot of different controls for a lot of different moves. And since the N64 controller is the way it is ( pretty annoying ) it's easy to get confused even after playing for hours on end, just because you go brain dead. The controls are a bit strange at first to do some of the attacks, but you will get used to them anyways.

Fun: 9/10. A great game from beginning to end. Get the jiggys, move on. Get the notes, move on. That simple? No. This game is challenging and is for all ages, even if it does have a kiddy approach. The game lasts maybe 40 hours or so depending on how fast you get through the game. Great characters, great level design, and fantastic music makes this a must buy. This is one of the best games on the N64, and I.M.O., the best adventure game. Pick this game up now; it is better than its sequel and the Game Boy Advanced ones, even if all three are fantastic. Buy this game!!

Bought this for my 20GB Playstation 3 and it worked as soon as i plugged it in. I have an Airlink 101 router and a Touchstone modem which i thought may cause compatability issues but it works 100%. I definetly recommend it to anyone looking to make their PS3 wireless.

This is a steal, it is less than half the price the Microsoft adapter and works just as well. BUY THIS! I live in the basement in the back left corner of the house, and my router is on the 3rd floor in the front corner and it works fine, i occasionaly have a problem but it can easily be fixed.

I have been using this item for about a month and it works great with my xbox 360 every now and then i lose connection but it is not that long 5 to 10 min. but if parents are looking for a cheaper way to get there kids ethernet this is it this product is perfect it installs in 10 min. very simple.

The device is good if you only need 802.11B speeds (which is enough for internet play.) The issue that I overlooked was what encryption it supported. The WGA11B does not support WPA, no firmware update that I could find on linksys either, so I am left with a pretty decent device that I won't utilize on my network. I have none to blame but myself, however, as I was hasty and didn't pull up the full specs.

They failed to mention that the installation will only work off a PC. Good luck my fellow Mac owners.... Oh not to mention that you must be running a PC older then Vista to install! I just wanted a straight up adaptor that would search for networks and let me configure.... Not possible!

Dungeon Siege 3 has been much awaited as it brings the Dungeon Siege element to the Consoles. While the game has under gone a drastic amount of changes is it enough for this game to stand on, or have the changes made done nothing but sink the ship? In short a bit of both! Dungeon Siege 3 simplifies the experience and gears the entire game for console users essentially putting the PC experience on the back burner. In doing so gone are the micro managing of your comrades, a basic inventory system with a very basic leveling system that does little to promote individual variety(you eventually unlock everything).

Still what we have here is a solid game that will not be a disappointment to the Hack & Slash RPG fans of ye olde day such as Diablo, Titan Quest, etc.

GAMEPLAY

What can I say.. it is a hack n' slash RPG. Be prepared to go through dungeons grinding away on mobs and collecting loot! Dungeon Siege 3 does not disappoint in this category. It brings lots of gameplay something crucial to any video game; especially a hack and slash type. You have a choice of 4 pre-made characters which of course breaks down into typical Warrior, Caster, Rogue etc. When not in dungeons you will be visiting towns to buy and sell goods, pick up some simple quests that are not to bad to complete, and of course continue the storyline. It is fairly simple but gets the job done. Dungeons are varied as are the types of mobs you encounter so things get changed up enough to not get boring. Throw in a variety of difficulty levels and drop-in/out co-op and you have a pretty solid gameplay experience.

Combat is handled exceptionally well I feel for a hack & slash on a console. Your main attack and 3 skills are bound to your attack buttons while blocking and your stances are controlled via the shoulder/trigger buttons. During mid-combat with the warrior-type lets say, a bunch of trash rushes you just switch to a 2-handed stance and hack away. By doing this you open up your 2 Handed skills. Middle of the fight a boss mob comes in you can just switch, on the fly, back to a sword/shield stance and of course unlock 1 handed skills. You can map 3 skills per stance which makes you have to choice between the available skills per stance. Toss in Proficiencies, which add some customization to the skills by allowing you to pick a perk for that skill, and you have a simple yet somewhat diverse set of skills. While it is no Diablo or Titan Quest in skill variety and customization it keeps it very simple.

GRAPHICS

The game looks pretty good on the console. I have not checked it out on the PC but it is a very pretty game. The fire effects aren't bad and the variety of colors and effects for your skills are awesome. By no means is this a perfect engine here but it has graphical appeal and does help to make the world a bit more recognizable. I did notice some slow down on the PS3 version when I was looking awkwardly at fire with the camera, but I tend to try and kill the frame-rates on purpose at times. Combat however was very smooth and I noticed no difference between the PS3 or 360 versions when it came to the FPS during combat or cut-scenes.

SOUND/STORY

The effects and sound track here aren't bad. I would say average. Nothing special to talk about but the voice acting I would say is sub-par. Many times it seemed as is the actors/actresses really did not care much about their lines. This puts a damper on the already boring storyline. Yes there is a storyline here for a Hack & Slash! A detailed storyline to boot! Problem is I found the storyline incredibly boring and uninteresting. A lot of it had to do with the dialogue as it really didn't sell you on the story. Still there is some meat here to give purpose to your adventure.

REPLAY/LENGTH

What good is a hack & slash without replay!? Well this game boasts some solid replay value if you are up for it. Where as past Hack and Slash games I have played allow you to continue on harder difficulties with your existing loot... not the case here. There is no Game+ feature here. Instead you just start a new difficulty from square one again. Replay value will come down to simple trophy/achievement collecting, simple enjoyment of the game and of course Co-Op. The game itself took me around 13-15 hours to complete on my play-through; and I have yet to replay it on another difficulty since nothing carries over.

*** CO-OP FEATURES *** ( 4 player ONLINE support, no LAN support, 2 player LOCAL co-op )

A crucial part of this game that people have been getting confused about. Co-Op works very strange in this game and while it does work.. it doesn't at the same time. Much like how the game really simplified the elements almost to a fault, the Co-Op was simplified far past a fault. Not only is there a lack of Game+ here, but Co-Op works fairly backwards for a game of this type. If you hop into a game online or with your friend only, your SP character WILL NOT be used. No progress you make with your friend/PUG will carry to your account. You are simply there for moral support you could say. To make things worse, even if you are doing Co-Op on different accounts (like a 4 player PUG group) the host is who the camera centers on. Meaning you are locked into the hosts camera frame. While this just takes time to get used to, it seems like a colossal step backwards compared to previous hack&slash titles. The overall Co-Op experience can be a lot of fun if you put aside gear, level and just work as a team to have some fun.

OVERALL 73% (7.3) .. C

Dungeon Siege 3 is not a bad game by any means. It simplified the Hack & Slash elements to suit the console but in doing so it over-simplified the elements down to a no-brainer. While perhaps a disappointment at first glance Dungeon Siege 3 still brings gameplay to the table and lots of it. There is plenty to do here, and despite a slightly simplified dungeon design you still have tons of baddies to plow through and loads of loot to gather.

A weak inventory system holds it back as does the Co-Op method used by the game but still... this is the kind of game Hack and Slash fans have been craving for a long time. It is a fresh change of pace for the genre despite being simplified. While not a full-price for some, it is a game worth picking up if you are a fan of the genre. The flaws in DS3's armor are not bad enough to ruin the game but it might leave a sour taste if you set expectations to high.

**NOTE: I was disappointed with the absence of SET items. However with no real game+ mode, and a 10-15 hr campaign it is understandable why they were probably absent

This is a pretty good game in the under 20 price range (currently) if you like playing rpgs with action elements and don't want to be playing the same game for a 4 month stretch. It's typical hack and slash gameplay; there is one sword button and the rest are special moves. Some strategy is required for the bosses and mini-bosses; you will die if you go head long into the battle and just stand there pressing the button. As has been stated in reviews it's a bit like gauntlet legends except with more story and upgradeable weapons and armor (maybe dragon age light is an appropriate description). Certainly not a boring game and you'll end up playing for a couple hour clips.

It's fairly short as far as length even if you do all the side missions but for 10-15 bucks you should enjoy the game.

Born from legend to unite a legion, Dungeon Siege 3 is a very addictive action/rpg game that is in the same game play types as such as Dragon Age and LOTR War In The North. You can team up on Xbox Live or with friends at home in 4 player co-op. The story wich I wont talk about so I dont spoil anything for new fans is very solid and has some good depth to it. Players should also know that this was a PC game first that was ported over to the ps3 and the Xbox 360 so of course it may not look as good as the PC version but on Xbox 360 it still has crisp detail and excellent sound quality.

Return to the kindom of Ehb to define your destiny as one of four unique heroes, reunite with the last of the remaining legionnaries to rid the land of evil as you collect countless treasures, upgrade your abilities and acquire the ultimate combination of armor and weaponry. Join forces to expierence the true power of the legion. With full HDTV support, Dolby Digital Surround Sound and 1-2 player offline or 2 player co-op offline Dungeon Siege 3 is a multi-player expierence and on Xbox Live you can play 1-4 multiplayers or co-op 2-4 player where players can drop in or drop out of the game anytime they choose.

Honest reviews on Dungeon Siege III - Xbox 360

This game is somewhat short and almost predictable. While the graphics are amazing, the game however falls short in many categories. Ill break it down below.

Solo If you like to play solo, this game is NOT for you. Unless you play as Marcus, you are pretty much going to have a tough time in this game. The AI team mate does not...I repeat does Not hold aggro or act with very strong AI support. I played as Katrina, and found it extremely difficult to get through the campaign because she is range. The so called dodge/roll is like a double edged sword. You can avoid attacks completely but when you come out of the dodge, you can not pre-aim while rolling. So if your rolling away from the mob, when you try to fire...you will have to spend the extra 1 or 2 seconds to re-aim or you will just shoot in the opposite direction of the mob. I put this in this part because if your not tanking, you will be doing this since the AI party member can not attack first or get aggro. There is no party member tactics. So your stuck with it.

Camera control Still kinda hurt the game because you can not go low enough to see that far in front of you. Yet, you can look directly down at you which defeats the purpose of great graphics.

Character skills/abilities Yes I only played Katrina but understand that there is NO reason to play this game again once you complete it. The selection of abilities/spells is rather limited and somewhat child's play. There are 3 tiers and with in the tiers there is 3 abilities/spells. You can increase each one of these but it is divided into 2 different categories and limited to a total of 5 improvements in each spell. By the time you reach the end. you will have mastered most of the skills even the ones you do not want to. Its a big waste. No reason to limit what you want your own abilities.

Travel you run everywhere. There is no ability to teleport back to down or even take a short cut. In most cases, you have to go back and forth several times. While this may seem legit, it is worse when you have no ability to explore unless doing a quest. Although if you go every part while in a quest, you will find random chests everywhere. What is worse, you find yourself attacking the walls of the environment because you can not tell the difference between a breakable object with treasure inside or the wall.

Final review If you are looking for a decent rental, this is a decent game for that. I would not recommend buying this game. The story line is excellent but do not expect too much from this game. If you play online...make sure you create your own server. You can transfer items from one character to another.

This type of game is one of my favorite genres. Its one that my wife and I can play through together and have fun doing it. That being said there are some definate problems that I feel must be written down so other fans will know before the purchase of this game.

1)Probobly my biggest issue with this game is the scripted combat. Once you start your character swinging, punching, shooting, etc. the combat follows a pattern that doesnt vary. It is nice when the game makers give you the ability to create your own combo within your combat.

2)Next and maybe I'm nit-picking here but with the multiplayer there is some one sidedness to the conversations here. Yeah it is nice that all four players can select which dialogue that they would prefer in conversations but ultimately the party leader/player one has the only real choice in the matter. Also the money goes into a community pot rather than individual accounts which can be frustrating at times.

3)There is no way to have two players in the equipment selection screen as with other games in the genre. My wife and I have been fans of this type of game since the Balders Gate game came out on the PS2 whenever we could find a dungeon crawling multiplayer game we were there. Now this might not seem like such a big deal but when you each get something new that you want to checkout it can be quite annoying to have to wait while the other person takes his sweet time checking out the new item he just recieved(my own personel flaw).

There might be some other minor issues that I have with this game but all in all this is one of the best games in the genre to come out recently I would definatly recommend buying this game if you are into a good dungeon crawl with friends just be aware that player one ultimately in the one in charge of the story.

Hope this helps anyone still on the fence about this game.

There are probably two types of people out there interested in this game: people who've played one of the 18 Wheels series and people who haven't.

If you have played on of these games, skip down a bit.

If you haven't, depending on what sort of simulations you're in to, this game may give you hours of enjoyment or boredom.

The basic tack of the game is, as you'd expect, you get some money, an entry-level rig and a lack of any reputation. Your goal is to grab loads to haul and drive them across the US and to some extent Canada and Mexico. As you haul loads, you'll make more money for upgrades for your rig (or a whole new rig) and you'll gain a reputation. Your success and your reputation lead to your ability to hire on other drivers and expand your trucking empire.

To counteract your success, you'll have to deal with long (and in some cases boring) hauls, police (checking speed, general driving rules, etc), and to some extent, the competition of your fellow truckers. There's also traffic on the roads including other trucks. There used to be a bug in older versions that made traffic hazardous (cars would just randomly hit the brakes like they were trying to cause an accident) but that's gone and traffic will even yield to your turn signal. But, to compensate for this, the devs decided to throw in something else to cause you grief. If you so much as stop one inch beyond the line at a stop light, you'll be flagged as having run a red light (a fine worth up to $9000 in the game!). This and people driving in obvious violation of the law (well, at least in the states I've driven) where they're making right turns across one or more lanes of traffic (thus colliding with you and getting you in trouble with the law again) can mean you'll be dishing out a lot to pay violations. Of course, the silver lining is that you only really pay for violations if you pass within a certain distance of a parked cop car.

The graphics are passable but dated. The graphic engine won't show up on a video games award show any time soon. Cities will have some hints at their landmarks and the like but there is no real attempt to map out the city in anyway. The cities are just small hubs where you'll find services and companies to grab loads from. That said, it does what it needs to do and the rigs themselves are pretty detailed. There are several cameras you can use to check your rig out while driving plus a great top-down cam that's been in the games of the series for a while and for good reason...nothing beats using that to hitch and line up trailers. Even so, the camera can be limited (you can only zoom out so far) and with a long enough (double) trailer, you can't really see beyond about half way down the second trailer. You'll have to rely on mirrors and other camera angles to get that right.

The driving is okay but has the same limitations as any other driving game. Ideally, you'll want to use a wheel or joystick (or gamepad). I don't have any of those so I used the keyboard. The keyboard works but driving can be challenging at times given the lack of a way to "finesse" turns and the like. Even so, you'll largely just be more worried about getting from point A to point B. There are short cuts in places but you're largely constricted to a couple of set highways to get from city to city. Still, you've got to manage your speed (cops), your fuel (only so many gas stations), and your route (watch for those short cuts) so there are things to keep you busy even on a long haul.

Overall, the game can be fun but it's a very specific fun. I personally like business sims and love the idea of running and managing logistics and just trucking loads across America. If you're looking for a fast-paced game or a complicated economic sim, this is not the game for you. But, if you wanted to strap yourself into a rig and drive around the country hauling loads, this is the game for you. And, it also helps that the price is nice and low. This version essentially rolls up all the various updates and changes made throughout the 18 Wheels series so you're getting the best version of the simulation (with the business side as well as the rigs and some of the bug fixes).

Previous 18 Wheels Owners (Start here)

For those of you that have tried an 18 Wheels game before you should know the drill by now. The games are more of a minor evolution than a revolution as you go from game to game. At this point, though, in the series, you're getting all the enhancements that have come down the pike (the more complicated business sim, the fix for the traffic issue, the expanded map with all of North America, etc.). At the same time, if you got Haulin', you likely got most of this anyway.

So, if you haven't updated your original 18 Wheels (across america?) game, you should probably just grab this sucker (it's nice and cheap anyway) and get up to date.

If you got Haulin or are like me and got every version in the series so far, this isn't going to be pushing the envelope for you at all. Still, the map seems to be a bit different and I noticed at least one thing that was fixed (that traffic bug...where cars used to just hit the brakes all the time) and, as I mentioned, it's dirt cheap (at least right now @9.99), it might be worth the pick up just to get some of those minor enhancements. It's your money so you'll know the best approach.

All in all, I like the series despite it's issues. I, like a lot of other fans, keep holding out for that graphics upgrade and some more sophisticated aspects to the business part (and maybe an autopilot for those times when you really just don't want to do that cross-country run again). Maybe one day...

This is nothing more than an okay game, in my opinion. It is a decent game, but is missing some features. The graphics are very plain. They need liveliness. In newer games, there is more detail. That is exactly what this needs. There should be more trees, and more realistic grass and desert sand. I would like for there to be more cactus plants in the desert as well, as in real life. Or, at least more realistic sand, and flatter land. I really like the desert in 18 WOS Extreme Trucker, a newer game. They are very detailed, and look nothing like the old ones. I think that the vehicles in this game, including the AI vehicles, need a lot of improvement in apperance. The surfaces and textures on trucks in some of the old games are actually better! But there is a good selection of trucks included though. There are some invisible walls on the ramps to the gas stations, that should be removed because they can damage a person's truck. It is not right that you can be driving very well and all of a sudden crash into something you can't even see. Here are my pros and cons:

PROS

Map

Variety of environments

Number of cities, trucks

Weather (snow, rain, sunny)

CONS

Detail included (sides of roads are very plain, unexciting)

Police system (You can crash into up to one car next to a police officer and not get fined)

Truck sounds (Very limited, would have liked more, not very realistic)

Truck (Lack uniqueness, limited interiors, nothing special)

Truck handling (hard to make sharp turns)

Bugs (annoying)

Weather (in some parts there is always snow, in some places, never any snow, but not a huge problem)

Due to environment's lack of detail and plainess, long drives can get boring

Car colors, textures (cars look terrible compared to newer games, very unrealistic)

Cardboard buildings (unrealistic)

Now, I want to compare this game to older game:

If you want the most realistic trucking game from SCS Software, get German Truck Simulator or UK Truck Simulator, which are available on Amazon. This game is good for its time. But the newer games I just mentioned have much more detail in their graphics, and the skies are much better. The vehicles are better too, and the trucks have much more personality. Each has its own interior, and handles differently, with a different engine sound as well. There are only seven vehicle brands, and 21 trucks. The trucks are separated by class: A Class (Best), B Class (Medium), C Class (Worst), so you know exactly which quality to look at. All of the A Class trucks, for example, are much different from each other. The newer games that are supposed to be out soon, 18 WOS Extreme Trucker 2 and Euro Truck Simulator 2, will probably be even better. And, I do not think that this game is much different than Haulin', except for Mexico being added, and some other features that should have been in Haulin in the first place. So bascially, this game, 18 WOS American Long Haul, is okay, but needs improvement.

Best Deals for 18 Wheels of Steel : American Long Haul - PC

Valusoft/SCS has created a great series in 18 Wheels of Steel. They've constistantly kept the price ) and have made great products. The 18WoS franchise has been a great driving simulator and buisness sim as well as being pretty stable (not counting Convoy).

Unfortunately it seems like the 18WoS series is beginning to get stale and repetitive. The cities need to be lively! Going into cities which seem so familiar and seeing no one walking or people coming out of shops and office buildings just doesn't cut it anymore. The traffic signals even look the same. Turning lanes would be a nice addition because a accident is just waiting to happen, plus when you wait for a clear path making a left turn, you are constantly being honked at. Please, no more cardboard buildings.

In the latest release by Valusoft/SCS American Long Haul has the same graphics as Haulin as well as the same premise. You start off with a truck and haul different types of cargo through the United States, Canada and now Mexico (only a few cities). Mexico was added but it was previously in 18WoS: Pedal to the Medal only. The only thing different in 18WoS: ALH is that you can bid on cargo and their are some shortcuts. There are a few large truckstops but to me it's not a truckstop if you can't get out of your truck, fill up the tank, go to the bathroom, talk to other drivers, or relax in the resturant. You can also be your own boss and hire other drivers just like in Haulin. I think the minor additions to American Long Haul could of very well been a patch for Haulin.

When I saw this on the SCS website, I was looking forward to a new chapter in the 18WoS series however when I played the demo, it's exactly like Haulin. I wasn't expecting American Long Haul to be almost the same as Haulin. Very disappointing!

Sadly, the graphics are getting old and the game itself is beginning to get stale. When you travel the highways, there are barren areas and areas that you wish were barren. The same setup for the cities is again in American Long Haul. What this means is that the cities are devoid off people, the traffic lights are strangely the same in every city, the buildings and scenery are bland and look like pop up books or blocks of cardboard. The only pleasant scenery is the water (bodies of water). What is inexusable are the highways and streets throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. The developers should of at least done their homework on how the cities are laid out as well as the routes to get to them. I was hoping for the actual suspension bridges that lead to New York City as well as others. What about the tunnels to go from Manhattan into New Jersey? The Deleware River Gap Bridge when you drive on Interstate 80 through New Jersey? I'm not just talking about the New York/New Jersey area, I'm speaking for the whole area that is included in 18WoS: American Long Haul. With games being manufactured on DVD's you can't tell me that there isn't enough space on a DVD. If the budget was too tight maybe split it into several expansions? Use Google Earth if you can't travel all over the United States and take pictures. I also am wondering that thoughout the game, how come there are absolutely no truck stops anywhere. At truckstops, you can relax, have a meal (everyone, come on you know the words....YMCA, gonna stay at the YMCA....sorry couldn't help it! :-), maybe wash your rig, or buy acessories as well (Yes I saw the History Channels Modern Marvels: Truck Stops). At some weigh stations if you make the wrong turn to the parking lot before you "get weighed, you get a ticket! It's also weird to see no one manning the weigh stations. You can't even look through the building's window. What I'm implying is that the realism factor has certainly gone down. The first couple from the 18WoS series it's understandable and I have been amazed as to how 18WoS first came out and matured into a surprising hit as a driving simulation and business sim. If the cities are more realistic instead of empty of any human activity, and the routes to get to and from cities was more accurate, I think I would not mind to pay extra if the coompany raised the price from With todays computers (dual core, quad core) and graphic cards, SCS/Valusoft can certainly put together a 18WoS game that certainly can be deep and wow people. Reading a few reviews when the 18WoS franchise was first started showed that it was a surprise hit and got better with each new release (again not counting Convoy).

I only played the demo (and have AML when I bought Big City Rigs) for a few minutes because it seemed like I was playing Haulin all over again. I enjoy Haulin even though the graphics are making me go blahhhh. If you feel the same way, stick with Haulin because if you buy American Long Haul, its 99.9999999% the same and yes if you don't own Haulin then American Long Haul would be the one to get.

It would be nice if the next title in the 18WoS series would bring live cities: people, more realistic buildings, bridges, traffic, construction, accidents, and toll bridges. Maybe the developers can add car washes and realistic gas and service stations. Can I get out of my truck to pump my own gas? Can I check the oil and engine? Check my tires? Can I buy a snack or a drink? Can I tell the mechanic (depending on the time of the day to check the engine)? Replace the tires? What about truck stops? What about after a long delivery, can I go to a Motel or Hotel (again getting out of my truck) and rest? Talk to other truckers in the lobby? Talk to other truckers in the truckstop? If I am in Las Vegas, can I actually stop off at the casino? If my house is nearby, can I go home and rest? It would be nice if I had a reason for working as a trucker or owning my own business. If I had a house somewhere in the cities or outlining suburbs-I have bills to pay. If I own a company there is got to be other things to do than simply hiring drivers and buying them rigs. How about building an office complete with a truck yard? Take on multiple computer opponents. Finally, since when do you deliver your cargo and there is no one to except it. It would be nice to have a forklift and deliver the goods into the warehouse or place of business that you are deliverying to. If you brought cars, you should be able to drive the cars off your trailer and put them in the dealers lot. Can you give bills/reciepts to show that you had reached your destination. It's weird dropping off cargo and it all of a sidden disapears when you press "T" and you get the money automatically into your bank account. All the companies are completely devoid of people and no other trucks come in but yours.

It's time to polish up the graphics, extend throughout the farthest reaches of North America. Let it become what the Simcity franchise has been known for----neverending and without any "clear goals." You just need to balance your budget. The game could end if you decide to retire, steal from the company and get caught, get arrested and can't pay the court fees and fines and/or jail time or cause such a horrific accident that your license it taken away for good. A good lesson within the game would be if you are in a resturant/bar on your night off or your down time and you drink to much, the police WILL catch you and determine if you were under the influence, arrest you, and this means game over. A realistic police force (an intelligent AI) would be fantastic. Throwing a wrench in this game would be to become the TOP TRUCKING COOMPANY that meets the demands of "its" customers while balancing a budget. If you retire you can have the option of buying an industry or a commerical business that trucking companies do business with so you're still a part of the action if you decide to "take a break." It would be great to have control of building your own warehouse to store whatever your hauling and actually have employees as well yourself removing the cargo. Again the cities in Long Haul as well as the previous 18WoS, are so stale that it seems like no one lives in these cities. All you see are cars and trucks. The wow factor in this game and hopefully this won't be the last one is to release it on a DVD(s) and restore this game as a model of beauty. I think (and I'm not speaking for everyone) people will be willing to shell out a little bit more if this game, company, and franchise go up a level or two and take the Tycoon trophy.

An option for multiplayer would be interesting. People can decide to be a trucker, own, a truck dealership, drive in cars, become a police officer, a customs official (goods coming from abroad and into your warehouse to ship), own/build resturants, car washes, gas stations, industries, the tools for trucks (pipes/hoses for gasoline trailers ect. You could drive a gasoline trailer either to the gas companies refinery and/or the actual gas station and fill up the stations gas tanks for its customers.

I realized that the modest system requirements have allowed the 18WoS franchise to bring a great level of playability and realism. I think it's time to up the system requirements and completely change how a simulation and a tycoon game can be created. With todays computers and computer components as well as their prices, the game can reach another level. I would love to see this game require dual core processors and at least a NVidia 8800 and ATI x1950 or higher video card. Most systems if not all of them out today are at least dual-core systems.

To anyone who's never played the 18WoS games then this is the game for you. For those people who own 18WoS: Haulin, it's pretty much the same game and you might feel disappointed and think, "Hey, I just played this in Haulin.", when you play the demo. I love the 18WoS series and hope new content is added.
