Drop shot, Auto-aim, Jitter Xbox 360 Modded Controller COD MW3 Reviews
Everytime my son's friends come over to play Xbox they fight over who gets to try out his new controller. We got him one for good grades, and got him a second one for his birthday. He loves these controllers and is always telling me about how much its helped his game. He showed me how it works and it looks like a neat concept. He is one happy camper!Ive had ALOT of different modded controllers. From all different kinds of sites and this is by far the BEST mod ive had. Its fast. Accurate and easy to cycle thru mods. I am extremely satisfied!

Review of Sprint Cars 2: Showdown at Eldora - PlayStation 2
Always been a huge fan of this genre of game and most reviewers do not give the dirt track the respect it deserves. Unfortunately, Sprintcar2 Showdown at Eldora deserves every bad review it gets. I will not get into too many specifics as to why this game should never have been released but here's what SAE offers.
-The same tracks as Sprintcar Road to Knoxville
-The same models and paint schemes for the Modifieds, Midgets and Sprintcars as RTK
-Three new classes Prostock, Latemodel and Wingless Sprintcar (all with paint schemes that look like they took as long to name as they did to complete.
-A Tractor pull mini game (Don't laugh, it's the best thing you will get for your $19.96!)
Sounds like Big Ant just added to an OK game and no harm right? Wrong! What was smooth, fast racing in RTK is now so jittery with a frame rate flucuating like my waistline during the holidays that it completely unplayable even with everything (including all sound turned off.) Also, don't bother starting a career, I had a driver win every race in a series and still finish 6th and under a different name.
If you are even considering purchasing this game please consider games such as Saturday Night Speedway, World of Outlaw 2002, NASCAR Dirt to Daytona and yes even Sprintcar Road to Knoxville.

This game is far from perfect, however it provides the best available video game dirt track action for race fans. Until someone makes a game with dirt late models, sprint cars, and modifieds for PS3/360, this is the game to get.Best Deals for Sprint Cars 2: Showdown at Eldora - PlayStation 2
I was a big fan of the World of Outlaws PS2 game that came out in 2002 and Road to Knoxville when that came out in 2006. This version really has a lot more to do. They've added late models, pro stock and wingless sprints. The new challenge mode is fun and the tractor pull, while pretty simple, is cool because you can post your pulls to their website. Discount $100,000 Pyramid - PC
I was thrilled with this game! The graphics are terrific and look just like the show, and the animated celebrites that give you the clues are adorable. Die-hard fans of the $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid will thoroughly enjoy this game, which has to be the most outstanding PC-adaptation of a game show ever made.
However, I found the following weaknesses. Many of these are incredibly minor, but hardcore $100,000 Pyramid fans will appreciate reading them...
1. Others have said this, but it bears repeating: no Dick Clark? What the... C'mon, guys, you can't have the $100,000 Pyramid without Dick Clark! 2. Again, to repeat some of the above reviews: what's with the theme music? If I can find the REAL theme music and somehow replace it, I will. The music they have is *blech*. 3. In the real show, when you get to the winner's circle, you first try for $10,000. Then, if/when you make it a second time, you try for $25,000. Then, the fastest winners are brought back for a tournament to win $100,000. With this game, it's $5,000 then $10,000, then $25,000, then $50,000 then $100,000 (or something like that). Blech. Stay true to the original game show, guys. 4. Clues that the animated celebrites give in the bonus round are often illegal. For example, one time when I played, the subject was "Things that are refrigerated." The celebrity said, "Milk, so it doesn't spoil." On the television show that would be "buzzed." You can only list items; you can't elaborate or get descriptive like that. This happens way too often. 5. On the television show, after each round, whether in the preliminary game or the bonus round, Dick Clark will usually reveal what the real answers were, often times suggesting good clues. Nothing like that happens in this game, and the user is often frustrated by not knowing what he was previously trying to guess. 6. Annoying music plays during the actual game play. Totally unnecessary. During the preliminary rounds there should be no sounds at all except for the "ding" when you get the answer, and during the bonus round, there should be nothing but the "chirps" of the time clock. 7. This is really nit-picky, but the view that you look at during the bonus round is awkward. It looks like you're seeing the winner's circle from the back row of the studio. I'd rather see the same view you see on TV; mainly, a side view of both players, with a cutaway of the current subject block from the board appearing on the bottom in the center. 8. In both the preliminary rounds and the bonus round, the animated celebrities always say little things like, "Impressive!" and "Nice going!" after you type in the right answer. That never happened on TV, and it is a waste of time, not to mention annoying.
To be fair, here are some things that I considered to be pleasant surprises...
1. After you quit each game, there are hilarious little television commercials that play during the closing credits ("Some departing contestants will receive..."). Cute! 2. The game has "7-11" and "Mystery 7" categories, with very authentic-looking logos. Great! 3. The opening sequence has a view of the stage that looks incredibly true to the television show. They even super-impose the words, "The $100,000 Pyramid" over the bonus round playing board, just like in the opening of the television show.
Not hearing Dick Clark say, "Here is your first subject...GO!" and not having the original theme music is disappointing, but all in all, a terrific game, and I look forward to more Sierra versions of classic game shows.
Sound Voices are crisp and clear, and the music is nice, however the classic $100,000 Pyramid theme is not on here. It was replaced with a livelier, jazzier rendition of the theme. I actually prefer the classic 2 themes (the original theme used from the beginning of the $10000 Pyramid to the end of the $50000 Pyramid, and the updated theme used from the beginning of The New $25000 Pyramid to the end of the $100000 Pyramid). You even have the Winner's Circle timer sound ("doot doot doot") which sounds during the last 10 seconds on both the Winner's Circle and in the main game. The only thing missing is the classic "cuckoo" sound for an illegal clue and Dick Clark, especially his classic "So long" sign-off. Score 4.5
Control You use the mouse to choose which civilian character you want, which celebrity partner you want, and which box you want to play. You use the keyboard to type in your name and your answers. You also use the keyboard's TAB key if you want to pass on a subject in either the main game or the Winner's Circle(unlike the actual show, you can come back to passed subjects in the main game). Score 5
Playability You can play one person vs the computer, 2 players against each other, and an option called Party Play (4 players with 2 players on a team). This would make an excellent party game. Score 5
Overall Not having Dick Clark in this game hurts a little because he is the best-known host of the Pyramid show since its inception in 1973 (Bill Cullen did a good job hosting the syndicated weekly $25,000 Pyramid from 1974 to 1979, and John Davidson hosted a slightly updated version of the $100,000 Pyramid from 1991 to 1992). However other than that, this game is a near-exact version of the classic show that is one of my most favorite of all time (other favorites being Match Game [I hope to see the PC version of Match Game soon], Password [I'd love to see a PC version of either Password Plus or Super Password], and The Price Is Right [which has yet to have a good computer/videogame version...a lackluster version appeared on the PC and Commodore 64 in 1990, and a NES version was developed around the same time but never released]). Overall Score 4
The $100,000 Pyramid for the P.C. was released before Donny Osmond came on with the revival of Pyramid. The game features three different versions of Pyramid, Single Play, where you have to get a certain amount of points to get to the Winners' Circle, Double Play, where two people actually play the same way like it is on the game show. Still, it does fall a little bit, without proper speakers. The third version takes the cake however. The party play version, gives a little more of an interactive version that you play with other people, like you're actually on the Pyramid. For that one, you really need to see that, and play it with more than one version. If you get this game, get it for this version of gameplay only.
Still, it would be nice to see Pyramid updated with a newer version, based on the recent revival. I just really hope that happens soon. Still, you're better off playing the version from the television, whether Dick Clark, Bill Cullen, or Donny Osmond is the host. The $100,000 Pyramid is just a fraction of the fun it was suppose to be. Try getting this one used.

This game is a must for all PYRAMID fans and anyone who likes word games. And, just in time for the new television edition of $100,000 Pyramid (with Donny Osmond) coming back FALL 2002!

Graphics Excellent graphics! The set of the classic game is perfectly recreated with actual fonts that were used on the trilons (aka "flippy boxes"), and the boxes flip just like on the actual show. The characters (civilian players and celebrity players) are nicely animated, but some of their winning animations look overzealous. For a lot of game shows that have came out for the computer, they've always seemed to have a little bit of a blind-slighted feel to most gamers. They always seem to fall just a dash flat for a full-feeling of being in the actual video game. Still, most of them are still willing to find that out one day at a time. With several revamped versions of game shows on P.C. like Jeopardy, Wheel Of Fortune, and other game shows, there is one that actually tries to stand out a little bit, Pyramid. With the success of Pyramid being revived with Donny Osmond, has been an unbelieveable exciting game, but the P.C. game still needs a little fine tuning.The $100,000 Pyramid for the P.C. was released before Donny Osmond came on with the revival of Pyramid. I don't trust these reviews on here. I just got mine today and I can tell you its the flimsiest, crapiest quality controller I've ever held in my hands. Doesn't feel anything like the real thing. Buttons feel like they are going to fall off any second. These reviews on here look planted. You got one guy saying that hes super happy and that the middle buttons are actually rubber. The middle buttons are not rubber they are plastic. Moreover you have people saying that this controller is not a Tomee controller but actually a Retrolink controller which is also completely false. This is indeed a Tomee controller. This was probably some attempt by Tomee to slander Retrolink. If you look up the retrolink controller it has their brand name written on the controller and this one clearly doesn't. If you are going to get an NES controller, I've heard good things about the retrolink, haven't tried it but the reviews that I read for it have been good. Don't get this one, it is utter crap.

I recently purchased this controller. It worked perfectly for about 40 days, then ceased to function. Contacted seller about returning, but was informed that warranty is only for 30 days and they would not accept any returns or exchanges. Absolutely true to the original NES controller, I really enjoyed it for two weeks. Certainly wasn't any where near as rough on it as I was when I was ten either, but its buttons started to only function intermittently, and then it stopped working entirely. I suspect the USB power internal to the controller isn't connected anymore, and I'll probably get around to soldering it up at some point, but hardware troubleshooting is a bit beyond me.Playing Zelda through again was worth the 30 bucks. I hope you make a sturdier one of these at some point, brilliant piece of hardware.

I got 4 usb controllers so my family could play Dr. Mario, the NES still works but requires 20 minutes of blowing on the cartridge/other voodoo, so I though these would be a worthy upgrade. At their best they don't work that well, with random jumps and pulls, at their worst you press down and they pull all the way to the right, making games unplayable. Disappointing, you would think today's technology would be able to replicate that of 20+ years ago. I had already disassembled my 360 slim when I ordered these Torx screwdrivers so I can't comment on the tool that they sent to help me disassemble the 360 but the screwdrivers worked just fine. I bought these tools to dissect my Xbox and replace the dead DVD drive. This plus a nice walk-through that I found online made replacing the drive a 1/2 hour job. I imagine that getting the case apart would be very hard without the opening tool since you need to press in on about 4 or 5 tabs at once. Buy PlayStation 3 80GB MotorStorm Bundle
This system is incredible. By now you either love it or hate it, so I won't go into details. But here's a word of warning on the 80 GB model. The backwards compatibility is very much reduced from the 60 GB model. This is because the 80 GB lacks the hardware that previous models use to play PS1 and PS2 games (Emotion Engine). Now, games from old systems run on emulation software. While this works with some titles, others don't work right at all. Sony promises to release patches with future system updates, but they've also said their priority will be with developing PS3 games and not spending time and energy on PS1 and 2.
So if backwards compatibility is a big selling point for you, get the 60 GB model instead (while they're still around...remember they've been discontinued). Also noteworthy is that hard drives on the 60 GB model are fully upgradable with any HDD drive on the market.
Let me restate this, however. The PlayStation 3 really IS the greatest console of this generation. It's power and capabilities are just downright colossal.
First getting my hands on the PS3 made me realize that this is the largest Playstation conosle by volume and weight they have ever come out with. I quickly realized how sturdy and well made this product is. The plastic that is used is solid and heavy duty. I also realized how easy dust and fingerprints attract to the shiny finish which is both plastic and fake chrome. Connecting the PS3 was the easy part. Unlike the Wii and 360 Sony has left the power station inside the console. Which means you only need one heavy duty plug to connect. From the back of the console you have many choices for video and audio outputs. The standard AV outlet is there which allows you to play with the cables it comes with or to buy component cables for high definition viewing. You also have a optical digital output for full digital sound. New to any video game console is HDMI output. This allows you to have the PS3 in full high definiton video and audio. HDMI is capable of a full digital signal allowing 1080p true high definition picture. It is also capable of unleashing 7.1 high definition sound. So audiophiles should be happy about what this console offers. On the front end you get three memory card slots which are hidden behing a plastic door...so as to not diminish the appearance of the PS3. Also they included four USB outlets. This allows you to connect various devices like a photo camera, internet camera, mouse, or even a printer. The Sony PS3 has a feature that allows it to be on standby at all times. Which is similar to the other consoles. I will talk more about this feature on the PS3 further in the review.
I would like to cover all the interface options the PS3 accompanies seperately so consumers can become aware of all the advantages this console carries. For those of you familiar with the Playstation Portable this interface is almost exactly the same.
You are able to create seperate logins for anyone who uses the PS3. This allows for each person to go online with their information. Although it doesn't really have many more advantages than that right now it is rather insignificant.
Next is the system settings. This allows the user to adapt the PS3 to their television and sound system. You can adjust the high defention settings to fit the maximum resolution of your t.v. You also have setting for your blue tooth devices and internet connections. The PS3 comes with built in wi-fi which seems to have a strong connection that gives you almost seamless online use.
The PS3 also has a photo viewer. You can download photos by two different means. One is by using your camera and connecting it via USB. I haven't checked to see how viable this option is. Next you can download the pictures with a memory card. This operation is rather simple and downloads are quick. Generally you get your standard slide shows although they have a fun feature. It allows you to view your pictures on a blank canvas as they fall onto the blank canvas. Slide shows are best when you set them to your music.

I want to talk about one of the most notorious features of the PS3. The Bluray player. Most of you now know what a Bluray player is and does. I have viewed numerous movies on it. I have also viewed these movies on two different hdtv's. One a 1080p and a 1080i. I really did not notice much of a picture difference. After viewing a few movies on the XBox 360 hddvd player and the PS3 Bluray player I really did not notice much of a difference. One thing I have noticed about hd movies is that the ones more than a couple years older have a slightly grainy appearance since they were remastered for high definition. Newly made movies appear crystal clear with vivid colors and tremoundous definition. The PS3 does allow you to view regular DVD's which can make the transition that much easier. The regular DVD movies are upscaled on your HDTV allowing an excellent picture. For many of the new movies it is almost difficult to notice a difference in a DVD picture and Blu-ray picture.
Now would be the gameplay part of the interface. This keeps track of the game disc you may have in the player or also games or demos that you have downloaded. This interface is rather simple and easy to negotiate. For any PS2 owner it also carries your virtual memory card with all your game data. As far as the games go I have played numerous games plus several demos. The games that are non exclusive like Madden Football are deficent on the PS3 compared to XBox 360 counterparts. The game speed is smooth and polished. The visuals on exclusive PS3 games like Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank is quite impressive. The PS3 seems to create a living vivid environment with the ability to create many textures and surfaces. Game demos like Motorstorm and Gran Turismo HD show what the PS3 is capable of. Amazing graphics and sound quality will become apparent in many of the games this holiday season and beyond. I have also enjoyed the few full games that are downloadable. The games have enhanced hd graphics and are affordable at only $7.99-$9.99. What I have enjoyed is online gaming. With the PS3 you don't have to pay any added fees. The gameplay was seamless and quick and allows you to use a blue tooth headset when playing. I also believe you can use your PS2 headset via USB. The online gaming is virtually the same as the 360.

Of course the largest feature is the Playstation store. Which is obviously not very unique. The 360 has a market which could be considered the pedigree for consoles. The store will continue to grow and has a nice feature that allows you to dowload PSone games for the Playstation Portable (PSP). When your PSP is integrated into your PS3 you have the ability to view and listen to stuff on your PS3 anywhere in the world with your PSP. All you need is a wifi connection. I have tried this feature out and it's really enjoyable. I was able to view movie trailers and listen to my music on my PSP. The feature is nice although it is supposed to work when the PS3 is on standby. It did not work for me then. Only when the PS3 was on and set for remote play.
There are also two features that are becoming more apparent for owners. Folding at Home is a beneficial program that works with Stanford University. The program runs when your PS3 is idle. What it does is run computations that help scientists work for many cures to diseases. A beneficial plus to the PS3. I can vouch for having my PS3 on nonstop 24 hours a day 7 days a week for many months without any problems. Secondly I want to talk about HOME. No not your real home but the PS3 program that will be available early 2008. This program will be a virtual online social interface allowing you to meet numerous other PS3 players. I have been allowed to participate on the Beta version and I must say this has extreme potential.
2008 will be an exciting year for PS3 owners. The experience is already excellent with over a dozen very good games. The PS3 will have over a half dozen superb games releasing next year. Games like Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy are just the beginning. If any of these games suit you it would be an excellent reason to own a PS3.
In closing I will say without a doubt the PS3 has been quite an experience. I feel the $500 is well worth it for the features you get. Wifi, Bluray, memory card readers, HDMI, and of course the game playing.
I believe many of you are on the fence and trying to justify a large scale purchase like this. The games are here and the experience is superb. If you want a wonderful living room centerpiece that will provide numerous hours of use the PS3 is the way to go.
One of the hardware reduction is EE+GS removal which is responsible for PS and PS2 backward compatibility. Now the new 80G system's backward compatibility will rely on software emulation. We all know dedicated hardware is better than software emulation. So this raises a little concern.
Other hardware modifications for cost reduction are consolidation of some ICs into a single chip and moving to smaller 65nm die cell processor. This will reduce the complexity of the board. Also smaller die means less power consumption which also means less heat dispassion from the components.
So whether you want to buy new 80G system or phasing out 60G system is up to how you feel about the hardware changes. If removal of backward compatibility hardware concerns you, buy 60G system before it's all gone, not to mention it's $100 cheaper. If you think additional 20G hard drive space (which really isn't much) is important to you, buy 80G system. 80G system probably runs much cooler too. Either way it's a great system.

The Wii is really fun to play, really, really fun. The enjoyment level of being immersed with the controller in even hokey ways (Super Mario Galaxy) is a nice change from the same gameplay/controllers we've seen repackaged since the PS1 days except in shinier packages.
That said, I do get tired of it (literally in some cases!) after a while, and yes, yearn for 'eye candy'. It's silly, and maybe I'm a bit shallow but it's true.
The XBox 360 has delivered on the eye candy side of the equation with games like Gears of War, Halo 3, and Mass Effect (I have yet to pick up Mass Effect however). But, the more I play the 360, the more I feel like I should be playing these games on a PC. It seems to lack the same charm a game console has. Also, our 360 has already been replaced once due to the "Ring of Death", and ever since my wife got bored playing Viva Pinata, we do not really turn it on much except to play HD-DVDs. It's incredibly loud as well, which means that using it for Media Playback is non-optimal (in our room anyway).
So, hearing of games coming out shortly for the PS3 that is starting to flex that system's muscle, I decided to pick one up.
I wanted to pick up Motorstorm, so the 80GB package seemed ideal. Especially due to the fact that I do not have any PS2 games. So backwards compatibility is a non-issue for me.
I took it home and unpacked it. This system is SUBSTANTIAL. WOW. You do feel like you got your $499 worth in weight anyway. That is until you feel the controller. Sorry, but the XBox 360 controller FAR exceeds the ergonomics of the SixAxis. The weight (or lack thereof) of the SixAxis makes it feel really flimsy in comparison. In addition, my hands feel cramped. Maybe due to the XBox being developed in the US, it was developed for American sized hands. I am Indian (as in from India) by ethnicity so it's not like I'm a 6'5" cowboy from Texas!
Put it next to the 360 in my cabinet. The 360 looks very cheap, but the PS3 has a very odd design to it that just doesn't 'fit right' with anything else. Very odd shape and dimensions. I like Matte finishes on things (does not distract from what the star should be -the picture on the TV) and the (dare I say it?) blingy exterior of the PS3 is a distraction. I'd prefer something low key, personally.
First really big disappointment? This Hi-Def system doesn't come with any hi-def cables. So, they put in a HD Blu-Ray drive, and the system excels at rendering 1080p graphics but they give you an RCA AV cable that would have been cutting edge in the SNES days. Right.
So, an extra $30 later, I have the PS3 hooked up via component cabling to my rear projection TV (no HDMI for that set). The system has a huge update to download once I setup Wifi (which was pretty standard, and easy). I leave it and come back and my system refuses to start up. Or something. For some reason, it appears that it chose a video mode that my TV didn't like after the reboot. Strange. So I hold the power button down for 5 seconds and it reboots into 480 mode. It starts the system update, and another 10 minutes go by before it's ready to use. I set the 1080i mode again and it seems fine in subsequent reboots. Maybe that was a glitch in the system software that it leaves the factory with *shrug*.
I have a PSP, so the PS3 interface is familiar to me. It looks a bit "programmer art" to me on the PS3 for some reason however. Maybe because at 1080i it looks like a lot of monochromatic icons and text shoved onto the screen. I find the 360's UI easier to read and navigate, but really ugly due to the ads and explosions of colors. Somewhere, in between the PS3 UI and the 360's is perfection. Neither has it, though for now, I'd give the 360 the slight advantage.
I browsed the Sony online store for a little bit. Seemed very much like it was trying to be a web browser interface rather than a console UI. It would feel at home to almost any PC user. But is a little odd when you're on a gaming machine. Microsoft gets this part right as well.
Now, the games. I don't have a Blu-Ray disc to test at the moment for movies, but my system did come with Motorstorm. So, I popped it in. First thing I notice is that loads are not as smooth as the 360's. Loading animations have a lot of jerkiness to it, and the game seems to take a lot longer to load than just about any 360 game I have. Now, since this is my only PS3 game this could just be an issue with Motorstorm.
But once I get into the game, I am blown away. Neither Gears, nor Halo 3 blew me away much in-game. Sure, they had some really nicely rendered in-game cinematics (which in Gears would cause frame rate hitching) but Motorstorm is jut gorgeous. The ground deforms, the terrain looks almost photorealistic at times (blur your vision a tiny bit and it starts looking real). I was actually impressed, and was prepared to be a skeptic.
The bad part came after a bit of play time. The controller feels really weird in my hands. The pseudo-triggers modeled after the 360s at the bottom of the SixAxis feels wrong. My hands start to cramp up after a while. I just may have to learn how to grip the thing a little less brutishly. So, I'll continue to play with it. But picking up the 360 controller afterwards, I'm amazed at how that controller fits me like a glove. I also like the staggered analog sticks on the 360. Feels right. I do miss rumble a bit. It's nice feedback.
I went from feeling like I wasted almost $600 (when you factor in an extra controller and the $30 component cables) to feeling pretty good about my purchase. I think the system has a lot of potential. I have yet to play anything multiplayer, but the 360's implementation of Live has probably set the bar here. BUT, the Sony service is FREE. I resent having to pay Microsoft $50 a year.
As to how it stacks up against the 360? Well, I like that I didn't have to pay for WiFi (saved $90), but hated that I had to pay for component cables ($30). I like that I get a hi-def player with the set (almost $200 extra with the 360), and the larger HDD. I like that the system doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner when playing games or movies. But I like the game selection on the 360 *MUCH* more as of today. I dislike the PS3 controller. I dislike in particular, Sony's attitude. It took me a really long time to even warm up to purchasing this box because I really do dislike Sony.
But in the final tally, this is really one impressive machine. But is that enough to make it a better system than the 360, who seems to be getting the best games right now? Doubtful really. Last generation the XBox was the superior machine tech wise. But the PS2 annihilated it in the marketplace. This time, we may see a role reversal. If the 360's hardware was stable, reliable, and quiet it would be a much better box. But as of right now, I'd say the 360 is just a slightly better system because of the games it has.
The Wii is the wildcard in all of this. I find it to be the most enjoyable system of the three currently due to the top notch Mario titles (Galaxy and Paper Mario). Nintendo really is trying something different and the system is *fun*. But the hardcore gamer will probably feel something is missing from their diet if it was the only system that they purchased. Get a 360 or PS3 to balance your gaming needs.
I was torn between getting my own 360 Elite, and this system. I took a very hard look at both, and backed both out of my shopping cart multiple times. A number of factors went into my final decision to purchase the Playstation 3.
1. I am a PC gamer first and foremost. My gaming rig with an Intel Quad and an 8800 is my primary platform, and likely always will be. It also means that owning an 360 is a little redundant, as most of the killer apps for that system are also available for the PC. The only exceptions are 360 exclusives like Mass Effect and some (few) games that simply run better on the 360 (Madden '08). Generally speaking, though, having a top-flight PC cancels out a lot of the benefit of owning a 360.
2. The sheer value of the Playstation 3 at this time. As stated by other reviews, $499 gets you a game console, a Blu-Ray player, a media center that can wirelessly connect (out of the box) and stream from your libraries on any Windows Media Player 11 PC, free multiplayer access through PSNet, and far and away the most powerful computer you can get for under a grand (type "Cell BE" into Wikipedia and read up). It's a fully-capable entertainment center and media hub that can power your 1080p/7.1 Home Theatre straight out of the box and it may be the single biggest reason that Blu-Ray will likely win the format war.
With the 360, you pretty much just get the game console ($399-499 if you want the hard drive and HDMI). Want to watch HD-DVDs? Have to buy the extra drive ($150-200). Want wireless networking? Have to buy the wireless adapter ($50-100). Heck, want to play your games while charging your wireless controller? Have to buy the play-and-charge kit ($20). Even XBOX Live, outstanding as it is, costs and extra 5 bucks a month. Geez, Microsoft.
3. The expanding game library. I'm no "fanboy" XBOX at this moment has a superior game lineup. Mass Effect almost made me buy the 360 by itself, and even though I'll be able to play it on my housemate's console, it still kills me not to own it. ;) But 2008 is shaping up to be an outstanding year for Sony's monster. With Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank, Sony finally has some jealousy-inspiring exclusives. It only gets better as the year goes on Final Fantasy XIII, Home, LittleBigPlanet, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, etc. Game devs and their tools are finally catching up with the Cell BE and that's something to be excited about.
4. Interoperability. I have the PSP, and it can do some pretty wondrous things with the PS3, from streaming media to playing downloaded games. I also plan to get a Sony HD Camcorder that uses the AVCHD format, and the PS3 supports it natively. I have the Sony Ericsson Walkman phone. All these things can work with the Memory Stick Pro Duo from PS3 to PSP to my phone to my PC, I can access movies, pics, MP3s, you name it. That is extremely handy for me. Now, not everyone has that kind of Memory Stick-centric lifestyle, but lemme tell you apart from being annoyed with Sony's penchant for proprietary hardware, it's a beautiful synergy when you do play along. Everything just works.
5. The Red Ring of Death. The new 360 have supposedly solved this problem, and they very likely have, but I won't lie... it was a huge worry for me. My housemate's 360 was out of commission for a month while he had it sent in for repairs. I didn't want that sort of headache. The PS3 doesn't have that sort of recallable flaw, and it's really a load off the mind.
Those were my reasons for buying the Playstation 3, and I was not disappointed in any sense once I got it home and set it up. It's a substantial, attractive, well-engineered piece of hardware, and you're in awe of it as soon as you take it out of the box. After a firmware update and a couple of downloads, I was browsing my entire MP3, video, and photo library wirelessly, and it looked and sounded great streamed right off my PC. I read a couple of my favorite internet forums from the comfort of my couch. I downloaded game demos while playing Ratchet and Clank (great game, by the way). And when I got off for the night, I turned on Folding@Home and did something for humanity :)
If gaming is all you want, and if you don't have a cutting-edge PC, perhaps the 360 and it's killer game lineup is a better option. In all other aspects, Playstation 3 is unbeatable. It's a technophile's dream and an A+ piece of hardware with vast potential, even now and into the immediate future. It's an amazing machine, an evolution of the gaming console, and I for one am proud to say I own a Playstation 3.
So if backwards compatibility is a big selling point for you, get the 60 GB model instead (while they're still around...remember they've been discontinued). Also noteworthy is that hard drives on the 60 GB model are fully upgradable with any HDD drive on the market.
Let me restate this, however. The PlayStation 3 really IS the greatest console of this generation. It's power and capabilities are just downright colossal.

For all of you considering the PS3 this is one of the best choices you can make when it comes to home entertainment. Gaming and multimedia are taken to the next level.First getting my hands on the PS3 made me realize that this is the largest Playstation conosle by volume and weight they have ever come out with. I quickly realized how sturdy and well made this product is. The plastic that is used is solid and heavy duty. You also have a optical digital output for full digital sound. New to any video game console is HDMI output. This allows you to have the PS3 in full high definiton video and audio. HDMI is capable of a full digital signal allowing 1080p true high definition picture. It is also capable of unleashing 7.1 high definition sound. So audiophiles should be happy about what this console offers. On the front end you get three memory card slots which are hidden behing a plastic door...so as to not diminish the appearance of the PS3. Also they included four USB outlets. This allows you to connect various devices like a photo camera, internet camera, mouse, or even a printer. The Sony PS3 has a feature that allows it to be on standby at all times. Which is similar to the other consoles. I will talk more about this feature on the PS3 further in the review.

I wanted to pick up Motorstorm, so the 80GB package seemed ideal. Especially due to the fact that I do not have any PS2 games. So backwards compatibility is a non-issue for me.
I took it home and unpacked it. This system is SUBSTANTIAL. WOW. You do feel like you got your $499 worth in weight anyway. That is until you feel the controller. Sorry, but the XBox 360 controller FAR exceeds the ergonomics of the SixAxis. The weight (or lack thereof) of the SixAxis makes it feel really flimsy in comparison. In addition, my hands feel cramped. Maybe due to the XBox being developed in the US, it was developed for American sized hands. I am Indian (as in from India) by ethnicity so it's not like I'm a 6'5" cowboy from Texas!
Put it next to the 360 in my cabinet. The 360 looks very cheap, but the PS3 has a very odd design to it that just doesn't 'fit right' with anything else. Very odd shape and dimensions. I like Matte finishes on things (does not distract from what the star should be -the picture on the TV) and the (dare I say it?) blingy exterior of the PS3 is a distraction. I'd prefer something low key, personally.
First really big disappointment? This Hi-Def system doesn't come with any hi-def cables. So, they put in a HD Blu-Ray drive, and the system excels at rendering 1080p graphics but they give you an RCA AV cable that would have been cutting edge in the SNES days. Right.
So, an extra $30 later, I have the PS3 hooked up via component cabling to my rear projection TV (no HDMI for that set). The system has a huge update to download once I setup Wifi (which was pretty standard, and easy). I leave it and come back and my system refuses to start up. Or something. For some reason, it appears that it chose a video mode that my TV didn't like after the reboot. Strange. So I hold the power button down for 5 seconds and it reboots into 480 mode. It starts the system update, and another 10 minutes go by before it's ready to use. I set the 1080i mode again and it seems fine in subsequent reboots. Maybe that was a glitch in the system software that it leaves the factory with *shrug*.
I have a PSP, so the PS3 interface is familiar to me. It looks a bit "programmer art" to me on the PS3 for some reason however. Maybe because at 1080i it looks like a lot of monochromatic icons and text shoved onto the screen. I find the 360's UI easier to read and navigate, but really ugly due to the ads and explosions of colors. Somewhere, in between the PS3 UI and the 360's is perfection. Neither has it, though for now, I'd give the 360 the slight advantage.
I browsed the Sony online store for a little bit. Seemed very much like it was trying to be a web browser interface rather than a console UI. It would feel at home to almost any PC user. But is a little odd when you're on a gaming machine. Microsoft gets this part right as well.
Now, the games. I don't have a Blu-Ray disc to test at the moment for movies, but my system did come with Motorstorm. So, I popped it in. First thing I notice is that loads are not as smooth as the 360's. Loading animations have a lot of jerkiness to it, and the game seems to take a lot longer to load than just about any 360 game I have. Now, since this is my only PS3 game this could just be an issue with Motorstorm.
But once I get into the game, I am blown away. Neither Gears, nor Halo 3 blew me away much in-game. Sure, they had some really nicely rendered in-game cinematics (which in Gears would cause frame rate hitching) but Motorstorm is jut gorgeous. The ground deforms, the terrain looks almost photorealistic at times (blur your vision a tiny bit and it starts looking real). I was actually impressed, and was prepared to be a skeptic.
The bad part came after a bit of play time. The controller feels really weird in my hands. The pseudo-triggers modeled after the 360s at the bottom of the SixAxis feels wrong. My hands start to cramp up after a while. I just may have to learn how to grip the thing a little less brutishly. So, I'll continue to play with it. But picking up the 360 controller afterwards, I'm amazed at how that controller fits me like a glove. I also like the staggered analog sticks on the 360. Feels right. I do miss rumble a bit. It's nice feedback.
I went from feeling like I wasted almost $600 (when you factor in an extra controller and the $30 component cables) to feeling pretty good about my purchase. I think the system has a lot of potential. I have yet to play anything multiplayer, but the 360's implementation of Live has probably set the bar here. BUT, the Sony service is FREE. I resent having to pay Microsoft $50 a year.
As to how it stacks up against the 360? Well, I like that I didn't have to pay for WiFi (saved $90), but hated that I had to pay for component cables ($30). I like that I get a hi-def player with the set (almost $200 extra with the 360), and the larger HDD. I like that the system doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner when playing games or movies. But I like the game selection on the 360 *MUCH* more as of today. I dislike the PS3 controller. I dislike in particular, Sony's attitude. It took me a really long time to even warm up to purchasing this box because I really do dislike Sony.
But in the final tally, this is really one impressive machine. But is that enough to make it a better system than the 360, who seems to be getting the best games right now? Doubtful really. Last generation the XBox was the superior machine tech wise. But the PS2 annihilated it in the marketplace. This time, we may see a role reversal. If the 360's hardware was stable, reliable, and quiet it would be a much better box. But as of right now, I'd say the 360 is just a slightly better system because of the games it has.
The Wii is the wildcard in all of this. I find it to be the most enjoyable system of the three currently due to the top notch Mario titles (Galaxy and Paper Mario). Nintendo really is trying something different and the system is *fun*. But the hardcore gamer will probably feel something is missing from their diet if it was the only system that they purchased. Get a 360 or PS3 to balance your gaming needs.

I've owned game consoles since the Atari 2600; all of Nintendo's consoles from the NES to the Gamecube; Playstations 1, 2, and Portable; and Microsoft's original X-Box. In my household currently are all three of the next-gen systems Wii and the 360 (owned by housemates) and now Sony's latest creation, the Playstation 3 (owned by me, by way of Amazon).I was torn between getting my own 360 Elite, and this system. I took a very hard look at both, and backed both out of my shopping cart multiple times. A number of factors went into my final decision to purchase the Playstation 3.
1. I am a PC gamer first and foremost. My gaming rig with an Intel Quad and an 8800 is my primary platform, and likely always will be. It also means that owning an 360 is a little redundant, as most of the killer apps for that system are also available for the PC. The only exceptions are 360 exclusives like Mass Effect and some (few) games that simply run better on the 360 (Madden '08). Generally speaking, though, having a top-flight PC cancels out a lot of the benefit of owning a 360.
2. The sheer value of the Playstation 3 at this time. As stated by other reviews, $499 gets you a game console, a Blu-Ray player, a media center that can wirelessly connect (out of the box) and stream from your libraries on any Windows Media Player 11 PC, free multiplayer access through PSNet, and far and away the most powerful computer you can get for under a grand (type "Cell BE" into Wikipedia and read up). It's a fully-capable entertainment center and media hub that can power your 1080p/7.1 Home Theatre straight out of the box and it may be the single biggest reason that Blu-Ray will likely win the format war.
With the 360, you pretty much just get the game console ($399-499 if you want the hard drive and HDMI). Want to watch HD-DVDs? Have to buy the extra drive ($150-200). Want wireless networking? Have to buy the wireless adapter ($50-100). Heck, want to play your games while charging your wireless controller? Have to buy the play-and-charge kit ($20). Even XBOX Live, outstanding as it is, costs and extra 5 bucks a month. Geez, Microsoft.
3. The expanding game library. I'm no "fanboy" XBOX at this moment has a superior game lineup. Mass Effect almost made me buy the 360 by itself, and even though I'll be able to play it on my housemate's console, it still kills me not to own it. ;) But 2008 is shaping up to be an outstanding year for Sony's monster. With Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank, Sony finally has some jealousy-inspiring exclusives. It only gets better as the year goes on Final Fantasy XIII, Home, LittleBigPlanet, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, etc. Game devs and their tools are finally catching up with the Cell BE and that's something to be excited about.
4. Interoperability. I have the PSP, and it can do some pretty wondrous things with the PS3, from streaming media to playing downloaded games. I also plan to get a Sony HD Camcorder that uses the AVCHD format, and the PS3 supports it natively. I have the Sony Ericsson Walkman phone. All these things can work with the Memory Stick Pro Duo from PS3 to PSP to my phone to my PC, I can access movies, pics, MP3s, you name it. That is extremely handy for me. Now, not everyone has that kind of Memory Stick-centric lifestyle, but lemme tell you apart from being annoyed with Sony's penchant for proprietary hardware, it's a beautiful synergy when you do play along. Everything just works.
5. The Red Ring of Death. The new 360 have supposedly solved this problem, and they very likely have, but I won't lie... it was a huge worry for me. My housemate's 360 was out of commission for a month while he had it sent in for repairs. I didn't want that sort of headache. The PS3 doesn't have that sort of recallable flaw, and it's really a load off the mind.
Those were my reasons for buying the Playstation 3, and I was not disappointed in any sense once I got it home and set it up. It's a substantial, attractive, well-engineered piece of hardware, and you're in awe of it as soon as you take it out of the box. After a firmware update and a couple of downloads, I was browsing my entire MP3, video, and photo library wirelessly, and it looked and sounded great streamed right off my PC. I read a couple of my favorite internet forums from the comfort of my couch. I downloaded game demos while playing Ratchet and Clank (great game, by the way). And when I got off for the night, I turned on Folding@Home and did something for humanity :)
If gaming is all you want, and if you don't have a cutting-edge PC, perhaps the 360 and it's killer game lineup is a better option. In all other aspects, Playstation 3 is unbeatable. It's a technophile's dream and an A+ piece of hardware with vast potential, even now and into the immediate future. It's an amazing machine, an evolution of the gaming console, and I for one am proud to say I own a Playstation 3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition -Xbox 360 Reviews
Alright, I'm a serious COD fan and I logged almost a month on Modern Warfare 2, and a little over a half a month on all the other COD titles. You all know what the prestige edition comes with, as it is all listed above, but is it truly worth the extra money?
It's hard to say. It certainly cool and I waited outside of my local Best Buy at 9pm before the midnight release to get in line to make sure I got a copy. The ONLY thing that comes with the prestige edition that is not included in the hardened edition is the RC-XD killstreak remote controlled car. That being the only thing different-I'll go over it a bit.
--It feels cheap and very light (not complaining, exactly what I would expect-I didn't expect a serious quality RC car).
--It takes 12 AA batteries, 6 in the remote and 6 in the car, which drain pretty fast. (especially if the camera is on)
--The car zips around pretty well but won't do well in the grass at all.
--I've played with RC cars all my life and this one is a little difficult to handle. The turns are crazy sharp with the steering dial on the right of the remote, it takes a very steady hand to carefully steer the car.
--The camera (as expected, not complaining) is very low quality and it is impossible to drive while just looking at the screen on the remote. The lens is faced upward and if you're driving it on the street or in the house you cannot see the ground to see where you're going, you see the top 2/3 of a level of a house.
--The microphone is pretty sensetive so if it is on, you'll constantly hear the gears and mechanisms from inside the car and will come through on your remote and it sounds like a cheap $5 toy car engine sound.
As far as gameplay goes, it varies, and truly, it's all depending on what COD games you like the most. I've read other reviews and I do agree with others that it feels a lot like World at War with some minor additions. The online play is not as smooth as IW's Modern Warfare 2 or even COD4.
ONLINE GAMEPLAY
I think the online gameplay takes some adjusting to after playing MW2 because MW2 was so fast paced and sometimes predictable. The spawnpoints on Black Ops from my experience have been all over the place. I very regularly find myself spawning behind people and saying "man I'd be pissed if I was that guy" and many times I AM that guy. The refresh rate is not that of MW2 and the graphics in multiplayer really suffer. I thought that with the popularity of the COD franchise that they would only stride to make each addition better than the last, but truly I think this one falls short. You buy all of your attachments with bets (or contracts) wagered, and that's actually pretty fun. It's like the same thing as challanges, but it puts a little more pressure on you because you have a time limit. Stopping power and danger close are gone, as is one man army. But because there aren't really noobtubes with one man army or people using stopping power and trailblazing, I find that there are MANY MORE campers in here, sitting back trying to achieve their higher killstreaks. Killstreaks do not count toward other killstreaks, so if I get my RC-XD remote controlled explosive car, and get 2 kills..that still doesn't mean I get my carepackage--I still have to shoot/knife/grenade someone myself. This was apparently a complaint of "the rich get richer/poor gets poorer." I personally think if people are having troubles with a game they shouldn't cry about it on blogs and complain to creators because they cannot personally do well in a video game-that's your own fault. Multiplayer in conclusion, not what I expected. I'm getting used to it, but I'm going to miss the pace of MW2 and the way you unlock attachments for weapons instead of having to buy them.
CAMPAIGN
The compaign mode is great. The graphics are MUCH better and I really wish they would have focused on making their graphics better for online play instead of stupid things like putting your clan tag on your gun and things that most people could do without. One thing I loved about World at War was the super satisfying shotgun to the legs during campaign where they blow off, and there's plenty of that here. A great assortment of weapons and plenty to do, including the use of vehicles. I really have no complaints about the campaign, it's very fun and you'll absorb it right away.
ZOMBIES
Of course zombies are great! I think they focused harder on zombies than they did multiplayer also, atleast as far as graphics go. Automated turrets and all kinds of fun stuff to do! Plus, with the prestige or hardened edition, you get the 4 original maps-which is a great value considering what I spent on WAW mappacks in the past. It's fun playing the old maps with the additions of the new guns. I loved playing on Nacht der Untoten and going upstairs and cornering myself in and lining up headshots with the new guns. Of course everyone will like nazi zombies. I personally think Treyarch should be responsible for COD-Nazi Zombies and release a Nazi Zombie based game with a campaign and everything.
Well, that's my review. conclusionCampaign is great, multiplayer lacks in my personal opinion, zombies are great=4/5. If you're a serious collector, go for the prestige and get your RC-XD like I did and let me know what you think of it. So the prestiege Edition comes with some nice downloadable codes, one for the original World at War Zombie maps which are great to have if you are a fan of Zombie mode and also a code for a pretty neat military Avatar Outfit. There comes in a plastic case a 2 prong Black Ops pin that is'nt to bad for anyone who enjoys collecting diffrent game swag. And lastly the big ol' RC Car... firstly I want to mention that this beast takes 12AA batteries lol. So with that said i will tell you that I have NOT tryed it out. It is sitting on its shelf as display only. Maybe someday I will fire it up and see how it rolls but to be honest the only reason I got this edition was I found it for a good price and I really wanted the download maps for Zombie mode. The other stuff is nice to have but the cheapest Hardend Edition I could find was just as expensive as the Prestiege.
I guess what I am saying is if you have no intrest what-so-ever of anything to game collecting or zombie maps then I would strongly suggest just buying the game itself and save yourself the price of what could be a whole other game. If you are like me though and really enjoy collecting game swag and get just as excited for the goodies as you do the game then you have already made your dicision.

To start I will say that this Call of Duty game is very good. I am a huge fan of all past games and this one is no diffrent. If you have played them in the past you know what to expect. This new one however does have a few changes and they pretty nice. The SP of the game seems somewhat short, im on lvl 11/15 right now only after 2 nights of playing. The action however if far from short though, alot of "movie" moments in the game. i bought this game at gamestop.for about 6 bucks cheaper than new, anyway when it came to campaign it was a good story that kept you waiting to see who was interogatting you, i beat it in likie 5 hours.. and the thing i didn't like was there was no huge fight or anything, (spoiler alert) you kill dragovich but no big fight except yo drown him. the story was ok as far as it goes but the ending left me a little disapointed.MULTIPLAYER: online play is ok, ofcourse you can't get others with killstreaks to go for your kill streak which im ok with, as far as that goes, alot of campers and snipers. the graphics are pretty good and most players are at a decent level. if you play local the AI is dumb. when i played local the enemy ai ran past me for like 20 feet and then tried to shoot me.

This case is a definite plus if you own a Xbox slim, it raises the bottom to allow more airflow. The wider feet help keep the system from falling over (I have 5 children), we have a small collection of games with "the ring" on the disc from systems falling over. Another plus of having this case on is the touch sensitive buttons for opening the disc tray, and the power button are now recessed, preventing accidental powering on/off, or opening the disc tray inadvertently. The controller/headset hook works well, it has a groove that the battery side of the controller fits into. The mask is quality made, there's a button on the USB plug for cycling through all the different light modes. Assembly was also very easy.
Now for the negatives. If you are like me, you will do some searches and watch a few videos online for this product. You will see there is a retractable "hook" on the top of the mask for holding a headset, this is not included with this case. Next the MLG logo nameplate seen on the front in all the pictures isn't included either, being a MLG case you would think it would be. I raised my concerns with the seller Rover Mall, and they went above and beyond trying to locate a nameplate to send me. Turns out none of them come with it. So it would appear Caliber just didn't include these items, this is no fault of the seller. This case normally retails for $90. and is substantially less here on Amazon, combined with "Prime" free 2-day shipping makes this deal even better.

First let me say I have been extremely impressed with this entire package. The box the vault came in was cool all by itself, opening up like Jambi's box (Yes, that's a Pee-Wee's Playhouse reference) revealing the MLG Vault stored quite safely inside. A big shout-out to the shippers for dropping this off 3 full days before the expected shipping period even started! The assembly of the Vault was amazingly easy..... it took me about 3 minutes. The LED eyes on the mask have a few different modes, including solid colors, fade outs, and colour rotations, all of which are operated with the push of a button. The MLG plate beside the usb ports was included, with an option to get a customized nameplate for the front of the Vault, which I plan on doing. This makes my Xbox360 look totally custom, the sturdy base keeps it from tipping over and also keeps it elevated for better airflow to the system. Amazing product, amazing shipping, amazing experience!One word of caution for people (like me) who live in Canada and are planning on ordering this:
Be prepared for around $40 in "brokerage fees" (aka taxes) for them to let this across the border. Keep in mind this is no fault of the manufacturer, distributor, shipper, or Amazon. Just our Canadian government. Even with the brokerage fees I'm still incredibly happy with my purchase and would recommend it to all my friends, it just would've been nice to know about beforehand.

Cheap Bowling Ball for Xbox 360 Kinect
This is a must have for those who are not so good at the real thing. Not heavy, light weight and feels just like the real thing. It actually gives you the feeling that you are at a real bowling alley. Even with the Xbox bowling ball, I still bowl the same as if I were at the alley. Doesn't improve your game but at least there is no one around to see it.

The size of the ball makes you feel as if you are at a Real Bowling Alley. It is easy to hold, very light-weight, has finger-holes, and a wrist-band is attached. My daughter and I played several bowling games, with and without the ball. My daughter didn't feel much of a difference playing Without the ball. On the other hand, I enjoyed the game much More, using the Bowling Ball. If Pro Bowlers play this game, they will be very comfortable and satisfied with this product as I was. OK. I'll start with the one and only bad remark I have about this game. They really missed the mark with the camera on this one. It's very jumpy and erratic in co-op and takes quite a bit of getting used to. They did include a very limited right stick camera control on this game, but it's usually dependent on how far away you are from your partner. The further away you are, the better the individual camera controls are.
My son and I have been putting the hours in on this game since we picked it up on Tuesday, and it's a blast. The voice acting adds to the humor in a way that was missing when all that the characters would say were "mmmm", "aaaah", and "tee-hee-hee". The dialogue is obviously simple since the target audience is young children, but even as a 40 year old adult, I found it to be pretty humorous; especially the Batman to Superman animosity mixed with the Robin to Superman hero worship angle.
The gameplay itself is pretty standard to Tt Lego games and is similar to the rest of the games. Levels seem to be a bit longer than usual which is good. The Gotham City open world is large and contains several side "missions" to collect bad guy characters and bricks, as well as follow ghost studs from story to story similar to Lego Harry Potter. You don't collect character tokens in this game, but get them through story mode and side fights similar to Lego Indiana Jones 2. Graphics are smooth and colorful. Cut-scenes are hilarious and well programmed.
If it wasn't for the camera I would have given this game 5 stars. It's not a huge issue, but is a hindrance sometimes. We did find one area where the camera actually caused an enemy to be hidden by one of our characters during a flight sequence, so we were stuck for quite a few minutes while trying to figure out why the game wasn't progressing. Other than that, we have made it up to Story Level 11 and haven't found any bugs or problems so far. However, we haven't done any free-play yet.

I've played every single Lego game, and I just noticed from the options menu that they removed the Horizontal and Vertical camera options.
It is now forced. I play the game with my wife and we usually turn off the dynamic camera because we start getting dizzy from running around etc... but noticed in this new game you can not turn off dynamic... its more forced now at certain areas. So far, we both love the game, but this is the first lego game that we are having a really hard to time playing together because of the camera issue.

A few years ago I played Lego StarWars and the first Lego Batman to death, to the point I thought I'd never want to play another Lego game. I was actually bored with Lego Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, and Pirates otC, but I am a super fan of DC so that convinced me to give Lego games another shot. While this was in no way the best DC game, it was easily my favorite of the Lego games yet.First to point out what needed improvement, a lot of the same issues that have plagued previous Lego games have STILL returned in this one. Problems like stupid auto camera angles that can make things difficult, random glitches where things don't trigger as they should, and the complete absence of AI in your sidekick. Flight is also really weird and hard to get used to as well, that would be a new Lego issue. you push forward expecting to float forward and instead go way too fast past what your trying to collect. Also, When I fly up in games I expect to pull back on the stick to go up, like in a plane. In this game that counts that as pushing down, and can't by changed, so I just had to get used to that.
Back to the issue of the sidekick AI, it may be worse in this then in any Lego game. He will just stand there and allow henchmen to run out and punch him to death, and won't always come to help with switches that require two people to activate. It's also annoying that when you collect a red/gold brick the game instantly saves, taking away your ability to defend yourself while you get beat to death. Although death never really matters in Lego games, since you just come right back. Lego games aren't about survival, they are more about the puzzle work.
Which is why it annoyed me a little when a video review I watched referred to Superman's flying battle as boring becuase he's invincible. HE'S SUPERMAN, If you want to constantly die then you can easily switch to Batman within the same battle, flying alongside in a helicopter, he's just human so he'll die as many times as you want.
So, I guess there's going to be people disappointed in this game becuase there is no failure, there is no game over, it's a cute, light-hearted, puzzle and collect game. If you crave death and loss then Lego is the wrong franchise for you.
My main allure to this was the addition of the whole Justice League as playable. the downside there is, this game has been so specifically weaved together with Batman and Robin's special suits in mind, that it seems as soon as you turn into Green Lantern or Flash in free play, something pops up that needs a special bat suit. Other characters like Sinestro, and Brainiac are in this as playable (YAY) but don't really have any weapon or power. There's also no online, and very little you and a friend can do with the new free roam world via split-screen. So it REALLY IS Lego Batman, not Lego Justice League, like I wanted it to be. However IF you take it like it is, as a Batman themed Lego game starring other members of the DCU, then it is quite enjoyable. The puzzles are not too challenging becuase this is a Lego game made for all ages. I don't mind NOT getting completely confused and lost in one place for hours, though there were a few times when I got stuck for a few minutes becuase I just forgot about one of the abilities of one of my available characters. I also don't expect the replay on this to be eternal, I powered through the story in about 8 hours, some of that time with friends. If you have more of a life and pace yourself with this game it could stand to last a good amount of time. Extreme Batman fans should all like this at least for a few play-throughs, though I hope Lego makes a more overall Justice League game in the future.

I am admittedly a huge batman fan and ever since finishing up Batman Arkham City I've been wanting to find something to scratch the itch to play through as the dark knight. Lego Batman 2 definitely fits the bill. It's got actual voice-over work with its own fun story that is enjoyable for adults and kids alike. I was pleasantly surprised by just how big Gotham City is and how much there is to explore. The hours will fly by just driving/flying/running around just messing around with side activities or hunting for collectibles before even touching on the main storyline. The bonus is you get access to a huge roster of other characters other than Batman that each have their own unique powers true to their characters. For example Flash has super-speed and Superman is of course invulnerable and can fly, has heat vision, use x-ray vision, has superstrength and has ice breath. The icing on the cake for the fans is the old-school Superman theme music that plays whenever you take flight. There's a lot of fan service to DC Comics fans both old and young that really adds that extra layer of charm that you don't always see. There are some things that are a bit annoying like camera angles that aren't always the most convenient etc., but they are by no means going to ruin your experience of the game.Point is, if you too are a Batman and/or DC Comics fan looking for a fun game to play regardless of how old you are then Lego Batman 2 is a great purchase that I strongly recommend you pick up.

Disclaimer: I've played Lego Batman (100%), Lego Pirates (100%) and Lego Star Wars Complete Saga (NOT 100%).I guess this would have to be my favorite Lego game thus far. I'm biased though, as I'm a Batman/JL geek.
When this game was announced, I knew the reason it wasn't called "Lego Justice League" or "Lego DC Universe" was because Batman equals money. The name alone would sell the game. After playing through the story, I realized why it wasn't called LJL or LDCU. It's because next to Batman (and Robin), only Superman gets any real attention.
If you choose to give this game a try because your favorite(s) is/are Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Hawkman, Black Canary then take note: They are not playable in story mode. Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg are only playable in 1-2 levels. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. Still, the game was fun to play as Batman and Robin and Superman. The flight controls in the levels (and Batcave hub) are great. Zero complaints. The flight controls, however, in the open world Gotham City are terrible. Once you get used to switching between 'level flight' and 'Gotham flight' then flying in Gotham can be enjoyable if you're just cruising around or planning to land in a general location. Aiming to land on a skyscraper's roof or in a crevice can be a pain.
Collecting is fun and challenging, but tedious at times. The thing that I love most about the Lego games is that it requires different characters with 'unique' abilities to access areas or accomplish tasks. This game is thankfully no exception. The special suits that Batman & Robin acquire are an upgrade, even though half of Robin's look kind of blah to me. These special suits are no longer available while toggling through characters during free play which is great. Instead, the game gives you the option to put on a special suit close to where it's needed both in free play and the open world Gotham City.
The future: No doubt Traveller's Tales (and Lego) plan to make a Lego Marvel game (maybe individually for the Avengers, X-Men, and Spider-Man) and (un)fortunately they got to try out this new approach with Batman/DC. The good news could be that after doing some more Lego games and learning from the big (but few) mistakes of LB2: DCSH, we might get to see a Lego: Justice League game. Perhaps to coincide with the eventual release of the JL feature film that WB's planning. If they do, I truly hope they give a fair share of attention to the rest of the league members and not focus solely on Batman or Superman. We don't even need Robin in it for more than a cameo or just one level. Maybe give each member (or a pair of members) a level or two each until they group together for some bigger, ambitious levels. Also, they could lose at least of half of the Batman villains that have been in both these games. Bring more villains in for the other heroes to battle.
Lastly, I would stress that this is a great DC game. At least for Batman, Superman, and Robin. The voice acting is almost all great. I did think The Joker was a little subpar, but it's a minor dislike and it still beats the silent miming of ALL previous Lego games. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is an ambitious (for its series) game that's good for all ages who love these characters. The game is at least worth playing through the story once. As for me, I'm close to 80% and should have it all complete within no time.

Swarm is one of the new GIANT Skylanders available at release of the new Skylander Giants game. These giants are absolutely devastating characters. They can walk through small baddies, crates, chests and destroy special Giant Smash gates. They are also slow and not particularly well suited for jumping (3DS players)I always pair a giant with a speedy (Pop Fizz) or good jumper (Gill Grunt).
Swarm develops into a nice, quality character to play with but he will not dominate the way Crusher does. (Crusher is practically unstoppable!)
Most Skylander choices come down to preference and attraction to the character design. If you like Swarm's look, you won't be disappointed in your purchase once you get him in game.

My 9 year old loves the game (and I play just as much as he does since we're usually doing multiplayer). We had three or so of the giants before, so I grabbed this one and another new one to surprise him.It's actually a great character out of the box has some decent fighting skills, close melee and distance weapons, and great starting health. We spent some time in battles to get some fast cash to level them up a bit and get the upgrades, and it's quite a scrappy giant.
My son loves turning it into a cloud of bees to swarm around things and damage them that way.
Well built as all of them are.
Great addition for those who love the game.
