Drop shot, Auto-aim, Jitter Xbox 360 Modded Controller COD MW3 Reviews
Everytime my son's friends come over to play Xbox they fight over who gets to try out his new controller. We got him one for good grades, and got him a second one for his birthday. He loves these controllers and is always telling me about how much its helped his game. He showed me how it works and it looks like a neat concept. He is one happy camper!Ive had ALOT of different modded controllers. From all different kinds of sites and this is by far the BEST mod ive had. Its fast. Accurate and easy to cycle thru mods. I am extremely satisfied!

This headset really changed the quality of my Xbox communications. Pretty straight forward this headset makes what I'm saying very clear to others. I can hear everyone very well. Its heavier than the normal headsets that come with the Xboxes so it takes some getting use to if you happen to have some pretty lengthy sessions like my friends and I.
I've only had this headset a week so I can't speak for how long it will last and I tend to go through a lot of headsets but honestly I've used it over 10 hours so far and at the price I think its worth it. If something were to happen to it I would get the same headset instead of going with the other ones.
I can see some people wanting wireless which this one doesn't have but the volume wheel and mute/non-mute buttons are in nice places and the connection to the controller is pretty nice.
I'd give this headset a 4 out of 5 because it does do great for my communicating needs, it is heavy but its to be expected but all in all it does great and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a communication solution for their Xbox.
Please leave a positive vote if you found this review helpful. Thanks. And as always, feel free to ask any questions related to the product or review. I'll try to answer them as best as possible.
See the video below for a quick review on this product. They were very uncomfortable, they fell apart. Spend another 5-10 dollars and you'll get a much better pair.

I'll start off by saying for 5 bucks, I was not expecting much out of these, but come to my surprise, they really had a lot more to offer than I thought. The reason to why I purchased these was so that I could have the ability to chat and nothing more. As for the headset itself, you can hear little to no static while players are chatting and the mic works fairly well as I have asked players to give their opinion on how the mic sounded. This headset can fit comfortably on you're ears for about an hour and a half, but after that you may begin to feel numbness and pain along the ends of you're ears. One downside to this headset is that it cuts off sound from the actual game play so It can be a bit difficult to hear the pitter patter of an opposing players feat as he comes in for the knife to ruin your streak. I'd recommend either turning up the volume so that you can hear, or keep one of the earphones on and the other off. Although the headset feels a little cheap, It still has a sufficient amount of durability considering that I've already dropped it a couple times and have had no problem with them sense. Overall, this is not you're top tier gaming headset, but for 5 bucks, they can certainly get the job done in a sufficient manner. I'd definitely recommend these to anyone looking for an inexpensive headset merely just for the ability to chat. Please leave a positive vote if you found this review helpful. Thanks. And as always, feel free to ask any questions related to the product or review. I'll try to answer them as best as possible.

For the price, it is great. The only issue I have with this product is that it really limits all other sound from penetrating.. Most importantly the game sounds! So I can hear everyone talking and that's great, but I likely won't hear the guy coming up behind me to end my kill-streak! All in all, speedy delivery and great quality/price!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Professional Headphone with Microphone for XBOX 360 (Lifetime
This headset is really awesome. It does everything I want it to do and more. The volume is nice and loud and the microphone is very sensitive, so you may want to distance the reciever away from your mouth. Overall, a cheap yet high quality product.Sunday, January 25, 2015

Great game, best shooter ever, blah blah blah. If you are expecting to be able to play right away you are not. This seems to be the exact same game released in Oct 2011 with new packaging and an included code to unlock Premium. Once you unlock premium you have to DL quite a bit to actually get what you paid for.
Armored Kill1.6 gb
hd update1.5 gb(optional)
title update183 mb
update2.1 gb
Multiplayer Update 32.4 gb
Multiplayer update 41.5 gb
That's over 9gb kids. Now It is awesome that that they are including all the DLC's in a bundle and to be honest I am not even complaining, just giving warning.
The two DLC map packs that have released (As of September 2012) mix up the gampley by taking you to two ends of the Battlefield spectrum, up close infantry combat and HUGE maps with all out Tank and vehicular warfare. The developers have realy done a great job at including a broad swath of gameplay options to accomadate many people's playstyle.
The gametypes are usualy either super fast paced, super tatical, or both, requiring players to think on their feet and work different play styles. The class system is great and there is no one class that will be dominant for everything. You just have to find out what works for each situation and they change quickly as the game progresses. Hell you can even create sort of hybrid classes, like a sniper with an SMG or shotgun for close in engagements or an assault class with a high powered rifle with a scope for medium to long range. This game offers a level of flexability not too well seen in games today. Although not the hyperealistic title some people want, but not the arcade like individualistic gameplay of other games either. BF3 fits in a special place that greatly balances the two types Extremely well. I reccomend this to anyone willing to give it a try.
And the best part is that the experience is not over, the next THREE DLC's that you will get for essentially FREE will expand the gampley even more. And they are not just simple map packs slapped together and thrown into the mix. Each DLC so far has focussed on creating a different gamplay experience; meaning the next few will offer new and refreshing options for the player to utalize. Im just hoping they will add more multiplayer coop missions/rewards to the soup ;)
Battlefield 3 Premium adds 5 new expansion packs. Unlike Call of Duty these expansion packs are actually worth your purchase. Each pack adds a new layer of depth to the all ready deep multiplayer. If your considering buying this game, Premium edition makes it perfect, it saves you about $50 from buying premium if you didn't get this version of the game.
I would give this game a 9/10. Its has a great and almost flawless multiplayer and Co-op. Sadly the Campaign isn't quite up to standards with the rest of the game.

I have always loved Battlefield and BF3 IMO is a fantastic title. But all of the new DLC's and stuff now are kind of a turn off to new commers. Then they released this edition and I have to say, much more worth the extra 20 or so dollars compared to the standard edition. You save some 50-80 dollars on DLC's alone. You also get access to close to 20 new weapons and 20 or so challenges to help mix up the gameplay. All of which(the weapons) are pretty well balanced and are a welcome addition to the base gameplay. The two DLC map packs that have released (As of September 2012) mix up the gampley by taking you to two ends of the Battlefield spectrum, up close infantry combat and HUGE maps with all out Tank and vehicular warfare. I hate to sound like a broken record reviewer, but like many others before me, I was REALLY skeptical when I discovered these here on Amazon. And like a smart buyer that I am I did my research before taking the plunge. I discovered that a majority of the reviews online were mostly all positive the build is good quality and for the most part, it improved accuracy across the board for a majority of the buyers. Reading that, I pulled the trigger... (YES, that was a pun)
So like many millions of gamers out there, my latest FPS addiction is Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) for the Xbox 360, and the FPS Freeks promise to deliver on higher/better control and accuracy when you put these on. You get TWO per package so I just used one for the right thumb stick only. As promised, the build was solid and snapped on to my controller nicely. **NOTE However, if you have a controller with a WORN thumb stick (yes, you know who you are and what it looks like) then you might have to buy a new controller to take full advantage of these, as THEY WILL slip on worn sticks.**
Now that the build promise is pretty solid, what about the control/precision promise....?
Let me explain my gaming with MW2 for a bit. I'm not MLG pro material, at all, mind you. But I LOVE to play MW2. I have my hot and cold days and I'm certainly not a dominating "beast" when I play. What I can tell you is that my strength lies in my SMG and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) combat. When it comes to Sniping I rate myself as OK. But when you put a Assault Rifle in my hands, I downright SUCK!! I'm not afraid to admit it too. The most powerful arrangement of guns MW2 has to offer, and I have no skills to play them. Somehow everyone else can get a "bead" on me and kill with a single burst or head shot (maybe they're using FPS Freeks!) with little effort. I, on the other hand, seem to ALWAYS overcompensate, even when I'm LDS (Looking Down Sights) I seem to always miss my target. I've even experimented with multiple sensitivities to no success...
Fast forward to my new experience with the FPS Freeks:
Assault Rifles ---> HOLY CRAP YES, with assault rifles I can honestly say I've gotten better with it on. I'm still in the process of finding my new "sweet spot" with the sensitivity but what I like the MOST about having them is the sheer precision that you get by having your sticks extended with these. Now when I gently/slowly move (or flick) the sticks, the targeting overcompensates WAY LESS than before, which usually overshoots the target. I ALWAYS fought with the sticks on being subtle, now its so much less effort. Pick your poison gun at this point!! Hmmm Scar-H or ACR?? It didn't matter, my Kill-Death ratio (with assault rifles) dramatically improved. Again, not pro status, just better. ALREADY worth it at this point.
SMG/CQB (Close Quarters Battle) ---> Already my bread-and-butter setup, I noticed I had to up the sensitivity by a couple notches...and this was a good thing! I'm pretty good at the snap-shoot hipfire kills that CQB brings, but WOW, I can whip 180's in a sec and get my knife or SMG kill on with so much more precision and accuracy it seems illegal! Loving my FPS Freeks even more!!
Sniping/Long-Ranger ---> The MOST noticeable improvement thus far. Key word noticeable -. I'm a tried and true "hard-scoper" (not a cheap quick-scoper) and is ALL ABOUT subtle precision. Holding my breath, leading my target, and taking that headshot has NEVER felt SO EASY!! I'm dead serious!! (pun again) Sure anyone can kill some dummy standing still, but killing a flagrunner from across the map multiple times in a match is sheer brilliance! Again, you may brag on your skills being godlike, but for us "common" gamers, this is an experience that cannot be described. Man oh man, the FPS Freeks have made things crazy!
CONCLUSION: So let it be said. I wanted to buy these to enjoy MW2 more than I'm already doing now. I honestly don't care about KD Ratios and Win-Loss ratios and I don't obsess over it like a lot of my friends do. NOW, I can say I am a more flexible MW2 player and having a boat load of fun doing it even more. FPS Freeks has passed with FLYING COLORS. If you're expecting to be "FPS God", NOTHING can guarantee that. Just like anything else, a tool is only as good as its handler. If YOU want to become better, by buying these, I believe you will. But if you need help getting there (or at least have some fun doing it), then I'm 100% confident that these FPS Freeks are the way to go!
Great job Kontrol Freeks!! Keep up the good work!!
I'm 35 and I consider these to be one of the best birthday presents I've ever received. I've changed my 360 profile to be a billboard for Kontrol Freek in my bio. Totally worth the money. 5 stars isn't enough to completely describe how I feel about these.
While playing Call of Duty, Halo 2 and 3, and any other competitive first person shooter I would always struggle with the balance of the look sensitivity. For exmaple since Modern Warfare 1, I played with a look sensitivity of 4. This setting was great for me and I excelled at it. I could aim accurately but was not able to scan an entire room or quickly glance behind me an then snap back to the front again. To remedy this problem I did experiment with higher look sensitivity settings, like 6 or 7, I loved the ability to snap look around, but alas I lost my precision accuray, finding myself looking way to far past my target and then trying to correct it swinging past the target again, and then I was dead! So frustrating.
TESTING THEM OUT:
So now I tried the FPS thingees, and I have to say look sensitivity level 4 is way to slow, in fact I tried 6 and was pinpoint accurate and able to snap look around, again still under complete control of my character movements and aiming. So I was blown away by these, I had to put them to the test. I joined a Free For All game on Modern Warfare 2, and put my look sensitivity up to the "level 10 Insane" setting. Man, I was striking down foes with ease and spinning on a dime accurate. In fact I won the game! While 10 was sllightly a little too fast, I turned it down to 7 and found my sweet spot.
Testing My Skills without them after a week of using them:
Ok, so I take these FPS thingees off, to tet out my old skills.
Guess, what? I could still play on look sensitivity 7! I was like wow, these have trained me to be able to use this high look setting of 7. The only thing is that the nubby joysticks are actually ncomfortable on my fingers, yea that's right they feel "blocky" like a plastic lego. Another thing is that I actually went back to a level 4 after a week, because it was a hassle to try to aim long distance with pinpoint accuracy without the lower setting of 4 and without the FPS thingees.
One thing I liked about them not being on is that I can more easily hit the "back" button to view the score, which really isn't a big deal.
So I kept the FPS thingees off for a week, and I just had to try them again.
Guess what back to level 7 accuracy.
PS> You can still knife just fine with these on.
OVERALL:
Cheap.
Worth the money.
Improved my gameplay. i.e. accuracy, mobility, and scanning a room quickness.
Was not disappointed.
Still use em, still prefer em.
Highly recommend them!

Initially when I saw these, I was skeptical that they would stay on the controller. They snap on very tightly and haven't fallen off in the 2 months they've been on. I got them for my birthday in July and they haven't been off my controller since, other than to see how much they change the way I play. They are awesome. Within one week of having them, my accuracy on COD4 went up .5%. I know that doesn't sound like much, but considering that it has never improved in the 30 days playing time I have amassed, I think speaks for itself. On their site, Kontrol Freek recommends taking them off to see just how much they change the gaming experience. I took them off for a total of 45 seconds while playing COD4 and discovered just how much they change the way you play. I couldn't hit a thing.I'm 35 and I consider these to be one of the best birthday presents I've ever received. I've changed my 360 profile to be a billboard for Kontrol Freek in my bio. These have exceeded all expectations for such a small, inexpensive item. I bought these specifically to gain an advantage in COD MW2. My accuracy has increased dramatically; fewer wasted bullets and faster kills. I actually sped up the control speed, because these enable me to move slowly and accurately. I'm able to consistently nail headshots on running targets using assault rifles from a distance. Awesome! Definitely worth it... I just don't want to tell too many people!Honest reviews on FPS Freek by KontrolFreek (Classic)

I was skeptical about these at first. They take some getting used to, and I only use the one on the right analog stick. But once you get used to them you will wonder how you ever played without them. I play COD MW2. You must also remember to crank up your sensitivity a couple of notches when you use them.Tuesday, January 6, 2015
Discount $100,000 Pyramid - PC
I was thrilled with this game! The graphics are terrific and look just like the show, and the animated celebrites that give you the clues are adorable. Die-hard fans of the $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid will thoroughly enjoy this game, which has to be the most outstanding PC-adaptation of a game show ever made.
However, I found the following weaknesses. Many of these are incredibly minor, but hardcore $100,000 Pyramid fans will appreciate reading them...
1. Others have said this, but it bears repeating: no Dick Clark? What the... C'mon, guys, you can't have the $100,000 Pyramid without Dick Clark! 2. Again, to repeat some of the above reviews: what's with the theme music? If I can find the REAL theme music and somehow replace it, I will. The music they have is *blech*. 3. In the real show, when you get to the winner's circle, you first try for $10,000. Then, if/when you make it a second time, you try for $25,000. Then, the fastest winners are brought back for a tournament to win $100,000. With this game, it's $5,000 then $10,000, then $25,000, then $50,000 then $100,000 (or something like that). Blech. Stay true to the original game show, guys. 4. Clues that the animated celebrites give in the bonus round are often illegal. For example, one time when I played, the subject was "Things that are refrigerated." The celebrity said, "Milk, so it doesn't spoil." On the television show that would be "buzzed." You can only list items; you can't elaborate or get descriptive like that. This happens way too often. 5. On the television show, after each round, whether in the preliminary game or the bonus round, Dick Clark will usually reveal what the real answers were, often times suggesting good clues. Nothing like that happens in this game, and the user is often frustrated by not knowing what he was previously trying to guess. 6. Annoying music plays during the actual game play. Totally unnecessary. During the preliminary rounds there should be no sounds at all except for the "ding" when you get the answer, and during the bonus round, there should be nothing but the "chirps" of the time clock. 7. This is really nit-picky, but the view that you look at during the bonus round is awkward. It looks like you're seeing the winner's circle from the back row of the studio. I'd rather see the same view you see on TV; mainly, a side view of both players, with a cutaway of the current subject block from the board appearing on the bottom in the center. 8. In both the preliminary rounds and the bonus round, the animated celebrities always say little things like, "Impressive!" and "Nice going!" after you type in the right answer. That never happened on TV, and it is a waste of time, not to mention annoying.
To be fair, here are some things that I considered to be pleasant surprises...
1. After you quit each game, there are hilarious little television commercials that play during the closing credits ("Some departing contestants will receive..."). Cute! 2. The game has "7-11" and "Mystery 7" categories, with very authentic-looking logos. Great! 3. The opening sequence has a view of the stage that looks incredibly true to the television show. They even super-impose the words, "The $100,000 Pyramid" over the bonus round playing board, just like in the opening of the television show.
Not hearing Dick Clark say, "Here is your first subject...GO!" and not having the original theme music is disappointing, but all in all, a terrific game, and I look forward to more Sierra versions of classic game shows.
Sound Voices are crisp and clear, and the music is nice, however the classic $100,000 Pyramid theme is not on here. It was replaced with a livelier, jazzier rendition of the theme. I actually prefer the classic 2 themes (the original theme used from the beginning of the $10000 Pyramid to the end of the $50000 Pyramid, and the updated theme used from the beginning of The New $25000 Pyramid to the end of the $100000 Pyramid). You even have the Winner's Circle timer sound ("doot doot doot") which sounds during the last 10 seconds on both the Winner's Circle and in the main game. The only thing missing is the classic "cuckoo" sound for an illegal clue and Dick Clark, especially his classic "So long" sign-off. Score 4.5
Control You use the mouse to choose which civilian character you want, which celebrity partner you want, and which box you want to play. You use the keyboard to type in your name and your answers. You also use the keyboard's TAB key if you want to pass on a subject in either the main game or the Winner's Circle(unlike the actual show, you can come back to passed subjects in the main game). Score 5
Playability You can play one person vs the computer, 2 players against each other, and an option called Party Play (4 players with 2 players on a team). This would make an excellent party game. Score 5
Overall Not having Dick Clark in this game hurts a little because he is the best-known host of the Pyramid show since its inception in 1973 (Bill Cullen did a good job hosting the syndicated weekly $25,000 Pyramid from 1974 to 1979, and John Davidson hosted a slightly updated version of the $100,000 Pyramid from 1991 to 1992). However other than that, this game is a near-exact version of the classic show that is one of my most favorite of all time (other favorites being Match Game [I hope to see the PC version of Match Game soon], Password [I'd love to see a PC version of either Password Plus or Super Password], and The Price Is Right [which has yet to have a good computer/videogame version...a lackluster version appeared on the PC and Commodore 64 in 1990, and a NES version was developed around the same time but never released]). Overall Score 4
The $100,000 Pyramid for the P.C. was released before Donny Osmond came on with the revival of Pyramid. The game features three different versions of Pyramid, Single Play, where you have to get a certain amount of points to get to the Winners' Circle, Double Play, where two people actually play the same way like it is on the game show. Still, it does fall a little bit, without proper speakers. The third version takes the cake however. The party play version, gives a little more of an interactive version that you play with other people, like you're actually on the Pyramid. For that one, you really need to see that, and play it with more than one version. If you get this game, get it for this version of gameplay only.
Still, it would be nice to see Pyramid updated with a newer version, based on the recent revival. I just really hope that happens soon. Still, you're better off playing the version from the television, whether Dick Clark, Bill Cullen, or Donny Osmond is the host. The $100,000 Pyramid is just a fraction of the fun it was suppose to be. Try getting this one used.
Over the years game show fans played various "Pyramid" home games from different manufacturers like the original $10,000 Pyramid box game from Milton Bradley to the current box edition. There was even a PC edition (in DOS format). Now you can play "Pyramid" in several different ways (solo, 2 player & party mode) with this great new CD ROM edition! This game is a must for all PYRAMID fans and anyone who likes word games. And, just in time for the new television edition of $100,000 Pyramid (with Donny Osmond) coming back FALL 2002!
8. Graphics Excellent graphics! The set of the classic game is perfectly recreated with actual fonts that were used on the trilons (aka "flippy boxes"), and the boxes flip just like on the actual show. The characters (civilian players and celebrity players) are nicely animated, but some of their winning animations look overzealous. No Dick Clark in this one, so if you're expecting everything from the classic show, then you'll be slightly disappointed. For a lot of game shows that have came out for the computer, they've always seemed to have a little bit of a blind-slighted feel to most gamers. They always seem to fall just a dash flat for a full-feeling of being in the actual video game. Still, most of them are still willing to find that out one day at a time. With several revamped versions of game shows on P.C. like Jeopardy, Wheel Of Fortune, and other game shows, there is one that actually tries to stand out a little bit, Pyramid. With the success of Pyramid being revived with Donny Osmond, has been an unbelieveable exciting game, but the P.C. game still needs a little fine tuning. The $100,000 Pyramid for the P.C. was released before Donny Osmond came on with the revival of Pyramid. The game is fun but frustrating because the "celebrities" give the same clues over and over again. Which makes it impossible to get the correct answer and prevents you from advancing int he game. I have also run in to the same questions early on in the game.Friday, December 19, 2014
Review of Xbox 360 Repair Kit XCLAMP 3 Red Light Fix X-Clamp RROD Red Ring
I tried this and it did work for the first month. After that I needed to redo it every time before using the XBOX and it would only work for an hour or so.
Tearing open my 360 was honestly more enjoyable then playing the thing. It took a little bit of work but the website tutorial laid it out pretty plainly. Anyone could do it really.
The first time I put it back together, the system booted up like it had never heard of a red ring. It held together for about a week before ultimately red lighting again.
No matter how many fixes, burn-ins, or tricks I tried to pull; there was no bringing it back to life again.

Rayman Origins - with Artbook - Xbox 360 (Standard with Amazon Review
If you're reading this review, you're probably thinking about purchasing Rayman Origins. Stop thinking so hard. If you ever fell in love with Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, or any platformer from the mid to late 90's, this game is for you. Rayman Origins mixes simple platforming, beautiful 2-D art, and imaginative music to create a rich world that really comes to life. The humor is simple and zany but thankfully, they really worked to make it stand as its own IP and not just rely on the Raving Rabids popularity.
GamePlay: What if? What if 2-D platformers had never died off? What would they be like if you combined the simple fun design of platforming but added all of the computational power of current gen systems? Well Rayman answers those questions. Rayman takes the best parts of simple platforming and adds depth to them by bringing the characters and world to life in ways that couldn't be created on lower end hardware. The basic mechanics are jump attack in all directions, butt-stomp, float, and a few other power ups you unlock along the way all add to making Rayman feel and control in a fun and responsive way. When you mess up a jump or get crushed by falling debris, you know why it happened and you never feel that you were cheated. There are many secrets coins and cages to find in each level and they are really are fun to spot. The mosquito 2-D shoot'em-up levels are a blast too. Sucking up enemies and spitting them out adds a nice mechanic on top of the traditional shoot and dodge. Bosses are also ridiculously cool and well designed.
Art: Stunning 2-D drawings and animations bring out the characters and the world. Almost everything on screen is bouncing and moving to the rhythms of the stage. The foregrounds and backgrounds are littered with fun characters. Everything about the art is fantastic. The attention to details and overall quality are reminiscent of classic animated Disney films.
Music: This is where Rayman Origins really shines. The music is just perfect. It captures the tone of each level and really brings excitement to what you are doing and reflects what is going on in the level. It uses real live instruments and crosses many genres. From jungle melodies to jazzy rhythms, Rayman delivers light hearted melodic joy.
Rayman Origins is a gem in the sea of first-person shooters, games about anime dudes with swords, and the rest of the overcompensating, feature bloated, and unimaginatively bland games that come out over and over again. I'd recommend this game to gamers of all ages, its simple enough for kids, but challenging enough to make seasoned platform pros sweat. Support games like this and we can have more of them.
I put about 20 hours into this game and have completed everything. I am actually sad that the game is over. This is one of those rare gems that comes around every once in a blue moon.
I absolutely loved this game and I highly recommend this to everyone. Enjoy!!!
Gameplay is structured like many games from the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo generation. You have "worlds" and stages through which you travel on a big map. Perhaps it is a little homage to founding father Mario. The focus of gameplay is not simply to finish the level but to finish it very quickly while collecting the most Lums you can. Lums are like coins, but they are actually little happy smiling Luminous creatures who laugh every time you collect them. I've found myself running through some levels multiple times in hopes of discovering all the secret areas and hidden items, of which there are many. You will get a special reward for collecting all the items in quickest time possible. This also includes dealing with your enemies in the most efficient way possible.( This is especially enjoyable because everywhere throughout Rayman Origins runs in stable 60 frames per second.)For example you could punch an old wrinkled humanoid toon who then inflates and raises to the air. To get an additional Lum, you can maneuver to jump on it once more. One thing I noticed is that, probably because the game looks as good as it does, it does not have real time dynamic physics. For example there aren't big objects or particles that bounce off other objects or walls. That is not to say there are few special effects and particles everywhere.
Special care has been taken to increase re playability as well. Throughout your journey you unlock many friends whom you can pick at your "home base" to beat the levels. For the most part they are very similar to each other in their abilities, but their appearance is very different. One of Rayman's friends is a blue toad, another is a big nosed elf/troll-like creature. All have their own cool animations.
Sound is pretty good for the most part. If you enjoy cartoony sounds you'll like it more as there are many creatures sounding like Chipmunks. Language in the game is some sort of gibberish language resembling real languages in our world. One character sounds like he is speaking Hindi, a nymph fairy sounds like she is speaking some sort of Norwegian gibberish, another speaks with bits and pieces of English. It is all over the place. On the other hand , to be fair, there are some repetitive sound effects that could become annoying. I personally do not particularly like the South American sounding mandolin or banjo that plays every time the Lums turn red, but overall it is good.
The game also contains stages where you fly. They are made to resemble a scrolling shooter, which actually does its job really well. When I got this game I thought it would actually be pretty short, but it turned out it has close to 60 levels and very high replayability value.
Another aspect of the art in Rayman Origins is that while it is childish, it appears to be oriented toward older gamers or nostalgic gamers. You'll actually see frequent suggestive "naughty" animations or references which kids under 12 just will not understand.
Pros:
-hand drawn animations and backgrounds everywhere
-diverse levels with every color tone and every imaginable taste
-long game
-60 frames per second
-multiple characters and secrets that give reasons to replay the levels
-smart humor old gamers will understand
-up to 4 player coop
-nymphs
Cons:
-No online multiplayer
-Movement and objects are not based on real time physics
Tagline:
Rayman Origins is one of a kind 2D platformer with exceptional art direction. Meticulous attention to smallest details is noticeable. I hope this game gets some awards as it is truly one of the best games of the year.
Note:
If you can, try to get the bundle with the included Ubi-Art Rayman art book. It is a thin hard cover album that came with the pre-order. Very nice souvenir that all your friends will like to look at.

Rayman Origins is one of the best games out in 2011. Made entirely in hand drawn 2d style it is a huge achievement. By 2D I do not mean levels are structured to be viewed from the side and 3d objects are placed throughout, as has been the trend of last ten years, it is actually all hand drawn. The drawings and animations are very detailed and meticulously polished to create a seamless interaction of the player with the very diverse environment. For example in the beginning stages the levels feature earthquakes which cause the platforms to move and grind against each other. You have to run through and past moving plates of solid rock to avoid being squashed. I did not see any spots where either detection area was incorrect or invisible walls, it all seems to make sense in Rayman Origins.Gameplay is structured like many games from the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo generation. Rayman Origins is one of the best games that I have played in a while. For anyone that enjoyed Little Big Planet, this game takes a similar approach in being all about having pure fun. The detail found in the characters and scenery are unlike anything I have ever seen in a game. The music is very catchy as well. I would recommend this game to everyone, but especially to fans of 2D platformers and those looking for a more family-friendly game experience.Sunday, November 30, 2014
Discount Official Guitar Hero World Tour Microphone for PS3 / Wii / Xbox 360
Works great, but remember you need to connect a normal controller to the Xbox as well to use it. You need a normal controller to access menus and etc. The Xbox wont recognize the mic as a controller when you plug it in (it wont light up one of the quarters of the circle) but dont panic, its working fine.
so it would be wise to purchase this mic over other usb logitech mics, except if you want a logitech mic for picking up sound from far away, this mic is best for playing rock band and guitar hero with no lag. it works on the computer too, but its a close range microphone, so it is only ideal for giving a speech, singing, the idea is that you need to hold it close to your mouth for it to pick up sound which makes sense cause it is to prevent feedback, thinks like desktop mics and built in laptop mics or surveillance systems are different types of mics that pic up sound far away.
The mic came within 5 days of ordering in a small package that fit in my mailbox, which was perfect since I wasn't home to get it right away.

I purchased this Guitar Hero World Tour microphone to go with the 2 wireless guitars I have and my rockband drum set. I really like how it is compatible with both Guitar Hero and Rockband and use it with both games. I would prefer it better if it were wireless, but it otherwise works great. It has the weight of a real mic and is used in conjunction with the controller. All I need now is a mic stand and a rocker attitude to go with it.Best Deals for Official Guitar Hero World Tour Microphone for PS3 / Wii / Xbox 360

We needed an additional mic for Wii Rock Band and we were already using the one that came with Rock Band and one that came with Guitar Hero. We figured this one would work great so we could have 3 singers with Green Day and The Beatles. Works wonderful and makes family night a blast since now have 3 singers, 1 drummer and 2 guitars going at the same time :)Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Official Guitar Hero World Tour Microphone for PS3 / Wii / Xbox 360
This microphone is exactly like the one you receive when first purchasing World Tour Guitar Hero. It easily plugs into the usb ports on the front of the PS3 and works right away with no tinkering. The mic came within 5 days of ordering in a small package that fit in my mailbox, which was perfect since I wasn't home to get it right away.

PlayStation 3 60GB System Review
We got our hands on an XBox 360, a PS3, and a Wii on launch day. Each is good at specific tasks. Here is a fully unbiased review of how the PS3 performs as a next generation console unit.
To start with, the PS3, like the XBox 360, supports full high definition. The Wii only supports a lower resolution. Since the Wii has a much lower price tag, that is a fair trade-off for people with a tighter budget. Gamers for whom a very high level of graphic detail is important will have to pony up for that ability.
Along the same lines, the XBox 360 supports the HD format of high definition DVDs for movies, while the PS3 supports the Blu-ray format. If you haven't been following the whole format war for high definition DVDs, I have several articles on the topic on my gaming site. In short it's like the VHS/Beta wars when the VCR first came out. Is one better than the other? Will one format win out as the sole survivor? There's no way to tell. People will argue vehemently that one is better than the other. From a gaming point of view, the PS3 has the Blu-ray BUILT IN meaning every game can have 50 GIGS worth of game information. Think MASSIVELY huge maps, types of characters, etc. The XBox 360 only uses "regular" DVDs as its base game holder, which is about 7 GIG. That is much smaller. You can buy an add-on HD DVD unit for about $100 (shop around they're there at that price) but the storage is still smaller than Blu-ray about 30 gig.
People will argue about graphics until they're blue :) A lot of this comes down to how a specific game company *uses* the ability of the system. Looking at graphics on a tetris-like game will be much different than viewing the graphics of Oblivion or Gears of War. I found 360 graphics amazing on Oblivion. I equally found the PS3 graphics quite impressive on Genji's cut scenes (no enemy crabs in sight). Since both are high definition, I think that both have the same potential in real life terms. Both really shine in terms of fluid motion, precise detail and realism. I've seen it on both systems, on certain games. I've also seen junky graphics on both systems. Both are much better than the Wii.
How about sound? All of these can plug into your stereo system. My boyfriend and I are both musicians. We have decibel meters and other sound-sensing tools. All three systems can create amazingly complex sounds, music, and in general a "gaming environment". Again I think it comes down to specific game makers, how they choose to use or not use that ability. It also comes down to how much you the gamer spent on your stereo system :)
Speaking of sound, I do have to comment that our 360 is quite loud when it runs, despite our many attempts to help it be quieter. The PS3 right out of the box is MUCH quieter. Score 1 point for the PS3.
On the general operating system for the units, all three consoles are going for more of a "general use entertainment system" presentation. The XBox has customizeable tabs that let you download new games, manage your environment and so on. The Wii also has channels that let you organize your gaming world. The PS3 has an interface almost exactly like that of the PSP, complete with cool drifting smoke waves in the background. You choose which area you want to work on game, music, internet connection etc., and drop down to alter whatever feature you're interested in.
So on to the on-line aspect, which most gamers are now fully interested in. Where the XBox 360 makes you buy an external connector for wireless, the PS3 has that built-in on the 60 gig model. The 20 gig model still requires an external connector (these run about $100). All will let you plug in a cable if you're still running a wired household.
[UPDATED JUNE 2007] Back during launch, people thought 20 gig was great and that 60 gig was overkill for a gaming system. After all, the XBox 360 had 20 gig as their top end. Now, only a few months later, Sony has discontinued their 20 gig as "too small". XBox has the Elite model with 120 gig. The difference is as that gamers are converting their focus from audio storage to video storage, and high def video at that. People are downloading and enjoying movies and TV shows on their consoles. It's something to consider, if you will be doing that with your console.
How does the online world work on the PS3? The XBox definitely has the advantage here. Until this generation, *only* the XBox had a thriving community in their live world. The XBox 360 connected right into that XBox Live world, and they boast a *huge* community of gamers who actively gain points, play online and form virtual worlds. The PS3 and Wii both have to play catch-up at this point. Even if they have better interfaces, it's a matter of converting over all those players who have clans, familiarity and high point collections on the XBox world. Imagine if a new MMORPG came out right now that had fantastic graphics. Sure it might be wonderful but will you really get all 800 trillion WOW players to drop their world and characters and friends to convert, especially if it costs more? It'll be a hard, slow sell.
My summary? I definitely think all three have great games and that all three are worth owning. Of course I'm in a position that I *can* afford all three, which many people are not in. For example, I *love* the Zelda series, and I *love* the Final Fantasy series. I would be hard put to tell a person "you need to get Zelda instead of Final Fantasy". I would want the person to have both, because both are great for different reasons. If you really truly can only save up for one of the three consoles, it isn't going to come down to which console is "best" for all players in some sort of a global way. It is going to come down to which console is best for YOU based on your specific gaming style.
If you're on a really tight budget and just want something better than the previous generation, go for a Wii. It's cheap, the graphics are better, and the remotes are great fun. It has Zelda :) If you have a larger budget and really want the high definition, you're now choosing between the 360 and the PS3. You really do have to look at the specifics of each, and think seriously about your gaming style, to see which matches you best. If I were to make a flip summarization, if you really love online gameplay, I'd go with the XBox 360. Its years of head-start really give it a robust environment here. If you are looking for more of a home-based one-machine media center for your MPs3, photos and huge world gameplay, I'd go with the PS3. It definitely has the advantage on large scale games.
Feel free to email me if you have more specific questions, or for screenshots, graphic descriptions, or interface information on any of the three systems.
First, the PS3 is technically superior and more powerful than either the 360 or the Wii. Because of that, there is nothing that the 360 or Wii can do that the PS3 cannot do. And all of the advantages for the 360 (better game lineup and networking) or for the Wii (novel game play) could be overcome by the PS3 given the right amount of time (the PS3 game lineup for next year looks impressive, the networking should improve and the EyeToy coming for PS3 should counter the Wii's advantage).
Second, the PS3 60 GB gives you more for your dollars (even though it will take 600 of them) than the other systems. It includes a BluRay player, a 60 GB hard drive, a memory card reader and WiFi networking. If you tried to build an XBox 360 with the same specifications, it would end up costing you $300 more than the PS3. And the Wii is incapable of meeting these specifications.
Third, the PS3 is reverse compatible with most PS2 games preventing my PS2 library from becoming obsolete overnight.
That said, when I bought the system, I was a bit apprehensive given all of the criticisms that I had heard here and elsewhere. I did have high hopes for the system given its specifications but was afraid of buying the next NeoGeo. After a couple of days of playing, I can say that my expectations have been exceeded and my fears have proven to be unfounded.
I have had the system set up and playing for two days (not continuously of course) on a Samsung 720p/1080i 50" plasma screen with an HDMI hook-up. (Note: There is NO need to buy an HDMI cable over $20. Sony and Monster will try to sell you HDMI cables for almost $100. HDMI relies on a digital signal either you get it or you don't. I bought a $9 cable from an online retailer and have been doing quite well with it.)
I have played Resistance, Fight Night, the Grand Turismo Demo, the Genji demo and the MotorStorm demo. I have used the WiFi connection to play online as well.
The system has its pros and cons but the pros far outweigh the cons.
Pros:
Breathtaking next-gen graphics. The Grand Turismo High Definition demo shows off the power of the PS3. When playing GTHD, you almost forget that you are watching a computer animation the cars and track look entirely lifelike (the spectators not so much). Fight Night shows off impressive flesh reconstructions, lighting and details (e.g. the sweat on a fighter's face, the skin ripples on a knockout punch).
Hassle free wireless networking. There have been some drops but for the most part, the WiFi keeps us downloading and gaming as much as we need it. It provides a web interface and easy access to the PlayStation store and other PS3 users.
Peripheral possibilities. With four USB hookups in the front, the possibilities are many including a PS3 EyeToy and SingStar game.
An impressive 2007 lineup with Tom Clancy's Vegas, Assassin's Creed, Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto and a variety of other games coming out, the future for the PS3 is bright.
Extensive hard drive space. There is no need to skimp on demos or downloads.
BluRay player opens up next gen DVD to our home theater system.
SIXAXIS controllers open up the possibility of a fusion of traditional gaming with motion sensitive gaming.
Cons
Surfing the web with the PS3 WiFi connection is an exercise in frustration. I don't plan to surf the web on the PS3 anyway and this is more of an annoyance than anything else because the network and PlayStation store run quite smoothly on WiFi.
The smooth, plastic casing is a fingerprint and dust magnet. (Really not a big deal at all).
Overall, the PS3 is a solid system with spectacular potential in the hands of the right software developers. It only gets 4 stars for fun (as opposed to 5 overall) right now because of the limited game lineup (which may not be fair since this is a review of the console and not the lineup but a console is nothing without its playable games) but with time, those 4 stars should become 5.
I have a Samsung DLP 50'' that supports full 1080P.
xBox connected via HQ component cables with optical and PS3 via HDMI
I have had an xBox 360 for about 3 months (my first venture away from Sony) and a PS3 for 2 days.
I consider myself well versed on technology but by no means a savant like some of the posters at AVSforums.
The only thing I won't be able to compare right now (but will add it as soon as I get my hands on one) is the 360 HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray for video playback.
See Summary at end if you don't want a detailed review
****Overview*****
Both systems are solid next gen systems but both do come with their faults.
Overall I think the PS3 has greater potential given the undeniable advantage of built in Blu-Ray for games vs. the standard disc format the 360 is designed for. However that potential clearly hasn't been tapped yet. The fit and finish of the 360 is ahead of PS3 at this point.
Menus for 360 are much cleaner than the PSP-like PS3 menu screen.
From an actual physical appearance they are equally an eyesore.
Funny both systems want to be considered home entertainment hubs yet both deserve to be locked up in a closet. Microsoft why on Earth did you make a white box? How many people have white in their Home Theatre components? I suppose I could buy a face plate but don't feel I should have to pay extra to make something not look like a cheap piece of plastic. As for the PS3 I have to admit that I have this lying flat but this is by far the ugliest piece of my home entertainment setup. First off the base with the fan is both shorter an not as deep as the player itself giving it a very ugly boxy look which is only accentuated by the cheap silver material (everyone uses brushed chrome today).
But luckily looks are everything...

I'll start off with a review of games I have played on both systems since well that is why you buy a gaming console.
Games I have played for both would be Madden 07 and NHL 2k7
Games I have played just for PS3 Resistance.
Games I have played just for xBox Tiger Woods 07, GOW, Splinter Cell DA,
Dead Rising, Prey, WSOP, and I'm sure I'm missing a few.
I primarily play sports games and like as real to life gameplay as possible. I don't need the over the top hitting or ridiculous goal scoring. I prefer sports games that give you a true sim experience.
Madden 07 Edge graphics and gameplay PS3 / PS3 has slightly better graphics (just more realistic) and much better gameplay. Granted this is something 360 can catchup to next yr but for now a simple thing like gang tackling which has been sorely missing in football games gives PS3 a big advantage in my book. The player physics are much smoother as well, no more catching a ball and going backwards 5yds which is a huge problem in 360. All the menus or lack thereof and sound is identical to 360 which is a bit dissapointing.
NHL2K7 Graphics edge 360 gameplay big edge PS3 The graphics on 360 vs. PS3 are more detailed and crisp (for instance you can really see the jersey threading on the 360 moreso than the PS3 although you won't complain about the graphics on either.
But gameplay is another story. The PS3 version has much more realistic gameplay. You can actually turn the hitting down to a realistic level and I actually lose to the CPU on a regualar basis which is great. They also tightened up the fighting physics so that you aren't facing the wrong way half the fight. And yes the Sabres have their new uniforms (something every other console missed)
As for Resistance of Man I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of the 1st person shooters but I thought it was OK, graphics were not as good as say Splinter Cell DA or GOW and the game didn't have that WoW factor I was expecting which GOW certainly delivers.
From what I have seen thus far I would give the graphical edge to 360 and gameplay to PS3.
***Ancillary benefits***********
Where 360 has a huge edge is what it does outside of playing games.
xBox live is great (you get what you pay for) and very easy to use.
The PS3 menus are very bland but also easy to use it only took about 10 min to get up and running but the online experience just isn't there yet. I love being able to download game demos with the 360 ( Superman looks great)
One key feature of the 360 that gets little to no pub is the Windows Media Center extender technology. Just the ability to stream video from my Windows XP Media Center PC to my TV via the 360 is worth the price of admission alone. Why no one is talking about this is beyond me.
I can store dozens of movies, on my PC and access them very easily directly from my 360.
As for the Blu-Ray player itself I did watch Talledega nights (or at least as much as I could handle) And am very dissapointed with what is suppose to be 1080P. This looked only slightly better than what my DVD upscaler can produce and not nearly as sharp as regular cable HDTV programming which is only broadcast in 1080i.
Granted this is a small sample size and hopefully will improve but lets just say this won't help quell the negative pub. Blu-Ray has been receiving.
*****Summary**************
As an owner of both let me preface by saying I am satisfied with both systems. What the PS3 lacks in look and feel it makes up for in brute technology ie. built in Blu-Ray.
Both systems are clearly next Gen. I feel the PS3 is probably set up better to be the system that can carry you for the next 5-7 yrs (lets face it the PS2 had a good run) Simply because of the built in Blu-Ray.
Whereas the 360's fit and finish combined with the Media Center Extender technology give it an advantage today not to mention far superior online experience. Still without the HD-DVD drive for games I don't think this has nearly as long a shelf life not to mention the lack of HDMI will eventually catch up to them.
If you don't care about Blu-Ray and are looking for the best system as of right now, go ahead with the 360 you won't be dissapointed.
If you are looking at this as a long term solution )ie. you don't want to buy another system in 2-3 yrs. The PS3 is probably your better bet.
Now could someone kindly design a next-Gen system that physically looks next GEN!!!!!
Hope you found this review helpful, I tried to be truly unbiased in my review.

Where to start.....the PS3 is an engineering masterpiece. There are so many reasons why you should upgrade from the PS2 to PS3. My main motivating factors were Blu-Ray (high-definition video) functionality, Bluetooth wireless controllers (better range and response), internal wireless (for online game-play and updates), HDMI 1.3 output with 1080p output, optical audio, and card slots for loading music, pictures, and video onto the massive 60GB hardrive. Seems expensive, but, in retrospect, its really not, there is a lot of value in the price.Tuesday, September 9, 2014
Cheap TRITTON Kunai Stereo Headset for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS - Red

I've never owned a Mad Catz product, I only know that i've never had a Turtle Beach product last me longer than 30 days. I was actually going to give in and get the Turtle Beach Wii U headset, despite being scared of how it looked, when this headset went on sale for the same price.
Anyways I got it in last night, unpackaged it, the only gripe I have is the packaging was interesting to get open. It looks snazzy, but it's not a practical package. Put it on my head and personally I don't know that i've had anything this comfortable before. I have a large head and after a few hours most headsets begin to hurt my ears and the side of my head because they are pressing inward to much. This is not the case with these.
They feel solid, they aren't too heavy, aren't too light, it seems like they could take a decent beating. They are snazzy, the in line mute control is a godsend after i've been stuck using my iphone headset and couldn't mute anything.
the sound coming from them is great, I feel like there are certain limitations because of the power of the wii u gamepad, possibly it could be louder/ just plugged them into my PC and played some stuff with heavy bass it definitely could be better, but with the power output of the wii u headset it's perfectly fine.
I am very pleased with these and i'm glad I snagged them when I did.
It produces great sound quality as far as speakers, everything is a little flat, but for voice purpose it is perfect.
I never get complaints about not being able to be heard while playing Black Ops 2 on Wii U.

We have tried to get many different headphones to work with our WII's. We purchased two New WII U's and these work great with them. The son also uses them on his phone and tablet. they have good fit and sound quality. My son also likes the microphone feature which he uses often during game play. So far these are well worth the money and I would recommend these when looking for headphones for the WII U. They do not work on the regular WII.Best Deals for TRITTON Kunai Stereo Headset for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS - Red
I bought this mostly to have a headset for the Wii U despite not really needing it since the gamepad can pick up sound. The only problem with that, is the game bad doesn't seem to have very good noise canceling (you can hear people pushing buttons on their gamepad) and from what i've heard of people actually using it while playing online, the volume is very inconsistent due to how the person is holding the gamepad. The TRITTON Kunai was my solution to that problem, and its a good headset. I like the mic is detachable, and it mostly has a good feel. The top cushioning seems a bit awkward, but I get used to it, and while the sides also don't cover my ears completely, it isn't an issue. The two biggest things I look for in a headset are comfort and durability, this thing excels in the durability department (there is a lot of flexibility with the top) and is ok with comfort. It is not the most comfortable headset I have used (that honor goes to my Arena Soundblaster I still use on my PC) but they aren't the worst in that area as well. For the price, it is a good headset that I would recommend if you need a pair for the Wii U.Honest reviews on TRITTON Kunai Stereo Headset for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS - Red

Cheap Yars Revenge
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $14.99

The gameplay in Yars Revenge is addicting, fast paced, and very fun. This Game Boy Color version is much better then the version bundled on the Game Boy Advange with Pong and Asteroids. I know this because I had originally bought Yars Revenge for Game Boy Color used for about 2 bucks. At first, I could't figure out what to do in the game and didn't understand the goal. After I got the hang of this game I was HOOKED!!! It was the best 2 bucks I ever spent. Then, one day I popped the cartrige into my system, and it wouldn't fire up. Attempt after attempt to boot the game up failed: the game had inexplicably stopped working! I had played the game without a problem earlier in the day, too. So, since it broke I thought I'd buy the GBA version....wow, what a rip-off. For 15 bucks I got a slow paced, lower-rez graphics (yes) and much worse version of the game. Don't get me wrong, Asteroids and Pong are allright, but with no high score saves this compilation is lacking. Since the GBA Yars was such a dissapointment I hopped onto Amazon and once again purchased one of the most fun arcade style games EVER: Yars Revenge.
The storyline and main character in this game are very odd and unique. I won't spoil them for you. If you haven't heared of this game already and like arcade games or addicting games, this is a MUST BUY!!! The only downfall is that it won't work on your DS, so you have to bust out a GBA, GBC or original Game Boy to play it! And yes, this Game Boy Color software is backwards compatible with the ORIGINAL Game Boy hardware! How cool is that? I'd love to play this game on an original GB, too bad mine is gone for good :(This one's a classic, folks. I don't remember 'Yar's Revenge' being one of the "bigger name" games on Atari. It wasn't a 'Pac Man' or a 'Space Invaders', but it was definately a fun game. I loved it back then and I love it now. The Game Boy port of the title is excellent. The game is just as I remembered it. The only noticable difference is that the playing field is larger than the Game Boy's screen, meaning it will have to scroll in order to get to the other side. This is a minor footnote, however, and is an obstacle that will quickly be overcome. If you loved this game in the 80's and own a game boy, grab it up!

Buy Super Meat Boy Ultra Edition - PC
I had been watching this game for a bit on Xbox Live Arcade, but hesitated to buy it because I'm mainly a cinematic action gamer, and FPS gamer. However, I made a realization that lately I've been enjoying the smaller more arcadey games. They are easier to pick up and play when I get time now that I'm busy with work and family. So, you could say, SUPER MEAT BOY SAVED MY FAMILY.
No more do I have to spend $60+ on a game that I only play twice! NO MORE, do I have to be slave to hour long cutscenes. SUPER MEAT BOY SAVED MY LIFE.
Get in. Die 249 times. FINALLY reach the end. Win. This game is frustrating, satisfying, aggravating, relaxing, funny, sad, high protein and low fat.
Do yourself a favor, and get Super Meat Boy in some form or another. WHY NOT THIS VERSION? It has things in it which look neat.
You will cry out in agony and frustration. You will play the same level hundreds of times.
But, at the end of the day, you find yourself grinning like an idiot.
You just had the most fun with a game since you had your NES.
Super Meat Boy is the most ridiculous game that has been released in a long while, and therein lies its' charm. It is such a unique, quirky idea, it reminds one of NAMCO's gem, Katamari Damacy. I mean, this is a game about a hunk of meat trying to save his latex girlfriend from a ugly robo-fetus.
What's not to love?
The gameplay is the tightest, best controlled platformer I've ever laid hands on. Each of the hundreds of levels seems like it was meticulously designed for the player, with all the narrow misses and 'I ALMOST HAD IT!'s. The game lasts and lasts forever. If you want to complete the light world (the normal difficulty) and the dark world (the hard difficulty) it will take you hours upon hours. And then there are the hidden bandages that unlock awesome characters (including original ones and ones from other games). The look on my face when I was jumping around these levels as Tim from Braid must have been priceless. In between levels you are often treated to hilarious animated cutscenes setting the stage for the next zone or level. They are great, and it almost seems like Meat Boy could have his own cartoon.
The music deserves its own paragraph. A little bit 8-bit, a little bit metal, a little bit electronica, Meat Boys' music will have you rocking out in no time. From the awesome opening theme to each area's unique song, it's all stuck-in-your-head-humming-it-all-day greatness. And the best part? It comes with the soundtrack.
If you like platformers, you have no reason not to buy Team Meats' baby. It's $20, and for that you're getting one of the best platform games in existence. So go to it, and watch out for all the saw blades! ;)

The Bad: Brutal difficulty, extra characters are hard to unlock
2D platformers are always compared to a 20 year old game known as Super Mario Bros. and they have every right to. That game was flawless and literally created the 2D platforming genre. Super Meat Boy is probably the only game in recent history that comes close to that kind of pixel perfect jumping and tight responsive controls. SMB also has a ton of humor infused with it, and the game is a blast to play and is highly addictive.
You play as Super Meat Boy who is trying to save Bandage Girl from Dr. Fetus. It's a simple story, but its hilarious and the cut scenes are drawn beautifully. The art style is very unique and there's so much detail infused in this game it's nuts. When SMB gets destroyed he splatters his meaty goodness all over the walls and it stays there. He makes a splooshing sound when running and his facial animations are very funny. There are other characters you can unlock by completing warp levels and these guys are just as detailed and have their unique abilities.
The controls in the game are what really surprised me. They're just absolutely perfect. They are super responsive and tight and it feels like your controlling the characters with your fingers instead of buttons. Using the Games for Windows controller (or any other) is essential, but the keyboard works too. Jumping around corners and manuvering though the games brutal levels can be conquered thanks to these tight controls. I'm dead serious about the game being hard because every corner and jump requires extreme precision or you will die 30+ times. Oh sure, you'll die that many times thanks to a quick reset button that has zero loading. What's cool is after you beat the level you get to see a replay of every time you died, so every SMB goes off and you can follow them until the last one makes it. It's awesome, unique, and makes you want to watch every replay and save them for friends to laugh at.
The warp levels bring the graphics back to 8 bit with amazing music and tend to be more challenging than the regular levels. Usually you get to play the characters you will unlock, but game play varies in these levels. You can also find bandages in the regular levels, but these require extra extreme precision (if that's possible), so this game is really for hardcore gamers only. Casual gamers will give up quick and there's no difficulty levels to set. From the frantic boss fights to the constant dishing out of new obstacles to overcome the game ramps up after the first few stages, so you must stay on your toes.
With a crap ton of charming visuals, catchy music, and perfect controls the game shines above all other 2D platformers. It wouldn't hurt to say it's probably the best 2D platformer in the last decade, but the brutal difficulty is very forgiving thanks to the feeling of accomplishment once you trump that level. Try beating the record time to feel even better about that victory! I highly recommend SMB to any platforming fan or even fans of the 16/8 bit eras.
You play as Meat Boy, a lovable wad of meat who is trying to rescue Bandage Girl from being kidnapped by Dr. Fetus. Awesome already isn't it? You must get from point A to point B in each stage while maneuvering sometimes very difficult obstacles. There are 7 worlds to beat, usually with 20 stages each, an additional 20 stages that are more challenging, boss stages, and secret hidden levels. There are extra characters to unlock (many of them you may recognize from other games) and each with their own special ability.
Cons: Tough as nails platformer may be a turn off to some looking to play a casual game. Also, turn back now if you don't want to realize you actually have a potty mouth.

Buy Skylanders Giants Single Character Pack Core Series 2 Gill Grunt
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $9.99
Sale Price: $9.15
Today's Bonus: 8% Off

Gill Grunt inititally didn't appeal to me, and was one of the reasons I was hesitant to get Skylanders. But since he came with the initial starter pack, I couldn't help but have him. He isn't so bad to have though, as he does play decently.
Speed: Slow
Gill Grunt is verrrry slow. Although less pronounced in Giants than in the original Skylander's, his steps are also accompanied by a semi-annoying aquatic squish sound. I digress though; just don't use him for any timed challenges.
Primary Attack:
Gill Grunt's main attack is his wicked looking harpoon. It starts off, much like his pace, very slow. It deals a decent blow, but the gun reloads slowly. Once upgraded, however, they reload much quicker, and are a force to be reckoned with. If you choose the Harpooner upgrade path, you can shoot three harpoons at once, and the harpoons shoot straight through one enemy so it can deal damage to another target.
Secondary Attack:
The secondary ability, and in my opinion the more damaging one, is the water hose. A high powered stream of water knocks back your enemies and deals a constant blow. It starts off with a limited amount of water and the player must wait about ten seconds for it to fill back up but, like most abilities, it just needs to be upgraded to be at its most efficent. If you choose the Water Weaver upgrade path, the hose will deal more damage, the water will never run out, and while using the hose explosive sea creatures can be fired out as well.
Tertiary Attack
Gill Grunt's third ability is not so much an attack as an ability. The water barrels on his back can be used as a jet pack, and greatly increases his speed. This, like the hose, will run out eventually unless you pick the Water Weaver path, unless you use it to travel over water.
Soul Gem
This is definitely a great ability to have! If you hold in the primary attack button for a few seconds, your tiny harpoon will become a giant anchor! This deals a great blow, the only downside is that you can't really load it up and take it with you, as it slows down your movement considerably.
Wow Pow
This plays off your Soul Gem ability. Rather than one anchor, you can shoot off THREE giant anchors. I personally don't have this in game yet, but it seems like it'll come in handy.
Overall
I'd give him a 6/10. He really does come in handy, you just have to put a lot into him first.
The figures are cute and a nice motivational treat for the kids, and unlike the ever increasingly popular "in-game purchases" of other games, you get a physical possession. Since the characters can be used on any platform (Xbox, PS3, 3DS, Wii), it's kind of cool that the figures remember their experience. If you ever get rid of the figures, they can be reset in the game.

Since the characters can be used on any platform (Xbox, PS3, 3DS, Wii), it's kind of cool that the figures remember their experience. If you ever get rid of the figures, they can be reset in the game.

This review isn't about the character in the game so much as the actual toy figure itself. The character seems great, kind of funny and my daughter likes it. But the figure broke on the first day! The harpoon snapped off. We didn't bother to return it because it was just the little harpoon and you can still use it. I am still giving it 3 stars because we do like the character and its not a huge deal. I just wish the figures were made of better quality. And this isn't the first figure we have had break on us, even with very gentle play, not being rough at all . I will try to super glue it and see what happens.
