I waited for a long time to get PAE1 discounted in the Deal of the Week program (It went for 50% off) on Xbox Live because 1600 points or $20 seemed like WAY to much to me for an Xbox Live Arcade game. I'm glad I did because I would have been pretty angry if I paid full price. If you are a veteran RPG player you will rip through this game in a few hours or so. Maybe it'll take you a bit longer if you're going for the achievements.

Pros:

Limited character creation, but your character looks great & is in every cut scene just how you made it. Has a very cool stylized look to it.

Fun & fast combat system once you learn how to block.

There are a lot of little details everywhere. Click and explore everything.

Easy 200 Achievement points for a veteran RPG player.

Cons:

Overpriced & much shorter than I expected. Beat everything in one play through and has ZERO replayability. Literally, it warns you before you beat the last boss that once you win it's over.

Before you learn how to time your blocks properly you will die, alot.

Lame story with a cliffhanger leading you to buy PAE2.

Not as funny as I thought it would be and is NOT for a child it has mature content & very strong language.

Overall, I enjoyed it while it lasted, but I'd say I was disappointed with PAE1 because it was so short and wouldn't recommend paying full price for it.

This is one of the most expensive games on Xbox Live, but it's worth the money. It's honestly better than some games that come on disk for $60. You don't need to be a Penny Arcade fan to enjoy the game, but if you are, the jokes will make you laugh out loud. The combat is fun. Make sure to learn the blocking!

People always complain about the price, as do I , so this review will pretend the game was free so the score will be unbiased.

Not for children. Thats my first advice because this game is full of F-bombs and sexual inuendo (and blood of course). I loved this game though, and thought it was very well written and made me laugh out loud a few times. The story content is interesting and humorous. The visuals are great and you easily get sucked into this game.

The gameplay was also great. It is a fairly fast paced RPG game in which you have to be always choosing options (attack/item etc.) and do it fairly quickly. The game is not hard, but it takes a little getting used to if you've never played a RPG before. You may die once or twice, but you pick up on it pretty quick. The only minor downside to the gameplay is the "explore" aspect. I say this because sometimes it is hard to "inspect" items as you can walk past them just ever so slightly and then you can't inspect them. You have to kind of circle your character around a bit until he is looking exactly at what you want, and it's easy to miss things this way. That part of the game made it a little tedious when trying to collect all the items, but not too much.

The achievements were also fun, especially the hardest one (I'll let you figure it out). It took me about 4 tries to get it and was fast paced action all the way with a lot of strategy. This game was a little shorter than I would have liked, but after playing through the game twice to get 100% of the achievements, I felt satisfied. I look forward to Episode 2 once I get some points.

Sorry, just played a demo so far, so this isn't much of a review. The biggest complaint is that it costs $20; I just wanted to say that on Steam, it's only $5. Well worth it!

I was surprised by the consistent quality of the game, and how fun it actually was. I got it for my child, but found I enjoyed it too. The graphics and animations do a great job mirroring the movie, and the gameplay is kind of Ratchet and Clank likeshooter/platformer with an upgrade system. It's a little derivative as movie games tend to be, but it's very well done. Johnny Depp doesn't voice Rango, which is disappointing, but whoever does Rango's voice does a good enough job. I do think it helps if you enjoyed the movie, but it's still a surprisingly fun game on it's own.

Just wish it were a little more compatible with all ages. Unlike Crash games, changing difficulty really doesn't provide for a more adult friendly game. Finished it in three sittings and really had no desire to go back through to pick up missing items.

My son loved watching me play, I even loved playing it. It was one of the more entertaining kid movie games I've ever played. Recommend it if you are thinking about a fun easy game to play with your kids.

This game has really cool platformer elements from back in the day. Great story and goes well with the movie as a "semi" tie in. Recommended for all ages, even adults. Graphics are up to par and the gameplay is smooth and easy to master. There is even a level where you meet a "Gonzo journalist", or Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas). There is an achievement called "This is bat country!" which is a direct reference to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

This mouse rocks, The three fire button is great for any game, I play BF2 and BF 2142 and I use the button all the time.

This thing looks great and the cord is so small it feels like it is cordless! Changing DPI on the fly is great when you are scoped in and cant aim as fast or your in a TOW and you turn the DPI up and now the TOW swivels like some one sprayed WD40 on it in game! I have tested a lot of mouses and this is the best one yet!

Hope this helps, Rot05

I love this mouse!! I play Counter-Strike, and it makes it so much easier to shoot. It is very good quality, runs very smooth, and is crazy cool!

Honest reviews on A4 Tech 3xFire 2500 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse

I initially had issues with the mouse maintaining connection with my computer. I found a software application from Yahoo that kept disconnecting it. Once the software was removed I have had very little trouble. The mouse is comfortable to use and has quick response during my gaming. I have recommended this mouse to some of the other people that participate with me on line in Counter Strike.

I decided to give this mouse a go by a recommendation from a friend. I wanted something durable, high performance, and without all the flashy lights and such.

This mouse is exactly that. The performance is much better than I anticipated. It has a great rubberized feel to it. There are also rubbery ribs down the left side to increase your grip. Feels very comfortable. The tracking is fantastic. Very very smooth, and depending on your dpi setting it can be very fast. It really helps in FPS as it makes turning and aiming very smooth and accurate.

Worked out of the box with Windows 7. Didn't install the drivers as they where not needed. The side buttons have a nice rubber feel to them. They are very responsive and right where they need to be. The main buttons respond very fast as well.

The mouse looks great. Matt with gloss black highlights. The dpi button changes color depending on the dpi settings you use. Nice and subtle. Build quality is probably the best I've seen. I sort of wish the cord was a softer material, but it doesn't get in the way, and is very thin. Seems durable so it was probably the right choice. Highly recommended.

This is a phenomenal product! Very high quality, easy to install and very good looking. The ModSticks product is excellent. The only thing I didn't like were the dish shapes, they are a bit deep and without rubber coating. The build quality is excellent and the custom heights are awesome. My thumbs still did not slip off the sticks even though they are aluminum, but I personnaly prefer rubberized tops which can be achieved with a set of Grip-It covers.Grip-iT Analog Stick Covers

Honest reviews on Modsticks Pro Xbox 360 Controller Analog Sticks (Silver)

The idea of having adjustable thumb stick heights is good.

Raising the height allows a more presice aiming method as you need to travel further.

Pros:

Modsticks Pro are made of high quality precision aluminium

The shaft is about half the diametre of the original, giving you greater range of movement

Cons:

The sticks are too long, even when using no spacers

The thumb hats are like butter knives cutting into your thumbs

The surface is also slippery, even with the knurled and turned top.

Solution:

If the dome and thumbstick shafts were each 2mm shorter and a PS3 style

rubber thumb hat were atop giving grip, it would be fantastic.

I made these modifications and it now opperates smoothly.

PokePark is in danger again, and it is up to Pikachu and his friends to save the day (no pesky humans, such as Ash, allowed).

While appearing quite similar to the first game, there are some major changes. First, there are two adventures (I assume there is no third). The first took my daughter (age 11) about eight hours to complete, but after the credits roll, the story continues (if one wants). The continuation seems to cater to the nature of a completist; younger players may be satisfied with the main, initial quest and forego the backtracking and gathering the epilogue requires (my daughter has not finished the second part).

In addition, this game is structured differently than the first. There is more need to battle, chase, and complete quizzes than participate in attractions/mini-games. Also there is limited side-scrolling action, and I will say that the game is a tad more difficult than the first. Not every character is a pushover, and players are required to level up the four Pokemon they use (and the leveling up process too is a bit more sophisticated).

Most of the Pokemon here are from the recent Black and White series, though many classic Pokemon show up. The game seems to be a worthy follow up with fine graphics and some interesting gameplay advances and tweaks to the old format. Remember that there is plenty of text to read in this game so very young players may need assistance.

UPDATE : My daughter completed the second adventure. It only takes a few additional hours of collecting items with the occasional battle. One can continue if one wishes to collect all the remaining Pokemon as friends. Plus, the Battle area offers some additional tough challenges.

PokePark 2 delivers exactly what it promises, more of the same. On those terms, it's a 5 star game. Compared to a Nintendo Franchise title aimed at an older player, it comes in at 2.5 stars. If you didn't like PokePark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure you won't like PokePark 2. This is a pretty shallow run around and complete simple tasks game without a deep storyline or much complexity. While that won't satisfy an adult or older player, It's perfect for kids that want to play Pokemon but aren't ready for complicated games. It is also beautiful enough to hold the interest of a Pokemon mad older player if they have a high tolerance for repetitive play. My 7 & 12 year old both wanted this sequel. While they play the first game intermittently, I didn't think the original was worth full price. Each kicked in half the cost (about where I would have priced this) out of their own wallets so we picked it up after school. I had to drag them off it at bedtime.

PokePark 2 would be best for poke-mad players ages 5 7 but it won't grow with their abilities like a Mario themed game will.

My son is 6 years old. He saw the commercial on TV and he wanted the game. We finally got it for him on Thursday. He played it over the weekend. He really likes the story and he can do everything on his own (his reading is on 2nd/3rd grade). I played few mini games with him and it is fun. I can't say anything about the storyline as I wasn't with him when he played. However, the graphic looks pretty good, the control seems smooth. He also enjoys the challenges and the training part of his pokemons. He gets really excited every time he acquired a new pokemon on his team. He told me on Sunday morning that this is the best game ever -he has about 5-10 games that he plays exclusively.

Review of Cideko Air Keyboard Conqueror - Playstation 3

Cideko Air Keyboard Conqueror - Playstation 3
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

I have never written a review before; I have never felt so inclined. I read enough of them, usually by idiots who don't own the product or know how to use it. I figure I'll write one for you guys who *really* want to know about the product. There is a lot of obvious things that are mentioned in *many* reviews, so I won't go into those things in detail, but this will be a *very* detailed review. I give this product 3 stars, because how you want to use it will either mean 5 stars or 1.

First, about the overall gamepad physically: the product feels cheap for such an expensive device. Very plastic-y, the grey grips on the side are not rubberized (they should be), and they are not perfectly smooth where they meet the black (You can actually feel the line in your hands--you shouldn't). It is otherwise well thought-out, comfortable, and functional. The keys are spaced well and tactile, the buttons press smoothly, and the analog sticks track well. Glad they put a receiver slot in the bottom if I take it with me.

The buttons show one of the problems with the company itself: They *really* need to get their act together. The particular model I have is AK08B (purchased from this listing *refurbished* from Warehouse Deals)...it has buttons that are squared on the outside, with numbers and PS logos on them. The start button has a power logo on it.

...Click through all the pictures of this listing. All of the buttons on all of the pictures are different! And they all exist! Cideko's website is *mostly* consistent, but it makes the problem actually worse, since there are different models--as far as their site is concerned, this *variant* doesn't exist, nor a couple other combinations I've seen. Hard to give a review when the "same" product is physically different depending on where/when it comes from...

There are so many combinations to this thing (possibly due to TM legal issues with Sony?) it's not even funny:

Regular buttons:

Squared or fully round (I would have preferred round)

numbers or numbers/PS shapes

Start button:

power logo or PS logo

You can get [I have seen pics of, at least] almost every combination of the above...do you like roulette? I don't. I should be able to buy something and know exactly what I am getting. Not with this product. There is a reason for model numbers. Sure, most of it is printing, but the *BUTTON SHAPE* is pretty friggin' important for a controller!

Here are the models I know of:

AK08 (Cideko.com) Air Keyboard Conquerer cideko shows it in white and black (*same* model number!), but is at least consistent, no PS logos and squared buttons...although other versions exist (and are shown in the manual from the same page).

AK08b (NOT even on Cideko.com) Air Keyboard Conquerer (What I got)...does the 'B' mean black? Is there even model # variations for different button shapes?

AK08c (Cideko.com) Bluetooth Air Keyboard Conquerer grey with black edges. Actually has more capability with less battery life. Shows round buttons, even though squared ones exist for this too. Yay.

AK10 (Cideko.com) Basic Air Keyboard Conquerer What is *basic* is their listed info. All of the specs listed match the regular one. Shown with rounded buttons.

Speaking of specs, the site shows 3 hr charge time. My *packaging* shows 3-4. Which is it? Their documentation conflicts, or isn't even present. Go to their site, download their manual (for US/"Candna" -really? I didn't know "Candna" was a country...) and you'll find no mention of the fact that holding 9/SELECT or 10/START will re-orient your mouse in "3D" (gyromouse) mode.

Their site lists multiple versions of the keymap software on the main page, with cryptic names. Not until you download them can you figure out which is the most recent version.

Which bring this long review to the functional aspects, which are *really* a mixed bag:

RF: is decent, but fickle. Their antennae placement in *my version* (AK08b) left me wondering why it worked fine for me @ ~15' away but not for my daughter...the reason? It was that she kept holding it vertically, and it would cut out sporadically. Really annoying. So at 15+ feet, make sure you hold the controller more horizontally.

The keyboard: works well, rarely misses a press. chiclet keys that are great for rare-typing HTPC use.

The gyromouse: works well and clearly has a good sensor. The tracking works to a pixel or 2 on my 18' screen and is as good as any gyration I have used, but lacking an *easily* accessible toggle like gyration products have. The mouse button placement is fair, but (thankfully) you can remap the clicks to any gamepad button.

The gamepad: is good; the buttons have good tension, but again I wish it had the round buttons I see advertised. The d-pad is odd, as the entire assembly is on a post and rocks like a hat switch with what feels like a small octagonal restrictor. It hits diagonals easily enough, the 4 cross edges are textured. The L2/R2 are very triangular--shaped very differently than most PS controllers I have seen, aftermarket or otherwise. I like them fine, but these things are personal preference.

USB charging: If you assume that this will turn it into a play and charge wired device, you are a fool like me. It *just* charges...you still have to play through the RF dongle. That said, for the MSRP, they should have included a high-amp 5V USB wall-wart and the ability to charge this in under 3 (3-4? lol) hours.

Putting all of these things together is where you will love this device, or be thoroughly pissed off (and return it). I bought this for everything it offers (*should* offer) on my living room pc. I love me some gyromouse, I use mostly HTPC and games. I wanted to kill the keyboard and mouse. I *almost* could. This device is *almost* awesome.

HTPC users will love it. Gamers *might*.

The keymap software is cludgy, with no real documentation. It could have made this product shine, but drags it down instead. It is a resident software that will let you configure *3* (nameless) profiles to remap any buttons to any keyboard or mouse clicks, and the 4 'D' buttons to launch apps or run (limited) pre-defined commands. It supports *simultaneous* multiple keypress assignment, but no ordering (macro). It also supports duration by ms (millisecond) input. Haven't tried specifying duration with multiple keys, but seriously doubt that has much use. After 3 profiles (hope you remember which one is for what game/program!), you have to export it a file, which you can also load.

The software should support many more profiles, names for them, and ideally either give you a quick button to pop up a selection window (since it is a resident background app and all), or track the active window and switch accordingly, or not require to be running at all. It keeps this good product from being great. The controller requires a dongle, so for $100, they couldn't throw a few megs of flash into it? Include the mapping software (autorun if need be) and store the profiles? They obviously design this to take with you (they put a receiver slot in it) but you'll have to load the software and profiles from a thumbdrive if you do.

The software also lets you map a thumbstick to mouse simulation. I was excited about this because my wife sucks at using a gyromouse (it is an acquired skill). However, this is only useful in a narrow range of scenarios, because it is non-adjustable. It moves ridiculously slow, with no speed setting or acceleration at all, defeating the purpose of using an analog stick, which gives the ability to set a speed/travel relationship. It was a feature that could (and should) have been great, that they *completely* dropped the ball on.

For gamepad-designed games, this controller can be better than my venerable 360 controller, because of it's digital trigger design. Assassin's Creed 2, for example, auto-maps the analog triggers of a 360 controller to the view (since analog s Z axis) so by default you only get a left-right camera control. Since the triggers on this are just buttons, it correctly gave the right thumbstick control, so I have full/proper view control. Some games control re-assignments don't let you remap axis' (axii?) so this can be useful.

The ability to hit the mode button to swap d-pad/thumbstick can be nice, but it doesn't change or help the mouse control.

If you are good with a gyromouse, and bought this to play a game designed for a mouse and limited keyboard keys, such as Diablo III (like I did) **THIS IS WHEN YOU WILL RETURN THE PRODUCT**. This is when the integration falls apart.

I got all my keys mapped to the gamepad buttons (including mouse-clicks), loaded up the game and started off (as a witch doctor, for all you d3 guys). In this scenario you hold shift and aim with the (gyro)mouse. *YOU CAN'T*!! (**If I am one of those idiots I mentioned, *please* let me know)

This device doesn't let you move the gyromouse when pressing a button. Even worse, I suspect this may have been by design, to assist in clicking on something in gyromouse mode (your hand naturally moves when pressing a button, possibly making things like clicking a link difficult to for some users).

There should be an ability to turn this off, as this is a *CRITCIAL DESIGN FLAW*. The fact that you can't use the mouse and gamepad simultaneously takes most of the functionality of this combination design and throws it right out the friggin' window. This makes this controller *WORTHLESS* for any combination where you need mouse+gamepad. You *can* use the thumbstick-mouse simulation with the buttons (as it is all part of the 'gamepad device') but due to the aforementioned issues, that is worthless too. For kicks and giggles, I tried the shift key on the onboard keyboard while using the gyromouse, and while using the gamepad, and that all works. Due to the chiclet keys and their locations, you can't really use this approach either.

This device was *almost* awesome.

keyboard + gyromouse = fine

keyboard + gamepad = fine

gamepad + gyromouse = *FAIL*

(If you are awesome enough to need all 3 simultaneously, you're screwed too, you octopus.)

So this device has some great features, and some really not-so-great. Cideko needs to fix their website, get all the models clarified, and fix the glaring flaw with the mouse+gamepad combo and thumbstick-mouse, which I suspect could be done with a software update. That software really needs fixing anyway.

Despite the not-so-great, if you are an HTPC user, or don't map buttons, or play Diablo III (or games like it), this piece of kit is a godsend.

If you just bought this $100 controller to play Diablo III, just remember that Amazon doesn't let you return a box of plastic pieces--before you shatter this thing against the wall.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program NOTE: This review is specifically about using this device for a MediaPC running Windows.

Prior to this device I used a wireless keyboard/mouse combo for a MediaPC in the living room. The wireless keyboard was not rechargeable and it used a touchpad on the right side as the mouse, with the buttons below it. It wasn't very user friendly and we actually had to disable the "tap" on the touchpad because it was so sensitive we were mouse clicking as we moved the cursor. The mouse buttons weren't in a great spot either, and the keyboard was full size and took up too much room.

So when I saw this product I was pretty jazzed. The keyboard is more like a mobile tablet or phone easy enough to use with just thumb typing perhaps. Plus with the mouse keys in more intuitive places at each finger, how can you go wrong?

And I was NOT disappointed. This device gets high scores from me for a number of reasons.

1. Rechargeable battery that is built-in. We've already got power at the MediaPC area so it's quick and easy to plug this remote in when it needs it. No more worrying about batteries. That's just a personal peeve of mine to run around looking for batteries ESPECIALLY when it's for the keyboard.

2. It behaves like a Wii remote. Just point the controller where you want the mouse to go and it does! It's very easy to manipulate the mouse no matter where you're pointing, because it's all done with motion/gyro. For me this is so much easier than having to move a joystick or run my finger along a trackpad. I know I've used the word several times already, but it's just INTUITIVE to point where you want to go. The level of granularity is sufficient that I'm not accidentally clicking on things I am not hovering over as well.

3. Which leads me to the buttons. On the keyboard aspect, the buttons are easy to click and provide sufficient tactile feedback that you know you've done it. Even for large fingered-people, you shouldn't have any trouble pressing a single button at a time. You'll also find your normal "windows key" and duplicated alt/ctrl for those who like to have them on both sides. As to the other buttons, there's plenty of programability here if you want to install the software and customize. I've only programmed one thing, and that's opening a browser window. It's just as easy to double click the icon, but I wanted to test it out. The mouse buttons are in the right places for this. Left click with your left hand, right click with your right. On previous keyboards I was having to hold the keyboard with my left and then mouse+click with my right.

Some other things the big button lights up blue when you're connected, and it connects FAST. Press it and your mouse/keyboard is ready to go almost instantly. I like not having to wait for some kind of wireless sync. Long press it again when you're done and it shuts off so you don't waste battery if you don't need to.

It works from all over the living room. Specs say 10 meters and I've walked all over the place and still been able to control it. Doesn't mean I can see where I'm clicking, but I can click ;-).

Because I'm using this for a MediaPC I am speaking strictly about those functions. I'm not using it for wireless gaming at all, so the joysticks and and PS2-style buttons are not useful for running around in Windows.

The device is very lightweight and can be controlled with just one hand if so desired, since much of the mousing is left click I can just point and click all with my left hand. Could never do that with a full size wireless keyboard/mouse combo.

And so for my purposes on a MediaPC in the living room this device is near perfection. I'm going to give it a full set of stars for MediaPC functions.

Best Deals for Cideko Air Keyboard Conqueror - Playstation 3

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have a new 2011 Mac Mini that i use for my media center, running Windows 7 Ultimate. That is the front end for my Windows Home Server in the basement. So I get all my content through my TV and this computer, and I've been using various keyboards with it, and have tried a lot of options in keyboards on a home theater PC since I started even before the days of Microsoft's Media Center option.

Lately I've been using my Logitech Dinivo Mini, which has been an outstanding choice for an easy to use keyboard / mouse controller that is a small form factor. I also have the bluetooth wireless keyboard and trackpad from Mac for when I need something a little more full sized. But I like to find alternatives the Logitech one has some problems with the A button not being consistent... A couple months ago I tested one that was offered through the Vine program, but while it started out a very strong contender and very functional, it only took a few weeks before it was pretty much useless and inoperative unless you unplugged and replugged the receiver into your computer. Which was odd, since the computer never shuts down, never sleeps, so there should've been no reason for that.

So when I saw this offered on the Vine program, I grabbed it, since I also always like to try out replacement controllers for my PS3 I'm not at all a fan of their controllers. And their answer for a keyboard is laughable compared to the nice unit that the Xbox has. So here was my chance to try something to replace the lackluster PS3 controllers, allow me to type on the PS3 with a better keyboard than was presently available, and to boot it can work with my media center...

I had it on the media center PC first, and it worked very well. Keyboard has a nice feel to it for a mini sized thing like this, good tactile and audible feedback for button presses, you can feel and hear the click. The controller itself fits in the hands about as comfortably as the Xbox controllers do, which is high praise from me since they are by far my favorite as far as ergonomics go. It's shockingly lightweight, and easy to hold.

The gyroscopic control of the mouse takes a little getting used to, and has a tendency to get a little off track if you hit the borders, but the two buttons right next to the power button in the middle will reset it so that when you release either one, the cursor is reset to where the controller was positioned at that time. So just hold the button, get it oriented where you want it again, and let go. Easy enough, but a bit of a pain at times, yet should be easy to avoid if you just keep in mind the constraints in movement when you're controlling the mouse.

Buttons for left and right mouse buttons are in good positions as well, and work just fine in all the apps I've tried.

So onto the PS3. Got the receiver plugged in there and immediately it was recognized. But the mouse is so sensitive that it flies through the menus insanely quickly. And that's really a problem for people with PS3 use. I've found no way to disable the gyroscopic controls yet, the online PDF documentation is pretty sparse. But any little movement of the hypersensitive gyro sensors makes it sound like a kid with cards in the spokes going by, because it makes the menu options fly by so quickly. The game control itself is fine when you're in a game and doing normal controller movement with the sticks, but the main menus, or the menus in the online system just move so fast that it's easy to shoot right by what you wanted.

So for the mouse control of a computer, it does a nice job gyroscopic control on the PS3? Has more work to be done, at least options needed to disable them altogether so you can control things better.

Edit a commenter let me know which button kills the gyro, so I've upped this to 4 stars then since that alleviates the annoyance with the PS3. Thanks!

Honest reviews on Cideko Air Keyboard Conqueror - Playstation 3

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Cideko Air Keyboard Conqueror does a better job as a media PC controller and casual PC game controller than the Logitech diNovo Mini and I'm a big fan of the diNovo Mini! While the Cideko is a little larger and not as sleek looking, it wins in nearly every aspect of usability.

One of my pet peeves about the diNovo Mini are the missing keys. The absence of an escape key, basic function keys and several others can make for some frustration, especially for surfing the web (just think how many time you end up needing the "ESC" key). The Cideko has all the keys a standard QWERTY computer keyboard has, and a few more. I also prefer the tactile response of the Cideko over the diNovo. The diNovo keys are a little on the "mushy" side, while the Cideko keys give you a nice "crisp" click when a key is depressed.

My other major peeve with the diNovo is the mouse/cursor control. The finger pad on the diNovo is very difficult to use and just doesn't track at all well. I found the gyroscopic control system on the Cideko to be tons easier to use and muck better for "fine" movement.

There is plenty of programability on the Cideko. My initial interest in this keyboard was as a game controller for PC based games and I have not been disappointed. The key assignment is easy and flexible, allowing me to setup the keyboard just like I want.

I like being able to turn off the unit when I'm finished, rather then waiting for it to "time out".

I like how fast it connects.

I like its range. My living room is about 25-feet long and this unit works great from the furthest corner.

The response time for commands in games is great for a wireless controller. Give this little keyboard a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have gamers in my family. Lots of them. In addition to owning a PS3, XBox 360 and a Wii, there are also multiple PCs in my home (which all have games on them).

I was drawn to this controller because I thought it would make entering text into PS3 games soooo much easier than using the on-screen keyboard. I really didn't expect the controller to be so exceptional! It doesn't feel much larger in your hands than a regular PS3 controller and the button and control pads are just as smooth so it is a big hit with my youngest son who plays Little Big Planet every chance he gets.

The biggest surprise is what a fantastic PC game controller this is. It also functions as a mouse and indeed, the second I plugged in the usb dongle, my PC picked it up as a mouse. It has additional supplied software to further refine the mouse and button functions but I've never even installed them because I didn't need to.

The controller on the PC is smooth and responsive and a pleasure to game with. We are currently playing Skyrim for PC and everyone remarks on how great the game play with this controller is. In fact, I am purchasing another one so we don't have to take turns using this one!

It is has a rechargeable battery and comes with a usb charging cable. Battery life is very good, IMO.

If you have gamers in your household, this is a great addition!

First of all, let me say that I own both NBA Live 2004 and ESPN NBA, and that hands down this game is the better one of the two. It's a very solid hoops game, but it still has some problems.

The GOOD: Amazing graphics. Accurate player faces for EVERY SINGLE player in the league! The graphics blow Live away it's not even funny. The control also feels less frantic and more precise than Live, and the ISOmotion control, while clearly ripped off from Live's Freestyle, works pretty well. The 24/7 mode, which allows you to build a baller and play a variety of mini games and contests, is fun and addictive. It's not perfect, as some of the objectives are frustrating or boring, but it's a neat innovation that some lesser companies would sell as a separate game! The depth of customization is amazing, especially in terms of gameplay sliders, meaning the game can be as arcady or realistic as you like. The passing is much improved, and the commentary is decent. Tons of unlockables (teams, gear, courts) make this game addictive as well! Overall, a great game.

The Bad: Camera angles. So many developers overlook this, the most fundamental presentation element of any game. 2K3 had virtually infinite camera angles, since you could customize angle of elevation, zoom, etc for each camera. This year, we have... 5, and they all stink. You get to choose between "behind the player" and a couple of utterly useless "sideline" angles which give you no depth perception at all. Limited customization of your player is also a downer, given the attention to detail elsewhere. There are only a handful of faces and skin-tones, and they're pretty generic.

The Ugly: Some Isomotion moves feel out-of-control and result in you turning the ball over. I can't stand the stats layout, it feels pretty kindergarten.

Wish list for 2K5: More camera angles, more ESPN content like post-game interviews/player of the week extras, more player model customization, more intuitive menus.

This game is just amazing, from the movement of the uniforms, to the animations, to the best gameplay I have ever played in a basketball game, I mean, hands down this game is number one. The graphics were a HUGE upgrade from last years 2k3 Every player model is perfect (cept for Kobe's Tattoo) I mean SPOT ON. I also think the effect of the jersey swaying and moving when going in for a dunk or a lay-up is sooo sweet. The gameplay is outstanding, I absolutely LOVE the ISO-Motion It really adds so much to the game. The commentary isnt the best, but it isnt the worst either. Tom tolbert does an okay job being that its his rookie year in video games. But the crowd and music is awesome. I Love the AI difficulty, that rocks. everything else is good too. Like the 24/7 mode, I found it okay, maybe i just need to play it more. Thats all I have I give it a 9.8 out of 10

I got this game last christmas and I've had trouble

putting the control down. The new 24/7 mode is a good

addition. You go around courts play different kind of

games.... One on one, Two on Two, no turbo and all kinds

of things. It does at times get alittle repetitive and

annoying.. But once you have finished it you will feel

like it was a good accomplishment.

The graphics are pretty decent... But there are alot of

options on this game. I've always liked the sliders but

better than the standard EASY, MEDIUM, HARD stuff. You

can adjust everything from the shoot percentages to the

steals and even double teams and such. The players move

up and down the court depending on what you have the

options set on. You can slow the players down which tends

to lead to lower scoring games or go full blast to turn

it closer to arcade. The one thing that bothers me is the

lack of runable plays. You have 4 standard offenses and it

feels like it was dumbed down for the bandwagon fans to be

able to operate it. When facing the computer on harder

levels the lack of plays makes it alittle together and

sometimes turns the game into one on one trying to beat

your man. Another thing that gets on my nerves is that

you can't make adjustments to the Bobcats roster. WHY???

I don't think you can even pick the franchise in franchise

mode. Speaking of the franchise mode, it's fairly good on

here... Depending on which team. I choose the Lakers do to

the big cap they have. A big problem is the contracts. One

thing I don't like is that you can't re-sign FA's until

they're contracts is up... That really gets on my nerves.

The other modes are pretty much run of the mill.

Pros:

-Lots of options

-24/7 Mode

-NBA draft workout thing is cool

-Decent one on one mode

-Good legends teams

-Iso Motion

good detailed players

Cons:

-Post game is mediocre

-Can't adjust the Bobcats team in any way

-Can't re-sign players before contracts are up

-If the computer steals the ball from you it counts

as two turnovers instead of one

-Lack of plays. Sorry, some people like more than 4 lousy

plays.

Honest reviews on ESPN NBA Basketball 2k4 - Xbox

I just got my Xbox and this ESPN basketball game a few days ago, and although it's fun, I have to say that it's not quite as good as the EA NBA Live 2004 game. I've played the EA game on my brother's Playstation 2 and found the game-play to be a LOT more fun and dramatic.

The ESPN only has one shoot button, whereas the EA game's 2 buttons allows you to shoot a jumper or go for a dunk. Also, the freestyle stick in the EA game is much more functional. With ESPN, 3 out of 4 times when I use the "iso-motion" stick i get called for charging. That's a load of c---. Why is it there?

Another thing I like about the EA game is that the camera gets in closer to the action. With the ESPN game I don't feel as involved in the action. I feel like I'm in the stands.

I also prefer the audio on the EA game. The commentators are more verbose and excited. (And the music is better.)

Overall, the ESPN is a good game, but it just seems a bit more clunky than the Electronic Arts NBA Live game. So my recommendation: spend your cash on the Electronic Arts ball game.

Ok lets get real here. Before you read this please understand that I've spent an unbelievable amount of time on Sega basketball games in the past. That's why I know so much about it because I used to play it so much. With that said, it's obvious that sega sports (now espn) was just in a hurry to rush this game out. Your supposed to improve on games not make them worse. Sega's last title NBA 2K3 was way better than this garbage. They completely overhauled this game just to make it more arcadish. You used to be able to square up and strafe when playing defense by pressing the left trigger.....not anymore. Now it's impossible to keep anyone out of the paint. You can just run a pick and roll all day. This is why the computer will get 50 assists a game on you. And it can't be stopped.

Another reason it appears they rushed this game is because there aren't near as many camera angles as there used to be. Now your forced to go with what they have instead of customizing it yourself.

The graphics are starting to get cheasy now. The only time the players look good is during cut scenes.

The only reason they put the isomotion moves in this game is because they wanted to try to copy NBA Live 2004 which came out first. Your teammates don't help you rebound. The characters start dribbling between their legs for no reason and won't stop, then you turn the ball over. A lot of the NBA players & rookies are missing, and it only allows you to create about 10 players. The game sliders don't seem to have any affect on the game. I put the shooting sliders down all the way for the computer and they were still hitting shots from all over the place! When you pass the ball the receiver of the pass jumps up in the air for no reason messing up your offense. When there's a loose ball, your teammates don't rush to it, but the computer sure does.

Now then, I'm not here to promote any basketball video game. Personally, I've tried all the new basketball games, and they all stink! My advise, wait until next year and see if they improve, because they are not worth your $$. But if you must, then NBA 2K2 & 2K3 are still the best. (Even though there are a few problems with those too, I enjoyed those two a great deal. Peace......

First things first -

If you haven't played the first Assassin's Creed and subsequent releases (or at LEAST starting with II, and going forward) go no further. Do yourself a service and start with II as a bare minimum and work yourself forward to this, the 3rd in the Ezio Auditore trilogy. Otherwise, you'll be completely lost.

For those of you familiar with the story, you're going to find Ezio Auditore in his twilight years on a quest to find Altair's legendary, yet quite well-protected, library. The Templars have caught wind of it and Ezio is also trying to find his way in to thwart their attempts at worldwide control. This is hardly a spoiler as you're quickly brought into this within minutes of beginning to play Ezio no further spoilers here.

From the standpoint of playing all of the previous Assassin's Creed entries, how does this one fare? Well, I finally played it tonight and I must say that it is really quite remarkable. There's a major change in the way that combat is handled you select a primary and then a secondary weapon so that you can enter a sword fight and then throw knives at will, for example (no longer do you have to constantly "weapon wheel" between sword and throwing knives constantly). Graphic engine has been updated and it's quite smooth; I don't find it stuttering nearly as often as it used to. Even the story itself has been given a facelift now there's more of a cohesive, unified story rather than a series of seemingly disjointed events culminating in your goal in the first place of killing "x" person because he did "y". "Eagle vision" also has some significant improvements, some subtle and some not. For example, in addition to identifying enemies, you'll actually see faint red lines indicating a guard's patrol route. This enhances the formulation of tactics. In other cases, where smoke bombs are even more effective at obscuring your enemies' ability to attack you, "eagle vision" will actually allow you to pierce the cloud and attack your enemies at will. In addition, you will be collecting materials to craft a variety of different bombs (lethal and non-lethal). The animations of Ezio kill moves are superb and some of his abilities show that Ezio, in his twilight years, is deadlier than ever. The music, as always, is very well-done and the voice acting is even better than usual. The beginning of the game reminds me of Matrix Revolutions, but I do mean this in a good way.

The environments are breathtakingly beautiful. The game has departed from Italy and finds itself in Constantinople, once the true crossroads of the world between Europe and Asia when the United States was still a mere 264 years away from declaring its own independence. Ezio finds himself with new equipment (the hook blade is fun opening a variety of attacks as well as an ability to zip line around your environment fantastic!), friends (including a romantic interest), and actually enters into the conflict politically it's no longer a mere Templar/Assassin conflict. There are layers to appreciate here as Ezio makes an ally and as I am starting to delve into it, I truly appreciate what Ubisoft has created here.

If there is one thing that I have to complain about, it's the mode where you have to defend your own Assassin's Keeps in addition to creating them for those of you familiar with Brotherhood. It becomes a "tower defense" game at this point...and I don't mean that in a flattering way. It's one thing that Ubisoft could have omitted (or seriously improved upon) without impacting the story whatsoever. It comes off as a silly gimmick that didn't appear to have been given a significant amount of thought in terms of how it flows with the rest of the interlocking parts. This is an oprhan 301st piece in a 300-piece puzzle; it doesn't fit and, quite honestly, you don't really need it to complete the experience.

I haven't had a chance to explore multiplayer too much, but what I've seen so far seems to indicate that Ubisoft has taken the best parts of Brotherhood and have added both modes and additional customization not seen before. I'm more into the story then the multiplayer, but Revelations has shown me enough to convince me to give it a try...later. Assassin's Creed is still, first and foremost, about continuing a quite fascinating story. And the final chapter to the overall story arc (with Ezio's presumably ending here, if rumors are believed) is to come in yet a single year, although how Ubisoft plans to bring this epic to a conclusion in the absence of such a strong character like Ezio has my curiosity piqued.

Despite the fault of "tower defense", everything else is so vastly improved that I still have to give it a solid 4.75 stars (5 stars on the Amazon scale don't think it deserves a 4). Enough said get it and enjoy!

I received the Assassin's Creed Revelations Signature Edition, it comes with a bunch of extras (including the original Assassin's Creed) but I haven't checked those out yet.

I've only been playing for a few hours and without spoiling any of it, I think Ubisoft has done a fine job producing another installment of the Assassin's Creed series. The graphics are great, the story line is engaging and leaves you wondering "where is the apple?" I'm very pleased with the improvements made in combat scenarios and weaponry (which was already pretty good to start with). However, with all these additions it means the controls have changed slightly, but I haven't found it to be too much of a nuisance or hassle as the quick introductory tutorials were helpful.

Assassin's Creed Revelations in my opinion is a solid 4 out of 5 stars, the only thing holding it back from that extra star is that it still feels a bit recycled from previous AC games. However, I would still recommend this game to a friend and especially someone who already enjoys the Assassin's Creed game series.

UPDATE:

It's somewhat difficult to lower Ezio's infamy because of a lack of heralds to bribe and officials to assassinate (I haven't seen any wanted posters). Because of this I don't really care for Ezio's infamy going up when I renovate a shop. It doesn't bother me as much when the infamy goes up because I've recruited another assassin or taken a Templar den, as these are more infrequent than renovations. But since the Templar's don't attack unless Ezio's infamy is extremely high, this is only a small nuisance so far.

The game is significantly more interactive than its predecessors, which I think makes it even more engaging than I initially thought. The weaponry is exceptional, Ubisoft really went above and beyond with crafting very unique and innovative weaponry (and combat techniques) which weren't seen in previous games. I also really enjoy how polished and fluid Ezio's movements are during free running and combat.

PROS

Great graphics

Engaging story line

Improved combat and weaponry

More developed and interactive game play than its predecessors

CONS

Some of the story line feels a bit recycled from previous AC's

Controls have changed slightly

Infamy increases when renovating shops, as well as recruiting assassins and taking over a Templar den; lack heralds, officials and NO wanted posters

Visuals, Gameplay, and Story what more can you ask of a game?

After I sat out the previous Assassin's Creed games, I was not so sure if it would be a good idea to start playing from the middle of the series. Well after about 9 straight game playing hours, I can safely say that tomorrow is shot, and I have had a blast with this game!

What works well?

1. The visuals are gorgeous -

Whether it is Ezio's motion-cap as he climbs up and down walls; or the smooth cinematic swordplay; or the sights and sounds of medieval Constantinople; or the haunting melodic soundtrack; this feels so much more than just a game. The reflection from the pool of water in the Yerebatan Cistern is to be experienced. The graphics are beyond awesome!

2. Gameplay is excellent

This is a fast paced action game, with deep elements of strategy. This definitely isn't a button masher, as it is important to maintain stealth through many missions.

Voice acting is wonderful with authentic-sounding Italian accents (at least to my ears). The characters are also well fleshed out and you certainly meet some intriguing ones in your travels, including Yusuf Tazim who teaches Ezio bomb crafting and the use of the hook blade.

In addition, the gameplay is extremely varied with many mini-games such as a Benhur style chariot race and a tower defense sequence where you must protect your den from waves of incoming enemy troops.

There's also an eagle vision mode which works much like Detective mode in Arkham Asylum, and helps identify your foes and discover clues in the environment (mostly treasure).

3. Absorbing story

Once I started, I literally could not stop. Being new to this series, I probably should have begun by playing the first few games. Not being familiar with Desmond, Altair, and Ezio, it was much harder to get invested in their problems. Likewise, not knowing what the Animus is, can really put a crimp in your enjoyment. Despite that I still managed to enjoy the game.

What doesn't work well?

The climbing mechanics are nowhere as forgiving as you would encounter in games like Infamous or Uncharted. Every wrong move you make is penalized with a long slow drop, often to your death.

In addition, the crowds keep getting in your way and while it is realistic, crowd behavior can be annoying when they constantly complain as you try to get through them.

Finally, for those new to the franchise, I would note that the combat system is quite complex. In addition to the standard Primary and Secondary Attack buttons, there are moves to disarm your opponent (R1+square); to perform a hook and throw combination (R1 + tap O); to throw a heavy weapon (Hold Square and release); etc. There's even a X to kick the opponent to throw off his defense. All in all this was a bit too complex for me, personally so I tended to stay within a smaller subset of the combos.

Did I enjoy this game? Without a doubt yes. This is motion-cap based gaming at its best you can almost swear that it is a human rather than a CG generated image at times.

Definitely a winner from Ubisoft!

Happy Playing!

Honest reviews on Assassin's Creed Revelations

The day before release, I decided to take a peek at the reviews for Assassin's Creed: Revelations, just to get a better idea of what I was getting myself into. I was somewhat disappointed with that I had found. Reviewers made the game feel glitchy, incomplete, and rushed. At midnight that same day, I was eager to get my hands on the game to see just what everybody was complaining about.

What I found was a game with an interesting, engaging story coupled with the fun gameplay from past iterations. Needless to say I breathed a sigh of relief.

My completion time for the game was somewhere around 10 hours (which was roughly the same as Brotherhood) over the course of two day. One might think that completing the main story in a game would leave a player feeling cheated, but it was exactly the opposite. Everything having to do with the story was so interesting that I just couldn't wait to zipline over to the next exclamation point to see what happened next. I don't want to do into any spoilers, but know that the story is much richer than Brotherhood's, and more filling than the first two games as well.

It wasn't the story alone that kept me playing, it was the gameplay.

The hookblade is a fantastic addition to Ezio's arsenal. He can vault over guards, perform zipline assassinations, collapse scaffoldings with it, execute a wide variety of combat moves, as well as catch himself on a building while free running.

One point I saw reviewers bring up was their total and complete hatred for Den Defense. I'm not sure how you can develop such a serious dislike for it though, since if you keep your Templar Awareness in check, you hardly have to deal with it at all! In my entire time playing, I have only done it one time outside of the tutorial. Just bribe heralds and kill the witnesses and you'll be fine. It really isn't that bad though to be honest. It just takes some getting used to.

Altair's missions were a bit longer than the Christina missions from Brotherhood. I don't want to spoil the actual missions, but despite being short they were an absolute delight to experience.

Desmond's time in the game consists of five first person puzzles detailing his time before his capture by Abstergo. You simply walk forward, using simple block pieces to create a platform in front of you, and listen to Desmond remember his past. It really is quite interesting and while completely optional, provides insight into the character we know very little about.

Well, that's it! I hope you guys don't pass up on this incredible experience! It really was a fantastic game, from beginning to end.

Ezio is getting old, and so is AC. As usual, the graphics and cut scenes are pretty good, the story is decent, and the mechanics have improved. The problem is that is the exact same game as AC, AC II, AC Brotherhood. Minor tweaks to the gameplay and new cities to explore weren't enough for me to really enjoy it this time around.

If this is the first time you have played an Assassin's Creed game, you will love it. It's great (as long as you don't mind missing a lot of back story). If you've played the previous games, you've played this one.

The multiplayer component is fresh and fun, but doesn't have a ton of replay value.

First off, a screw to mount the controller holder was missing. No big deal, only needs 2-3 really to hold it in place. Next, I noticed it was made of fairly cheap plastic. I was expecting this to be a bit more sturdier with the name "vault" slapped on it. I also feared it not fitting properly as I put the casing on, but it proved to fit just snug after I was done.

Overall, despite the few negative things I saw... I actually like it a lot. This is definitely for someone who's looking for a touch of aesthetic appeal & a space saver. Which was exactly what I was looking for. So 4/5 seems fair overall.

Off the bat, the controller looked pretty cool. The box it comes in is pretty stylish. It may look bulky compared to the original PS3 controller but it feels great. The nubs cave in instead of out, the L2 and R2 buttons are more like triggers, and the side grips give the controller a good feel. It even comes with two special buttons underneath that change the light colors and provides an alternate way to use certain buttons (think of it like having 2 "X" buttons or 2 L3 buttons). The battery on this thing is RIDICULOUS. I've gone more than a week of average gaming without charging it. There are a couple of downsides, but they're not HUGE. The placement of the START, SELECT and HOME buttons is kind of weird. There are times when I'm playing a game and my left thumb accidentally touches the HOME button. It gets annoying but it doesn't happen often. Also it has no vibration function, which sucks but you'll live.

This was a good buy, and is very good controller. I really like the green color. The rubber grip feels good in the hand, and there are no dead zone issues.

This controller does however have a few annyoing flaws. There is no sixaxis support, which can be an issue in some game, -1 star. Also, there is no way to disable the extra buttons on the bottom of the controller. I have big hands, and I always accidently hit these buttons in the heat of the action. The only thing I can do to fix this is set them to control the illumination of the sticks instead of mimicking a PS button. That way when I bump them all that happens is the LEDs change color or shut off. No big deal really, but it is annoying, -1 star for that.

This game far exceeded my expectations. It is truly the best action game so far this year, and one of the best actions games of this gen. If you're hankering for some action, or you're just a long time Metal Gear fan, check this title out.

It's certainly a Metal Gear game, though not a Metal Gear Solid game. If you want a focus on sneaking, Ground Zero was already announced a while ago. This game is all about fast, frenetic action... it is a veritable rollercoaster ride of ridiculous scenarios, absurd setpieces, and crisp clean combat. Despite this, there are actually quite a number of sneaking sections in the game, if you choose to go that route... certainly moreso than I expected. Alternatively, you can run into the fray swinging. It's up to you, and each has its advantages. There are over 500 codec conversations for you to explore that expands on the game's lore and characters.

The game focuses on ground based combat with a focus on counters, parries, and the new Zandatsu cutting mechanic. Parallels can be drawn to Ninja Gaiden. Essentially, you can slash your opponents open with the high frequency blade once you enter "Blade Mode" and pull out their electrolyte core to replenish your own health and energy meter.

What's truly revolutionary is the parry/dodge mechanic in the game. Rather than having a dedicated block button, Revengeance makes it a forward+attack input, which maintains offensive momentum. You need to parry every attack coming at you, but the game's window is generous, allowing for a lot of wiggle room until you nail down your timing. And once you nail down that timing? You get perfect parries with counterattacks that lead into Zandatsu (slowdown cutting mechanic where you can steal energy cores).

Even if you don't get the combat, or you're an action game novice, the game features a number of different difficulty levels to tailor the experience to what is most comfortable for you as a player.

The story is filled with its own levels of abrudity, but features a memorable cast and set of bosses. The bosses... Oh, the bosses. They're some of the best of this entire generationmeticulously crafted and exhilarating to fight.

The game is about 8-10 hours long, depending on your skill level and your starting difficulty, and that's not counting the plethora of VR Missions, unlockables, and successive playthroughs. Each difficulty will provide a unique experience with rearranged enemy encounters and enhanced boss behavior. The game is fast paced and addictive. Countless hours can be sunk into it.

Being a long time MGS fan, my hopes were not particularly high with this game. The absurd title, the ludicrous box art (which looks like something from the 90s), the temporary cancellation of the project, and the departure from the MGS tradition, all led me to believe that this was a disaster in the making (despite Platinum's fine track record). Fortunately, I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of this game... "Rising" is a blast to play for anybody who enjoys action games (whether you're an MGS fan or not).

Foremost, the game does manage to retain the feeling that it's actually occurring inside the MGS universe, despite its over-the-top nature (and in terms of physics, anything our protagonist does in "Rising" is not far from what Vamp achieved in MGS2 and 4). Longtime fans will be pleased by the inclusion of familiar sights, sounds, and themes, even if the gameplay is radically different. Raiden, of course, returns, and his inclusion as the protagonist is bound to please any MGS fan who has wanted to step into the shoes of a ninja on the level of the legendary Gray Fox.

The heart of this game, like any action title, is its combat mechanics, and here "Rising" shines. Raiden moves with an effortless grace, and when he strikes, it carries a convincing "weight" that exceeds even the likes of "God of War" and "Bayonetta". His "ninja run" while goofy in name, is a blast to execute, as are his assortment of magnificent combos.

When it comes to Japanese wackiness, I've pretty much seen it all at this point in my life. Giant robots, ninjas, and cyborgs generally come off as tired and cliched to me, but somehow, "Rising" makes these concepts seem fresh and EXCITING. What's the secret? The game uses a beautiful style of presentation that is incredibly slick, resulting in an artistic, vibrant mode of visual storytelling that is a pleasure to behold. Despite the ludicrous dialogue, mediocre voice acting, and marginal plot, the game's visual flair picks up the slack, and makes this somewhat-cheesy story work. It takes cyborg-ninjas (the "Winds of Destruction" are on par with finest of MGS bosses), and makes them viable, turning them into showmen that are simply a blast to watch and engage with. The gameplay is nicely balanced with expertly rendered cut scenes that always impress, and are kept to lengths that are actually appropriate (another breaking from MGS tradition). This game is so visually impressive, it actually made me want a bigger TV, to better digest the spectacle!

The limitations of this game are as follows: The camera will fight against you a bit too often, particularly during blade mode, when it will inexplicably perform a 180 and send you facing the wrong way (while you're using your limited energy to pull off this special move). I hope this is corrected with a future patch. Another weak spot is that the mechanics, while largely intuitive, could have been explained much better during the game. I must have missed the part where they tell you how to parry (a skill you need in order to even get past the first boss, much less complete the game), and I actually had to go online to figure out how to do it. There is no explanation of parrying anywhere in the menus. Hint: Press "square" (X on the 360) and flick the analog stick at the incoming attack at just the right moment, in order to parry.

The greatest weakness, however, is an ill-fitting soundtrack that simply does not fit with the world of MGS. Fortunately, you can go into the options from the menu and turn the music level down, while leaving the sound effects at their normal level. The soundtrack was a point of contention where Platinum butted heads with Konami. I feel that Platinum should have yielded to the judgement of Kojima and Konami on this subject, and once more retained the superb services of composer Harry Gregson-Williams.

I rate "Rising" at 4, possibly 4.5 stars. Depending on the enjoyment that can be gleaned from additional play-throughs and the acquisition of unlockables, I may bump that rating up to 5 stars. This is by no means the best Metal Gear game, but it's a fantastic, thrilling ride by any measure.

So far this is the best game I've played in 2013, and probably the best hardcore action game since Bayonetta. Initially the parry system and lack of a dedicated dodge may seem to be detrimental, but once mastered the combat system is very intuitive and rewarding.

Honest reviews on Metal Gear Rising Revengeance - Xbox 360

The only game that I can think of that even comes close to the sheer genius and robustness of its combat system is God of War 2. But with the unique cutting system and enemy balance that rewards nay, DEMANDS hyper-aggression, MGR:R is something revolutionary. Don't listen to pooh-poohers saying "Blurgh this game is only 5 hours!" That in-game counter counts literally only your fastest time, doesn't count cutscenes, dialog, or exploration scenes, and doesn't take into account the many, many times you will die. Not to mention that this game was built from the ground up to constantly push your skills and leave you wanting for more each successive difficulty amps up enemy aggression and attack patterns, as well as entirely new Boss behaviors. Not to mention the VR Missions will punish you endlessly for your hubris There are 20 of them (30 to be released later as exclusive DLC for the PS3 I believe :( ), and they are brutally savage and can easily take you more than 15 hours to just complete those took me an hour of practice just to beat VR Mission 7.

If you're a fan of action games and you don't buy this game, then you are everything wrong with the video game market right now! Platinum games has made something truly revolutionary here, and Konami has trusted them with a spin-off of the enormously popular Metal Gear franchise. Reward that risk-taking, buy this game, full price. Support the developers, support this kind of innovation!

I just beat it on hard mode. (normal is too easy. i usually start all my games on the harder difficulties)

I did try Revengeance mode & very hard but without moves & power-ups, let's just say i got destroyed. LOL

Incredible combos, crazy yet simple plot. (don't expect 5 hours of blahblah like previous Metal Gear titles)

This game is all about action. don't expect the stealth either. though you CAN one hit kill them if you sneak up on the & there is an achievement to finish stages without being spotted.

The bosses & sountrack are THE BEST!!! The fighting is all super stylish.

once you get used to the controllers, you will be a ninja master!

there are left hands to collect for Doktor. items to find for VR missions. different weapons. power-ups.

then if you feel you are up to it, get S rank on it.

you will have a ton of fun playing this.

ok, i'm off to start very hard mode & collect the items i was missing.

I love this game! Croc 2 is about a crocidile who lost his parents a long time ago. His friends are fuzzy little guys named Gobbos. They speak a gibberish language. Croc travels all over the different worlds to find his parents. All i can say?

Grapics are smooth and well done

it is hard to control croc at first, but then it smooths out.

Croc has bad camera angles

Very hard and challenging, but hey, i beat it!!!

Gobbos are really funny!

The worlds are elaborate, and the players need good thinking skills.

A lot of the people who wrote reviews hated it. They said it was too hard! Well, they must not be very good players, because there are harder games than Croc 2! You need patience, and skill. Well, i guess thats how the world works.

I hope you enjoy this game as much as i do!

I do love the CROC series. As though this game may seem pretty difficult to play and not have a very good game rating score. But to me i like challenges. This adventure is definitely a one in a time classic. Who cannot love their favorite toony crocodile character in this game. I like him. He's funny and cool. I am not saying this is the best game. I had tough times with it when i was just a child but now it's a piece of cake. I would consider people trying this game.
