Review of Toy Story Racer
I love playing this game with my kids. The controls are easy and the concept is straightforward. By owning the movies, you must own this game for the young and old gamers.
PS1 classic, for nostalgia fans.

Discount XBOX Mortal Kombat Klassic Fightstick
Been playing MK since i was 5 back in 92. and I just bought back a piece of my childhood. Great feel and look to this controller.
While the hardware is EXCELLENT (Shang Tsung claps enthusiastically in the background) the Klassic stick unfortunately lacks the hinged opening case which was a great feature of the MK9 stick; which opens for storage and access to the inner workings for repair purposes (yes I've already had to replace one HAPP switch on my MK9 stick and opted to replace the A, B, X, and Y buttons with their respective colors to make training on Xbox a little easier to learn) so I tend to use this one less often than the MK9 stick because I want to keep it running nicely since repairs won't be quite as easy.
My only complaints are minor, and in regards to the software, so Ed Boon, if you're listening, please take note...
First of all there are a few glitches that some may try to argue were in the original game, but I am positive they were not. The awesome Goro music in MK1 cuts off after a few bars and you're left to fight the monster in anticlimactic silence. There's also some weird echoing of the fanfare on the Vs. screen in MK2. There are probably a few others, but these are the most noticeable so far...
The button config could have been a little easier to use, namely that RB should have been the "start" button because that tiny xbox start button is impossible to find in the heat of battle when Dan Forden pops out and says "toasty" on the Portal stage in MK2 and you're trying to hit start so you can fight Smoke. The RB button is in the right place for where the start button was on the arcade console, and would have been a much more natural placement for arcade fans who know by feel where the start button should be for Random Select. Clearly the software was designed with only the standard xbox controller in mind, and therefore favors people who casually dropped a mere 10 bucks for a cheap game download, and slights hardcore fans who lovingly spent $130 (original price) for the full Mortal Kombat Arcade experience. How hard would it have been to add a different control preset?
And personally, I would have loved the option to play regular MK3 and not just the George Lucasized Ultimate MK3.
Anyway, the game has some bugs but is still playable, and unfortunately since the video game industry is so screwed up, they probably will never be patched.
But obviously it's the hardware that's of interest here, and it's definitely worth getting. Xbox controllers work on PCs, so even if you don't have an Xbox, get one to play MK on your computer!

Right out the box. No setup needed. Feels just like the arcade from the 90's. box is heavy so it won't jerk and cause a misdirection. Recommended!Best Deals for XBOX Mortal Kombat Klassic Fightstick
This thing looks like a $500 piece in person. Comes with a DLC for all the games. Exact Arcade replica with all Suzo-Happ components. You can open it and everything inside is serviceable, will last forever.Honest reviews on XBOX Mortal Kombat Klassic Fightstick
This thing is solid. It's like someone sawed off a piece of the arcade machine and gave it to you. Even though you pay for it, it still feels like someone gave it to you. And it feels exactly like the arcade. You'll never have to play with some crummy d-pad and weird button config again. It works with MK9 and the original trilogy which is included with this Klassic version of the stick. I can't vouch for it working with any other MK games, but let's face it, if you're like me and interested in the Arcade Kollection, you probably don't care about the other MK games.

Cheap AGPtek® 2.4GHz Wireless Replacment Gaming Controller For Xbox 360
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $50.99
Sale Price: $29.55
Today's Bonus: 42% Off

This controller is not an official Microsoft controller. There is actually no brand on the control or the packaging. No serial numbers on control. The range for the wireless is 10 ft. My friend walked in front of the Xbox to change discs and I was on couch 12 ft away and it lost connection to the Xbox. The sensitivity of the joysticks is terrible!! It's all or nothing, there is no fine movements ie: trying to snipe on a fps game, forget it! If you have a game with a rotary layout with the joystick to select an item or move, it doesn't work, it only reads up, down, left, or right, no in between on the joysticks. Overall, only good for a child's game where they don't need sensitivity of the joysticks, or if they don't mind the controll randomly disconnecting or shutting off. Buy a real Microsoft controller and save yourself the headache!!!!!!

This Controller is fake. It is a fake produce of a xbox 360 controller. I bought this controller a few months ago, but when I first bought it, the left joy stick gave out on me on the 2nd day, it kept moving around on its own, and within a few more days the joy stick of the controller would just keep going right even though i was not touching it. This is a fake controller never buy this, trust me. It is better to get a genuine xbox 360 controller that only cost a few bucks more then this.Best Deals for AGPtek® 2.4GHz Wireless Replacment Gaming Controller For Xbox 360
You can seriously feel the lower quality when just handling this controller. The buttons are slightly tougher to press and the analog sticks don't move quite as well as an actual 360 controller. And the clicking noises with each press. Guhhh it's abnoxious! I recommend this controller ONLY if you're short on cash and need a new controller fast like I did. But in the end, i still wasn't too happy.Honest reviews on AGPtek® 2.4GHz Wireless Replacment Gaming Controller For Xbox 360

Best No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In H.A.R.M.'s Way Deals
The world of first person shooters is getting a bit played out. There's pretty much two kinds of them: the realistic military type (Counterstrike, Ghost Recon, Operation Flashpoint) and the sci-fi type (Unreal, Alien vs. Predator, System Shock). In all this, there's not much room for improvement and things are getting a bit repetitiveall you do is go in and kill everything that moves, and solve (or cheat) your way past the occasional puzzle that primarily exists to justify putting a longer gameplay figure on the box. Looking at most new titles, the only really interesting thing is even more detailed graphics and effects, whichby the waymean you need a new PC.
Enter No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in HARM's Way. This excellent shooter and sequel to an excellent shooter is the type that will save the genre. Here's why:
System requirements: You don't need a new PC to run this game, but this doesn't mean it looks like the original Doom. More on that later.
Gameplay: There are some puzzles, but they aren't annoying or counterintuitive. It is possible to get past some levels without killing anyone. Curiosity and inventiveness pay off here, but if you can't do that, you can usually just go in with guns blazing.
Something new: The game has some nice additions from the original NOLF. Most significant of these are skills. Completing primary and secondary objectives and finding intelligence items gives you points, which you can invest in 8 different skills that all have a significant impact on gameplay. Additionally, there are new and cool gadgets to play with. Many of them auto-activate when necessary, which disposes of the annoyance of having to switch over to use them. HARM also has some new hires and allies, including French mimes (no, I didn't make that up). Do you need any other reason to play?
Story: This is what really makes the game fun. The voice acting and cutscenes (all done with the game engine) are superb, and really draw you into the plot. As you might guess from the title, the usual suspects are up to no good once again. It's a tossup as to whether this is more of a James Bond or Austin Powers kind of script, but whatever it is, it's a good one.
AI: The NOLF AI is smartas good as any other game I've seen. They take cover behind objects, go prone, roll out of the way of grenades, and seek you out if you make noise. The AI characters also act like real people. If you pick one of them off with a silenced weapon, they'll be confused for a second and then load their guns and start looking around. If you can see them, they can see you, and given enough time they definitely will.
Replayability: Due to the detail of the levels, it's unlikely you'll find everything there is to find on one pass. Also, the AI behaves in a random enough fashion that every time you play an area the outcome could be very different (if you don't believe me, just try reloading a save). Also, you don't have enough skill points to advance to the max in every area. Playing again with a different set of skills is quite fun. For example, try going all-out stealth and health instead of firepower and attempt to sneak your way through places you blasted by earlier. It's arguably more exciting trying this!
Graphics and sound: This is the first game I've seen that models expressions believably. The Jupiter engine has the look and feel of something that would require a cutting-edge machine to run, but goes smoothly on an average computer. It is, quite simply, astonishing. There's a huge amount of interaction with the environment, and things have an almost movie-like appearance. The characters are especially a pleasure to see, due to the attention to detail. Ms. Archer in particular has had a gorgeous makeovershe is arguably the hottest woman in any game to date, even including live motion actresses. Oh, and by the way, the soundtrack is killer.
Multiplayer: The version of the game that shipped did not have significant multiplay support. This has been remedied. Updating to the latest version gives you deathmatch, team deathmatch, cooperative, and assault game modes. Additionally, there are plenty of maps out now. The only thing missing here is bots, which is a bit of a pity considering how good the AI is. I'm sure someone will think to add those later.
If this isn't enough to convince you, the setting is just plain cool. This is the 60's, folks, complete with President Johnson, neon colored clothing, retro-tech spygear, and even a bellicose American general. The characters that populate this world have true depth and, more often than not, are good for some great laughs. Lastly, this game is probably the best deal you'll ever see at such a low price. Don't miss outgrab NOLF 2 while you can.
Cate Archer isn't Rambo. Her missions aren't about shooting everyone in sight. Instead, you lurk in the shadows, use your ultra-cool weapons like the Angry Kitty, and distract your enemies by throwing coins or hitting wind chimes.
The levels are very well done. The graphics are great and quite realistic, making you really feel like you're in different areas of the world in the 60s. The computer characters chat with each other and the ambient noise fits in well. The music is great!
There are all sorts of types of missions, with a wide selection of weapons to find and funny scenes to keep you entertained. The game really pulls you along and the ride is quite enjoyable. The characters are very well done and seem quite real. Add on to all of this a quite-fun on line game experience and you can easily play this for months. Highly recommended for any spy-game-fan!
Yes, this is basically another first-person shooter with an entrance and exit to each level, fairly linear missions, and several "bosses" to defeat, but enough was going on in between to keep me very interested. I found the levels and missions were also varied enough between stealth, shoot-em-up, investigation, riding on a snowmobile, and downgright silliness, to keep things from getting dull.
The graphics are gorgeous and show excellent use of the lithtec jupiter engine. All the locales from snowy Siberia to the caves of HARM's secret underground headquarters (complete with artificial lava) are very well done. I especially enjoyed the retro 60's look in HARM's undersea lab and UNITY's headquarters.
The sounds and music are also outstanding. One level has Cate doing some investigating in a trailer park in Ohio with a full blown tornado in the background. While inside, the sounds of the
wind battering and rattling the house are quite unnerving. Once outside, total chaos reigns with sounds of debris striking off of and embedding itself in various surfaces while the wind roars in the background and trailers roll over. The music is top-notch and perfectly matches each locale and the 60's theme. The music also changes appropriately depending on the action.
As far as weapons go, you always start each mission with just a small array, but every level has plenty of weapons to find with a little looking. As is the case with the game in general, weapons range from the typical shoot-em-up ak47's and tommy guns, to spy gadgets like tranquilizer darts and stun guns, to the plain absurd like laughing gas grenades, explosive mechanical kitties, and my favorite hands-down the banana!
It's really the characters, though, that made the game for me. The voice acting is movie quality and all of the NPC's are done very well. And, unlike the Austin Powers series, there is no shameless mugging or gross humor here, which implies that the creators of this game know what real humor is namely grabbibg a tommy-gun and hopping on the back of a kiddie tricycle being peddaled by your burly Scottish sidekick (kilt and all) in pursuit of a 3 foot mime/arch-criminal on a unicycle through the back streets of an Indian city.
System specs: P4 1.9ghz, 512mb rambus, TI4600 Geforce4 128mb, Soundblaster live X-gamer. Performance was flawless.
NOLF2 delivers another dose of the same in this first person shooter. The graphics are well-done with Lithtech's Jupiter engine. The levels are varied (the tricycle chase and the house-in-a-tornado battle were both different and hilarious), the conversations between the bad guys are as much the silly fun they were in the original and the action is well-paced. A new skills-based "lite" system adds interest to the game. Cate Archer, the character you play, is able to be made into a sneaky, silent spy or a full-bore gun goddess. Your choice!
The Artificial Intelligence is some of the most interesting that I've seen. The baddies don't just go off on timed pathfinding. They are programmed to be object based. In other words, they do something different all the time, based on objects in a room. And when there are many different objects in the room (cigarettes, chairs, desks, coffee cups, etc.) it can trigger a different action each time you load the game--extending its replayability.
So, with so much right, why only 4 stars? On its own, it's a brilliant game. However, compared to the original NOLF, it is missing something. It's taken me a long time to pinpoint what that is, but I believe it lacks the same soul as its predecessor. The cut scenes have been trimmed CONSIDERABLY, which has led to less character development than the original had. The game is also shorter. Plus, some of the stealth aspects were still less feasible because there is a place early in the game where the baddies respawn. It tends to push you from loitering in one place for too long, but that is an irritating way to move the game along.
Overall, I got the feeling that the developers did an excellent job listening to complaints about the original and addressing them. However, I believe they overcorrected in their solutions. Still, the game stands on its own. I have no doubt a third installment will be coming. My hope is that the end result will include the better storytelling aspects from the first, meshed with the improved design of the second.

Having never played the first installment, I can't vouch for NOLF2's faithfulness as a sequel. Apparently some fans of the first NOLF were a bit disappointed. Regardless, I am now officially hooked on Cate Archer. "A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way" beautifully captures all the feel, textures, and sounds of 60's spy flicks with an absolutely delightful sense of humor.Yes, this is basically another first-person shooter with an entrance and exit to each level, fairly linear missions, and several "bosses" to defeat, but enough was going on in between to keep me very interested. Honest reviews on No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy In H.A.R.M.'s Way
If you had the opportunity to play the original No One Lives Forever, and you're thinking of purchasing the sequel, chances are you liked the original: A fun, campy, action-packed spoof of 1960's spy movies (James Bond in particular) and television shows.NOLF2 delivers another dose of the same in this first person shooter. I didn't think NOLF 2 would be so good, but it is awesome. Much better engine, great multiplayer, and more. And Cate is back, tautin' enemies, bein' her normal super spy self, you even get to find super ninja assasins with swords!!! It's so fun!!! It requires pretty heavy systems though, not as heavy as ut2003. And the gameplay is great, much better lightning quality and texture/environment detail plus shadow quality, better sound effects, music effects, only by alittle. Very Realistic Shadows, though I think they need to work on casting the shadows on to the models. Besides that, it's great!! Awesome!! On my computer, as I believe it's an P4 1.7ghz, 256 mb ram, GeForce 2 mx, WinXP, and more, It ran pretty fast and pretty slow. Yet the graphics are incredible, and so is the AI. Much better more realistic ingame cinematics, it requires an Pentium III 500mhz, 128mb of ram, 1.4 GB of HARD DRIVE SPACE, DirectX 8.1, 32MB 3-D Graphics Accelerator modern completeley compatible and supporting DirectX8.1 with Hardware T & L, it also requires an Windows Compatible 16-Bit DirectX compatible and certified sound card, 56kModem connection, and the OS is Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000 with latest service pack/XP. They recommed P3 1ghz, 64 MB vid card same, same sound card just with EAX 2.0 support, 1.67 GB of Hard Drive space, cable connection, And that's all I remember. And the water is much better. All I can say is this may end up being the 2002 action game of the year!!! I recommend this for any action/adventure gamer that meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements of NOLF2!!:) I recommend GeForce 3, but GeForce 1 is required....Monday, October 13, 2014

This game is a hoot---absolutely terrible graphics, but my fiance, brother and I were in stitches laughing as we blew up enemies with our 3 pixeled tanks. I'm well pleased with it----delivered just what I expected from when I played it as a kid.Honest reviews on Battletanx: Global Assault: Playstation 1

This is an excellent game. I happened upon it and decided to buy it, since I loved the N64 version, and the gameplay is much the same. It is incredibly fun, and can be played in co-op which is amazing. The graphics aren't the best, and sometimes the tanks are hard to control, but they're TANKS. An excellent game, and not too hard nor too easy to beat.Saturday, October 4, 2014
Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi Extra Reviews
I absolutely love Cave's bullet hell games and I nearly got em all for Xbox360
So here is a little review for Ketsui.
This game is real hard, at least for me and I 1cc DDP BL so yeah.
To everyone who loves shmups go and buy it, its worth every cent, you can learn your route through the bullet hell(heaven) and make it to the finish.
The level design is lovely, IGS style, many enemies coming down the way and there are no noticeable slowdown though the game.
The music is metalish and just perfect for this military designed shmup.
Replay value is medium to high.
If you're into shmups go buy it.

Best Blowout Deals
Over 12 Hrs of Gameplay for $15...how can you beat that!! I found Blowout to be a great chance to go back to the days of no nonsense, no story, just kill everything games that we grew up with. The company that made it is the same ones that did BloodRayne and Roadkill and it really shows that they have some talent. I also wanted to mention that my Blowout box has a TEEN rating not mature as it says on this site.
Don't expect much from the graphics, and try not to laugh as you realize this is a PS2 game and not a PS1 game. Honestly, I can't tell the difference as it seems this was ported from the PS1. Even many PS1 games look better then this!
The sound is forgettable, turn it off and enjoy your own music. I have to say the 'opening theme' music that plays during the initial CG cutscne is adequete if repetitive (a looping heavy-guitar riff). Almost as if they tried way too hard to be 'cool'. There's no environmental audio and the 'ambient' sounds of the enemies growls/snarls nearly always play even if you're nowhere near them so you aren't missing much. The enemies appear (and reappear) without rhyme or reason around nearly every corner (even areas you've been to) so you don't have to listen for any audio cues to shoot anything that moves.
In-game, you're constantly interrupted by 'Mr White Nerdy Guy' and you have to listen to 'Mr Tough Black Stereotype' talking like something out of a comedy movie-parody (like 'Not Another Teen Movie'). I mean you had 'Barret' from FF7 that had a similar stereotypical personality, but even then you could at least be distracted by the story.
The controls are absurd, either you can 'move and aim' with the same joystick or you can seperate them both between two joysticks (which takes a bit of getting used to) but neither format really seems comfortable even after several hours of play.
The storyline seems like it was written by a 3rd grader, and even they could write better stuff then this. However, you don't really play a shooter/action game like this for the story, you want to have fun!
That's where the real faults lie. The gameplay is generic, uninspired, and a very poor 'run around to find the key/throw the switch/unlock the door' maze game. Unlike the much-superior Metriod series (ANY Metriod game is better then this, even the GameBoy ones!), this game fails to provide meaninful powerups (several of the weapons are near-useless even if ammo is plentiful), you run around aimlessly throughout the level without much of a clue where to go (and by the time you find the 'map console' that opens up the entire map you might as well have explored everything yourself). The 'destructible environment' is a misnomer, as you can only blow away walls/ceilings in very specific areas to create pre-defined shortcuts that don't really make that much of a difference. The enemies repeat themselves and 'respawn' fairly often whether you've been through an area or not. They show no intelligence whatsoever and are pretty much gun/flame fodder.
The 'Boss Battles' are pretty much a very confined one-screen-width room without any 'safe areas' (so you have to keep running/flying back and forth) with bosses that follow a preset pattern that takes all of a minute to learn and 'beat' them.
The 'description' of the game says you're leading a platoon but that's misleading as you are always by yourself and the only other person you talk to is the annoying 'Mr White Geek Guy'.
I'd say you should probably go get the original Doom on PC rather then play this. Doom was fairly simplistic but the first-person perspective (as well as the puzzles) at least elevated it above this wannabe.

When I saw this game in the store, I insantly wanted to get it because it is rare to see non three d games now a days. I like three d games but it is cool to see a modern one dimentional game to be released. Like one reviewer said there isn,t much of a story line but it is a fun game. But the graphics could of been a little better being on ps2. Not to mention it isn't a very old game it was released in 2003. But that is the only reason why I didn't give it five stars.I know they could of made the game with better back ground graphics with the technology they have now a days. But other than that this is a very fun game and if you like one dimentional games this would be a good choice for you.Best Deals for Blowout
Fun game no real story, but who needs one in this action packed shooter. The main character is cool, the enemies are not as cool, but heck you are splattering them all over the ship, so who cares. Ahh.. the days of just plain fun games is back!Honest reviews on Blowout

Thought this would be a fun old school 2D scroller. Well its a scroller at least. Jerky game play that is disrupted by an off camera voice. It really tries to add depth and plot to what should be a shoot em up. Yeeeessh, unless you're in the market for a DVD coaster or simply need a gag gift, avoid this one.Wednesday, October 1, 2014
Buy Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Fiber Optic Cable
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $29.99

It's a monster cable for 20 bucks so I guess you would expect it work flawlessly; it does. Maybe the product has changed since it last got reviewed by the May 2006 reviewer, but mine came with the Toslink adapter. Not sure what to do with it though, didn't need it. The monster cable plugged right into the stock XBOX 360 adapter. The Toslink adapter that is included is probably required if you bought the other Monster XBOX 360 Component cable set. Not sure.
Anyway, if you want to plug a digital cable into the stock xbox 360 adapter and into a music system, this'll probably do the trick.
The price is great too. A regular 4' fibre optic cable is retailing for $30.
Needless to say, that is low, and yet typical of the overrated/overpriced Monster brand. Since these are the only high end A/V cables for the 360, and do make a difference, it's worth it, but beware of this.

After I received this product I was a little surprised to see how this cable was packaged. The way that the cable is placed in its packaging caused a kink in the cable. This is a little bit of a concern for a fiber optic cable since light needs to travel on a straight path and any kinks in the cable can affect sound quality. Monster Cable should know this better than most and Im surprised their quality control hasnt caught or corrected the packaging faux paus (sp?). I was eventually able to straighten the cable after repeated attempts of bending the cable in the opposite direction. But this is not a good idea either as it may cause further problems for some people if theyre not careful enough. Anyway, after I straightened it out and plugged it in, it seemed to work fine. Overall, the quality of the cable is good, it was just irritating to see a kink in a fiber optic cable after unpackaging it.Best Deals for Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Fiber Optic Cable
I bought the Monster component cable to replace the stock cable that came with the 360. The stock cable has a toslink out on the cable. The Monster brand has a proprietary connection instead of a toslink(1/8th mini jack). So if you want digital audio(and you do if you sprung for the Monster component cable), you are REQUIRED you to buy their optical cable in order to get the mini jack to toslink convertor.Needless to say, that is low, and yet typical of the overrated/overpriced Monster brand. Since these are the only high end A/V cables for the 360, and do make a difference, it's worth it, but beware of this.
Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Fiber Optic Cable
As the description says, a fiber optic cable is the only way to get the surround sound out of your 360. This is true not only for the games, but also for DVD playback. With this cable, my 360 has not only replaced my original XBox, but my DVD player as well. If you have a receiver that has a DTS decoder in it, you can play your DTS movies through the 360. I tested "The 5th Element" on the DTS track, and it sounded crystal clear, as did "Call of Duty 2." The cable is THX certified which ensures the best quality sound you can get on the market. If you want to use the speakers on your TV, fine. If you want the full 360 experience, get this cable and hook it up to your surround sound. You will not be sorry.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Xbox 360 Monster GameLink Fiber Optic Cable
This is a required purchase if you bought the Monster Cable VGA cable or component cable for the 360 and you want digital audio. They have a custom jack on the side of their component or VGA cable that requires an adapter unlike the Microsoft ones that have a standard Toslink jack. Buying their optical cable is only way to buy the adapter. Fortunately the prices are reasonable and for the price of a standard cable you get the adapter jack for free. Basically its a way for them to make more money off of you because there really is not a necessity for this. Its rumored that the older adapter that comes with Toslink cable for the original Xbox also works with this jack.Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Bought this product with lots of concerns. First off being I've never heard of a Xbox Vault. Well thought my dad would like one for Christmas, so i chanced it. Would first like to say it was delivered before it was even due!, got it, opened it up and the packaging was cool enough alone to have as a gift. It turned out being a incredible item. I showed it to my boyfriend(who i ordered the special edition Gears Of War Vault, and its still not in yet!!) fell in love with the case. Its a must have for any true gamer!Tuesday, August 19, 2014
Review of Mafia II
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $15.79

Back in 2007 when the first trailer for Mafia II debuted, I said to myself this looks awesome.
I played the first one and thought it was one of the best PC Games ever made, So I was looking forward to this game since it was announced. I was blown away by the demo despite it having a 12 minute time limit. It wasn't long into my Mafia II playing experience that I realized I enjoyed playing a 12 minute demo more than playing 2 hours of the actual game.
I was very disappointed in this one.
The game is set in a fictional called Empire Bay (Based heavily on 1940's-50's era New York City)Taking place after World War 2 and beginning in 1945 when The main character Vito, returns home from serving in the US Army. We are introduced to Empire Bay and the games characters. The vintage cars & Well put together oldies soundtrack add to the overall feel of the 40's and it certainly feels authentic. However This all provides a facade for a game that lacks much substance and leaves the player craving for any kind of excitement. This game reminds me of a beautiful woman, appealing and seductive at first glance, but you find she's as dumb as a bag of rocks.
Mafia II is similar to it's predecesor. The story is really the only thing that makes this game interesting but it's dense plot and predictable outcome really make it just as dull and boring as the gameplay. The voice acting is certainly one of the few postitives of the game, featuring the voices of TV stars Rick Pasqualone & Sonny Marinelli. The Cinematics really make you feel like your watching a Scorcese flick, sadly this isn't enough to mask the insipid world around the player.
The map itself isn't very big to begin with, Despite having an open world with seemingly limitless possibilities, The game feels more like a dictator forcing you to rush through the game and beat it as quickly as you can. For instance,
when Vito completes a Chapter/Mission he is always told to "go home" and "sleep" this leaves the story to proceed to the next chapter. I'm not saying it should be like GTA, But it would have been better if you could space out your story progression and do side-missions for different characters at your own leisure, rather than just go straight up the gut with the story. Perhaps 2k Czech did this purposely to hide what awful non-linear activities they have spread throughout the map
To put it blatantly there is really nothing outside the linear plot that can keep you occupied, The car customization option is a really cool feature and I'm sorry to say is perhaps the highlight of the game, allowing you to get a fresh paint job, new rims, and engine upgrade. Unless you enjoy robbing stores, Bringing stolen cars to a chop shop for money, Getting drunk or buying clothes this game is not for you.
There is no free roam save feature the game saves automatically when you advance to the next chapter, this really cripples the open world, sandbox type game I was expecting it to be. Mafia II lacks the diversity of the other mafia themed video games such as The Godfather. The Godfather allowed you to run a vast criminal empire of rackets, store fronts and prostitution rings, why wouldn't The people at 2k Czech realize that's what being in the mafia was all about and what makes the game fun and interesting. 2k Czech must not have played this game after they made it because they would realize how dull and un inspiring of a game it was, Which makes me wonder why they even delayed this game for as long as they did. It didn't improve anything. The map is consists of only 3 islands which are all clones of each other with simlar buildings, shops and streets.
If anyone played the demo, somewhere along your torturous experience in this game you'll notice the subtle differences like the bridge cincematic in the demo is not even in the game at all. I feel 2k sucker punched us and made us look like fools.
This game had alot of potential. It wasn't long into my Mafia II playing experience that I realized I enjoyed playing a 12 minute demo more than playing 2 hours of the actual game. My advice to those interested in purchasing this game, don't be decieved by the trailers, gameplay footage or what favorable reviews you may come across, This game isn't half bad however I would not reccomend buying it there is no replay value at all. It's the ultimate game designed to look good in Trailers, Posters, etc. and set us up for a high expectations and HUGE letdown. Perfect example of style lacking substance.
As I said before the story of Mafia 2 is excellent and VERY much carries the game. You play as Vito Scalletta, a poor Italian-American in the 1940's who, after fighting in WWII, finds himself drawn into the world of crime. Every character in Mafia 2 is well developed and well voice-acted and the story plays out very dynamically (starting in WWII Italy to a prison stretch to being a mafioso on the streets on Empire Bay) but is easy to follow.
The graphics are also excellent in Mafia 2 and really bring the world to life. Snow and leaves fall, birds and cats move around on stoops and in alleys, and people go on about their daily lives while you are on a mission. The building interiors look especially good like they were taken out of an episode of 'Mad Men'. The character models are surprisingly detailed as well.
While the presentation of Mafia 2 is a wonder to behold, the gameplay is very disappointing. The controls are shaky when you're just walking around. Driving around takes some getting used to but is fun overall, same with hand-to-hand combat. Shooting and covering however is lacking: namely you can't blind-fire from cover. Normally I wouldn't mind (I mean you can't blind-fire in Mass Effect either) but when your enemies CAN blind-fire from cover and with some of them trying to rush you, gun-fights can get frustrating.
Mafia 2 is also very linear. I don't mind that there's no side-missions (which I rarely partook in games like GTA or Red Dead Redemption) but the basic story-missions almost never have alternate paths. This is a shame because there's a couple really good stealth-missions thrown into the mix that could've benefitted from non-linear solutions. In fact I think the game needed more stealth missions because I had more fun on those than the actual gun-fight and chase missions (or at least have a stealth optional solution to most missions, I mean I ASSUME the criminal underworld doesn't want this much attention drawn to itself!).
Despite my complaints Mafia 2 is still a worth-while game. It took me about 10 hours to beat which is average for a linear action game. If you love good gangster stories like I do you'll love the narrative of Mafia 2. If you're looking for a more well-polished gaming experience best to save your money.
The game begins with an introduction of the character you will be controlling, Vito. Vito's story begins in Italy as he is part of the US Army forces tasked with invading Sicily. In this level you will get a feel for the gameplay and be introduced to the extremely intricate character that is Vito. Over the next 10-15 hours, you will take part in a story that rivals some of the best mob movies ever made. Vito's story is so compelling that you will find yourself looking forward to the next cutscene. Your friends in the game will really tear at your heartstrings at different moments and you will really feel for the characters.
So, the story is fantastic and hits a homerun, but for most, this isn't enough. Luckily, the gameplay isn't too bad. Shooting is and movement in the game is basically what you would find in any other game out there. If you have played other third person shooters then you will feel right at home with Mafia 2.
The sound is a homerun as well. The sound of the city and characters is extremely well done. Along with the sound, the graphics are top notch in some places. Occasionally you won't be wowed by the graphics but then you will see the city skyline and your jaw will drop. It's a mixed bag but one that is perfectly capable in a game of it's caliber.
The only drawback to the game is the open world. The open world is great, it just feels empty. There's nothing to do but go in some random shops and drive around. You will spend your time in between missions driving to the next story mission and nothing much else.
All in all, Mafia 2 is a great game you should check out if you like a great story in your video games.
Edited to add that the soundtrack is simply amazing. I'm not old enough to remember music from that era so I forget that there were alot of good artists back then.
Editing a second time now that I have finished the game. Wow! The ending comes fast. I wasn't expecting it when it came. I had a feeling the mission I was on might be the final mission the way it was playing out but was still surprised. The fact that there is no free play after the final mission is bad. If you wanted to collect all the collectables in the game you'd better do it before you get sent to the Observatory. There were so many open ended things in this game that they could have expanded on but didn't.
Overall this was a fun game but not worth the $60 paid for it. This was shorter than most EP's/ports for GTA games. I've said that just to give you a reference to how short this game really is. There really is little replay value in this game. Play it once and you're done.

Mafia 2 is a fun 3rd-person action game. It's not a GTA clone nor is it up there with Gears of War or Uncharted as far as shooting and covering go.

Story has often been a minor addition to video games. Recently it has been coming into it's own with some previous and next gen games really pushing the limits of digital storytelling. When you play Mafia 2, you'll realize you have have one example of excellent story telling in a game to tell your friends about.
Honest reviews on Mafia II
I am quite the fan of GTA style games. Not just the storyline but the way the game plays as far as controls etc. This game while somewhat predictable because of who made it, is exactly the kind of game I like. The graphics are fabulous. They have a somewhat dark feel to them without actually being "dark". The missions really fall into being predictable but again, fun. The camera controls are also predictable which is a good thing. I hated Alan Wake for the reason of the camera control being absolute crap, those in this game are what I am use to and gives you the ability to really look around and watch where you're going and what's going on around you.Edited to add that the soundtrack is simply amazing.
Play it once and you're done.

there is a few things i dont like about this game such as the camera when i doors when you walk inside an apartment or sometimes other biulding the camera gets extremely close direclty over the shoulder of the character making it harder on my eyes atleast and harder to see whats around you, also there isnt much of a free mode everytime you end a mission you pretty much start another but i will say this im only on chapter 9 so maybe that changes, and i have the feeling that this game is going to be short and not as long as say GTA 4 which i hope isnt the case but like i said i have the feeling it is. that said the graphics are great and the way the have the story mode set up you see yourself having trouble putting the controller down, i like the fighting sequences in the game and the cars are pretty nice to drive . that said i would say this is a buy if you are into these type of games like i am.Sunday, May 18, 2014
Reviews of Tomb Raider LE Chrome Red: Drop shot, Auto-aim, Jitter Xbox 360
The mods are good! For the ones that actually worked with this iffy controller. Also two buttons would stick after you push it. The left bumper and trigger. Which can get in the way during a shooter like call of duty. Other than that the controller looks awesome (which is the only reason I didn't give it 2 stars) and feels great. However this may be a gamble to buy for all the money that's being chargedthis controller is amazing. It came on time, an extra mod, and it is simple to activate the mods. My best decision to buy this controller.

Gears of War 2 - Xbox 360 Review

To start off, I played the first Gears for the campaign/co-op campaign. And I purchased this game for the same reason, so if you're looking to know more about multiplayer gameplay, check out another review. That said, this game plays very well, very much like a thrill ride for the most part. Story can use a lot more refining and better integration. This gets a 5-star in its own right. But Halo 3 and BioShock are still better games overall than GoW 2.
GAMEPLAY: A+
This game still plays like the first Gears, except with a wider array of weapons and features (ie, chainsaw battles, different modes of executing a downed enemy). This is a third person shooter, for those who have not played the first one. And also, expect a lot of blood and violence, so if you are parents considering this game for your children, this serves as fair warning.
The campaign takes longer to beat this time around (10-20h I think). The graphics are very beautiful and realistic, and a lot more 'vibrant'. The first Gears was in general a very dark and gloomy game. You see a lot more color in this one. Co-op campaign gameplay continues to be addictive and I think a strength in this game. It is still as immersive an experience for all players involved as the first Gears was.
Further, the creators definitely outdid themselves in design of the levels. You should expect to be pleasantly surprised with every single level that comes up. While you can clearly expect to see yourself running around in the streets battling waves after waves of Locust, you will also see another order of magnitude of fighting, with sometimes even as many as 80-100 Locust rushing through your field of view. To emphasize the creativity of the creators, there was also, at various points later in the game (spoiler warning), a section where you had to traverse a pitch-black tunnel to safely escort a vehicle across, and even a level where your squad somehow ends up inside one of the Locust beasts and had to fight your way out...
Overall, this game has been quite an experience. It deserves an A+ and Game of the Year awards.

STORY: B
Given that this game promised to have more leads on the storyline of the series than the first one, it does a better job. A lot of the early story is centered around Dom and him trying to find his wife, amidst all the fighting. The voice acting is compelling for the most part, and you can tell a lot more easily that it's a dark time for humanity on this fictional planet. In the first Gears, playing through the story was mostly humorous because of the way all the guys were joking around in between fight scenes and the light talk that went on. In this Gears, those dialogues are still present, but with a lot more of a sense of urgency mixed in here and there. And cutscenes are well made. The script is definitely that of a cheesy scifi as some of my buddies like to call it.
Finally, instead of COG tags for collection, we have bits and pieces of 'collectibles' like newspaper clippings, ads, so on and so forth that in some cases contribute to the backstory a little bit, kind of like the way those terminals worked in Halo 3. All of these, when found, are put in some scrapbook that's accessible from the Main Menu, and arranged in a more or less logical order.
The reason the story only gets a B+: if you think about games like BioShock and Mass Effect and the Halo series with their very immersive storylines, GoW 2 is still not quite there. But it is closer to that state now than it was previously.
I won't reveal any more in this part, but definitely expect a lot more of a plot that serves as a backdrop to all the fighting that's going on. Epic Games did a good job of piquing your interest and making you want to learn more.

CHARACTERS: B
The characters come across a lot more human in this one. I have mentioned that the mood in this game comes across with a lot more of a sense of urgency to beat the Locust. As you play the game, you begin to feel more and more of a connection with each of the characters and in some cases, almost have to just stop playing when certain characters die... Let's leave it at that.
All that said, the game needs a better scriptwriter if it is to convey a stronger storyline.

REPLAYABILITY: A
With the first game, I recall beating it my first time around with a friend on Hardcore, and then on Insane, and then going around and helping each of my roommates and a good number of friends beat the game on both difficulty settings. The same will probably hold for this game. I think it's a thrilling enough of a ride that I wouldn't mind going over it over and over and over...
---
To sum up, this game is definitely worth the $60.
PROS: This is all about gameplay and the feel of the game. Even on top of all the additional features and improvements, it is still undoubtedly Gears of War. The controls remain very intuitive and easy to learn. It's easily one of the best 3rd person shooters out there, in my opinion.
CONS: I think storyline could have been a lot deeper. I guess they are saving this for Gears of War 3. Violence may be a little too much for the unprepared. Right now, this is all I can think of.
FINAL VERDICT: A. This is a very well-made game. I have the tendency to buy games and sell them back when I'm done. But I think GoW 2 will probably be a mainstay in my library, just as GoW was. For that, plus all the +'s I have mentioned, I think this game deserves an awesome grade. Can I hear Game of the Year?
For those who aren't familiar with the Gears of War franchise, the first Gears of War was a different take on the kind of testosterone-laced, big-budget action gaming genre dominated by the likes of Halo, Call of Duty, and other such shooters. Coming out in 2006, it was in effect the big unveiling of Epic Games' Unreal 3 engine. As opposed to most other shooters, Gears of War eliminated the ability to jump, and instead placed an emphasis on taking cover and third-person gunplay. You followed a group of ridiculously steroid-enhanced, armor-clad soldiers on a planet where humanity is beseiged by a mutated army (the Locust) rising up from the underground as they try to locate a high-tech bomb over the course of a couple of days, and deploy it against the Locust forces. While Gears of War wasn't the first game to use the cover and shoot mechanic (see Killswitch or 007: Everything or Nothing), it did popularize it greatly, and attached glossy production values to the gameplay. The problem was that the game felt more like a tech demo at times, and didn't have the scope of say, the original Halo: Combat Evolved. The game felt somewhat abbreviated, and attempts to provide variety, such as a lone nighttime vehicular section, or avoiding darkened areas where light-sensitive flying swarms attack, felt somewhat undercooked.
Gears of War 2's campaign, on the other hand, feels like a game first, and tech showcase second. Taking a page from the Call of Duty franchise, GOW 2 moves the player through what seems to be a constantly changing series of events, while still keeping the core gameplay concepts intact. To this player, the shifts away from the 3rd person, cover-based firefights are much more smoothly integrated into the game, whether they involve riding shotgun on a huge, mobile drill as it advances through mountainous terrain, driving a tank across an ice-covered lake, or flying a monstrous creature in a surprisingly entertaining rail-shooter segment. Whether fighting it out through delapidated city streets, exploring a snow-covered village, advancing through enormous underground citadels, or attempting to make it out of a creepy, weed-overgrown, Resident Evil-inspired abandoned facility in the middle of a metallic hailstorm, the situations you're placed seem to neither last too short a time, nor overstay their welcome. In fact, only the very ending battle is a letdown, in that it is too easily won. While the somewhat clunky speed you move at takes some getting used to, the game is otherwise smoothly executed, with one notable improvement being the ability to grab still-living enemies and use them as shields. As before, the campaign can be played co-operatively, although this time co-op is more smoothly executed. While the game is as linear as it gets, there's nothing wrong with that here. It's an over-the-top, ridiculous thrill ride, that's not meant to wax poetic on the nature of humanity (although there's one surprisingly effective scene that I won't spoil which stands out from the rest of the overly macho gruntfest that characterizes the story).
A new addition to the franchise is Horde mode, which lets either a lone player (in Training Ground mode) or a team of players try to survive as long as possible against an onslaught of enemies, while racking up points. In many ways, this is like a modern, 3D take on Smash TV, but with more organic settings. The mode was influential enough for Bungie to take notice, and add a similar "Firefight" mode to Halo Reach and Halo 3: ODST. The multiplayer modes, which can be played offline with bots by a single player within the Training Grounds menu, are team-oriented, and include modes such as King of the Hill and Submission (aka "Meatflag").
If there's a negative about the game, it's that it popularized the use of "Day 1" downloadable content; in other words, content that was taken out of the game (in this case, 5 multiplayer/horde maps), and has to be downloaded using a 1-time use code linked to your gamertag. Ostensibly, this is to create an incentive to buy the game new, which is understandable. However, as we've seen, this idea has snowballed out of control once other developers started abusing it. (This overreliance on digital distribution also afflicted the Game of the Year edition, which, unlike the Fallout 3 GOTY edition, doesn't contain the additional content on a disc, but rather requires downloading the new content (around 19 extra maps, also available as the downloadable All Fronts package) using a code.)
That being said, Gears of War 2 epitomizes what a linear game sequel should strive for: provide a fuller, longer campaign, add new gameplay mechanics, refine what works, add new modes, and make all aspects of the game worthwhile and playable for both solo and multiplayer oriented gamers. Sure, it might be laughably gory, and far too "manly" for its own good, but it's a damn good time, and you'll get your money's worth.
GoW2 operates under the same basic principles as the first game: you play as a bulky space marine, using cover-shooter mechanics to carve through waves of enemy monsters. Most shooting is either done "blind" (shooting from behind cover) or popping out and shooting. Like in the first game, there are a few things that separate it from other cover shooters. The first of these is the "active reload" system, where timing your reload properly allows you to do it faster or even improve the damage of your next magazine. The second is melee combat, most famously the "chainsaw bayonets" mounted on the standard assault rifle. However, for the most part GoW2's combat is formulaic, like the first.
There are a few new weapons to spice things up, though. These include a gatling gun (that must be mounted on cover and cranked to fire) and a mortar launcher (good at distances, but less so at close range). The action is intense and fast-paced, but the main issue is that even with varying weapons, you're still basically doing the same cover routine over and over and over. There are a few sequences to break up the monotony, but they don't disguise the fact that the main game is kind of simplistic.
Multiplayer is one of the game's strongest points. There are basically three kinds: cooperative, competitive, and horde mode. Cooperative refers to the ability to play through the campaign with multiple players. It's simplistic, but fun. Competitive refers to the standard set of multiplayer modes deathmatch, capture-the-flag, etc. Horde mode is an expansion of cooperative mode that allows up to five players to try to survive against waves of enemies. It's probably the most interesting mode, and allows for the most strategic options (figuring out where to hole up, setting traps and killzones, etc).
The game's production values are good. It's visually exciting, if a bit repetitive. The guns sound neat, and there's certainly nothing more ominous than the revving of the aforementioned chainsaw-bayonets. Gears of War 2 is most fun as a multiplayer game it's the kind of game where you can get some friends together and play all afternoon. As mentioned, it gets kind of repetitive, but the multiplayer experience is enough to overcome that.
Rating: 8/10.
We purchased this game with our own funds from a game store.
GOOD:
Intuitive cover system, the cover systems (called Stop-n-Pop) works well and is easy to pick up it also makes for a fun realistic gameplay experience.
Great Co-op Gameplay allows two players to go through the entire game from start to end.
Multiplayer Hoard mode allows up to five players to fight up to 50 waves of enemies on the multiplayer-maps using team work.
Intense multiplayer versus action with plenty of different modes to choose from.
Gorgeous graphics which look even better then the first title, and the animation looks better too.
BAD:
The plot is trite and too over the top at times, as well as being confusing.
Vehicle and turret shooting sections are not very fun and can be tedious.
IF IT FITS YOUR TASTE:
A Sci-Fi First third Person Shooter (Camera behind the player) with quick pacing (Although slower gameplay then lets say Halo 3) that has an emphasis on shooting from behind cover and big explosions.
Cover Play's a big role in this game much like it did in the last, similar to that of Mass Effect and
A Team orientated game especially in the multiplayer sections like Hoard mode
This game is not meant for children or the immature; this game is gory/bloody/violent and has many foul words, although you can turn off some of these features.
Co-op, online versus and Hoard mode will keep you playing this game long after you beaten it.
GAME IT'S MOST ASSOCATED TOO:
Gears of War (Xbox 360/PC)
Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
Resident Evil 5 (Xbox 360/PS3)
Dead Space (Xbox 360/PS3)

There's an unfortunate trend in action games nowadays: dividing content in a game so that it favors either fans of single-player gaming or multiplayer gaming (more so towards the latter in many high-profile franchises), but rarely letting fans of both feel like they're getting the most out of the whole experience. Often, the multiplayer experience is useless to those who are offline, or is just not that enjoyable for those who don't have the time or lack of interruptions to go through a series of matches without being seen as a quitter or bad team-mate. The good news is that Gears of War 2 is not one of those games; in fact, each of the 3 core experiences (Campaign, Multiplayer, and Horde Mode) can be enjoyed to some extent either alone or with other players. Sure, a botmatch will never really have the same level of excitement as an online match against real people, but it still beats not being able to get any enjoyment out of the multiplayer part of the game. For those who aren't familiar with the Gears of War franchise, the first Gears of War was a different take on the kind of testosterone-laced, big-budget action gaming genre dominated by the likes of Halo, Call of Duty, and other such shooters. The prototypical third-person cover shooter, "Gears of War 2" is a solid rush of now-standard gameplay conventions and action movie dialogue.

Honest reviews on Gears of War 2 - Xbox 360
Gears of War 2 Circa 2008GOOD:

When I played the first Gears of War I was a little in awe because of how different it was, how great it looked and how well it played. Gears of War 2 is still different than other games, still looks great and still plays well. However, I noticed that there was one thing missing: fun. I just wasn't having any fun playing this game. All the things that wowed me in the first game were still there, but they didn't make the game fun. I'm sure for many people this will be an awesome game and they will love every minute of it, but for me it was pretty to look at, but not something I will re-visit multiple times.Wednesday, March 26, 2014

I did not have any issues downloading and starting up the game on my MacBook. The download its self did not take any longer than about 20 minutes. The new additions to the game make it more fun and more like the Sims 2. The issue I noticed on my computer at least is that when playing in the city Bridgeport everything seems to move slow. The apartments all only have 1 bedroom in them and I do not think that you can add more unless you can make room. I think you can't add walls. Thats a problem to me, because I wanted to move in a family of 3 into one of the apartments. Overall it seems like a pretty fun game and it has added lots of new things, I would recommend this Mac Download.
Star RatingsThe whole point of Late Night is to bring your zero stars up to a five star so you can become a celebrity. Once you are at five stars you are now the highest ranking celebrity. You can get into any bar or club, you are also privy to exclusive giveaways that are randomly gifted to you just for being so magnificent, and you will be worshipped and asked for photos whenever you leave the house.
Also, the paparazzi will stand out on your lawn, every two to three hours you will have a false rumor spread about you that will bring your Sim's mood down for 3 days until or unless you sue the media or pay them off, and you will be invited to parties every night.
To gain stardom you must complete tasks like befriending a celebrity, dancing at a particular bar, or, depending on your vocation, some job-related feat that takes away from time you could be doing something else. Also, if you have kids the children gain stars/celeb points by virtue of birth/acquaintance with Mom or Dad.
Clubs/BarsUnless you populate your world with lots of sims--by which I mean create Sims and put them into apartments--there will be only three people at the club when you show up. You, the bouncer, and the bartender(mixologist). If the club is a Hotspot, you may be lucky enough to have a least two or three people in attendance. What is a club or bar without patrons? Pretty freaking boring, that's what. At the bars you can order drinks or 'bar food' and you can also converse with the mixologist or dance. (Also with enough skill you can moonlight as a mixologist, but your only customer will probably be the mixologist you're covering for.)
Vampires--Meeting a vampire is relatively easy. You'll want to hang around the ritzy Plasma 101 (I think its called for obvious reasons). Vampires hang in or around it all the time. Unless your Sim is imbued with the brave trait any time a vampire comes into proximity with your Sim they will have a little 'hunted' symbol show up in the moods box. You must befriend a vampire before they will offer to turn you or you can ask to be turned. Becoming a vamp takes approx 3 days. Good: Super-speed, no fatigue no matter how much your vamp works out and best of all the rapid ability to accumulate skills. A vamp can master an instrument or skill overnight. Bad: If you want to master the gardening skill you'd be better off with a human. Vamps are very limited in their outdoor time as night is only so long. The sun becomes an enemy for any outdoor task. (edit: Vampires life span about 300-400+) days before aging after they reach young adulthood).
Clothes: Showtimes clothes were actually better. The new outfits you'll receive are not really worth it. Buying some points on the main site and going shopping for things 'you' like would probably be more profitable in the long run.
Traits: I think there are about 3 or 4 new traits. Seriously they should expand the number of traits available. All of them get old pretty quickly.
Apartments: Horribly small, limited design with time-consuming entry. You cannot build anything in an apartment building. Most of the apartments are 1br, 1bth. You can live in a house on the outskirts of the city but land is limited and hilly and most of the houses are nothing like the ones in the original Sims.
Butler: Is a new feature. You can hire a butler for something like 1000+ daily. I only did so once so I can't remember the exact price. You'll have to provide a bed for him/her. I advise you to do so only after you've mastered the cooking skill if so desired. When the butler cooks there is no need for you to.
Extras: Furniture: Horribly lacking. Cars: A big joke. Hair: The worse in Hollywood.
In summarization the only things worth two cents in this game are the vampires and even they have their limitations. Wait til the price lowers a bit more--of course that could happen when Sims 4 comes out but you aren't missing much.

After reading all the dubious and not-so-dubious reviews about this download working or not I decided to give it a try. I didn't have any problem downloading. However, once installed it proved incompatible with my current version of Sims and Sims Showtime. I had to delete both and re-install Sims 3 in order for everything to work. I have not yet reinstalled Showtime for fear that it will glitch again. I've had Late Night for a few weeks now and I can tell you that, no, it is not worth the price. Aside from the cool aspect of being a vampire Late Night's other features prove annoying and time consuming.Star RatingsThe whole point of Late Night is to bring your zero stars up to a five star so you can become a celebrity. Honest reviews on The Sims 3: Late Night - Expansion Pack
So the game adds a ton of awesome things as everyone has said. There's no question there. I was worried when I got this because many reviews said that it did not work for them at all. Luckily it did for me and I was loving it, the game ran smoothly and it was fine. Until I started to use bridgeport as the town. Everything takes a ridiculous amount of time. CAS works fine, but it's really just the gameplay that suffers. Which sucks. But basically, it took about 3 hours (sim time) for my sim to go from inside his apartment to outside and about 4 more to get them anywhere in town. It's not that the game freezes or anything, the sim just stands there and doesn't do anything. Also sometimes during buy mode, when I try to place furniture the mouse freezes and the only way I can move the furniture is by pressing the arrows to move the view around. It's strange. Otherwise the game is great.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for The Sims 3: Late Night - Expansion Pack
This is a good expansion if you are a Sims player. I had no problem downloading and installing it into my game. I am a mac user, so it was good to find an easy download for macs.
