The controller is really good for most games i play but i can never play with my friend on singleplayer games because thr controller is too big and the analog sticks just dont move right.. But other than that ive gotten all of my pistols on mosts of my games maxxed out because of he controller :)

So I bought thid controller and let me tell you that it feels great in the hands and from a design stand point its ok. You need to press quite hard to make it work, and the other design flaw is the analog sticks and the problem witht the analog sticks is that when you try to run is games like Call of duty, you simply cant becuase you cant click the analog stick in any direction.

My biggest flaw with this controller is that the turbo fire function did not work at all. It worked for about 20 minutes until it suddenly stopped working and i am very sure im going to return it.

Overrall its just a very bad controller in my opinion, just stick with the microsoft controller or a better third party controller.

**Please note this particular console is not backward compatible with Gamecube. It only plays Wii games. For me this is a deal breaker. If you want a backward compatible console buy the Mario Kart Wii bundle, which is backward compatible and cheaper. Deciding between the Mario Kart Wii bundle and this bundle is a no-brainer in my opinion. Why pay more for this particular Wii that does less? UPDATE 11/7/2011 It appears Amazon is discontinuing sales of the Wii Mario bundle. It looks like Amazon will only directly sell the Wii console with Super Mario Bros. If you want the Wii Mario bundle you will have to buy from an authorized Amazon reseller and pay more money or you can go to another major retailer that is still stocking the Wii Mario bundle.**

The recent bundle releases are the Wii Console with Mario Kart Wii Bundle Black and the Console Black With New Super Mario Bros. The question you need to ask yourself is which of these bundles best fits you. I'll discuss what you get in each bundle and the differences/similarities below.

Included with the Mario Kart bundle for $146.98 (price fluctuates): a Wii console, Mario Kart Wii with Wii Wheel, nunchuk controller and Wii remote plus (black or white depending on the bundle you pick).

Included with the New Super Mario Bros bundle for $149.99: a Black Wii console, Black Wii remote plus, Black nunchuck, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and the Super Mario Galaxy 2 soundtrack

SIMILARITIES:

Each bundle contains a Wii console, nunchuk controller and remote plus.

KEY DIFFERENCES:

The Super Mario Bros. Wii CANNOT play Gamecube games. The New Super Mario Bros. bundle only comes in black. The Mario Kart bundle comes in black OR white.

The Mario Kart bundle includes Mario Kart and a wheel ($45.52 if bought separately), whereas the New Super Mario Bros. bundle includes the New Super Mario Bros. game ($43.99 if bought separately).

CONCLUSION: The prices are similar enough, $146.98 (fluctuates and sometimes goes to the low $140s) vs. $149.99, that it is silly to pay the same amount for a console that doesn't offer backward compatibility. Buy the Mario Kart Wii console. I'd recommend picking up the Super Mario Bros. game separately. This game is incredible. A blast from the past with 2-d scrolling and multiplayer. One of my favorites and a perennial best-seller on Amazon.

Warning! This wii console is not backwards compatible with game cube games, it has no port for the dance revolution pad, and you can not stand it upright. The Super Mario Bros game comes in a cheap paper sleave instead the usual plastic jewel case. So your game is more likely to be scratched and has no trade in value without the jewel case. Do yourself a big favor and buy the wii bundle that comes with Mario Kart. This is still backwards compatible with the game cube games. It costs a little more but its well worth it!

Best Deals for Wii Black Console with New Super Mario Brothers Wii and Music CD

I've read a lot of less than five-star reviews for this new Wii package but I have a different perspective on it.

I bought this for a family member who has never owned a Nintendo Wii and doesn't care for the game Mario Kart but loves Super Mario Bros. So this was a win-win product solution for me. It just depends on who the product package is for and their likes/dislikes. I'm concerned the negative reviews are going to make first-time buyers think there are other issues with the gaming console. If I bought the bundle that included Mario Kart, I would have had to buy Super Mario Bros separately, adding about $50 more to the cost. And not everyone cares about playing Nintendo GameCube titles, it's just a preference.

If anyone is a hardcore Wii user, I can't imagine they would consider this product anyhow, just wait for the next version of Nintendo Wii to be released in the near future.

Game On!

Honest reviews on Wii Black Console with New Super Mario Brothers Wii and Music CD

First, let me just say I love the Wii and love LOVE New Super Mario Brothers Wii. In fact, that game is the reason I bought a Wii. So my 3 star rating is not an indictment on the system or game, but rather the value of this bundle compared to the Mario Kart bundle. As a previous reviewer mentioned, this does not feature compatibility with Gamecube games and/or accessories. Obviously, that is a big negative. You'll be missing out on a vast library of games that include Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, and many other greats. Many of these games could be purchased rather cheap on here, eBay, or Gamestop.

Then there's another "feature" they removed that I don't think was mentioned yet. And that is that this system is not meant to be set up in the vertical position. This Wii is designed a little differently and is a bit smaller, what with all the Gamecube "guts" taken out. It is not designed to be placed vertically, only down like the picture on the box indicates. Consequently, it does not come with a stand. Obviously, a lot of people enjoy the vertical positioning of their Wii, whether it be for aesthetic reasons or space saving necessity.

And then, of course, you have the price. I think 149.99 is worth it for the Wii and this great game. Not, however, when there is much better value out there. Even at the MSRP of 149.99, the Mario Kart bundle is a better deal because of the Gamecube compatibility and vertical placement option. However, as some of you may be aware, Target and Walmart have permanently dropped the price of their Mario Kart bundles to $134. So you are paying 16 dollars less for a system that features Gamecube BC and a vertical stand and vertical placement option. It seems like a no brainer. In fact, when I heard that this bundle without these features was getting released, I figured it would be priced at about 100-120 dollars. I was surprised that this inferior bundle would be priced the same or in some cases like I mentioned, higher) as the superior Mario Kart bundles. The good news is that this bundle is not replacing the Mario Kart bundles. They will still be manufactured and available, this is just an alternative.

So in conclusion, I just don't think this is a good buy against the Mario Kart bundles. I love the Wii and the Mario game and urge everyone reading to buy one... just not this particular one. At least not until there is a price drop or you find a great deal that makes it worth not having the removed features. You can always buy the New Mario Bros game separately. And the advantage of doing that is that you get the game in a nice full sized red Wii case. With this bundle, you are getting it in a cheaper paper sleeve case, like Wii Sports in the past, which leaves the discs more prone to scratching and also lowers it's potential resell value, if you ever decide on selling it back for whatever reason. Hopefully this helps you make a better decision on which Wii Bundle to buy or not buy

Let me clarify that my rating isn't about the Wii in general; that deserves a 5-star. Nor is this about the bundled games, which may be worth more or less depending on the person. My review is about this particular console package, which is definitely inferior to this one: Wii Console with Mario Kart Wii Bundle Black.

Both this bundle and the other come with the standard accessories, one game, and the console itself. There are also some small items in each one (the SMG 2 soundtrack and the Wii Wheel, respectively), but I'm largely ignoring those. As both bundles sell for about $150, the significant differences are simply these:

This console is not backward compatible. The other bundle's console is.

This console can only be placed horizontally. The other one can be placed horizontally or vertically.

And that's really about it. If this bundle was selling for $100 or so, I could see buying it. But it's directly competing with a different console package that provides more. Happy hunting!

PS As a point of comparison, Japan is also getting a new Wii bundle next month. It retains the same price, backward compatibility, and vertical placement; but it also has an extra Wiimote.

The driver installation for this device is unorthodox. Even though this is technically a Microsoft product, you will have to find the correct divers on the microsoft website, and do some adjustments in the device manager in order to get Windows to recognize it.

after all that trouble, it works like a dream.

Being a scifi fan, when I first saw this game for cheap,I thought I'd give it a try. My expectations were low. At first I didn't think too highly of my purchase until I figured out all the controls. Such as(you must use reverse thrust to keep the enemies in front of you). The more I played the game the more I liked it. The Metacritic score is 65 out of 100. Though the reviews are positive, they all mention that this is a 4 year old PC port. I believe, if this game would not have come out earlier on PC and was new, it would have scored higher, perhaps around low 80's. Myself, I would give it a 90. The game looks great, contols great, and has different difficulty settings. If things get too tough all you have to do is spend some time upgrading your ship before progressing. The story is on par with any other video game narrative,(That is to say it's average). It has addictive gameplay and is a very long game.

Before I get into my review I'd like to preface with some quick side notes that don't affect my rating:

1. The Amazon product images as of this writing are unrelated to this item (other than the same publisher: Kalypso). I was nervous about ordering this item because of this, but I did receive the actual DarkStar One game.

2. I've been a serious gamer for over 20 years.

3. I have never played the original PC version (DarkStar One (DVD-Rom)) of this game.

DarkStar One (DSO from here on) is a surprisingly fun space shooter that manages to defy traditional game classification. Is it action? Is it an rpg? Is it an adventure? Is it a space shooter? All of these descriptions fit in some way, and all are used to describe the game in its own marketing, but DSO doesn't seem to favor any one of them. This makes for an interesting and unique gaming experience that doesn't come along very often. The game seems to subtly adjust around around your playing style based on the missions you decide to take on.

If you want some action then get out there and hunt down some space pirates. It seems like the more you hunt down pirates, the more the game throws them at you.

If you want some "rpg" then scour the 300+ solar systems for artifacts to "level" your ship up. The rpg elements in DSO are geared specifically towards upgrading your ship as opposed to your character in traditional rpg style.

If you want some adventure then follow the main/side story lines to solve a mystery surrounding your father's death.

There are even elements of economic management as you can buy/sell trade goods from "Trade Stations" located in every solar system.

Above all, however, DSO's greatest achievement is its potential to function as a great casual game or a game to dive into head first and get lost in for hours. Whether you want to kill a little time with some mindless action or bunk off from school/work to spend the day with DSO...either way, it can deliver. This is fairly rare in video games, IMHO.

But all is not perfect in the world of DSO. Despite the marketing boasts of 1080P for the xbox 360 version, the cut scenes seem like they didn't get a makeover for this port. Personally this doesn't really bother me, and I didn't rate accordingly. Just fair warning that the cut scenes are a bit dated. Other than that the graphics are great with excellent frame rates. Also, space battles can be a bit repetitious but they're still tons of fun. Finally, my number one complaint, and the reason I couldn't give DSO 5 stars: the controls.

Slightly unintuitive but relatively easy to master. The controls are good enough but leave room for improvement. You set your "Basic Propulsion" (your cruising speed, essentially) by holding the left trigger and moving the right stick up (100%) or down (0%). But you can temporarily adjust your speed on-the-fly by moving the right stick up or down *without* holding the left trigger. It sounds strange in print, and it took some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it things start to make sense. But the control scheme fails with its minimalist approach to customization. You can adjust stick sensitivity and invert Y-axis, but that's about it. I would have given this game 5 stars with much more in-depth control customization.

Great game at bargain bin pricing.

Greetings Amazonites!

Darkstar One is an okay game. It reminds me of some old school PC games; it's definitely more strategy/sim than anything else. You are the pilot of an advanced ship that can be upgraded by spending money or finding artifacts. You have a large galaxy to explore. There is an underlying story, but you can avoid it by doing any number of available missions.

GRAPHICS & SOUND (4 stars): the visual quality is great. There isn't much to gawk at when not in space; the only other environments are static shots of a space station (interior) or some cut scenes of interior areas. While not jaw-dropping, the space environments are appropriately large and impressive. The stars, asteroids, planets, and so on will definitely impress anyone. The other space ships are less impressive--most are a little blocky or have some fuzzy textures.

The sound quality can't be knocked. The music is appropriate and unintrusive; it's not amazing, but it doesn't muck with the gameplay. The sound effects are good, but not great. The weapons, explosions, and other effects convey the atmosphere well.

CONTROLS & GAMEPLAY (2 stars): the controls only pertain to action while in space. You fly, shoot, and manage things with various buttons. I found the controls to be awkward and a little clunky. There's two different ways to accelerate and slow down, but the difference between the two isn't clearly explained. There are ways to match a target's speed, but it's mapped to the D-pad; it's a little odd to steer with the L-stick and then reach down to tap something--requiring you to release the steering control. The in-flight controls could use some serious work.

It takes some getting used to before you can fly and shoot accurately. I found it frustrating, which contributed to the game losing a lot of fun in my eyes. I can easily imagine this game being much more manageable on a PC--and I think it was intended as such.

In the space stations, you're just navigating menus and selecting items--it's a no brainer. The controls are irrelevant.

DESIGN & STORY (2 stars): there isn't much of a story to speak of. The backdrop is something about a mysterious ship left to the main character by his father; somewhere in the game, you can pursue how your father died and unlock the mysteries of the ship. None of this is laid out in the beginning cinematic (which makes no sense). Fortunately, the main story isn't that important. Your quest to complete jobs, upgrade the ship, and explore the galaxy is motivation enough to get out there.

There are plenty of jobs to do and places to explore. The fast travel points (gates in space) make these trips manageable. There are space stations at most major planets or installations, so finding a place to dock is easy. At any docking site, you can buy/sell commodities and upgrade your ship--as well as search for new jobs. While I enjoy the freedom of picking jobs and flying around, the lack of any coherence at all wears thin very fast.

NUTSHELL: The cool space environments and freeform missions aren't enough to counteract the wacky controls and lack of coherent story. It's ultimately a strategy/simulation game involving trade, space dogfights, and random odd jobs--rinse and repeat until you've had enough. If you enjoy these elements, however, you might enjoy this game quite a bit.

Honest reviews on Dark Star One - Broken Alliance - Xbox 360

Pros: Fun space fighter game, very rare these days to find anything like it, The PC version was fun but, so I bought this version because....... (see other thoughts)

Love the ship customization options

Cons: You cannot customize the controls for the ship, you must use the left analog stick to control the x/y axis of the ship, this is incredibly frustrating and unnatural to me. Every other flight sim, space sim and shooter you use your right hand or thumb for flight/axis control by default. This is a game breaker for me, and now I'm out 30 bucks

Most star systems are very similar, not much to explore

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I loved the pc version, but it was seriously hampered by copy protection software that caused serious crashes. The fix for these crashes was a overly complex series of steps that wasnt worth my time. I thought the XBOX version would alleviate this issue, but it just gave rise to more of this companies inept handling of software. The company who made this game deserves credit for making a good space sim, but deserves to go out of business for their horrible copy protection, and stupid things like not being able to use the right stick for axis control. This is just laziness in development, and a big part of why you dont see any popular space sims anymore.

RELEASE A CONTROL PATCH AND THIS WOULD GET 5 STARS, unless your left handed I suppose

This game is pretty good so far if you are into 3D space shooters in the vein of Wing Commander and Freespace etc. With that being saiddo not expect Wing Commander or Freespace. The graphics are dated (actually a port of a four year old PC game), the voice acting is horrendous and laughable, and the cut scenes are few and far between. However the game does provide solid controls, easy navigation, and fun combat. This game was unavailable in Canada for some reason so I had to order it online (NOTEthe picture on amazon.com is wrong for the product as of writing this). I hope to see more of these kind of games in the future!

World of Tanks With $30.00 In Pack Value-Items Included! 1-Week Premium Account, Gold Currency and Tank
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Despite that description states one month of premium included, in reality this package only has 1 week of premium account.

Here are the contents of this package (as listed on the official WoT website):

Retail Box Contents

1 T2 Light Tank (750 gold value + 300 gold for the extra tank slot)

1 week Premium account (1,250 gold)

1,050,000 Credits (2,625 gold)

1,800 Gold

While nominally it is over $30 worth of gold purchases, in reality the deal is not so great because there are better rates for buying premium on a monthly basis, buying gold in larger chunks and credits are relatively easily earned by actually playing the game.

While this package gives a decent head start to a brand new WoT player, in terms of value it's barely worth it at $20 and would be much better deal when the price drops closer to $10-$15 in my opinion.

Having crewed US Army armored fighting vehicles including the Bradley and an M113 simulating a BMP-2, I have to say that this game nails the feel of armored warfare. Finding a good hull down position matters, real world tactics help, and power to weight ratio feels right as you try to struggle up a hill or accelerate away from a threat. The controls are easy to master, WASD for manuevering your tank, and the mouse controls turret traverse and elevation.

The game has tanks from the mid 1930 through the 1950s, you can drive tanks from the US, Germany or USSR. Light tanks, Medium and Heavies. Each country and class has a different feel. You start at Tier one and can progress through ever increasinly powerful tanks through Tier 10. Each battle earns you credits and experience. Each tank has modules(new cannon, new turret, etc) which you must unlock with experince, learn most of the modules on your tank and you can choose to spend experince learning the next tiers tank. The tank tech tree of each nation starts at a tier one scout tank and you can choose to branch out along the light, medium or heavy lines. You can choose to learn every tank in the game if you have time.

You will need credits to purchase the modules and tanks that you unlock with experince. At the lower tiers you may only need a few games per tank to progress to the next. At tier 8 it took me 150 matches to progress through and to the tier 9 tank. Each random battle can last up to 15 mins. then again I have successfully gotten myself killed a few times in under one minute. The battle rages on without you if you die, but you can exit the battle and grab another tank and que up for another battle.

Graphics are good, the learning curve is not steep, my wife(with only world of warcraft gaming experince) had it figured out in 10 games and mastered the game after about 150 battles. Discouragingly to my ego, after about her 200th game and to this day she has a higher win percentage than me!

The cons:

The match making system does not always put you into a battle where you can contribute a whole lot. As mentioned, there are 10 tiers. You could be thrown into a battle on your brand new US M4 Sherman(tier 5) againts a fully decked out German Tiger II(tier 8) with a 105mm cannon and a turret that will bounce all your shells. In this case LOAD HE, I say again LOAD HE, hunt the other teams lower tier tanks, spot for the big boys, play scout or just die quickly and jump in the next battle.

the devs have designed the game to encourage you to spend real world money. Real life money can be used to buy in game items that help you advance to higher tiers more quickly and less painfully. After experincing the pain of a few games at lower tiers on the receiving end of big tank boom boom you will likely be tempted to spend around $30 dollars to purchase a tier 8 premium tank. that premium tank can earn you experince that you can then spend reasearching non premium tanks and modules.

The biggest con/disagreement with the devs. Real world money can be spent on premium shells that can penetrate opposing tank armor more consistantly. i do not think pay to win is a fair mechanic. that said, if you know where to aim (tanks have weak spots/even shooting the front), you can defeat an identical tank even if he is using premium shells and you are not. You are just more at mercy to the random number generator. All shells do X amount of dmg +/a bit and penatrate Y amount +/-. Premiums have a higher base number.

If you have the `$30, do it, buy a Lowe, KV-5 or Type 59 tank.

Like the title says, this is a retail copy of an online-only game which is free to play. You do not need to purchase the retail copy, but I do recommend it, especially to newer player. The retail copy includes a code that gives in-game material/benefits once it has been applied to an account, this is where the value comes from.

The code in the retail copy provides:

One extra garage slot (300 gold))

T2 Light Tank (750 gold value)

One week of premium for the player's account (1,250 gold)

1,050,000 Credits (2,625 gold)

1,800 Gold

IMPORTANT NOTES about this retail version are:

If you already have the T2 light tank in your garage then you will receive the extra garage slot and you are refunded the value of the tank in gold (you should receive 2550 gold instead of 1800).

The week of premium begins the moment input the code that is provided (so be ready to play to take full advantage of the premium account).

BENEFITS of the material included in this package:

The garage slot allows you to store an additional tank (by default I believe you currently start with 5 slots).

The included tank is a "premium" tank that can only be purchased with gold. Premium tanks are not the best tanks on the battlefield but they make better "credits" (freely earned in-game currency).

The premium account increases your in-game income for both "credits" and "XP" by 50% over a standard account ("credits" are used to purchase goods in game while "XP" is used to unlock additional content).

Credits/Gold this is in game currency, credits can be earned freely by playing matches while gold can only be obtained with real world money (with some exceptions such as contests and whatnot).

If you are new to the game this is a good way to get started but instead of using the DVD included with the retail version to run the install go ahead and download it from the game website. The retail install is several versions behind the current version of the game and I have heard of people who encounter issues when they installed the retail version and updated, instead of a clean download and install.

I could spend much time discussing the fun and frustrations of the game itself here. However, as the game is free to play, rather than wasting time discussing the game here I would simply recommend downloading the game and getting started to experience it for yourself.

Others have questioned the value of this retail package. This provides benefits equal to a $30 purchase of gold in the game store for $20 (or less). The best value of purchasing gold from the in game store is 250 gold/dollar. At $20 this provides (essentially) a 336 gold/dollar value, the only downside is that the in game "gold" is already allocated in certain ways so you cannot decide how to spend it yourself (for you economists I believe this is called an opportunity cost).

All in all, this retail version provides a good product at a good value for the experienced tankers and the newbies alike. If you've got a loved one who is already playing the game or has an interest in armored warfare/World War II, this is a great gift. Also works well if you have a significant other than you want to spend less time with... kidding... kind of.

Honest reviews on World of Tanks With $30.00 In Pack Value-Items Included! 1-Week

I purchased this game pack for the premium code to receive the gold, tank and slot. The game disk was irrelavant as anyone can download World of Tanks online and play for free. The premium code which I purchased had already been used, therefore I paid cash for nothing. I have not heard back yet from either Amazon, nor the seller. In short, this was a rip-off. Beware.

Right now, I've got to give this purchase (a gift to me from my wife) one star out of five. Like a few other folks who have commented, my game's promo code had already been used. I've submitted a ticket through Wargaming asking whether they can resolve the issue, or whether I need to take it up with Amazon. I've got my fingers crossed that one party or the other will address this, but who knows as of this moment. Even if one or the other company helps me out, what a hassle. If you buy a new game through a reputable seller like Amazon, you should have every expectation that you won't run into something like this. :O\

Here is a small video review of the headset and here are the numbers for my custom EQ settings from left to right (3) (10) (3) (-5) (-3) (-5) (3) (-5) (3) (10)

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I bought these at Gamestop($129.99) and have been using them heavily for about a month, particularly for Starcraft2 and listening to music. The fit and finish on the headset is very high quality. The plastic and metal bits seem very durable and should hold up to normal use. The headset is also very comfortable to wear, although it does not seal securely around the ear, which allows in a lot of ambient sound. The colors of the lights can be easily changed, or mix and matched to your particular preference. There is a lot to like about the design, however in function this headset is absolute garbage. The first week was ok, but it all quickly went south. The mic, when it works, will just randomly stop working at the most inconvenient times (often while in SC2). Occasionally when launching games, the sound will stop working altogether, and requires you to re-seat the usb connector to reestablish the connection to the computer. This process baselines all of your previously saved software settings, and requires you to reset everything. When it is working, the sound is great, however I always know whats coming. I own or have owned 4 Razer mice, 1 keyboard, and 1 other headset. This product is not up to Razer standards, and it appears they got the SC2 naming license and just phoned it in for some easy cash. Disappointing at best. I have decided to pitch this into the Land of Unused Electronics and go with another brand, preferably one that's manufactured in the United States. As a footnote, I have a technical background and have worked in I.T. for over fifteen years. I have put numerous hours into trying multiple configurations to get this headset to work with no luck.

I got this headset on a lightning deal for $59.99. I was hesitant because while I like Starcraft, I'm not a fanboy. I was pleased to find that I could completely turn off the Starcraft II logo lights when customizing the light scheme. The lack of a padded microphone allows for some background noise to come through, but it's still decent quality.

Keep in mind that the body of the headset is a metallic gray; not nearly as dark as the images suggest. That's just a vain little gripe, though.

They are comfortable and effective. However, unless you have an intense love of Starcraft, I would recommend one of the other Razer headsets instead of paying full price for this product.

This is really a good headphone. Very perfect for starcraft 2! Forget everybad thing those user said, if you update the newest driver, those won't appear at all. Be sure to install the razer startcraft II driver v1.02.exr

The headset itself is very solid. The size may be a little off-putting to those not used to larger headsets, but it is very comfortable to wear and exceptionally easy to get used to.

It looks great, the lights are bright and the sound quality is on-par for the price of the headset.

The microphone, however, is designed poorly.

It will stop working quickly. Everyone I've ever known to own one of these has either had to get a new headset or a new microphone to use externally. It's a very unfortunate and fatal flaw of an otherwise good headset.

To sum it up, the audio and comfort are great, but the microphone is almost guaranteed to fail you after a very short time.

First off, all the people that have tried to ban this game, and others like it, without even seeing it, or playing it, this is just an example of how ignorant you are. You base your actions upon what you hear and read about a product, without ever bothering to try the actual prodcut. Shame on you. And, all you're doing, in the end, is generating more sales for bad games, if they are bad. The best way to stop bad products is no one buy them!

Now, with the rant out of the way, on to the game review--it's not that great. Many of us "GTA Type Game" fans waited more than two years for this, being led to believe it would be similar, that is, "open ended" with a variety of things to do and freedom to explore a virtual world. Would you escape the ghetto and get revenge on your family's killers are "Freeze," or clean up the city and save lives as a cop?

The actual game is nothing more than a linear first person shooter where you have to kill several enemies per level before they kill you. The AI is horrible. You have no choices. You can't drive anywhere. You have to hit enemies like 5 headshots to kill them; usually before you can do that youre dead (because even from a mile away they can hit you with accuracy). it sucks. Don't waste your money.

The best game in my opionion so far is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. For those of you who whine about how "Bad and violent" it is, that part is up to the player. If you want, you can stay in Los Santos for months, not kill a single person, and make millions of dollars betting at the OTB and driving the taxi, buying all the safehouses, working out at the gym, etc. And not kill one person, if you don't want to. So, I say again, try products for yourself before you try to ban them. it's part of being a grown up. But you'll never undertand. Peace

Seeing all the bad reviews I have to ask myself did anyone actually play through this game. I decided to get this game because I was one of the original beta testers for the online portion of this game. I really had a blast with this game online, it was a lot of fun. However online wasn't as great as playing the Socom games online but it was up there. I did wait till this game went greatest hits before buying it though, only because I wasn't sure about the offline part of the game. Surprisingly the offline was pretty good too. I played this game through in my free time within two weeks, and I got pretty hooked on it too. The graphics are pretty good in my opinion. It's funny when I think of this game I don't remember the graphics being that great. But then I think what was that game that I really liked where I was sneaking around a shopping mall and hiding behind clothes racks dodging people that were shooting at me, that game was awesome. Then I realize it was this game 25 to Life. There was a sense of realism to this game when blasting away at everything. From blasting peoples heads off to shooting walls, or shooting out windows. Each weapon had a different effect too. The audio sounded pretty good, from breaking windows, shooting and reloading your guns, and moltov cocktails exploding. The voices were ok, mostly gangsta from the hood. The only thing bad about it was there was a lot of cursing. But the cursing was something that really went well with the gangsta enviroment of the game. The same with the music tracks on the game they went well with the gansta enviroment as well. That being said, some of the songs in this game had a lot more cursing in them then just what the computer opponents yelled out. One song had the f-word multiple times, which really made me wish I could have been able to turn it off. It would have been nice if you could have picked the songs you would like to hear because not all the songs had cursing in them. Most the time from the computer opponents you would hear just the s-word. This game also has a lot of extra side quests you can do while blasting away at the computer opponents. Upon completeing them you can unlock extra characters, and weapons to use in the online mode, much like Socom. This game is good for a once through offline. Online it was pretty fun till people started using cheats and ruined the game. Don't know if the servers are even up anymore. It has a good replay value especially if you didn't finish all the side quests first time around. The cool part is when you finish an area you can go back and play it all over again so you can finish the side quest objectives you might have missed the first time around. And when you have done all that you can try and play through the harder modes for more of a challenge. Although normal mode seemed pretty intense on its own. And after you beat the game you unlock this parking garage challenge area that was very hard to beat. But after finishing all of these things in the game, I did feel a sense of accomplishment, and I was glad it was all over with do to its intensity. That being said I really think this game is worth a play through, and maybe I will play through it again some time.

I used to wonder how people could be so far off base when it comes to developing these games especially considering that this game was developed in Utah. Now you and I both know that when it comes to urban culture and all things street you need look no further than the UT for your definitive source, but that still doesn't explain the lacklustre graphics and clunky mechanics and poor coordination since we all know that Utah is home to the best artists and athletes around I mean just look at the Jazz. Yes, I am Utah bashing, yes I am from Utah, that is why I find it hilariously sad that these developers chose to make a game about urban gang-warfare and street culture. Stick to what you know, make a game about scrapbooking and holding hands it couldn't possiblly suck as bad as this.

Honest reviews on 25 to Life - PlayStation 2

This game, overall isn't half bad. It has some what of a story line and quite a few levels. However I am too used to the free roam of some other shooting games, where as in this game you have a set path with barriers (usually buildings) on both sides of you that keep you going in one direction. Also there isnt much of stealth in this game, its basically run and shoot. The guns all seem to work some what the same as eachother and aren't very impressive in my opinion. The game was just a little too repetative for my taste. If you are a big fan of shooting games like me, you probably aren't going to be impressed by this game...at all.

Truthfully I can't believe that I paid for this game, when i saw it in the store i thought it would be pretty sweet, ya know reading that back of the case and looking at the pictures, but obviously whats on the case doesn't well describe what actually happens. There's really no point to the game, every level is pretty much the same just with different people and slightly different weapons. The incentive for finishing the game is some retarded survival level. The only thing that i found interesting about the game is that you can take hostages and peoples heads literally get blown off when shot the right way. I would recommend anyone looking to buy this game wait until it is a Greatest Hits (I doubt) or buy it used.

The product I recieved I ordered it on a friday and it was delivered to my house by monday instead of the extra week it said it was going to take. It was a little big had to apply some force to put it in the memory slot but it worked perfectly just remember to format it immediately before use and you shouldn't have any problems. I ordered a gerneric one from amazon the week before and it didn't work at all. I ordered this one before its the same one you might see at selected best buy stores. My friend also bought this one months ago and he has no problems either that is why i bought this one. aDON'T BUY ANYOTHER HARD DRIVE EXCEPT THIS ONE OR THE OEM FROM MICROSOFT.

I bought this kit for an Xbox 360 that had already been refurbished by a (MS approved) 3rd party once. The kit came with everything I needed and even the small vial of Goo-Gone was a nice touch.

Tearing open my 360 was honestly more enjoyable then playing the thing. It took a little bit of work but the website tutorial laid it out pretty plainly. Anyone could do it really.

The first time I put it back together, the system booted up like it had never heard of a red ring. It held together for about a week before ultimately red lighting again.

No matter how many fixes, burn-ins, or tricks I tried to pull; there was no bringing it back to life again.

I was excited to learn there would be a crazi taxi style game coming out using big rigs, but after I bought it I learned that it only had 4 levels and a really boring parking game. My friend and I beat the game in about 20 min. Another thing is that you can't just drive around like in crazi taxi ; you have about thirty seconds to get to each checkpoint.

The only cool thing about the game is that you can smash through anything in your way.

I recommend borrowing the game from a friend-don't waste ... on buying a game you will use for a half hour.

18 Wheeler was a good game in the arcade, and now you don't have to blow a dollar a pop to play it. The Dreamcast version is everything the arcade version is, crisp clean graphics, smooth controls, and great gameplay make this one of the last good Dreamcast games, think of it as Crazy Taxi with a big truck. Only problem is, and its a major problem at that, is this game is real short, and there are no extras, something Sega should have incorporated for their home conversion. Other than that, this is a good DC pickup.

Best Deals for 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker

Kudos to Sega for another off-beat title. Who could have thought that one could make an entertaining game out of truck driving? Make no mistake this is a fun game. Points are also awarded for smooth, if not benchmark, animation and intuitive controls.

But shame goes to Sega for doing so little in porting the title over to a home console. With any arcade-to-console port, extras must be added or the gameplay must be modified to create replay value. Otherwise, there would be no excuse to buy the console version rather than spend the equivalent in quarters at the local arcade. Sadly, the core of the game, "arcade mode", is ported over with no change. And unlike the popular "Crazy Taxi", "18 Wheeler" does not go on and on if you are good enough. Instead, you go through a few stages and once you complete those stages ... nothing. Most people will learn to complete these stages inside of three hours. Sure, there is a "parking" challenge that is analagous to the mini-games in "Crazy Taxi", but again, once you finish them ... nothing.

Save your money and head down to your local arcade with some friends. For the equivalent number of quarters, the humorously large cabinet, life-sized trucker steering wheel, big bench seat, and loud horn will be more fun than you can ever have with this title at home.

Honest reviews on 18 Wheeler American Pro Trucker

18 Wheeler is a very fun game. It puts you in the mine as a real pro driver. You get to drive all over states. But the only problem with this game its too short. You'll get to earned money. You can get caught up with storms, crash into other trucks and cars. Most of all I think they made this game so that people will have a wonderful time. Play it with 2 players and really have a time with your life. Well enjoy your trip to Cally in a Cadillac.

I waited and waited AND waited some more for this game to arrive. After logging 220 plus hours with Oblivion, games after that just didn't hold much appeal for me. So, I had some very high hopes (as did many of us) for Two Worlds.

For all the release delays this game offered us, it's engine was a buggy mess. The graphics were very poor, mostly they seemed to have a very jagged appearance reminiscent of older, low polygon count games. Many of the light effects were VERY obnoxious. Flames looked very unrealistic, light gradients were very mis-colored. Example; you would be walking through a otherwise dark cave, when suddenly the passage is a light blue color. No blue flames indicating the presence of supernatural activity, nothing. Just blue.

Shadows were very jagged looking as well. At times the shadows of a tree would make me wonder if I was interacting with some "Thing" instead of a shadow. Water was like a wobbly mirror.

One of the most annoying and near laughable features in the game was the "Inability" to control a horse. I soon discovered that wasting earned skill points points on my horse riding skills was...well a waist. If you had to stray from the beaten path, what so ever, your mighty stead was bound to get completely immobilized by a shrub or tree. Slight embankments and hill sides were also a major "No-No" for our stead. I can't imagine what the team involved in the actual design of the horse in Two Worlds, was thinking.

I'm thinking malt liquor and bong-hits were the sole inspiration for this one. Next was the (Now Legendary) horrific voice acting. The voice actors themselves sounded as if they had to perform nude in front of a stadium of giggling onlookers. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE SOUNDING. Not only did the characters sound scared, but there was simply not enough variety in the actual voices. You could speak to a close group of three people who all shared the exact same voice and greeting.

The A. I. was very funny. Very bad, but at least it made you laugh. For instance, I could interact with a character who absolutely hated my character and made it known by cursing and threating me. However, as soon as the interaction was over they would say in a totally different voice; Grand Day! Or Greetings Tall One! Or A Fine Day Indeed!

The menu looked a lot like the old Diablo menue system, right down to the barely readable fonts. It wasn't until my wife and I bought a HD t.v. that I could even read what some the menu items or instructions said.

The travel log was the worst I have EVER seen. It's crammed way over to the right side of the menu screen and written in tiny, black letters with some words being separated by an entire line width. It was absolute torture to try and follow.

The title music was also the cheesiest music I have heard in a long, long time. Anyone here remember that old song called "A total eclipse of the heart" by Bonnie Tyler? It sounded like that but with some generic, wannabe operatic woman singing. The in-game music was very unbalanced as well. It was either very quiet or VERY LOUD, so adjusting it in the controls menu was pointless. Not to mention, most of the time the music itself (When you could hear it) didn't fit the situation.

Now there were (Believe it or not) some redeeming qualities to the game. combining similar weapons to make a more powerful version was great. I had some massive sword called the Dragons Jawbone, that had a slashing power of over 3000. Basically I had a one hit wonder. One hit and most everything went flying across the screen and laid on the ground twitching . That was pretty satisfying.

Creating you own spells and so forth could have been cooler if you had some sort of guide to help you. Since you didn't, it was more or less a way to make room in your inventory or power up magical attributes for a weapon. Mostly it was just cumbersome. I beat the game without ever really using any magic.

I threw a few fire balls but why bother when you can smash the tar out of anything with a giant jaw bone? lol The Bow was great to. Once you got your skill level with the bow up to ten and it's damage abilities really high, you could wipe out an entire Orc Camp with it, no problem.

Sadly though, the game just ends up being a decent way to relax before bed, cracking Orc skulls and flinging Bandits into the weeds is alway's a joy.

For $60.00 to $70.00 though, it's just not worth it. Rent it, borrow it or wait until it's in the clearance bin. Whatever you do though, don't waste your money on a brand new copy and especially the Collectors Edition.

...then Two Worlds is the game for you! I see and hear many people trying to compare Two Worlds to Oblivion and frankly, I just don't think that's a fair comparison to make. When it comes to western RPGs (by western, I mean those that don't have a real Japanese flavor to them, like Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon and Infinite Undiscovery), I like to view things as being on one of two extremes: tactical RPG (like Oblivion and Morrowind) and experiential RPG (like Diablo and RuneScape). Reality Pump took Two Worlds in a different direction; they attempted to blend the two styles, and for the most part, I'd say it works. You still have the 3rd-person (and occasionally 1st-person) view of the character. You're directly in control of swinging your sword and casting spells. Unlike Oblivion, though, you have more of a Diablo-like inventory system and can stack items to improve them (which, albeit less realistic, makes collecting items a lot more fun).

Graphically, Two Worlds is up to par for what you should expect from the 360 at this point. It's not earth-shaking (even though it does look beautiful in HD), but you can still tell you're playing a 360 game. I'd say it at least matches the graphics of Oblivion, for the most part.

The audible aspect is a bit of a touchy issue for some people. Yes, the dialogue can be laughably bad at some points, but I personally view it as a welcome comic relief. It's humor seems unintentionally tongue-in-cheek. (Think of it like Mystery Science Theater 3000 or The Bard's Tale for original XBox.) Allow me to illustrate:

True Story: I'm playing Two Worlds and my character is running through the woods when he comes upon a guy standing outside a cottage. I run up to him and enter into a dialogue that goes something like this.

Man: "I have the finest horses in all of (such-and-such a place). Would you like to buy one?"

I didn't, at the time, so I exited dialogue... but accidentally pressed the button to draw my weapon (which is X, by the way. I'll never forget that now.) My character says something to the effect of "IT IS TIME TO DO BATTLE!" ...and that it was.

I tell you that to make one point the dialogue is unintentionally funny, and if you can accept that, you'll enjoy the game and segway to my next point. Your enemies are TOUGH in the begining of the game. In this instance, because it is similar to Oblivion, I will draw a comparison. Two Worlds doesn't level enemies up with you, like Oblivion does, meaning that when you're level 1 in Two Worlds, a villager will WHOOP YOU. (I got mine handed to me by the horse guy.) On the same token, once you've level up sufficiently, you can return and exact your revenge like the barbarian you are! I deffinately found this to be an improvement over Oblivion's system of leveling up enemies as you leveled up. (It felt like you were never getting anything accomplished.)

I will admit, I haven't tried the online mode yet. I'm waiting for a friend to make some money and buy the game as well. I hear it's a little buggy online, but hopefully it's only minor issues that can be worked out with updates via XBL.

Overall, my experience with the game has been positive. I think Diablo fans who would like a little more control over their character, or Oblivion fans who really wanted to just hack and slash, will really enjoy this game. It's not brimming with excitement for the first half hour or so, but if you give it a little time, it really becomes quite fun. :)

I hope my review has helped. Sorry for the less-than-formal style.

Best Deals for Two Worlds Collector's Edition -Xbox 360

This is truely one of the best RPGs I have played in a while. This game should go up on the wall with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and the Dungeon Siege Series. The game puts you as a mercenary looking for his sister whom he hasn't seen in 3 years whilst the world's major factions are in an uproar looking for the fallen god of war. Like Oblivion or Mass Effect you can go off of the main quest and do whatever you want to do, if living up to the mercenary part of you is your thing you can go slaughter Orc Tribes, blast Bandits into zapor with your magic arsenal or travel the vast terrain the game can offer. The game is pretty balance, you have four major attributes governing what your skills do and a variety of skills like magic, thievery, melee combat or ranged combat. Your only restriction is level which is not really a problem until you get to the higher levels.

This game is not without errors though, if you have a 20" or smaller TV or wear glasses/contacts you will have trouble reading the text, it is probably in what would be Times New Roman size 10 (or maybe Arial) and the names have different colors which can get a little annoying. One thing that will show are the leaves, they are very blocky and look like 2D blobs of feces instead of a leaf. The blood is cartoon-like it is 3D and all but it is rendered really strange but is quite funny. There is not a great amount of voice actors but the punch-lines and phases your character mutters such as "prepare to meet death" or "drip, drip, drip...its raining" or a grunt when he jumps in water. This game runs smoothly and there is no problem with it, for that real cinametic feel you can hookup your Xbox 360 Elite to a 1080i HDTV with Verizon FiOs which is not really necessary but makes a great picture!

The combat is actually quite intricate, your enemy seems to learn as you attack. If you like jumping back a lot (hitting the B button) they will press attacks, they will chase you if you retreat and will try to unhorse you if you charge at them on a war steed. You will find you self mashing the health potion button at bigger fights and running. The medium and hard difficulties should be remaned Psychotic and Apocalyptic, it is that hard especially when you get up to higher levels. If you like button mashing something to pieces this is not your game

The levels are not hard to get unless you want to press the 100s (yes its possible) if you can get a couple million XP you can get their. You get skill points for combat achievements like killing intervals of enemies (10, 25, 100...) or picking pockets, opening locks, riding horses or casting spells.

All-in-all this is a great game, from the leveling/skill system to the great terrain that ranges from dark dungeons, to sprawling plains, dry deserts and icy mountains and in addition with the funny lines NPCs and your character make this game is very enjoyable

Honest reviews on Two Worlds Collector's Edition -Xbox 360

First off I'm going to say that I found this game to be strangely entertaining.

For the bad, this game has horrible graphics, poor frame rate, laughable voice acting...no, im serious, there were times I was rolling on the floor...very poor story. the ending was horrible nomatter if you were evil or good. control was a pain. horse was the worst by far. and the game froze at least once every time i played it. the only game ive ever played on my 360 that froze. one of the selling points that they use for this game is the changing environments without loading, i.e. walking into buildings. what they dont tell you is that the game loads at extremely inopportune times. i.e. in the middle of battles or there was this one small house that the game loaded 3 different times because i walked into different sections of the house.

This game could have been one of the best rpg games to date if the creators had actually spent a little time with the engine and story.

now, for what i found entertaining. i liked how you could upgrade your weapons and armor by adding 2 of the same type together. you can get some fairly ultimate equipment by doing this. making potions was also fun. especially when you could make them that do permanant effects to your stats. My character had over 800 strengh by doing this. Its not even a cheat. basically this games whole point seemed to be upgrading your character. i never played the game for the story or anything else. it kept me addicted and entertained by finding weapons and armor (and there are very many) and combining them to make better than i think the creators even intended.

as for the online. its nothing. i went online several different times, and never found anyone.

if you like treasure hunt games this one is fairly good, but thats all.

Peter Jackson's King Kong - Xbox 360 Review

Peter Jackson's King Kong - Xbox 360
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

This game is clearly associated with the 2005 movie. How can we tell? The full name of the game is Peter Jackson's King Kong The Official Game of the Movie. Subtle!

The game was made with complete cooperation of Peter Jackson he let the gaming team have access to the CGI and sets from the movie, and the game was made at the exact same time.

The game plays very much like being in a movie, with smooth slides between cinematic scenes and action sections. That being said, the game of course is FAR more action-oriented than any movie would be. In a movie you might fight off a group of creatures for a short period of time. In the game, of course, the hordes come in numerous, almost endless, waves.

This is more than just a beast-slaying game, though. There's a bit of thought involved. For example, if a gigantic dinosaur comes running at you, you don't have to try to slay it in straight-out combat. You can instead kill another random creature that is nearby, and the dinosaur will decide to go munch on it.

There are a few levels that you can play as Kong, but really for most of the game you are playing as a normal human in a band of friends. The various friends around you can either be helpful or REALLY annoying, depending on their mood. There are many times that I was tempted to snipe at my "friends" instead of the Giant Centipede or whatever the monster of the moment was.

The graphics are of course awesome. From the ocean waves to the murky dark caves, from the detail on the faces to the detail on the monsters' teeth, you get immersed in a high quality version of the movie. Again, this is to be expected, as the game designers got direct feeds of the movie graphic files.

The sound is also well done, with the sounds and feel of the movie. You get an immersive experience, drawing around you what the movie is all about. Danger, gloom, crashing waves and thunderous primal screams.

I have to admit that I found some of the puzzles a little tedious. Walking around and around a post to open a door was silly enough the first time, but for me to have to do it repeatedly was a bit much. Also, there were a few times that monsters seemed to get "stuck" in an area and I had to in essence go and prod them a few times for them to come out and properly attack me. I suppose not all monsters are highly intelligent :)

The game is definitely one that targets adrenaline-rush types. The sounds are loud and pounding from bellows to cries of panic to screeches. The video is always jumping between dark caves to dark stairs to fiery bushes and things swooping down at you. You're kept off balance and rarely get a moment to breathe.

I did like how the game is set up like a movie. There aren't on screen health bars, ammo counters or anything else. You hit a button to hear a verbal check of your ammo. You talk to your friends to find out how they are. When you get hurt, your screen starts to go red and fuzzy, and you even hear "angels sing".

If I'm going to have any complaint about this game, it's really a personal one I like games with a balance between hyped-up tension and more calm puzzle/investigating. There was really no break here, it was just non-stop thundering noise and attacking monsters. I'm sure most people thrive on that :)

Well recommended for those seeking a high action fix!

As has been discussed since the game King Kong was announced, Peter Jackson approached Michel Ancel to create this game due to his work on one of my favorite games, Beyond Good and Evil. When I heard the Michel Ancel was working on a high profile game, I jumped at the chance to play it. This was one of the first Xbox 360 games I purchased and the second I beat.

One thing Michel Ancel is extraodinarily good at doing is creating a living world, populated with rich characters and terrific scenery. He proved this in Beyond Good and Evil, giving various different gameplay functions to mess around with, as well as terrific characters that could bring a smile to your face. King Kong continues this and gives us a fully realized Skull Island as our playground. Ancel took away any hint of an interface. There's no life, ammo, or aiming device. Its all natural and you have to rely on vocal cues about the ammo, realize that one or two bites from a T-rex is going to kill you and estimate on how you throw your spears.

At first I was worried about the lack of aiming target, but the game compensates for this by being pretty open. Hitting a target really isn't too difficult as long as you are aiming in the general area. Playing in first person really helps get you in the shoes of the protagonist, and hearing the terrifying roar of a T-rex (or V-Rex as they are called in this game, to which I say, WTF?) behind you and knowing that he's there but knowing also that if you stop to look you will be dead really helps sink in this feeling. Its a survival of the fittest and you had better keep your wits about you.

Graphically, the game is beautiful. The textures in the land really help present an island teeming with life. The enemies are done pretty well over-all. One of the problems with the current form of normal mapping is that sometimes things can look shiny or slimy. This is duly noticeable in the hair of people. Naomi Watt's character's hair looks shiny and slimy instead of natural. The art direction is stunning too which helps cover-up any graphical short-comings there maybe.

The audio is stunning as well. The voice actors from the movie reprise their roles and unlike some movie video games, it doesn't sound like the actors are just talking into a mic to get paid. The screams, the bit of dialogue there is, it all fits into a nice package surrounded by terrific dinosaur sounds, ambient music and a terrific score. The only part of the audio that became annoying to me was when you are seriously injured. Hearing the angels choir became annoying after awhile.

Playing as Kong is a delight, mostly. Instead of making it difficult, the game-developers wanted to give players a sense of strength and reckless abandon that you don't have playing as a human. And they succeed. Kong is vicious, you don't have to worry about timing anything or about hiding. Charge in there, destroy things, climb on walls, jump from ledge to ledge, break T-Rex's mouths open. Its all there, easy to pull off, and makes playing as Kong a joy instead of a chore.

Once you get off Skull Island is where the game lost a little. It felt as if New York wasn't as developed as it could be and it was over in about 10 minutes. Pretty much a let down but I'm sure that it was done this way to keep any surprises from the movie leaking out.

Now, as great as this game is, there is a major problem. Its damn short. It took me about 5-6 hours to play it. Since its an incredibly linear video game with no room for exploration, you pretty much have no choice but play it quickly. It is a visually stimulating and exciting journey, but a very quick one. In fact, I don't know if I can justify the $60 price tag. Its a game that begs to be played and you can get it down in one weekend without realizing it.

Michel Ancel succeeds in creating another exciting game. If it weren't in such a hurry to get out before the movie, maybe it could have been a bit more flushed out. As it is, the game is a terrific way to spend 6 hours of your life. But, as to the $60 out of your pocket, that's debatable.

I will be honest, I was not a huge fan of the movie and wasn't initially interested in this game. I purchased it recently because I had read that it was an easy way to get 1000 achievement points (just play it all the way through), and because it had considerably dropped in price to less than $20.

So, with low expectations, I have to say that I was initially pleasantly surprised. After some clips from the opening of the movie, the game starts off with you playing through the scene of them landing on Skull Island. The voice acting is great, as I keep hearing Jack Black making all his silly comments about capturing footage of everything as we move through the island. The graphics are good, as the character models look very much like their real-life counterparts and the island is rendered in pretty full detail. However, I would not put these graphics anywhere near Gears or some of the newer 360 games, but they are decent enough to hold your interest in the game. The game mechanics are pretty easy to pick up, you either have a gun or you can pick up a spear. Soon you learn to catch the spear on fire and use it to burn patches of thicket in order to clear the way or fend off creatures. There are also some other puzzle-like aspects, such as stabbing bait and throwing it to distract creatures, or needing to find the handles for opening doors.

From there, though, I found the game getting rather repetitive and old quickly. You run through a series of areas fighting and evading various creatures and finding a way out, only to get to more areas where you have to fight and evade creatures.

Finally, after what seemed like an exhaustive amount of play, I got to a stage where I was able to play as Kong. I felt the Kong sequence seemed like it had been tacked on as a gimmick rather than an integral part of the game. First of all, it switches to third-person while you're Kong, so the gameplay is totally different. Secondly, it just took me through a series of climbing, jumping, and swinging sequences, which were all accomplished by pressing 1 button to do everything, so it felt more like a glorified cutscene than actual gameplay. Lastly, I had to fight a flying boss, but due to the third person camera angle I could never face the right direction or time it right to punch him each time he swooped in at me. After multiple attempts I finally beat the boss, but ended up feeling more frustrated than thrilled by it.

The next level has me playing as Jack again, and I frankly haven't summoned up the motivation to play any further yet. I understand there are more Kong scenes coming up where you fight dinosaurs, so that might be fun, but the idea of having to play through another couple of hours as Jack doesn't seem worth it to me.

I recently acquired a few other new games for my 360, and I just find it hard to want to go back to this one to finish it. Perhaps there will be some time when I'll decide to finish this game, but for now I have shelved it and don't have a strong desire to keep playing.

All in all, I would say this game is decent for the price and can provide a couple of hours of entertainment, but don't expect to get hooked on it because you will likely lose interest fairly quickly.

Honest reviews on Peter Jackson's King Kong - Xbox 360

King Kong game wasn't really a great game or a terrible one, hence the 3 star rating. The most impressive aspect of this game was how gorgeous gaming enviroment was. The rocks and grass were almost touchable through the tv screen! The only draw back about the graphics were how the actual humans were rendered. They were not was "realistic" as the enviroment that the game was.

Comparing human graphics between two games, the humans in Condemned: Criminal Origins were more realistic, smoother, and less choppy. The game play wasn't too bad, and the game wasn't that hard to complete. Sometimes, things would get a bit repetitive but that's how the game goes. Playing the game in 5.1 surround sound is a plus, you can hear the rain from all directions and when a character talks to you'll hear their voice coming out from a particular speaker from their direction.

Overall, the game is not worth the high price of $59.99. However, if you're bored it is a game to take a shot at renting for a couple days or so. Long lives the king....

Most of you who are looking to play this game are looking for the super easy 1000 Xbox live gamer points.. That's what brought me to this game too, however I was not expecting a mildly entertaining game. I was pleased to find this game was okay to play... Decent graphics, amazing sound, great voice acting. It's a nice little time filler. Give it a try!
