i don't know why people say it does not work with it but after following the instructions correctly i got to work.
1. plug in device (it won't be recognized)
2. download Xbox 360 Accessories Software 1.2 from Microsoft and install.
3. now go to start right click computer manage
4.find the device-right click update driver
5. click browse computer for driver softwareclick Let pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. finally pick Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows

The handler was good on shipping time and on product quality, when i got the wireless receiver i was instantly able to play many of my pc games on a console like setting (which for some games is much more comfortable). Be sure to follow the directions to get it installed. I was frustrated it didn't work out of the box, but after reading through, it works great with my wireless xbox 360 controller. I haven't tested multiple controllers yet.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit on my 2011 Macbook Pro and it works! Sorry no simply plug & play, but more like going through Control Panel & installing the driver yourself. Connects up to 4 controllers and the wire length is perfect for playing wirelessly far away from the receiver. It works and saves you money!
