I say don't use the disc but it has been a year and maybe the person who sells this will update the disc but usually that is not their job. The drivers that come with it don't work right with win7/8. And installing it the way the utube vid won't mess anything up. Just follow his instructions exactly.

I got lucky when I showed up to country because the guy that lived in the CHU before me left his xbox 360. The catch? He burned out the power supply by plugging it straight into a 220v...ouch! Ordered this baby, got a power converter, and from there it was plug and play. Product works great, its basically the same one that originally comes with the 360's. No hiccups as of yet and I've had it for a couple of days. If you need a new power supply, I recommend this one for sure.

It works. Don't spend $40, $50 or how ever much Gamestop wants to charge you. If you know the type of Xbox power brick you need, buy it for less on Amazon or thru the web. I got this power supply for a free Xbox 360 my friend gave me(he bought another one and told me that I could have this one which was only missing a power supply). I didn't want to pay $40 at Gamestop and didn't want to order it thru Microsoft. I realized I need the 203W version and saw this product on Amazon. It arrived early and the Xbox works perfectly. What else do you need. I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase.

This thing is solid. It's like someone sawed off a piece of the arcade machine and gave it to you. Even though you pay for it, it still feels like someone gave it to you. And it feels exactly like the arcade. You'll never have to play with some crummy d-pad and weird button config again. It works with MK9 and the original trilogy which is included with this Klassic version of the stick. I can't vouch for it working with any other MK games, but let's face it, if you're like me and interested in the Arcade Kollection, you probably don't care about the other MK games.

While the hardware is EXCELLENT (Shang Tsung claps enthusiastically in the background) the Klassic stick unfortunately lacks the hinged opening case which was a great feature of the MK9 stick; which opens for storage and access to the inner workings for repair purposes (yes I've already had to replace one HAPP switch on my MK9 stick and opted to replace the A, B, X, and Y buttons with their respective colors to make training on Xbox a little easier to learn) so I tend to use this one less often than the MK9 stick because I want to keep it running nicely since repairs won't be quite as easy.

My only complaints are minor, and in regards to the software, so Ed Boon, if you're listening, please take note...

First of all there are a few glitches that some may try to argue were in the original game, but I am positive they were not. The awesome Goro music in MK1 cuts off after a few bars and you're left to fight the monster in anticlimactic silence. There's also some weird echoing of the fanfare on the Vs. screen in MK2. There are probably a few others, but these are the most noticeable so far...

The button config could have been a little easier to use, namely that RB should have been the "start" button because that tiny xbox start button is impossible to find in the heat of battle when Dan Forden pops out and says "toasty" on the Portal stage in MK2 and you're trying to hit start so you can fight Smoke. The RB button is in the right place for where the start button was on the arcade console, and would have been a much more natural placement for arcade fans who know by feel where the start button should be for Random Select. Clearly the software was designed with only the standard xbox controller in mind, and therefore favors people who casually dropped a mere 10 bucks for a cheap game download, and slights hardcore fans who lovingly spent $130 (original price) for the full Mortal Kombat Arcade experience. How hard would it have been to add a different control preset?

And personally, I would have loved the option to play regular MK3 and not just the George Lucasized Ultimate MK3.

Anyway, the game has some bugs but is still playable, and unfortunately since the video game industry is so screwed up, they probably will never be patched.

But obviously it's the hardware that's of interest here, and it's definitely worth getting. Xbox controllers work on PCs, so even if you don't have an Xbox, get one to play MK on your computer!

I was excited to get this game since I loved the first Mech Assault so much, but single player mode does not live up to its predecessor. The boss fights, which were non-existant in Mech Assault, were pretty cool, and very difficult. The game play overall was harder, and especially the mortar. When you are in battle suit mode, you have a shoulder-mounted heavy mortar that is very difficult to aim, and in the final boss fight, you need to aim precisely with it.

Apparently this game really shines in when you are playing with other people online. There are not one, but TWO multiplayer modes. Unfortunately, I cannot get onto XBox live with a V1 X-Box, so I did not get to enjoy the multiplayer modes.

MechAssault 2 Lone Wolf brings us yet another game of fun robot driving. You get a wide range of robots, as well as a few types of gameplay.

The graphics are reather nice from the large explosions to the lightning-zaps of your weapons. You stomp around, gathering up supplies, blowing up everything that is around you.

However, where the previous game trapped you in your robotic shell, now you can climb out and get into other vehicles and tanks. You can lay down bombs to take out your enemies. This might seem like a cool feature but it usually ends up with your frail human skeleton being squashed like a bug.

You can go online for traditional deathmatch battle, as well as a team MMORPG type of environment where you can go for more long term goals.

I have mixed emotions about the "expansion" from traditional mech gameplay. I understand that they're trying to give people more options, but the game really is quite unforgiving to you when you're out of your metal shell.

Luckily, they don't make you do that TOO often, and if you can just grit and bear it through those parts, the rest of the game really does reward with a lot of destructions and stamping around through a variety of landscapes.

Still, I would really love for MechAssault 3 to focus more on the large mech battles, and perhaps just provide a stronger plot line, better voice acting, and a truly immersive mech world. That would be my Mech Dream.

I bought this game because I heard great things about the original mechassault. i didnt buy the original because it doesnt work on the xbox 360. i have played the first before and i think that the first is way better than the second. In the first game, you could choose your mech before the mission. in the second you either start in a mech that you didnt choose, in some new battle armor that is almost useless against other mechs (besides a new hijacking feature that i'll get to later), or as a human. The part were you get to walk around as a human might sound coll but you are VERY weak and you walk around in a lot of missions. it get very annoying and kind of ruins some of the gameplay. you can also drive tanks but they cant do much against other mechs, only other tanks and helicopters. the battle armor is also annoying, it is also pretty weak and the only real thing you can do is hijack(they call it neurohack in the game) what you do is latch on to a mech and a little icon pops up telling you to press certain buttons. if can press all the buttons i tells you the mech falls over and you can get into it. IF you dont die before geting to the mech and it doesnt turn on sheilds. the multiplayer is really fun. i havent played on xbox live but on a local console. if you play team destruction(two teams fight against each other to get points) or any other team game you can get in VTOLS. if you dont know what VTOL stands for its like a hover craft ship thing. at each base there is a landing pad. there you can choose upgrades to drop off to your friends, upgrades for your VTOL and bombs. bombs are devastating against other mechs they can really help out your friends. over all it is a pretty good game. i gave it 4 stars because the campaign is fun but not great. if your buying it for xbox live i want you to know nobody plays it anymore. i know the other reviews say it is really fun on xbox live but you wont be able to play in with other people online. so dont buy it for the online multiplayer

The Rock Band Triple Guitar Stand is PERFECT for Guitar Hero and Rock Band guitars!! It doesn't take up much room, is easy to assemble and is a nice addition to the room. I was happy this tree could hold 3 guitars since that's how many I have now. I'm guessing it was designed this way for stability and it worked. The hooks and guitar rests are nicely padded; no worries over your guitars getting scratched. The stand also fits very nicely in tight spaces. This is a very useful product if you're looking for a way to protect your guitars from damage and get them out of the way when they're not being used.

Purchased this guitar stand along with the Dreamcast Warbeast guitar controller. I already have two RB2 strats in my collection and adding the Warbeast made this guitar stand a necessity.

The stand itself is built well and looks to be a quality product. Good weight makes mounting 1, 2, or 3 guitars possible with no worries of tipping over. Because the height is adjustable, the Warbeast fits perfectly... so don't hesitate buying if you are worried it is too short for this full-sized replica guitar controller. I'll post pics soon!

Wow what a difference, no more guitars leaning against the wall on top of each other. The Rock Band Triple Tree Guitar Stand can securely and safely hold up to 3 guitars without worrying about scratching or damaging them. The guitar's neck hangs off soft padded hooks and the backs are kept away from the stand by another padded bar that rests against the back of the guitar. Since the stand's height can be easily adjusted, this can be used with different gaming guitars. I personally use it for the Guitar Hero gaming system.

Made of heavy duty metal, it will securely stay in place without any worries of it tipping over. Much better "eye pleaser" to see the guitars nicely hanging on the stand than just laying around. Great buy!

When Borderlands was released back in 2009, it surprised everyone with it's unique hybrid of shooting and role playing. Borderlands was definitely unique, and personally, I thought it was the first true RPG/FPS hybrid. Sure, there were games like System Shock 2 beforehand, but SS2 isn't so much a shooter as it is an action role playing survival horror hybrid, and from a FPS standpoint, it's actually horribly repetitive and clunky. But Borderlands combined Diablo-style looting and frantic FPS combat, all the while providing for some of the most intense and satisfying gun play in a shooter. Borderlands was definitely a breath of fresh air in the FPS market, and it's a darn shame we don't have more games in the genre like it. Now, Borderlands is back with this top notch sequel, and the series is better than ever.

I won't say too much about the single player experience, but given the amount of missions available, it seems Borderlands 2 will provide a lengthy, satisfying experience. I'm not finished with the game yet, but I can tell that it isn't going to end any time soon. People who have beaten it already have said the game will take around 30 hours to complete, so single player fans will be satisfied. From what I gather, numerous reviewers are saying that you will want to play through the entire game more than once (!) as well, thanks in part to it's diverse skill classes. Even better, Borderlands 2 now let's you play the entire game with all of your stats in tow, so expect some heady replay value for single player.

As we all know, the story for Borderlands was extremely forgettable. That's not to say the single player campaign didn't have merit, it most certainly did. The art design was nice, Pandora was occasionally a vivid location, and some of the encounters you faced made for some memorable gaming moments. That said, the characters were extremely forgettable (aside from the awesome Claptrap), and the plot line was about as memorable as watching a modern artist craft a generic sculpture out of toilet roll tubes. Borderlands 2, on the other hand, actually had me invested with it's sharp writing and quirky sense of humor, and some of the people you meet in the game will have you reeling with startling surprise. It's mission structure is so far interesting, and the encounters so far have all been memorable. I won't spoil too much, but let me just say that the creatures here will provide you with a sense of being; you will see them as creatures of fiction, not cannon fodder.

Perhaps the biggest part of the game's success as a story is the vivid recreation of Pandora. Video Game developers know that building a world is one of the best ways to tell a story, especially in a First Person Game (just look at Half-Life). It's easily one of the video game medium's biggest strengths, and Borderlands 2 knows this. Borderlands 2 is a great space western experience, with a mood that recalls a comic book if it were hijacked by space western writers. Of course, the famous Borderlands 2 art style is back, and it provides for an awesome artistic foundation for Borderlands 2's vivid recreation of Pandora. And Pandora is beautiful! Borderlands 2 won me over with it's cell shaded, mood setting skies (Yes. Skies), glistening tundras, jagged mountains, colorful vivid industrial areas, and other locations. It's better looking than anything such garbage as "photo-realism" ever will be able to achieve. You see, folks (*cough* as well as certain 2K executive *cough*)? This is what happens when you get away from "realism"! An antidote to the lifeless drudgery of puke browns and vapid grays; the overall dreary, narcolepsy inducing experience. Thanks for this, Borderlands 2 is more of a beaut than Battlefield 3 will ever be.

The Sound track is also very beautiful. The soundtrack truly makes the space western mood they were going for. Great sound effects and voice acting follow suit.

Now, to game play. The basic game play concepts remain the same. Choose a skill class, start building your character and then loot n' gain (experience points, that is)! With loot and experience points, you have the potential to help yourself to a seemingly endless number of play styles, equipment and, of course, guns. Loads upon loads of guns. If you are familiar with the original (and you should be), you will know that the basic core intents of the game play remain the same. However, what Borderlands 2 offers new is what we all want to know. Does it offer something new? Is this Borderlands 2 or Borderlands 1.5? This is Borderlands 2. And aside from it's vastly superior story and setting, Borderlands 2 adds great game play additions that pushes the series forward, and leaves the first game in the dust.

The biggest addition to Borderlands 2 is the revamped skill classes. Character builds are deeper than ever, and much more rewarding than before. Since this is one of the biggest pros of Borderlands 2, it's nice to say that the is better than ever. The biggest change here is that each skill tree feels way more diverse, something the original was lacking. As you pick from four different skill classes, you can use each class to your advantage. Each class has it's own unique abilities, such as Zero's invisible stealth, the Salvador's ability to dual-wield anything, the Axion's ability to use turrets, and Maya's ability to freeze. Beyond the leveling up of your special abilities, the skill trees you build are diverse and the skills you invest in add a much better sense of personal, much more satisfying combat that suits you well. You can add all sorts of abilities, from more helpful defensive skills to offensive based powers like a Borderlands 2 has some real depth to your play style, and it's combination of great combat and true RPG elements makes for a truly great RPG and shooting hyrbid. All of this is aided by a much improved interface that makes the game more playable than before.

As you defeat enemies, you can upgrade the powers of the class, which is rewarded through looting and the gaining of experience points. Bad *cool* points make for some great bonuses, as they augment most other powers rather well. Most importantly, Borderlands 2 rewards you with guns and the ability to use an endless number of weapons, and it's addictive and rewarding as ever. You all know the drill, and it's even better than the first game. The ability to customize EVERYTHING (yes, all caps for a reason), from common features like re-load, to giving your own gun acid, makes sure that you can get creative with whatever gun you want to make. I'm not quite there making the ultimate gun that puts the BFG to shame, but according to what I've heard, anything is possible, including such crazy weapons as a pistol with ammo that doubles as a grenade dispenser, and I'm pretty sure that's not as crazy as it gets. Borderlands 2 proves that you can never have enough weapons, and they ensure that you will never feel empty-handed. Superior AI and a diverse range of enemies round out the experience.

All of this translates to the multi-player extremely well. Borderlands 2 offers four-player co-op, and it succeeds thanks in part to the great game mechanics. Using each character class, you can truly uses each one to their strengths to help out each team mate, in a way that sort of reminds me of Team Fortress 2. One can really get creative if you mix things up and assign certain levels, and since enemies get tougher as you play the game, it becomes vital and more challenging as you go along. Aided by it's diverse abilities, each skill class truly can add something unique to every play through, making for some rewarding and challenging combat that has the potential to be unique for every band of four. Like a good RPG should do, you can actually join in anytime, which makes the game even better so you don't have to commit to a whole game together. It makes game play extremely flexible, and it makes for some of the most accessible and playable multi-player experiences I've played in quite a while.

I do have a few, eh, issues, however. There are some minor graphics hitches here and there, but as long as you don't give all bent out of shape over some pop in textures or the occasional weird visual hiccup, you shouldn't have much trouble over looking this, uh, issue? You still can't really change the appearance of your character as much, which isn't that big a loss but definitely can be a tad disappointing if you really enjoy customizing your character. Oh, and car combat is mostly underused, as you won't find either a glut of vehicle based missions, or some fun car combat a la Rage. Thankfully, most of these niggling issues are minor.

Other than that, this game is just terrific. I don't know much else to say here, but if you are a fan of Borderlands, this is not just a mere revision, it's a whole new great game. Personally, I really don't find myself every playing the original Borderlands ever again, and it's definitely a stand out in the cluttered FPS genre that exists today. It's got humor, it's got replay value, it's got role-playing, it's got terrific gun play, and it's got enough things to do to keep you hooked for days. Needless to say, if you like Borderlands, you want this one. Easily. Go get it.

The first question people will likely ask is, "Does this game live up to the high water mark hit by BL1 and DLC?" and that answer is a resounding "Yes!"

The second question asked, "Is it better than BL1?" and the answer is "Yes...for the most part."

So what's improved?

Better gun mechanics (sound, feel and diversity), more humor, more frequent boss and sub-boss battles, easier to get a co-op game going and see who's online playing, character skill trees are improved (more focused on your play style than there being clearly better skills to pursue), friends can select quests in co-op games rather than having to tell the "party leader" to do it, grenades are much more useful with some nice variety, the new enemies are well designed (not only are there more, but a few can do things like level up or heal other bad guys), you can now dismember baddies, you can now tag items in your inventory as "trash" or "favorite" so you remember what to sell next time at the vending machine, you can now directly trade with people, you automatically pick up money and ammo (but thankfully not loot), combat is more organic (enemies take cover, flank you, dodge attacks), there are tons of missions (took me 40+ hours to finish the game having completed all but a couple side quests) and perhaps my favorite improvement, you can now move around while in "Fight For Your Life" mode meaning you'll no longer die while stuck behind cover. Also of note, single player is much more enjoyable this time around. There's less down time, more dialogue and the enemies/environments allow for better individual strategy.

So what are the negatives?

The new menus are clunky and difficult to parse (everything is on a slight angle making it tough to read and navigate), while missions have more dialogue and humor they still consist of mostly "shoot that" or "find this" objectives, driving mechanics are about the same (though thankfully you don't take damage from hitting enemies as much), while you can set a waypoint on the map your co-op buddies can't see the same waypoint and sometimes there's simply too much dialogue happening simultaneously. For example if you're playing co-op the first big town you get to is a total cluster as multiple characters are introducing themselves at the same time, or enemy dialog and gunfine easily drowns out character/story related dialogue. This is sometimes incredibly frustrating since you feel like you're missing out on a crucial plot detail or funny quip. Also, for about the first 12-15 hours the environments are a little too similar, but that changes as you continue to progress through the game. That said, these are only minor complaints and the additions far outweigh the handful of small issues.

Recommendation?

If you loved the first BL you'll love this one! The game does start a little slow, but once you get going its clear this game is superior to BL1 in most regards. If you flat out didn't enjoy the first game I'm not sure you'd enjoy the sequel, but if you've been on the fence there's enough improvement in details, mechanics, humor, enemy diversity and feel to both single & multiplayer modes to warrant a second look.

If Quentin Tarantino made a Spaguetti Western, post-apocalyptic-esque video game, this would be it. I can't believe how much fun this game actually is. Even if you're like me and didn't play the first Borderlands, don't pass this one up so quickly. Where do I start?

GAMEPLAY: if you aren't familiar with BL, the best way to explain this is to take the addicting looting system of Diablo and combine it with the basic elements of an FPS, throwing in some RPG via an inventory and skill tree. That's essentially the mechanics of the game, and it all slams together so well here. You have four basic classes to choose to play from, and each class has three paths to focus on in a skill tree -this means there's plenty of variation to play. In addition to these basic mechanics, the game is open-world, though it may feel semi-linear as you can only explore on an area-by-area basis (think the opposite of an Elder Scrolls game, where you can walk around the entire map without hitting a loading screen until accessing a dungeon). I have to say, with combining so many of our favorite gaming formulas, this game has so many highlights. Sometimes I felt like I was playing something akin to Skyrim. Other times, the ambiance of a specific area or the design of a specific feature reminded me of BioShock. And sometimes certain things brought me back to my Fallout 3 days. However, I never forgot I was playing a completely new adventure that easily whisked me away for hours in the unique and captivating world of Pandora. Lastly, I can't forget the guns. No joke, there are millions of guns you can find. It is so satisfying to find a ridiculous weapon and destroy enemies for the next three hours with it, only to find another weapon that is even better.

SETTING: Speaking of Pandora, it really is a fascinating world. Having a post-apocalyptic feeling yet retaining a notes of being futuristic, there are so many different areas to access. Sometimes you'll be exploring an underground cave full of chemicals. At other times, you'll be questing in a town that feels like it belongs in the Wild West after a nuclear fallout. It's crazy, and I doubt you'll be bored quickly.

STORY: one thing many BL veterans mentioned is the lack of a good narrative beyond funny one-liners in the original game. Like I said I never played Borderlands 1, but I can tell you that in BL 2 the characters are memorable, the writing is well-thought out and downright hilarious, and the story moves at a great pace with scenes of great emotion and other scenes of great sarcasm. This is all coming from a guy who is used to epic stories from Final Fantasy or Mass Effect. Also, be sure to keep your ears peeled while you fight the various enemies. They say and do some hilarious things themselves. But seriously, the writing is just super clever. I mean, what other game has a quest called, "Rocko's Modern Strife"? Classic!

REPLAYABILITY: with the various classes and varying skill trees, there is already plenty of incentive to reboot a new game or two... Or three. However, in addition to these, once you beat the game you open up more challenging modes that guarantee both tougher enemies and significantly better loot. Also, there are a healthy amount of side quests in here to help you clock in the hours that make AAA games a great bang for your buck. If you're a completionist like me, you'll probably spend 50+ hours on your first playthrough. No joke. Or, you can try a different character, pump through the story to get to the better game modes, then spend all your hours doing the side quests and finding the best loot. There are so many possibilities!

One note -definitely not a game for kids. The gratuitous gore would scar small children, and the extremely crass sense of humor means it's not a good idea to give this to a kid/teen who probably wouldn't understand half the jokes anyway. Just saying, parents, be smart and know what your kids are playing!

In conclusion, this is one heck of a game. I feel that it combines the best of so many game genres into a single FPS while adding in a memorable story that motivates you to find out what happens next. Of course, you'll be laughing your face off the entire way.

I'm sorry to admit that I never played the first part of the series, but I have considered trying it out on the hopes that it's even half as good as Borderlands 2. This game stands pretty solidly on two the most important pillars of game development (that cover just about everything else): strong game play and a great story.

First, the game play. It's exactly what they promised (the hyperbole of "870 Gazillion more guns" not withstanding). I spent a great amount of time just experimenting with the different guns and grenades I found throughout my adventure. Additionally, as you progress, you actually feel like you are learning more about the world around you, either from testing for weak spots in your opponents and the environment or by watching the humorous (yet informative) loading screens. Note: I love when I don't hate the loading screens of game; if I'm forced to sit through tons of them, at least make them good please. An important thing to note, however, is that this is a game meant for multiple people running around and causing havoc, as opposed to a loner (like me). You can still have fun by yourself, but you'll might get a bit more out of it you bring a friend. There were a few minor bugs that can force you to restart (and a few that will make you rich beyond your wildest dreams -in game of course -if you feel like exploiting the game) as well as the annoying caveat that cause you to be referred to as a guy regardless of the gender of your character (only really a problem if you're using one of the two female characters), but I can't think of any real game play reasons not to play the game. 5/5

Second, the story. I like Anthony Burch (and not because we almost have the same name). His term as the lead writer on this project only secures my interest in Gearbox and his own work all the more. By the end of each chapter, you may find that your view of the antagonist changes a bit (or a lot) or it may not change at all, but if you like a good story and more than a few good surprises, you'll like this game. I don't want to spoil too much though, since I want others to experience this great story first hand. The game was very story driven, which is good, but if all you care about is the guns you may miss out on some good humor, so keep your eyes and ears open. Also: "References!" 5/5

Overall, I would recommended this game to all who are old enough to buy it themselves (17+ only please; no kids and immature people allowed due to the immature humor at times that should ironically be kept away from the immature). There were some things I found personally offensive due to my beliefs, but it's a fictional world anyways, so I can get over it for the most part. Between the game play and the story, one of them will draw you in and the other one will keep you there. Make sure you pace yourself though; there's plenty of great stuff you might miss if you rush yourself and even with the DLC coming out in the future (some of which is already out), your definitely going to want to something to do until Borderlands 3. 5/5

I played BL1 and all its expansions. BL2 improves the franchise making small tweeks. This may be the #1 game that I have played on Xbox. Just finished up 150+ hours of Skyrim and I think BL2 blows it away in terms of shear fun and enjoyment.

Okay, Okay, I'll admit it; I was reconsidering the wisdom of my Xbox purchase. I watched GTA3 (and played it), and shook my head, saying "why not us?" Well hallelujah, we've been saved!

If you've ever played a pen-and-paper RPG, you'll have an inkling about the possibilities in this game. Your character can be whomever, whatever, however you'd like him/her to be. There are four human races alone, as well as a feline race, a reptilian race, orc, and three elven races. There are dozens of character classes, including BattleMage, Assassin, Monk, Rogue, Scout, Barbarian, and Witchhunter, and a bunch more; but the best part is that you can create your OWN custom character class with its own assorted disciplines! There are also a ton of possibilities for the appearance of each gender of each race.

Once your character has been designed and you get out of the Customs Office, you are immersed in a HUGE, complex world of alliances, rivalries, and politics. You can join a number of different organizations and affiliations, make friends or enemies everywhere.

The fighting in this game is cool, easy when you're fighting single little creatures like cave rats, but challenging when you're fighting talented folks in armor while trying to cast spells and read scrolls while hacking, slashing, and blocking. And multiple humanoid enemies in armor will realistically kick your butt, unless you've been around a long time and improved your fighting abilities.

This is perhaps the best thing about this game; your advancement is not based on "XP", some accumulation of wealth and creatures killed. It is realistic; the more you practice something, the better you get at it. If you spend all of your time hacking at creatures in the wilderness, your Strength and Agility attributes and your weapon skill (ShortBlade, Axe, Long Blade, etc.) will benefit, but your Intelligence, & Personality attributes and Mercantile, Speechcraft, Security skills etc. will stay where they are. Also, your advancement in levels is customized to your character class: each class has its own mix of emphasis amongst the skills, declaring some Major, some Minor, and some Miscellaneous.

The graphics in this game are phenomenal (mostly--the faces are somewhat blocky). Trees, hills, items, and rooms look great; weather effects are fantastic. The effect most folks will appreciate, however, is the water. The water in this game looks so darn real that it's almost UNDERwhelming. You look at it and say "well, I've seen that before." The catch is, the place you've seen it before is REAL LIFE! It's amazing, and that BEFORE rain starts to fall. Oh, the sounds are cool, too -I hope you're not afraid of thunder!

This is defnitely the MOST complex and MOST open-ended game I've ever heard, seen, read about, or played. I don't mean to sound like a job interview, but it's only weakness is that it's SO open-ended. Players will find themselves accepting quest after quest before they finish their first few, and trying to flip through the character's journal to remember who wanted what! Another way this game is like life.

Go get this game, you'll never see the light of day again. lol

The character creation system is one of the first things you will encounter in Morrowind, and it gives a glimpse at how open-ended and complex a game this is. Be sure to take time creating a character, because this character will be with you for hundreds of hours.

In my first attempt, I used one of the pre-packaged character classes. While this gave me a good base character, the problem was that I had a very specific idea of how I wanted to play this game, and the character that I'd created didn't perfectly fit this style of play. As a result, even in the beginning, the game was extremely difficult, and frustrating. Advancing levels was slow, combat was overly challenging, and I spent a good deal of time staring at loading screens rather than playing the game.

After reading a little about the character abilities and descriptions, I realized that I was missing certain features that I would need, to play the game the way I had intended (as a Rogue-Mage). By starting over again, I was able to use the knowledge I'd gained to create a new, better-suited character. The game changed dramatically.

With this new character, levelling up was easier, I could do all the things that I wanted to do, and see the character improving at them. This changed the dynamics of the game completely. I could now explore this huge world with less fear of constant death, I could advance in the guilds I'd chosen to join, because my abilities were better suited.

While Morrowind has some in-game problems (framerate jitters, an abundance of "fetch" quests), by far the biggest problem is the lack of documentation, and a lack of direction for novice players. If you know what you're getting into is a huge, open-ended role playing game, in which you can do virtually anything, from slaughter entire villages, to spend all day making healing potions, or bribing the local townsfolk, then Morrowind will *definitely* satisfy.

But be sure this is what you want, or you'll quickly find yourself in over your head.

Well, what can be said about successor of Daggerfall, except that you should be prepared to spend another couple of hundred hours with the game no, I'm not kidding. Morrowind is significantly smaller than Daggerfall, but huge in it's own way. An island with couple of dozen villages and cities, hundreds of "personas" to talk with, unseen diversity of items, quests and side-quests (tamper one foxy noble lady with a local robber and they'll offer you to get married with most beautifull...well, she was not my race, so... :-) all this makes a cocktail which is now best Computer Role Playing Game ever. Only, but only remark goes to possiblity of getting trapped in some parts of the map like poles on bridges and so...so save regulary.

P.S. Also, be noted that the game is not easy but when you got the hand at it....

P.P.S. Morrowind is getting some 96% in my review, which makes TES3 highest scoring game which I reviewed.

..and it's pretty early to tell, but it looks right now like a real winner. So far, I have built my character, wandered through two towns, received some instructions from some friends, joined a guild, helped a lady clear some cave rats out of her storeroom and presently I'm trying to catch some egg poachers.

The minds behind this game have undeniably done a great job of creating this game world. It is absolutely all-inclusive. The Xbox controller is used very well. Movement and camera feel like Halo when you are in first person. I prefer first person because I'm so used to the Halo control scheme. You can make the camera look at yourself if you want to admire a new piece of armor you've bought.

The graphics look real good, but not great. The human animation seems choppy and not motion captured. Creature animation looks fine though.

The combat system looks to be on the weak side with one attack button and no way to replenish health without leaving the fight and accessing the menu system. Would have been better if the Y button could trigger healing potions as well as spells.

Overall, the game looks to have a lot of promise with enormous amounts of nonlinear play and a ton of travel. A hard copy map of the island comes with the game and just looking at all the cities and points of interest is daunting.

People more used to the japanese Final Fantasy RPGs where you have groups doing turn based combat may find this a very different flavor of RPG.

This sort of RPG is much deeper, more challenging and maybe...more satisfying.

Before I get into my thoughts on the Blu-Link remote, I'll start by saying that I've purchased and returned two Logitech Harmony universal remotes. The Harmony Xbox 360 remote and the almighty Harmony One to be precise. These are the only products I've ever returned on Amazon.com. They were nice enough remotes to look at, and the computerized setup was convenient. I just couldn't get past the delay in button presses. No matter how you set the inter-device or inter-key delay for the remote, there is a noticeable delay between pressing a button and seeing the result. (For example: Holding down the volume button for an A/V receiver for a few seconds would result in about 3-4 extra commands after you let go of the button. Annoying) I am far from the only user to be bothered by this, as a quick Google search can yield innumerable results on the topic.

The Blu-Link remote doesn't have a computerized setup, a display, or a charging station. I give it 5 stars nonetheless. It does what it's supposed to do, and does it at a reasonable price. Using the supplied codes, I had my PS3, Samsung TV, Onkyo A/V receiver, and DirecTV HD-DVR up and running MOST of the way within a couple of minutes. I then spent 5, count 'em, 5 minutes using the remote's "learning" feature to fill in the remaining functionality. Notably, I ran into the same problem that another reviewer had with my A/V receiver, in that it would power it on, but not off. Teaching the Blu-Link the Onkyo remote's power code directly alleviated this problem. Various other commands were learned from my old Onkyo remote, but the DVR and TV were good to go using only the supplied codes. The volume master feature works as it should, sending all volume commands to the AUX input, the Onkyo receiver. The manual also explains how to set up a master volume device, but to also be able to control the TV's volume when you're on the TV input. (I mention this after seeing another reviewer's frustration with trying to do that)

Now, for the reason I was so excited about this remote in the first place: The ability to control the PS3. I can tell you that it works flawlessly. Power on, power off, video/music playback, menu navigation, just about everything you can do with the PS3 controller can be done with the Blu-Link remote. To power on, you simply hit the PS3 input selector. To power off, you hold the "Home" button, just like you would on a PS3 controller, and select "Power off device". Simple! The only ommission I've seen is the lack of "L" and "R" buttons. The only use I would have for them is webpage back/forward keys, (which is still easily done by hitting "triangle" and selecting it from the menu) but since I don't do much web browsing on the PS3 it's not a big deal.

The finish of the remote is very attractive, and I find the button layout to be very comfortable. Be aware that the buttons are quite small, namely the number keys and transport buttons. (FF, RW, etc.) Those with large hands may have problems.

I spent less than 10 minutes setting up this remote to control all of my components, and have been loving it in the time since. Yes, I have to manually adjust inputs when watching a movie instead of hitting a singular "Activity" key, but I also don't have to deal with the delays present in Logitech remotes. The PS3 control is fantastic, and you can get the Blu-Link remote for $10 less than the price of the Logitech PS3 adapter alone!

If you're unhappy with Harmony remotes, and you're a PS3 owner, this is a no-brainer. Buy it now!

I bought this remote a year ago, but it didn't do its job well for more than six months. It continued to function as a universal remote, but the bluetooth became so spotty to the point of worthlessness. It wouldn't remain connected to the PS3 for more than 10 seconds, so it would connect and I'd have to quickly scroll through menus before it'd disconnect. Then I'd wait another 10 seconds for it to reconnect and I'd start the mad shuffle again. Not a fun way to live life. I tried calling and emailing customer support on many occasions, but they've gone dark. So, I got a Harmony remote with their bluetooth adapter and haven't looked back. It's a far more expensive option, but I've had no difficulties with it, and I'm pretty sure Logitech will answer my calls. I don't like saying it, but I recommend looking elsewhere for your PS3 controlling needs.

I really want to love this remote, and I almost do. There's just a few kinks that I'm really having a hard time living with. Let me break down my loves and hates:

Love:

Almost eliminates 6 remotes/controllers (the "almost" is explained below)

"Teaching" commands is a breeze

Has a wide variety of buttons so I can logically assign buttons

Feels good in my hand (I don't think the buttons are too small, and I have normal sized guy hands)

Hate:

Only 50 programmable commands, globally. This means you can only "teach" the remote 50 new things across all devices. I ran out before I even got to my receiver's remote, so I've had to go back and pick and choose which commands I'll actually need regularly.

If you leave the remote in PS3 mode for a long time (60 minutes?) it will stop controlling the PS3 until you turn the PS3 off/back on. I re-paired, too, but I don't know if that's a necessary step all of the time.

As to my first complaint, I called the company's support number and talked to the fella there (very nice guy) and he confirmed that there are only 50 programmable commands. I asked him if I could request a feature and that it be more memory for the next model. Perhaps if enough people request it we'll get our wish. The company's site .

For my second complaint, I recommend doing what you have to in PS3 (Bluetooth) mode and then change to some other mode. The Bluetooth probably just goes to sleep to conserve battery power, but it's very frustrating. So switch modes and I think everything will be okay.

Overall, I really do like this remote because it's one-of-a-kind. Why hasn't anyone else thought of making a IR/Bluetooth remote? Who knows. But they haven't, so this is the best there is for now. It's definitely first-gen, but a great attempt. Hopefully they'll iron out the bugs and the next version will completely rock. I know I'm game to get an update.

I recommend this remote for anyone that has a PS3. For only a few dollars more than the standard PS3 Bluetooth remote, you also get IR capabilities to control other devices. I also wanted to echo a previous reviewer that pointed out that this remote does not have a delay when you press the buttons so refreshing. I'm also using this on a PS3 Slim and it works perfectly so I must have one of the newer versions.

If you're looking for a remote that can configure macros, this does not have that feature. I didn't need that feature since everything I have is connected through HDMI and is using HDMI CEC for synchronizing power state everything turns on and switches to the right input automatically.

These are the devices I am controlling: Onkyo TX-SR607 A/V receiver, Panasonic TC-P58V10 58" Plasma TV, PS3 Slim & Windows 7 HTPC running Windows Media Center and Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

This remote was on my Christmas list because Sony doesn't provide a remote for watching movies on the PS3. (Don't expect to use this remote as another game controller even though it has some controller buttons.) The universal remote capability was an added bonus. I was pleased with it until it stopped working with the PS3 Slim. During the middle of the first movie I watched it suddenly wouldn't control any PS3 functions. I found out from the manufacturer (and other reviews here) that this is a problem with the first 1,000 made which is apparently all that Amazon carries. (I think Amazon should note the Slim issue in its description.) Sony apparently changed the firmware on the PS3 Slim model making this remote inoperable. I like this remote so I am awaiting a replacement with a firmware update but I will have to pay return shipping for the old one. On the plus side this remote operates my HDTV and TiVo HD with no problems. It learns your other remote functions easliy if you want to change them. It is a little small but buttons are generally laid out well. I still find myself using my TiVo remote frequently because I'm so familiar with it but with practice this remote would function almost as well. A back light would be nice, too. All in all I was pleased with this remote but if you need PS3 Slim functionality make sure you find one with the newest firmware unless you want to pay additionally for return shipping.

Was fairly happy with this remote when I first got it. It was easy to set up with all my devices and worked fine for my PS3(not slim). Not that it is without problems. The buttons are way too small, there are no page up and down buttons, it's impossible to use in the dark, the blinking blue light when in PS3 mode is annoying, but at least it worked with the PS3.

After a week it stopped controlling my PS3. I called and left a message with customer support and emailed them, but have not received a reply. I'm stuck with a useless remote. Save your money.

Update: Company finally responded to my service request and sent me a new remote. It paired fine and controlled the PS3. However, I will not be able say whether it continues to. I bought the Sony remote, which I love, and am using that instead.

I first saw this game on Tech TV an have played the demo. I did not think Sonic Adventure could get any better than the first but I was so wrong. The graphics on this game are undescribable and unthinkable. The levels are much better and so are their plots, stages, and missions. The place that had the most improvement was the Chao homes. They are just unbelievable. I'm telling you now if you like action, long game play time, extreme graphics, and getting your money's worth then this is your game. This is a definite buy!

i have been waiting about a year and half for this game . At that time it wasn't officially announced, but i knew that they will make this game one day, and when i saw this yeaterday on the store i bought it right away. Anyway when i bought it, i thought it would be same as sonic adventure with better graphics, new characters, and new stages. But when i played for a while, i realized that this game was very different.

Differences1)you don't have to explore and find stages as if it's a RPG game. Like from sonic games from genesis, it brings you right to the action stage. 2)if you are thinking that this game is going to be too easy like the original SA you are wrong. This game's difficulty levels are much harder and more chellanging than the SA, and tails and Dr.Eggman's stages have puzzles to solve in order to proceed. ex. you have to find a switch to open doors. 3)it has many new moves and new options, such as grinding and chaos control and 2p play. 4)you don't pick a specific character and play only as him or her. Once you pick either hero or dark, 3 characters will constantly change as the story goes. 5)if you are playing as knuckles or rouge you are going to see that finding emeralds are more based on clues of the computer in the stages and the radars are not as accurate and reliable as SA. 6) in order to go to the chao world, you have to find the chao key in each stages, which makes it little harder. 7)you will find upgrade items in action stages since there is no such thing called adventure stages.(was that how it was called?) 8)and many more

so is the game better or worse than the original? i think it's better in most ways, but there are somethings that were better in SA.

better and prosbetter graphics and details (obiously). less or no slow downs. no exploring. faster gamepplay. More chellanging stages. longer and bigger stages. excellent story (at least as far as i'm in right now.) minigames and 2p play. Many more.

and worse and consit might take too long to find emeralds=frustrating. it might be too fast and hard to play, especially as sonic and shadow, you might fall and die when you try to grind on a vine or rail. They say better but i think this game's camera's even worse than SA. The boss battles are less intersting and the vehicles are not good as doesn't look as cool as SA. Play time is short, about 12-15hours according to a website.

Although this game isn't perfect and have minor some cons, the general gameplay, graphic, difficulty level etc improved a lot. And it is one of the best dreamcast games and one of my favorite games. If you like Sonic, even just a little bit, buy this game now. It won't dissapoint you. And when i am done with this game, i will be waiting sonic adventure 3 on gamecube and hopefully on ps2. (since i have a ps2 and i am not planning on buying a gamecube for a long time.)

On 9.9.99, when Dreamcast was launched, Sonic Adventure was a major hit. And it held and still holds the record for the best-selling DC game. But is that record's days numbered?

Sonic Adventure 2 is another one of those special Sega games that blasts the competition out of the water.

When the demo of Sonic Adventure 2 was released and now comes as a bonus with Phantasy Star Online (PSO), I just couldn't stop playing it. A lot of people couldn't.

The graphics have come a LONG way from Sonic Adventure. You can already notice the improvements in the beginning of the first level of the beautiful San Fransisco streets. Sonic escaping from an Army helicopter, skydives with his streetboard, and then slides his way through the city, eventually gets rid of his streetboard, and does the rest of the level on foot. Pretty close to the end of the level, Sonic has to run from a BIG 18-wheeler, similar to a scene in the 1968 movie "Bullitt" and will run from that all the way to the end of the level. The semi is beautifully detailed. Sonic's spines start to flap once he really starts to move. And the city itself is also quite gorgeous under the beautiful sun and not to the mention the lens flare.

And the levels after that get even better.

Sonic has lost a tad of weight. He now looks thinner than in the original Sonic Adventure. And he now sports Soap shoes.

Gameplay is just exceptional. Sonic Team has now fixed a lot of the flaws that were wreaking havoc in Sonic Adventure. You can now streetboard and finally earn points for pulling off tricks. And you can now do gymnastics and jump onto bars that are placed above stairs and a few other places. Time your dismount correctly and you'll get more air time. Tails and Dr. Robotnik (But sonic and the gang prefer to taunt him once again by calling him Eggman, referencing to his egg-shaped body and his "egghead" mind.) now do battle in mechanized artillery machinery. Sonic and Shadow compete in a race to the finish, and Knuckles and Rogue go against each other in a treasure hunt to find hidden jewels.

As for the characters, S.A. 2 will feature the same number of 6 playable characters as last time. Except this time, you can now play as Shadow, Dr. Robotnik and Rogue too.

Rogue and Shadow are the two new character additions to the game. Shadow sports a type of hover shoes that work like rollerblades or skates that hover. He may not sport Soaps, like Sonic does, but he can still grind on rails and do gymnastics.

Rogue is notable for being the first Sonic character to have polygonal breasts that bounce. She also has a tad of a crush on a certain red Echidna named Knuckles (Of course, she won't admit it.) and is definitely inspired by Knuckles determination to protect the Master Emerald. Although her trustworthiness is in question.

Without any doubt, there's a definite chance that Sonic Adventure 2 could take over the title as the best-selling DC game and might make the best platformer of the year. After being a Sonic fan for the full 10 years, this is DEFINITELY it!

And I'm glad he did! Lets face it people, it will never be the same playing a Sonic game on a non-Sega counsel! I know this game is coming to Gamecube...but seeing him on a Nintendo counsel (Who used to be Sega's biggest rival) is a bit strange! But if the true blue was going away, he was going away with a bang! And the result is "Sonic Adventure 2!" The first Sonic game for Dreamcast was a great game, but many people felt that most of the time they were just holding up on the analog most of the time! This is no longer a problem. Now you will have to turn...a lot!

That's right, no more running straight! Now it's time to actually make a few sharp turns in the game! Not to mention Sonic now has new moves which allowes him to grind, climb, follow rings in mid-air, flip, and snowboard! Sonic's new moves are great and stylish! Not only that, but Sonic's new rival Shadow has most of those moves (And some of his own) to add new challenges! The game is about rivals so you can choose weather or not to save the world or conquer it (It says so on the back of the box)!

There are problems though so don't think this is perfect! For one thing Tails (For some idiotic reason or another) spends his whole game in a robot shooting bullets instead of flying and stuff! I don't know WHAT he's doing THAT for...but it doesn't work for me!!! Next is the whole Knuckles/Rouge thing. These guys can glide, run fast, climb, punch and kick, and Sonic Team can't seem to give them anything better to do then search for pieces of the Master Emeralds!?! And these levels are slow, boring, and a bit on the tedious side!

Graphically speaking this game runs at a smooth 60 fps without a hint of slowdown! And at the speed this game goes at that's increadable! I don't think the PS2 could handle that speed (Although Gamecube might)! The english voices are still flawed and acted weakly, but now you have the choice to switch to the japanesse voices so I recomend you do so! The music is good, but for old times sake where the heck is some of the classic Sonic music? The Choa mini-game is fun and cute...but long!

I recomend you make sure you have time to take care of this stuff! What else am I missing...oh yeah the bosses rock! This is easily the best Sonic game yet! Although Sonic will now be on other game systems I'm glad that his last appearance on a Sega system turned out like this! Not that I have anything against "Sonic Shuffle," but that game would have been a weak exit for Sonic! If you own Dreamcast get this game! You won't be sorry!

This is one of Sega's best games. I like to play with both of the good and bad sides. I can beat the ultamate life form, but I haven't gotten around to it. I like how they added masks for the chao, hero and dark gardens, kindergarten, and some different abilitys when you are in the gartens (kicking, slapping, petting, whistling, petting, and flying forever.) I only wish that there was an adventure field like in Sonic Adventure 1.

I picked this up from Steam after its initial release. The game seemed to be getting decent player reviews and that usually helps me decide to buy a game or not.

Velvet Assassin is a stealth game at heart. If you've played any of the Splinter Cell games you will be right at home here. However, unlike the PC version of Splinter Cell games this seems to be more geared toward the consoles or XBox 360.

You play as a British spy or secret agent (like James Bond) which is actually a female that has been hospitalized after a unknown tragic accident. As you play through the story you will have various tasks to complete like destroying a fuel depot. Your main task is to get to your targets without being noticed by killing anyone that gets in your way. It's a simple and effective stealth concept however the way you perform these tasks is a bit arcadish compared to many other PC stealth games of the past.

The controls are geared toward a XBox control scheme. You can not navigate the main menus with the PC mouse just the keyboard. The stealth kills are animated cut-sceens which are a bit cheesy to me. Climbing latters, going through doors or crawling under objects are not shown in real time as you will appear on the other side without actually going through the motions.

What saves this game is it's errie and surreal stealth atmosphere. The story is not bad but can get confusing sometimes especially on what happened to her and why she is in the hospital. The music is well placed as you will her creepy sounds when your inside dark hallways and buildings.

The graphics are wonderful and very vibrate. I liked how the designers use color to set the mode in various levels. One level you may have bright reds and oranges and in another level you will have dark greens and blues. This is very creative to make the atmosphere look right for the story plot.

Overall, this game is not very long and you will finish it fairly quickly if you have played these types of games before. I didn't like the console feel but it seems more PC games are just becoming XBox ports where the only difference is that it will play on a PC rather than a console system. This is sad that developers are that cheap and I feel this game is way too expensive for the quality you get. The gameplay does not warrent $50 as the publishers suggest. My advise is to wait until this game comes down to $30 or below due to the length, quality and the fact that there is no multiplayer. You can replay missions in different ways which adds little replay value.

If your looking for a WWII stealth game where you can play as a female British secret agent that stabs Nazi soldiers to death in a immersive atmosphere then Velvet Assassin is a good game. Just don't pay full price for a average steatlh game that resembles a console game to the "T".

I was curious about this game, since it's release. When I got the opportunity to pick it up...I was pretty amazed. The Physx graphics are good. Gameplay has a bit of a learning curve, but once you figure out the moves, etc...this game is a decent challenge and worth buying. the story was based on a real life WWII British assassin. For the price...the gameplay is fun!

First the basics:

Video 4.5; Positives include generally crisp resolution in higher settings, excellent use of light and shadow, unique coloring for mood and place. Negatives are few, but I found a couple of scenes too dark in the middle distance to see a foe, and the colors could get a little monotonous.

Sound 5; excellent sound and musical score matched the atmosphere and locations well. Sound effectively used to generate tension when hunted, reinforce atmosphere. German voices add to atmospheric effect and are correct. Screams of people caught in a burning church were appalingly realistic and made me rush to try to save them, immersing me thoroughly (though very disturbing). Music genuinely haunting, especially end theme.

Gameplay 3.5; Positives include stealth ability (similar to Splinter Cell and actually a little like the Theif games. Negatives are the "dream-like" morphine rush, which I never used beyond the first mission because it detrated from the realism and you do not have to to win, the inability to pick up dropped weapons (other than the morphine rush, perhaps the single most unrealistic element of the game), and the fact that generally you can avoid the enemy AI by using vertical movement (go up or down a stair and they lose you). They also seem to lose interest if you stay hidden for ahwile, which is not too realistic, either, but makes sense as a trade-off for gameplay.

Atmosphere 5; like the old Thief games, with their dark visuals and eery music and sound themes, I found myself quite immersed and absorbed in this experience. Teh story is interesting if a bit difficult to pull together early as it's told in falshbacks of a sort. The last missions, from escaping the hospital and then heading into the village, in which Violette is running around in her undies with a Luger, knife and StG43 (one of the first assault rifles, invented by the Germans of course :-)) stretched credulity to some extent; I mean, just where is she stashing the guns and ammo and knife anyway...? The cinematics for stealth kills are actually pretty good, though randomized (might show you using the butt of your shotgun instead of the knife in the groin). I especially liked how Violette gets much more brutal as she vents her frustration and hatred on her targets starting in the hospital escape, often killing them and then stabbing them again and again with abandon nice way of seeing her state of mind.

Replayability 2; Not much, unless you want to play it again at a differnt difficulty level or try some different tactics to maximize experience points, collectibles, etc...

Commentary: Overall, I found the game one of the more enjoyable and engaging PC stealth shooters I have played in some time, despite being an obvious console port (bummer, I pine for the good old days when the PC was king...sigh). Just so you know my bias, I really enjoyed the Thief and Splinter Cell games, and to some extent Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (in stealth mode). If you like this type of game, even if a bit linear, appreciate the drama of WW2 espionage and well crafted, atmospheric envionments accented by solid visuals combined with excellent sound effects and music, you will like this game. Be warned as with Thief and Splinter Cell, you cannot 'run and gun' your way through this and live.

Recomended "extra": Use the flare gun for a treat screaming Nazis on fire. Or hit the tank on the flamethrower troops for a similar effect suh-weeeet. And bottom line, what can be better than killing Nazis with a knife, from behind, or roasting them alive?

Southpeak delivered my purchase of Velvet Assassin on time and on the exact date shipping said I would receive the product. As far as I am concerned they appear to be a reliable vendor.

The game itself is very worthy of its price tag. Although, I believe Steam is selling it for slightly less at $1.99 $2.99. I think. Gameplay is exceptional yet not spectacular. If you own a console I would recommend Splinter Cell: Blacklist. In the genre of stealth video games it rates very high.

Velvet Assassin is not an easy game. I am running Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 570 Desktop PC, 64-bit processor with 2.00 GB RAM. As a result of my PC not being built for gaming I had to run Velvet Assassin on the lowest settings possible.

Like many others here, I like a great stealth game. Thief comes to mind, as do the Splinter Cell games, and I liked them all. Even played Deus Ex HR through trying to be stealth.

Velvet Assassin is a good try. Its set in dreary WW2 settings, and you get to kill all sorts of nazis, so that makes it at least worth trying. Its based on a real life WW2 assassin and secret agent, as well as has cool locations, so that makes it visually appealing in general.

Its a truly austere game, where you get a knife, and a couple of bullets here and there, but there are minimal resources, and you have to make the best of what you can find. I like a good challenge, so I did in fact enjoy parts of the game.

Now for the bad news. As many people have commented, it does suffer from bad consolitis... The worst being that its a checkpoint save system, with sometimes HUGE wait times for a save. You can spend 30 minutes trying to carefully take out several opponents, and then at the last minute, find that you're dead from some minuscule thing you didn't see. Then you have to play the same 30 minute section over and over and over and over. This kills games for me every time. I'm just sick and tired of this showing up in more and more games.... are quicksaves really all that hard to code into a game? Its just lazy on the part of the game developers.

Another unfortunate thing, which I could probably overlook if there were quicksaves, is the fact that sometimes, the enemies seem to know you're there, they come after you and kill you, even though you have no idea why. So no quicksaves, with random deaths, make it just unplayable for long periods of time.

I guess if you have lots of time on your hands, then this could be a good game. Its too bad actually, as the game overall has massive potential, but was failed miserably by the awful save system, and random deaths.

Just a bit of additional balance would have made this a solid 4 star game.

I hadn't seen anybody else talking about the 360, so i thought i'd add this. This game is compatible with the 360 and it is awsome! The black and white buttons on the xbox map to the "bumpers" on the 360, so all works quite well. This game is one of the most addictive games i've ever played. I highly recommend it for adults and mature teens who are already desensitised to gangs and violence.

I've beaten both versions of San Andreas (ps2/Xbox) and I can honestly say that it is the greatest game I've ever played. Anyone who disagrees with me has obviously never played it all the way through or they used cheats to do so. GTA San Andreas is all out amazing and blows any game out there away. That is of course until a new GTA game comes out for the Ps3 or Xbox 360. If you've never played a GTA game or you didn't like the other GTA games, you still have to play San Andreas.

I didn't even start playing this game until after I beat GTA IV when a friend recommended I check out some of the earlier games in the series. It's absolutely phenomenal! If you can deal with the certainly less-than-spectacular graphics when compared to current popular games (especially GTA IV), I promise you'll have a blast! There are actually many more side missions and fun things to do in this game than GTA IV. Even after beating the main storyline, you'll still have hours upon hours of extra tasks that you can complete. Rockstar should have remade this game for GTA IV. A must buy!!

This is by far the best game I've ever played. Sure, it's so inappropriate it's laughable, but that's not the point. This is a revolutionary game, with probably one of the biggest worlds ever made in videogames. The radio is amazing, the story makes sense, and even though it's a GTA game, it still has family values. CJ tries to find out who killed his mom with his brother as they bring the Grove Street Families back from the grave. Excellent!

PS: To the kid who wrote the review about this game, with all due respect you really don't know what you're talking about mate. People don't buy this game because it teaches them great values, they buy it because it's a great game. It's not like after beating this game, I'm gonna go grab an AK-47 and go on a police massacre. How is it our country is so messed up to allow such a violent game be sold then pull it off the shelves because of a little sex scene. I walk up to the old grannies in the game, stop them into a bloody mess then track bloody foot prints (or tire tracks) as I leave. But show two consenting adults having sex and the game gets pulled. Sex is not illegal. The violence is. I think it is totally bassackwards. The game is sweet either way, for adults anyway. I need to get GTA 3.

Boom Blox is the perfect example of what a good Wii game should be. It is innovative, intuitive, and most of all, fun. Gamers and non-gamers alike will be able to pick this game up and start playing within seconds.

First off, I'll get the bad news out of the way. Graphically this game isn't going to wow anyone. The graphics are adequate and never go beyond that. The sound and music is instantly forgettable. The characters are saccharine cute, uninspired and half of them make weird grunting noises like a puppy with a bad case of painful gas. Hardcore gamers will likely dismiss this game as a throw-away cutsie/kiddie title. I wouldn't blame them, but that would be their loss. On a side note, if you're a fan of Happy Tree Friends, the characters bear a striking resemblance... except they are block-shaped.

The good news is that just about everything else in this game is very well designed and fun. To truly grasp how the gameplay works you have to see it in action, but I'll try to describe it as best I can. The premise of this physics-based puzzle game is that each level will have a challenge, such as destroy every gem block or carefully unstack a pile of rectangular blocks much like you would as if you were playing Jenga. Some levels will have you throwing tennis balls, bombs, or bowling balls at to interact with the level while others may have you spraying fire hoses and blasting things with lasers. Some levels encourage you to operate with delicate precision and others encourage reckless, destructive behavior. Overall, the game has a good balance. The gameplay is varied and the use of the Wii controls is very impressive (with one minor exception being the light-gun style mini-games which are very rare). This game really could have been terrible. Too many developers would have slapped some half-baked control scheme onto this game and called it good, but this is one of those rare games where the developer obviously put a lot of thought into the control.

I haven't played multi-player very much, but what I've played is very fun and enjoyable. Single player is addictive, so much so that I was late to a dinner meeting because my friends kept urging me to check out the next level. Most of the levels are clever and leave the player with a great sense of accomplishment when completed. After every five or six levels a new feature or function is opened up, which keeps the gameplay from getting stale. From what I can tell there are hundreds of levels built into the game PLUS the game includes a full featured level editor allows you to modify existing levels and create your own in addition to being able to share your creations with others on the internet.

I know the first thing that almost prevented me from buying this game was the $ price tag. Now let me just say that the game is worth every penny whether you're a casual or hardcore gamer. I myself am a hardcore gamer and usually pass over casual games like Boom Blox, but it's incredibly addicting.

The basic idea of the game is you throw, grab, or whip around balls, blocks, or whatever to accomplish whatever goal is given to you, either it be pull out the blocks without splattering the cow on the ground or destroy everything as quickly as possible. You do this with the Wii remote (nunchuck isn't required for most of the game but helps with precise camera movement) by pressing A and throwing or grabbing. Every movement with the remote is picked up very precisely and feels like you're in total control. Combine this with the Havok physics engine (the most recent physics engine released) and the game is incredibly accurate and realistic.

The graphics themselves aren't top notch, but they're aren't horrible either. The only frame rate drops are when you're creating your own levels and you place too many objects on the screen where the physics engine can't handle every item because of the Wii's horsepower.

The best part of the game is located in the multiplayer component. Basically it's a combination or everything in the single player mode along with a Jenga-like mode which is the best use of the WiiMote yet. Every movement is picked up perfectly and you can't help but taunt your fellow players to accidentally jerk their hand and topple whatever they're doing.

Not enough levels for you? Create infinite numbers of levels with the editor. I cannot delve too deep into this since I've just begun messing around with the mode, but this is definitely where a bulk of the fun is. combine it with the fact that you can send your levels to Wii friends via WiiConnect24 and you're all set.

Overall, unless you have friends to play the game with, the single player levels may grow dry unless you enjoy building your own, but that shortcoming cannot stop me from giving this game 5 stars just because of the amount of material within the game. A+ in my book.

No, the title isn't hyperbole. I do honestly believe this is the best Wii title I've purchased. Granted, I do not own No More Heroes, Metroid Prime 3, or Zelda: Twilight Princess but I do have all the rest of the so-called "best" Wii games (Super Mario Galaxy, Zack and Wiki, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Okami, etc.). Those other games aren't bad, not by a long shot I've loved them all they just don't have the downright pure fun factor that Boom Blox does.

Boom Blox is astounding in its simplistic design yet addictive nature. This is a game all ages can enjoy. It has decent colorful graphics, nice relaxing music, and tons of puzzles to solve. While some puzzles aren't as fun or enjoyable as others it is still never a chore to finish any portion of this game. I have yet to even try the multiplayer or create-a-puzzle modes, but after having just played most of the single player I doubt my opinion of this game could get any higher.

Is it a technical marvel? No. Is it high action super polished AAA? No. Is it the most fun I've had playing the Wii? YES.

This game has made me believe my Wii purchase was not in vain and that there can be good inventive games that will tear me from my Xbox 360.

Overall, the game was alright, but certainly had several flaws.

Graphics: Graphically, the game is cute. In general, the graphics are good, cutsie, and intended to be on lines with the wii mii's as far as being smoothmapped and cartoony. For what the game is, you get what you need out of the graphics.

Gameplay: For those who are not aware of exactly what boomblox is, Boomblox is simply an assortment of minigames on lines with Rayman: RR (replacing grossness and strangeness with cuteness). Each minigame is build on blocks, which take on a variety of shapes and sizes. The games are sorted in easy to follow menus. The variety of the games follow a few "trends". Either you toss bombs at structures or people to blow them up, toss tennis balls or the slightly larger bowling balls to knock down structures, or pull blox out of the structure. Some games are time based, others are point based, others are based on using the least amount of turns to knock down everything. The games are fun, and range from Jenga Like games, to protect the castle type games, to a blox shooter. There are essential 4 different types of themed backgrounds, such as jungle and med evil castle. The games are fun and can be addicting, especially if you are determined to get a gold in each game. When you start, nothing is available and everything must be unlocked, a bronze is the minimum required to do as such. Many of the games are really just puzzles, where you try to figure out the weak spot(s) that enable you to knock down everything or pull out everything in the given time. Most of the games are really simple to do, and anyone teen level and higher will figure out most of the puzzles instantly. Occasionally, you will find one that you just can't figure it out. Other times, your success has to do with more dumb luck (as to where the explosion goes) than actual skill.

Story: The game does actually have a story. In adventure mode, you face 4 of these stories, they consist of a small cartoon scene from beginning to end that roughly explain why your doing what you are doing with the blocks. It is weak in story, and really just done for a laugh.

Multiplayer: It consists of a pretty good multiplayer. People can verse each other for the best score, or work together to get the best metal. It is one of the main reasons to get this game in my opinion, as it has several games that can be played easily as a group.

Overall: The game is a fun game, potentially addictive, and best played with a group or party. It is fun for kids. The reason it scores a 3 instead of a 5, is that it really just doesn't have much to it. The story mode is lacking, and is just loosely done as a joke more than for a reason. The games are limited, and most of them are similar, not really offering much in the ways of variety. The single player has absolutely no re playability, once you solve the puzzle, there is little point in replaying. The one exception is the save the castle modes, where you try to protect your jewels from oncoming attackers. But most of them are so easy you will get a gold on the first try. Multiplayer has a little more re playability, but since levels don't change, once you complete one, there is very little point in returning to it. This game has tons of unlockables, since just about everything needs to be unlocked on every level, including a large amount of the pieces you can put in the 'build it your own' mode. However, it is a simple and easy game, and once your done playing and beating all the levels(maybe a 10 hour endeavor assuming you don't get stuck for 2 hours on a specific level)there is nothing else to the game to keep you interested.

I'll keep it simple. Much like this game. If you are looking for a game that is fun and easy to pick while still maintaining that in-depth, mind mashing, just-one-more-game-feeling, this is that game. Think of it this way: Single player mode lures you into the game by starting you off with simple puzzles. Puzzles that many people will not only find easy to do, but rewarding to see solved as pieces go flying about in a spectacular true physical display of awesomeness. You'll feel good about your success. You'll love the little gold medal. And you'll want to play more. And that's where it gets you. The challenges increase. The puzzles get harder and soon you'll find yourself judging each puzzle with a strict eye, analyzing each structure for the weakest point or the perfect spot where the nice gentle lob of a bowling ball with bring the whole structure down with an elegant explosion. You will want that gold medal--and trust me, this game in later levels will make you work for it.

That aside--the shear number of levels for single player is astounding. You'll be at this for a while. And the best part is--you won't mind. You'll find yourself every day going back to this game just to finish off more and more of this monster. Honing your skills. Perfecting your shots. Like an addict of crossword puzzles, you'll desire the gratification of "beating" the puzzle. It's fantastic feeling.

As for multi-player. Well, get ready to gather with some friends. Play against each other. Strike with strategy in mind. Or play together. Your choice. But the number of options in this mode will lend itself to hours upon hours of unpredictable play. And that my friends is one of the main reasons to own a Wii. Nothing says Wii like friends gathered around vying for ultimate victory at the expense of their peers. Every move by your opponents, even those made by you, can lead to ultimate victory or you giving the game away to the lucky mug who will take advantage of you smashing the structure "just enough" to let him/her bring it down with a gentle toss.

So here is the bottom line. Buy it. Play it. Thank me.
