If you have an Xbox and a TV with an S-Video connection, you are really doing yourself a disservice if you use the standard Xbox composite video connection. This cable will replace the standard cable and give you a much improved picture.

So what's the "but"?

If you also plan at some point to hook the Xbox up to your stereo via a Dolby Digital toslink cable for some 5.1 sound, you will need to replace this cable with either Sony's Advanced AV pack or a Monster Gamelink 300X cable. This entry level cable does not have the hookup for Dolby Digital and neither does the Xbox. You need a cable that has the toslink port: either the AV Pack or the Gamelink.

So, good cable, good price but not if you want Dolby Digital!

Overall this cable is decent for its intended purpose (S-VIDEO).

It is not on par in build quality as the OEM standard XBOX cable that came with the game. The cable that plugs into the back of the XBOX fits in too loose. It can accidentally be pulled out a little too easily than the original cables.

The cables actually had my XBOX graphics acting jittery on the television. I quickly switched to the original cables and everything was fine. (Maybe I had the S-Video and the RCA Video Cable plugged in at the same time)

For starters this is an economical way to go.

For 10.00 more I would stick with Microsoft's Advanced AV Pack allowing for future purchases using Dolby Digital components.

I rated this 2 stars because I am very demanding when it comes to fit finish and quality. The rear plug stability into the XBOX just turned me off:(

Just a couple days ago I was plugging my Xbox back into my TV. I noticed an S-Video input as well as Av inputs on the back. I purchased this cord and plugged everything and let me tell you it makes the picture a whole lot better. If you have S-Video inputs AND AV inputs on your TV, buy this right away! It smoothes things out, lets you see mush better, it's great!

While not nearly as good as the "Advanced AV output" pack, this cable is perfect for those of us with TVs lacking component video inputs. It also gives you a standard composite video output so you can completely replace the cable packaged with the XBOX, not having to worry about older televisions not being supported.

All in all.. If you don't have a $1,000+ television, but still want that little extra clarity on your games, buy this. Even if your television doesn't have SVIDEO in, buy it! The composite video out will continue to work as your bundled XBOX AV cable did, however, you will have the SVIDEO out incase you ever do buy a TV with SVIDEO inputs.

To me the one thing this video game generation has really missed out on is light gun games. I missed those things and really wanted to play some. But the only ones they really have on Xbox are the Cabela's games. I detest hunting but after watching some reviews of the games, they still looked pretty fun, so I finally broke down and bought it.

After I put the game in, the first thing I want to do is calibrate the gun so I can shoot straight. It turns out that this is entirely impossible. It has a target at the top left you're supposed to shoot to start calibration. But when I aim at the target, the game no longer recognizes my gun. It only recognizes the gun if I aim at the bottom middle and to the right. I try all kinds of stuff over the next hour. Moving the TV farther back, moving the sensor bar from the bottom of the TV to the top. Sitting on the couch, standing on the couch, sitting on the floor, standing behind the couch, pointing the TV left, pointing the TV right, taking pieces off the gun, putting pieces on the gun, changing batteries, changing games, curtains open, curtains closed, lights on, lights off, fully dressed, in my underwear, fully nude. Nothing works.

I turn to the internet. Lo and behold it turns out that these guns don't really seem to work for anybody. All of the documentation tells you that you need to have around 6 feet between you and the TV. What it does NOT tell you is that this ONLY applies to TVs under 32 inches. For anything bigger you need to be around 15 feet away from your TV. If you had trouble using Kinect, well good luck with this LIGHT GUN. Basically you need to put your TV at the end of a hallway to be able to use the thing and then you have to be a sniper to make any shots. Seeing how this is America 2012, I didn't even know they still sold 32 inch TVs.

The question is, how was this SOOOOOOO easy with Duck Hunt a 100 years ago, but with all this amazing technology of 2012, you have to have a empty warehouse for a living room in order to be able to do the same thing that was so simple then?

The other question is, how do these people get away with selling these guns when they absolutely are 100% unusable to most people?

The game itself is fun. I played it with a standard controller and it was pretty good but the whole time I felt like it would've been way better with the gun. It's not a game worth 60 bucks, but it's a few hours of fun.

going in with the cabelas name, and coming with a dedicated controller, I had high hopes for this game. The troubles started with setting up the gun controller. GOOD LUCK getting it calibrated. once I got it close to being "accurate" i tried the game. VERY simple and liniar. I admit it's fun using the gun to hunt and shoot, but using the controller for the action and climbing parts is awkward. If you make it through the game once, you will never pick it up again. even the party games arent fun.

Cabelas Survival with gun is quite fun. The game it self Shadows of Katmai is fun but I found it to be rather hard to play with the gun. The survival modes of the game are great. My sons and I spent hours chalenging each other to see who could get the best score. The gun performs well as long a you calibrate it properly.

I agree with previous reviews when it comes to the gun...calibration is difficult at best. I gave up after 3 tries and just shot at the ceiling so I could at least go through the motions of playing the game to get a feel for it. I will try again to calibrate "the gun" and if it remains impossible I will do as some have claimed to do before me and use a regular controller. Good luck.

This mouse rocks, The three fire button is great for any game, I play BF2 and BF 2142 and I use the button all the time.

This thing looks great and the cord is so small it feels like it is cordless! Changing DPI on the fly is great when you are scoped in and cant aim as fast or your in a TOW and you turn the DPI up and now the TOW swivels like some one sprayed WD40 on it in game! I have tested a lot of mouses and this is the best one yet!

I decided to give this mouse a go by a recommendation from a friend. I wanted something durable, high performance, and without all the flashy lights and such.

This mouse is exactly that. The performance is much better than I anticipated. It has a great rubberized feel to it. There are also rubbery ribs down the left side to increase your grip. Feels very comfortable. The tracking is fantastic. Very very smooth, and depending on your dpi setting it can be very fast. It really helps in FPS as it makes turning and aiming very smooth and accurate.

Worked out of the box with Windows 7. Didn't install the drivers as they where not needed. The side buttons have a nice rubber feel to them. They are very responsive and right where they need to be. The main buttons respond very fast as well.

The mouse looks great. Matt with gloss black highlights. The dpi button changes color depending on the dpi settings you use. Nice and subtle. Build quality is probably the best I've seen. I sort of wish the cord was a softer material, but it doesn't get in the way, and is very thin. Seems durable so it was probably the right choice. Highly recommended.

I LOVE THIS GAME.

It isn't perfect; the story is largely the typical throwaway reason to fight a bazillion demons and monsters...regardless of what other reviews say. However, the gameplay is stylish, unique and deeper than the first few hours suggest.

Chaos Legion was marketed by Capcom as a cousin of Devil May Cry. While the tone and subject of the game suggest similarity, however, the gameplay is a totally different beast. In fact, the comparison probably hurt the game, because reviewers went in expecting a DMC clone rather than being open to letting the game's unique strengths take hold.

Some reviewers have argued that the game is repetitive. This is true only A) at the beginning before the importance and depth of the legions is revealed and B) on easy difficulty. If this game is to be enjoyed, it if for those people looking for a challenge. In that way, it is similar to Devil May Cry. This isn't a game to run through in 8 hours...that might be less than enthralling. The real joy in this game is that of discovery and accomplishment. In fact, the game is so difficult that it has a system much like DMC3 where experience from ATTEMPTS at beating missions can be kept to level up legions.

Your character plays a bit like Dante with maybe slightly less moves. However, depending on the legion he has equipped, he can perform different moves and gain different abilities.

And then there are the legions. The legions are spirits that the main character summons to fight at his side; each one has very unique strengths and weaknesses. Combined with the abilities they add to the main character, which legions are equipped at the beginning of a mission makes a big difference.

The controls for the legions are surprisingly deep...they are by no means simply autonomous once summoned. It takes several hours to understand half of the strategy behind using them and most of the game to master it. Combine this with the ever present challenge of staying alive and you have a very compelling action game. Luckily, the game also features a relatively forgiving checkpoint system.

Of special note are the boss battles, which are very fun to figure out. When you bring down these bad boys, you know you've accomplished something.

In addition, the graphics and character animations are very well done...especially for the main character.

Finally, and importantly, a very impressive soundtrack accompanies the gameplay. Most of it is a mix of techno and chanting/choral work. All in all, it does a SURPRISINGLY good job of elevating the combat and making you and your legions feel like a force to be reckoned with. The soundtrack is so good in fact, that I OFTEN listen to it by itself...probably more than any other soundtrack I own.

I didn't expect much going in to Chaos Legion. The reviews had been mediocre and most people said it was repetitive. And these complaints underline an important point: Chaos Legion isn't for the casual gamer....it's for those in search of a challenge. That said, Chaos Legion is the source of some of my most memorable gaming moments in the past year, and I play a lot of games. For those with the appropriate skill, Chaos Legion is a must play and an absolute steal at most game stores.

I read lots of bad reviews of this game and was all set to forget about it rather than buy it. Then one day I read a Penny Arcade comic in which they declared that Gabe hated Chaos Legion. Well, if there's one thing I've learned from my years of reading PA, it's that if Gabe hates something, it's probably pretty good. He hated Kingdom Hearts, GunValkyrie, and most notably, Halo. The man is obviously not a bastion of good video game taste. Therefore, when he hates something, I assume it's worth buying. And so I went ahead and bought Chaos Legion.

At first I was inclined to agree with the reviews (and even with Gabe.) My first couple of hours playing seemed to indicate a shallow and repetitive game. What I'd seen in previews looked similar to Devil May Cry, so I was expecting an adventure game with some exploration and puzzle solving. There is none of that. CL is actually something of an old school arcade style beat-'em-up updated for the 21st century. You make your way through a linear level from point A to point B, fighting wave after wave of enemies as you go. When you reach the end of the level, you fight a boss. Lather, rinse, repeat. However, the game became pretty difficult suddenly on stage 3 or 4, and I almost threw in the towel. For some reason, rather than quit I instead decided to dig into the aspect of the game that I hadn't really been paying attention to; namely the "Legions" themselves. These legions are what make this game shine. A legion is a unit made up of several allies that accompany you wherever you go, basically little guys that follow you around and help you in various ways. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses and abilities. Some use swords, some fire energy bolts at the enemy you're targeting, some create a defensive shield around you, some explode and damage all enemies within a certain radius, etc. You have to use them to strengthen them, you have to strengthen them to make them more useful, and you WILL need to use them to beat the game. The more they do battle, the more experience points they earn. You then get to choose how to spend those points to build them up. You can increase their attack power, their defense, their special abilities, etc. Learning how to use them effectively is the key to the game. Ergo, the reason the game had seemed so difficult at first was that I'd made the mistake of playing it as if it was a DMC game, rather than figure out how to play a different game called Chaos Legion. Poor Gabe must not have been able to figure that out.

Man,than this will blow you away!!I can't believe how amazing this game is.First of all,let me stress how beautiful the graphics are.When I first started playing this game,my jaw dropped because the graphics looked as fluid and life-like as they do when then cinema plays.Also prepare to be amazed the first time you summon.Wow!Way to go Capcom!

Second,and most importantly,the gameplay!There is a good reason that the name of this game is Chaos LEGION;you fight armies and armies of demons.Think just like the Dynasty Warriors games,only take away the asian feel and add a very gothic touch!When I first started playing this game,I wasn't really paying much attention to the storyline or the directions that tutor you on how to do certain moves.I was just having SO much fun chopping up hordes of enemies!Later on I learned how to do diffrent moves and command my summon spirits to perform certain commands.Just Excellent! Experience gaining system is similar to DMC,but with much more improvement. Basically you still collect the souls of your enemies(only ALOT more at once)and for every 100th demon you kill you get an item.So you can really stock up on items and bulk up experience in this game as the enemies can be limitless(granted that you don't kill the monster generators first!)I guess Capcom borrowed an element from Gauntlet.

Third,is the sound.Voice Acting is great and even better than DMC.Also the lip synching is better matched to the words to make it look like they are actualy speaking the dialouge.But more importantly is the soundtrack.Beautifuly orchestrated music

with a passionate rhythm.Reminds me of the soundtrack for Castlevanaia:Symphony of The Night....only better.I was really impressed by the music that plays during boss fights.

Lastly,the storyline is as you would expect it to be:dark and masterfully written.I'm not going to go into detail;you'll just have to experience it yourself.To quoate a caption on the back of the game case,"If you loved Devil May Cry,then you'll love Chaos Legion!"They aren't kidding!This game delivers everything you could want and then some.Buy a copy now!

This has got to be one of the worse games for mixed reviews. Some love this game, some despise it. Now what's our thoughts on this gothic, hack and slash? Well, I can say for myself, that I love ever bit of this game. Before you hit me with something, let me explain why this game is so awesome.

The story is mysterious, enthralling, deep, and it keeps you wanting more. That is, after the first couple of levels it gets interesting. The first three levels you will find boring, but don't stop playing, because trust me, it will get better.

The story goes like this: You play as Seig Warheit, who must fight against a past friend of his. The reason being? It's unknown until you delve deeper in the game and unlock the peices of the story. But I will tell you this, it involves the killing of a beautiful woman named Siela.

The graphics are simply stunning. Screenshots cannot capture the beauty this game holds. The graphics are bright, gritty, vivid, and smooth all that the same time. The characters, legions, and enemies are all awesomely designed. The main character, Sieg, he is designed perfectly, his clothing and hair just screams "Bad Boy". The design and graphics team have certianly outdone themselves.

The sound was great, the clashing of swords on the armored hide of the enemies was music to my ears. The screams of the enemy creatures was great as well, whatever a 4 foot spider would sound like dying is probably what the spiders in Chaos Legion would sound like dying. The only gripe I have is when you first start a level, Seig, takes his sword and taps it on his shoulder... But it sounds like he is taking a wooden stick and slapping it on a towel...

The music was perfect, it totally fit the mood of the fights and the tear jerking movies. The only thing I disliked about the music is that in some parts it was low, like I couldn't hear it over me beating my enemies to ground beef. That's not neccessarily a bad thing though.

In Chaos Legion, you use allies to fight along side of you. These allies are called "Legions," the legions are powerful creatures. They each have there strongpoints and their weakpoints. So when you first equip a legion, try equiping one that will work best for the mission. This aspect mixes the generic hack and slash genre to a RPG-type action game, making it much more appealing and far less repetive.

After completeing a mission and defeating numerous enemies, you gain experience points. With these experience points you can upgrade your legions in many, many aspects. For instance you can upgrade their strength, defense, or you can upgrade them to where more legions can come out and help you.

The gameplay seems shallow at first, but once you get passed the first three levels, it becomes addictive. The thing that makes it unappealing to most is the steep difficulty level. But when you pass those three levels, you gain enough experience to upgrade your legions too make them stronger. Once upgraded, it makes the game much more enjoyable.

This game is the perfect game for an action addict, like myself. I totally enjoyed it to the last minute. I enjoyed it so much, that I cannot wait for the next installment to the series. I reccoment this to anyone who is looking for a challenge and a new adventure. If you are still skeptical about buying Chaos Legion, atleast rent it to see if you like it.

I have noticed that the other reviews so far don't say much about the game, so I am going to try to give a better idea of what this game is like. This game was made by one of the head guys behind Devil May Cry. That alone should pique most players interests. This game is the absolute best action, "hack and slash" game I have ever played. I have played through both of the Devil May Crys and the Onimushas, and I think this one is better than any of the other two combined. First of all, the action is great. Each level is challenging enough to give a gamer a couple of run throughs to beat it, but it isn't hard enough to be frustrating, and if it is for you, you can always cut it down to Easy difficulty level. Sieg and the Chaos Legion summoning system works well together. Before each level, you can equip two legions (whichever two you think will be needed in the level, whichever two you like best, or whichever two give your favorite power-ups to Sieg), and during the level you can summon the legions to fight alongside you, or send them in for a quick special attack. This allows two styles of fighting; a grand melee style, or a more conventional hero with special powers style. The grand melee can be maintained as long as the Legion's health meter is up. This meter is filled from the souls of your vanquished monster enemies. Each legion can give Sieg special powers too. For instance, the Flawed legion can give the special powers of jumping higher and double jump. These special abilities can be unlocked by leveling up the legion. Yes, that's right, during intermission screens (in-between levels) you can level up the legions that were equipped using the experience they gained from fighting through the level. Also, there are experience gems that can be used on any legion to give them experience. Later on in the game, there are items that allow you to level up your legions to the point that you may use their special abilities even when they aren't equipped; thus, this allows you to use the other legions while still keeping your favorite abilities. Finally, I must talk about the story. The storyline of this game is very good (the best I have seen in an action game), and it isn't exactly what it may seem. The cut sequences are the best I have seen in visual style. They look like a really well done movie. One of the best touches is that flashbacks are done in a "grainy film" way. It makes the cut sequences even more beautiful and the game even more enjoyable. I hope that some of you out there will buy this game and enjoy it as much as I have.

I was in the market for some good surround sound gamine headphones. I Compared the price of these and astro's and tritons and you really get the better deal with the DXL1's. the DSS2 sound processor is alone $70 which is pretty crazy but just for about $20 more you get the surround sound headphone too! The regular x11's, x12's are stereo headphones where the speakers are only Left and Right outputs. Including the DSS2 into the mix will increase the quality but will not come close to these headphones. If you buy the DSS2 by itself then you most likely already have purchased the x11's or the x12' for about $50, totaling aprox. $120! Dont be that person, get this and you wont be disappointed :)

Bought these from walmart because i wanted to try our several different headsets and return what i did not like.

The Good:

First off the sound on these is much better then I anticipated. Pinpointing the directions of footsteps without the need of an equalizer was much better then I expected.

The wires were nice and long. I had no problem with reaching my couch or chair.

The DSS2 Processor was a nice addition to a basic headset, however i did pair the DSS2 with my steelseries V2 and unlike advertised I didn't notice any difference in sound.

With the Turtle beach headset attached to the DSS2 I noticed a big difference in sound.

The Bad:

Although very light, these we the most uncomfortable headsets I have ever used. The pads on the ear cups were more rough then using an off-brand toilet paper.

Overview:

If it weren't for the extremely uncomfortable headset I would have given these another star or two. I would recommend the upgraded version of this headset the DX12 because you get the same sound processor but a much more comfortable headset, the X12

I was looking for a headset that worked well with pc and xbox 360, which is where I found this. It is very sturdy and very light on your head. The cups are large enough to go around your ears and the sound quality is amazing. COD BO2 sounds amazing.

Would recommend to anyone who wants a solid xbox 360 headset. It says the headset is compatable with windows vista, but it functions as headphones with any windows computer. The mic however will not work on anything except the xbox.

I like to use my stuff for about a week before I do my reviews just to get a feel for the product. If you've read any of my other reviews, you know how much headsets I've purchased and tested. The reason why I purchased this is I sold my Astro A40s along with my Xbox a little while ago to buy a gaming PC. Now that GTA V was coming out soon and all of my friends were getting it, I got really hyped and wanted my Xbox again. I got my Xbox a few weeks before the game came out. I played Gears of War 3 in the mean time while waiting for GTA V with just with my stereo output but I couldn't really hear a whole lot. It's really hard to try to play a game when you're so used to having a surround sound headset. I then decided to buy a headset but I didn't feel like spending a whole $250 on a nice headset (not only that, I don't have the money for it). So I did some research and looked into it and decided to go with the DXL1. I couldn't be any more happy.

For starters, the headset itself is very lightweight. Typically with my experience with Turtle Beach, they don't have a good reputation with comfort. With these, I have no discomfort at all. I can wear these for hours and not have any problems. I have glasses and I still have no problem wearing these.

The sound quality is amazing. With the DSS2 Dolby Surround Sound processor, these things are great. It's virtual 5.1 surround sound. They have nine different equalizers and six different surround sound angles so you can set up what sounds best for you and the games you play. Whenever I play Gears of War 3, or Search and Destroy in Modern Warfare 3 (and yes, I still play both), you can hear where the enemy is. Not only that but the fact that you can use basically any headset for the DSS2 processor is awesome. If you want to upgrade to a different headset later on, you can do that and hook it up to the processor but I really don't see the need to upgrade because of how nice the DXL1 is.

I love how long the wire is for the headset. When I just want to relax, I can lay down in my bed and play with the headset, or I can sit down on my chair and game too. And I do like the fact that it's wired and not wireless. I've dealt with wireless headsets before and having to replace batteries all the time is a pain the back.

The only problem I have at time which is really not a huge deal but I sometimes have to shut off the DSS2 and turn it back on when I turn my Xbox off and then later play it. The Dolby Surround Sound won't turn on at times when I start up my Xbox so I'll have to shut off/turn on my DSS2. Not a big deal, just something to be noted.

Overall, this headset is amazing. After having high-end headsets, I really think they don't really compare to this. I paid $70 for this here on Amazon. You really can't beat the price for this wired headset. If you're looking for a nice, comfortable headset with great sound; look no further.

Picked these up to try out some gaming headphones and keep things quiet while playing.

Overall the sound is actually quite good. The bass for explosions and gun fire, such as games like Halo 4 and BF3 sound great. The virtual surround sound works pretty decent as well for being simulated, and you can discern from left/right and behind. I havent tried using the AUX IN, where you can plug in an MP3 player or other source and have it play over the game audio but it sounds like it could be a useful feature as well. Not sure how the AUX IN and game audio would mix, hopefully it wont be a distorted mess. Just based on game audio however, these headphones do have good deep lows and clear highs.

Set up and EQ/speaker positions are easy to figure out, just read the manual. Also the chat is really clear. When on XBL and talking I apparently sound "crystal clear" when using this headset (as I'm told by my bro). For me they seem decently comfortable, although I havent sat and tried using them for longer than 1-2 hours.

The only potential negative is that the newly announced Xbox One has a different port on the bottom of the controller for the chat mic and other accessories. I hope TB releases an adapter so that this head set and other head sets and still be plugged in to the XB1 controllers and their proprietary port.

GG2:overture is somehow one of the most misunderstood game of all times, probably because of the burden of its predecessors.

The guilty gear saga is probably know for being one of the best 2d fighting game, and during the years have produced many titles with some new charachter here and there.

Now, at some point Daisuke Ishiwatari (the original creator of the game, and composer of all hard rock-metal music) decided to create something totally new, while the liege of 2d fighting would be carried on by another title, Blazblue.

And that's the problem. When fan discovered that the new GG wasn't a fighting game, simply hated it. And the fact that the game wasn't a typical, western RTS didn't helped the rest of the public.

But in short, what is Guilty Gear 2? A dynasty warrior clone? an RTS? a 3d fighting game?

GG2 is all and none of thse, it's a unique, competitive game that unite elements from fighting game, action game and strategy game into a new totally concept, defined as "melee action game"

The core of the game, usuless to say and stated many time by its creator, is the multyplayer. The campain mode serve as a training to prepare slowly for it, but it doesn't work too well, and it's generally boring, even if it bring forward the story of the previous chapters.

But, as I was saying, it's in multyplayer that the game shine.

The player control the army master in third person, while can easyly summon and move troops by calling the organ, a practic mini-map.

The objective of the game is to destroy the enemy base, the masterghost. Unfortunately, the masterghost is protected by a barrier, tha reflect the master attacks.

The servants (the master troops) can easyly destroy the barrier, but they have to reach it first. TO buy and unlock new servants you need mana, the game value. To obtain mana the player need to control ghosts, control points scattered around the map.

So, the basic lines of the game can be understood even from this brief view: you control servants to capture ghost, that gives the player mana to buy more servants, that will ultimately found a free way to the enemy masterghost and destroy its barrier. In all of this the player need to control the master, that can run all around the map in short time, destroy entire groups of servants in a moment and transport servants with him to release them in key point.

That creates a unique tactical experience: you have to control the servants, move to ghost, and always consider what the enemy master is doing and not leave your key ghost/servants unprotected, all of this while you search for the enemy seravnts, run across the map, release your servants and think about a new strategy.

Also, when a master encounter the enemy, the game work as a fighting game in all aspects: you have combo, defence and even all the advanced charateristic of the previous guilty gear game, like areal dash, psichic burst, roman cancel and so on.

There is many other charateristic of the game, but that's just a general overview

In general, GG2 is not an easy game. It has much to offer, but also ask for some work.

If you search for an easy game to enjoy alone, it's not probably the game for you.

But if you want a new, challenging experience that never cease to wonder, it's surely a must buy

I had first heard about this title when it was in Japan and said it's to much like street figther!!!...But after they adapted it to a hack and slash I said that's innovation. Two for the money baby. Love the Maps and Sol is still a great character to play with.

I have been a fan of GG for a long while and was exicted when I heard that the next game would be an action game, but sadly it falls short of my expectations. Don't get me wrong the game is not terrible it just gets repetitive. Most of the missons involve a kind of "capture the base" where you and your enemy battle for control over "ghosts" and then once you've captured all the ghosts you must destroy the enemys "masterghost" which is their base. One thing that disappointed me was the lack of characters, the only ones from the original game series are Sol Badguy and Ky (but Ky is nonplayable) while the rest are newcomers. Also in the game are these things you can summon on the battlefield called "servents" which fight along side you, it kinda reminded me of Chaos Legion for PS2. Overall its a decent game if you're a fan of Guilty Gear if not you might want to look elsewere.

I never thought from the You Tube footage that she would be so powerful! But straight out of the box she was pretty powerful and a lot of fun to play with among the newest figures available. Initially her earth element attack consists of shooting a crystal out of her curled up tail (like a scorpion). It makes her appear a little more aggressive while she's in battle(for the guys out there). She spins as part of her secondary attack (like Warnado) but seems to be much more powerful and controllable. I have found her to be surprisingly useful when battling the human shields. They can't be attacked from the front, but you can spin "dash" behind them and attack. As her third attack she shoots multiple lasers all around her from her wings(they can't be aimed). This doesn't help with enemies straight in front of her, but it does shoot all the way around her sides and from behind which is handy when she becomes surrounded. Over time she increases in damage levels from her crystals, and gets her armor increased by 40 after the third upgrade. She never truly flys, just spins quickly. Her final Soul Gem upgrade can be found in the "Bringing Order to Kaos" level. This creates a crystal lighthouse that keeps Flashwing from moving but creates a long range attack from a light emitted from it every few seconds and is her most powerful damaging attack.

This attack strengthens her long-range abilities with more rapid fire of her crystal shards. After her fourth upgrade on this path her crystal shards stick into surrounding walls and shoot an additional attack when you press her primary attack button (the X on PS3) a second time. Her last upgrade along this path actually helps her to heal from those wall embedded crystals as she passes closely. Each crystal gives her an increase of 5 HP.

SUPER SPINNER PATH:

This increases her ability to do more of a spin "dash" attack with increased damage and armor while spinning. Eventually with her "Reflection Deflection" upgrade her armor increases to over 100 while spinning! This upgrade also reflects her opponent's shots right back at them.

MY OPINION:

In the early stages of the game with all the currently available figures, I'd have to say that Flashwing and Hot Head are my top two new characters that I like! They are my 6 year old son's favorite too! I tend to prefer ones with powerful attacks, not melee attacks, by the way. I was honestly shocked by her beginning critical hit number (being her weakness) but I have really enjoyed playing her and can only guess that she must get powered up rather quickly from her starting numbers or the Pants Hat that looks like red and white spotted boxers made the difference.

The people behind Skylanders sure have come up with an interesting variety of dragons, and Flashwing is a great addition to the mix! An Earth Skylander, her body is composed of gems and crystals, and her attacks incorporate not only that, but the ability to reflect and use light. "Condensed light" even eventually increases her armor. I was worried, being a gem dragon that she'd be all girlied up, but I was luckily mistaken!

Speed: Slow

Flashwing moves at a steady but slow gallop. She's a handy Skylander though, so don't be put off by that. A well chosen hat will fix that problem.

Primary Attack:

As can be expected from a gem dragon, Flashwing's primary attack is firing crystal shards from her tail. It starts out slow, but is sped up considerably after being upgraded. Holding in the primary attack button for a few seconds (after being upgraded of course) allows her to fire a laser beam from her wing tips. If you choose the Super Shards upgrade path, the crystals can embed in walls and shoot off more Crystals, as well as heal Flashwing if she stands close to them.

Secondary Attack:

This one, the Shimmering Spin, I actually find myself using more than the primary. Flashwing gets up on the tips of her toes and spins quickly, crashing through everything in her path. This, like the crystals, needs to be upgraded to be the most effective, but it still very much gets the job done, especially when you get surrounded by enemies or use her in the Battle Arena. If you chose the Super Spinner upgrade path, the Shimmering Spin will gain the ability to last longer, deflect enemies shots, and shoot out lasers if attack one is pressed.

Tertiary Attack:

In Flashwing's basic upgrades, she can also fire crystal shards in all directions except, unfortunately, forward. While it is effective if surrounded by Chompies, I personally don't find it all that helpful in the harder levels. When you are surrounded by Mace Majors or something of the sort, it just doesn't deal enough damage or fire fast enough to take them out efficiently. I also tend to single out my enemies, so while this may be a good attack for somebody else, it doesn't do much good for me.

Soul Gem Ability:

This is definitely one of the best Soul Gem powers, counting the ones from the original game! Crystal Lighthouse causes a large crystal to spring up from the ground and create spinning beams of light that deal constant damage to enemies so long as the attack button is held in. This does unfortunately leave Flashwing vulnerable to the tougher enemies, but it can start hurting them from a distance so that by the time they get close enough to do any real damage, they're just about dead.

Overall:

To me, she definitely gets a 9/10. I was so eager to get her I overpaid a bit to have her shipped from a part of the country where she was in the first wave, but it was worth it! She's definitely a good addition to anyone's collection of Skylanders.

Now -thisis a game that can give Metal Gear Solid a run for its money. Both of Pandora Tomorrow's single or multiplayer modes are amazing by themselves, and taken together this game is one of the best -everin this generation, on any console. Stop reading and buy it!

SINGLE PLAYER:

The cutscenes are better than Rainbow Six 3, and the missions are SOOOO cool. Wait until you see Sam crawling under a train going 120 mph, or infiltrate a guerrilla camp in the jungle during broad daylight. There aren't any generic alleys like in the first game, ALL of the missions take place in exotic locations like Jerusalem or Indonesia. The plot has some cool twists that I won't give away, but they even managed to work the multiplayer mode into the plot. Graphics are such a huge improvement, the whole games looks like some high-budget James Bond movie. The production values are astronomical. Other observations:

-Controls are tigher, gadgets are easier to access when you need them.

-You actually have a use for Sam's cool acrobatic moves in this game.

-Plenty of ways to approach any situation. Nothing is linear, play the way you want.

-Lighting is more useful, you can visual tell what places will or won't hide you.

-A quick flash of the stealth meter tells you if a body is in a good hiding spot.

MULTIPLAYER:

One-of-a-Kind. Four players max. Spies vs. Mercenaries, each team has radically different strengths & weaknesses that play off each other very well. Mercs can use the inplace security systems and set their own traps, plus they are armed to the teeth, but they are blind compared to the spies; Spies hide in the ceilings and air ducts, places the mercs can't go, and have lots of diversion gear from the single player game, but they are physically weak. The emphasis is on stealth and outwitting your opponent, not action. There are lots of environmental details you can use to your advantage. Some other observations:

-Two-on-a-team makes for very close, intense teamwork. Best game to make friends with.

-Spies play in 3rd-person, Mercs in 1st person. It's not a gimmick, it's an inspiration, and it works perfectly.

-Huge maps give you that scary "somethings out there" feeling, a la "Predator"

-Lots of variety on each map because they are so large and complex.

-You need 1 game/Xbox/TV per player. No split screen.

Lets face it the first Splinter cell was a third person romp that proved to be the best stealth game in its genre. When i got the first game i played it non stop and before long it was over. For some reason i've never went back to it. It hasn't drawn me in again like it did the first time. When i heard about SC:PT i had mixed views expecting without doubt a MGS type sequel, (very dissapointing in other words), although the more i found out about it the more i was impressed. Firstly theres the new abilities such as moving side to side while doing the splits and jumping(higher) from the splits position. This was one of the coolest things about the first game but did'nt really have very much potential as the levels were not constructed with this in mind. However in PT the levels are a lot more diverse, meaning you may be able to use this to get to a higher vantage point over the enemy such as a ledge (about two stories high), giving you a more non-linear path. Another cool move is hanging from pipes. You can do this in the original splinter cell. But now you can let go with your hands and be hanging upside down meaning you can target enemies better. The new weapons include booby traps such as trip wires which you can employ to lose that annoying guard! Theres also motion sensors and a few new grenades. While the singleplayer will be great, there will also be multiplayer which will be an extra appeal for anyone not wanting to spend their hard earned cash. In MP you can control either the spies or the guards, there are three types of game mode For the spies it usually involves retrieving or destroying certain objects and obviously the guards job is to stop them. Basically the spies are the same Sam Fisher you play in the game, whereas the guards are all-new playable characters (in MP only)in the game and use a first person view. Spies can have (like Sam) night and thermal vision whereas the guards have electronic tracking vision (meaning they can track electronic devices used by spies) and motion tracking vision meaning they can track any movement in air turbulence you have to see it to believe it, The Movement tracking vision uses a red screen similar to the (bad) Thermal vision in MGS. Suddenly a small square can be seen on the screen focusing onto an object (ala Terminator). Inside the square theres the normal colour. The squares getting bigger and bigger and then the figure takes shape and you realise its a spy darting towards you at speed of light. Its all so smooth and extremly satisfying to watch.The Multiplayer aspect should be enough to keep Live players up until the early hours and warrant buying the Xbox version as the Ps2 version isn't due to July and will look like a Nes compared to the Xbox lighting and effects as well as draw distance anyhow, if you like the first game and crave somemore, or are looking for a stealth/action game keep your eyes peeled for this. This is the definitive stealth game for any system and no xbox owner can go without it.

Sam Fisher is back in the suspenseful sequel Pandora Tomorrow. Improved maneuverability and options are only slightly marred by the modification of the original game engine. Overall, I'm rating this one 3.75 stars. If you enjoyed the original, odds are you will love this game (as I do), but with some qualms. I played it on Normal difficulty, and beat it within about 12 hours (total) playing time.

As another reviewer previously noted, the departure of the Montreal team detracts from the originality and continuity of the original Splinter Cell. The story arc is fairly broad and impressive in its scope, yet does not connect together as well as the original. There are a few grammatical errors in the HUD display--which leads me to believe this game was somewhat rushed into the pressing stage. Also, the sense of immediacy is lost except for the final mission in LAX--which is one of the most intense levels of any game I have ever played.

New maneuvers include the Swat turn, which allows Sam to deftly and silently maneuver between doorways and windows without being detected. This is an amazing feature that helps you on more than one occassion. The jump/split is back with a slight modification for narrower spaces. All in all, the stealth system has been improved quite well. However, you lose the option of switching your rifle into single-shot mode when you're not sniping, this annoyed me.

Michael Ironside is back as Sam, and overall the voice talent is pretty darn good. Sound effects are excellent. A few places feel as if the actors were working with lackluster copy and making up for the writer's mistakes.

The shadow engine has been improved and the interactive environments are well rendered. The game looks just as beautiful as the original and the variety of environments are splendid.

With all this praise, what didn't I like about the game? That I beat it in less than 20 hours of play time on "Normal". Also, I did not like how "generic" the opponents of this game were. It would have been nice if they had integrated more of a natural cultural environment in with the different locales. Like a reviewer before me, I believe this lack of originality and inventiveness comes from leaving the Montreal team out of the project. Save points are fairly well constructed, with a few exceptions, where if you blow it...you will have to go back and re-do lots of menial tasks that take a lot of play time to accomplish. Also, the cinematics (while beautifully rendered) get to be a little buggy with the 'in between missions' screens. When I beat the game, the credits rolled, then the mission summary came up AFTER this. Maybe I'm missing something, but this was an example of how disjointed/jarring it can be.

As I do not have Xbox Live, I will not review the multiplayer aspect. I tried the training version, and it seemed OK...a bit like counter-strike/unreal tournament.

So, in summary, if you enjoyed the first Splinter Cell, you will probably like or love this one. However, it does play like a hybrid of Metal Gear and Splinter Cell--which isn't always a bad thing. I hope for the next version they bring back the Montreal team. Still, I recommend you try this one out. Enjoy, gamers!

If you even began to think that the original Splinter Cell was good you will cry with joy when you play Splinter Cell: Pandorra Tommorrow. There are multiple ways of completing each and every level. Instead of using shadows for cover it is more based on using camoflauge, much more believable. The camera work which I would have given an A+ to in the first Splinter Cell, is even more improved. The sillouettes which Playstation missed out on in the first Splinter Cell have been completely reborn, it is a beautiful thing. Civilians are almost everywhere and you can interact with them, because you are in more public places this is good. The first one which used a few gadgets, whew! The gadgets are much cooler My new dream job is to be a Splinter Cell, If you play this game you'll ask for an SC20K, a pistol, and some lock picks for Christmas, I can just picture you wearing those tights.

You WILL LOVE it, trust me!

The original Splinter Cell games ranks as one of my most favorite games for the XBox. However, in this one, UbiSoft moved the developer to Shanghai and thus removing the intellect and creativity of the Montreal team -and removing the inspiration from the original game. The alarm system now mirrors the alarm system in Metal Gear Solid almost to a tee. Next, the graphics remained the same with significant clipping still of dead bodies. Third, the game has generally become too dark or too bright. Additionally, the automatic "auto" of the SC-20 (when not in scope mode) has to the incredibly stupid addition in the game. I liked the original when you could change whether to have single shot or automatic fire for the gun. Lastly, the supporting characters (e.g., guards) are so bland. I thought Ubisoft was going to include actual native-speak like in SOCOM 2.

Now to the good stuff --

There were several inspirational things in the game. First, Sam will encounter an area which he must hide in the light which is a change. Next, the train portion has to be the most enjoyable section of the entire game (although short-lived). Third, the overarching storyline involving biological weapons being deployed in the United States is particularly disturbing. Additionally, when Sam enters LAX Airport and the discussion between Lambert and Sam about LAX has to be the most freakish level in the entire game. Lastly, the inclusion of the SWAT turn has to be the best change for Sam Fisher in the game. It is invaluable.

Overall, this game should be considered as partial sequel. However, it was a disappointment overall compared to the original. Please bring the back the original Montreal team for the next one. PLEASE.

I always look at Amazon.com to compare prices and found this one for almost half the price. It is not wirelss, but that is what my son wanted, as the ones that run on batteries, run out of "juice" to fast.

Mortal Kombat - Xbox 360 Review

In late 1992 I walked into an Arcade at the age of 10 years old. At the time Arcade gaming was enjoying quite a bit of success at family fun parks, and this Birthday trip was about to introduce me to one of the greatest series to every hit the arcades and consoles.

To this day I still want to hit Block, Up, Up to finish characters off when I play as my man Scorpion...however, the urge to play any kind of Mortal Kombat has long since left. After MKII and MK3 things got pretty rocky in the "quality/fun" department of the Mortal Kombat series. I played many of the games, but the last 3 offerings I haven't bothered more than a few minutes playing.

THIS GAME however has changed ALL of that!!

This my friends is THE Mortal Kombat game that fans have been wanting and missing all these years. This is an absolute, all out feature fest of fighting modes and options. The challenge mode alone has over 300 options to play through and the customized modes have literally an endless supply of options to tweak the game as you see fit.

All the classic characters and favorites included in the game are well represented. All of the costumes are here too...from the 90's style uniforms to unlock-able classics and sweet special outfits. No one will regret this purchase. If you want THE BEST fighting game of recent memory (and yes I play them all) along with the most diverse set of options and FUN modes, then this is your ticket.

The extreme and even "offensive" (haha) violence, awesome sound, and immense fun is finally back with a wonderful new fighting engine and all the things that made a 10 year old boy spend hundreds of quarters at the arcade all those years ago. Mortal Kombat has FINALLY returned!!!

Note: Ignore the one star review. If it doesn't get deleted by Amazon in the first place, the guy has no clue what he's talking about...which is obvious. The Xbox 360 version actually has slightly sharper textures, and a Cleaner and Darker look to it..not to mention better lighting/shadow casting. This is from a side by side comparison..and a GPU based difference in the two games. You can visit lensoftruth.com to see the difference if you want. I'm not bashing the PS3 version though, it is basically equal to the 360 version and vice versa. You are buying one beauty of a game on EITHER console.

No Second Fiddle Here

I am writing this review to hopefully put some minds at ease. I wrote the first review on Mortal Kombat for PS3 after I played the game into the wee hours of the morning. I gave it high praise on that system (feel free to read it if you want to hear my actual opinion of the game, It absolutely applies to you 360 owners, too). I even mentioned Kratos being a cool edition to the game and all the things I appreciated about the game. However, I noticed there are some reviews on here blasting the game on the 360 console for some reason. I have no idea why people are loyal to a console to the point where they must disparage another product. I guess being anonymous makes it okay for some to be dishonorable and deceiving about the product, but I digress from what I came here to tell you.

The game on 360 is excellent. I find it to be just as fun, and the online experience (the reason I got a 360 copy) is rich and enjoyable right from the get-go. I actually prefer using the 360 controller for competitive matches, a mere preference of mine.

About Kratos

I know a lot of 360 owners are bummed about not getting an exclusive character. In fact this is the only legitimate area where the PS3 has an advantage in my opinion. I can tell you that while Kratos is cool, he is only available to use in the versus mode and does not affect the main store aspects. He does fit in nicely with the Mortal Kombat universe and has spiffy special moves and fatalities. So maybe check them out on You-Tube for a grin and go back to the rich and fully-satisfying Xbox version. After all, you are not missing much, certainly not enough for me to deduct a star. You do get to use your custom avatar in the online King of the Hill Mode, which is rather cool, too.

Having just picked this up I've had a couple of hours to test drive it before heading off to work. I'll be sure to update this review over the next few days when I have a more definite opinion but wanted to give the Amazon crowd my initial thoughts.

So far, I'm in love with the game. Playing locally against a friend is a blast and takes me back. Call me sentimental, but this game takes me back to my childhood playing against my brother when mom and dad weren't around (we had to convince them it wasn't to violent). As soon as you finish your first fight you'll have a smile on your face and be looking for another.

The violence and sound really are what sell this game from the get go. It takes the game back to its roots and some of the fatalities are simply amazing. With plenty of unlocks and various single player content, one will have a lot to do in this new version.

The graphics look fine on my HD TV, while they are not the greatest they are far from bad. As a previous reviewer stated, both consoles are about even and graphics are actually pretty impressive (comparing it to other fighting games).

With that said, I still need to explore the single player more for the review to be truly fair. But lets be honest, this game is designed to be played locally with friends and at that it succeeds. This will definitely be a go to game any time your looking to get a few friends together and have a good time.

Alright let's be frank. This game is for all the people who loved the first 3 MK's. After that Mortal Kombat 3, the games stared to go downhill. You want everything back to old school with some new material. Then this mortal kombat is for you. Those who thought the games after Mortal Kombat 4 were better then the first three. Don't bother buying or reviewing this game. Your comments will already be checked at the door. Talk about a 5/5.

First, I'd like to say that anyone who went out of their way to complain about this game's "updating" issues and gave this game a 1 is utterly ridiculous. Welcome to day 1 of any new gamethere are bound to be issues.

Second, This game is AT LEAST a 4/5. I wont even go into any details over how many 5/5's and 95%+ reviews I've seen for this game. This game is greatenough said. Its been a long time since we've seen Mortal Kombat and its quite welcome on our generations consoles. It really deserves a 4.5 from me but Amazon only has a 4 or 5 and I can't give it a 5/5.

I gave this game a 4/5 for a few reasons but one of the main ones was that were I to use a code included in my game case, I would effectively be screwing over the next person who gets my game (if I were to ever trade it in). Similar to EA's online pass, you need to pay a fee to play online. They do include a 2-day pass but to me these kinds of tactics are unwarranted and ridiculous. I bought some of my favorite games used so to me it thwarts those cheap gamers that will hold out for used copies of this game only to find out it will cost them virtually the same if it were new. May not seem like a big issue but its not a good road to start heading down.

Alsoits been said many times that some of the boss fights are just crazy...I've had to re-do a few fights over and over again but I'm not the kinda gamer who gives up so it didn't make me annoyed, it was simply ridiculous as I was absolutely obliterated during some battles. That being said...The game itself isn't truly that hard. You will win a lot of your fights. I cannot say the same for the other modes though like the challenge tower since its so meticulous and difficult. I haven't beat the single player completely yet but I'm already going to say that it could have probably been a bit longer as the events are beginning to conclude in my game. I will certainly play through again when I do beat it shortly.

Gameplay: (5/5) You know what to expect. I fight. I win or lose. Fatalities. Blood. Gore. Its all there. The X-ray moves you pull off are absolutely stunning and convenient if you aren't winning in a fight and want to turn the tables. Every character has a series of moves to do followed by enhanced moves and special moves as well as fatalities. The tag team is by far the coolest thing I've seen in a fighting game as sometimes you can pull out a fighter, throw in a new one and attack the other player before they have a chance to even notice. The physics aren't exactly real but it all feels right. The characters don't play clunky or slow. The pacing of the fights is well done as well.

Fun: (5/5) There are different modes to try, online mode, tag-team, practice rounds, etc...Plenty to do. I've spent most of my time in the single player and it is by far the best single player of any fighting gameguaranteed. There's an actual story along with most of the notable characters in the series. I won't spoil anything for anyone but there are some 'Human' forms of characters and backgrounds which will surprise you. This is a true game for the fans. They even have the guy that appears on the side of your screen that says "Whoopsies!" when you have a series of combos. This game does not lack fun.

Replayability: (5/5) Inviting people over to compete? Going online? Or going solo? Doesn't matteryou can play matches until the end of time. There are plenty of characters and moves to learn (a ridiculous amount). It will take time to master this game. I wasn't getting the "Oh this is quite repetitive" feeling playing this game at all. You don't rank up but you do gain Money/points to spend on alternative costumes, moves/fatalities, concept art, etc. that is all unlockable with the right amount of points.

Graphics: (4/5) A little polish sometimes wouldn't have killed anyone but the characters still look great. Its awesome seeing these characters in 3d like this with such detail.

Value: (5/5) This is me personally but I know that if I'm tired of a shooter or Gears, Mortal Kombat is the first game I'm putting in. This game is beyond worth it to me. It will only get cheaper as well. I also snatched this up with a pre-order DLC (Reptile's outfit and fatality) and a $10 credit so that has value written all over it.

If you enjoy fighting games, this is for you. If you really aren't into fighting games but love MKyeah this game is for you too probably. If you just think the characters look cool and you are disappointed that this game hasn't changed its formula too much from the originaldon't bother. What you see is what you get. That being said, I really enjoyed this game and it was the first official fighting game I've bought. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Oh yeah it is. At the end of the day its simple...If you loved everything about MK, you'll be getting a pleasant surprise with this game. It is by no means a let-down. Its not a cut and dry game either...there's actual substance here to sink your teeth into for quite some time. Once againif you HATE fighting games, just don't buy it because that's what this is. This game doesn't stray too far at all from its original games and formula.

And Finally...Yes...Reptile looks like 'Rango' but I believe everyone has the opportunity to get his original outfit unlocked at some point through the Krypt game mode. This is certainly the BEST MK game to hit store shelves to date. Do the kid-in-you a favor and buy this game.

The nice thing about how this works through Amazon is that you can choose what Series you want to keep and activate it via Steam. If there's some that you already own on Steam(or Amazon) or you don't especially want a Series you can give the key code(s) to a friend. Once you enter it on Steam it is tied to your account though, so if you want to give it as a gift, just copy the key code from the screen and send it in an e-mail to whoever you want to gift it to. You don't have to rush to activate them, the keys are stored in you Account-->Games & Software Library and won't expire. This is a great collection to anyone who feels a litlle nostalgia for old 16 bit games.

You get 50 games in this single pack. While not all of the Sega Genesis important games are here (missing Sonic, Chakan and a few others), the collection is quite impressive.

The game requires a Steam account. If you dont know anything about Steam, visit (in a nutshell is one of the best digital game distribution systems and a great gaming community tool)

On this package you receive 5 installation codes that you input into Steam and that activates the games.

You first deal with a launcher where you select the game you want to play. This launcher allows you to save your position in any game at any time, so for some of the RPGs this is great. It also allows you to configure your game pad. I am curretnly using an Xbox 360 game pad and it works great with this launcher. You can also select resolution and aspect ratio you want out of the games.

The games scale nicely in the higher resolution screens of today. I just recently played Shadow Dancer and Streets of Rage 2 in my 1080p monitor and it looked great in fullscreen (I decided to maintain the 4:3 aspect radio of old TVs instead of going with the widescreen option).

While some of the games are not as good as others, just the value of the Shinobi games, the Phantasy Star games and the Streets of Rage games makes this worthwhile.

Yes, dont expect remakes of the games, this are exactly like the ROMS you can get at some sites on the web that are run with emulators. I just think that the launcher, the integration to Steam and the ability to configure a game pad makes this a great prize.

I expected to see individually games, without emulation, or at least a better front-end for the emulator, the games run normally but doesn't have modern video filters like hqsai, 2xSai... and game controllers (joypads) doesn't work with the front-end, they work only inside the games.

The only reason I got this is because this was on sale for VERY cheap, I love the Genesis back in the day, and I expected Sonic games! The only Sonic game that's in it is 3D Blast, and that's an OK game, I just expected Sonic 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles. There are other good games, like Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Vectorman. Still good to get when it's cheap!

This pack, when on sale, typically goes for around $7.50 assuming you have a retro vibe going, which is why you're looking at reviews for Genesis games, this is a steal at that price and includes Mega Drive Game Packs 1-5 in Steam-redeemable keys. The only downside? You have to redeem the keys on steam. HOWEVER, you can run the emulator (program that makes the games work on modern computers) outside of steam.

For a retro gamer such as myself, this was easily worth the $7.50 just for pack 5, which includes Phantasy Star 2-4.

This is a fun game, a bit goofy, but that's Douglass Addams. It seems so goofy at times that it doesn't seem like your in space at all, but on a clown barge. Who cares. The characters are quirky and have personality, not "personality" and what I like most is that I can say anything I want to them, for example; flirt to the reseptionist(who looks like a toaster)or threaten her, or tell the broom to go clean the toilet. Or just ask stupid questions to the other beings on the ship. It is a funny and smart game. The bomb is especially funny. You must watch Monty Python to know the answer though.

After an exhaustive search for this title I suppose it was silly of me not to look at Amazon.com first thing. When it arrived I was on Cloud Nine. See, I'm a huge Douglas Adams fan and have acquired as many of his works as possible. And I heard that this was supposed to be a game unlike any other so I knew I had to have it. And they were right. Unlike any other.

The story is that a huge and luxurious space-liner has crash-landed in your house and it is up to you to fix it. See, the ship has lost its mind and bits of it are scattered all around the ship. it's up to you to find all the bits of Titania, the ships personality, it's spirit if you will, to get yourself home to Earth.

You do this by navigating through the rooms and interacting with robots and things around you. Your first challenge is to upgrade from third to second class, and to do this you must talk to the Deskbot. Type in a simple sentence like "Can I have a free upgrade?" and just like magic, she will say "No."

The graphics are beautiful, done by Academy Award winners. The challenges are difficult, but not too difficult that you couldn't solve them by yourself if you had thirty or forty years to spend on this game and this game alone. Douglas Adams himself appears as the voice of the Suc-U-Bus (a system that transports things throughout the ship) and his face appears as that of Leovinus, the man who designed the ship. The cast also includes a brief, uncredited cameo by John Cleese as an annoying bomb and perhaps the most memorable performance of fellow Python alum Terry Jones' entire career: As a parrot.

Hearing Jones squawk, "Ooh, look who it is! The bringer of chickens, I DON'T think!" is worth the price of the game alone.

I've heard it said elsewhere that "those with a logical mind will hate this game, since it's based on the skewed logic and warped humour of Douglas Adams".

I have a logical mind, but also enjoy Adams' humour. The difficulty comes with meeting the two of them together in a computer game, where you have to think like he does to solve some of the problems. If you ever wanted to know what it might feel like to be a character in an Adams novel, here's your chance. The surrealistic nature of some of the puzzles in this game made them extremely difficult, and I did resort to a walkthrough frequently.

It didn't help that I think there are several story-related glitches in the game. There are a couple of places where you can find yourself stuck that is, if you do a certain thing before taking adequate notes, or solve puzzle A before puzzle B, you can find yourself unable to solve a subsequent puzzle. This was extremely annoying because sometimes I would know what I needed to do but be unable to do it. In a couple of places this required me to restart the game from a very early save. There were also several puzzles where there were several obvious possible ways of obtaining an item but the game required you to find only one, much more obscure way always an annoyance of mine in adventure games.

The system whereby you type what you want to say to the various 'bots on the ship harks back to the old text-based adventures, rather than the more usual dialogue trees that we see nowadays in adventure game. It will also remind you of how annoying these can be you can be saying the right thing but in the wrong way and the game will not respond. Also, to obtain several key items you have to call in one of the 'bots to get it for you, even though the 'bot isn't normally seen in that area.

The game is non-linear. Without spoiling too much, the aim is to collect a number of items scattered throughout the ship in order to regain control of its central intelligence unit and be able to pilot yourself home. Most of these can be collected in any order so if one puzzle is causing you grief you can work on another. Note that some locations around the ship have multiple uses and play a role in more than one puzzle.

The graphics look pretty good slightly dated now but still quite lush. The voice acting is good (including Adams himself, and Monty Pythons Terry Jones & John Cleese) and although some speeches go on for a long time you can usually skip listening to the whole speech, and the full text appears in a dialogue window.

The version of the game I played came on 3 CDs in a jewel case, although the game installs fully onto your hard drive. There was no manual, although I understand the initial packaging came with a manual that described some of the controls and the original box had a diagram on it that helps solve one of the puzzles (although the same image can be found hidden in the game).

I found it fun to walk around another Adams-designed starship, but at the same time frustrating to have to apply Adams-style absurdist logic to solve a lot of the puzzles.

There is a less drastic way of getting the videos to work under service pack 2.

Simply get a copy of iccvid.dll from XP Service Pack 1 (Often on the original windows disk, it just needs uncompressing) and drop it into the games root directory (The same directory as ST.exe is in).

This means you do not have to mess around with windows system DLLs. The game checks the current directory when it loads up before it checks the system32 directory for the file, hence it loads the SP1 version for the game, and all your other programs use the safer SP2 version.

This game, evidently, is designed for an older operating system (Win 95/98). Though the package claims it will work on Win2k for instance, it doesn't. The website for the game is defunct. The patches can't be downloaded. It's sad. Douglas Adams is such a beloved author, why don't they care about this game?

I've played this game on both the XBOX 360 and the PC, and here's what I can tell you. It's a great game on both systems. On PC, it looks better and runs more smoothly, but not by a large margin. PC gamers usually expect more optimization for their platform, and that's understandable. This game looks pretty on PC, but is not a game to showcase your video card, by any means. That aside, it runs at a rock sold frame rate, and I've yet to encounter any glitches whatsoever. I know a lot of other reviewers have had issues, but maybe Ubisoft has patched the game since? The DRM would be annoying, if I were to lose my internet connectivity, but since that happens rarely, if ever, I'm only knocking the game down to 4 stars. After all, I'm here to review the game, not the business practices of Ubisoft. The download from Amazon went smoothly, as did the install. I've really had zero problems with this game, and couldn't be happier with the purchase.

If you like games that require thought then this is a good one. You can leap and climb all over the games richly detailed environment, which reminds me of Tomb Raider. There are many secrets to be found and upgrades for your assassin...from weapons to dying your clothing. You can even pour money into the villa you stay at for renovations. Many of the challenges have to deal with navigating the games environment and coming up with ways to eliminate a target. The VO seems to be pretty well done so far and the story is also pretty good. Combat is not overly difficult and relies mostly on timing counter attacks. You might have some difficulty figuring out the controls at first, but have patience and take your time learning it.

Best Deals for Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Edition

First, I love the Assassins Creed series. When AC2 came out though, I could not play it because of the DRM (I only have dial-up). However, years later Ubisoft/UPlay no longer requires a constant internet connection, just the initial sign in the first time (yay!).

On to the game, I loved it. It is much longer (or seemed so to me) than the first, still had an engaging story and threw in some new twists to the series as a whole. Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil anything. My main complaint was that some of the small tutorials or hints would come after I needed them and had to look up how to progress. Also, the controls seemed looser/less predictable so my Assassin would jump off a building or ledge that I did not intend. As a whole the game seemed more difficult which I appreciated (though frustratingly the controls often added to this). The graphics were decent, though by now are a little dated.

I would definitely recommend this game. Especially now that you can pick it up for very little $$.

While I can understand why Ubisoft thinks they have to do the "always on" authentication, the people who are going to pirate it will find a way. They always do. This is a great game and I have it on the Xbox360. I would've bought two copies (XBox and PC), but with the DRM it would too big of a hassle to play this way. So, I won't be buying this PC version.

Secondly, I also am a MAC owner and wish UBISOFT would put their games out on the Mac. But since it'd be "always on", I suppose it's moot.

I am not a software thief and I wish UBI wouldn't treat me like one.'

About the game -A+! UBI deserves all the praise they get on the game -I am playing AC1 right now (played them in backward order) and both are the crown jewels of video games!

It all started with a team of top-notch developers who have built a great game.

Then a manager at UbiSoft said "but we need something like Steam on top, and it must look cool, and it must be social, and it must be in the could, and it must be viral, and it must have a dancing baby, ...".

So instead of just starting your game, you have to start Uplay which is totally useless except that in lets you start your game (two screens later) and it re-appears to tell you when you have left the game.

Luckily, they did not have time to finish the dancing baby.
