I'm very impressed with this headset. It has a cool look and great sound quality for what it supports. The first thing I did once I opened it was plug it into my iPod (to test it out) and I was impressed with the sound quality. I'm no expert when it comes to buying headsets but I can say that this headset is worth the money. The entire ear fits inside between the soft outer cushions so outside noises are nearly impossible to hear unless they are very loud. I love this headset when i'm gaming, it really adds to the game atmosphere when you play with a decent headset like this. The microphone is crystal clear as well and is very conveniently movable.

All in all a great headset. And for the price it is well worth the deal. I only knock off one star because of a couple of things. The bass on the headset is definitely there but i'd say it only feels right at higher volumes, so at regular volumes the bass tends to leave me desiring more. Not a big deal since the sound quality is excellent and its not like it feels like there isn't any bass so its something I have no problem looking past,. And it also feels a bit uncomfortable to me at first but that's just because I haven't broken them in yet. I don't think it'll ever be the kind of headset where i'll put them on and forget that I have them on.

Great headset, I recommend it! For the hardcore gamer i'd probably look elsewhere but for the casual gamer who doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a headset, look no further than here.

The sound quality is awesome. It was a huge step up from my old headset, and when gaming I can hear everything in perfect, crystal clear surround sound. And of course, music sounds downright sexy on these.

However, be ready for some serious headphone hair. This headset is very heavy and is a little bit of a tight fit at first. I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable because once you get used to it and break it in it's fine. It doesn't put any pressure on your ears which was a huge selling point for me and even after hours of marathon gaming I don't get headaches or sore ears from my headset.

Finally, the microphone. The sound quality is okay but not the best. It's not as clear as I was hoping it would be and almost sounds like, as my friends on ventrilo call it, "old time radio." But I think the quality may have to do more with your sound card/drivers so it may be completely different on your computer, just be weary of that. But one thing I can say for sure is that this microphone has AWESOME noise cancelling (a feature that my old headset severely lacked). If somebody is talking in the room right next to me, my friends can't hear it on skype or whatever voice chat I may be using. Also does a great job of blocking out the TV when I have it on, so the that's one big plus on this headset.

Overall this is a good piece of hardware for the money but not the best thing you can find. 3.5/5.0

What can I say? This product blew my mind away. I've been using a cheap $20 headset from sony my whole gaming life so getting this was a huge improvement. My fellow colleagues tell me that my mic is clear when I speak to them on Skype while I play games. If you are a FPS gamer, you'll love this. I can literally hear how many people are coming towards me and which direction they are coming from which gives me a huge advantage. If an enemy walks toward me from left, this headset only rings on the left side which tells you where to turn to brutally own your opponent. Unfortunately, I had to knock off one star for this product because it sometimes (but very rarely) get's uncomfortable. I mean this product is really comfortable, when put on correctly, but with my clumsiness and my glasses, it gets a little uncomfortable at times. However, that's the only flaw I find on this product. If you're deciding whether to get this or some other headset, get this one. Trust me, it's cheap for it's potential.

Honest reviews on Thermaltake HT-SHK002ECBL eSports SHOCK Gaming Headset (Diamond

My right channel died after 4 months. I am going to send them for warranty replacement.

I think that there is a bad design on how the cables are connected to the headset. There is no space for movement so the cables will get broken sooner or later.

I always had cheap headset [10$] that lasted years so I am quite surprised that this one that is supposed to be "higher quality" is actually lasted less than the 10$ ones. I mainly used it for Skype and music listening [no dance involved] so there was no major stress on cables.

I like the quality of the sound that is coming from the headset, but this is supposed to be a gaming so the wiring should be redesigned to be more resistant.

This game was terrible. The gameplay was aweful and not engaging at all. The kinect, which is awesome in some aplications, does NOT work well in this game. The characters in the game are, oddly enough, distinctly feminine and look like what I would guess to be the programmer's idealized and projected self image. The dialog is a string of terrible one liners.

I literally got it, played it for 10 minutes, then walked away for a bit thinking "am I missing something or is this game this terrible?" I then went back to it, played it for a couple minutes, and decided I wasted enough time. While the seller was good with fast deliver, the game itself was a castrated version of call of duty.

The company who created this should be ashamed of themselves. This is the first review I think I've made on amazon, but it found that it was worth taking the time out of my busy schedule to make this public announcement.

HORRIBLE.

I picked this game up for $8, and for that I'd say it was WELL WORTH IT...

First off, this IS the future. The game is amazing in how it handles cover. I actually find myself using training techiques like "slicing a room".

The tactics are very cool, having to duck behind or below cover. The downside of the game is the aiming with hand is a little imperfect. It is a RAILS game and not a free flow game, but that's okay.

What this game REALLY needs is light gun compatibility. If I could aim to shoot this game would so rock.

Best Deals for Blackwater - Xbox 360

It's an OK shooter. I got it for the interaction with the kinect. Moving around and being a bit more active than just sitting there playing the regular shooter games.

Honest reviews on Blackwater - Xbox 360

I'm going to ignore who Blackwater is to avoid all political talk other then to say, I purposely bought this used at Gamesto, though I still brought it back.

This is a very budget title. Horrible graphics, writing/plot, acting, repetitive shooting on rails gameplay. This is the usual shovelware that brings down a peripheral or console & insulting its' customers. I'm not expecting Halo or Gears of War, but better then good Wii graphics would be great.

Menu:

You can calibrate your reticule, but I found leaving as is worked for me best. The menu gives little options, you have many useless "checkpoints", but the game is only broken down about three points that any death won't send you all the way back to the beginning. There are three difficulty choices. You can calibrate reticule, a/v settings.

Gameplay:

It's the usual on rails shooter. There are ammo, grenades, path choices, wall & statue collectables, etc. to shoot to pick up. You do pull back your whole body left/right/down to take cover as you can't be shot much before you die & AI do shoot at you decently, that you do have to take cover. Hiding behind cover to not get shot will bring your health back, but it can be hard to find the right angle to take cover w/o getting shot. Having to move your body is a great addition that no shooter game had before which adds more real-life difficulty b/c you hand will always move away from targets like real life. The AI for the enemies, etc. are not smart at all, many bugs, disappearing items, etc.

They change the gameplay a bit w/the path choices, riding in a truck & changing characters you play as you go by gun choice: sniper, machine gun & shotgun.

Controls:

You point with one arm & it automatically shoots when the reticule is on person. This is a bad choice as shooting could be handled by the other hand like Cabela's Adventure Camp shooting mini games that have you bring the other hand from your chest down to shoot. You reload by slapping your elbow which works well & you can throw grenades. When I first played, my reticule was wobbly & slid like it was ice. I read up on the 'net that when that happens, restart the xbox & the next time, it was almost as steady as any mouse. You also have quick time events of jumping from rooftop to rooftop & kicking down doors.

You can also use the regular xbox controller for all gameplay, but it takes getting used to using the right stick to take cover & in the beginning it's very easy, but as you get 1/2 through it, the controls seems a bit slow.

Multiplayer:

Up to 8 local taking turns on challenges, no online play.

Why did I bring it back? The company who this is based on, the poor graphics for an HD console, the auto shooting, bad programming & it just was not fun. This could have been so much better & more fun with the right company & good programming. I'd love to have Raving Rabbids shooting mini games use this with their plungers.

Review of Wii InCharge Dual Charge Station

Wii InCharge Dual Charge Station
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
I looked at the other 2 reviews when I bought this item and since they were positive I figure this had to be a good product. Well I should have taken into account the casualness of most Wii users.

One of the main reasons I bought this item is because I was using rechargable duracells which would last me a good 2-3 weeks of playing before I needed to recharge them. The recharge for the duracells is about 1 hour. But I prefer to leave the sleave on my remotes and having to pull it off every time to recharge was a pain. Main selling point for this item. Anyways there is no listed charge time in the instructions for this product but I can say that it took well over 12 hours to charge 1 remote. I thought maybe this was due to being the first time charging but this seems to be the case for every charge. I am assuming due to the rubber sleave that it would slow down the charging since theres a little resistance being added. Testing that theory now.

The item claims to have 25 hours of play time. I havent tested this fact but I do know that I havent put in more than 10 hours over the week since I got the device and the charge is already completely drained.

Also there is no low battery warning. I have gone from playing a game and the home screen saying the battery is full to the remote not even blinking when I press a button.

So in short

Pros:

Can charge with sleave on though this seems to slowing down charging which would make sense considering resistance.

Cons:

Low battery life. Maybe half the life span as product is advertised to have

Long charge times. At least 6 hours without the sleave about double with it.

Wii cant detect how much power is left in the batteries so no low battery warnings

The item functions as stated.

What I find odd:

*The lights flashing when full is distracting and will continue until pack is removed from charger.

*The packs took 16 hours for initial charge not 5-6 as stated

*The reset button should be moved/fixed! When I play Mario Kart with the remote in "wheel" position without using the actual wheel the reset button gets triggered too easily. A small piece of duct tape did not fix it & it is not removable.

*Tight fit, almost felt too tight when attaching it to remote

*After 4 Hours of play they were still showing 4 bars of charge on the Wii Menu

What I love:

*They are lighter

*No more waiting for unreliable rechargable batteries

*Can charge with skin & wrist strap in place

*Barely warm after charging, heat goes away within minutes.

*Pack can be charged without the remote attached

*No contact points to break, nothing clicks into place for a charge!

UPDATE 1: The reset button turned out to be a HUGE problem for my aggressive Mario Kart driving. It has reset during online play many times. My fix was to remove an area of the red button from the outside of each pack using a dremel bit on a drill. Now an ink pen or sharp item will be needed to press reset. This was done by a professional at a computer chip manufactures shop. Will void warranty! Now it works and NEVER resets accidentally.

UPDATE 2: December 2009 Still working like new! I purchased another one too. I need to remove my Wii Motion Plus before charging.

Best Deals for Wii InCharge Dual Charge Station

Received this product earlier in the week and worked like a charm. No more hassles with the batteries. Must get for any Wii owner.

Package included the charging stand and two lithium battery pack.

The most wonderful thing about this new product is the no more metal contact between the remote and the base. I hate having to align the metal contacts in the other chargers out there. Now I can simply sit the remote down once the gaming is done with no hassle.

Also, it is so innovative that this base worked with my silicon skinned remotes. I haven't seen any other charging station out there with this yet.

There are blue led lights that tells you when the remotes are charging. I think mine were fully charged in 10-15 hours and haven't need to be recharged yet after 3 days.

Simply a must get wii accessory.

Honest reviews on Wii InCharge Dual Charge Station

I bought two of these units two months ago and absolutely love them. The ability for kids to just set the controller down in roughly the right place and still have it charge is fantastic.

I have had NO issues with charge life. I've seen the kids play for many hours with hardly any loss of charge.

I have had NO issues with the reset button, even when using the Mario Kart wheel.

My ONLY complaint is with the very bright flashing lights. With the new battery pack, each remote gains a blue LED which flashes whenever it is "docked" in the induction field. In addition, the base has two bright blue LEDs that glow steady when each remote is charging and flashes whenever each is charged. Who thought of that backwards logic???

I took some well-cut electric tape and completely covered the front panel lights. Then I used some thin strips of electric tape and covered 80% of the LED on each remote. This allows me to (barely) confirm the remote is "docked", and I don't care to see the charge indicator.

Overall, I *highly* recommend this product.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Wii InCharge Dual Charge Station

Overall a really cool product that's easy to use. Recommend this for anyone who wants to save on batteries and wants a simple easy to use product without the hassles of removing sleeves or connecting wires!!!

Pro's

*Lithium ion battery so it doesn't have that battery memory problem like other types of rechargeable batteries that are nickel cadium.

*Charges with the sleeves on which I find really amazing. Just drop it right on top of the charger even with the sleeve and it'll charge...nothing to connect except the inital connection of the base charger to the outlet. Wish they would do this with cell phones

*Charge time was 6 hours for me. I just leave it on the charger once a week. Easy since there is nothing to plug in.

Con's

*When a product is charged, the light blinks. I would have preferred if they just made the color change.

These control pads have super short shelve lives. They provide good responsiveness for about a month and go to shit. The D-pad needs more tinkering, because there is crap sensitivity in the diagonals of the D-pad and all of the 8 buttons after a few weeks of play. Do not buy this product. Its not worth 20$. If you can find this product for 10-15$, then I would say you made a decent investment. Since, this controller can be a decent stepping stone to better play, but not for the long term. Madcatz needs to quit putting out the same product with a new face and calling it new, because this controller is the same crap as the originals that also had short shelve lives. Meanwhile, the new variants end up costing 30-50$ for something that performs like a 5$ prostitute. Do yourself a favor and begin getting used to Arcade sticks, because that is simply the most reliable controller platform for fighting games. Nobody knows how to make good D-pad controllers anymore.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Reviews

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

A New RPG

The first Knights of the old Republic (KOTOR), was one heck of a game. It took everything that people loved about the classic trilogy and expanded universe of Star Wars, and packed it neatly into an epic RPG where everything you did had either light side or dark side properties. Sure there was light-saber combat, but the game was more about storyline and immersion than anything else. The countless hours of voice-acting and intriguing dialog choices, to say nothing of conversations that would or would not take place depending on what you did, created an experience that sent shock-waves through the video game world. Of course there were also some bugs to be found (okay, a LOT of bugs), and some of the mini games were pointless (anyone else get tired of playing gunner when it's almost impossible to lose?), but on the whole, that game was awesome, giving you everything from jedi mind-tricks and choking of smart-mouths with the force to dancing with twileks and finding out your own dark "Luke, I AM your father" secret. So naturally, the second KOTOR has a lot to live up to.

You Should Not Have Come Back

If the first KOTOR was A New Hope with the plot twist from Empire Strikes back, this one is probably Empire Strikes back with the plot and pacing of A New Hope. In a move that sits particularly well with me, the dialog and plot are both much darker and much funnier this time around. I knew that from the moment I found myself half-naked talking to a prisoner in a cell in a station where hundreds lie dead on the ground and psycho droids roam the halls. As the title of the game suggests, this time around everything revolves around the Sith (well, that and finding out why you were banished in the first place). Pretty much the whole has you playing cat-and-mouse with the Sith, trying to figure out who exactly the real bad guys are. Is is the tortured zombie Darth Sion, who is only kept alive by his own hatred and dark-side power, lusting for revenge on his old master? Is it Sith Lord who wears the creepy Sith Mask, so consumed with hunger for force energy that entire planets are devoured by his hunger as he roams the galaxy in his ghost-ship? Or is the true villain the one who manipulates these Sith fools, using them to make YOU stronger?

Pluck of an Old (Fashioned) Sith

Instead of the same old questions of simple "Do I kill the guy or give him ALL of my money" good and evil, a lot of situations in this game are gray areas. You COULD help someone, but it may hurt them more in the long run. You COULD listen to someone's innocent comments, only to discover that they are pure evil. And you COULD hurt someone very much by allowing them to get too close to you. Really, if there is one thing that makes this game fascinating, is the way that puts such a wonderful spin on things, making you repeatedly question your actions and why you are doing the things that you are, forcing nice people to kill when YOU are the good guy, making people betray their master to serve YOU. Perhaps the ultimate question of the game (and it's proved by the very end) is just how far are you willing to go in order to help someone you believe in or destroy something that you hate. Far more is at stake than just the Jedi and the Sith, or even just the Republic. What will you do? Sacrifice your soldiers or save the galaxy?

The Weapon of a Jedi Knight

Some people will undoubted become irked at the fact that they can't have a light saber from the get-go. But storyline is key here, and now that almost all the Jedi are dead, and most of the Sith as well, light sabers are becoming a little rare. And what with people hunting Jedi down and all, well you get the picture. Consider this though, what is a Jedi without his light saber? Have you ever thought about it? A jedi who's an expert marksman would be a dangerous foe, and a jedi with a sword is kind of like a samurai... And much to my delight, when you begin the game you DO have force powers.

I Want to Learn the Ways of the Force

When I heard about how this game was going to have all these new force powers, at first I was irritated. Great, more confusion, more head-scratching and decision making distracting me from the game. But as the game progressed I discovered something wonderful. Instead of forcing you to choose, the game helps you along by making the choices far more obvious. Certain types of Jedi gain certain abilities automatically (bonuses that come from leveling up in a certain style), and certain super-cool powers can only be obtained by types. In other words, a weapons master can't throw lightening around like a jedi master. More choices, but the impossible ones aren't shown, and the crucial ones are automatic. Nice.

Fastest Ship in the Galaxy

Really you've got to love most of the changes that have been made in this game. The card game has been expanded and so has the racing (and both have gotten a lot more sophisticated). You can break down components, build new ones, create upgrades, choose fighting styles You have three extra levels of Jedi on top of the old for dark side and light side, and dialog options change depending on your skills. Of course the game is also a lot easier on normal now (which some may not like), and there is a lot more soloing this time (which adds to the narrative, but forces you to use certain characters). I particularly loved the fact that Jedi can now equip armor of certain types and still use force powers. That and the fact that I never ran out of money (like I frequently did in the first game the first time around).

From a Certain Point of View

What really makes this game shine though, is the story. Granted, it may not be as ambitious as the first game, and a few critical moments could have been better (I wanted a LONG battle with the main villains, not a quick death for one of us), but on the whole I think the story of this game is better. Essentially you start the game full of questions and end it in a similar way, but along the way to the answers to your main questions you pick up a variety of characters who are just full of surprises, and keep you guessing as to how you should play things out.

You can try to get close to one character or another, but inevitably you're going to alienate someone, and as certain characters will give you bonuses as you teach each other various techniques, you're likely to quickly start playing favorites. While some characters will just plain shut up if you have nothing to talk about, and others will allow you (glitch time) to have the same conversations over and over again, on the whole the character interaction is incredible, augmented by some wonderful voice-acting. Depending on what you say and do, you may find yourself with not only a love interest, but a love TRIANGLE, and in this game no one is quite what they seem (even the droids).

While the influence you exert over others (turning them light or dark side and opening them up to you) is great, many will doubtless be delighted with the prospect of training their own apprentice(s) in the ways of the Force. There is just something insanely cool about training your own private army of Jedi, don't you think? Of course it can go so many ways depending on how you play...

It also seems to me that the characters in this game have a much stronger sense of identity and personal agenda than in the first game, and the conversations feel more personal. In particular I found the new female characters fascinating, as the manipulate Kreia tries to teach you, protect you, and control you, the Handmaiden tries to preach to you, learn from you, and respect you, Mira tries to decipher you, and Visas just plain worships you (or does she?). The frustrating but interesting thing about the characters is that you'll only get certain ones if you are light side/dark side and you can only figure out what they're really up to if you use your powers of persuasion in a concentrated effort. And of course there are also characters that will or will not join you depending on whether you are male or female (how about that?). Some people will completely overlook this part of the game and not talk to anyone, but they will never understand the true motivations of the characters, and certain won't have any padawan learners to educate in the ways of the force.

All in all, the story and characters are pretty great, and definitely worth playing the game through more than once to see the full scope of. Your fist time through will doubtless still leave you wondering about the future at the end of the game, as some big questions are still left unanswered (can you say KOTOR III?).

The Droids You're Looking For

And then there's the droids. Is it possible for our psychotic assassin droid to get any more sarcastic and cynical (and demented)? And what about our little astromech droid? Now you can converse with the cute little guy the way Luke and Obi-Wan did with R2 (how cool is that?). In addition to these guys though, you also have a floating orb that follows your resident mechanic/melee expert, and a new floating torture/assassin droid that is more than he seems.

What a Piece of Junk

Alright, I'll admit it. While this game has better facial detail and probably more terrain detail than the previous game (and better battle animations to boot), there are some glitches that are simply inexcusable. Yeah, there are a LOT of load times that shouldn't be there (the ones for races are particularly bad), and while you get used to them, they still are irritating. But that's nothing. During battles with vast amounts of baddies, the frame rate occasionally drops to about 0, and you'll have no idea how you (or someone else) just died. Sometimes (and I thought this most irritating of all), the dialog will be cut off and the cinematic (in-game not pre-rendered) will go black. Ugh. THAT ruins drama. And then there's times when your characters will just stand and do nothing in a battle (not good), or someone who is supposed to follow you won't (ARGH!). And of course the graphics aren't exactly state-of the-art. I mean they are better, but they're still look more like something from the N64 or PlayStation than the X-Box. Do these flaws (and others) make the game unplayable? No. But they do take away that vital fifth star...

I Have a Bad Feeling About This

There were times early in the game where I was so incredibly sucked-in that I could think of nothing else except that I hadn't played a game I enjoyed this much in ages. The storyline really is that good. There were moments when I thought this was going to be the greatest game I ever played (the flying creature from The Phantom Menace who faked being fooled by my mind-trick was one for the ages, as was Mira's description of how to deal with a guy that a girl likes). Some of the lines characters said were so close to classic Star Wars lines I was laughing hysterically (not to mention some of the wacky things you could say in reply). And no matter how slice it, saving the galaxy, fighting dark lords and wielding light sabers is mighty cool. Sadly though, glitches, gameplay flaws, and weak confrontations with the biggest bosses left this one a bit short of perfect. It's still definitely worth playing though. Especially if you liked the first KOTOR. It's also nice and long. It took me 50 hours to beat the first time through. May the force be with you...

If you love KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) you will love this. Might be because this is KOTOR 2. It has the qualities that we loved from the last game. However, there are a few changes. For one I have not noticed any dialogue between my party while traveling. All dialogue between party members is now done on the Ebon Hawk. Workbenches now creat items as well as customizing them. Skills have more use now because they are used to create better items in the workbench. Speaking of customizing lightsabers are now much more customizable with 5 slots for upgrades. Party memebers gain or lose influence points depending on how you treat them and if they agree with you. The more influence you have over them the closer their alignment is to yours and also other benefits may arise.

Well I think you must've heard plenty of good things about this game, but here are a few things I didn't like. The biggest of which is the ending. Don't worry I won't give it away. Suffice to say that it was highly anti-climatic as well as being a cliffhanger. In fact it is anti-climatic in a few more areas other than the ending. However, the story was still engaging if you can follow it. It is a bit cryptic at times and confusing, but if you could follow Metal Gear Solid 2 you can follow this. Another big problem is that it is glitchy. I didn't have any problems, but I've heard many others complain about it. Especially those with modded Xboxes. The romance options in this game never really come to fruition. Except for one, there never seems to be any resolution to the romances. Also you do not get your lightsaber until a good long way into the game. This wasn't a problem to me and added a sense of importance to obtaining one. Also lightsabers are much more powerful than in the first so it makes sense to make them rarer.

Despite all that this game is great! It is definitely worth buying if you are a fan of Star Wars and the first game. The quests are new and interesting. There are quite a few moral dilemmas. Not much if any of the quests from the previous game were recycled. Which is a good thing...

Best Deals for Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

Knights of the Old Republic II is a good game. Maybe even a very good game. Which is a pity, because its prequel was one of the greatest games of all time. The sequel doesn't live up.

The game mechanics are virtually identical to the original, which is fine. There are a few minor tweaks. The workbench can now be used to create items, not just upgrade them, and there's a new "lab station" that can make medical items and explosives. Both of these stations are much more common than the workbench was in the original. You can now switch among several "forms" which give bonuses to some attributes and penalties to others. Pazaak has been improved with the addition of some new cards, plus the first play alternates between the contestants. Other than that, there's not much in the engine that's new.

Which, again, is fine. The original's mechanics worked well and there's no need to change them. But the original achieved legendary status by building a powerful and compelling storyline on top of those mechanics, and here the sequel falls short.

The characters aren't as interesting. Your character's motivations are far less clear. There are times when a character's actions become cryptic for nothing more than the sake of being cryptic. The game shows you many cutscenes where your main character is not present, so you will gain knowledge that your character is unable to act on, which can be frustrating.

I found KotOR II much easier than the original. Virtually none of the enemies provided a challenge. I frequently found myself opening a door, facing up to a dozen foes, and slicing through them like butter, only to open the next door and do it all over again. There is an adjustable difficulty level, which I left on Normal... I can't imagine what Easy must be like.

While leaving the engine pretty much alone, Obsidian abused it by throwing more at it than it can handle. Occasions where the frame rate drops are frequent, sometimes unacceptably so. In a few instances, it dropped to less than one frame per second. I also encountered one hard crash while playing. Fortunately, the game autosaves frequently.

Ironically, I was compelled to play the game almost continuously through and completed it in a single weekend. This was because I kept waiting for it to get better, waiting for the dramatic improvement that would make it a worthy sequel. It never came, and the ending was as disappointing as the rest of the game.

My advice to those who played and loved the prequel is to play KotOR II, but keep your expectations low. Perhaps then the disappointment won't be as bitter.

Honest reviews on Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords

The original KOTOR is my fav. game of all time, but I bought Halo 2 and KOTOR 2 and Halo 2 is blowing KOTOR 2 out of the water (but it wouldn't if there wasn't so many bugs and I could actually enjoy the game). THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY BUGS AND GLITCHES. I CAN'T EVEN GET PAST A VITAL POINT IN THE GAME. BUY THIS AND PRAY THAT YOUR COPY ISN'T BUGGY.

I remember playing the original "Knights" a year ago and absolutely falling in love with it. It was the first game where I could unabashedly say it was perfect. The graphics were beautiful, the RPG mechanics were well balanced, and the battles were fun to play. Above all this, however, was an captivating story with the most interesting and deep NPCs I've ever encountered in an RPG. It's a lot to live up to. Mechanically, the sequel exceeds the original with nifty new features like the lab station and some enhanced force powers and abilities. Storywise, the game tries valiently but falls just short of the mark.

It tries really hard to differenciate itself from a typical Star Wars story, and in that in succeeds. It's not just about "light side" or "dark side", there are many shades of grey. Good deeds can have bad consequences, and vice versa. It's a nice theme, and I wish it was carried a bit further.

While the NPCs aren't nearly as deep as the original game, they are still more interesting then most typical RPGs. Where the first game revealed the characters' backstories to you slowly over the course of the game through conversations, this game opts to show you cutscenes where the characters interact with each other. This is a nice touch in some respects, but frustrating as well becauase your avatar is not present during these scenes and you can't act on the information you learn.

The plot in "The Sith Lord" is very deep, although at times it is VERY confusing. Most of the time, I had no idea why my character was doing what she was doing. It was as if there was a huge amount of backstory that was never revealed. I kept waiting for the big revelation that would explain everything, but it never came.

The end of the first game was perfect. Events were moving to a close and building up to a satisfying conclusion. Not so with the sequel. The end of the game comes extremely suddenly, not to mention out of nowhere. When the closing credits blasted onto the screen, I could only stare in dumbfounded annoyance as the controller fell from my numb fingers.

I'm being very critical here. Kotor 2 is an extremely good game, far better than most RPGs out there. As a followup to its precesessor, it fails although it does try hard.

It seems the more you read people talking about this game they either love it or hate it. I fall in the middle. I am just a casual gamer I play every now and then at night or on weekends, but I don't spend every waking moment with a controller in my hands. So take that into consideration as I make this review.

Overall I think this a fun game. I have been playing Mortal Kombat games for a long time now and I find this one just as enjoyable. I think the mix of character is nice with some of your most popular MK characters with some of the most recognizable DC comics heroes and villains.

The gameplay has been tweaked a bit since the previous MK game, but it is nothing that you can't adjust to, and overall I think it offers more character control. The special moves or super moves as called in the game are a fun mix too with most of your favorite moves form you MK characters kept in with a mix of a few new ones to keep things interesting.

We do have a return of the preprogrammed fatalities, but they have been toned down. No more dismemberment, decapitation, or removal of vital organs. This may be a big deal for you, but I don't require a high level of gore to enjoy a video game.

As far as I can tell there are no hidden characters in the game, other then the unlockable boss characters. So don't expect to find Reptile or the Martian Manhunter. But like most Xbox 360 games the game will support downloadable content in the future. But when new fighters show up is up to the video game publisher.

If you are trying to chose between the kollectors edition and the basica game save your money. The comic book that comes with the game is a quite small and almost just like a pamphlet and does not really add anything to the story. There is a small poster and a making of dvd. but you will probably be able to see all those videos on youtube before too long.

So a hardcore mortal kombat fan or gamer may not enjoy this game too much as it comes up short on gore and hidden characters. But the game still presents and interesting storyline and a chance to play as some of your favorite DC comics characters. I have it I enjoy playing it and hope to have fun with friends playing as superheros and undead ninjas.

Despite reading a lot of negative previews and thoughts from game magazines and Mortal Kombat fans, I was very interested in this game and decided to buy it anyway. I am not a big comic book reader, but I like superhero games, movies, and the characters themselves. That is the main reason I wanted this game. I used to be a big Mortal Kombat fan as well, so everything together made me want to get this. Anyway, I think it is great. It is a ton of fun. The graphics in the characters and arenas are amazing, very clean looking. The gameplay is fun. I kinda suck at it, a little rusty in fighting games, but it is still a lot of fun. The fatalities may be a little watered down, but I think they are still awesome. Sub Zero will freeze an opponent, and then pounds him into hundreds of pieces. It's good stuff. My favorite character so far is Green Lantern. The free fall fighting and klose kombat features are fun, a little difficult, but fun. i haven't tackled the story mode yet, but will be starting that tonight. All in all, this game is exactly what I wanted: A great looking "pick up and play" game for when friends come over, that is fun, has awesome characters, and can be played forever. Pick it up if you like good fighting games or are a fan of either franchise.

I haven't been a fan of MK since after MK II for the Arcades and Super NES. I've tried all the sequels but they just weren't for me, especially the last 4 for the PlayStation and PS2.

MK vs. DC brings this series back to it's roots and it's a lot of fun. The fatalities can be lame but they still do what they're supposed to give you closure to a hard fought victory.

The fighting engine is a little stiff but it doesn't hinder the game play and you get used to it relatively quickly. Besides, I found it more enjoyable that Soul Calibur 4.

Bottom lins is that the game is fun. I received it today and played through the arcade mode with Scorpion and I can't wait to play through it with the other 19 characters.

I hope Midway keeps this engine and fine tunes it for future MK releases. Here's also hoping that the next one is a mature game too. I like the DC characters though and this is a nice one-off game.

Honest reviews on Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe - Xbox 360

If you have been less than pleased with the most recent iterations of the MK franchise and would like a return to a more MK3ish kombat system (lol) then then this is the game for you. It does away with a lot of the silly and complex and memorization heavy aspects of the later MK games (stances and long and hard to memorize combos) and replaces it with more timing based skills. The game is a lot faster paced and is fun to play. It's rated T for teen, so don't be expecting a hundred rib cages to be busting out of anyone's torsos during the fatalities.

Great storyline to tie in the two universes and explaining how the heck some of these overated powerful heroes could be balanced out to make this a decent fighting game. Personally I could've thought of a better selection of DC heroes that would've fit more into the Mortal Kombat world but overall they did a surprisngly great job for the selection of DC cast that was chosen.I had to change my block button to LT for better response time for me to block but other than that, all was good. A great fighting game for the holidays with minus the weapons from previous MK games but great gameplay and good to see the MK cast finally crossover to the next generation systems. Which I think was long overdue. This is a keeper for fighting fans!

Borderlands 2 Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep Review

Borderlands 2 Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

From what I have read this is possibly the last DLC for Borderlands 2. If that is true they have saved the best for last. Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep takes place in a Dungeons and Dragons esq game played by Brick, Lilith, and Mordecai with Tiny Tina telling the story and you as the character in their game. One of the neat features in this DLC is that the game changes as Tiny Tina tells the story. For example right at the start a sunny, rainbow filled sky will instantly turn into a foggy night setting as Tiny Tina corrects herself and an unbeatable boss will suddenly vanish as Lilith tells her she can't have an unbeatable boss at the beginning of the game.

The game pays homage to RPG games and there are a lot of references in the DLC. Games like Dark Souls, Skyrim, and more are referenced through out in the matter of side quests, locations, objects, and dialog to give you a good chuckle when you catch them. And, if you don't know much about RPGs there's still plenty of good old fashioned Borderlands humor to keep you laughing as you play.

The enemies are great in the game. They're not just re-skinned like the other 3 DLC. Here you will be facing ogres, skeletons, spiders, and a lot more. Even dragons! The settings look gorgeous. Quite a bit of variety as well. You trek through everything from caves to climbing a tower and they're all awesome to take in and explore.

The main quest story is good and fun to follow along with. In a solo game, it took me about 8 hours to complete the main quest, spent about a hour doing side quests, and probably have about another hour or so more to finish the rest of them, so all in all I'd say you're looking at about 10 hours of play if you do all the quests. And, as usual like the other DLC finishing the main quest opens up a raid boss for you to battle.

There aren't to many negatives to the game. The only problem I had with it was the occasional bug that had to be fixed by exiting out of the game and reloading it. That didn't happen much though. The only other thing, which to me really isn't a negative just was kind of a bummer, was that there wasn't that much good loot in the game. I was a level 50 when I played it so I had great gear starting it and there wasn't much in the game worth me picking up. Maybe playing it at a lower level would offer different results. There are two purple rare guns worth getting though. One is offered in a side quest from Miss Moxxi. It's a submachine gun with shock damage called Miss Moxxi's Crit (the description in the gun details says Slippery When Wet. If you're older I'm sure you'll understand they're little play on words). The other one is a shotgun called The Swordplosion. It's a shotgun that shoots a sword that explodes into 3 smaller swords that explode on contact. Don't really need to say much more about that one haha. Just in case you get the game, want that gun, but don't want to play all the side quests just to find it I'll leave a hint below as to which side quest offers it since it's not really clear which one it is when you play.

When it's all said and done Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is a fantastic DLC and personally I think the best one out of the four. Definitely worth the $10. If you're new to the Borderlands game, like it, and are debating on picking up DLC for it I'd say this one is a good one to start off with.

*Hint*

A little less than 3/4's through the main quest if you head back to Flamerock Refuge (could maybe get the quest available sooner I just went back there as I got closer to the tower and noticed it), Roland will have a quest to offer you called The Sword in the Stoner. When you first accept the mission it's going to say you get a green shotgun upon completion. As you head to face the golem you'll hear Brick, Tina, and Lilith talking and Brick will ask if the shotgun can be a gun that shoots swords. Then when you turn in the quest to Roland You'll hear Mr. Torgue tell Tina to let the gun shoot swords that explode into swords that explode and then it'll turn into the unique purple Swordsplosion before you accept it.

Fun, not a re-skin of old enemies, lots of good new weapons and mods. Has an amazing raid boss.

Great story, which follows the original story mode extremely well. Goes over how Tiny Tina deals with Rolands death.

Overall a great DLC, well worth the money. It has a large amount of side quests. The main story only takes a few hours to complete.

It is a dark night, and Tiny Tina has asked our favorite Hunters Brick, Lilith and Mordey to play a game (and a old school gamer I enjoyed the first three minutes as would anyone who played D&D). As the Bunker Master, Tina is to weave the tale of mystery and adventure as they play as the new Hunters as they face against classic monsters like skeletons, Orcs, and dragons. Can the Hunters fight their way to save the queen, can they get through without Roland, and can they get Tina to eat anything else but crumpets.......

I have this on my XBOX and I have been enjoying it. As an old school gamer hearing the references like dice rolls, rules, and critical hits just take me back. See all your favorite friends from Elly, Torgue, and even Handsome Jack. And listening as the Hunters bicker as they play (listening to who was a gamer as a kid will blow your mind). Now as Tina says

ROLL FOR INITATIVE!!!!!!!

I like this game a lot. It's got pretty nice graphics, just about par for the Xbox. It does get sluggish at times, though. The gameplay(shoot [almost] everything) is [really[ fun. (More fun than even MechWarrior, in my opinion.) I love a game that comes along every once in a while that forgets all the realism ... and goes back to the basics of why shooters are so fun.

But, don't get this game if you don't like 'em difficult. It does get frustrating at times, but the only thing I found was that it makes the game more rewarding knowing that you found out the STRATEGY of beating a mission. (Yes, strategy. It exists in this game.)

Yes, the voice acting can get a little annoying at times and the in game music is mediocre. That's the main drawback of Gunmetal. Still, it's definitely worth a buy if you're getting tired of "Counter-Hack" and want a back to basics shoot 'em up.

Everyone knows in the summer, gaming is usually dull and the developers are working to live up to what they had said at E3 a month before the start of the season. Gun Metal is a fresh new title that's a bit short, and the price is pretty good.

Story:

Okay, in Gun Metal, you are in the future and Earth is all crapped up because of us, but from many decades of space exploration, we have finally learned how to utilize warp-holes to our advantage. Many people have moved to new places, but now a new place called Helios is in the spotlight. however only a few get to go and because of this, people start to bicker and fight, but a few make it through the warp-hole and when they finally reached Helios, they closed the gate for what they thought was forever. however, the people on earth opened up the gate to Helios and started to bring people to conqueror the place. the life on Helios used to be good, but now war is destroying the place and your people are starting to lose. Project Gun Metal is finally put into action to liberate the planet of Helios. Failure is not an option. 4/5

Gamplay:

Gameplay for the Havoc (Project Gun Metal Prototype 1, ie YOU!) battle suit and in jet mode is conducted in 3rd person. Mainly, you are a mech (big 40' robot, run 1 km in a matter of seconds) with missles, machine guns, so called "shotgun" for mechs of your size, plasma disc launchers, grenades, and other stuff you can think of the blow up stuff. In "mech" mode, you can strafe, jump, and absorb a limited amount of attacks via a rechargeable energy sheild (Halo, anyone?). and also in Mech mode, you can switch to a Jet, which is an airplane fighter with 10x the speed of the mech and the same amount of explosives. however you do have different weapons. There is no multilplayer in Gun Metal, which explains the below-average price. The single player campaign is short, but you'll find yourself replaying mission because of new weapons and to test new skills. however, the gameplay never goes beyond tried and true, its still a good addition to your xbox game collection. 5/5

Graphics:

Xbox is really an amazing machine that beats the PS2, GCN, and PC (sometimes!) at its graphical power. i would have to say that if you have ever seen halo's graphics, its on par with it. the explosions are amazing and each detail has been paid attention to. 5/5

Sound:

Finally, an xbox game that supports custom soundtrack, yet it is not a racing game! Also, you can hear huge explosion and if you have surround sound with your entertainment system, the bass frequencies get really low so you can feel the explosions! 5/5

Replayability:

This is where Gun Metal falls. it only has a single player mode, and there is only 14 missions in the entire game. no mission takes more than 30 minutes (it shouldn't). some are really hard though, and may take a little longer than 30 minutes to complete a mission (the time counter does not take in account on how many times you retried the mission. some of the missions are really hard becasue you have to keep from destroying something of your ally's and the thing that you have to protect gets broken really easily. 3/5 if you are a casual gamer 2/5 if you are hardcore. if ur hardcore, you'll finish it in about 4 days max and then trade it for something else.

overall:

there is absolutly nothing wrong about this game. replayability may be a slight issue, but this game is excellent and well worth its price. (note, the end missions get really hard, so if you are on the 7th mission, don't say that you are half done!)

i hope this helped you in your decision to buy a new game for your little xbox that has been sitting there collecting dust =)

Honest reviews on Gun Metal

Well, I played this game when the XBOX majorily lacked Mech games. It was before games like MechAssualt, Steel Battalion, etc...

I poped this in my XBOX, and right from the top it was a lot of fun. But after awhile it got a bit old.

Here's what I thought of the first MAJOR Mech game for the XBOX:

1) Gameplay: It's fun! You can do all kinds of cool things, beggining with turning into a jet, TONS of upgrades, rockets, the ability to use incredible fire power, and the overall fun of the game. Unfortunantly, after the first cut scene, the game in NO way refers back to the story. It is fun, but it gets a bit dull on the *>12th mission (NO connection with the story) trying to now destroy a ship. You did it! Good job, now destroy that city. Good job! Now detroy that plane. Good job! Now, resist the battle tanks and protect the civilians. Good job! Mission complete, now this time...". The whole thing IS fun, but its just endless destruction. Then more destruction, then a bit more, now fly to this new base, a bit more action.

It is fun, but with NO story and minimal upgrades, it gets really dull, and has almost NO replay value. And to add to all this no multiplayer, this is probably just a rent, not a buy. No story, multiplayer, and no real organazation of levels or even ability to figure out what mission your on. If u like button mashing Mech killing, this is for u. But if your also looking for some sort of story, and maybe a good multiplayer game, this isn't for u.

As for the button mashing, flying Mech frenzy, its a BLAST! You can turn into a jet and fly all over the place freely, shoot rockets, machine guns, jump, etc... and its all a BLAST. Definantly a good rental, this will keep u busy for a FEW nights.

2) Graphics: Pretty good. Lots of shooting, explosions, dirt, destruction, etc...and it's brought to life pretty well. The problem I had with this was that u CANT really enjoy these graphics to their finest the entire time, as there is quite a bit of frame-rate slowdown (where when a lot is going on and the screen gets really slow and choppy). It happens so often it gets a bit annoying, and it took away largely from a great gaming experience. To finish this section, the graphics were very good, NOT GREAT, and the frame-rate slowdown was too big a deal to ignore, and it after awhile got so annoying, I shut the thing off for a few minutes. Its not 24-7, but its hard to go more than 15 minutes without seeing it...which is just not exceptable counsidering the XBOX's power.

3) Options: Where the game failed. No multiplayer, no different types of games or difficulty settings, NO way to have more than a few games. I mean, its like they just slapped this game together in less than a month. Theres a single player game with NO story, and thats it. No multiplayer, different game types, and or ways of playing the game.

What would have been cool was a way to win awards, train, a few more graphics, and actual story to go by. This game was not a very good one, because of the so few options and work seemed to be put into it.

Overall, this is a good rental on a night that your bored, but definantly NOT a buy unless u can find it for less than a twenty. It just doesn't go up there with the great games the XBOX has to offer, and the depth it claims to have just isn't there. A game that could have been so much more, GUNMETAL was a very good game...until u looked for more than endless button mashing and Mech power.

Overall, I'd give this a 2.5 stars* out of 5. Felt like a half game, not reccomended to anyone who wants more than a button masher.

Hope this helped,

Thx!

I purchased this game almost as an afterthought, and was very impressed with how much fun it is. While the production values aren't stellar, the actual "meat" of the game is very well done. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed this game more than Robotech: Battlecry. Handling your mech is certainly a less cumbersome task, and the graphics (while not mindblowing) are rather good. Every mission is filled with a sense of urgency, as you must zip from location to location rather quickly in order to meet all of the mission goals. My favorite aspect of the game is it's controls. When one thinks of a mech game, a series of complicated controls come to mind. Not here. I jumped right into the game, and was flying around launching airstrikes and transforming for ground assaults in no time at all. It's not the ultimate mech game, but for the price, it certainly offers a fun (if somewhat short) ride.

This is my opinion on the Wii-U version of Deus Ex. This is not actually a review due to the base game being out for a few years now. Most people will argue the fact that the price of the Wii-U version is higher than the other consoles. While I don't really agree with it myself, I can clearly see why the game is sold at the price that it is. I own all versions of Deus Ex... 360, PS3, and PC and I can honestly say that even if this were the regular game and not the director's cut, the Wii U version would be the version to to play. Why? The answer is simple...the gamepad. The way the gamepad is utilized and intigrated with the game makes playing the game a whole new experience. Inventory management, augments, emails to get back stories, hacking, radar, map, and various other functions on the gamepad give the Wii-U version the edge. There is also another cool feature that plays out a lot like Demon Souls and Dark Souls where you can leave data icons in the world with messages (written or voice) that offer clues and hints so someone else won't make the same mistake you did or to point out alternate routes....this is used with Mii-verse. I have not personally tried this feature out yet, but it is cool to know that it is there. Like Mass Effect 2 for the PS3, this game has the DLC "The Missing Link" intrigrated in the main story, which is good. If you have neveer played the DLC, now is a good time to do so. Another thing that sells this game is that the boss fights are fixed to support different playstyles now....which is a VERY good thing! Is this game worth a purchase? Yes and No....the only reason I think people should by this game; especially if they already own/played and finshed the regular version is A: You are a HUGE fan of Deus Ex like I am. B: You own a Wii-U and want to build a good library of games for it..like me. C: You were one of those individuals that were upset with how the boss fights were in the regular version. I will say it again, the gamepad and the way it is used is great! However, it should not be the ONLY reason to buy the game for this price.

This game is great on the Wii U. Graphics are sharper from previous game, the bosses fight are really well done now and the use of the gamepad is incredible. This is a wonderful 3rd party game for the Wii U and a most for it. I like the detail improvement also. If you like Metal Gear 4 and Mass Effect, it has a combination of both. I love the dark and gold color atmosphere that the game uses. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it cost $20 more than the other consoles but then again they don't have the gamepad exclusive which is really cool!!!!

Best Deals for Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's Cut - Nintendo Wii U

When the game came out I didn't have a good PC to buy the game since I didn't have a PS3 back then. Time passed and it went under my radar until the Wii U version was announced. I got hyped for the game ever since the reveal and I don't regret my purchase. I got this game after I beat Splinter Cell Blacklist on Wii U and I love this game as well since what I learned in the previous game can be applied here and works most of the time. The graphics are amazing, the story is pretty cool and reminds me of the first Deus Ex game (love it by the way), and the gameplay is smooth and spot on.

If you haven't played Deus Ex I suggest you get the Wii U version which is the best version of them all. but if you played it already you may want to get on another platform

Honest reviews on Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's Cut - Nintendo Wii U

You can easily find many, many articles across the internet to describe what a good game Deus Ex Human Revolution is. As someone who never played the original, I was very excited to see this title coming to Wii U. I was doubly impressed to see the efforts being made by Square Enix and developer Straight Right to make good use of the Wii U's gamepad. Speaking directly to people who have never played Deus Ex, this title or any of the previous ones, I can highly recommend the game based on its game play and story alone.

However, what truly sets this title apart is the attention paid to the Wii U version. A lot of attention has been paid to make the gamepad a seamless part of the game. It's not perfect, but it is definitely one of the better uses of the gamepad. Inventory, game map, in game information, hacking, and other things like in-game instruction manual, full strategy guide, and the miiverse integration are all on the gamepad.

Inventory management is a breeze using the touch screen, but the game map is one of the best things period. You can leave yourself notes all over the map, never worry about forgetting gear or having to get lost while searching the city, just annotate the map at your leisure. On top of that, you can record hints and post them to the miiverse for your friends. This is one of the best integrations of the mic, and I hope to see more games use it going forward. Hacking is much more interactive with the gamepad, and I guess that is the point of all of this, yeah it can be done with a regular controller and you can pull it up on the tv, but there is something more interactive and immersive using the touch screen. It just works better. Lastly, and probably the one thing that made me spend a little more on this one, was the full strategy guide in game. I do not have a lot of gaming time, and it isn't always feasible to have a computer open while playing. So being able to pause, bring up the guide on the gamepad and see what I need to do is extremely helpful. I would like to see more integration here as well going forward, like being able to drag a hint from the guide on to the map.

Now this isn't all perfect, the touch controls take some getting used to, but overall they work great.

As a new comer to this series I have really enjoyed this game. It is a well done masterpiece that tells a solid story and actually lets you play how you see fit. It is worth every penny alone for the gamepad integration and the strategy guide(which is Wii U exclusive). If you are on the fence, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a really well made director's cut of a great game.

I enjoyed the game when it first came out for xbox 360 and now with the additional feature I enjoy the game more. The Wii U controller takes a little bit to get used to, but the game is still great!

Zelda Twilight Princess has been eagerly awaited by legions of Zelda gaming fans. This version features a more adult Link who rides a horse, swings a sword and saves the day.

The title is available for both the GameCube and the Wii, and there are definitely some advantages with the Wii. First, you can see the game in 480p, which is DVD quality. It's not quite high definition, but it's still quite nice! Second, you get widescreen, which means you get much more game to see on the screen. Finally, you get to use the motion sensing controllers on your Wii to swing your sword, go fishing, aim your slingshot, and much more.

First, the gameplay. Most gamers will be thrilled to hear that Link is less cartooney in this game. That's not to say it's a mature title it's still a game without blood. You kill evil enemies who vanish in a puff of smoke. You go on a variety of quests, and it's very much good-against-evil. Rather, with this Link you're not a little 6 year old on a toy sailboat. Your Link is in his late teens, has his own house, owns a horse. He is harassed by three little tykes, but there's a certain young lady whose large eyes catch at Link's heart.

In no time at all Link is out in a world which is not all butterflies and daffodils. There are dark things afoot in Hyrle. The land is covered in twilight, and you turn into a wolf to deal with the shadows. Your senses serve you well in this realm. It's not too scary for kids but it gives the game much more depth for older players.

The graphics are rather impressive for a Link game. Remember, the game is still a cartoon, so you're not seeing detailed tanks or the pores in the characters faces. The world you are in is stylized. There is plenty of detail in 480p or even in regular TV resolution to show the orange pumpkins, green vines, and fluffy white chickens which make up Hyrule. The water ripples, the dust billows and the fire flickers in the fireplace.

How about the sound? The Link games were famous (or notorious) for the silly noises characters make. None talk. I suppose this makes it easy for them to convert the game to every language in the world they just change the text out and are all set. Also, you can change your name and your horse's name without any speaking issues. The voices might not know how to pronounce "Shadowfax".

Gameplay is just amazing in its length and depth. There are numerous worlds to traverse and dungeons to delve into. There are the standard collection of mini-games, quests, things to collect, puzzles to solve. You could easily play this for months and not be done. This isn't a game to race through to say "I solved it" and move on to something else. It's a world to immerse yourself in, to get to know every hill and dale, to track down those secret locations.

I really like how the Wii controllers integrate into the game. It's not like you are using them constantly, getting exhausted with hand movements. Instead, you do a fair portion with the regular joysticks for fine movement. The joysticks are used in a more general way, for sweeping sword attacks or relaxing fishing. You can use small movements if you want but it's much more fun if you get into the spirit of things and swing away. Just make sure you have that wrist strap properly connected!

Downsides? The little "he he he" voices can get annoying quickly, especially if you are stuck on a puzzle and they are tormenting you. Sometimes the checkpoints send you back further than you might like.

They do a good job of giving you little nudges if you get stuck, helping you figure out your way through the puzzles.

In general, I think they struck a great balance between "tame enough for younger kids" and "in depth enough for older players". There are a lot of teen and adult Zelda fans out there, and they'll be quite pleased with what the game offers. This is definitely one of those must-have for gamers who like adventure games even the slightest!

If you loved Ocarina of Time as much as I did, this will make you happy.

The graphics are gorgeous. The scenery is amazing. Everything looks beautiful, and the best part is it still feels like a Zelda game. They decided to revert back to the N64 Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask style graphics (but much cleaner, of course) rather than the cell shaded Wind Waker. I like the realistic character design much more for Zelda than the cartoonish one from the other recent games.

You can also get Twilight Princess on Gamecube, but the Wii version has some extra benefits. One such benefit is the interactivity. When you go fishing, you use the motion sensitive controller to cast the line into the water and reel the fish back. This makes it a lot more fun than the somewhat tedious sit-there-and-wait-to-press-A fishing game in Ocarina of Time. I'm glad they revamped the fishing and brought it back. Also, it is much more integrated in the gameplay than the last fishing minigame in a Zelda game (which was, of course, in Ocarina of Time). You use fish in sidequests and for other purposes.

As far as the control, it feels very natural. You use one Wii-Mote and one Nunchuck together for it. You control Link's movement and targeting with the left hand and you use the right hand to move your fairy around with the motion sensor, and to supplement the left hand with looking around, that action button, and other functions. It's hard to explain without trying it yourself, but trust me, the controls are great.

You start out the game with your horse, Epona. You also get the option to name both Link and Epona when you start your file, although I'm not sure if this will have any effect other than what NPC's in the game call you. Sometimes games use naming for codes ("If you enter your name as ___, ___ will happen" type things) but somehow I doubt it for this game. Anyway, the controls for Epona are great too. Just like Ocarina of Time, you can press A to speed her up and jump over fences. She is very beautiful and detailed too. When you make turns, you can see Link pull in the reins. You use Epona for many minigames as well as just getting around. In the beginnig of the game, for example, you use her to herd goats into a shed. It's a lot of fun, and horseback riding is another feature I'm glad they brough back.

Also, don't worry if you saw Link with the weird goatherder outfit in all of the previews he does get his original outfit later on. The dungeons are AWESOME. It's rated Teen, but Zelda games have never included inappropriate content in my opinion. You do kill monsters, but there is no realistic blood or gore, or suggestive themes. The rating says "Animated Blood, Fantasy Violence". Trust me, it's fine for kids. The action is all "hero against evil" type action. This game is a total blast, and both new and old-school Zelda fans will love it. Even if you've never played a Zelda game, try this one it'll get you hooked.

Once again, Nintendo is able to give a stellar addition to the popular Legend of Zelda series. Despite the fact that the games usually contain the same three core characters (Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf), the games continue to be original. More importantly, though, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is engaging, challenging, and fun.

A few centuries after the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the descendents of Link and Zelda, who themselves are also named Link and Zelda (the various games in the series take place across various time periods, with the main characters being represented by ancestors and descendents, all of whom strangely share the same names). Link is a farmer in a southern province of Hyrule while Zelda is, as always, the princess of Hyrule. In an interesting move, the people that link lives with may not exactly be Hylians; Hylians, including Link and Zelda, have always been characterized by their pointed elf-like ears, but Link's fellow villagers have rounded ears that we have.

The first few tasks of the game have Link dealing with mundane tasks in order to learn the various controls for the game, which, for the Wii version, is extremely important. However, after being asked to bring a gift to the royal family, mysterious and shadowy beasts show up and enshroud the land in a mysterious twilight. Link is turned into a wolf while trying to fight the monsters, and is subsequently knocked out and jailed. While in jail, he meets Midna, who helps free Wolf-Link in exchange for help with a yet-to-be-revealed task.

From there, Link and Midna work as a team to rid the land of Hyrule of the strange twilight. The quest takes Link and Midna to previously seen locales of Hyrule such as Death Mountain (where Gorons live), Lake Hylia, Zora's River (home of the Zoras), and Gerudo Desert. New places include Snowpeak (home to one of the strangest dungeons I've encountered in a Zelda game) and Link's home of Ordon.

As the game goes on, Link's quest takes new turns and has events that are some of the most epic actions I've ever seen in a Zelda game. While Ocarina of Time was an epic tale overall of how Link, Ganondorf, and Zelda first crossed paths, there are moments in Twilight Princess that seem to be taken directly from The Lord of the Rings. The final battle of the game is also very well constructed and fun to engage in.

The Wii gameplay is amazing. Swinging the Wii Remote to swing Link's sword, pointing the Remote at the screen to aim the bow, and using it as a fishing rod truly bring the player into the game in ways the traditional control system could never attempt. It also allows for a much smoother form of horseback combat than that present in the N64 versions (though it was still difficult). If you have a Wii, I definitely reccomend this version over the Gamecube one (the only downside is a loss of continuity; since Link is usually left-handed, the programmers were afraid that right-handed people, who are the majority, would have trouble using the sword, so they flipped the game around; what this means is that Gerudo Desert is now in the East and Kakariko Village and Death Mountain are now in the West, though in the Hyrule in Ocarina of time, the desert was in the West and Kakariko and Death Mountain were in the East).

I have to say that the only thing that I would change about this game is the inclusion (or lack thereof) of magic. For some reason, even though magic exists, Link does not have a magic meter. Therefore, there are no spells or magic arrows (or green potions), and the Magic Armor, which makes Link invulnerable while wearing it) is powered by rupees, which can be very annoying. Still, aside from the complaint, this is an amazing game. The story is fantastic, the gameplay is top-notch, and the graphics are amazing. This game may not be as good as Ocarina of Time, but it is very, very close.

Honest reviews on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

With the Wii and the new controller, and Nintendo's new ideas about bringing in non-gamers, it's refreshing to see that Nintendo still wants to please the long-time gamers. People that have been fans of this classic franchise should do what they can to get a copy of this game. It proves that Nintendo still has the hardcore gamer in mind, and is still willing to put time and effort into games that will please us.

If you are new to gaming and the Wii is the first console you ever bought, you may find this title to be a pretty intense experience compared to Wii Sports. You may find it to be a little too much for you, though I suggest you give it a try eventually. If you're a hardcore gamer, and better yet a longtime Zelda fan, the game is everything you want.

As far as the Zelda experience goes, as in exploring caves and dungeons and towns and finding numrous items and weapons, Twilight Princess has it all. Lots of things from previous games have been improved upon. There are plenty more dungeons than Wind Waker, and now you can swing your sword while riding your horse, which you couldn't do in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

Much can be said about the story presentation in Twilight Princess. There's definitely been a lot of effort put into the story of Twilight Princess. The graphics are only at a GameCube level, but they look good. Some have reported that it is the darkest and most serious Zelda story made. Personally, I don't think it's that much darker and serious than Majora's Mask. A cloud of twilight overcoming Hyrule, a giant moon crashing into Termina, one does not seem more apocalyptic than the other.

I said the Zelda experience is great in Twilight Princess, but there are also elements to Twilight Princess that are new to the Zelda franchise. The wolf is one. For portions of the game you control Link as a wolf. While I prefer Link in his regular Hylian form, there are cool things about being a wolf. With wolf Link's sense of smell, you can locate and dig up items such as hearts and rupees in the ground. If you're low on either, become a wolf and do some sniffing. Combat is a little clumsy with the wolf, though. Link certainly has less power in his attacks as a wolf than as a Hylian, especially when you obtain more powerful weapons.

There's also the Wii remote control. The Wii remote is great with the projectile weapons and other such aiming devices, like the arrows and the clawshot. It's great to just point at the screen where you want to fire your arrows and take down an enemy. For sword slashing, you swing the remote like you would a sword. The sword controls are the weakest part of the game, as they could have been more immersive. You swing the remote to swing your sword. It doesn't matter how you swing the remote. Whether you swing it left, right, up, or down, Link will always swing in the same combinations. To make a stabbing motion with your sword, you hold forward on the nunchuck control while Z-targetting and swing the remote. You don't actually stab forward with the remote, which makes perfect sense to me, and, in fact, was what I was trying to do for a while. I wasn't expecting the sword control to be 1:1, but they could have made it a little more intuitive than it was. In the end, it would have been easier to just press a button to swing the sword.

The sword is my biggest complaint. A few other minor complaints include the lack of a magic meter and thus any magical attacks, the lack of Octoroks, one of the mainstays of the Zelda franchise, and the battle mechanics, which are kind of a step backward from Wind Waker. I might be in the minority with my opinion here, but Wind Waker's timed parries have been done away with, and I liked how the timing brought in an extra level of concentration. For Twilight Princess, all the parry moves from Wind Waker can be done manually, so long as you learn them. Some gamers may like that they can do those moves whenever they want, but personally I miss the concentration on timing that was involved. Also, in Twilight Princess you cannot pick up enemies' weapons, which was one of my favorite things about Wind Waker.

Overall, the things that make Zelda what it is are all here and in top form. There are plenty of dungeons, challenging puzzles, lots of items and weapons, cool boss fights, and a gigantic overworld to explore.

I also really like Midna. I wondered whether or not it was a good idea to bring a new character into the franchise. We all know how Navi and Tingle turned out, and I was afraid we were seeing the next Tingle in all those trailers. But you don't need to worry about Midna. She is a cool character, and I like the way she develops. She starts out as kind of a punk, who just seems to be using Link for her own purposes, but as the game goes on we see a softer side to her.

I subtract one star from the overall score because I am convinced the sword controls could have been much more immersive than they were, but I had a blast playing this game and it was just a straight run-through, without paying much attention to sidequests and minigames. It took me about forty hours to finish the main quest, so if you play this game totally, you'll have a lot of playing to do. Whether you get this Wii version or the GameCube version is up to you. You may just prefer pressing a button to randomly swinging the remote, but you may feel that the more precise aiming with the pointer makes the Wii version better. It's your choice. But I do recommend you get one or the other.

There are a lot of good aspects and a lot of bad aspects of this highly anticipated launch title for the Nintendo Wii. I'll start with the good and end with the bad and my reasons for only giving this game 4 stars.

The Good:

--The game is HUGE. Once, just for fun, I decided to walk Link at a relaxed gait from one end of the game to the other in order to see how long it would take. I gave up it took so long.

--I'm very glad that Nintendo decided to put a lot of creative energy into the art and look of the game, given the graphical limitations of the Wii. The game is absolutely gorgeous with creative characters and mysterious temples. It's worth it to waste an hour or two and just ride your horse around Hyrule and look at everything.

--Great cinema scenes.

--Wii remote works and is responsive, and really does enhance the experience. But....

The Bad:

--The way the player swings the remote has no bearing on what kind of swing Link does.

--Sword combat with the remote is too easy. It doesn't require a lot of skill. I would say any novice could pick up the remote, Z-lock onto an enemy, start shaking the remote back and forth and defeat a lot of the enemies in the game. After you whack some enemies, they just stand there and sway back and forth, waiting you to whack them some more.

--Along the same lines, bosses are too easy. Very fun and impressive, but too easy.

--Overall, the game feels like an Ocarina of Time on steroids. A lot of parallels to the N64 classic, like places, characters, weapons, dungeons (you have to use Iron Boots and walk at the bottom of a lake to get to the Water Temple again), etc. Some find these parallels nostalgic and cool, but I think they're kinda lame.

What would have made this game the classic that everyone was expecting? In my opinion, Nintendo should have coordinated the movements of the remote with Link's sword swings better--when I slash right, Link slashes right, when I tomahawk swing downward, Link does the same. Ocarina of Time revolutionized video game combat with its Z-Targeting system, and it would have been great if Twilight Princess had a similar breakthrough. Legend of Zelda sword combat has always been very precise, but with this new game, we're left waving the remote willy nilly back and forth, hoping to hit something. An even more immersive sword combat experience would have justified the hype and 5 stars for this game.

Conclusion:

Even though I've emphasized the negatives more than the positives in this review (I'm a pessimist), Twilight Princess is a great gaming experience. Every Wii and Gamecube owner should check it out.

This is a solid basketball bundle for hard-core sporting gamers. The Pros outweigh the Cons, and here they are:

PROS:

>> Superb graphics. I've played all the others (NBA2K2, NBA Live), and these are the best yet. Lay-ins, dunks, crossovers, rebounding, you name it, the XBOX delivers on this.

>> Challenging competition. I'm still a believer the Dreamcast has the best sporting games (and PS2, now that they picked up NFL2K2, NBA2K2, etc.). But even on the "All-Star" Level, I'm able to dessimate the computer on NBA2K2. I have to play buddies in 2-on-2 mode to get some decent competition. Not the case with NBA DRIVE. I'm now on the Veteran Level, and I'm at best a .500 club right now (despite having similar controls, directional passing, etc.). Makes for a more challenging and eventful gaming experience with the computer.

>> Excellent play-by-play analysis. I may be biased on this one, but I'm a big SONICS fan. The voice is Kevin Calabro and Marques Johnson (Sonic play-by-play guys). Calabro gives you a variety of his patented and colorful style. Hasn't got old yet.

>> Easy to learn controls. Microsoft didn't reinvent the wheel on this one, which is a good thing. The controls and method of play mirrors that of NBA2K2. Those of you familiar with that won't have to learn anew.

>> Realistic passing. If you pass into traffic, the ball will be snatched away. NBA2K2 let's you pass into a crowd, the length of the court, etc., and you always find your man. Not entirely the way the game is played, guys.

CONS:

>> Unrealistic rebounding. Even with excellent position, your 7' center isn't guaranteed the board. A little frustrating. Also, there's too many steals during a regulation game.

>> Buzzer beaters. I've lost a couple games to FULL-COURT THREES! Just make sure you're up by three if there's 2.3 seconds to go.

>> No create-a-player. It's fun to create yourself and dunk over Motumbo. Maybe in the next version.

>> Ridiculous blocks. At least 3-4 times during a game, my power forward will slash down the lane, go for a dunk, and there's a clean strip of the ball in mid-air. Yes, very annoying.

Nevertheless, this is the best basketball game out there. The games are sometimes close, sometimes you're blown away, sometimes your guys are hot, sometimes their cold...it's the way a season goes. Challenging game play and sick graphics all make for a notable and superb gaming experience. Now get to it!

I'm almost an exclusive player of sports games, and have played all the major basketball releases. In my book, this is the best one, with NBA2K2 a close second. I'm a previous Dreamcast owner, and I was reluctant to purchase another system (in my opinion, the Dreamcast has the best sporting games). Because Sega now focuses on games (which they excel at), they've all but abandoned their Dreamcast efforts --thus, I had no choice but pick up another system! With more graphic capability than PS2, XBOX was the obvious choice.

NBA Inside Drive CONS:

>>> Rebounding is difficult. I play with the Sonics (my home team). Too many times during the game my opponent's guards will be leaping over the 7' Jerome James. Yes, a little unrealistic and frustrating. At the same time, you can get 20 blocks and 20 steals a game. Not entirely a realistic portrayal of the game here.

>>> No "Create-a-Player" mode. Sure, it's fun to create yourself and go for 40 points against Tracy McGrady.

>>> I've lost a couple close ones at the buzzer...to FULL COURT HAIL-MARIES! All you can do is toss your controller and call B.S. on that.

NBA Inside Drive PROS:

>>> The game is challenging. I can dessimate an opponent on the All-Star level on NBA2K2. As for this game, I'm about a .500 club on only the Veteran Level of this one. Granted, I've just started playing, but the controls and functions are basically the same as 2K2 (i.e., I'm comfortable with the playability). It makes for a much more challenging game playing experience.

>>> The graphics are sick (meaning good). Bodies, faces, lay-ins, alley-oops and dunks. All superb.

>>> The commentary is sharp. Granted, you hear alot of the same things over and over ("Payton with a cork-screw hopper!" Whatever that is.). But you've got the best voice in the game, Seattle's own colorful Kevin Calabro. Hard to complain here.

All in all. The best B-ball game out there. Great eye-candy, and because it's so challenging to win, it is more likely to keep your interest well into a season. Well worth your [money].

Now, don't get me wrong this is not a bad game, the gameplay is very good. But the overall presentations isn't. I would give the actual gameplay 4 stars. Something good about the game is that the one thing that really comforts me and other people is that the controls are identical to the NBA2K series on the Dreamcast. One thing I am wondering and other people are too is why is the game so dark? If the game was brightened the graphics would look a lot more sharp. Also, where is create a player? I mean come on, most basketball games in the last 5 years have had create a player. And another thing, there's no Franchise mode. I mean who doesn't want to create a team that has a dynasty of winning 10 Championships in a row and having the fun of having a players contract run out. The Grapichs in this game are amazing but could have been 4 times as good if the game was brightened. The gameplay in this game is good, but not nearly as fun as NBA2K, NBA2K1, or NBA2K2. NBA INSIDE DRIVE 2002 is a VERY good game according to gameplay and I would consider buying it, but I might wait a while and get NBA2K2 first for the x-box. (I already have it for the dreamcast) What I am about to say is what most people can agree with, NBA Inside Drive 2002 is a good game, but could have been better...the season mode just isn't enough for a solo player and we need more options! NBA INSIDE DRIVE 2002 is better than NBA LIVE 2002, but falls way short of being better than NBA2K2. Hopefully with NBA INSIDE DRIVE 2003 everything will be fixed and maybe the INSIDE DRIVE series could start its own video game franchise being right up there with the 2K and LIVE series.

Honest reviews on NBA Inside Drive 2002

Ok...first thing's first, this is a great game. BUT there are A LOT of things you can not do that makes basketball games better. First thing, no dynasty or franchise mode. Then, you can only do a season, and you cant create a player at all. And at first i dont think i liked the game at all. Because when you are playing, its like you are playing in a dungeon. But that is probably because i had nba live 2002. Then when i got use to it, this game is pretty addictive. game play is realistic as can be. I play basketball for university of delaware, and this game is whats its like actually playin in the game. You cant make dumb passes and rebounding and blocking shots was made to perfection. Unlike in nba live where you can take the ball to the hoop and never get blocked. I suggest renting it and also playing nba 2k2 before spending 50 bucks on it. I mean I thought it was worth the money but thats me. You might spend 50$ and realize its the worst game youve ever played.

Although Drive2002 is a definite step up from Live2002, it still leaves me wondering what is so difficult about getting things right. As Microsoft complains that other third party producers aren't using the x-box to its full capacity for their games, they sell themselves extremely short with Drive2002. True the graphics are better than any other game on the market(still anticipating 2K2 launch on march 1st)but it seems as if every arena has the lights turned off, or maybe we're mearly playing every game,at night in a retractable dome? Also they decided to pay more attention to colorful commentary and post game remarks than instituting a create-player and fantasy option. Overall the game is fun until you start playing on more challenging levels, where jump shooting becomes to difficult for the human brain to comprehend. This is about the time where you start dunking on every play. It is also way to easy to rip ball handelers, alley-oops seem almost forgotten, and passing to the player you want is almost impossible, because the computer would rather you throw a lobbing cross court pass, then to the player next to you for an open dunk(newly added lob feature). The AI is smarter but 2002 NBA rules aren't all implemented in Drive2002(zone defenses). Instead your player can just wander around double teaming anyone you would like him to. Passing lanes are played too well, and can anybody tell me why these game creators can not develop a game where players get out and run with you on a fast break? It always seems like it's a three on one and both of you wing man stop to watch. Hopefully Drive 2002 is just a preview of what the real version of the game will be like in 2003!
