I have read all of the negative reviews about Encore's chariot racing effort. The only kind word anyone has about Circus Maximus is that it is different. Well, it is different and it is fun. Admittedly, the game has its flawsgraphics being the main culpritbut it also has some dynamic gameplay when in the 1 player or 2 player co-op modes. Let's take a look...

Gameplay8 (out of 10)

One of the biggest complaints is that you have to use every button on the XBOX controller. You do and it is great! Once you get the hang of it, you will never look at the controller again when using the white or black buttons in other games. The biggest drawback under this umbrella is the steep learning curve on single player. It is tough because you have to simultaneously control both the driver and the warrior. There is a auto-drive option, but this is useless because the CPU driver cannot keep up with the others and you will fall hopelessly behind, thus it forces you to become quite skilled at button mashing.

This is where I have the most complaints. As in most recent games, the creators (due to lack of memory or whatever reason) choose not to allow sims/CPU-controlled opponents when in multiplayer mode. 2 players in co-op mode is so fun because your team is battling 3 other sim teams. In 3 or 4 player, you have to go head-to-head.

The graphics are a bit blocky, but the scenery of the Roman Empire landscape almost makes up for it. Another drawback for sure, but one I can live with.

Overall this game is quite fun, and mostly because it is different. The first time you use the "rear view mirror" button and see the CPU teams charging up to you for battle, I think you will find it fun also.

I bought this game yesterday and am extremely pleased with it. I was going to wait to read GamePro's Review of it (I heard it got all 4.5s and 5.0s) but after seeing the comments here I decided to just go ahead and pick it up. It's an amazing game. The controls are complex, but after playing for an hour or two I didn't even notice. What I did notice was solid graphics (not the best ever, but good clean textures), a fitting soundtrack, funny voiceovers (I don't think they really yelled "I'm gonna kick your @ss in ancient Rome), and engrossing gameplay. I'm just embarking on my career mode so that I can unlock the hidden teams (I want the Minotaur). For loads of fun race w/ a friend and let him drive while you fight. It's greatk!! Just make sure your friend knows how to drive the chariot. Mine kept crashing and we'd end up losing, so I chopped his head off w/ my Trident. Ok maybe I'm a little too into this game!!

The word in most forums is that this is a sleeper hit. This game is so much fun thats its crazy. Some (where the bad reviews are comming from) are having problems with the controls, it does take a little getting use to. But once you have it down you'll love it

Overall this game rocks. Very high replay value.

I like this game for it's idea. It certainly is different from most other games out there.

This game is great to play when friends come over. It isn't too hard at first, and even good players won't pull too far ahead, nor will bad players fall too far behind, making this a great party game.

Unfortunately, this is also the problem with this game. No matter how good you are, you can not manage to pull ahead. Eventually, the fighter on one of the other charriots will make you crash. You can catch up pretty easily, but it really is a matter of luck to be ahead at the end of the race. Perhaps the best strategy is to stay in the last position for the majority of the race, and attack towards the end, hoping to move by without getting knocked out...

If you want to play this game well, you have to start around 7am. It will take you about 4-5 hours to go through all the training rounds. By noon, you will know how to speed up, slow down, throw daggers, duck, sway, dodge obstacles, ram gift stands and run over innocent bystanders all at the same time. In an era of instant gratification, players have to remember to practice because Rome wasn't built in a day. This was the first game for any of the consoles (xbox, ps1-2, sega, nintendo or gamecube) that I had ever played. Not only can you learn to work the scary mass of buttons, but you can astound your friends...This is the game to play if you want step by step training in working every button and doodad on the xbox controller. It's especially fun when Marcellus, the trainer, screams insults at you like a drill sargeant each time you err. Proferring such exhortations as, "you aren't paying attention," "I didn't teach you that," "not the way I would have done it but not bad," Marcellus transforms the player from a slimy-twinkle toed newby into a master charioteer. You will earn Marcellus' highest praise, "done like a true Roman" if you persist in your efforts through the training. *****

I am a fan of the T.V. show and I have to admit that someone who is unfamiliar with Farscape will likely find themselves wondering what the allure of this game is. This game has really been geared towards fans of the show and seems to cater specifically to them.

Game play is good. The AI's for your team mates was a lot better than I expected. If you keep track of their behavioral settings, (run, fight, stay, follow, etc.) then they really serve to assist in fulfilling mission objectives. I have yet to have a computer-controlled teammate die on me. The missions are pretty linear since you're basically playing an [unmade] episode. A few players wrote about having trouble with the camera angles, but if you actually take the time to read the instructions, they are really very simple to use and are actually useful to the game play.

The use of the original actor's voices really makes this game stand out. It really makes the game feel like an interactive Farscape episode. It's a lot of fun to hear the way the characters interact and react to events in the game. (There's an Easter Egg I found in the first level involving Crichton finding "Winona" for the first time.)

If you're not a Farscape fan you probably won't find this game as enjoyable as someone who is a fan. However, if you are a fan of the show and also enjoy video games then you MUST buy this game.

I have to disagree with the other reviewer. Yes, some of the situations are difficult, but his criticism of the camera angles was unfounded because the game player controls the camera angels. I made it all the way through all the levels and had a blast, but it took me over a week to do it. I enjoyed the setup of the game, the characters' voices and one has to be knowledgeable about the strengths and weaknesses of the characters in order to make them work for you. The most fun I had was going to the town and buying the weapons and ammo. The first time through the game is mostly trial and error. I can't wait to do it again with some knowledge and the ability to make different decisions that will make the characters even more powerful. Sometimes I had to get away from it for awhile and think about my strategy. Then when I got back to it I could go on to the next level. Hours and hours of pure frustrating fun.

I own all of the released Farscape DVDs, love the show, could'nt wait for the game to come out. Big mistake...

This game has the absolute worst interface I have ever seen. The camera angle never lets you see more than a few feet at a time, allowing you to get blasted before you even see what's shooting at you. The radar's O.K. if you're in a dark environment but step thru some light and you're snowblind. I think they tried to do the Tomb Raider camera but instead of it following you it has to be manually adjusted.

Credit system: picking up animal hides or items dropped from enemies yields credits from traders( about as much as a pawn shop) and credits are few & far between. To purchase the better weapons you pretty much have to sell everything you have. And some enemies dissentigrate when you kill them leaving nothing.

weapons: low to mid-level weapons aren't much better than throwing rocks, not to mention when you're being attacked you can't fire back, your character just acts stunned for a couple of seconds.

enemies: a few levels are like playing Quake on the Nightmare setting, 'nuff said

levels: some levels you shuttle from the town to reach a certain goal. I made the mistake of killing all the creatures that were in the way, went back to town to buy more ammo, came back to find all the creatures alive again. Apparently going back to town resets the level so if you run out of ammo, put up your fists. Needless to say, sometimes you have to avoid creatures to conserve ammo thus passing up credits you badly need. catch-22.

Sad to say, this game was a great idea gone wrong, it was probably rushed to cash in on Farscape while it's still hot.

Bruce Banner feels he isn't a person any more he's the HULK, and he walks a thin line between good and bad. He's a big, green timebomb and he's ticking.

As you might tell from the game's intro message, this isn't about a "good superhero going out and facing down evil badguy". In fact, the training mission has you as a soldier in a VR environment, learning about the Hulk's moves in order to learn how to defeat the Hulk. As you move through the game, you get a general storyline about the Hulk, but really, that isn't what the game is about. The game is about destruction.

Where other games have touted their ability to have a "fully utilized environment", the Hulk delivers very nicely. Just about anything you see around you cars, tankers, even moving people and cows can be used as a weapon. Chase down the cow, grab it (with its legs waving wildly) and toss it at the enemy soldiers. Pick up the missile truck and lob it at the helicopter. The buildings can be damaged and destroyed. You can leap amazing distances and lob even very heavy items a quite long way. The results are often spectacular.

The graphics are quite good considering the number of objects that must be fully rendered in all phases of destruction. That is, they can't nicely create a "painting" effect knowing that object will always be seen in that exact same shape. The helicopters are a little blocky, but you can grab them, dent them, fling them at each other, and so on.

The sound is reasonably good really, all you hear is BASH! SMASH! GRRRROWL! plus a few voices saying things like "he's coming!" and some Banner conversations. It's good enough to keep the game going, and the musical score is low key and rumbling.

You can unlock artworks, move along through missions, and expand the storyline. Really, though, you are primarily destroying things with great glee. You can fling soldiers at trucks. Fling cows at building. Jump up and smash rooftops. Take down towers. Destroy, destroy, destroy.

While this isn't a complex puzzle game, there are times in life where you want to put your brain on hold and get rid of stress. Some people go jogging. Some punch punching bags. With the Hulk game, it doesn't matter if it's raining or snowing outside. You can sit down for an hour or two, demolish a ton of things, and accomplish goals along the way. Think of it as a construction worker who has to tear down the old, broken-down building to make room for new apartment buildings. It's destruction with a purpose, and sometimes that can be great fun!

The game when you first buy it is awsome. i mean who wouldent want to throw cars at helicopters, make people fly 20 yards with your finger, and bunt-kick a police car down 5 blocks? the game lasts a bit because of the "smash smash get some cash" gameplay (the more smash points you get, the more moves you get). the moves are the best part. at one point in the game, you get a move that lets you grab onto a helicopter or a big boss. i always loved riding the helicopter to 5th street... its alot better then skateboarding on a bus if you ask me. anyway, once you get all the moves and beat the story mode AND get the canadian boxers, it gets extremely repetitive.

at the end of the game, when you get critical alert status, the same guys always come.

5/5 stars for the first 3 weeks-2 months... 4 the next month, and basically declining to 3

BUT, whenever you are board and have nothin to do, no good tv is on, all of your friends are offline and every other game is getting booring, its nice to take a good ol trip back to this game and smash a mech or to.. you know, for old times sake.

This is one impressive action game. Believe the hype, Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction lives up to it.

I purchased the X-Box version because I assumed it would have the best graphics out of the three systems. I don't know if it really does, but I'm quite satisfied with them. To put it simply, things blow up real good. And they sound good blowing up, too.

This game reminds me of War of the Monsters for the PS2. Players of both games will notice great similarities in the action. Both games allow you to destroy nearly everything around you. Unlike War of the Monsters, the areas in Hulk UD are vast, even if there are only two (not counting the church and the military base interior).

The number of moves and abilities the Hulk has at his disposal are staggering. Many of them must be purchased with aptly-named Smash Points in order to be used. Part of the fun is destroying objects and defeating enemy units to rack up enough Smash Points to buy the next ability, which makes Hulk even more effective in action.

As the story progresses the enemies become more dangerous. Tanks get tougher, aircraft get faster, and robots get bigger. But the player has the option to "free roam" instead of advancing the plot. This allows the collection of more Smash Points to better prepare for the next mission. There's lots of freedom in the game, which I love. Did I mention the VAST areas?

Smash Points aren't the only things to collect. There are 60 hidden comic book icons to find which will unlock different items in the main menu. These items consist of video clips about the making of the game, art sketches, Hulk comic book covers, gameplay alterations, and different costumes for Hulk (one lets you play as Mr. Fixit); all nice bonuses.

As if all this weren't enough, the game delivers a solid story, too. For those who don't notice, the voice of Emil Blonsky is the same guy who does the voice of Slade in the cartoon Teen Titans.

It would have been nice to face down more of Hulk's super-powered enemies besides Abomination and Mercy. I would have loved to fight the Leader, or the U-Foes. I guess that's what sequels are for.

I couldn't stop playing Hulk UD until I reached the end. Even then I had more unlockable items to acquire. This is the perfect game for Hulk fans, and a good one for everyone else.

Parents: The content in this game seems absolutally fine for anyone roughly ten and up. The only reason I see it as rated teen is because this game requires a good bit of hand eye cordination sometimes. Aslo the hulk roaring might get to little kids who are still around the age where they still come up to you in the middle of the night to check there closets for monsters, but basicly if your kids can handel action cartoons like Ninja Turtles and Justice League they deffinately can handel this game.

I wasn't sure about this game when I picked it up. I don't know why, I hadn't heard much about it and I hadn't played many comic book based games besides the Spiderman based one on the Playstation. But I didn't see many other games at the rental store the kids could play on my XBox so I rented it out to see if it was okay.

It is, in my opinion, an absolutaly great game for almost anyone. The entire game was like a digital stress ball for me, you get to rampage to your hearts desire. I spent a few hours alone that week just ignoring the story chapters completely and just wrecking the huge city and desert military bases to game takes place in. Kids would also love it for the same reason they build lego houses and then smash them to bits with their action figures.

The story is a bit odd if you don't know much about the hulk already as it revolves around bruces quest for a cure in order to stop a second more evil and cunning Hulk Bruce Banner Discoverted growing inside him appropriatly named the Devil Hulk. The big green savage Hulk we all know and love also doesn't like the Devil Hulk moving in to Banner's mind, so it becomes more agreeable to suconicous orders Banner uses to get the child-like brute to do what he wants. Meanwhile a new baddie called the Abomination appears after one of the military general stupidly trys to recover one of bruce's failed "cure" attempts in the very begining of the game. All in all the story is okay as you go on, but you can tell they tried to stuff several comicbooks basic ideas into a game story only as an excuse to callenge you with bosses and other unique situations.

As far a gameplay goes, it's fantasic. The more damage you cause, the more smash points you earn and the more moves you can buy later too continue your assult on just about everything. There are mini games and secrets everywhere to earn even more smash points with. In fact, the only thing that's missing is a co-op or two player mode. As far as replayability goes, it's always there.

Anyway, I would recommended this game to a)anyone who has kids roughly around ten, b) anyone who likes third person, single player games and c) anyone one who has been stress out at work one too many times or feels like throwing a temper tantrum :).

If somebody came up to you and said, "Here, have some super powers" what would you do? Well, The Incredible Hulk Ultimate Destruction basically allows you to take the super powers, and run rampant with them in just about any way you want. While it doesn't contain the level of violence or crime that Grand Theft Auto has, (and lets face it, that's what everyone will be comparing this game to) it doesn't need to. It also does not contain the depth of story that GTA is so good about. But lets face it, when you do and elbow drop onto someone's head from 50 stories up, you can sacrifice some things to do that. When you can hurl a tank into a helicopter and watch them both explode and almost be able to feel the impact of the explosion, everything else just kind of fades into the background anyway. I just beat the game a few days ago, and I don't even remember the first few story missions, because I spent so much time just running through the city, smashing things and jumping from skyscraper to skyscraper, thoroughly enjoying every second of it. You can lose yourself in this game and play for hours without realizing it just like you can GTA, but instead of getting frustrated at the game, you actually feel a sense of relief each time you pound one of your opponents mercilessly into the ground and repeatedly stomp on thier heads, let out a growl, and kick them across the street. Anger management has never felt so good...

I'm a Harmonix veteran. I played Guitar Hero 1 back on the PS2 at a friend's house ALL the time. Then Guitar Hero 2 came out of the Xbox 360. I instantly grabbed it and I played all day (and sometimes all night). I was hooked. I couldn't get enough of it. Then Rock Band/Rock Band 2 blew me away.

I'm a musician/artist at heart as well as an avid video gamer. The combination here is perfect. Rock Band was excellent, Rock Band 2 improved it, and Rock Band 3 perfects it.

I grabbed The Doors pack instantly on Day 1 of RB3 purchase and I've been practicing the hell out of the keys. It's a real piano, guys. The game is really re-teaching me how to play piano. It has training, "learn an instrument" for the Pro Drums/Keys/Guitar, and of course on Expert Pro Keyboard you are literally playing the legit piano music for the song. You can then take it to a real piano and play it (and impress all those women with Bohemian Rhapsody by playing it and not just singing along haha!).

Rock Band 3 is the only music game you will ever need (until Harmonix releases a new revolutionary product, which they will). Trust me.

And shut the hell up about "buy a real instrument". This game inspires that in some people, and for other people they just want to have some fun. That's okay. That argument has a flaw: Madden fans? Go buy a real football. Tiger Woods fans? Go buy real wome-err golf set. Gears of War fans? Go buy a real chainsaw.

See what I did there?

Anyway, if you're thinking about buying this, then go ahead and do it. You won't be disappointed (except wait on the Pro Guitar, I hear the current 100+ button one isn't worth the money yet. There's a full stringed, touch sensored neck, real guitar/controller hybrid coming out).

As someone who has had over 10 years of classical piano training I've always had a strong interest in playing music. I taught myself guitar, bass, drums and while I'm not a virtuoso at these other instruments I enjoy playing and practicing them alone and with others.

Along with actually playing real instruments I've been a hardcore rhythm gamer and fan of Harmonix's past titles including GH1, GH2, RB1, RB2, and now RB3. I've invested a lot of money into the Rock band platform over the years but over the last 12 months or so I began to lose interest. Playing along to songs using 5 colored buttons had lost its appeal on me somehow.

Before last week I hadn't played a Rock Band game for more than 6 months. ... and yet prior to getting burnt out I played the game at least 3 times a week. I'm really excited by the direction Harmonix has taken with Rock Band 3 for multiple reasons.

For one, the time spent learning these songs on "plastic instruments" now translates perfectly to real instruments. As of right now I only own the keyboard peripheral but spending time in practice mode isn't just a way of getting a higher score in the game anymore; it's a way of learning the actual piano/keyboard part for the song. It's a complete reinvention of what a music game is capable of and for that alone Rock Band 3 deserves 5 stars and my highest recommendation to any rhythm gamer who wants to become even more involved with the music they are "playing" in the game.

The setlist might seem strange to longtime fans of the genre but I guarantee that every one of the on-disc songs has at least one part that is a joy to play. Whether it's the bass line to "Antibodies" or the guitar part to "Oh My God" Harmonix made sure to pick songs that had parts that are actually FUN to play. It's easily the most fun I've had playing any set list in the Rock Band series.

In short: Rock Band 3 is an epic achievement in game design and should be played by anyone who has ever enjoyed a Harmonix title.

So many more features than Rock Band 2. So much more user friendly. Better visuals. All songs are unlocked when you pop it in the tray, but instead you unlock new venues and outfits, so you still have unlockables.

This game is perfect.

You can now hop in/out with your friends mid-song, you can change you difficulty in the middle of the song. If I want to switch instruments I just grab the new instrument, press start, and take over the profile. What more could you ask for?

The keyboard is great. It's only 2 octaves but feels like a real keyboard... and it's a lot harder than I was expecting. Pro drums is so much fun, I can concentrate on playing my part instead of trying to figure out whether I'm supposed to hit a tom or a cymbal. They also swap the hi-hat/snare pads on songs that require it (think about the mess that was everlong on ghwt; in RB3, I just move your yellow cymbal a little more to the left and fire it up).

There's really not much else more to say, just look at all the 5 star reviews or the high score on metacritic.

Not much to say about Rock Band 3 itself (there's hundreds of other reviews) or the keyboard, but I thought I'd throw in some useful information. When I received this item, I got the normal keyboard box, but on the back side it states rather clearly that the game is -notincluded. After inquiry, the seller informed me that the game IS packaged inside the box, so if you are frustrated that the game is missing from the bundle, look inside (if you suspect that it won't be in there, carefully remove the adhesive surfaces so you can reattach them if it is actually missing). A rather poor way of shipping the bundle, but in the long run it's a very much minor issue altogether.

With Rock Band 3, Harmonix has decided to take a bold step into the world of pseudo-musicianship. The keyboard peripheral is an attempt to teach you how to play an actual musical instrument. In this case, a two octave keyboard. And therein lies one of it's limitations. This game can teach you how to manipulate a keyboard with one hand, but that is only getting half the job done.

The other limitation lies in the fact that Harmonix has merely extended their musical notation system to include the extra keys of the controller instead of adopting the more classical musical notation system that musicians actually use. Through repetition it will be possible to transfer this learning to a real world situation, but only for the songs you learn to play in Rock Band on Pro Mode Expert difficulty. And only if your band doesn't expect you to play the bass parts.

I think that expectations should be tempered with regard to what musicianship may be gained from this video game. However, as a video game control device, the keyboard is extremely fun to play with. If the Pro Keys mode is too intimidating, or just too frustrating, you can also play in regular mode which lets you reduce the number of viable keys down to the familiar five.

With it's working MIDI port, this is as real a musical instrument as you are going to be able to play with Rock Band until the Fender Squier is released next year. I can certainly see how this might whet the appetite of someone who might be interested in pursuing a more serious study of music, but as a means to an end, it should be remembered that this is first and foremost a video game.

Having said all of that, I have been a musician for thirty years. I have studied music classically and I have also learned that not everything can be taught in "schools". Therefore, I can not dismiss this attempt to cross the line between virtual learning and real. Who knows if this game will inspire anyone to become a "real" musician. I do know that this is the only party game I play at my house...

...and I would remind all of my musician friends who revile the age of plastic intruments, that this same scorn was evidenced when computer music came of age. There are those that embrace the future and there are those who are left behind. And the bottom line is if you enjoy music and you enjoy video games, then you should be having fun playing Rock Band.

I have been quietly anticipating this game for awhile simply because its the first decent party game for Xbox 360. Not a huge Mario Party fan lately since its the same old game over and over. I got this day one and am very happy, especially with the low price tag. :)

The concept, design and theming are great. The intro is funny, lots of little extras.

The problem is that the game is just not very fun. Gameplay is basically a hundred variations on the same goal: get clams.

The complex graphics don't display well on smaller TV's. Sometimes there's so much going-on that you don't really know what to do.

I tried on several occasions to play this game with various friends. Each time, the outcome was the same: boring. After about 10 minutes we switched to something else.

There aren't many reviews on this game so I will try to close the gap. This game is a city simulation game in the tradition of Simcity, where the gamer is given an island to run in the Caribbean -but the tone is much less serious and much more playful. It is the only such game that I know of for Xbox 360, other than earlier iterations of Tropico. The player must manage competing factions and make economic choices regarding how his island will run. The game offers a campaign mode of loosely connected scenarios and a sandbox mode.

The player can choose a single economy type or mix and match. Basic raw materials can be produced, including logs, ores such as gold or iron, farming products such as coffee or sugar, oil, or fish. Raw materials can in many cases be processed into higher grade items: e.g. logs into timber into furniture, gold into jewelry, sugar into rum, or tobacco into cigars. Tropico 4 adds some new industries such as weapons and chemical manufacturing. There are many examples of this, and new to Tropico 4 players may import raw goods for manufacturing a substantial change. Players may also develop a tourism industry, which is always fun and provides constant income.

As players manage their economy they must also feed (the marketplace actually works now!), educate, entertain, and police their citizens. This sometimes connects directly to the economy: farm goods can be consumed or sold, and educated citizens are required to operate more advanced industry. Various interest groups compete for attention the religious faction may want churches, communists want more apartments, and the military faction may want more soldiers but you may not be able to afford all of the above right away. If you have too many unhappy citizens it will lead to higher numbers of rebels, which you can fend off by building lots of soldiers or just appeasing your citizens. It sounds complicated, but it is easy to learn.

You also have an avatar, which you can use to shorten construction times or help in fights. New to Tropico 4 you develop and level up your character attributes rather than just picking them. For example, Level one administrator gives you +2% to commodity prices (along these lines anyway), if you complete a mission with it, you will have +4%. Maximum of 5 levels.

The biggest potential problem with a game like this is the controls. Tropico has been moderately successful because their controls actually work pretty well it could be quite a bit more successful, but I think the broader Xbox 360 community simply assumes that games of this type simply don't work for the Xbox. Yet menus are surprisingly intuitive, and managing your city proves quite doable. [The Tropico 3 menus were somewhat easier I preferred using the bumpers to switch between building types; in Tropico 4, you use the stick for both the type of building and the individual building. Using two different buttons somehow made the menus easier in Tropico 3. Yet it is perfectly manageable.]

This game does suffer some programming issues. I have not had a city crash on me, but I have had it get choppy after playing for a few hours. I have the most recent Xbox and installed the game, so I do not think it is Xbox's fault. Graphically this game features more Hawaii-like weather, with more rain and varied weather. It is very pretty, and makes you appreciate the sun. There are some new disasters which are quite visually attractive. The tone of the game is always playful and never takes itself too seriously the unique, parody-like feel of Tropico is one of its hallmarks.

This game is a step up from Tropico 3. Graphics are better and gameplay is more varied and with more options, but I do wish that there were some more substantial additions to gameplay. Imports change the game the most, and the maps are generally more spacious, but I'd have liked to see a deeper international relations and trade system, or perhaps more varied maps with the option to connect multiple islands together on the same map with bridges or ferries (think Venice or Indonesia like layout). Perhaps they could have added a more serious health system requiring management of different tropical diseases. Something to distinguish it more from Tropico 3. Yet too many changes and perhaps I would be complaining that it is too different (I loved Tropico 3!). The game already has just enough complexity to make it manageable too much more and it might just be too much.

This game would sell better if it wasn't released in such a difficult season (think Skyrim, G of W 3, MW3, Bfld 3, Rage, etc. -all released around the same time). Yet I do not believe it has gotten the attention it deserves. I am a bit of a nerd and have bought all of the new releases for this gaming season; I sell back the ones I don't like after playing them for a while. I will be hanging on to Tropico 4.

Tropico 4 has a fair amount of DLC, most of it only fine, but recently a rather large DLC called "Modern Times" was released for 1200 MS points. This expansion is one of the best DLCs available for the price for any game. Offering a new campaign, spanning 12 full size missions, and adding lots of new buildings, "Modern Times" has gotten me back into Tropico 4. Some buildings are entirely new like the SWAT team building or the new 7-Star Hotel, others replace the old buildings like the modern apartment building or the organic ranch. Each alter game play, and makes the game feel brand new. The population limit has been raised, and larger populations are much easier to manage with the new buildings. One scene had me watching the fireworks from "National Day" over new office buildings and skyscrapers, while dozens of balloons floated in when I enacted the brand new "balloon day" edict. It is well worth the money, and makes Tropico 4 feel like a true sequel to Tropico 3.

I was a big fan of Tropico 3, while it took a while to learn and was a little 'convoluted' in some of the controls. This version is much like Tropico 3, but it seems like they have improved on some of the control issues and made it much easier to learn with a very useful tutorial. Over all, it hasn't changed that much since the last version but it is still very enjoyable. If you have not played older versions, then it may still take a while to catch on, but I find it addicting. I bought this out right because I knew I would like itbut if you have never played before it is certainly worth (at least) a rent before you buy.

I am a big fan of Tropico 3 and spent many many hours playing it. Tropico 4 is virtually Tropico 3 with a large overhaul. The game is in HD, so the graphics are better. Most all of the buildings from Tropico 3 are in Tropico 4, but there are a lot of new ones, including the buildings that was on the computer expansion pack from Tropico 3 that never came out for the console version. Tropico 4 has a lot more government needs that will keep you busy through out your play time. The game is also more user friendly compared to Tropico 3. Some times the fine print is still hard to read but it has gotten better. If you like city building games then Tropico 4 is a great buy.

It's long been a figure of our imagination to create things to our liking. From stacking countless Lego bricks to make your own personal metropolis, to digital animation used today; or you could choose to avoid the building process entirely and become an el presidente and terrorize the citizens of Tropico Island. The options are up to you for what you want to create.

Tropico 4 by Haeminot Games has never been one to fool an audience. Tropico is real time simulator, which barrows many elements from Sim City, but brings many elements that aren't found in genre and help make it what it is today. One of the things that your easily going to like about the game is you are not invisible. Unlike other games, the citizens of Tropico Island dearly note your actions. If you end up acting like Fidel Castro, the citizens on the island will start a revolution (VIVA LA REVOULTION). Sooner or later, your military will have to suppress the uprising or else the citizen will over throw you from government.

When I first started playing Tropico 4, I killed every protester, let in ever immigrant and didn't supply enough housing for my citizens. Fast-forwarding three years in my el presidente term, my days were numbered with every citizen on the island trying to gun me down. It's these moments that make the series stand out because your actions have deep ramifications and help create a unique experience for yourself. My only gripe with this is I wish this was expanded on in the in the Modern Times expansion.

Tropico 4 finally welcomes it's self into the 21st century with the latest expansion called Modern Times and with that comes the latest goodies. New building, taller landmarks and a more traditional look that make cities resemble with what you are currently living in. If you think it was impressive how Tom Cruise scaled the tallest tower in the world in Dubai, then it's easily to do so (if you have the money of course) to create your own 21st century empire. Along with updated buildings, real time simulator fans will greatly appreciate the curved roads options to adequately customize your city. All together however, the look just feels like fancy re skin. Don't get me wrong, modern times gives the player more options from the outset and I love what it brings to the table, but the expansion fails to fix problem found in the original game.

The presentation values in Tropico 4: Modern Times are one of the biggest disappointments about the game. Either it's the Xbox 360 or the game it's self, the regardless of amount of time you spent ruling the city as el presidente. Tropico 4 fails to create a living breathing city, even though it dose a lot of things right with customizable buildings, eco friendly options and etc, but it miss a crucial part.

Citizens on Tropico Island won't appear on screen, even though you have a huge population in your city. Now to a certain extent the game dose do this, with the citizen's frequently revolting and sparking revolutions on the island, but it's still very few and far between. I wanted to see my citizens in my town crowded together, or see mass traffic jams due to the amount people on the island. For this reason alone, I felt kicked back from the experience and never was fully immersed.

Besides personal problems, the user interface on the Xbox 360 is still behind where it should be. Organize and micromanaging your city can be troublesome and frankly a pain to create your city to your liking. Rotating objects isn't as automatic as it should be, but it's still doable none else. What is going annoy most players is the of lack on screen guidance. Placing a farm in the right area can be a difficult for some because it doesn't explain what you should be aiming for and what to avoid. Now the game dose have a great tutorial system, but outside the tutorial system the game fails to teach you the proper success.

Modern Times is a good addition to the Tropico series, but the expansion still has the same mistakes. It's great that the Tropico 4 made the jump to the 21st century, but it's almost to little to late at this point. When you start digging and finding out what the expansion is all about. You will still see a game that has great potential, but is squandered by mistakes.

Sometimes the sequels to games are not as good as the original. This is not the case with Tropico 4. I played Tropico on my PC. Missed 2 and 3, when a good sale came up I discovered this for the Xbox, and now fight with the kids for time on the Xbox! The first reviewer did a great job of summarizing what you have to do which is basically build an island, economy, people, housing, industry, transportation, and government. The graphics are great IMO. I love SIM games so this is right up my alley. My kids don't seem too interested, but my son is more the "shooter games" type, and my daughter is really not into games at all.

So for this 40 year old kid at heart I say go for it and enjoy that Xbox, not just for kids anymore thanks to Tropico 4!

I owned and played the heck out of the original Guitar Hero, and managed to get everyone I knew into it. Yet for some reason I skipped GH2 when it first came out, and didn't return to the series until GH3. I was very disappointed in GH3, but when I saw GH2 on sale for the new 360 I bought it and fell in love with the series again.

As a sequel GH2 picks up and improves upon almost every aspect of the original. Co-op mode was a great idea, and there's a better mix of genre/decade songs than the original. The game offers a few genuinely challenging songs and is for the most part more difficult than the original. However for those, like me, who played GH3 first and wanted to try something else in the series GH2 is a lot easier. That's not a bad thing at times it felt like GH3 was artificially adding button combinations or notes in order to ramp up the difficulty. To put it shortly, GH2 is an improvement in gameplay (as much as rhythm based games can be different) from both its predecessor and its first successor.

However, since we're comparing the game to its sequel, the most painfully obvious difference is the lack of master tracks. The covers aren't terrible but the fact that there aren't more original recordings is pretty disappointing. For some this won't make the least bit of difference, for others it can be jarring. It all boils down to how you feel about covers in general. Another potential fault is the DLC area. The tracks you can download are a bit pricey, but if you're willing to pay they definitely help prolong the experience.

GH2 is still my favorite of the original three GH games. It has a great mix of music, it just "feels" a lot smoother than its sequel, and the new multiplayer mode definitely adds a lot more to the series. If you enjoyed GH3 and are looking for more, if you love the guitar experience on full band games, or if you want to get into the genre with no background experience I highly recommend you check out GH2.

Plus, who can argue with a game that has a SPINAL TAP song on it?

I bought Guitar Hero 2 originally for Playstation 2 when it first came out and then it out later for Xbox 360 so I bought this game also because it had better graphics and some extra songs.This game is really fun I can play it for hours and not get bored of it.I play it on medium because I find it difficult to press the orange button on hard mode.This game has a lot of great songs,but not all of the songs are good,some of the cover songs are not done very well like "Killing In The Name","Them Bones",and "Institutionalized". Besides the covered songs the rest of the game is fun and I think this game has better songs than Guitar Hero 3. This game has a unlockable songs,costumes,and guitars.My guitar that came with X-plorer guitar which is my favorite guitar,I own the Les Paul guitar and its not as comfortable.I do think that these games should have more newer bands like Chevelle,Three Days Grace,Breaking Benjamin,and Bullet For My Valentine.

My favorite songs are "Freebird","Crazy On You","Them Bones"and "Laid To Rest".

What a disappointment!! When I got word of this game, I heard that it would be like a TMNT version of Mario Party (It'd be a whole lot cooler if it were)....I also heard that the game had an epic amount of unlockables/bonus materials/easter eggs (which I absolutely LOVE!! It's half the fun of playing) ...the "unlockables" left alot to be desired....ALLLLLLLOT!! There was some nice artwork from the cartoon series of background scenery, but the bulk of the character artwork was the same as what you'd find in tmnt2 battle nexus...not only were many of the pictures the same, it looked as if someone took a snaphot of tmnt 2 while it was up on another screen!! Unacceptable!! Some were artwork of "some homeless guy in the background" and other random bit characters that no one cares about (that were most likely dug out of an animator's wastebasket). However, the sketches of the action figure designs were pretty SWEET!

There's also info about the original tmnt comic that started it all and it's there for you to "read"...but the text is so illegible that all you can do is look at the artwork (IF YOU SQUINT). The "outtakes" snapshots were horribly unfunny...as were most of the "outtake" movie clips (though there were 1 or 2 there that really WERE funny...like the one with splinter and mikey. That one had me LOL!!)

The "unlockable" characters were a letdown as well. You HEAR "20 DIFFERENT playable characters", but what you SEE are the same characters but in different outfits...big stinking WHOOOOOOP!

Yeah, it may be nice to finally see April O'Neil NOT being kidnapped and actually fighting amongst the guys....But my true favorite is Karai. What a letdown, I really wanted to see her....Imagine those two, boys (CATFIGHT!!!)! Eh, Karai would probably make sashimi out of April anyways...

The graphics look blocky and dumb. The poor turtles were made to look like CRASH TEST DUMMIES...the designers must have spent that time making the shredder character look cool...cause boy does he!

All of this MIGHT be forgivable if the gameplay was good, but even THAT's a problem. There have been numerous times my hits would go right through the enemy (literally as if he were a ghost) and not take any damage. And many times where you're supposed to pick up your enemy's body to throw around and it doesn't work...not to mention trying to "aim" projectile weapons (missile launcher, etc.)

It's not all suck, though. The "melee matches" ARE fun! But it's, for the most part, only fun when your friends are over to share.

All in all, it looks (and plays) like it was made in haste.

It's a sad truth that I (at my age) am just as big a fan of the Turtles as I ever was (minus the posters on the wall and the toys on my floor)...it's for this reason I rate this game a GENEROUS 3 stars.

tmnt mutant melee is a gook game. not great. not horrible. i love the turltes and was excited about this game. but other than that it is not like other fighters. if you love the turtles and the fighting genre pick up tournement fighters for the snes. if you want tried and true fighting mechanics then this game is not for you. if you buy anything bearing the logo of the turtles then you probably bought this already. this is also for the newer series of turlte cartoons. so old school fans that haven't followed the newer series need not apply.

This is the best product that I have ever bought from amazon. At first, I was a little unsure about buying something so important from someone that I didn't know, but it is wonderful. The hard drive was simple to install (it took me about 5 seconds) and it works very well. I seriously doubt that we will use all of the space on this hard drive, but if we do then I would definitely purchase another one here. The bonus memory card reader is even better than the hard drive. I have been unable to transfer any of my pictures from the memory card in my phone to my computer unless I email them to myself one at a time. This is time consuming and very frustrating. I tried the memory card reader, and it took me about 20 seconds to transfer almost 1000 pictures! This purchase has been a lifesaver!

Okay I won't waste your time if you are not into music games and you think a person should learn the real thing I can't help those people. But if you are interested in a different music game, like music games, and would appreciate a normal point of view (non-critical one) please read on.

So the I was unsure if I could play DJ Hero, I have no idea what I am doing, never been to a club in my life, but I can play this. I am okay at Guitar Hero play hard on guitar and drums, but scratching is another matter. But the controls are easy, start on beginner if you are unsure. The notes and gameplay make more sense when hearing actual music. Watching game play videos online didn't help me feel like I could do it. The tuturials are easy and really get you normalized to the settings. The game doesn't (for me) cramp up my hand like the guitar does, I don't need to sit in a certain position to best play (even though a flat surface would be good). The game is good.

Now if you want to learn real DJing this won't help you, it WILL though help you appreciate what DJ's do. I mean to think of the beats like they do. Who would know to mix songs like that, and the exactness you have to have in order for a record to sound good is verys specific. I must say I thought DJ just stood there and looked cool, but they have to pay attention and really listen to what they are doing. They are artist and I appreciate them now after playing the game.

If you like Guitar Hero only because of the rock songs, you might not enjoy this as much because it is Hip Hop R&B and Techno song based. It does have a club / urban feel to it, I like it. I like all types of music. Guitar Hero and Rock Band has songs that I remember in High School, these have songs I remember before that and after mixed nices. If you have a good sound system, you feel you are in the club and it will be important to play the song right.

But this may be an early note and maybe because I didn't fail yet, but I DONT SEE A FAILING SYSTEM there were a few times I thought that I should have been booed off the stage of the DJ on the game would through the disk across the room but I didn't get that, I made it through each song.

So far I love the game, I refused to go online right now and get super embrassed at my non-DJing skills, but the play is simple, enough not to frustrate you where you aren't haven't fun, there are higher levels for you who figure they need impossible to even get a thrill. It is worth your money though if you think you can enjoy it.

And let me add, not everyone is musically inclined, not everyone has time or the money to learn real instruments and DJ skills and such. So please let us enjoy the games because DJ Hero (along with other music games) open our eyes to what is out there, new music, styles, and appreciation for the real things. Don't be a hater be a supporter.

Let me start by saying that I've never been a big fan of this current generation of peripheral-based music games, such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band, etc. Sure I own a copy of GH2 and 3 (3 given to me as a gift from the bargain bin). I have a couple of GH controllers. But after the first few weeks with those games the thrill was gone. I could only play on easy mode. I'd got booed off the stage in defeat. Things in the game I wanted to try or see remained forever locked because I was neither good at it, didn't have the time to get good at it, and even a small session would cramp my hands bad enough to wonder if I might actually develop arthritis from simply trying to play this game that I already paid a mint for. While GH has had great success, and is actually a pretty cool game, I found it rather discouraging and inaccessible.

I was therefore very skeptical about the new "spin" on this latest entry of the genre and brand, DJ Hero. I hardly kept it on my gaming forecast radar for all the bad memories of GH past and the fact that I figured it'd just be more of the same and slanted to rake the pockets of hip hop fans. Well, brothers and sisters, I am happy to report how wrong I was. I LOVE THIS GAME!

I saw it on display at a retail store. Everyone was crowded around and I became bold enough to start an inquiry. Is it hard? How much like GH is it? How are the songs? Is it fun? Well, long story short, somehow I dared myself to buy it for the entry level price, $120. I had a friend coming over that night and so I thought we might both give it a try and, if I didn't like it, maybe I'd trade it to him for half the price and cut my losses.

Well, I got it home, hooked it up rather easily, started the in-game tutorials and never looked back. DJ Hero takes what was right with GH and practically fixed all of the aforementioned flaws. This game has improved on so many aspects that GH laid out in the past. It's a very fresh take on this new music-based peripheral genre. It's very accessible to ALL player skills. The gentle tutorial will lead your way to hours of great fun and music. Players will also feel a sense of accomplishment as the learning curve is very low. The game play is not as unforgiving as GH where you have to practice all the time and/or be a freak and end up with arthritis to get good at it and not get booed off the stage or be unable to unlock other parts of the game.

The peripheral it comes with is easy to learn and will get you playing in no time. Everything makes sense with this game. After the quick tutorials, you'll be dying to try everything this game has to throw at you and you never feel like it's a chore. It plays like GH in that you react to the oncoming rhythm indicators but, instead of the guitar, you have a DJ turntable with only three buttons you need to push accordingly, along with just a few other knobs to turn. Players should find this set up very intuitive. The peripheral it comes with is very capable, sturdy, and wireless. It's also customizable for R-L hands, and it's a LOT of fun playing around with that thing.

The best thing about this game is simply that it's a lot of fun without a lot of work. There are enough songs to suit anybody's taste, and almost every song has been remixed anyway so that most songs will sound new to anyone. There are plenty of goodies to unlock and the best part is you don't have to master the game to unlock them. Just playing the game enough and doing well will have you unlocking items all the time, and like I said, it's not hard to play well. You can make it as hard as you want though. The game is fun and will reward you for as easy or as hard as you want to play it. There's even a bonus to the gameplay where you can plug in your old GH guitar into the second port and, for certain mixes, play dual turntable/guitar sessions with a friend.

The only drawbacks to this game is that if you play it for a really long time the novelty and fun might not be as appealing as it was when you first started. Like I said, you won't be booed off the stage so you probably won't put down the turntable until the thrill is gone. You'll come back to it time after time, most likely, but the game will potentially lose its shine. The only other drawback that I can see is the price. $120 is pretty steep even at the entry level and there is a premium $200 "Renegade" edition where you get a more fortified turntable, a stand, a solid DJ like case, and an exclusive Jay-Z/Eminem CD. Most people should be happy with the $120 edition though. You get the same songs either way and the turntable is just fine with the entry level purchase.

In closing, if you already like these peripheral-based music games, DJ Hero is something you probably want to check out. If you're new to these types of games or have given up on them, as I have done in the past, DJ Hero is a very fresh and inviting new entry into the genre. Fun for you, for friends, for family, for parties, for anything to do with music gaming. DJ Hero should be a GREAT time and product for just about anybody.

Finding the euphoria button (aka star power) can be hard when you're trying to focus while playing difficult tracks

Overall, I love this game! I was a little unsure about it when I bought it, but a couple minutes of playing it cleared that all up. I would recommend this game to anyone who loves music and is looking for something to have fun with and enjoy with friends!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was a little skeptical at first about playing DJ Hero Bundle with Turntable because quite honestly I was quite intimidated by the looks of the turntable. After finally overcoming my fear, I was pleasantly surprised how much fun and entertaining the game is. The tutorial was a big help and made everything easier to understand and grab the concept of the game. What makes DJ Hero so different besides the hardware is the sound. GH games are known for its guitar strums and rock and metal tunes. You will instantly realize that DJ Hero brings something brand new to the plate, satisfying the hunger for rhythm hungry gamers wanting more of a techno, hip-hip and R&B flavor. I can't say the game is easy, in my opinion it is very challenging (but I also have troubles rubbing my belly and patting my head at the same time). Just like other Guitar Hero instruments you need to match the on screen cues and will you earn Euphoria (equileant to star power) and the music will play correctly as long as you hit all the notes. Even if you mess things up you can continue play unlike or GH games that stop the song if you mess up. There are a few "trick" surprises that allows you have a different effect on the sound of the song you are playing. The tutorial explains it all thoroughly.

Since this is so new on the market, I can't wait to see what Activision comes up with next for DJ Hero. Remember when the first original GH game came out and the guitar was so plain and all you pretty much did was follow the notes and try to beat your own score, this game is kinda the same concept. This is the first edition "prototype" to be out so we can only expect only better things to come.

My daughter bought this game, and she really likes it. I myself am a professional DJ, and thought I'd give it a try. I found its fun and is truly addicting, the songs and beats are Great, and can keep you busy for a while. Although not as hard and complex as live DJing, it will challenge you and keep you wanting to out-do your last score. I do recommend this game for all ages!

The gameboy was great until the battery charger stopped working (within a month). Aside from this, my kids' only complaint was that many of the games were duplicates.

All efforts to resolve the faulty battery charger with the company, who initially told me not to worry bc it was guarranteed, ended in them ignoring my emails, with no refund nor replacement. It's been 3 months, and we still haven't resolved it. I wouldn't recommend this product, unless you buy from a reputable company, and not WoofersEtc.

I bought this after putting it off for various reasons. I am thrilled with it! The shipping time was SUPER FAST.I can't believe they squeezed all these games into this little unit! I am an old school gamer when I have the time, and the graphics of these games are just like playing an old nintendo or sega all over again. I plugged it into my 42" flat screen today and played Burgertime the way it was meant to be played. battery has a charged life of about 5 -6 hrs between charges which again works fine for me. The only other game I would add to this unit is JR.Pacman.(Maybe someone will come out with an Atari handheld ??!!please!!)I took it to work with me to show it off, and now a couple of them want one.I have only had this for about a week, but so far, I am happy with my purchase. GREAT PRODUCT !!

A complete waste of money. Most of the games are duplicate and/or homebrew games. The portable system itself feels cheaply made. The buttons and directional pad are okay.

this modded controller is awesome and does have 10 modes on it with the auto quickscope button on the back. the rapid fire it ptetty fast. the only thing i dont like is when the controller is in standby mode witch is kind of annoying because it turns the controller off and you have to take the battery pack out and replaceit but otherwise the controller is pretty cool
