"Home" is everything what home usually is not, this is a side scrolling adventure, short in duration but for sure innovative and intriguing one. In this horror game you are trying to explore an uneasy world but what separates it from the rest is how many times you finish it, trying to fill the missing parts you'll not be able to see complete story, because you are actually telling the story. Due to that reason experience of each player would be different even the actions were the same.

The game starts with your hero awaken by a gathering storm, finding himself in a strange room he cannot recognize. With your help he would try to find his way back home through the sequence of discoveries and mysteries uncovered. You will be challenged with a choice of action whenever you reach decision points and depending on your answer choice will be made, action would be taken. Each item taken, part of information will be gathered, story would be coming more close together and more often you'll ask yourself are the answers more complex than what you see. It's exactly that what you will learn will shape world around you, there are not correct answer to questions asked, at least I wasn't able to find them.

Before starting the game, it is suggested to play it in the dark and to dedicate an hour or two to complete it without a break. I can also suggest you to play it with the headphones, atmosphere will be even more appropriate. Fear is more effective when you are in the dark trying to hear each and every sound.

The biggest drawback is that player wants to try going multiple times through the game in search for some clues or different game end. With each play the atmosphere is gradually disappearing although it's fascinating to see how your possibilities are changing depending on different choices you make.

Home is a great game, especially when played for the first time. It is saying a lot about human perception and reaction to the fear.

So it's not a perfect game, and the story gets a bit flimsy towards the end, but for $1, this game packs a ton of good scares, and genuinely creepy atmosphere. I got about three hours of gameplay out of 4 playthroughs, so I'd say it's worth every penny.

I think I understand what they were trying to accomplish with the delivery of this game. Kind of like a choose your own adventure. My initial experience at the end of the game was a little confusing. I knew I was effecting the overall outcome but I wasn't sure how. And outside of one major plot point, i didn't see how the other turning points made any significant changes. The end game narrative rundown seemed disjointed, I think because of this.

The gameplay keeps you interested throughout the experience. And, like many, I was interested in the retro style of this game, which is pulled off perfectly. Not particularly difficult, the game allows you to enjoy the ride, which I did.

Only gave it four stars because of the confusion at the end.

I found this headset after my experience with a pair of turtles beaches (DPX21) which are 5.1 (virtual, that means with only two speakers) the quality was acceptable and the virtual 5.1 was OK, but I wanted more for sound whoring in Black Op 2 and Battlefield 3. Similar headsets which are TRUE 5.1 Dolby Digital cost a lot more than this Sharkoons. Now I will break it for you:

PROS:

Affordable for True 5.1, with 4 speakers in each side with a total of 8 speakers that can be loud as you want.

Separate volume control for each channel (front, center, subwoofer, etc.); the volume control is great and has been improved from the previous version, you can tell the level just by the led color on your control, very intuitive when you are in match and you want to increase the volume in the rear speaker to sound whore in a S&D match in COD.

BIG and comfortable headset. I have used this headphones for over 6 hrs straight and I didn't feel any discomfort.

Mate finish in most of the plastic part also all the construction materials feel sturdy, they don't seem that they will be breaking any time soon.

Universal power supply, you can practically use it in America, Europe or Asia! (it has all the necessary adapters with great quality attach system it doesn't feel cheap at all).

The Dolby Digital receiver/decoder has it all, you can practically connect it to anything from you old VHS recorder to anything that has a digital output like TOSLINK or Coaxial.

CONS:

The only one that I have so far is the microphone that you cannot fold when you don't need it, that is to be expected with headphones this big. This point is just being picky XD

For me, this headset is worth every dollar you pay, For the versatility or the True 5.1...I almost forgot the Bass quality in this Sharkoon is worth mentioning, it is superb very clear and loud if you wanted to be, sometimes it can be too much :)

I bought this after seeing the reviews for the Xtatic true headset. In addition to that headset, this one allows you to connect to a Phone/PCs with an analogue 3.5mm jack. This headset has 8 drivers (4 in each ear) and natively decodes Dolby 5.1 surround sound. I've connected it to my PS3 and i'm extremely happy with the sound quality there is zero distortion in the bass/low frequency tones, and the mids and highs sound pretty good as well. This is perfect for gaming, and you'll start hearing small ambient sounds you never noticed before with speakers.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Review

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night harkens back to the early and great Castlevanias of the old NES, but with vastly updated graphics, gameplay, and even ambiance. Sure, it's still a 2-D scroller where you roam around and jump around on platforms and what not, but it's at the top of the heap. The game starts somewhat oddly with you as a vampire hunter facing off against Dracula in a fairly wacky fight that always reminds me of a pro wrestling match. You beat Dracula, at which point time warps ahead and you switch to Alucard, Dracula's remorseful son (spell Alucard backwards..yah, clever) who brings the fight to Dracula's vast and labyrinthe castle in an effort to do away with his evil sire for all time. At first I was put off by what I thought was a bizarre and inelegant introduction (the human vampire hunter is a character from one of the mediocre middle Castlevania games, and is very unwieldy) but it turns out the manner in which you use him to defeat Dracula "historically" in the plot affects Alucard's starting abilities. Meaning if you beat up on Drakula with magic, Alucard later favors magic. Ditto for melee combat.

Anyway, the game is lush and filled with endless amounts of loot. Any monster has a chance to drop rare goodies when slain (based on Alucard's Luck stat), fake walls crumble to reveal hidden platemail, accidentally-tripped switches open bookcases or trapdoors, and zillions of types of monsters appear from all over the place. The music is great and quite haunting, and the game's RPG and money system are quite well developed. Alucard has quick "combo" spells you can use while fighting, and many of the weapons, shields, and armors he finds have their own effects which have to be discovered in game play. I've located weapons that let Alucard teleport, summon the undead to fight for him, call lightning, ice, or fire, or even waves of holy light down on his foes. Everything from helms to circlets to rings to boots can be worn, and Alucard eventually even develops the ability to transform into traditional vampire modes. Dissipate into a swirling cloud of mist and waft through a ceiling vent to escape your enemies, turn into a wolf and charge through crowds of zombies, or transform into a bat and fly around breathing fire on everyone. Lastly Alucard collects various magical relics throughout the game, that do everything from let him breathe underwater to have permament familiars that float around with him on screen and help him out (the dancing runesword is not to be missed). As an example of the thought put into this game, your familiars themselves even gain experience and go up levels, growing both stronger and smarter over time. For example, the runesword familiar at first just kinda floats along behind you, lethargically swinging at things long after they took a bite out of you. But after a while it turns into a gleaming heat seeking weapon of vengeance, mercilessly smiting anything the second it shows up on screen. At one point I turned Alucard into mist and just drifted around while the sword familiar took out a boss for me. This game also has more items and secrets in it than your average Final Fantasy, and is more addictive. It is also one of the least frustrating games you can find; you can save as often as you want in save rooms you find on your map (in a coffin, natch), heal yourself easily, and as a vampire you're more than a match for the sluggish beasts you meet early on. The challenge of the game comes from an easy balance of combat and puzzle solving, rather than a heavy reliance on one or the other.

Lastly, and most entertainingly, the bosses in this game are amazing. Unlike earlier side scrollers where the game progressed through 'levels', in Symphony of the Night you simply roam around an enormous, maze-like castle. You never know when suddenly a steel grate will drop behind you and you'll find yourself trapped in a fight with, oh, a grotesque giant mummy suspended on steel hooks that takes up 6 screens worth of animation. That's just the sort of thing that's worth the price of admission.

This is the first game I wanted to buy when I got my Playstation, sadly, it is super rare and took my 6 months to find used. This is probably the rarest Playstation game, which is sad, because it is also one of the best.

It combines classic Castlevania gameplay with RPG elements, such as the use of magic, and level points system, and a deeper storyline. Also adding to the depth is the use of money, relics that give special abilities, and a wider variety of weapons. The ability to equip weapons of your choice is a first for the series. By far the coolest is the ability to transform, you can be a bat, a wolf, or fog (!). The main character is Alucard (spell it backwards), who older gamers might remember from Castlevania 3 for NES. You meed a wide array of characters, some good, some bad, throughout your journey through Dracula's castle. The object of the game: same as the rest-find and destroy Dracula and end the vampire bloodline.

The graphics are classic 2-D, which might turn off some gamers hoping for something more like Castlevania 64 (which was fully-rendered 3-D). Despite the 2-D, the control and character movement is greatly enhanced thanks to better animation and smooth controls. Castlevania games always had great music, and SOTN is among the best in that department. Each score perfectly matches the given environment, with beautifuly orchestrated melodies. Don't let the old-school look discourage you, this is an amazing game.

Calling Castlevania: SOTN simply a nastalgia trip, while true in my case, would degrade the value of the game. It is an excellent and addictive game that satisfies on almost every level. It ranks among the best games for the Playstation, and you sould expect to pay a hefty price for a copy. It is now super-rare.

This game, which started the trend of all those terrific Gameboy Castlevanias, like Dawn of Sorrow, is an awesome play and a top 10 of just about everyones Playstation game list.

First off, this game is huge. You have to play through this game twice to get the entire experience and real ending to this game. It has a second quest, much like the old school Ghosts and Goblins, if you can remember that game... but with its own unique invereted way.

The amount of items you can gather and collect in this game is staggering too. There are numerous swords and spells to pick up and just about every weapon has its own special abilities which adds a lot to this game. Because of that no weapon seems the same.

And the relics just plain old rock. They give you abilities like changing into bats, wolves, mist forms, and allowing you to do super jumps and double jumps to unlock new areas.

Also, the hundreds of different bosses and enemies are all interesting to hunt down and slaughter. Especially the cool looking bosses, which can sometimes span an entire couple of screens...

Though this game is extremely rare to try to get a hold of now, if youre a Playstation gamer or action fan then you owe it to yourself to pick this up. Its one of the most complete and enjoyable action/adventure games of the last ten years.

This is one of the most fun games i have ever played. SotN, while a 2-D platformer, is one of the most indepth and epic games for the PSX. The story is a little basic, but it has some wicked twists that add to the fun. Basically, you play as Alucard, son of Dracula, and you try to find out what happened to the vampire-hunter Richter Belmont, who dissapeared when Drac's castle appeared from nowhere. Alucard uses a sword instead to the classic Belmont whips. Also, in addition to weapons, you can equip Alucard with armor, headwear, cloaks, necklaces, etc. that you collect throughout the game. Oh, and there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of items and weapons to collect. Also, Alucard can use a few magic spells which are executed through D-pad combinations. The classic 'heart' weapons are back, along with a few new additions. They include the Cross, spears, lightning, axes, time stopper, holy book, and a couple others. You collect a number of relics throughout the game as well, which adds to the spectacular gameplay. The enemies are well-made, and the bosses are amazing! Some of coolest bosses i've eer seen (the catacombs boss of the upside down castle is incredibly hard if yu don't no how to beat him.) As far as grapics go, they are beautiful and lush. The sounds is superb, especially the incredible scores. Controling Alucard is a charm, from using 'heart' weapons to pulling magic attacks. One of the best games ever made.

So I get this game free with purchase of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (which is also a pretty good game). People say Lords of Shadow is a great game, but it is NOT a Castlevania game. So to figure out what Castlevania games are all about I give Castlevania: Symphony of the Night a try. AND WOW JUST WOW. This game is simply incredible. After finishing this game (both actual and secret endings) here is what I thoght.

***************PROS********************

CASTLE EXPLORATION GAMEPLAY: No spoiler here, but most Castlevania games are about going into Count Dracula's castle and finding and destroying him and in process of doing so, encountering and finding a great number of vicious enemies, some really awesome monsterous bosses and awesome weapons and upgrades. Similar to other Castlevania games, this one also has A HUGE CASTLE where you, the son of dracula, can roam around structure to another doing everything stated above.

WEAPONS, SECONDARY WEAPONS, SUMMONS, RELICS, UPGRADES, TRANSFORMATIONS AND ALL TYPE OF SPLENDID STUFF: While exploring HUGE castle (emphasis on the word huge) you will find great number of different weapons (swords, mace, blades), secondary weapons (holy water, throwing axe and some weird things) and relics that will either allow you to summon various allies by your side or transform you into beasts with different abilities. Guess being a human sympathetic son of dracula comes with its own advantages. Search for these items will really push you explore the castle. While some are not so hard to find, the good ones are well hidden and will require a through exploration (or use of a guide).

RIDICULOUS VARIETY IN ENEMIES AND TREMENDOUS BOSSES: Loved it just loved it. I was surprised to see there were so many different types of enemies in the game. To top it off, defeating them and making your way through the castle rewards you with spectacular boss fights. These bosses vary from your own doppelganger to almighty you know who. There are so many so many awesome bosses. JUST BE SURE TO EXPLORE THE CASTLE THROUGHLY.

CASTLE AND REVERSE CASTLE: Now if you just rush through the game without exploring all the area, you will not get to challenge the real main boss of the game. To do so you have to explore the castle throughly, meet certain conditions and unlock the REVERSE CASTLE, which is practically a reverse version of castle you play, but with tougher enemies and more awesome bosses. I can't tell you much without spoiling, but it is not hard to do. You just have to know something.

LEVELING UP THE MAIN CHARACTER: Beating enemies and bosses will give you XPs and level you up making you stronger adding RPG element to the game. So if you are not as skilled then leveling up and then fighting the boss is always an option. I personally got addicted to this and finding items.

GREAT GRAPHICS, ART, LEVEL DESIGNS FOR A PS1 GAME: Yup not much to elaborate here. I loved the REVERSE CASTLE design and idea. Again you have to play it to see what I am talking about.

PLAY WITH DIFFERENT CHARACTER: In addition to son of dracula, you can also play as a Vampire hunter with very different abilities, you just have to finish the game once.

SECRETIVE PLACES: While you can get map of the castle early on, you still can't locate many important secret places on that map. I wish they had some type of secret map available so one wouldn't have to rely on online guides. Other than this I can complain about the graphics and stuff, but it is a PS1 game, so judging it by today's standard won't be fair.

If you are new to castlevania franchise and want to learn more, this is a great place to start. It will truly give you a good idea what Castlevania games are all about and why lords of shadow is a great game, but it is not exactly a Castlevania to be precise.

Ok, so let's get this disclaimer out of the way first: I've done reviews on lots of games but I have an 8 year old son show loves Phineas and Ferb, so this was pretty much a must-purchase.

And if you're ANY kind of gamer, this game will not challenge you at all. I beat it in less than 3 hours. So in that case (maybe if you want an easy platinum trophy?) you could rent this in a weekend and get everything.

For everyone else, those who have kids or maybe a spouse who doesn't play video games that often, this game is easily accessible. It's literally impossible to get stuck and not know what to do next. The combat is simple (I stuck with the Baseball gun the entire game and it worked fine). The platforming can get semi-difficult at times in a couple stages but other than that it's a very linear, straightforward game.

The replay value, since this is such a short game, is buy buying everything from the store, and playing the mini-games (A Claw Game and a Skee Ball game). The claw game will also give you figurines and sound/appearance mod chips which means you won't have to buy them in the store.

Graphicwise, the game looks awesome during the stages but if you've watched the cartoon the cutscenes are just awful. I would think with something as powerful as the PS3, they could make the actual characters look a lot better.

The sound is very good in the game, especially with the ability to change the sounds on the weapons. The kiddos will love that one (i.e. they shoot and their weapon moos for example).

The game controls are very sharp, the developers nailed that one.

However, I do have a couple gripes:

There are times I fell right through a platform, even though I clearly landed on it.

The only "replay value" is if you're a trophy hunter or want to buy everything. For a near full retail title ($40), getting only 3 hours of real gameplay to beat the game simply isn't acceptable in 2011, even if this is a game geared towards kids. Spyro was too and would give at least 15-20 hours.

There isn't a ton of originality in this game, as I saw elements ripped off from several (Ratchet and Clank, even Super Mario Bros 3!).

So, as with most of my reviews, here's the bottom line:

If you have a kid who's just starting to play video games, or one that loves the show, definitely buy it. But understand the actual going through the game is very short.

If you're any kind of a gamer you'll crush this game in a couple hours.

Not a lot of replay value unless you're trying to get everything.

This IS one of the better "cartoon/movie" based games I've played so if you've got kiddos, definitely make the purchase!

This is a fun game. I've been playing it for a few weeks with my boys (5 & 3 year old). They really enjoy the animated TV series so we purchased the game as a reward for good behavior. My 5 year old has picked up the game mechanics quite well and even my 3 year old can play, although he frequently just runs into a corner/wall and doesn't help with objectives he still has a blast. Luckily because of the game machanics applied to player 2, player 2 is automatically dragged along with player 1 as player 1 progresses through objectives. I've found this to be especially helpful when I play with my 5 year old and it also allows a younger sibling to play along allowing them to be part of the action, while not disrupting gameplay and frustrating an older sibling.

Pros:

-Cooperative play

-Player 1 centric (letting player 1 control pace and objectives)

-You don't die when you run out of health (you have to shake the control to 'revive')

-Simple controls

-Its Phineas and Ferb, duh

Cons:

-None that I can think of

So far, great game.

When I started to play, it only took me two days to finish the story. There were 4 HI-DEF episodes in the hybrid disc so that was a good thing.

However, I felt that the creators were going way too easy on the consumers and heres why:

1. You would never get a game over or actually lose completely. Like health is really needed.

2. The levels are too short and mostly obvious by the way.

3. Its not really as accurate as the movie.

4. The Dr.Doof robot(Final Boss) did not convince me that it was an actual boss battle but a run.

5. The ending itself was stupid and pretty lame.

Overall, maybe the little kids would enjoy and then get bored by the end of the week. Yeah, NOT worth spending $39.99 to keep, but maybe as a rental. If you got all the acheivements, good for you then.

This really is a great game, full of great graphics and put together very nicely. However, as others have stated, the game is very easy to get through and beat.

The game is broken into six worlds, each with 2-5 levels, requiring a somewhat linear progression through the game to acquire characters, weapons, prizes, etc. Very easy to navigate through but many of the levels will literally take only minutes to complete.

As a reference point, my 4-year old and I play a decent amount of PS3 games mostly the Lego series (Batman, Batman 2, Indiana Jones, Lord of the RIngs, etc.) We can play a Lego game for weeks (we only play a few hours of PS3 per week) but had the Phineas and Ferb game completed in two nights with about 2 1/2 hours of gameplay. We went back through the game a second time to acquire the coins and prizes we missed, decked out the characters in various alternative costumes, and mastered each of the levels to the fullest extent. All in, including the second time through the game, we spent about 7 hours playing it.

I would easily give this game five stars if it had more levels, worlds and a tad more difficulty to it. With any luck we may see add-on's or a sequel to the game. It is, again, very well put together but don't expect to play this game for hours on end and have it still mesmerize you.

I found out about Pokemon characters in another Nintendo game, Super Smash Brothers. I spent many hours annoying friends with Piakchu's battle cry and shortly after rented Pokemon Stadium. I loved the game play in it and a friend and I spent many hours in front of the tv hooting and hollering at each other in the midst of battle.

The other day, Pokemon Stadium 2 hit the shelves and I debated about renting it, said what the heck and just bought it. After investing my money it, I came home, showed it to a few people in the dorm and shortly had three or four people in my room. We had back seat battlers calling out commands to the people with controllers and people wandering in to see what was going on. One of the nice things about the game is the ability for 4 controllers to be used. I was curious how they were going to do this and found out it's in the free battle arena. Each person chooses 6 Pokemon and then right before the battle begins you choose 3 each and then switch between trainers in battle, a bit like a tag team.

About half of the game is one player and the rest of it is in two -four player mode.

I'm still working my way through the gyms and, yes, they do get harder as you move along. I've been frustrated by some of the higher trainers more than once.

The "battle now" idea they have is very good. If you and a friend want to sit down and have a quick little go between the two of you this is a good way to go. It is right there on the main screen and you click on it and the system randomly picks 6 Pokemon for you to battle with, this can be done in one or two player mode.

The little mini-games are so cute. If you pay attention to your own screen, un-like I did the first time, you should do well. If you want to make sure you win there is an easy setting, if you want a challenge set the system to hard.

In event battle there are 4 cups, the Prime Cup, the Poke Cup, the Little Cup and the Challenge Cup. In the challenge cup instead of you using your Pokemon's the computer picks them for you and you can battle on the settings for the Prime, Poke and little cups.

To be honest, I have yet to get through everything. I'm currently working on finding a Gameboy Pokemon game so that I can access everything this game has to offer, (as in Pokemon Stadium you need a transfer pack, and sadly it's not included in the game) yet with out it I've had many hours of battle already. Those new Pokemon are toooo cute. My faves? Of the new guys, I've found good battle buddies in Jumpluff, Skarmory, and Girafarig. My tried and true battle companions from Pokemon Stadium are Rapidash, Pikachu and Snorlax. Now... who'll help you win all those battles?

This is a great game. In Pokémon Stadium 2, there are a lot of changes and a lot of updates. In GB Tower, you can play your Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver or Crystal. There are 12 new mini games, new Gym Leaders for Gym Leader Castle, and my personal favorite feature, Mystery Gift. On the Main Menu there is a button that says 'Mystery Gift'. What this does is lets you do Mystery Gift with a girl every day. This is good if you want to get new items to make your '3D Room' look cool in White City, get new items, dolls, beds, consoles and more. My cousin and I like to make fun of the girl there. Once I get this outrageous title, I will use the old pokemon characters (i.e. Red, Blue, or Yellow) to play through the entire game. However, don't take this game on until you beat the original Pokemon Stadium in both Rounds 1 and 2. You thought it was enough. Think again! The battles are not over! You have 2 more rounds to face in this upcoming adventure. You get to pick from 4 tournaments:

Pokemon Stadium 2 is a sequel to the first one. You can now use all of the Gold and Silver Pokemon in an even better game. There are new features to this game, such as:

POKEMON ACADAMY: Learn rules of battle and strategies on three different levels. To pass each level, you have to listen to lectures, pass a test, and beat trainers set up to help you learn different strategies to use on your opponents.

NEW CUPS: You now have to master 4 all-new, challenging cups. The Little cup is for level 5 and under Pokemon, and strategy is critical. The Poke Cup returns, but has different trainers. With a level range of 50-55, it requires both strategy and power. The Prime Cup is unlimited, and requires a bit of strategy combined with brute strength. The hardest of all, Challenge Cup, makes you fight with a random team on the spot.

MINIGAMES: The new Stadium Minigames are always fun. Gusty Golbat makes you move a Golbat and collect hearts while avoiding Magnamites. In Topsy Turvy, you rapid Spin and knock your opponent out of the ring. When you get 5 Ko's, you win. In Clear Cut Challenge, you try to push A at a log's white line to make your Pinsir or Scyther cut it. In Furret's frolic, you pop up all over and try to push balls into your goal. In Barrier Ball, you play a 4-way Pong game. First one to score five goals wins. Pichu's Power Plant is a more challenging version of Thundering Dynamo. I got this a bit skeptical as i had the go-kart seat based Mushaburui low-rider seat in the past, with severe back and neck pain due to having to spend time almost curled up in the fetal position.

Now, the Playseats features a Recaro-like race seat and 2-D adjustable side plates, and a very wisely designed center plate made of beefy plastic and metal base plate. The sturdy redundant center plate allows for customization. I installed a keyboard holder in front of it.

The side plates have hole patterns that match X-52Pro throttle's, but extra drilling was required due to one of the holes laying over the support.

The left plate has an extra hole that allowed me to install a backlit keymap holder.

Of course power supply and powered 10 port USB hub a must.

I have the whole setup on a 24x46 diamond plate on funrniture sliders, so i can just put it in the corner when we want to use our 110" 24p projection system for movies.

Wop, RoF, DCS:BS, IL-2 here i come!

Everything is nice and tight, my X-52Pro/pedals and TrackIT setup look like they were made for it. One word of caution, resist the temptation to install TrackIR on the rig or base plate if you decide you need one, the problem is vibration into the TiR sensors.

Was very excited when unpacking my new flight seat. It looks good and is sturdy enough. After assembly and set up was complete with all my control goodies I discovered a quality issue. The reciever for the center shaft was not jigged correctly and as a result the shaft is pointed off center to the left and the platform is tilted low to the right. It was very obivious when I set my notebook on the platform. It will require some engineering (shiming) to correct the tilt issue but the shaft off center can not be corrected. It looks good setting in front of my 55" Sony but I feel like I'm sitting in a broken airplane.

No official licensed teams or players and no online. Hmm, sounds like a gutter ball from the start, but alas, when it comes to fun factor and just the joy of a quality video game, I couldn't put it down. Up front and to the point, I'm not a soccer fan and probably never will be, but I'm amazed how a video soccer game sucked me in like a tractor beam. As most fans know, Konami gave up on basketball and it seems they put all their time and energy into their only sports title for 2005, Soccer. Yeah, the name "Winning Eleven" is a stupid name for any game, but don't let the dullness of the name steer you away. The game plays brillianty, I don't know the rules or even the strategy for playing soccer, but I had a blast playing it. The graphics are stunning and this uses some of the XBOX muscle! My buddies came downstairs one night at my home and poked their head around the corner and asked why I was watching Soccer on TV, it really looks that good. The replays look like they were drained from sport center on ESPN, I've never seen so many seamless motion captured moves by the players in my life, players getting tripped up, gettin laid out, incredible kicks, dives, jumps, head butts, all amazing and stunningly realistic from start to finish. The staidums look amazing too, although the crowds still look like cardboard cutouts from the old Playstation days. If there was a bit of a downer, the game does not support widescreen TV's to the fullest, I want my 720dpi mode, but doesn't offer it. Darn. But on regular and HD TV's, most will be 100% satisfied with the offerings. As a single player game, you'll rejoice with the tons of mode offerings, but if you want to get the most out of it, find a friend and get hooked on one of the best multiplayer games ever. My friends were hooked from start to finish and will definitely be back for more.

The game does not have acutal licensed teams, uniforms or players, which means no famous names. But does anyone in this world really know the full roster for Brazil or Kenya? But don't think the game is unrealstic, every statistic and rating for the actual boys are all in tact here, just rub off the names and their actual uniforms. I think there is a customizable uniform option, so be sure to get some red while and blue for the good guys.

Flaws in the game? No online is a bummer, not sure why Konami would not offer that, but oh well, multiplayer still rocks and it's the best 2-player game I've seen come along in a long time now. The sound is just ok, the commentary is a bit repetitive and the music is atrocious, but the grunts and sfx on the field are great and the crowd roars like there is no tomorrow. Everything else is spot on, and this game puts E.A.s' FIFA series to the test. Thanks Konami.

I have played all of the North American W.E. games since WE 6 and I have to say that I am impressed with the consistent improvements that Konami has done with this series. Below is my review based off the PS2 version:

The Winning Eleven games have all had one thing in common: tremendous and realistic gameplay. Not only does WE 8 continue this tradition, but the game also adds on welcomed new features that compensate for the lack of online play and club licenses that is synonymous with the FIFA series:

On the pitch referee

When fouls are committed, you'll witness a referee run up to the play to either warn the player or toss out a yellow card. What makes this neat is that you have the option to select which referee will be the decision maker for your game. One ref that is not made available is Pierluigi Collina, who is heralded as being the best ref in the sport. That's a bit of a bummer but doesn't really do much to affect the game

Free kicks now involve two kickers

Yep, that's right. By using the select button (on the PS2), you have the option of using two kickers from the spot. This now only adds to realism, but strategy as well since you have more than one person at getting around the wall during free kicks.

Advanced moves

In previous versions of W.E. you had to be real adept in using the buttons to get around your opponent. Although you still need to be pretty skillful in maneuvering your man, you can use the R2 button to perform stutter steps and more fakes to get around the defender. Playing against the computer on the highest difficulty will show you how hard covering the AI has really gotten.

Improved AI

As great as WE 6 was, the AI wasn't overly difficult. WE7 was better at working on this but now, WE 8 has really added to this department. You'll find that if you play the same two teams 3 times, you'd be pressed to win all 3 games in a row. The defense of the AI has hard to get around unless you really are adept in passing well. As I said earlier, offensive AI is hard in its own right in that the addition of trick moves makes it hard to cover your opponents one on one, especially if the opposing player is a star such as Ronaldo, Zidane, Henry, etc. You'll also never score the same goal twice (unless it's a penalty kick). The AI is just too good in this game.

Improved graphics

This is easily the best looking WE game in the series. Although FIFA has been renowned for their graphics, I really think WE is not that far behind anymore. You can easily make out players such as Beckham, Schevchenko, Figo, etc. Heck, you can even witness Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United along with his huge earrings. Animations are numerous in this game as well. Players complaining, goal keepers trying to motivate teammates, players pushing each other after a hard foul was committed all add to the fun factor in this game. You'll even see dirt stains on players' jerseys after a few minutes have passed in the game.

Deeper Master's League

Although I have yet to try this part of the game, I have been told that this is the bread and butter of the game. Basically this is the part of the game where you take a team over the course of several seasons and try to build a dynastry (similar to franchise mode on other games like Madden). You can keep track of your players during the course of a season with player ratings fluctuating. Old players will retire at season's end and young players, with added playing time, will improve right before your very eyes. Previous W.E. Master League's have kept me busy so I'm expecting this year's iteration to do the same to me once I get to it.

Here are the few cons I found (PS2)

Commentary/Sound

Not horrible, but not great. However, once youre knee deep in games (which will happen once you play the hardest level), you won't be concentraing on the sound as much.

A bit of slowdown

If you have several players in the box, there's occasional slowdown but not bad enough to take away from the gameplay.

No online play. Probably the most "glaring" deficit of this game according to some. True, online play adds fun to games, but I always felt that playing a sports game with more than one person is best when you play your friends directly instead of over a broadband connection.

Overall, this is probably one of the best sports games I have ever played (Madden 2003, NBA 2K series, and SSX I think are on this level). Even if you're not a soccer fan you'll enjoy how much of a challenge this game will provide for you. If you are a soccer fan like myself, you'll be blown away by the realism this game serves up. And if you're a Winning Eleven fan, you'll be flat out impressed with the new features this game adds over previous editions.

As an avid football fan I was always disappointed with the repetitive garbage that I was forced to swallow from EASports and their Fifa franchise. Then...winning eleven 8 came out for xbox. I promptly discarded my previous fifa titles into the nearest trash receptacle and do not regret it (although I had a moment of weakness and bought fifa06 last week...that was a mistake). Anyway, on to the review.

Strengths:

-This is about as good a gameplay sim as you can expect to get out of any sports franchise. The controls are extremely responsive, and the depth of the tactical control and the myriad of types of goals that can be scored leave WE8 head and shoulders above EA.

-You have the ability to alter a player's exact position on the field (no locked in positions like fifa), their defensive or offensive mentality, the direction they will attack or make runs to, who they will man-mark, or rather what zone they are responsible for defending all down the very last inch of the pitch. The great variety and permutations this allows you to experience adds a great amount of depth and staying power.

-Couple the great tactical control with great gameplay and the formula is simple for a great game. Add to that increased gameplay depth with the various ways you can score goals (I consistently score with shots from outside the box, cross to header, cross to volley or side kick, breakaway slotted, breakaway hard shot, breakaway keeper lob and corner kicks...all on the highest difficulty level) Also, unlike fifa, you can beat players one v. one and your A.I teammates actually possess a brain.

Weakness:

The only weakness this game has is really in its presentation. WE8 only has licenses for the Spanish, Italian, and Dutch leagues...So I have to play with Liverpool FC (that's 5, get it right, 5 European cups) in all tomato red plain shirts which kind of makes the experience feel a bit hollow. Also, since they don't have licenses, you have to rename all the stadiums and all the teams in the game as well as some of the players for 'other' teams, such as Boca Juniors (It may seem a painful task, but you can get lists on the internet that help). Lastly, the menus, music and other GUI elements are quite poor (the pokemon music drives me crazy).

Don't put too much weight into my tirade at the end there about the GUI as it only slightly distracts you from the overall beautiful experience of the beautiful game that can only be brought to you by Konami and their Winning Eleven Masterpiece.

Say EA, what??? EA sports with their fifa does not come nearly this game. First of all, the graphics are great and you can play the game in third person view (you have to unlock this feature). So far , this is the best soccer game I've ever played. I own the FIFA 06 also but it is nothing like this game. If you are a soccer fan, you should pick this one up. Thumbs up!!!

I have been a 2k player for many years, I first started playing since 2K5 which was a great game as well. The last two years of NBA 2K have not been anything special, 2K10 felt like a minor leap over 2K9. However that is not the case this year, this game feels like a MAJOR leap over the previous games in the series, which I think most people didn't even think was possible.

Graphics: Awesome, don't look at the gameplay videos, that tells a completely different story. When you actually play this game and look at it, the motions are amazing, particularly how the great the equipment on the players move when the characters run down the court. The facial expressions are also amazing, and give you an amazing feeling during highlights. Also the skin tones and the Tattoos all look good, and are placed in the right spot.The only knock on the graphics that I can say is how some of the characters have an unnatural look to them (Jermaine Oneal, Larry Bird, and even Kobe to some extents look weird). The UI and the menu system is very nice though, something 2K games have always been good at. The courts are also done in amazing detail and look good down to the last piece of hardwood floor. There is so much more to be said about the graphics, but its hard to sum it all up, the graphics all around are good I would rate them an 8 out of 10 definitely the best looking in the series.

Sound: The sound is solid, the court sounds sound legit, the way the shoes sound during a quick stop and the way the ball sounds as your are dribbling and how it sounds when it goes in the net is perfect. The soundtrack for this game is very good, its definitely improving over the previous years versions and the best so far. You got Snoop, Drake, Big Boi, Cassidy, Kid Cudi, and even Ron Artest (lol). The sound is great, and the play by play is truly amazing. You really think you are watching the game, 2K has always been strong here after playing a couple of matches, I rarely heard the same things said in different games during pick up games, which is amazing. The announcers always have an amazing way in season mode/My Player mode of talking about when the season is coming to an end, and what place your current team is at in their conference which is amazing. They certainly put a lot of time and effort in the play by play which makes the ambience much better.

Controls: Not a lot to say here, in one word it's great. If you have used the 2K controls before it will be like second nature here, its very easy for even beginners to pick up and play. After one full match from the beginning to end, you will already have a strong grasp on the controllers. So just solid here, and still one of the best things about 2K basketball games.

Gameplay: A game changer, everything feels like its been improved from before. They still have all the legitimate traits of older games before this one. Lebron shoots like lebron, he has his signature shot, and his signature blocks, its scarily realistic with how they made so many players play like themselves. Tons of research had to go in for it to be this accurate. The new thing for this year is the jordan challenges. Believe it or not, this pays homage to the older 2K games. If you play NFL 2K5 (Rip) they had a mode where you can go back and play legendary games and win these game and do what those teams have done. Well, its back now, and you get to use all the amazing Bulls teams from 90's with Jordan. they also recreated all the rosters so that it is the same roster as jordan was with and the teams that he played against. So the challenges are like score 63+, plays his flu game, etc. Its really an amazing thing that they created here for the greatest basketball player of all time. The My Player mode is truly amazing, you start as basically a nobody, you create your character and when you are all finished you choose what kind of player you would like to be (scoring, passing, defensive, etc.) once you do that it assigns point to your player that can be used to build different stats. You start out in the draft combine, be impressive and you get drafted once you do, you start competing in the summer league. From there, now you are fighting for a roster spot, its really amazing and actually shows you the process of what these players have to do when they are coming to the NBA, amazing. Online, I have played about 5 games, and I have to say that its been great! No lag, and there has been no server problems which have been a huge knock on 2K basketball games online, it's looking good so far however.

EDIT 11/26/2010: Yep decided to edit this one, bought it since launch and I am still playing it even now, on black friday and also a month and a half after its release. The rating would not change at all this truly is an amazing game, you must try it for yourself!

Overall: IGN called this game one of the greatest sports games of our generation, and they are right. Nothing really quite matches everything it offers. If you play this game online and offline, you can easily surpass over 100 hours of gameplay before you know it. Throw in Jordan challenges, My player mode, and online in general, and you have a deep game with more to come back to each time you turn it on, THIS is what 2K basketball is all about.

Growing up I had the newest basketball game every year. Starting with Bulls V Blazers 92 playoffs game for SNES. You could play with Jordan in that game and it was great! I grew up a Bulls fan and followed them avidly.

NBA 2k11 helps Bulls fans, Jordan fans, and basketball fans, relive some of Jordan's greatest moments. You can also play with various Bulls teams, Lakers teams, Knicks teams, and other Jordan foes.

The gameplay is tightened and the graphics are jawdropping. Sure, there are a few glitches, but nothing that you wouldn't see in any sports game. Every player plays the way he does in real life.

The game mode where you create a player and get him to the NBA still takes way too long and still sucks. But if you bought the game for that then you're missing out on all of the rest of the good stuff. I highly recommend buying this game and you will NOT be disappointed!!

I do have nba2k12 now, but this game is still worth having and keeping. The Jordan Challenges are so fun and, yes, challenging. It really gives you a feel for how he really played and you can do everything he did. Incredibly fun to play. These games are simulations and take a lot of playing time to where you can be good at them but once you have played a few games and have gotten an idea of how to play efficiently and correctly, it's just a wonder. NBA2k12 is more updated and is a good bit more realistic with gameplay and graphics, but 2k11 is more fun to play because it's easier to get a grasp on and play. You're faulted less for your mistakes as it's less realistic. You can make passes that you never would be able to in real life but it makes it fun because not everyone understands basketball to know exactly how and when a pass needs to be done.

This game is worth having if for no other reason than the Jordan Challenge modes and the Jordan: Creating A Legend mode. Incredibly fun. I played it for literally days on end and still never even had a chance to play the seasons, association mode, or just play a bunch of exhibition games. Very fun. 10/10

I bought this game because I knew the price of it would drop since NBA2k12 was out. Before I bought this game I had played it at friends houses and they all enjoyed it, I didn't at the time because I was not good at it. After playing this game I must say, this is by far the Best Basketball Game Ever. I will not go on any deeper into the game because it is "old" now and anyone who is reading reviews on this game now probably has a pretty good idea of the what the game is about it and how highly touted this game is. Nonetheless this was a great buy to me. ******Also since the NBA is currently in a lockout, NBA 2k12 rosters are the same NBA2k11s updated rosters, so this is just as good as NBA 2k12 (maybe even better), which I eventually bought.

$30 for a new copy of NBA 2K11 is a great deal. I checked Gamestop before I purchased it here on Amazon and it was $32.99 USED. I'm glad I looked here. The game works great, no issues yet. Although, NBA 2K games have a tendency to get scratched inside the XBox while playing (faulty hardware?). The game came really fast and it's a lot of fun. If you like basketball, buy this game. If the price isn't around $30, I recommend waiting until the price drops. Also, it came with free super saving shipping. $30 with no tax and shipping.

The gameplay in Yars Revenge is addicting, fast paced, and very fun. This Game Boy Color version is much better then the version bundled on the Game Boy Advange with Pong and Asteroids. I know this because I had originally bought Yars Revenge for Game Boy Color used for about 2 bucks. At first, I could't figure out what to do in the game and didn't understand the goal. After I got the hang of this game I was HOOKED!!! It was the best 2 bucks I ever spent. Then, one day I popped the cartrige into my system, and it wouldn't fire up. Attempt after attempt to boot the game up failed: the game had inexplicably stopped working! I had played the game without a problem earlier in the day, too. So, since it broke I thought I'd buy the GBA version....wow, what a rip-off. For 15 bucks I got a slow paced, lower-rez graphics (yes) and much worse version of the game. Don't get me wrong, Asteroids and Pong are allright, but with no high score saves this compilation is lacking. Since the GBA Yars was such a dissapointment I hopped onto Amazon and once again purchased one of the most fun arcade style games EVER: Yars Revenge.

The storyline and main character in this game are very odd and unique. I won't spoil them for you. If you haven't heared of this game already and like arcade games or addicting games, this is a MUST BUY!!! The only downfall is that it won't work on your DS, so you have to bust out a GBA, GBC or original Game Boy to play it! And yes, this Game Boy Color software is backwards compatible with the ORIGINAL Game Boy hardware! How cool is that? I'd love to play this game on an original GB, too bad mine is gone for good :(

This one's a classic, folks. I don't remember 'Yar's Revenge' being one of the "bigger name" games on Atari. It wasn't a 'Pac Man' or a 'Space Invaders', but it was definately a fun game. I loved it back then and I love it now. The Game Boy port of the title is excellent. The game is just as I remembered it. The only noticable difference is that the playing field is larger than the Game Boy's screen, meaning it will have to scroll in order to get to the other side. This is a minor footnote, however, and is an obstacle that will quickly be overcome. If you loved this game in the 80's and own a game boy, grab it up!

The Roxio Game Capture HD PRO is exactly what I've been looking for in a capture device for a few years now. It is small/compact and has hdmi connections. It is simple to set up and the software is easy, straightforward, and has numerous features. The only downside is that the software takes a little while (depending on your computer) to install and get going. Along those lines, make sure that your computer has the capability to record hd footage. My main computer for game capture is unable to record with optimum settings (it's a little old :/). Once everything is set up, you just click capture and it captures to the specified folder and you click stop capture when you're done and that's it pretty simple. The price I got it for, due to the special release price, made this a must have for me. The standard price is certainly lower than most HD cap devices, especially with HDMI capability. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this purchase so far. I haven't tried the streaming or direct uploading to youtube but from what I've heard/read those features are effective and convenient.

Let me say this first, I am a beginner when it comes to capture cards (although I've recorded game play with a camcorder so does that count?). Anyways, the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO works great; no problems recording and no defects. I've yet to try streaming but I will do that in a future update of this review. The software installation is easy and so is the hardware setup; just plug in two HDMI/Component Cables, connect the card to your USB port and you're good to go(assuming you've installed the software already). The software that comes with it (Roxio VideoWave) is incredibly easy to use although I couldn't customize the render settings, only choose different presets but that's probably because I haven't fiddled around enough with the software. The device itself is incredibly light and compact so I wouldn't leave it someplace where it could get crushed by your foot or something else. If you're having any problems using this then you must have done something wrong(e.g. loose cables, wrong settings, etc.) so make sure if you have any problems that you DOUBLE CHECK everything. If you've done that and are absolutely sure that it isn't you, then you probably have a defective product. I really dislike the way people bash products due to their own human errors. This does NOT INCLUDE HDMI/COMPONENT CABLES so make sure you have the required cables.

Pros:

Cons:

After several months of editing, VideoWave has become such a hassle to use(it will get better I hope)

Final Thoughts:

If you're recording in full quality, it takes about 2 megabytes a second so make sure you have a lot of hard drive space. A 1:23 minute clip took up 158mb of space. Please make sure that your computer meets the recommended system requirements otherwise you'll be an unhappy customer and bash this product because you didn't read. If you want to use your headset and record via HDMI, you will need an audio adapter("RCA / Toslink Audio Adapter for Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 Slim" from MonoPrice). I've uploaded a couple raw MW3 clips to YouTube(DolphLundgrennn)so check them out if you'd like. They don't look as nice as the original files but it's still great. I'll capture some more game play to get the quality even better once I've learned the program.

STREAMING:

I forgot to add this into my review but streaming with VideoWave works well but you need some really fast internet. I have 30 down and 5 up and I can only stream at around 800kbps before it starts to lag.

As others have mentioned, Sony Vegas cannot read the audio codec for the recorded files so you'll have to convert the file or stick with VideoWave. It's not a bad program, it's just not as fluid as Vegas.

If you're having screen resolution problems, you need to disable "Auto Custom Scaling" or adjust those settings. Mines was on auto and it was messing up my resolution.

Sometimes you need to switch back to the HDMI input if you're receiving no signal(Using my Audio adapter caused the input to be on "component" instead of "HDMI").

If you have a monitor that has a 1650x1050 resolution and you're using this capture card, it may be a bit blurry but not to the point where you cannot see anything. Everything is still HD and very playable, but it may turn some off.

Cannot stream at 1300 kbps with a 3mbps upload so I use around 800kbps in 480p.

A friend recommends using FFSplit(assuming you can install it) and just screen cap the gameplay in the roxio software. He's gotten some really great looking streams.

Sometimes the program will freeze and stop working when I stop streaming and try to record. I cannot end the process(via task manager) which forces me to shut down my 360 and restart my PC. It hasn't happened often but it is annoying.

VideoWave doesn't allow you to add more than 2 audio tracks so make sure you save your project before trying so. Adding an audio track(such as sound effects) into the same track works however.

VideoWave is fairly slow and may be annoying to work with for people who are used to Sony Vegas.

If you're having the "No Signal" issue and your TV is 1080p, switch that to 720p. Took me a while to figure it out.

You can have different outputs meaning if you are capturing via Component, you can output via HDMI too and vice versa.

Sometimes when capturing, it will not actually record so you need to pay attention to the bottom left to see if it's recording(duration, file size created, etc.)

VideoWave is becoming incredibly annoying to use to do some basic edits and I think I'm starting to hate it. Doing commentaries or just rendering is fine.

Still works great after about 4 months

Sometimes will record 60fps. Maybe it's my PC but sometimes it would record my CoD videos with 60fps but mostly 30fps now.

Just got this device yesterday and I can say that this device is AMAZING, especially with the price tag. The reason why I'm giving this 5 stars even though I said the software is horrible(which it is), is that it's a fairly new device, and I want to give them some time to fix all of the bugs within the software. The device itself is great, and the quality you get is comparable/better than the HD PVR, Elgato etc. A lot of people say a downside to recording with this device, is that you can't import the clips into other NLEs(Sony Vegas) because the audio doesn't import with it. There is a quick fix on the Roxio forums for that, or you can download "Any Video Recorder" and convert the audio only, which takes about a few seconds. I haven't tried livestreaming yet, as I don't do live streams but I will probably test it out. Instead of pros and cons, I will write what's good about the device, and what's bad about the software as of now.

Great design, lightweight and sturdy(opinion).

Max bitrate is 15mbps, great for people who do multiple renders like myself.

720p 60fps, 1080p 30fps recordings.

"The Horrible Software" Note that this is MY experience, not yours. You may not have the same problems.

Slow loading times.

If you had problems during the installation, you'll have freezing problems with the software although I fixed it by re-installing.

If you set the bitrate to max(or over the middle of the slider bar), or if you're doing anything else, the screen starts glitching out and so does the recording. If you're having this problem, the only way to fix this as of now is to move the slider to the middle of the quality slider bar and close every program(don't know why) which lets you record at 8-10mbps.

If you mute the audio in the preview window, it doesn't save when you exit.

All in all, the device is outstanding, but the software definitely needs some work, but I will hold on to this device until future software updates as it has A LOT of potential.

I saved up my Holiday money for this card, hoping to finally get into making gaming videos. Unfortunately, the card is incompatible with my current gaming setup (taking component input and outputting hdmi) and also seems to hate every hdmi-dvi cable (i.e. exactly what I need) since it always outputs a blank signal. I've spent nearly a month diagnosing everything hooked up to this thing, and cannot for the life of me figure out the problem.

And that leaves me with customer support, which they have a complete and total lack of. Well, that's not entirely accurate. You have three options:

1. Read through their brain-dead FAQ (make sure it's plugged in!).

2. Ask for help from fellow disgruntled customers on their practically-dead forums.

3. PAY FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

You may think I'm kidding on the last one. Feel free to go to their website, look up support for this product, and instead of finding even a phone number to call for help, or a link to click to talk to somebody, you have the option of paying for a one-time-use, customer support ticket. That's just plain insulting.

I'm not alone, either: just look up reviews for their customer support, and you'll find that the company that they outsource their support to (and of course themselves by association) are loathed for having absolutely no regard for their customers whatsoever.

If you're reading this, it's hopefully because you're doing research on what looks like an appealing product. And who knows, it might even work for you.

But don't expect a single word of real help out of Roxio. And if you're like me, you'll see no reason to support a company with such blatant disregard for its customers. And if you do happen to buy this product, for the love of god, keep the packaging handy and make sure you check the Warranty, because there's a really good reason that an HD Capture Card with these specs is so cheap.

It records 720/1080 HD without a problem. Very easy settup, and very simple to use, i would recommend this for people who are just starting out on a gaming channel, or just want to show off their awesome gameplays to their friends.

Headset looks and feels great. These are basically the Ear Force Z6A pc headphones with mw3 theme. I just wanted to make sure any future buyers that plan on using for xbox360 understand that you have to go to turtlebeach.com and buy their xbox cable kit for 20 + shipping in addition to the cost of the headphones. I was really wanting to use these today and being that amazon does not sell the cables or the kit, I have to wait for turtle beach to process and ship which could be 7 more days. Will add more to this review once I get to actually use them.

Bought these about a month ago. And it's an unfortunate contradiction. It's like the headphones were made by two different manufacturers.

I'll start with the ear cups. They're great. They feel solid, they sound good, they're very comfortable, and the surround sound, while not something amazing, is definitely as describedit does sound better than stereo. The feature that some people have had trouble with, how the microphone always plays back what it picks up, isn't much of an issue like I thought it would bethere's no delay, and turning the mic off disables it obviously. Another issue is legitimate: the length of cord between the amplifier and the headset leaves it hanging off your head uncomfortablythere's really no good place to put it when it's that short.

The ear cushions are superbWhen I first got them I had them on for at least 6 consecutive hours that day and there was no discomfort, no sweaty ears, no glasses digging into my head.

Let's get to the bad, and why this is two stars.

Everything above the earcups is trash. The articulations for the ear cups and where those attach to the headband are made of brittle, weak plasticin a place that is under spring loaded tension and continuous stress when the product is in use. Needless to say, they failed at those points. I figured it was a fluke, and epoxied it back together. It broke again, in a different placeI will be able to fix them but it's going to take some ingenuity as the spot they broke is extremely thinthe stem of the ball joint that allows them to lay flat against your shoulders when you take them off your head. And I expect once I fix that the same thing will happen on the other side.

Seriously turtle beach, wherever you get this plastic, stop doing business with them. Those parts NEED to be reinforced significantly.

These are the only real surround sound headphones available for under $100(aside from the identical turtle beach Z6a that this is a rebranding of), so you may want to get them. But when you order these make sure and also order some jb weld so you can fix them when the plastic comes apart.

I purchased this headset "Used" through Amazon's Warehouse. What a great program. It's like a scratch and dent sale and with Prime, I was offered next day delivery for like $3!!! The product arrived in great shape exactly as described as a "repackage" which in my case was an original box with the seals broken and then taped with a circular Amazon Warehouse sticker to reseal the box. All the parts and the literature were included even the sticker!

As for the headset itself, this is my first Turtle Beach product and having come from a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Arena which at the two year mark decided to break off at the ear cup, I am not at all unhappy. The first thing that I noticed is the feel of the unit in your hands. It has a solid feel, like it's built well. The teaser graphics you will see that make the unit look like it is glowing green. This is not the case the knife "logo" from CODMW3 is in green but its real thin lined and almost not visible. On the other side is a small Turtle Beach graphic where the microphone attaches that is also in the same green and that's about it for the "green" *Bummer. The padding for the ears is unique. The material is not unlike the upholstery in my truck. Half rugged but smooth. I have a small, bald head and it is not irritating to me in the least. The shape of the cups is like a long oval. The top band is padded with just enough padding and embossed with "Call Of Duty" on the top. The microphone is also unique. It looks a bit like a fat bendy straw that's grey only with more rigidity than a straw even. It picks up my voice even with a box fan and a ceiling fan in the room. *Nice

The cord looks professional, and durable, having a mesh fabric feel not unlike old fashion wiring. The cord from the headset transitions into what resembles an "S-Video" male to female connection that transitions into the dongle. The dongle is branded with the Call Of Duty logo and looks somewhat "Military" but the plastic used doesn't feel like that at all unfortunately. It has a cheap, rattle when you shake it quality. The function of it is an on/off switch for the entire headset with total volume control, then rotary dials for each of the channels volume control. There is also a X-Box adapter port (don't know, don't care as I am a PC gamer) and a microphone mute slide button. The cord continues and ends to a set that has the 3 speaker cables (Green, Black, Orange) and 1 Mic Cable (pink). There is also a USB connection that is for power for the dongle/headset. Next we come to the interesting part. The unit ships with a splitter that allows you to plug both the headset AND your existing speakers into your sound card which in my case is a Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music paired with a Creative Labs P7800 7.1 Speaker set. The good part is, because you are using your existing sound card no drivers are required.

The bad part is... The splitter they give you will not pass 7.1 only 5.1 so you lose your surround speakers. Not a huge deal but worthy of a note as I pulled my hair out for about 3 hours uninstalling and reinstalling the Creative Labs drivers thinking something got corrupted or I had a plug in the wrong port of something.

In the box they also include a small get started guide containing install diagrams for different setups in 8 languages. They also include a single sheet marketing thing with a CODMW3 Logo on one side and a download code to go to a special Turtle Beach Download site. The link then redirects you to another link where you register. Registering is easy. Email address and password then next page for download code, birth date and what headset you purchased with a captcha code to submit. All of the software listed is for Delta or Bravo headsets and of no use to us. *Bummer? There is a section for a 40% off code for Turtle Beach clothing and some wallpaper and screensavers for phone, pc and tablet. And that's about it.

So to summarize this is a pretty rockin headset for the money. A couple of not so great things such as the lack of some cool software, a better, more rugged dongle and the issue with the splitter but all in all I would highly recommend this product.

I've got the X41 and I thought the multi speaker/driver design of the Charlie would improve the sound quality. From the marketing point of view it sounded like it should each driver in your ear represents a proper speaker. But in reality it doesn't work well the smaller drivers are pretty much tweeters size drivers so you are asking these drivers to produce full blown sounds also ie. explosions etc. and they don't do a good job of it. I didn't appreciate the X41 until i got the Charlie the charlie sounded painful to the ears (i tried to 'burn' them in over a couple of days but they were still painful). This is audiophile talk the charlie sounded more brittle and had a harder sound compared to the so very mellow and comfortable X41.

THe Charlie also had very poor sound location capability you'll hear the same sounds but in the X41 you can tell the footsteps behind the fence is at your back. With the Charlie it's just footsteps in the side.

And the controller is the worst i've seen there are no detents to set you settings the wheels all free float. YOu can't save a favourite settins as the wheels will move when u touch them maybe if u like a particular settins u might tape the wheel down that's the only way.

I didn't enjoy the Charlie and sold it off for a song. My lesson is that these multi speakers/driver headset don't sound as good as one single high quality driver/speaker.

Wore these headphones with consistent use for about 3 months. I brought them to a couple lans just threw them in a bag, dropped them lightly on the ground from time to time. havent done anything to them in a few weeks now and just now, like 5 minutes ago, the plastic on the right earcup 'harness', in the center of that upside down U shapped thing just broke from normal leverage when i pulled both earcups apart about to put them on.

I bought them read a couple of reviews saying the quality was poor, but said, "screw it ill try them out". Having tried them out let me tell you, there are better headphones on the market trust me. These are OK but unless you want these specifically for some reason, try something else, I know I got to go find another headset now, and these will be my first and last turtle beaches.

CONS -

COMFORTABLITY 2/5

First off, -BEWARE THESE ARE UNCOMFORTABLEI've worn soft biaural steelseries 5h's and could keep them on for 3-5 hours before my ears get irritated. These things I clocked it to around 1 to 2 hours of wearing them before my ears hurt.

In fact, maybe the reason they broke was because I had to keep taking them off because I couldn't stand to have them on for long periods. They are pretty heavy and they just smash together and sag on your ears, and the stiff headband doesn't help. Don't know why I was so surprised at how much I didn't like the feel of these.

STYLE 2/5

Second, they look pretty awful, if you look at someone wearing this they look pretty ugly, like its disproportional big size is border line awkward. One thing for sure you will get 0 style points with these on. Plus the mic looks bulky and weird.

SOUND 3/5

They are legitimate 5.1 headset which is pretty cool, but I would recommend not to buy these because that reason and let me tell you why. I don't even know what 5.1 does that my sound card + stereo doesnt. I tried changing the settings in mw3 to 5.1 but honestly stereo sounds pretty much the same.So pretty much 5.1 capable sounds cool but thats as far as I'd go with it.

PROS some things they did right. The cord is good quality, it's detachable at a really good length for wearing portably(god forbid you want to go in public with these on). I liked the big master volume knob on the inline control, but then you have 5 other different controls for like bass, front, rear stuff. Mic was crystal clear. Although when adjusting it it makes this creaking sound that everyone hears loud.

Bottom line, If all you want is good sound or like xbox support these arent bad, but with the poor quality alone I wouldn't recommend these to anyone because they WILL break and whats the point of good sound if theyre broken.

Reviews of Prototype 2: RADNET DLC Pack

I enjoyed Prototype 2 very much when I bought it. However, in two days I had beaten the game. I decided to purchase Radnet DLC, which claims an impressive "55 DLC packs."

For all the hype, I was disappointed in my purchase. Those "55 DLC packs" are mostly challenges and timed events. Goals such as how far can you toss a human/infected, or how many enemies can you kill in a certain amount of time. In Prototype 1, these challenges were included in the game at no extra cost.

By completing a set of challenges in Prototype 2, a player may unlock more powers. They are as follows:

Fast Learner: Get 25% more EP for kills

Health Pack: Brawler Pack has 25% more health

Ravenous: Enemies require 10% less damage to consume

Security Blanket: Regenerate 1% health per second while blocking

Weightless: Float higher after triggering a second Glide mid-flight

Fast Learner's exp boost is unnecessary, since I maxed my character out before the second playthrough was complete. Only the security blanket and weightless are usable on the final boss battle, and neither are necessary.

People who enjoy challenges may find the DLC worthwhile. I wanted more story-driven content, and this DLC does not provide what I really wanted; more missions, characters to interact with, etc. In my opinion, the challenges detracted from the experience, by reminding me this is a game instead of an interactive story. When I'm going on a mission to save my character's loved ones from danger, it kills the mood to see a new high score pop up for performing some random act.

Since Prototype 1 provided most of this content for free, I did not consider this DLC worthwhile. I regret paying $5 for the sale price, and I would have been angered if I had paid the full suggested $10 price.

It's DLC... Can't really argue, right? :). I forgot what this added on, but the game is great. Go around doing stuff, and "stuff" and some extreme "STUFF."
