I began having the symptoms of the RROD on my March 2007 Xbox console with GPU Rhea. It first shut down with an E74 error. Then started randomly freezing. Then colors started showing and graphical glitches started appearing. It was apparent my GPU was overheating. Then my console RROD once, but after cooling worked fine.

So I ordered this kit. Took about 1 week to arrive. Cam in a small manilla envelope and the parts were in small plastic bags. Came with "generic" cleaner and purifier that smelled a lot like lemon juice, much like you clean stainless steel grills off with. The cleaner bottle came with the sides squeezed in. No liquid escaped though. The kit included a website that you navigate to to get to the instruction PDF. The book wasn't as detailed as expected and some things you would have to imagine such as prying the X-Clamp off.

I have had previous knowledge on installing parts on and disassembling the Xbox 360. Following the instructions, it took about 25-30 minutes to install this kit. the T8 screwdriver was a bit small. Seemed like a T7 and could have caused stripping of the screws if you dont have an regular sized screwdriver.

As stated in a previous review, the screws attach through the motherboard and not the metal casing. The screws slightly raise the motherboard up causing you to tighten down the metal casing screws causing potential bowing. Also uses the overheating method to the GPU, which is potentially hazardous.

Console works like a charm for now. Will attempt to update if problems arise. I assume the last reviews haven't had issues, I shouldn't.

The Low Down: Pros$20 for a $200 system repair.

All tools included needed. No soldering, no hardware mod.

Includes Arctic Silver 5, an amazing heat dissapating compound I use on my Intel Core i7.

ConsCauses bowing in the motherboard

Instructions needs internet and are at times unclear.

Uses overheating method which may cause worse problems.

4/5 Rating, Recommended.

Took a little bit longer than they say, but I was more careful than most. Directions are good and easy to follow, but just a tip for some extra help search what your trying to do on Youtube for a visual of the process. My Xbox was just over 3 years old(barely out of the warranty) and it red ringed. I plan on buying a better fan and possibly a core cooler to keep it longer. Great fix, I will update if anything happens again in the near future..... I hope it doesn't.

I ordered this kit, because I had a xbox 360 that would turn on fine, but would freeze after 10-20 seconds or when I inserted a disc. I wasn't sure if this product was the solution for this problem, since I didn't have the 3 red lights, but I figured it was worth a shot. I just finished fixing my xbox 360, following the instructions provided (the kit comes with url's for two pdf files that contain the steps for fixing the system). It took me about 1.5-2.0 hours from start to finish (I was taking my time on certain steps), I fired up the system and it was working beautifully. I tested the system for a little bit before I completely reassembled the console. The temperature radiating from the heatsink was very much reduced. I reassembled the system completely and started it up once more, it seems to be working great. I will put the system through more rigorous tests, but I seriously doubt there will be any over-heating issues.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 XCLAMP Repair Kit - 3 Red Light X-Clamp Fix w/ 3.5g Arctic

so this kits works for sure, however it comes with 8 bolts, when you put motherboard back into case the 8 new bolts line up perfectly with the 8 mini black torx screws and the torx actually go into the head of the new bolts. When this happens it makes it so that you cannot take apart your xbox easily the next time. I had to drill out all 8 torx screws to fix this problem. I suggest not using the 8 black torx screws and drilling out the old holes for them to allow the new bolts to slide further down in the metal case which will allow the motherboard to sit in a more natural position.

I bought the XL edition, having owned both GT3 and GT4 and having never played GT5. The game is as fun and challenging as I expected and there is a huge variety of tracks and cars and events. The game itself is good and the only complaint that I have would be the load times, which are frequent and long enough to really distract from the game itself.

As far as the XL edition specifically is concerned, it probably wasn't the best choice for me. It was nice that all of the game updates were included etc etc and most of the XL content is great but the fact that so many good cars were included right at the beginning of the game actually kind of ruined the game for me. I instantly took the Red Bull prototype car (by far the fastest in the game and worth about 20 million credits) and began destroying races in it. I quickly collected millions of dollars, which allowed me to purchase awesome cars for the races which the redbull car couldn't enter.

I say this kind of ruined the game because Gran Turismo, at it's core, has always derived it's pleasure from pain. The pain of being dominated in races because you have neither enough credits nor enough talent to win this race or that. This experience in frustration always challenged me to rise above and save money to upgrade my car and do license tests to improve my skills etc. until I finally, after pouring so much into the game, had the satisfaction of winning that event. Having really fast cars for free has taken most of that experience away. Races are easy when your car can lap the fastest opponent (despite crashing several times). This reduces the need for driving skill and really lowers the overall satisfaction of the game. So, what I've had to do is start trying to find the worst car that I can for each race or series and try to win with that. It brings some of the satisfaction back, but the experience still lacks the underdog feeling that I always got from starting out on the rock bottom and clawing my way to the top.

Overall, the game is great despite inordinately long load times, but if you are like me and always liked GT because of the work involved in mastering it, the XL edition might not be the best choice.

This game was built for a steering wheel! The sense of driving is incredible. A whole lot of subtle details are included. The patches that are in this go a long way to make the game feel more complete than it used to. The graphics have far less glitches. The sense of speed is spot on. They've improved the driving on the different sets of tires. Each one presents its challenges. And the biggest thing that made the game are the seasonal events (you have to have an internet connection).

When the game was released, basically you either won by a mile or you lost very badly. There was little in between. The seasonal events have really improved on this. Rewarding you for using underpowered cars. which is important because there's a whole lot of cars that you wouldn't want to use in gran turismo because they are so low powered.

When they released it, it was obvious they were going for "we'll do all the cars on the planet!!" and included vans and all kind of stuff. Then very quickly budget and timne constraints caught up with them. So you have a strange selection. Luckily the high powered cars you select are all fantastic. This is because every car handles differently on the steering wheel. Some of my favorites are the ferari 458, the maserati gran turismo, mini cooper, the mercedes 300sl, and number 1 is the tvr speed 6. My word.

Every car handles differently and handles beautifully. The game has that magic especially if you play on low spec'd sport tires. Struggling to maintain control of your car you have to carefully maintain throttle and braking taking into account slopes and elevations on a track, slippery sections. Incredible. You steer into a tough curve and let go of the throttle, big mistake, the physics kick in and your car understeers. Your car over steers twisting the steering wheel out of your hands, big mistake, grab onto that sucker and counter steer yanking the car into the right position! You went over a slight hill and the rear wheel lost traction, you felt it in the steering wheel (how?!?)

The premium cars are gorgeous and handle fantastic. The standard cars finally have a (sort of) interior which made me race in them. They also handled quite well. The premium cars are where it's at. Simply gorgeous. Racing in the interior cockpit is really something. I wish I had a 3dtv , because I can already tell how amazing it's going to be.

This game is sheer magic. But, and here's the big deal, be prepared to spend a lot (and I mean a lot!) of time before it becomes fun. It really becomes fun when you have most of the cars and are good enough when you race the cars for fun to try them out, not when you are trying to win the races for money. So I would say at least 1 to two weeks before the game gets fun. Damage doesn't turn on until you get to aroudn level 30 which is sad because it's great and reflects in the steering wheel. It's a hard game and the seasonal events are way it's at. Enjoy it. Get yourself a steering wheel. You will feel everything from bumps to traction loss to the steering wheel reacting realistically. I drove this game and I got better at driving my real car. The traction was that good!

Most games I buy, I barely play past a cursory playthrough. I haven't put this one down. All the other ones, NFS shift, Split second, etc are distant seconds to this gem. The realism makes you almost grimace when you play arcade racers. Only Dirt could hold a candle to the physics, and even then just barely :). If you are willing to invest the time and money this game is exactly what you need.

This is an awesome game, even without the xl edition. When you get the XL edition and you get all the updates, go to the store and enter your redeem code. When you do, it ill only show 3 things. I saw this and thought"this isn't what I bought!" Do not fear! install those three things and load up the game. From the main menu you should be able to go to the far right and hit Downloadable Content. Click on that and all of your promised stuff will be there, including the Red Bull X2011 prototype.

I have played every Gran Turismo game, and GT 5 XL Edition should've been better than it is. My favorite was GT 3. The menus in GT 5 are just flat out ridiculous to navigate, and it's like one big jumbled mess. The graphics are nice and I can't complain there. The download times took me about 2 hours to complete. Yes, it's a long time, but it wasn't a big deal to me. It also seems like there were more races/courses in the previous GT games than this one. It just feels like there is alot missing with GT 5 and nothing ever makes you say "wow". Everything you do seems to take longer than it should or that it was easier in the past GT games. Plus, I have 20/15 vision and a 50" plasma TV, and the font is really small and hard to read.

There are A spec races and B spec races. The A spec races YOU are actually the one racing the car, while the B spec races, you are actually the CREW CHIEF and are instructing your driver how to race. YOU DON'T RACE B SPEC RACES!!! In the B spec races (which is half the game) you are literally telling your driver to increase their pace, decrease their pace, maintain their pace, pit, pass the car in front, or nothing at all. That's it!!! For half the game you are literally watching your driver race.

With the cars included in the DLC, you can choose the Red Bull Prototype (which is the best car in the game at 1600+HP), start a B spec race, and then.....go do laundry, vacuum, do the dishes, dust, clean your car, eat something, take the dog out, run to the store, do whatever you want to do, and then come back 20/30/40 minutes later to watch your driver finish the race and come in first. Then repeat for the next race. That is honestly how I completed the B spec races. I actually didn't mind the B spec races, because after completing these races, you do win money and cars that you can use for the A spec races (which are the races that you actually drive the cars and not your driver). Plus, I got work done around the house which pleased my wife. So I was killing two birds with one stone! LOL!

Something else I didn't care for, was that in previous GT games, you could sell the cars you win. In GT 5, I would guess maybe 75%-80% of the cars I won I could not sell? It says it will remove it from my garage, but I cannot sell it. I don't know if removing from my garage permanently removes it from my game, but I'd rather keep it than find out I lost it. Plus, because of all of the DLC cars in my garage, I have completed probably 60%-70% of this game, and only purchased about 10 cars. I have about 90-100 cars in my garage, and I do have about 7 million dollars burning a hole in my GT wallet, but there really hasn't been a need to buy better cars. You either get the best cars with the DLC, or wind up winning them.

Overall, for $20, I have certainly been entertained for hours upon hours, and it is worth it. I think this game could have and should have been soo much better based on the previous GT games. But, if you have enjoyed the past GT games, I would have to recommend this one especially at this price. It's not a bad game, and there are hours of gameplay, but it could've been better. I'm not disappointed with GT 5 XL, and I will buy GT 6. But for $20, why not!?!?!

This game does not deserve a 1 star for a rating! It is a fabulous and fun game!

I won't review the full game, as it's been reviewed before, and this is the gold edition. Instead, I will be reviewing the product being sold as the gold edition, keeping it short and simple so you know what you're getting.

The Good:

*No DRM! The game comes with a serial that you put in when you first install the game. It does not use internet activation. It does not have limited installs. All that it requires is the serial number put in after you first time you start the game. Play the game on all your computers without worry! Thank you!

*It comes with the original Tropico 3 and it's expansion, Absolute Power. They are both on 1 DVD, which makes it a whole lot easier to install and back-up.

*It comes with a full fleshed out manual! I'm disapointed in todays games, a lot never seem to come with manuals. This game comes with a full printed manual that you can read and learn about the game. Lets face it, manuals rock!

*The game comes fully patched with the latest patch.

The Bad:

To be honest, after playing for over 30 hours, I have yet to find anything bad about the game. It is one of the funnest city sim building type games I have ever played. I am finding it very addciting! I missed out on Tropico 1 and 2, and now I'm sorry I did! Tropico is truly a great city sim building game, with it's own unique humor on you being El Presidente.

If you want more information on Tropico 3, read some of the reviews for Tropico 3 here on Amazon. All that I can say, is that The Tropico 3 Gold Edition is a great deal and a great buy!

I've played all of the Tropico games and Tropico3 has excellent graphics and is a beautiful game. However after a while it gets very predictable even before playing through all the scenarios. One thing I definitely dislike about the game is the fact that it seems designed to make you struggle for cash no matter what you do or how you play. (Frankly, I get enough of that in real life.) It seems that expenses are sometimes set to drain the treasury no matter what one does. That is not fun in my book.

I'm glad I didn't pay full price for the game but for what I did pay it is worth many hours of amusement, I just think game play could have been improved to match the beautiful graphics. The Gold Edition is a good buy for those who like these kinds of games.

I love the first game tropico and have dissapointed with tropico 2, but now we back to the basic rules of dictatorship. Now I have plenty hours perfectioning my presidencial skill levels.

This is a really good game with an excelent music too.

This is a light strategy game that is not too complicated to learn for beginners. The graphics are real nice. We would recommend.

If you enjoy constructing a plan of attack with your teammates and rapidly adapting once the shells start flying, you will enjoy this game. If you think the Call of Duty Modern Warfare series is the best thing ever, you will probably hate the pace of this game.

Having played Battlestations Midway, I was very pleased with the improvements to this franchise. The graphical detail and sounds are significantly improved and seem very realistic. The sheer number of units you can control (ships, subs, planes, bases) combined with multiple view points make this game the best WWII RTS/FPS combination on Xbox 360.

There is a definite learning curve for the controls and unit strengths/weakness, but once you master them, the game is very fun. Many of the negative reviews that complain about the game being dull or lacking excitement are way off base. 8 player online matches are anything but dull with dozens of ships battling for bases while squadrons of planes fight overhead. (If your idea of an exciting game is being killed 17 times in 3 minutes, then stick to MW2.)

I would have given this game 5 stars if it wasn't for the multiplayer system. The lobby system doesn't provide much information about other players beyond the host's drop rate. Seeing the player's win-loss record would be very helpful when playing with random people. Another multiplayer issue is the lack of a kicking mechanism once the game begins. (All games should be required to include a kick feature to deal with the thousands of pre-teen trolls that inhabit Xbox Live.) Looking forward to what Eidos comes up with for a sequel...

I had Battlestations midway and I enjoyed the campaign but by the time I bought it there was not really anyone playing online. Battlestations pacific solved this by adding a skirmish mode to the single player. However, there still is online multiplayer which is very fun. Overall it is a good game with good graphics. It is also pretty realistic.

Best Deals for Battlestations Pacific - Xbox 360

Battlestations: Pacific is way better then it's older brother, Battlestations: Midway, with new Planes, new Ships and Better Graphics. In single player mode, you can play as the Americans and relive history, from the Solomon Islands, to Leyte, to Okinawa. or play as the Japanese and rewrite history, fighting "What if" battles. The mulitplayer is great, and if you don't have many skill playing in it, you can sharpen your skills in training and skirmish. all in all, it's a great game that can be played over and over without being boring.

Honest reviews on Battlestations Pacific - Xbox 360

Ive played through both games now. Pacfici is more in depth, detailed and more user friendly than Midway was. This game has more ships, boats and planes than Midway thought of having.

There are also more people who play online than Midway.

The DLC is well worth the extra bonus units and maps.

I first tried out the demo for this game over Xbox Live and found myself captivated by it. I have since bought the full retail version and after 2 years I still find myself putting this one into my Xbox to enjoy the Skirmish Mode or the occasional campaign mission. I have since tried out its predecessor, Midway...but found it lacking overall in polish and in its user interface. If you are looking for a good action RTS on the consoles, BS Pacific is the way to go.

I went ahead and took a chance on these headphones as I was looking for a viable replacement to the Tritton AX720's I had previously owned and given away. As with most gaming headsets, I was going to expect something bulky, yet sturdy since that's kind of the status quo with gaming headsets in general. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of both the headset and the SCU (sound control unit). I was surprised in the sense that the headphones were light, compact, yet appear to be sturdy (no I will not "drop test" them). The SCU likewise is compact, so if spacing is an issue for you, trust me it will not take up much space.

Now to sum up the acoustic quality? It's simply ravishing. I am using this with an Xbox 360, and tested it with games such as Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor. Audio plays a big part in the multi-player gaming experience, since in both games, I was able to hear others try to flank me and I was able get the drop on them first with my team. The sound is crisp and realistic, and supports all the current Dolby platforms, with the exception of Dolby 7.1. Gaming chat is good, if not better than with the standard headset that came with the console. The mic is detachable, flexible, and appears to be quite durable.

Setup of the headphones was really easy, since all the connectivity goes directly to the console. I was also pleased with the fact that it is USB powered, so no need for an additional AC adapter. Thank goodness since all of the outlets on my powerstrip are all occupied.

In conclusion, this headset has got the essentials to meet and even exceed most gamers expectations. It's got a sophisticated/streamlined look and feel, the acoustics are impressive, the setup was a snap, and the overall experience with them thus far is a great one.

Give it a shot sports fans, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I really love this headset so far. Purchased and received last week.

I have been using a pair of Sennheiser HD555's with a 1/4" f to 1/8" m headphone adaptor and plugged into my speakers (setup via stereo). Mic solution: wrapped the standard XBox mic around my neck. Good sound, chat worked after adjusting in-game volumes. Basically it worked and sounded good enough, but the transition to a proper, solid gaming headset is night and day.

PROs:

-The first thing I noticed is how lightweight this headset is. It doesn't bear down on you and the cups don't press on your ears too hard. The cups also do a good job of encompassing your ears.

-Fantastic sound. After a few adjustments (in-line volume lower, SCU volume up), I managed to get this to an appropriate sound level. I did a few Wager Matches in Black Ops to break them in and further configure them. Worked great. Tried Bad Company 2. Wow. Just awesome. Crisp sounds and the bass booms when it needs to. This set has also proven that I will never be able to go back to regular stereo sound, either. Digital is phenomenal.

Side note: I found that turning off the "3D Sound Expander" makes it sound muuuuch better, in my opinion. Perhaps I'm using it wrong, but it was disorienting at times and seemed to create unnecessary echo. Might be better for movies perhaps.

-Configurable to any set up. Has a nice set of manuals for anything you may want to connect the headset to. Plenty of adaptors and the main cables are plenty long to connect with most setups.

-Sturdy design. Even though it's light, it doesn't feel cheap. Mic is tough and flexible as well.

CONS

-Lots of cables. My setup right now has three cables coming out of the SCU and three out of the in-line box (one connecting to the XBox controller for voice). This is probably a product of being so configurable.

Side note: This is actually still a pro for me because I don't want to deal with wireless shenanigans (mainly staying on top of rechargable batteries)

-Mic sensitivity. I haven't done any in-game chatting yet, but I have tested it out in party chat to see when it picks up. I noticed that I had to have the mic pretty close to my mouth for it to register. Again, this may bug people, but personally I do not find it bothersome.

-Also, be sure to know that if you want to use Digital, you will need some sort of Optical output on your Xbox. I was lucky enough to already have the VGA adaptor to game on my PC monitor and that has an optical output.

Just love this headset thus far.

Best Deals for Sharkoon X-Tatic SR Gaming Headset with Dolby Headphone Technology

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I ave actually had several different gaming headsets. I have played on or owned the following headsets.Tritton TRIAX-180 AX 180 Universal Gaming Headset, Tritton TRIAX-720 AX 720 Dolby Digital Surround Sound, Turtle Beach, EarForce X31 Wireless Chat+Gam (Catalog Category: Videogame Accessories / Headsets & Speakers), Ear Force X41 (XBOX LIVE Chat + Wireless Digital RF Game Audio with Dolby Headphone 7.1 Surround Sound), and Ear Force PX5 Programmable Wireless 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Headset with Bluetooth. So I have a little background on gaming headsets.

The first thing that struck me about this headset when pulling it out of the box was the sheer volume of the number of chords included in the packet. Granted, this headset is billed as being versatile and usable on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC but I would have hoped for a much more streamlined set-up across all devices.

In regards to connecting to an Xbox 360. If you have the original 360 design you will need one of two things. Either the AV cable that has a built in Digital Audio Optical Out port or if you are using HDMI you will need a RCA Audio Cable Adapter for XBOX 360 + Slim. If you are using the new Xbox 360 Slim model this won't be an issue as there is now one built into it.

Now, that all that information is out of the way, what do I think about the headset? I actually used it on my 360 and my PC to see if there was any difference.

While using the headset it I noticed right away it was light, but the ear cups seemed just a tad on the small side and didn't allow a lot of breathing room. Sound quality was good but it didn't blow me away. Chat quality on the Xbox seemed to be lacking a little bit. You need the mic very close to your mouth so your friends can hear you. One complaint I have is when game volume goes up (think explosions and such) chat volume does not compensate for it making you need to ask friends to repeat what they said or wait for the game volume to go back down.

At the end of the day you're reading this review to influence one way or another on purchasing this headset or another. So'll I'll give my opinion on that.

If you are looking around this price point for a gaming headset (at the time of writing this review it's over one hundred dollars) then I would like to recommend either the Turtle Beach X41 or the Tritton 720. They both are a stronger quality headset and offer a better gaming headset.

The Sharkoon's have potential to be a decent option but when they are the same price as other headsets that do more and are easier to hook up it doesn't make much sense. If you want to splurge then really take a look at the Turtle Beach PX5. They are programmable and have blue tooth support. It's my current headset and I love it.

This one is just average across the board. It doesn't really disappoint, but it never wowed me either.

SCROLL DOWN FOR JUST FACTS IF NOT READ THE FOLLING ALSO.

well for those who compare them to other headsets such as trittons and then complain about wires, well makes me wonder if you have ever owned trittons because they also have wires "everywhere" so i must discredit any review when i see any kind of review which is tainted by an issue which is also apparent w/ headsets that same reviewer is praising. fact is that these actually come with one less wire, the external power supply, and it just bothers me when someone can rate someones review as helpful when it starts off with discreditting info,

HERE ARE THE FACTS AOUT THESE HEADSETS. for the money they are the best. i have been around a long time, i must say that if i were to pit these against higher end heatsets then the score would suffer a bit but those headsets are more of a "competitive lass" and also range from 250to 600 plus so with that said im basing these on the item itself as well as items in the price range (109 bks for these right now). well to start off i must also say that if i had an extra few bucks i would get the tritton ax pro's which are not insanely priced but also have good speaker config as well as power, but they break.. alot.

when im mgaming at home i use the tritton ax pro's, anything else i will bring my astro's w/me or the "howza's" and funny thing is how i discovered the sharkoons, was gaming at home and yes the trittons pulled a man down, so much that i have a pair of chepo's laying around. but when i got these my first impression was "wow they freakin copied trittons look in every way!!" the 5.1 box was almost identical save color, and the hook up was almost identical.. well i noticed one wore thing which was almost identical, the sound. keep in mind im an old school gamer who likes his comfort zone and his certain products so these were intended to just back up my trittons, but i have found myself using them more the the pros.. not the ax 720's the ax pro's black ops edition. which at the time set me back just a bit over 200.

comparison to all in this class, well ive tried the turtle beach alpha, bravo's and charlies which are just make overs / special editions for the px5 being alpha and the delta's being the "starters", well you got the idea. anyways they blow the sony set's out the water and keep in mind that turtle beaches are marketed and designed for the xbox 360, and then they made other set's which were compat with both, well these can be used on p.c as well. in my honest opinion they are better than the px5's and heres why, wireless sucks when it comes to 3 main items of gaming, mice, keyboards and HEADSETS. the freq unfortunately will interfere with the sound, meaning the sound will drop/cut out here and there, and gamers law is they usually do when its at crucial points of a game, lol.. but seriously i would have to sit directly in front of my 50 in to min the drops, so the whole idea of the headset being bluetooth and it being on different channels etc, bull crap. the box it connects with is the problem. and yes the sound was good, and it does come with a way to download and create presets but many being useless i.e superman hearing and if you are willing to spend 250 then get the astro's.. 30's or 40's will do the job.

the sharkoon is a headset which is in the mid range of headsets, and as much as my midrange must haves/own are the ax pro's these have been a delight to own and use, and yes they have wires. go to a lan party and see how many "pro gamers" are using wireless. anything wireless will have the game lose precision, control, have delay (even if its mili seconds for mouse type devices, it is everything when playing against a person with no delay) so try and stick with wired, console controllers are something else entirely and i enjoy using frags. i will not have it any other way, wired or the highway. yes ive used some very high end devices which do in fact work well, but prepare to pay extra.

the design is nice w/ these, they are not bulky and do not give you red ears of death, game for bout 6 to 8 and your good. the sound quality is not the best ive heard, but again there are crap end, lower end, midrange, high end, higher end and money is no object end. well these fall into lower to mid end as far as the price as it is today, and as far as im concerned they are better or as good as any headset in the under 200 class. but it has flaws, one being with xbox 360 and a mic issue, which has been resolved by investigation aka googling. so everall these are not true dolby 5.1 they are simulated, but they do make a 5.1 and i like these better. the ax pro's also are true 5.1 having 4 speakers in each ear. but i have always been one to say "7.1 simulated? bullcrap" well that was when the 7.1 was a newer breed but i have heard some 7.1 simulated which gave my ears a soundwhoring bomer. bottom line is do the headsets sound good, are they worth the money and are they sturdy and comfy? yes yes and yes. also they are not very heavy and ive used them w/ p.c. and they work well there too. i have used them w/ ps3 and 360. but more or less more with the ps3, but they work well with any gaming device i mention as well as a music player, and they look pretty cool..

for the money these can be argued to be the best or almost or just as good as some which cost more and better than some which cost more..

so what does that say for these?

BOSTONJOHN32 PSN, STEAM bostonjohn617 and 32, company of heroes bostonjohn32, xbox live H4LOG0D 9this one may be in banned state)

happy new year to all

didnt check my spelling, yes it does suck, thats why i dont review spell hecking software or e-readers. trolls would be all over me, lol

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Just received these headphones, had them hooked up to the TV in the den (wife reading book close to me). I will say the sound was awesome like surround all around, great base etc.....great! Next chapter, the grandson comes over with his Xbox, I think that thing is welded to his hip, hooks it up to play for awhile. He spots the Sharkoon headset, as you might expect he conned me into letting him use it, Grrr. He, being a lot younger than I and has much better hearing, was totally impressed with the sound. He thought I would let him borrow it----wrong! I later hooked it up to my wife's laptop, did a little conversation with a friend----no comparison to what I was using. Tried music, oh yes, terrific! I will have to say with my very limited knowledge of electronics and components these are wonderful. I have tried using his Xbox but feel like a total dork, so I will not play with any kid around (I would be the entertainment).

If you are looking for a higher end headset I would absolutely recommend the X-Tatic. I really would like to be a little more technical in this review, but feel that is beyond my scope. I just cannot see how anyone would be disappointed as these are beyond anything I have previously put on my old ears. Tonight I plan to watch a movie in the front room after my wife goes to bed and enjoy not having to hear that the TV is too loud.

LATER:

Watched the movie, unbelievable sound, so much better than the TV---It was like I was right in the middle, hearing sound all around me. Added tremendously to the movie. I enjoyed every minute!

Just purchased my first WII at the new reduced price. Wanted a new shooter that came with it's own gun peripheral. The Top Shot Wii sawed off shotgun peripheral worked well once I got the right configuration selected from the options. The game controls are very intuitive and the first few levels of the game that I have played through have proven enjoyable enough without being too difficult. The continue is a great help whenever you come to an untimely demise and being pretty much of a pacifist, I find the action fairly comfortably paced. Someone who is pickier about constant action, high intensity and challenge from a first person shooter, probably would find this a bit of a yawner, but as a recreational hunting simulation it definitely satisfies. Of course there is the familiar problem with occasional invisible walls, but from what I've seen in video reviews of other hunting games, it is fairly minimal. The multiplayer is reminiscent of Deer Drive with a lot larger variety of animals. I have had gamers between the age of 10 to 74 play this game and it appeals to all age groups.

Bought this game about two weeks ago, and I think it's alot of fun. It has 2 modes of play one where you go on "missions" seeking out certain animals, sneaking through cover and getting points and medals based on how well you shoot. The second mode of play is a shooting gallery, where the animals just run across the screen and you try to shoot as many of them as you can. Think of the Big Buck Hunter arcade game that they have in some bars. I enjoyed the missions, but I've pretty much already beat the game didn't take too long. The shooting gallery is fun if you have friends over and just want to shoot alot. The shooting gallery is multi-player, but you're not shooting at the same time you take turns and it compares the score.

I really like the big orange shotgun and think it works well. Gives you more of a "Big Buck Hunter" arcade game feel. Controls are fairly intuitive. The trigger is actually up on the barrel, and the scope button is where the trigger should be, which took a second to figure out, but actually works well. I unlocked a bunch of guns while playing in the Mission mode, but I have no idea how to use them or where to find them.

This is the frist hunting game I've bought for my wii, so I can't really compare it to any others. However, I like it and my guy friends like to stop by and shoot stuff with me. Good fun and $40 is reasonable, although its not a long or complicated game.

Remember Tigerwoods 2010, the xbox and ps3 version looked amazing in the graphics dept., but the wii version was just so much more fun to play.

same deal here. the xbox demo looks pretty but no light gun. Wii version looks muddy graphic-wise but shooting with the shotgun that comes with the game is a serious blast.

plus the Wii has 13 shooting galleries, in addition to the career mode, were you try to blow away as many animals as possible in a time limit.

As far as any other issues in the game i would only mention that navigating in the main career mode can be a little tricky,

i kept on running into cliff walls, trees, and looking up at the sky, you gotta swing the shotgun every time you want to look around.

all in all, i'm giving this game 3 stars just because the graphics look so horrible compared to the other next gen versions. gameplay is great.

I picked up the Top Shot bundle on sale for $, wouldn't really pay more than that for it.

Honest reviews on Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 with Gun Bundle

I'm 65 years old, and I love this game. I've stomped the hills for deer and elk a lot in my lifetime, and though I don't get out much anymore, this game is a great substitute. You can play it without being a hunter, but you won't score well. You can kill the animals without much hunting skill, but to get silver and gold medals, you have to be patient and hunt just like you do in the wild, with stalking skills and knowing when to take the shot. I like the fact that if you're unhappy with your score on a hunt, you can replay the hunt as many times you want to improve your score. The Top Shot gun works very well with the Wii remote and nunchuck; the Z button on the nunchuck serves as the trigger and is very realistic. I highly recommend this game if you're a hunter.

My dad and I played this game all day and we're one level short of beating it. Which is a real bummer because it's a blast. There are 12 missions, each mission is comprised of 6-7 hunts. 3-4 of the hunts are for big game, 2 for small game or fowl, and usually you must either hunt or are attacked by dangerous game.

The controls are great, make sure you get the Top Shot gun, it's a very good peripheral. The default settings are moronic as the trigger is up by the barrel but the Top Shot control setting puts the trigger in the back by the grip where it belongs. I recommend switching to Top Shot control immediately and then playing the first career mission as it will walk you through the controls.

You are awarded points for examining sign you're asked to press 'C' to examine sign and it's worth it to poke the button for the points. You also get points for shooting animals from cover; there are always 2-5 cover areas with different point values, you get 10, 20, 30, & 50% multipliers for finding and using these covers you get the most points if you stalk through all of them and then shoot from the 50% marker. It's actually a lot of fun because you have to sneak around the animals avoiding noisy brush and ducking their line of sight.

Once you put your sights on an animal, the vitals light up, also some info about the critter. The second you put the crosshairs on it, the points start going down so it pays to shoot quickly. You get points for a lung shot but you get more for a spine or heart shot. It's fun to make head shots but they feed you this crap about "wrecking the trophy" so you don't get many points.

Bullet cam is fun but if you'd rather watch them crumple up in the scope you can turn the feature off. I like bullet cam myself.

You will pass the hunt if you kill the animal but if you rack up some points you will be awarded a bronze, silver, or gold medal. In order to unlock new hunting areas, you need more experience points which are most easily earned by getting medals or better medals on the hunts.

It's a short game but the hunts are fun to revisit and shoot for gold. Also, the Shooting Gallery cannot be beat, it's extremely fun! The animals just keep on coming, kill as many as you can extremely fun. The dangerous game sections are hard because the Bears/Cougars/Leopards charge you 1 at a time, then in pairs, and 3's until you're dead FUN!

From what I've read, this is the best hunting game you can get and other, earlier versions are disappointing. I eagerly await the next Cabela's/Activision release.

Another great game by Rockstar. It definately continues to push the envelope of what topics, language, and graphics are included within an "M" rating. For an adult gamer, who is not interested in cute pixie Japanese anime or warlocks/wizards/dragons...this is quite refreshing.

Gameplay covers a fair amount of the traditional GTA topics and missions. The passers-by are more varied and realistic in their portrayals. Some major differences my friends and I discovered:

1) A lot easier to pick up wanted level. And intially, until you figure out what/how to do things, harder to drop the wanted level.

2) Repeat mission capability makes it great when you wanted to show someone else that great line, inside joke, or just really fun event without having to do major amounts of 'save games'.

3) The entire map is open immediately...no road construction or police barricades to prevent you from entering an area until a certain story point. I was able to sneak into the headquarters of NOOSE (ultimate cop area) and fly a helicopter within the first 20 minutes of play.

4) Utilizing other platforms (mobile phone app, "GTA V Online) and integrating them into the game is nice. Lots of potential for future content and for other games to emulate.

Great game, has a few bugs that need ironed out. And a little bummed multplayer isn't here until Oct. 1st. This fall is a huge time for gaming. With Batman, Battlefield 4, COD: Ghosts, Assassins Creed IV, and WatchDogs (not to mention the next gen. systems) there is almost something for everyone. Bottom line get this, solid game.

Review of Project Gotham Racing

Project Gotham Racing
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
One of the best racing games available on any console, Project Gotham (PGR) improves upon the wonderful Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast) in EVERY way. PGR is extremely challenging, visually striking, and full of replay value and many modes of play.

First, gameplay. PGR features a mix of realism and arcade-speed in its handling that is beyond compare. I gave my brother a shot at a very tight track in NYC with a Porsche Boxster. He was doing fairly well--as far as he knew--after only a lap or two. He is a casual gamer who only plays sports games, baseball and Madden. So if he can handle it so quickly and so well, then anyone can.

BUT, then there are Kudos points, which you must earn by driving aggressively and with style. This my brother would need much time to learn, how to string together a tail-out slide through cone markers while passing two cars and avoiding walls at the same time...plus coming in 1st! Manage all this and you'll earn Kudos to open up new cars and tracks, even extra play modes, helmets, etc. Real skill is needed in this game, on many dimensions.

Now gameplay modes: you may be tasked with passing a certain number of cars in a certain time limit; beating a fast car one-on-one; earning a set number of Kudos on a track in a given number of time and laps (very hard); beating a specified average time; beating a specified single time, and more! In fact, after 5 hours of playing, the game will open up an entire new game mode called Medal Pursuit (in which the focus shifts away from powerslides to absolutely clean driving to beat a best time)! So much game!

Oh, and then graphics. The game is inarguably more graphically accomplished than even GT3 on PS2. For instance, cars in GT3 generally only have "paintd-on" bodylines such as at doors, hoods, trunks. In PGR there are so many more polygons used that you can actually see the sun reflect WITHIN the modeled bodylines! Superb.

PGR is flatly the best racer on the market for those who truly desire challenge, great gameplay, awesome music (including the ability to import your own from the hard drive), incredible 60fps graphics, and longevity. You will not be getting that Ferrari F50 until you've shown some serious mettle. A must-have racer for a must-have system.

Let me get this out of the way first:

This game is an arcade racer, not a simulation. As such the controls are based on the well-known "power slide" theme that is relatively common. For more realistic control and customization, look elsewhere (like Gran Turismo 3 or Tokyo Xtreme Zero for PS2).

Here is what you want to know:

Graphics: Excellent. At least comparable to Gran Turismo 3. Weather effects are beautiful and lighting is often amazing. Cars look beautiful and reflections are really well done. Some turns are hard to see at night, but then again what did you expect...

Sounds and Music: Many of the game's songs are actually pretty cool, but nothing compares to the ability of ripping your own CDs and listening to them while you play (which you can do here). No MP3 downloads though. Engine sounds are good too.

Control: Mixed bag. Personally, I like it. But if you ONLY like simulation-style control, don't even look this way. Cars will slide like crazy and if another car even touches you while you're "sliding" forget it, you're gonna spin. The difference between AWD, RWD, FWD and 4WD is hardly noticeable (IMO).

My biggest gripe here is the actual XBox controller which is as heavy as a small melon. It is the most uncomfortable controller I've ever held in my hands. You'll see what I mean when after an hour you're switching fingers for the trigger (accelerator).

Gameplay: This is where the game loses the most points with me... Cars must be unlocked, which is fine by me, but what you must do to unlock them is my problem. I mean, the game is already getting hard and I'm only up to 50,000 Kudos and they expect me to get 200,000 Kudos to get the F50!?!? Forget it.

Why do game designers keep making games in which you only get the best cars after you don't need them?

Plus, although I have no problem beating the actual races (Quick Race Mode), some of the cars are only earned by beating some points challenges that I simply don't get (Arcade Race Mode), I mean the concept is simple, but just you try to get gold in them.

One thing I really like is the fact that now Kudos (points) are never taken away (unlike the predecessor Metropolis Street Racing); if you hit a wall or another car, you simply don't get any extra points, but points earned are points kept. Another thing I liked is the fact that this game allows you to progress little by little (unlike GT3 and its 2-hour races) which is nice.

Replay Value: Pretty good until you get stuck. This game gets ridiculously difficult as you progress and chances are most people will not finish it.

Although I love racing games, this one is about more than that... And for you that may or may not be a good thing.

Bottom Line:

At least rent it. If you have it and don't finish it, don't feel bad as I can tell you for sure that most people won't.

Freebie Tips:

Since your competition is always adjusted to match the car you're driving, most of the pure races can be beat with the first car (the Mini).

Try this as your user name: nosliW (caps matter). It will activate all the cars and races.

Ok, for those of you out there that have been fortunate enough to either own, or play several different systems, or are hard-core enough to know what's hot or what's not, you probably know that the biggest baddest racing game on the market is GT3, for PS2 which is the newest installment of the Grand Turismo series. While I wasn't as addicted to GT3 as some get, I've got to admit that it deserves almost all of the hype it's received. When buying Project Gotham, there could be only one comparison, one game to beat: GT3.

While far superior in some aspects (I like to knock out complaints early), my biggest complaint about Gotham, especially compared to GT3, is the lack of cars, especially in the beginning. You only start with three cars, none of which are uber-cool or exciting. There should at least be more cars for multiplayer as it's a drag to pull the game out of the box all hyped to play with friends and have to choose from a mini-cooper and a MR5. With GT3, there was a huge selection of cars right out of the package for arcade or multiplayer games. I was so annoyed by this that I'm almost tempted to knock Gotham down a star, but the good things are so revolutionary that it survives well.

Some people will be annoyed with the lack of a "campaign" style game where you can buy and customize cars. I didn't find this too disheartening, as that's really a GT3 thing, and not something I expect with every racing game I buy. Gotham is much more of an arcade style game than a simulator. It's easy to overlook this one.

Ok, what's good about Project Gotham? Everything Else. If this is an example of things to come, we can expect some incredible racing games for the Xbox in the future. What PGR lacks in cars, it makes up for in some of the most detailed circuits imaginable. The incredible RAM and video RAM capacity of the Xbox means all the tracks consist of 3D models, with 3D statues hurling by at an impressive frame-rate. Buildings boast real signs and posters, and landmarks down to the barest details. GT3's cardboard cut out people and environments sometimes bordered on cheesy. Living in Japan I've been to Asakusa, Shibuya and Shinjuku and they've captured the landmarks and buildings perfectly. All that RAM also allows PGR to do something that always bothered me about GT3: show damage to the cars. That was always irritating. Winner: PGR.

The Dolby Digital sound is incredible. I only recently got the advanced A/V hook-ups, and this game roars on my surround sound system. While it has an impressive song collection already on the disk, PGR is the first Xbox game I've owned that allows you to use your own music copied onto the hard-drive. For another cool twist, you can choose to listen to the radio pre-sets, which include authentic radio stations from the various cities including real DJ's. Super cool. PGR has it all over GT3 in the sound category.

Fun. This game is extremely fun and addictive. The game play is strong for any racer, but the addition of a Kudos system: rewarding players for cool skids, two wheels, overtaking racers etc. adds a new dimension. While I thought it was cheesy at first, the arcade game, which allows you to run through a track solo strictly to collect Kudos, is a lot of fun. Trying to do outrageous turns and combos becomes addictive. I don't think I can honestly say that PGR is more fun than GT3, but I can say it's at least AS fun.

In the end, while I really wanted to be able to declare one the undisputed victor over the other, I really can't. PGR is far more sophisticated which is to be expected. GT3 has a depth and garage that PGR lacks. They're both a LOT of fun. If you can afford it, there's only one true solution: buy them both. If not, I'm a big fan of better, faster, stronger so I'd have to go with Project Gotham. With new features and advancements not seen in other racing games, Project Gotham has set a new standard that will certainly improve all games in the years to come.

Honest reviews on Project Gotham Racing

Great graphics, great gameplay, great music, great cars, great tracks, great objectives. That can ALMOST sum up Project Gotham Racing. To make it a complete review, one cannot forget to mention how difficult this game is.

This could be one of the best racing games of all time if and only if the game developers would have made progressing to new levels and earning new cars a little less frustrating. I'm willing to devote time to my games but the amount of time you must devote to this particular game just to move ahead is a complete joke.

They made this game very difficult for gamers. I've played enough racing games to appreciate PGR but there are some annoyances that I can't ignore. I like a challenge, but I at least want a fair chance of winning. I'm not saying that the AI cheats but a lot of the time you're pitted against cars that just outmatch the cars you have available to you. The game just gets to a point where you MUST race a perfectly clean race to win. It's possible but chances are you'll quit out of frustration before you ever race that perfect race and win.

If you love racing games then PGR is a game to get but I just want you to know that no matter how good you are, this game will end up frustrating you. Not the frustration you feel when you mess up yourselves, but the frustration of feeling that the game just isn't being fair and the game is just asking way too much out of you.

The difficulty of this game prevents me from enjoying all the great stuff that's actually in the game.

BTW, the load times for this game are terrible. I don't mind waiting 5-10 seconds for loading but this game really tests your patience in that area. Just scrolling through available cars, there is load time. It's a petty annoyance but an annoyance just the same.

I'm sick of seeing this game get 1 or 2 star reviews. I've played both this game and Gran Turismo 3. They are BOTH great games, totally different but superb nevertheless. This game has great graphics and the kudos based racing just adds to the fun. As for the people that complain about having to unlock the cars, get over yourselves, it's called a _challenge_, people. How boring would it be to just have all the cars handed to you. There's several different racing formats, and the game rewards are based on your driving ability. I thought that's what racing games were supposed to be about. Bottom line is this: If you own an Xbox, go ahead and buy this game. You won't regret it.

Motion Explosion is a compilation of 12 mini-games that have you balancing things, juggling things, grabbing things, and dodging things. In other words, it's a game whose main purpose seems to be so you can tell people, "Hey, I have a Kinect. Isn't it cool?"

To get started, you can choose a guest avatar or use yours. You can play with up to 4 players; to say it's a "four player game" is a bit misleading because you're not competing against each other at once, you're taking turns.

There are 12 mini games and each game has 10 levels of play. Here are the games:

Balance Beam. In this game, you hold a board over your head while different-shaped blocks fall on it. You have to balance them as they fall on your board and dump them into buckets to collect points. The level of control and responsiveness is very good--you can move the board up or down or tilt it at any angle as you're collecting blocks. Overall, I'd say this game was the most fun out of the group (5 of 5)

Crank it Up In this game you're cranking a shaft with your left hand. As balls fly down, you'll punch at the target with your right hand. Sounds like a promising idea, but it gets extremely frustrating when you punch and punch but can't connect because the game expects you to work within a 3D space on the screen, but it's hard to gauge 3D depth and distance on a 2D screen. This will be a recurring theme throughout these reviews (2 of 5)

Dodge Ball Here, "robo cannons" move around the court and shoot balls at you. You can dodge them or you can punch them with the boxing gloves you have on. I really wanted to like this one (who doesn't love a good game of dodgeball), but the game suffered from the sluggishness that plagues many Kinect games, where you might move quickly but your on-screen character feels like it's stuck in molasses. (3 of 5).

Heavily Armed This is a derivative of the "Balance Beam" game where you have a board strapped to your left arm and need to stack blocks in specific patterns as they fall. It's an interesting use of the Kinect, and may be fun in a group setting, but quickly gets tiring when you're playing alone (3 of 5).

Juggle Struggle Like Dodge Ball, this concept is a real winner but simply suffers in the execution (ironically, the same concept is executed much better in Wii Fit). You use your hands to toss objects in the air and try to keep them in the air, stepping on stars on the ground and avoiding bombs from time to time that are thrown at you. This game suffers mightily from the aforementioned problem of trying to gauge 3D depth on a 2D screen. At times you'll be hitting the ball with precise timing but still completely miss it. This one could have been the star of the title, instead I found it quite mediocre (3 of 5).

Off the Grid Here, you stand on the intersection of two conveyor belts, where blocks are moving toward you from two angles. You need to contort your body to avoid blocks. This one required at least 8 feet of space which I didn't have, so it was unplayable for me. (2 of 5)

Robo Control This is an interesting game where you control a remote controlled robot to try to collect points. You pump with your left hand and steer left and right with the other. In all honesty, it felt kind of pointless. The "pumping and steering" actions didn't simulate anything at all like real life. Plus, this was a game that would have been infinitely more fun if two players could play simultaneously going after the same targets, but each player has to wait their turn. (2 of 5)

Sack Hack This was a pretty fun game that was along the lines of juggling--you basically play a virtual game of "hacky sack" with multiple different-colored balls. The system will highlight which limb to use to hit the ball. I found this fun, but again a victim of the same problem as juggling, where you'd hit the balls with perfect timing, but the system would let the ball drop because you weren't in the precisely correct position on the 3D plain (3 of 5)

Shape Dodge In this game, a number of shapes are coming at you on a conveyor belt, and you have to move out of the way. If this sounds like Off the Grid, that's because it is, the shapes are just coming at you from a different angle. 2 of 5)

Star Hop This game is all about footwork. You collect stars coming at you on yet another conveyor belt by touching them with your feet, and avoid bombs by stepping or hopping over them. I found this pretty fun, but if you're someone whose Kinect is too close that it can't detect your feet, you will not enjoy this one, as it'll be impossible to jump out of the way (4 of 5)

Star Stream This is a game where you reach up and grab stars as they come toward you. Again, this should have been a lot more fun than it turned out to be. As with other games, reaction was sluggish at best (2 of 5)

Tilt Board This game is reminiscent of those old wooden maze games. You tilt a board to make a ball roll on it, and gather as many stars as you can while avoiding red holes and exiting the maze at a green hole. The controls are hardly intuitive--you move your left hand up and down to tilt the maze backward and forward, and move your right hand from side to side to tilt the board left and right. Probably would have been more fun if it just let you hold your hands in front of you and tilt your whole body. But as it was, it was disappointing (2 of 5)

You can either play a "Motion Mix" of three random games or play any of the game using "Free Play" mode. One cool feature of the game is that it'll give you in-depth statistics of how well you play each game and the progress you make.

You probably saw some recurring themes in my descriptions of the games. If you don't have at least 8-10 feet of space in front of your Kinect, it won't work for you. Many game suffer from sluggishness. The complexity of trying to figure out precise 3D space on a 2D screen can be frustrating. And even though there were 12 games, many of them felt monotonously similar to each other (there are more conveyor belts here than at an assembly plant).

There were a few other really annoying things about the game. The announcer throughout the game is a perky woman who's had about five cups of coffee too much, and there's no way to turn her off. Worse, when you fail to perform certain things, she'll get really snide and sarcastic. Now I don't mind this in games when the foul-up is my fault. But when it's the system fouling up and I get lambasted for it, that gets really, really annoying, enough where I want to punch the TV. Another little annoyance--after every game your avatar would celebrate wildly with a dance, even if he or she just scored no points. I wanted to slap my avatar and tell him to cut it out.

I should mention that this is a party game, and if you play all the games above in a party setting, I'm guessing it'll be a lot more fun simply because you're competing against each other and all are on a level playing field. But again, the inability for players to compete simultaneously is unfortunate.

I suppose if you practice enough times, eventually you'll learn how to adjust for idiosyncrasies like the depth perception and the sluggishness issues. But personally, I don't have the patience for that, not when there are plenty of other Kinect games (such as Kinect Sports and Dance Central) that you can just pop in and play out of the box.

Overall, I'd say that this would have been a great title a year ago, when the Kinect was first launched. In many ways, it feels like a demonstration title showing the capabilities of the Kinect. But I didn't really find it compelling as a stand-alone title. In fact, the impression I got from Motion Explosion is that it was very similar to those "shovelware" games we saw on the Wii, where a publisher would pack in a bunch of similar mediocre games on one title in hopes that people would snatch them up thinking they were getting a good deal. I'd say maybe it's worth $19.99 when it gets to the bargain bin. But for $39.99 there are plenty of other options.

It's an ok game but could be better. The games are actually kinda hard. You can only play one person at a time.

This game by far has the best graphics I've seen so far but the games are very boring. The games don't last more than 1 minute for each player. Some of them only last 30 seconds. What fun can you get playing in 30 seconds.... please !!!

Let's make this clear from the outset: this is not a brand-new game, but rather the "director's cut" of the title that released a few months back. Those expecting a whole new "Madden" will be disappointed, but look a little deeper and there's much to discover.

First, the game looks better and runs smoother; there's more detail everywhere, from raucous crowds to sideline personnel, but it doesn't scream "next-gen" like some other titles. There's still work to be done going forward, but it's not as if "Madden 25" looks ugly -far from it.

While the graphics might not dazzle, the immediately-noticeable improvement to the game's animations take gameplay up a notch. The war in the trenches that decide football games -intricate battles between defensive and offensive linemen -are far more dynamic and realistic. No longer do the lines simply ram into each other like buzzing electric football players of yore; they move with purpose, and they're a bit smarter to boot. Combine that with a more realistic running game, and one finds a new level of depth and challenge -along with the satisfaction that come with success.

The end result is a more thoughtful and rewarding on-field experience, where play-calling and execution involves much more than snapping the ball and mashing the "sprint" button.

Unlike the last time "Madden" moved forward from one generation to the next, nothing's been left behind; all the modes you'd expect are there, from the multi-season Connected Careers mode to the card-collecting Ultimate Team -if you're migrating from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, all your cards will come with you; a godsend for those that have dumped plenty of hard-earned cash into the fantasy-team extravaganza already.

It's a very solid package, filled chock-full of content, and it's easily the definitive version of "Madden 25"; a game that creeps ever closer to becoming a true-to-life simulation of the NFL.

First thing I need to say it is a definite upgrade over the last gen version. Graphics, gameplay, and details have all been greatly improved. The player models are much more high res and skin actually looks real instead of plastic. Faces look much more real and player helmets look amazing.

The gameplay, although mostly the same does improve in more than a few areas. Momentum now plays a much larger part in how you run and cut on the field. No longer can you hold down the sprint button and expect to do a 90 degree cut on the field. The interactions between the offense and defensive lines have improved with better awareness and pocket formations.

Details in the stadium have been revamped mostly in the form of NPCS. The crowd is now fully 3D as well as everyone on the sidelines. Not only That they actually move and move with the action on the field. The UI has also had a minor facelift in the looks department.

Overall I think the the Ignite Engine and Madden 25 are both solid foundations for games to come. This is a largely better game than Madden 06 in its time. This game is fun to play, contains all the same game modes that previous gen had and if you play MUT you can transfer over content. I would say there is enough here for Madden fans to warrant a next gen purchase.

The graphics and gameplay are almost IDENTICAL as the 360 version. The only times you notice that you are playing next-gen are in the cut scenes or when when players are in the huddle and you can see the reflections on their helmets. You also see a slight improvement in the detail of the grass on the field. This was almost an exact port from the 360 version, so if you own it, wait until next year when EA will build a true next-gen experience. Everything that was advertised is completely overrated, the living sidelines aren't noticeable (other than there being slightly more people), the stadiums look about the same and any physics tweaks aren't noticeable unless you truly dig for them. If you are looking for a game that you can use to show your friends how awesome the Xbox One is, this isn't it.

Honest reviews on Madden NFL 25 - Xbox One

Madden NFL 25 on Xbox One is an excellent start to this generation of football games. The graphics, presentation, and gameplay are all noticeably improved and the package is undeniably a step-up from current generation (X360, PS3) football.

Madden 25 on X360 and PS3 plays a pretty good (but not perfect) game of football. Madden 25 on X1 simply improves on the current-gen game in all aspects, which I'll quickly list here:

-Graphics. Madden on Xbox One is a gorgeous game. If you've been following the pre-release hype, you've probably heard (and maybe laughed) about EA mentioning the "blades of grass," but damn it if the grass isn't beautiful in this game, especially around center field logos. Realistic lighting, higher resolution players, coaches, equipment, and gorgeous stadiums highlight a really fantastic looking game. You definitely have to play it on a big 1080p TV to appreciate how good the game looks, since the ESPN MNF clips certainly didn't do Madden next-gen any visual justice.

-Gameplay. The big innovations here are "war in the trenches," "contextual awareness," and other miscellaneous improvements, most notably side line catches, which it seems like EA finally got right. War in the Trenches is a fantastic upgrade that people have been asking for for years and EA has done an excellent job with this feature, as the first time you see a DE bust straight through a double team is a sight to behold. Contextual Awareness is also a great feature, as it helps your RB's not run straight into their linemen and WR's and DB's make smarter plays on balls in the air. It doesn't always work, and there's some debate about how much user control should be taken away for the sake of "realism," (running, for example, is much harder on next-gen than current-gen, although this is undeniably a good thing) but I'm really digging the way next-gen Madden plays. Dropped the game speed to slow and been having a blast for two straight days.

-Presentation. There are a lot of cool new camera angles, the commentary is *slightly* better, highlights are back on Xbox One, and the crowd looks great. There are some issues here, however, as the commentary is still often inaccurate, which shatters immersion, and the Living Worlds feature hasn't lived up to the hype. I feel like the lack of women in the stadium (you get 40-60,000 men and men only) might be a bug because it seems like such a bizarre oversight. The sidelines are much improved, but still lacking, and I'd like the crowd--whether all men, all women, or both--to be more invested in the game, as it seems like their heads do not track the action and their reactions to big plays are often delayed or non-existent. Although the "Living Worlds" feature is underwhelming, I'm still happy to give Madden 25 a 5/5 on Xbox One based on the amount of fun I've had w/ the game the past 24 hours.

Overall though, this is a great looking, great playing game of football, and I haven't even begun to fool with sliders, dive into a Connected Franchise, or even figure out Coach Glass, which is Madden's unique and dynamic companion app for tablet devices using Xbox SmartGlass. There's a lot to play and do here in Madden 25 on Xbox One, which is remarkable when you think about what a stripped down, empty game Madden 06 was, which was the first Madden game on Xbox 360 and PS3. The potential for this generation is limitless at this point, and if you love football or are just looking to get the most out of your new Xbox One, then you'd be silly to pass on Madden this year.

I played a decent amount of Madden 25 on Xbox 360 and enjoyed the overall experience. Madden 25 on Xbox One is a great start on next-gen consoles and is an improvement on the 360 version.

The line play is the biggest difference in my opinion. Running through holes created by your offensive lineman is an enjoyable experience as you can see them actually work hard. Previously, offensive/defensive lineman lacked tenacity and technique. Go into the instant replay mode on next-gen Madden and just watch the interaction...it is the real deal.

I still feel interceptions need to happen more often. There are way too many dropped interceptions by the secondary in the game. However, I have not messed around with the sliders to tweak that part of the gameplay.

Another great addition is seamless online play. I think this might have to do with a combination of better servers and 60 FPS. I have already played 10+ online games without any lag. I didn't have too many issues with the 360 version. However, there was always slight lag that would make it very difficult to kick full strength or make a tackle in the open field. This is now fixed and creates a great experience online.

I purchased Madden 06 on Xbox 360 eight years ago and it was a disaster. I am really excited to see where this series goes because it is off to such a great start.

The platinum edition of Forza 2 offers the standard game along with a new disc that contains all the updates that were available online (including 43 new cars and two new race tracks). For those who already own the game, 20 dollars for the updates may or may not be worth it. However, I found it to be a good deal because I don't play online but wanted to take advantage of the new cars. Someone who is buying the game for the first time is getting a great deal!

I recently purchased Forza 2 platinum to replace my old Forza 2 disc that finally called it quits a after a year and a half of very good gaming. Forza 2 is the best racing game ver made, and no game will ever surpass is except Forza 3. Platinum hits is worth much more then what you pay, to get a regular Forza 2 disc new is about $12 and if you thwn downloaded all the DLC using microsoft points you would have spent another $30. So for only $20 your getting the game, all the DLC and the preorder car. Even the manual alone I'd say is worth the twenty bucks, its like a miniature stategy guide and explains much clearer and much more then the standard manual. I have to give Forza 2 platinum 5/5, most game review sites say 4/5 for the regular, so adding great value to an already amazing product has to warrant top marks.

This is the best race sim I've ever played. It is really addictive and fun for a long time due to the career mode and online gaming. The graphics could be a little better and include "in car" view. Very good game, mainly if you consider a $19.99 deal.

Honest reviews on Forza 2 (Platinum Hits)

I was a late comer to the XBOX360, buying in Feb 09, and it's also the first console I've owned. I've played many driving games on my PC's over the years, but this is the best by far. Be aware, it's not really an arcade game, but more of a driving simulator. You can't keep the accelerator mashed the whole time and hope for the best, or bounce off walls to make the turns. You have to drive like you would in your own car well twice as fast, but you get the point breaking and sensible accelating definitely count. The graphics are great in 720P. Some have found slight fault with the crispness of the graphics compared to other games unless you're pausing and comparing it side by side with another, newer game, I doubt you'll notice, especially at 200 mph. I've got my XBOX360 on a 52" rear-projection HDTV not the latest model, but it looks great for games. There are lots of cars, and with the platinum edition, lots of extra tracks. If you don't have this one already and you like driving games, you really can't get a better deal than this.

Just to let you know, Forza 2 requires a hard drive if you want to watch replays. So if you have an Arcade edition Xbox 360, you're gonna have to add a hard drive to your Xbox. So far this has been my only real complaint with this game. For me, the car dynamics are improved over the original game, being closer to Gran Turismo, which is a good thing.

It is a game that will suck you into another world. To fully complete the game it will take anywhere between 72 to 120 hours of gameplay, and even more if the player wishes to unlock everything there is to unlock. The gameplay itself is acceptable if you can get over how the battles work with a grid type design. All in all there are definitely worse games out there to play.

The game can be compared to RPG's similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. I'm a fan of the gameplay(Grid Maps)and I don't mind grinding so I like this game, If you like these things I think this is the game for you. I do like FF:Tactics more but this game is pretty good.

Music=Good

Replayability=Very good

In terms of RPGs, this one has a few interesting concepts, as well as the whole two-generation storyline thing. It will be a very entertaining story to anyone who wishes to wade through it, and an interesting challenge to attract the affection of your various teammates.

The thing about the game that may turn some people off is the grinding nature of the battle system. There is no real coup de main option in battle; you will have to slog it for more than a few of your fights, and you will need to level grind every so often to maintain parity with even tougher foes as you advance. The one saving grace is that your character power advances as a brisk clip when you do start going up in rank.

If you are prepared to go the mile and then some, this will be an interesting game for you. If you're in it for the story and have little time or patience to mash your foes constantly, this may not be a stellar choice.

Honest reviews on Record of Agarest War Zero Standard Edition - Xbox 360

While I enjoyed this game I ended up doing roughly the same combos over and over for large stretches of the game. Overall a fun experience but not a real high replay value even after getting the next generation of children.

This is a turn based game, not a first person fighter or arcade game, so the graphics aren't amazing. They are just fine for playing the game. The game itself is a lot of fun, especially the multi-generation concept.

One annoying thing about the game is the wait time between screens.
