Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360 Review
Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge is pretty much the best rugby game ever made till this day it's simply that damn good. Featuring a nice amount of international teams, Rugby Challenge doesn't go light on the content front as the modes are engaging and the game is just filled with detail and sheer enjoyment due to how the smooth it plays.
Controls are responsive and don't take too long to master.
The graphics and animations do an excellent job of conveying a sense of realism to the game.
Having licensed teams such as the New Zealand All Blacks is a terrific addition.
Presentation is top notch and getting replays on key moments is greatly appreciated.
Its Just great that Mad Catz decided to bring this game to the United State, It an Must buy for any rugby fan Out there.
I was only passingly familiar with Rugby when I got my hands on Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge, but I had played a lot of sports games so I thought I would give it a try. I was happily surprised by the addictive gameplay, intuitive controls, and just plain fun that Rugby Challenge offers. If you don't know much about Rugby, imagine the violent unholy lovechild of a marriage between football and soccer. It's football without the armor. It's soccer with full-speed tackling. It's pretty awesome.
If you are familiar with xbox sports games, you will probably be able to skip the tutorials and dive right in. However, if you are not familiar with Rugby there is a lot to be gleaned from the tutorial levels. The tutorials are broken into basic, intermediate, advanced, and professional tiers, each with about 6-8 skills. These skills range from moving the ball down the field to rather complicated manuevers like rucks, scrums, and onside tossing. Unfamiliar with the basics of Rugby? The tutorials are also very useful for giving you a decent vocabulary and solid grasp for the mechanics of the game.
There are several game modes: single game, career, and multiplayer.
The single game allows you to select 2 teams and play as one of them against an AI opponent. Many rugby teams from around the world are assigned a score (100 point scale). I can't speak to the completeness of the offering, but I did find a lot of teams to choose between. I found this mode particularly useful to transition between tutorial and career because I could select a fairly robust team for myself (Crimson) and lesser team for the AI (Praetoria) and have a little wiggle room to try out what I learned in the tutorial. This wiggle room is not present in career on "normal"--it is a very challenging game.
The career mode starts you out as nobody and lets you rise to the ranks of superstar, if you're good. You'll need quick reflexes to beat a fairly smart AI. Theere are a few times when you want to shout at your AI teamates to get into a better position, or catch the ball, but for the most part friendly AI works well. There are no scripted "plays" or selcted offensive/defensive moves to assign to your team. Rugby involves a lot of tackling and short kicks to move the ball down field. As you earn money through your successes, you can unlock photos and features through an in-game shop.
Multiplayer works well. Finding a match was not a problem. Rugby Challenge should be well received in Europe (where Rugby is more popular), so I would think there will be a robust long-term community that builds up around this game.
I am not one to play a game with clunky or confusing controls (there are way too many great games out there): Rugby Challenge offers intuitive controls that let a newbie have fun immediately and at the same times gives players a deep experience that will challenge veterans for many hours of play.
The graphics are solid. I would say they are maybe not quite as glamorous as the latest Madden, but they are great looking locations, detailed stadiums, detailed players, neat presentation works well.
SUMMARY:
Whether you are new to Rugby or grew up playing it, Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge offers something to all fans of sports games. I rate this game 5-stars for "Fun" (very addicting, well paced game play). Overall I gave the game 4 stars because Rugby Challenge does lack some of the precise polish of major sports games. Additionally the lack of plays to call can also make coordinating your team a bit frustrating.
UPDATE: I found many more flaws with this game. The game play is simply not very realistic in regards to real rugby. I also find the career mode to be terribly boring after one season; you are given no opportunities to act like a true coach and add players, make plays etc.

I have only had this game for a little over 24 hours but I can say without a doubt that the developers have hit a homerun. It is so frustrating being a rugby fan in the United States because the availability for titles like this one are so limited. I finally got my hands on this game and it did not disappoint. The gameplay is fantastic, I love the trailing camera where it feels like you are in the line. I really think it is a huge imporvement over the old fashioned sideline camera. All the great teams are in it; the only teams and country that are not licensed is South Africa and their Super Rugby teams. As a southern hemisphere fan this should be the only title you pick up because on the other rugby game you can not play as the real All Black or Wallabies. The only problem I have with the game and why I gave it 4 stars is the passing can be glitchy at times. It seems like sometimes I need to push the pass button more than required.UPDATE: I found many more flaws with this game. The game play is simply not very realistic in regards to real rugby. Honest reviews on Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360
If this tackling was used in an american football video game it would not sell. The fact that it is an up to date rugby game is the best part of it. The game play is pretty bad, unrealistic passes, and the tackling is horrible. I was stocked when the game came in but after playing it, buying it for $60 is WAY to much. It is 2012, make a better game play rugby game. I'm ready to sell mine.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge - Xbox 360

Gamecube, PS2, XBox 3 in 1 Controller Adapter- Play your favorite Reviews
I bought the 3 in 1 Magic PC Joy Box to connect my Dance Dance Revolution dance mat for the Wii into my computer. After installing the driver from the manufacturer's website (the joy box is a rather old piece of hardware...after all, the driver packaged with the device is on a floppy disk), my dance pad worked...even on the Windows 7 platform! So, if you're using Vista or Windows 7, yes, the joy box will work with it.
My only complaint about it is that it has only one slot for each console (PS2, GameCube, XBOX). It would be helpful if it had 2 slots for each console considering the many games out there with multiplayer capabilities.
If you want to connect a GameCube controller to your computer, this is the easiest way to do it!
Note: I haven't tested the XBOX/PS2 controllers
So far I haven't been able to test the GC functionality, but I imagine it works as well as the PS2 and Xbox. These adapters are great for getting that "perfect" feel for retro gaming, and often these controllers are cheaper and easier to come by than their PC counterparts. So if you have a bunch of consoles at home, and want to use those same controllers on your PC, now you can. Of course one might argue that this means your controllers will wear out faster, but at least in the short run it will save you money and replacing them will be that much easier. Xbox controllers are harder to come by these days, but as of this writing, Gamecube controllers and Dual Shock 2's are still being sold brand new in stores (and not just the third party variants), because of the Wii's emulation of Gamecube and that the PS2 still has new games coming out for it.
I recommend this product, though there are other similar adapters out there for other needs (like if you want to use Saturn or Dreamcast controllers, or attach 4 ps2 or Xbox, etc controllers at once).
There is official software for this product posted on the mayflash website (it also comes with a mini-cd in the package, don't throw out that cardboard before you find it! though of course the website drivers are the most up to date). You can also download a free program called Joy2Key (which allows you to assign keyboard and mouse functions to joystick functions) if you are having problems getting your pads to work with a particular game or app. I haven't tested other types of controllers with this adapter, but usually these adapters are designed for the pads, sticks, dance mats and sometimes racing wheels. Other gimmicky controllers may not work (and lightguns will not work, especially since they usually require a CRT if you don't have one... but look up EMS, they make guns that will work with LCD, Plasma and projection).
Another thing I like about this adapter is that it has a fairly long cord, which functions like an extension to the console controller's wires. Like all USB devices it's plug and play. Some games though only work if you plug in the adapter after starting up the game (in conjunction to Joy2Key).

So far, I'm very impressed with this product. It allows you to connect an Xbox controller, Playstation 2 (or Playstation 1) controller and a Gamecube controller to your PC through USB. Review of Tropico 4
There aren't many reviews on this game so I will try to close the gap. This game is a city simulation game in the tradition of Simcity, where the gamer is given an island to run in the Caribbean -but the tone is much less serious and much more playful. It is the only such game that I know of for Xbox 360, other than earlier iterations of Tropico. The player must manage competing factions and make economic choices regarding how his island will run. The game offers a campaign mode of loosely connected scenarios and a sandbox mode.
The player can choose a single economy type or mix and match. Basic raw materials can be produced, including logs, ores such as gold or iron, farming products such as coffee or sugar, oil, or fish. Raw materials can in many cases be processed into higher grade items: e.g. logs into timber into furniture, gold into jewelry, sugar into rum, or tobacco into cigars. Tropico 4 adds some new industries such as weapons and chemical manufacturing. There are many examples of this, and new to Tropico 4 players may import raw goods for manufacturing a substantial change. Players may also develop a tourism industry, which is always fun and provides constant income.
As players manage their economy they must also feed (the marketplace actually works now!), educate, entertain, and police their citizens. This sometimes connects directly to the economy: farm goods can be consumed or sold, and educated citizens are required to operate more advanced industry. Various interest groups compete for attention the religious faction may want churches, communists want more apartments, and the military faction may want more soldiers but you may not be able to afford all of the above right away. If you have too many unhappy citizens it will lead to higher numbers of rebels, which you can fend off by building lots of soldiers or just appeasing your citizens. It sounds complicated, but it is easy to learn.
You also have an avatar, which you can use to shorten construction times or help in fights. New to Tropico 4 you develop and level up your character attributes rather than just picking them. For example, Level one administrator gives you +2% to commodity prices (along these lines anyway), if you complete a mission with it, you will have +4%. Maximum of 5 levels.
The biggest potential problem with a game like this is the controls. Tropico has been moderately successful because their controls actually work pretty well it could be quite a bit more successful, but I think the broader Xbox 360 community simply assumes that games of this type simply don't work for the Xbox. Yet menus are surprisingly intuitive, and managing your city proves quite doable. [The Tropico 3 menus were somewhat easier I preferred using the bumpers to switch between building types; in Tropico 4, you use the stick for both the type of building and the individual building. Using two different buttons somehow made the menus easier in Tropico 3. Yet it is perfectly manageable.]
This game does suffer some programming issues. I have not had a city crash on me, but I have had it get choppy after playing for a few hours. I have the most recent Xbox and installed the game, so I do not think it is Xbox's fault. Graphically this game features more Hawaii-like weather, with more rain and varied weather. It is very pretty, and makes you appreciate the sun. There are some new disasters which are quite visually attractive. The tone of the game is always playful and never takes itself too seriously the unique, parody-like feel of Tropico is one of its hallmarks.
This game is a step up from Tropico 3. Graphics are better and gameplay is more varied and with more options, but I do wish that there were some more substantial additions to gameplay. Imports change the game the most, and the maps are generally more spacious, but I'd have liked to see a deeper international relations and trade system, or perhaps more varied maps with the option to connect multiple islands together on the same map with bridges or ferries (think Venice or Indonesia like layout). Perhaps they could have added a more serious health system requiring management of different tropical diseases. Something to distinguish it more from Tropico 3. Yet too many changes and perhaps I would be complaining that it is too different (I loved Tropico 3!). The game already has just enough complexity to make it manageable too much more and it might just be too much.
This game would sell better if it wasn't released in such a difficult season (think Skyrim, G of W 3, MW3, Bfld 3, Rage, etc. -all released around the same time). Yet I do not believe it has gotten the attention it deserves. I am a bit of a nerd and have bought all of the new releases for this gaming season; I sell back the ones I don't like after playing them for a while. I will be hanging on to Tropico 4.
EDIT 6/23/12
Tropico 4 has a fair amount of DLC, most of it only fine, but recently a rather large DLC called "Modern Times" was released for 1200 MS points. This expansion is one of the best DLCs available for the price for any game. Offering a new campaign, spanning 12 full size missions, and adding lots of new buildings, "Modern Times" has gotten me back into Tropico 4. Some buildings are entirely new like the SWAT team building or the new 7-Star Hotel, others replace the old buildings like the modern apartment building or the organic ranch. Each alter game play, and makes the game feel brand new. The population limit has been raised, and larger populations are much easier to manage with the new buildings. One scene had me watching the fireworks from "National Day" over new office buildings and skyscrapers, while dozens of balloons floated in when I enacted the brand new "balloon day" edict. It is well worth the money, and makes Tropico 4 feel like a true sequel to Tropico 3.
Tropico 4 by Haeminot Games has never been one to fool an audience. Tropico is real time simulator, which barrows many elements from Sim City, but brings many elements that aren't found in genre and help make it what it is today. One of the things that your easily going to like about the game is you are not invisible. Unlike other games, the citizens of Tropico Island dearly note your actions. If you end up acting like Fidel Castro, the citizens on the island will start a revolution (VIVA LA REVOULTION). Sooner or later, your military will have to suppress the uprising or else the citizen will over throw you from government.
When I first started playing Tropico 4, I killed every protester, let in ever immigrant and didn't supply enough housing for my citizens. Fast-forwarding three years in my el presidente term, my days were numbered with every citizen on the island trying to gun me down. It's these moments that make the series stand out because your actions have deep ramifications and help create a unique experience for yourself. My only gripe with this is I wish this was expanded on in the in the Modern Times expansion.
Tropico 4 finally welcomes it's self into the 21st century with the latest expansion called Modern Times and with that comes the latest goodies. New building, taller landmarks and a more traditional look that make cities resemble with what you are currently living in. If you think it was impressive how Tom Cruise scaled the tallest tower in the world in Dubai, then it's easily to do so (if you have the money of course) to create your own 21st century empire. Along with updated buildings, real time simulator fans will greatly appreciate the curved roads options to adequately customize your city. All together however, the look just feels like fancy re skin. Don't get me wrong, modern times gives the player more options from the outset and I love what it brings to the table, but the expansion fails to fix problem found in the original game.
The presentation values in Tropico 4: Modern Times are one of the biggest disappointments about the game. Either it's the Xbox 360 or the game it's self, the regardless of amount of time you spent ruling the city as el presidente. Tropico 4 fails to create a living breathing city, even though it dose a lot of things right with customizable buildings, eco friendly options and etc, but it miss a crucial part.
Citizens on Tropico Island won't appear on screen, even though you have a huge population in your city. Now to a certain extent the game dose do this, with the citizen's frequently revolting and sparking revolutions on the island, but it's still very few and far between. I wanted to see my citizens in my town crowded together, or see mass traffic jams due to the amount people on the island. For this reason alone, I felt kicked back from the experience and never was fully immersed.
Besides personal problems, the user interface on the Xbox 360 is still behind where it should be. Organize and micromanaging your city can be troublesome and frankly a pain to create your city to your liking. Rotating objects isn't as automatic as it should be, but it's still doable none else. What is going annoy most players is the of lack on screen guidance. Placing a farm in the right area can be a difficult for some because it doesn't explain what you should be aiming for and what to avoid. Now the game dose have a great tutorial system, but outside the tutorial system the game fails to teach you the proper success.
Modern Times is a good addition to the Tropico series, but the expansion still has the same mistakes. It's great that the Tropico 4 made the jump to the 21st century, but it's almost to little to late at this point. When you start digging and finding out what the expansion is all about. You will still see a game that has great potential, but is squandered by mistakes.
So for this 40 year old kid at heart I say go for it and enjoy that Xbox, not just for kids anymore thanks to Tropico 4!

I was a big fan of Tropico 3, while it took a while to learn and was a little 'convoluted' in some of the controls. This version is much like Tropico 3, but it seems like they have improved on some of the control issues and made it much easier to learn with a very useful tutorial. Over all, it hasn't changed that much since the last version but it is still very enjoyable. If you have not played older versions, then it may still take a while to catch on, but I find it addicting. I bought this out right because I knew I would like itbut if you have never played before it is certainly worth (at least) a rent before you buy.Best Deals for Tropico 4
I am a big fan of Tropico 3 and spent many many hours playing it. Tropico 4 is virtually Tropico 3 with a large overhaul. The game is in HD, so the graphics are better. Most all of the buildings from Tropico 3 are in Tropico 4, but there are a lot of new ones, including the buildings that was on the computer expansion pack from Tropico 3 that never came out for the console version. Tropico 4 has a lot more government needs that will keep you busy through out your play time. The game is also more user friendly compared to Tropico 3. Some times the fine print is still hard to read but it has gotten better. If you like city building games then Tropico 4 is a great buy.Honest reviews on Tropico 4
It's long been a figure of our imagination to create things to our liking. From stacking countless Lego bricks to make your own personal metropolis, to digital animation used today; or you could choose to avoid the building process entirely and become an el presidente and terrorize the citizens of Tropico Island. The options are up to you for what you want to create.Tropico 4 by Haeminot Games has never been one to fool an audience.

Sometimes the sequels to games are not as good as the original. This is not the case with Tropico 4. I played Tropico on my PC. Missed 2 and 3, when a good sale came up I discovered this for the Xbox, and now fight with the kids for time on the Xbox! The first reviewer did a great job of summarizing what you have to do which is basically build an island, economy, people, housing, industry, transportation, and government. The graphics are great IMO. I love SIM games so this is right up my alley. My kids don't seem too interested, but my son is more the "shooter games" type, and my daughter is really not into games at all.So for this 40 year old kid at heart I say go for it and enjoy that Xbox, not just for kids anymore thanks to Tropico 4!

Discount NASCAR Kart Racing - Nintendo Wii
In last few years, this is the only good kart game that is not developed by Nintendo. Perfect blend of Nascar and Kart racing. The game includes a wide set of teams and drivers. Developers have done justification for both Kart racing and Nascar. Just only one oval track, rest of them are kart styled ones. The game from out side may look like a poor mans Mario Kart, it is not. Similar to actual Nascar bump drafting, you can get a power boost by following another car closely.
You will get very good mileage too. There is 12 tracks, all bi-directional. All of them are well suited for multi-player modes. It includes a wide assortment of multi-player modes too. The controls are perfect, I am very amazed by the accuracy. You can use your wheel or just regular controller set to play the game. Graphics are in par with Mario Kart. This is better than all the other nascar games that EA has published, a welcome change.
NASCAR Kart Racing features teammate gameplay, where you work with a computer-controlled teammate to build boost and perform a slingshot maneuver. This is a simplified, arcade version of the drafting that happens in real-world NASCAR races, and it adds a nice NASCAR flair while helping differentiate the game from Mario Kart.
The game controls very well, whether with the Wii Wheel, Wii Remote with Nunchuck, or GameCube controller. (It also supports the classic controller, but I haven't tried it.) The tracks are also well designed, with jumps, shortcuts, and a few other surprises (such as falling rocks that you have to dodge). Oh yeah, and right turns. Lots of right turns.
This is also a great game to play with friends and family. Split-screen multiplayer is a trash-talking, rocket-throwing, rollicking good time.

Anyone who begins a review with something such as "I put it back in the box after only ten minutes" is a knee-jerk gaming dolt. We want a review, not a cheap opinion. Dr. B offers very little in his negative rating. I agree that there may be a few superficially high ratings here, but it is evident that he, and a few others, have not played the game very much. The graphics and controls are fine, though the graphics indeed suffer in 3-4 player mode. There are three difficulty levels, and a myriad of unlockable tracks and trophies. You will discover that if you attempt to unlock all of the tracks that there are several extremely difficult "challenges" that can require several hours or even days to surpass; thus you may need to seek some advice or "cheats" to complete a series. So what if there is a similarity with Mario Kart? The weapons, etc., are well suited to the Nascar theme. The cheap critics pan the game as similar to Mario Kart and the rip its most distinctive attribute as "stupid." As others have maintained, the team concept makes this game remarkably unique and enjoyable. My kids have played it since the day it was released and have not grown tired of it, or Mario Kart. In fact, one could make a good argument that both Nascar and Mario Kart are must-haves for the Wii.Best Deals for NASCAR Kart Racing - Nintendo Wii
I enjoyed this game a lot. It's a real solid racer. It borrows a lot from Mario Kart, but if you're going to mimic someone, then you should mimic the best. NASCAR Kart Racing has a lot of NASCAR personality. I played this game with my family all weekend and we had a really good time. The controls felt really good to me too. Good job EA.Honest reviews on NASCAR Kart Racing - Nintendo Wii
Nascar Kart Racing has a very small learning curve, so you can start racing right away. It's more like Mario Kart with Nascar drivers than a true Nascar simulation. The tracks are fun to race on, with only one oval track Talladega. Other tracks are partially familiar, Dover and Bristol, but have been modified quite a bit. With 3 difficulty levels, 4 player racing, and reverse tracks, it's fun for players of any age group.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for NASCAR Kart Racing - Nintendo Wii
This game is fun ... really, really fun. I actually enjoy it slightly more than Mario Kart Wii. That may sound blasphemous to some, but the AI in Mario Kart Wii can be controller-throwingly cheap and frustrating. With NASCAR Kart Racing, the AI seems much fairer, while still providing a fun challenge. As another reviewer said, playing against the AI feels like playing with other people.NASCAR Kart Racing features teammate gameplay, where you work with a computer-controlled teammate to build boost and perform a slingshot maneuver. Reviews of Unreal Tournament III - Xbox 360
UT3 is probably the fastest FPS on the consoles at this time. With lightning fast gameplay and stunning visuals. I only noticed very minor texture pop ins and the occasional framerate dips but really I'm being nitpicky here, UT3 looks and plays fantastic, near perfection for it's style of gameplay and probably the best looking, best performing game currently on the 360 to date.
With the addition of 5 New Maps for the 360 version, 3 of which are wholly new and 2 are reinvisioned versions of the PS3/PC version with Necris themes. All of the maps look quite good and some are fantastic looking.
I've noticed that they improved the 360's version , by tweaking the core controls with a 'minor' aim assist , I noticed that the bullets track a little better and behave more realisticly. I don't prefer aim assist myself ,BUT , I will say the 360 version is the most refined version yet ,aside from the HUGE GAP ,of not supporting user created mods, it is the most polished port.
The split-screen is fun,if your into that, UT3 360 supports split-screen online multi,co-op,local,and System Link. (no split-screen ranked matches though)
All DLC that's available for the PS3 is included in the 360 version (ASIDE FROM USER created mods)
(If your still into UT 'fast twitch'style gameplay)
The multiplayer is liquid fast and fun, with Game Modes DeathMatch ,Team DeathMatch,CTF,Vehicle CTF,Duel, and last but not least Warfare which is a team based mode involving Capturing and linking together 'nodes' with your orbs ,so you can destroy the enemies core. Warfare adds a little strategy to the twitch gameplay mechanics of UT3.
UT3 is so fast,so frenetic , you'll barely have time to come up for air .
I was playing UT3 for about 7 hours and didn't even realize it, there's definitely no down times in UT3.
The single player campaign ,is little more than glorified BOT matches, but that's not such a bad thing as the enemy AI are really about as close as you can get to real humans, (sometimes better) especially on the harder settings.
There isn't much of a story in the campaign, but that's ok I don't wanna watch a bunch of mini-movies anyways. But It would've been nice to have a deeper 'in-game' story mode, instead you get the occasional little cutscenes in between matches. AT least you have access to all online matches offline as well. Some of the MAPS are absolutley stunning as you progress into the game, these maps by far look superior to just about any game on the 360. There were quite a few 'jaw dropping' moments in the maps. When EPIC said in there early interviews with various magazines that UT3 'makes Gears look ugly' , They weren't kidding. But the comparison ends there, don't expect a Gears style cover system. UT3 is pure unadulterated lightning fast gameplay. I can't get over how fast this game performs. Other games like Gears,RSV, move at snails pace compared to this game, its insanely fast. You know some games slow down your player to help the graphics perform better, BUT UT3 , turns the dial past 11 and it still looks smooth as butter.
Switching weapons are mapped to the RB and LB respectively and of course all have some form of alternate fire (LT),
at first I would've preferred a quicker layout of weapon toggle, BUT , the controls are really easy for any 360 FPS veteran ,you shouldn't have any problems jumping right in and playing.
The vehicles all drive and perform closely to Halo's Warthog ,there quite easy and intuitive as well ,with a little learning curve ,that's a perfect time to check out the campaign's offline BOT matches to hone up your skills for online.Especially sharpening your skills for capturing nodes and learning the best routes in the maps. There's also tons of unique flying vehicles .
UT3 is a fantastic game on the 360 ,with the only real downside to the 360 version is the lack of 'user created mods' and the lack of a 'real' story in the campaign , BUT THERE IS TONS of game content offline with the BOTS.
I've seen from interviews from EPIC you can expect some solution for user created mods most likely in the form of DLC ? who knows? . But the 360 is so meaty ,so full of game content it really is an exciting game and the lack of user created mods should'nt detour you from picking up a copy for yourself. If your looking for a deep single player story campaign and don't have LIVE access I would suggest renting it first, as there's no real deep story here ,BUT , even offline the BOT matches can be fun. There's just no match though for human counterparts online,UT3 true shining feature is the Multi-player and it's one of the best looking ,best performing games on the 360 to date, if not THE BEST.
I got through the camapaign's single player in about 17 hours. I gotta admit the BOTS are extremely impressive on the harder settings and you get (8) difficulty settings from Novice to Godlike. Trust me these BOTS will test even the most skilled players. You can even play 'instant action' offline ,and manually set Bot skill levels, number of combatants,Goal Score,Time Limit,Opposing Bot Faction, and Force Respawn toggle. WOW what can I say ,stuff usually reserved for online play only is ALL available to the non-LIVE players. Very nice indeed.
Overall UT3 is much better than I had expected. EPIC really knows what there doing when it comes to Unreal Tournament style gameplay and they tweaked the 360 to its maxium limits and to my surprise ,the game is exceptionally smooth, clean, and fast paced with out so much as a hiccup or a very rare framedrop on the 360. Definitley pick this game up a very, very solid FPS.
PEACE
All the UT favorite weapons are here, the nuclear redeemer, sniper rifle, shock rifle, flak cannon, and bio gun. Sadly the only one that's missing is The Ripper, which used to shoot saw blades and had an alternate fire option that would let you bounce them off walls and around corners. As in the PC version the Redeemer can be fired guided or unguided, and you bet you can use the alt fire on a shock rifle to launch a ball of plasma that you can then shoot to cause an explosion.
The game includes many multiplayer maps to choose from including an updated version of the classic Deck 16! You can play these via system link or on Xbox Live. Maps are beautiful in HD and play like greased lightening on Live. No more tactical sorts of slow moving action or rechargeable shields. Its a welcome return to old school twitch gaming previously only seen on the PC. You need to earn your armor and fight for health packs to stay alive. There's many game types to have hours and hours of fun which including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, CTF and a couple of new variations like "Warfare" and a one on one "Duel" mode.
The interface for multipayer hosting is very much like the original Unreal Tournament where you can make a subset of the list of maps and arrange them in any order you'd like to play them in and the game will automatically queue them up. The manual also mentions being able to add "Mutators" to the game, like the original, though I've not played with that option yet.
UT3 also includes a single player campaign that can be played either as a single player or in a co-op format with friends. For the most part the campaign mode is designed as a collection of the different multiplayer game formats and more like a tutorial on how to play the different game types simulating online play with bots. It's fun but it's not where the real action in UT3 is, which is online multiplayer playing against real thinking people. You will, however, learn about many of the new game types and features like the numerous new vehicles that are available. There are flying craft, tanks, and even war of the worlds style tripod walkers.
Graphically the game has a similar look to Gears of War, but is much cleaner and sharper. Depth of picture on a 1080i HDTV is amazing. I've played on Live with my settings all set to max and encountered no issues with frame rates or slowing. Like the original PC version it runs like greased lightening but also looks amazing.
If you're into old school, high action, fast paced, online multiplayer fragfests THIS is the game for you. If you're into slower paced duck and cover strategy gameplay this probably won't be for you. Fans of the original Unreal Tournament will enjoy it.
This game will have you hooked. It is super fun, and the gameplay on plasmas and lcd screens is amazing. There are LOTS of things to do, including the main campaign, and random fun instant action levels.
NOTE: The best part about this game is that the initial campaign is basically just a training mode to get you online (great idea!). The game is designed for online play. So, by just going through the campaign and having fun, you are now ready to hook up Xbox live and you'll fit right in.
The 1up.com review of a "C" grade is absurd, and I've read it. If only because every reviewer is comparing it to all the other releases dating back years and years. As a new player to this great xbox 360 game, I was very impressed.
IMO, this beats Halo 3 in a heartbeat. Why? Because there are, among others, two specific 'mutators' (which modify the game play) that you can turn on together. One is Speed Freak, and the other in Low Gravity. Now, imagine this. Playing the fastest Xbox 360 character ever made, and then being able to jump the equivalent of about 300 feet in the air while looking down at flying machines, tanks, other aliens and firing your crazy alien gun at everything! THAT is what I call fun. I put Halo 3 away, and simply love hosting matches with these mutators on.
This is by far one of the years most underrated games, without a doubt. The 'maps' that you can play are beautiful. There's something for everybody here, trust me.
Kids LOVE it! (Forget the M rating, it's ridiculous, and based on a few bad words ONLY in the campaign) And older dads will love this too. Plus, the best part is that there are no Halo 3 GODS for the most part. Meaning that when you join Halo 3 online, you usually get clobbered. With Unreal Tournament 3, I've met some of the nicer people online, and there is plenty of space for the average gamer to grow his/her talent, including the BOTS that you can set up in "Novice" mode to help you along.
This is a GREAT game, and I only wish the gamer magazines would've reviewed this with fresh eyes specifically for the Xbox 360.
I've been a big Unreal fan since the first game, and this one doesn't disappoint. As the previous reviewer said, the graphics are stunning in 1080p and I have noticed no texture pop-in or frame rate hiccups in the single player campaign. Online, I've found a few games that lag a bit, but the great thing is that Epic hosts dedicated servers for this game. Those don't lag at all, and that's just friggin' sweet.
I adjusted the turn sensitivity all the way up and this game is smokin' fast. The action is nonstop and plays out at a breakneck pace online. This is the fastest FPS you'll ever play on a console and the whole thing runs without a single hiccup. Epic did an awesome job optimizing this for 360.
The controls are almost flawless. The only things I don't like are that (1) you have to hold the D-pad right to voice chat. That's a pain when the pace is so fast, and (2) you can only cycle weapons forward (using RB). The LB brings up a radial menu that you can select weapons from, but again, with the pace as fast as it is, this will get you fragged over and over again. You'll just be mashing the RB as you cycle through weapons. Let's just hope that you don't miss that Flak cannon because if you do, you'll be cycling through them all again.
Online is the way to play, as the single player campaign is dry and little more than a series of tutorials. The warfare mode is totally awesome online. This is the mode to play. Also Vehicle Capture the Flag is freakin' sweet too. Team deathmatch is my favorite. Matches go to 300 kills and when you've got 16 people fragging each other on a small map the action is literally non-stop.
Sucks that there's no Modding or User Generated Content, but I'm sure there will be DLC on the marketplace. Epic even said they might develop and release the most popular maps that users have generated. I'm not holding my breath for that, but I'm sure there will be at least some DLC, and there are alread tons of maps to play.
Final words: Buy it, and meet me online.
With the addition of 5 New Maps for the 360 version, 3 of which are wholly new and 2 are reinvisioned versions of the PS3/PC version with Necris themes. All of the maps look quite good and some are fantastic looking.

Ahhh! Finally a 360 game that measures up to the original PC version of Unreal Tournament. It's lightening fast, gorgeous, and like greeting an old friend. All the UT favorite weapons are here, the nuclear redeemer, sniper rifle, shock rifle, flak cannon, and bio gun. It seems that most people I've talked too are/were very familiar with all of the old computer versions of Unreal. But my review is for the Xbox 360, which, like many of us, had never played any version up until buying this one for the 360.This game will have you hooked.

I'll admit I was waiting for the Xbox 360 verson because all my friends have Live. Of course, this game is optimal on PC, but it is still pretty darn awesome on Xbox.I've been a big Unreal fan since the first game, and this one doesn't disappoint.

First of all to the bad reviews, I think these people are only upset because it IS NOT the america's next top model that you see on tv. sure there is no tv or mrs and mr jay or anyone normal but it is still models getting fit, eating, and battling with eachother to to win. each week your names get called and someone gets eliminated. the game is really fun. you can go shopping, get in fights, actually trip on the catwalk/runway if u mess up, and its very realistic as far as what you can do. everyday your model has to eat and workout and dress differently. u can do her hair and it is very fun. even challenging at some points because u have to find people around the villa and it gets hard. BUT i love it. Even if you are expecting Tyra and everyone else this game still has the same concept. And the model is easy to control with the nunchuck. I personally love it and there are people everywhere to talk to. FYI, im 19 :)
I published this and had to come back and place some pros and cons. (may repeat from above)
PROS
You can fight physically.
Make friends or enemies
There is endless number of people to talk to
So many different clothes to buy and you gain money fast (eventually)
She actually walks like a model
On the catwalk, it's realistic. You walk down and up and can trip or stumble
You can always do your hair/makeup over again
You can eat free int he kitchen which does or doesn't take away from your fitness (choices)
Borrow clothes from other models.
go through an eliminating process
CONS
She walks slow, and runs slow too
Wont run when low on food, energy
Voice is annoying (nancy drew)
No where to really go except the city and house
Working out is hard; I still cant figure out the controls. You have to keep shaking the controllers.
You get hungry after doing pretty much anything. Sleeping, walking, hair, makeup, etc. So you have to stay int he gym and kitchen

F.E.A.R. Platinum Collection: The Complete Trilogy - PC Reviews
This is one of the best shooters I've ever played, well, make that THREE of the best shooters I've ever played. Controls were responsive, overall it was quite "spooky," the only complaints I have were that at certain parts of each game there are "bottlenecks" that are frustratingly difficult to get past and result in destroying the fun of the game. The environments are also very similar for all three games, nothing really exotic and fairly repetitive. The storyline is definitely A+ though. I highly recommend this bundle!
This includes the director's edition of F.E.A.R., which comes on a DVD (as opposed to several CDs) and includes some extra features.
I'm going to do a quick and dirty list type review below using: 1 poor, 2 Bad, 3 Average, 4 Good, 5 Excellent. Also bear in mind I am using Half-life 1 & 2 as a benchmark... if you haven't played those, you should!
Story: Good
The story is fun and entertaining, although I'm not entirely sure I'm grasping the mesh of story lines that the developers intended. First Person Shooter Spec-Ops marines meets the Supernatural ala The Ring? Plays fun enough however.
Control: Excellent
The controls are standard W,A,S,D with a few extras... Flashlight, Leaning, etc. Plays like it belongs on the computer, not like a tragic port from a console. (ex: Halo (which I enjoyed on the xbox!))
Graphics: Excellent
I am rating the graphics as excellent based on the fact that some of the other FPS games currently on the market have phenominal over-the-top WOOHOO graphics, however no one has a machine capable of actually playing them! (ex: Crysis)
Single player: Excellent
So far this game has been extremely fun and the A.I. is incredibly smart at points. Some of the map design is obviously leaning in the A.I.'s favor, for example a lot of the rooms and buildings always have two ways around and the A.I. knows it when assaulting you, but that's okay they need the help as far as I'm concerned. :) If you are an experienced FPS player just start out on hard, moderate isn't worth your time and effort.
Multiplayer: Unknown
Sorry, I haven't tried... yet. I'm not really itching to try it either. There are games out there that are made for multiplayer (Team Fortress 2, Tribes, Battlefield). I prefer to have a few games where I don't have to rely on my internet connection to play.
Hope this helps someone out there. The game has been out for 3 years, but I am happy I waited and scooped it all up in one fell swoop for $30! I gave the game 4 stars due to the odd story line, and there are better plots out there, even for FPS games... no, seriously, there is! LOL!

After taking a long break from PC video games, I decided to try again, and found this title. The reviews seemed interesting, and since it contained the whole trilogy, I thought it would be worth the money. I must say that I was impressed with the graphics. I have since played Quake 4, and Fear's graphics were superior. (Vista, Duo Core, XFX 8600 GT 512mb, 2GB Ram). This game does get scary at times. Although you will most likely find a bit of a repetitive feel to it, it holds your attention. If you are into single player modes like I am, this will keep you busy for a while.Best Deals for F.E.A.R. Platinum Collection: The Complete Trilogy - PC
F.E.A.R. is a very fun game. The levels are a bit repetitive, but the great enemy AI makes up for that. Replay value is ok (there are things you miss the first time through; that and the different difficulty levels mean you might get maybe 2 or 3 replays out of it). Haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I like the fact that friends who don't have the full game can get the multiplayer component for free. I also haven't tried either expansion pack yet. This includes the director's edition of F.E.A.R., which comes on a DVD (as opposed to several CDs) and includes some extra features.

The Sims 3: Ambitions Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $29.99
Sale Price: $28.24
Today's Bonus: 6% Off

I have been playing Sims since The Sims 2 was released and I haven't felt much excitement playing The Sims 3 until I bought a copy of The Sims 3: Ambitions. I, too, became quickly bored with World Adventures, and was hoping this new expansion was a bit more substantial than the last. When I was through with my first 8-hour game-play session with Ambitions, I was left with a new-found love of the Sims and also some new gripes.
First, I must say that I loved going through the Stylist Profession and liked that I did not complete the whole entire profession in one gaming binge. I enjoyed being actively involved in my Sims' career path and I enjoyed making Sims over. I personally have a lot of custom content installed and the residents of my town ended up getting much-needed styling. The most valuable new addition in this profession was the new hair options for men. (Previously, I repeatedly used the same hairstyle for many male Sims, as I hated all the other styles and custom hair for men is not abundantly available.) There are several new hair options for female Sims as well, but I don't use them since I have so many custom options that are much more attractive. While you do only receive 2-3 job opportunities per work day as a stylist, you can go back to the salon once you complete those opportunities and continue to style other Sims to gain job experience, and you can also buy a drafting table for your Sim to research new design ideas and further increase your job experience, which allows you to be promoted.
Active participation in professions is very time consuming, which I love and am annoyed by at the same time. Like the reviewer before me stated, if you have multiple Sims in your household, there isn't really much time in a day to be actively involved in their lives when you are so busy with your Sim with an active profession. I found myself only tending to my other Sims' needs when my Stylist Sim had a day off. If there is a way to send your Sim to their Ambitions profession and turn off the active involvement for a period of time, I have not found it yet, and it's been impossible for me to fulfill opportunities for other Sims in the household when my one professional Sim is always busy. This is my biggest gripe about Ambitions so far, but compared to World Adventures and The Sims 3 base game, this expansion is quite impressive.
I also added a SimBot to my household. I did not have an issue with my SimBot breaking thingsin fact, she repairs everything that breaks and came to my household with a good amount of Handiness skill. This SimBot is a robot that you can control just like any other Sim, but the robot has different and interesting needs.
Another thing I love about this new expansion pack is that it contains elements of Open for Business from The Sims 2. For example, my child Sim can make numerous baked goods using his toy oven and sell them at a newly-purchasable baked good stand in front of the house, and anything your Sim creates can be sold for good money (depending on your skill level) at the consignment shop. You can also choose to be self-employed and make good money fishing, farming, sculpting, painting, and more, and I really enjoy the options that this new expansion pack allows for.
Overall:
This is definitely a major improvement over World Adventures, and I think this new expansion pack allows for a more active and engaging gaming experience, which I personally like, aside from the fact that I am alienating my other Sims. I think this EP was worth the money because of how it changes game-play and doesn't just add new items, interactions, and wishes as some other EPs have done. I can't wait to explore more professions, and hopefully there will be more available to us all in the future. Happy Simming!
As for the careers, I started off with the new architect career since I love to build houses. It seems more like an interior designer career to me. All of the jobs were to redo some particular room so there was very little building to do. This may change after a while but it got boring doing the same types of rooms over and over so I moved on.
Next, I tried the ghost hunter. Again, this was a lot of fun in the beginning but I soon realized that I get the same types of jobs over and over. There are about 5 different types of jobs for your ghost hunter sim to perform. These range from collecting "casper" looking spirits to investigating paranormal activity inside the rabbit holes around town. This career got boring fast too. You do the same types of jobs over and over and you only get maybe 2 or three jobs each night. I had my sim do these and he was back home way before his job time was supposed to be over. Also, it didn't take me very long to reach the top of the career.
After I had been ghost hunting a while, I got my sim hitched to a sim lady who registered as a self employed sculptor. This is probably my favorite of the careers I have tried so far. She sculpts some pretty cool looking statues after her skill gets high enough. When she first started, she was sculpting chairs, toilets, and other household items and it was pretty humorous to see these. I like that she starts out with a big block of whichever material I choose for her to use (clay, topiary, wood, ice, etc.) and I get a nice surprise when she finishes. If you want a particular sculpture, you can have your sim sulpt it if he or she has already learned to make. After my sim's skill was high enough, the sculptures sell for a high simolean price too. So, between her sculptures and my ghost hunter's salary plus selling spirits to the Science Lab, they got pretty rich rather quickly.
My sculptor's lifetime wish is to maximiaze her painting, sculpting and inventing skills so I also have an inventor's table. Most of the stuff that she has invented is useless crap that you can sit around your house as nothing more than decoration (like a bobbing llama head that drinks). She has invented the digger thing but it woke up everyone in the house when I tried to use it and then the hole only had scrap in it. The digger may prove to be interesting though from what I've seen in videos online.
The only other career I have tried so far is the stylist and I hated it. I created a stylist to be married to my architect. Each time she offers to give a makeover to another sim, it opens a new CAS window where you style the sim however they request (new makeup, new hairstyle, new everyday wear, etc.). At the start of this career, no matter what I chose in CAS, the sim always came out looking horrible. It got on my nerves so I gave up on it very quickly. I don't see the point of doing anything to them if they are just going to come out looking bad.
I haven't tried any of the other careers yet. I did get a simbot and it annoys me. The sim couple had a baby and it would always go get it out of the crib, even if it was sleeping. The baby has been pretty cranky with this thing around. The sim babies have always kind of worked my nerves anyways but they are necessary if you want to play a family but they really are annoying with this thing around unless I watch him and make him leave the kid alone so it can get some sleep. It's handy to have it do the laundry and some cleaning but it keeps breaking stuff in the house when I try to have it do upgrades. It's handiness skill is high but it always breaks whatever it's working on so I hate the thing. It just kind of gets in the way.
One thing that did surprise me and I thought was a nice touch is that as your sims progress in their careers, they will get a notification that the mayor is honoring them at city hall. If they make it there in time, they get medals, commemorative plaques or even keys to the city. My ghost hunter even received something that looks like a small graveyard. It's really kind of cool looking. I forget what it's called though. I do think that the recogonition for outstanding work is pretty cool and it was totally unexpected for me.
All in all, this EP is kind of fun but it is VERY repetitive and I can see it getting old fast. There were not very many new items which adds to the sims everyday lives. There is the laundry system, trampoline and a couple of other things though. Oh, and the "Curly" hair that you get when you register the game is horrid!
If you like the new task oriented sims that it seems we have to live with now, you'll like this. As for me, I really wish they would give us an EP that gives the sims more open activities like some of the EP's of the past (Nightlife, please!). I don't care for this new style of play that the EA Sims team keeps coming up with. I miss the days of the open ended gameplay. Sure, it got repetitive too but I at least controlled more of the sims lives than I do now and that was what I liked about it. I mean the game is called The SIMS, it should focus on SIMS and not a pretty new town or repetitive tasks that are far too easy and get way too boring way too fast. For the way the Sims has now progressed (whether I like it or not) this is a decent expansion. I can have my sims do the painting, sculpting, writing, etc. and register them as self employed and still get some fun out of it though so it's not completely horrible for me either.
Basically, like the previous installments of the sims 3, this EP is little more than a rehash of a previous one-in this case, Open For Business. Sadly though, it doesn't really play as well. If you are interested in crafting and selling items, instead of opening up your own store, You send your items to a consignment shop, which in turn sells your items, and gives you a cut of the money earned.
The new "Professions", as they are called in game, are interesting enough; inventor, sculptor, fire fighter, Private investigator, Stylist, architect, tattoo artist, Paranormal investigator. There might be a couple more, but these are the ones I explored in any real detail. As I said, the professions seemed interesting, at first. The new items for use in increasing your skills for each profession were also fairly neat. But the professions themselves are a bit of a letdown. For Jobs that require you to gather information, or hunt in some fashion, all you really do is run from lot to lot, trying to fulfill certain requirements, in order to get to the next step of the assignment, much like the quests in WA. After the first couple of jobs, it gets very repetitive. For the more creative professions, you spend most of your time crafting or designing. Again, interesting at first, but after your 3rd or fourth tattoo or hair appointment, it gets pretty boring.
Adding this to the severely limited amount of time in a Sim day, and what was already a hectic game of time management for your sims, becomes a race against the clock to get anything done at all. It didn't really make for an enjoyable time.
However, there are a couple of bright spots in this EP, so all is not lost. The inventor profession has some fairly cool items you can make: Mining equipment for drilling large holes in the ground; a fruit vaccuum to make harvesting a bit easier; the time machine is actually a kind of neat addition to the the existing rabbit holes. For sculpting, I didn't play around too much, but I did get to the point where I had several materials to choose from in the creation of each sculpture, as well as the ability to sculpt other sims, which again was kind of neat. The idea of the tattoo station was neat, and once CC creators get working on designs, we may see some really great options for tattoos.
The best part of the EP though, is the new town, Twinbrook. It is well put together, and I prefer it over both Sunset Valley and Riverview. It showcases all of the new Profession related lots quite nicely. wandering around the town was much more fun than much of the actual gameplay.
So, all in all this EP was ok, but for me, it really didn't live up to the promise. If you enjoyed the quest based gameplay in WA, you will probably enjoy this EP as well. If you were looking for a little more freedom of gameplay, this isn't quite it.
J
There is also an unfinished quality to the game. While I enjoyed the addition of the new traits, I didn't find anything really exceptional about most of the content. The careers I play tested (ghost hunter and fireman) were dull.
I will keep playing sims 3 ambitions, but I wasn't loving it like I liked the expansions for Sims 2.

I got my game delivered on Friday, May 28 and was very excited to get it installed and start playing. This really looked like it would be a ton of fun and it was at first. The new town that you get with this expansion, Twinbrook, is beautiful. The EA Sims team did a wonderful job creating this new town. There are lots of new things to see (I really like the "swampy" area, it's kinda creepy and spooky). They also added several new items with this expansion and I think the new laundry system adds some more realism to the game.

I suppose by now I should know better. The second expansion pack for the Sims 3 promised great things, much like both the base game, and World Adventures. Like both, it fails to truly deliver.Basically, like the previous installments of the sims 3, this EP is little more than a rehash of a previous one-in this case, Open For Business.

Honest reviews on The Sims 3: Ambitions
This game is a LOT like World Adventures. The Sims 3 is becoming less and less like it's predecessors, because it is changing from controling a family to having to focus in on 1 sim. You can't focus on your other sims while your sim is doing 1 of the new "professions". The new jobs are fun at first but get boring with the same thing over and over again. There is a lot of community requested features in the game that make it more fun and realistic, like the laundry system. You can now also own any community lot to make money off it. That is fun too, but you can't have traditional employees or really work on the lot unless you are cleaning up plates, puddles, and trash. I would say if you don't like World Adventures, skip this one.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for The Sims 3: Ambitions
I play Sims 3 almost exclusively these days and I was looking forward to the expansion and the new professions. Unfortunately, I felt ambitions was rather lacking. While I like the new careers, I felt it was annoying to have to follow 1 sim around and leave the other sims unattended without a time stop feature. This is really tough if you have more than 1 sim in your house, as stuff happens while you are away. I also didn't like the missions. Banishing ghosts just requires you go to a house and point and click. There is no particular challenge or skill involved. And while you do this, your sims household is left unattended. The difficulty does ramp up after a while, so all is not lost, however, I just didn't find it enjoyable to miss out on the household fun, while 1 sim was out doing a mindless job. I would've like a 'time stop feature' which would freeze the current house and let you get back to it, and let the other sim return when done so that you can enjoy both things.

Xbox 360 3-In-1 Power Kit Reviews
Ordered this to be a Christmas gift. I was so happy to get the box, but when I opened it....it wasn't even the right thing. Something completely different ( a fan for an original xbox). Contacted them and they said they would send me the real thing I ordered, no extra $, and I could keep the fan for free (even though its useless and is still in the package as I'm typing this almost 2 months later).
So I waited and waited and I knew it wasn't coming before Christmas so I had to file a claim and get my money back. First time ordering from this company and I am not impressed by them. They were very polite and that was nice of them, but the actual service is "iffy".

Reviews of Bluetooth Wireless Headset For Sony Playstation 3 PS3

This headset is probably the best value for $20 if you're just wanting to voice-chat with other players online. It is VERY responsive and very clear on default settings. I suggest you lower the output volume via PS3 "Manage Audio Devices" settings (somewhere on the XMB screen). If you don't, other players will hear you breathing, hear your family members/friends talking, and/or hear the sounds of gameplay coming from your TV/controller.
It charges pretty fast. The device manual recommended at least an 8-hr charge before its first use if not an overnight charge, but it must have been pre-charged before shipping because it took less than two hours for it to completely charge with the PS3.
To charge, simply connect the USB cord to the PS3 and the other end to the headset. It will continue to flash a red light until it is completely charged.
***This package (at least from e-Forcity), does not come with an AC charger.***
I started panicking when I opened the contents and found that there was no wall charger, because even the manual stated that the contents would include the charger...but it must not have been updated because the only "charger" it comes with is the USB cord.
This headset is NOT for any type of surround-sound environment. First of all, there's only one ear piece. It can get a bit uncomfortable after a few hours, simply because the ear piece doesn't cover the entire ear, making it push against the tiny bones (you'll feel what I mean after removing the headset after long gameplay sessions...). But the good thing is that you can just switch the headset around so that it covers the other ear. Perhaps switching between each ear every hour will help. Just don't leave it on one ear for so long.
Overall, this is a good headset. I'll give it five stars because of the quality I expected for $20. It's easy to use, players will definitely be able to hear you [and clearly], and it's wireless.

For those that are experiencing problems with the mic, you have to remember that it may be the game itself or your internet connection that will affect the quality of sound both on the sending and receiving end. If you have dial-up (if this is the case, I don't even know how you're gaming online) or a slower version of DSL, playing a game and using a mic will cause a split (sometimes uneven) with your bandwidth (internet speed being used).
For those who are familiar with VoIP (i.e. Vonage) while having a "not-so-fast" internet connection, you may have experienced a slow-down while surfing the web if someone else is using the phone (or vice-versa) even though there are ways to avoid this (Quality of Service a.k.a. "Traffic Control" via your router = controlling how much bandwidth each device gets).
The same goes with gaming on your PS3 you are basically "talking on the phone" while playing, except that the PS3 can prioritize the bandwidth usage for gameplay instead of for the mic. The bulk of the bandwidth goes towards the server you are playing in.
So, if your maximum internet speed is 756 kbps (I used to have a slow version of DSL and understand the pain), your PS3 could be using almost all 756 kbps (servers require a minimum connection speed different for each game/server) in order to keep a steady connection (so that there is minimal or no lag). However, this leaves little or no bandwidth for your mic.
When I mentioned "the game itself" could be causing the problem, that's because I experienced mic issues with Borderlands (PS3). My friend and I had difficulty hearing each other with incomplete sentences and stuttering on both ends. We then tried Uncharted 2 and Battlefield 3 and had no problems.
I did upgrade to Wireless Stereo Headset, but I still use this when I'm charging the Sony Official Wireless Stereo Headset.

At 1st glance, I was skeptical on the sound quality on the PS3 and with my cellphone. The sound quality is 5x better than your above average Bluetooth. For BF3 all the comm chatter now comes through the headset and the sound effects and stuff still come through my TV, which wasn't what I was expecting but works out even better. Lets me turn the volume down when my room mates are sleeping, but still hear my homies loud and clear. Never had any reception complaints from them either, we all use the same headset and everyone hears fine. I bought this for gaming with my PS3 and I paid around $18. I LOVE the bluetooth wireless technology and set up is very easy. One thing to note is that you only get voice through the headset and not the game audio. That isn't a big deal for me as the only reason I wear the headsets is to hear my friends. It is light and comfortable and doesn't take up a lot of space. I would also bet that it works with my phone and car if I wanted to connect. I can hear my friends just fine and they can hear me. Buy Xbox 360 Les Paul Wireless Guitar
This is the second guitar to come packaged with a Guitar Hero game on Xbox 360. This product is guitar only; click the bundle option if you need to buy Guitar Hero III as well. Buy this to get another copy of the best--for playing purposes--guitar on the Xbox 360.
This guitar is great and works on both GH II/III as well as on Rock Band. The strum is reliable, though loud, and the frets are responsive. Other nice features are that it is black, can be customized with faceplates, and is wireless. Two AA batteries last a good while, maybe 20-40 hours.
The sole downside is that the edge of the guitar where your lower arm may rest is not really comfortable, so your skin may feel a bit chafed after extended play. Still recommended over anything else, especially that Rock Band guitar, which doesn't even work on Guitar Hero.
The problem is, the guitar is never really working properly. This is mostly due to some really terrible design decisions. The neck detatches (presumably for easy transport), and as such there is another set of contacts between the neck and body. Turns out they really screwed up the design of this section and most people's guitar neck and bodies tend to separate and lose contact with eachother. This leads to buttons not working properly.
To make matters worse, Activision and Red Octane's return system is a travesty compared to EA's and rockband. When something in RB breaks(and believe me, it does. Often.), I can go to the EA website, tell them it is broken and within about 2 minutes, they are sending me a replacement drum set or guitar or kick pedal, as well as a prepaid box to send back the broken instrument.
When I tried to replace my les paul after the red and blue buttons stopped working after *two weeks* I had to send them an email which took a few days to get a response on, then it was MY responsibility to send them their defective product, then I got to wait 4-6 weeks while they deduce that it is, indeed, broken, then they sent me a refurbished one back. Oh, and the only reason I even got this pathetic level of service was because my guitar was still under 90-day warranty.
p.s., The replacement guitar also stopped picking up the green button after about 10 days. I ended up unhooking and repositioning the circuitboard/contact plate on the neck of the guitar myself, and it was upgraded from "unplayable" to "merely irritating."
Weak.
they made it so the neck of the guitar comes off, which is apparently for better storage but who cares. now thanks to that sometimes when u hit long notes and hold them, they break off randonly because of that stupid detachable neck.
on my guitar i have the green button like everyone else but it is hard to press in i dont think all the guitars are like that but it bugs me, and for some reason the select button doesnt work wen i try to use it to activate star power. which is something i need for star power (ill explain down below) and again i dont think that that will happen with all the les pauls but that also bugs me. and maybe the select button doesnt activate star power on GH II but it does on GH III and i tested it and it didnt work.
the reason i need the select button is because the les paul is so touchy. im telling the truth, you will not move and star power will go off. but then sometimes you will throw that guitar around and star power wont go off. its retarded. so to control the star power, i have to stand up with the guitar slightly pointed down. at first star power always went off, but then i just straightened the guitar, but it still happened, so now, like i said up above, i hold it slightly tilted downwards wen i get starpower. and doing that is annoying and uncomfortable, and sometimes i will lift the guitar up adn fly around my room with that thing and star power still wont go off. man this guitar sucks most of the time.
but two good things, batteries come with it, and the guitar doesnt eat up up the batteries. and its wireless so there is no cord to hassle with.
but yea id reccomend another type of wireless guitar if there is one, or a wired one cuz this one is just to touchy, and also for me (i dont know if u have this problem but i do) the green button is hard to press down, and the select button doesnt work so that sux.

I'm in a tough spot. I loathe the design of the Rockband guitars the strum bars feel too stiff, the buttons are loud, the guitar is terrible at sensing when you raise it vertical for star power. That leaves the guitar hero guitars as a backup. Fortunately, the Les Paul frets, strum bar and star power accelerometer all work exactly as they should. I like precision when I'm playing, so I like to hear the click from the strum bar and a super-fast reset back to the neutral position so you can strum again. In short, when the les paul is working, it is *perfect.*The problem is, the guitar is never really working properly. This is mostly due to some really terrible design decisions.
