Everytime my son's friends come over to play Xbox they fight over who gets to try out his new controller. We got him one for good grades, and got him a second one for his birthday. He loves these controllers and is always telling me about how much its helped his game. He showed me how it works and it looks like a neat concept. He is one happy camper!

This controller is awesome, the rapid fire feature is great for any semi-automatic weapon in Black Ops 2 as well as the drop shot comes in handy. It takes some getting use to but is easy once you get the hang of it.

But, I did receive it today and it looks and works beautifully as expected. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

I bought this game for my wife who loves to sing, but I must admit that I kinda like it too. You get to customize your own singer (which is part of the fun; I got mine to look almost exactly like me) as well as the option to design the stages and venues where you sing. The game has a mixer-type set up which gives you the options to increase or decrease the volume of the music, the crowd, the singers' voices and player's voice separately. The game doesn't require that you sing perfectly to get points; just that you hit the right pitch. There are co-op and competition duets for two players. If you are not in the mood to play for points, there is a karaoke mode that simply shows the complete song verses (instead of the scrolling words on the bottom in regular game mode) on the screen to sing along with just like a traditional karaoke song video. It is definitely more fun to play the more people there are. The only downside is the song selection; while my wife and I are bilingual and liked a couple of the Spanish songs that were featured, the others were not all that exciting. Plus, most of the songs from the 70's and 60's were downright boring. The DLC content from XBL consists of only about 10 or 11 additional songs. All-in-all, we have no interest in about half of the songs. I realise it's hard to create a song line-up that pleases everyone when releasing a game that is meant to appeal to the general public, but that's why they should've had more DLC songs available like with the KRAI & DDR games. Still, this is a fun game especially if you are a karaoke fan.

Just a word of caution as a side note, especially to all those who think 'karaoke game = kids/ family game': you may want to review the song list (which can be found on Wiki) before buying as there are several songs based on overtly sexual themes. For that reason, along with some light profanity, it is rated T for teen.

I am a long time follower of Karaoke Revolution. I have all of the old editions from my PS2 and was eager to pick up a few new karaoke games for my Xbox 360. I picked up this game, in addition to a game called Lips. Unfortunately... Karaoke Revolution let me down.

Problem 1: The words scroll across the screen VERY FAST. When you don't know the words to a song, it's frustrating. You can't read ahead (unlike it's competitor).

Problem 2: Some songs... you can't hear the original artist. I turned the vocalist volume all the way up.. and it was still quiet.

Problem 3: There are some VERY FAST paced Spanish songs on this track. I know we're moving towards being bilingual.. but we're not really there yet. And if there's going to be a song in a foreign language on there... it should be more common.. or slower. Combined with problem 1 for English songs.. This was unbearable for Spanish songs.

Problem 4: There were no available songs for download and no one online for Xbox live. This will probably change after the game isn't so new... but wasn't a problem for it's competitor.

There are some improvements to the game. There is a Party mode that saves all of the players who were in the party the previous time. We play the game for holidays with family and I hated setting up everyone before. Now.. everyone can have their own profile. Their name will come up and they can sing whenever. Removing and adding players is easy.

It doesn't kick you out for bad singing. Kids can finish their songs.. They won't get bummed and develop a complex.

I'm a big karaoke fan. My voice is terrible and people's ears bleed when I sing but I still love doing it. I've owned Karaoke Revolution and Karaoke Revolution Party for the original Xbox, Lips for the 360, Rock Band, Lego Rock Band, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, and other Guitar Hero titles, and now Karaoke Revolution 2009 for the 360.

So now I'm reviewing Karaoke Revolution 2009 for the 360. I loved previous versions of Karaoke Revolution and it's my favorite singing game of all the aforementioned games so I was quite looking forward to KR2009 for the 360.

First I'll begin with the microphones that are compatible with KR2009. Karaoke Revolution comes with the standard Logitech microphone and although it is wired, it's a very good microphone with good gain. You can singly quietly or loudly and it handles it all very well. I also used the microphone that came with Guitar Hero World Tour and it's also a very good microphone that is also wired. I would consider these mics equivalent and both work very well in Karaoke Revolution 2009.

Now many people also own the wireless mics that come with Lips. I so much want to love these mics because they're wireless, have accelerometers, and have pulsating lights. But the most important aspect of a mic is how it sounds. When I first got them with Lips, they sounded terrible in Lips. My awful voice sounded even more horrendous in Lips. In Karaoke Revolution, the wireless Lips mics work okay (and sound better than in Lips) but you have to boost the gain to max because they're not powerful mics. And you have to sing with more force than with the other mics. Now in Lips, these wireless mics were much louder albeit your voice sounded more artificial and often the Lips game added sound effects to your voice even when you didn't want any effects.

So now mics aside, how well does Karaoke Revolution 2009 play? I still think the Karaoke Revolution series has the best overall gameplay for a karaoke game. KR2009 has pretty good character customization but it's not as good as in the Guitar Hero/Band Hero games. The gameplay modes are great and there's a wide variety. If you like to sing, this is the game for you. The scrolling text and pitch bars are easy to follow. It's nice to now play in a game designed for a 16:9 screen. Karaoke Revolution has been a series that chose songs that are very good to sing. There are songs that are great to listen but hard to sing (for any number of different reasons including choppy phrasing, wild swings in pitch, etc.). KR2009 has a great mix of songs that allow an average singer like me to easily adjust my pitch on the fly during the song. I do wish that KR2009 had a bigger song list though but if they develop their online song store, then the song list won't be a problem. I will note that there are a number of Spanish songs on the songlist. I don't speak Spanish and while I do understand how large the Spanish-speaking population is, I don't think they should include them on an English-speaking game.

Now some of the problems with KR2009. The graphics are not dynamic enough. I don't mean just the background graphics, but we'll start with the graphics from the perspective of someone watching the game, it looks okay, but it looks like Xbox1 or PS2 graphics with higher resolution. Not ugly but not pretty either. Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero look much better. But now the graphics as you're singing. In previous Karaoke Revolution games like on the Xbox1 machine, the arrows and the glowing effects were much stronger and bigger. They were easier to follow. The graphics of the pitch bar, arrows, etc. of KR2009 are much more subdued and harder to follow. It's harder to tell if you're singing in a zone for bonus multiplier, etc. I play on a 62" 1080P screen so it wasn't too big of a problem. But I can imagine trying to play on a 32" screen and thinking they should've beefed it up a bit. Subtle graphics are great for a first-person shooter. Not great for a karaoke game where words are scrolling fast and you need to keep pitch.

The career mode is weak. I can't get a sense of any purpose to it. Yes, career mode is not that important in a music game and KR2009 is a party game mostly but it would've been nice to have a career mode that was enjoyable or had a sense of purpose to it. The instructions are terrible. They might as well print no game manual.

So how does KR2009 compare to the other karaoke games? Let's start off with the games that are not pure karaoke: the Guitar Hero series and Rock Band series. As a singing game, KR2009 is much better because its games are more singable. Guitar Hero and Rock Band have mostly hard rock songs that are very difficult to sing with very snapping phrasing and little melody. Those songs are all about the music rather than the melody of singing.

Band Hero does have a few songs like KR2009 so it's easier to compare. for the songs that are similar to KR2009, I like Band Hero more because it has multiple ways to show the lyrics and pitch bar. I like the static karaoke of Band Hero. very easy to follow the pitch bar and the lyrics and very easy to sing to the game. If all of the songs of Band Hero were of the same vein as KR2009, I would find it a superior game. But Band Hero is a mix of Guitar Hero/Rock Band and KR2009 so there are far too many rock songs to sing. Also, judging on Band Hero is very lenient so sometimes, you can do no wrong.

How does Karaoke Revolution 2009 compare to Lips? I made a review of Lips so you can read that. to sum it up, KR2009 is a superior game in my opinion to Lips. Because Lips is more of a karaoke machine than a karaoke game. Plus Lips had a very difficult pitch bar and lyrics to follow. the Lips soundtrack is good to listen to but not a good song list to sing. And Lips makes my voice sound terrible. KR2009 makes a lot of people sound okay to great. Lips does look much better graphically than KR2009 if you're just looking at the screen while someone else is playing. The graphics are great and you often have a music video to follow too. But again, the pitch bar and lyrics are much easier to follow in KR2009 than in Lips.

But here's the problem. KR2009 has no to very little online songs to download. Lips has a big online store so you can keep buying songs to add to your collection. I really don't want to buy songs for Lips because I don't like that game. But if KR2009 doesn't develop its store, I'm stuck with Lips. And the Lips online library is really good.

So to summarize, Karaoke Revolution 2009 is a great game but pray that Konami supports the game with an online store with songs to download. Otherwise, if no store develops, my review of KR2009 plummets. Because the song list isn't big enough or good enough to survive on its own. The gameplay mechanics of KR2009 is too good to let it die a sad death. Let's hope Konami supports the game. Otherwise, if you're a 360 owner, you're stuck with rock songs from Rock Band/Guitar Hero. Lips is okay and I could learn to like Lips but I feel Karaoke Revolution is a better karaoke game.

Bought this game as alternative to an actual karaoke machine for my daughter. I think the machine would've been better. Lyrics move way too fast, hard to hear yourself sing. I would not recommend it!!! Not worth the price.

Man, where do I even start. Let me just start with this: Zone of the Enders 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, and easily my favorite robot game ever. That's probably why I'm even bothering to write this review. When I heard Konami was going to re-release the two games in HD, with a brand-new animated cutscene, and with the special edition of ZoE 2 (which was never released in the USA until now), I was looking forward to playing the 2 games again for the first time in a while.

However, despite 2 being on this collection, this is probably the most disappointing game-related purchase I've made since Metroid: Other M (big Metroid fan here). I know that I'm not changing much by writing this review, but I hope that it can shed more light onto why many people are complaining about this collection and that, in the very slim chance that a Konami rep is reading this, a patch will be made to alleviate the problems with the collection.

Let me make this simple:

3 Pros:

-The Metal Gear Rising Demo is fun, despite being short (especially if you skip the cutscenes).

-Zone of the Enders 1 looks and runs as it should.

-The animated opening cutscene is masterfully done and, arguably, the most interesting part of this collection. Check it out on Youtube if you haven't!

3 Cons:

-If I had to take a guess, Zone of the Enders 2 runs about roughly half the speed or so of the original PS2 version. The whole point of the ZoE series is to be a fast-paced robot action game. When the game plays as if I'm playing heavily drunk, something is wrong. I mean seriously, it's barely playable in this state and it's definitely not as fun to play as the PS2 version was (which had very minimal slowdowns). I understand that the game was not made for the PS3/360, but come on, Konami: there's, more or less, no excuse why the game can't run properly. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection runs almost flawlessly.

-Zone of the Enders 1 isn't nearly as fun as it used to be back in the day. It's also incredibly short at only a few hours long. Somewhat of a weak argument, I admit. However, it is easily the weakest part of this collection.

-You're essentially paying $40/$60 (depending on what collection you purchased) for a demo, a really short (2-4 hours or so on your first playthrough), mediocre game (in my opinion), and a decent-length (6-8 hours or so), incredibly fun game (also in my opinion) that's been absolutely butchered by incompetent programmers. This package is, in its current state (as of November 1st, 2012), worth no more than $20, in my opinion.

Anyway, hopefully Konami will learn from from this mistake and make some sort of attempt to patch the 2nd Runner as soon as possible.

Make no mistake, I love the Zone of the Enders games. Next to Virtual On and the newer Armored Cores, they are some of the most fast, fluid and intense mecha games ever created, with the added bonus of a compelling sci-fi narrative masterfully crafted by Hideo Kojima. So why do I award this "HD remastered" collection of the two PS2 ZOE games one star?

Next to the dire Silent Hill HD, this is one of the sloppiest HD collections yet released. The porting work was farmed out to High Voltage Software, an American studio notorious for putting out licensed junk like White Men Can't Jump, 50 Cent: Bulletproof, and Dora the Explorer. They have very little experience with HD consoles, zero experience with porting other developers' code, and clearly had no idea what they were doing. Compared to the PS2 originals, the framerate of these ports is a complete joke.

Make no mistake, the games will stutter, lag, slow to a crawl, and possibly even crash across the course of a mission. In the scenes that tax the hardware the most, like certain boss battles, the game is practically unplayable. A huge amount of my enjoyment of the original versions came from how fluid the "high speed robot action" was, where you truly felt you were in control of these gorgeous floating monstrosities. That's all but gone here. The unacceptably low framerate also has the unfortunate side effect of rendering the difficulty of some previously challenging battles inconsequential, since you are given so much more time to react to your enemies.

If you are playing the PS3 version, the framerate will be even worse. Konami has claimed that the games play at a smooth 60 frames per second, which is an outright lie. They have also claimed that these ports preserve all the subtle graphical touches and effects of the original versions, which is also untrue. They are mostly intact in the 360 version, but if you are playing on PS3, motion blur is downgraded to be barely noticeable and certain particle effects are entirely removed. There are also strange glitches in background and facial graphics that make it look like you are playing poorly emulated versions of the games.

There are other major problems that could have been solved by a longer development cycle and more competent programmers. For example, getting a trophy in the PS3 version will often freeze the game for minutes at a time. But they are beyond the scope of this review. Suffice to say, Konami needs to release a major patch for this game to fix its numerous issues. It took them a very long time to do this for Silent Hill HD, and it was hardly a panacea. If the ZOE collection is patched and the hardcore fans determine it to be an adequate fix, by all means buy it. Until then, stay the heck away. These amazing games deserved far better treatment.

----------------------------------

UPDATE 7/18/2013: After a prolonged wait, a PS3-exclusive patch has finally been released by porting experts HexaDrive. It fixes everything wrong about ZOE2 and more, making this by far the definitive version of the game now. Only problem? It doesn't affect ZOE1, which still retains all of its performance problems. Admittedly, it doesn't have it as bad as ZOE2 had it before the patch, but it's still a major flaw. Note that the patch is over half a gigabyte, in case your PS3's hard drive is nearly full. I've raised the overall score to 3 stars, with the "fun" score referring specifically to ZOE2.

Best Deals for Zone of the Enders HD Collection

I have been holding off on gettings this because of all the negative reviews about performance. Apparently the game has been recently patched though and decided to pick it up.

I have only played zone of the enders 2, wasn't a big fan of the first game, and so far it seems frame rates stay at a steady 60 fps.

Honest reviews on Zone of the Enders HD Collection

I have been a fan of Zoe since it came out on PS2 many years ago. So far I have beat the first ZOE and I am halfway into ZOE 2. I have had an occasional hiccup every hour or so. I am running it on the latest software for a slim PS3. But I HAVE NOT had constant freezes or frame rate drops to where it is unplayable or even crashes. I do not want to disregard the other one star review but I highly doubt Konami would release a bad port considering they are working on a sequel.

What did upset me a little was that they remade the main opening movie but didn't touch the opening movies for the individual games or touch the cut scene animation. It is a bit of an awkward balance in graphics. Especially for ZOE 1. I felt they could have redone those considering it has been nearly 10 years since the originals came out.

Either way, I got two of my favorite games on a disc for $40, even though I already paid about $40 per game on PS2 and the PS3 hardware is capable of playing them but Sony took that feature out. But at the end of the day, $40 for two games and a demo of MGS:R isn't too bad of a deal. The actual game play does look better, no frame rate or lag issues, I would recommend renting it then buying it.

Edit: I have been playing ZOE2 daily now. It still has not crashed or froze on me as others have said. It does lag a little transitioning from cutscenes to the game but it is livable. I have not experienced frame rate drops in combat either.

Edit 2: after playing ZOE even more, I got a software update to 1.4.something and now the game plays very silky smooth. I am really not sure why the others who have wrote negative reviews are experiencing low frame rate. I'd say rent before buying.

Konami should be ashamed that they allowed High Voltage Software to be the developers behind the Zone of the Enders: HD Collection. Their track record in recent history has been spotty at best, and this is just another strike on their record. Despite having this purchased from a physical retailer, I feel that I should warn as many people as possible to avoid this product, particularly since at this time, reviews for this product on major gaming websites are either grossly misleading or non-existent.

I own PS2 copies of Zone of the Enders 1 and 2. Both of those versions run at higher and smoother framerates on a consistent basis, with slowdown and frame drops occurring usually where you'd expect the PS2 to have had serious slowdown. The model of PS3 tested while playing the PS3 version was a CECHExx, originally purchased as part of the MGS4 pack released in June 2008. To confirm whether or not the console was the source of the slowdown, I played Tekken Tag 2, Killzone 2, Killzone 3, Dead or Alive 5, MGS HD Collection, and Uncharted 1-3 after upgrading to the latest firmware (4.31). All of those games run just fine. PS3 owners should avoid this collection at all costs, as their version runs at a lower framerate than the 360 version, and suffers from more severe slowdown even when there is no action. Demonstrably, the game suffers from slowdown just staying still in the training mode chamber, while only ONE enemy is present during the basic movement tutorial.

This isn't to say the 360 version is dramatically better. While it does maintain a higher and more stable framerate than the PS3 version, it still suffers from slowdown and frame-drops at all the same points that the PS3 version is. This version of the game was tested on a Xbox 360 250GB edition system. To see if the Xbox was responsible for any of the issues, I also tried out Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Dead or Alive 4, and Ace Combat 6. Those games also ran fine on the hardware.

The bottom line is that the Zone of Enders HD Collection is a low effort port of two PS2 games that does not run well on modern gaming consoles capable of playing far more visually complex games. If Konami is hoping this will drum up interest from newer fans who were not fortunate enough to experience these games when they first released on the PS2, they have shot themselves in the foot. If for some reason we do not get Zone of Enders 3 (despite it being announced fairly recently that the game is being worked on), all of the blame should rest firmly on the poor sales of an poorly made compilation made by High Voltage Software.

As an aside, until Konami, Sony, or High Voltage Software acknowledge and address the issues with a patch on both consoles fixing the framerate and overall performance, I would not only avoid purchasing the product, but I would not trust any reviewer claiming the game runs well. At worst, they are paid advertisement shills. At best, they are just fanboys attempting to defend either their console of choice of the franchise they love.

When Red Dead Redemption came out I wasn't very interested, it looked like GTA in western times to me. Well that was an incredible mistake but one I am glad I made, why? Well you see, I do not have Xbox LIVE and therefore I can not get any DLC for any game I own and since the Game of the Year Edition comes with all the DLC already there it just made it that more great for me! The reason I finally bought the game was because it came with Undead Nightmare and I LOVE zombies, I could have bought the DLC alone but I decided the actual game wouldn't hurt since the DLC might be pretty short.

The Story:

The story for Red Dead Redemption blew me away John Marston (The main character) is an excellent and well made character who seems to always be in the middle of the right or wrong path. He is sent to hunt down his old gang members from when he was an outlaw in exchange for his family that the government has kidnapped. While it may sound simple at first you will soon see that it is nothing close to being easy. I expected the story to bore me, believing that the game would be more focused about sandbox environment and free roam rather than the story, boy was I wrong! This is now my favorite game, John Marston is a wonderful character that I absolutely love, I know I didn't touch much on the story but I am trying to be as spoiler free as possible.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is awesome, I also had a "meh" expectation for the gameplay because it takes place in the west so I thought I'd be using a gun or two but once again I was wrong. There are so many different weapons they all feel different in their own way, the options of weaponry let you have the option of choosing how to approach certain situations for example, you may go into an area with your guns blazing and just take an all out offensive on your enemy or you can lasso them and bring them back to the town to face what they have done. There is also some knives and throwing weapons that can be used for stealth attacks, though I didn't really seem to go into that part of the gameplay much since your usually out in the open and the general enemy would be a tad difficult to stealth kill.

Visuals/Audio:

The game looks amazing, each area has it's own unique look and there isn't a sudden abrupt change, as you move from one area to the next you'll notice the land slowly becoming more similar to the next area, the animals in the game (that you have the option of hunting and skinning so you can make a few bucks) are so much fun and there are so many animals to see and/or hunt. Some may be docile and flee while others may be aggressive and attack you, some animals will even pretend to flee and return when you have your back turned or with a group and attack you. Lets get to sound, now.. Usually I don't pay much mind to the sound, it's there but there is never anything that pops out to me personally. But this game has an amazing soundtrack, and even the sound effects of certain actions are awesome! The voice actors are incredible, the animals are realistic and the music just pulls it all together in a beautiful looking game.

DLC:

The reason I bought the game.. Well, I will admit that the DLC is very fun but I am very glad I didn't purchase it alone because I would have missed out on such an amazing story in the main game and the DLC did in fact feel very short (To me anyway) There are also DLC costume and weapon packs that are already in the game, so that was fun too but I'll focus more on Undead Nightmare here. The zombies are.. Well.. Zombies! I was so pleased to find out that only fire or a head shot could kill them, shooting them in the arm, chest, leg, or anywhere besides the head will not kill them! Isn't that awesome?! I actually found myself not really using guns because it was so much fun to get close up and smack them on the side of the head with a tomahawk. The story is good, not as good as the main one. What sticks out in this is definitely the gameplay, not only do you get to fight zombies but you also get new weapons that you can't get in the main game! Also the animals can become undead which I found to be a nice touch, an added bonus to having animals becoming undead is that your horse can become undead also! My horse was killed by a small horde of zombies and once I whistled it returned to me looking like it had been dead and chewed on. The Undead horse has unlimited stamina but is also a bit more difficult to control as it sometimes will try to steer in its own direction rather than yours. There are also a few mythical creatures in the game that I will let you find out about for yourself.

Pros:

Gameplay, story, visuals and audio is great!

DLC comes free already in the game so you don't need Xbox LIVE

Free Roam + Sandbox environment, what's not to love?

Cons:

Minor bugs and glitches

There is a Multiplayer aspect of the game but I wasn't able to even play it because it requires Xbox LIVE, so keep that in mind.

Now I don't want to scare anyone from this product, it is indeed awesome but personally I had a game freeze a few times, they were NOT often and only happened about three or four times and my game or console was not harmed by it in anyway.

Overall:

If you like westerns, free roam, huge areas for gameplay or anything like that, BUY THIS NOW. It is a great game and in my opinion it is well worth the price since you don't need internet access to get the DLC.

P.S. This is my first review, I apologize if I wasn't very good, I tried my best and just wanted to let everyone know how much I LOVE this game! Have fun!

I will do my best to give this game the credit it deserves and probably more.

Note: I have just gotten the game of the year version, I have already played through and beat the original version without the DLC. As of right now my review is just for that part of the game, though with how absolutely wonderful it is There is no way it cannot get better with the Zombie DLC addition.

First: I will not ruin the story for anyone, so this review will be about game-play, graphics, add ons and overall fun. This game does not disappoint in any of those categories.I have read many comments from different sites that say something along the lines of, "I was expecting grand theft auto basically in the old west but it was something completely different"( OK THINKING )..... Yes and no is what I have to say to those which means that this game is so unlike any other game, of any kind of genre. it's hard to compare it with any other game. If I were to compare it to anything it would have to be GTA, unfortunately There is no other way around that. If you have ever played GTA and have loved the series and the The open play. Did you enjoy The ability to do as you please, whether on a mission or not? Then you will get the same experience here but in a way that has never been done before...

Do you love westerns? Have you always craved a game that would truly give you the feel that you were really in the old west? A game that gave you the ability to make yourself as you see fit? A game you were able to choose if you wanted to follow the path of law or the path of an outlaw? Look no further, you have arrived and get ready for the most fun you will ever have playing a video-game. This game is produced by rock star, the same producers of GTA and in the same GTA tradition, it delivers with complete open world play. It contains a breathtaking vast expanse of untamed wilderness and border towns.. The graphics are pristine and it just gets better as you unlock more of the open territories, eventually being able to unlock and go to Mexico freely. The landscape scenery is amazing while you watch the sun rise and fall with brilliance

The game-play is simply sweet and it builds off of the same system used in gta, which is the regular storyline that you need to follow to complete the game but also an entire world of side quests. It also has side missions (to gain money), also items, including horses. You also have the option of buying a campsite so that you may save your. You may choose to steal horses to use, which like in gta produces the same result as stealing a car. You will be chased and if your wanted level is high enough, you will be relentlessly chased. The beauty part of this is that you may choose to pay off your bounty anytime you wish, as long as you can make it to town without getting caught first. What is so much better though, is the fact that they have towns that are actually outlaw friendly(1 so if your on the other side of the map then it wouldn't do you much good) so you may choose to pursue a game experience as an outlaw, though you may find the experience lacking. After being shot at and chased constantly, The process gets rather repetitive. You also get less options when it comes to people asking for help. If they are scared of you they wont ask for your help on anything and buying ammo becomes more expensive to you outside of thieves landing..Being an outlaw has it's many perks but it is, in the end, rather exhausting and more fun to play through as a good guy. Also when you are the least honorable you will be treated as a drifter and a mean one, a desperado, You will get a unique black horse with a white face, only awarded to the meanest of mean :)...

The thing I love the most in this game is actually, probably not really stated much, that is you can just decide to enjoy the experience of hunting(For those of you who love this sport) at which point this game gives you so many different animals to hunt in different areas, ranging from a small armadillo, to big game hunts where you may decide you want to bag a nice Mountain lion or wild boar. After hitting your prey with a variety of firearms, from a nice schofield revolver, to weapons ranging from a Springfield model 1892, including a Winchester and Evans repeater. You also can get a really nice sharps model 1874 buffalo rifle which will put down the biggest game or for that matter the best of men! Afterwards feel free to skin and bag your pelts for trade in any one of the different towns, depending on how rare the animal is in that specific area, will vary in how much you will get for it..You also take, sell, boar tusks and snake skins to bird feathers..."Now that's some good stuff" Just to unload your six shooter at some birds in the sky!!!

I cannot state enough how fun this game is and just how much repeat game time there is especially with the zombie DLC, The original game, multilayer and all extra content from Xbox or PlayStation. This puts any elder scrolls or fallout to shame! The other thing that you may enjoy "you cannot have a western game like this without it!!" A good ole fashion gunfight in the street, where the game uses a specific system to quick draw on an enemy, whom starts a gunfight in the street or at cards with you. This will happen more often than not in any outlaw town you enter..

'

All of these things I mentioned also give you the ability to open new missions and unlock new abilities. Depending on whether you are completing a hunting challenge, a treasure hunt, or a sharpshooter challenge. The game uses a slow mow, dead eye mode, a system where you may target up to 15 targets "depending on your ammo capabilities" on a specific weapon in quick succession. If you get good enough, you may not miss one.. It's pretty nice when you can ride your horse up to a gang of thieves, down all six enemies, then ride off without a shot on you Now tell me that's not pretty cool!? Hey if you wanted to, you could rope an enemy with your lasso and drag him behind your horse, just to be mean He may die in the process but so what, this is the beauty of this game and the option of doing what you please..

Ladys and gentlemen, I cannot praise this game enough!!! It's the best game of this type ever made if not (some may not consider it that but you have to love the old west)the best period!!! It's a category all it's own to be truthful, a true great american masterpiece

ENJOY!!!

Update:I would have to advise to get the game book to accompany this, as it is endless in the amount of things to do. In some cases, the maps and tidbits will be of utmost importance to achieve 100 percent completion. Achieving 100 percent completion will give you a pinkerton outfit, which allows you to have the authority of being the highest law enforcement agent in the game. This allowing you to have free will, to do what you please, almost anywhere with no consequences. The game of the year edition companion book has a decently thorough review by me also

UPDATE:2 Undead nightmare is even better than I thought ;)...Also see below for a detailed description of benefits and challenges

Another Important aspect of the game is the ambient challenges, treasures and outfit objectives. You may consider doing these all first and the Reason I say that is because certain outfits will help you immensely. The deadly assassin outfit for instance, will refill your dead eye twice as fast..When fighting constantly it will make a big difference.

Master Hunter: When you unlock the Master hunter outfit. It will reward you with you twice the pelts, meat and other items when hunting(While wearing it)..Achieving master hunter will give you viddles to refill health out of your hunted prey, or achieving level 5 gives you the buffalo rifle.

Survivalist: This is tedious, rather they all are in each their own way but purchase a survivalist map to use at the general store, use it once in the area of which your map states that herb or flower will be in. Once at level 5 these maps last longer, then at level 10 you have the ability to harvest plants to make a consumable items to refill your deadeye.

Sharpshooter: At level 5 mastery you will have more ammo within the chests/drawers in your save area, or waking at your campsite. At level 10 mastery you are rewarded with dead eye that replenishes while shooting targets.

These are the most tedious things to do in the game, they take the longest, and some cannot be done till certain areas are unlocked. Though once your whole map is unlocked, like mexico and tall trees then get these done as they will make the game more fun to play through, with the special abilities. If you wait to get them, you will have to go through all this after story mode which may deter you from 100% completion. After the story missions are done, there are no more, so better to use the special things during story mode(It makes it more fun)

One personal piece of important hinting from me(out of experience in the game) is that hunting will allow you to reap the most money benefits in the game. Hunt as much big game as possible, "I spend days just hunting grizzly in tall trees"(tall trees is the most abundant and dangerous hunting ground). "I hunt till I literally have 50-100 grizzly, big cat, boar(Boar will be available to you sooner than grizzly as tall trees is locked at first) pelts. After, I travel to mexico and sell them. The Reasons for this are, they pay the most because they are the farthest from tall trees. Once you sell them, you will have a seemingly inexhaustible supply of money for consumables, guns and ammo..The Lemat revolver and buffalo rifle are themselves hundreds of dollars! In my biggest trip I raked in 13,000 dollars from pelts, meat, and also other sellable parts from the carcass, so it is worth it..Be careful as hunting is as dangerous as it is profitable, more than once I was attacked by two to four grizzlys or 5 wolves. As A matter of fact it will happen often..After such money gains it is just easier not having to worry about grabbing ammo from the dead, or when you save, either way it wont be that much..This also will give you the ability to buy consumables as you please, like moonshine (refills deadeye) or medicine(IMPORTANT! will heal you in the middle of a fight) or horse pills/apples (Also very important as when you need to get somewhere by horse fast or are being chased it refills stamina so your horse doesn't throw you as he will tire easily) very important in the U.S Marshall outfit challenge! SAVE SAVE SAVE! When you have enough pelts while hunting, or Items that you do NOT want to lose if you die, then I suggest you save as much as possible using your campsite because when you die ANYTHING unsaved will be gone! It is really annoying, I forget sometimes...

All above are the hardest thing to do in the game as they also take the most time. When possible, make your game experience more rewarding, it is better to do them early. They may be the most difficult to understand within the book which is why I'm going into such detail, these are the things I wished I knew before starting also

This is my final review and tips, Please Vote helpful if you enjoyed it...Thanks again

Best Deals for Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition - Xbox 360

A man is forced by the government to accept a difficult task . A powerful man, who was formerly a popular leader but is now considered a criminal, must be eliminated. Getting close to the target will require a long, arduous expedition to a highly fortified compound. The government must not be connected in any way to the mission. Sound familiar?

No, the target's name is not Kurtz in Red Dead Redemption. But it might as well be. Rockstar has once again taken inspiration from a masterpiece of cinema. In the same way that the Grand Theft Auto series is strongly linked to works by Singleton, Scorsese, De Palma, and Kurosawa, Red Dead Redemption pays homage to Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now.

On the surface, RDR appears to be based on classic Westerns. The game is set in the American frontier at the beginning of the 20th century. There are plenty of references to films directed by John Ford, Sergio Leone, Clint Eastwood, and Sam Peckinpah. The driving forces behind the game's narrative, however, are questions about duty versus honor, confrontations with enemies who may not truly be opposed to what your character represents, and most importantly, the achievement of spiritual redemption by completing a psychologically harrowing journey. Western films often address these themes as well, of course, but without any ambiguity or ambivalence. It's always crystal clear who is good, who is evil, and what is right and what is wrong in these films. In contrast, RDR and AN deliberately obscure their moral viewpoint on the actions of their characters.

Anybody familiar with Apocalypse Now will recognize that many aspects of RDR's story are directly analogous to events in AN. While the characters and motivations of John Marston and Final Boss (no spoilers here) are never as fully developed as those of Captain Willard and Colonel Kurtz--due to both Rockstar's avoidance of Metal Gear Solid-length cutscenes and the limitations of the videogame medium--all of AN's key plot points are present in the game. There's even a minor reference to the sniper execution scene in Full Metal Jacket that helps reinforce RDR's connections to AN. All of this adds up to a rich and compelling story arc, especially considering RDR is a videogame.

Story and influences aside, the bigger question is whether or not Red Dead Redemption is fun to play. The answer is YES. The graphics, especially the environmental effects, are outstanding. There's a good chance you will find yourself just sitting on a horse admiring a spectacular sunset or taking in the dramatic view from a mesa or hilltop and not doing anything else. The controls are easy to learn and quickly become intuitive. Finally, as is the norm with Rockstar, the game's world is gigantic and full of missions, mini-games, and random encounters. A few minor things feel a bit unfinished, such as some missions that involve long journeys without characters saying anything, or unrefined (it's left to the player to figure out how the inventory management system works while playing) but there aren't any glaring flaws overall.

The highlight of the DLC in the Game of the Year Edition is Undead Nightmare. Imagine Resident Evil set in the RDR universe...but with the trademark Rockstar mix of violence, gore, and humor. Make sure you play the main game first; many of the characters make, er, *interesting* reappearances.

Well worth picking up, especially with all the DLC now included on disc.

Honest reviews on Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition - Xbox 360

I know I'm a little late to the party, seeing as how the game came almost two years ago, but this game is so much fun. Gameplay is similar to GTA4, so fans of that game will enjoy this one. Great story that keeps you interested, tons of story missions and side missions and activities to do. Anyone who hasn't played this game yet, should definitely get the game of the year edition, because you get all the DLC and Undead Nightmare expansion along with the regular game. That's like another $60 or so worth of content if you buy it all separately!

This particular iteration of Red Dead Redemption is the best value because it includes the add-ons/DLC as well.

Red Dead Redemption is a shooter that blends in elements typically featured in other genres and/or overlooked by shooters. If you're into grinding out achievements, stop reading reviews and buy this game you'll love it. If you're not into grinding, that's cool too because there's plenty of story to keep you fully engaged without having to farm kills. There's a ton of mini-games within the game (including Texas Hold'em and BlackJack) that are pretty fun and the characters are surprisingly well developed. And as is the case with most games these days, you get to choose whether you play a good guy or a bad guy, and your choices impact the way the game plays.

Overall I give this game a 9/10.

This game is a lot of fun to play and by far my favorite Lego game of the series, and I've played quite a few. However, I would wait until they have released a update/patch for the game as there are some major glitches.

The worst one in my opinion happens if you quit a level the first time playing it. If you get stuck in a level and want to retry or if you experience another glitch in a level and quit the level the game will then continue on in the story mode and skip the level altogether. The level doesn't even show up on the storyboard with the other levels that you can replay, it's just gone. So to complete the game you need to start over completely.

To me this makes the game unplayable right now as I don't want to restart and this is not the only glitch in the game.

Again, this is an awesome game, but if you're considering buying it, you should wait until they release a patch to fix the issues.

I love Harry Potter and the Lego games, so this was a must have! We have played both Star Wars Lego games and Lego Batman, and have had a lot of fun. Lego Harry Potter was by far my favorite! We played this game almost every evening for an hour or so, and beat the game in about a month. I am not a serious gamer, but I love the co-operative play of the Lego games, and all of the different "hidden" objects you have to find.

We recently purchased the newest Lego Harry Potter Game, years 5-7. For some reason the graphics were a lot nicer on the newer game. And there were not as many glitches as in the 1-4 game (getting to a point in the level where your character is stuck and cannot get out, or repeatedly falls off the edge and you can't do anything, etc). For that reason I would recommend it over this game, if you had to choose. But I say don't choose and play both!

After beating the game we have not played again, but I think if I can convince my husband I will try to play both Lego Harry Potter games again in the future--they are just too much fun! But if I could only play one over I would choose the 5-7 version.

I love all kinds of video games, and I've always liked the LEGO server because you just play them. They don't require a ton of thought, but they definitely have their own challenges that everyone from adults to kids can still have fun playing. If you've played any of the other LEGO games, this one follows the same formula and uses the same techniques collecting lego bits for "money", gold bricks for those who try to complete everything, red bricks to enhance your gameplay, the ability to play a level in a "free roam" style after playing it though during the campaign, and so forth. It's still variation on a theme, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

But if you're a "completionist" like me, you might find this game frustrating. I've already run into several bugs that have prevented me from getting all of the gold bricks and, based on a few quick searches, I'm not alone. Apparently, many people have run into instances where the triggers to make a gold brick appear are missing or all of the triggers are activated but the bricks never appear.

It's still a nice change from fast-paces shooters, senseless button-mashers, or immersive RPGs; but those who love to get full trophies/achievements might end up being frustrated in the end.

My husband and I rented this game to play during a span of cold, rainy weather a couple of weeks ago. We are in our 30's with no children. We had so much fun playing the co-op mode that we played each night we had it for hours and hours, not even realizing how much time had passed. When the time came for us to return the game, I went and purchased it. If you or your gamer is a fan of the Harry Potter movies, this is suprisingly fun. Goes well with the movie plots for years 1-4. If you've ever played a Lego video game before, you know what to expect. Great fun, good challenge, and loads of laughs. I don't think you would be disappointed!

I've got an 8 year old daughter. I'm an avid gamer and the two of us love playing this one together.

I only see my daughter every other weekend and so I try and find things that we can both enjoy doing together and this game is just a perfect example of how parents and their kids can mix their hobbies and generally have fun together.

Before this I had to play Barbie with her so it was a major step up for a parent.

The game requires co-operation and communication to work together. You'll feel like a team and have a lovely experience. I recommend this game to anyone who has a son or a daughter aged 6+

Years 5-7 even improve on this formula but I still recommend finishing this one at least once before going for the second one (plus the second one is more expensive since it's newer).

This is one of those cases where a computer game has a positive influence on a kid, go out there and buy a copy of this game. I find it very unlikely that anyone would be disappointed.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Reviews

One of the greatest 2D fighting games of all time. Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I am literally on this game every day. I've spent hours upon hours on this game, I just can't get enough. According to a website that tracks certain xbox statistics, MvC2 is already my #3 most played game and I've had my 360 for more than a year already. Marvel just came out a few months ago, and I even stayed up to see it pop on the marketplace just so I can get in a few games before I had to "wake up" for work. When I got home that day, I had never seen what I saw that day. I had 17 friends online and 15 of them were on MvC2. On the release date. Gears of War 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, none of them had as many people on, on it's opening day.

MvC2 is a remake straight from the Dreamcast version of the game (undeniably the best version of the game). All characters are unlocked before-hand so depending on your view that can be a pro or a con. There are lobbies you can set up, with upto 6 people at a time (2 players and 4 spectators) so even when you're not playing you can watch and pick up some new tricks.

The only complaint one might have against this game is that it is not a n00b-friendly game. You better have some sort of knowledge about fighting games before picking this up, preferably some street fighter experience. Heading online you are almost sure to find teams that consist of the following players: Magneto, Juggernaut, Storm, Cable, C. Commando, Sentinel, Iron Man, Psylocke...get used to it. Many players have been playing MvC2 on their dreamcasts for these past 8 years, so be prepared.

Online is virtually lag free, With more than 1000 games under my belt in both ranked and player, I've almost NEVER had a laggy game. There have been a few, yes, but very rare. The only thing you have to worry about is getting spammed, that will almost ALWAYS happen on ranked.

In terms of the achievements, as it's an arcade game there are 200 G's for you to collect. I have maxed this game out, and without a doubt the hardest achievement is 50 OCV's (One Character Victories). Winning 50 games ranked by w/o switching your first character. You can use assists, multi-specials, etc. but the first person that you choose may never leave the field of play. The others are pretty easy, it's easily 150 G's if you try.

Anyways, I do love to mention that I have close to 100 total games (I believe the tally is now at 91), and I can say honestly without a doubt, if I had only one game to play online for the rest of the year it would be...Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

So many characters, 3 on 3 fighting , and its online! Played this for countless hours on the dreamcast and in the arcades. Definitely a must buy game at 15$.

Best Deals for Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Man, I remember logging countless hours on Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in the arcades.

It was a lot of fun back then, so when I heard this was going to be released on the XBLA, I jumped on it. And it's only 1200 Microsoft Points(15 USD)!!!

The new features like online play make this game even better. Take on the world, but I'm warning you, some people are really, really good. The online play can be a bit laggy at some times, so its best to play with people that are pinging on the lower side.

This is an exact port of the absolutely perfect Dreamcast version of the game, so there aren't any gameplay revisions, so characters like Cable, Iron Man, and Magento are still incredibly unbalanced and overpowered, which show how true this port really is.

My only complaints about this game is that you cannot map one button to two actions, which makes it difficult to do attacks that require you to hit two buttons at once, considering you are using a Xbox 360 controller.

For fans of Capcom, Marvel, or any fighting fans, this is a definite buy, considering that USED copies of MvC 2 can run upwards of $50 dollars due to their short manufacturing run. So, MvC 2, gets a 5/5.

Honest reviews on Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Big fan of the arcade version of this game. Makes me think back to my button mashing days. I still LOVE this game. What's not to love about Street Fighter vs Captain America vs Spider Man vs The X-Men vs Iron Man? And for only $15? Can't beat that with a stick...well I guess you could try...but don't.

Perfect Dark Zero is one of my favorite release titles for the XBox 360. The graphics are gorgeous, the main character (female!) has personality, and it's a good combo of shooting, stealth and puzzle solving.

We've been of course testing all of the release titles, but we keep coming back to Perfect Dark Zero just for sheer fun of gameplay.

First, the basic mission tree. You are Joanna Dark, daughter of a bounty hunter who follows in her father's footsteps. You're athletic, nimble, smart, and maybe a bit fool-hardy. The game is set in the future (Joanna was born in the year 2000) and you get an interesting mix of locales to explore as you take on your assignments.

The graphics in this game are simply GORGEOUS, as you might expect from the XBox 360. I highly recommend you play this on a HD TV I've done screenshots comparing HD to low-def and the difference is rather impressive. The water ripples, the light plays off the rippling water, the rippling water reflects on the textured brick wall, you name it. You get red and blue lights shining down from the ceiling and the lights color their surroundings and even combine where they cross.

There are of course some amusing issues this still isn't photo-realism of course. There are times that a red laser beam has slight "ripples" in it, for example. Still, the quality is far better than anything else on the market.

I suppose you could complain that Joanna goes running around in high-heeled boots and low-cut pants, but heck, I was impressed that her chest size was reasonably normal. Compared to most other video games out there, with their mostly-naked women with inflato-boobs, Joanna is quite demure!

The sound is aiming for a James Bond feel here. I think that is pretty clear from the intro credits. You get a boppy rock soundtrack through much of the game. The dialogue is reasonably well done, and you can't really say much about how gunshots sound. They sound like gunshots.

Gameplay is a mix between Splinter Cell and a FPS. There are times that being stealthy and quiet really pay off. There are other times that just running fast and blasting away will work. There are cool lockpick puzzles, too. I do get frustrated that you can't "jump" though. I'll see a nice, inviting open window at less than waist high, and I have to walk right by.

I have mixed feelings about co-op mode. On one hand it's fun to have two females working side by side and taking out the enemy. On the other hand, if one person decides to quit, it shuts down the whole mission. I really like it on other games where a person can pop in and out as necessary. This especially is helpful if a less experienced gamer is stuck and needs help just for a short while.

There's also deathmatch style gaming available, both on local gameplay and XBox Live. This lets you sneak around and head-shot your enemies with great glee.

We've played this for many hours and haven't noticed any problems with lag or crashing. There are certain moves that don't happen instantly for example, when you shoot from cover, you have to wait for Joanna to "rise from a crouch" before she fires. This is quite realistic. The game also has cinematic sequences when things go into a Matrix-like slo-mo which seems to be in many current movies.

If you play this game on easy mode, you can probably zip through all the missions in a single very long gaming session (say 14-16 hours). The harder levels of difficulty are of course more challenging. Really, though, all single-player gameplay is is just a training mode to help you prepare for live gameplay. Once you've gotten your skills sharpened on the computer players, prepare to take on the real challenge, with real live opponents!

Highly recommended.

Seriously, this game on any system, not just the 360, is not fun to control and there's no feeling of accomplishment when you pass each mission. The feel of the character during movement and shooting is inexcusably remedial, very slow, very tedious to aim, and like others said it takes far to much effort to drop 1 guy.

The game reminds me of a poor man's Red Faction 2 for XBOX with noticeably better graphics, but as far as 360 goes, the other 6 games I currently own surpass PDZ in the graphics department.

So the reason for my title is that for those who game this game 5 stars...where exactly are you standards? I can think of at least a dozen shooters off the top of my head for the regular XBOX that I'd rather be playing than PDZ, and Doom 3 in my opinion has better grahpics than this game. Halo, Halo 2, Doom 3, Project Snowblind, Mace Griffin...the list goes on and on, and obviously Quake 4 and COD 2 for the 360 trump this game.

Do yourself a favor, even if you love spy-type storylines and you're in need of a shooter, rent it first and you'll see what I mean. It's maybe worth 10 bucks when the price comes down, but definitely not worth 40-50, and most definitely not a launch console seller.

I know everyone has their own opinion, but giving this game 5 stars, even if your basing it on the so-called innovation this game brings (which it doesn't), you skew the standard of a shooter so far in the wrong direction it baffles me.

Best Deals for Perfect Dark Zero

In PDZ, you take up arms as Joanna Dark once more, except this time as a teenager and a bounty hunter with her pops Jack Dark. Once her father is killed by the evil corporation of dataDYNE on a mission, and a conspiracy begins to unfold around the same company, Joanna teams up with Carrington Institute to try and topple dataDyne...and to avenge her dad's death as well.

You see the world through Joanna's eyes as she runs around blowing away enemies with an assortment of weapons including a shotgun, the Superdragon, a "Shockwave" sniper rifle (remember the FarSight in the 64 game? Well this is the equivelent of it), the DY .357 magnum, and many more. You get to use turrets, hover crafts, and this mechanical walker thing with an M60 on it so that was cool too. You can use ziplines to get from one building to the next, and you can even press up against walls for cover and precise firing.

Lets talk a difference between this title and it's masterpiece of a predessor on the Nintendo 64. For starters, in Zero before you can do a stage you have to select your weapons and make sure you have enough space in the item slots for it. So in essence, you could really only carry one assault rifle and one SMG. That is VERY lame in my opinion I don't play a first person shooter to manage inventory. Moving on, in order to unlock new weapons say a CMP150 SMG that wasn't in your beginning inventory -for use in other stages, you must complete that level while having the CMP150 as one of your current weapons; WHICH means you must toss a weapon, take the CMP, and beat the level with it to have it for further use. Another lame idea. So if you are currently wondering, yes I am missing a bunch of weapons in my inventory. However, Perfect Dark 64 didn't have any of this and equaled out for a much better experience.

The multiplayer is somewhat redeeming, but still no match for PD64. You choose a level, how big it is, your weapon set, character/team, bots, and gametype and go at it. There are some interesting games like Infection or Hacking, but it's been done before. However, this game pretty much took out the in-depth character & bot customization process the 64 version had as well as being able to command your team, and in turn, lost a lot of points and was almost lackluster. Furthermore, you must actually beat the game to unlock all the bots, teams, and characters to get the most of the multiplayer ahem, LAME!. However, it will still provide you with some fun if you and a couple of your friends are looking to just blow each other or some bots away. There is also a Co-Op mode which was pretty fun I'll admit.

I'm forced to admit, but this is the best looking game I have ever seen. Everything looks incredibly realistic, the lighting is superb, the characters look humanlike and move as fluid as one as well. The enviroments, be it vast jungles, dense cities, or huge mansions are truley breathtaking. Perfect Dark Zero definitley showed the power of the X-Box 360, and really set the standard for future games. HOWWWWWWWEVER, and this was inevitable to avoid on this review, was the fact that I despise what they did with Joanna Dark's look. She was never a punk rock chick, nor was she a supermodel she was grotesque in the 64, she was british, she was something that could pass off as a secret agent... sigh, why Rare, why?

The music has it's ups and downs. Some songs, like when you are..grr..managing your inventory..are techno-esk and remind me of the glory days of PD64. Then there are the heavy metal / rock sections which help you get pumped up for a big battle. Then, there are the actual rave tunes which truley ruined it all for me. It was ridiculous and didn't help the overall atmosphere of the game at all. The voice acting was good for the most part, except Jack Dark who was just annoying.

The ending was flat out bad, but from what I have seen recently, most games are. You destroy the main villian/CEO of dataDYNE (can't remember his name at the moment) who underwent some transformation and became something that reminded me of a Dragon Ball Z character with the kamahamaha blasts and super strength. Anyway, you kill him, and officially join Carrington Institute hence setting the stage for Perfect Dark 64... not worth it in the least bit.

And I'm not going to lie this game is hard, and then incredibly harder on other parts such as the Jungle stage. The good news? It's short, with a mere 13 missions.

With all the hype surrounding this game, and with the memory of how awesome the first game was, I'm actually really dissapointed in the overall experience I had. Perfect Dark Zero had it's moments of decently intense firefights and pretty good multiplayer, but for the most part it was just a run of the mill FPS albeit with excellent graphics. I suggest a rental, nothing more.

...Also, in the club mission, if you look around at the videos on the wall...they are the from Windows Media Player. It was Microsoft's own little plug, just like in Condemned.

Honest reviews on Perfect Dark Zero

I know, this game is old, I picked it up at launch. But after seeing it under the "recommended for you" category on Amazon, I felt compelled to warn others to NOT buy this game.

As a person who LOVED Perfect Dark 64, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this game. I cannot describe what a totally different game it is. I'm not sure if Rare lost their talent, but manit is different, and NOT in a good way. This game has frustratingly poor level designit's laughable. It's so bad that if you don't move for five seconds, arrows light up on the ground to send you in the right direction. That should NOT be necessary. The plot is pretty clichedit's not helped that it's a prequel, but it IS thoroughly predictable, particularly towards the end. Of course, Carringtonn makes an appearancewith a thick Scottish accent not present in Perfect Dark 64 in any form whatsover.

Online play is extremely mediocre too.

Avoid this game. It's not worth $20.

I am a HUGE FPS fan, and have played nearly every major game in this genre since the original Castle Wolfenstein and while not a fan of console versions of what essentially is a genre best left in the PC arena, the original Perfect Dark on the Nintendo 64 was a spanker of a game.

I was thrilled when I read that a sequel was to be released, and rushed out to buy it, fondly remembering those late-nate PD gaming sessions, now to be converted into HD glory, with more features and thrills.

I tried so hard to like this game, I really did. However, beyond the hype and opinions of those who have never experienced what a great FPS should be like, here are the facts of life.

1 Awkward aiming. Unlike most console shooters, PDZ requires near-perfect aiming there is not much aim-correction for using the pad, and you play the whole game thinking 'I wish I had a mouse and WSAD keys..', which seems what the enemy must have, because they have less than no trouble getting headshot after headshot on you.

2 Crap storyline. Cheesy, dull, terrible dialogue. Only the youngest of gamers would be excited with any story-based content on offer. The stereotypes are on display and proud of their corny lines, reciting them with sarcastic gusto. Cut scenes soon are skipped.

3 'No jump' feature. Sounds silly, especially as the original didn't have a jump button, but with the new levels and their detailed environments, you might find yourself screaming at the TV when your hard-earned skin-of-your-teeth cinematic escape is marred by clipping an inch of your leg on a small rock and taking a busload of fire in the process.

4 bipolar AI. Enemies and friends alike switch moods between deciding to be tripping, hobbling cannon fodder to head-shot assassins. There is no feel of realism, no sense of game world stability, and the game never levels out between ridiculously easy and so hard the only way to move around a level is to perpetually roll.

5 Rolling\Cover. On that note, the 3rd person feature is a waste of time. The 'roll' feature, presumably, exists to help one stylistically evade the enemy's fire, but you never seem quick enough to dodge the bullets well enough. On harder modes, you'll find the only way to conserve health is to become this constant gymnastic ball, pausing only to inevitably take damage while you return fire. The 'cover' feature is awfull, and exists only on selected scenery little help when you actually NEED it. It generally feels like a useless addition for the game-enhancing-cinema-style-experience ethos that designers really ought to dump. The problem is that it has a split second pause before taking effect and that you have to be perfectly in position to do so. One problem of this is if you do it in the wrong place, you actually expose yourself to the enemy and face the opposite way a hail of enemy fire later and you're frustrated meat. Lastly, once you're actually in cover, you have a second's window to lean out, aim, and get off at a maximum 2 shots before the guy you're shooting at clocks you.. and don't forget the 2 or so guys coming around you to mash you up in close combat. After a few of these situations, you'll be using this feature rarely.

6 Dull multiplayer. I'm sorry but it's true. PDZ multiplayer feels half-paced and as an afterthought. There are a handful of options compared to the pages of game customisation the original had eg. slow time, game modes, etc.. None of this for PDZ.

7 No innovation whatsoever. Now THIS is the area I wanted the game to shine in, excusing the rest of its problems. Sadly, its a bog-standard affair that never excites and thrills the way its predecessor did.

There are other things I could mention, but honestly, the list goes on. Graphics are NOT the be-all end all, and I never experienced one moment of genuine excitement at the gameplay or game world. It does not immerse the play the way, say, Condemned does, having you gripping the controller in real thrill.

All in all, roll on Halo 3.

I bought this adapter in hopes to use my PC speakers with my PS2 console. The adapter works perfectly, not sound glitches, or any abnormalities.

However, I want to point out that the product pictured on Amazon.com is misleading, the adapter I recieved is a just a single wire, not a box adapter like the one picture ^ up there.

But if that doesn't bother you this is a great adapter for your X-Box/PS2/Gamecube if you want to use PC Speakers for audio.

extremely happy I purchased this. I feel there is no way to take the case off the 360 slims without breaking it with out this set. the instructions are non existent, but you can easily find instruction if you Google it. the only complaint I have is that the tools could have been labeled a little bit better. instead of just a, b, c etc... I would have also labeled where they will be used, for example tool " A " also labeled with BR standing for bottom right and so on and so forth. since it takes 5 tools all inserted just to remove the faceplate. Also on extra tool I would consider making would be one to open the locking tab that locks in the delicate ribbon cable. also there is a small tool that looks like a mini ice pick, I would have put that one in somesort of protective holster of some sort for clumsy people like me so we don't injure ourselves. I just make a sleeve for it by cutting a drinking straw from Mc donalds to cover that and it worked like a charm. all in all a must have for case modders or those who want to replace their cases. I only knocked one star off for lack of instructions but I would easily give it 4.5 stars. good luck finding an easier set of tools than this. I would definitely and highly recommend this set. made by cm and anyone who has modded before knows cm is quality stuff. happy modding everyone.

pop and snap 2,pop and snap is what happen when you don't have the right tools, they shoud have included a diagram/ how the tools are used would have been helpful. the tools work great, once you figure them out. just take your time with the unit, and it will come apart. the lister needs to check on how they are listed there tools not a game. otherwise great to have.

This key set works perfectly. Mind you, there is a learning curve for the end-user to know where everything goes -but there's a video on YouTube that'll guide you. This set allows you to remove the faceplate without damaging the warranty sticker, and I've replaced a few flex ribbon cables for customers only to have them completely confused as to how I opened their console without breaking the seal. Not always a necessity, but I feel it's a nice touch.

Pop the keys in the slots, wiggle them around a bit (you do have to sometimes pull the bottom ones out before the faceplate will give), and you're good to go! I can easily disassemble a slim in under two minutes with these. They're durable, last long, and are cheap. I wouldn't go for anything else, and I heavily considered the other offerings.

Honest reviews on XCM X8 Unlock Tool Set for Xbox 360 Slim

These tools from XCM are fantastic to use when you can open your 360 slim better than prying it open. When i got my Tools i opened my slim and it made modification much easier . I build custom 360's so this tool is deffinately needed to do the type of work i do . When i liquid cooled my 360 Slim this made it easy to open with out cutting up the case and making a mess . I would recommend using this with Their Replacement case if you want a nice looking 360 . Another thing When you Open the case u will see the canals that allow you to open the case and i just sanded them down so its easy to open next time . Great tool for Any Case mod or DIY MOD

They do make opening the slim easier, but that's not to say I didn't break a sweat. They still require a fair amount of wiggling and tinkering with to pop the thing open. I would buy them again if I had to, two improvements would have been to grind the edges smooth and harden the steal.

This game so far is a blast.

Gameplay sees you robbing banks and pulling off various other heists with friends or bots. Gameplay is very objective based, and the objectives are sometimes randomized a bit, which helps replay value. There are a few bugs in the PC version right now, but Overkill works hard on its games and has been working to make sure everything is great. I personally haven't had any problems. There is also lots of customization when it comes to guns and masks. Also your skill tree is similar to borderlands, where you get points every time you level up and spend them on skills in 4 different specialist skill trees.

This is most fun with friends. You can also get matched with strangers over Live, which is a similar amount of fun. Nothing beats playing with people you know, though. Some of the missions are pretty difficult to accomplish with just AI teammates, because they won't help you with the objectives and just follow you around (think Left 4 Dead bots). I would not recommend this to someone without Xbox Live. Without other people, you're going to have a hard time.

Replayability is pretty high. Heists randomize slightly (for instance, sometimes the bank vault is in different rooms), there are 4 different difficulties which each pay out accordingly, there are over 20 different guns to buy and tons of attachments to add to them... and if you have some friends to play with... if you've ever had a go-to game for when playing with friends (SSB:Brawl, Timesplitters, etc) then just imagine all of these things mixed with the joy of playing with your friends. I'd say the game easily has 200 hours in it before you could get to the level cap and afford everything you wanted to. And as someone who reached the level cap in the first Payday, I can tell you that it was still fun.

Downsides are that you can't play some of the harder missions single player without getting destroyed, and that there's no way to select which heists you have available. Heists are displayed in a city map view, and you can select a job off of the map. This is meant to make it so you play all the heists and don't just farm one until you're sick of it, but it can be annoying when you really want to run one in particular and it won't come up. In the same way, which weapon mods you acquire are random (kind of like loot drops in other RPGs) so sometimes it can be a teensy bit frustrating if you just want a Tactical Mag or Silencer and you keep getting Pink Paint for your mask or a handful of nickles. None of these qualms are game breaking for me, they're just design choices that I can appreciate the wisdom of (while still cursing them).

Overall, Payday 2 is shaping up to be one of my favorite games. If you like shooters and can suspend the lawful good part of your brain for a bit, and have friends to play with, you can't go wrong with this game.

People play video games for different reasons. Some play as means of socializing with their friends, some to relieve their frustrations on complete strangers, while others seek unaccompanied escapism. With the entire industry shoving multiplayer and social aspects down our throats, I sometimes feel like I belong to a dying breed of gamers...those who still play games to step away from constantly being connected. Looking at all the trailers for next generation titles, the single-player experience seems nearly extinct. There are fewer and fewer games like Skyrim and The Last of Us and virtually every title these days carries frighteningly similar multiplayer modes with criminally minimal changes to the formula. A few exceptions aside, the differences between most multiplayer ventures are indistinguishable. Fundamentally, I have nothing against multiplayer, but it seems that every competitive match I've played in the last decade has resulted in some enraged teen throwing a tantrum fit and ruining everyone's fun. So why am I bringing this up? Well, because Payday 2 happens to be one of those rare exceptions where the developers decided to alter the playing field. It's a wonderful rarity that encourages, no forces cooperative teamwork...and despite its abysmal technical shortcomings, it's one of the finest multiplayer titles I've played in years.

This is my first outing with the Payday franchise. Having spent only five minutes with the predecessor's demo, I can't say I went into the sequel knowing what to expect. The premise is simple. Four players team up to descend on a crime spree by picking from 30+ available heists spread across the Washington DC map. Whether you're robbing a bank, a jewelry store, destroying valuables in a mall or breaking into a nightclub, the mission diversity is impressive and serves as the perfect playground for players to learn the true meaning of teamwork.

You can't win in Payday 2 unless you are a team player. If you plan on trolling, Payday 2 is your worst nightmare. The entire gameplay experience is designed around covering your team's back and strategizing heists cooperatively. When your teammates are down, you have seconds to reach them before they're arrested. Add to that the nonstop resetting of your safe drills and you find yourself constantly running back and forth between rescuing your buddies and securing the loot.

Heists can be tackled either stealthily or with guns blazing. Since you begin with very basic skills and no additional weapon mods, your early heists are more likely to turn into warzones. This creates a surprisingly realistic sense of progression as you grow into a more skilled robber and acquire enough experience to complete missions without ever alerting the police. It may seem impossible at first...and it's certainly tough as hell, but the sense of accomplishment is unparalleled. As you gain skill points, you can invest in any of the four available professions: Technician, Enforcer, and Ghost. Each offers deep customization trees with interchangeable skill points allowing you to shape a character that's precisely suited for your playing style. To get the most out of Payday 2 it's best to play with people you know. Being able to play with four diversely skilled robbers versus matching up with random players online makes a big difference when planning your heists. Playing with a headphone set and a crew of close friends makes heists feel realistic and immersive, whereas playing with strangers that don't like communicating can lead to some very unpleasant scenarios. In a way, your experience may only be as good as your co-op partners...and that's ultimately Payday's both strength and weakness.

Payday 2 requires a ton of commitment to succeed. Weapon upgrades are absurdly expensive and you might find yourself playing for hours just to purchase a silencer or a larger clip. Additionally, if you remove any of the mods and decide to re-add them later on, you have to pay the full price again. This is incredibly frustrating and detrimental to the overall experience. But strange design choices aside, it's the technical hiccups that cause the most problems. Aside from the extremely outdated graphics and horrendous screen tearing, there are numerous glitches constantly interrupting the immersion. Clipping issues...audio bugs...every gameplay session introduces some unexpectedly nasty surprises. On more than one occasion, cops were getting stuck inside walls, deeming them invincible and forcing a mission restart. Other times the audio would go bonkers with the characters' voices sounding like there were echoing inside a tunnel. It may be something the developers can fix with a future patch, but the current state of the game is a little too rough around the edges.

Despite the bumpy production values, Payday 2 is one of the most thrilling multiplayer games I've played in a long time...and this is coming from someone who typically likes to game solo. The emphasis on cooperative gameplay is a nice change of pace and there's plenty of content here to keep you playing for a really long time. And with the collector's edition retailing at only sixty bucks, this is an excellent choice if you're craving something a little different and unique.

The game is extremely fun, been playing since Midnight (Steam) and it's good. Buggy and has crashing issues, but they're working on it. Also, do not buy from the seller Amazon has listed GAMES -2PLAY. The game is not $59.99. It's $39.99 or $29.99 on Steam. They're trying to sham and make a quick buck, or they just don't know the game's price.

Payday 2 is a fun and exciting game that will bring out the little burgler in you. It Definitely has a high replay value but it can be incredibly challenging if you don't have other people to play with. Each mission has its own set of scenarios, making you prepare for multiple situations leaving you with a buttload of content. The online community is nice, making it easy to play with other people without being constantly harassed. The music is also really gripping and makes you feel the anxiety and panic associated with robbing a bank if something goes wrong. If you miss out on this game I feel sorry for you.

This is a very fun game, but only if you play it online. When you play it online you can actually talk to your friends, so when you are down or they need help you can communicate. Unlike playing offline you are playing with bots that are actually really dumb. I find it really hard to pass any bank robbery or just any misson while playing offline. Overall though it is a very good game, but I would recomend to only buy this game if you have friends to play with online.

I bought this product to use it with my Macbook Pro and play games using my Xbox 360 controller. When I bought this receiver I took the risk of having something not compatible with my Mac but after installing the Wireless Controller Driver from Tattieblogle (try searching on the Internet) I was able to configure and use it without any hassle. Fully compatible with games for Mac and some of the games from Steam.

follow directions in other reviews to get it to work perfectly. Took me less than 5 mins to search enough to find the one with the instructions. Synced with my controller first time, works darksiders 2 exactly as it does on 360 with no tweaking! I have nothing bad to say except it would be cool if it had the 4 lights that light up like on the front of the 360, but that's asking a lot for $10... Worth the money!!!!
