I am a fan of the T.V. show and I have to admit that someone who is unfamiliar with Farscape will likely find themselves wondering what the allure of this game is. This game has really been geared towards fans of the show and seems to cater specifically to them.

Game play is good. The AI's for your team mates was a lot better than I expected. If you keep track of their behavioral settings, (run, fight, stay, follow, etc.) then they really serve to assist in fulfilling mission objectives. I have yet to have a computer-controlled teammate die on me. The missions are pretty linear since you're basically playing an [unmade] episode. A few players wrote about having trouble with the camera angles, but if you actually take the time to read the instructions, they are really very simple to use and are actually useful to the game play.

The use of the original actor's voices really makes this game stand out. It really makes the game feel like an interactive Farscape episode. It's a lot of fun to hear the way the characters interact and react to events in the game. (There's an Easter Egg I found in the first level involving Crichton finding "Winona" for the first time.)

If you're not a Farscape fan you probably won't find this game as enjoyable as someone who is a fan. However, if you are a fan of the show and also enjoy video games then you MUST buy this game.

I have to disagree with the other reviewer. Yes, some of the situations are difficult, but his criticism of the camera angles was unfounded because the game player controls the camera angels. I made it all the way through all the levels and had a blast, but it took me over a week to do it. I enjoyed the setup of the game, the characters' voices and one has to be knowledgeable about the strengths and weaknesses of the characters in order to make them work for you. The most fun I had was going to the town and buying the weapons and ammo. The first time through the game is mostly trial and error. I can't wait to do it again with some knowledge and the ability to make different decisions that will make the characters even more powerful. Sometimes I had to get away from it for awhile and think about my strategy. Then when I got back to it I could go on to the next level. Hours and hours of pure frustrating fun.

I love it!

Best Deals for Farscape - PC

I own all of the released Farscape DVDs, love the show, could'nt wait for the game to come out. Big mistake...

This game has the absolute worst interface I have ever seen. The camera angle never lets you see more than a few feet at a time, allowing you to get blasted before you even see what's shooting at you. The radar's O.K. if you're in a dark environment but step thru some light and you're snowblind. I think they tried to do the Tomb Raider camera but instead of it following you it has to be manually adjusted.

Credit system: picking up animal hides or items dropped from enemies yields credits from traders( about as much as a pawn shop) and credits are few & far between. To purchase the better weapons you pretty much have to sell everything you have. And some enemies dissentigrate when you kill them leaving nothing.

weapons: low to mid-level weapons aren't much better than throwing rocks, not to mention when you're being attacked you can't fire back, your character just acts stunned for a couple of seconds.

enemies: a few levels are like playing Quake on the Nightmare setting, 'nuff said

levels: some levels you shuttle from the town to reach a certain goal. I made the mistake of killing all the creatures that were in the way, went back to town to buy more ammo, came back to find all the creatures alive again. Apparently going back to town resets the level so if you run out of ammo, put up your fists. Needless to say, sometimes you have to avoid creatures to conserve ammo thus passing up credits you badly need. catch-22.

Sad to say, this game was a great idea gone wrong, it was probably rushed to cash in on Farscape while it's still hot.

Honest reviews on Farscape - PC

Farscape: The Game has to be one of the best looking games of this genre since Diablo. I really enjoyed playing this game and the character's are exactly like the show.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games has many games (listed below) and play options so there's something for everyone. It also has variety for different situations, such as playing alone, as a team or against others, which make it a great all-around game.

Initial events:

Alpine Skiing (Downhill and Giant Slalom)

Ski Jumping (Individual and Team Large Hill)

Freestyle Skiing (Moguls and Ski Cross)

Snowboard (Halfpipe and Snowboard Cross)

Speed Skating (500m, Short Track 1000m, Short Track Relay)

Figure Skating

Skeleton

Bobsleigh

Ice Hockey

Curling

Dream Ski Cross

Dream Snowboard Cross

Other "Dream" events are unlocked as you play. These involve variations on the main events and some new ones. In the Dream versions you collect and use items, face obstacles, use different tracks, etc.

There are also 3 "Party Games" that seem silly when playing them on your own but should be a fun way to play many events quickly with a group of people.

Pros:

Multiple modes--Single Match allows you to select your events and choose Versus, Team Versus, or Co-op Play. Festival allows an individual or team of up to 4 players to take on events and rival challenges as assigned over 16 "days" of the Olympic games. This is like arcade mode. You can also check your records against others' on WFC.

Balance board option--you don't have to use the Wii Fit balance board but, if you have one, you can do 1-player games with it. It changes the game play and provides additional variety. (It's harder than the regular controls though!)

Multiple characters--the characters all have different attributes and special moves so it keeps the play interesting.

Many games--as mentioned there is something for everyone due to nice breadth and depth--and all ages should enjoy it. It's easier to unlock things than in Mario Kart. It even lets you accumulate points and "shop" for decals so you can customize your skis, bobsleighs and snowboard, outfits for your Mii, etc.

Cons:

Controls--if you want to play something that actually simulates hockey moves, skating, etc. this isn't it. The controls are fun and pretty responsive but not similar to Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort (although using the balance board helps.) Also, the instructions for Curling tell you to use a bowling swing but neither my boyfriend nor I can get it to work that way consistently. We've found that you have to snap your wrist and then it works fine.

Balance board option--a pro but a con too as you can only use it for 1-player games.

No Wii Motion Plus option--it would be fun if WM+ worked with this.

Kids if you're looking for a game that has a lot of action, this is it. Parents if you're looking for a clean game that you can even occasionally play with the kids, this is it. Some of you may be returning to this title after playing the Mario/Sonic Beijing 2008 game. Although that game was good in its own right, this one is even better. There is no violence in this game, and it introduces you to the world of the Olympic Winter Games using the familiarity of your favorite characters from two of the most popular frachises in the industry. I would suggest that this game is probably even better if you are new to the Wii.

The best part of this game is that there are challenges for players of every skill level. Certain events are easy enough for inexperienced gamers (such as very young children or non-gamer parents), while other events may challenge even the more experienced gamer. The gameplay is organized very well; you can either play Olympic events freely or aim for a high score in a structured "Festival Mode". As for the Olypmic events, this game includes a wealth of favorite sports some of which will be new to the Olympics in real life, appearing for the first time in Vancouver this winter. There are familiar events such as Alpine Skiing, Figure Skating, and Ice Hockey; and there are some fantasy events that you can unlock, as well. If you have a Wii Balance Board, you can use that as a controller for certain events but the game does not require it. Many of the events in this game do not even require the Nunchuk accessory (though I would highly recommend purchasing one if you plan to buy this game).

Just as in Mario & Sonic at the Beijing Olympics, this game allows you to use your Mii in the different events. As an added bonus in this game, however, you can customize your Mii by "purchasing" items in the shop (you purchase these items using points you earn by completing events giving you yet another way to structure your gameplay). You can also unlock books at the library, where you can learn about different aspects of the real Olympic Games. I, myself, never knew how Curling was played until I played this game. The multiplayer in this game, by the sheer nature of the type of game it is, is excellent. You can play cooperatively or competetively with friends and/or family. If you like to use the online features of the Wii, you can connect this game and check your high scores against those of other players all over the world. The background and theme music is outstanding, and the graphics are simply gorgeous. This game is a must-have for any die-hard sports fan, but especially for fans of the Olympic Games.

Best Deals for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games - Nintendo Wii

My family enjoyed the original summer games version. I was a little pessimistic going into this Olympic Winter Games since, in general, I am not a big fan of the winter olympic events. But I was happily surprised to see the great improvements made to gameplay from the previous summer olympics release. After playing this game, I am hoping the they release the next summer olympic game and incorporate the improvements made for this Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. In the summer games, you could play in a season-like mode, but only as an individual. The Winter Games allows multiple players, as a team or vs., to go through an entire 16(?) day campaign, full of unlockable features. The other great new addition are the "Dream" events. They are kind of silly at times, but if you're a fan of the Mario and Sonic series, you'll really appreciate the features built into these events. The other key addition for this game release is support for the Wii Balance Board in several events, but I have not tried using the board yet. The only negative comment I have is that going into the Dream Events for the first time, there is no real direction, explanation of what to expect or how to accomplish the goalswhich can be very tricky for some of the events that are really quite different from the standard events.

I had high hopes for this game and my hopes were exceeded. If you liked Mario and sonic at the Summer Games, trust me, you will like this on ten times more.

Pros

-This game has superb graphics that really get you into the winter feel

-It is not as strenuos as the first one which leaves more playing time and less rest time

-The wii motion controls are excellent whether it is skiing or speed skating you feel like you are sonic or mario

-Some of the games aren't even in the winter olymics. You may think this is a bab thing but having a snow ball fight is one of my favorite things to do in this game. use thhe nunchuck to build a snowball nd flick the wii remote to throw it

-excellent replay value unlike the previous mario and sonic game that had no replay value this game you can paly over and over and still break new records

Cons

-just like last game multy player is very unfair like , whoever has the fatest or strongest guy wins

All in all this is a great game for wii players of all ages and i highly recommend it to anybody who wants to have a good time

Review of Rock Band Bass Pedal Reinforcement - Pedal Metal

Rock Band Bass Pedal Reinforcement - Pedal Metal
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

No way this product has 5 stars on 28 reviews. The writing tone for a lot of those other reviews is very similar.

After playing 2 songs on expert drums, I can say that unless you play with tennis shoes on, the fact that the screws aren't flush means you'll feel every kick. Specifically the two screws on the left.

Plus your pedal is completely torn up by the mounting screws. If something actually goes wrong with your pedal after installing this, you have to unscrew it and send it back to EA with 6 jagged holes in it definitely wear above and beyond normal.

PASS.

Gave it three stars since it works as advertised, but it's pretty ghetto. I'd buy a real pedal or just keep sending broken ones in. EA turns them around in like a week and it took 5 months for my first one to break.

This is an excellent addition (reinforcement) to your flimsly Rock Band plastic drum pedal. Easy to install and very durable. Pedal Metal shipped very quickly. For the most part, a great buy!

I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because:

1) the screws aren't flush with the surface

2) this may not work depending on how badly your pedal is damaged. The description doesn't really say it's a fix for a broken pedal as much as it's a preventative... but it also makes one think it will fix a broken pedal, but then installation could be tricky (or impossible) depending on how your plastic is broken

3) after receiving it, I'm not sure the product itself is worth $15.00, but it does prevent (or maybe solves) a big problem with minimal effort and that in itself is worth $15.00. Better than paying $60.00 for a whole new kit.

And one more note, having nothing to do with this product, but the Rock Band drum pads have sensors which do wear out over time. I'm only including this here to save you the same frustration I went though.

You can buy ones online that work very well. Getting the pad open is a little tricky (closing it is even harder), but once open replacing the sensor is a snap and you're rockin' again. In fact, I think the replacement sensor is even better than the original, it's a little more sensitive and picks up quick successive hits better. I got mine from

Have you seen the kit for Guitar Hero World Tour? Can't wait... :)

My 17 year old attached it in less then 15 minutes.

We took the pedal apart and he was able to line up

and then use the self boring screws to attach the pedal plate.

He's back enjoying his Rock drums again. Wonderful fix.

Honest reviews on Rock Band Bass Pedal Reinforcement - Pedal Metal

Im not too great at this review thing, but i wanted to do one for this product because it is such a wonderful little add on, i couldnt imagine my rock band set up without it. Me and my friends go all out with this rock band thing, we play in position and we rock as hard as we can with the toy peripherals, so naturally things have broken or bent badly with the group. I drum alot since its fun and i am a large guy, so my foot stresses that pedal like no other. It bent badly one day and i thought my drumiming days were over till i found this product. It came super fast, almost 4 days before it was estimated to be here, and the instructions were super easy. The added weight and texture are perfect and it really helps to know that when the pedal kicks get crazy that the pedal can hold up to it. Ive been stomping this thing for a few days now and it hasnt so much as hinted at any damage. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

I bought one of these Dance pads after doing tons of research. It came in the mail very quickly (though I bought from step2ddr, not amazon). There is a connector box that goes between the pad and the system for some reason that has the "start" and "select" buttons on it. This is the only stupid feature about the product. It has caused the pad to short out a couple times. My SO and I play very heartily on this pad (about 2.5 hours a day since June 1) and it is sturdy enough to handle our constant barrage of steps. The buttons work great in terms of sensitivity! There has been no cracking on the arrows, the sensor zone is large, and the sunken arrows really create an ease of play. You must wear shoes for this pad or you will hurt yourself!

UPDATE: It's been about 6 months of owning the dance pad, and a week ago, one of the buttons finally cracked. This hasn't affected gameplay at all, but if it ever did, you can purchase new ones (they're easily removeable). The pad will short out from time to time, but that happens to me a lot less than it does to my SO maybe it's a weight thing. It's corrected by disconnecting and reconnecting the cables.

If I didn't own this pad, I wouldn't be nearly as good at DDR as I am now. It's very fun and pretty, and I'm proud to own it. There's no feeling like being able to play DDR on a hard pad every day for as long as you want without having to pay. It's well worth the initial money, and the small issues are pretty standard on many gaming items. I have a feeling I'd still be shelling out $20-50 every few weeks or months if I continued to try to use the soft/semi-hard pads.

Let me write here and I think it would be helpful so review (but of course) English only.

It is a review for those who have lived in Japan for us, that, I want you to ship to Japan.

It is the flow of the ship from the first order, while they also took several hundred dollars just another controller carriage, for the U.S. Amazon will do the shipping, this controller requires only about 1000 yen.

I was able to get this controller so in about 18000 yen.

Were to be with, take about 4 days to 2 weeks to arrive from the ship, the goods arrived in 5 days from order.

Ease of purchase, I truly think Amazon.

Thoughts as a controller.

I'm playing with Stepmania connected to the PC. (The judgment is easier to fit)

Therefore, delay, etc. I do not know.

Reaction of the panel itself and you can enjoy a comfortable DDR without well, slipping out just freeze arrow.

The reviews often feel that you step on, sinking, feeling like stepping crawl to a feeling that the switch is attached to the base or to.

However, in order to grasp so sensuously whether or not this is in stepping are stepping in reverse, it is incredibly easy to play.

without moving the controller for the back is machined entirely non-slip, even stepped on Lv17, etc. For the purpose of the current table difficulty, play the music mad comfortable.

However, because you just hooked a leg injury to this screw pile of screws that secure the panel is large, and do it barefoot, shoes it is mandatory.

Because the skin of the sole of the foot is stiff, his Although not hurt, especially AC so playing barefoot regularly, and I do it and be cut definitely towards the ordinary and do it barefoot.

If you want to do with barefoot is recommended that as a measure, replace the screws, etc. purchased at home centers ultra low head screws 5mm.

No longer caught in this, I can with confidence slide step.

I thought that the beginning is painful and there is no bar Naa, the accuracy of the score of AC is far better off now I will go up if you do DDR accustomed to at home without bar.

Please try not hesitate and buy all means those who are, I think I want to do a DDR perfectly at home. It is recommended!

i couldn't get my hands on a cobalt flux so i went with this pad instead:

* three weeks in and the right arrow started to malfunction. i got it working again by removing the panel (four screwed brackets) and cleaning the sensor surface.

* four weeks later the same thing happened to the up arrow. same problem, same solution.

* four more weeks and the down arrow stopped working. i had to add some sheet metal under the panel to get the sensor to start registering again (the trick was that one end had to remain in contact with the metallic frame).

so the sensor design is rubbish (copper plated, activated by foil under the panels), but i think the sheet metal solution (26 gauge, $5 at home depot) will hold up and i plan on redoing all the sensors this way if/when they break down.

other than that the pad is decent:

* it moves a little bit on carpet but nothing worrisome.

* the select and start buttons are located on the control box rather than the pad.

* the arrows don't light up when you step on them.

their website indicates no refunds after 30 days and their tech. support is exactly as useless as you can imagine so be prepared to DIY if you want to get your $230 worth. bottom line is that i would now go with one of the $150 pads instead of this one since i believe they use the same sensor design and would require the same level of maintenance.

Honest reviews on DDRgame Playstation 2 - USB Energy Metal Arcade 3 in 1 Dance Pad

I am running windows 7 64 bit home premium. The instructions below will not be exact for anything but windows 7 but if you're half computer savvy, or know someone who is, it's not a hard translation.

Out of the box my computer registered the buttons for this dance pad as a joystick which eliminates all possibility to do left+right arrows simultaneously and up+down arrows as well. st first i thought it was the sensors were touchy or the control box was broken (which in fact 1 of them was broken and I bought a new one from DDRgame for like $30 which was acceptable for such a high quality dance pad.)

After a few days research and a little tinkering I found that the pad was being discovered as a HD compliant game controller and a unidentified device when i plugged it in even though it was just 1 dance pad. and started working out exactly what I could do to fix it. many people were swearing by this adapter and that cable and this program and that other BS something. I didn't want to have to rig something to make my investment work so I spent my weekend finding a way to fix the problem instead of going around it, and here's what came of my weekend.

INSTRUCTIONS HERE Make sure everything is unplugged.

Go to Start menu>Devices and printers>Plug in your dance pad and watch what changes>right click on the unidentified device that pops up when you plugged in your dance pad>Click properties>Hardware tab(if there are no tabs skip this step)>Click on the USB device>Click properties>Click on change settings>Driver tab>Update Driver>Browse my computer for driver software>Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer>Select USB device>next

READ THIS

It should then merge the two devices into one which works properly. If this does not work on the first try go back to printers and devices click on the new device that represents your dance pad and update all the drivers the same way I just explained. The only difference is when you get to the last step, Make sure you select the same driver name as the one you wanted to update. EX. you update the HD compliant game controller drivers. On the last step choose HD compliant game controller instead of USB device. etc.

For those who want to use StepMania Make sure you remap your dance pad keys (arrows and all buttons) after doing this because the arrows will now be mapped as buttons instead of joysticks and your game won't recognize that you're pressing them until they are mapped properly.

I've had this pad for some months now and it still works to this day. on occasion if i leave it unplugged i'll have to go back and reset the drivers again but all the buttons and arrows are just as responsive as day 1 even after months of daily use by two teenage 200 pound boys with their shoes on. I have 2 of these pads and couldn't be happier.

I ordered two of these units to replace an aging metal pad I bought ages ago. I've had these for a few months, and darned if they can't take abuse. I wear shoes when I play, and these things take it like a champ. They're very sensitive, the control boxes are sturdy, and there isn't much interference. I use this on a PS2 for DDRMAX and DDRMAX2, as well as In the Groove on PS2 and PC (StepMania on PC as well). I can't vouch for the Gamecube or Xbox connectors.

The buttons are slightly recessed, which is good, and the corners are protected with metal plates. I would recommend against playing on these with just socks on -you'll slip and cut your foot open on the corner.

Wonderful buy. I plan on keeping these for a very long time.

Another great game by Rockstar. It definately continues to push the envelope of what topics, language, and graphics are included within an "M" rating. For an adult gamer, who is not interested in cute pixie Japanese anime or warlocks/wizards/dragons...this is quite refreshing.

Gameplay covers a fair amount of the traditional GTA topics and missions. The passers-by are more varied and realistic in their portrayals. Some major differences my friends and I discovered:

1) A lot easier to pick up wanted level. And intially, until you figure out what/how to do things, harder to drop the wanted level.

2) Repeat mission capability makes it great when you wanted to show someone else that great line, inside joke, or just really fun event without having to do major amounts of 'save games'.

3) The entire map is open immediately...no road construction or police barricades to prevent you from entering an area until a certain story point. I was able to sneak into the headquarters of NOOSE (ultimate cop area) and fly a helicopter within the first 20 minutes of play.

4) Utilizing other platforms (mobile phone app, "GTA V Online) and integrating them into the game is nice. Lots of potential for future content and for other games to emulate.

Great game, has a few bugs that need ironed out. And a little bummed multplayer isn't here until Oct. 1st. This fall is a huge time for gaming. With Batman, Battlefield 4, COD: Ghosts, Assassins Creed IV, and WatchDogs (not to mention the next gen. systems) there is almost something for everyone. Bottom line get this, solid game.

I love this game for the PC. Great graphics, engaging and evolving story, and a good old crash your armies togehther RTS. This game makes for a very difficult transition to the XBox 360 the controls are very complex and without any real quick keys makes for an insanly difficult learning curve espically in the heat of battle trying to remember what controls do what. My advice if you want this game: get it for the PC.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I read alot of reviews for this game and heard it had over complicated controls which made the game unplayable, I enjoy the warhammer universe though I am new to it, so I bought the game to see for myself. The first thing I did was play through the tutorial which goes over the controls very well and though I was a bit confused at first, it didnt take away from the game and I was slaughtering armies easily using the controls within an hour. This game is very fun, some parts may be harder the others but through a little bit of strategy you can easily overcome even the hardest task. One very glaring problem with the game is the graphics, I wasnt bothered during most parts but playing the Empire campaign made it very clear where this game is lacking, the cutscenes are terrible for that campaign and I felt like skipping everytime one would start, Though I didnt notice it as much in the chaos or orc storylines. I havent played online skirmish, but the skirmish vs the computer is pretty good, you can customize your army, and play as a bunch of different armies. Overall I enjoyed this game very much.

TL;DR

Good: Gameplay is fun, Characters are good, Customizable Armies.

Bad: Controls take a little while to get used to, Graphics.

Honest reviews on Warhammer: Battle March - Xbox 360

I bought this game for my nephew (who is 14) and he played it over at my house. First off...the graphics in the first scene to start the game were great. They were like the pictures that Amazon has shown. But then the game started and the graphics changed. On my parents standard tube tv they were horrible. On my plasma, they were better, but still not very good at all. And then the cutscenes during the games were hideous!...even on my plasma. I have no idea why they wouldn't use the same type of graphics for all the cutscenes. Now he hasn't played a whole lot of it, b/c he doesn't even like the game play...but maybe it includes some more good graphics later.

The game play...so lousy. It was boring, and so repetitive. It is a war/battle sim...and not a good one. Granted, like I said before, he hasn't played very far into the game. But that was because he got so bored, and disliked the graphics (especially the HORRIBLE cutscenes) that he had no desire to play it any further. I've played battle sims before, and I couldn't even watch this one for very long.

The voices...INCREDIBLY annoying. They repeat the same thing 5 times in a row...and the same voice cuts itself off. I had to turn the sound down while it was being played. And sometimes when they talk...it looks like the old Japanese voice overs where their mouths are moving and it doesn't go with the voices at all. It reminded me of old school video games..and not good ones.

I would definitely recommend renting this game BEFORE you buy it. It may just save you $50-$60. Or if you really want to buy it to try it, definitely get it used. Its not worth the full price at all. You can get it used for around $20 on ebay if nothing else (I checked b/c he disliked it so much he doesn't want to keep it).

You have been warned. Those people claiming this game is fun or the best warhammer game are lacking some chromosomes and/or have never played a good strategy game. First off, the controls are hideous... NOT just a 'bit awkward'. Second of all, in order to see what is going on you have to be zoomed out so far that the game has no detail (not that zooming in helps much there either). I have played the same board like 15 times because even when you beat a board it doesn't save unless you complete a series of boards which the game claims as a level (I am assuming, as I have played the same 3 boards over and over and finally threw the game into the corner as it seriously isn't worth the time or effort). The game is incredibly repetitive. The overly repeated vocal tracks alone can drive you nuts. All in all... this game will be $9 in under 6 months.

...

I do own both these game and have played them extensively and let me put down what I think I like about both games so that it could help you decide which one to buy. Personally, I would recommend buying both :

First let me start off my saying both are excellent games but both are truly 2 different games. For those of you who are use to madden, dont think you can jump right in and play nfl2k3, and vice versa, both play completely different.

Madden2003:

-----------

This game is more for the casual football player. Madden is very polished and has options galore. If your into stat tracking, Madden is the game for you then. This game is very deep in all areas which will appeal to many people. It is truly the game for the person who just wants to pick up and play and not really have to think football. It is more of a family game in some aspects because of it's simplicty.

Plus':

-----

Graphics : Very good graphics, player models are done uniquely and stadiums are dead on perfect in this game. Also nice touches to the field textures and postplay animations. The game is very polished graphically, it really looks like a masterpiece.

Gameplay : very easy to pick up gameplay. Momentum based physics adds a lot to this game where it keeps the game realistic in terms of how players get hit and how they respond to tackles. This is truly more of an offensive minded game and that equates to more fun for some. Stat tracking is the best bar none in madden and the options can't be matched in any other game.

Sound : The football sounds and extra sounds are done very well in this game. Al Micheals and John Madden give the game a professional feel when annoucing althougth sometimes they get reptitive.

Minus'

-----

The only drawback in this game would be that the game is more cpu based than user based. So you can do everything right but if the cpu decides that it wants to complete a pass this down, well , it'll complete a pass that down. Sometimes the game may feel a bit too scripted.

---------------------------------------------------------------

NFL2K3

-------

This game is truly for the football minded technician or football minded coach. In this game, you have to know how to read the defensive formations, the kind of offensive plays you run, and the kind of players/teams you control. The best word I can use to describe this game is INTENSITY, because it is truly like you are playing an NFL game. This game is more of a user based game, so everything is up to the player rather than the computer to succeed. It's like putting your football mind into each player you control.

Plus':

GRAPHICS : Excellent player models and stadiums. Uses the ESPN license so it's based off of SPORTSCENTER and ESPN telecast, very profesional tv style look to it. Excellent Animations. Excellent player faces.

GAMEPLAY : More user based than cpu based. You must know football to win at this game. It's more of a head coaches game controlling the players which adds intensity and sense of professionalism to it. Passing and running the ball must be done correctly or you will eat turf. Defense is incredibly protrayed in this game where user can control any aspect of the defender. Gameplay wise this is more of a Defensive minded game.

Sounds : Top Notch second to none. The annoucers in this series have always been excellent and you really like to listen to them. Football sounds are done well too and crowd variance is teriffic.

Minus':

Only drawback for some could be that the learning curve for this game is very high. Don't expect to get this game and figure it out in a few minutes. You can't just mash buttons together and expect to win. It is truly for the football fanatic.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Well I hope this helps. Again, I would recommend buying both games since they play so different. I would compare these to games to say buying either a BMW or a MERCEDES. Both are great cars but have their own unqiue qualities to them that make them great rides. Enjoy!

Being a die-hard Madden series gamer, I must put in my two cents, and hopefully get this game into the hands of one more Madden fan.

I have played Madden since the early days of its creation. To this day, I haven't found a better simulation of the NFL and its players. You see, if you are truly an NFL fan, then Madden 2003 is the game for you without a doubt. Simulation. That point can't be stressed enough. Most people argue that the game has nothing "new" or it hasn't changed the style of the game. However they couldn't be more wrong. That's why the game is so great, they know how to do what they do, and they do it the best. Madden doesn't have to add new things each year, they simply improve on last year's edition. Being a true Madden and NFL fan, I enjoy more than anything improvements on small details. This is what I can't wait for in this newest edition...

*Mini-camp to see who really deserves to start and who should be cut.

*More options when creating a team; more colors, improved originality in designs, an extensive gallery of logos.

*Online play

*An even better system for passing...more accurate lobs/bullets.

*An engine that runs a little faster adjusting it more towards reality...last years was a little slow with player reactions/movements.

You simply cannot re-invent football, it is what it is. You can only improve how close to real it is each year. There is a reason this happens to be a number-one seller year after year. Give it a shot, you just may find it addicting. Have fun!

What's not to like about Madden? Well I feel that there are still flaws in the gameplay that have been around for the last 2 years that haven't been fixed.

1) Fieldgoals and punts by computer. The computer is money all the time. 58 field goal in a blizzard with a 15 mph cross wind? No problem. The football doesn't just creep over the bar either , it clears by 20 yards! I swear the computer could hit a 70 yarder. This is unrealistic.

2) Blocking punts or field goals. This is impossible. I have never seen this on PS2 and I play alot! Given that this is quite a regular occurence in the real game and was possible on Sega genesis version of Madden in the early 1990s this is rather strange.

3) Hard too run between tackles. Good yardage in this area is still tough going. I can't remember the last time I ran over a linebacker and busted a big gain down the middle. You always seem to get gummed up behing your offensive line.

4) Have you ever seen a defensive lineman engage his opposite number and then immediatly fall backwards on the ground with his legs and arms in the air like a dead ant? This happens frequently, especially on pass protection. Often 3/4 of my defensive line are on the ground a second or 2 after the snap!! You would think they were 150 weaklings.

5)Wide receivers still not able to get good separation from dbs. Often u will connect on a long pass as your man gets behind db, only to be tackled after a step or 2. There is not enough YAC.

If they could fix these problems I would have given it 5 stars. However the game has been improved in many areas , and overall is more realisitic. Still worth it.

Honest reviews on Madden NFL 2003

Madden 2003 has hit the stores and I have to say that this year Madden will be the cream of the crop. I have played '03 and I am impressed by the great improvements in the AI and computer teams. Never again will I have a 16-0 season in the franchise more.

The biggest and best change in this game has to be the addition of the preseason in Franchise mode. I love the fact that you can play your rookie to see who's scouting report was good and who was slightly off. Going along with that when you draft players this year you do not see their ratings, just a scouting report with a projected round and some comments like "This guy will tackle everything in sight!" This is a great improvement as it makes the franchise mode much more difficult and more realistic.

The addition of the mini-camp mode is fun and will help you fine-tune some skills that are hard to practice in game mode or in the practice mode. I also think that the addition of Al Michaels is great!

The one thing that I could have done without is the half-time cheerleader show. There is nothing more boring than computer generated cheerleaders doing the same dance each half time!

All in all another great game from EA Sports!! Don't miss this one, as there are enough new changes to keep anyone interested until Madden 2004 comes out!

The Madden series gets better every year and this edition is the best ever

GRAPHICS amazing. Players look exactly as they do in real life their height, weight, face, even equipment accessories such as gloves and arm bands

SOUND satisfactory. John Madden & Al Michaels are much better than the old Madden & Summeral tandem. Plus the commentary is more timely now. For example, instead of the default "great touchdown" they will say something situationally relevant like "that's his second touchdown today"

GAMEPLAY perfect. The game runs slow enough that you can actually read blocks, watch the defensive coverage develop, etc. Its amazing to run the ball and actually follow a pulling guard, versus other games where you just look for daylight

OVERALL amazing game. Not only do you get the typical game mode, but you also get mini-camp mode and 2-minute drill which are brief and highly addictive. And best of all ONLINE PLAY! That's right, you can challenge anyone in the world to a game of Madden at anytime

I have bought this product and was very unhappy to find that it is not powerful enough to start my Xbox. As soon as the hard drive starts to spin up, it shuts the power down. When I try a more power hungry hard drive, it does not even spin up; the green LED stays lit less than a second after I turn the Xbox on.

I do not recommend this product.

Honest reviews on NEW XBOX Replacement Parts Power Supply 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5

Will not work as is with any 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5 version Xbox as advertised since it dose not supply the required crossover cable. The power supply I recieved is for the original version 1.0 1.1 unit. This power supply has the 10 wire connector (single row plug). Versions 1.2 1.5 systems use a 20 wire connector which is double row. Although this power supply will run all the systems (with the expection of version 1.6) it does not come with the crossover cable/connector needed. I had to order the crossover from another company.

Note: Other companies that sell this item supply the crossover when it is for versions 1.2-1.5. This unit should have been $8 dollars cheaper.

Had a power supply failure on my first Xbox, swapped out old with new and it worked great. Glad to see that they are selling more original Xbox power supplies on Amazon. A lot cheaper to replace then an entire console.

Swapped this power supply on two different consoles, one was a regular console and the second was a modified console. Both worked the way it should. My modified Xbox had an 500 gigabyte hard drive with a Xenium mod chip.

I would recommend, but just be careful of who you are buying it from. Do not buy from low rated sellers and always ask for their refund policies before buying.

This is the one game that I would play day in and day out, for more than a year. The one game where I discovered something new almost every time I played. It was the one game which brought me and my friends together religiously at least 3 or 4 times a week. Somehow it just wouldn't die, no matter how hard we tried.

At first, it just seemed so standard and bland. Playing muliplayer for the first time, I had problems finding guns and felt confused and bored running through the Temple level. soon, somehow, something clicked, and me and my friends ended up playing it for about 4 hours straight. Towards the end of that introductory marathon Goldeneye session, we took our first stride out of the standard Deathmatch restrictionincreasing my character's health to its highest limit and my friends fighting against me. Thus we coined the "God" mode, and we played this variant to death in the coming months.

It didn't end there. We had fests where we would do nothing but attack each other with punches. We bought a bunch of video cable and conected three televisions together to form a sort of splitscreen, LAN-type mode, covering up other player's screens so we wouldn't know where the other players were. We playedthe Team mode constantly, refining our knowledge of the levels and our marksmanship. Fed up with auto-aiming, we turned it off and further honed our skills. I began to be able to play the Complex level in my sleep. Proximity mines soon became an addiction. We pushed the game to its limits, learning that we could move the ammo boxes, shields, and guns around by shooting them, thus reworking their positions and creating large stockpiles in team games. We began to use Gameshark to unlock multiplayer maps that weren't intended for the final version, as well as increasing the limits on two and three player maps to four players. We discovered a code that turned one player invisible, and proceeded to do hunter-hunted scenarios over splitscreen.

Basically, it was the first game to really show limitless possibilities. It was a revolution for first-person shooters, and so many have overlooked this fact. It was the first to have targeting of individual body parts, over 20 weapons to choose from, realistic glass, shooting out of lights, and bullet holes, and for its time fairly revolutionary AI. All in all, it was an experience that defined video games for me, and few if any have matched it with a similar addictive experience.

Well,I'm a video-game player from Germany and I review GoldenEye here because unfortunately, this game is banned here in Germany.

OK,I bought this game 1998 and never really put it out of my hands.Last week,I erased a game file and started a new game after months and I have to say that this wonderful piece of video-game history is definitely the best game for Nintendo 64-ever!I like it even more than its inofficial sequel Perfect Dark. Even if you play the game hundreds of times, some missions are still hard to finish in the 00 Agent-difficulty.

The graphics are quite good and the animations of Bond's enemies are great! And altough the sound power of the N 64 is not that good,GoldenEye has music pieces that would be suitable for a 007-movie.Even the original Bond-intro and a new version of the 007-theme are included in this game!

But you have to mention the multiplayer mode, too,of course!I can tell you:if four friends sit in front of GoldenEye,you won't even recognize how many hours pass!

Even if this game is more than two years old,I highly recommend to buy this product if you don't already have it!

I don't see why people are giving Velvet Assassin such bad reviews. Yeah, it's not an 'action' stealth game like Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid, but it holds it's own as being a WWII game that DOESN'T involve being in the frontlines.

I've been needing a stealth game for my 360 and Velvet Assassin fits the case perfectly. It's a surprisingly simple stealth game-for some this is good and others this is bad. If you're looking for a stealth game where you get to use gadgets and gizmos as well as climb up walls, use grappling guns ect...turn away now, for Velvet Assassin has none of this. Nope. In this game all you have are your wits to get you through.

You start out discovering that Violet is in a coma in a hospital. Where she is exactly, you don't know-but it's explained as you play along. You then enter memories of the first mission-which is basiclly a tutorial level.

Stealth is extremely simple. Stay in the shadows(and silent), and you're safe. Sneak behind an enemy and pull off as many silent kills as you can. Not only do these look sweet, but you can keep a low profile while doing so.

Firearms are based off real WWII weapons, and ammo for each one is EXTREMLEY limited, so you don't want to waste any shots unless you have to. I've read some reviews from people saying that they don't use the weapons...I seriously have NO clue how that's possible-I find myself needing to use them time and time again for silent headshot kills as well for blasting my way through enemies when the time is right.

You upgrade Violet by finding collectables in each mission. In some missions there are hidden objectives and precious collectables that will chalk you up with a TON of experiance points, so it's good to explore as much of the area as you can. Yes, gameplay is extremely linar-but that didn't bother me at all. I actually liked it due to the fact that whenever I play Splinter Cell I ALWAYS get lost and frustrated. Velvet Assassin dims down the 'frustrating lost' vibe by being linar.

Graphics are-I'll admit-not the greatest out there, but I'm not really one who nickpicks that sort of thing. I play on a standard 24 inch 480pi TV-and the game looks fine to me. Someone commented on the frame rate being bad, but I didn't notice anything. I guess if you're really picky about those sorts of things then you'd notice them.

The Morphine Mode in Velvet Assassin is pretty cool. Violet has the ability to use Morphine to stop time in all missions (except for missions 11 and 12) thus enabling her to pull off kills from the front or get the heck out of there. The screen glows white and Violet is in her nightgown (I'm not sure why...fits the mood, maybe?) with red blood cells floating everywhere. Weird...but cool at the same time.

The enviorments in Velvet Assassin are a mixture between boring and downright scary. The first mission is pretty boring. Once you hit the 'Third Man' mission things get sorta creepy. His mission 10 and you'll find yourself in a creepy little town where Nazis have killed and strung about innocent people. Mission 12 hands down has the scariest envoirment in the entire game.

This really isn't a problem as it is a surprise. I was rather shocked to see that Velvet Assassin actually has dead children in gameplay. It's nothing gory or anything by all means-but this is the first game I've played that actually has children in a village...ya know, where children should be? Every other game that I've played that takes place in a location that SHOULD have children-doesn't. This really did come as a surprise to me though. It's not bad, it's just unsual.

Personally I found Velvet Assassin to be quite fun. I was always eager to see where Violet would go next-and if she would ever wake up. (Oh, and her voice actor is really good) I enjoy the simple stealth system and found it fun to whistle-get someone's attention, and then stealth kill him for his stupidity. But I'm just the kind of person who has a knack for patience-and I don't need a flashy storyline to entertain me. Like I said, if you're looking for an 'action-packed' stealth game then I suggest you stay clear of Velvet Assassin, cuz this isn't the game for you.

Velvet Assassin takes place in WWII and you will play as a Violet a Female assassin working for the British. You will perform several stealth missions and most are fun and rewarding. You're given multiple ways to get through an area. You'll kill most enemies silently with your knife. The Game does provide several areas where other more entertaining options are available to dispose of your foes. A fine example is pulling the pins on an unsuspecting soldier's grenade. You can also use morphine as a super instant kill in certain areas. It gives the player a way out of sticky areas. The game plays well and most of the checkpoints won't have you going to far if you mess things up. The AI isn't very bright in this game. When considering the small confines most of the missions are played in it serves its purpose. The game provides a nice history and story of WWII and if you listen to the text German conversations you get a small glimpse of how terrible the war was.

Now for the bad part, the gunplay is just plain terrible and severely hampers a few areas. Particularly the last levels in the game where they decided to remove most of the darkness and the morphine power. The game also has a glitch in which cut scenes won't play and you'll be unable to proceed without a complete reload. I did find that if you go into your dashboard and select the option to load the game to your hard drive and select the play from the hard drive will remedy this problem.

Velvet Assassin is a good stealth game with a nice historical perspective. If you enjoy stealth games like Splinter Cell or the Hit man series you'll find this an enjoyable title.

Good

Fun stealth action

Nice historical story setting

Bad

Terrible gunplay ruins some sections and hampers the games final levels

Some spots require many tries to master.

Glitches with cut scenes not playing

Best Deals for Velvet Assassin - Xbox 360

In the spirit of spinter cell.

Overall, Velvet Assassain is a great old school stealth game.

Great, vivid, eerie environments combined with a constant sense of hostility makes a beautiful gaming experience fit for only those with long attention spans.

If you enjoyed the original Splinter Cell or any of the Hitman games, this one will not dissapoint.

Just have an open mind.

Honest reviews on Velvet Assassin - Xbox 360

Velvet Assassin has fun stealth sequences, detailed environments, fresh stealth ideas. It does contain flaws, as many games do, all of which are minor, the controls are good, contrary to what I have seen other reviewers say, I rented it first because I was unsure sbout it, from what I have seen of it review wise, I was expecting, crap. But it is nothing of the sort. It is an interesting, fun stealth game.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Velvet Assassin - Xbox 360

First of all, I purchased this item from Amazon brand new. I read all the reviews and I was liking the idea of a simple yet fun game that is not to long as I only get to play games maybe an hour or two a week.

The game play was enjoyable but I have never played a game that was so full of bugs and glitches. Before I get into the glitches, let me tell you that I tried downloading the game to the hard drive to see if that would help but it actually made things worse. I tried playing this game on two different Xbox 360. I have an older model and the new Xbox 360 S. I had the same glitches on both.

The glitches. Enemies would freeze in place often after they were alerted to my presence. Often with their guns pointed up in the air. I could just walk up and slay them. Cut scenes wouldn't play when they were supposed to. I figured this out when I went online to figure out why I was stuck. I would finish a level but the game wouldn't move on and I would be stuck reverting back to a checkpoint or starting the level over. The final straw was the last level. I would defeat the last group of enemies but the final cut scene wouldn't play but I could hear the final speech by my character. I can't even get credit for finishing the game because it won't recognize that I beat the last level. Again, I saw a video of someone completing the game on YouTube so I made sure I was doing everything correctly.

Here are some examples of cut scenes not loading or levels not ending.

One level you have to take out a target in a cathedral. Once I climbed to the top and defeated him, the level would not end. I tried 3 times before it finally loaded the cut scene and ended the level.

One level you have to locate a hotel, climb a tower and sniper an explosive barrel to kill another target. Once you kill the target, you have to escape and cross the lake again. After I shot the barrel, the cut scene wouldn't load and it wouldn't let me cross the lake. I re-played that level about 5 times before it finally showed the cut scene that allowed me to finish the level.

The level where you first come across a sniper, a cut scene is suppose to play but wouldn't load. The last level when you are walking up the hill to the church, another cut scene is suppose to play but wouldn't load. I already mentioned the final cut scene in the game when your character is scratching at the church door wouldn't load. The character would say the last lines while still in game play mode but the level wouldn't end when she was done.

I really tried everything I could but I finally had to give up. No matter how many times I tried or on what system, I couldn't get the last cut scene to play. Very disappointing game in that aspect. The game play was fun and enjoyable but to have to sit and replay areas until the game was working right, took away a lot of enjoyment.

I understand this game is not meant for the hardcore fans but for people that enjoy the 2nd rate games or don't have a lot of time to play like myself, this game should be good but I can't give a good review on game that is full of glitches. Where were the software testers? Did they honestly think it's ok to put out a game with all these glitches? Big thumbs down.

I would not recommend this game. I know I read some other people ran into glitches in other reviews, but I never thought a game would be this bad with glitches.

After trying most of the wheels out there(own eight) this one has been the best. The wheel is only jerky if you use the parallel connection supplied. I advise not to us it. Use the USB connection and the wheel has no jerkyness like the analog wheels do. If you've run Nascar heat then this wheel is a must. With Nascar heat an analog wheel will put you in the wall constantly. Pro Digital solves that problem. Overall this wheel, if set up correctly is the best....yes Ive used the others.

I purchased the Thrustmaster Pro and it took me almost 3 weeks of trying to finally install this wheel. I even had the help of the company that I purchased my computer from. Every time I tried to install the wheel the program would let me in just a little further. All that the Tech help would do was to ask me the same questions over and over. I like the wheel, but will think twice before buying another product from then. I wish that if any computer magazine that rates a product should include Tech Support.

Best Deals for Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Digital (Serial/USB)

If you have WindowsXP you can expect it to hardly work. Under Win9x or Win2k the driver console was good enough to correct the problems associated with the wheels controls in most games. However in WindowsXP the drivers are horrible, the control console is not included any more leaving this product crippled.

TECH SUPPORT is horrible. I had to email them 6 times and only after I included several other departments did I even get a response. Then I was told that if it worked in one game it would work in all but this is simply not true. Of the six game I have purchased over the last year and a half, its only worked correctly in One under WindowsXP.

In the time span I have had this wheel, friends have bought cheaper Logitech and Microsoft Products and have NEVER had a single issue under any operating system. Its obviously the wheels drivers, yet Thrustmaster will not acknowledge this fact and continues to sell this product.

I [bought]it almost 2 years ago and have hardly been able to use it. The driving games I bought in that time were also a waste of money since I was unable to play them. I have finally decided to buy a new wheel since Thrustmaster has refused to do anything. I bought a Logitech brand. Its excellent and works with everything.

Honest reviews on Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Digital (Serial/USB)

My son ordered this, which advertised that it had a USB port connection. Turns out, it has an old monitor-type screw-in connection: totally incompatible with modern computers and modern computer games. This thing probably belongs in a video arcade, for which it would work great. We have not heard back from the supplier, which did not provide a return address or even a proper return email address. We have not received any help from Amazon, either, which should warn people about suppliers like this.

i never really ever played any of the halo games till this one. i never thought about buying halo 3 until i saw that it was only about 5 or 6 dollars, so i bought it. it said it was the spanish editiion, and this isnt really a selling point for me, i guess thats why it was so cheap. since im mexican, i didnt really care if it was in english or spanish as i can read and understand both spanish and english. now on to the actual review. all the menus and options and stuff are all in ENGLISH. the only thing that is in spanish is the case, the manual, and the dialogue in campaign mode. the campaign also translates just about everything that is said during the campaign, especially the objectives. online is awesome. there are atleast 15 modes and not including downloadable maps, the game comes with like 12 maps and you can download 2 maps for free from the marketplace. overall, i thought i wouldnt like halo games, but now that ive played this one, im planning on getting the new one thats coming out soon. :)

An awesome game, no doubt about it, but it gets even better when you play through the campaign with Spanish dialogue. The Chief, or "Heffe," growls like an ultra-macho Antonio Bandaras, and Cortana's latin voice actor puts WAY more emotion into her lines than her english counterpart. So if you want Halo 3 to play out like a Telemundo Telenovela, pick this up.

Also, all of the menus and the multi-player experience are in english. If you're primarily looking to play some matchmaking, this is a great deal. The foreign language editions (also available in french) are usually half the price of the english edition.

Best Deals for Halo 3 - Spanish Version (Xbox 360)

Buying spanish edition is a steal even for English speakers who know some Spanish since only the campaign dialogue is in Spanish. The menus are alm English by default. Its a lot of fun to hear a deep voiced master chief speak spanish though. The price was cheaper than any English version of the game I looked at.

Honest reviews on Halo 3 - Spanish Version (Xbox 360)

Halo 3 is my favorite game! Playing the Spanish version is like playing it again for the first time!

The Spanish voice acting is great, and the menus and subtitles are still in English (Because of my 360's language setting)

I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Halo and is taking or took a Spanish class at some point! ^_^
