This game that has something for everyone. On the fun side, it has plenty of extreme moves run-of-the-mill baseball games lack, like larger than life catches, baserunning, and pitching. But, you can also play in realistic mode, where it plays more like a usual baseball game, but it has an extensive baseball simulation that tops even the straight sim type baseball games, with things like, ticker scores scrolling onscreenn while you are online of the current mlb games going on and the full range of team managing including minor league signs, team stealing percentages, etc. finally you dont have to buy 2 baseball games anymore, slugfest has the best fun baseball game as well as the best realistic one out this year, all in one game.

Hey everyone, this game is an awesome game that any true fantasy RPG fan would love. If you're an Oblivion fanatic, then don't get this game because you'll never be satisfied with anything else. I am so sick of all the negative reviews because all these people have to say is that it isn't as good as Oblivion. Stop comparing it to Oblivion! Hey, here's an idea. Why not review this game based on its own merits and the fantasy RPG genre as a whole rather than telling us why it's not as good as Oblivion. Personally, I haven't played Oblivion. But I have been playing fantasy RPG games on computer now for about 15 years, so I know what I am talking about. So here is my review which I originally posted on Amazon.com on the 24th when the game first came out (with a few revisions). I also want to say that I bought this game because I am waiting for the Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion pack Mask of the Betrayer to come out, so I wanted something to keep me busy in the meantime (and I don't want to pay $15 a month to play World of Warcraft). I am also happy that this game looks good and runs well on my computer.

This is one of the best role-laying games that I have played in a long time. And the graphics and sound are great too! If you like fantasy RPG games such as Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, and Icewind Dale, then you're going to love this game. You can get the demo from the Two Worlds web site at You should get the demo first to see if it will run on your computer and to make sure you like it. This game is made for dual-core processors with a modern graphics card, so if you have an old computer then you probably shouldn't get this game until you upgrade your system (or you can get it for Xbox 360 if you have one).

What I like most about this game is that it is an open-class system for developing your character. What this means is that unlike most RPGs, your character is not restricted to just one class. When you create your character, you don't choose a class. Your character is free to develop any skills from any class as you advance levels. So you can wield magic, be a powerful fighter, and be a skilled thief all at the same time. And there are no class restrictions. In Dungeons and Dragons games, you often have restrictions based on your chosen class. Such as wizards can't have full plate armor. And fighters can't cast magic. The only restrictions I have found are practical things like you can't swim or use a bow in heavy armor. You can also fight with two weapons once you learn that skill.

Two Worlds is a huge game, so traveling on foot is not the best way to get around. Therefore, you can travel in faster ways. You can either use the teleport system. Or you can ride on horses or other animals. The box says that you can have six different mounts in this game. You can also fight from your horse which does more damage. And as far as I understand, you can't fight from horseback in Oblivion. But in this game you can (except with 2-handed weapons).

There is a main storyline that you have to follow, but you can follow it at your own pace (and there may be different outcomes based on your choices). If you want, you can just explore the world talking to people, fighting monsters, leveling up your character, buying and selling equipment, and completing various optional side quests for different NPCs. And there is no good or evil in this game, so you can make your own choices however you want. But your choices will have consequences in the game world. For example, if you break into someone's house, the guards in town will be alerted and will attack you. Or if you steal someone's things in their home, they will attack you. This is very different from most RPG games as you usually have to choose an alignment such as good, evil, or neutral, and then you have to make choices based on your chosen alignment. In D&D games, you are even more restricted because your chosen class may force you into a certain alignment (paladins have to be lawful good, assassins have to be evil, druids have to be neutral, monks have to be lawful, etc.) So this is a very welcome change from what I am used to. Also, there are different organizations and guilds in the game that you can gain influence in as you complete tasks for them which can prove useful. For example, if you have gained influence in the Merchant's Guild, you will get a discount at their stores. And at one point in the game, you have to gain influence in a certain clan to be able to speak with their leader.

The graphics in this game totally blew me away! Much better than Neverwinter Nights 2. When I bought Neverwinter Nights 2 for my PC, I had to also buy a graphics card to play it. Then after installing the graphics card, I was expecting something amazing. But I was totally let down. The game barely ran on my HP a1600n with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core 2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, and NVidia 7600 GS with 512 MB of RAM. The skies in that game totally suck. And I had to turn down many of the settings like the shadow quality to have an acceptable frame rate. But Two Worlds was a totally different experience. In Two Worlds, I had beautiful skies and landscapes, trees that blow in the wind, rain and lightning, glistening armor, moving shadows, night and day cycles, and rippling water with reflections.

The sound quality of this game was top notch too. The best part was the music which was done by Harold Faltermeyer who composed music to movies such as Top Gun and "Axel F" from Beverly Hills Cop. For a video game to have a movie composer is pretty remarkable. One thing I didn't like, though, is the music can get repetitive. In one part of the game there is a rock/Gothic/Celtic song with a beautiful female singer. The first time I heard the song, I thought "Wow! I really like this song." But after 10 times in a row I started to get a headache and went to the settings and turned the music off. Once I turned the music off, I was able to better hear the sound effects such as the leaves rustling in the wind when outdoors and water dripping and echoing when underground.

I love the magic system in this game too. Unlike D&D games where you have to memorize a spell and then it is used up once you cast it, this game has a much more flexible magic system. There are five realms of magic: earth, air, fire, water, and necromancy. And you have so many points of mana that you can use to cast your magic. Each spell costs a certain amount of mana when cast. This way, you can keep casting fireball as many times as you want until you run out of mana. I had my right mouse button mapped to my fireball spell, so I could left-click to attack with my sword and right-click to cast my fireball. There are a total of 100 spells in game, and don't forget that any character can learn any spell. This system of magic casting I found to be far more flexible and fun than D&D based games. There is also an extensive alchemy system for creating potions, gems, and traps, but I haven't tried it yet.

Another really cool feature of this game is what is called stacking. If you find more than one sword of the same type, then instead of selling the ones you don't need, you can stack them. What this means is that if you stack one sword on top of the other, it merges into one sword that is suddenly more powerful and can do more damage. You can also stack armor and spells. I have never played a RPG game that let you do this before, and I just love this feature. This way you can create really powerful items from a very simple item. I ended up stacking my bow to create a super powerful bow. I bought over 30 of the same bow and stacked them all to create a bow that could cause over 300 points of damage!

Finally, there is a multiplayer mode to this game. The box says that you can play online with others in a MMO setting with arena duels and cooperative play all for free. But I wouldn't buy this game for the multiplayer mode. If you really want a multiplayer game, then I would recommend World of Warcraft, Star Wars Battlefront 2, or Halo 3 (for the 360). But if you are a fan of single player fantasy RPGs, then get this game.

Two Worlds is an excellent fantasy RPG game, but it is not perfect. Like any game, there are some things that could be better. In the multiplayer mode you have more choices when starting out with your main character. You can choose male or female humans as well as other races and classes. But in the single player mode, your only choice is a human male. I think a lot of girls out there will be upset that they can't create a female character. Neverwinter Nights 2 has this game beat in that respect with a huge amount of choices for races and classes with male and female versions of every one. In NWN2, you could spend hours just creating your character. But in this game, your only choices are appearance such as eye color, hair color, and a few other things.

The interactions with NPCs were kind of limited. When you talked with someone, it locks you in to a cut-scene like interaction where your character can have a conversation. But your choices for conversation were kind of limited. Also, a lot of the NPCs looked the same. And where were all the women? The few women I found didn't even want to talk to me. They just told me to go away. The only woman I could talk to was the main character's sister, who is the hot chick on the front of the box.

Probably the thing that most needs improvement in this game is the voice acting. Unlike Oblivion where they used professional actors like Patrick Stewart to do the voices, this game's voice acting is really bad. I should have given this game a four star rating instead because of the bad voice acting. Many of the characters all sound (and look) the same, and the main character has a monotone voice (in Neverwinter Nights you can choose what kind of voice you want your character to have). This makes you just want to skip through the dialogue and then check your journal to see what your new quests are. The good thing is that you can skip through the dialogue. You only need to press escape or the space bar. Also, I am so sick of hearing the words, "methinks," "mayhap," "perchance," and other archaic Old English words.

Finally, there is one other thing that is really annoying me about this game. Even though my character has really high strength, my inventory quickly fills up and I end up having to drop many items because I can't carry them all. This has forced me to put more and more points in strength every time I advance in levels just so I can carry more equipment even though I wanted to put points in my other attributes. What good is it to find really awesome armor and weapons if I can't even carry them without having to drop other things in my inventory? As it turns out, the multiplayer version lets your horse carry an unlimited amount of items. But this feature is not available in the single player game.

When I first heard about this game, I thought "Okay, here's another RPG game with orcs, elves, and dwarfs. This has all been done before. Nothing new here." But after trying the demo, this game far surpassed my expectations. I feel like this is the RPG game that I have always wanted to play on my computer. So hopefully this review will convince you to buy this game. Despite the few things that I didn't like, Two Worlds is an excellent RPG game that is worth playing.

After buying this game, I still love it and think it is an excellent RPG game for the PC. My thanks to the people at Reality Pump for making a really good game. But the game clearly loses points for the bad voice acting and the lack of character creation choices in the single player game. Other than that, this game will keep you entertained for a long time with the open character development system, great magic system, great graphics and sound, and a huge expansive world to explore. It is definitely worth your 50 bucks. And unlike World of Warcraft and some other games, you don't have to pay an extra $15 a month to play it.

In the future, I hope that Reality Pump comes out with some updates to this game to fix the limitations and an expansion pack to add more content. I would like to see all the multiplayer options in the single player game (more character creation choices and mounts that can carry your stuff), and I would love to see flying mounts that can be ridden on. Can you imagine having a flying dragon as your mount? And to be able to fight from your dragon with a lance like in Dragonlance? One of the spells you cast is "summon wyvern," but unfortunately you can't ride on it.

PROS:

open-class character advancement system (you can learn any skill from any class)

huge world to explore with an open-ended non-linear quest

great magic system with an extensive alchemy system

the best graphics I have seen in a RPG game yet

the best sound I have heard in a RPG game yet

weapons, armor, and spells can be stacked to create more powerful versions

6 different mounts to ride and fight from

free online multiplayer

CONS:

limited character creation options in the single player mode (human male only)

horse can carry unlimited items, but this feature is only in the multiplayer version

limited choices when interacting with NPCs and bad voice acting

most NPCs were men, hardly any women! (more hot chicks please)

This game had a lot of hype attached to it when I was first told about it in gamestop. The clerk there had asked if I liked Oblivion or any other RPGs. I had said yes. He told me it would be a little bit like Oblivion but 3rd person. I won't be discussing the similarities and differences based on Oblivion. I am just letting everyone know how I came to hear of this game.

My girlfriend had pre-ordered this for me as a gift. When I got it, I played it for hours until I beat it. Even if I do not enjoy a game, I still try my best to play it to the end, to have the full experience and full opinion. I have played a variety of games. Anything from Hitman, to Diablo, to STALKER, to Startopia, Warhammer, Fallout, all sorts of games and I enjoy every variety.

I wasn't too impressed with this. The official site had promised a change in the world of the game, based on whether you are good or evil. It talked about necromancy not being available until you discover it, along with no zombies until you "activate" the necromancy branch.

I was led on to believe many things about this game before I played it. And I would actually point out that the official site lied a LOT.

There were many pros and cons to this game.

Pros:

1. You start off weak, you really need to work on your character to fight the numerous creatures throughout the game.

2. Many different types of enemies, up to the end of the game.

3. You can kill anything. If a villager tells you about a reward and wants you to do a quest, you can actually just kill them and take it. Or anyone else for that matter.

4. You can stack weapons and armor to create stronger versions. This is great when you enjoy the look of an armor or if you want to keep a specific weapon style.

5. Very large map to play in

6. Beautiful HDR lighting to the point of realism to sun sensitivity

Cons:

1. You have a predefined character as a human male, warrior. To be anything else takes quite a few hours to actually be much of anything.

2. Bows were practically useless, as was most magic. The hack and slash way of fighting was most effective.

3. Misleading info on the actual SITE. When you end the game, whether you choose good or bad, only determines the end cutscene, after that, you are done playing.

4. Phone activation

5. So so voice acting

6. Not much to the fighting style, you swing, you swing, you swing. No combos, no variety to fighting moves.

7. Blood is horribly rendered, just a small red splotch on the screen.

8. Horse riding is very inefficent, not worth fighting on the horse itself. Hard to control while riding

9. At times the missions tended to be confusing.

Conclusion:

In the end, if I had not payed the $50 and payed around $10, I would had been happy with it. You get what you pay for. It isn't the best game out there, but it isn't the worse. I give it 4/10 overall. Not for me, even though I have played huge varieties of games, and have played many RPGs even.

Best Deals for Two Worlds - PC

Seriously, this game is loads of fun. First let me say I love Morrowind, and have put over 200 hours into Morrowind. Oblivion is like a super polished Morrowind and so after 10 hours of Oblivion I bailed, just can't do a repeat of essentially Morrowind on steroids. Now after 14 hours of Two Worlds, PC version, I'm having so much fun. It's a different feel from Morrowind and Oblivion. A somewhat more complex and interative adventure. I love how all the creatures have rather unique attacking methods. You do have to work on differing strategies. I love the magic system based on cards you find all over the world or purchase at select merchants. Cards offering you various spell casting abilities. Air, Water, Earth, Fire & Necromancy. Casting spells is easily handled with hot keys. So yes, you can hack and slash with a wide assortment of weapons via the left mouse button and cast your main spell with the right mouse button or various hotkeys. And you can rotate up to 3 weapons with the R key. The alchemy system is intuitive and darn near all ingredients can be mixed into a potion. This is loads of fun. The travel system is great, you can go by foot, by horse (buy or steal one) or by portal. You can even battle while on horseback if you level up correctly. Plus of course the horse can hold inventory. I currently have 3 horses. Horse riding is quite realistic. The map on the game is huge, but not as huge as Morrowind. In Morrowind you could take 20 minutes real time to walk from town to town. In this game no more than 4-8 minutes. Hey if that's too long, get a darn horse. The game world is inhabited by various wild animals like wolves (which attack in packs) and bears (which attack solo). That for the first 6-7 hours are pretty hard to defeat. They even respawn at night in limited numbers as ghosts (if you killed them) which is an interesting twist. The characters you meet all speak in their own voices, which is cool. Of course there are varied quests and different guilds you can join. But really the fun is in the fighting which is spaced out just enough to keep it lively and never a bore. But never overwhelming (so far no more than 8 opponents at a time.) And the terrain is very hilly, which has a nice effect. No just flat plains. And instead of just swords, arrows, knives, clubs and magic, you can learn to set various traps for your enemy like fire bombs which is a blast. Another thing I like about combat is that your opponent can knock your weapon out of your hand. This happened to me while fighting a group of skelton warriors. And caught me totally by surpise. Fighting is best handled in 3rd person, as you can easily be surrounded by enemy. But you can play the game in first person too. Overall the world has a realness to it, and since when you die your character will respawn at the nearest health temple, you don't have to play the game saving just before all major battles. Even though you can save anywhere and the autosave happens automatically before any major event takes place. Also it's cool how you can upgrade your equipment by finding the exact same equipment and putting them together as one. Works with everyting including the magic cards. Anyway, this game is lots of fun. I admit I do have a top of the line system with a Geforce 7800, and have no problems playing at 1280x960 all effects on max. I can't speak for lesser systems, but, I'm done... and expect to be having fun for another 50 hours!

Honest reviews on Two Worlds - PC

As one of the reviewers recommended, I tried out the demo version. Based on the demo, I purchased the game and have not regretted it. Incidentally, the game is better than the demo. Although reviews for Two Worlds tend to reflect two extremes, it seems that most of those people who don't like the game have either played the game on a console or not read the game manual. If the reader can avoid falling into either of those categories, this game is definitely worth considering. This review is based on the PC version, release 1.6. I've played it about 10 hours at this point.

Environment: The game environment is very realistic. Clothing, weapons, buildings, roads, and plant life all show that someone put a lot of time into the design. This is one of those games that you enjoy just walking around and looking at the scenery.

Unfortunately, you will not do much looking at scenery in the beginning, since you are almost constantly being attacked by something or someone. Although the towns appear to be populated at realistic levels, the wilderness is filled with wolves, boars, bears, bandits, and a variety of other hostiles. There always seems to be something nipping at your heels. As you travel further from the game's starting point, this seems to become less of a problem.

The game provides regular day/night cycles along with frequent weather changes. Some of the weather, such as thunderstorms, is very realistic. The only minor issue here is that the weather tends to change too fast. In Two Worlds you may have several different types of weather each day.

The game world is large--not Morrowind large, but it will take you a long time to travel from one end to the other on foot. Fortunately, there are portals that allow you to teleport between places you have already been.

There are a lot of items in this game world. The plethora of minerals, plants, objects, weapons, and other items will have you making constant decisions regarding what to do with them. This adds a lot of depth to the game, so if you like experimenting with alchemy, magic, or weapon power-ups Two Worlds is a great sandbox to play in.

Control: Character control is excellent. If you do not have a weapon readied, you can play in a first or third person perspective. When you ready a weapon, the game will switch you to third person perspective. You can zoom the camera in third person mode to select a view you prefer. In this respect the game is nearly perfect. I cannot recall an instance where I could not see and control the character exactly as I wanted to.

I rode several horses and fought from them as well. I have read that the horse control is bad, but it does not seem to be the case with the 1.6 version. I would be more critical if this was a horse racing game or something, but as an interesting diversion in a fantasy-based RPG, the horses are OK.

The game controls character stats, inventory, magic, maps and quest logs, etc. in its own way. As I mentioned before, this is one game where you really should take the time to read the manual. Although the manual is large (130 pages), it is easy reading and the information it contains will clear up a lot of potential confusion.

Game mechanics: Unlike some RPGs, this one is not a click fest. Your character needs to move and deliver combinations of blows and magic spells to survive. In this sense, Two Worlds is a "fighting game." There are a lot of possible combination moves and fighting techniques, but the player does not have many of them at the beginning. You have to meet "trainers" to unlock these skills. Those who find themselves getting killed a lot in the beginning are probably trying to "mouse click" their way to victory and only use ¼ of their character's fighting capabilities. I had some practice by playing the demo, so by the time I started playing the full game, I had little difficulty keeping my character alive. I would guess it will take most people anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours of game play to get proficient with the combat system.

The magic system is excellent and flexible. The player starts out having basic training in two of the five schools of magic. The player can then level up in a school of magic rather than leveling up a particular spell so whole groups of spells can be enhanced. Incidentally, there is a lot of "overlap" in the spells used by the different schools, so in practical terms the 5 schools are more like 2 schools. Using a card system, the spells in the same school can be combined in various ways to form different spells. Further, "booster" spells, which can apply to spells of all schools, can be added to gain enhanced effects.

Storyline: I have spent very little time playing the main quest as yet, but most of the side quests seem to tie into events that spin off of the main quest.

There are many factions in the game. As a generalization, everyone claims that their group is the good guys. The game employs a "political intrigue" sub-plot, so it is difficult to know who you should trust.

Sound: The music is great, although there is not enough of it to keep from repeating quite a bit. If you get tired of it, the solution is easy: turn down the music volume.

Some critics have complained about the dialog, but it is no worse than many dubbed movies. If anything is lacking, it is the character animation during the dialog, and it was good enough to advance the plot.

So how good is the game overall? I rate it 5 out of 5 even though the game has a mildly steep learning curve and some unconventional ways of doing things. If you have a reasonably strong PC and read the game manual, you should enjoy the experience.

I was all hyped by this game after reading about it on the net. I foolishly pre-ordered it thinking it might be a fun hack'n'slash like Diablo or Sacred.

I was wrong.

For an RPG, you have one choice and one choice only in the singleplayer game. Male. Human. That's it.

There are no classes. No races. You can allocate points to different skills but your combat will come down to this for every fight, I'm not kidding. Right click (fireball), rclick, rclick, rclick. Out of mana. Sword/staff L click, L click, L click.

You can't target mobs. You can't change targets. The game targets for you. You cant click a body to loot it. You have to walk up to it, an 'eye' appears and you hit the spacebar to interact with it. There is no mouse pointer on the screen at all. I hate not having control over what I want to do in a game. Let me choose my target, please.

The mobs, and boy the variety you'll see (wolves, bears, and boars), all come in packs of 5 or more. You won't find a single mob in this game it seems. The graphics are subpar. I read somewhere this graphics engine was being developed in 1998. Believe me, it shows.

The sound..I could go on and on about the sound. Suffice it to say, if you have a Creative card, GOOD LUCK getting it to work. I finally manged to, don't ask me how. The FAQ suggests (get this), removing your Creative driver and going back and using the ol' MS generic drivers as a fix. I guess they really are thinking in 1998, eh?

The quests aren't fun, the voiceovers are horrid, and fighting from mounts? Good luck controlling your mount or steering it. You'll dismount for ALL of your combat you'll get so fed up with it.

I'm not trusting any new SOUTHPEAK for any games again. No more eastern european game designers for me. I'm done with them. They've always dissapointed me (Beyond Divinity anyone?)

Trust me..pass this one by.

To feed my Forza Motorsport 2 hunger, I decided to purchase this game. I'm a big fan of Japanese cars. All my cars are Japanese. Import Tuner focuses on...you guessed it...import cars, mainly Japanese brand carsToyota, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Mazda, and Nissan. People ask..so where's Honda? Licensing issues prevented Genki developers from including Honda.

This game delivers TONS of customizations. You can basically calibrate and modify your car based on parts you buy. However, buying upgrade parts for your car isn't that easy. All upgrade parts are level-based meaning you need to beat a boss or win races against a few rival teams to get a new level of parts to purchase. Parts don't come cheap so just racing one rival after another won't get you the goods you need once you face a fully-modified car. You'll have to go back and find a rival team you already beat and race him over and over until you get enough credit points to purchase the parts.

The game requires a lot of patience since you'll be pitted against every import car. There are two ways of challenging rivals. You either hit the streets and challenge OR you can go to the parking area and challenge racers there. To beat the game, you'll have to challenge both street racers and those who hangout by the parking lot.

The tracks are based on real highways in Japan. All the the highways have been faithfully recreated in this game. Now...since this is a race along freeway, you won't be using much of your drifting skills here since you won't find any hairpin turns. Most of the turns are like the Exit ramps you take on our Interstate highways here in the US. This should give you an idea on what's in store for you. Majority of the tracks here are straightways, a few exit ramps turns will test your turning skills. Don't be fooled though. You'll be faced with traffic on the highways. There will trucks and cars driving merrily along the highway while you're speeding at 200mph. The traffic will sharpen your skills on avoidance and overtaking. The game is quite tough on errors you make. You hit a car or a railing and chances are the rival driver will be right on your tail.

There are two modes of races here: SP battles and Time Attack. SP battles are like health meters. The farther the rival is ahead of you, the faster your health meter goes down. You hit a railing or a car and that penalizes your SP meter. The object of SP battle is to run your rival's SP meter dry. That means you'll have to outrace him or punish him by trapping him on a lane where a slow moving vehicle is right in front of him and then you accelerate at high speed to leave him behind. You can use traffic to your advantage by nudging the rival car on the side and pushing him towards an embankment. I know it's bad but hey...you gotta win by any means necessary. Time attack on the other hand is simply a race to the finish line. Why it's called Time attack just boggles the mind. This game was made in Japan so expect some translation hiccups here and there. Poorly translated Japanese terms abound in this game so expect to see weird rival names like Betelguese of the Night, Mundane Omnipotent, Cornering Opera, Mundane Zeus, Astellion Flower, and my favorite... Cat X Cat.

Graphics was where I was a bit disappointed. Genki didn't use the full power of the Xbox360. Somehow it didn't look quite next-gen to me. Also, there are horrible frame rate issues. The game just grinds to a stuttering frame rate when you have three or four rivals on screen. There are a few drawing issues as well. Sometimes, while driving, you'll notice that there's just a black empty space at the end of the ramp. Fear not, the game suffers from redrawing issues. But these issues shouldn't deter you from playing this game. AI is something that's a so-so. You will find rivals who drive like Ms. Daisy or sometimes against a rival who drives like Mario Andretti, Nicki Lauda, and Colin McRae. Most of the AI seem to be afraid to take the risk of making sharp turns at full speed. They seem to brake quite a few meters too far from the turn's entry point. As a result, you can easily take advantage of this and cut in front of them.

So...what's a good gaming tip here. Like any other tuner games, there are three things you need to focus on to win in this game: SPEED, WEIGHT, AND HANDLING. That means you need to upgrade your engine, your body, and your suspension. Don't dwell too much on making your car look like Fast and Furiousque. Concentrate first on winning a few races and invest on the three main aspects of the car. ANy part that will make your car 100lbs heavier should be compensated by a body upgrade that will make it lighter. I've beaten this game by using just one car.

Here's what I did: I purchased the Nissan Fairlady (fastest among the cheapest starter cars). I raced the hell out of it and upgraded it. Then I began challenging several rivals over and over again till I was winning 500K credit points per race. Once I got to about 4 million credit points, I bought my favorite and possibly the fastest tuner car in the game: Mitsubishi Evolution IX. I then sold my Fairlady and then upgraded the engine to the highest possible level I could get. Slowly I began upgrading the three main aspects of the car. By the time I got to about 80% of game completion, I was beating every car and rival I was up against. The Mitsubishi Evolution is by far the best tuner car I have ever dealt with, be it Forza Motorsport or Import Tuner. Try the Evolution and win every race.

In closing, this game is highly recommended. It has it's own technical issues but the fun factor is definitely in the game. Go for it.

This game is made by the same company that produced the Tokyo Extreme Racer series. The game play is exactly like TXR, expect the controls are a little bit tighter than they were in the previous installments of the game. The graphics in the game are very well done, but they are not next gen graphics. There is only about 10 or so cars in the game but hundreds of upgrades. The level of customization is unbeleiveable. You can cusotmize every thing from the height of the car to what the steering wheel look like. The reason I rated the game 5 starts is because the game is so much fun to play. There is no story line in the game; the main focus is to race and beat all of your rivals. All of the reviews that compare this game to Need for Speed: Underground are very misleading because Import tuner is totally different than NFSU. NFSU is an arcade sim aimed at the mass market where Import tuner is aimed at a small niche of racing fans.

If you have ever played any of TXR series you will love this game, if not you might want to rent it first.

Best Deals for Import Tuner Challenge - Xbox 360

This game has recieved absolutely no hype. I walked into EB a few days before the game's release to preorder, and no one there had even heard of it. Usually when that happens, a game has been rushed through development, is released prematurely, and as a result, the game blows.

That is not the case here.

Import Tuner Challenge is effectively the next in the line of Shutokou Battle or Tokyo Xtreme Racer (henceforth referred to as TXR) games. However, it's received a change of name, and was produced by Ubisoft instead of Crave. This has led to a few minor changes to the game. First off, this looks MUCH better than any of the previous TXR games. It won't blow a game like Test Drive Unlimited out of the water, but it's certainly a step up from NFS:MW or Ridge Racer 6. The streets of Tokyo are beautifully recreated here. The cars are well-rendered, all high-poly models. The lighting effects are up there with the best of the racing games. As far as sound goes, the techno racing tunes are uninspired, but work for the game. While I believe that the music was well-chosen for the game, I could wholly understand someone disliking it very much. Really, though, the highlight here is the sound of the cars. As you spend time upgrading your car's engine and exhaust, you can hear a difference with every little change you make. You start out with a quiet machine, and after just a few upgrades, you can hear the turbo whirring and the sounds of the wastegate. This is just extraordinarily cool for the real gearheads. To some people, this may mean nothing. However, I find it quite refreshing to hear a car sound similar to how it would in real life.

For those who haven't played a TXR game before, you're probably wondering HOW DOES IT PLAY? so I'll get to that now. The formula is simple: race, make money, upgrade car, race, buy new car, race, win money, race, ad nauseum. Sounds simple, right? It's a very basic game structure, but it works quite well. The way it's set up makes it very addictive. I personally logged over 28 hours of gameplay in the first 3 days I owned the game, and missed many a class. If you play this game, you WILL find yourself trying to find every minute possible to race and upgrade your car. This is because of the tuning system, which, while not quite on par with TXR 2 on Dreamcast or TXR 0 on PS2, is better than any other Xbox 360 game, bar none. This blows Need for Speed Most Wanted out of the water.

However, it's not for everyone. If you want to simply upgrade a car with the press of a button, take it out on the street, and beat every race without any trouble, buy Need for Speed Most Wanted. It's a solid game. That said, if you truly want a game that allows you to tune every aspect of your car, this is for you.

Plusses and minuses:

+Addictive gameplay

+Long game-should take at least 50 hours to beat

+Beautiful graphics

+Incredible tuning options

+amazing sense of speed

-Some may find the formulaic gameplay to get old

-For the first hour or so, it feels different from TXR

I'm sure this game won't get the respect that it deserves, but if you're looking for an in-depth tuning and racing game for the X360, this is for you.

A decent game if you are into this type of racer.

Having played Tokyo Highway Battle PS1, Tokyo Extreme Racer 1 and 2 Dreamcast, and Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero and Tokyo Extreme Racer 3 I am a fan. It is the same people that made it. Ignore the cheesy title.

Let's talk about the bad:

Much less cars. Like about 15 (seriously). They left out a lot of cars. The series was much better when they did not have licensed cars. The selection and variety was awesome.

The graphics aren't great for what it should be. Looks more like a last generation game. This must be played on the best resolution as possible.

There is no vibration feedback for the controller at all and using a wheel there is definitely no force feedback.

Some routes are missing in this game.

The online community is pretty much dead.

Overall you can tell that these guys were lazy. It could have been much better. So much potential thrown away.

As for the good it plays just like their previous games. It is much better than TXR3 because the civilian cars have returned (the worst in the series IMO). The physics have improved. The livery editor is not good at all but better than nothing. The appearance modifications are great. There is a cockpit view. Sense of speed is good. The graphics are the best in the series. The feel and flavor is still there.

Previous fans will like this. This is a like or hate affair. I would not say love just because they got lazy and left so much out and took a step backwards.

This is probably the most real street racing you can get without being tacky like other street racing games. Although the names given and car crews and members names are funny in a good way. If you like Japanese cars and roll racing this is it.

Having been a big fan of the original STALKER, I was very eager to get my hands on this prequel. After a few days with it I have to ask: could this game actually have been made in Chernobyl? Because it is infested by pretty serious radioactive bugs! But first things first.

Like its predecessor, STALKER:CS has amazing graphics and, yes, they are demanding. Barely making minimum requirements means barely enjoying the game visually. Having said that, I have to admire the work that went into the graphical design, from playful rays of light and shadows of moving branches to dilapidated buildings and endless skies, the game will grab you from the opening scene.

The gameplay does not veer off the original but there are more customization options, both regarding the weapons and your character. What one will notice early on is that STALKER:CS is a harder game. Not only are artifacts much scarcer (making it harder to save up for that precious suit which will allow you to reach more precious artifacts...) but there are also instances when your character could be stripped of everything! Immersion is one thing, aggravation quite another.

Speaking of which, be prepared to experience not a few crashes and freezes. The game was either rushed and still in beta(!) or this is another form of Russian anti-piracy method: release the game unstable and then keep it dependent on downloadable patches. In any case, wait for the major patches to be released because saved games will usually not work with later patches.

On a final note, Amazon.com customers should count our blessings: everywhere else in the world (including Amazon.co.uk) STALKER:CS harbors StarFORCE but not here!

Thank God for anti-rad and class-action suits!

Let me preface by saying that I am a huge fan of the first STALKER and played the redux mod numerous times so a few glitches and crashes don't annoy me all that much. I got the game immediately upon release and installed and played it for several hours before the game repeatedly crashed at the same point. I went and installed the most recent patch I could find and things became more stable. Unfortunately, my saved games were not compatible so I had to start over from the beginning.... Oh well, the game is fun as hell and I really love the new maps and little changes to the original ones. If you were a fan of the first STALKER this is a must own just be sure to patch it before you play.

I played Shadow of Chernobyl five times in a row. Finish it. Start again. Ridiculous, but true. It had plenty of bugs and issues and required a lot of patience, but it was completely worth it.

Having loved the first game, I was incredibly excited about the release of Clear Sky and have watched it as it developed over the last year. There have been a lot of negative reviews from various sources, and yes, this game is also very buggy. It has the Stalker Curse of hardware issues and wierd problems.

But I've been playing it for several days now with no significant (read as "game stopping") issues, and it is every bit as cool as I hoped it would be. I'm loving it as much if not more than Shadow of Chernobyl.

So, if you're patient and not afraid of the fixer-upper games that GSC is apparently intent on releasing, and you liked the first Stalker... I say give it a go.

Its brilliant and brutal, just like the original.

Honest reviews on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky - PC

STALKER Clear Sky (SCS) is a sandbox shooter in the style of Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2. As with those examples, SCS is a long game as compared to many more linear FPS games. The extra time consists largely of traveling from one place to another, but this format also facilitates a more complex scheme of interaction between the player and the game environment. There are many places to explore, objects to uncover, and interactions with the game's many characters.

Being more of a fan of mindless run-and-gun FPS games, this is not my favorite game. Nonetheless, there is no doubt that a huge effort went into creating the STALKER games (including Shadow of Chernobyl) and the outcome of that effort was an impressively detailed and well orchestrated adventure. To me, Clear Sky is a thoughtful improvement over Chernobyl and is the better of the two games, but Clear Sky also capitalizes on the first game. Changing it too much would ruin it and disappoint those who got Clear Sky hoping to get more of what Chernobyl offered.

I admit I did a terrible job of playing the game, so probably didn't get the level of enjoyment possible by someone who immerses themselves in it more deeply. I went from mission to mission with very little exploring. I had no money and never did any trading. I finished the game on the VETERAN difficulty level without ever having a suit with any protection from radiation or bullets. I highly recommend having a look at one of the guides available on the internet. A few pointers can save you some grief and make the game more fun.

At the time I installed it, there was one patch available, which I installed. I had no technical trouble with the game under Vista x64 running on a core 2 duo with 4GB ram and dual SLI-linked 8800GTS 512 GPUs. I had video options set to max and the graphics were definitely on the leading edge of what's commercially available. There is a huge amount of detail to the environment, excellent lighting effects, and weather so real you can almost feel it. The lightning storms are impressive. One in particular was just stunning. You could see the bolts of lighting flash in the sky and the entire landscape would flash in harsh bright black and white with stark directional shadows. The best weather effect I've seen in any game to date.

Depth of field was a nice effect and worked smoothly without being an annoyance. Sound effects and voice acting were also top shelf. Aside from what it takes to accomplish a mission, I don't usually pay much attention to story line or character development, so I won't speak to that. The game allows user saves, including quick saves and it allows you to change the difficulty level mid-game which is a rarity.

I recently finished Far Cry 2 and thought SCS was a far better game in terms of variety, surprises, and action. SCS compares favorably with Fallout 3 in that the area of exploration is huge and each place is not just more of the same (as seemed to be the case with Far Cry 2).

The things I personally didn't care for in SCS were the annoying (invisible) radiation fields that you could stumble into as well as the amount of non-fighting game play that is required. I prefer non-stop shooting, but that's not a strike against the game so much as saying that this game targets those gamers who like to get more engaged in the RPG aspects of the story and environment.

Toward the end, the game seems to slip into more of a traditional FPS in that the missions (and shoot-outs) occur one after the other. As soon as you accomplish one aspect of a mission, you are immediately pointed toward the next step and the shooting is almost non-stop. Also, I really liked the environment better during these sequences. It was tough for me because, having no protection from bullets, I was easily killed and spent a lot of time watching the "LOADING..." screen. The game does not load very fast.

So, if you liked the first STALKER, Fallout 3, or Far Cry 2, you'll probably like SCS, which is the best (in my opinion) of all of them. It doesn't have a long learning curve, but take time to learn about the vests and the artifacts and what you can get by trading and upgrading weapons, etc. The manual could be better, but there are guides on the internet that make up for it.

I played the first one, which was really buggy but incredibly fun. This game had less bugs (1.5.05 retail patch) until towards the end of the game, where it would crash almost instantly. If you saved the game in a place that the game "didn't like," it would crash upon loading. For reference, my setup involves an AMD 6000, 3.5GB (recognized under XP, 4GB physical), Ati 4870 512MB, XP SP3, Ati 8.9 drivers. The 8.8 drivers seemed to cause the system to crash to desktop even more.

Anyway, game-play (when it's working) is absolutely incredible. Immersive, fun, challenging, visually stimulating, etc. About 80% into the game is where all the bugs showed up. That, coupled with the utterly lackluster ending (also bugged) killed the game for me (since I had expectations from the first game). I would gladly have waited another 6 months for a finished game, a finished ending and less bugs. This could easily have been a 5-star game.

Regardless of it's shortcomings, it's still a good game and I will be purchasing any future Stalker games. The plot, game-play and immersiveness are too good to pass up.

Street Fighter IV MadCatz Bundle - PC

Street Fighter IV is overall a great game with awesome graphics and great soundtrack. The only unfortunate thing for me is that my PC can't handle the graphics requirement and therefore suffers from periods of extreme lags. So, before you get all excited for the game, check to be sure that your PC has enough power to handle it. Because of this game, I also got introduced to XboxLive/WindowsLive environment you have to connect in order to play it seems... Can't say that I necessarily like it because I'd guess that part of the lag is due to this requirement. Wish I could just play offline.

Anyway, all that aside, 5 stars for this game! The controller is also quite suitable for the game. :)

I guess I was expecting more 3d or something else looks like Street Fighter Alpha!

The ability to choose multiple characters makes this a fun game to play also the controller is nice however to pull off the difficult moves it would be easier with a fight stick. I don't like the d-pad at all have to press really hard to actually pull off the difficult moves. I have not been able to unlock the final two characters yet. I'm also very disappointed that I have to log onto windows live on startup each time. That is a real pain especially since you want to play solo at times without being bothered by this.

I also had problems playing this the first time the DRM of the disc said I didn't have DMA turned on my dvd drive, but I did so I had to turn it on and off again before I was able to play this game.

If you are on a budget I would buy the regular version without the controller and then invest in a good stick for this game.

Except for these minor qualms I am very satisfied with this game its fun and it has lots of eye candy and hidden character to make you not want to put it down. If for whatever reason you get sick of it you can accept challenges and fight anyone. As soon as I turn it on someone always wants to challenge me I don't even have time to blink when the game gets old in a couple of years the challenges will be infrequent so enjoy it now while you can.

The reasons I gave it a 4 is for all those reasons cited above plus it takes about 4 some odd gig of disk space so if you have a small drive be warned I installed this on my Windows 7 test 40 gig partition and I had only 12 gigs and now with the game installed I only have 8 now.

Best Deals for Street Fighter IV MadCatz Bundle - PC

Yes, I like it a lot. Yes, I'm a fanboy. But Who wouldn't it?. Back to the classic Street Fighter with new characters: Rufus, Viper, Abel and Seth. With new movements as: focus attacks (it can absorb one hit and it can do an unbockeable hit, also it can cancell your atack) and Ultra combos (when your revenge bar has a good amount of hit received. you can perfome a special attack). In the PC version has better graphic with AA and AF, also It supports better resolution than its consoles counter part. It uses Games for windows live that it lacks of compatibilities and it has zone restrictions but When I played online I didn't have lag problems.

One thing that make this bundle great is the Ryu's fightpad included. Also this game support diferents gamepads. I tried: logitech dual action gamepad and Logitech wireless rumble pad. They work excellent but you have to configure the buttons because it has a different possition that xbox360.

I am avid gaming enthusiast who played games for over sixteen years. I also worked in the industry of gaming. After having played dozens of modern games on all current gen systems I've began to lean toward classics to give me some gaming diversity and to experience historical gaming.

As you may know Midway as a company does not exist now. They bankrupted sometime in 07 or 08 and the brand was eventually purchased by Warner Brothers who are now the owner and publisher of all Midway games. Until Midway went down Xbox Live had very nice versions of Midway games in digital download form. They were made by Digital Eclipse and were very nice. They always gave a perfectly emulated original game as well as newer and "improved" versions with higher definition art and backgrounds. These versions were taken off XBLA and for some time no one had access to Robotron 2084, Smash TV, Joust, etc etc.

This collection of games is developed for WB by somewhat legendary developer Backbone Entertainment who made collections of Sega games and other retro games before. They are all well emulated versions of original games. They have good screen options and background selections, but the actual games are just identical original games. You do not get options to play any kind of "improved" or HD versions of the classic games. Just a lot of original games.

I have to give this game 4 out of 5 because the original classics are all well done and emulated, have leaderboards, and decent controls. But since there are no improvements of any kind at all such as was done before by Digital Eclipse for XBLA a star has to be taken away.

I had to get it because currently it is the only way to play Midway games on modern consoles.

but really lacks in so many others. Judging by how quickly the game installs to the hard drive of my xbox 360, I definitely think they could have added quite a few more titles...However, for 30$, it's still a steal. Definitely kicks back the memory to yesteryear. It does seem to have a few quirks though. Numerous times my sound would cut out in mid game, but would come back after the level was over...Also, many fun aspects of the game are missing from some of the games as well..A few good examples are:

In Pitfighter, your opponent doesn't taunt you and in Rampage, it is impossible to change your character if you continue the game after being killed. The achievements are also insanely easy to get.

Also, it can be very hard at times with certain games to adapt to the 360 controller as far as general flow of the game.

Overall, it's a good game and it delivers 99% of what it should (sound cutting out really bugged me though). I would still highly recommend this game if either you want to recapture your gaming youth, or even check out what all the fuss of the past is about. Some very exciting titles in it and for a few dollars per title, you can't really beat it.

Honest reviews on Midway Arcade Origins

I'll keep this short. The emulations are spot on perfect. The game list contains some of the best action games of the arcade "glory days". The menu is simple, intuitive and works nicely. Many of these arcade compilations have been released in the past, this is one of the few in true, brilliant 1080p high definition, looks amazing on my big screen Samsung LCD (the prior PS2, Gamecube, etc generation releases looks fairly crappy on a newer HDTV). The experience is particularly fun when using external speakers (i.e. soundbar, home theater, etc), feels like standing in an arcade in the old days. This collection has inspired me to pick up an xbox 360 adapter for my x-arcade. The stock xbox 360 controller works nicely, particularly with dual-joystick games like Robotron and Smash TV. Last but not least, the budget price on this game makes it a no-brainer. I highly recommend this game to all those who remember the old arcade days fondly, or to newer gamers who want to experience the history of gaming in a nice, high definition package.

I already own Capcom Digital Collection and Namco Museum Virtual Arcade, so it goes without saying that I enjoy retro gaming. I was tempted to preorder Midway Arcade Origins but held off because the price of $29 seemed a bit high. When the price fell to $19 I got it and am happy with the purchase. None of the individual titles will get hours of stand alone game play but as a whole it is well worth owning.

I bought a white PS3 console from EZCorp which included the console, cords, and a wireless controller. The product is great. Nice, sleek, and quick at responding. I have been thinking of getting one for ages. I'm always one console behind, so with the PS4 coming out soon I figured it was a good time!

One thing I didn't realize with the PS3 is the fact that it downloads via the Wi-Fi. Well, I knew it, but it didn't occur to me how good that Wi-Fi needed to be. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE SUPER HIGH SPEED INTERNET THEN BUY THE GAME DISCS, don't buy from the Playstation Store. It can take an extremely long time for them to download. I do have high speed, but apparently it's not fast enough. That's not the PS3's fault though that's my internet provider. And downloading while it's wired works better. But if you buy the disc, it does fine since it doesn't have to deal with a full download.

As for the PS3 itself, it's great. A nice step up from the PS2 (though I still LOVE that console!).

My seller was amazing. I got the PS3 in two days without paying for two day shipping because my total (with shipping) came out to be $200.70. It was perfect and well packed. I recommend buying from EZCorp if you can it's worth it for a decent used item.

I bought this PS3 to replace an old one that broke down. Considering my old PS3 broke due to the BD not being able to "suck in" my disc, this was a great change. I love the amount of space in the hard drive and the quickness of the reader not changing. It is a smaller system, but it feels the same. It's a sexy little Playstation 3!

This is a rating for the consoles sold by EZCORP not the console itself.

I bought a 500GB console from EZCORP. I paid for 2 day shipping. It took 12 days to arrive. I came with all the cords and a controller. Controller has a broken analog stick. Went to format the drive and turns out the HDD in my 500GB CONSOLE is only 250GB. Kinda sucks that the 'like new' system that arrived is not what I had thought I ordered.

This is the first major thing I've bought used from amazon but the experience will make me thing twice about doing it again.

Moral of the story: BUY NEW.

Well if there was any doubt that the PS3 would be able to hit a homerun and kick start the console those fears can be laid to rest as Insomniac delivers one of the finest games to grace any console.

Ratchet and Clank Future: TOD will go down as one of those games that changed the landscape for platform games. Why? Well for one if you have ever had the dream of wanting to actually play a Pixar movie this is as close as you're going to get. The graphics are nothing short of amazing and truly shows off the real potential of what the PS3 is capable of producing. If you have an HDTV set that can handle 720p or higher you are in for a real treat as your TV is going to be bursting with smooth frame rates, tons of characters on screen and loads of beautiful colors. It's just total eye candy at every single turn. You will be blown away.

The game play is smooth as butter too. Smashing enemies and blowing things up is a real joy in this game and the action never lets up, not for a bit. The game has a pace to keep even the most hardcore gamer on their toes moving faster then a Lombax with his tail on fire it just keeps the adrenaline junky satisfied. You will not get bored playing this game.

Humor wise this is one of those rare games will you be laughing out loud to. This is like I stated above playing a Pixar movie. Not only for the graphics but the actual content of voice acting and story line. It's just fun all the way around.

One thing I wanted to point out that had me smiling from ear to ear was the sound. WOW! If you have a 7.1 system you will be blown away by the uncompressed 7.1 PCM that this game delivers. This is what your home theater system was bought for and it really shines in this game. Totally immersing and very impressive down to the last bolt pinging across the room in glorious 7.1!

In closing this is without a doubt a must have game. This is the type of game that can and will sell systems. PS3 owners can breathe a sigh of relief that all the promise of the great next gen games that were coming for the PS3 have finally started to arrive and Ratchet and Clank is a benchmark of excellence that will be leading the way into the holiday season.

Enjoy!

I have always been a little slow on getting into platformers. Usually my intrest wains after a few hours. As beautiful as this game is I was thinking I would fall into the same trap. So I decided to give it an hour. I couldn't put the controller down. The problem became so bad that I couldn't get up. Yes it is that addictive.

What makes this game a masterpiece is not just the beautiful graphics or the exciting storyline. The fun characters keep it going but what really impresses me is the diversity of each level. I have played this game for over six hours and each level looks completly different from the next. From being in the asteroid belt to going to a destroyed city and then travelling thru a prehistoric land.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction should be on everyones buy list. This is what gaming is all about. For children or adults this game doesn't discriminate. Never overlly difficult and not to simple. This game does it well on all levels.

Best Deals for Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - Playstation 3

This is arguably best platformer I have ever played. This game really captures the feel of a pixar movie and throws in great gameplay. If you have a PS3, you owe it to yourself to buy this game. If you do not have a PS3, well you're just crazy ;) this machine is pure class.

This is the best looking game 'til date on any platform. I literately just stop playing and admire the beautiful environment.

Pros

+ Best graphics this generation so far. This is Pixar quality people!

+ Gameplay is very well done.

+ Very fun to play

+ Crazy weapons that will have you trying different things out for days. Groovitron will rock you!

+ Good Lasting Appeal. Like all Rachet and Clank games this one will give you alot of mini games and reruns to keep you busy.

+ 12-15 hrs of regular game without counting the extras.

Cons:

If your played the previous games, it may not seem as original...

Yeah I really have to reach to come out with a negative, sorry there just isnt much wrong with this game.

Don't believe me? How about the critics?

100/100 GamePro

An amazing PS3 game that fully leverages the power of the console. It sets the bar high for not only the series but for all PS3 games to come. It is, without a doubt, reason enough to buy the system.

100/100 GameTap

It's rare that a game critic feels the way I do about this game, but in all honesty, I find it really difficult to find something that's not to like. The controls feel great. The graphics look great. The score sounds great. The weapon selection alone make me want to play the game over and over again, just to test out all the cool offered.

95/100 PSM Magazine

Combines absolutely jaw-dropping graphics with familiar platforming/shooting mechanics and genuinely funny humor to make one of the PS3's few true masterpieces.

94/100 IGN

Not only has it supplanted Going Commando as the best title in the franchise, it's also the best game of any series on the PlayStation 3 thus far -and that's saying a lot when you're up against Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden, Warhawk and Insomniac's very own previous effort, Resistance: Fall of Man.

New York Times "This is like playing a Pixar movie"

Honest reviews on Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction - Playstation 3

Let's face it you love the PS3 and everything about it, except the games that are out. You were wondering when is that game going to come out that is going to make it truly irresistible to own the PS3 for those who are hesitant buying it just for the blu-ray movie value. This is that game! Our family has always been fans of the R&C series and own all the games except the PSP "Size Matters" game.

The graphics and sound are truly stunning in this game. I agree with the other reviewer who died looking at the backgrounds you will keep falling off the map watching the graphics in the game. With this R&C you believe you are playing in a Pixar movie.

This is the game we have been waiting for one that is truly playable and looks and sounds amazing. It's time to buy that PS3 if you don't own one already.

I bought the 2in1 combo silicone skins for my son as a gift, he loved them! They fit his controller great and they are not too hard to put on. Great product quality! Will buy from them again.

I was skeptical about ordering this product due to no reviews. I was not sure it would be a cheap knock off of some sort with fake, thin plastic that I would probably end cutting it to size for the controller(s).

But I was wrong.

These silicone protectors fit the controller perfectly! No cutting to size around anything. Either the joysticks, D-pad, buttons, or triggers. I have the black and green one on a silver Microsoft wireless controller with the rechargeable battery pack. The opening for the charging port is outlined wonderfully so as not to interfere with the connection at all. Plus there is a slit for your headphones that is the same way. No hassle connecting anything. I also have the blue, white marbled one on a wired Microsoft controller. It fits the same way, perfectly with no slippage on the controller nor covering anything that it is not suppose to or getting in the way of the wire. I did notice one small tear between the start button and colored (action) buttons, but that might be from the way I put the protector on. I figured a little super glue or something will take care of that. Just watch that spot when you put them on for the silicone is thin there. It only happened on the blue, white marbled one.

The colors are vibrant, but a little darker in real life than the pictures. Which doesn't bother me. They are not faded or badly colored due to plastic issues not accepting color or just poor product in general. They simply came in a white zip-locked bag waiting patiently to be put on. I didn't notice any funny smells when opening the package either, but my nose is not the best smeller either.

Note: I do want to add the reason for me putting 'Microsoft' controllers is because I used these on actual Microsoft products, not the third party knock offs, for fitting purposely. Thank you.

Before I get into my thoughts on the Blu-Link remote, I'll start by saying that I've purchased and returned two Logitech Harmony universal remotes. The Harmony Xbox 360 remote and the almighty Harmony One to be precise. These are the only products I've ever returned on Amazon.com. They were nice enough remotes to look at, and the computerized setup was convenient. I just couldn't get past the delay in button presses. No matter how you set the inter-device or inter-key delay for the remote, there is a noticeable delay between pressing a button and seeing the result. (For example: Holding down the volume button for an A/V receiver for a few seconds would result in about 3-4 extra commands after you let go of the button. Annoying) I am far from the only user to be bothered by this, as a quick Google search can yield innumerable results on the topic.

The Blu-Link remote doesn't have a computerized setup, a display, or a charging station. I give it 5 stars nonetheless. It does what it's supposed to do, and does it at a reasonable price. Using the supplied codes, I had my PS3, Samsung TV, Onkyo A/V receiver, and DirecTV HD-DVR up and running MOST of the way within a couple of minutes. I then spent 5, count 'em, 5 minutes using the remote's "learning" feature to fill in the remaining functionality. Notably, I ran into the same problem that another reviewer had with my A/V receiver, in that it would power it on, but not off. Teaching the Blu-Link the Onkyo remote's power code directly alleviated this problem. Various other commands were learned from my old Onkyo remote, but the DVR and TV were good to go using only the supplied codes. The volume master feature works as it should, sending all volume commands to the AUX input, the Onkyo receiver. The manual also explains how to set up a master volume device, but to also be able to control the TV's volume when you're on the TV input. (I mention this after seeing another reviewer's frustration with trying to do that)

Now, for the reason I was so excited about this remote in the first place: The ability to control the PS3. I can tell you that it works flawlessly. Power on, power off, video/music playback, menu navigation, just about everything you can do with the PS3 controller can be done with the Blu-Link remote. To power on, you simply hit the PS3 input selector. To power off, you hold the "Home" button, just like you would on a PS3 controller, and select "Power off device". Simple! The only ommission I've seen is the lack of "L" and "R" buttons. The only use I would have for them is webpage back/forward keys, (which is still easily done by hitting "triangle" and selecting it from the menu) but since I don't do much web browsing on the PS3 it's not a big deal.

The finish of the remote is very attractive, and I find the button layout to be very comfortable. Be aware that the buttons are quite small, namely the number keys and transport buttons. (FF, RW, etc.) Those with large hands may have problems.

I spent less than 10 minutes setting up this remote to control all of my components, and have been loving it in the time since. Yes, I have to manually adjust inputs when watching a movie instead of hitting a singular "Activity" key, but I also don't have to deal with the delays present in Logitech remotes. The PS3 control is fantastic, and you can get the Blu-Link remote for $10 less than the price of the Logitech PS3 adapter alone!

If you're unhappy with Harmony remotes, and you're a PS3 owner, this is a no-brainer. Buy it now!

Edit (4/15/2011):

I bought this remote a year ago, but it didn't do its job well for more than six months. It continued to function as a universal remote, but the bluetooth became so spotty to the point of worthlessness. It wouldn't remain connected to the PS3 for more than 10 seconds, so it would connect and I'd have to quickly scroll through menus before it'd disconnect. Then I'd wait another 10 seconds for it to reconnect and I'd start the mad shuffle again. Not a fun way to live life. I tried calling and emailing customer support on many occasions, but they've gone dark. So, I got a Harmony remote with their bluetooth adapter and haven't looked back. It's a far more expensive option, but I've had no difficulties with it, and I'm pretty sure Logitech will answer my calls. I don't like saying it, but I recommend looking elsewhere for your PS3 controlling needs.

Original:

I really want to love this remote, and I almost do. There's just a few kinks that I'm really having a hard time living with. Let me break down my loves and hates:

Love:

Almost eliminates 6 remotes/controllers (the "almost" is explained below)

"Teaching" commands is a breeze

Has a wide variety of buttons so I can logically assign buttons

Feels good in my hand (I don't think the buttons are too small, and I have normal sized guy hands)

Hate:

Only 50 programmable commands, globally. This means you can only "teach" the remote 50 new things across all devices. I ran out before I even got to my receiver's remote, so I've had to go back and pick and choose which commands I'll actually need regularly.

If you leave the remote in PS3 mode for a long time (60 minutes?) it will stop controlling the PS3 until you turn the PS3 off/back on. I re-paired, too, but I don't know if that's a necessary step all of the time.

As to my first complaint, I called the company's support number and talked to the fella there (very nice guy) and he confirmed that there are only 50 programmable commands. I asked him if I could request a feature and that it be more memory for the next model. Perhaps if enough people request it we'll get our wish. The company's site .

For my second complaint, I recommend doing what you have to in PS3 (Bluetooth) mode and then change to some other mode. The Bluetooth probably just goes to sleep to conserve battery power, but it's very frustrating. So switch modes and I think everything will be okay.

Overall, I really do like this remote because it's one-of-a-kind. Why hasn't anyone else thought of making a IR/Bluetooth remote? Who knows. But they haven't, so this is the best there is for now. It's definitely first-gen, but a great attempt. Hopefully they'll iron out the bugs and the next version will completely rock. I know I'm game to get an update.

Best Deals for SMK-Link PS3 Blu-Link Universal Remote Control

I recommend this remote for anyone that has a PS3. For only a few dollars more than the standard PS3 Bluetooth remote, you also get IR capabilities to control other devices. I also wanted to echo a previous reviewer that pointed out that this remote does not have a delay when you press the buttons so refreshing. I'm also using this on a PS3 Slim and it works perfectly so I must have one of the newer versions.

If you're looking for a remote that can configure macros, this does not have that feature. I didn't need that feature since everything I have is connected through HDMI and is using HDMI CEC for synchronizing power state everything turns on and switches to the right input automatically.

These are the devices I am controlling: Onkyo TX-SR607 A/V receiver, Panasonic TC-P58V10 58" Plasma TV, PS3 Slim & Windows 7 HTPC running Windows Media Center and Media Player Classic Home Cinema.

Honest reviews on SMK-Link PS3 Blu-Link Universal Remote Control

This remote was on my Christmas list because Sony doesn't provide a remote for watching movies on the PS3. (Don't expect to use this remote as another game controller even though it has some controller buttons.) The universal remote capability was an added bonus. I was pleased with it until it stopped working with the PS3 Slim. During the middle of the first movie I watched it suddenly wouldn't control any PS3 functions. I found out from the manufacturer (and other reviews here) that this is a problem with the first 1,000 made which is apparently all that Amazon carries. (I think Amazon should note the Slim issue in its description.) Sony apparently changed the firmware on the PS3 Slim model making this remote inoperable. I like this remote so I am awaiting a replacement with a firmware update but I will have to pay return shipping for the old one. On the plus side this remote operates my HDTV and TiVo HD with no problems. It learns your other remote functions easliy if you want to change them. It is a little small but buttons are generally laid out well. I still find myself using my TiVo remote frequently because I'm so familiar with it but with practice this remote would function almost as well. A back light would be nice, too. All in all I was pleased with this remote but if you need PS3 Slim functionality make sure you find one with the newest firmware unless you want to pay additionally for return shipping.

Was fairly happy with this remote when I first got it. It was easy to set up with all my devices and worked fine for my PS3(not slim). Not that it is without problems. The buttons are way too small, there are no page up and down buttons, it's impossible to use in the dark, the blinking blue light when in PS3 mode is annoying, but at least it worked with the PS3.

After a week it stopped controlling my PS3. I called and left a message with customer support and emailed them, but have not received a reply. I'm stuck with a useless remote. Save your money.

Update: Company finally responded to my service request and sent me a new remote. It paired fine and controlled the PS3. However, I will not be able say whether it continues to. I bought the Sony remote, which I love, and am using that instead.

Frogger Beyond

Frogger Beyond is the next in the line of "new" Frogger games made by Konami. Konami and Hasbro have been battling it out for the contracts to create these games, Konami got the contract but this go-around, they took some careful notes from Hasbro.

First and foremost, if you like Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge, you'll love this game, period. I loved Swampy's Revenge and was apprehensive about this game because I played Frogger: The Great Quest for Playstation 2. That was by far one of the worst console games I've ever played. It was full of problems and seemed completely under-developed. The Frogger character had poor control and in a couple parts he even got stuck to the point I had to reboot my PS2 to continue. You will see nothing of the sort in this sequel.

This game has clean and crisp graphics. The cell shading technique is done so well that you'll rarely see any jagged edges except for in a few of the FMVs (full motion videos). If you've played any of the other Frogger games, this aspect is one of the first things you'll notice. Most people do not buy this genre of game for the graphics themselves, but they really do look nice (this is in reference to the XBOX version). Some of the top-down levels are a little disorienting and difficult to get used to, but this does not take longer than loosing a few lives. I think younger kids will get past this without difficulty.

I read a complaint about the sound being poor but I have to disagree. This game features full Dolby 5.1 surround and it sounds great on my Dolby system. My only complaint about the sound, is the music done for the menus is out of place and annoying. It's sort of rap music that just gets on your nerves. It's best to type fast, pick your level and start playing!

I'm a 24 year old guy and this game has a lot of replay value and challenge. My wife and I both enjoy this game even at different gaming levels. I would recommend this for any child age 7 and up. There are several wonderful features that were added to this new version of Frogger in addition to the stuff mentioned above. You now only have to push one button to perform a double-jump. In Swampy's Revenge you had to hit the button twice to do a double jump and the timing was sometimes difficult. You also have a super jump that allows you to jump straight up in the air much higher than normal to get coins. You can also buy power-ups with you coins. In Swampy's Revenge when you got 100 coins you got a free life. In Frogger Beyond you now have a shop you can visit in-between levels to purchase power-ups which can be used during game play.

Here's the bottom line, this game is worth picking up. Konami did a great job and I truly appreciate the affordable price tag for a brand new game. If you have a gamer in the house that enjoys a great adventure game, this will be a great game for people of all ages.

Frogger is one of the most addictive games I've ever played, and the new Frogger Beyond for XBox is even better! There are virtually endless levels and the graphics are exceptional--much better than the arcade version. It's kind of fun to see what the developers have imagined for Froggy's home world over the years since the original Frogger game came out. I think any fan of that arcade classic will approve of the new and massively improved version. This is money--and time--well spent!

This game is addictive, and so much fun. If any of you actually remember the old frogger for Atari, and liked it, this game is a must. Frogger gets a make-over, and what a great make-over it is. I love this game. It has been in my xbox since I bought it a week ago. I can't stop playing it.

I first got this game when the xbox first came out. Now I am playing it again for the first time nearly 10 years later. It is a great, challenging game.

This modern 3-D update on the classic arcade game is very enjoyable. It is perfect for kids and even adults who aren't advanced enough for some of the faster paced technical games that are out there. There are plenty of levels so it doesn't get boring and is complicated enough to make it challenging without being overwhelming.

Serious Sam 2 - Xbox Reviews

There's not much that can really be said in reviewing a game like this. If you've played the previous Serious Sam games, you know what to expect and you won't really be dissapointed.

If you've not played them, however, just try to imagine a game like Smash TV or Total Carnage in third person. You travel through gorgeous environments and battle wave after wave after wave of enemies that keep rushing at you, eager to blow themselves up or tackle you.

One thing, though, and the title of this review should have tipped you off, but you're better off going with the PC version. The Xbox graphics are fine, but they could be so much better.

The most troubling and inexplicable difference between the two versions, however, is that the final boss of the game is totally absent in the Xbox version. This seems like a terribly bizarre decision and there's no real reason for it. If that's important to you, go with the PC version. Serious Sam is, after all, notable for its boss battles. To remove one (and the final one, at that) is simply baffling and ultimately dissapointing.

It seems that Serious Sam II didn't get the same attention as the earlier Sam's, but this is far and away my favorite episode, and ranks in my top 10 all-time favorite video games in fact it may be my #1 based on the number of times I've played it. It is somewhat more 'cartoony' than the earlier Sam's, which is exactly why I enjoy it. There is some Serious humor in this one, especially in the cut scenes, and the diversity of the worlds makes it fun over and and over. I think I've played this through more than a dozen times. There are also some really great vehicles to use. I am not a great fan of splattering blood and dead corpses, and in this game the enemies destruct in satisfying yet non-gory ways, then quickly vanish. I for one highly recommend this game and wish there were more FPS's that would take this approach. I purchased this Xbox version as a gift, but I myself play the PC version, over and over.

Best Deals for Serious Sam 2 - Xbox

As a fan of Serious Sam for many years, I played every Serious Sam title on PC and console, with the exception of Serious Sam II, due to bad reviews from reviewers and fans of Serious Sam. After many years, and because Serious Sam 3 is almost here, I decided to finally bite on this game and I'm very glad I did.

Yes, Serious Sam II is a departure from the main Serious Sam formula, which consists of tons of enemies spawning on an open, arena-based map; however, Serious Sam II is more about structure and variety instead of one large map with hundreds of spawning enemies. Taking lessons from games with more linear map design, Serious Sam II's enemy encounters are spread out and the levels have more natural flow to them, like in most recent games. Now, I'm not saying levels aren't large and open, because they most certainly are, but instead of one large square map, you actually have level design that somewhat funnels you down a path, which allows for more structure and variety in encounters.

Also, Serious Sam II has vehicles, which are fun and a nice change of pace. The first one you'll encounter is a dino that you can ride and take out enemies with.

I can understand why some older Serious Sam and Painkiller fans were turned off by this departure, but I actually enjoy that there's more meat to this adventure than just mindless action 100% of the time. Don't get me wrong, I also love mindless action, but Serious Sam II was a great departure and is vastly underappreciated.

Honest reviews on Serious Sam 2 - Xbox

Other reviewers have noted that this game is fast-paced with a lot of over-the-top action, so I won't reiterate what's already been documented. What this game has is irreverence and fun in literal truckloads. Yes, it's a button-mashing fire-fest. But the game has heart and I really enjoyed the character of "Serious Sam." His one-liners are simply hilarious and I can't imagine anyone not wanting to share an adventure with this muscle-bound wisecracker.

I'm hoping (fervently) for a "Serious Sam 3" for the 360; and you know what? I don't think even Uwe Boll could mess up a "Serious Sam" movie! He'd be a great character!

"SERIOUS SAM 2 XBOX"

Well, first let me say that I am a FPS(first person shooter) nut. However, I consider myself to be very picky. I don't like slow-down and I like good/realistic graphics. After playing a demo of Serious Sam(1) a couple of years ago I didn't give Serious Sam a second thought after about 5 minutes of play. Well, I played the demo for Serious Sam II and was pleasantly suprised(I'm so glad there was a demo, I'd have never tried it if there wasn't). So I bought this at my leasure and after playing it for about 20 minutes or so I realized I was hooked.

This game has the most action I've ever seen in a video game. It's not realistic at all, but that's one of it's charms. It's nothing short of a run-and-gun good time of a video game. To me it feels like what a video game should be like. Fast, fun and tons of action. Literally, it is almost non-stop action. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it's not overly dramatic with lots of corny one-liners and deliberate cliche characters and levels. This game is exactly what a video game should be like. Don't get me wrong, I still love the truly serious FPS, but this is a refreshing break from all the drama and it's a lot of fun too.

FUN, FUN, FUN is the best way to describe Serious Sam II. Nice graphics and tons of action. I'll play this over and over again because it's so addictive and it's a refreshing alternative to the truly serious FPS video games.
