Not only did the description NOT tell me it would be a non-English translated card, but the picture description is entirely in English. I don't know how to read the language the card is in, nor have I ever used one of these cards to purchase a game.

UPDATE: I contacted the seller, who provided me the directions I needed, I hope. I have not yet tried since this was supposed to be part of a Christmas gift, but now will be something I just give on the side after my son opens his Xbox. I feel better that the seller contacted me right back with useful information and feel assured that the code will be in English and able for me to read.

My wife and I ordered this card as a stocking stuffer for the kids this past Christmas 2012. We were concerned when we received the card and the instructions were written in Russian or some such. Still, when the kids unwrapped their new Xbox and Kinect we scratched off the back of the card, typed in the codes for Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja, and viola, the codes worked and the games were in English.

As for the games, they're both fun and family friendly.

Halo Special Edition Xbox Game System Review

Halo Special Edition Xbox Game System

Yep, that's right, it's an awesome limited edition bundle.

This bundle came packaged with 1 see-through green XBox, 1 Controller, which has HALO as the label vs other controllers, which have the letter "X," as well as the necessary hookups. This bundle also included a copy of Halo. The box was of course different as well, since this was a limited edition run. It had Halo related material (Master Chief, etc.) splashed around here and there. This is a nice machine for what it is. I've personally been using mine for years and both the XBox and controller still work like new (I've kinda kept the controller in somewhat "unused" condition, since I didn't want to mess it up). If you're a collector, like Halo, or enjoy video games in general, this is a nice bundle, especially since it's quite different from most XBox systems.

Xbox was ahead of it's time back in 2001 when it was released, & was a nice graphical improvement over the PS2. My original Xbox was damaged by lightning so when I found this at the great price, & green, I had to snatch it up. The product arrived, in great condition, & now I can continue playing many of my Xbox games which are not back compatible with the Xbox 360. I am a console collector & the Xbox is among my favorite consoles, ever. Love it..

Honest reviews on Halo Special Edition Xbox Game System

When i was a little younger i got this for christmas back in 2001 and loved it. I had over 100hrs of halo 2 on it. I loved modding the console also. I had sold it once the 360 came out which was a huge mistake! So i decided to buy a "collectors condition" model and its great! The console has everything it came with sealed! I plan to keep this for a long time and see the value go up. GReat for any Halo fan!

When I got this particular system, it was all dirty and dusty inside out. I needed to dissemble this system to clean it. after I cleaned it, it function good for a little while. Then it started to scratch up my video game discs, so I got rid of it.

I bought the XL edition, having owned both GT3 and GT4 and having never played GT5. The game is as fun and challenging as I expected and there is a huge variety of tracks and cars and events. The game itself is good and the only complaint that I have would be the load times, which are frequent and long enough to really distract from the game itself.

As far as the XL edition specifically is concerned, it probably wasn't the best choice for me. It was nice that all of the game updates were included etc etc and most of the XL content is great but the fact that so many good cars were included right at the beginning of the game actually kind of ruined the game for me. I instantly took the Red Bull prototype car (by far the fastest in the game and worth about 20 million credits) and began destroying races in it. I quickly collected millions of dollars, which allowed me to purchase awesome cars for the races which the redbull car couldn't enter.

I say this kind of ruined the game because Gran Turismo, at it's core, has always derived it's pleasure from pain. The pain of being dominated in races because you have neither enough credits nor enough talent to win this race or that. This experience in frustration always challenged me to rise above and save money to upgrade my car and do license tests to improve my skills etc. until I finally, after pouring so much into the game, had the satisfaction of winning that event. Having really fast cars for free has taken most of that experience away. Races are easy when your car can lap the fastest opponent (despite crashing several times). This reduces the need for driving skill and really lowers the overall satisfaction of the game. So, what I've had to do is start trying to find the worst car that I can for each race or series and try to win with that. It brings some of the satisfaction back, but the experience still lacks the underdog feeling that I always got from starting out on the rock bottom and clawing my way to the top.

Overall, the game is great despite inordinately long load times, but if you are like me and always liked GT because of the work involved in mastering it, the XL edition might not be the best choice.

This game was built for a steering wheel! The sense of driving is incredible. A whole lot of subtle details are included. The patches that are in this go a long way to make the game feel more complete than it used to. The graphics have far less glitches. The sense of speed is spot on. They've improved the driving on the different sets of tires. Each one presents its challenges. And the biggest thing that made the game are the seasonal events (you have to have an internet connection).

When the game was released, basically you either won by a mile or you lost very badly. There was little in between. The seasonal events have really improved on this. Rewarding you for using underpowered cars. which is important because there's a whole lot of cars that you wouldn't want to use in gran turismo because they are so low powered.

When they released it, it was obvious they were going for "we'll do all the cars on the planet!!" and included vans and all kind of stuff. Then very quickly budget and timne constraints caught up with them. So you have a strange selection. Luckily the high powered cars you select are all fantastic. This is because every car handles differently on the steering wheel. Some of my favorites are the ferari 458, the maserati gran turismo, mini cooper, the mercedes 300sl, and number 1 is the tvr speed 6. My word.

Every car handles differently and handles beautifully. The game has that magic especially if you play on low spec'd sport tires. Struggling to maintain control of your car you have to carefully maintain throttle and braking taking into account slopes and elevations on a track, slippery sections. Incredible. You steer into a tough curve and let go of the throttle, big mistake, the physics kick in and your car understeers. Your car over steers twisting the steering wheel out of your hands, big mistake, grab onto that sucker and counter steer yanking the car into the right position! You went over a slight hill and the rear wheel lost traction, you felt it in the steering wheel (how?!?)

The premium cars are gorgeous and handle fantastic. The standard cars finally have a (sort of) interior which made me race in them. They also handled quite well. The premium cars are where it's at. Simply gorgeous. Racing in the interior cockpit is really something. I wish I had a 3dtv , because I can already tell how amazing it's going to be.

This game is sheer magic. But, and here's the big deal, be prepared to spend a lot (and I mean a lot!) of time before it becomes fun. It really becomes fun when you have most of the cars and are good enough when you race the cars for fun to try them out, not when you are trying to win the races for money. So I would say at least 1 to two weeks before the game gets fun. Damage doesn't turn on until you get to aroudn level 30 which is sad because it's great and reflects in the steering wheel. It's a hard game and the seasonal events are way it's at. Enjoy it. Get yourself a steering wheel. You will feel everything from bumps to traction loss to the steering wheel reacting realistically. I drove this game and I got better at driving my real car. The traction was that good!

Most games I buy, I barely play past a cursory playthrough. I haven't put this one down. All the other ones, NFS shift, Split second, etc are distant seconds to this gem. The realism makes you almost grimace when you play arcade racers. Only Dirt could hold a candle to the physics, and even then just barely :). If you are willing to invest the time and money this game is exactly what you need.

This is an awesome game, even without the xl edition. When you get the XL edition and you get all the updates, go to the store and enter your redeem code. When you do, it ill only show 3 things. I saw this and thought"this isn't what I bought!" Do not fear! install those three things and load up the game. From the main menu you should be able to go to the far right and hit Downloadable Content. Click on that and all of your promised stuff will be there, including the Red Bull X2011 prototype.

I have played every Gran Turismo game, and GT 5 XL Edition should've been better than it is. My favorite was GT 3. The menus in GT 5 are just flat out ridiculous to navigate, and it's like one big jumbled mess. The graphics are nice and I can't complain there. The download times took me about 2 hours to complete. Yes, it's a long time, but it wasn't a big deal to me. It also seems like there were more races/courses in the previous GT games than this one. It just feels like there is alot missing with GT 5 and nothing ever makes you say "wow". Everything you do seems to take longer than it should or that it was easier in the past GT games. Plus, I have 20/15 vision and a 50" plasma TV, and the font is really small and hard to read.

There are A spec races and B spec races. The A spec races YOU are actually the one racing the car, while the B spec races, you are actually the CREW CHIEF and are instructing your driver how to race. YOU DON'T RACE B SPEC RACES!!! In the B spec races (which is half the game) you are literally telling your driver to increase their pace, decrease their pace, maintain their pace, pit, pass the car in front, or nothing at all. That's it!!! For half the game you are literally watching your driver race.

With the cars included in the DLC, you can choose the Red Bull Prototype (which is the best car in the game at 1600+HP), start a B spec race, and then.....go do laundry, vacuum, do the dishes, dust, clean your car, eat something, take the dog out, run to the store, do whatever you want to do, and then come back 20/30/40 minutes later to watch your driver finish the race and come in first. Then repeat for the next race. That is honestly how I completed the B spec races. I actually didn't mind the B spec races, because after completing these races, you do win money and cars that you can use for the A spec races (which are the races that you actually drive the cars and not your driver). Plus, I got work done around the house which pleased my wife. So I was killing two birds with one stone! LOL!

Something else I didn't care for, was that in previous GT games, you could sell the cars you win. In GT 5, I would guess maybe 75%-80% of the cars I won I could not sell? It says it will remove it from my garage, but I cannot sell it. I don't know if removing from my garage permanently removes it from my game, but I'd rather keep it than find out I lost it. Plus, because of all of the DLC cars in my garage, I have completed probably 60%-70% of this game, and only purchased about 10 cars. I have about 90-100 cars in my garage, and I do have about 7 million dollars burning a hole in my GT wallet, but there really hasn't been a need to buy better cars. You either get the best cars with the DLC, or wind up winning them.

Overall, for $20, I have certainly been entertained for hours upon hours, and it is worth it. I think this game could have and should have been soo much better based on the previous GT games. But, if you have enjoyed the past GT games, I would have to recommend this one especially at this price. It's not a bad game, and there are hours of gameplay, but it could've been better. I'm not disappointed with GT 5 XL, and I will buy GT 6. But for $20, why not!?!?!

Cheap PlayStation 3 (20GB)

PlayStation 3

Once considered the red-headed stepchild of Sony's large, confusing fleet of Playststion 3 models, the news that new models of the PS3 will contain no PS2 compatibility gives this model some extra appeal.

Just like the 60GB model, this system has full hardware backwards compatibility and will play the vast majority of PS2 games very well. Replaying Metal Gear Solid 3 on the system, there was noticeable improvement in some of the game's loading from my old PS2, and the game looked great upscaled over HDMI.

There are three drawbacks I can think of with this modelwhich are easily addressed for the most part.

1. The 20GB Hard drive fills up very quickly on the PS3, even if you're just using the system for gaming and not as a media hub. The game I purchased with the system, Metal Gear Solid 4 took up 4.5 GB on it's own. Thankfully, it's cheap and simple to drop a much larger SATA laptop drive into the system.

2. This is the only Playstation 3 model that does NOT include built-in Wi-Fi and Sony doesn't have an officially supported adapter. That's a pretty big drawback since so many of the PS3's cool features are online. A gaming ethernet bridge does a pretty good job of taking care of this.

3. No media card slotsI can't plug a compact flash card into my PS3 like the 60GB models can... oh, wait. Why would I want to plug media cards into my system anyways? If I did, it would be as simple as buying a $6 hub.

So, if you want a system that plays all your Playstation games and have a wired internet connection, I highly suggest giving this PS3 model a look. It doesn't fetch the premium price that the 60GB units currently are and its drawbacks are easily addressed.

I'm gonna make this simple , the 20gb , 60gb , and early 80gb versions are the only ps3 models that support ps2 playback, only drawback on the 20gb is there is no built in WiFi .But ethernet allows faster downloads and wifi supposedly makes anything run hotter . I had a 40gb ps3 and its the same except obviously ps2 backwards compatibility and wifi. also there are 4 usb slots instead of 2. If you want ps2 support for your future ps3 get a original model ! But if you can care less get a 40gb , newer 80gb or 160gb .Its all about personal preference ! but get a ps3 .

We got our hands on an XBox 360, a PS3, and a Wii on launch day. Each is good at specific tasks. Here is a fully unbiased review of how the PS3 performs as a next generation console unit.

To start with, the PS3, like the XBox 360, supports full high definition. The Wii only supports a lower resolution. Since the Wii has a much lower price tag, that is a fair trade-off for people with a tighter budget. Gamers for whom a very high level of graphic detail is important will have to pony up for that ability.

Along the same lines, the XBox 360 supports the HD format of high definition DVDs for movies, while the PS3 supports the Blu-ray format. If you haven't been following the whole format war for high definition DVDs, I have several articles on the topic on my gaming site. In short it's like the VHS/Beta wars when the VCR first came out. Is one better than the other? Will one format win out as the sole survivor? There's no way to tell. People will argue vehemently that one is better than the other. From a gaming point of view, the PS3 has the Blu-ray BUILT IN meaning every game can have 50 GIGS worth of game information. Think MASSIVELY huge maps, types of characters, etc. The XBox 360 only uses "regular" DVDs as its base game holder, which is 7 GIG. That is much smaller. You can buy an add-on HD DVD unit for about $100 but the storage is still smaller than Blu-ray about 30 gig.

People will argue about graphics until they're blue :) A lot of this comes down to how a specific game company *uses* the ability of the system. Looking at graphics on a tetris-like game will be much different than viewing the graphics of Oblivion or Gears of War. I found 360 graphics amazing on Oblivion. I equally found the PS3 graphics quite impressive on Genji's cut scenes (no enemy crabs in sight). Since both are high definition, I think that both have the same potential in real life terms. Both really shine in terms of fluid motion, precise detail and realism. I've seen it on both systems, on certain games. I've also seen junky graphics on both systems. Both are much better than the Wii.

How about sound? All of these can plug into your stereo system. My boyfriend and I are both musicians. We have decibel meters and other sound-sensing tools. All three systems can create amazingly complex sounds, music, and in general a "gaming environment". Again I think it comes down to specific game makers, how they choose to use or not use that ability. It also comes down to how much you the gamer spent on your stereo system :)

Speaking of sound, I do have to comment that our 360 is quite loud when it runs, despite our many attempts to help it be quieter. The PS3 right out of the box is MUCH quieter. Score 1 point for the PS3.

On the general operating system for the units, all three consoles are going for more of a "general use entertainment system" presentation. The XBox has customizeable tabs that let you download new games, manage your environment and so on. The Wii also has channels that let you organize your gaming world. The PS3 has an interface almost exactly like that of the PSP, complete with cool drifting smoke waves in the background. You choose which area you want to work on game, music, internet connection etc., and drop down to alter whatever feature you're interested in.

So on to the on-line aspect, which most gamers are now fully interested in. Where the XBox 360 makes you buy an external connector for wireless, the PS3 has that built-in on the 60 gig model. The 20 gig model still requires an external connector (these run about $100). All will let you plug in a cable if you're still running a wired household.

As a side comment on that, the XBox 360 has a 20 gig hard drive. However, they take up about 12 gig of that with their base system. So really you get 8 gig "free" for other things. Now, 8 gig might sound like a lot. But I still remember when the PS2 first came out and everyone was raving about the 8mb memory cards, how you could never possibly fill one of those up. We now have 8 memory cards and all are pretty much full. I have no doubt that 8 gig or even 20 gig is going to fill quickly. With the PS3 you at least do have that option for the 60 gig and it is really worth it. With the 360 your only option is to get an add-on drive to in essence back up the content you're not currently using and free up the main drive.

How does the online world work on the PS3? The XBox definitely has the advantage here. Until this generation, *only* the XBox had a thriving community in their live world. The XBox 360 connected right into that XBox Live world, and they boast a *huge* community of gamers who actively gain points, play online and form virtual worlds. The PS3 and Wii both have to play catch-up at this point. Even if they have better interfaces, it's a matter of converting over all those players who have clans, familiarity and high point collections on the XBox world. Imagine if a new MMORPG came out right now that had fantastic graphics. Sure it might be wonderful but will you really get all 800 trillion WOW players to drop their world and characters and friends to convert, especially if it costs more? It'll be a hard, slow sell.

My summary? I definitely think all three have great games and that all three are worth owning. Of course I'm in a position that I *can* afford all three, which many people are not in. For example, I *love* the Zelda series, and I *love* the Final Fantasy series. I would be hard put to tell a person "you need to get Zelda instead of Final Fantasy". I would want the person to have both, because both are great for different reasons. If you really truly can only save up for one of the three consoles this holiday season, it isn't going to come down to which console is "best" for all players in some sort of a global way. It is going to come down to which console is best for YOU based on your specific gaming style.

If you're on a really tight budget and just want something better than the previous generation, go for a Wii. It's cheap, the graphics are better, and the remotes are great fun. It has Zelda :) If you have a larger budget and really want the high definition, you're now choosing between the 360 and the PS3. You really do have to look at the specifics of each, and think seriously about your gaming style, to see which matches you best. If I were to make a flip summarization, if you really love online gameplay, I'd go with the XBox 360. Its years of head-start really give it a robust environment here. If you are looking for more of a home-based media center for your MPs3, photos and huge world gameplay, I'd go with the PS3. It definitely has the advantage on large scale games.

Feel free to email me if you have more specific questions, or for screenshots, graphic descriptions, or interface information on any of the three systems.

Honest reviews on PlayStation 3 (20GB)

I was getting a little worried with a lot of negative reviews I was reading about the PS3. So much so that at one point I actually considered a Wii. Thankfully I stuck with what I really wanted and though it's only been two weeks I'm loving this thing. Sure I wish there were more games out at launch but I know they're coming. Besides at $50-$60 a pop for games it's not like I have the cash to just buy a stack of games at one time anyway. I have Resistance, Madden '07, and Need for Speed: Carbon. I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far. I like the wireless controllers though like a little kid I sit close enough to the TV to use a wired one. The graphics and sound are awesome. I'm curious to see what game developers will come up with when they don't have a strict launch deadline to meet and can really use this machine to its potential. There are a lot more Blu-ray titles available than I thought so I'll pick up a few and test the player more. The unit does produce a lot of heat so that comment I'm sure you've read elsewhere is true. I haven't tried the online network so I can't comment on that. One thing I will note is that the operating software had to be updated before it would play a game so if you don't have a high speed internet connection forget about using it right out of the box. Overall I'm happy I took the plunge. One more point. I don't think you have to have a HDTV to use a PS3 but to really appreciate it you should use something other than a standard tube. I have a 42" Panasonic EDTV so it's not full high def but it can receive up to a 1080i signal and man it makes a difference. Wow.

We are a family that plays games and enjoys them. The kids have theirs, my wife has hers and I have mine. We have a 360 and a ps2 and just returned (that's right... returned) our PS3 with a 20gb hard drive. I was very excited to get it and hooked it up with hdmi and network cables as soon as I got home and watched Ricky Bobby that night on blu-ray. The system froze twice while watching the movie and it would only display in 1080i or 480p (my tv looks best in 720p and the ps3 would not display this). We went to the online store and downloaded motorstorm and resistance as well as lemmings to try out. They all took an incredibly long time and the store was very slow to load even though we are connected via DSL.

Resistance was good but did not look as good as Gears of War on the 360. MotorStorm was fun but is not out yet and Lemmings was just interesting. A not-so-impressive opening lineup. I realized that I was waiting mainly for Lair to come out.

The system is cool... I really wanted to like it but the cons out-weigh the pros at this point. We downloaded update version 1.31 but that made no difference.

The Pros: Blu-Ray player, wireless controllers, nice touch sensitive disk eject, memory card reader for backwards compatibility.

The Cons: Poor launch line-up, glitches during blu-ray playback, awkward positioning of the R2 and L2 buttons underneath the controller (different than on the ps2), no replaceable battery in the controllers, short usb cable if controller battery dies, way too expensive to start out a new system, limited customization settings in the control panel, ps2 games looked awful displayed on the ps3

Overall: I really wanted to like this system and kept finding reasons to keep it but I finally boiled it down to what I really liked and not what I hoped to like. I ultimately prefer HD DVD to Blu Ray (I have the hd dvd player for my 360) and I think Xbox Live has Sony's online system beat. There are very few exclusive games for any one system now and I think the 360 coming out first made a difference. We enjoy the feel of the 360 better than the PS3.

I'm not saying we won't buy another one in a few months but I just couldn't see spending $600 (system and extra controller plus tax) right now when there are so many great games out there for the 360 that I could play now.

At one point I thought I'd just keep this for the kids and my eventual benefit as Sony continues updating and making it better through firmware upgrades... then I came down one morning to find the kids had hooked up their ps2 and used that instead of the ps3 (even though I had loaded everything from their memory cards on the ps3)... they just preferred the $100 ps2 to the $500 ps3... that was the final straw.

We packed it up and returned it to let some other person with money to burn to buy it.

I'll wait a few months before buying a PS3 again. Thanks for reading.

The biggest flaw with the port of Bully would be the controls, but these are easily alleviated by using a gamepad, ideally the Xbox 360 controller itself. Other than that the game runs pretty well on the PC, and is just as fun as it was on the console. The gameplay is varied enough, and the story has the classic Rockstar tongue in cheek satire, and the sandbox world is fun to explore.

Good games taken with another offer for my steam library. I love it a lot, it's a good game. Bye.

This game is exactly what you'd expect. It's a GTA-esque game with a school as a setting. The theming is nothing short of amazing. Every school clique is very different from one another, and the music itself is great. My only issue with this game is that it was originally a PS2 title, then ported to the PC and Wii, and you can clearly tell it doesn't run how it should, even with a good PC. The menus, for example, are all navigated with the keyboard, and if you want to use a gamepad, it might be a little confusing toggling it (try using the left and right keys on your keyboard on the "control settings", it took me a while to figure out)

The game is great, and if you're willing to overlook these non-game-breaking issues, you're in for a great ride. I managed to 100% the game in exactly 24 hours, but I had prior knowledge of the game, since I own the PS2 version.

Great idea for an HDMI cable, unfortunately it does NOT produce good results. Bought 4 of these for my new Denon surround system and liked the idea of the 90 degree plus the angle curve on these cables. Unfortunately they lose signal constantly and I had to replace two of them already. For instance, had one going to my PS3 and it would constantly drop the signal, LCD would black out and refresh till it picked up the signal from the Denon and showed it on the screen again. Same thing happened to my Blu-Ray Player. I simply pulled those cables and replaced them with the higher end ones I had pulled out previously and no problems since.

Analog cables are like a garden hose, the bigger they are, the more signal can get through. Digital cables, unless physically broken, or compromised in some way have no signal loss if the o or the i get through signal received. It is the signal converter that turns it back into high quality audio or video.

Monster and the others selling $100+ cables, spend vast amounts of money on advertising to massage the ignorant and arrogant out of their money.

This Amazon Basics High Speed HDMI Cable articulates two directions (very cool). The cable is clean looking, well put together and does not look cheap. At this price a guy can buy several, just to have around.

Honest reviews on AmazonBasics High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet - Flat Cable

Super cable! Love the fact that it's flat and that the actual connector swivels to make room. Don't know if the internet component works because I wasn't aware that you needed a compatible device for it's proper use. Solidly built. Worth every cent.

I liked the concept of the cables but had problems with the implementation. I was really pleased with the idea, but had problems a few weeks after I started using them with "digital artifacts" on some channels from my HD TV box. Since they were brand new cables and we had been having off and on problems with the HD box, I didn't even suspect the cables. But after going around with the cable company for a bit and setting up a service call, I decided to change out cables just to be sure. I tried a few other cables and all the others worked fine, but every time I switched back to the AmazonBasics cable I had the artifacts show up. I ended up switching back to a regular cable. I purchased these so they would tuck back nicely behind my TV and not stick out visibly from the side (which they did) but I figured if they were going to give me problems it wasn't worth it. So I returned them. I *may* have simply had a bad cable, but I didn't want to go through the hassle since I had some working cables available.

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is a downloadable title that just recently hit the consoles and PC market. You may not have heard much about it since the marketing of the game seems to have been a bit on the low, but I got wind of it and couldn't resist picking up a title based off of a childhood favorite. Does this downloadable title offer enough game for the $10 price tag or is it destined to be forgotten in the cesspool that is Slimers stomach? Read on to find out.

The game begins with a comic book style story intro. There's no voice work, just text in comic style on pictures. You are introduced to a strange artifact that originates over 4,000 years ago and is now wreaking havoc on NYC. You play as one of four rookie Ghostbusters who are helping the real Ghostbusters handle their large work load. The story does tie into the lore that we all know and love but don't expect anything state of the art in terms of storytelling. For the most part, you are just going to be shooting stuff.

Gameplay, as stated earlier, is pretty basic. You point and shoot. Ghosts will come from all directions and try to run into you or shoot stuff at you. You will travel through a level going through rooms, hallways, or streets and eventually come face to face with a boss ghost who takes a lot of punishment with a pretty big health bar. You will die a lot in this game and when you do, you can be revived. As long as someone is left standing the game will go on. Reviving someone consists of standing over their body and spamming the A or X button (consoles) or space bar (PC). The gameplay is fun enough, for a while, but after playing for a solid hour or so you'll begin to feel the tedium of exactly what you are doing. The enemies may change, the scenery may change, but you're really not doing anything different. You'll shoot and move throughout the level. Throughout levels you'll find pickups and collectibles, but it doesn't really help the game in the boring department. It jut gets old way too quick and you're left waiting for something, anything to happen that will mix up the gameplay. Keep waiting, it's not coming.

So, if you are a hardcore Ghostbusters fan, you probably don't even need to read a review about the game, you bought it and are making your own opinion of it. If not, you probably should avoid this one and go find another shooter. There's plenty of other games on the market that will offer a much better and varied experience than Ghostbusters: SoL.

My son has a PS2 Ghostbusters game, he LOVES the ghostbusters. He has been begging me for a long time for another game, I couldn't find another PS2 game but when I found this I was ecstatic. He loves it! I have watched him play it a few times and it seems true to me for ghostbuster style. The previous review mentioned about the voice over, I honestly see no issues with it. My son is happy so I am happy.

Special controllers are almost necessary for playing SFIV with any degree of skill. This is the poor man's alternative to a fight stick, but it is certainly a great piece of hardware. The buttons are laid out well and the pad just feels great.

After about a week or two of vigorous use however my right bumper stopped being as "clicky" as it used to be, but still functions great a month in.

This also works for whatever else you might need for 2d fighters/old school games. Works in Windows and I use it quite frequently in the Gametap service to play all kinds of old classic arcade games.

Definitely a great buy.

The two previous reviews have nothing to do with the product, so I felt a real review was in order. For those who own Street Fighter IV, these controllers are a must have. The directional joystick is much easier to use than the standard xbox 360 joystick. The real kicker for me is that they moved the RB and RT buttons to the front of the controller for the traditional street fighter layout. While it is a bummer that they are not wireless (damn you microsoft!), the 9' of cable was plenty for me to sit back on my couch and play comfortable without fear of pulling the controller out of the system. It's not impossible to use an original controller, but it much more fun and it's easier to use these. They feel very durable in my hands. If this review is not as indepth as you would like, take a look on bestbuy.com for example and read the reviews there. I do feel sorry for the people that have been put off by sellers on this website, but please use the feedback system to lodge your complaints.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Street Fighter IV FightPad - Blanka

After reading the mixed reviews for this controller, mostly leaning towards negative. I decided to go for it anyway. I grew up playing fighting games with a D-Pad not a joystick or an analog stick. Sega Genesis and Sega Saturn D-Pad's to be exact. But the Official Xbox 360 Controller D-Pad is horrible in comparison to those. So I needed something to replace it. Basically just about any other 3rd party D-Pad for the 360 is going to be better. Thats how bad the official 360 controllers D-Pad is. So yes this controller has a nice D-Pad. When I want to go forward or back. It does it and nothing else. Up or down. It does that as I wanted. up & forward or up & backward. Also does it, no problem. Special Movies...much easier. I can't say its the greatest D-Pad in the world. But it is more then good enough to make an old school Genesis/Saturn player like me happy. The button layout is also nice for old school fans. Having the buttons laid out similiar to a Genesis/Saturn Controller or Arcade button layout. It works great. The buttons are slightly more springy which is good for fighting games. All the buttons and controls worked perfect for me. No delay, improper or unresponsive controls. I didn't have to mash them to make them respond nor did I lightly tap them and they responded too quickly. It felt just right in response. Comparable to an Official 360 Controller. This is also a great controller for any game that is on live arcade that you may be used to playing on a D-Pad. Sonic The Hedgehog games for instance. It works nicely. The pad gives turbo which is a cheat basically but it works nicely for people who enjoy that sort of thing and isn't hard to use. The pad has a switch on the lower back that lets you change the D-Pad to the Left 360 Analog Stick Control or Right 360 Analog Stick Control. This is a limited feature but it makes a few newer 360 games playable that might otherwise not be, if you want to use this controller for such games. But overall this controller is for fighting games and old school games. The overall layout of the controller felt very nice in my hands. The Street Fighter IV photo (Blanka in my case) looks very nice. The controller had a light rubberized grip on the back. Felt very comfortable in my hands. People with large hands, small hands or anything in between, shouldn't have a problem with it.

But there is a few things one should know about this controller and understand first. Most games that use a 6 button layout such of Street Fighter II HD, Garou Mark Of The Wolves, Samurai Showdown II, etc. Will not automatically work with the controller. You'll need to manually map out the buttons. Usually by accessing the games settings screen. It's very easy to do and once you do it. Your playing the game like it should be played. No bumpers needed. Just a D-Pad and 6 buttons. Nice and simple. Street Fighter IV of course does worth perfectly with the controller from the start. It was afterall made for that game specifically. But most games which require six buttons will need to be manually set. The other issue is the controller does not feel very durable. After a few days of use, it still works fine for me. But it feels rather hollow. The build quality is certainly not that of an Official Xbox 360 Controller which feels strong in comparison.

The final two things I should mention are not the controller makers fault, but something you should rememeber, it's not wireless and it doesn't have rumble. So keep that in mind. I got over both of those issues very quickly when I felt the nostalgia of playing games like I used to when I was younger. The old Genesis style controllers. I got that feeling back right away. The official 360 controller doesn't give off that feel for older games.

And so I say, do not hesitate if your looking for a great controller for retro games, It works great, it looks great. It does exactly what I hoped it would do and more.

This controller is good. Feels light and a bit chincy when u 1st pik it up. had it a few months all the buttons still funtion. theres really not much of a choice when it comes to fight pads i find. only arcadesticks.

I once had a six button sega genesis controller when SS2 first released...similiar but smaller than a sega saturn controller. Ideally, the six botton genesis contoller for my 360 would be great. At the moment this controller is the next best thing...

I preordered this on the 10th of Feb and received it on the 25th. Not too sure what the deal is with the others, why they haven't gotten theirs.

Needless to say, this controller is fantastic. The moves for SFIV are easy to pull off. Button layout is just like the old Saturn controller. It beats having to hit the triggers for the High Punch/Kick. The turbo feature is great too for other games.

As a gamer, I've found that there are many different kinds of games. And due to the many different kinds out there, you have to have an open mind to truly enjoy them all. This game is no exception to that rule, so if you are not open to over-the-top violence and absurd lines of dialogue kin to Duke Nukem . . . well, please stay away.

To make things simple, here's what I've found:

Pros

-Entertaining / Fun.

-Short but lasting. The main story is fairly short, however, the variety of weapons and ways to kill leave a lot that can be done over multiple plays.

-Variety of weapons

-Open to DLC / sequel.

-Wonderfully epic moments. The boss fights were quite memorable.

Cons

-Can be repetitive

-If you don't enjoy linear games, stay away. There is one set path, with some secrets but nothing major off track.

-Lack of versus multiplayer

-Extremely short. If you're looking for a long lasting story, this isn't it.

-Not enough boss fights. The boss fighters were epic, but there weren't enough of them.

All in all, this game is a lot of fun. If you're annoyed by cursing, violence, or extremely over-the-top action stereotypes though, this will not be enjoyable for you.

The title of this piece refers to an interview I once saw with the developers of Halo: Combat Evolved. This was Bungie's big goal, to create 30 seconds of fun for the gamer, and then let him do it again and again. And it worked Halo is arguably one of the greatest FPS franchises in the business!

However, without fail, the same thing could be said for just about EVERY shooter out there. Point, shoot, reload, point, shoot, reload... Still fun though, right?

People Can Fly and Epic Studios have done just that with their new opus, Bulletstorm. Only, this time, they added a couple new wrinkles to that 30 seconds; a nifty new tool, the tether; and a carnival house devoted to pain! Just about everywhere one looks in Bulletstorm, one sees something they wouldn't want to get too close to in real life cactus covered in deadly spikes, exposed electrical wiring, man-eating plants, etc. Each of these things are designed to be used by the player to rack up crazy combinations of over the top violence visited upon the bodies of maniacal (and most probably cannibalistic) muties out to kill you. The more you manage to wring out of a combo, the more points you get. However, since points in Bulletstorm equate to cash, and cash is what you need to buy more ammo and upgrades for your fabulously twisted weapons arsenal, it behooves the player to be as creative in his kills as he possibly can. This "skillshot system" is what changes everything People Can Fly obviously love video-games, and it shows in a perfectly balanced system designed to reward player creativity with bigger and better toys...

One example is the flailgun, a weapon you find early on that shoots spiked grenades connected by a chain like a sadistic bolo, perfect for tying up a foe which you can then use to fling into a group of his buddies before remotely setting off the explosives, multiplying your skillshot count by the overall amount of enemies. If any of them end up stuck to a cactus, or slamming up against an explosive barrel, you get credit for those things, too! All these seemingly disparate mini-atrocities add up to one big score, which the player can then use to buy themselves something nice from the store. And since every item in the store is a weapon or something weapon-related, that "something nice" is definitely gonna be something you like. This, of course, is just one small example not only does each weapon have a secondary mode, they also have their own specific skillshots to unlock inspiring the player to use each weapon in ways he may never have thought about before!

As for re-playability, Bulletstorm has that in spades. Playing thru the campaign opens up challenge areas you can take on separately by yourself, or with a couple of friends (the main campaign has co-op as well!). Your scores are kept track of and placed on the gamerboards for everyone else to see. The better you get at manipulating each one of these spaces, squeezing out more and more skillshot points, the better you end up being in the campaign upon every consecutive play-thru. In the end, the experience is akin to billiards the better you get at it, the more satisfying the experience. And with graphics this good, and characters this fun to hang out with, you're gonna want to get better...

On the subject of multi-player, results can be mixed. If you're playing with friends with a common goal, you're gonna have a lot of fun. If you're playing with strangers, you're probably not gonna have any fun at all as most of the gameplay relies on mutual cooperation and good communication. But with a single-player experience this good, who cares?

Best Deals for Bulletstorm - Xbox 360

Instead of reviewing this game on the simple story, sound, graphics, gameplay criteria I will instead review this game based on what it's advertised as being. I find that to be a more realistic scale than comparing every game to each other. Instead I'll just tell you what Bulletstorm delivers from what it promises. The quoted statements below will be comments Epic Games put out to advertise why people should buy Bulletstorm.

"Incredible New "Skillshot" System Combine outrageous gunplay with Bullet storm's unique kick, slide and leash mechanics as you kill with skill. Every enemy presents a new opportunity for stylish, over-the-top and ever increasingly bloody ways to take them down."

10/10 The skillshot system is everything promised in the advertising and more. It is fun, it encourages fun strategy and is awesome to watch. Basically what this is is when you kill an enemy in a creative way you get more skill points to use for buying guns, ammo, upgrades, and buying new guns. So as you play you find that kicking an enemy into a giant cactus, throwing them off a cliff, or shooting them in the butt is much more cost effective than playing this like a standard FPS and just shooting from cover. Bulletstorm is also kind enough to have a data chart showing you which attack you have done and which ones you haven't so you can focus on new ones. It works wonderfully at encouraging players to develop new playing styles and experiment with new strategies, where so many other FPS's discourage creative play and boil down to hoarding ammo and shooting from cover or running and shooting. That won't work in Bulletstorm since if you play like that you'll get less ammo, and less upgrades, and the game really will be less fun since the skillshots really are quite impressive to look at.

"The Circle of Awesome Kill with skill to rack up the points. Cash in these points for upgrades. Use these upgrades to pull off even bigger and better "skillshots" and earn even more points. Bulletstorm's upgrade system truly is a circle of awesome that rewards players who kill in the most creative ways."

10/10 My comments on this are the exact same as for the skillshot system. You upgrade your weapons by activating dropkits and spending skill point you get from creative killshots to get better stuff. The two systems complement each other beautifully and it really is hard to come up with such a good system to promote gameplay, the right amount of fun and incentive to make the system work.

"Badass Weaponry From your trusty Peace Maker Carbine to the explosive Flail Gun, Bulletstorm delivers an arsenal of the most inventive, death-dealing weapons ever seen that truly put the fun back into the First Person Shooter."

7/10 LIES! Lies, slander and blood libel! Not really but they are stretching truth to the breaking point, the weapons are very generic and standard FPS weapons any FPS player should immediately recognize. They have specific names but they're irrelevant, despite their names what the weapons really are, are a machine gun, a pistol, a shotgun, a sniper rifle, a grenade launcher, and one weapon that I didn't unlock. In the game you also get temporary weapons like miniguns. Each weapon has an upgrade which all boil down to a secondary fire/explosion based attack, and while they're really cool looking and good for gameplay purposes Epic games is lying straight to your face when they say their weapons are "the most inventive" they're not. The only reason I didn't make this 5/10 is because one weapon the electric whip you get very early is awesome and inventive and makes some parts of the game hilarious and fun and is in fact "death-dealing" as the advertisements claim. So to recap the weapons are not in any way inventive, but they are fun and deadly, and the whip is new and inventive and the guided sniper rifle set up might be new to some players, but not likely.

"A Pulp Sci-fi Adventure Featuring a script by the acclaimed Marvel Comics writer Rick Remender (The Punisher), Bulletstorm takes you on a journey filled with plot twists and turns from betrayal to revenge and ultimately redemption."

7/10 This was kind of hard to judge, the story wasn't great by any means, but Epic games came right out and said it's a pulp sci-fi adventure so we know no realism or unique plot devices are going to be in the game. Which is good, this is what us players want; we want game developers to be honest about what they're selling instead of hyping up their product when it doesn't warrant it. The story does require suspension of disbelief, if you're going to sit there and question how humans could mutate into monsters or how a giant metal wheel could stay on a dilapidated train track in the desert than this won't be enjoyable for you. The plot does have twists and turn but all of them are very simple and many of you will subconsciously or consciously know what's coming before it happens. That being said though the story isn't boring, it's easy to follow and does give satisfying explanation on who Grayson Hunt is and surprisingly the game does pose some interesting moral questions. For example is Grayson as bad as the person he seeks revenge against for the people he's killed; this is the first FPS I've played where the main character is called out as a hypocrite for killing soldiers who were following their orders while at the same seeing himself as superior to the antagonist who kills innocents to achieve their own ends, who actually killed less people. You won't get that in most plot driven games, seeing it in Bulletstorm was impressive. Grayson's status as a hero, anti-hero, or just a person is completely open to interpretation from the player. The only major flaw with the games story was the ham fisted way they made it so they could set it up for a sequel. The plot had no resolution and both our antagonist and protagonist are in the exact same position as when the game starts. Because of that I can only give Bullestorms plot a 7/10, if the ending had been better I would have given it an 8 or 9 just because I support the game makers choice to be honest about the quality of the story line, but they ruined it by going for a cheap cliffhanger ending that can only be resolves through a sequel.

"A Dangerous Planet of Forgotten Paradise Travel from scorched desserts to tropical forests and an adult playground resort on a beautifully realized paradise defiled, delivered by the power of the Unreal Engine."

10/10 This one was easy, the graphics are incredible, the environment is great, the levels aren't too repetitive and it was enjoyable to travel through Bulletstorm. If all you want is good graphics and fun gameplay just read this and buy it. For the rest know that Bulletstorm goes through a decaying planet inhabited by feral humans and mutants constantly warring for food and you have to make it through the large decaying city through the various gangs and monsters in sewers, dams, city streets, disco balls, a horizontally collapsed skyscraper. The game graphics are good, they are bright, colorful, flashy, and are a nice change of pace from the dark grays, whites, and browns so common in most FPS's.

In total Bulletstorm has great graphics, awesome skillpoint system and is really fun to play. The story is nothing special and the ending isn't good and the weapons are not unique, but that doesn't take away from Bulletstorm as much as I make it sound. It's a very high quality shooter, with great graphics, and creative game mechanics and honest advertising that should be rewarded over other games that keep releasing the same game over again with new maps and weapons and different characters. Bulletstorm brings something new, it's fun, and that's all I ask for. If you have any questions I'll respond to them in the comments section.

Honest reviews on Bulletstorm - Xbox 360

I'm writing this review for the gamers that are still trying to decide whether or not to buy this game. Here's the short answer; Rent it or wait until it hits $30 NEW.

Mini Review (Short and Fun Just like the Game-lol):

The Story (wait Bulletstorm has a story?)

The story is set in the future and the character you play is a guy named Grayson Hunt. He's a mixture of Marcus from Gears, Russell Crowe in Gladiator, and a drunken' swearing Uncle. If you so much as tripped over a FPS (First Person Shooter) you'll know the story cuz there all the same: You're a badass, who's got a chip on his shoulder, and someone backstabbed you so now you have to go get some revenge. You go from point A to point B like any other FPS, but in this game you're doing it in style. I did laugh occasionally thru ought the story mode but I basically skipped most of the cut scenes toward the end (which is cool that Epic allowed the player to do that). Oh yeah and there's a lot of swearing ....a lot.

Graphics/Sound

If you have surround sound this game kicks. I also can't say enough about the graphics. They're no Crysis 2, but they sure look good. Nuff said.

Gameplay

Let me start out by saying just get thru the first Two Chapters. The rest of the game (7 Chapters overall) is a blast. By Chapter 4 you're able to start really leveling up (more guns and add ons) and experiencing what the game really has to offer.

This game was made buy Epic (Unreal and Gears of Wars games) so they know what there doing. The controls are tight and fluid. Like I said before if you've played a FPS before you'll feel right at home. Bulletstorm's gimmick is something called the "Leash". You hit one of the thumper buttons and it brings your enemies to you. Which from there you can kick that enemy back into walls, kick'em and shoot'em, or just blast'em right there. This gives you kill points or kill/style points. The crazier your moves the more points you get. This overall is fun and cool but it does get stale only because of the game's limit of understanding of skill points. What I mean is I "Leashed" an enemy, kicked him up in the air, shot him in the head and a guy right behind him all at the same time and got 250 pts. It's hard to explain but if you saw it you'd be like wait he did that, and he got the minimum? What gives?

Replay Value

Online play has horde mode (fight swarms of enemies with friends/online players), and Echo's mode (Revisit any chapter and try to get a higher score).

Bottom Line (3 our of 5)

It was a simple, fun, funny experience, just short on replay value. Even though this game isn't selling that well I hope Epic decides to make another one.

No Online Multiplayer ( Team Deathmatch) kills buying this game for $60 for me. If you feel the same rent the game (to just play the story mode) or like I said buy it for $30 NEW. If you rent the game or buy it used ...you have to spend $10 online to unlock Echos Mode or the online horde mode (which isn't worth it).

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Bulletstorm - Xbox 360

First off, this game is very fun, but there's no need for anyone to buy this game; people should just rent it. The main story is pretty short (I'd guess around 6-8 hours though I'm not sure) and there's really no other modes to sink your teeth into. There's a challenge mode where you can join your friends and essentially play small portions of levels. However, with no competitive aspect and little variety it quickly becomes boring.

The story is a relatively generic jock sci-fi throwaway which ends up taking place solely in a blown up theme park. The game is very vulgar, but in a childish way where it's so stupid it's kind of funny. However other times it comes back around and you're left just shaking your head. The leash is an interesting gaming weapon, but it is very simplistic, allowing for very limited attacks and experimentation. Most effective attacks boil down to leash a guy to you (unless they're "too fast" which was annoyingly ridiculous) kick them away and blow of their head. The guns you get are pretty cool, but with very limited ammo most of the time and only two weapon spots the fun is limited. Also, the coolest part of the weapons, getting a new one and trying it out on a bunch of baddies, ends around 3/4 of the way through.

The whole point system is very interesting, with how the leash gives him the hud and points for effective play resulting in ammo and weapon upgrades, but at the same time it gives points for things that break the idea. For example groin shots (dude, you just don't shoot another guy in the d*ck), getting drunk, and killing insects. Why not just get rid of all the pretense and make a wicked awesome game, who cares if it does or doesn't make sense.

Finally, I had a multitude of glitches, the worst being a game breaking glitch where I had to restart the whole level. Along with that large glitch (of which I've heard there are many other gamebreaking glitches, mostly involving your AI partner getting stuck) there are many other smaller ones, for example some of the animations/challenges not activating when they should (especially for nut shots).

In the end, this game is essentially a placeholder for Gears of War 3. If they didn't have to release it when they did, I think Epic could have had an absolutely amazing game on their hands.

I can't stress enough how excellent this game is(provided you like the genre). Cave has long been known as one of the kings of bullet hell type games, but this is surprisingly the first Cave game to be localized for a US release on a console. The only other I know of to get on shore at all is Espgaluda II, which was released on iPhone and is also an excellent port.

Synopsis

There are basically 6 different versions of the game. They are split up into the original arcade port, a version 1.1 arrange version and an xbox 360 specific version. There are 2 versions of each of those, the normal and the MBL(mega black label) version. MBL versions are a special edition of sorts. In that version there is 1 extra character playable and 1 extra level.

Anyway, you are presented with a choice of 4 different girls to play and you play through an other world where you are attacked by monsters and spirits typical of a Halloween setting. You will fight flying pumpkins, ghosts, goblins and Death himself. As you progress farther the difficulty increases and you eventually reach the your goal. Don't worry about whether or not you'll make it here. There are different difficulty levels selectable per level, and you can continue after deaths. Difficulty levels range from a relative easy to blisteringly hard so you can suit that to your own tastes. There's even a "Level 999" option if you really want to hurt yourself.

As far as controls go, they are spot on. You'll never feel like you're fighting the game to do what you want. Everything is fluid and solid.

Finally, there are several nice extra features. You get online leaderboards, a score attack mode, replay saving so you can watch how you did and a practice mode for attacking a specific level until you get it right.

I really can't recommend this title enough if you enjoy these types of games. We don't often even see bullet hell shooters on US soil. It would be a shame to pass up one of the best ones.

If you grew up playing old school 2D shoot 'em ups like I did and hate to see that Japan is getting all the new old school games then you'll be happy with this U.S. release of Deathsmiles. It features side scrolling 2D action with very tight controls. Designed by Cave, modern "bullet hell" masters. This game even on harder settings didn't feel too difficult. You'll want to play through the various game types more than once which is needed if you want to unlock the various Achievements. The bonus soundtrack and faceplate is a nice touch since this limited edition retails for less than more new releases.

This game is fantastic. CAVE, the Japanese company known for their manic shooters, released their first U.S. game ever, Deathsmiles. Deathsmiles was released in Japan in April of 2009, but U.S. gamers without an imported Japanese Xbox were not able to play it. Luckily, Aksys Games released it here for everyone to enjoy. The game itself is instantly addictive, devilishly difficult and incredibly addictive. The crisp, colorful 2D graphics shine through the waves of bullets and enemies and even with hundreds of bullets on screen, everything is easily visible and highly detailed. The music matches the feeling and mood of each level, from pumping metal to eerie classical. The game's dark lolita theme is brilliantly captured by CAVE...each level has its own life and personality. The gameplay is where the game really shines. This is CAVE's second horizontal shooter (the other being an arcade game from the 90's--Progear) but they have really shown their versatility with it. The character can shoot both left and right. Enemies attack from both sides of the screen, a formula that is very unique and very entertaining. It's the kind of game you can play in an hour but spend a lifetime perfecting. Highly recommended for any shooter fans, vertical or horizontal.

Honest reviews on Deathsmiles Limited Edition -Xbox 360

First off, Im not going to "whine" about the graphicsTheyre sprite based which i like anyway, and it seems for some reason nowadays the kiddies only like shiny polygons and dismiss 2d graphics.

This game isnt about shiny graphics anyway, its about GAMEPLAY.

Let me first say that Im a big fan of shmups. The original R-Type is still my favorite shooter to play,(although Gradius V comes super close) along with UN Squadron, Lifeforce, Thunderforce series, Raiden I, II and IV, and 1943/45/xx to name a few. I tend to prefer horizontal shooters to vertical ones and Im glad CAVE chose to port Deathsmiles to usa, being as its a horizontal shooter.

There's a ton of different modes available, and the achievements are what really keep me coming back for more, simply because there's some to cater to the more novice player, and others which cater to the hardcore players. Beating the game with each character (4 total)+plus picking where they go after the game is over adds replay value. On top of that each character isnt a copy/paste job-they each have slightly different speeds and have different shooting patterns. And although there are unlimited continues, there's achievements for each character that challenges you to beat the game without continuing-on any difficuly level, (1,2,or 3). I have to say, beating the game with Rosa without continuing felt very rewarding in itself.

Arcade mode has the original graphics which look a bit rough since its a direct port which is fine. On the other hand, Xbox 360 mode looks great on my 42 inch lcd tvand i have it stretched to 16:9 and i have no issues with the look of the game at all. So far Ive probably put about 5 hours of playtime in to the game on Xbox 360 mode alone and have yet to play the Mega Black Label and the Arranged Version, so theres still a lot of game left to enjoy. Online co-op is a nice touch as well, and being able to save your own replays plus save replays from top players on the leaderboards acts as a built in guide to see when and where to use your powered up shots and so forth.

You get 3 bombs per life, and as you kill enemies you get skulls, if you let them hit the ground then pick them up, theyre worth more to add to the total. Get 1000 total and you get to activate a short "power up" mode which makes your shots more powerful and cover a wider area for a short amount of time. Combine this with a point multiplier and it makes it feel rewarding when you find the perfect spot in each level that was designed for this, which maximizes your points and gets you closer to earning an extra 1-up and boast a higher score on the leaderboardsa nice touch. :)

One thing i just dont get is the whole underage lolita thing thats taken over the shmup genre. Its strange how the genre went from spaceships to underage girls shooting stuff, but whatever, a shmup is a shmup i guess. :)

And one more thing-Who cares if its short? Since when does a game have to be X number of hours to be fun? Mega Man 2 can be beat in 45 minutes, and ive beat that game probably 100 times and still enjoy playing it to this day because its FUN...Deathsmiles is the exact same way. If youre a shmup fan, would you really want to play a 10+ hour shmup? I sure wouldnt!!

All in all to me, its well worth the $50. Its a refreshing break from the constant onslaught on FPS games that come out week after week. The extra stuff is nice, but all i care about is the game so i consider that a bonus item. If you enjoy horizontal shmups like i do, do yourself a favor and pick this game up. We need more games like this here in the states and not just Japan.

Excellent game. Cave has outdone themselves yet again.

Deathsmiles is an excellent port of the arcade game, but it also includes the Mega Black Label DLC already on the disk. This means that you get 6 game versions on one disk.

Hopefully Aksys releases more of Cave's games in the future!

This headset is actually not bad at all. What impressed me was the 50mm diameter speakers, while playing a game you will have no problem hearing little sounds like footsteps. Another thing I noticed is that these are actually not bad when it comes to noise cancellation. The build quality is not the best but don't forget this headset is under $40. If you somewhat are a gamer and you need an above average headset, these are for you. Trust me you will not regret buying these.

I previously had an $180 pair of headphones that were really comfortable, but the mic kept cutting in and out. GameComPro1 PC Gaming Headset A friend I play games with recommended Turtle Beach, and I saw this cheaper pair that had not yet released. I preordered and got it earlier than I expected, so I was pleased on the response time.

With the actual headphones, I've found two problems. One, I'm worried that the mic moves TOO much, but with the design, I'm not worried about the wires getting messed up with the dynamic link-type of movement. So it's plastic, but very protected. Then, the cups of the actual headphones clasp completely around my ears. At first it was painful to wear, but they've morphed to my large head since then, and fit wonderfully. So just the mic one is a really big deal, but that just means don't wrap and unwrap the mic and twist it every which way for long periods like any other mic.

But the sound quality is amazing, and the volume and mute buttons on the cord are higher up, compared to my last set which was at my feet pretty much. The cord is also not that long, so my chair isn't on the cord all the time. The plastic itself is pretty indestructible, my roommate stepped on it and it was fine. A bit big to take for handheld devices, especially with the mic, but wonderful for online gaming. The sound quality of my voice sounds great, better than my last pair. I would recommend this to anyone.

This is an excellent headset for its price, the best I have used for its price bracket. I have used extensivley the Turtle Beach X12, the Logitech Clearchat Premium, the Microsoft Lifechat lx-3000, and this Z11.

Why is it the best?

The second best are the X12's which are similar. The x12s are designed mainly for console gaming, but they work great on the PC too. The main issue I had with the X12's were that they were amplified which I personally do not like. There is a constant quiet hissing noise in the background due to the amplifier, which may not bother other people. The Z11's get louder then my ears can handle so amplification is not needed.

The Microsoft Lifechat lx-3000's were ok. They hurt my ears after about an hour on my head and the earcups did not breathe very good. The earcups like to popoff the headband sometimes too, but it was never an issue popping them back on. Also they had a very strange issue. They had a strange limited volume range. If I moved the volume slider all the way down (doesn't matter the computer or operating system I tried this on) a normal headset would be completely quiet, but these seemed like all the way down was around %33 volume which is strange.

The Logitech Clearchat Premiums were crap and I do not reccomend them. One of the earcups snapped off. They sounded worse then the other headsets, and they made my ears feel terrible. I do not reccomend these. The price was right however.

The Z11s are the best I have used for cheap headsets. They are the most comfortable by far (same as x12's). More importantly they are not amplified, so there is no hisssssss in the background constantly (and I think they sound a little more pure for some reason). They also use a 3.5mm jack instead of USB which I personally prefer. There is a handly volume dial on the cord. USB headsets have a similar volume dial, but it just controls the windows volume slider via software. This gives ultimatley the same effect, but the hardware dial on the z11's is faster, more accurate, and can be fine tuned better. These also have the 4-conductor 3.5mm that can be used it laptops and Ipads that use it. The mic sounds great, no issue there. It has excellent sound quality with great bass, better then the others I have mentioned.

These are not 100+ dollar premium headsets. They are built cheaply to reduce costs. However I do not ever feel like I will break these. The build quality is perfectly sufficient. Overall these are the best bang for your buck if you want a good set of headphones for gaming, don't want to spend a lot, and don't want to worry a nice set getting destroyed on accident.

Honest reviews on Turtle Beach Ear Force Z11 PC Gaming Headset

I have had this headset for well over a month now and have had absolutely no technical problems with it. The sound quality on this is very good, it's extremely crisp and its mic quality is also very good as I have not had any audibility issues with any friends over Skype. Comfort wise the headset fits my head well and where with other headsets I have had to get used to them for a couple hours this one felt very natural the minute I put it on. The swiveling ears should allow it to adjust to just about every head size so no gripes there. Finally, what kept me from giving this item 5 stars was its lacking bass capabilities. If having bass on your headsets is a must for you I would recommend giving this second thoughts because unless you have some other bass source to plug it into like a set of speakers or the such you will be disappointed. Something else worth mentioning is that the cord for it is rather short even with its adapter so take that however you will.

Pros

Good audio and mic quality

Extremely comfortable

Great price

Short cord

Cons

Lacking in bass

Short cord

I purchased the Z11 with high expectations, based on everyone elses review of course not based on price. However, the z11 is just an average headset. The sound quality is adequate, nothing great whatsoever, but nothing bad. The mic is alright, it's not the worst thing, I don't get what everybody's saying that the quality is so clear? It has this annoying background noise, almost like a fan blowing in the background.

Overall, I'm satisfied with what I got because I just needed this so i'm able to play games, and or talk to my friends without bothering my roommates. If that's all you're looking for then look no further, but if you're looking for a mic that does all of that and kicks your ear drums in everytime you play, it might be worth forking up the extra $20-30.

I'm not really much of a soccer fan, though I will watch during the World Cup or European Championship tournaments and an occassional MLS game. I picked up this game on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised. Let's just say that since I've started playing, I haven't put Madden 09 back in my 360.

The controls are pretty straightforward and easy to learn. Soccer strategy was a complete mystery to me before I started playing, but after a few games I was competitive and now can consistently score a few goals a game on the hardest difficulty.

The graphics are pretty good, considering the massive environment that is a soccer field. Close-up reaction shots and celebrations are pretty realistic.

The game certainly has no shortage of teams, that's for sure. There are well over a hundred different teams from dozens of leagues from around the world with complete, accurate rosters.

I wish that there were more stadiums, however. You find yourself playing the same generic few again and again, though they do try to change it up by having different weather conditions and times of day available. I realize that they couldn't have had all of the hundreds of distinct stadiums, but a few more would have been nice.

I can't compare it to any other soccer games, since I've never played any, but if you're looking for an enjoyable, detailed, fun game, FIFA 2009 is a good choice.

I have been a fan of Konami PES games since like 99 or so back then it was known as winning eleven to most soccer gaming fans all over the world. I used to also purchase fifa and they did make some succesful attempts like fifa 99 and the most of world cup games. Honestly, ever since like 2004 i had given up on fifa. The intelligence was not there, players weren't moving while u are attacking and it was way too easy to score goals for me. This year, I read many reviews about the new Fifa and I said to myself, PES is the way to go and i went out and purchased PES again. Pes was fun at first but the glitches and the lack of leagues and online options started to bore me soooooo I GOT the new FIFA YESTERDAY!

WHAT A GAME!

1. The Graphics are beyond real. No glitches, no skips!

2. The game has everything that PES has. This includes being able to run around freely, pass however u like and shoot the ball precisely to a direction that u desire.

3. Its hard to score when u are face to face with the goalkeeper, whereas in PES the goalie just stands there and looks at u when u are trying to score a goal against him.

4.Many online and cup options

5. So many different leagues and real player names as well as a great commentary!

6.The buttons are the same as PES!! Makes it easier to get adjusted to the game

I can honestly say that Fifa is PES plus a lot more. For the first time in 10 years I am selling my PES before my Fifa.. There is no reason for any PES fan to not like this game. The buttons are the same, the graphics better, squad names are newer( Berbatov is in MANU), price is the same as PES, you can update player names and skills. EVERYTHING is much better.

I would highly recommend this game to any soccer fan. It is worth the money.

Honest reviews on FIFA Soccer 09 - Xbox 360

This game is great. It has all the right players. The player custimization is great you can make them look like anyone. There are over 100 sorts of cleats and many different balls. You can play different sorts of game modes. It has very good graphics and not Laggy at all. When you score you can do a lot of celebrations. You can play multiplayer which is very fun. You can do lots of dukes and tricks. You can juggle and do around the world. Your players can get injured, sprint, walk, jog, get hurt, be carded, and be offsides.

This game has a high replay value. I personally love it and it is one of the only games I play.

Great for any soccer fan, or just someone who like video games.

This game is superb; a vast improvement over last year's title. Trust the other reviews, the graphics in this game are ridiculously good. I won't go too much into gameplay improvements, but the EA folks took their time on this one and did it right, it's clearly noticeable.
