Discount ArmA2: Combined Operations

Armed Assault, the franchise with a pretty standard love/hate relationship factor. You'll love the free-form, gigantic sandbox that it has to offer, but you'll hate it at the same time for it's (unavoidable) bugs and complications.
Combined Operations is simply a package-deal with the latest "Operation Arrowhead" (Takistan, Zargabad, Desert environments) standalone expansion, as well as the original ARMA II (Chernarus) in the same box. The value is great, as you're basically buying the keys to a massive mil-sim amusement park, free to do whatever you please with not too many constraints. There isn't a good method in describing what kind of game this is if you haven't played it before. If you're used to Call of Duty and similar shooters, then you're in for a surprise if you play this game. It's a lot like the original Operation Flashpoint, except on a much grander scale, with more flexibility. I could spend a couple hours writing up an essay on what this game is, or I could just give a quick rundown on what one should expect.
PROS:
Flexibility in doing what you want. Create your own missions, scenarios, dynamic environments, etc.
Striking visuals with the proper hardware. (Proper, as in: Very nice rig, $2,000+) A lot of things going on at once, leads to amazing scenes.
Community and it's modding counterpart is amazing. First thing one should do after buying this game, is visit or the forums.
Extremely *massive* environments, with land-air-sea mobility. Jets, tanks, helicopters, armored humvees, the works.
CONS:
Can be ridiculously complicated for first-time users, even for PC game veterans. Patience is a virtue.
Quite a system hog, especially when the action is at it's finest.
Large, open-world, sandbox environment = plenty of bugs that one has to come to accept with such an undertaking.
Overall, this is a game for PC gamer veterans and enthusiasts. This is not something you just jump into all the while expecting a simulation to be handed to you on a silver platter. Time and patience has to be put in to be able to get a great experience. Is that really a problem, or is it more of a quality? When typical gamers spend a large chunk of their lives dying-and-respawning in Call of Duty, with no change in pace and with little rewards... I would say it's a quality with it's own rewards. This is the kind of game you purchase as an investment, one that you will keep coming back to when you feel like trying something different. Making a new scenario, having a tactical battle online with others, etc.

ARMA2 is a realistic military simulator, probably the most realistic on the market. It's not just infantry combat, although you can play it that way. ARMA2 also has cars, trucks, tanks, helicopters, planes, and more. It even models ballistics and bullet drop, if someone fires at you from 200 meters away you even hear the bullet hit the ground before you hear the rifle. It's a big sandbox, which is good and bad.The game ships with 2 islands, a large and a small. Both have forests, hills, roads, towns, fields, mountains, etc. I'd say you would spend a good 15 minutes driving from one side of the island to the other. If you can see it you can go there, there are NO invisible walls. The game locations are fictional, although they are based on real-life topography. ARMA2 is set in Eastern Europe, Operation Arrowhead is set in the Middle East. The possibilities on the huge playing areas are almost endless. You can also download user-created islands, some of which are impressive in both scope and detail.
A mission designer is included to make your own missions, along with sophisticated scripting capabilities. In addition, there are hundreds of user-created mods and missions, everything from a simple "destroy the enemy" mission to new weapons, vehicles, sounds, etc, to new game modes like "capture the island" and a GTA clone.
In a way there are almost too many possibilities between official and user-made content, and the quality varies. The official missions have some neat tricks, although they don't expose you to everything the game has to offer. Some things work well, others don't. You'll have to find a way to manage missions/mods and all your time gathering, installing, and playing all the different things. A launcher like "ARMA II Launcher" helps you manage what mods you want to use. There is plenty of help on the official Bohemia Interactive forums, although they are picky about posting in the appropriate forums.
Although the visuals and presentation are quite good, ARMA2 is quirky and not without bugs and oddities. Just mapping the controls is an adventure, what's the difference between "Prone" and "Go Prone?" You'll use practically every key on the keyboard, although remember you can map something like Control-G for landing gear or Control-E to eject. With a large playing area and so much going on, performance is also an issue, ARMA2 benefits from tweaking and downloading mods to do things like get rid of motion blur and tame the tall grass a bit.
There is plenty to do in this game for both single player and multiplayer. Setting up local, LAN, or Internet games is smooth and easy. It even remembers the last IP address you manually typed in (I'm looking at you OFP Dragon Rising!) Co-op missions, deathmatch, capture the flag, and more are all there, and with mission designers being able to do scripting plenty of different game modes are out there. There are "Warfare" or "capture the island" missions that add strategic and real-time-strategy elements as you build your base, build units and vehicles, and try to take over towns while searching for the enemy base. You can choose to be a soldier and take orders, command a squad, or be in high command mode and command all the units. The learning curve on Warfare modes is moderately high and documentation is scarce, but they are very unique and rewarding.
If you have the time and patience and like realistic military combat simulators, ARMA2 will delight and amaze you. If you're a run-and-gun sort of player with a short attention span, this probably isn't your game. It also helps to be somewhat computer knowledgeable and have good hardware. I have a 2.4 GHz dual core AMD, 4GB of RAM, Windows XP, and a GTX 250 video card. With tweaking it runs acceptably on my system, but I wouldn't want to play with much less. I'm saving my dollars for a solid state drive (SSD), from what I read ARMA2 does a lot of small file reads and greatly benefits from the almost 0 access time of SSDs.

I owned the original Flashpoint and the first ARMA game both decent but not without bugs. But this game, ARMA II has way too many bugs for me to bother with it. I gave up after a few hours of gameplay. It was simply too frustrating trying to complete a mission when the scripted events wouldn't occur or execute properly. For example, my squad leader was supposed to lead us in clearing out the village and then move on to the next objective. He instead stood in the middle of the street for 3 hours. I had to shoot him in the end. Ok if a bug happens once, but it happened mission after mission some new, frustrating, roadblock of a bug that killed the action. Maybe a patch will fix it, but I can't recommend this to any non-ARMA fan. You have to really want to play this game to put up with the shortcomings.If the game runs properly then it is a lot of fun. This is a realistic combat game and it's great to have games like this coming out in the age of Call of Duty. The graphics and shooting mechanics are well done in ARMA II and it's quite a rush to come up on the enemy when you have been marching quietly over the terrain scanning for signs of activity. The firefights are brutal and make the point that combat isn't easy.

If you are a soloist, a Rambo, a loner, this is probably not the game for you. The majority of people playing video games now days, are multiplayers. They play online for that extra challenge. This game involves not only multiplayer but teamwork on a high level. That high level is set by the players. Once you immerse into the land of Arma II, you will find yourself talking as if you have been in the military for years. This is a military simulation, not the average arcade game. You will not hear people talking about face rolling, and total pwnage and all that crap. You will only hear the calls for close air support, transport and long ranged artillery. If you are that role playing, military game guru, you will love the multiplayer associated with this game. However if you are into points and worrying about your kill to death ratio, find a server with Player Vs. Player. Some snipers pride themselves on taking out those loners. The Delta Force will work together on special operations missions, the pilots will be in their own group, and don't be surprised to see a Shooter and a Spotter acting as one Sniper. This is an incredible game, if you play it the way it was intended to be played.If you are considering picking up the game. Check out the guys at 7th Cav, they always keep a populated server, and they really use that teamwork you are looking for.

Buy Shawn Johnson Gymnastics - Nintendo Wii
I am 33 and I love this game. I have always loved gymnastics and this game has everything. I get exercise, I get to watch gymnastics and play a game all at the same time. I find it easier to play with the balance board and great execrcise. I was using muscles I don't normally use and it was alot of standing/getting on and off the balance board to calibrate. You can compete in championships, create your own routines, play against Shawn and you can learn facts about gymnastics.
I can see this game being great for kids. Because there was nothing out like this when I was a kid I play it now :) I can see how it would be good for kids to play each other and you can unlock new hairstyles and leotards as incentive. I love this game! My favorite Wii game so far.
The moves are authentic, the graphics are about as good as Wii can get, and after reading some interviews Shawn did, I love that she was part of the process of making this game. A lot of the time, you expect that these celebrities have nothing to do with their branded products, but she actually had a lot of input on how this game together which makes me like this game even more. My little sister is now insisting on gymnastics lessons. :) If there's anyone who can inspire young girls, it's Shawn Johnson. Thanks for putting out such a great representation of a sport that means so much to me.

OK, so I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant when I bought this game for my little sister; as an ex-gymnast, the quality of gymnastics video games out there is abysmal, but I adore Shawn Johnson and decided to give it a try. My 10 year old daughter got this game for Christmas. Her favorite parts about the game are the uneven bar routines, being able to make her own routines, and unlocking new leotards when earning enough points. The graphics are pretty close to real. She was in gymnastics for 4 years, but she quit about 3 years ago. It was easy for her to learn to play the game but not so easy that she got bored with it. She doesn't have any other gymnastics games for comparison. She has fun playing,though, and said she thinks if you like gymnastics, you will like this game.Monday, October 27, 2014

Since it seems like Amazon just puts all the reviews for all of the 3-packs together, I'll say that, in general, any of the 3-packs are worth the price since you're really only paying about $6.67 for each figure (as opposed to shelling out $7.99 for each separately).
Each character in the game has their own element, which are needed for unlocking restricted bonus areas (which usually contains additional coins and hats), but aren't required to complete the game. In total, there are eight different elements: magic, earth, life, undead, fire, air, water, and tech. If you only own ANY of the starter pack (which includes the game and the "Portal of Power"), then you already have three of the elements covered: Spyro (magic), Trigger Happy (tech), and Gill Grunt (water).
Now, at the time of this writing, only 3 packs are available (I can only assume more will come in the future). The three packs are:
Drobot (tech), Flameslinger (fire), and Stump Smash (life)
Eruptor (fire), Chop Chop (undead), and Bash (earth)
Prism Break (earth), Boomer (tech), and Voodood (magic)
So if you're looking to cover each one of the elements (or want to buy the bare minimum to keep your kid happy and not tear your wallet a new one), the best choice is to go with the Eruptor, Chop Chop, and Bash pack. Then you can purchase the last two elements (life and air) separately.

Skylanders is a great game for kids 6 13 and old school gamers (like me) in their 30's. Co-op with a parent and child works great. The game can be played with just the three starter characters, but it is best realized by having at least one character from each class (8 in all). The 360, Wii, and PS3 starter sets come with (1 magic, 1 water, 1 tech), so you will want to add at least (1 life(leaf), 1 fire, 1 air, 1 undead, and 1 earth (mountain)). This character set will get you a fire character, a life character and a 2nd tech character. While this set doesn't get you as close to all 8 classes as the Character pack 3 does, it offers 3 character's that are particularly fun to play, Flameslinger is a fire archer that blows up enemies at a distance like a beast. Drobot shoots gears, lasers from his eyes, can fly, and has a really cool voice. Stump Smash is a melee tank. These characters compliment each other well. To get the other 3 classes I would buy the crypt expansion to get undead Ghost Roaster, Pirate Seas to get Terrafin(earth), and Sonic Boom(air) for a boy or (air) Whirlwind for a girl (shoots rainbows).If you want to get all 8 classes the cheapest route possible then buy character pack 3 (Eruptor, Chop chop, Bash) then add a single Stealth Elf (life) and a single Sonic Boom or Whirlwind. The only caveat here is I personally didn't enjoy playing any of the characters from Character pack 3 as much as the others. (note: I'm a nut and have all 32 characters)

The game in and of itself is fun. I have characters from all elements except 2 (life and Air), which kind of sucks because I can't go into specific areas due to not having the other two elements. However, I will not pay these ridiculous and criminal prices. I completely agree, supply and demand can cause prices to rise, but these prices are just the result of some serious money hungry people who want to rip everyone else off. Normal price for 3 pack is $19.99. Normal price per individual Skylander is $7.99. Don' t get ripped off by these people and pay more then that.. great emotes and all around pretty cool looking. If close range fighting is required bring this guy in. His tunneling ability (like bugs bunny) give his advantages on ice and other tricky terrain. Cheap Gun Metal
I like this game a lot. It's got pretty nice graphics, just about par for the Xbox. It does get sluggish at times, though. The gameplay(shoot [almost] everything) is [really[ fun. (More fun than even MechWarrior, in my opinion.) I love a game that comes along every once in a while that forgets all the realism ... and goes back to the basics of why shooters are so fun.
But, don't get this game if you don't like 'em difficult. It does get frustrating at times, but the only thing I found was that it makes the game more rewarding knowing that you found out the STRATEGY of beating a mission. (Yes, strategy. It exists in this game.)
Yes, the voice acting can get a little annoying at times and the in game music is mediocre. That's the main drawback of Gunmetal. Still, it's definitely worth a buy if you're getting tired of "Counter-Hack" and want a back to basics shoot 'em up.
Story:
Okay, in Gun Metal, you are in the future and Earth is all crapped up because of us, but from many decades of space exploration, we have finally learned how to utilize warp-holes to our advantage. Many people have moved to new places, but now a new place called Helios is in the spotlight. however only a few get to go and because of this, people start to bicker and fight, but a few make it through the warp-hole and when they finally reached Helios, they closed the gate for what they thought was forever. however, the people on earth opened up the gate to Helios and started to bring people to conqueror the place. the life on Helios used to be good, but now war is destroying the place and your people are starting to lose. Project Gun Metal is finally put into action to liberate the planet of Helios. Failure is not an option. 4/5
Gamplay:
Gameplay for the Havoc (Project Gun Metal Prototype 1, ie YOU!) battle suit and in jet mode is conducted in 3rd person. Mainly, you are a mech (big 40' robot, run 1 km in a matter of seconds) with missles, machine guns, so called "shotgun" for mechs of your size, plasma disc launchers, grenades, and other stuff you can think of the blow up stuff. In "mech" mode, you can strafe, jump, and absorb a limited amount of attacks via a rechargeable energy sheild (Halo, anyone?). and also in Mech mode, you can switch to a Jet, which is an airplane fighter with 10x the speed of the mech and the same amount of explosives. however you do have different weapons. There is no multilplayer in Gun Metal, which explains the below-average price. The single player campaign is short, but you'll find yourself replaying mission because of new weapons and to test new skills. however, the gameplay never goes beyond tried and true, its still a good addition to your xbox game collection. 5/5
Graphics:
Xbox is really an amazing machine that beats the PS2, GCN, and PC (sometimes!) at its graphical power. i would have to say that if you have ever seen halo's graphics, its on par with it. the explosions are amazing and each detail has been paid attention to. 5/5
Sound:
Finally, an xbox game that supports custom soundtrack, yet it is not a racing game! Also, you can hear huge explosion and if you have surround sound with your entertainment system, the bass frequencies get really low so you can feel the explosions! 5/5
Replayability:
This is where Gun Metal falls. it only has a single player mode, and there is only 14 missions in the entire game. no mission takes more than 30 minutes (it shouldn't). some are really hard though, and may take a little longer than 30 minutes to complete a mission (the time counter does not take in account on how many times you retried the mission. some of the missions are really hard becasue you have to keep from destroying something of your ally's and the thing that you have to protect gets broken really easily. 3/5 if you are a casual gamer 2/5 if you are hardcore. if ur hardcore, you'll finish it in about 4 days max and then trade it for something else.
overall:
there is absolutly nothing wrong about this game. replayability may be a slight issue, but this game is excellent and well worth its price. (note, the end missions get really hard, so if you are on the 7th mission, don't say that you are half done!)

I poped this in my XBOX, and right from the top it was a lot of fun. But after awhile it got a bit old.
Here's what I thought of the first MAJOR Mech game for the XBOX:
1) Gameplay: It's fun! You can do all kinds of cool things, beggining with turning into a jet, TONS of upgrades, rockets, the ability to use incredible fire power, and the overall fun of the game. Unfortunantly, after the first cut scene, the game in NO way refers back to the story. It is fun, but it gets a bit dull on the *>12th mission (NO connection with the story) trying to now destroy a ship. You did it! Good job, now destroy that city. Good job! Now detroy that plane. Good job! Now, resist the battle tanks and protect the civilians. Good job! Mission complete, now this time...". The whole thing IS fun, but its just endless destruction. Then more destruction, then a bit more, now fly to this new base, a bit more action.
It is fun, but with NO story and minimal upgrades, it gets really dull, and has almost NO replay value. And to add to all this no multiplayer, this is probably just a rent, not a buy. No story, multiplayer, and no real organazation of levels or even ability to figure out what mission your on. If u like button mashing Mech killing, this is for u. But if your also looking for some sort of story, and maybe a good multiplayer game, this isn't for u.
As for the button mashing, flying Mech frenzy, its a BLAST! You can turn into a jet and fly all over the place freely, shoot rockets, machine guns, jump, etc... and its all a BLAST. Definantly a good rental, this will keep u busy for a FEW nights.
2) Graphics: Pretty good. Lots of shooting, explosions, dirt, destruction, etc...and it's brought to life pretty well. The problem I had with this was that u CANT really enjoy these graphics to their finest the entire time, as there is quite a bit of frame-rate slowdown (where when a lot is going on and the screen gets really slow and choppy). It happens so often it gets a bit annoying, and it took away largely from a great gaming experience. To finish this section, the graphics were very good, NOT GREAT, and the frame-rate slowdown was too big a deal to ignore, and it after awhile got so annoying, I shut the thing off for a few minutes. Its not 24-7, but its hard to go more than 15 minutes without seeing it...which is just not exceptable counsidering the XBOX's power.
3) Options: Where the game failed. No multiplayer, no different types of games or difficulty settings, NO way to have more than a few games. I mean, its like they just slapped this game together in less than a month. Theres a single player game with NO story, and thats it. No multiplayer, different game types, and or ways of playing the game.
What would have been cool was a way to win awards, train, a few more graphics, and actual story to go by. This game was not a very good one, because of the so few options and work seemed to be put into it.
Overall, this is a good rental on a night that your bored, but definantly NOT a buy unless u can find it for less than a twenty. It just doesn't go up there with the great games the XBOX has to offer, and the depth it claims to have just isn't there. A game that could have been so much more, GUNMETAL was a very good game...until u looked for more than endless button mashing and Mech power.
Overall, I'd give this a 2.5 stars* out of 5. Felt like a half game, not reccomended to anyone who wants more than a button masher.

The single player campaign is short, but you'll find yourself replaying mission because of new weapons and to test new skills. however, the gameplay never goes beyond tried and true, its still a good addition to your xbox game collection. 5/5
Graphics:
Xbox is really an amazing machine that beats the PS2, GCN, and PC (sometimes!) at its graphical power. i would have to say that if you have ever seen halo's graphics, its on par with it. the explosions are amazing and each detail has been paid attention to. 5/5
Sound:
Finally, an xbox game that supports custom soundtrack, yet it is not a racing game! Also, you can hear huge explosion and if you have surround sound with your entertainment system, the bass frequencies get really low so you can feel the explosions! 5/5
Replayability:
This is where Gun Metal falls. it only has a single player mode, and there is only 14 missions in the entire game. no mission takes more than 30 minutes (it shouldn't). some are really hard though, and may take a little longer than 30 minutes to complete a mission (the time counter does not take in account on how many times you retried the mission. some of the missions are really hard becasue you have to keep from destroying something of your ally's and the thing that you have to protect gets broken really easily. 3/5 if you are a casual gamer 2/5 if you are hardcore. if ur hardcore, you'll finish it in about 4 days max and then trade it for something else.
overall:
there is absolutly nothing wrong about this game. replayability may be a slight issue, but this game is excellent and well worth its price. (note, the end missions get really hard, so if you are on the 7th mission, don't say that you are half done!)

Well, I played this game when the XBOX majorily lacked Mech games. It was before games like MechAssualt, Steel Battalion, etc...I poped this in my XBOX, and right from the top it was a lot of fun. But after awhile it got a bit old.
Here's what I thought of the first MAJOR Mech game for the XBOX:
1) Gameplay: It's fun! You can do all kinds of cool things, beggining with turning into a jet, TONS of upgrades, rockets, the ability to use incredible fire power, and the overall fun of the game. Unfortunantly, after the first cut scene, the game in NO way refers back to the story. It is fun, but it gets a bit dull on the *>12th mission (NO connection with the story) trying to now destroy a ship. You did it! Good job, now destroy that city. Good job! Now detroy that plane. Good job! Now, resist the battle tanks and protect the civilians. Good job! Mission complete, now this time...". The whole thing IS fun, but its just endless destruction. Then more destruction, then a bit more, now fly to this new base, a bit more action.
It is fun, but with NO story and minimal upgrades, it gets really dull, and has almost NO replay value. And to add to all this no multiplayer, this is probably just a rent, not a buy. No story, multiplayer, and no real organazation of levels or even ability to figure out what mission your on. If u like button mashing Mech killing, this is for u. But if your also looking for some sort of story, and maybe a good multiplayer game, this isn't for u.
As for the button mashing, flying Mech frenzy, its a BLAST! You can turn into a jet and fly all over the place freely, shoot rockets, machine guns, jump, etc... and its all a BLAST. Definantly a good rental, this will keep u busy for a FEW nights.
2) Graphics: Pretty good. Lots of shooting, explosions, dirt, destruction, etc...and it's brought to life pretty well. The problem I had with this was that u CANT really enjoy these graphics to their finest the entire time, as there is quite a bit of frame-rate slowdown (where when a lot is going on and the screen gets really slow and choppy). It happens so often it gets a bit annoying, and it took away largely from a great gaming experience. To finish this section, the graphics were very good, NOT GREAT, and the frame-rate slowdown was too big a deal to ignore, and it after awhile got so annoying, I shut the thing off for a few minutes. Its not 24-7, but its hard to go more than 15 minutes without seeing it...which is just not exceptable counsidering the XBOX's power.
3) Options: Where the game failed. No multiplayer, no different types of games or difficulty settings, NO way to have more than a few games. I mean, its like they just slapped this game together in less than a month. Theres a single player game with NO story, and thats it. No multiplayer, different game types, and or ways of playing the game.
What would have been cool was a way to win awards, train, a few more graphics, and actual story to go by. This game was not a very good one, because of the so few options and work seemed to be put into it.
Overall, this is a good rental on a night that your bored, but definantly NOT a buy unless u can find it for less than a twenty. It just doesn't go up there with the great games the XBOX has to offer, and the depth it claims to have just isn't there. A game that could have been so much more, GUNMETAL was a very good game...until u looked for more than endless button mashing and Mech power.
Overall, I'd give this a 2.5 stars* out of 5. Felt like a half game, not reccomended to anyone who wants more than a button masher.

I purchased this game almost as an afterthought, and was very impressed with how much fun it is. While the production values aren't stellar, the actual "meat" of the game is very well done. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed this game more than Robotech: Battlecry. Handling your mech is certainly a less cumbersome task, and the graphics (while not mindblowing) are rather good. Every mission is filled with a sense of urgency, as you must zip from location to location rather quickly in order to meet all of the mission goals. My favorite aspect of the game is it's controls. When one thinks of a mech game, a series of complicated controls come to mind. Not here. I jumped right into the game, and was flying around launching airstrikes and transforming for ground assaults in no time at all. This is a great start for what I hope is a new series of wrestling games. Although it's very limited in match types and features, the inside the ring action is really fun.
Pros:
* Controls like the old WCW vs NWO Revenge games:
Weak grapple then the face buttons for moves or Strong grapple then the face buttons for moves.
* It's not a huge reversal fest like TNA Impact
* The wrestlers themselves look very cool and move really nice in the ring.
* Suicide dives out of the ring are awesome
* Submissions are easy to execute and understand
* 30ish fighters to use
Cons:
* Very bare bones: no title defense in exhibition
* No titles worn to the ring during quick ring entrances
* Super limited match types
* Only 4 Creation slots
People seem to be comparing this to TNA Impact but it's almost nothing like it. The in ring action is way more smooth and more "No Mercy" like. If you are a hard core wrestling game fan like me, you might like it. Just don't expect crazy amounts of polish and options.

I bought this game along with Smackdown vs. RAW 2011 as an early CHristmas gift to myself because it was something different. Never before has there been an exclusive lucha libre wrestling game. Here's hoping it won't be the last.Despite the very basic control system, this game is a blast. After playing through both the Tenicos and Rudos story lines and unlocking most of the characters. I decided to go back and complete some of the X-Box Achievements. I actually like how only most of the characters are unlocked after completing both story lines, because it gives the player a reason to go back and get some of the achievements. In fact, I JUST got the "Espectro the King" achievement Friday night. Look it up. :) The achievements give HofTR good replay value.
The CAW creation mode is very basic as far as the move sets go, but creating the look far surpasses my expectations given the limited motifs and things. You can edit everything, including every part of the mask including the eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and the top of the head. The outfit creation is also very basic, but the motifs are cool.
The roster is full of well-known wrestlers, if you watch AAA and CMLL wrestling like myself. There are a few stars in this game that made it in the States: Psychosis, Konnan, Silver King, El Mesias (Judas Mesias from TNA), and of course everyone's favorite the cult icon La Parka. I did a lot of research on some of the Mexican wrestlers on YouTube just so I could see them in action, and sometimes I do watch CMLL wrestling on TV.
All in all, Lucha Libre AAA: Heroes of the Ring is a good game. I recommend it if you are a hardcore wrestling fan. What some of the reviewers fail to understand about this game is that it is the firs of its type. I am not saying that AAA Lucha LIbre cannot be improved on. Indeed it should be and probably will be. For a first attempt, though, it's not bad. There could be such things as title defenses, a few different match types, and definitely a change in the moveset roster. But give this game a few days to get used to and you'll see its potential.

I have a limited amount of knowledge with most of these wrestlers in the game, I know a few from the states during WCW and ECW stints. Such as Konnan, La Parka, Psychosis, and my personal favorite, Vampiro.The controls are fairly simple and are usually compared to the old wcw/nwo games on N64. They can be a little cumbersome mind you, and are most definitely slow and not lucha like for the most part. The graphics are nice but not outstanding, and the sound is good but the announcers just act way too goofy and call things that aren't even happening. ex. I made my character stand still for five minutes to gain an achievement, and the whole time the announcers talked about what a great match that was happening, perhaps they were watching something else? =).
The story mode doesn't change much depending on your Rudo (Bad Guy) or Técnico (Good Guy) alliance. It's a quick story mode clocking in at about an hour and change for each run through. The length of the game is expanded upon by trying to gain achievements, or unlock more luchadores. Some you gain by playing the story mode, others by pulling through in different matches or the like.
Sadly there is no title mode, the tournament mode (king of kings) can only be played on normal which gets to be extremely difficult against the last competitor as the game reverses every move you throw at it, and the Hair vs Mask match is a cool idea, but is only playable online... In the end the matches lack diversity, no cages, minimal weapons, no hair vs mask (only online), no american tag matches, no royal rumbles...etc
I enjoy the cheesy Lucha flair, and the matches are fun but not as fast paced at one would think they should be for a Lucha game. A wrestling fan will probably like it, but a mainstream person who enjoys the polish of WWE games will likely turn up their noses at it, and they'd be right to, to a degree.
On a final note the create a lucha option is decent and I had some fun picking different masks and tattoos for each wrestler. However it is pretty limited, and could use a nice DLC to add more options, and wrestlers, and match types.
Game-play: C(a solid game, but lacks polish and any matches besides the norm which greatly reduces this grade)
Graphics: B (The wrestlers and audience look nice.)
Sound: C(The noises are decent, the announcers are bad and don't usually coincide with the match.)
Fun: B (It should hold a wrestling fan's interest, at least for a little while)
Difficulty: B (can be difficult on normal during the King of Kings tourney, frustrating at times)
Overall: C (Would have gotten a much higher grade had it brought more matches to the table. Decent otherwise and I have enjoyed my time with it thus far.)

What I love about this game is that it plays so much like the NWO/WCW games back on the N64. I loved how simple the controls were with those games and how it was focused more on the visceral action and the sometimes chaotic aspects of professional wrestling. Lucha Libre totally captures the spirit of those early games.The controls are extremely simple you use the trigger buttons for weak/strong grapples in conjunction with specific moves mapped to the A/B/X/Y buttons (that you can choose from a long list when you create your wrestler). You use the left bumper to dash and right bumper for counters. You use the left stick to move, right stick to change directions and the d-pad for taunts. The control scheme is VERY simple and easy to pick up and most importantly feels very logical. Again it's much like what made the old NWO/WCW games so much fun and easy to pick up and play with friends for hours on end.
The game has several modes. I personally just flew through both story modes (one you play as the hero, the other as the heel) and they were fun, albeit not particularly different besides just who you fight. The storylines are not that deep and that's why I docked one star. However, the fighting engine is well designed, based on a tried and true proven forumla. You will especially love this game if you're familiar with the world of Lucha Libre.
The create-a-wrestler function is decent. You can pick from a nice list of different motifs and masks. The moves list is also very comprehensive, though I wish they had a few more options in certain instances. However, given the fast pace of this game (very similar to that of NWO/WCW), it's not that big of a deal to me. Some of the moves are hilarious to watch, especially when your wrestler is doing things like running full speed and flying out of a ring onto your unsuspecting opponent.
This is definitely a good pick up and play game for wrestling lovers and non-hardcore fans alike.

Reviews of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition -Xbox 360
Let me start by saying that most of the time I am one of the suckers that usually buys limited editions of the games I really want (Halo 3, DJ Hero, Rockband Beatles, GOW2 with Lancer toy, etc.), however most of the time the limited editions are let downs and the trinkets just end up going to storage. Not this time, this has to be one of the best packages I have every purchased!
First the Game: This is a fun game with great single player and multi player modes. I always enjoy the multi player more then the single player and this game does not let me down. You will need a good internet connection to really enjoy the multi player, so make sure you have it otherwise you will get frustrated. Their are plenty of maps and games to enjoy for months to come and I am sure new maps will be available by the time you get sick of the current maps. The new weapons are really cool and adds to the wow factor.
Second the NVG toy: Yes this is a toy, but a very cool toy. Do I need NVG's, NO; however does anyone really need them besides the military. They are fun to play with, they feel really solid and not as cheap as the lancer that came with the GOW2 package. They work well in total darkness and look great on the display head that comes with the package.
You will not be disappointed with this package and not get buyers remorse! Enjoy!
As for the game, the campaign is short. I was able to beat it on veteran in under 6 hours BUT it was a great experience. Its an experience everyone should have. The cinematic gameplay moments are directed so well. The game replicates everything that Modern Warfare done so well. The story is decent and great acting. The graphics are a sight to behold that shines through the campaign and multiplayer.
I can't say enough about the multiplayer and how they spruced it up. Customizable kill streaks that unlock with experience can range from Harriers, Bombers, multiple different helos, and so on. The game is set up in a way where it gives you more customization not just from you weapons but through your perks. Everything is revamped in a better way.
What about the customizable avatars? They are there and done exactly like that of Street Fighter IV. It even lets you add icons and every match will show a slow mo of the last kill in a match. Its a lot of these little things added that just fleshed out an already well done multiplayer into something even more stellar.
Now on top of that, there is special ops that let you jump into objectives that can range from just killing a slew of enemies, race down a mountain, or disarm bombs. It is pretty challenging and addicting. Some of the objectives can be done solo or with another player. it is an exciting addition that rounds out a great game. I highly recommend this game. It might be short on the campaign side but the multiplayer adds so much from the standard modes of headquarters, team deathmatch, search and destroy and up to new modes that are placed in third person.
Short Campaign with a cool cinematic story and gameplay, fun addicting long multiplayer, and great single and two player special ops mode. A must buy for fans of the series, FPS games, and those who love good multiplayer gameplay.
However, it is in this aspect of the game where the flaw lies. Even though the game has a great storyline, it is WAY too short. Upon completeing the game, which depending on your skill and the difficulty level you choose you should finish this game in absolutely no longer than 8 hours, the game feels incomplete. Like most huge franchises these days, it is no secret that this game was made with the intention of there being a third installment.
So bearing that in mind, this game is still great. A+ on graphics, controls, multiplayer, sound, variety, and storyline. D minus on length.
As far as this particular Presrige Edition is concerned, yes, you get a bonus download of Call of Duty, you get an art book and a "steel-like" game case and a special "making of" DVD, and yes, last, but most certainly not least, you get the infamous night vision goggles. One word on the NVGs. They work and they work semi-decently. You can see perfectly on front of you almost anything within 10 feet. Outside of that, things start to get fuzzy and not so clear, with probably an extreme mazimum limit of about 40 feet. They are constructed more as a kids' toy, like a "my very first set of NVGs" Tonka toy. They are all plastic, and to be honest, not very well-made. The design for them is more suitible for that of a child, which is ironic, because this set is EXTREMELY delicate and if it were to fall into the hands of a child, it would be broken by day's (or night's, as the case may be) end. The switches contained on the set are: on/off, green/black and white, IR booster on/off (an invisible infared "flashlight" so that the goggles can see farther and make an existing area brighter), a rotary dial for focusing, and a rotary dial for adjusting the viewscreen so that both eyes can properly see one image. The headgear is also very poorly designed and anyone with a head larger than an adolecent will have serious truble making them fit, if at all.
My review for this set is thus: The game is wonderful and obviously a must buy. The download of CoD is a really nice added value. The steel case, the bonus DVD and art book are okay, but not worth spending more than $5 extra. Finally, the NVGs are honestly a disappointment and do not justify the purchase of this package. My recommendation is that you save youself some serious coin and just buy the game all by itself. You can download Call of Duty from Xbox Live, if you really want it, for a little more money. The rest of the items do NOT justify the $80 premium, even including the MW1 download.

The campaign game play is great by itself but the story falls apart toward the end. Still it is way better than average and does a good job of engaging the player throughout. Spec-Ops is another issue. I was really looking forward to this 2 player mode. I was hoping this would include a zombie mode or separate missions from the campaign but that is not the case. I hope DLC will add some variety and "out of the box" levels like the airplane hijacker scene at end of CoD 4. The multiplayer is awesome and an overall improvement (if possible) from previous CoD titles. But the inability to have party chat during certain match types is inexcusable, and one is left asking themselves, why? If I get party invites while playing I get booted from match and counts as a loss. I hope IW will patch this soon. I like the maps that shipped with the game except 1 or 2. Overall this is a great package well worth your time. Mad Catz Universal MC2 Racing Wheel Review
I have long searched and I mean LONG searched for a good racing wheel and this is it. I have personally tried out almost every wheel and pedals on this site and this one is far superior to all. It has sensitivity tuning so you can customize it to your own needs and has easy button remapping at the press of a button. Some people who own this product refuse to spend the 5 minutes needed to read the simple instructions and correctly tune it for each game. It now even comes with instructions specifically on how to set it for Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2, undoubtedly the greatest consol racing sim ever. Many things make this a great buy:
First of all, it has digital and analog modes, so it can be used on almost any game, Playstation or Playstation 2, despite what this site says.
It can be fully callibrated for sensitivity and dead-band.
It has suction cups for hard surfaces and retractable leg supports for comfortable lap placement.
It has all of the standard playstation buttons, plus a very nice shifter and two-way butterfly buttons mounted on the back of the wheel, which are great for Formula One shifting.
On the main body there is an LCD guage that measures accelorator throttle. (very cool)
The pedals have rubber pads that keep them in place during the most abusive acceleration, though it is little needed because of the vertical vector pedal collumns that change the center of gravity to keep it in place. There is a foot rest on the side for when you are not braking and the pedals have grip textures to keep your feet from unwantedly sliding off.
Everything is very durrable and can widstand lots of abuse unless you are bent on breaking shifter with unnecissarily hard shifting habbits, though trust me, I have only heard of one breaking and everyone else seems quite happy.

The wheel is a little to small, and does not turn 900 degrees like a real car (few game wheels do this anyway), though it makes turning a little easier. Sometimes when you set the shifter it also remaps the up or down d-pad buttons, but they are not used during raceing and can be easily set right when needed. Some people complain that the leg-wells are to close together, but it is more snug than tight and does not hinder lower leg movement, so there is no difference in use of the pedals. As I have said, this is the best wheel and pedals I have ever used other than that of my own car and it is worth your money. If you dont happen to like it then you obviously have not used some of the junk out there and you can return it anyway. Have fun!

However, the wheel itself harboured two very important features that I think should be an absolute must for any "professional" console driving wheel -a sequential stickshift for manual transmission cars, and a dual shock vibration feature to help with realistic immersion. I decided to pick the wheel up, yet when I returned home, I was mildly horrified.
Even after following the manual's instructions on setting up calibration for Gran Turismo 4 (specifically,) I found this wheel to produce a terrible lack of accuracy. Even with the tightest possible deadzone -maximum sensitivity and the widest turning radius -it was extremely hard to grow accustomed to how much effort needed to be put into each turn at given speeds and angles. A simple third-gear curve may, at first chance, require a smooth, lucky turn of the wheel; while the next shot at the same exact turn won't be so easy. I was especially turned off by the lack of realism the wheel provided for the Mazda RX-7; a car I can control very well in real life. Wheelwork was unpredictable and unacceptable.
However, fans of less-realistic driving games such as Need For Speed: Underground 2 and Initial D (to name a few) may enjoy better results with this wheel. While the performance in Gran Turismo 4 left MUCH to be desired, the wheel actually held its own in Initial D. Regardless, do keep in mind that games such as these employ a much less realistic range of steering detail -while cars in the Gran Turismo series offer 900 degrees of turning, cars in Initial D offer 180 degrees, if that.
The entire package is well-constructed for the most part, however. The shift knob feels great, but is a bit too springy for quick "flicks" you may be used to using in arcade racers that utilize sequential shifters. This doesn't detract from the quality of the product, per se; it just requires a smidge more care to be used when shifting. The wheel is made of a plastic and rubber base, and feels nice.
The steering wheel itself attempts to emulate power steering, but does an awful job. Turning the wheelbase to it's maximum in either direction and letting go produces a seesaw effect that, if using enough sensitivity in-game, sends your car jolting left to right. If you have door stoppers in your home (the 2 to 3-inch long springs that prevent door handles from denting your walls,) pull it all the way to one side and let go. You've now seen the MC2 "power steering" in action.
The pedal assembly is hit-and-miss. MadCatz has engineered the gas and brake pedals to feel as realistic as possible, but only so much can be done without having an actual hydraulic pump behind each one. The huge downfall of the pedal assembly is its mobility with heavier driving. If you're a two-footed driver, steer clear of this wheel ALTOGETHER. The small rubber stoppers on the bottom of the assembly are simply not enough to keep it in place on carpet or on tile. I found myself having to drag the pedals back to me after a mere lap and a half on just about every course that required somewhat constant braking. This literally ruins the fun in a race!!
I've decided not to review the dual shock vibration of this wheel, since it apparently did not work at all on the one I had bought.
There isn't much else to be said about this wheel. New and old fans alike of the Gran Turismo series who are looking for a true companion to the greatest automobile simulation game ever should avoid this thing like the plague. I can't recommend the Logitech Driving Force Pro enough in this situation. However, more casual fans of less-realistic racing games for any console are encouraged to give this a shot. It is by no means the most accurate solution on the market, but it isn't a complete failure for the price.

First of all, it has digital and analog modes, so it can be used on almost any game, Playstation or Playstation 2, despite what this site says.
It can be fully callibrated for sensitivity and dead-band.
It has suction cups for hard surfaces and retractable leg supports for comfortable lap placement.
It has all of the standard playstation buttons, plus a very nice shifter and two-way butterfly buttons mounted on the back of the wheel, which are great for Formula One shifting.
On the main body there is an LCD guage that measures accelorator throttle. (very cool)

i got this for my birthday, and i have to say it works great and seems to be the best wheel on the market. the size is just right, the leg stabilizers keep it firmly in place, and it actually has pretty good sensitivity. I have tested it thoroughly with my Xbox in Sega GT 2002, Rallisport challnge, and Midtown Madness 3. it works great. i noticed a few people were complaining about the deadzone, if you read the manual it's simple to lower the deadzone to almost zero. my only complaint is the pedals, the rubber feet don't do a very good job of keeping it in place, as they are closer to plastic than rubber. overall it's a great periheral and it adds a new element of fun to all racing games.Best Deals for Mad Catz Universal MC2 Racing Wheel

This is the first steering wheel for a video game that I've gotten, and I am extremely pleased. It greatly enhances Gran Turismo 4 for the playstation. Most of the other reviews citing drawbacks were more or less true, but with nothing to compare it to, I have had GREAT FUN with this wheel. I highly recommend it. It's tight enough to feel your actually steering the car, and the vibration lets you know when you're holding the car online.Worth the $$$.

This is one of the best racing wheel ever. my son used it and its perfect for any car game. You may think its bad but if you read the instructions and do everything like it says you will see its great. Super Street Fighter IV FightPad - Ken - Xbox 360 Review
So to start off, let me say that this is an awesome controller. Playing SSF4 on the pc with this is soo much better than using the wired xbox controller, but, my particular controller decided to stop registering almost any control input at all, and when it did register the action stuck so character would constantly move the left or right etc. I am going to check to see if there is a waranty or something for this but let me make it clear that there was no man-handling of this product at all, i just unplugged it from my computer one morning and the next time i plugged it in i get this issue. Like i said in the begining this is an awesome product when you dont get the defective garbage...

Cheap Xbox One Chat Headset
I love the design on this headset and how the mic connects too the controller and the controls are on the connector itself rather the cord, makes it much easier to control during gaming sections, also love the light up mute button when it's on mute. My only personal dislike of this headset is that it's a bit uncomfortable when it comes too the ear piece, found the 360 standard mic to be more comfortable and perhaps the sensitivity should be tuned down a bit, the mic is actually a bit too sensitive in some cases however definitely worth $25.

Wow, this is a major implement from the Xbox 360 standard headset. One of the biggest improvements is that the connection to the controller is much stronger, and feels like it would be hard to break. The mic it's self is very high quality for the price. It fits okay, but for the price, this is a very good product.
