I would give this controller 5 stars but there's one place that hurts it...but I'll go over the good things first. The controller feels good when you hold and it won't slip out of your hands because of the material it's made out of. The LB,RB, LT and RT are very responsive when pressed. The bad things about the controller are the combat buttons on the back of the controller and the A,X,Y and B buttons. For me, the combat buttons felt like a pain to press on the back of the controller. The placement just didn't feel right. The A,X,Y and B buttons...oh man, they stick when pressed. This will hurt you in any kind of game you play especially if the game requires a lot of button spamming. I did fix this problem by taking the controller apart and made the holes for the A,X,Y and B buttons bigger. I wouldn't suggest you do this because it would void your warranty.

It's a decent controller. For the money it's a really good controller. If you don't sit to far from your console this controller works well. My kid loves it so that's all that matters.

THE PROS

So I've had this controller since November 2012. Me and my brother use CONSISTENTLY with our shooters so I know that it can take normal wear. This was a surprise to me since Mad Catz made this and they have a bad reputation for making cheap 3rd party controllers that give out after 2 months. I've had this for almost half a year and it is barely showing wear on the left stick.

The grips on the controller are awesome. I usually play for 2-3 hours straight during each session and my hands have yet to sweat and slip off during some intense gaming. However, don't pick at the edges like me or you will see faster deterioration at the edges.

The bumpers are also better placed at a better angle which makes it easier, and faster, to press.

THE CONS

One problem I had with this was the mic jack. I use a Turtle Beach 12x with this controller and I found out that they don't like each other. Every time I shoot, the controller will rumble, and the result will be horrible static sound being sent to anyone who is listening to me. Thanks to the feature in my Turtle Beach, I can hear what they hear and it sounds bad. I eventually found the problem through forums and apparently the mic wiring in this controller is not so good (as with most other wired controllers, according to the forums). The answer to this was that I turn off the rumbling, which fixed the audio mic problem but now I miss my rumbling. If you don't use a mic, then you're good.

The LED lights in this controller are awesome but they are LED so be prepared to be annoyed if you're playing in a dark room. When the sticks are in neutral position, they're cool. However, the moment I move them, light will shine straight into my eye. So that's another problem if you play in a dark room.

The left and right triggers are more digital than analog. I play Forza and I've had a hard time slowly accelerating. With a MS controller, you wont have any problems. So if you are a racing fanatic, this is not the controller for you. If you buy it for racing games, be prepared to train your fingers to be more gentle.

I have own two of these controllers, they will never stop working if you use them right and be carefull, i dropped them 5 times a week, and they hand in there for 8 months avrg,

The buttons:

Everything is Ok, but they could have improved the mapped buttons on the back, you will get used to it, I used these specially for ghost recon, and i dont think they're the best choice if you play other games, because mostly the Dpad are useless in FPS, and your left back button can only map dpad arrows, but i will always recommend this ones. they can handle the hard work, they can be dropped, and you can rely on them for unleveleing your ghost recon experience

I LOVE IT!!!! Couldn't ask for a better product for the price. Was pleasantly surprised when the item came in its original box with all the cables and the universal media remote. Hook up only took a few minutes, but getting the unit to actually play a dvd and getting the remote to be recognized by my Xbox 360 took a little longer. Thank goodness for the internet and all of the great forums out there that explain everything in detail. Couldn't ask for a better unit for the price. These normally retail for over $60, this was a steal at $21! Highly recommend this item for anyone looking to add a dvd player to their XBox setup. Only con was that it took almost a week to get here. According to shipping tracking it went from CO Springs to Denver. Denver back to CO springs. CO Springs to Des Moines. Des Moines to Kansas City. Kansas City back to Des Moines and finally Des Moines to Omaha. Seems a little fishy, but I am extremely satisfied with the product.

With the end of the HD-DVD format, I have a modest collection of HDs that I will not be able to watch if my primary player (Toshiba A2) breaks. I looked at this as a means to media shift the HDs that I legitimately own to a different medium. Like I have done with my CDs and shifted them to MP3, so too will all my movies move to MP4s.

Plugged this beauty into my Computers USB port and the drive came up with no problems. Was able to play HD movies without an issue. Now off to the real work.

Received item in a speedy mannor form Amazon but there were some problems:

1. Box was not sealed (the MicroSoft seal on the opening end was missing).

2. The Media remote was missing.

3. Unit states for sale in Canada only and MicroSoft may not honor warranty here in the UAA.

Unit was not packaged as new units are and it was clear that unit had been used. It still works and for the price paid it is acceptable overall.

Update: 2 years later drive still works just fine with xbox 360 unit.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 HD DVD Player

I bought this for my son for Christmas, along with many hd movies.

This hd dvd player worked for approximately 30 minutes. My son was watching a movie and stopped the movie and when he went back to continue watching the movie the player wouldn't work. I read the return policy which is that they won't accept returns, we must go through the manufacturers warranty. I could understand if the player worked for a few months, but for 30 minutes! Are they selling defective equipment? If they are maybe amazon shouldn't use this company. Now my son has movies he can't watch anywhere else. I'll think twice before ordering anything again.

PlayStation Vita - The Walking Dead Bundle Review

PlayStation Vita - The Walking Dead Bundle
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
PROTIP: I originally bought the Wifi only version but returned it because I thought the screen was not bright at all on the brightest setting. This replacement unit I got is noticeably brighterso if you're thinking yours isn't bright swap it out! It probably is not.

I love the Vita, in fact I had a PSP which I let go a few years back because I was not using it. I immensely regretting trading it in because I absolutely love locoroco (a must have game if you ask me!). The PS Vita doesn't fail to impress. The game library may be a little thin now, but the thin PS Vita game library is supplemented by a huge PSP, PS Classic library.

The battery life could be great, but 3-5 is okay. If you're going on a trip make sure to bring a battery charger with you.

I personally am never going to use the cellular data feature. I have a smartphone with tethering plan, so I can just tether it to that. Then I can get 4G LTE and play multiplayer games. The GPS is a nice touch, however.

The buttons are a little small, along with the thumbsticks. But I have big hands. They would be okay for average hands.

This unit is a stealit includes a game and the device over the Wifi only version. There is no reason NOT to get this over the wifi version. But, a bit of warning. I would get the 16gb card at a minimum. This card will only hold this game and MAYBE another PS Vita game if it is small. It will definitely fit a PSP game though or a PS Classic title.

I initially had the 8GB card, but that will hold 2 games and MAYBE 3. Kind of annoying. The 16 will fit 5-6 games comfortably. But if you intend on buying all of your games through cards, then the 4GB card will do. 8 if you want to store music. Games can be found on the PSN Store at a small discount which is really nice since you save on packaging and material costs.

The graphics are mind blowing. When I was playing games I first thought the cutscenes were pre-rendered but they were not! It is amazing what mobile graphics can do. These chips are also on smartphones, but they can't be optimized because the hardware isn't standardized. The vita, however, can be. If you're worried about the lack of Vita titles, there should be a lot more A++ titles coming soon. The Vita TV may end up helping the platform, if that happens more games could be made for the Vita.

The Vita only supports 2.4GHz Wifi, unfortuantely no 5GHz support.

I see portable consoles serving a purpose: gaming on the go. That being said, if you're not always on the go traveling somewhere, I would not get a mobile gaming console at all. There's no point in gaming on a tiny screen for most of your time. However, if you are, the gaming experience here is very pleasant.

Get this system in your hands and you'll never want to put it down..

Surprises:

Remote play is not pefect, but very cool and easy to set up. You can use it over the internet. Almost all PS4 games will support this feature. (At this point, not many PS3 games do.) Next Gen on a handheld.

Web browsing actually feels great.

I can browse my pictures, play my music, and watch my downloaded movies, all streamed from my PC on my home network. (Video formats are restricted to MP4).

The OS is fast and easy to use, with a customizable home screen. Being able to stop at any point in a game and switch to another task or just put the system into a hybernate mode and come back to it later with almost no loss of battery is really convenient.

Skype works great.

Disappointments:

AR is not being utilized yet. There are a handful of gimmicky "Augmented Reality" games you can download for free, but they're not worth bothering with really.

Needs more great games. Listen, this is coming from a guy who has bought multiple repackagings of MarioKart, Yoshi's Island, Katamari Damacy, Metal Gear Solid, etc. Ports and remakes and HD versions and classics; those things are all great and I'm fine with them, but I also want more new, exclusive titles like Gravity Rush, which I'm loving.

Here's the deal: this is the best handheld system ever made. What it needs is for people to get on board so that developers will feel confident that if they spend the money to release a game for it, they'll see a return on the investment.

Anyone who has 200 dollars and loves handhelds, Playstation, great tech, or any combination of those, should buy this system.

And by the way, I don't game "on the go". I use this system in my bed at home, the same way I would read a book before going to sleep. And when PS4 comes out I'll be able to do this while playing amazing next gen games. Sometimes I'll just grab it and use it like an iPad when I want to Google something or watch a Youtube video or Netflix. The point is, this system is not just for people with commutes or who travel often. My Vita's home is on my nightstand and I can't wait to kick back and pick it up once the kids are in bed.

Also, it's been said, but yes this bundle is an awesome deal.

Best Deals for PlayStation Vita - The Walking Dead Bundle

At first I was just considering buying a vita but now I'm really glad I did. The graphics are brilliant for a mobile console and the feature content is great as well. Overall a great attempt by Sony because I usually sell whatever PSP I tend to own and the vita will be staying with me for how feature rich it is. I guarantee you would be pleased with this purchase!

Things you should know first

First thing you should do is update your vita using your pc. (Using the vitas safe mode is best.)

Second the vita does not come with on board memory so get the largest size memory card you could afford.

Third the vita online games cards are region dependant so to get walking dead use a US address in setup.

Last but not least enjoy the experience!

Honest reviews on PlayStation Vita - The Walking Dead Bundle

If anyone is planning to buy a PlayStation Vita, I would recommend this because it's the same price as the normal Vita. So, basically when you buy this one you get a free game which is The Walking Dead Complete First Season includes all 5 episodes, plus special episode `400 Days'. And you get a 4GB memory card which is very good and this model is a 3g/WiFi model.

GOOD DEAL!

Best Shaun White Snowboarding - Xbox 360 Deals

Shaun White Snowboarding - Xbox 360
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

As an avid gamer and snowboarder, I felt that this game has been unfairly assessed by critics and gamers. For the reviewers who gave Shaun White a low score, I often wonder have they ever even snowboarded before?

If you're a gamer looking for a snowboarding game in the vein of SSX you're going to be dissapointed. Luckily, that isn't what this game is about. I've been snowboarding for 7 years, and have been waiting for a game that captures the spirit of what snowboarding is all about. To date of the 3 most popular snowboarding games: SSX, Amped, and 1080, they focus on either one or the other: racing or obtaining the highest score possible on a linear path.

Here's a quick summary of what you should expect:

Gamers will hate:

the controls (they take a while to get used to) and they should be customizable

half pipes and impossible tricks are missing

runs have no straightforward path

Snowboarders will love:

+ you can choose any path on the mountain you want (almost no boundaries)

+ Graphics are the best yet with the Assasin's Creed Engine

+ Hitting challenges with friends over xbox live or psn

+ Having a plethora of real merchandise to customize your character to match the gear you actually wear

+ No fake tricks (ie SSX), pulling 360 rodeos in the game feel realistic and fulfilling

+ 4 mountains to choose from (Europe, Park City, Japan, Alaska) that allow you to carve down the entire mountain any way you please

+ backcountry, gaps, and lips to explore

+ physics are for the most part accurate. Uses havoc technology for the momentum of the tricks, and speed (gravity) you travel down a mountain. Characters have a weight to them.

In the end, this isn't the perfect snowboarding game that it could have been. There could be a bit more polish (controls should be completely customizable, interface and animation could have been a bit smoother) But, this is by far the best snowboarding game I have ever played. I highly recommend Shaun White Snowboarding for xbox 360 or ps3 with the caveat that you snowboard and play videogames, if you're a gamer expecting a Tony Hawk snowboarding game look elsewhere.

This game is great in many ways, but it's also lacking many things and has quite a few glitches in the online mode. My biggest complaint with this game is the controls. As an avid gamer, I can quickly adjust to almost any control setup, but this was really bad and they aren't customizable. The controls are not setup well for doing tricks, which is why most people online tend to just rotate, or do flips.

The graphics are terrific in most areas, the mountains look great from afar and whether you're heading down the mountain or looking up, it all looks terrific. As I mentioned previously, it's great in many ways, but also lacks many things, this is one of those areas. When you use the board to slow down and turn, or other various positions it looks as if they're just stretching the pixels because the trail looks the exact same as the area right behind it.

Throwing snowballs at other riders is really fun at times, but it can also be incredibly annoying. One rider can keep two riders pinned down and if that rider continues to keep you pinned the only thing you can do is pray they get bored or that someone comes to your rescue and hits them with one. Even then, you may not have enough time to escape.

You can customize the riders appearance with a number of different jackets, pants, gloves, backpacks, goggles, bindings, and even a speedo. All the items cost money with the exception of the bindings and the speedo is the most expensive at $20,000!

The boards in this game make a huge gap for competition. If you're using a beginner board in online play, it will be near impossible for you to win a competition if someone is using one of the better boards because of the large gap in quality. The speed and velocity of the better boards put the beginner boards to shame, and they're also unrealistic in some ways. The top boards you can do front and back flips with as you're riding on a somewhat flat piece of the mountain and land it perfectly. There's no chance of that with a beginner board. Now imagine trying to keep up with that differential on the halfpipe!

Online play is really where it's at, but there are multiple glitches. Sometimes two riders will do their halfpipe run at the same time, each collecting a score, but you'll only be able to view one of them, and the "second" person usually gets kicked out after being "idle" for about 15 seconds and this happens frequently. For some reason unknown to me, you can get stuck. I was stuck right in the middle of a run, not inside the mountain or a hole like that, but I just got stuck on the mountain. People tried throwing snowballs at me to knock me from that spot but they just went through me. The only thing that fixed it was someone putting out a challenge and I accepted it. I've also had "NICE RUN" flashing on the screen for multiple runs and challenges and it made a noise each time it flashed. It finally disappeared after 15 minutes, but I don't know what the remedy was. Online play is like single player, because you can still accumulate points, money, and collect the euro's, but you also get to talk to other people playing online and compete against them in challenges. If there is an on-going challenge, hope you're near the top of the mountain because the chairlifts will not be working no one can get on them.

One area with no downside, however, is the soundtrack. This game does not have a single bad song in it. It just plays hit, after hit, after hit.

The maps in this game are huge, and the entire mountain can be part of your run. You can jump across to different slopes and take advantage of the entire mountain.

This game is not like SSX, although it does have racing competitions available. This game is very realistic and you shouldn't expect to be able to do 1080's on every jump, this game is very realistic, although the "falls" could use some work. Rather than wiping out, you just pop up and keep riding, and sometimes you may not get points for the tricks because you fell, but you stayed up the entire time. (If you play the game you'll understand what I mean.)

Overall, I would say try to find this game used, or on sale. It's fun for a bit and will make you want to get your board out and ride, but I don't see myself coming back to it very often.

Best Deals for Shaun White Snowboarding - Xbox 360

So I'm a snowboarder and I've been annoyed with the arcade style of most snowboarding games to date. Amped was good because it gave you real mountains but I felt like technology needed to catch up in order to get the snow and physics right. I think we're getting closer with Shaun White Snowboarding.

The graphics are par for today's games except there are frame rate T

stutters when you're riding the chairlift and looking around at the whole mountain. The frame rate is good when it actually matters.

The game starts you off with a crappy board and you have to earn cash to buy better ones for ridiculous prices. Just hold out for a mid grade board and once you upgrade you'll start to really feel what this game is like. Once you u have one of the best level boards, the game gets even better. It's a shame they don't at least tease you with how good the controls feel with a real board because some people will simply give up before they get a good board. So give the game a chance and it will grow on you.

Honest reviews on Shaun White Snowboarding - Xbox 360

The game play in Shaun White snowboarding is excellent. Definately the best snowboarding game created up to this point. The game is loads of fun. There are 4 different large mountains with a ton of challenges for solo and multiplayer play. There is also a huge selection of gear boards, bindings, jackets, hats, etc.. You can take the chair lift or jump out of the helicopter. You can do pretty much all the tricks in the real world in this game, including flatland tricks. The realism is unprecedented and extremely enjoyable at the same time. The game even has avalanches that you can outrun or be swallowed up by.

If you want to take a break from doing tricks the game even has races for Single player and multiple players..

All in all this a great game, i recommend it for any one that enjoys snowboarding or skateboarding games, or for people looking for a new kind of gaming experience..

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Shaun White Snowboarding - Xbox 360

they really werent trying when they made the engine for this game. there is such a limited bag of tricks its rediculous in this day and age. the graphics are sub par at best. the animations are stiff. the challenges are boring and repetitive. the controls are clumsy to say the least.

there is honestly no excuse for a snowboarding game to be thrown together like this. not after we saw the greatness of SSX Tricky and SSX 3. those games did just about everything right. from the controls, to the trick list, to the character customization. this game did none of that right. everything is so simple, limited, and poorly implemented its horrible. it feels more slapped together than a Courtney Love makeup job.

the only redeeming qualities this game has to offer: a good soundtrack for the most part, and fun online. getting a few friends together for a trip down the mountain can be entertaining (wears thin after a couple days though)

the fact that this outsold Prince of Persia(the other big ubisoft holiday game) is a travesty. to be fair though, neither game lived up to their expectations or potential. the thing is, where prince of persia is barely above average, this is just awful. barely worth a rental if you ask me.

i think im done with snowboarding games till we get a next gen SSX.

*CRASH BANDICOOT TWINSANTIY(XBOX)*

I was pleasantly suprised after playing this even though it doesn't seem to be getting much praise. This game is a blast with tons of eye-candy, very fun and challenging levels, at times, very challenging. My kids(10 and 7) play most of the time but every once and a while they have to call upon "The Master Video Gamer"(Me-38) to help them through a section. I can't help but get caught up into it while playing, so much so, the kids have to remind me to give the controller back. It's fun!

Look, I've been a Crash fan since the beginning(PS1) and this is a fantastic addition to the series. Even though there's no furriness(I don't think that's a word?) to Crash like the first XBOX Crash and the graphics are alittle on the PS2 side(which isn't bad by any means) the game is very fun and beautiful to look at. I guess I'm just trying to figure out why all the hate?

If you're a Crash Bandicoot fan, you'll love it.

I ordered this Xbox 360 Headset through Quick Buys as fulfilled by Amazon. As you can see on the item page, a black Xbox 360 Headset by Microsoft is pictured. If you go to "View and share related images" (Customer Images) underneath the picture of the headset, you will find an image "from Mike" of a green and white Microsoft box case which the headset comes in.

What I got with my order is a grey and white headset. It came in an orange bag with no Microsoft packaging whatsoever (as opposed to my recent purchases of Microsoft Xbox-related orders from Amazon). Further, the internal copper wiring next to the mic switch is exposed (the sheath is not attached properly) because it was assembled poorly. Please take a look at my photo in the the "View and share related images" section on the item page for further detail.

Thankfully, Amazon was extremely quick and courteous in resolving the issue. It is in my opinion that Quick Buys needs to either change its product advertisement/imaging, or be flagged so other customers do not purchase and receive an item that is not as advertised.

Reviews of Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightPad - Chun-Li

Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightPad - Chun-Li
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
I have the controller with Chun Li on the front. First, let me say that I have read various complaints on web forums from people who say that the diagonals on these controllers don't work quite right. While I don't question the accuracy of these claims, a lot of people (like me) aren't experiencing this problem, so it is clearly something that's only affecting some of the controllers. Oh, and there are apparently some issues with pulling off special moves in Mortal Kombat vs DC. If you're interested in using the Fightpad with that game, I'd suggest you do a bit of research on it, as I'm not sure of the specifics. Now, onto my review ...

I have played with many, many d-pads over the years, and I can say hands down that the best one ever made was the one for the Sega Saturn, specifically the Japanese version. Playing Marvel vs Capcom with that controller is about as close as you can get to 2D fighting game nirvana :) This new Madcatz Fightpad is supposedly modeled off of the Saturn controller. Is it really that good? Well, not quite, but it's still very good. Special moves can be pulled off like butter, and some will say it's actually a little too sensative, because you end up pulling off dragon punches by accident. The d-pad itself is very 'floaty', but I really like it. Needless to say, it is a HUGE improvement over the standard 360 d-pad

At this point, I'm sure some of you are wondering if it's really worth paying $40 for this controller to play SFIV with. Well, let me tell you that this controller also works wonders with some of the more 'retro' style XBLA games, especially Pacman CE. I tried it with this controller and I have a much easier time controlling it than I do on the regular 360 pad. Also, this controller has a 2-speed turbo fire feature, which I tried with R-Type and Mega Man 9; it worked great in both games.

Oh, and it's PC compatable too, though I have not personally tried it.

Overall, I have to give this controller 4 stars instead of 5 because of the problems that some people are having, but I still highly recommend it. However, I would also advise you to buy locally if you can, just in case you get one of the bad ones. That way, it will be easier for you to exchange it if you need to. I would NOT buy it online. As of this writing, it is a bit hard to find. But if you have Gamestops in your area, keep checking there, as that is where I got mine.

So I'm not a professional when it comes to SF4 and basically just loved it from my SNES childhood. So, I opted for a pad and not an arcade stick. The 360 controller just SUCKS for Street Fighter. It has the worst DPad ever and is too clunky for fighting game usage. I moved to a PS3 whose controller is better than a 360 but still not the best. When I finally was able to find an SF4 gamepad, I was overjoyed. There are definitely pros and cons which I will go over.

CONS: The controller has a diagonal that you REALLY need to get used to. Blocking low, for instance, sometimes doesn't happen at all. I'll be in the middle of a block string then get hit because I'm not pressing down and back. When throwing shoto fireballs, you can't just spam them and hit Down to Forward. You basically have to use the outer edge of the circular pad to make sure that the DownForward also gets inputted.

PROS: Pretty much the rest of the pad is a pro. The buttons are laid out very nicely so that you can easily do throws, focus attacks or combos. The d-pad is designed very well so that you can easily slide your thumb from one area to another. I had no problems with jumping forward issues at all (just fireballs). People complain about the shoulder buttons for being cheap but I love them because they respond perfectly just with a tap. I like wired controllers because I don't have to worry about batteries and this one has a nice, long 10 ft cable.

I am surprised at the high rated reviews this product has gotten. I am a fighting game enthusiast and know a good Dpad when I try one. I loved the old-school Nintendo Dpad, and the Playstation 2 Dpad is also very good. They offered precise feel and control. When I got my Xbox 360, I was shocked at how poor the Dpad was on that controller. Everything else, including the analog sticks are so perfect, but the Dpad is clumsy and ineffective. I'd try to hold back to block and end up jumping or doing some other random direction.

So after reading some reviews on different products, I thought I'd give the Madcatz fightpad a try. When I received the package, I already had a gut-feeling that it was no good. This was confirmed moments later as I tried to play with it.

1) The diagonals were very difficult to locate and I couldn't hit them with any consistency. Very bad news in a fighting game. I found that I had to hit a precise 30 degree angle from the down position to get down-back, and that should be 45 degrees, not 30. But this could have been a defect in the particular controller I got, and might not be an issue in others.

2) However, I'm sure for all of these controllers, the feel of the pad would be the same. The floating Dpad is very loosey-goosey. While this makes it very easy to throw fireballs, any slight pressure will move you away from your intended position. So if you needed to hold back to block, you might accidentally jump or duck.

3) The construction/material of the controller feels very light and cheap. This wouldn't have bothered me too much if the controller worked great but it didn't, and this only added to my disappointment.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightPad - Chun-Li

The D-Pad for this fightpad is horrible!

I really like the layout of this controller. The buttons and d-pad are perfect for me. The killer for this controller is the d-pad, it just doesn't work. I read about this controller having a lot of problems, I figured maybe these problems have been fixed by now, but apparently I was wrong.

The diagonals on this controller just don't work. I have this controller plugged into my computer, I can see the input of the directions I press as I press them, I am getting real-time feedback on it. When I press each diagonal on the d-pad, it doesn't always register a diagonal. What it registers is either right, left, up, or down. If I press down HARD on the diagonal, I may get a diagonal command, but ONLY if I press hard on the diagonal, and it will ALWAYS register another direction first BEFORE it registers the diagonal. There's an arrow located on the d-pad for each direction. Up, down, left, right, and the diagonals all have arrows. When I press a diagonal arrow, it goes in a different direction. Huh? If I press the DOWN-RIGHT arrow, it goes RIGHT, and not DOWN-RIGHT.

Some examples: If I press UP-RIGHT on the d-pad, it registers RIGHT. If I tap UP-RIGHT fast on the d-pad, it will iregister RIGHT and only sometimes will it register UP-RIGHT. If I press down hard on UP-RIGHT, it will register RIGHT and then it might register UP-RIGHT.

It never registers only the diagonals first, it will always register another direction first. UP-RIGHT will always execute RIGHT first, DOWN-RIGHT will always execute RIGHT first, UP-LEFT will always execute LEFT first, DOWN-LEFT will always execute LEFT first.

I can NEVER execute just a diagonal command. I tried this many times. I have other cheaper controllers that have no problems executing movements on their d-pads, why does this more expensive one find going in a diagonal so hard.

The buttons work fine. The feel of the controller is great. But what's the point of all that if the d-pad doesn't work.

Maybe people with working controllers got good ones and the rest of us got bad ones, or maybe they just have lower standards, all I know is that this controller sucks. It's not worth all this money for a controller that can't get the basic function of a d-pad right.

There are two reasons to buy this for playing Street Fighter over using a traditional 360 controller: The D-Pad, and the buttons. That may not seem like much, but in the end they're both perfectly executed.

The D-pad is an interesting design. Essentially, it is a very, very small joystick with a d-pad mounted on top. Thus you can move right by either pressing down on the right side, or pushing the pad towards the right. Because of this the movement is very fluid and dynamic, but there is a bit more travel than you would get with a traditional d-pad. I've found it to be very helpful with rotation-based moves (down, downforward, forward), but the distance is less helpful for charge moves (back for 1 second, forward). Directions are quite precise, and I never find that I'm accidentally pressing the wrong way. Overall, it beats any d-pad available on the 360 easily, including previous Mad Katz pads and Hori imports.

Further, the buttons are pure beauty to use. The layout is perfect, and the buttons are spaced far enough apart that I have yet to accidentally mispress. Button action is short and sharp, allowing for faster usage. This is the button layout that the game was made for. The shoulder buttons, unfortunately, are somewhat stiff and difficult to use, but they get the job done.

The pad also features rapid fire, which is pretty easy to use. Hold the rapid fire button, and tap the button you would like to set. A light on the controller blinks as it goes. Simple. As a bonus, the controller is curved almost perfectly so that any button can be held down with a simple rubber band, if you're the kind of cheater who does that sort of thing.

10 seconds after starting off with this controller, it felt perfectly natural in my hands. This is the way the game was meant to be played. Instead of fighting against the controls, I felt like I was playing the game. 40 dollars for a pad that you will probably use on one or two games may seem like a lot (and it is), but this controller is just a pleasure. Highly Recommended.

Halo is one of the best games on the xbox 360, if you get this game then you wouldn't be disapointed for getting this game. As a bonus you will get some map packs and some avatar items such as master chiefs avatar cloak which might appear on your avatar inventory. However if you don't have enough money I recommend getting the Halo 4 standard edition for a better price, also it will be 4.0 GB to install Halo 4 on your Xbox 360 so if you don't have enough memory like the 4GB xbox 360, I suggest you get a USB flash drive with either 8gb or 16gb. Amazon has great deals for USB flash drives, if you have a 250 GB xbox 360 then you are good enough to install halo 4 on it. Master Chief again returns to to save the world again from the enemys attacking the world, enemys might be difficult again like Halo 3. (Also i'm not really good at writing reviews so I did my best to write this review.)

i bought halo 4 and I loved it! It was the best game ever!(in my opinion) I am not a hater but I do feel like there was something missing in halo 4. It didn't have a classic feel, and the campaign is not very beautiful in architecture and landscaping. But the gameplay was Awesome! I have played halo in the past but I like this one the best. I do think they need to have a playlist for people who love halo 1,2,and 3. But overall this game is the best halo game. I do feel like 343 industries didn't hit the spot for halo fans but they sure did make a great halo game.

I own and love all of the 360 Halo games for different reasons. My peronal favorites are Halo Reach and of course Halo 4. No need for me to tell you what DLC you get with this, its all under product details, ill just say that the standard version of this game was amazing and now we get the Halo 4 Game Of The Year Edition witch has made this game epic. Defiantly a must have for all Halo fans, the DLC just gives you a whole lot more to enjoy with this already great game and its well worth a re-buy. Enjoy Halo Nation.

I bought this product as a surprise for my husband. He's played some of the other fishing games, but wasn't ever truly excited about playing them after about an hour and then they'd sit on the shelf. He doesn't get to fish as much as he'd like to for various health reasons, but he really does enjoy the act of fishing. I thought I would take a chance on this game to see if it would raise his spirits a little. I was very surprised by his reaction to the game. He started out by playing the Rod and Reel part of the game and he enjoyed it a little more than other fishing games he has, but I really noticed his excitement level increase when I heard him laughing and whooping it up with our nephew while they were playing the Bow part of the game. I stood watching them both play the game for a while and it looked like they were having a lot of fun shooting the fish. I guess people really do fish with Bows and Spear Guns. My husband is truly happy with the game and has been playing it non stop since since we got it three days ago. He was having so much fun with it that I had to try it myself and I am not really a video game player, but the controls were very easy and after a couple of tries I was catching fish just like my husband was. I even beat him by shooting a record alligator gar!

I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes fishing and hunting games because this game has something the other games seem to lack, continuous enjoyment after the first few hours of playing. Oh, and the controls are easy enough that even I can play it. It's nice to have a game my family can enjoy together, now if I can just get him to give me a turn with the controller...

Shimano Xtreme fishing is probably the most entertaining fishing game on the Wii. In addition to traditional rod and reel fishing there is bowfishing and spearfishing. The rod and reel fishing is fun but doesn't do anything new for the genre. The main difference in rod fishing is it is a lot faster paced than most other fishing games, you will never be bored sitting and waiting for a bite. Bowfishing and especially spearfishing is where the real excitement starts. In bowfishing you drive around on a boat and use a bow to shoot fish. Spearfishing is a lot like bowfishing except you are underwater in scuba gear and use a speargun. Some fish are bigger and need multiple hits. Spearfishing has a decent soundtrack to go with it and the underwater environments look pretty good. There are a lot of cool props such as downed planes, ancient ruins, sunken ships and bonus treasures. The coolest thing about spearfishing has to be fighting off sharks and alligators while hunting fish. The game becomes a lot of fun while trying to get the highest score you can to get gold medals and unlock new equipment and places. This means hunting the sharks and looking for monster fish. There is also a fish book that keeps track of your biggest catches, and there are a lot of different fish in this game. The other fishing games don't even come close to the number of fish you can catch in this. There is also a multiplayer shooter mode that is actually pretty fun if you have three friends to play with. Hitting that monster fish to steal the lead from one of your friends towards the end is pretty exciting.

I do have some minor complaints about the game. The graphics are "ok" but are not the best. They are about on par with most of the other fishing games offered. Rod fishing isn't as fun as the bowfishing and spearfishing modes. There are some weird instances where the character or fish can swim through objects, but it doesn't happen a lot and it doesn't really affect gameplay. Spearfishing in 3rd person view is kind of cool but it is a lot easier to shoot fish in the first person mode it seems.

If you are looking for a good new fishing experience on the Wii Shimano Xtreme Fishing is definitely a game to pick up. Most other fishing games can get boring and repetitive within an hour of playing. Shimano Xtreme Fishing is really three games in one with the different modes of play. There are a lot of things to unlock and a lot of fish to catch. Freefishing mode and multiplayer also add to the fun and extend the gameplay. If you don't really like fishing games to begin with Shimano Xtreme Fishing probably won't change your mind. Still, there is something satisfying to shooting a 700 lb shark swimming right towards you, so who knows?

If the idea of fighting fish appeals to you, check this game out.

The good stuff

Lots and lots to do. This is three games in one. It has regular rod and reel fishing, bow fishing, and spear fishing with scuba. Each one of these is big enough to be a separate game.

The modes are good. The rod and reel is as good as any rod and reel I've played, maybe better. The bow fishing is tons of fun, but maybe closer to hunting then fishing. My favorite is the spear fishing. You swim around underwater with scuba, shoot a ton of fish and run into sharks (and in one level gators) who attack you.

Multi-player is very fast moving, lots of fun, but for bow fishing and spear fishing (not rod and reel)

Control and sound are great, really tight. Graphics gets the job done ok.

Stuff to know

The T rating is probably because of the fish blood in bow fishing and spear fishing modes.

When in the spear diving mode, push 1 for first person. Definitely much better that way!

You can use a nunchuck to reel in the fishing line, but I didn't see much point in it, liked using the B button better

Though it's a fishing game, the bow action in bow fishing is a lot like hunting

If you like catching fish, you'll like this. Just be sure you are OK with a little fish blood.

Honest reviews on Shimano Xtreme Fishing - Nintendo Wii

This is not a "hardcore fishing simulation." Rather, it is a fast and fun "action fishing" game. Actually, 3 games in one. First there is traditional fishing which is similar to other games, but moves at a much faster pace. Then the game adds bowfishing (using a bow and arrow to shoot at fish from a boat) and spear fishing (swimming underwater and pursuing fish with a speargun.) Both are fun and, as far as I know, totally unique game experiences.

There is also a mutiplayer "shooting gallery" style mode where up to four players can bow or spear fish together.

I think it is suitable for kids. There is a little blood in the water, but the game doesn't really focus on that. Rather you are concentrating on getting a high score and seeing the new types of fish you've caught. There are lots of different fish including many I've never seen in a fishing game before.

My son got this game for Christmas. He began bow fishing so I thought he would enjoy it. He loves it! You can do tournaments or free fish. In addition to bow fishing, you can spear fish or fish with a rod & reel. There are many fishing games out there, but this is the first bow fishing game I have seen. It's unique & fun. I would recommend this game if you love fishing. It's a great game for under $30.

If you have Xbox 360 and can NOT, i repeat, can NOT connect to the internet on your console via Xbox Live then do NOT buy this. You must be connected to the internet to download the DLC (downloadable content) via Xbox Live. When it says DLC included on the game cover, all this means is that you receive a pre-paid code to enter, which will grant free access to downloading the DLC to your console. Xbox requires you download the DLC as if it were a patch or an update instead of the DLC coming pre-loaded on the actual game disc. I have Xbox Live and everything has worked very well for me. You will save more money buying this than if you were to buy the game and the DLC separately. Remember you MUST HAVE internet access via your console to download the extra playable content. Hope this clears up any confusion.

I realize that it's frustrating to have gone out and bought the game only to find it's the original Resident Evil 5 with a token for the downloadable content. But actually, if you don't already own the game, it's a really good deal. It's cheaper than how much the game was when it first came out, and the extra content is free with the token, so you really save money. So yes, Capcom wasn't clear about how this package worked, but I still rate it 5 stars because it's still a great game with a good storyline, great graphics, tons of replayability, and now extras that can be downloaded.

Best Deals for Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition - Xbox 360

Resident Evil 5:Gold Edition is certainly a great idea if you do not already own the game being as it comes with the game itself, being cheaper than the game was before, and comes with the expansions that add to massive playability compared to the older game. Now a quick warning that if you already own the game don't go whining about how you were cheated at buying the same game twice, CAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT IS! This is merely the same game with all the expansions freely included, and the rights to having a cooler looking box cover than your friends whom hastily bought it when it first came out.

Versus Mode-This is really four different game modes to play with up to 3 other people besides yourself. You can do a little team deathmatch or deathmatch itself and try to kill the opposing players with monsters running around. Slayers and Team slayers are where you fight to get a much higher score than the other players by killing enemies.

Lost in Nightmares-This is an expansion scenario in which it explains Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine's adventure before resident evil 5 and explains a little bit more on how it happened. This expansion is fun and comes with a classic mode*(see bottom) which gives a little bit of "nostalgic" feel to the game.

Desperate Escape-This expansion explains how Josh Stone and Jill Valentine escape the tricell institute and come back to save Sheva and Chris at the end of the game. This expansion is pretty fun with lots of action and certainly adds to the replayablility with a brand new character to play as.

Mercenaries Reunion-Just wow, this expansion adds onto the massive hit on the Resident Evil 5 game by increasing the great fun it previously was. More enemies, More Melee attacks, Team attacks, Cool New music, and EIGHT (yes 8!) brand new characters to play with in mercenaries with some of your buddies.

Eight New Characters-Chris(warrior)Chris(Heavy Metal)Sheva(Fairy Tale)Sheva(Business Suit)Josh Stone, Excella Gionne are a few of the new characters in mercenaries including Rebbecca Chambers(Co-star's of Resident Evil 0-1) and Resident Evils very own Barry Burton are also joining the Frey.

All in all this is a great deal if you do not own the game already, but if you do it might be best just to go buy some microsoft points. =)

*classic mode simply means being a fixed camera like the origional resident evils, only for die hard fans, if your interested try checking up some of the origional resident evils on youtube.

Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first....

The engine:

The one big flaw is the load/save times. Everybody hates it and everybody should. The game is easily worth the annoyance that comes with this, but c'mon people...learn to optimize your code! By the end of the game I kept a magazine at my computer which allowed me to tolerate it better...I recommend you plan ahead and do the same. I also had about one crash/ 6 hours gameplay. If you include an occasional combat lock (character would enter a tragic stutter loop, especially when pinned against impassable terrain and monsters) it came to about one forced reload / 3 hours. I don't consider that too bad for RPGs...it just isn't possible to test everything for every computer. Of course, the annoyance factor for a crash is way higher when reloading takes forever. On the flip side I never had to go farther back than one save because of a plot break.

Graphics:

Very good. Not groundbreaking, but immersive and high quality. I found myself chasing a bunch of pigeons just to watch them take off and climb higher and higher into the sky. The sunset is beatiful and lights up the whole sky. I started with the settings on high until the additional load-times outweighed the eyecandy enjoyment (about halfway through).

The combat system(gameplay):

Innovative and interesting. The attack chaining system is good, though a little unfair how easy some enemies are 'stun-locked.' Magic and swordplay interact well. They both become very powerful, but not too fast to be uninteresting. I highly recommend playing the game on hard to keep it interesting though...hard forces you to use alchemy to survive. This triumverate (sword, sorcery, alchemy), makes combat and character development very engaging. There is more than one way to conquor the system. The character has one MAJOR advantage though...speed. You can easily outrun anything. While some combats were a struggle, I could usually start running while under the influence of the 'speed healing' potion and ultimately win against more powerful enemies. Also, the game does depend on a few basic click skills. If you get stuck on one it could be very frustrating. Be sure your graphic settings do not kill your mouse timing. Also, IMHO the over the shoulder camera is far superior to the others...for all aspects of the game.

Inventory system:

Some good choices, some mediocre ones. Keeping quest items separate was a stroke of genius. You never have to worry about dropping a primary plot item. Treating big items (weapons and armor) separate from little ones (alcohol, food, greases) is a mixed blessing. There is no way to sell or delay choosing between weapons. They provide you with generous inn storage, but your on person storage is more limited. Personally I think they should go all or nothing (either very realistic like Stalker, or total conveinence (unlimited secondary items...unlimited weapons and armor would be going too far). However, there was clearly significant thought put into the whole system and it shows.

Storyline:

Slightly on the linear side, but there is still a strong sandbox element. The real strength is how your early choices impact the game later. It makes you think about the big choices for a long time because they really matter. Sometimes the consequences are very orthogonal, other times they are more predictable. There are a good number of interesting sidequests. Of special side quest note is the very 'notches on the bedpost' type set of cards that you collect for your 'secondary' conquests. While this is somewhat lewd, it is a very nice touch which adds alot of color to the game. Gambling and boxing are also secondary conquests which add alot of color. Very nice distractions from the main plot yet different from the standard FedEx side-quests. Because of the long range effect of plot choices, replayability is somewhat all or nothing. Reloading and trying the other choice works well for dialog options but not for plot twists. If you are a completist, prepare to be sucked in for a LONG time.

The verdict:

The real strength of the game is how it balances the different RPG elements. In this area it is amongst the best RPGs of all time. Most RPGs usually fail somewhere. Some lack a driving primary story that alters the world and choices that matter (Oblivion); some have character or combat development flaws (gothic 2...ever play a mage?); some are HORRENDOUSLY buggy (gothic 3); some are too linear (final fantasy). No game is perfect and much is a matter of taste, but most RPG gamers will greatly appreciate this offering...as long as they are patient with the loadtimes.

4.5-5 stars for the game. Subtract a star for the aggravating load times = solid 4 star game.

As a fan of some European games such as the Gothic series, I got my hopes up pretty high when I heard this one was making it into the States. I was a bit disheartened to learn that the U.S. version is somewhat censored (self-censored by the publisher, not the government or ESRB), and owning the uncensored version I can tell you that the differences are mostly minor and do not detract overall from the story.

Being built on the NWN engine, you wouldn't know it. The entire rendering engine has been replaced, the control scheme is very different, and virtually the only thing I can say I recognized were some of the item highlights and inventory selection. Instead of tilesets, the developer designed each area in 3DSMax, and imported them into the engine.

The results are very fresh and unique areas, and each area has the 'look' that the developer envisioned.

I have not read the books by the Polish author who came up with the idea, and I do not believe they are yet available here in the U.S., but I do have to say that the story is very engaging, the characters are believable, the interaction and choices are real, and this is a very 'deep' RPG which forces you to make real choices that have no apparent right or wrong answer.

The world isn't black and white, and most RPGs are. Not this one every choice is shades of gray, and you will find it difficult to make decisions, sometimes which bear down to the lesser of two evils.

If I had to compare it to other games, I'd say you had the story telling ability of Gothic, the feel of Knights of the Old Republic, and a bit of unique feel to the game.

I believe this is worth the purchase, and even though I think the title of the game might put some people off, you won't be disappointed.

There are no bugs to speak of, though a patch is available for download which fixes some minor annoyances.

In all, I think this is a gem that may be overlooked by some at first glance, but for those who pick it up it will be one of those games you fondly remember as among your favorites.

Best Deals for The Witcher - PC

This is the most awaited fantasy cRPG in the past 2 years. For most part, IT DELIVERS!

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL cRPG GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED!

The environments are detailed, realistic, and can be experienced from up close. Grass, flowers and tree branches moved in both FABLE and TITAN QUEST as well; these, however, seem so true I caught myself reaching for my...antihistamines! Weather affects and day-night alterations (you have to see the elongating shadows to believe them!) are just gorgeous! More importantly, these are not just eye-candy: certain NPCs and monsters appear only when the correct combination of time-of-day and weather coincide...The horizon is far and the clouds move in endless variations. It reminded me of the sky of the original UNREAL, another visually ground-breaking game at its time. PURE VISUAL MAGIC!

The character (Geralt) can master both sword-fighting and magic spells (what is known as a Warlock). To some die-hard RPG fans this may seem like heresy, nevertheless, keep in mind that multi-classing is not unheard off. The movement repertoire for both practices are impressively designed. Especially the sword-fighting, it is at par to any console action game. And the spells (both offensive and defensive ones) are not less impressive.

Free roaming? Yes and no. One can decide which parts of the map he will visit but loading is still needed to travel even annoyingly short distances. And since quests and side-quest still have to be completed, yes, eventually a subtle, yet ever present, directionality is present.

Looting and bartering? Aaah...yes, sort of. You practically never change the sword you start off with (although you do get to improve its abilities), whereas good armor is only a little easier to come by compared to PLANESCAPE. On the upside, you get to gamble, have romantic relationships (FABLE was full of great ideas after all!) and bribe for information, so trinkets have other uses as well.

Detailed character modifiers? Nothing like the AD&D rules. You gain talents (gold, silver & bronze) which you can spend to improve your fighting or magical abilities. Pretty much like the DIABLO or the TITAN QUEST abilities systems.

So, apart for the slight action-cRPG handicap, I have only two other objections. First, the...camera placement. Once more (remember NWN2...) auto-placement can get on your nerves as it targets your character even if that is not the most logical option. Second, the controls. They need getting used to as the fighting combos are easily ruined by clicking out of sync. You do eventually get the hold of it, however it keeps glitching.

Whereas the BALDUR's GATES saga was story-heavy but (by today standards) visually lacking and the NEVERWINTER NIGHTS series was found, well, wanting in both aspects, THE WITCHER is the dream cRPG that BIOWARE was supposed to be capable of releasing all along. Finally it is here.

RECOMMENDED!

PS:

It has come up in the readers' comments, so I feel I should warn that this is the CENSORED version (the original version has some nudity and more...realistic language). Obviously, once more, ATARI believes America to be violence-insatiable yet sexually-immature.

I understand that these issues are important to many parents and they do have the right to raise their children as they see fit. Nevertheless, I would rather BOTH versions were available to chose from.

The uncensored version is available in Europe (you could try amazon.uk).

Honest reviews on The Witcher - PC

This is one of the best RPG's I've played since Morrowind. It doesn't have the depth of exploration or interaction of Morrowind. But it goes beyond the current run-of-the-mill RPG.

I usually don't pay attention to the story line because typically there isn't much of one. But this game differs. There's a story; it's interesting and it changes depending on the choices you make.

The fun factor is definitely a 5-star rating, although I think the re-play value is limited. Certainly, it's more limited than Morrowind, which I still play 5 years later.

Pros:

-Story draws you in. You want to play.

-Graphics

-Lots of quests (many are secondary, if you don't want to do them)

-Simple/limited keyboard use (a con, if you like to control the moves yourself)

-Interaction the story is linear, but the secondary quests you follow, and when you follow them, are up to you up to a point. There's significantly more interaction than Diablo II, but significantly less than Morrowind.

-Intuitive play Few "I'm stuck" areas. I played this as soon as it came out, so there was virtually no online help. But I didn't feel like I needed it. There really wasn't anything I couldn't figure out.

Cons:

-Game and scene load times (Game load takes 60-90 seconds on my laptop, and the processor is just under the minimum requirement. Scene load time takes about 30 seconds. Word is, a patch to address this problem is in the works.)

-Occasional black shadow, if playing with minimum graphics (I have a GeForce Go 7600, which is a 128 mg card running with 2g RAM.)

-Drawing a weapon is automatic and out of the player's control. There are a limited number of scenes where this is an issue; for instance, when you walk into an inn and encounter 5 or 6 bad guys with weapons already drawn and in attack mode. You have to wait for the game to respond, which means taking a hit (or 2).

-No character choice. You're a witcher and that's that. You have limited choices on how you build him up to rely on the sword or magic.

If you liked Neverwinter Nights or Baldur Gates, you will probably like The Witcher. Other similar games include Diablo, Diablo II, Lords of Destruction and Titan Quest.

**UPDATE** For PC users, the fine makers of this game have released the 1.2 patch which DRAMATICALLY improves load times (by about 1/2 according to my tests) Now I am going to be yearning for the next release!! (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) :)

I accidentally discovered this game (that's the way I usually find a new game) through an Amazon "suggestion". My life will never be the same now. Not since Planescape Torment has there been an RPG that touches on something completely different as a story line. Unlike other reviews, I'm not going to include a whole bunch of other stuff that you don't need to read... I'm just going to say you HAVE to buy The Witcher. I have only a couple of minor complaints about this game: Load times can be excruciatingly slow (but are worth it in the long run) and quest progression can be a little bit confusing at times. Other than that, I will never regret buying this game and it will be a prized "member" of my collection for years to come.
