Granted most people won't like this game because they don't like how it feels. There is a learning curve that most people have had and are having problems with. Once you figure out the games little quarks on how it works it's not bad at all. It's hard to push the cars on the easyest setting because it has auto brakes and more times than not it ends up with you losing control and end up in the dirt.

Once you get farther into the games and have the diffrent cars and upgrades it becomes fun. But it will take time to get there. Your not given the best car right off the bat you have to really work at it to get there.

But with any game try to rent it and play to see if this is something you really want to spend 60 bucks on.

EA's mediocre machine has churned out another snooze-fest with an abnormal amount of product placement.

You are a potential client of many corporations. Electronic Arts lets you know this from the very first time you pop in the ProStreet disc. Yes, there will be pandering. Of course there's stereotyping of the "import culture". It's got everything you expect in a modern NFS game from an annoying announcer that won't shut up to a music selection consisting of only current pop songs. It's obvious that the game was developed by a committee of suits who are using it simply as a mechanism of further sales.

I suppose there's an in-ad game in here as well. I'm not sure what EA was attempting to do in the game when it comes to car control and physics. It seems like the developers played a game with decent physics like Forza 2 and then emulated it in the worst possible way. There's a poor mash-up of arcade and simulation physics in here and the result is an unsatisfying "feel" when driving. FWD cars will oversteer when you increase the throttle after turning off all the assists (to do so requires a trip down a few menus). Light to moderate braking doesn't lighten the tail of the vehicle as expected. Unfortunately, your choices for control range between simple button mashing and an uncontrollable mess.

Some of the race modes are unfairly designed (such as Sector Shootout). This is because whoever sets the fastest time on a particular section of the track gets all the points for that section. The problem is that you will always start at the pack of the pack and thus the lead AI vehicle will consume most of the points on the first run around the track. There are times when you will compete against vehicles significantly better or worse than your own car which makes the game feel cheap all around.

There's a nice selection of cars but winning races doesn't earn you much money and thus you won't be able to afford them using in-game currency. Which brings up another issue: Micro-transactions in-game. When your car is damaged you can spend real money to repair it. If you want a new car or more modifications you can buy it using real money. I believe it's fairly obvious why EA made it hard to earn in-game money. They want you to reach into your pocket and pull out a little bit more green. Apparently, shelling out the money for a video game up front isn't enough as now we are expected to pay to enjoy the game as well.

I'd avoid this stinker and select something more enjoyable.

I first got my hands on this game around a year ago, and like everyone else, I was quick to get rid of it because it was no longer free roam, nor the cops where taken out of the picture. However, I have recently picked the game up again used at gamestop for $17.99 and for anyone debating if they want this title or not... Let me tell you what factors make this game alot of fun: 1. It's the social aspect that really makes this game shine, you are able to play split-screen, and the coolest part with this is when you are going high speeds on the long streched out highway and crash, you get a cinematic camera view of your car crashing. Hours of fun when you have a friend come by to hangout. 2nd. Like most other racing games you get the choice between manual and automatic. Well on Prostreet you get the option to use a manual with a clutch. My friend and I found this to be one of the key conponents to the "fun factor", with this game. And 3rd. Like many others in the series you get to customize your rides again...

So besides all that, of course you have your draw backs: no police, no free roam, and sometimes not the best framerate. But for the cost of this game now, I say it's definitely worth a try to check out; you know you have a fun racing game in your collection when you have a friend that absolutey hates racing games request that you don't return it!

In a previous review on nfs undercover, I took a negative shot at prostreet, but as it's listed, "I retract my previous statement". Due to the fact of the fun social factor this game presents. Hope I was able to help out

Honest reviews on Need for Speed: Prostreet - Xbox 360

I think it's fair to say ProStreet is almost as big a disappointment as Carbon. Most Wanted brought us a great environment, good (albeit cheesy at times) cop chases, but most importantly: a game that, when you played it, felt n smooth and creamy opposed to choppy and slapped together.

But lets quickly examine the pros:

1) Car detail the 360 (and surely the PS3 as well) pumps out some amazing detail. Tread on tires, creases on the panels, and even the inside dash can't go wrong.

2) Car upgrades and tuning Very precise (or so it seems). Customize each aspect as you like it and they even give you a "test" to estimate how you will function on the road. Great for shaving split seconds off your race time.

3) Works nicely with a racing wheel.

The cons:

1) Track Racing I think the most obvious downfall of track racing is the ease of and over use of using the same piece of track for about 300 different races. And prostreet does this perfectly EVEN WHEN AT DIFFERENT BATTLE MACHINES (supposedly different geographic locations). And all the other cons with track racing follow too: plain and similar backgrounds, lack of excitement, no traffic, and certainly, no cops. Lastly, Nascar has some great tracks boring, in my opinion, but many love it which is probably better suited to the track lovers.

2) Informational Messages I'm just plainly sick of EA's tree hugging "don't race" messages, this is a game not a defensive driving course save it! I also imagine their "don't race on the street" message has something to do with the track racing the game is based on, and their lame attempts to convey the gratification of local race track notoriety bah! Not so important, but feels good to vent about. :)

3) Car damage I'm unsure if this is a good thing, a bad thing, or just out of balance. Let's just say it's not horribly hard to rack up a repair cost twice the value of the income from the race especially since YOU pay when THEY hit YOU. They attempt to offset this with repair markers, but the whole system feels off decide for yourself.

4) Cash or microsoft points? So how do YOU want to spend your hard earned real life currency? If you have enough, you can simply buy your car and its upgrades! Microsoft points are interchangeable with game cash, the average car cost is about 200 MSP roughly $2.50 US. I imagine the question that EA answered with this feature was, "How can we make money off people renting the game?" Heck, lets take it one step further: Exactly how much do you think the upgrades will cost, in both game and real world currency, for that car you couldn't afford in the first place? I'm guessing the real genius of this plot unfolds at precisely this point when you realize you your in-game check book can't balance the costs and you start waving around your credit card for more MSP.

5) No Cops But why should there be any? It was only the BEST feature of Most Wanted and Carbon took a stab at butchering this aspect by implementing nothing but straight roads, where losing cops isn't realistic, likely, or even fun (imo, anyway). The cop chases, which for me was the defining aspect of replay value was probably replaced by the xbox live online portion.

So let me sum this game up quickly: Your driving your choice of many real world cars around a variety of tracks that pretty much all look the same, you cross the finish line a few times as #1, you dominate a "race day" which wins you a few bucks and a choice of 6 prizes many of which, part-wise, you probably already own (mostly lvl1-2 for a while). When you're done, you begin the same thing over at a new "battle machine," with strikingly similar backgrounds, but probably one major difference: off the road... is SAND not dirt... Or dirt, not a fence...

No short cuts, no speed breaker (not entirely horrible, mind you), very little variety, but great looking cars. Are you ready? o=

Ah yes, it's holiday time kids, and you know what that means. It's that time of year when EA lets all their new installments of flagship franchises out on the gaming world, and yes, there's another Need for Speed game. This time around, it's Need for Speed: Prostreet, which is a departure from the previous installments, Most Wanted and Carbon. Let's be frank here right off the bat, the best part of the past few NFS games were definitely the cop chases, which are nowhere to be found here. What we get instead is some solid, albeit unspectacular, street racing. That in itself isn't so bad, but considering the run-in's with the law were what helped make Most Wanted so good (and Carbon to a lesser degree), losing them is a huge disappointment. Instead, we get more of the same here with Prostreet: pretty decent looking graphics and cars, a very nice array of online options and solid XBox Live support, and of course, product placement and ads galore until your eyes bleed. There's simply not nearly enough here to seperate Need for Speed: Prostreet from other games of the type, and it's nowhere near as good as Most Wanted, but you're going to check it out regardless of you dig the Need for Speed series. Whether or not you want to lay down that much cash for it though is another question altogether.

This game was Awesome ! Anyone who gave this game a bad review was obviously NOT a fan of Duke Nukem in the first place and should just stick to thier same old CRAP OF DUTY games. End of Story! By the way, for sure one of the hardest games on insane difficulty, took me a week to beat, in comparison i beat Halo reach on Legendary in about 4 days. Only bad thing i can say about the game is Multiplayer, but this is a Campaign based game anyways.

I give this an average rating, but the collector's version is all a misogynist could ever want! All the little knick knacks and extra items make it a little special, like being the Duke himself. Granted, I have no idea where to display the items such as the deck of cards or the dice or the poker chips, but just having them in the junk drawer makes me feel a little more awesome and a full force of male bravado. The contents are a 5/5, the game, as stated, is about average.

I just beat the game so time for a review. This is based on the Balls of Steel Edition so keep that in mind. Let's start with the gameplay:

Its a first person shooter and you'll get your standard fare there. Nothing too fancy just straight up fire away. I like this actually. I'm getting to a point where too many gimmicks detract from the game. You'll be able to pick this up any time and enjoy it.

The content whoever is pretty graphic. The language is crude and the element aren't much better. This is mature rated and you will get mature content trust me.

The game has some hitches, you get stuck on things from time to time and at points you feel like you dont know what to do next. You will be able to figure these moments out without help and maybe a few re dos tho.

The extra features are really cool. You get many gameplay videos of the build over time, a timeline of production, and some behind the scenes photos.

The special edition stuff is also a bug plus. My Duke statue sits next to the TV. This is for sure one of the better priced CE's you will find.

People hate on this game for what it could have had and what it should have had for being so long in the production cycle. Try to instead focus on what it is and you'll have a great day of gaming.

I guess I'm dating myself, but I'm a long-time Duke fan, and I think most of the FPS genre these days owes a lot to the original. I splurged on the Dee-Lux version of this and it was worth it. Heck, the minibust is worth the difference in price alone. If you've ever wanted to own a piece of gaming history, this is your chance.

I hate to sound like a broken record reviewer, but like many others before me, I was REALLY skeptical when I discovered these here on Amazon. And like a smart buyer that I am I did my research before taking the plunge. I discovered that a majority of the reviews online were mostly all positive the build is good quality and for the most part, it improved accuracy across the board for a majority of the buyers. Reading that, I pulled the trigger... (YES, that was a pun)

So like many millions of gamers out there, my latest FPS addiction is Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) for the Xbox 360, and the FPS Freeks promise to deliver on higher/better control and accuracy when you put these on. You get TWO per package so I just used one for the right thumb stick only. As promised, the build was solid and snapped on to my controller nicely. **NOTE However, if you have a controller with a WORN thumb stick (yes, you know who you are and what it looks like) then you might have to buy a new controller to take full advantage of these, as THEY WILL slip on worn sticks.**

Now that the build promise is pretty solid, what about the control/precision promise....?

Let me explain my gaming with MW2 for a bit. I'm not MLG pro material, at all, mind you. But I LOVE to play MW2. I have my hot and cold days and I'm certainly not a dominating "beast" when I play. What I can tell you is that my strength lies in my SMG and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) combat. When it comes to Sniping I rate myself as OK. But when you put a Assault Rifle in my hands, I downright SUCK!! I'm not afraid to admit it too. The most powerful arrangement of guns MW2 has to offer, and I have no skills to play them. Somehow everyone else can get a "bead" on me and kill with a single burst or head shot (maybe they're using FPS Freeks!) with little effort. I, on the other hand, seem to ALWAYS overcompensate, even when I'm LDS (Looking Down Sights) I seem to always miss my target. I've even experimented with multiple sensitivities to no success...

Fast forward to my new experience with the FPS Freeks:

Assault Rifles ---> HOLY CRAP YES, with assault rifles I can honestly say I've gotten better with it on. I'm still in the process of finding my new "sweet spot" with the sensitivity but what I like the MOST about having them is the sheer precision that you get by having your sticks extended with these. Now when I gently/slowly move (or flick) the sticks, the targeting overcompensates WAY LESS than before, which usually overshoots the target. I ALWAYS fought with the sticks on being subtle, now its so much less effort. Pick your poison gun at this point!! Hmmm Scar-H or ACR?? It didn't matter, my Kill-Death ratio (with assault rifles) dramatically improved. Again, not pro status, just better. ALREADY worth it at this point.

SMG/CQB (Close Quarters Battle) ---> Already my bread-and-butter setup, I noticed I had to up the sensitivity by a couple notches...and this was a good thing! I'm pretty good at the snap-shoot hipfire kills that CQB brings, but WOW, I can whip 180's in a sec and get my knife or SMG kill on with so much more precision and accuracy it seems illegal! Loving my FPS Freeks even more!!

Sniping/Long-Ranger ---> The MOST noticeable improvement thus far. Key word noticeable -. I'm a tried and true "hard-scoper" (not a cheap quick-scoper) and is ALL ABOUT subtle precision. Holding my breath, leading my target, and taking that headshot has NEVER felt SO EASY!! I'm dead serious!! (pun again) Sure anyone can kill some dummy standing still, but killing a flagrunner from across the map multiple times in a match is sheer brilliance! Again, you may brag on your skills being godlike, but for us "common" gamers, this is an experience that cannot be described. Man oh man, the FPS Freeks have made things crazy!

CONCLUSION: So let it be said. I wanted to buy these to enjoy MW2 more than I'm already doing now. I honestly don't care about KD Ratios and Win-Loss ratios and I don't obsess over it like a lot of my friends do. NOW, I can say I am a more flexible MW2 player and having a boat load of fun doing it even more. FPS Freeks has passed with FLYING COLORS. If you're expecting to be "FPS God", NOTHING can guarantee that. Just like anything else, a tool is only as good as its handler. If YOU want to become better, by buying these, I believe you will. But if you need help getting there (or at least have some fun doing it), then I'm 100% confident that these FPS Freeks are the way to go!

Great job Kontrol Freeks!! Keep up the good work!!

Initially when I saw these, I was skeptical that they would stay on the controller. They snap on very tightly and haven't fallen off in the 2 months they've been on. I got them for my birthday in July and they haven't been off my controller since, other than to see how much they change the way I play. They are awesome. Within one week of having them, my accuracy on COD4 went up .5%. I know that doesn't sound like much, but considering that it has never improved in the 30 days playing time I have amassed, I think speaks for itself. On their site, Kontrol Freek recommends taking them off to see just how much they change the gaming experience. I took them off for a total of 45 seconds while playing COD4 and discovered just how much they change the way you play. I couldn't hit a thing.

I'm 35 and I consider these to be one of the best birthday presents I've ever received. I've changed my 360 profile to be a billboard for Kontrol Freek in my bio. Totally worth the money. 5 stars isn't enough to completely describe how I feel about these.

These have exceeded all expectations for such a small, inexpensive item. I bought these specifically to gain an advantage in COD MW2. My accuracy has increased dramatically; fewer wasted bullets and faster kills. I actually sped up the control speed, because these enable me to move slowly and accurately. I'm able to consistently nail headshots on running targets using assault rifles from a distance. Awesome! Definitely worth it... I just don't want to tell too many people!

Honest reviews on FPS Freek by KontrolFreek (Classic)

BEFORE:

While playing Call of Duty, Halo 2 and 3, and any other competitive first person shooter I would always struggle with the balance of the look sensitivity. For exmaple since Modern Warfare 1, I played with a look sensitivity of 4. This setting was great for me and I excelled at it. I could aim accurately but was not able to scan an entire room or quickly glance behind me an then snap back to the front again. To remedy this problem I did experiment with higher look sensitivity settings, like 6 or 7, I loved the ability to snap look around, but alas I lost my precision accuray, finding myself looking way to far past my target and then trying to correct it swinging past the target again, and then I was dead! So frustrating.

TESTING THEM OUT:

So now I tried the FPS thingees, and I have to say look sensitivity level 4 is way to slow, in fact I tried 6 and was pinpoint accurate and able to snap look around, again still under complete control of my character movements and aiming. So I was blown away by these, I had to put them to the test. I joined a Free For All game on Modern Warfare 2, and put my look sensitivity up to the "level 10 Insane" setting. Man, I was striking down foes with ease and spinning on a dime accurate. In fact I won the game! While 10 was sllightly a little too fast, I turned it down to 7 and found my sweet spot.

Testing My Skills without them after a week of using them:

Ok, so I take these FPS thingees off, to tet out my old skills.

Guess, what? I could still play on look sensitivity 7! I was like wow, these have trained me to be able to use this high look setting of 7. The only thing is that the nubby joysticks are actually ncomfortable on my fingers, yea that's right they feel "blocky" like a plastic lego. Another thing is that I actually went back to a level 4 after a week, because it was a hassle to try to aim long distance with pinpoint accuracy without the lower setting of 4 and without the FPS thingees.

One thing I liked about them not being on is that I can more easily hit the "back" button to view the score, which really isn't a big deal.

So I kept the FPS thingees off for a week, and I just had to try them again.

Guess what back to level 7 accuracy.

PS> You can still knife just fine with these on.

OVERALL:

Cheap.

Worth the money.

Improved my gameplay. i.e. accuracy, mobility, and scanning a room quickness.

Was not disappointed.

Still use em, still prefer em.

Highly recommend them!

I was skeptical about these at first. They take some getting used to, and I only use the one on the right analog stick. But once you get used to them you will wonder how you ever played without them. I play COD MW2. You must also remember to crank up your sensitivity a couple of notches when you use them.

I bought the game for only 5 dollars. The DLC costs more than the game itself! However, it is still cheaper than buying the complete version. The game runs fine after a few tweakings. PC graphic is better than xBox version.

The other reviewer complains the DLC bundle requires the original game to work. It should be self-explanatory since it is a DLC. I can't imagine any gamers will just buy the DLC without the game.

This DLC bundle adds a few cases (and items) to the original LA Noire game for the PC. The original game is so much fun, so detailed, that it has proven irresistible. I have played numerous cases over and over, so the fact that I could add a few more was a wonderful discovery. If you get the original, I'd recommend going ahead and adding this to it. Well worth the time and money.

I first picked up DW at DW5 (2005) and have since managed to plow through all the DW, DW:E, DW:O, SW, and even DW:G, and it has largely felt like a downhill ride with improving graphics and deteriorating gameplay.

Fortunately I think KOEI got that message loudly from fans after DW7, and Dynasty Warriors 8 is a serious attempt to change that perception (are you watching, Namco?). And it's a really good attempt. For the first time since DW5, the game feels solid, sometimes even challenging certainly a change from the cakewalk gods-among-us gameplay of the last couple iterations. This is done through better attention to character strengths, personal moves, a much better-told story mode, and improved costumes. It is not done at the expense of graphics, which are more lush than they've ever been. While this makes DW8 the prettiest DW game, it means there's still some serious lag at times on the Xbox 360.

One of the first things you'll notice is the maps are much larger than they've been. An average map now is the size of the largest from DW6. While many of the maps will look familiar, others have been completely reworked. The Stone Sentinels is now a much cooler maze, and Hefei Castle is now castle-sized, not a small sandcastle on a hill. For the veteran DW player this is a welcome change, but for the initiate to the series, the constant mission-running from one side of the map to the other may get tiresome (although to KOEI's credit, this is done far less than in DW6).

The combat engine is a little refined, though it remains largely in-tact from DW7. The best improvements are things like being able to jump on your horse while moving, hitting vessels from your horse almost always grabs what's inside, Switch Counter which allows you to precisely counterstrike, and the three different mousou attacks. These are very smooth and easily executed with a little skill, making the game just a little bit less about slamming X.

The upgrade from DW7's career mode is the new Ambition Mode, in which you fight a series of skirmishes to gain gold, glory, and fame. While it should be a cool mode, in reality it's a storyless (and often joyless) rote button-mashing exercise with no tactics or thinking required, making it one of the weaker parts of a strong game. UNTIL...

Online! Yay for finally getting DW online! In theory. Seriously, online was the part I was most excited for in the new game; the idea that you could play a battle with other players playing the other officers is long overdue. But I have rarely found anyone online, and never in the story mode. Which is sad. I hope DW8:E will pick up more online players for what should be the selling highlight of the game.

Though DW8 does not have the DW4-era tactics that some veteran players had hoped, there is plenty of significant improvement to warrant purchase. For the buyer new to the series: this isn't CoD, this is a good old-fashioned button-mashing arcade game and you'll need to get that to enjoy it. See you online!

This is a great addition to series, and for Dynasty Warriors fans, it's a must have. Since the graphics weren't radically different from 7 the one downside is I wish they would let some of the Music, Costumes, and Weapon Skins DLC from DW7 carry over.

Best Deals for Dynasty Warriors 8 - Xbox 360

I've played dynasty warriors for about a decade now going all the way back to the original, DW 3, DW 5 and now 8. I grew up playing the game, learning the core concepts, maps, etc and absolutely loved the older games. Now with Dynasty Warriors 8 I can relive a bit of my childhood and enjoy the game play.

The graphics are improved from 5 which is what I last played so I enjoy them more. The new characters and story line make it worth while. You can easily spend the greater part of 8-12 hours depending on how you play on 1 kingdom, and you only play a limited amount of the characters you could have. Load times are decent when disc only, installing to your hard drive speeds it up tremendously.

One thing I enjoy is the different characters you can play as the game progresses on. It's more accurate to the lore as characters die along the campaign and you have to move on to playing someone else.

One grievance I have is the map repetition. There are a few levels that are reused but you have different start/end points and have different functions during them. I would have preferred unique maps each time but I understand it's time consuming to produce a new map for every battle when you can change different areas around to meet your needs. Another is in game the scenery and graphics can bog down and become slow motion like where everything is super slow from everything happening around you. It does happen but it's on a few specific maps. Some maps are fine and you never have a problem. Others it happens every time. I think it may be attributed to too many particle effects, but I'm not sure.

Another feature I enjoy are the pre-battle areas where you can get hints at different things from characters to what happens in battle from the soldiers and other officers.

There are other aspects I enjoyed but I will cut it off here and let you enjoy it yourself. Overall I would give the game a 8.5/10. Mostly taking off points for map repetition and graphics optimization (slowing down during game play), otherwise this is a brilliant game that I think everyone would enjoy in hack and slash type gaming.

I loved the original Halo. It had everything I wanted in a game. Good graphics, excellent story, and lots of action.

Halo 2 is essentially its predecessor, except better. I know that sounds unlikely, but the few things that I didn't like about the original game such as bad Marine AI and monotonous maps are gone in this version.

For example, I was playing last night, and I was on the second level where you and a team of Marines are going through an African city killing everything. A Marine in front of me gets killed as soon as he rounds a corner. Instead of charging ahead, the rest of the squad hugs the wall. So, I swap my sniper rifle for Sarge's auto rifle (another kickass feature, you can swap guns with marines). Since the Marines are better shots, Sarge charges ahead and takes out the Covenant sniper. The marines and I then charge ahead and waste the covenant.

Here is a summary of cons and pros about the game.

PROS: Marines are much, much more intelligent.

You can swap guns with marines.

marines can drive vehicles on their own now.

the flood return

AH TOO MANY TO LIST CANT LIST THEM ALL

Cons: The only bad things I noticed so far were some minor graphial glitches, such as guns and vehicles sticking through walls. Also, every time it loads a charecter in a cutscene, a milisecond later the game seems to "draw" the person. It is kind of wierd looking, but in no way hurts the game.

If you are into a good sci-fi story or lots of action get this game. Also, Halo 1 fans wont be dissapointed, all changes were for the better.

I just finished the full walkthrough for Halo 2, as well as played a number of multiplayer games. I'm finally ready with the review of this awesome game!

First off, this is obviously the sequel to the hugely popular initial Halo game. You are Master Chief, a space marine who is sent out to battle the enemies. You are fighting the Covenant, who are your main foes, but you also run into the Flood, who are a space parasite that wants to eat all life. In addition, there are mechanical creatures on Halo who want to kill pretty much anything including the Flood. So each location and creature type has its own look, feel, attitudes and reactions.

The graphics are simply gorgeous, from the rippling water to the clouds in the sky and reflections off of surfaces. I love taking screenshots of this game. The music is also extremely well done, in that the quality is always very high. But it's a little bizarre to be going from new age lilting softness in one heated battle to high intensity rock music in another and so on. It doesn't necessary track to the location you're in, either. It's just whatever the designers felt like putting in.

The gameplay and plot is where this game really shines. Your characters that interact with you are simply BRILLIANT in how they each do what a real live creature would do. Grunts are my favorite these little Covenant front-liners are brave and talkative when they're in groups, but when you whittle them down they suddenly turn and flee, shrieking at the top of their lungs. Your teammates leap into vehicles with you, either driving or shooting depending on your preference. They'll come alongside you to give you support, and duck for cover when appropriate.

The quips the characters come out with mid-battle still make me laugh out loud. In one sequence you are the covenant Arbitor and are working your way through a room. You come across a pair of grunts and a jackal under attack, and take out the enemies. The grunt comes running to you in glee, shouting, "Arbitor! My savior!" Then he pauses and adds, "Jackal, say thank you to the Arbitor!" :)

The cut scenes are equally as brilliant and are truly movie quality in the interactions. The timing, dialogue, everything is great. The little touches are everywhere. In one sequence, the Sergeant is preparing his troops to get ejected in pods down to the surface of Halo. He walks past the Master Chief's pod and thumps twice on it, as if to say "All OK in there, ready to go?" Right on beat, you see Master Chief inside his pod, thumping once back in response. You really forget that these are just computer generated characters.

Multiplayer is the stellar addition to this release and there are reasons to be thrilled. You can play on a large variety of maps, in a number of styles, and there is even going to be downloadable content in the future.

That all being said, there are of course a few non-stellar aspects to this release. First, the ending SUCKS. The first one was bad enough with its "Oh I bet there is another Halo out there" so you don't even feel like you really saved the world. In this one, not only is it not a "you're done but it's not over" ending it's pretty much cut off mid-battle! That is INCREDIBLY frustrating for a gameplayer. Obviously they want you to buy Halo 3, but that's going to be a year or two away. Can't we have some satisfaction in the meantime?

Next, the game is really short, even on normal mode. We had a friend start the game up Sunday morning at about 12:30 and he was done with the entire game by around 8. You can have fun replaying it on the harder levels, but that's a rather quick game.

Finally, the multiplayer, while brilliant in concept, is lacking in implementation right now. There are two general ways to play either you set up a game yourself for friends ONLY, or you launch into the ether to play a quick match. If you get up your own game you can control all the settings, but you can only invites people on your friends list. That limits the chances of having a full game unless you are VERY proactive in seeking friends. The quick match game only lets you make a few choices, and then in essence you are auto-connected with other people who are also actively seeking those game types. You can't browse or look. You just say "I want to play X type of game" and then you wait literally for 5 minutes or more sometimes as the servers gather together other people who are also actively seeking that game type. Then the game auto launches without you even knowing who is on your team or if you want to play with them. It's very frustrating to people who are used to the more customizeable lobby situations.

Still, the online experience can always be tweaked going forward, and the base gameplay is amazingly good. I highly recommend the game to anyone who enjoys shooting / strategy games but you might want to rent it for a week first, to see if what it offers to you after that point is going to keep you playing.

Halo 2 has good gaphics, good game play, and a good story. This game is a great sequel to the first. It has great multiplayer split screen game play. You get to be spartan and the Elite alien, you get to play both sides of the Halo 2 story! The thing that I don't like about Halo 2 is that the Flood returns. I hated fighting the flood in the first Halo, and wasn't expecting to fight them again in Halo 2. The main theme of Halo 2 was that you were going to have to protect earth from the aliens, you did do that, but I was expecting to fight them on earth the intire game, but you don't, you fight on earth for 2 levels and then you don't come back untill the end of the game.

This game still is a great game despite the few flaws. When you beat the game, split screen is still a very fun part of the game if you have a friend to play with (its acually my favorite part of the game). This is a great game so go play it!

Honest reviews on Halo 2 - Xbox

That's right, I've actually finished the game and I enjoyed the game thoroughly. The graphics are really cool, and the game play is nice. Overall, everything is more or less better than before. That is everything, except for a few things like having to hold X longer to get into a vehicle, not always knowing where to go in a level (a personal difficulty,) and the lack of a true health bar.

Now, my main problem with the game, don't worry no spoiling here, is the end of the campaign mode. Put simply, it pre-empts Halo 3, and it better come out soon!. Yet, ignoring that the game is great fun, because, well it's a Halo game.

There are many things I can say about this game, but having also played the first game and read the firts two books like most of have. I have grown to understand how the story is connected with the books and the game.

Needless to say if you havent read the books I suggest you do so because you wont have a clue as to whats going on. Even if you pay attention to the details given in the game it will leave many unanswered questions for you.

Now onto the game. I loved the first game and this is no different. Well with the added new features such as duel wielding, faster shield recharge, new enemies, weapons, missions, locations and the included XBOX LIVE MUTLIPLAYER. Which everyone has heard about.

I couldnt take part in that however becuase of lack of xbox live but the single-player, coopertive campaigns, and two-four multiplayer it kept me busy for a long time. Which shows that you can take the single or multiplayer path or both for that matter.

Which proves how good this game is.

Grandia III - PlayStation 2

Grandia fans will be happy to see this title, but those new to the series may not get as into this game as others. While the heart of Grandia lies within the battle system, which is still incredible, the other elements have suffered a little over the years. With Grandia III it's no different. It is a very good game, but the RPG veteran will notice that there are a couple of key elements missing.

Yuki dreams of one day becoming a pilot like his hero Sky Captain Schmidt. He's finally made a plane that he's sure can carry him off Titalos Island. Upon trying to leave, he doesn't realize his mother has hopped aboard the plane, taking the plane over its weight limit. Eventually the plane goes down near a girl named Alfina who is the last of the "Communicators". A race that stay in contact with a Guardian Glyph and relay the information to the rest of the world. Alfina's brother, however, has different plans, and would rather take over the world. It's your job, of course, to stop him.

The story isn't really thrilling, but the characters will make up for that. Some of the dialogue is badly written, but for the most part, the characters begin to take on a personality and you fall in love with them. Especially with how they interact over scenes when they're at dinner.

Grandia veterans will recognize the battle system instantly. After nearly ten years, the battle system is still complex, fresh and very original. When you enter battle there will be a circle gauge in the corner. This is the IP gauge. Your characters and enemies move along this gauge. You'll select a command and watch them play out in real time. Each character and enemy will go into action. If you attack an enemy while they're in action you'll delay their attack. It is even possible to cancel it all together. The enemy can also do the same to you.

The battle system, as I said, is complex, and still holds up. There is still no battle system quite like it. Unfortunately, it's an easy battle system to take advantage of. And this isn't the first time Grandia has suffered from this. If you keep canceling enemies, you'll find that many battles you'll take absolutely no damage. Bosses, however, can be pretty challenging. Especially because they have multiple parts. Boss battles are particularly long and satisfying.

Another reason for the ease of Grandia is simply because you can always see the enemies HP and what attack they plan on using and who they plan to attack. In other words, the game begs for you to take advantage. It's all a matter of canceling the attacks. However, this makes so that Grandia's battle system really does focus on strategy. For as easy as it is to take advantage of the battle system, it's just as easy to lose control if you're unfamiliar with it.

Each character also has a set of special moves to use. And as they continue to use them they'll get more skills availible to them. There are also skill books and Mana Eggs for you to equip to give you modifiers and spells. Mana Eggs allow you to cast various spells while skill books will give you abilities, such as being able to defend against poison or do more damage to a certain type of enemy.

However, there are a few things that are glaring in Grandia III. It isn't just the storyline that erks me (especially when compared to Grandia II and the first one), but the lack of sidequests and the game is short. There are not enough secrets and mini-games, which ultimately lowers the replay value of this game. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from the quest. This also means the game is very linear. It also could've been longer.

That shouldn't suggest Grandia III is bad. It's not. But it makes it so that only hard-core RPGers and Grandia devotees will want to play it. If battling and having fun is your thing, by all means, play Grandia III. But if secrets and goodies is your thing, Grandia III probably isn't for you.

The visual look of Grandia III isn't bad. It's rather good. Each character is detailed and the enviroments are pretty. It's great that there is no slow down in this one, as it isn't a port. There are times, however, when the graphics look outdated. Still, it's a beautiful game. And it doesn't sound so bad either. The voice acting is pretty good, and the background music serves its purpose as well.

Overall, Grandia III is a pretty good game. As long as you're not expecting a lot you'll enjoy it. While there are a few glaring things, I have to say the game is fun. The battle system makes it so that one actually wants to battle as opposed to avoiding them. For the die-hard RPGer and Grandia fan, this is gold. If you're expecting a lot from a game, however, look elsewhere.

The Good

+Stylish Graphics

+Incredible battle system makes the game really fun

+While the story is nothing special, the characters really do help move it along nicely.

The Bad

-The story is too simple... especially for Grandia

-No side quests and very little secrets

-It's too short

A good game, but definitely for a selective crowd.

Hello Amazon shoppers, Amir0x from Hangar-G3 here.

When you think of Grandia, you automatically think of the battle system. The reason for this is simple: it's the one thing that sets the series apart. It's furious, fast, and strategic. And it leaves you wishing more RPGs did something like this. As long as this aspect of Grandia is in place, you're guaranteed a great experience.

And Grandia III does not disappoint. Additions, such as Aerial Combos, add to the fantastic system and provide all the frenetic action the franchise is known for. In this way, it is not only a return to form but it is superior to its predecessors.

Visually as well, the game seriously pushes PS2 far beyond what you'd expect. Spectacular spell effects, robust character models, vibrant towns... all of it is a testament to the talent of the development team. The incredible scenery and artistic direction compliment a rock solid engine.

On the minus side, the soundtrack is a bit of a downer. None of it is particularly inspired, which is surprising considering how great Noriyuki Idaware's previous works were. None of the tracks really stay in your memory for long, which is generally one of the first signs that it's not leaving any lasting impact. Finally, the storyline is really not up to the standards of the rest of the games. The relationships between Yuki and the rest of the cast (with the exception of his mother) all fall into the cliche, one-dimensional range. The motivations of who you ultimately end up fighting all fall flat.

But at the core of this game is a battle system that simply cannot be beat in the RPG world. Emphasizing this over the story might be difficult for some players, but if you do you'll find a rewarding experience that anyone can enjoy.

Best Deals for Grandia III - PlayStation 2

I'm sure you're one of the Grandia fans from PS2 days and look forward to the same great experience. I doubt you'll be disappointed, and hope my review will cover all the bases so you know what type of games Grandia III is.

First of all, this game had all the hype it needed. There weren't any commercials or anything that made the game seem better then it is. This game brought back feelings of playing the first Grandia (PSX) as well as Lunar: Silver Star Story on the Sega CD. The first 5 hours spent playing this game I was blown away and remembered how fun the battle system was. It's been a while since I played an EXTREMELY good non-Square-enix game. You see...t.his game is made by Game Arts. Thank them for the Lunar series as well as Grandia on the original PlayStation. Even though most people are buying this to pass time til' Kingdom Hearts II, this game really IS worth buying. However, the game is very cutscene drivin' which so far, doesn't bother me at all. The cut-scenes are very well done with a great GRANDIA feeling. Not at all like Xenosaga, which was coldi in its portrayal of the characters. This game has spirit and life; you'll enjoy the plot advancement as well as getting to know your party of heroes.

It's games like this, that really make me wonder what else Square-enix can throw at us. It's going to get better and better each game. (Again, GameArts made this game but S-E was the publisher). I think Final Fantasy XII could be a revolutionary step between action and role-playing games that will bring in more fans. Star Ocean wasn't good enough. Neither is Tales of Legendia. Grandia III has the idea, but I believe FFXII will be _the_ game, but G3 will help you pass the time well.

Sadly the game only last about 30 hours...over two discs...short indeed, but last about as long as the story is going to hold it. There are not any side-quests really or anything extra to unlock. Very straight-forward game, but that doesn't mean it won't hold your attention.

Grandia III has finally brought back whats good in the series after Grandia Xtreme and the PS2 Grandia 2 port. This game has really brought me back to the series and has shown me that when square enix wants to they can breath life into a seies that was thought to be dead. grandia 1 and grandia 2 for the dreamcast were amazing games. but the recent ps2 efforts were not very good. Grandia III does face some problems story wise(it gets worse in the second disk), but players should not play the game for the story, but rather for the battles. They have now added a new way to equipt skills and magic along with a brand new system which allows arial attacks. the graphics are probably the crispist on the playstation 2 (sorry final fantasy). So where the story drops the game play makes up for it.

The music could be better, but the battles have a thrilling drive that makes you want to fight. Not run from battles, but get into them. Speaking of which, you won't have to waste time building levels, unless you don't have a hang of the battle system.

I'll leave the story for you to find out. It's an adventure that's not as up to par as previous games, but nevertheless it has Game Arts written all over it. Pick up this game for a rental if you doubt you'll want to own it. I'm proud to have bought this and will play it over a few months down the line with no less enthusiasm. Now if only they would begin work on LUNAR 3... maybe someday.

Honest reviews on Grandia III - PlayStation 2

I was really surprised the day I heard this long thought dead series was rising from the ashes once again. After playing Xtreme I was hoping for much more, and that's exactly what I got.

Grandia III is just like the other Grandia's that come before it. An epic journey where friendships are made and love is found. With a new unique battle system (like an improved Star Ocean 3), you travel with Yuki and friends around the world in a neat plane. I was excited when I found out I could take to the skies... However the skies are limited. Access to new and outside places that aren't on the linear gamepath go nowhere. One of the serious cons of this 2 disc game. Adding an addicting card game does not also cover up the lack of side quests in this game as well. The leveling system however was competely fun for me and a total blast with the new fighting system installed. Definitely tides me over till games other games are hitting the market.

I definitely enjoyed the unique background and the chemistry between most of the characters. The dubbing wasn't even that bad. I was pretty surprised overall with how enjoyable this game was.

I only gave it a 4 out of 5 due to it's few but minor flaws. I would recommend this to anyone who is out for another quick smash and grab.

Having picked up this title on, essentially, the understanding that it has the same, highly entertaining battle system as Grandia II, it's safe to say I wasn't disappointed on that count. It even embellishes and adds a couple of nice touches.

Unfortunately, that's pretty much where the fun stops. Mediocre voice acting, bland characters, a small world and a story that's difficult to care about all combine to form a thoroughly lackluster title.

But still a better buy than FFX.

This is an excellent game. I happened upon it and decided to buy it, since I loved the N64 version, and the gameplay is much the same. It is incredibly fun, and can be played in co-op which is amazing. The graphics aren't the best, and sometimes the tanks are hard to control, but they're TANKS. An excellent game, and not too hard nor too easy to beat.

RalliSport Challenge 2 Review

RalliSport Challenge 2
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
While I am not a racing purist, I enjoyed both Project Gotham games and enjoy playing all arcade racing games on my Xbox and PS2. In RalliSport Challenge 2, I've completed Amateur, Pro and Champion levels with more than 100 races in the game finished.

First off, you should know that this is a racing simulator, not an arcade-style racer, but even given that, DICE has still worked to make the game enjoyable for all skill levels. Unlockables like new cars and tracks for example, are awarded just by playing the game -you do not have to finish in first place to get them. This alone, makes the game far more enjoyable. Also, simply by driving a car and "putting mileage on it" you'll unlock custom paintjobs for each vehicle. That is until you reach the final stage, SuperRally, where you must place 3rd or better to progress.

STRENGTHS:

The first thing you're going to love about RalliSport Challenge 2 is the graphics. The predecessor (RalliSport Challenge) created the standard for a new level of amazing graphics, but this game improves on that with dynamic graphics, like dirt trails that cloud the view of the people behind you and leaves that kick up from under your tires. Birds resting in your path will take flight as you approach and the scenery can be described as nothing less than picturesque.

The race levels are well designed and well thought out. Each has their own interesting twists and turns and elevation changes have been added so that you can suddenly lose control on a jump or bottom out after a wicked turn. Also, tracks have interesting combinations of sand, mud, dirt and tarmac which all perform differently as you slide through them. Although I may not know from personal experience how it feels to go out of control on snow at 100 MPH, this game gives me a realistic feeling of how bad it would be.

Speaking of which, the damage system works well so that you can't simply play "crash 'em derby" through the races to take out opponents and drive through obstacles, but also doesn't hamper the gameplay by making you drive too cautiously through every turn. You can lose a tire in the game, and believe it or not you can finish by driving on the rims, but your track times will certainly suffer. The game keeps you informed of problems with a damage indicator that is extremely easy to read even at high speeds. In addition, your car will "deteriorate" as you take damage, including blowing out the windows, bumpers dragging behind you and even the hood flying over your head! (Yes, I've instinctively ducked a few times.)

Soundwise, the game is top-notch. The car sounds, special effects and other elements of the game all add to the realism. Although many have complained about the music included on the game, I've enjoyed the thumping tracks as I make my way through the levels and, since the game supports custom soundtracks, you can add your own music anyways.

WEAKNESSES:

Alas, the worst part of playing this game is the off-track camera angles. Because of the elevation changes and other 3D elements of the game, you almost have to play this game in third person view (where your point of view is directly behind the car). Sadly, once you drive too far off track, the camera angle rotates and makes it almost absolutely impossible to get back on track without hitting obstacles and bringing the car to a dead stop. This is worsened when your co-pilot tells you "easy left" and it turns out to be a hairpin turn. You realize that your partner and the game appear to be cheating to work against you.

In addition to the camera angles, the display also can be the cause of a crash. In the RallyCross and Ice Racing competitions, your course map is on the bottom of the screen. As you hit checkpoints, the display changes from the map to show your position in the current race. Obviously, this can be deadly if there's a hairpin turn approaching and you were just glancing down at the map to see how far away you were. In addition, there are a few instances where DICE has placed a "dead end" turn immediately prior to the one you're supposed to take, or a second turn that is sharper than the one your supposed to take. These little "tricks" seem like an additional unfair challenge that the computer cars will not fall for, but also add to the excitement when you outsmart their level designers.

Finally, your opponents do not seem to be affected by darkness or some of the inclement weather conditions. This will certainly frustrate you if you're the kind of player that has to be first in every race.

SUMMARY:

In short, I would recommend this game as a "must have" for anyone who enjoys a true on-road/off-road racing simulation. It should be considered by most a "best of class" game for the Xbox console, despite some of the frustrating shortcomings of the game.

I had to write a review entirely because the spotlight review was written by someone who hadn't 'got' this game or taken the time to explore the settings.

Actually, I see reviews all the time claim this game is an 'arcade' rally game, indicating that perhaps the game lacks depth, maybe has unrealistic physics, or even simple fake graphics.

All of these points are wrong. Completely false. The cars handle extremely realistically, and most folks who play this agree this is the BEST looking racer available. Better than Forza? Not sure, but better than PGR2 by a hundred double the frame rate for start. You see, not least of which is the 60fps you get with a HD TV, but add to that the amazing reflections, muddy splashes, infinite distance view (with a tiny amount of inconsequential pop-up trees) and you have a showcase game. I've had more than one PS2 owner go out and buy an XBOX for this game after playing it in my house testament indeed to the incredible realism this Rally racer offers.

Previously, the 'easy left' that you co-pi states was mentioned as a fault... When your rally co-pilot claims 'Easy left' or 'hard right' then you have the game on arcade setting.

A simple click in the settings would result in '3 left opens to 4' or '1 right, opens to 3. Bump onto straight through tunnel. Hairpin right' offering a much more useful, accurate indication of the upcoming road conditions.

Ultimately this game is stunning. Worth every penny of the budget price it's currently at if you're hesitant due to lax reviews, don't be. I've put in hundreds of hours on this amazing game and it's a real as the Xbox can get.

Best Deals for RalliSport Challenge 2

I'm not a big gamer. I've had my XBOX for over a year and it's mostly collected dust. I love driving simulation games and I think rally is the most fun of the various forms of driving so I picked up RalliSport Challenge 2 based on a day and a half long online search for a good rally game. All of the reviews said that RSC2 had the best combination of realism, fun and graphics.

They were right! The physics model is incredible and the damage is very realistic. When you start an event, your car is shiny and new but when you get to the end, you may be missing a few body parts, have a few broken windows and you're covered in dust, mud, etc. Now THAT's RALLY!

Above all though is the scenery! The graphics are so good that one of my favorite things to do is to just watch the replay of the latest run!

Make you own music video! -

The folks who made this game really added a cool feature with the replay options you have full control over the playback speed and camera selection. Because you can load your own music to the XBOX hard drive, when the replay starts you hear your favorite music playing along with the game sounds and video of your last run. As you control the playback, you can adjust the replay speed from ultra fast to super slow motion with the trigger levers basically making a live music video out of the replay footage! Very sweet!

Australian dirt, Swedish snow, British leaves, French cobblestone streets...

I prefer these over the standard MS battery packs as they last longer charge after charge. I don't end up charging these as often as I do with the Microsoft ones and if you are in need of a new charging cord, these are longer than the Microsoft ones as well, giving you a couple extra feet to work with if you're tethered in while playing.

I have myself the same charger for my own Xbox 360 controller. It works quite well to be honest. It charges fairly quickly and you can play while it charges (well duh right? lol). The only thing that keeps this product from 5 stars is that the battery life only last 6-10 hours per charge. Now for someone who doesn't play much it's no problem, but if you like to play for LONG periods of time, you're gonna have to prepare yourself to charge frequently, lol. All in all, I would reccomend it! It's much cheaper than the official microsoft chargers that sell for 20+ dollars.

This charger came free with the actual 2 battery and charging base. I gave this and one battery to my brother and he said it has been working great.

I like the way it snaps on to the top of the remote and lights up green and red for different charging status. Plugs into any USB port too for pretty decent charging. Not as fast as the base but still fast enough.

Its convenient and doesnt take up much space and does what it is supposed to do.

These power kits have good build quality and work just as good or better then the OEM ones. Get hours of game play and the kids play all day without having to charge them. I would recommend these to someone trying to same a few bucks or is having the same issues I was having with the OEM USB cables from Microsoft.

The P11 headset brings quality at a fair price. It boasts many features that I look for in a headset, while keeping a good 'bang for the buck' price and not sacrificing build quality.

** THE GOOD **

The overall design for the P11 is fairly simple yet sturdy. The cuffs fit snug on my ears even with glasses!(soft foam earmuffs make a big difference)

50mm speakers are a nice addition. You often find smaller 40mm speakers on headsets this price.

Sound quality is exceptional. These easily have performed better than my older Logitech headset and come close to rivaling my Sennheiser HD 515

Control Box is simple yet efficient. It has a MUTE button as well as MIC and GAME volume controls

MIC MONITOR!!! Such a nice feature. You hear your own voice in a subtle fashion so you know how loud you are talking which makes for more natural conversations

12ft cord is nice especially when other headsets are 6-8ft . The extra few feet make a big difference

** THE BAD **

No XBOX 360 support

Frame itself is sturdy but might be prone to cracking if the headset is stressed

Requires 2 cable hookup. While this isn't something new to the market the cable management Nerd in me goes bonkers! Not a negative just adds to wire clutter

** THE ULGY **

The belt clip on the audio controller feels very cheap. Be extra careful with it

* Overall the P11 headset is a lot of bang for your buck. It has a fairly simple setup and works for both PS3 and PC/MAC. It brings very good quality audio to the table, larger/higher quality speakers to the mix, and a small army of features that will make any gamer happy. If you do not own a headset this is a perfect headset for a mid-ranged user. While it isn't top of the line you are getting your money's worth and will not be disappointed in your purchase.

**NOTE: Setup is fairly simple. For a PC/MAC it is plug-n-play. Just plug the green audio cable into your sound card and then plug the USB cable in. After drivers are automatically installed you should be set to go (you might have to manually set the computer to the headset which can be done in Device Manager > Hardware and Sound > Sound

For a PS3 just plug the USB cable into the PS3. The stereo adapter cables then hook up to the Audio OUT of your TV and you plug the green cable into those or you can plug the green cable into the back of the PS3 and just mute your TV. Go into your PS3 accessory settings and change the headset output to the P11 device. Both PC and PS3 setups are very easy to do

P11 vs PX21 what is the difference?

The P11 is the newest model from Turtle Beach and boasts some "minor" changes to the design. Below is a break down so you can decide which headset is right for you

P11 = PS3, PC/MAC

X11 = 360, PC/MAC

PX21 = PS3, 360, PC/MAC (universal)

X11 and PX21 both use 40mm drivers.... P11 uses 50mm drivers and outputs a bit better bass. The PX21 has a 16ft cord vs the 12ft cord of the X11 and P11. The PX21 also has a flexi-MIC where as the X11 and P11 both use standard mic's. The PX21 also has an option to adjust the Bass boost.

* So overall if you own a PS3 and 360... you want a PX21. What it sacrifices is basically 10mm of speaker power but gives you a nice universal headset for around $10 more. If you only own a PS3, a PC or PS3/PC then you probably should get the P11 as you end up with slightly better audio for less money.

**NOTE: If you have a "hum/buzz" on the speakers here is how to resolve it:

-The audio output of GAME on the audio controller is set to high. This is noise being picked up from the volume being to loud. Just like turning speakers up to max w/o any audio source. Easy way to resolve it is by lowering the master volume in windows (mine defaulted to 94 which I promptly changed to 70). Then just adjust the GAME audio control on the clip on device until the hum vanishes. You should still have clear, loud audio but w/o the white noise now.

**NOTE: For reference on the PC I set windows to volume: 70 (USB headset); my CHAT slider is about 70-80% and my GAME slider is about 50-60% Gives me loud, crystal clear audio w/o any noise.

this headset is a great value. for only 60 bucks, you get very high quality sound for both your ps3 and pc or mac. one noticeable thing is the weight. these are very, very light. most of the time i forget i even have them on! the mic is very high quality; reception is clear on both ends. things sound spectacular on the ps3, especially bad company 2. footsteps are loud, gunshots are powerful, and explosions are very articulate with plenty of bass. overall, a great headset and a great value.

Best Deals for Turtle Beach PS3 Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset

Turtle Beach has been making gaming headsets for years. Yet I found myself P11 deserves to be one of the

best headset made by anybody. I don't like all glitters, therefore let me go into deep core first.

PROS

1. Good and matching design for PS3 (Black finish and red stripes makes it aesthetically impressive)

2. Comfortable and light; after long hours bashing buttons, gamers with big headsets like this one would hurt themselves.

However, due to its comfy and light measurements, no worries here! I think I could go all night with this baby! (No innuendo btw)

3. Sound Controller, or AMP will make sure you to have maximum gaming experiences. You can MUTE anytime you want, and increase/decrease your chat volume. The Chat Monitor allows players to hear themselves so that way, player don't have to yell.

4. Sound Quality, it is good period Amped up and stereo is really good. For example, In CoD Modern Warfare or CoD Black Ops, I could hear much better now! I could hear enemies location, footsteps, cooking grenades, and etc. I would have to try this headset with GT5, DeadSpace 1 or 2, MW2, and my other games to realize its extend.

5. Ergonomics, Seriously gamers, if you could buy Sony's brand new Bluetooth microphone, why not buy this?

It comes with TWO features you know. One headset and other crystal-clear microphone. The price is only $50 in Amazon. I believe retailers sell you for $60. It is only $10 difference or so. Yet it is so much better. Trust me, I was an once-a-user of Bluetooth. And I know the pain. haha

6. USB powered, which means that you don't have to charge your thing everyone time you wish to play some games.

CONS

1. Cheap Material? Well this could be subjective because for me, I think the stuff they used to make this thing, isn't that cheaply made. Yet you better be careful with this baby because the top part and the earpiece connector seem to be ... little not sturdy. So...

2. Cables? Well come on everybody, it is just a another cable in your collection of tangled cables. Why not add a another one? Besides the headset gives you a long cord so, no worries here too.

So at the end, I would recommend this one to friend or anybody who has doubts about it. You cannot go wrong with this one. Unless you are a really new to the system but sound quality, design, microphone, price and etc. overwhelms the cons.

Now, I will go over some things that I have learned.

Troubleshooting

***Very important use the PS3 AV Cables! Yes they are important, otherwise you cannot hear anything from your earpieces. Go find one from the box (every PS3 boxes come with a AV cable), hook it up to PS3 and the headset.

***PC users, don't be alarmed. If you think your PC speakers still make noises? No it is not! It is most likely the P11!

I could be wrong, depend on the PC's models but I advise to check forums or such.

***Setting up is easy.

Thank you for reading my review. One more reminder though, BUY THIS!

Honest reviews on Turtle Beach PS3 Ear Force P11 Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset

The problem with the entire line of turtle beach PS3/PC gaming headsets is the same and I've broken over a dozen so I know. They will break very quickly if you do not use the belt clip and even then they will still eventually cease working.

Why they break:

The volume control box is separated by two types of wire, one is thicker, reinforced and heavy, the other wire is much shorter and vastly weaker. The short weak wire takes most of the tension which is put on it by the bigger heavier wire and the wiring ends up breaking under it's own weight. There is a way to counteract this which is to simply always use the belt clip *always*. This is not conveniently designed and most people will neglect to use it due to it's impracticality and discomfort.

What to expect:

If you can manage to barely move while wearing them they might actually take more than 3 months (at best) to develop a fault in the wiring, but in the long run they will succumb to the same design failures. Expect them to last around 40-90 days before the sound starts cutting out. Most models of turtle beach headsets do suffer from this problem, so don't expect a more expensive pair to fare better. You can in some places buy a year long warranty, but expect the shipping costs, mediocre and sometimes outright dishonest customer service and overall hassle to outweigh how cost effective that actually ends up being. *DO NOT BUY* this product. I cannot stress that enough.

Have a nice day.

Now, I've only had the headset for a few days now. But I wanted to share my experience with it.

Anyways, I got this headset because of two previous failures on the line. Previously, I've had the Turtle Beach PX-21 (which the P11 is an upgrade for apparently, that's what I've heard anyways) and the Triton AX-180. I tested this headset playing the games Call of Duty Black Ops, Metal Gear Solid 4, and SOCOM 4.

The PX-21 is by far the best I've used so far (even better then this headset) because of it's abundance of features and great sound, but the right earpiece failed within 18 days of purchase. Most people purchasing a headset for such good prices want durability out of their headsets. I'm one of those. I sent it back in for a refund and bought the Triton AX-180.

The Triton's we're a mixed bag with me. The sound quality wasn't as good as with the PX-21's. But the sound was more then enough for me, and the Triton's shared most of the features on the PX-21 (excluding the chat boost). But, approximately 2 months after purchase. The left earphone stopped working. Of course, my warranty had expired. So I decided to search for a new headset to buy, and came up with these. The Turtle Beach P11.

Now, as I've said, I've only owned them for 2 days. But this is a great headset, very close to matching the PX-21. But the lack of earcups that can turn (both the earcups are adjustable on both other headsets) is the first thing I have noticed. It's not bad, and most possibly stops the wiring problems caused by headsets with turning earcups (as in stopping that from breaking very fast).

The second thing I noticed was how the chat boost feature (which I loved) from the PX-21's was removed. This is definitely a down with me, as this was a very nifty feature to have.

The third thing I noticed (actually something that I noticed the moment I put these on) is the buzzing noise. It's usually not this bad, while it was there on both other headsets, it is absolutely terrible on these. With a decent amount turned up it becomes way to apparent. Luckily, the buzzing seems to be either drowned out or goes away whenever sound is going through the headphones, meaning that you can still game pretty easily with these things on. It never get's in the way, but can be annoying in the quieter parts of watching a movie or playing a game. Luckily (yes again), the buzzing seems to start to go away the longer you game with the headphones. It's becoming more and more negligible every day (this is not because I am getting used to it).

But, enough with the problems. The sound out of these things is absolutely amazing, it actually outperforms the PX-21 thanks to it's 50mm speakers compared to the usual 40mm usually associated with this type of headset. The headset performs very well at all volumes. On the games I've played on it, the sound is very good and the direction sound is great. I can hear the sounds I never thought there was in these games before I used headphones just fine. I can also hear an enemies footsteps a great way away.

Apart from that, the P11's do music very well. As well as movies (SWAT and Dungeons and Dragons).

Another thing is that these things are just awesomely lightweight. Most of the time I don't even notice I'm wearing them at all. It weighs next to nothing. This is a definite plus with the bulk of PX-21 (it's larger (the PX-21), not much heavier though) and the strange weight I felt with the Triton's. The earcups are also very comfortable and fit amazingly well around my ears.

But, this lightweight thing leads to the P11's greatest weakness. The materials it is built out of seem very cheap. Most of it is made out of what appears to be plastic, and it all seems very cheap. There is hardly any padding on this headset at all, and I really don't see it lasting very long. We'll see how it does, I'll write back if it ever breaks (ehhem... when it breaks).

Anyways, here is a pro's and con's list of all three headsets to clarify some of the finer points.
