Review of Xbox 360 - Charging Station

Xbox 360 - Charging Station
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

This charging dock is excellent and comes with two batteries for use with it. The one thing that you should know prior to buying this is that it takes special battery packs. You cannot charge your existing battery packs on this charger because the charger has to make a connection with the back of the packs. There is a metal piece on the back of the batteries that must make contact to provide a charge. They work great and I love this product but I wanted to let people know what I found.

I received an XBox 360 for Christmas 2010, and I quickly became weary of the idea of having to repeatedly buy AA batteries to keep my controllers functioning.

I purchased this product a year ago from a local electronic's store for $29.99 without knowing anything about the brand or the brand's products.

In no way do I regret the decision to buy this product. Intec took into consideration every possible factor that needs to be considered when purchasing a controller charger, and they greatly exceeded all of my expectations. A year later, this product is still running as great as it did with its first use, despite being used for nearly 100 charges.

The dock itself matches the aesthetic features of 360 controllers (the black and white ones at least), and the console itself. Though the entire shell is black, there is a silver lining adorning the front of the product, and the lights that illuminate when charging a controller glow in a green that matches the light that glows from the 360 console.

Underneath the dock is an indentation where the power cord can be stored if you are packing this item up and taking it on vacation or just to a friend's house, so there is no excuse to lose the cord. The end of the cord that you plug into an outlet is also small, and allows you to plug in other devices right next to it or on the top or bottom of it in a wall outlet or in a surge protector.

The back of the dock includes a power switch, which I thought was great for the power-saving aspect. Just remember to check and see if it is switched on when attempting to charge your controllers.

The top of the dock where the actual controller cradles are is crafted nicely, and the two slots serve as a great stand for controllers when you are not playing your console, whether your are charging them or not. Both controllers fit on the dock at the same time, though I must mention I only have OFFICIAL MICROSOFT controllers, and I never tried using off-brand controllers such as MADCATZ. I am not sure how this product fares as far as other controllers are concerned.

My favorite feature is the front of the product. When you charge the controllers, the green lights on the dock not only signal that the controllers are charging, but they also identify how many bars of power the batteries in the controllers have. I own many rechargeable docks for other consoles, such as the Wii and 3DS, and I must admit I wish this feature existed with those chargers as well. Of course, the dock also lets you know when the controllers are fully charged, which is when the bars on the front of the dock no longer flash and glow in a solid green.

The 2 battery packs that come with this dock feel exactly the same in the controller as the original battery packs that came with the controller. The charge lasts for what seems like 8-10 hours(I don't know the exact figure because I honestly never think about it since the charge lasts so long), and the batteries hold their charge for prolonged periods of inactivity as well. I once went an entire month without playing the 360, and when I turned on the controller for a few games of Madden, I still didn't need to charge the controller from the last time I played.

I appreciated this product so much that I purchased it for my brother in law this Christmas. This product is definitely worth the $30 price tag, especially when taking the price of batteries into consideration.

The reviewer who gave this product 2 stars must have received a faulty product. Trust me, this is a great deal. Although I did notice this seems to be more difficult to find, so I'm hoping Intec hasn't ceased production.

Comes with everything you need to make wireless controllers into re-chargable wireless controllers. I was tired of going through so many batteries. This works great and was less expensive than many other chargers and this one came with the batteries to charge! Highly reccomended.

Looked good enough quality wise, but the lower charging station quit working two weeks into the purchase. The lower charging station two weeks later. Cheap price, now I know why. Would not recommend this product.

In "G.H.O.S.T. Hunters: the Haunting of Majesty Manor", your job is to figure out who, or what, is haunting the manor by finding lists of items embedded in various rooms throughout the house.

I found this game to be very similar to the "Mystery Case Files" series as both are of the same "search & find" genre and they are about equal in terms of fun & difficulty level.

One neat addition to "Ghost Hunters" is the spectrometer. This tool becomes activated when you ask for a hint, allowing you to scan the room looking for "psychic energy" which will eventually lead you to one of the hidden items on the list.

Overall, I found this game to be really fun & addictive, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys "search & find" type games.

I purchased this for my wife and 5 year old son to play as I play real time strategy games on the PC. Well my wife asked me to sit and help the other night and im HOOKED.

This game was lots of fun and we had a blast trying to find the hidden pictures as a team. The spooky music and playing it at night with the lights off made it that much more fun.

I purchased 2 others from the maker as this was a blast and really keeps you on your toes....

This game came with a trojan horse. Luckily my computer protection captured it but I had to install more safety software to render it ineffective. Where do some of these games come from? How can we feel safe ordering them?

Honest reviews on G.H.O.S.T. Hunters - The Haunting of Majesty Manor

Viola Majesty is troubled by odd events at her Manor. She's been hearing strange noises, items are missing, and objects seem to be moving on their own. Desperate, she hires Ghost Hunters, Inc. to discover what is going on at Majesty Manor. As one of the members of the team you are given fifteen days to solve the case by looking for hidden objects in 19 rooms and eliminating 15 suspects. At the end of those 15 days, you will uncover the culprit in a final, fast paced round.

While "G.H.O.S.T. Hunters, the Haunting of Majesty Manor" is loosely wrapped around a mystery, players are not really actively involved in solving the mystery they do not question suspects, find clues, or play any part in really solving the mystery the game itself does all that for you. What players do is look for hidden objects in various locations. The hidden objects can be obvious for example if you are looking for a tie, look for a man wearing a tie. Other items are a bit more difficult to find for example a bat could be either a baseball bat or the mammal.

"G.H.O.S.T. Hunters, the Haunting of Majesty Manor" is a good game for players new to hidden object games. Unlike some hidden object games, there is more than enough time to solve each puzzle. There are also plenty of hints and a chance to get even more hints by locating batteries hidden in certain scenes. You do lose time if you click too fast or too randomly on objects, but there's no need to do either since there's so much time allowed. Once you find all the required objets you can either move on or stay for the "bonus" round which simply means find the remaining objects in each location (you have to find a set number of objects in each room to move to the next level). Unlike other hidden object games (such as the Mystery Case Files Series) there are no real bonus sections involving puzzles like jigsaw puzzles once you finish one level you move on to the next level. Even though you only have five minutes to solve each puzzle in the final round (which eliminates suspect after suspect), I found it incredibly easy to solve. Finally, while I usually find music in hidden object games add a lot of atmosphere to the game, the music in this game kept cutting in and out, disappearing completely for large stretches of the game, which means the majority of the game was played in silence (even the meter used for hints didn't always have sound, which made it hard to use the hints).

While "G.H.O.S.T. Hunters, the Haunting of Majesty Manor" can be played over and over because the hidden objects and guilty party change each time you play it, seasoned hidden object game players will quickly get tired of the game. However, this is an excellent game for players new to hidden object games.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for G.H.O.S.T. Hunters - The Haunting of Majesty Manor

"G.H.O.S.T Hunters" is 100% a hidden object game--no minigames, no puzzles, NOTHING else. If you like hidden object fun, this is for you! The pictures are stuffed full, yet the hidden objects aren't too small (at least, not to me). An unusual aspect of the game is the use of a "spectrometer" to give hints; when activated, the tool shows more lights and faster clicking the closer you are to a hidden object.

Because of the visual aspect of the spectrometer, this game is highly suitable for playing by the hearing impaired or with speakers off. I found myself turning the sound up when I caught the whispery voices, although I never could figure out what they were saying. LOL. In that case, I wished for captions too, although it's entirely possible that they weren't saying anything, and, certainly, they weren't saying anything noteworthy for the game. As far as I know, the soundtrack was just spooky sounds, footsteps, etc.

If you don't like HOGs (hidden object games), don't bother, but if you do, especially if you like them pure, this is a can't miss!!

This game was purchased as a Christmas gift for our 4 year old twins. This game was and still is a huge hit with them-the combination of Dora AND Team Umizoomi is very exciting for them. The game is easy to navigate and has good educational value-numbers, problem solving, shapes; I do think any child over the age of 4 would get bored with the game quickly though.

It was a good controller. Only problem with this brand/company they do not offer a warranty! I would not recommend purchasing these controllers and paying this kind of money for something that doesnt offer a warranty. Only reason I am giving it 3 stars instead of 5 is because there is no warranty on their controllers to guarantee their quality!

PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

PokePark is in danger again, and it is up to Pikachu and his friends to save the day (no pesky humans, such as Ash, allowed).

While appearing quite similar to the first game, there are some major changes. First, there are two adventures (I assume there is no third). The first took my daughter (age 11) about eight hours to complete, but after the credits roll, the story continues (if one wants). The continuation seems to cater to the nature of a completist; younger players may be satisfied with the main, initial quest and forego the backtracking and gathering the epilogue requires (my daughter has not finished the second part).

In addition, this game is structured differently than the first. There is more need to battle, chase, and complete quizzes than participate in attractions/mini-games. Also there is limited side-scrolling action, and I will say that the game is a tad more difficult than the first. Not every character is a pushover, and players are required to level up the four Pokemon they use (and the leveling up process too is a bit more sophisticated).

Most of the Pokemon here are from the recent Black and White series, though many classic Pokemon show up. The game seems to be a worthy follow up with fine graphics and some interesting gameplay advances and tweaks to the old format. Remember that there is plenty of text to read in this game so very young players may need assistance.

UPDATE : My daughter completed the second adventure. It only takes a few additional hours of collecting items with the occasional battle. One can continue if one wishes to collect all the remaining Pokemon as friends. Plus, the Battle area offers some additional tough challenges.

PokePark 2 delivers exactly what it promises, more of the same. On those terms, it's a 5 star game. Compared to a Nintendo Franchise title aimed at an older player, it comes in at 2.5 stars. If you didn't like PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure you won't like PokePark 2. This is a pretty shallow run around and complete simple tasks game without a deep storyline or much complexity. While that won't satisfy an adult or older player, It's perfect for kids that want to play Pokemon but aren't ready for complicated games. It is also beautiful enough to hold the interest of a Pokemon mad older player if they have a high tolerance for repetitive play. My 7 & 12 year old both wanted this sequel. While they play the first game intermittently, I didn't think the original was worth full price. Each kicked in half the cost (about where I would have priced this) out of their own wallets so we picked it up after school. I had to drag them off it at bedtime.

PokePark 2 would be best for poke-mad players ages 5 7 but it won't grow with their abilities like a Mario themed game will.

My son is 6 years old. He saw the commercial on TV and he wanted the game. We finally got it for him on Thursday. He played it over the weekend. He really likes the story and he can do everything on his own (his reading is on 2nd/3rd grade). I played few mini games with him and it is fun. I can't say anything about the storyline as I wasn't with him when he played. However, the graphic looks pretty good, the control seems smooth. He also enjoys the challenges and the training part of his pokemons. He gets really excited every time he acquired a new pokemon on his team. He told me on Sunday morning that this is the best game ever -he has about 5-10 games that he plays exclusively.

Good, cheap cable. I bought one of these to serve as an extra cable half of the charger for Apple Laptops. The corded sides of those adapters are just fancy looking 2-prong cables so you can buy these cheap ones and route them underneath desks or other places that are a hassle to crawl under and plug your adapter in. Then just carry the box part of the adapter around. Not quite as convenient as having two complete adapters but cost a lot less.

Cheap Xbox 360 System Messenger Bag

Xbox 360 System Messenger Bag
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This bag is definately worth the money. It is super padded and fits everything for the 360. Its officially liscensed. I bought this because I wanted to carry my 360 on the airplane with me. Inside you can fit the power brick, the cables, 4 controllers, and the console. My ony complaint is that if you have 4 controllers like I do, then you more than likely have to put other accessories such as headset, etc into another bag. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of five is because you cant really fit any games into it. They should have made an extra zipper pouch on the front for games in my opinion. You can definately fit one game though right next to the console. And you shouldnt travel with a game in your 360, so if you are going to a friends house, you will need an extra bag or disc case for your games. But overall it looks great and does what it is supposed to do and that is protect my 400 console. I reccomend it to anyone traveling or for transporting it anywhere.

It is a good looking bag. It's also very confortable and strong where you can place your Xbox 360, its cables, 4 controls and about 6 games. Also have side pockets to store your xbox's cooler fans or other devices. If you would like to take your xbox 360 on a trip, this is the bag.

The bag works great for the 360 and its cords but the lack of extra space for a couple games ruins the whole less luggage idea.

For those of us who like to take there 360 to friends houses or other social gatherings? Finding a way to transport our lovely consoles around has always been a challenge. I mean really, would you want to put something you paid $300+ in a backpack that's seen better days?

With the Xbox 360 Messenger Bag, it solves all the transport problems you need. The design of the bag is quite simple. It has a Main pocket and a Middle pocket. The Main Pocket is where you store your Xbox 360 console. However, at the bottom of the main pocket, there is a padded divider which folds up allowing you to store your AV cables, Power pack and Power Cord. Once the power cords are stored the divider folds down and acts as a padded floor for your 360 to sit on.

Once your 360 is situated inside the main pocket, the extra padding in the pocket allows for extra protection for your console. Once your 360 is situated in the bag, now you need to put your controllers in there. That's where your middle pocket comes in. The middle pocket is capable of holding up to 4 360 controllers. Beyond that are two side pockets and one mesh-zipped pocket that are located in front of the middle pocket followed by 2 mesh pockets on each side of the bag which are great for storing extra cables you might have.

And now for the cons:

Clearly, this bag was designed for the majority of 360 gamers who have gone wireless or have the basic accessories that came with their 360. After packing all of my gear into the bag, it became very clear that there would be no more room for extra accessories that I might consider getting in the future (I even had trouble finding room for my Xbox 360 Intercooler Black).

Beside room for extra accessories, there is absolutely NO room for you to store your game's. If you're one of those types who prefer to carry your games in their original Xbox 360 cases, then you might want to consider using either a plastic bag or use a CD case because you might have room for one or two games based on if you know where to put them and it was really easy for me since I only have two wireless controllers in the middle pocket and I only own two games.

So if your a basic gamer who just likes to hang out at a friends house and play a few of your favorite games with your buddies, then this is something you should have to help transport your console there.

Reviews of Multi-Input VGA Box for DVD, PS2, PlayStation, Gamecube, XBOX

Multi-Input VGA Box for DVD, PS2, PlayStation, Gamecube, XBOX, Dreamcast, Digital Camera / Camcorder and More
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I bought it to use my N64 (W00t, retro gaming!)on my monitor, since I don't own a TV. It has four mini RCA inputs (Standard DVD player and console outputs, one video and two audio) and one VGA inputone 1/8th inch audio (standard for headphones/speakers) out and one VGA out. It has two other features, one button to change the resolution and a button for each input to change the input selection. The resolution settings are 640x480@60Hz, 640x480@75Hz, 800x600@60Hz, 800x600@75Hz, and 1024x768@60Hz. (I don't know why there isn't a 1024x768@75Hz option, maybe that's just too much demand on the machine.) If that's mumbo jumbo to you, just press the "RESOLUTION" button on the front repeatedly until you're happy with how your picture looks.

It's much cheaper than most mini RCA to VGA converters. I was told to expect about $100, and that is what I found for most of them, which seemed absurd to me. I think you will agree that this is a much happier price. I can have my N64, Dreamcast, Cube, and DVD player all hooked up to the same box and switch between them all by pressing their respective buttons, which is much quicker than swapping out cords.

But all is not happy. The picture's quality is noticeably reduced. The color is a bit off, and it seems a bit blurred as well, but that might be because I'm used to play my N64 games from further away on a TV much larger than my monitor, which might have made the image look sharper. You definitely do not want to hook up your XBox 360 or PS3 through this thing. I mostly play old video games, and you have to accept that the graphics suck anyway, so no big deal for me. Interestingly, I have noticed more of a problem with with color in Zelda than in Perfect Dark, and more of a problem with blurriness in Perfect Dark than in Zelda. I attribute the extra blurriness to more motion in the fast moving first-person shooter Perfect Dark and concentrating on other things and so not noticing the color being off. Where as in Zelda, I'm wandering around and taking my time to figure stuff out, so I notice the color being wrong (everything seems a bit more red, which is especially odd since I'm in the fire dungeon right now) but I'm not moving quickly enough to really notice the image blur.

Also, the resolution settings are not saved for each input, which is why I wouldn't plug my computer into this box if I could help it. I don't know for sure, maybe it doesn't mess with you VGA in, but I was happy that I use DVI for my computer, and so didn't have to try the little experiment. (So all of my mini-RCA things plug into my box which plugs into my monitor VIA a VGA cable, but my computer plugs into my monitor via my DVI cable, so to switch between my computer and my VGA converter box I just switch my input on my monitor.)

Because the resolution settings aren't saved, you'd have to manually change the resolution when you go from a N64, which likes a very low resolution, to a GameCube (Or any other newer console besides the 360 or PS3) which prefers a higher resolution. You could certainly get by without changing the resolution, but the picture really looks significantly better when at its proper resolution. (On a side note, if you want to see was Gears of War looks like at 640x480, this is how you could find out.)

As to the audio, this box adds a hum to it. It's really quiet, so if you're playing video games you'll only hear it during loading screens. Also, it's not a steady tone, or that "CHHHHH" sound that is annoying at any volume that you hear when your television's trying to get a station but can't. It's got a low, gentle oscillating up-down to it, which I actually find rather pleasant. Makes loading screens more interesting for me. =D

I would buy it again for what I am doing, but if I were into PS3 or Xbox 360 gaming, or I had a Wii and was a real Nazi about picture quality, I would probably go for something a little higher-end.

Pros:

Affordable!

4 mini RCA inputs

Easily change resolution

Easily change input

VGA input

Comes with a VGA cable ( I already have a half dozen of these laying around, so I opened the box and went, "Ohhhhhh, great.")

Might be pro or con: Whether or not the box messes with your resolution settings for the VGA input. The small instructions sheet doesn't say, and I'm too lazy to figure it out. (If you really must know, shoot me a message. =D )

Cons:

Picture quality diminished a bit

Resolution settings not saved for different inputs

Some might find audio hum annoying

My roommates and I decided that we would use my 22" monitor and buy a VGA box rather than buy a whole new tv for our game systems. While this was certainly MUCH more cost effective, on the whole we were a little less than impressed.

Pros:

VERY convenient rather than unplugging and plugging systems to our old TV with only one input, this allows you to hook up 4 systems via composite, and one via VGA (I pass through my 360 in this way and it looks great). Also, all the sound is output through one 1/8" plug so we don't need to switch the speakers either. (Note: If you're using a VGA enabled system like we did, you will have to hook up your speakers in a different way for this system as there are no audio inputs next to the VGA port. Fortunately my speakers have both an auxiliary input and a standard 1/8" plug) Obviously this is functionality that you would expect out of a receiver, but for college students without such a thing, this was a blessing.

Colors are very bright and vibrant, at least compared to the 20 year old TV we used to play on.

Cons:

With my monitor at least, there was no real way to display the image correctly. The box outputs at 800x600 but I have a 16:10 monitor that thinks that all inputs should full the screen. As such, by default everything is a stretched out mess. There is a way I discovered in the manual menus to shrink the image horizontally, but this introduces vertical banding and it's not very pleasant to look at. While the composite video output is very soft and blurry (particularly so with a PS2, not so bad for Wii/GC), the Xbox 360 passed through looks sharp as a tack.

All in all it is not an ideal solution, especially if you are looking to use a widescreen monitor to play standard def consoles on. I was lucky that my monitor gave me some wiggle room in squishing it back to 4:3, but otherwise I would have been SOL.

In hind sight, we probably would have put the $X this cost towards a TV/receiver option, but it wasn't worth the hassle it would have taken to return it and all the shipping costs it would entail.

Best Deals for Multi-Input VGA Box for DVD, PS2, PlayStation, Gamecube, XBOX

I don't know why people review this item as 'bad' because it didn't reach the expectations of high def. on something that uses RCA CABLES AS INPUTS.

It DOES do the job: output the video signal to your pc monitor.

output audio to your sound system (or headphones!!!!)

it has a 5 way selector so that you can choose what you're gonna output to the display.

Overall, good. It did the job folks...

Honest reviews on Multi-Input VGA Box for DVD, PS2, PlayStation, Gamecube, XBOX

This VGA box is NOT HD convertor. The good thing about the VGA box it's the selector. Today all DVD player, video game console, and cable box had standard connection; AV input (Red, yellow, white). There're 3 AV input and 1 pc input, a lot of room for your Monitor.

Note:(important) the video quality is base on your monitor, not the VGA box, the video quality can be standard or low base on your monitor resolution. If too high, the pixels will break apart, too low will cause blurriness.

Note:(important) If you have old DVD player, old video game console, and cable box that doesn't support widescreen. This VGA box will not auto-adjust your display setting. So play your new machine like Xbox 360 on widescreen monitor.

Again, is not a HD convertor, standard video quality, great for cable box and video game console! Don't blame the VGA box if video quality is low, blame your monitor, not the VGA box.

Basically ... it does what it says it does. And it does it well. Which is pretty awesome. I bought it for my SNES, so no worries here.

HOWEVER.

Please note that what you are buying outputs at, shall we say, less-than-perfect resolution. Using this with something like an XBOX 360 is nearly unfeasible given the 360's sharp graphics. With F-Zero's color palette and blockiness it's nearly unnoticeable, but with better systems it's a real drag.

However. It's $40, and it lets you play all your old systems on your monitor. That's pretty sweet.

I'm going to hook up my PS2 now! And I'll be able to switch between PS2, Dreamcast, SNES, at will, thanks to this. :)

Let me first off say that I was a huge fan of the first HAWX installment and an overall huge fan of anything Clancy. I was eager to get this game because I had seen some great in-game footage of the AC-130 mission and landings were now included. Before I start telling you why this game is a disappointment let me tell you what is good about it.

1) The graphics are just as good if not better than the first HAWX. The detail of the maps are great and give you an almost there feel. The planes seem better as well. The plane graphics seem more realistic with a more war worn look that's not as clean as before.

2) It's more realistic. Even though you still have a ton of missiles available it seems the designers spent more time making it tougher to hit the target.

3) The A.I. is a lot more difficult. Gone are the days of sending out 4 missiles at a time, every map, at every threat. I only remember one map where multi-target was available and that was for ground targets.

4) New technology. You not only get to control an AC-130 but there are drones and precision guided bombs that expand the gameplay.

Now for the not-so-good parts of the game. I really like tough games, they are a challenge and make for more fun but this game almost made me snap the disc in half. Here's why.

1) Your wingmen are absolute garbage. They don't seem to do anything other than warn you of incoming missiles, as if the red warning lights, picture in picture, and warning buzzers weren't enough.

2) You will spent 90% of your time dodging missiles and 10% of your time TRYING to have a decent dog fight. The MIG-29's are great they are extremely tough to get a lock on but as soon as you get any where close to missile lock you have to break off in order to escape incoming missiles.

3) The missions are scripted. You can't pick which targets to engage like you could in the first HAWX. If you are trying to protect a ground base from tanks you'll be forced to break off and take out incoming fighters. When you attempt to kill the fighters the ground forces practically destroy the base. Once you get rid of the fighters and try to take on the ground forces again you are taken to a cut-scene or the mission ends. That's what really gets me, the enemy doesn't retreat if you overwhelm them like the first, its just over.

4) The storyline is boring. Rebel forces take over some Russian nukes, WOW that hasn't been done to death. Thankfully you can skip the load-screens after about thirty seconds.

5) This isn't that big of a deal but the game is pretty sexist. There is a female pilot who talks quite a bit throughout the campaign and she is pretty much the only source of a "team" feel. When she talks she is almost instantly told to be quite by one of your wingmen. In the end she sacrifices herself trying to take out an enemy target and the game is like, "alright she's dead who's up next?".

6) No choices of what planes or missile packages you get to fight with. You are given some really bad planes to take into combat and don't expect to play with too many US aircraft, the game is set as a world conflict so you only get to play the F-22 and Warthog in a couple missions, otherwise your Russian, French or English.

The first game was great it had creative and fun missions like protecting the President of the United States and taking on wave after wave of ground targets. This game is intense but I would say its not very fun. There seems to have been a complete lack of imagination on this one. I have only played the multiplayer a few times and it seems to be a rank up as you go system so maybe that is worth the price of the game. All I can say is the campaign is a huge let down.

ALL FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED. THANKS AND GOOD GAMING.

HAWX 2 puts you in the cockpit of a variety of fighters and in control of some drones in order to accomplish a variety of missions against a stiff opposition of anti-air fire and enemy aircraft. As a preface to this review, I own and enjoyed the first HAWX and I only play with the xbox controller (though I am thinking about investing in a flight stick).

HAWX 2 does some things very well. The AI aircraft in the single-player campaign are much smarter than in the first incarnation of the game. Dipping and diving and trying to lock on to enemy aircraft is the heart of HAWX 2. Moreover the backdrop of deserts, rugged mountain peaks, and other locations are beautifully done. Screaming through mountain passes at tree top levels has never looked more realistic on the 360. The take off and landing effects are also very cool (especially on aircraft carriers). The narrative cut scenes that propell the story are ok (but I don't really play for the story).

The multiplayer is tons of fun. There are co-op mission modes and team battle. Team battle is up to 4 on 4 fighter combat and has a number of customizable features. You can pick from a variety of maps (points can be scored hitting NPC targets as well as enemy players). But what I loved was that you can select an "era": korean war, vietnam conflict, cold war, modern, or open. This era selection restricts plane choices to those available during the selected conflict. Also a various realism factors can be engaged to make the multiplayer the shining area of HAWX2.

Finally the perks system is very well done. You rank up both in your experience level and with each plane. To unlock customizable loadouts, you must play with each plane. Also, as you rank up special effects that give your team brief bonuses can be unlocked (these include radar jamming, camoflage, no missile lock warning for the enemies, etc).

Some things that are exactly like HAWX 1. All the planes have a lot of missiles (sometimes 30 or 40 missiles) and machine guns even stealthy modern planes that do not have the old dog-fight standby. The "realistic" mode in multiplayer helps to correct this.

And HAWX 2 missed the mark completely in two places: 1) campaign aircraft selection & 2) "assistance off" mode. First, In trying to stick to some sort of story-plot the plane you pilot in the campaign is scripted. I did notice that the rewards for ranking up did not seem to include the great variety of planes from HAWX 1,but this may change as DLC becomes available. Secondly, The assistance off move your perspective from the standard 1st or 3rd person to a zoomed-out third person. The idea is so you can see more of the battlefield. In reality you have very little control of your plane and the camera angles are wonky so you mostly fly in circles and shoot wildly.

All-in-all, HAWX 2 is a good game for your flight combat fix. It has some shortcomings, and is not a revolutionary advance over HAWX 1, but I can see myself flying the unfriendly skies for a good number of hours.

I think it was clear when they released the game at 49.99 that they felt it wasn't a premier game. Over HAWX they improved the graphics and added a couple of neat features. The "neat features" I refer to are the ability to finally take off and land (also taxi) even on an aircraft carrier at times. The story mode isn't that great, it has nothing to do with the book (neither did HAWX for that matter). Here are my pros and cons:

Pros

-Better graphics

-Can now taxi and land aircraft

-Has more weapons to choose from

-Online is slightly better (more options)

Cons

-CANNOT CHOOSE YOUR AIRCRAFT OF PREFERENCE!!!! (I don't want to be stuck flying a mig or su during certain missions... stick me with an F16 for all I care...)

-I will say again for con #2 that I want to fly planes of my choice, not a random foreign fighter jet.

-Story lacks a bit

-They incorporated several levels similar to Call of Duty's AC130 levels. If I wanted to play that, I'd put in Call of Duty 4.

-If you play the game with an aviation stick (flight stick), you suffer in dogfights from regular controllers, especially in the assistance modes where you can "bend the laws of gravity".

Conclusion:

I went back to play HAWX 1 just to choose my aircraft and play more clarified missions after a couple of weeks of playing HAWX2. Aviation games have never reached the level of potential that I expect from them. WWII games have been done to death and modern airplane games lack in detail. Thus far HAWX1 or AC4 are your best choice. Maybe the new Ace Combat will be worth playing. I give it 3 stars just for the graphics, average gameplay, and the simple reason that they came out with a sequal.

Honest reviews on Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 - Xbox 360

This came takes all the great aspects of the first and throws them out the window with no regard. Plot, graphics & animations, computer controlled enemies and allies, and game play are seriously hindered, lacking, or not thought out at all. Please, do not purchase this game or pay full price, you will be wasting hard earned money.

The plot, oh the plot. They ripped off sections of popular games such as the AC-130 gunning, attempted to do the "multiple story lines that converge" method of plot, and clearly did not put much effort in telling a coherent story. As with most Clancy games, there is an overall story line that spans from EndWar to Ghost Recon. This game I guess is taking place in an alternative reality that ignored what happened in the previous game and all other games in this universe. Not to mention complete disregard for logic, in several parts of the game your fighter is not armed with missiles for no discernible reason, aircraft carriers double as landing craft, and its an acceptable choice to sink oil tankers. So, if story isn't such an issue for you, there are more reasons to not like this.

The graphics of this game are definitely lack luster and not on par for its generation of games. In cut scenes the lips of the characters don't sync up with speech, a really, really, dumb failure. This sort of characterizes the game, it just seemed like the design group didn't care. The maps are big but the models still look like they came out of a game years ago, small details I know but when you keep crashing into fuzzy poles, it gets annoying. The use of real maps is overhyped and a gimmick at best. The scales never seem right and I'm pretty sure they just threw the models in at random. But wait, there's more!

Your computer allies clearly take the "if I stay away from danger, someone else will deal with it" approach to combat. In HAWX 1, you could tell your wingmen to cover you or go out and engage. In this game, you are almost always a wingman and the only times you are a lead is when you are by yourself. So, don't count on your allies to watch out for you or help complete objectives or support craft to fire at anything. The enemies though take full advantage of the good old lazy programmer approach of infinite ammo. You will have portions of the game where you will endless circle, trying to lock on with the guns because missiles are ineffective against what seems to be flare infused fuel in your target's engine. The game's story was clearly balanced for multiplay with three of your friends (Assuming you have three friends with this game) being able to handle the vast number of enemies being thrown at you. This brings me to the last part of shortcomings.

You have no alternative control layouts, ability to change sensitives, or choice of aircraft. The game was meant to be played with a joystick. Like the mech game that required a giant $100 controller to play it properly, this game was designed for those of you who play lots of flight games and have put down the cash for a joystick. For the rest of us, deal with it. You will find yourself just flying in random loops, dodging endless missiles, and being thrown off by the very jumpy controls. Push the stick a little too hard and before you know it you are hugging a tree, hard. Then another "If it worked in the first game we shouldn't do it" moment was with the no choice of planes and loadouts. I can understand from a story point of view that Russians won't field US planes or when expecting flying CAS you won't have bombs. But by denying players the option of choosing to forgo the radar guided missiles (Good luck keeping those on target) for multi-AA missiles you just frustrate everyone. Oh and the landing/takeoff/mid-air-refuel stuff, it got old after the first time. Expect to spend minutes with the assistant thing (They also wrecked this system, its useless) trying land to end a mission. If I wanted to do those things, I would play a realistic fighter game.

Overall, this is a frustrating way to spend your time. If you're patient, more power to you. If your like me and would like the flow of the game uninterrupted by bad controls, allies, and such just play the original.

Fantastic for all us would be sofa fighter pilots.

Great for dads and kids as there is no blood and gore which most teen onwards xbox games seem to be, just high speed and high flying fun. You get an f16 to start with so it can't be bad huh?

By the way, US ntsc format will work on UK xbox if you use HDMI connection.

This is an incredible game. I just bought it the other day and I love it. But I'm still not finished. Sure, I've beaten a few tourniments, but there is more.

See, the reason I'm writing this is because I've been reading a lot of reviews saying that it's just too easy. What they fail to mention is that even though Tournament mode is very very short, you have to play it with all your racers in order to make everything equal. In addition, there are secret characters that are unbelieveably hard to get. These are:

Episode 1 Sebulba: Win first place in all races on regular Sebulba's career.

Episode 1 Anakin: Beat the best lap time for each race (it seems easy at first, but those last two races make it almost impossible).

Watto: Beat the best 3-lap race time for each track (see above parentathis).

Darth Maul: Beat the best KO number in each race (oddly enough, it's the first race of the game that gives me the most trouble)

Darth Vader: Unlock EP1 Anakin, Watto, and Maul, then (and only then) win the tourniment with one of those three.

How difficult are these characters to get? Well, let me put it this way: I've been playing almost nonstop for a week and the only onje of the above characters I have is EP1 Sebulba (though I'm close to getting Maul).

So if you want praise for this incredible game, read some of the other reviews. However, read this one after to dispell the "too easy" myth. Sure, winning the tourniment mode with one character is wicked easy (I did it in a matter of hours). But try winning it with 18 and unlocking 5 more.

Dos neek ta tunk bantha poodoo.

Unlike most people, I owned the PC version of the original Racer and I absolutely loved it. Even before I had seen the movie I was deeply obsessed with that game. There's nothing coller that racing inches above the ground and near sonic speeds. The sequel offers everything the first offers with a couple of exceptions and a lot of extras.

First my few complaints: there seem to be fewer tracks on fewer planets offering less variety. Basically you get the water planet (Mon Calimari), the desert planet (Tatooine), the jungle planet (Gamorra, sounds like a venereal disease, and my least favorite world), the planet with one side day and the other night, which was my favorite and maybe one other. Maybe my memroy hypes the PC version into something better than it was, but it seems that there were a lot more planets or at least a lot more tracks. Lack of variety in the tracks means the game is potentially very short, even though replayability is good.

My other problem might seem trivial, but there's no first person perspective without the pods in view. It was my favorite view on the first one for a couple of reasons. 1: the pods obstruct your view even thought they're meant to make a more realistic simulation. It's hard to see the upcoming turns and the guys in your way. 2. Without the pods it really increases the illusion of speed. It just sucked you in and made you feel like you were hauling ...

Other than these two minor complaints, this is an excellent game. There are tons of racers both old and new, including an older (non-Jake Lloyd) Anakin with a redesigned pod. I've already beat the game once with Teemto Pagalies and have every racer through Sebulba ( I think there are more, but I'll get to that later).

The music and sound, as with most Star Wars games) is excellent. Sebulba's pod still makes that cool thumping noise and the John Williams score is well... John Williams. The visuals are very impressive, especially the characters and pods. It seems like the backgrounds are a little rough and blocky at times, but I think that's to improve the frame-rate and you're going so fast you don't have time to stop and look.

One of the cool features you can unlock is the art gallery. In the gallery there are all the pods plus three that I find particularly interesting: a pod for Watto, one for Darth Maul and one for Darth Vader. In the credits there are voice acting credits for Darth Maul and Vader voices. It seems obvious that there is some way of unlocking these pods, but I don't know how and I'm dying to find out. Those Maul and Vader pods look ruthless.

The game is a lot of fun and made me remember why I loved the first one so much. There's something very cool about hitting turbo in a big underwater tube and letting the centripical force carry you upside dwon over your opponents at 600 mph. Or bursting out of one tunnel into a cavernous gap and after some mad hang-time, flying into another tunnel waaay on the other side.

Even without the Star Wars theme this is a strong game that stands on it's own. Star Wars fans or fans of high speed racing should not miss out.

Options include single events, tournaments, and two-player mode. The tournament is where the hard hitting action is at. In tournament mode, your pod racer works his way through different race courses and earns money for pod upgrades (speed acceleration, cooling, defense, repair, etc.) along the way. The first 2 or 3 tournaments may seem to lack a serious challenge, but that all changes around the 4th or 5th round. It doesn't take much to go from 1st to last by hitting a wall. I've won races by as little as .1 seconds with the top 5 pods all coming within a few seconds of each other. I've also taken a wide turn while in 1st and finished 3rd. The game description says that speeds reach up to 600mph, but I have gone in excess of 700mph. Quality game with excellent graphics and game controlls. Would have given 5 stars, but the 2 player mode just wasn't meant to be... not enough room on the screen to accommodate it.

Honest reviews on Star Wars Racer Revenge

I bought this for Christmas for my kids. We're all Star Wars fans, and we play it almost daily. I'm 33, and I enjoy it just as much as my kids. Racing at 500 or 600 miles an hour--what's not to like?

PROS: It recreates the feel of the Star Wars universe nicely, with opening scenes and even music from the movies as you race. There are enough tracks for plenty of variety, and the feeling of the different "alien" worlds each track is located on is created nicely. The game starts with only four tracks available to race, however, and you must win first place in a number of races in Tournament mode in order to unlock the remaining eight or so tracks. This offers challenge and incentive to progress through the game. The same goes for the pods/characters. You start the game with Anakin's pod and a few others (around seven or eight if I remember correctly), but more than half of them remain to be unlocked. I think there are a total of around 15-20 pods once all are unlocked, with Sebulba's pod being the last one to unlock. (NOTE: For those unfamiliar with Playstation games...A memory card is required for the game to recognize that tracks and pods from previous gaming sessions have already been unlocked)

CONS: The downside is it is quite challenging to win races sometimes. Also, the damage caused to your pod by bumping into obstacles can get annoying. There are no options within the game to change the level of difficulty or turn off the damage, which is really needed when you have young kids playing. My boys are four and six-years-old, and they frequently cannot finish a race because their pods reach the damage limit and explode too quickly. There is a button you can hold for a number of seconds to repair your pod, however. Still, for young kids who just want to race to have fun, it would be nice to turn that damage feature off.

I assume this game was designed for children, so I found it perplexing that I, having several hundred hours of racing games experience on a Sony Playstation 2, could not easily win each race here. I had to attempt certain races several times to win first place. Not a big deal for me--it was a fun challenge. But I'm calling it a downside to the game because my children still have yet to win any race. In fact, it's so difficult that they always come in last place. Furthermore, even when you find yourself racing really well and in the lead, taking every corner with precision, and racing at top speed, somehow the computer-controlled pods will be right on your tail the whole time and as soon as you make a mistake, they will fly right past you. I realize that this keeps the game challenging, but sometimes it would be nice to reap the rewards of building a lead.

CONCLUSION: Despite the drawbacks I've written about, this game is an excellent value. My boys and I have had hours of fun, with countless more to come. Sure, my boys don't like to come in last place every time, but they keep playing it because it's so much fun. If you can live with the drawbacks, the PROs to the game will delight you. I highly recommend this game.

When Pod Racer came out on the N64 it was an instant hit. My friends and I spent many weekends playing it and admiring the graphics, and the sheer brutal speed of the game. Sound and game play were great too.

Now Pod Racing comes to the PS2 which is cool since I don't own an N64.

First and foremost this is a good game, it's fast, adictive and has good gameplay. I don't think that it has the brutal speed of it's fore-runner though. Nor are the graphics quite up to the task either. I think the problem with the graphics is simply that the PS2 can't anti-alias the screen, so the picture has sharp edges, not actual jaggies mind, just slightly too sharp edges, which remind you you are playing a game.

The biggest problem, for me, is the exclusion of Watto's Junk yard and store. In the N64 game you browsed the new and spare parts you wanted to buy. In this one, you simply adjust a bar representing one or other attribute of your pod. I preferred the N64's junk yard, it added character to the game. It kinda makes me wonder why too, the N64 game was cartridge based, this PS2 game has an entire CD to play with, so it's not like there wasn't room.

The addition of a combat element to the game you bash your opponents until they go bang, adds an element to the race, but at the end of the day it's still a pod race.

Is this a great game? Yes, buy it, play it. Is it better than the old Pod Racer? Well, it does remove the annoying screech of Annakin throughout the game, but apart from that, it's more of the same. The graphics are great, but don't have the smooth finish of the N64 version.

Lastly, no matter what *anyone* says, this isn't a "new" game, or "new" version, it's little more than the same game ported to the PS2. And to be honest I am very happy with that, I missed my Pod Racing. All I need now is that ice world track from the old game and a nice strong coffee to get my speed up.....

I bought this controller for my son because he is Buc fan.

But I have used it to make sure it works and it works as well as his $60 xbox 360 wireless controller. Only draw back is the football controller is not wireless and the start, select and xbox button are in different places, some games you need to hit the select button so it throws you off because it's not in the same place as on the xbox 360 controller. But you get use to it after a while.

Main thing it does work and my son loves that it has the bucs on it.

The larger Swap Force characters don't fit standing up, they're just a smidge too tall, ~0.25", for the lid to close. I don't know how they got 20 characters to fit. I barely got 13 inside. It's much smaller than I was expecting. Outside dimensions are 11.25" x 14.25" x 4". Internal dimensions 10.75" x 13.25" x 3.5". It would be perfect if only it was 0.5" taller.

Star Wars Battlefront II (SWB2) is not an enormous departure from the first Star Wars Battlefront (SWB1), but the differences are all positive. So what's the same, you can employ vehicles in combat in single player and multiplayer (though not as much as SWB1). You still have the ability to specialize your infantry between assault troops, snipers, anti-tank, and special troops (wookies, dark troopers, etc). Also at the writing on this review (Sept 2013), playing online directly through the game is still possible with several servers and lots of live players to play against.

So what's new:

This time you also get to fight as Jedi/Sith and against them. While they can still do enormous damage, they are not practically indestructible like in SWB1. There is a large selection of special characters that you can play during single player and multiplayer. During single player, special characters can only be played during certain parts of certain missions. You will be notified when this option is available. For multiplayer, there are different options. Some games are exclusively hero battles where light sabers rule, but you can also play as Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Boba fett. Other games allow one special character to each side at a time (again you will be notified to play the special character if it is your turn).

Fun space combat with X-wings, Tie fighters, and bombers. The space map boundaries are large which allows for fun dog fighting. You can attack the outside of enemy ships and can raid the inside with space marine raiding parties. I never really enjoyed flying in SWB1 because of the tight maps. However, there is very limited aerial combat in non-space maps. The snowspeeder on Hoth is the only one I can think of.

There are neat features that become available during missions. After you achieve certain conditions, you receive special bonuses like advanced weapons (I love the bonus rifle) and damage reduction. You also gain access to additional troops some of which I found really cool like chain gun troops, wookies, and Destroyer Droids.

The single player finally got some effort put into it. I thought the length of campaign was good. You can only play one side during the campaign, but this time the single player is not just practice time for multiplayer. The missions have objectives and the number of spawns is limited. The campaign follows the 501st legion of republic clone troopers as they evolve to stormtroopers. You basically start in episode 3 and continue into episode 6. I'm not sure if the encounters are all authentic to the series , but many of them take you to battles from the movies. While the storyline may not appeal to everyone, I thought it was well put together and was interesting to see the rebellion from the side of the stormtroopers.

So in summary, if you like first person shooter type games or Star Wars you should get this game.

Technical Note: The game played great both on Windows 7 (Intel i7, 12 GB RAM, 2GB Nvidia Video Card) and Vista (Intel Core 2 Quad, 8GB RAM, 1GB Nvidia Video Card) for me.

I had originally played this with a friend on the original Xbox, and had tons of fun. I opted to purchase the PC version for myself, because of the "+123 Mod" which basically let all maps and game types be used together. I even had fun on the campaign, although you still stick around for the multiplayer with others or with bots (not enough games have bots!).

Not anything against the game, but the seller I got it from shipped an English 4-CD version of the game from Thailand, rather than a US English DVD version or similar. I thought it was strange.

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis - PC
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

Operation Genesis is an economic sim where you create your own dinosaur park, but a few real-time elements breathe some new life into the genre. Think of it as a game of Theme Park, where the main attractions can kill you.

You start off the game on your own custom island, researching DNA, building exhibits, and of course constructing huge fences to keep the dinosaurs contained. As your research progresses, you are able to create bigger and badder dinosaurs that generate additional customer interest. Of course this raises the danger level as well. To provide research material, you hire teams of archaeologists to dig up bones and amber. As more material is collected and researched, the DNA of each dinosaur becomes more complete and the dinosaurs live longer as a result.

I think the developers struck a nice balance of keeping the money management focused mainly on dinosaur research and less on the park itself so it doesn't turn into yet another economic sim. You do have to monitor some areas like food and park cleanliness, but that's about it. The majority of money is spent developing dinosaurs and their needs. For instance, the dinosaurs need to be vaccinated to prevent a number of diseases that can afflict the animals. Once the vaccines are developed, you need to build a helicopter station so they can be shot with the vaccine (or shot period if they go nuts and start attacking everything.) You can't spend the entire time focused only on the dinosaurs, though. You also need to spend time researching new and better exhibits, such as balloon rides, viewing towers, and the ever-popular jungle safari tours in the woefully inadequate Nissan pickups, so the customers can see the dinosaurs better and improve your park rating.

As the research improves and new technologies are developed, you get an email telling you everything, and I mean everything that happens. This starts to get a little annoying after a while as many of the "common sense" decisions could be delegated. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the settings so certain decisions, like reviving a sick dinosaur or selling fully researched DNA material, could be made automatically. Every so often, a little real-time gameplay comes into action. For instance, a dinosaur might trash one of the pickups, leaving the survivors stranded and it's up to you to fly a helicopter overhead and rescue them before they get trampled on or eaten. Or, if you like, you can jump on one of the balloons or pickups to take some pictures of the dinosaurs. If your photography skills are good enough, they might get published and you'll make a little extra cash as a result.

One of the best features of the game is simply watching the behavior of the dinosaurs as they interact with one another. Certain dinosaurs tend to get along, others don't. As you introduce new and different dinosaurs, the dynamics of the park change. When my park started off with all herbivores, they would wander all over the place. Once I introduced some carnivores, especially my bad-boy T-Rex, they tended to become much more territorial. Plus my normally docile triceritops would start freaking out and trash any nearby pickups, much to the chagrin of the customers. Other dinosaurs would get so stressed, they'd simply keel over and die. Some of the behaviors are a little buggy, they like pushing each other around while they're sleeping, for instance. But for the most part they do seem to have individual personality and it adds a lot to the game.

There are some minor gripes, such as being forced to used certain functions with a keyboard even though the entire game could have been mouse driven. My main gripe, though, is that it's a little too easy. I'm no expert in these types of games, but even in my first game, I easily created a money making machine with every exhibit and every dinosaur researched in spite of numerous mistakes that I wouldn't make my second time around. There's really not much involved in keeping the park maintained or the customers happy. It didn't seem like it made much difference to the customers whether I had a few or a lot of dinosaurs. In fact, it seems like the less dinosaurs you have, the easier it is to play. Having said that, I was feeling pretty smug about my park when a huge twister ripped through destroying everything in its path. I was having so much fun watching the devastation that I forgot to declare a state of emergency. Let's just say that the few customers that lived probably won't return anytime soon.

So should you buy it? If you're looking for a complex economic sim, you'll probably be happier with Sim City 4. It's also graphics-intensive, so it'll struggle on standard video cards, but anyone with a Geforce or Radeon will be able to play it. Aside from that, you really do get the "virtual" thrill of building and managing your very own dinosaur park. Hope the review helped.

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is great! And I found it very pleasing to be watching the dinosaurs.

First off... the dinosaurs. The way they moved was incredible. They're motion gave the reality that they are actually there. They're behavior also created a dynamic form that they were all different, and not the same dinosaur in another's costume. Some seem to like to hunt a lot, While others played and fought in territorial fights. Some examples of aggresion include spinosaurus. Spinosaurus will fight for territory many times, while others such as tyrannosaurus will flee before challengers after it loses just one territory fight, meaning that spinosaurus always has confidance while tyrannosaurus gives up. Allosaurus doesn't fight at all, though they are incredibly stupid and keep on going after the same dangerous prey even though it is seriously damaged. Allosaurus run from other large carnivores, but the other large carnivores don't eat them.

The fact that many dinosaurs played a lot is very annoying. Because they will practically starve themselves to death or play to the point of dying of dehydration. They're too stupid to even survive. Plus they constantly run in circles around the predator, meaning that the predator could easily get them.

Herbivores tend to have a very different behavior than carnivores. Corythosaurus tend to run long distances and separate from their herd. But Camarasaurus does sort of have the same behavior, except they do it to join other herds of camarasaurus or brachiosarus. Hadrosaurs like the edmontosaurus and ouranosaurus like to make another hadrosaur into their leader. If the dinosaur has a particular species for it's friend then they will make that different species their leader or simply follow them around a lot for protection against predators.

Now I'll talk about the machines and stuff that you can ride. First is the helicopter. The controls for the helicopter were very easy and I had very little trouble with them. It's a great way to cure dinosaurs and get their health back. Or if you get angry you can simply kill them all. You can also herd them or lure them. Now the jeep. I have serious issues with it because when you try to turn left it will go right first, then left. This was very annoying because I kept on running into things. Plus when you let go of the button it will keep on running for a couple of seconds and then stop. Finally the balloon. The only thing you could do with the balloon is use it as a last resort to take good pictures of dinosaurs. But the balloon moved around so much that I couldn't get it centered or get the shot of the dinosaurs that I wanted. This results in messy pictures and that is why I say to use it only if there is no other way. And by the way, large carnivores will attack the jeep. That's another reason why you should use the balloon.

Now the guests. I loved how the guests liked different things. And I liked how they had names and showed where they came from. They even talk to each other. But they are more stupid than some of the dinosaurs. They will walk back and forth in one area or walk around in circles saying stuff like ''Where's the bathroom? Why didn't they put in a bathroom?'' This made me think of shooting the guest with the rifle. Sadly you can't do this. Otherwise it would be rated M.

The missions are very fun. They include herding dinosaurs through mazes of fences, killing rogue dinosaurs and saving a president, shooting the hatchery power boxes to stop them from creating more, rescueing John Hammond using the jeep, and taking great pictures of dinosaurs for a calender. There are other missions though. And if you can beat them all you can unlock Site B.

Now I have had serious problems with this. Some of the worst things I'll tell. One of the bad things is that my dinosaurs go in the water and can't get out. I try to put land around it but it won't let me because it says that there is something in the way. So my dinosaur died because of this. Here's another one that sort of made me sad. Why can't the dinosaurs breed? In the movie and book they're all female, but the game could have at least tilted it a little bit. Plus you can't name the dinosaurs like in Zoo Tycoon. That makes it impossible to track them down unless they're the leader or there's only one.

I thought that the game was totally awesome. I would reccomend this to anyone. Thanks for reading!

Though I have only played the demo, I feel that this is truly a game that fans of Jurassic Park, dinosaurs, and even that "Tycoon" series alike should at least look into. Dinosaur models, sounds, activities, and how realistic the activities are preformed are extremly accurate. (Such as herbivorious dinosaurs will make herds, and carnivores will become stressed if they don't have running space or are denied the ability to hunt, and carnivores will fight over territory.)

You go to dig sites and fossil markets to extract dinosaur D.N.A. from items such as amber and fossilized bones, though you may only get 5-15% of a certain dinosaur's D.N.A. at a time from the bones, yet from a piece of amber, you may get up to 65% of a dinosuar's full D.N.A. After you get 100% of any given dinosaur's D.N.A., you can then clone your dinosaurs into a living, breathing dinosaur body. The process is done by removing an alligator's D.N.A. from an egg, and inserting the D.N.A. of the dinosaur.

Due to a 'scientific process', the dinosaur grows to adult size in 4 days, then is released into the confined area you have made for her. (All dinosaurs are females to protect against uncontrolled breeding.)So, the good thing is: you don't have to wait for the dinosaur to grow up. The bad thing is: you don't get to watch the dinosaur grow up. (To same this is a good thing.)

In compliance with the realism, the dinosaurs can also get sick. The main diseases they may get include: Gastric Poisioning, Bumblefoot, Tick Infestation, Rabies, Dinosaur Flu, and Dino Belly. If you do not vaccinate the infected dinosaur(s) then a major outbreak will occur throughout the park. Luckly for us though, there is a "Cure All" button, so now we won't have to cure each individual one. You also have to set up research facilities so you can discover more vaccicnes, because all of them are not handed over to you. >:)

After you have established a good park, visitors will come see if the so called "real dinosaurs" ad in the paper was a big joke. Well, after they discover that they are not, they'll go and tell their friends. Though the InGen Corperation has put a limit on how many visitors you may have at one time, you can allow more as you prove to InGen that you can keep the dinosaurs from breaking out of the confiments and eating your visitors. >:] (You also loose a lot of money when this happens.) You can also take ballon rides over the park, photo rides THROUGH the park, and helicopter rides around it.

Now the bad, if you purchase the PC version of this game, I hope you have a strong video card. If not, prepare for slow frame rates, jagged models, and in some cases the game won't even start. It runs on the Direct 3D system. On my computer, all it shows is all white with gray squares because my computer doesn't support Direct 3D. :(

Overall, I really think you guys should look into this game, as it seems to have a lot of potential. Where else can you get a Jurassic Park game that looks this good anyway?

(Did I mention that there are over 25 species of dinosaurs in this game?)

Honest reviews on Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis - PC

So far I have only played the game demo (availible at ) but I really loved it, and I think the game will be as good as the Demo, the Dino's do everything what they supposed to do, they eat, sleep, drink, poop etc. and the missions where you have to photograph or shoot the dino's from a helicopter are well made, this game is a must have for every fan of Jurassic Park or Dinosaurs, the graphics are highly detailed and it sounds like the sounds of the Dinosaurs are comming right out the movie, and the sountrack from John Williams makes it all a great game.

I can't add much of a better review than what is already here but I too played the demo and was very excited by it. I am a HUGE Jurassic Park fan and found it completely exhilarating. Universal has used its license to the extreme. All the wonderful elements are here: John Williams soundtrack, real sounds from the movie (the T-Rex has the same train sound), logos and even ambiance of being there. The graphics are amazing. I always found the idea of a dinosaur theme park very interesting and that is what I loved about the movie. This game gives that same feeling to me. What would it be like to visit (in this case run) a dinosaur theme park? In the movie, it becomes a disaster. But this is my opportunity to see Jurassic Park run as a full functioning park with "real" visitors. This looks to be one of the best Jurassic Park licensed games.
