I've had the controller since Oct.20.2012 and They're still working.

-Pros-

For FPS players the combat button is really useful for call of duty so you don't have to mash the left stick so much to run.

I like the LED lights, they still work.

The AXBY, Menu button, select and start buttons are nice and flat and don't feel squishy and annoying to press.

My controller is still in good shape, no control stick getting stuck slightly at all.

-Neutral-

LB & RB may feel weird at first, but you'll get used to it, they're good, clicky.

The controller has a nice feel, but it will wear down, but all controllers do that.

Just pointing it out there, I dropped my controller a few times by accident because I kept pulling the cord at times because I use it for PC games too and I keep it close and the controller still works perfectly fine for me.

-Cons-

If the DPAD was thinner, it would've been better.

Not much else I can really say bad about the controller.

The Controller still works and it's been about 7 months already, It's a great controller, despite Madcatz's reputation, I think this is one of their nice works.

One of the side grips wobbles a bit, but the controller functions as advertised, is comfortable in my hands and build quality seems solid. Works fine with steam games on pc with Windows 7 once xbox 360 controller drivers are installed.

Being an avid gamer, mostly FPS games (HALO & Skyrim), I have only used wireless controllers. The times I spend playing would most always require me to charge the wireless controller during gaming. Which essential made them wired controllers and the same would go for the headsets. So, why not get a wired controller and not have dead battery packs or dead batteries laying around.

I went with the F.P.S. Pro after reviewing the product on Youtube compared to the Razr Onza controller done by arCtiCvBi. I have to say the programmable thumbstick colors was a turning point for my purchasing of the controller. I also like how easily you can change the combat buttons; left thumbstick color, left bumper, A or B button on the left side (combat 1) and right thumbstick color, right bumper, X or Y button on the right side (combat 2). Naturally you have to select the colors you want every time you turn on the XBOX controller.

Not having to worry about the controller dying is quite a weight lifted as well. Overall...I enjoy the feel, look and durability of the F.P.S. Pro wired controller.

Unfortunately, this game isn't as much fun as I was hoping. The songs are more "pop" than "rock" (that's intentional), but that also means that there just aren't a whole lot of great guitar riffs. In fact, you end up playing keyboard (i.e. "American Pie"), horns and other instruments on your guitar, which just seems out of place and unnatural.

There are a lot of fun songs to sing, and the drum patterns are enjoyable. It's nice to see different types of songs that what we're all used to, but the gameplay just doesn't pair up as well as the music in RB & GH does (maybe we need a keyboard hero?).

I was so pleased to see Paralyzer by Finger 11 (which would have been an appropriate song for the GH series as well) and the Taylor Swift songs are actually some of the best songs on the disk. You also get to import from your other Hero games, including GH5. In what is a nice touch, if you paid to import World Tour and Smash Hits songs into GH5, you won't have to pay to import them into Band Hero. After adding all the imports and downloads, the roster added up to 233 songs, which is nice when you're playing in a party setting.

As an interesting side note, Band Hero is touted as family friendly, so much so that they drop the lyric "whisky" from American Pie, but they include "Dirty Little Secret" whose entire meaning is less than family friendly (good song though).

All in all, it's good, not great, but mostly because the music style doesn't match what you're used to playing in a Guitar Hero/Rock Band game. So, you take the good with the bad: expanded music genre v. playing piano on your guitar.

The song selection is all a matter of personal preference; You either like the songs or you don't. I'm basing my review on the actual gameplay, which is awesome.

It's the same format as guitar hero 5, so if you like that setup, you will like this one. There's a career mode, and each song has an individual challenge with 3 levels of achievement (gold, platinum and diamond).

If you are a fan of rhythm games, which I am, and if you liked guitar hero 5, which I did, then you will probably like this game. The people who give the game low ratings because they don't like the songs, should have checked out the song list before they bought it.

This game was a nice alternative to Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band. It offers a wider variety than just rock, metal, and emo songs. I'm still waiting for more DLC pop songs that are more popular or recent than the included setlist, as some of the songs are outdated.

The pros to this game are the multiple mics capability. Some times people feel more comfortable singing with others which makes for a better party than, forcing someone to use the mic as the only instrument left. You do receive individual scores with the mics. There's also a party mode where people can jump in and out whenever they want to with the instruments. The only down side is that you can't choose the songs in party mode. Another nice option was the playlist option. Instead of having to pick songs for a playist by default like GHWT, you can turn that option on or off for Band Hero. So people don't get confused with either pressing the green button or the start button. (On Xbox360)

The cons to this game is that it follows the user interface like GHWT. Only the band leader can control the stats screen and choose songs. This gets annoying when your an impatient person and the band leader isn't paying attention to the game. Also, you can't choose your difficulty level right before each song. Instead you have to either back out to the players menu and change it there, or the individual instrument has to press start and change difficulty and restart the song. Either way it's more time wasted than Rock Band's simple difficulty menu before each song. Another annoyance for people with slightly imperfect eye-hand coordination is that Band Hero has less tolerance for error in hitting the notes. You pretty much have to hit them dead on or it will count as a miss. When I was playing I hit all the notes fine, but when my sister was playing she thought there was something wrong with all three of my guitars. Then we realized it was the game.

Overall, this game is fun to play if you're into the pop songs included. I'm sure there will be guys out there who aren't willing to sing Taylor Swift, Jesse McCartney and Hillary Duff, but it's definitely fun to watch if you can get them to do it. Good times....

If you are like me, you are shopping for pads because you are afraid that eventually you won't be able to buy them anymore. I have ALWAYS wanted metal pads, and it took me 8 years to solidly convince myself to take the plunge, and months of shopping around to find the ones right for me. These pads are as close to perfect as you are going to get in this price range.

They feel solid. They are well built, and feel like they will last a good while. The USB units are plug and play (Windows 7 64 bit here), and they are read in as 2 axis 16 button (?!) controllers. There are only 6 buttons on it total, counting the "axis' but at least windows names them. Once windows knew what they were, stepmania was able to incorperate them right away in the config keys screen.

There is only one con to these, and really I don't feel so bad about it. The arrows. You can't just tap them like you would regular DDR (ITG/Pump/Whatever) arrows. They sit recessed in the pad, but they are about a half inch up from the actual sensor themselves, so when you set on one you have to make sure to add enough pressure to touch the arrow to sensor. At first this is difficult, because once you reach the 9 foot difficulty and up songs you tend to learn to glide over arrows to conserve energy. For me this has meant relearning a very basic part of game play, and after a day solid of playing on these I barely notice it anymore. My first song on the pads each day will be a 'D' followed by 'A's and 'AA's. It really doesn't detract at all, and now I feel it might actually be a good thing seeing as after working in an arcade I know how often those sensitive to tapping DDR sensors need to be replaced. These will probably last a good while longer.

One final note, when I got these home, their boxes that connected the pads to my computer would show up as malfunctioning in windows. I could only play on one of them, and was scared I received a broken one. After some snooping around, I discovered a possible solution. All I needed was a powered USB hub (CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub) to get my pads up and running flawlessly. Apparently my choice of using a 620w Antec psu to power my i5 560ti rig meant there wasn't enough power left being sent to the usb to power these pads. If you are considering buying these, OR already have them and are facing this problem try out this solution before you try to mail back 50 pounds of metal and awesome.

My friends and I are all decent DDR players (MyselfDouble Pad: 6-7 Steps; My friendSingle Pad: 9-10 Steps). The arrows are highly responsive and it feels like the arcade with the recessed buttons. You can play with shoes or socks. The bar is nice and sturdy if you follow that instructions; make sure to fasten it in tight. There is no lag from consoles and if you set it up on PC get Stepmania 4 (not 3.9), a free DDR emulator, for the best results.

NOTE: For PC, a newer computer will help reduce lag, as well as unplugging any USB devices that are not in use.

NOTE: If you set it up to a large TV with a stereo system, there may be audio lag. Newer DDR games and Stepmania both have tools to adjust this.

I'm very satisfied with my purchase, as all the DDR machines in the area are either broken or crappy.

I have had these pads for a couple months now and the up arrow no longer functions.

The DDR Game only offers a 30 day warranty so I am S.O.L. If I would of known these pads would die after only a few months I would have never purchased them.

I do not recommend these pads to anyone and I recommend you look elsewhere for DDR Pads.

The Good:

+A very good story filled with engrossing characters

The Bad:

-The story can get bogged down in exposition

-The 3D conversion isn't very good

-There is nothing here that will convince those who invested in the Playstation 2 version to invest in this one; there are no 3DS exclusive extras here

In 2006 Tales of the Abyss was released on the Playstation 2. It's release was, unfortunately, overshadowed by Square-Enix's Final Fantasy XII. It's a shame because several gamers missed out on a considerable gem. And strangely enough, six years later the game is still just as good as it was then. It's aged well, and now those who missed out before may have a second chance to experience it.

Tales of the Abyss takes place in the fantasy world of Auldrant. A world ruled by "The Score." An enormous stone that more or less tells the fate. A fate that can't be changed. And the one who is likely to change this is Luke Von Fabre. He's a rich young man living in a manor. He was kidnapped seven years prior and when he was rescued couldn't remember anything. As a result he has been kept in the manor and sheltered during this time. When training with his mentor Van, a mysterious woman named Tear breaks into the manor and in an failed attempt to assassinate Van, is suddenly transported away with Luke. For the first time Luke is in the outside world. But why was Tear trying to assassinate Van? And what does Luke have to do with the score? It all comes together.

There are a couple of things about Tales of the Abyss's story that work on a lot of levels. The first and most stand out are the characters. It's got a fantastic ensemble cast. These are charming characters who will develop and change throughout the story. They each come with their own histories as well as their own personalities. Luke becomes more than just the "spoiled brat," for instance. And his entourage are there to fill more than just the steretypical role you first come to meet them in. The story is helped even further because it's got a lot of well orchestrated dialog. It's funny at times and heartbreaking at others. There can sometimes be too much focus on character, though. In between story segments you can view skits that let you know more about the characters and they'll sometimes discuss certain plot elements. They're usually humorous or add more to the story, or let you know more about the characters. They pop up a lot, however. You can, at times, feel drowned out in character development.

The story also tackles some heavy themes, but manages to go about it in a way that isn't preachy like so many JRPGs have a tendency to do. Despite what topical issues Tales of the Abyss brings up, you never feel like the game is lecturing, talking down to you or trying to teach you lessons all the time. It's primarily there to be entertaining and fun.

The Tales series does, from time to time, have a tendency to get a bit wordy and drowned out in exposition, however. As entertaining as the story can be you'll find moments where you'll go to a town, hear all sorts of exposition and then be directed to another town (sometimes with no dungeon or battles in between) just to be hit over the head with more exposition. In Tales of the Abyss this happens primarily because there's so much to take in. The story can feel overwhelming at times and convoluted at others. It's entertaining, but gets bogged down because of how much is thrown in. So much so that it slows down not because the pacing of the game calls for it... but because the story has to take a moment to explain things to the player.

Don't think this means Tales of the Abyss is absolutely no fun. It's a lot of fun. Particularly because the battle system is so amazing. Tales of the Abyss, like many Tales games, uses the linear motion battle system. You come into contact with the enemy and are whisked into a battle where you can move around freely on a line. Soon you'll be able to free roam all you want without being on a single line. You can attack normally or use special techniques called Artes. It works in such a way that battling is actually quite fun. But even the battle system adds layers at some point. This isn't just mindless button mashing. If you don't begin to learn some of the finer points of the battle system, Tales of the Abyss just might crush you.

There are two things that add to the battle experience. The first are the AD skills. At some point you'll get capacity cores that can grant a bonus to stats as you level up. As you get these bonuses you may also get AD skills. Get enough bonus to your strength, for instance and you'll learn an AD skill that might add to your attack string (so you have five swings to an attack instead of just four). The AD skills serve as a slight boost to your characters. They start off basic, letting you free run or recover form an attack that knocks you away. But soon you'll have longer combos, or perhaps a boost in speed during battle. Maybe even skills that will let you recover a small amount of HP as you take damage. You don't HAVE to play with these perks on either. If you feel they are making the game too easy you can turn them off.

You second thing is the field of fonons. As you cast certain elemental spells certain fields will appear. Stand in them and use an arte and some of your artes will morph and turn into different and more powerful artes corresponding to that element. It's amusing stuff.

The only issue is that it takes a while before the game actually introduces you to the AD skills. You'll learn some, but you won't get a capacity core for quite some time. Likewise, the game doesn't even bother to explain field of fonons for a LONG time (but the game doesn't have to explain it in order for you to take advantage of it). Other aspects get introduced slightly later as well. Every character has an overlimit gauge. When full and they go overlimit they take half damage and don't stumble. Until you get Mystic Artes (more or less Tales of the Abyss's form of a super attack) it seems like a useless perk.

You only control one character in combat, however. The others are controlled by AI, but they're usually quite competent. Usually they'll heal characters without question or exploit enemy weaknesses. The exception is that they sometimes will use items a little too freely. Luckily the game lets you customize some of these things. You can select for characters not to use items, for instance. Or to focus primarily on physical attacks or magic.

All these elements give Tales of the Abyss some depth to the battle system. And it's important to try and exploit them. The journey is long. It might well take you sixty hours to complete the game the first time through. However, the game has a lot of replay value as well as tons of optional content. In nearly every town you visit there is something extra to do. Small tiny quests. Some connect to an even bigger quest where the reward is a special item, a weapon for a character or perhaps even a title (which impacts a characters stats). There's a lot to explore in Tales of the Abyss. The main game itself can take around sixty hours, but do all the optional content and the game can be double that. There's also a New Game+ and you can alter the difficulty level in it.

In terms of what's changed from the PS2... there isn't very much. Although you will be impressed that they were able to port a Playstation 2 game to a handheld. The game certainly looks nicer on the 3DS as it looks a lot smoother and the presentation looks a little cleaner. The load times are also vastly improved over the Playstation 2 version. Most everything else is about the same, however. The voice acting is still very good and well delivered and it's nice that they retained it here. The music also still sounds good coming from the 3DS's speakers. What doesn't work out so well is the 3D. Like some of your favorite movies, some games just don't make the transition to 3D well. Tales of the Abyss is one of them. The 3D simply doesn't add anything to the experience. It isn't bad in battle, but Tales of the Abyss doesn't offer many other moments where the 3D is likely to enhance the experience. In most cases, you wouldn't even notice the game was in 3D at all. You're better off playing with the 3D turned off. Aside from that, the only other difference is that there is absolutely no multiplayer anymore. Even if you and a friend own the game, it's completely gone.

Aside from that, the game is virtually unchanged from the Playstation 2 version. There are no extra bosses or new sidequests thrown in exclusively for the 3DS. It's pretty much a straight port. This begs the question... is the game worth getting if you already have it on the Playstation 2? Well, that's hard to say. It's a smoother looking and running game, but the lack of any real extras doesn't really make it worth while for those who have the Playstation 2 version. Unless you really want it on the go or you just want to relive it there's no reason to pick it up if you've still got your Playstation 2 version. Those who have never played it and happen to have a 3DS, however, will definitely enjoy the game if they're looking for something to keep them busy for a while.

Tales of the Abyss is still a good game. One that has aged quite gracefully. If you haven't had the chance to experience this adventure and you're a fan of the JRPG, then this is a must own for 3DS owners who don't already have the Playstation 2 version.

Tales of the Abyss 3DS is a more or less direct port of the PS2 version of TotA. I never had a chance to play the original, so this is my take on the game coming purely from the 3DS experience.

Story 9.5/10

First of all, the game has a fantastic, engrossing story. While many will say it is clichéd with anime tropes, I would only agree in part. However, this game has its own spin on many of those tropes and does so in such a way that captivated me unlike anything I've played since Xenosaga. The characters have real problems and address them. This game is filled with imperfect, jagged characters, and they all must band together across those imperfections to rise above what they expect from themselves. I won't go into any details, because anything would spoil the plot other than the game's brief blurb on the back of the cover. Make sure to not to read about the story because it must be experienced first hand, any spoilers will do just that--spoil the magic of this game.

Gameplay 10/10

The gameplay itself is fantastic. The Tales battle system took a big step with the addition of Free run, which allows the player to stray from the action line with the enemy, enabling you to run freely around the battlefield. The combat itself is quite engaging. It is not turn based. It is almost more like Smash Bros. in that you have two buttons to determine different attacks, which will vary depending on the direction the circle pad is pushed. Battles are engaging and only get more fun as the game continues. The difficulty is fairly low if you can wrap your head around the tactics of the combat system, but there are harder modes available (two after a new game).

Content 10/10 (if you've already played the PS2 version, this changes as there is no additional content in the game)

The game has many sidequests and the main game will probably last you anywhere between 40 and 60 hours your first time through--it is a substantial game. Some sidequests can only be completed on a second playthrough of the game which, along with multiple difficulties, is more incentive to play through the quest several times.

I don't know how the PS2 version differed in controls, but this game plays wonderfully on the 3DS. The controls are tight and effective.

Visuals 8.5/10

The visuals in this game are quite nice--thus far, this is certainly the nicest looking RPG I've ever played on a handheld. The size of the world is impressive as well, and I don't think it would be exaggerating to rank this among the biggest RPGs on a portable system. The low resolution of the 3DS screen, along with a lack of anti-aliasing, means that a lot of small details are more jagged than playing this on a large CRT television through your PS2. However, despite what people have said about the game, the 3D adds to help this a little--if you put the slider to somewhere between 30 and 40 percent, the game looks really grand. I haven't turned the 3D for more than a minute in my first playthrough simply because it is quite enjoyable and adds a nice depth to the game.

In short, if you have a 3DS and like RPGs, this is your game. If you don't have a 3DS but like RPGs, this is the time to get one. If you can find a copy of this increasingly hard-to-find game, grab it. You'll enjoy it and if you don't, you can probably sell it for little, if any, loss.

Disclaimer: I never played the original PS2 version of this game. I've only played the 3DS verison.

I... I just love this game. After plugging 40 hours into it in the past month, I've decided that it is my favorite 3DS game to date. The story, if you haven't played it before, is wonderful. It's the first storyline in a long time that's made me emotionally invested in the characters. I feel like I know them like old friends, and the enemies and foes truly feel like my own enemies and foes. As far as story length goes, yes it's LONG. It's a very long game. An chances are, you won't get most of the secret story points on your first playthrough. I'm still not done yet, but who knows, maybe I'll play it again. :D

Now, onto the nitty-gritty: graphics and controls. The game feels very good to play, and the battles (all that's really important control-wise) are VERY fun. The shortcut feature is now implemented to the touch screen for easy access. I can say with absolute confidence that the controls feel natural and are very easy to grasp, leaving the rest of the game to perfect your skills. Lotsa fun, I can't tell ya enough.

Graphics are wonderful, and easy on the eyes. I don't use the 3D on the game much though. It's just not really needed. I mean, it's cool, but not needed, ya know? Same kind of sentiment that I had with Ocarina of Time 3Dgreat game, with 3D if you want to use it. Considering this was a PS2 game before, the visuals are WONDERFUL. I really wish they could do this kind of port with other Tales of the World games. Battle camera feels very smooth, too.

The audio in this game is where I was really taken back. Most Japanese RPGs that are translated to English have TERRIBLE voice acting, but this game... it feels like the characters really FEEL what they're saying, and they don't sound too obnoxious. Yes, there are a couple bad voices (two, tops), but how different is that from day-to-day life, huh? ;) The music is wonderful. It makes you feel the mood of the game. While there are many tracks that are used over and over, they never really feel out of place. A nice touch, I gotta say.

Overall, this game is a typical JRPG: young adults fight an evil organization to save the world, and they all grow up along the way. However, this game has left a great impression on me, and I can't wait to finish the game, and then play it again. Why not? After all, it's the best RPG on the Nintendo 3DS to date!

If you're looking for an RPG and Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts don't fit your fancy, this game will satisfy. I guarantee it. I still can't believe final fantasy xii overshadowed this gem...

I'll keep this short. The Tales Of series has been 1 of my favorite rpg series since Tales of Destiny for PS1 & i've loved every game in the series since.. They always deliver amazing, rich worlds to explore with fun, lovable, anime style characters, engaging stories with epic plot twists, great action oriented battle systems & enough depth of rpg gameplay to satisfy most die hard rpg fans.. I was so happy when i found out they were bringing the ps2 classic to the 3ds i didnt know what to do with myself except snatch it up & try & spread the word that this is a great game that everybody who has 3ds should play.. Its worth every penny & in purhasing it hopefully it'll show Nintendo & the powers that be that we americans love not just rpgs but great games just as much as the next gamer & want more of these great games to come our way... If your looking for a great rpg for the 3ds, this is it!!!!!!

This game, when it first came out on PS2 years ago was absolutely fantastic! The anime cut-scenes are gorgeous (yes, full-on traditionally animated), the voice acting is solid, the story is interesting, the in-game sprites are 3d modeled & have all sorts of little expressions for different emotions plus different costumes for many in-game earned "titles"

The 3DS version is basically the exact same game. There is absolutely nothing new here. The graphics on a tiny lil 3DS screen don't look very good as nobody bothered to remake them for the new media (everything was made to see on a bigger screen of a television, it really shows) and the dual-screen is severely underused

If you have access to the PS2 release go play that instead. Otherwise, play this on the XL. The graphics on smaller screens just look pathetic

Really sad the "skits" are still total silence. Yes, the original American PS2 release was silent too, but you'd think they would have dubbed at least a few for the new release (the Japanese release had a dub! Why can't we??). The icons still have animated mouths, and the music quiets down... but there's no dub! (you also can't fast-skip the text in the skit. The experience really starts to drag)

I admit it. I fell into the hype that this game built up weeks before it's initial release and I thought this game would be a real contender. Well, it isn't. It does have a few interesting quirks but overall, it's a mediocre, Need For Speed Underground-wannabe that lack overall polish and finesse.

The usual suspects for a street racing games are here: fast import cars, performance tuning, pimp graphics and parts, and modern urban pop/rap music but the primary attention-getter that gets the lion's share of the DVD bits are the models. Real models. The ones that have graced many of the import tuner mags you see on the magazine racks. This is where it gets tacky in a hurry. In winning certain series races and beating special challenges, you can "win" these models. And you can "hook up" up with them before you start to run more races. If you lose too many races, they dump you like a sack of old cat litter. Win some races and they will want to go back to your place to "give you a reward". And we ain't talking about baking cookies! Is this really appropriate for a video game that will be played by young kids? Even though the rating is for Teens, I can guarantee you that many, young, pre-teen males will probably spend more time watching all the model's videos than really enjoying the game. The videos are sexually suggestive to downright erotic and this type of titillating tripe has no business in a game like this. The amount of space these videos consumed could have easily been used to make a better, more appealing game.

OK, now for the game itself. It's got its good points but it mostly falls short in a number of areas. The selection of cars are reasonable over 40 in all with Mitsubishi, Toyota, Volkswagen, Lexus, Subaru, Mazda, and Nissan as the manufacturers but the only problem with the selection is that many of them are virtual duplicates as opposed to truly different cars. If Nissan wants to have 2 Skylines, fine, but so we need more than five? Most of the selections from Mazda are RX-7's. For the fan of these cars, it's great to choose from them, but since there are no differences in how they perform, it's moot and a waste of space.

Overall, the car graphics are about average. The detail is OK but it lacks any real definition. The streets and surrounding areas of Miami, Philadelphia, and L.A. are actually pretty good with no pop-ups. The streets are less "wet" than in NFSU but they do reflect the lights and neon of the streets pretty well

Sound wise, the cars don't always sound authentic but it's decent enough. As far as the music is concerned, it's your usual rap/hard pop fare but since I always take out the music in these kind of games, I can't say if it's good or not. All I know is that it's distracting.

Playability is good. The learning curve for controlling the car is easy which makes it nice to jump right in and drive. The feel of the different powertrain configurations (rear, front, all-wheel drive) is accurate and precise which is kind of surprising for a game that feels more arcade-like than an actual driving simulation.

The goal of SRS is to gain money, respect, and girls. In Street Mode, you can run in the Respect Challenges and earn respect points by completing certain task. The Crew Meets offer you a chance to participate in series races. You win money and respect for winning these series while the street challenge races let your opponent (and you) puts up a wad of cash that can be all yours if you can beat him (or all his if you lose). The only thing that can improve here is to have a greater variety of drivers and cars in these challenges since the same few people in the same few cars will challenge you over and over again. There's also the Roll Up Races where you flash your lights behind a challenger with a "Race Me" arrow above the car, very similar to the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. There's also a Cruise Zone you can go into that lets you cruise the city (controlled by the AL) but you can control the camera so you can get some pretty nice angles of your ride.

The game also comes with a multiplayer feature, Split Screen, and online play as well as Quick Race, Checkpoint, Iron Man, and Speed Trial in the Arcade Mode.

I could go more into this game but I'll let it stand as is. It has such potential to be a much better game but it only comes across as a cheesy, assemblage of parts, experience that is made worse by the equally cheesy, assemblage of "parts", female models. OK, the game itself can be fun to play and it's involving to a point but it needs more than gyrating, overly exposed women with suggestive lyrics to make this game worthwhile. Rent if you must, but look for something better.

I got bored of this game after about 10 minutes. The level is lousy, the car control is lousy, and it's a total waste of time to even try to complete it. Online is boring as well.

The girls in the game is probably an attempt to cover the lousiness of this game. Even if you're just buying this game just for the girls, it does have hot pictures of them on the menu in skimpy clothes, but it's not really much. You can also earn videos of real models dancing, but it's not really that sexual if that's what you're expecting. It's just a girl in slightly skimpy clothes like at the nightclub. They don't dance in skimpy bikinis like at a gentlemen's club. Don't expect that kind of stuff. This game is rated Teen, not Mature or over.

Anyways, this game is lame and a waste of time to complete. If there were no models, this game would have nothing to show but it's lousy gameplay.

It is challenging to race the tuner,also to fix the body damage when you wreck.The girlfriends are a added bonus to fix up your car or cars quickly.There is more driving time on this game and does not have set tracks like NFS.The police chases are fun to get into make sure you escape or pay a fine.The graphics for the tuners are different,but nothing like NFS. Yes the bodykits are only simple but when you are a street racer(like myself)you do not want to pull attention from the police.In this game you set your own destiny(where you race,who you race and the cruise spots are a plus)

Overall this game ranks under NFS because of the accessories for the tuners are limited.But if you like (NFS Hot Pursuit) the police chases are fun.

If you want to play and see how the real underground racing happens then this is a game for you. But if you like fantasy cars and like an easy way to earn your cars then NFS andNFS2 are your games

This is definately one to buy. The pricing is very accurate on all the products. The slight downside is the body kit selections. Other then that the game is tight. Get it for Xbox if you have one since online play is awsome. Dont do a pinkslip race too sooon otherwise you might have to start all over. Multiple cars is the key, trust me. Start out with either an Eclipse 99 GS-T or a Golf GTI or a Jetta. They are your best bets. Goodluck.

This is one of the best shooters I've ever played, well, make that THREE of the best shooters I've ever played. Controls were responsive, overall it was quite "spooky," the only complaints I have were that at certain parts of each game there are "bottlenecks" that are frustratingly difficult to get past and result in destroying the fun of the game. The environments are also very similar for all three games, nothing really exotic and fairly repetitive. The storyline is definitely A+ though. I highly recommend this bundle!

After taking a long break from PC video games, I decided to try again, and found this title. The reviews seemed interesting, and since it contained the whole trilogy, I thought it would be worth the money. I must say that I was impressed with the graphics. I have since played Quake 4, and Fear's graphics were superior. (Vista, Duo Core, XFX 8600 GT 512mb, 2GB Ram). This game does get scary at times. Although you will most likely find a bit of a repetitive feel to it, it holds your attention. If you are into single player modes like I am, this will keep you busy for a while.

F.E.A.R. is a very fun game. The levels are a bit repetitive, but the great enemy AI makes up for that. Replay value is ok (there are things you miss the first time through; that and the different difficulty levels mean you might get maybe 2 or 3 replays out of it). Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I like the fact that friends who don't have the full game can get the multiplayer component for free. I also haven't tried either expansion pack yet.

This includes the director's edition of F.E.A.R., which comes on a DVD (as opposed to several CDs) and includes some extra features.

I enjoyed this game quite a bit. So far I have only gotten through the Main game and I would think about halfway through Extraction Point. I haven't played non-stop either, but when I do play I play for about 2-4 hours straight.

I'm going to do a quick and dirty list type review below using: 1 poor, 2 Bad, 3 Average, 4 Good, 5 Excellent. Also bear in mind I am using Half-life 1 & 2 as a benchmark... if you haven't played those, you should!

Story: Good

The story is fun and entertaining, although I'm not entirely sure I'm grasping the mesh of story lines that the developers intended. First Person Shooter Spec-Ops marines meets the Supernatural ala The Ring? Plays fun enough however.

Control: Excellent

The controls are standard W,A,S,D with a few extras... Flashlight, Leaning, etc. Plays like it belongs on the computer, not like a tragic port from a console. (ex: Halo (which I enjoyed on the xbox!))

Graphics: Excellent

I am rating the graphics as excellent based on the fact that some of the other FPS games currently on the market have phenominal over-the-top WOOHOO graphics, however no one has a machine capable of actually playing them! (ex: Crysis)

Single player: Excellent

So far this game has been extremely fun and the A.I. is incredibly smart at points. Some of the map design is obviously leaning in the A.I.'s favor, for example a lot of the rooms and buildings always have two ways around and the A.I. knows it when assaulting you, but that's okay they need the help as far as I'm concerned. :) If you are an experienced FPS player just start out on hard, moderate isn't worth your time and effort.

Multiplayer: Unknown

Sorry, I haven't tried... yet. I'm not really itching to try it either. There are games out there that are made for multiplayer (Team Fortress 2, Tribes, Battlefield). I prefer to have a few games where I don't have to rely on my internet connection to play.

Hope this helps someone out there. The game has been out for 3 years, but I am happy I waited and scooped it all up in one fell swoop for $30! I gave the game 4 stars due to the odd story line, and there are better plots out there, even for FPS games... no, seriously, there is! LOL!

In late 1992 I walked into an Arcade at the age of 10 years old. At the time Arcade gaming was enjoying quite a bit of success at family fun parks, and this Birthday trip was about to introduce me to one of the greatest series to every hit the arcades and consoles.

To this day I still want to hit Block, Up, Up to finish characters off when I play as my man Scorpion...however, the urge to play any kind of Mortal Kombat has long since left. After MKII and MK3 things got pretty rocky in the "quality/fun" department of the Mortal Kombat series. I played many of the games, but the last 3 offerings I haven't bothered more than a few minutes playing.

THIS GAME however has changed ALL of that!!

This my friends is THE Mortal Kombat game that fans have been wanting and missing all these years. This is an absolute, all out feature fest of fighting modes and options. The challenge mode alone has over 300 options to play through and the customized modes have literally an endless supply of options to tweak the game as you see fit.

All the classic characters and favorites included in the game are well represented. All of the costumes are here too...from the 90's style uniforms to unlock-able classics and sweet special outfits. No one will regret this purchase. If you want THE BEST fighting game of recent memory (and yes I play them all) along with the most diverse set of options and FUN modes, then this is your ticket.

The extreme and even "offensive" (haha) violence, awesome sound, and immense fun is finally back with a wonderful new fighting engine and all the things that made a 10 year old boy spend hundreds of quarters at the arcade all those years ago. Mortal Kombat has FINALLY returned!!!

Note: Ignore the one star review. If it doesn't get deleted by Amazon in the first place, the guy has no clue what he's talking about...which is obvious. The Xbox 360 version actually has slightly sharper textures, and a Cleaner and Darker look to it..not to mention better lighting/shadow casting. This is from a side by side comparison..and a GPU based difference in the two games. You can visit lensoftruth.com to see the difference if you want. I'm not bashing the PS3 version though, it is basically equal to the 360 version and vice versa. You are buying one beauty of a game on EITHER console.

No Second Fiddle Here

I am writing this review to hopefully put some minds at ease. I wrote the first review on Mortal Kombat for PS3 after I played the game into the wee hours of the morning. I gave it high praise on that system (feel free to read it if you want to hear my actual opinion of the game, It absolutely applies to you 360 owners, too). I even mentioned Kratos being a cool edition to the game and all the things I appreciated about the game. However, I noticed there are some reviews on here blasting the game on the 360 console for some reason. I have no idea why people are loyal to a console to the point where they must disparage another product. I guess being anonymous makes it okay for some to be dishonorable and deceiving about the product, but I digress from what I came here to tell you.

The game on 360 is excellent. I find it to be just as fun, and the online experience (the reason I got a 360 copy) is rich and enjoyable right from the get-go. I actually prefer using the 360 controller for competitive matches, a mere preference of mine.

About Kratos

I know a lot of 360 owners are bummed about not getting an exclusive character. In fact this is the only legitimate area where the PS3 has an advantage in my opinion. I can tell you that while Kratos is cool, he is only available to use in the versus mode and does not affect the main store aspects. He does fit in nicely with the Mortal Kombat universe and has spiffy special moves and fatalities. So maybe check them out on You-Tube for a grin and go back to the rich and fully-satisfying Xbox version. After all, you are not missing much, certainly not enough for me to deduct a star. You do get to use your custom avatar in the online King of the Hill Mode, which is rather cool, too.

Having just picked this up I've had a couple of hours to test drive it before heading off to work. I'll be sure to update this review over the next few days when I have a more definite opinion but wanted to give the Amazon crowd my initial thoughts.

So far, I'm in love with the game. Playing locally against a friend is a blast and takes me back. Call me sentimental, but this game takes me back to my childhood playing against my brother when mom and dad weren't around (we had to convince them it wasn't to violent). As soon as you finish your first fight you'll have a smile on your face and be looking for another.

The violence and sound really are what sell this game from the get go. It takes the game back to its roots and some of the fatalities are simply amazing. With plenty of unlocks and various single player content, one will have a lot to do in this new version.

The graphics look fine on my HD TV, while they are not the greatest they are far from bad. As a previous reviewer stated, both consoles are about even and graphics are actually pretty impressive (comparing it to other fighting games).

With that said, I still need to explore the single player more for the review to be truly fair. But lets be honest, this game is designed to be played locally with friends and at that it succeeds. This will definitely be a go to game any time your looking to get a few friends together and have a good time.

First, I'd like to say that anyone who went out of their way to complain about this game's "updating" issues and gave this game a 1 is utterly ridiculous. Welcome to day 1 of any new gamethere are bound to be issues.

Second, This game is AT LEAST a 4/5. I wont even go into any details over how many 5/5's and 95%+ reviews I've seen for this game. This game is greatenough said. Its been a long time since we've seen Mortal Kombat and its quite welcome on our generations consoles. It really deserves a 4.5 from me but Amazon only has a 4 or 5 and I can't give it a 5/5.

I gave this game a 4/5 for a few reasons but one of the main ones was that were I to use a code included in my game case, I would effectively be screwing over the next person who gets my game (if I were to ever trade it in). Similar to EA's online pass, you need to pay a fee to play online. They do include a 2-day pass but to me these kinds of tactics are unwarranted and ridiculous. I bought some of my favorite games used so to me it thwarts those cheap gamers that will hold out for used copies of this game only to find out it will cost them virtually the same if it were new. May not seem like a big issue but its not a good road to start heading down.

Alsoits been said many times that some of the boss fights are just crazy...I've had to re-do a few fights over and over again but I'm not the kinda gamer who gives up so it didn't make me annoyed, it was simply ridiculous as I was absolutely obliterated during some battles. That being said...The game itself isn't truly that hard. You will win a lot of your fights. I cannot say the same for the other modes though like the challenge tower since its so meticulous and difficult. I haven't beat the single player completely yet but I'm already going to say that it could have probably been a bit longer as the events are beginning to conclude in my game. I will certainly play through again when I do beat it shortly.

Gameplay: (5/5) You know what to expect. I fight. I win or lose. Fatalities. Blood. Gore. Its all there. The X-ray moves you pull off are absolutely stunning and convenient if you aren't winning in a fight and want to turn the tables. Every character has a series of moves to do followed by enhanced moves and special moves as well as fatalities. The tag team is by far the coolest thing I've seen in a fighting game as sometimes you can pull out a fighter, throw in a new one and attack the other player before they have a chance to even notice. The physics aren't exactly real but it all feels right. The characters don't play clunky or slow. The pacing of the fights is well done as well.

Fun: (5/5) There are different modes to try, online mode, tag-team, practice rounds, etc...Plenty to do. I've spent most of my time in the single player and it is by far the best single player of any fighting gameguaranteed. There's an actual story along with most of the notable characters in the series. I won't spoil anything for anyone but there are some 'Human' forms of characters and backgrounds which will surprise you. This is a true game for the fans. They even have the guy that appears on the side of your screen that says "Whoopsies!" when you have a series of combos. This game does not lack fun.

Replayability: (5/5) Inviting people over to compete? Going online? Or going solo? Doesn't matteryou can play matches until the end of time. There are plenty of characters and moves to learn (a ridiculous amount). It will take time to master this game. I wasn't getting the "Oh this is quite repetitive" feeling playing this game at all. You don't rank up but you do gain Money/points to spend on alternative costumes, moves/fatalities, concept art, etc. that is all unlockable with the right amount of points.

Graphics: (4/5) A little polish sometimes wouldn't have killed anyone but the characters still look great. Its awesome seeing these characters in 3d like this with such detail.

Value: (5/5) This is me personally but I know that if I'm tired of a shooter or Gears, Mortal Kombat is the first game I'm putting in. This game is beyond worth it to me. It will only get cheaper as well. I also snatched this up with a pre-order DLC (Reptile's outfit and fatality) and a $10 credit so that has value written all over it.

If you enjoy fighting games, this is for you. If you really aren't into fighting games but love MKyeah this game is for you too probably. If you just think the characters look cool and you are disappointed that this game hasn't changed its formula too much from the originaldon't bother. What you see is what you get. That being said, I really enjoyed this game and it was the first official fighting game I've bought. Is it perfect? No. Is it fun? Oh yeah it is. At the end of the day its simple...If you loved everything about MK, you'll be getting a pleasant surprise with this game. It is by no means a let-down. Its not a cut and dry game either...there's actual substance here to sink your teeth into for quite some time. Once againif you HATE fighting games, just don't buy it because that's what this is. This game doesn't stray too far at all from its original games and formula.

*DLC characters will be released down the road

*Tons of moves to learn for each character

And Finally...Yes...Reptile looks like 'Rango' but I believe everyone has the opportunity to get his original outfit unlocked at some point through the Krypt game mode. This is certainly the BEST MK game to hit store shelves to date. Do the kid-in-you a favor and buy this game.

Operation Flashpoint was one of the best military games ever to come out for PC, and this is pretty much just a direct port of that game over to Xbox. So, if you have already played all the missions on PC, they're all here, unchanged on the Xbox version, so you might be a little bored with it

Other than that, this game is perfect. You hear some people bitch because the graphics aren't Halo level or whatever, but they're fine and really the fact that things look a little hazy farther away adds to the realism.

If you never played Operation Flashpoint on PC, I can't recommend this game highly enough. Ghost Recon was basically just a Flashpoint rip off, and Flashpoint does it better and offers you a more open ended experience, especially when compared with Ghost Recon 2 and its add ons.

Sometimes there is more than one enemy at 3 O'clock. ;-)

Considering the fact that the terrains included are FIVE 12 kilometer x 12 kilometer (or about 8 mile x 8 mile) completely unique islands where having skill at reading a topographical map is a distinct advantage, the graphics are excellent. HDR lighting, real-time shadows, depth-of-field effects, multiple LOD's, a completely realistic moving starfield, real-time day/night cycle and lighting, flying insects and birds with their own A.I., real tidal cycles and wave action proportionate to the state of the weather. The list goes on. Soviet soldiers have never looked so realistic in a PC game.

The developers somehow managed to take a game that ran with 256 Megs of RAM and make it work WELL on a console with 64 Megs of RAM.

A great deal of lies are being told about this game, probably because it is such an EMBARRASSMENT to all of the many watered-down titles claiming to be tactical-shooters, World War II Online and the very old "SEAL Team" by Electronic Arts probably being the only two exceptions.

In considering whether to buy this title, one might consider that Operation Flashpoint: Elite is basically the first military SIMULATION to grace the X-Box.

If you want to play a game that actually simulates real Army combined-arms operations, then this is the game for you. You cannot, however, scratch its depth in a 30-minute taste. The more you explore the gameplay and the islands, the greater your realization will be that this is the tactical shooter you've always wanted to play.

If you would rather be playing Halo or Doom, this game is not for you. For those who used to play Doom on the PC because they did not know that "SEAL Team" existed, Operation Flashpoint: Elite will feel like the tactical playground you've always wanted.

Operation Flashpoint: Elite is such a full-featured and realistic tactical-shooter that if you are planning on serving in the United States Army or United States Marine Corps any time soon, it would behoove you to get this 60+ hours of scenario training under your belt before you ship out to Iraq or Afghanistan. Chances are that you will see the game during your military service, as there is a version made just for the military called VBS1.

If you join the rest of us on the X-Box Live battlefield, be sure to ask for help. You should find the community quite willing to lend advice. You've never seen teamwork play such a heavy role in the outcome of a mission as you will in Operation Flashpoint: Elite.

Are you in to realistic military games? Have you logged over 40 hours into Ghost Recon? Have you played Socom: U.S Navy Seals at your friends house more times than he has? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you will love this game. When you start up this game, you will proboly notice that the graphics aren't that good. That is the only flaw about this game. In 2001 this game was realeased on the PC, and it was great. It was basically an offline Battlefield 1942. Now thatit is on the X-Box it carries over the awesome action of the PC version and adds nice control and x-box live functionality.(Not a lot of people play online so you might have to do some searching) This game is a dedicated military simulation that takes place near the mid 80's. So you WW2 enthusiests might want to look elsewhere. This game also features a mission creator which isn't just a level creator. You choose both teams weapons, vehicles(there are a lot to choose from), and Spawn Points.

This is a great game. If you can get past the bad graphics, you will find a deep and imersive shooter. Of corse, if you want a modern day military simulation, you might want to try America's Army. If you want a little less realism try Ghost Recon. But if you want the best military sim ever, buy this game.

This game is marred by awkward, touchy controls and ugly visuals.

Grabbed this in hopes of having a solid military sim on console. While the game takes pride in providing a relatively hardcore experience in this respect, poor aiming more than does the job at turning your time with the game into an infuriating one. With a shooter, especially on a controller, you need the aiming to be as precise and smooth feeling as possible. It really just makes most engagements a chore to take on.

Add ugly, muddy visuals with lots of fogging and you have a product that neither plays well, nor is it anything to look at.

Sadly, I say avoid. Even with the lack of proper military sims on console, this one simply is not worth your time.

I recommended this game for those of you who like realistic shooters and don't mind the poor graphics and cheesy audio. This game has a high replay ability if you want to complete the two campaigns that add up to 60 missions, play some short instant action missions, create your own missions with a mission editor, and you can play multiplayer with ai bots! Now I am sure you are thinking "what bots?", but I assure you that their are multiplayer bots. In order to play with bots you need to open up a system link game,but get this I figured out a way to use system link with ONLY ONE XBOX, when you open the system link game it will ask you to please connect to another xbox, but if you just simply take a Ethernet cord or xbox system link cord and plug one end into your xbox and another into your laptop or computer (i used a Mac but PC will also work)this will cause the pop up message to disapear allowing you to go to the server menu and selecting create your own game. There are a number of maps and multiplayer modes, but I have not tried them all. The mode that seems to be most fun it free for all mode. When I played capture the flag I spawned with my team of 4 or 5 and I could not find the enemy team. I was killed by them but i never saw them and I dont believe they even tried to go for my flag, but I was playing with their difficulty on recruit so maybe that explains it. Overall it can be a fun game with tanks and helicopters that are hard to control at first, but you will get the hang of it. The mission editor is probly the stongest part of the game.

I am a huge fan of the Sims so i thought i would try out the Urbz. I am glad I did, because it was worth the 50 dollars!!

One thing I like about it is that you are able to go to different neighborhoods. When your Urb gets tired of skating around in Kicktail Park, you can just hop on the subway and go to someplace new(if you have the rep). My favorite part, though, is the addition of style. Each neighborhood has its own style that you need to dress like. In the Sims you have a swimsuit, pajamas, formalwear and that about it. But in Urbz you can have as many different clothes as you want!! Another thing is that the game is easy so you can actually get enough money to furnish your apartment(s) and buy clothes(unlike in the Sims, where sometimes it is hard to get enought money to get a nice house/objects in your house). The graphics are pretty incredible as well.

It isn't all great though, there are some flaws. The load times are slow and sometimes it hard to select objects. Also, some people might not like that the social actions are colorcoded(green for ones that are most likely to work, orange for ones that can go either way, and red for ones that will most likley fail). I don't mind it, but for some people it might take away the fun of not knowing which actions will work the best.

Right before I bought The Urbz I was playing The Sims Bustin Out. I never played any sims games before. Bustin Out to me was hard to figure out. I had to go online and look in forums to even understand the game. It wasn't very clear as to how to complete the missions. But I did find Bustin Out to be very fun after figuring things out. It took me a couple weeks to finish the game. However, I did not like how often you had to shower and eat and all that stuff.

Now for The Urbz ... much easier in my opinion. Missions are very clear so you know what you have to do ... maybe too easy. However, you don't need to bath or eat etc as much. Also, the sleeping time is much less than in Bustin Out which was nice. I liked how you got to go to work and actually work for your money.

What I didn't like was it was difficult to actually highlight an item, not like Bustin Out. I also just thought it was too easy of a game because I finished it in like 3 days where Bustin Out took me a couple weeks.

I'd say if you like the Sims it's worth a try, but try to buy it cheaper and then sell it when you're done :)

I got an Xbox just recently, so I needed a game for it. Then, I bought this game because I've been a big Sims fan for a long time. The game is fun, but it lacks some things from the orginal Sim games. Of course, the characters still don't speak English, create relationships, get robbed, and shop. But in the Urbz, you build a reputation to go to different neighborhoods of the city, live in a [small] apartment, start a crew, and dress up in the weirdest clothes. The game is very complicated, but it's also a lot of fun & very addictive. I'd recommend this game to everyone, especially Sim fans.

But being a huge fan of The Sims and Sims2, I thought I'd buy it because living in a huge city, I hoped it would parallel and be fun -Sims-style.

Ugh. It is so not.

If you're one of those people, like me, who hate going out to big clubs and watching people fawn (fake-fake-fake!) over some celeb-du-jour or some musician, or someone who's SOMEONE ... ugh ... then this game isn't for you.

It's about ladder climbing, and about who you know, not what you know. It's about kissing butt (something I have a hard time doing), and being a "player" ....

This is beyond my generation. I think teenagers and maybe young adults into their early 20s might like this game. Or anyone who likes playing THE game -then give it a shot.

Otherwise, don't waste your money.

If you want to play a good sims game then go buy The sims bustin' out. Do not even bother to rent the urbz it is awful. I thought this game would be similar to the sims 1 and the sims bustin out. Instead they tried to be "hip" and ruined the whole game. The best thing about the game is that it is really short and the black eyed peas did the music.

The loading time is very long,in fact I bet if you added up all the loading time, its longer than the actual gameplay. You carry your furniture around with you and the furniture is different in every district which I thought was annoying.

Every district is different. There are the goths, the artsy people etc.. When you go to different districts you get a job. I thought this was going to be cool because in Bustin' out you didn't get to see your sim at work. But it all turns out to be boring. You press different buttons on your controller in different combinations to perform your tasks. Some of the jobs were cute and funny (like training pet ferrets) but the button pressing was very boring and repetitive. They missed a perfectly good opportunity to be inventive.

Its all about climbing the social ladder, impressing people, and proving how cool you are etc Every night each district has a party at a club but you have to have the right reputation to get into the club and wear the right clothes or you won't be able to get past the bouncer. So for example, when you come back from the artsy district don't think you are going to get into the hip hop club dressed like andy warhol.

Changing your outfit when you go to different districts was very annoying. If you wear the wrong clothes in the wrong district the natives will insult your clothes. But if you have a great rep they will start dressing like you. I thought the whole point of having the different clothes, hairstyles, etc was to be able to make your sim look the way YOU wanted?

At the club a dude dressed like a Run DMC reject will teach you a power social move that will help you impress others and get a reputation faster. But the characters all are exagerated stereotypes with stupid names. The game tries really hard to be funny but its just corny.

Unlike in the other games your character couldn't even get married and have kids which I thought was lame. There were no real goals in the game, its all about fitting in and impressing characters that were irritating. People from different districts don't get along so for example, the goths might want you to pull a prank on the artsies but who cares?

Being from New York I thought The Urbz would be a funny take on the urban inner city. Its just corny, repetitive, and annoying.

This game kicks ass. it is the only baseball game i like and i have played them all. You get to manage your team trade players for better ones and hire free agents wich are really good for trading. Once you get a guy on fire by strong pithching or good batting he can throw faster hit farther and run faster which is a really good deal. Everytime you throw five strikes you get a special which are pitches like the whammy or the volcnao and are really good for striking out the batter. So overall this game ROCKS.

To the best of my knowledge this character has yet to be released as part of wave 3 which is currently underway (Lightning Rod, Regular Stealth Elf(preorder), legendary Stealth Elf(available at Toys R Us now), Regular series 2 Erupter and Prism Break (pre-order). Hot dog may likely come in a battle pack with another character (gamestop). If you want to pay many times the normal amount for a character that hasn't been released who can stop you. If this character is actually out it is news to me, and cannot be found at any of the major retailers I have researched. Caveat Emptor. Hope this helps.

You will be waiting a long time because this has not even been released yet! Why people don't just wait till release and order it from Amazon then is beyond me!! I've seen this with every skylander now. The quote pre-order is thru the roof on price, then the figure gets released and you can buy it right here for retail on Amazon.com! You can get the figure when it is released, pay the "real" price, and put a stop to the "kid toy vultures" who buy up every single "hot dog" figure they can find just to sell it for $100 on amazon. If these people didn't buy every single hot dog they can get their hands on, there would plenty to go around!

From all the reviews I've read before purchasing this game I was a little skeptical that it wouldn't be for me. I was wrong. Matter fact I purchased it for my 5 year old boy first, just to keep him away from some of my other games while I'm at work. And you know what? This game stays in the PS3 all day. Not only that, when I get home from work the first thing he wants to do is play Little BIG planet. Its fun for me and him. I was hoping for simplified controls like a Mario plat former with just a jump button. But he's figured out how to use the Dual Shock 3 just as good as me. With the main buttons, X to jump and R1 to grab things, it couldn't be any easier. He also knows how to change their clothes and apply stickers and so on. This game is simple, plain and easy. The only problem he may have is figuring out that the game has some physics involved. Running faster to get further jumps, holding the jump button longer, how to jump on springs like objects to get higher takes a little timing that I even have trouble with. This game has plenty of levels, I play maybe an hour a day since I bought it and still have not finished everything. You can also make your own levels, download levels that others have created online, and play with people online. This game has infinite replay if you get into the community. Also, If you want to teach a child how to be greedy with items than this game is for you. I forgot to say that this game is fun for me too. Glad purchased it and you'll be too. One if the few must own exclusives for the PS3, this is coming from a 360 lover.

I bought this game because it looked like something my wife and I could enjoy together. The first game we'd gotten for the PS3, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, hadn't really appealed to her. And I wanted to get something we'd both like.

At its core, LittleBigPlanet is just another platforming game in the long line going back to the early Mario Bros. games. The gameplay is good, but nothing radically different from earlier platforming games. But there are several things that take LBP from good to great:

i) The detailed artwork and music The visuals and music on the story levels are fantastic. Each level has a recognizable look and feel that is designed to evoke a particular mood. The music is catchy and adds another level to the game.

ii) Sackboy personalization As silly as it sounds, the ability to change the sackboy's outfit, skin, and accessories makes the game a lot more fun. This ability, combined with the fact that additional personalization options open up throughout the game, means that you can spend a surprising amount of time dressing up (and re-dressing up) your sackboy.

iii) The community levels I have been absolutely amazed at some of the levels that so-called amateurs put together. While some of the community levels are poorly conceived, there are incredible gems out there. Many of these levels are just as good as the story levels. If I had the time (and the skill) it would be a lot of fun to build my own level and share with the community.

This is a great game and I highly recommend it. We've gotten hours and hours worth of fun out of it.

I don't play the game so much but, when it comes to the kids, this is by far their number one game and they have quite a few to choose from already. They are proud of their creations and they seem to have what seems to be endless fun playing other people's levels online.

REVIEW

Since this is about the GOTY, I will not write a full review of the game itself. I understand that many are new to the Little Big Planet universe but, it turns out, great reviews of the original game have been written by others so simply click on LittleBigPlanet to get an idea of what the game is about. Suffice it to say here that LPB takes advantage of just about every feature and peripheral that the PS3 has or supports and its online interaction is simply unparalleled. For example, you can go to a friend's profile and not only play his or her levels but see what other players levels your buddy liked and get to try those out. Or, you can create some awesome weapons. You can include that weapon inside the prize bubble of a level you create and whomever plays your level can earn the object that you created and use it somewhere else the fun is endless.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Play, Create, Share and, in our case, a lot more. I am not only a (casual) LBP player but also a parent and, to my delight and unlike what 'some' claim, this game has, in fact, made better, smarter kids. And I'm talking about my two boys. They took the 'create' part quite seriously and, after staging duels with custom-made awesome weapons, they began working on their own levels and, to my surprise, they actually asked me to help them learn computer programming which we are doing now. And their grades have actually improved the reason they are getting the GOTY is because they've done well in school so far this year.

EVALUATION AND RATING

If the 'regular' edition was a 5-star in my book, then add 50% to the initial evaluation. It's a definite 'must have'.

For anyone who doesn't own the original LBP, the GOTY is without a doubt the way to go. For owners of the original edition... I don't know if everybody does this but we were able to sell our 'used' (it was in mint condition, actually) copy of LBP for about half of the original price and we used the earnings to partially finance the purchase of the GOTY.

LittleBigPlanet is absolutely amazing. I have never seen such a creative game that has so much to offer. This was my first night playing the game and I am hooked. This game is so much fun I played it for about 6 hours straight. The levels are amazing and so full of character. You can unlock tons of upgrades to customize your sackboy or sackgirl. There are also free downloads on the Playstation network for this game from time to time. The game is exciting with so much to explore and tons of vehicles and rides like mine cars, skateboards, roller coasters, ferris wheels, bumper cars, spaceships, submarines and so much more. Your kids will love it!!! I am 29 and I love the game. Plus you can create your own levels and even host them online for others to play. It is a little complicated to create levels but the tutorials do a good job of explaining it. You can also play with and against others online and even chat with them. If you own the playstation eye you can upload your own pics and add them to the levels for a truly personalized experience. I have uploaded several screen shots so you can get a better idea what the game is like.

It doesn't matter what type of games you play, shooters, RPGs, platformers, puzzle, etc. you will appreciate aspects of LittleBigPlanet and will enjoy what it has to offer as there is no denying this an impressive take on the traditional platformer.

GRAPHICS: Beautiful, the textures are gorgeous and the game runs as smooth as it possibly could, online or off, 4 players or 1. The best graphics I've seen in a side-scrolling platformer. The detail is great though you may not notice things like reflections in the score bubbles at first glance. Technically sound and visually impressive.

GAMEPLAY: Your mom could play this game. There are only two buttons, jump and grab, and you move left to right (or right to left). It is complicated a bit by the 2.5D setting, meaning there are 3 levels of "depth" to the layout, but you get used to it quickly. There is technically nothing "new" added to the platform genre, ie moving platforms, large jumps, and springs that shoot you up in the air, but the level design is so innovative and smart and there will be plenty of times you'll think "Wow that is really cool, they could never do that in Mario." Of course all this pales to the best feature of the gameplay, PHYSICS, which is what gives you that "Mario needs to catch up" feeling. The physics are rock solid, just a hair above realistic to let you do some fun things but when you're swinging from grapple to grapple attached to a bungee cord and your sackboy is holding on for dear life punping his legs to getthat extra inch before you jump, it always feels right. Utilizing objects in the environment is perfect and they move with realistic weight. A light tap of the X button yields a small jump while pressng harder yields a much higher jump.

The only hit to gameplay is that with 3 or 4 players the camera can struggle to keep up with the action, but while this may cause some (very) minor annoyances, it prompts groups to work together, stay close, and leave no man (or woman) behind.

CUSTOMIZATION: For a platformer, the game has an unprecedented amount of customization. Each level is packed with goodies that allow you to alter the appearance of sack boy (or girl), from the simple: changing his color or add polka dots, to the complex: adding a george washington style wig with pilgrim pants and a spear for him to carry (in case the natives attack...). Add to that the customization of your "Pod," which is like your home base, and no one will ever have two setups that are the same. You can add hundreds of decorations and even choose music from your hard drive to play while you wait in between levels. Throw in a level creator that is so detailed you could technically recreate anything that the game developers created, and the overall level of customization is unparalleled in the genre. Keep in mind though, that creating a detailed level will take a lot of time, the tool is very comprehensive but you wont be creating a level in minutes.

CO-OP: Cooperative play is where the game shines, it was built for this and is the single reason Nintendo created New Super Mario Bros. Wii to compete. Online play is a snap and people can jump in and out of your games with ease, up to 4 people on a level at once. Inviting players is easy and co-op works just as strongly offline. Certain parts of levels are only accessible with 2 or more players so there is always incentive to have a friend or 2 or 3 along for the ride.

REPLAY VALUE: The only real knock I agree with on the game is that the story mode is short. I can't disagree, but keep in mind there is a lot of content in each level, it scores you against your friends as well as the world online and will let you know how many items you missed on the level giving you plenty of reason to play through multiple times to get that 100% completed. You WILL want to achieve some of these things. Also, as of now there are tons of detailed user created levels to keep you busy, when the game first released the online community was lacking but as updates have come and users have gotten used to the level creator there are some impressive ones out there, I suggest searching by hghest rated to get solid levels. GOTY edition comes with a few downloadable packs, about 20 total additional levels and a ton of extra stickers, decorations, costumes, and clothes to increase the aforementioned customization.

This game is for EVERYONE. Men take heed, your girlfriend who has never touched a videogame and scoffs at you when you choose to play over spending time with her will be intrigued as soon as you turn this title on. The cuteness of the characters alone will make her ask "what is this?" Women, take note, this is an easy to pick up and play game you can finally share with that Call of Duty shooting, Halo alien fighting boyfriend of yours. There are only 2 buttons, so if that 43-button PS3 controller looks too intimidating compared to the 2 button NES controller you played Super Mario on when you were a kid, rest easy, you only need two buttons to jump and grab, that simple. This is one of the best titles for PS3, hands down, the critics know it, the players know it, now stop reading and go find out for yourself.
