Review of Sonic Generations Casino Night DLC
Don't be fooled; this isn't really a brand new stage for Sonic Generations at all. Rather, it's a pinball minigame that console players got by pre-ordering the game.
As a pinball game, it's decent enough. It's fun, and the core gameplay is very addictive, as the layout of the stage changes in response to your actions. However, the ball physics are sometime a little strange, and you may find yourself having to tilt just to get out of a place where you were stuck. Still, there is a little bit of variety in that you're not merely confined to the table; you can actually get launched into little mini-stages beyond the main play area.
But, this DLC sort of runs into a problem. Chances are that if you're the type of person who likes to play virtual pinball, you've already played much better pinball games than this, and there's really no reason for you to play. On the other hand, if you don't like pinball to begin with, there's nothing for you here. The DLC's status as a pre-order bonus is fairly evident once you see how little incentive there is to purchase this content after having beaten the game.
Unfortunately, there is no real objective in the game other than to go for a high score, and the minigame has absolutely zero impact on the rest of the game. There are no rewards to be earned from playing it, and there aren't even online leaderboards to my knowledge. You're literally paying for a completely isolated minigame that has no connection to any levels you may have enjoyed in Sonic Generations.
The DLC is cheap, but just know what you're getting. You're paying for a satisfactory minigame, and nothing more. If you're hoping for new platforming stages based on the classic Casino Nights zones, you'll have to keep waiting.

This DLC is pretty neat, but after a while, it gets sort of boring. It kills time at least. Too bad there's nothing collect or anything. (Like the Red Star Rings)Best Deals for Sonic Generations Casino Night DLC
I thought this download would be a high def version of the classic Sonic 2 Casino Night level design. I was mistaken and found it was actually just a pinball game with elements from the level. For a couple of bucks it's okay.Honest reviews on Sonic Generations Casino Night DLC

I don't think this is something you need, especially as you can still find sonic spinball, but it's still fun, and worth a few bucks if it goes on sale.Monday, December 8, 2014

Bought the KontrolFreek extensions since i have big hands and the xbox controller is small to me. The extensions are great. I am using both styles and both work great.
I was pleasantly surprised, again, for my gaming style in FPS games, such as COD Black Ops 2, BF3 etc..
that it really did calm down the aiming.
Product came as described, delivered on time as stated.
Would recommend to others that are looking to change up their game play in an FPS.
Very cool product!
the extra height on the right thumb is phenomenal for aiming though... it will improve your gaming scores once you get the hang on it.
i recommend for you left thumb some thing made or rubber than just slips on top and doesnt add height but rather surface area... i would not recommend any of the other style KrontrolFreek attachments for the left thumb.
IMO a rubber grip for the left thumb stick is the way to go... except for racing, then the steering one included in this kit works great...

I've used the KontrolFreeks now for several weeks and have not found them to really be that useful unless you love sniping within your favorite FPS game. I found that my hand and even my wrist were uncomfortable after several hours of gameplay due to the elevated thumbs (These simply sit on top of your existing buttons making them easily 300% taller.) This also is a pain due to the fact that when you're transitioning your thumb to an analog button, the motion take just that much longer... All in all I would not recommend these and certainly would not purchase again.Best Deals for KontrolFreek GamerPack ULTRA

Atomic Bomberman - PC Reviews
I ordered a shiny new case for the game about 3 months ago, and it was about 12 bucks. Not bad for a mint condition disc! However, the only bad thing about it was the case's center that snaps the disc in place broke. Not to worry though, the CD is snug into a new casing, while the old "display" case is intact, but with a completely broken center snapping piece, cause I broke the rest of it. >P
Overall, I've been waiting for this game for a REALLY long time, and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of retro gaming, instead of the usual next-gen stuff, but that's just my opinion anyway. The full installer, which is recommended if you want most of the awesome gameplay, even music, is only about 560MB's of space, but you'd still need 600MB give or take, it's really not that much compared to the heightened memory nowadays.
Prompt shipment was a plus as well, but I forgot the seller's username. Oh well.
Anyway, this is DarkMike signing out. See ya.
So there's quite a bit of reasoning as to why Bomberman is striking PCs. I'm pretty sure everyone had a Windows computer in his/her household, so why not make Bomberman that accessible to everyone? Interplay saw this, and as they managed to obtain Hudson's approval, they gave us this.
Atomic Bomberman is a pretty spruced up offering in the franchise. The graphics are incredible and eye-popping, the music is catchy and techno-y (However, sadly, there's no music during play), and the atmosphere in general is just pretty awesome. With this new look, you'd think that there would be changes in the gameplay right? Fortunately, there isn't. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. What I think is really impressive is that the game supports online play with up to a whopping TEN people! I'm not exactly sure how to set it all up, considering I own a Windows 7 laptop, but I bet the result is more than worth it!
Also, it turns out that the game is pretty customizable. You could make your own Bomberman levels, graphics, and even change the messages! This is difficult for the younger audience to do, since it's all supposed to be done via Text documents and possibly other stuff, but it's still a pretty cool feature for those that can figure it all out.
If there's anything I am kinda concerned about, it's the voice acting. It's not BAD, but it feels weird at times. In fact, despite the game rated K-A for Kids-to-Adults (The early E for Everyone rating), Interplay snuck in some voice clips that are rather aimed at teens and beyond ("You blow!" "Eat my dust and lick my >BLEEP

Unfortunately the game I recieved was defective. I tried loading it on 1 Windows XP computer 32 bit and 2 different Windows 7 machines 64 bit. They wouldn't fully set-up. So I returned it as defective. It looks like a great game, as I have every other Bomberman game ever released for the various gaming systems. If you can get a good one try it.Best Deals for Atomic Bomberman - PC
Bomberman's basic gameplay is massively addicting. Not only do you get to blow up walls (Or other structures representing walls), but you can also gather up various kinds of power-ups that make things even more fun (Glove lets you pick up bombs, Fire makes the bomb's explosion, the Skull does a surprise effect that'll either help you or make you suffer in play, etc).So there's quite a bit of reasoning as to why Bomberman is striking PCs. Discount Crash Twinsanity - Xbox
I just got a demo copy of the PS2 version and it is great. The graphics were good, they were very colorful, and the XBox version will look better with fur shading, real lighting, real shadows, and a good steady framerate. The game has the same feel as the first two, and is as good as i hoped.
I was pleasantly suprised after playing this even though it doesn't seem to be getting much praise. This game is a blast with tons of eye-candy, very fun and challenging levels, at times, very challenging. My kids(10 and 7) play most of the time but every once and a while they have to call upon "The Master Video Gamer"(Me-38) to help them through a section. I can't help but get caught up into it while playing, so much so, the kids have to remind me to give the controller back. It's fun!
Look, I've been a Crash fan since the beginning(PS1) and this is a fantastic addition to the series. Even though there's no furriness(I don't think that's a word?) to Crash like the first XBOX Crash and the graphics are alittle on the PS2 side(which isn't bad by any means) the game is very fun and beautiful to look at. I guess I'm just trying to figure out why all the hate?
If you're a Crash Bandicoot fan, you'll love it.

Good unit. A bargain. A required accessory for anyone with an extensive/elaborate home theatre system. Good to have on hand when you run out of digital audio optical inputs on your receiver. Note: in the review section for this product, the amazon computer categorized this item as a "game", and asked me for the number of stars for "how much fun is this game?", and then for the number of stars for "how would you rate this game overall?". The system did not allow any way to proceed without assigning stars. I thus gave the "fun" category 0 stars, and the "overall" category 5 stars... the PRODUCT deserves it.

I got this to run my DirecTV, XBox and PS3 into my surround sound. It works exactly as it's supposed. The 3rd port is a little picky so you have to have the switch lined up perfectly. I'm not complaining as this is much easier than switching cords by hand behind the surround system. The cords that came with it seem to be good quality and I haven't noticed any less quality of sound.Honest reviews on Toslink 3x1 Optical Audio Bi-Directional Switch + (4) 3ft Toslink
I've had this unit over a year now. It works great! Sometimes the lever that switches between sources can be a little tricky, just make sure it snaps in place. I bought this as my TV doesn't have an optical output and my soundbar only has one optical input so I have to move wires between my PS3 and Apple TV. The cables don't fit in snugly to this switch and always feels as though they will disconnect. I wanted it for multiple inputs and one output as the switch is supposedly bi-directional. Only one of the 3 inputs even worked. If I moved the switch to the other two the switch didn't work. I am thankful I didn't spend more on it since it belongs in the trash.Sunday, October 19, 2014
Best Pelican Pelpl2026 Xbox 3-in-1 Starter Kit Deals
I bought a similar Pelican starter kit at circuit city for cheaper and so far it is great. The controller feels well built and is like the newer controller put out by Xbox. It is not to bulky it is just the right size. The case that mine came with feels kind of flimsy but it does not matter that much. I don't know why they would include an extension cable because the cable on the controller is already long enough.I also don't understand why on my controller they put two sets of black and white buttons. One set in the regular place and the other up by the left and right triggers. If you want to get this a little cheaper I suggest going over to Circuit City.

We used to love playing this! It was so hard to find in any other format. This was my first time ordering a game online to download on the WII and I was glad that the process proved to be very easy (I googled the how-to online and printed off the directions). We are having a great time playing it, just as fun and addicting as I remembered it. I play with family members or the computer option and it has a lot of different playing levels so that I can play against someone of any skill and still make it challenging.Best Deals for Dr. Mario Online Rx
I bought this off the Nintendo Channel and it is worth every penny if you enjoy puzzle games. The gameplay is fun to play and keeps you entertained for sometime. The graphics look great and so does the sound. The multiplayer and online features are excellent. The newest option called Virus Buster is a great addition to an already excellent game. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who loves puzzle games and loves Mario.Honest reviews on Dr. Mario Online Rx
The experience purchasing this product was absolutely flawless and within minutes the game was downloaded and being played. Those that are looking at this product likely don't need a review of Dr. Mario, but rather how the modern virtual console version works. I can say it's perfect and haven't experienced any issues with anything.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Dr. Mario Online Rx
We play this a lot on the Nintendo 64, and love it. We figured now would be a good time to upgrade, and we now play this on our Wii. There are a couple downfalls to the switch. One is the versus, 2 player mode. It does not have the best 2 out of three, so we have to keep track of who's ahead. This is annoying because we often have tournaments with many other people, so when we have to count the wins ourselves it can be overwhelming. The controls are very touchy, and obviously different from the older version. Another downgrade, in my opinion, is that the player's score is not displayed on the screen when playing in two player or multi player. Another downfall, however very minor, is that the system does not allow you to change the background, and we have lost the original characters for play! You can choose your own Mii. which is good. All in all, it's a great game and it's keeping the classics alive.Monday, August 18, 2014
Buy The Hobbit
I played the GameCube version, but it is also available on PC, PS2, XBOX.
The Hobbit is a pretty good action adventure with appealing graphics and a lot of nice features. The game progresses through Tolkien's story, with each level representing a location from the book.
What to expect:
* Although the gameplay consists mostly of combat, platform jumping, and rope climbing, there is a fair amount of stealth and even real puzzle solving as well.
* While there's only one crucial timed sequence in the game, there are lots of little optional ones that can reap all sorts of goodies: Lockpicking is actually a minigame where you must trigger one or more moving mechanisms on a locked chest before the time runs out. While some chests won't fault you for failing, most chests will injure or poison you if you're too slow or make a wrong move.
* Through the course of the game you will obtain different weapons, starting out with the relatively weak but far-reaching walking stick. Other weapons include the shorter, but more powerful sword Sting, and throwing rocks of various kinds.
* You need every skill you acquire in the game. Different levels focus on different abilities (sneaking, jumping, fighting).
* Enemies and quests become steadily more difficult throughout the game.
* The game is just long enough to be satisfying and make you feel you've gotten your money's worth, but not so long that you get bored with it.
* At the end of each level you're presented with a screen that shows how many gems, coins, and chests you discovered as well as the total number available in that level.
What's good:
* The graphics are colorful and intriguing. A decidedly different look from the live action LOTR films and the older animated ones.
* Level design is generally good; each new location has a unique atmosphere and presents new challenges.
* Purple "journey gems" that guide you to important locations. These gems often appear when you reach new phases in the main quest, and are indispensable at timesespecially during the final sequence, which is timed.
* There are goodies scattered all throughout the game, some out in the open, many hidden or locked in chests. What's great here is that you only have to walk in the general proximity of these items and they magically come to you. (Likewise when you dispatch enemies and they drop looteven if they're across a chasm!) This is much nicer than games where you must make physical contact with all loot in order to retrieve it.
* All dialog is spoken, and the voices are pretty good.
* There's a very nice quest log that clearly identifies optional and required quests, and checks tasks off as you complete them.
* After completing each level you get to visit a store where you can use coins you collected to buy potions, rocks and upgrades that allow you to carry more items.
* Like most console games, you can't save wherever/whenever you want; you can only save at various "save pedestals" scattered around Middle Earth. What's nice is there are plenty of pedestals to be found, and they're almost always located right before particularly dangerous areas.
* When Bilbo does something that affects another area (for example, flipping a switch that opens a door in another room), the game always quickly cuts to the other location to let you see what just happened. This feedback is helpful and important.
* Some replay value, in that you may feel compelled to go through the game again just to find all the goodies you missed the first time.
What's bad:
* I encountered a clipping issue where Bilbo became permanently stuck on a mushroom. I loaded a saved game and avoided that mushroom after that.
* While camera control is usually pretty good, there are numerous tight spots where you simply can't get the camera at a good angle, or worsewhen the camera keeps moving when you're trying to do something.
My rating (from Very Bad to Very Good): Very Good
You will probably like this game if you liked these: American McGee's Alice, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Overall a wonderful purchase. The only RPG for the Cube that was better was Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
The graphics are much better then Mario and Zelda combined. The characters give realistic expressions (some of which I got a kick out of). Everything is very detailed, even down to the water running down the side of a rock.
This is truly an Action-Adventure game. Bilbo explores a total of 11 levels, and eavh level is HUGE two times the size of the biggest Mario level. When it comes to the Action, there's a lot of it. You can have atleast 20 battles in each level (except the Shire), and in some levels you can have 40. You fight wargs, goblins, spiders, spirits of the Necromancer, and a few wierd creatures I don't know the name of.
The cool thing about this game is that the characters speak audibly; you're not just reading words on a screen. Also, the characters don't blab on and on for like ten minutes. They usually just say a few things, but if the conversation is getting to long for you, you can just hit the Start button to end the whole thing. Very handy.
The game follows the book pretty well, but in a few places the game changes the story a little. For example, a whole part is added between when Bilbo loses the group in the goblin tunnels and meets Gollum.
The only problems in this game are that you can't go back to previous levels, and it was a little easy. I beat it in two weeks, playing about an hour a day. Other than that, this game is almost perfect.

I bought this game last (11/12/03) night, and I have to say it's really good. I'm a huge fan of Tolkien's work, and this game is a tribute to his book. The cinematic sequences are fantastic, the in-game graphics are superb, and the game play is loads of fun. The music is great (it doesn't sound repetitive like other games), and the voice acting is spot on. I've been waiting for months for this title to be released and I wasn't disappointed. This game is a "must have" for any Tolkien fan.Best Deals for The Hobbit
Unlike Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers this game actually makes you think. In other words it's not just a button mashing game to get from level to level. Excellent game play. Just the right mix of combat, puzzle-solving and exploring. Great graphics and decent voice acting and nicely follows the book though it does take some liberties. Also I loved the music: very much fits the theme of the game.Overall a wonderful purchase. The only RPG for the Cube that was better was Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Honest reviews on The Hobbit
"The Hobbit" is the best RPG I have played yet. With only a few flaws, I recommend the game to everyone. It does have some violence, but there's no gore or blood. After you defeat an enemy, they disapear, turning into "Courage Points". Once Bilbo collects enough Courage Points, his Health Meter increases.

Review of Gallop Racer
It's simply the best. My Dad and I have seen the sun come up a many mornings playing Gallop Racer. All of my other games are just collecting dust since we've been running horses. I'm 12 years old, my dad's been taking me to the race track since I was a baby. We race a couple horses every year. The only diffences between the game and real racing is you don't win real money and you don't have to go out to feed and train. I would rate this game 100 stars. The horses look real they run like real horses, the jocks look and ride like the Hall of Famers. You start a career create your very own jockey (male or female) in your silks, buy a horse or two and start winning races. You can run in regular stakes or graded stakes, where the big boys run. It's just so real the better he is on the track, the better he is in the breeding barn. Breed that tripple crown winner and get your horse and jockey into the Hall of Fame and other great awards. If your husband enjoy horse racing or you want him and your son to spend some quality time together get them this game. Gotta go now, got one about to run in the Louisiana Derby.
This game makes me feel like I am really riding and racing my own horses. Gallop Racer is my all-time favorite PS1 game.

This is a must have game! You get to choose from over 100 horses, you get to own, breed, race, and retire your horse. You are the jockey. You can choose from male/female,the uniform and colors you wear. You can own up to 10 horses. You can save your season game. You can choose where and when you race depending on the horses age and where it runs best at. You can also name your breeded horse' offspring! If you are in to horses and racing, this is the game for you! Everyone I know loves this game!Best Deals for Gallop Racer
This is one game you can't miss. If you like horses and/or racing, then this is the one. Challenge a friend, race the field in practice while you learn the ropes, or try your hand at raising a winning barn. It's got it all! Loads of fun that I still haven't tired of or already beaten. So, if you want a great game, then "Gallop Racer" is for you!Honest reviews on Gallop Racer
Gallop Racer is a great game. The horses all have different personalities and running styles. They also come in a wide range of colors and markings. In Season Mode, you buy your own stable of horses with the money that you are given and the money that you earn from races. The graphics are really cool too. Races can even be run in the rain and snow! But, it takes awhile to become a good jockey. In order to become good, you have got to practice all the time! But in the end it pays off. When you start to win more races, better horses, bigger races, and new racetracks are unlocked. My favorite beginner race horses are Lively Beat, Sexy Sunrise,Welsh Chapel, and Single Night. My favorite advanced horses are All You Can, Frugal Lark, Courtly Lark, Gothic Value, Gray Sky, Solar Blond, Utmost Mover, Honest Bird, Hell Billy, White Stage, and Warm Star. This game makes me feel like I am really riding and racing my own horses. Gallop Racer is my all-time favorite PS1 game.

My daughter was always renting this game from the video store and loved it so much that I decided to give it a try. I'm not much of a video game player, but I've got to tell you that this really is an awesome game, especially if you enjoy horses. It has so many different aspects to it that you never get bored! There's a lot to consider and I wish that the manual was just a tad more detailed in a couple of areas. That would be helpful when you are first starting out, but my 9 year old daughter was able to pick right up on the jest of the game, and with some help from me, she is really understanding and learning about the actual training and breeding end of horse-racing. She can race against the computer or against me, or just bet on races when she gets tired of that... The graphics are terrific and you can adjust the weather, the views and pick any number of horses and race tracks. It's so much fun that we don't want to stop playing it to take it back to the video store, so that is why we are buying our own copy... It's fun for ALL!Thursday, July 31, 2014

Review of Strike Witches: Shirogane no Tsubasa
Strike Witches for the 360 is a shmup adaptation of the anime by the same name. You control three girls who fly around the screen in formation, shooting everything in your path, collecting point items, and avoiding enemy bullets. This game is region locked for Japan only; I use a Japanese 360 to play it.
There's a story mode and arcade mode (play story mode to unlock those characters in arcade mode). The story mode has cutscenes that interrupt the game every minute or so, with character still images and voice acting. It's annoying since they constantly take you in and out of the action, but they are skippable thankfully.
Shooting and dodging bullets is accomplished using dual-stick control. One stick is used for movement, and the other for shooting direction. It's simple and effective controls, no complains here.
One of the more interesting aspects is how you control three characters at the same time. You have the main character which you control, with the others following you in formation. You can change your formation style and the leader on the fly, giving a lot of flexibility to moving them around the screen. All three characters shoot at the same time, and some combinations have added effects.
You also get regenerating magic meters for all three characters, which provides extra firepower and defensive shields. I find it more useful in short bursts, to grab point items too dangerous to grab otherwise.
Scoring well is primarily affected by how many point items you grab. These change color and increase in value as you collect more.
Level and enemy designs are pretty boring, which brings the game down as a whole. I wish it had more action and less breaks; it's very obvious the game was based around cutscenes, even when you skip them. Larger enemies are made up of simple geometric shapes, and while I know this is true to the anime it's based on, it makes the game rather uninteresting to look at. Difficulty is on the easier side. Experienced shmup fans may need to up the difficulty settings for a better fight.
If you're a fan of the anime and want a game that's easy to understand and play, this may be up your alley. Shmup fans, however, may want to look elsewhere to get their fix.

Goosebumps Horrorland is a very fun game even for adults. There are a bunch of different worlds you can unlock and you actually get to walk around and interact with the people. There are several different mini games within this game and a lot of them are challenging. You earn tokens and scare meters to unlock different mini games throughout each world. You get to collect and buy monster cards throughout the game. This is not like any other "mini game" game that I have played before. The graphics are awesome and you really feel like you are in the horrorland world. This is actually a game with a storyline.
I recommend this game to anyone who like simple but fun games. I am an adult and I love this game.

Crysis 3 - Xbox 360 Reviews

So here's an honest review from a 30 something gamer who's played three out of the 4 Crysis games (1, 2, and 3, sans Warhead) on the Xbox 360. Going into this review, I will profess that I am not really "in love" with the series, and neither do I dislike it. The story in Crysis overall, is pretty convoluted, and Crysis 3 is more of the same. The gameplay and graphics, however, have always drawn me in. A few things that I am comparing from at least the 2nd game to this one are the following (with my 1-2 word opinion at the end of each segment):
Story:
More of the same. Enough to keep you entertained through the 5-7 hour campaign. Psycho being at your side most of the time is actually entertaining. He has his moments. neutral good
Graphics:
This is one of those holy-cow-how-did-they-pull-this-off games. The difference between Crysis 2 and 3 is stunning. 2 was already quite the looker, but 3 takes it out of the park entirely. I am amazed that Crytek were able to pull out these kinds of graphics from a 7 year old machine. At the very least you would think that the frame rate would suffer, but surprisingly, it stays consistent throughout (seems to be 30fps). The look and feel of any of the levels after the first completely envelop you in the environment you're playing in. The grass swaying, the subtle use of lens-flare (which you can also turn off in the options!), and the general look of the enemies. I was extremely pleased with the eye-candy, to be sure. very positive
Gameplay:
Much better than 2. The controls feel "tighter" and more fluid. Guns have that certain spunk and the kills are very satisfying. The Ceph weapons are aptly alien and look and sound really good. The grenades are so-so, in that the sound effect for the explosions feel muted, and personally, I think the timer on the grenade is a little bit too long. Cook your grenades before throwing them for the best results.
The bow though. The bow....it makes this game. You really do feel like a hunter in the world and the advertising for once, rings true. The added benefit of firing it and it not breaking your stealth camo is the icing on an already tasty cake. Just try using the bow and camo for a stealth run. It hits the spot. I will rip on the energy meter though; it runs out of juice very quickly if you are doing any two things at once (camo + running, armor +high jump, etc.). In single-player, you will be able to unlock and equip perks that will help you enhance your powers somewhat (quicker camo switch, faster movement when armor equipped, etc.). The wide variety of perks in the singleplayer is a welcome addition.
The levels are bigger than the ones in Crysis 2, although not quite the open sandbox that the original Crysis is. But still, that's more than enough freedom given to the player to approach a situation in a variety of ways. I definitely enjoyed the single-player in Crysis 3, more than 2. By the way, people are knocking the length of the game, as I have noticed of late. The length for me was perfect (a little over 6 hours of playtime on Veteran difficulty). Crysis 2's 14 hour playtime for me was stagnant and at times became very boring. 3 was pure fun and was packed with cinematic and sandbox moments. The perfect length and density for this gamer! And if I haven't already mentioned it before: play on Veteran difficulty. Normal was far too easy a setting. Veteran is the perfect coupling of story absorption and gameplay challenge. very positive
Multiplayer:
I'll say it now: it looks and plays much better than the beta. The graphics are not quite what the singleplayer has, but its pretty close. The netcode (at least for me), was tighter than the beta for sure. The maps are nice and well thought out and the gameplay is intense across the variety of modes that MP offers. I know that MP probably won't last longer than 68 months, but what's here is enjoyable and lively. Great fun, especially the Hunter mode, which I would say is one of the best ones up there along with standard DM/TDM. positive
Soundtrack: Comparable, if not better than the OST on Crysis 2. This one is more future-techno, but you will find yourself enraptured by some memorable music here and there. positive
Issues:
1.Sound quality drops in and out, on occasion, especially in the first open area that you get to where the huge towers are (chapter 2). After that it improves through to the end of the game.
2.Energy meter depletes way too fast when doing more than one Nanosuit action, but you can circumvent this problem by buying perks in the singleplayer that can help.
I wish:
I really hoped that the game would have some sort of coop/horde mode. Anything to extend the amazing sandbox experience and enjoy the game with a friend, whether local or online. I won't knock it against the game, but hopefully Crytek will take a suggestion from this humble review and think about something like this for the next installment. :D
All in all: I had/am having a lot of fun playing through both single-player and multiplayer. I'll be on this game for at least the first half of this year. Highly Recommended.
25FEB2013 Update: Adding in the 3D review of the game and an update for the multiplayer score:
3D Review: Okay so I tried the 3D function. It natively splits the screen into two stereoscopic views, so I had to adjust my TV's 3D function to compensate for that view. In essence, the game looked very nice. The enemies are not really 3D, instead, they look like they would in the standard view. NPCs however, do look slightly 3-D. The effect itself seems to apply to your HUD, your weapon (which looks amazing in 3D, btw), and your immediate surroundings. Grass and other plants especially look very well done, as they also move out of your way while you walk through them. Crytek seems to have payed special attention to the flora, as far as 3D effects go.
All in all, I was very impressed with the HUD, the 3D weapon effect, and the immersion you get from walking through grass and such. Overall, it's on par with Killzone 3's 3D. I'd give the 3D a rating of positive (7/10).
Multiplayer score update: So, after having put in about 20 hours into multiplayer (and previously giving that portion of the game just a "positive" score, I am now raising it to "very positive". The multiplayer has been a blast to play through for the past week.
The maps are solid and well crafted, keeping in mind the capabilities of the Nanosuit. The gameplay has been great through and through, in almost every match-made game I have played. Every game has had an "I can't believe I did that" moment. Let me list the few I remember:
Power-punching down from over 25 feet and taking out 3 snipers huddled together. Sliding down a flight of stairs and getting an awesomely satisfying crotch-shot on an enemy. Sticking a guy across the map on the "Dam" map with the explosive arrow, and watching him accidentally run into a team member, taking them both out. Throwing down C4 in a high traffic area and watching a stealthed enemy walk right into my trap. Jumping up into the VTOL ship and taking out both gunners unaware, with back melees, and then taking out a third on the ground by immediately manning the turret. Clicking on Nano-vision to see and then kill, a stealthed enemy who thought I had no idea where he was. Kicking a car onto an enemy who was mortaring my teammates. Etc.
The list of fun sandbox moments in multiplayer just goes on and on. Almost every game you play is memorable and you find a few hours have gone by, because you just keep thinking "just ONE more game and then I'll finish".
The amount of fun I am having with the multiplayer in this game easily comes close to Rainbow Vegas 2 and dare I say, Halo Reach and Halo 4.
Sure there are some occasions where the connection is not good (I'd say once for me out of every 20 matches), and there are some gametypes that are constantly empty. But if you're like me and you like Hunter, DM, TDM, Max DM, Max TDM, and Cell vs Rebel modes, there are more than enough games going on.
I did not expect multiplayer to be THIS fun very positive.
Now the positives. The graphics will be the first that everyone talks about. I thought Halo and Arkham City looked amazing. Nothing compares to Crysis 3-not even Crysis 2. This is as close to PC quality graphic as you are going to get. Be warned though, graphical fidelity takes a hit in multiplayer. Crytek outsourced the MP to Crytek UK (formerly Free Radical). Crytek UK is no slouch at MP and has a long history of quality MP games. So the gameplay is there, but the graphics do not compare to the campaign-Crysis 2 tops it in MP graphics. The controls and gameplay is tight and well-crafted. This is probably the most important quality in a game for me. I love Halo, and the idea of being a supersoldier is great. Halo is a well-balanced game that I love to play online with friends. However, no game makes you feel like a supersoldier like Crysis 3 does in the campaign and in multiplayer. I also love this sci-fi story. The critics have bashed it relentlessly for a lack of story and characterization, but I think the story is fine. It is epic in scope and gives you enough information or implies enough to where a reasonable person could figure it out. The only flaw may be that Crytek does not tell the story in the most effective manner. For example, we are left wondering the fate of certain characters such as Nomad, Alcatraz, Psycho, and Nathan Gould. Spoiler ahead---I have read somewhere that Nomad was killed off in a graphic novel. You learn of what happened to Alcatraz in this game. Psycho's fate is somewhat undetermined in this game, and I don't recall hearing anything about Gould in this game. I actually believe these are effective story telling techniques because they leave you wanting more or force you to use your imagination. People praised the original Star Wars but until The Empire Strikes Back came out, the fate of Darth Vader was up in the airI don't recall anyone complaining about that.
Overall, I think this was a great game. I would have given it 4.5 stars if I could, but I refused to give it "just" a 4. It was better than that. I think the conclusion was satisfying, and am happy with what becomes of Prophet. Unless Crytek can expand on the Crysis universe in an original, meaningful way, I hope this is the definitive end of this trilogy. It is worth it.
The addition of the bow and arrow is excellent. I love using the visor to find my arrows to replenish my stock. The variation of arrow tips also adds a nice element to the game. Upgrading the suit is also a cool feature and with multiple combo's the variety seems endless.
The music score is also very well done in my opinion and I've yet to tire of it.
The only thing I'm tired of is Prophets deep, harsh voice. I usually cut away from the scenes as quickly as possible just to avoid hearing his voice.

Played about 6-7 hours of multiplayer on Xbox 360 on release day. Its a very nice change of pace from the same old call of duty and halo. I play almost every shooter that comes out and this is one of my favorites over the last couple years. The graphics are amazing, the different perks and suit abilities are cool, and using the bow is so much fun. Don't get me wrong there are a couple of things i would tweak with the multiplayer but everything else makes up for it. I even started playing the campaign last night and before i knew it 2 hours had gone by. I hate playing shooter campaigns because usually its the same old shoot this guy and fire like crazy to kill everyone else but I was having so much fun sneaking up behind guys to get the silent kills the time just flew by. I mean you can go in guns blazing, sneak up behind guys, be cloaked and use your bow. It kind of reminded me of playing batman games because all the bad guys would be freaking out when someone would go down or they'd find a body. Dont let me forget to mention that in multiplayer you can pretty much go ANYWHERE on the map you want to. If you can see something to stand on you can get there its great! You never know where the enemy will be so it adds to the excitement of playing.Best Deals for Crysis 3 - Xbox 360
Do yourself a favor & pick this game up. Graphics are mindblowing on a good HDTV & sound to match. Most importantly the gameplay & controls are so tight & easy. After a couple hours of playing you'll be able to control everything with ease & there is a lot your character is capable of. Single player is very fun & sucks you in & is just long enough to invite you to replay it. Never too long or slow to become boring it's the perfect length. The multiplayer is excellent feels like HALO but with much more strategy, thinking & ways to approach battle. HALO, COD are just run in & shoot & see who dies first. More for kids & teens this actually produces a tense drama & tension like Dead Space in a FPS. Really tense at times & keeps you on the edge of your seat when you can't see enemies like the Predator. Just finished the game, and it was another epic ending. I want to start this review off with the negatives. First, I liked Crysis 2 and Crysis the most. I play on XBOX, and I was introduced to this series with Crysis 2. I preordered Crysis 3 through Amazon and received a free download of the original Crysis. I am about half-way through the first game but still believe Crysis 2 to be the best overall game. I just loved playing in the urban environment and loved how the HUD gave you your tactical options. I also thought the ending was the best of the two games I have completed. Second, Crysis 3 was way too short. On the veteran (hard) difficulty level, I beat it in about 8 hours, so the 6 hour time frame on the default difficulty is most likely accurate. Crysis 2 had 19 missions that will take 10-12 hours on default and 14+ on veteran. The original Crysis is also shaping up to be longer as well. I felt like from the beginning of Crysis 3, you were plunged right into the middle of the game and you knew where the game was headed. I enjoyed the suspense and creepiness of Crysis 2 and Crysis and waiting for the big reveal which was so satisfying.

This is one of the reasons I own a 3D TV...so I can game on it and enjoy what the developers have put together. Turn off the lights, flip on the 3D, put on the headphones and get totally immersed in a game. Crysis 3 will take you on that journey and if you have 3D, it will take you deeper. For me, the 3D is outstanding and the game will allow you change the stereoscopic strength. I play it on 50 and love how the visuals jump out of my screen.
