This game was Awesome ! Anyone who gave this game a bad review was obviously NOT a fan of Duke Nukem in the first place and should just stick to thier same old CRAP OF DUTY games. End of Story! By the way, for sure one of the hardest games on insane difficulty, took me a week to beat, in comparison i beat Halo reach on Legendary in about 4 days. Only bad thing i can say about the game is Multiplayer, but this is a Campaign based game anyways.

I give this an average rating, but the collector's version is all a misogynist could ever want! All the little knick knacks and extra items make it a little special, like being the Duke himself. Granted, I have no idea where to display the items such as the deck of cards or the dice or the poker chips, but just having them in the junk drawer makes me feel a little more awesome and a full force of male bravado. The contents are a 5/5, the game, as stated, is about average.

I just beat the game so time for a review. This is based on the Balls of Steel Edition so keep that in mind. Let's start with the gameplay:

Its a first person shooter and you'll get your standard fare there. Nothing too fancy just straight up fire away. I like this actually. I'm getting to a point where too many gimmicks detract from the game. You'll be able to pick this up any time and enjoy it.

The content whoever is pretty graphic. The language is crude and the element aren't much better. This is mature rated and you will get mature content trust me.

The game has some hitches, you get stuck on things from time to time and at points you feel like you dont know what to do next. You will be able to figure these moments out without help and maybe a few re dos tho.

The extra features are really cool. You get many gameplay videos of the build over time, a timeline of production, and some behind the scenes photos.

The special edition stuff is also a bug plus. My Duke statue sits next to the TV. This is for sure one of the better priced CE's you will find.

People hate on this game for what it could have had and what it should have had for being so long in the production cycle. Try to instead focus on what it is and you'll have a great day of gaming.

A fun action game with goofy one liners! Many fun hours reliving the original. We play it again and again!

I guess I'm dating myself, but I'm a long-time Duke fan, and I think most of the FPS genre these days owes a lot to the original. I splurged on the Dee-Lux version of this and it was worth it. Heck, the minibust is worth the difference in price alone. If you've ever wanted to own a piece of gaming history, this is your chance.

The handler was good on shipping time and on product quality, when i got the wireless receiver i was instantly able to play many of my pc games on a console like setting (which for some games is much more comfortable). This product has opened my ability to enjoy gaming at its finest on a pc and has also saved me money from buying just a normal wired controller from microsoft. i highly recommend this product for anyone looking to get into pc gaming from console gaming!

Be sure to follow the directions to get it installed. I was frustrated it didn't work out of the box, but after reading through, it works great with my wireless xbox 360 controller. I haven't tested multiple controllers yet.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit on my 2011 Macbook Pro and it works! Sorry no simply plug & play, but more like going through Control Panel & installing the driver yourself. Connects up to 4 controllers and the wire length is perfect for playing wirelessly far away from the receiver. It works and saves you money!

Shanghai Pocket is a wonderful game, and has a lot of charm with its graphics and music. The music is repetitive, but it isn't annoying, and the animals that you free by completing each stage are a nice touch; interesting that they match the Chinese Zodiac! My only complaints are 1) The size of the tiles: You WILL need a Gameboy magnifier with a light, my eyesight is fine, but would strain others with less than good eyesight or have tired eyes, and 2) The lack of a save game means that you have to play all 12 stages to watch the endgame feature! Switching the game off, or selecting "quit" and switching off will erase your progress, and it's tiring to play each stage without a break; thank goodness for Nintendo AC adapters! These two complaints prevented a five star rating, but it is still a wonderful game and I highly recommend it!

Ilove the game Shanghai pocket. Mahjongg is my all time favorite game to play I have it downloaded on my personal computer and play it as often as I can. My only complaint is that you can not save your game so you can continue at another time(when the boss goes to lunch) and you can save the chinese horoscope symbols that you've already saved. You have to start all over again. Some different symbols would be nice to try instead of the two choices you have for each row. But the different layouts are great and being able to set different time limits on your game is good too. I really love it. The only problems I now have is carpal tunnel on my wrists and eye strain because I can't put the game down. Thanks alot . Some oriental music playing in the background would of suited this game much better than the one that plays in the background. It's got a cute little tune to it..

I've only had a PS3 for a few months and to be honest, I wasn't initially that interested in the Uncharted games. But a friend of mine told me that they were the first games I should be playing, saying they were like Tomb Raider with a Gears of War cover system and with voice acting that made it seem as if you were watching a movie. Well, he was right.

While Uncharted was a really fun game, Uncharted 2 surpasses it in every way and wowed me enough to inspire writing this review. While number one took me a couple hours to really get into, number two hooked me from the very beginning. Trying to climb up a train that's slowly working its way to sliding off a cliff in the opening sequence was intense and I enjoyed how the story jumped backward and let you play the events that led up to that point. The story and the characters in this game are also more interesting. Plenty of new and old faces, great dialogue, sarcastic wit, betrayals and everything you could want from a game about pillaging ancient treasure.

What really makes Uncharted 2 shine is the gameplay itself. The fighting feels much more fluid with a lot more variety. Having only six or so weapons in the first game got to be a little boring considering how many freaking guys you had to kill (yes I know it's a video game but how many pirates can possibly be on one island? Even if they found El Dorado, were they planning to split it 500 ways?) In this game, there are plenty more weapons to choose from and a larger variety of enemies to use them on. And the sheer amount of enemies at least makes more sense, being an army led by a mad general and not just some treasure hunting brigands.

The environments were also much more various, as well as the action sequences. The train sequence alone almost makes the game worth playing. Rather than jumping and climbing from one tropical environment to another, you're climbing mountains, jumping through caves, dodging helicopters on rooftops and... well there's also some tropical jungles but, aren't there always when you're hunting fabled treasure?

Graphically... easily the best looking game I've ever played. Sound like a bold statement? Well it's true. What really sold me were the water effects. While everything else looks great as it is, the water was the most outstanding and I've never seen its like in a game. In one of the levels in the city, there is a swimming pool on top of a roof that you can jump in (try it, Drake tries to play Marco Polo with Chloe) and I just sat for a good minute looking at different angles of that pool and marvelling at how amazing it looks. In a game as fast moving as this one, that's saying a lot.

Finally, what has to be said about the Uncharted games is the character of Nathan Drake himself. He is easily one of my top 5 favorite video game characters (maybe just a little bit behind John Marston.) The character's humor, irreverent dialogue, sarcasm and off sense of morals make him just plain likeable. I'd say that I would love to see him portrayed in a movie, but if Marky Mark is going to play him, I'm boycotting. Nathan Fillion should be Nathan Drake in my eyes. (If you don't agree just watch a compilation of Drake quotes and compare it to Nathan in Firefly/Serenity. He even looks like him.)

This game rocks. Looks great, plays great, story is great and so on and so forth. Play it!

(UPDATE: This review was put up right when the game came out in October of last year to notify current owners who had an interest in the new edition like myself. Item is still a Great Package for newcomers, except that now it comes in a red case for being part of the Greatest Hits Collection now. Red cases are ugly in my opinion. Game can be described as a hight quality cinematic action title at its best. It mixes cutscenes and gameplay very well at a great pace that will make you want to keep on playing. If you don't like long drawn out games, this is quite the opposite. You can probably finish it in 2-3 sittings, but since there are chapters and tweaks you can unlock after beating the game. It has a lot of replay value. There's also online multiplayer for the hardcore gamers, so its got the complete package. It's a game that I like to go back to from time to time.)

Uncharted 2 Game of the Year Edition is a Must Buy if you've never played the game before as it includes almost all downloadable content that later came after its release (Sidekick Skin Pack not included). If you have the original case, beware for you're just buying the same game with a code to get all the dlc. I sold my original copy to get this version and realized there really wasn't much of a difference besides having a new maybe better cover.

If you have the original game, no need to get this version for you really don't lose out. Here's an example. I sold my original copy for 25$. This version costs $49.99 plus tax which comes out to be like $54 bucks or something. That's a difference of $29.00. This edition comes with extra content that values up to $35. If you do the math I really only saved $6 by getting all this content. It'a deal, but not much. Also who knows if you can even get a value of $25 dollars for your original. Gamestop was only going to give me 12 bucks for it. Of course I didn't accept and gave them a big "you know what".

I actually don't mind this purchase at all for I never bought any of the add ons, but I can imagine others who might have or just some. You'll probably be a little peeved after the purchase. To make my point, New Buyers for sure get this version. This game is awesome and it's a Great Deal. Original game owners, just keep your game with the content you bought.

UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition.

The DLC content codes shipped with the game expired 9/5/2012. The only reason I purchased this particular version was to get the DLC.

This is one of my first PS3 purchases for the first PS3 bought for the kids.

Very disappointed in my VIP Group Corporation purchase. Really wish I had seen the customer review who already had this issue prior to ordering the game. Buyer beware!

Now I am hoping that the game which arrived on disk is playable and I don't have the problems I am now seeing and reading about on Amazon which others are having once loaded on the PS3.

***UPDATE BELOW*********2013-APRIL-22nd****************>>>

After receiving a comment from another buyer for this same title who was able to activate expired listed codes in his game I tried again last week and the expiration is clearly September 5th 2012 but entering the codes which came with the game NOW DO WORK. I hope this helps someone else who purchased this title if the codes did not originally work. The content appears now, is downloadable and useable.

GOTY Edition review

Apparently Sony thinks that GOTY edition just means including a code inside the case thats only good for a limited amount of time to redeem for the extra content. Problem is, they put no indication on the outside of the box saying its a limited time offer. Once you open the case you will find out the only way to get the extra content is to redeem a code and that theres an expiration date on the GOTY content, and if you buy it anytime after Oct 2012, then you never will be able to get the $35 worth of extra content that was advertised.

Just save your money and buy a used copy of the standard edition. Sony should be ashamed at the bait and switch tactics used

There is no DLC on the disc itself, all DLC is accessible through a code that comes with the game. All of the codes for Uncharted 2: Game of the Year Edition expired in 2010. In other words, this product NO LONGER EXISTS as advertised. It is simply the standard Uncharted 2 in a different case now. Please be forewarned.

This bag is definately worth the money. It is super padded and fits everything for the 360. Its officially liscensed. I bought this because I wanted to carry my 360 on the airplane with me. Inside you can fit the power brick, the cables, 4 controllers, and the console. My ony complaint is that if you have 4 controllers like I do, then you more than likely have to put other accessories such as headset, etc into another bag. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five is because you cant really fit any games into it. They should have made an extra zipper pouch on the front for games in my opinion. You can definately fit one game though right next to the console. And you shouldnt travel with a game in your 360, so if you are going to a friends house, you will need an extra bag or disc case for your games. But overall it looks great and does what it is supposed to do and that is protect my 400 console. I reccomend it to anyone traveling or for transporting it anywhere.

It is a good looking bag. It's also very confortable and strong where you can place your Xbox 360, its cables, 4 controls and about 6 games. Also have side pockets to store your xbox's cooler fans or other devices. If you would like to take your xbox 360 on a trip, this is the bag.

The bag works great for the 360 and its cords but the lack of extra space for a couple games ruins the whole less luggage idea.

For those of us who like to take there 360 to friends houses or other social gatherings? Finding a way to transport our lovely consoles around has always been a challenge. I mean really, would you want to put something you paid $300+ in a backpack that's seen better days?

With the Xbox 360 Messenger Bag, it solves all the transport problems you need. The design of the bag is quite simple. It has a Main pocket and a Middle pocket. The Main Pocket is where you store your Xbox 360 console. However, at the bottom of the main pocket, there is a padded divider which folds up allowing you to store your AV cables, Power pack and Power Cord. Once the power cords are stored the divider folds down and acts as a padded floor for your 360 to sit on.

Once your 360 is situated inside the main pocket, the extra padding in the pocket allows for extra protection for your console. Once your 360 is situated in the bag, now you need to put your controllers in there. That's where your middle pocket comes in. The middle pocket is capable of holding up to 4 360 controllers. Beyond that are two side pockets and one mesh-zipped pocket that are located in front of the middle pocket followed by 2 mesh pockets on each side of the bag which are great for storing extra cables you might have.

And now for the cons:

Clearly, this bag was designed for the majority of 360 gamers who have gone wireless or have the basic accessories that came with their 360. After packing all of my gear into the bag, it became very clear that there would be no more room for extra accessories that I might consider getting in the future (I even had trouble finding room for my Xbox 360 Intercooler Black).

Beside room for extra accessories, there is absolutely NO room for you to store your game's. If you're one of those types who prefer to carry your games in their original Xbox 360 cases, then you might want to consider using either a plastic bag or use a CD case because you might have room for one or two games based on if you know where to put them and it was really easy for me since I only have two wireless controllers in the middle pocket and I only own two games.

So if your a basic gamer who just likes to hang out at a friends house and play a few of your favorite games with your buddies, then this is something you should have to help transport your console there.

From the same people that brought you Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive 3 and Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball comes Dead or Alive Ultimate, packaging the original Saturn version of Dead or Alive with a completely redesigned Dead or Alive 2.

What Makes DOA Ultimate Special??

For first the first time ever on any console-gamers can enjoy 3-D fighting online! Both games are Xbox Live-enabled, giving players the chance to test their fighting skills against a vast community of highly competitive gamers across the globe.

Why should I care about the 1st DOA???

In 1997, the original Dead or Alive was released on the SEGA Saturn, pushing its processing power to the limits. The original Dead or Alive has long been considered one of the greatest masterpieces in the series, but it was never released in the North American Territory. Now, the graphics of the SEGA Saturn version, make their first appearance on the Xbox-perfectly rendered.

But I've Already Played DOA 2.

Not this DOA 2. Redesigned on a brand new engine, the new DOA 2 boasts amazing new interactive environments that are made possible by the incredible power of the Xbox. Gorgeous new graphics, hard-hitting new fighting moves, and never-before-seen costumes were added to create the "ultimate" fighting game.

What else is there???

The new Dead or Alive Ultimate features never-before-seen episodes from the characters' pasts, revealing new details about each character. These new movies feature unbelievable graphics that will you breathless. These movies will finally answer questions such as the reasons for Ayane's birth and the meaning of the flower in Kasumi's ending. Dead or Alive Ultimate also features a bunch of brand-new costumes.

I would say if you are a fighting game fan, pick this one up. And if you are not one, this could be the game to change your mind. The online feature will now add hours and hours of gameplay. I hope to see you on XBOX LIVE!!!!

In Dead or Alive Ultimate, you get to play both Dead or Alive 1 and an improved version of Dead or Alive 2 plus online gameplay as well!

XBox fans who enjoy fighting are thrilled about this because while Dead or Alive 3 was on the XBox, until now there was no way to play the older games on this console. The Dead or Alive 1 gameplay is just like the original, bringing the classic feel and fun. On the other hand, Dead or Alive 2 is definitely updated. You get the same characters and locations, but the graphics have been revamped to take advantage of the XBox's engine.

I have to say this is GREAT because I'm a huge fan of Dead or Alive 3 and its amazing graphics. To be able to have that same level of graphic achievement with blowing leaves, footprints in the snow, and so on is just great. The costumes and characters are all quite distinctive and really let you get a feel for the personality of each individual.

The main theme is done by Aerosmith, but each level has its own music that fits well with the scenario. You get to fight in Japanese gardens, on the Great Wall of China, in a peaceful forest, and in other quite detailed spots. Not only are the three dimensional areas visually spectacular, but you can knock a character off a given section of the map and continue the fight on lower levels. It really adds to the strategy and gameplay.

There are great new scenes to help you learn more about the Dead or Alive universe. It's like reading a prequel to your favorite story suddenly the characters and their actions take on new meanings.

The online gameplay lets you take your skills and techniques online, to test against players around the world. Instead of being 'stuck' with the gameplay in the game (which can easily last for weeks), you could play 24 hours a day and never run out of new opponents to face.

If I have any complaint about this game, it's that while the guys are in really cool costumes, the women all seem to be wearing costumes that clearly show off their underwear and big breasts. Some people DO play these games who aren't obsessed with women's underwear and inflatable chests.

That being said, it is at least great that female fighters are treated with respect, and it's considered normal to have just as many female characters in a fighting game as males. It wasn't that long ago that a fighting game would be males only, with women stuck on the sidelines waving little flags.

A great fighting game in general, and a must-have for DOA fans to fill in the storyline.

4.5/5

Best Deals for Dead or Alive Ultimate

Because this hard hittin' renowed 2-game classic blows them out of the water.

Pros:

-Excellent Graphics(Both games got a graphical tune-up, especially DOA2)

-Superb Voice acting

-Simple, but addictive button mashing gameplay

-It has the DOA 1 that didn't make it to America(Not the modified PS1 version)

-So much to do:

--Unlocking costumes(All wemon have over 20!(DOA2) Allright!!)

--Unlocking the CGI gallery

--Unlocking short videos

--Unlocking Hitomi(Who wasn't in DOA2)

-DOAXBV don't get left out in the rain, because the valuptiunous hunnies that got this game on the map get bakinis in this. Oh Yea!!)

-New enviornments, and a opening FMV have been added to DOA2

-Stage falls are for-jorkin' hillarious(Especially when they roll down stairs. Tumble-Tumble-Tumble)

-As always the sex appeal is very high, and lookin at the wemon sometimes makes me laugh(If you know what I mean)

-The replay value is very high

-Online play is really the jam in the doughnut. It's fun and it shows the world how good, or bad you are.

-Limited edition version incluedes trading cards(Nice)

-This is the ultimate package for DOA fans, that should not be missed by any fan of fighting

Cons:

-Not much has been improved in DOA1

-You must have data from DOA3 or DOAXBV to unlock Hitomi. (I feel bad for those that don't have that)

-Story mode for both games make no sense

-Why couldn't they put FMVs for endings for DOA2

-Online play shows how bad I am.(In other words, I suck against real pros at this game)

This game is, so far the best DOA game to his the market, and the goodness of extras and online play definitly made me grab this. For those who love fighting, you must get this game. If you're a DOA fan and don't have this, then get it. This title should definitly not be missed.

peace

Honest reviews on Dead or Alive Ultimate

Dead or Alive Ultimate is a compilation of Dead or Alive 1 and Dead or Alive 2, each on its own disk. Dead or Alive 1 is an exact replica of the same game that was released on the Sega Saturn so many years ago. This is a really nice treat because this might be the first time that players get the chance to play the game that started it all for this series. Since it is an exact replica the graphics remain the same, so players will be playing with more "boxy" polygonal character models. It is amazing that even though this game has changed so much it still feels the same.

The arenas in this mode are a riot. The rings are composed of two squares, the inside one is "safe zone", so if you fall down or get knocked down to the ground, the only damage you take is from the force it took you to get down there. If you go outside of this zone, the rest of the arena is what I like to call "lava." What I mean by this is if you get knocked down on this part of the game, your life will get deducted by how much force it took to get you down there plus once you hit the ground you will be knocked upwards, like a volcano blast, and you will receive more damage. Since there are no walls to get cornered, players will always have to be aware of where they are located so they don't take additional damage. If you want to play online with Dead or Alive 1, you will be able to. All you have to do is sign on and get your "fight on."

The main focus of this compilation was placed on Dead or Alive 2, and it will become apparent when you first boot up this game and see the intro CGI movie. This game looks better then Dead or Alive 3, which became one of the benchmarks of the graphical power of the Xbox when it was released. This game truly shows the power of the Xbox. The character models look just as good as the CGI movie, which looks awesome itself. The clothes on the characters move and have their own set of physics that move realistically as clothing might be expected to if you are fighting someone.

The most noticeable thing is the arenas that the characters fight in; they are a jaw-dropping awesome sight to behold. Every level there is some interactivity involved, from things going on in the background, breaking through walls and going to new parts of the level, or little subtle things. There is always something going on in the background, in one level you will be fighting in a chained off arena, and ever so often there will be cops chasing cars throughout the level, which gives it a very surreal feeling while you are playing. Just like in Dead or Alive 3, there are many different "levels" to particular arenas. One of my favorite is on the snowy mountain. While you are fighting through the level you can make the snow move around, and if you get the person close enough to the cliff you can knock them down to an icy lake below. From there you can even knock the players into icicles and make them shatter. This is truly a sight to behold.

The subtle things throughout each level might be the hundreds of leaves or cherry blossoms that are floating around the level, get stirred up if you walk through a pile of them. While this might not seem like much, you will have to remember that each of those leaves have a polygonal count and move throughout the level while you are performing a beat down on an enemy. All of this is going on without any slowdown, how remarkable is that! It is literally amazing all of the details that went into making this game look this great, and still remain highly playable without any hint of slowdown.

The roster for this game is the exact same as it was back on the Playstation 2. You will find all of your old favorites included with the exact same fighting moves. Some might be disappointed that several moves might be missing that were in Dead or Alive 3, but you will have to remember that this is a remake. One of the biggest draws for this game is the amount of costumes unlockable for each character. Many of the girls have over fifteen completely different costumes, and I am not talking about one costume is purple while the other exact same one is red. The costumes are 100% different from one another, such as School girl outfit, bathing suits, Santa Outfits, to many other things. It will take players a long time to collect them all, but it is rewarding once you have done it.

The audio portion of Dead or Alive 2 is great, but could have been better. It features Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, which makes the fights feel more "alive," especially in certain levels such as the one where the cops are chasing cars around the block. The Japanese voiceovers are what one might expect from this game, and fit the characters really well. The only disappointing thing is that this game doesn't support custom soundtracks. While it is nice to hear all of the music from the game, I would have liked to fight with the music of my choice, especially after playing the game for many hours.

Here is the part you are waiting most for, the online portion of this game that has been talked about for months on end. Before I get into specific details, I will say that it is one of the best features of the game! As you know if you have an Xbox Live account you can fight anyone across the world and it feels just like they are sitting next to you. There are times when you might have a few fights that are "laggy" but they are few and far between. Another thing of interest is when you unlock a new costume you will be able to use it while you are online, so if you see someone using your favorite character with a costume you have not seen before, you will know that it can be unlocked and used for your character as well.

The modes that are available online are: Spectator, Winner-Stays, Tournament, Team Battle, Survival, Loser-Stays, Kumite. In spectator mode, players will be able to view the battles currently raging on. In Winner-Stay players fight a one on one match, and the winner of the match will stay and take on the next challenger. In Tournament players will advance to each round until one person is declared a winner. Team Battle, players will be able to challenge other players in Tag-Team Battles. I have not exactly played a lot of fighting games. In fact, ever since they took the Mortal Kombat 2 machine out of the video rental place, I haven't really seen that much of the fighting game. But here goes:

I have to say this game was pretty good. There were good characters, great backgrounds, interesting moves and that colorful sheen that Team Ninja casts upon its games. The story was a bit iffy, in my opinion. Although the intro, played out to Aerosmith's "Dream On," was an excellent piece, it has absolutely nothing to do with the game! There are similarities between it and certain characters' motivations, but in the long run, it has more to do with the Dead or Alive 1 that is tacked in as a bonus feature.

The characters' motivations are clearly enough represented, even if their stories are not up front. And you will get some back-story on all the characters, but it turns in a soap operatic thingy. For example: the wrassler must face his daughter; the phrase, "haven't we met before?" is all over the place; there are some people revealed to be family members at various moments; the karate champ has lost his memory, and a ninja lady must face her evil twin.

Also, the designers put in some really neat-o moves. In doing this, they forgot that most human only have so many fingers and a pair of thumbs. The controls are workable, but workable at best. This can lead to the dreaded button mashing. On that note, I can say that this game remains true to the original. It is also fairly unforgiving.

By the way, "ultimate" means "the best, biggest, and last." This collection does not have that many extra features. Most "ultimate" games should be dripping with readily unlockable stuff. Although you can collect more outfits for the ninja babes to fight in, that's all she wrote.

However, the game is pretty good. Why? Well, for one thing, it's beautiful. The girls in skimpy outfits don't hurt. Neither does the fact that that guy from Ninja Gaiden is here. Familiarity breeds content.

Plus, the fighting, although a bit clumsy at first, will grow on you. Of course, a side effect to this might be that you cannot play any other game for a while, but for a while you won't want to.

And of course, the crowning achievement of this game is its unlockable soundtrack. I have a soft spot for those, and this on includes the previously mentioned "Dream On." So if you're a fan of battling ninjas, girls in bikinis, and classic rock, give this game a try.

1st time PS3 buyer but I own a PSP for a few years and enjoy it. Good package featuring Top loading console (door slides from right to left to open and left to right to close)1 wireless dual shock six axis controller, 1 move controller, 1 eye, 2 games, USB cable, analog A/V cable. Full wired and wireless options for internet, 2 USB ports, HDMI port (no cable included)and 250gb HDD. I also discovered I can use my Windows 7 computer as a media server thru PS3 and watch/listen to anything that's on my computer (see Youtube for instructions) and not have to use any internal drive space on the console. Playing Gran Turismo 5 with my kid and blown away by the graphics. Haven't tried MOVE games yet but I'm sure they're gonna be fun (we still use our Wii). Both systems are fun but PS3 wins IMO, just for graphics alone. Also... it plays Blu-Ray.

You wont be sorry! PS3 is the most amazing and innovated gaming console on the market! If you are a serious gamer or If you're shopping for your kids ps3 is the way to go! Its backwards compatible, wireless, the online gaming is free(xbox live is 60/year). Its also very easy to set parental controls. What I really love about ps3 is the network is free! When i had an xbox I had to pay 60$ for a membership to be able to watch netflix(which is 10$/month on its own) and connect to the internet. With ps3 all you have to pay for is netflix its self not an online membership. Its also a BLUERAY player! Although the ps4 came out recently I still think a ps3 is the way to go!

A while ago I rented this game and found it to be one of the worst games that I've ever played in my life.

To start things off I'll talk about the graphics. When I played the game I noticed that the screen, while in a dogfight, would start to blur somewhat or get really choppy. That can be accepted over time... Not in this case. As I kept playing it just got worse at times. While playing in the cockpit view it was hard to see what was going on around me as the control panel came up too high. While playing in the third-person perspective was where most of the graphics problems were.

The characters in the game were all annoying to listen to. I hated the voice of the main character most of all. Most (if not all) of the voice acting was pretty bad. The mission briefings and cut scenes were also dreaded because they showed (dare I say it?) the "Paper People." The characters here were all flat and had no emotion to them and only two were on the screen at once. When one of the two people was done talking they'd just scroll right on off and the next person would just scroll right on.

The planes and weapons were also quite dull. The aircraft had decent looks. That's the only good thing I can say about the entire game. That's not my gripe here though. The thing about the planes that really turned me off was the fact that they all felt the same. When you'd get into an Su-47 "Berkut" it felt the same as if it were the starting F-5 or a P-31. The missile lock-on and the missiles themselves were also quite irritating. With the lock-on it usually locked-on too slowly if it did at all. And when you'd fire a missile at a target in the air or on the ground it was just boring. The machine guns were also prety much useless all the time.

The sound was another thing that I had a problem with. The radio chatter mixed with the various sounds and music only came out to be a tool for developing a quick head ache. The music sounded more like techno out of the 80's. The sounds from the planes and everything else sounded like they came out of something that the coyote would use to try and trap the road-runner. And the radio chatter was useless and gave nothing to the game.

Though this game was released almost two years after Namco's Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, it is still the lesser game. Konami could have looked at AC04 and, seeing what made that such a great game in it's time, used some of that for this game. But they didn't. Since then Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War has come out and has dwarfed what AC04 was. And Konami's AirForce Delta Strike has really shown itself to be a failure.

So if you're looking for a good console flyer then check Namco's Ace Combat 5 or go and play Ace Combat 4. Just don't touch this one.

The missions in this game can be a little confusing but once you play them several times they become pretty entertaining, especially if you like flight simulator games. The briefings and time in between missions can be very dull which is why I gave it 4 stars. Besides that the game is a classic.

Best Deals for AirForce Delta Strike

I discovered this game rummaging through the shelves of a second rate rental place, and being a fan of the Ace Combat series, I decided to give it a try. AFDS absolutely has is faults, but I am still having a blast with it.

First the bad: the user interface and the overal graphics are pretty mediocre for the time that this title came out. The UI is a series of menus coupled with the text boxes with the characters, and having to get through all those text boxes just to get the options you want can be a little frustrating.

Now the good: This game has well over a 100 flyable airframes, from WWII fighters, to experimental X-planes. The flight modeling is very diverse, with acceleration, turn rate, roll rate, and speed all coming into play for each aircraft.

The challenge of some of the missions is impressive, as well. Some of the missions can come off as impossibly frustrating at first, but they all have a method in which you can complete them you just have to figure out the proper tactic.

Also, I found missle evasion took a bit of skill; it wasn't just hit the afterburners and start turning. You have to use your radar and time your manuever for a successful evasion.

Other opinions: Despite the criticism of this game's cookie-cutter characters, and the voice acting, I got a kick out of it. Having watched a few aviation related animés (Area 88 comes to mind), the expressions, voices, and cutscenes were rather amusing. Most of the cutscenes may only be stills, but there are dozens of them.

I also enjoyed the radio chatter of the missions. It is frequent, and often repetitive, but the over-lapping transmissions in a furious fight really can add to the feel of the game.

Lastly, the learning curve; it is steep. Whenever I have come back to playing this gaming after some time away from it, I tend to get my butt kicked a few times before I get the hang of it again. Probably not ideal for a "pick up and play" casual gamer.

Overall, I enjoyed this game enough to purchase it, and I dont' regret that decision. The missions are diverse, and there are tons of incentives to replaying the storyline, such as hidden animated cutscenes, hidden aircraft, hidden missions, and alternate endings.

Honest reviews on AirForce Delta Strike

First of all I give it 5 stars because the overall rating if far too low. It's at the very least a four star game. I've had the game for a while and just never got around to playing it. I have however played countless flight arcade and flight sim games such as Ace Combat, TC HAWX, Lethal Skies, Aero Elite, some of the Jane's games, Over G Fighters and some others.

This game is not perfect. It did start kinda slow but unlike some of these other reviewers I kept at it and hell, it was way worth it. The gameplay is very customizable and playable for anyone, there are three levels of control: novice, expert and ace with all three allowing customizable button mapping(novice for noobs, expert plays like the AC games and ace will give a more flight sim feel). The game isn't the best with impressions BUT keep playing and you will take on missions of greater variety than any other flight game it's almost ridiculous how much they change it up but it's all good because they're fun especially when you go in SPACE! There are over 130 aircraft in this game including experimental and cameo aircraft like Vic Viper from Gradius. The characters and plot was kind of iffy at first but if you push on you'll fall in love with some of them and lol at the stupid ones. The story is kind of out there and feels almost RPG like. You play different characters in a non linear affair following the guys and squads of your choosing. It takes place in 20X7 with futuristic themes and it works well because it allows for variety like dogfights in space, destroying deadly crap falling towards the planet, attacking orbital elevators, taking on mechs and other weird ships, flying inside of and destroying massive cannons.

You do a lot in this game and big missions feel epic like Luke destroying the Death Star, some require really fancy flying and when you win.. it's just the best feeling and that is one of the major pros with this game. The graphics are great for PS2 I actually favor them over the AC PS2 games, the FPS doesn't seem as smooth as AC but the details like bolts and panels on the individual craft look superior (Yes I directly compared them).

Now what it doesn't do so well.. like I first said the first impressions can be kind of weak. Some of the missions can get confusing or chaotic and the characters talk quite a bit during gameplay. None of these were deal breakers for me I would just every now and then tell my TV to STFU. One thing that annoyed me was when you wreck the plane you get an irritating scolding from two different people whom I hate for this reason, again STFU!! I guess it isn't too bad though if you're like me and believe failures should hold some kind of impact rather than "Oh, I don't care about performance because I can restart from any of the 992134573429857 checkpoints."

All in all I love this game and am on my third round going through it, it is NOT in my opinion completely superior to the AC games but considering when it came out and what it does holy crap is it awesome I would put it on the same level as AC. I hope sometime in the future this series will come back as it is quite the diamond in the rough so I conclude saying that if you have any interest in aircraft and jets you will like this game. Happy shopping.

I picked this game up just a few months ago, and I have to say i have mixed feelings. For me, the game had a fairly steep learning curve. The first few levles are basic fly around, kill anything that moves and are all in the open skies. the levles then turn into "Esscort this highly vulnerable, slow moving, defenceless target down an incredibly narow canyon in a super sonic jet, while taking heavy fire" This is probably due to my lack of practice with console air combat games, but i feel any game should be sucj that a novice should be able to pick it up with out too much work.

Also, i found the controls were flakey. The Novice setting is far too basic and limits one's ablity to develope skills, but the next step up is a huge jump from the previous setup, and were too sensitive.

The voice overs for the "cut scenes" were fairly well done, but the voices in the missions were far too confusing with having not only your comand center sending you info on enemy positions, important comunications from allies(e.g., "Enemy reinforcements ariving soon") but you have to contend with witless banter, dialoge that pertains to the story of the game, and the enemy's comunications.... Place all of this over the music and combat noises, and you cant really get anything out of it. Also, in dogfights, the cannons and machine guns are useless on any enemy not the size of a house.

the game also seems to have had a small budget based on how the cut scenes/dialouge was put togeather with a simple 2d, non animated sprite for the charicters. they have different facial expressions, but that's about it. i personaly enjoy this style, as gives the game an old school feel, but i can see where many would have a problem with it

all in all the game is fun for people who arent as familiar with other arcade flight combat games.

When you look at this game, you think it looks amazing, right? I mean it has all the best nickelodeon characters, they have supercool moves, and the story plot about the doomsday device sounds great, but to tell you the truth, this game isn't so hot. During movie scenes, the characters move on a loop, meaning they repeat the same motions after a few sentences, and it seems a bit weird without music, just dead silence. If you aren't playing with another person, then you have your work cut out for you. It took me (13 years old) and my cousin (11) 15 minutes to beat Mr.Crocker once (you beat him 3 times). A half hour is about how long it takes to make it through a level, and there are 12 total. I'm surprised that there was a review saying that someone beat it in 3 hours, but I'm NOT surprised that it was written by a kid (because they probably can't tell time). Constantly having to worry about your power supply is a nuisance. I can understand having a life bar, but if you are playing alone, then you are the only player who can pick up either life or health orbs (to fill the bar up again), then you might go insane. Another problem (for any impatient people like me) is that if you have to endure a cutscene once, but you die soon after that, then you can't skip it when it starts the second time. When I play a game, I get bored having to watch movies in it over and over. Seeing the movie once is fine, but if you have to watch it over and over because someone doesn't stop dying, then there's going to be a bit of frustration. Once more on the multiplayer problem, computer characters barely help you fight, and if they do, then they stand by the enemy, like their ready to give them a hug. We all know that Spongebob tends to be a bit too affectionate sometimes, but during a battle between a band of robots and a genius/moron/ghost/sponge combo, you might be better off pushing him off the side of the cliff. One good thing about the game is that you collect coins which can be used to upgrade abilities, so if you highly value Timmy Turner's magic star shooter, you can upgrade that weapon/ability. The problem with this upgrading option is that (I know it seems like I have a lot of problems with this game, but I'm really just telling the truth here)many options require a heck of a lot of coins, typically up to 600 as the highest, so you often need to replay levels for more coins, because with about 3 new abilities throughout the game for each character, your going to need some MAJOR money. Many puzzles in this game aren't so challenging which gives this game a kiddy appeal, but when fighting, especially with the major bosses of each world (Vlad isn't so bad, but Plankton takes a lot more time and strategy), you could have a tough time. If you or the person you are buying for (probably around 10 and under) enjoys playing the game more than winning, then this is a pretty good choice.

My kids are 11 & 8, and I love that they can play this game where they cooperate, instead of compete. They play it for hours, without any arguing! The problem is that almost everytime they play, they can't complete it, because it freezes and they have to reset it. I don't see any scratches on the disc, so we're all baffled by this problem.

I bought this game for my 5 year old son. He had seen a preview for it on nickeloden. He wanted this game so much because it has all of his favorite cartoons in it. The controls are difficult to use, and the tasks are a little complex for him. when we play usually me or my husband ends up playing it for him. All he really wants to do is beat up on the bad guys. His favorite part of the game is being the gorilla in danny phantom's world. It is a great game if more than one person is going to be playing. If you are looking for a game that is easier for smaller children I recommend star wars legos. my 5 year old can control the game with ease, and with little or no help from me.

Review of Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2

Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

First of all, I want to ask to those who are rating this game with bad scores, why in the heck did you guys buy this game in the first place? Whatever your reasons are, I bought it for one reason and one reason only; to enjoy viewing of amazing scenery, beautiful graphics, and best of all, DOA girls. I'm pretty sure many people who played this game, whether it be from renting or owning, got it on their hands for the same reason that I bought it for. I'm sure there are some exceptions such as people who had to play for reviewing, got it as a present, or got it in any way without spending any money, but that doesn't change the fact that most of us are perverts and are fascinated by any sex related topics. However, many people are saying that they got it to play a volleyball game, but I find that hard to believe. Just think about this; why do you think that Tecmo developed a game like this? Because they know that most men are perverts and would get this so called "game" even when it's actually more of a soft porn rather than an actual game.

Basically, my point is that it's really funny to see that many of you guys are saying that this game sucks when it's real purpose isn't even to be played but rather, drooled at. It's just too ironic that people rent or buy this game knowing what kind of "game" (or in my case, porn) this is, only to end up bashing about it. Ultimately, it would be better if everyone just admit that they bought it for different reasons than to play it and just enjoy this sexually welcomed and fantasized game. Lastly, I prefer paying $20 for a "game" (which can be played for hours )and porn put in one rather than an actual porn that only lasts a few hours. Besides, if your mother catches you playing this porn, you can pass it off as a game. Can you do that with an actual porn?

For those who were forced to play or got this game for free, you ratings are perfectly reasonable. But then, once again, it wouldn't hurt to keep it in the shelves and pull it out every once in a while when you are in need of sexual desires. :)

I liked origonal game on Xbox and this one has much better graphics. The play is lacking in the Jet-ski race it's really hard and so is the water slide game.

Basically, the game is earn money and buy smaller bikinis to put your gal in.

You can earn the money anyway you want which is a nice change of pace.

Overall despite some control issues in the jet ski game this game is highly recommended.

So if you are looking for that fan type game to admire the girls of DOA this is your ticket. The stunningly gorgeous women of DOA on a beautiful tropic island complete with all the toys you'd ever want for some is a fantasy come true.

Having your DOA Gal Jet-ski as well as play beach volleyball was a nice added touch. The other minigames including Hopping Game and Butt Battle are actually fun also.

Best Deals for Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2

The Good: Super sexy, good visuals, fun mini-games

The Bad: Very hard to make friends, terrible English voices, extremely simple

I don't mind sexually driven games, but I like them to be good and done right. Xtreme 2 is the sequel to Xtreme Beach Volleyball for the original Xbox. Everything is in tact, with a few additions. The consists of 6 mini-games, and 5 casino games, but that's not enough to save this simple-minded game.

The whole point of the game is to play mini-games with other DoA ladies and earn their trust and friendship and this is harder than it seems. The game plays similar to a Japanese dating sim game, and it can take forever to buy a lot of the items, and learn how to become friends with these lovely ladies. You have to figure out what each lady likes, loves, and hates and send them gifts accordingly. All you get is a visual guide for each lady with pictures of what they like, but this doesn't help much. After you spend a whole two weeks at New Zack Island you pretty much give up trying to gain trust and friendship since it's so hard to figure out without some in-depth guide. After a tries you end up just playing the mini-games and ogling the scantily clad women lying around, and even dancing.

The mini-games are the most fun of the game with pool hopping, flag running, beach volleyball, jet skiing, and water sliding. Pool hopping consists of pressing the buttons according to what is shown on the floaties. This game tends to be very hard since it requires precise timing. Flag running is pretty simple, but the best game is probably volleyball. It has tight mechanics and controls and can be a blast to play. Jet skiing is very mundane since it's the same track over and over again, however, the water effects are nice and doing tricks on the ski can be fun. Water sliding is the hardest game of them all since it's so hard to stay on the slide and after you fall off you don't get another try. After you earn enough money from playing mini-games you can purchase a camera and take sexy photos of the ladies, and view them later in your album.

The casino is the second major part of the game that lets you really earn some bucks. All the games are pretty self-explanatory, roulette tends to be the most intense, but you can lose all your money in one go if you're not careful so watch how you spend your money. The casino is all in 3D so it's nice to view, but I wish you could walk around in it and see all your DoA lady friends playing in there as well. When you earn enough money you can go buy stuff at the store to give your lady friends or yourself.

The game really has no purpose except to ogle your favorite DoA girls and trying to buy the skimpiest bikini for them. The graphics are great and everything jiggles in all the right places. The audio is pretty mundane with Japanese audio tracks to cover the horrible English voice actresses. The game isn't serious, but it could be so much more, and I just hope DoA Xtreme 3 becomes more deep and involved. I just wish there would have been more interaction, and all the load times don't help either. The game is just to hard to figure out with the whole dating sim thing going on so just sit back and enjoy the women and mini-games. The game will make you choke your chicken for sure, so DoA fan boys (girls?) should pick this game up and enjoy it's simplicity.

Honest reviews on Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2

DOAX2 appears on the outside to be a chauvanistic, over-sexed game where the sole purpose is to watch each of the characters endowments sway like sentient parasites struggling to esacape and find a new, less ditzy host body.

Yes, There are boobs. LOTS OF BOOBS. And I'll be honest. It's why I bought the game. But, surprisingly, Team Ninja has created something here, something that is unexpectedly... fun.

There are a whole host of games to play, including super waterslides of death, pool hopping, jet-ski racing, flag dashes, blackjack, roullette, slot machines, and of course, beach volleyball.

I was surprised by the quality of the gameplay; this game controls very smoothly, from the volleyball matches to jet-ski racing. The graphics are gorgeous, featuring realistic looking environments, with water that looks so real, it makes you want to go for a swim yourself.

The story is lacking, but, storylines in a glorified minigame collection never matter.

Over all, once you get past the hyper-sexed nature of the character designs, the game is surprisingly fun, and can keep you entertained for hours at a stretch.

Parents should remember to enforce the "M" rating though, as some of the swimsuits are so skimpy, they have to be bluured on cable telvision!

Halo 2 is an excellent game, there's no doubt in that. The core of the game still remains the same as the original, making it almost impossible to take a step backwards. The thing to think about here is how have the changes and improvements affected this game over its predecessor.

For campaign mode the story is not quite as captivating as the original. In addition you need to have it on Heroic for any type of challenge. And, as many other reviews have said, the game is simply much shorter than the previous (the cut scenes graphically were a little dissapointing too). However, the game is really entertaining. The maps are much more detailed, there's more variance in the layout between checkpoints. They did a pretty good job in making the layout not as repetitive. Plus the scenery is pretty interactive and makes you do a lot more cool stuff to accomplish a mission.

Weapons as well have changed a lot. They have increased the types of weapons, as well as improving ones that used to suck (the needler) and taking away some power from the pistol. The much talked about dual weilding is defiantly a nice advantage. It takes a little getting used to know how to use it best and the best combinations of weapons. Although people have complained about the fact you can't throw grenades while using it, it's more realistic (you do only have two hands). So they've made it a powerful tool, but they didn't want it to be unstoppable. Basically it seems like they've leveled the playing field more and although you may be disappointed because something isn't as dominate as before or than you thought it would be, ultimately it's for the better.

Same thing goes for vehicles: you have more to choose from, with different advantages, but they also made each a little more vulnerable and less unstoppable (the rocket launcher lock helps tremendously from the last game).

The multiplayer part of course is amazing. Looking past some minor faults (not all maps are good, the energy sword is too dominate here, etc.) this part really makes the game a cut above anything else.

The limited edition version here only really provides an extra DVD with the making of (which is interesting but not really necessary... you could easily have a friend tell you the stuff on there that's worth knowing). Besides that and the metal case, it's the same. It's really up to you weather $10-15 bucks difference is that big of a deal for you, cause it's not that big of a difference.

Bottom line: Halo 2 is a great game. It's definitely a lot of fun and very enjoyable. It's a little disappointing because the original Halo was such a huge difference from anything out there and I think everyone was expecting Halo 2 to do the same. Unfortunately, it didn't make any drastic leaps that leave you stunned, but maybe (besides living up to the hype) it didn't really need to be. What it did do was make a lot of tweaks, to try and improve on something that was already incredible. You have to praise Bungie for trying their best to please everyone. In the end the hype may have been too much, but don't let it deter you from enjoying this great game.

I loved the first Halo. I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Halo 2 but I have kind of felt in the back of my head that there is no way that Halo 2 can meet the hype. Well I got the game yesterday and I have been very happy with it.

Pros:

1. I love that you can hop on an enemy vehicle when the they go by, punch them and throw them off. On the covenant "Wraith" you even have to punch through the top to pull them out, or throw a grenade in. I found that to be excellent attention to detail. You can operate more vehicles and there are more options when you do.

2. The Plot is very good, and you really want to watch the video in between levels.

3. The graphics are surprisingly much better than the first Halo. The videos are amazing and the actual game graphics have great detail. (In the Multiplayer mode there is a new "Blood Gulch" level. If you compare the graphics there is no comparison.)

4. The plot runs side by side, with an enemy covenant who is punished for loosing the battle (in Halo), and Halo blowing up. On some levels you play as the enemy covenant. (You can even be him in multiplayer mode.

Cons:

1. The game is a little too easy. I would recommend not doing it on "easy" or "normal" if you want a real challenge. You have a new shield that seems a little stronger and recharges a little faster. It is cool, but having previous skill from the original Halo, it seems easier than the first one.

2. You can't be black in the multiplayer mode. Not a big deal, but I always liked have my profiled character be very dark.

That is it. The game is a lot of fun! And it has renewed my excitement level for Halo. I think it is important to understand that the game is Halo, with new levels and a few new details. If you loved Halo you will love Halo 2.

P.S. There are a lot of reviews on Halo 2 from before the game was even released, so I realize nobody is going to read this, but the game was so exciting I felt a need to give it 5 stars.

Best Deals for Halo 2 Limited Edition

I just have to preface by saying that I feel bad for all the people who ordered from amazon who are apparently getting screwed. However, thats not what these review spaces are for. On to my review of the game:

Graphics---9.5/10

Far and away the best graphics of any xbox First Person Shooter, its kinda dissapointing that the in-engine cutscenes look so rushed. The cutscenes are usually a little choppy with a little bit og pop-in. When I first read this in reviews I didnt want to believe it, but its true.

Audio---10/10

The original Halo had great voice acting, great sound effects, and the best music and musical timing of any game EVER at the time. Halo 2 has the best voice acting, the best sound effects, and the best music and musical timing EVER in a console game. Listening to this game is an experience.

Gameplay---10/10

There are really 3 main gameplay additions-

-duel wieldingability to hold two weapons at once

-swordsability to fight with swords

-hijackingability to steal a vehicle from an opponent while they are riding on it.

Each new feature adds another element to the game. However, the most important gameplay change is speed: The action is much faster in halo 2. You run faster, you jump higher, your weapons do more damage, and the change in how health and shields works means that you're never camping in a corner for extended periods of time. For me, this is awesome, because I come from PC games where the action is typically very fast, and I always complained about how slow you moved and how long it could take to kill someone in the original halo. The ghost, banshee, warthog, and tank are all slower than they were in the previous game, or maybe they just seem slower compared to your new, faster running ability. In any case, it evens the playing field between people on foot and in vehicles.

Single Player---9.5/10

The game itself on normal difficulty isnt particularly long or hard. The awesome music, great gameplay, and great storyline all bring it together to make a great experience. Like the original halo, the best features for the SP game are the diferent difficulty levels and the co-operative play. Even tho playing through the game on normal difficulty isnt a trying experience, YOU ARE going to want to go back and play through it again on hard or legendary difficulty levels. Also, playing through the game with a friend is awesome. However, there are some dissapointments. Firstly, the save system is inflexible.

You only have one slave slot that maintains your exact position in a level, and if you want to go back and play a different level or play some co-op, you lose that save slot and have to start the level you were on from the beginning. Also, forget about 2 people who are sharing the xbox going through the campaign at the same time for the same reason. Secondly, Bungie decided not to include system link or XBOX Live co-op. That really stinks. Its great fun to play co-op as it is, sharing the screen, buts its really cramped, and would be much more fun if both people could have their own screen. Also, being able to play with a friend at seperate houses, maybe across the country, would have been nice.

Multiplayer---10/10

Simply putamazing. More levels, many more features, plus Xbox Live and even some new features that arent available in other games. My favorite is the "party" system, which allows you to get together with some friends and travel between games as a group. Its unfortunate, but there usually is some lag on the bigger games. Lag seems to be the plague of XBL, and they just cant get rid of it. Oh well, theres always LAN parties, which are always lag-free.

Overall Score---9.8/10

Honest reviews on Halo 2 Limited Edition

OK OK I'm a 42 year old mom with a great 11 year old son.I admit

I'm a Halo junkie.

When Halo first came out, I played with my son and was hooked. How many times have we played Halo? About 15-20 times altogether.

How many times will we play Halo 2? 15-20 on heroic and legendary alone.

I read the review and he was dead on about alot of stuff, but I disagree with the cons regarding the suit. I think it makes the experience more realistic.

The creators at Bungie did a wonderful thing. Creating a universally appealing story that combines myth, a great spiritual quest to be part of and is bigger than yourself, soul renching music and a peek into the male swaggering military humor we women now have the rare priviledge to enjoy (HOO RAH)...uuummm...and really cool weapons (Scorpion tank is my fav).

The fact that they balance the story by giving the Covenant a face to provide insight and depth for the gamer, goes a long way to promote a richness and compassion any good classic provides....did I mention the weapons? OH...OK...I did...

Single moms everywhere...rent or buy this game...get into sweats on a Friday or Saturday night, serve munchies you have to eat with your hands and soda to help you burp out loud...and have the fun of being a guy with your son for the next 6-8 hours. This game is worth giving up that Friday or Saturday night date for

My god this game was crazy. I got it the Monday after it came out, and I haven't stopped playing it since. It's definitely an improvement on the first, and the first is STILL one of the best First Person Shooters out there. There are very few things I disliked about the game, and them so minor that I didn't even notice them until after I was done playing for the day. I'm gonna seperate this for everyone, just to make things easier to read...

Overall:

Sweetness. Pure sweetness. The new weapons are some of the coolest weapons I have ever seen. The plasma sword is the ultimate of melee weapons, and is so fun to use. Walk up to someone... Whack! And it's all over. Then the SMGs are just fun as anything. One gun spits out 60 bullets in less than 4 seconds. And dual weilded thats 120 bullets in your enemies face before they can even see whats shooting at them. The physics are more realistic than the first, and probably any game I've ever seen. The SMGs recoil keeps making you adjust for them, the Battle Rifle reacts exactly like a real rifle would, trust me, I've shot many of them. The one thing that probably impressed me most was that the Warthog respond EXACTLY like a real car would while it was spinning, or flipping, etc. Every time one wheel touched the gound, the spin would change accordingly. You could pull out of what would normally cause you to fall out by controlling the wheels right while flipping. That just impressed me a lot. Being able to drive the Wraith now, and having the new Covenant Spectre are just two bonuses. Having four people riding in a Spectre, one driving, on on gun, and two riding on the side, those two people with a rocket and a shotgun, while assaulting Blue base in the middle of a 16 player CTF game was probably the best time I've had in any multiplayer game. And the graphics are beyond anything I've ever seen. Destructible environments, boarding vehicles (REALLY fun if done right) are just awesome additions. Overall, this game is awesome.

Campaign:

The storyline is awesome. And the cliffhanger at the end made it a perfect set up for the next Halo. I'm not gonna reveal any more about that for everyone who hasn't played the game yet. Anyway, it's a 15 level campaign, even if its more like 13 levels, because the first two aren't really levels, more like tutorials... But from the start of the third level the action begins. The Covenant fleet finally arrives, and they're boarding your station. while playing, you can interact with your allies more than ever. You're able to swap weapons with them, giving them your rocket launcher, or plasma sword. But it's realisticyou can't give a grunt a plasma sword, or a rocket launcher. The enemy AI is some of the best I've seen, moving at the right times, taking cover, giving out orders to eachother. And the chatter between people during battles is a very nice addition. You'll hear them screaming out warnings and insulting the Elites right to their faces. And the levels aren't repetitive AT ALL. You'll encounter the same things once or twice, like a barge, but it's a different situation, with different people and different guns. And its not near enough to have a repetitive feel. And co-op is fun as anything. During Co-op there are more enemies, and more vehicles, all suited to match the extra player in the game. The campaign mode is one of, if not the, best I've ever seen.

Multiplayer:

Wow. This just blew me away when I saw it. The levels are extremely detailed, and you can set up traps for the other team. You can roll and explosive barrel in front of a door, and when an enemy walks through it just blow it up, damaging or killing him. Or you can push that same barrel off a ledge onto an enemies head as he walks by. The vehicles have weak spots that make them all fairly even to use. And the levels themselves... Wow (again). They are never exactly alike, one base to the next. But they are always very fair, or built to suit the map. On Zanzibar, one team attacks from the beaches, while the other defends a base. We had some really cool D-day simulations on that. And with four teams going its a real deathmatch. We had a 4v4v4v4 slayer match going, and it was like having small squads working together. Two teams would gang up against one, then procede to destroy eachother. And on FFA slayer, one person can get into the side seat of another's warthog, even if they're on seperate teams. And once in there he can help the person, or turn to the side and whack the heck out of the driver. And boarding your friend's vehicle, then proceding to run him over with it, is one of the funnest things I've ever done.

This game is DEFINITELY worth your time buying. It's the best FPS game EVER to come out, and it probably won't be topped for a while.
