"Home" is everything what home usually is not, this is a side scrolling adventure, short in duration but for sure innovative and intriguing one. In this horror game you are trying to explore an uneasy world but what separates it from the rest is how many times you finish it, trying to fill the missing parts you'll not be able to see complete story, because you are actually telling the story. Due to that reason experience of each player would be different even the actions were the same.

The game starts with your hero awaken by a gathering storm, finding himself in a strange room he cannot recognize. With your help he would try to find his way back home through the sequence of discoveries and mysteries uncovered. You will be challenged with a choice of action whenever you reach decision points and depending on your answer choice will be made, action would be taken. Each item taken, part of information will be gathered, story would be coming more close together and more often you'll ask yourself are the answers more complex than what you see. It's exactly that what you will learn will shape world around you, there are not correct answer to questions asked, at least I wasn't able to find them.

Before starting the game, it is suggested to play it in the dark and to dedicate an hour or two to complete it without a break. I can also suggest you to play it with the headphones, atmosphere will be even more appropriate. Fear is more effective when you are in the dark trying to hear each and every sound.

The biggest drawback is that player wants to try going multiple times through the game in search for some clues or different game end. With each play the atmosphere is gradually disappearing although it's fascinating to see how your possibilities are changing depending on different choices you make.

Home is a great game, especially when played for the first time. It is saying a lot about human perception and reaction to the fear.

Highly recommended for playing. In the dark...

So it's not a perfect game, and the story gets a bit flimsy towards the end, but for $1, this game packs a ton of good scares, and genuinely creepy atmosphere. I got about three hours of gameplay out of 4 playthroughs, so I'd say it's worth every penny.

A neat experimental game but not as creepy or as much fun as I was hoping. I think this could have done a little more to meet it's full potential.

Honest reviews on Home - A Unique Horror Adventure

I think I understand what they were trying to accomplish with the delivery of this game. Kind of like a choose your own adventure. My initial experience at the end of the game was a little confusing. I knew I was effecting the overall outcome but I wasn't sure how. And outside of one major plot point, i didn't see how the other turning points made any significant changes. The end game narrative rundown seemed disjointed, I think because of this.

The gameplay keeps you interested throughout the experience. And, like many, I was interested in the retro style of this game, which is pulled off perfectly. Not particularly difficult, the game allows you to enjoy the ride, which I did.

Only gave it four stars because of the confusion at the end.

I hooked it up to a leg and then it says to hook another wire to the ground. But dosent show how to. Im new to this so i need DUMB PEOPLE instructions. How do i hook up the ground wire? Where is it going to connect to besides the tactile switch leg. Can you provide a photo?

The cable it self Feels very well made the Main cable coming from the Xbox connection port is very thick and shielded very well, then it splits off to the VGA/Audio side. The audio side of the cable still remains thick while the VGA cable Thins up.

The RCA Jacks are huge suckers, And they're heavy (compared to other RCA Connection jacks) with a Copper plated ring and Pin for connecting to your device.

I use Optical Audio, and have no means of Connecting this Audio RCA jacks to determine their quality.

The optical Output seats nicely, However i had to change my Audio Output on my 360 to Optical Stereo (Not 5.1 or Surround) otherwise i just got an Unbearable whine. However that could just be the Input for the Optical on my computer not Supporting Dolby Surround or 5.1.

The video quality is about as good as you would expect for VGA, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Did not notice Any ghosting while Playing Halo: Reach, COD: MW3, and various other titles.

I used a KVM Switch and a XIM edge for my Setup, and needed this cable to Tie into my Dual Screen setup and Allows for Quick and easy swapping between my Xbox output (with the VGA Cable) and my Computer (uses DVI)

Also, just to throw it in what i'm viewing this cable through is a Dell 23" LED flatscreen.

All in All, if you're looking to have your Xbox ran through a Computer monitor (Or a TV with an Optional VGA input) this cable would work. However the Bigger the Screen the more chances you will run into of Ghosting. Regardless if you have a High Quality cable or some cheap made knock-off.. It's the nature of VGA to do that, and not really the Cables fault.

This is a great alternative to the expensive Microsoft product. It even comes with the audio converter so you don't have to purchase it separately . The quality is also great, i havent experienced any "ghosting" even at a higher quality

Being a scifi fan, when I first saw this game for cheap,I thought I'd give it a try. My expectations were low. At first I didn't think too highly of my purchase until I figured out all the controls. Such as(you must use reverse thrust to keep the enemies in front of you). The more I played the game the more I liked it. The Metacritic score is 65 out of 100. Though the reviews are positive, they all mention that this is a 4 year old PC port. I believe, if this game would not have come out earlier on PC and was new, it would have scored higher, perhaps around low 80's. Myself, I would give it a 90. The game looks great, contols great, and has different difficulty settings. If things get too tough all you have to do is spend some time upgrading your ship before progressing. The story is on par with any other video game narrative,(That is to say it's average). It has addictive gameplay and is a very long game.

Before I get into my review I'd like to preface with some quick side notes that don't affect my rating:

1. The Amazon product images as of this writing are unrelated to this item (other than the same publisher: Kalypso). I was nervous about ordering this item because of this, but I did receive the actual DarkStar One game.

2. I've been a serious gamer for over 20 years.

3. I have never played the original PC version (DarkStar One (DVD-Rom)) of this game.

DarkStar One (DSO from here on) is a surprisingly fun space shooter that manages to defy traditional game classification. Is it action? Is it an rpg? Is it an adventure? Is it a space shooter? All of these descriptions fit in some way, and all are used to describe the game in its own marketing, but DSO doesn't seem to favor any one of them. This makes for an interesting and unique gaming experience that doesn't come along very often. The game seems to subtly adjust around around your playing style based on the missions you decide to take on.

If you want some action then get out there and hunt down some space pirates. It seems like the more you hunt down pirates, the more the game throws them at you.

If you want some "rpg" then scour the 300+ solar systems for artifacts to "level" your ship up. The rpg elements in DSO are geared specifically towards upgrading your ship as opposed to your character in traditional rpg style.

If you want some adventure then follow the main/side story lines to solve a mystery surrounding your father's death.

There are even elements of economic management as you can buy/sell trade goods from "Trade Stations" located in every solar system.

Above all, however, DSO's greatest achievement is its potential to function as a great casual game or a game to dive into head first and get lost in for hours. Whether you want to kill a little time with some mindless action or bunk off from school/work to spend the day with DSO...either way, it can deliver. This is fairly rare in video games, IMHO.

But all is not perfect in the world of DSO. Despite the marketing boasts of 1080P for the xbox 360 version, the cut scenes seem like they didn't get a makeover for this port. Personally this doesn't really bother me, and I didn't rate accordingly. Just fair warning that the cut scenes are a bit dated. Other than that the graphics are great with excellent frame rates. Also, space battles can be a bit repetitious but they're still tons of fun. Finally, my number one complaint, and the reason I couldn't give DSO 5 stars: the controls.

Slightly unintuitive but relatively easy to master. The controls are good enough but leave room for improvement. You set your "Basic Propulsion" (your cruising speed, essentially) by holding the left trigger and moving the right stick up (100%) or down (0%). But you can temporarily adjust your speed on-the-fly by moving the right stick up or down *without* holding the left trigger. It sounds strange in print, and it took some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it things start to make sense. But the control scheme fails with its minimalist approach to customization. You can adjust stick sensitivity and invert Y-axis, but that's about it. I would have given this game 5 stars with much more in-depth control customization.

Great game at bargain bin pricing.

Greetings Amazonites!

Darkstar One is an okay game. It reminds me of some old school PC games; it's definitely more strategy/sim than anything else. You are the pilot of an advanced ship that can be upgraded by spending money or finding artifacts. You have a large galaxy to explore. There is an underlying story, but you can avoid it by doing any number of available missions.

GRAPHICS & SOUND (4 stars): the visual quality is great. There isn't much to gawk at when not in space; the only other environments are static shots of a space station (interior) or some cut scenes of interior areas. While not jaw-dropping, the space environments are appropriately large and impressive. The stars, asteroids, planets, and so on will definitely impress anyone. The other space ships are less impressive--most are a little blocky or have some fuzzy textures.

The sound quality can't be knocked. The music is appropriate and unintrusive; it's not amazing, but it doesn't muck with the gameplay. The sound effects are good, but not great. The weapons, explosions, and other effects convey the atmosphere well.

CONTROLS & GAMEPLAY (2 stars): the controls only pertain to action while in space. You fly, shoot, and manage things with various buttons. I found the controls to be awkward and a little clunky. There's two different ways to accelerate and slow down, but the difference between the two isn't clearly explained. There are ways to match a target's speed, but it's mapped to the D-pad; it's a little odd to steer with the L-stick and then reach down to tap something--requiring you to release the steering control. The in-flight controls could use some serious work.

It takes some getting used to before you can fly and shoot accurately. I found it frustrating, which contributed to the game losing a lot of fun in my eyes. I can easily imagine this game being much more manageable on a PC--and I think it was intended as such.

In the space stations, you're just navigating menus and selecting items--it's a no brainer. The controls are irrelevant.

DESIGN & STORY (2 stars): there isn't much of a story to speak of. The backdrop is something about a mysterious ship left to the main character by his father; somewhere in the game, you can pursue how your father died and unlock the mysteries of the ship. None of this is laid out in the beginning cinematic (which makes no sense). Fortunately, the main story isn't that important. Your quest to complete jobs, upgrade the ship, and explore the galaxy is motivation enough to get out there.

There are plenty of jobs to do and places to explore. The fast travel points (gates in space) make these trips manageable. There are space stations at most major planets or installations, so finding a place to dock is easy. At any docking site, you can buy/sell commodities and upgrade your ship--as well as search for new jobs. While I enjoy the freedom of picking jobs and flying around, the lack of any coherence at all wears thin very fast.

NUTSHELL: The cool space environments and freeform missions aren't enough to counteract the wacky controls and lack of coherent story. It's ultimately a strategy/simulation game involving trade, space dogfights, and random odd jobs--rinse and repeat until you've had enough. If you enjoy these elements, however, you might enjoy this game quite a bit.

Honest reviews on Dark Star One - Broken Alliance - Xbox 360

Pros: Fun space fighter game, very rare these days to find anything like it, The PC version was fun but, so I bought this version because....... (see other thoughts)

Love the ship customization options

Cons: You cannot customize the controls for the ship, you must use the left analog stick to control the x/y axis of the ship, this is incredibly frustrating and unnatural to me. Every other flight sim, space sim and shooter you use your right hand or thumb for flight/axis control by default. This is a game breaker for me, and now I'm out 30 bucks

Most star systems are very similar, not much to explore

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I loved the pc version, but it was seriously hampered by copy protection software that caused serious crashes. The fix for these crashes was a overly complex series of steps that wasnt worth my time. I thought the XBOX version would alleviate this issue, but it just gave rise to more of this companies inept handling of software. The company who made this game deserves credit for making a good space sim, but deserves to go out of business for their horrible copy protection, and stupid things like not being able to use the right stick for axis control. This is just laziness in development, and a big part of why you dont see any popular space sims anymore.

RELEASE A CONTROL PATCH AND THIS WOULD GET 5 STARS, unless your left handed I suppose

This game is pretty good so far if you are into 3D space shooters in the vein of Wing Commander and Freespace etc. With that being saiddo not expect Wing Commander or Freespace. The graphics are dated (actually a port of a four year old PC game), the voice acting is horrendous and laughable, and the cut scenes are few and far between. However the game does provide solid controls, easy navigation, and fun combat. This game was unavailable in Canada for some reason so I had to order it online (NOTEthe picture on amazon.com is wrong for the product as of writing this). I hope to see more of these kind of games in the future!

The skin is one giant image of Mercer that would have worked were it a wraparound style, however there are cut lines to take it off the wax paper and it is meant to join edge to edge so the sides don't match the front by like a 1/2 inch, especially apparent on Mercers arm. Bu otherwise, almost two years and a move later, has held up great and looks great! Warning: OCD people will find this a nightmare to install. I know I did. After Prince of Persia and EndWar, this is the third major Ubisoft retail release to come out protected not by any intrusive yet ineffective DRM scheme but simply by gamers' honor. And, on top of that, it is a very good game.

There hasn't been a similar game released for some time now: simplified arcade-like action with easy controls, breath-taking cinematics and impressive graphics that will run in full even in mid-range PC systems. My advice: as with any flight combat game, using a joystick will make things so much more enjoyable and intuitive.

If you are more of an authenticity buff (and still have tons of free time to spare) I would advise going with a combat AddOn for Flight Simulator or a good old Jane's title. You will find no realistic cockpit and detailed controls in H.A.W.X. So, is this flight combat game dummied down? Well, yes. But I promise you: you will have FUN like never before!

Hammerheading over cityscapes and coming in from the Sun over the desert has never been more easy to master. The electronic aids and bare-minimum controls will let you enjoy the fights and start mastering them early on.

This is a 4star game but I decided to give it full marks just because the Canadians at UBISOFT keep walking the narrow path towards a DRM-free future. It cannot be easy to take such bold decisions during such a tight economy. They deserve our support.

RECOMMENDED!

This is a pretty game, lots of action, lots of things to blow up, makes a lot of noise and seems to be a game aimed at kids. It is not in any way a flight sim except that it happens to take place in airplanes. And thats where any similarity to a flight sim ends.

The planes fly like they are on rails, there is no inertia whatsoever. Engines accelerate the planes with vertical climbs not making much difference to speed. You can jerk a high AOA turn and the speed stays pretty much constant. You can go inverted and pull loop a few thousand feet off the ground~ and make it. There is no speed compression, you can turn as sharp as you want at any speed. You can target enemy aircraft and ground targets about 2-3 seconds apart and fire on them from high off angles and speed at close range and still hit.

Not much of a sim, but fun as a game. EZ entry for people with no knowledge of flight sims or desire to learn all the stuff that goes with it. Its a console game adapted to a PC platform~ nuff said.

UPDATE

I have to say that I continue to be impressed with this game as I play it more. I may have under appreciated the graphics, I find that the use of the satellite imagery to be a great thing and probably much cheaper than having designers start from scratch in a fictional world like Ace Combat series.

I think the Cape Canaveral map is cool but while playing I was reminded of an Ace Combat 4 map of basically the same thing, the Magellan Straits, Caribbean, Afghanistan, Middle East(Probably Arabia), Central African, and all of the 17 maps are really great. Another thing is that in the first mission, Juarez, Mexico, you support the Ghosts in the earlier GRAW games which is a nice tie in and I'm pretty sure you support the Rainbow Team from Rainbow Six Vegas in the Nevada map. Other noteworthy planes are the YF-23 that lost out to the F-22, the XA-20 Razorback which I've never seen anywhere else, X-29 demostrator, Harrier, EA-6B Prowler, Mig-21, A12 Wing, and other curiosities.

Something I wish was included was fully destructible environments, your missiles splash in the water but don't effect buildings or trees. Another thing that would be great would be add-on maps or a map editor in which we could use google earth imagery or some kind of expansion packs for helos, gunships or even prop planes. All in all I have to update my rating to an 8.5, since I'm a non-console player I can't compare it to the latest Ace Combat but I'm sure it more than holds it's own against it.

GENERAL THOUGHTS

Yeah this is a fun game that reminds me very much of the Ace Combat series for consoles of which I have not played since I became a PC only gamer. It's not a sim by any means but if you want that get the Microsoft flight sim or any of the other ones available on PC. I have to disagree with IGN's review of 6.7, the author clearly misses a lot of the details, such as the ability to release flares when an enemy has you locked, the changeable paint schemes and others, and has an animosity towards this game that is not called for, for me this game is between a 7.5 to 8.5 depending on how much you like the arcade modern jet combat game. I would say for me it's an 8 and that's 4/5 stars here.

The novelty of this game is really what is cool. I'm not much of a sim player and outside of that ,at least for PC gamers, there's not much in the way of cool jet fighter games. Who wouldn't want to fly one of these technological masterpieces but not have to worry about all the details that the real guys do? Not to mention the real-world locations, which is not offered in the Ace Combat series. My review is from a single player offline only POV and not really using any of the bots you can command, as it didn't really make much of a difference but I have to say I have not played this game to the end yet.

STORY

Well it's a pretty minimal story, and thanks for that I don't really follow that much in a game like this or racing games either. I still remember the silly and embarrassing Ace Combat 4 story although I did like the art style involved. This has just an ex-air force pilot(YOU) switching to a private security company that has no loyalties other than money and when it takes a contract to attack your country you rebel. That's all I'll get into as you can get a summary from the official reviews elsewhere. It takes place in 2014, standard Tom Clancy near future time setting.

GAMEPLAY

Well like I said this is an arcade game, meaning you can do about anything with your jet and as long as it doesn't hit the ground you will not be punished for it with things like flameouts or losing control. The combat is non-realistic as well, when you are under attack you can use flares and wildly maneuver your plane in any which way and it always works. Also it's a little too easy on normal difficulty, I had no trouble killing Su-27's, Apaches and various ground targets in the older FA-18 Hornet; I would expect and Su-27 to be a bigger challenge.

Also there is no need to worry about fuel as it's not even on your HUD as well as you being armed with nearly 200 missiles for every mission, even AceCombat5 had limitations that made the game a bit more strategic and challenging. Missiles can't be instantly fired in succession there's a bit of a waiting period after firing 2 to fire more. Your cannon/machinegun is unlimited as well but can't be used continuously as it get's hot and is a primarily burst weapon. The cluster bombs are awesome as well as the conventional large ground bombs with the usual HUD visualizations of trajectory and spread area.

That said it is kind of interesting to turn off the "assistance(HUD Forward View)" with left-ctrl and switch to a side view of the plane you are flying instead of the assisted normal swingman view, it's a little weird and I have not tried any missions with it on. There are no landing sequences to worry about either.

Another thing is if you hold down the missile fire button the camera will switch to the missiles view which is pretty cool. There's also something called the ERS which takes you step by step to an enemy kill, it makes it way too easy and really should be used for training purposes only.

TECHNICAL

I had no problems with the installation on Windows XP and the game picked up my Logitech Rumblepad 2 when I went into the controls settings and specified the joystick. The default settings were fine for my joypad. I have a midrange system and had no trouble getting 1680x1050 with all high. I'm using Q6600@2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 8800GT512.

GRAPHICS

These were standard to good, I would say nothing mind blowing but nothing too bad either. The jets all look like their real world counterparts and the real world cities look accurate since they are supposedly based on real satellite images, although they are limited in area. I wasn't hugely impressed with the Los Angeles area, being a resident of LA, I didn't see the Hollywood sign or other things other than the main downtown section. Also the Southern Nevada part is OK I suppose, mainly empty desert and what I assume to be Lake Mead, I used to live in S. Nevada and didn't really see much that was recognizable, I don't remember there being a Hoover Dam but I could be wrong.

The maps that stood out were Chicago, DC, Tokyo, and Rio. There's about 17 maps. The stars are really the planes as they should be.

I liked the water on the screen effect you get when going through rain. The explosions are standard this generation to look at but the explosions from the ground battles are pretty neat if nothing special. The way to really get a good view of the plane and surroundings, if not really all that conducive to play, is to use the assistance off setting using left-control. In summary the graphics are good this generation, that's not really a problem though since it's just cool to have a game like this finally for PC gamers.

SOUND

Pretty standard, everything sounds right from what I know. I turn off/down the music since I don't thing most fighter pilots are allowed that sort of thing in combat anyways and I don't need it to give me a better gaming experience as this is only a game. Some may like the drama enhancement you get from it but I'm not one of them. The explosions are pretty nice, you would of course never hear them like that in a jet but it's a game!

EXTRAS

One thing you should go and get from a third party is a plane and mission unlocker. There are massive amounts of real world planes here and I want access to them immediately, like the SR-71 Blackbird, F-117 Nighthawk, F16, F15,F14,all the migs, Mirage, Typhoon, A10 Warthog, F35 Joint Strike FIghter, F4, older 60's planes, awesome new looking Russian planes, experimental planes, F22 Raptor, next next generation USA planes, Jaguar, F-111, and probably others I've missed. As well as different loadouts of missiles for each planes specialties like precision bombs, ground target bombs, cluster bombs, air to air bombs or a mix of them particular to each plane and it's capabilities. I would guess there are at least 50 planes here not counting the variants of the same plane. My favorites include the F-15 Active, F-117, A10, SR-71, etc.

There are no helos, prop planes, gunships or heavy bombers here, this is all jets, but you do take down Apaches and other helos in missions. The planes also have at least one more selectable paint job, like the F-117 Nighthawk has the standard Stealth Black and also has the Camo pattern for daytime missions. Also there are multiple variants of each jet like the standard F16 and the upgraded F16c which I believe is the non-export USA edition or exported to close allies only as well as variants with different selectable paint jobs.

All of this stuff is unlockable only after finishing in the different difficulty settings or getting better ratings after missions or some online only stuff but who wants to do all that, search for the Hawx unlock on google and have a blast right away!

CLOSING

I recommend this to anyone who likes arcade flying games and doesn't want too much of a challenge. This game is great if you like jets in general and want the chance to fly them in a game with a wide variety. It's not a must have game, unless you are a lover of modern jets, but if you are looking for more variety in your game collection get this one. Of course this is not a fifty dollar game by any means so get it used when the prices come down, I'd say new in the forty dollar range. I'd say if you have the latest Burnout PC game or miss/enjoy the Ace Combat console series and seek a breather from the FPS's, RPG's, MMOG's and other dominant game types, this would fit nicely into your collection.

Honest reviews on Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.

First off, I'll admit I'm a simulation type guy. I've played in-depth games like the JANES series, Microsoft FSX, and the sort. However, even I get tired of managing all those switches all the time and I just want to dance around the sky and blow things up. If thats what you want, than HAWX is definitely worth a look.

First off, the graphics are the game's strong attribute. The landscape and the planes are beautifully modeled. The effects however, such as flak, missiles, enemy fire, and certain explosions, seem to be lacking in authenticity when compared to the graphical quality of everything else.

The flight model is obviously very simple and easy to use; I wouldn't recommend hooking up a complex control system to play this game. I tried my Saitek X52 system with rudder pedals, didn't work so well. But a Microsoft Sidewinder with a throttle slider and twist-style stick works outstanding.

The one area that will be a challenge is when the assistence mode (AKA the alpha limiters for those aviation buffs) is turned off. This will allow some very high angle-of-attack manuevering and snap turns. However, the other reason this mode is challenging is because the camera viewpoint in this mode is normally off to the side of your plane, keeping your plane and your target in the same line of sight. But when you get into these close-in tight dogfights, the camera can't seem to keep the enemy plane in view for more than a few moments, and good luck trying to engage with guns in this mode if you run out of your three dozen missiles. Luckily, gun ammo is infinite, and bursts are limited to the gun's heat build-up.

Overall, this game makes me appreciate the other flight sims out there that are extremely realistic, but works in a pinch if I need to give my brain a break and blow stuff up. The one remaining downfall of this game is it is VERY much like the Ace Combat series, its practically a twin. And the missions can get somewhat repetitive. At the time of this review, I've only played ten missions in, so we'll see what remaining missions have in store.

Bottom line, definitely a console arcade game for the PC, shallow learning curve, repetitive gameplay, but awesome graphics and fun, if unrealistic flight modeling. Head to head matches will probably be the main focus of HAWX fans...Lastly, this is just one man's opinion, so feel free to try the game and make your own conclusions.

When you don't even pay $6 for a game like this....how can you complain. (I bought the PC Download that is less than $5.50)

Seriously though, I played a couple missions and it's a good looking and interesting fighter/flight game. It's certainly not a sim, and it takes some getting use too..but as I said before...it's worth 4 stars in my book as far as price versus content.

I have always regretted goung with a aftermarket controller ad they are usually cheap feeling and rarely eork as well as the original 360 controller. I gave it one more try with this controller and I am really glad I did!

The reasons I tried it were bc of the remappable buttons in back and quick response triggers and each were up to par. The triggers feels so much more responsive than the 360 controller, which is awesome since its the button for shooting in Halo. The remappable 'combat buttons'

The FPS pro for Xbox 360 is a good sturdy product. The plastic rubber on the sides has a good feel, and provides extra traction, especially if you are playing a game for an extended period of time. The basic shape is the same as the traditional Xbox 360 control, and all of the controls are in the same basic place so there is no high adjustment time.

The layout of the control is the same as the normal control, with the added feature that you can adjust gameplay wit the combat buttons on the bottom of the control. These buttons add the extra ability to change combat mode in gameplay, which is great for serious players. There is also a port on the control that allows you to use the control on your PC for PC gaming. This is a great advantage if you are playing on a PC, because you can use an Xbox controller on your PC.

Overall a good controller for serious gamers, and those who are planning on playing for an extended period of time.

Very fast over wireless like the way it fits in my hands I like the 10 ft cord I have tride others but none are like this

The Combat buttons are to far up! They are useless! If this is the reason you are going to get this controller don't buy it!

That's it played a few more games it is going back, went back to my Power A controller, what a huge diffrence!

LED does not remember what color you chose, it resets to green when you turn off the console, and you have to change the LEDS back to the color of your choice!!!!! More not to like about this product!!!!

I really thought this was going to be a great product, again don't waste your time and money!

It is as good as it says it is in the description, all of the features are there, it is comfortable, and precise. It is also designed with FPS games in mind, and the features reflect that. I would HIGHLY recommend this over the standard Xbox wired controller if you want a wired controller. The form factor is about the same as a standard controller as well is the price.

Pros:

Everything in the description.

Wired; so no batteries and faster response times.

Multi-Function buttons on back are a nice touch.

It lights up, because why not?

Cons:

Multi-Function buttons on the back are a bit to high to use comfortably, but one can get used to their position.

There isn't a wireless Xbox version for people that don't like wires all over their room.

I love DA's story, the first game I played at night in the dark, just like Mass Effects, and jumped at every corner.. it was great! I'm 25 somthing hours into the game, have done all of the side quests I can, but have'nt really left Kirkwall, hmmmmm. Please tell me there is an outside world?? In the first one you were out exploring and meeting different races and traveling everywhere, the world was huge! I'm feeling alittle claustraphobic here. I wish you could buy better armor for your team and that it was alittle less.."duh! you didnt want that anyway! Lets just put that in your trash." and stuff. That being said, I still love the game and will play itthrough to the end, though I may pick up the first one again and play as someone else.

I enjoyed this game (please note, I have the Signature Edition). But I like RPGs. I like story, I like details, I like characters. I read every entry in the codex, and I do all the sidequests. I missed exactly two things in DAII one was a glitch, and for the other, I just forgot to go turn in the item before heading into the Deep Roads but didn't realize it until I was at the boss fight.

I didn't miss auto-attack, but then, I was playing a mage. My job was crowd-control and cleanup, not DPS. I didn't need to be attacking constantly. I suspect this will get annoying on my melee playthroughs, but it will still be worth it. All other aspects of gameplay are a major improvement over Dragon Age: Origins, in my opinion. My first run of the game clocked in at over 47 hours, at level 25. I did not experience any game-breaking bugs, however, I did get beaten senseless by a dragon because I was completely surprised by the (optional) fight.

The story of Dragon Age II focuses on the City of Kirkwall, which has some very serious problems, and the life of the main character. You must earn the respect and/or friendship of your companions. I lost one companion partway through the game because I had not earned their trust, and another at the end of the game because of the choices I made. Your companions are not just automatons who follow you mindlessly; they have opinions and they react to your behavior. You can even romance them, if you are so inclined. BioWare has taken a giant step in making genuine options available to all players. Based on your reactions, some of your companions will indicate interest, allowing you the player to choose your own romantic interest, instead of being forced into selecting one based strictly on your character's gender, or worse, being offered a degrading minigame of screwing every woman who crosses your path in exchange for pictures. You have the option to turn down a romance at any time, and just like in real life, your companions are slightly offended by this, but not enough to keep you from reaching 100% friendship or rivalry. Another fun feature of having a romance with one of your companions is that your other companions will comment on it, based on their relationship with you and their relationship with your love interest. Not all of your companions get along, of course. To have them all think and act the same would be boring and unrealistic.

It's clear from the small details in the storyline that Dragon Age II was written at the same time as Dragon Age: Origins. It builds on the hints given about Arlathan and the Tevinter Imperium, along with subtle hints about the nature of the Black City. I'm appalled by how many people don't realize who the Chantry Seeker is, as that means they're missing a part of the story that may turn out to be significant in DA3. I'm not sure what happened to other people, but my all of my imported choices seemed to be correctly reflected in my game. I wish that they had made mention of my Warden's race as well as my class, but it was enough that everyone knew that a mage had saved Ferelden. (Yes, I like mages. Sue me.)

The is a city campaign, unlike Dragon Age: Origins. All of the major conflicts take place inside the city. There are no armies marching across battlefields. You will spend time in a tavern, you will deal with political machinations, you will visit a brothel, all as part of the main story. You will also crawl through sewers, of course. Can't forget that. The area surrounding Kirkwall does play a part in the game, but it is not nearly as important as the city itself.

This game is not Dragon Age: Origins, nor does it aspire to be. It is its own story, and stands on its own. Many people came to this game with bizarre expectations, and were bitterly disappointed for something they had no reason to expect. This is Hawke's story, set in the same world as the Warden from Dragon Age: Origins, but with completely different goals and scope. The game expands the world of Dragon Age, but we won't fully know exactly how the two stories intersect until Dragon Age 3. I have some suspicions, of course (I hate you, Flemeth) but I can't prove anything.

There is apparently a bug with the friendship bonus of two characters I say apparently, because I did not experience it myself in all the time I played. Your mileage may vary. The only bugs that really bothered me were the unusual amount of monstrous spiders lurking in caves that my companions kept insisting that we needed to explore.

One thing that I did dislike is that the game is designed for HD and displays quite poorly on a standard TV. However, that seems to be the wave of the future for console development. I guess I should start saving my pennies.

Let me first say I own Dragon Age: Origins on the 360 and LOVE IT! This game however is Ok but doesnt offer the flare that Dragon Are: origins offered. Immediatly when you start to play teh game you keep asking yourself, man this game is different in a weird way. I ended up buying Dragon Age: origins Ultimate Edition on Steam and playing it again and running through the premium content. Sadly Dragon Age II is gathering dust.

Honest reviews on Dragon Age 2 - Bioware Signature Edition -Xbox 360

I loved Dragon Age: Origins. I beat it with three characters and completed all the DLC. I was beyond excited for Dragon Age II when it was announaced.

Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype or my expectations.

Dragon Age II looks good. The graphics are solid and an improvement upon the first entry. The voice work is also good (though I find DA:O still superior) as is the music. That is where the game succeeds, it fails elsewhere.

The gameplay itself was changed to be more fast paced and actiony. For any of the warrior classes this turned it into a pure button masher, which made longer fights less then thrilling. You spend about 90% of the game within the city of Kirkwall, only venturing out for occasional side quests. The city itself is ok sized but not massive, this leads to a large amount of reused sights and scenes. Even the side quest dungeons are reused repeatedly, with certain sectons just blocked off.

Character customization has also decreased. You are always the human Hawke, though you can pick your class and develop your skill trees as you see fit. Bioware went the Mass Effect route to give their character a defined "voice".

The story is also nothing amazing. I understand it is intended to be a more "personal" story then DA:O but you really don't feel like what are you doing matters much. Events go forward and feel like they would be close to the same without your involvement. The side characters with a few exceptions (Varric) are also not as interesting or sympathetic, nor are your interactions or relationships with them.

Dragon Age II is an ok or even good game. It does not however live up to the high bar set by the series with Dragon Age: Origins or expected by a Bioware product.

Really liked the first game, but was surprised to find how far this game strayed from that more 'old school' formula. Have to admit that combat was fun, especially when my dual wielding berzerker speed class really got rolling. Still worth a look for fans of the first game, even if it's just to keep in touch while waiting for the third game.

Reviews of EA Sports Active Accessory Pack

EA Sports Active Accessory Pack
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
I purchased this package 4-1/2 months ago along with the Sports Active game. Today I noticed that the neoprene rubber backing on both of the leg bands is tearing along the seam at the end of the velcro strap. Each leg band has been used for approximately 24 workouts (equivalent to being worn for 12 hours). I contacted customer support and was told that EA's official policy was that the bands would only be replaced under warranty within 90 days of purchase, no matter how little they were used before the damage was discovered. The customer support representative commented that this has been a very common failure and that the warranty department has been absolutely inflexible on the expiration of the warranty period.

The flaw in the design is obvious. The line of stitches places holes (which concentrate stress) along the edge of where the inflexible velcro strap meets the flexible neoprene backing. That promotes formation of rips starting at those holes. EA should fix the design and replace all of the bands of the old design that fail.

The resistance band is very soft and does not provide nearly enough resistance for most adults. I purchased a 3-pack of light/medium/heavy resistance bands from sporting goods store, and even the light band was significantly stiffer than the EA Sports band.

Since this kit includes only the faulty leg band, a useless resistance band, and some uncomfortable handles, I rate it a 1.

Since I'm not quite ready to review the actual game yet, here's my run-down on the accessories:

The leg strap that's used to hold the nun chuck for certain exercises works. It's pretty comfortable, and when set to the right tightness stays in place quite well. I'm not sure it has to do with the leg strap itself, but I find that doing alternating side lunges, the games doesn't recognize my positions well when I have to go left. To the right, no problem. Rather than over by shorts, I strap it straight to my leg it seems to stay in place better. I sweat a bit beneath it, but hey, I'm working out here so it's expected.

The elastic resistance band could have been thought out a bit better. First, you have to attach the handles to it yourself, though this isn't difficult. It seems to have good resistance and so far has been quite durable. My biggest complaint would have to be the handles they're not comfortable at all, especially since you'll be holding the remote and nun chuck in the same hands. Depending on the exercise you're doing, the position of the handle slips in your hands this is painfully obvious during tricep kickbacks. Also, it'd be better if the center of the strap was somehow marked that way when you're positioning it on the floor to step on, you could better ensure even resistances for both hands/arms. I find that I often have to readjust position and tension during the exercise which often results in those annoying reminders to 'Hold still' and 'Slow down'.

Overall these are cool accessories something more to provide resistance is a boon for any fitness title and the leg strap accomplishes its goal.

Best Deals for EA Sports Active Accessory Pack

I ordered this set to complement EA Sports Active More Workouts, which does not come with these accessories.

It was a bad choice: the resistance band broke after just three weeks of use (about eight workouts) and it's clear the leg strap is not far behind. The good news is that the EA Sports online customer service has been friendly and helpful. The bad news is that the replacement parts will be just as bad as the originals! This set might be ok if you are completely out of shape and put only minimal stress on both the strap and band.

Strongly recommend that you look at ordering a different strap there are lots of options on Amazon and your local sporting goods store. As for the leg strap, I've tried wearing tighter training shorts and rolling the controller inside the band. It's not perfect, but it seems to work.

Please read the other reviews carefully. Most of the high ratings are for the game, which is terrific. The reviews related to the quality and design of this product are generally pretty low.

Honest reviews on EA Sports Active Accessory Pack

With this add-on my wife and I can work out together. Unlike some of the other one's like Wii Fit where you would have to take turns. You can workout "co-op" to to complete the exercises.

I've owned EA Active since it came out and have loved every single minute of it. I'd workout then my roomy would workout since we only had 1 strap to use. So it made it not that much fun from a watching stand point. We just bought a 2nd leg strap and LOVE THIS workout all over again. It is so much fun working out with someone. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying the 2nd strap to workout with ANYONE who wants to try it with you or if you have kids that want to try it. It's a great addition. Not worth $20 (because the resistance tube is useless...you have to go and buy a better one which is more $) but just to buy the handles and the strap is worth it in the long run. The handles are uncomfortable and I'm going to try and put some foam padding on them and see if that helps any. It gets the job done after playing for about an hour. It gets me up and moving my butt each and every day along with Gold's Gym Cardio Boxing....LOVEEEEEEEEEE IT! Love burning over 1000 calories just between Active and Gold's Gym. FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

NFL Street 3 - PlayStation 2
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

As an owner and player of the first two games, I had high hopes for the third installment of NFL Street. The good news was that the graphics and rosters had been updated. The bad news is that after playing the game for at least an hour with a friend, glitches were evident. I do not remember all of them, but there is a terrible glitch as the line of scrimmage. Before the ball is snapped, the defensive linemen can pretty much jump over the offensive line and sack the quarterback whenever they want. The game loses all appeal when you can't get any positive yardage. If you do not use this glitch, I can see the game being fun with a new list of moves and a new way to use gamebreakers. Overall, I give this game 2 stars out of 5.

The NFL Street series are my favorite games out of them all. I prefer the Street series even over the Madden series. To me, it is just more fun to play and there are more things to do... climbing on and running along walls, jumping off objects to hurdle players, pitching the ball whenever, multiple tips on almost every incomplete pass makes for exciting football.

IMO this is as good if not better than the first two street games. There are more features... more players... new cities to play in and more game features. One new feature that I think is neat is you can collect footballs during games and after you collect them you can use them as the game football. There are all 32 team footballs (each having it's own unique design) and then other footballs that have different objects on them. There are like 50 different footballs you can collect in all.

Best Deals for NFL Street 3 - PlayStation 2

When I first purchased NFL Street 3 I was somewhat dissapointed; however, after learning the controls completly I found that this maybe the best NFL Street yet. The graphics are much improved and the ablity to jump is a nice feature. Also the gamebreakers are much improved so when you use one, you are not guranteed to score unlike in the past 2 games. Although I have read in other reviews that Respect The Street mode is a negative part to the game, I would have to disagree. This new mode made the game addictive to me because I always wanted to keep getting farther and farther into it.

In my opinion there are not many negative factors to the game other that the fact that it would be nice if the folks at EA Big made the controls more similar to Madden 07. I confuse the controls sometimes

Honest reviews on NFL Street 3 - PlayStation 2

This is an okay game. This game gets old pretty fast and redundant. It's okay for kids but if you're looking for a game with physics, this isn't the game for you.

It was hard for me to give this a 2 because I am a big fan of EA Big games but this is a sheer disappointment... Every drive ends or begins with a fumble on offense and if not that your picked off a lot or 4 and outs constantly... It is almost impossible to get a completion. The other night I threw four picks and 1 touch... NFL Challenge is no more either. This game lags and is just saddening...

I bought the udraw a couple weeks back for my son and he seems to really enjoy it. I also played around with it and found the device fun but limited. There is a bit of a learning curve since you are confined to the space of the pad while your area on the Tv is much larger. The precision is decent although it seems that additional pressure points would have helped. To my son, I don't think he is that picky and just has fun doodling and also learning a few some techniques from the in game host. I also got him the Marvel Hero Squad game for the udraw and that game he plays daily and actually has some pretty clever controls. Unfortunely I paid $80 for the udraw, but at $50 now I think it is a good buy.

The art aspect of this game is awesome, but both my girls are leftys, and holding the pen with the left hand and having to click the A button with the left hand is impossible, and crossing the right hand over to hit the A is awkward. Being many artistic people are left handed, the game should have been designed with options for either left or right handed people.

Other than that, my girls love it.

Too lazy to write my own review but here's one from the older version of the tablet, I agree with everything that's said in it!

"Ours came today. Set up was simple, just connecting it and then putting the Wiimote into the tablet. Mostly it was just doodles but when we started looking at all of the different options and things you can do with it we realized we are really going to have to spend some time with it. I'm going to try to get everyone to draw a Christmas card and then go online to use it as our Christmas card! You can do all sorts of things with saving the pictures you draw. And we played a full game of Pictionary, which we ordered too. We all LOVED THAT. It takes a while to get used to drawing and seeing it on the screen and also the drawing pad is a little small so you have to practice, but part of the fun of drawing is making mistakes and drawing silly things. Our next door neightbor is a graphic designer and I want to have him over this weekend to show us what he can do with it. Great choice and it would be a really great holiday gift. If you're seriously worried about being bored, then know that this is NOT A "GAME." It's a really great drawing/art device and we are really happy we bought it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED." -Edward

We ordered this uDraw and found when we got it that the Artist game it comes with will not work with our Wii (which we bought in 2008) The Princess game does work. We have ordered the Wii USB adapter and will try to update the Wii online. We haven't connected the Wii to the Internet due to the young ages of my grandchildren. We now will try to update it so that it will read the Artist game.

My daughter loves anything to do with Art. She got a Wii for a Christmas Present and I decided to buy her the UDraw for her birthday in January.

She has so much fun on the UDraw! There is so much to do! It keeps her busy for hours. She likes to draw pictures and save them then print them out. The UDraw was one of the best presents I could get her and it's so easy to use.

It keeps her imagination going and it also has games to play as well. Games that are fun for all ages. The best part is she can buy other games for the UDraw too!

I rate this a 5 star game and would recommend it for anyone who has a child that likes to color, draw, play games, and just use their imagination!

In Tenchu 2 you use many Ninja style weapons some that were in the original game, others that are new like flaming arrows. You use stealth to sneak up on your enemy and kill him/her without them knowing what hit them! The game is really bloody for some this might be great for others it might not be all that good. Tenchu 2 comes with a new feature the mission editor, in the mission editor you can create your own levels and place enemies within the levels! It's a great feature that makes an already great game even better. All together the game has 29 levels, 3 playable characters (the two Ninja characters that were in the original game and a new Ninja character),22 weapons, a mission editor, and many hours of fun. For those of you who like games that are based on stealth this is a game you can't pass up!

I played Tenchu 1 for the first time about 3 months ago.

That got me hooked and I recently bought Tenchu 3. More great stuff.

I didn't buy Tenchu 2 at first since I heard it was inferior to Tenchu 1; and Tenchu 2 appears to be only available used.

Nevertheless, in reality Tenchu 2 is quite a bit better than Tenchu 1. Some extras that make Tenchu 2 sweet:

Build your own game levels if you use the free psx emulator you can download and play levels that other people make.

Graphics are better in tenchu 2 than tenchu 1. Graphics are significantly better if you play it on the psx emulator since it takes advantage of the full resolution of your modern PC (I can play it at 1280x1024 on my laptop!!!).

Comes with a real tutorial unlike Tenchu 1 and 3. The tutorial is weaved into the game where you first practice as an apprentice Ninja on a number of obstacles, before being tested by your master.

Ability to swim and breath under water thru a pipe is cool.

Ability to drag dead bodies to avoid having them be discovered is cool.

These last 3 elements make the ninja sim more complete than the other 2 games.

Definitely worth gettingnew or used. Don't worry if you can't get the documentation on the used versionsthe controls are well documented on the web.

Best Deals for Tenchu 2

Tenchu2 itself isn't an utterly terrible game--I know I've put in a good 10 hours or more on it, but what's frustrating is how there is so much promise and so much failure both in the same package. The feel of the game is that Activision rushed this one out the door, and throughout the game you'll find bugs, glitches and all sorts of annoying problems that would lead one to believe that the game wasn't even beta tested. Here's my list of gripes:

-The controls are worse than Tenchu 1: Of course, Tenchu 1 is clunky but they are even worse here. A lot of would-be perfect kills will get ruined because what should have landed you right on top of your enemy has you rolling out in front of them or some other stupid stunt.

-Ridiculous AI: Tenchu 1 did not have the best AI but it was far superior to this. I've walked in front of guards and had them not see me. On the other hand, some guards are capable of seeing me through the back of their head. Also, guards quickly forget your presence and seem completely uninterested in pursuing you once you are out of sight. Yup, you can be one foot away from them but under water, and neither can they see through the water nor are they patient enough to wait even a minute to see if you'll resurface (nor wonder why a bamboo air-pipe is suddenly sticking out of the water.) This is really a let down given that there were reports that the AI would be vastly improved, guards noting blood running along a stream or looking for fallen bodies (blood doesn't run down stream in the game anyway.) Other guards can see you without even being present. This is a neat trick when your KI meter is in the teens or lower and you can't see anyone but they can see you.

-Graphic interface or whatever you want to call it: Graphics are just plain sloppy--my ninja is often teleported up four feet instead of actually having to climb or jump over fences anymore . In the same manner, when dragging bodies I've been able to leave them hanging in mid air, as though supported by an invisible floor of glass.

-Graphics in general: Sometimes the backgrounds go through objects (IE you can see the sun and clouds THROUGH a wall of mountains. Also, sometimes you can see guards out of your perriphrial vision but not straight ahead.

-Inconsistancy with stealth kills: Again, not only can guards see you out of the back of their head, but some -cannotbe stealth killed. PERIOD. This wasn't evident until playing Tatsumaru's 'labor shortage' level where certain guards could not be knocked unconscious even with 20 tries or so. Incidentally, this level seems nearly unbeatable and I think gives even more evidence that this was a rushed job. With 20 tries on this level, I could not beat it, and I can't say I really want to anymore.

-Difficulty level: A good friend of mine nearly sold this within the first week until we dug up the cheat code. The game is nearly unplayable without the armor, but it is almost impossible to get a grand master, so you can't get the armor. This would be different if I could start looting guards for blow darts on level 1, but even then, those are useless against bosses, and between the combination of worsened controls, bad camera angles and 'two hits and your dead' boss damage, Activision has managed to take all the fun out of Tenchu and turned it into a tedious and frustrating derision of the first game.

-Voice assignment: This is thefunniest glitch. Sometimes the voices of the guards are the wrong gender, and probably the glitch that had me laughing the hardest was when the shark started talking. C'mon folks! The shark should not talk. Please test your game before releasing it.

-Mission editor is a joke: Ok, this isn't really a glitch, but really, I can't even make roofs in this thing. The saving grace would have been being able to make an island full of cats or something, but all you get are boring people (maybe you can make a bunch of godha's samurai and evil samurai line up like some insane football game?)

My overall take on this game is that while Activision certainly added a lot of new things to make Tenchu the 5/5 it should have been, they lost it where it really counted--the outstanding game play that made Tenchu 1. Sure, Tenchu 2 has a lot of improvements, but none of this makes up for the lack of AI, a soundtrack, good controls, and an environment that reacts in a realistic way instead of one that has so many bugs in it I never know how it will react.

I sincerely hope Tenchu 3 will be the game this should have been. There are a lot of great ideas here, but they just seem so poorly executed that it makes one long for the game this should have been. It's still somewhat enjoyable (especially with the cheat codes), and its glitchyness is sometimes amusing, but all and all it isn't worth the $40 price tag--maybe you should look around your local vendors...my used copy will be showing up soon :)

Honest reviews on Tenchu 2

This game has great looking graphics and the story is captivating; however, the controls for the characters are very twitchy. You can't adjust them either. This is one of those games where you are given a selection of configuration A, B, or C, so basically there is no way of fixing the controlls. The character cannot strafe and turn at the same time, which is very important if you want to keep you eyes on you opponent. Then there is this weird, wall clinging move that the character does. the problem with it is that sometimes he will not do it when you want him to and, of course, do it when you don't. When the character gets into a battle, he always manages to turn his back on his opponent. You can try your best to keep the "bad guy" in front of you, but these "expert" ninjas always turn their backs on their opponents as if they want to die(it's very aggravating). Even with all this aggravation, the most IRRITATING thing about this game is the way "bad guys" seem to drop from the sky. You can check an area out thoughly and know for certain that the area is clear, then suddenly a "bad guy" just appears. I'm not talking about walking up on you, that does happen, but that's normal. I'm talking about characters just vaporizing right beside you. Honestly, I wonder if they even tested this game before they released it. I could program a game better than this.

I couldn't believe Tehchu 2 did come out a week early. So, I rushed to the store to get this baby. Well, if you like the first one, you don't want to miss this one. If you don't own the first one, buy that one first (it's cheaper) :).Tenchu 2 is pretty much the same as the first one. But now, you can drag your fallen enemies into the dark or search their bodies for goodies. And there are more stealth-kill moves. The whole area map is not given before-hand, so you will get lost for some time. And there is a story with cool FMV's! Other than that, it is still the good old Tenchu. So, get it and hide-and-kill. And "I WILL SEE YOU IN HELL!" (Onikage, Tenchu 1998)
