Basically, as far as the game goes, if you've played 2010 or 2011 Tiger Woods, you've played this game. The only real differences are the yearly "gimmick" feature (caddy recommended shots this year), improved graphics and a different course mixture. The caddy feature is golf on training wheels. I'm just going to come out swinging with that. Its kind of unnecessary. You're able to turn it off, and I understand why its there, to help newer players not get so frustrated but I just don't think its very necessary. Game looks great, I won't knock that. It gets better and better looking each year. Also, the gameplay is great, as it always has been for this franchise.

Its just too bad that there is literally no competition in the golf game space on Xbox 360. It might actually force EA to appreciate their customers a little bit more. Regardless of whether you paid $35, $45 or $60 for this game new, you shouldn't be supporting a publishing company that does this to its customers regarding this DLC situation. I'm sorry, but releasing a game 75% complete as a full priced game and then having to buy the remaining parts of the completed game as "DLC" is nothing short of a slap in the face to a loyal fan and there is no justification. Unless you are an absolute diehard fan, with a disposable income willing to shell out over $100 to get the complete experience as it SHOULD HAVE BEEN by buying all these stupid courses they strategically set aside to squeeze more money out, then I would recommend a pass. To give you an idea of what I am talking about, the $60 game you buy has 16 courses total in it. At launch, 19 courses were available as DLC for $50+ And to add insult to injury, these courses appear during your career. You are given the choice to buy the course to play it, or skip that part of your career. These couldn't have been included in the game I just bought, seriously? Or, if it was a disc space issue, as free DLC to the person who just shelled out money to get a new copy of this game instead of grabbing it used from GameStop? Shame on you EA.

I am not purchasing EA products from here on as a result of this year's offering. Its just thrown up a red flag for me that this company is not to be trusted to provide a full and complete game at $60.

Best Tiger Woods I have played in a LONG time. But, seriously, come on. How do you justify charging $50.00 dollars for DLC courses that were done when the game came out? Some courses that you NEED to own in order to play a season.

Think about it that is $110.00 dollars if you want a "complete" game.

It's really unfortunate the developers made such good game and EA SPORTS has to go and screw over everyone who buys the game.

5 stars for Tiburon. 0 stars EA.

Best Deals for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters - Xbox 360

If you expect to get a full game for the $60.00 price, then you should pass on this game. EA has decided to pack this game with "micro-transactions". In past Tiger games, you would have options to purchase additional courses that were separate from the overall game. This was a nice option for some people that wanted to try out some new courses. In this years Masters Edition, they have incorporated several courses into the game that you need to purchase in order to play through the PGA season. You can 'skip' these events, but you will miss out on several events in the PGA season that the CPU players are able to play in. This will be the last Tiger Woods game I purchase until EA gets their act together. This game should not be sold at full price and EA knows it. You would need to pay $100.00 (maybe more) to get the courses that are inlcuded in the regular season events. The way EA is going, I would not be surprised if the next Madden game has you paying to unlock teams, playoffs, or whatever else they can come up with.

Honest reviews on Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters - Xbox 360

The game overall is very good, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. $50 for the game and $50 for the dlc golf courses is ridiculous. I loved this game in the past, but I do not enjoy EA screwing us by charging for the game and charging for the golf courses which are used during the career progression. I think I am finished with EA sports...

Gotta say I love just about every feature of the new Tiger Woods, and I too have played almost all of em.

Obviously Augusta is the huge hook, and I'm looking forward to getting there, but so many other elements are far superior, including:

1. Sponsors -they bring back the sponsor system they abandoned years ago, where winning tournaments allows you to align yourself with a new sponsor and thus a whole new set of clothes & clubs to buy; meaning you actually care when you get prize winnings. Even has individual challenges to unlock 3rd tier sponsors (like Oakley watches, Footjoy gloves, etc).

2. Enhanced graphics engine -just better & better each year.

3. Jim Nantz over that Kelly chick from last year -she wasn't bad, but this is the PGA, not the European tour; I need Nantz.

4. The intertwining of the Sponsor challenges, Pro Challenges (called Training) & the tournaments themselves is so engrossing, it no longer feels like you're playing 3 isolated mini-games like in year's past

5. Q School & earning your Tour Card -just kinda cool to earn your stripes

But despite all that awesomeness, there's one glaring detractor that undermines the entire gaming experience....the Caddy.

The Caddy is there to give you shot advice. This means he lines up 2 shots for you to hit, you pick one, swing, and all skill is instantly removed from the game. When you get to the green, he puts a little circle where you should aim your shot.

This idea belongs aside the Microsoft Office Clippy & Fox's glowing hockey puck as technological insults to our collective intelligence.

To make matters more annoying, the game has a feature where as you get better at courses, your caddy circles & shot ideas become more accurate...meaning that initially his circles are a bit off. Try to keep that in mind when you're trying to line up your putt amid the distraction of a flashing green circle directing you to a putt that will most likely be 6 inches outside the cup.

It's a nice novelty for about half a hole...then you just want him to go away. But you can't. You can silence him via the Audio settings, and you can hit B to make him hang out off camera, and you have the option of picking your own 'custom' shots (custom -like it's outside the box to wanna do more than just move the left stick up & down)...but the shot selection options & the awful putting circle won't go away.

Again, EA did a fantastic job with most of the game, correcting all the errors of the past. Unfortunately they tried to get too cute.

Let Lego release a Tiger Woods game if you want to take the skill out of it. In the meantime, please EA, release a patch that lets us turn the Caddy off...

Bought the KontrolFreek extensions since i have big hands and the xbox controller is small to me. The extensions are great. I am using both styles and both work great.

I've used the KontrolFreeks now for several weeks and have not found them to really be that useful unless you love sniping within your favorite FPS game. I found that my hand and even my wrist were uncomfortable after several hours of gameplay due to the elevated thumbs (These simply sit on top of your existing buttons making them easily 300% taller.) This also is a pain due to the fact that when you're transitioning your thumb to an analog button, the motion take just that much longer... All in all I would not recommend these and certainly would not purchase again.

the most oddly shaped and hard to figure out, its a wast of money. put simply, sucks ass. complicated and poorly designed

Honest reviews on KontrolFreek GamerPack ULTRA

Due to the reviews and knowing my style of aiming in an FPS needed help I thought I would try these.

I was pleasantly surprised, again, for my gaming style in FPS games, such as COD Black Ops 2, BF3 etc..

that it really did calm down the aiming.

Product came as described, delivered on time as stated.

Would recommend to others that are looking to change up their game play in an FPS.

Very cool product!

the steering is great for racing games on the left thumbs stick... but when you play cod or other shooter styles its makes your finger hurt and you cant get used to it... specially when you have to click in order to run.

the extra height on the right thumb is phenomenal for aiming though... it will improve your gaming scores once you get the hang on it.

i recommend for you left thumb some thing made or rubber than just slips on top and doesnt add height but rather surface area... i would not recommend any of the other style KrontrolFreek attachments for the left thumb.

IMO a rubber grip for the left thumb stick is the way to go... except for racing, then the steering one included in this kit works great...

Judge Dredd Dredd vs Death - Xbox
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Judge Dredd vs Death for the Xbox is a first person shooter (FPS) where you play as judge dredd. You might enjoy this game more if you watched and liked the movie or comic book it is based on. As Judge Dread you have authority to arrest, judge and execute criminals. By a simple push of a button serveral times your character will yell out "put your hands where i can see them, or you're under arrest". You push a diffrent button and you will handcuffs them. Most of the times though you have to blast criminals with your gun called the "lawgiver". The lawgiver gun is a small pistol you start out with has serveral firing modes: incinderary, armour piercing, richochet, rapid-fire and single fire. I really enjoyed using this gun because it was easy and fun to use! Later into the game you'll acquire the typical weapons found in most (FPS) like shotguns, sniper rifle, grenades and energy/laser weapons. Most of the levels have you shooting it out with street gangs and members of a crazy cult, but you'll also be shooting at demon-vampire creatures. I really enjoyed the level designs with futuristic cityscape and flying cars and has that cyber-punk look. There are also mini games and extra characters that can be unlocked for multiplayer mode. The problem with the game is that it feels too generic and the character designs have a super deformed look to them. With so many better (FPS)out there, dredd just doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Pros:

+excellent weapons

+excellent level designs

+futuristic cities

+multiplayer game

+unlock bonus goodies

+bloody

+rag-doll physics

+good music

+play offline with BOTS

Cons:

-sluggish controls

-100% linear

-A.I. is dumb

-super deformed charcters design

-weak story

-cheap voice-acting

-you cannot use flying cars

-no usuable vehicles

Love this game. Best Dredd game to date. Bought it after watching the new movie, which was surprisingly good, and brought back memories of playing this. Great buy.

I already beat the PC version and can't stop playing this original Xbox game.

It does work with the Xbox 360; all you have to do is download the compatibility update.

You cannot play it on 360 unless you have more than a 4GB arcade hard drive.

If you try to play it on a Arcade Xbox it says: no hard drive found.

Many hours of entertainment. The walls and scenery are a little glitchy, but same goes for the PC game.

You will have to just ignore the seldom invisible walls and flickering backgrounds.

LOVE THIS GAME!

I love this game, I have it for xbox and PC. It is dated, but your Judge Freaking Dredd. Blow them away or send them away. Also a good game is Robo COP. also dated, but thier is a lot of fun in the older games, I just finished The Thing, Star Trek Elite Force 1 and 2, also great games. I know what your thinking, Crysis 2 is the bomb. But Dredd holds his own, and some times, its finding all the extra stuff in the games.

I purchased this headset as soon as it was available from Amazon. I have been using this headset daily since and it works and looks great. I have been using this headset for my Xbox 360 (party chats while gaming), my PS3 (also used for chatting while gaming) and I also have it synced to my Iphone 4 (used for listening to my music & calls). The style of it is nice and shiny (prone to fingerprints through) and feels comfortable (comes with different size ear pieces). I was constantly asking people about the sound quality on their end to make sure i came through clear and loud, which i did. On my end everyone sounded the same. The buttons on this headset feel nice and respond well and the ability to switch from bluetooth to xbox is done with a simple flick of a button. I was using it for my phone quite often until i have to admit I felt like a weirdo wearing it all the time in public (i never really been a fan of headsets for cell phones) and it does say xbox 360 on the side of it, wish it didn't but not a big deal and I really purchased this for my xbox and PS3. I also do own the original wireless headset and feel like both are great headsets. In my opinion if you are looking for a wireless headset this is the way to go. A couple more dollars than the original one but you can use it for everything. I rated this headset a 4 instead of a 5 because I have had some problems with it acting weired if I had wanted to run upstairs to grab something from the kitchen (I game in my basement) it would cut out or people wouldn't hear me, might be because i went out of range then back in? But after turning it off and on real quick that would solve the problem. Hope this review helps!

After reading all the reviews on this item from various sites, I decided to buy it because there were mixed reviews. The xbox 360 Wireless headset with bluetooth is good or bad depending on your qualifications of being good. The good and bad reviews that I have read have completely different sides to the same thing. For example, the sound is great and the sound is horrible. This is what I dislike about reviews, because they are opinionated

Before I used the product, I read the manual paper they gave. I also charged it before use because that is what it told me to do. Reading is fundamental.

I am not a professional reviewer so this is my opinion on what people should think about and expect to see when they purchase this product.

The Headset Overall

I think this is a good product and know that there are things that people will be very picky about. One thing is the sound. The sound is different than you are used to, of course. It's because it is a different type of headset. The sound is something you have to experience and see for yourself. It may take getting used to, but will work out if you believe in it. If all fails, return it.

People say there is a buzzing or slight static noise coming from the earpiece. There is, however, it is so slight, you could only hear it when you are in a quiet place. I walked into my garage and tested this, and there is that little, tiny static noise that people will hate this mic for. I, for one, do not notice the sound unless I really concentrate on it. That, you must also try for yourself. I don't think it's very troublesome because as I play my games, people are talking and communicating and when on bluetooth, the other persons phone will pick up their background noise therefore you hear it and that static will be replaced with the persons voice or background noise. Every once and a while, there is also a little small beep or something that makes it sound like it idled or disconnected and reconnected which is weird or is just the cutting out of other talkers.

The mic has a weird feel to it. The earpiece is on your ear, and is a piece of plastic, but isn't a problem to me. The earpiece on the other hand, has a unique feel. I am using the smallest rubber piece because the others were quite big for my ear. The feel on your ear is different. There are little things that bother me when using it. One is the plastic piece that you connect to the headset. There was a little piece of plastic that was around the loop that poked my ear, so I filled it down slightly. Now when the earpiece is in your ear, it's not all the way in your ear. It is slightly in your ear. It feels like it is hanging a little bit, but when I shake my head it does not come off at all. Once again, you need to experience it for yourself to see if you like it or not. It may take a little getting used to.

The mute button is a pain too. When you press it, it pushes the earpiece and it kind of hurts. Really annoying.

[Update 4/6/12: The mute button can be pressed directly, which made it poke my ear, and indirectly, which doesn't hurt at all. Instead of pressing the center of the button, you can press lower or higher to mute or use the "action" button on bluethooth. Took me a while, but it makes a difference.]

XBOX 360 CHAT

Xbox 360 Chat is different in party chat and game chat. Different games have different chat in which the sound is slightly different, but this is for party chat.

Now for the mic. Since the mic is right next to your cheek, there are limits to what it picks up. For example, I tested what this headset picks up by joining my friends XBL party. I told him to repeat everything I said. In this experiment I found that it has a strange way of picking things up. When I whisper, the headset picks it up. Screaming will not be screaming, but rather talking loud and sounding like you are farther away from your headset because it's next to your cheek. When I speak in a really-moderately soft voice with no bass in my voice, it does not pick it up. That is what I dislike most about the headset, but only if I'm trying to talk soft due to people sleeping, which I don't anyways.

For the people on the other end, they hear you as softer than you were when you were using a wired basic microsoft wired headset. You are heard like you are further away from your mic when people hear you, but it doesn't seem to bother people. When you talk though, there is feedback from the background. What I was told was that there was the sound of air after I spoke, but stopped withing milliseconds when I stopped talking. That may be a setback because if you're playing loud music or you have a sound system, it may bother people.

BLUETOOTH

Bluetooth is a great idea for this headset and might have some flaws in it as well

When speaking through the headset to another caller, you sound different, just like you were when on xbox. You sound further away, but they can still hear you fine. I haven't experienced much with the Bluetooth yet, but it is relatively the same as when you're on Xbox Live.

The sound quality is pretty good for me. I tested it on my voice mail, which I recommend everyone to do. The automated part is quite loud, but the voice message that a person left is on the slight soft side. In a call, the sound is good, if adjustment are needed, use the volume. I found that the volume is better at a medium to high volume for the best sound, but for the low volume, it may sound fuzzy.

I played music on the xbox 360 headset with bluetooth from my phone. It sounds the same as you were if you were using headphones or earphones to me. Just adjust the volume as necessary.

Overall

This mic cannot be judged on any one person or even in several reviews. I read reviews that are good and bad and I couldn't find a moderate review explaining why it is good or bad, so I decided to write one for myself to try and explain my experience. If you are reading this review, this is what I have experienced and if you decided to purchase this product, you may have a different experience when using it.

If you have any questions, just ask and I'll try to answer to the best of my abilities.

UPDATE 12/12/12: So it has been about a year now and the headset seems to be working just fine. I have noticed that if I walk far away enough from my Xbox, the mic would disconnect and sometimes the people in my party would hear a loud screeching noise. When that happens, they tell me and i turn my headset off and then on again.

I have switched to the new SLIM Xbox. When I did so, I noticed a static noise. This is the same static noise that I heard before when I walked into my garage or whatnot. The static noise is more noticeable now. It might be because I transferred from one system to another but I don't know. The static is more noticeable when you initially turn it on and no one is talking to you, but you forget about it during your gaming experience.

Battery life on this headset is still superb. I use it daily so it dies every day. I play on average about 9 hours a day on and off. After around 8 hours, the mic will make a single notification notifying you it is running low on battery power, having roughly 20-30 minute left. After a certain amount of time, it begins to beep constantly. Maybe every 10 seconds, which is very annoying. That beep or noise is telling you that you need to charge it. I turn it off and charge it immediately because the sound is quite irritating. It takes about an hour or two to fully recharge again.

The headset might be dying on me though. In some instances, I walk too far from my Xbox and does the disconnect thing and the headset won't reconnect. I try to sync it to my Xbox and it still doesn't work. I plug it in the charger and wait for it to fully charge again and turn it on. Then it starts to work, sometimes. To avoid this, just put your headset down if you are going to walk to a place that is too far from your Xbox or has walls that the signal cannot get across.

All in all, since the price dropped $30 since I bought this headset, I would definitely buy it again. I would have two, so if one runs out of batteries, I have a spare.

If you are looking to try it out, go for it. The worst that can happen is you going back and returning it.

Best Deals for Xbox 360 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth

Love the fact that you can chat with your buddies on Xbox and switch over to receive calls from your phone. Battery life is excellent. Before I used it for the first time, I charged it for 2 hours and after that, I have been using it for two weeks now without charging. Of course it helps if you turn it off when you're not using it. It's also very easy to setup and sync with your devices just like any bluetooth. I have had many bluetooths before and have never used them as much as I use this one. Invest in one!

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth

I am reading the other reviews and people are complaining about things that I have yet to encounter. Let me focus on what people are saying. As for it being uncomfortable, I actually find it to be very comfortable. I didnt bother switching the ear bud size because the one it came with fit perfect. The little loop that goes around your ear doesn't bother me at all. Ive been playing borderlands 2 for.... should I dare say... 5+ hours :o haha but it didnt bother me at all. Just like all other ear buds, if you do wear it for a long time your ear will get uncomfortable although mine hasn't... so keep that in mind. People are complaining about there not being a separate cable or attachment to switch to Bluetooth, people its on the freaking earpiece itself and literally takes less then a second to switch it to Bluetooth.... -____I find that the volume is perfect, its crystal clear and I hear no buzzing noise whatsoever. Turning it up or down is easy and you can hear if its going up or down. The mute button is on the actual front side and you must push it in (towards your ear) It doesnt hurt at all, you dont need to push it hard, just a simple click. One thing that I absolutely love about the mute feature on this is that when you have your mic muted, it actually beeps every 3 minutes reminding you that its muted. With other mics I get so into the game I forget to un-mute and end up talking to myself for a while until i figure it out haha. Turning it on it a synch and switching from player 1-4 is super super easy, one press of the button and there you go, no switching controllers or signing out of accounts and re-signing back in. There is one things that I have come to notice that is a little off with the device and thats the fact that it will sometimes randomly get choppy. Its happened twice so far and its as easy as holding the power button and turning it back on (takes like 3 seconds for this process) Over all im incredibly pleased with this Xbox 360 wireless mic/Bluetooth!

We own both Xbox 360 Scene it? games. I have been a fan of the previous edition, and was excited to see a new version available with new puzzles. The thing I like about this series of games for the 360 is that the game flows well, compared to the traditional DVD-based game, and the scoring is a lot of fun. You can see where you or your team stands against your opponents in real time. The bonus scoring is fun as well. This edition (Scene it? Box Office Smash) adds an interesting element of in-game avatars that represent each player/team on screen. If you have an avatar set up on your Live account, that is who you see representing yourself in-game. The new challenges and game types are fun and are a nice addition to the previous version of the game. If you don't have the special Scene it? controllers, I would highly recommend purchasing the package deal that includes the controllers. Especially if you plan to play with "newbies".

Review of Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus

Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

Phantasy Star Universe had a few flaring flaws in the original title: a lackluster storyline, heavy loss-rates for items and repetitive hack-and-slash gameplay. But they made up for it.

PSU AoI introduces several new features, mainly nostalgia relating back to Phantasy Star Online. The addition of PSO based clothing, areas, and timed-hits bring back what made PSO fun, and expands on it. Unfortunately, they did not fix the ratty ally AI, nor did they make it any less cheap with traps or enemies that seem just a tad faster. But the game is still fun, and the flexibility in weapons, clothing and hairstyles they have added make your Guardian completely customizable. I recommend only buying this if you play online, since that is part of the charm of the series.

Offline play does have its merits, even though the story is a carbon copy of Online's Episode 2. Also, it would've been more fun to be able to remodel your room and add more objects like in online play, but it is still solid.

Overall, I enjoyed it, and it is worth checking out, especially online.

If you enjoyed Phantasy Star Online for Gamecube/PC/Dreamcast you'll enjoy this game as well. The only issue is that the servers are no longer around, so the game is rather short. Since you can transfer your character data from the first game, this expansion adds a couple more hours of play time and a lot of new items and quests to do and you can start out from where you left off in the previous game.

I originally started playing PSO with my brother on Nintendo Gamecube and I'm amazed at the similarities. I have heard that in PSU the user was unable to modify their character for story mode, which I've always really enjoyed, and I'm glad to this game does. In addition, the game is great and addicting :O) I'm glad I purchased this from Amazon and I couldn't ask for a better result at a great price!

Thanks!!

The premise behind NFS: Most Wanted is this: In Fairhaven City, there are 10 drivers who are the "Most Wanted". Take them down, you get their car. The goal: Become the most wanted driver in Fairhaven City.

Ok, so the story's lame, but you didn't have one at all in Burnout Paradise either. That's not really important to racing fans, as one look at NFS: The Run's reviews will tell you. What DOES matter are the cars, how do they control, modes available, upgrading possibilities, and multiplayer. Again, this is a review in process, so I can address all of these outside of multiplayer at this time.

It's really hard to pin down the driving controls in this game at this early stage. We're not talking Gran Turismo level of difficulty, but it's also not as easy as the original Burnout Paradise, or even Blur. Think the controls in Ridge Racer Unbounded, but MUCH less touchy, and you're getting in the right ballpark. My best guess: If you're familiar and have played the NFS series, you'll be at home here.

As for the cars, no more going through ranks 1-20 to unlock. Every car in the game is available at the start. Now the danger of this, of course, is that you'll find one you fall in love with and really have no need/desire to find all the rest (Why would you bother with the Delta Lancia when you can drive/upgrade a Porsche, for example)? All you have to do is look for the cars with an badge above them, choose the car and it's yours to drive. It's definitely a step in the right direction away from what a "typical" racing game would force you to do (aKa Gran Turismo, forcing you to grind for money to buy them).

As far as single player is concerned, I am a little worried that the modes are a little on the bare side. The various events in Burnout Paradise were diversified and had cars to match them. In NFS: Most Wanted, it's pretty much limited to races, evading the cops and maintaining a certain speed through the course. In short, it's got the potential to get old in a hurry. However, you'll probably be too busy seeing if you're beating your friends, smashing billboards and the like to be worrying about that.

Each car gives you the ability to upgrade various functions, such as tires, transmission, boost, etc. This is done by earning Speed Points, which you pretty much earn doing anything in the game. Now of course, for the completionists (like me), it will be fun going through and upgrading every car fully, giving an vast array of options for attacking different races (example: lightweight chassis give you more speed and are better for fast races, but suck when trying to go against the cops. Off road tires help you on those races, but you lose grip on pavement, etc). It'll be fun seeing online who gets the perfect combinations to set the best times.

And for now, that's it. As I get experience in Multiplayer, I will update my review, but it definitely seems to be at least as good as Burnout Paradise's, which is a testimony as to why there is still a good online community existing in that game 3 years after release.

Bottom line: NFS:MW takes it place alongside the other racers on the PS3 (GT5, Burnout Paradise and NFS:HP) as the best you can buy. There is an incredible amount of depth and layers in this game to unwrap and discover. Criterion, you did it again!

**UPDATE #1 31 October 2012**

Multiplayer is definitely as diverse as in Burnout Paradise if not moreso, given that many of the cars (including the ones you receive from pre-ordering) are only able to be used in Multiplayer. Players who invest the time in the various races/race layouts with the proper cars/mods will have a definitive, FAIR advantage over those who do not, but given the chaos that is traffic in this game, there's a chance a person ending up in last can still make up ground for a good finish. Outside of the racing events, there are also ones that involve getting away from the cops (wreck your friend=them getting busted and disowning you) as well as who can drift the most, get the most air, break the most billboards, etc. in a certain time frame. While the single player, for those who dump a ton of time into it and find their favorite cars, probably has a short life span, when you start talking about multiplayer, and get a few friends who have this game, and the replay value goes through the roof as you try to "top" your friends to be the "Most Wanted".

If anything, multiplayer has reinforced my opinion that this quite simply is one of the best racers on the PS3, the best one released in 2012, and deserves your purchase.

***Update #2 10/31/2012

I'm seeing some questions about how this compares to NFS:Hot Pursuit. Keep in mind, Criterion's goal was to make this game a "spiritial" successor to Burnout Paradise (released in 2009). In terms of gameplay, NFS:HP and NFS:MW are different in terms of modes as well as scope (open world, explore at your leisure vs. rigid routes), but similiar in that you can wreck the cops when you are being pursued. The cops will use spike strips and roadblocks, no EMP or helicopters that I've seen. Your cars do have "mods" which can offset the roadblocks and spike strips (much like you had in HP for the racer). Online is much deeper IMHO vs. Hot Pursuit, even when you consider the DLC that EA/Criterion have released over the life of NFS:HP.

My verdict is NFS:MW will ultimately be much deeper and have more replay value then NFS:HP. But both are OUTSTANDING games in their own aspects.

Also, in another simularity to NFS:HP, NFS:MW will allow you to utilize your own soundtrack that you have on your PS3. I think you'll definitely want this as there's nothing memorable about the soundtrack I've heard so far from the game, and some of them are downright annoying. Why ALL racing games don't have this as an option I have no idea. It definitely enhances the enjoyment of the title!

This need for speed is not like the previous most wanted. No visual car customization, no buying cars, and especially, no story line whatsoever. And no hood view for the cars. I dont know if this is just me or any one else but i hate bumper and 3rd person view and thats all there is. I loved the hood view from the previous most wanted. Is it that hard to put it into a game?

My grandson loves games like this.; He requested this particular game for Christmas. Think he was pretty happy to get it. He will have a lot of fun with it.

Honest reviews on Need for Speed Most Wanted - Playstation 3

Apparently when you buy this game, there are really cool cars that you cannot unlock unless you pay extra for it! Like in-app purchase. For $60, I was expecting to get everything this game has to offer, and not half of the game or even 3/4 of it.

This game is really fun if you like CONSTANT crash cutscenes. Every time you bump a car, guard rail, or pole, you will have to watch a 10 second scene of your car crashing. Often times, you will come out of one of the crash scenes to find that the game has placed you directly behind another vehicle which causes you to crash yet again. This is the most annoying thing about the game and really characterizes the game for me.

For fans of the original Most Wanted, this game is disappointing. The game has a similar premise, but they have removed the storyline, customization, manual transmission, exciting pursuits, and the ability to plow through roadblocks. The graphics of the game are incredible, but the gameplay is lacking. The cars do not handle well at all. Unlike the original, hitting roadblocks now causes, you guessed it, a crash scene that stops your car in its tracks. Lastly, the game is very easy. I was the #1 Most Wanted racer before I had taken down Most Wanted #6-10. I got enough points to be first simply by tricking out a few cars; speaking of which, all of the cars are available from the start and races unlock performance upgrades. The Most Wanted races are very easy; in fact, they are easier than the races required to unlock car upgrades.

Multiplayer is no fun whatsoever; I give multiplayer a 1 out of 5 rating. You are placed in the open world with other racers. The game will randomly select events and races for you. Some of the events it chooses make little sense and are very repetitive.

Overall, this game is fun, but it is also VERY frustrating. I would recommend this game to people, but I want them to know that this game is not the original. The graphics are really the only improvement to the original; the other changes made to the game are a major downgrade.

SUMMARY:

Pros:

Beautiful graphics

Large, open world

Large selection of cars

Cons:

Lack of customization

Crash scenes

Repetitive races (many of the races for each car are exactly the same)

Lackluster pursuits

No penalty for being busted by the cops

Easy and short

It's easy to see the flaws in this game. And it's easy to be less than thrilled by the And1 commercialization that has occurred in the few years of its popularity. But honestly, I've played this game more than any of the other XBOX games I have. It's just fun. Here's the cons:

1) The controls can be intimidating and until you get them can be frustrating; but once you get them, it's easy to pull off the moves you want.

2) Some technical flaws (dunking the basketball nowhere near the rim..and I mean dunking, not taking off). This happens about once per game but I can live with that since there are so many animations that go on.

3) Lack of alley-oop animations...you can alley-oop like crazy and it's a lot of fun, but there's only about three alley-oop animations which is a bit of a buzz kill...where's the behind the head alley-oop and the under the leg alley-oop?

4) Graphics are less than spectacular. Though the animations run the gambit from excellent to disappointing depending on the moves.

5) The story mode is below average. I play it mainly for the quick games and multiplayer...I try to beat my highest trick points score, etc. Just for the fun of the gameplay...

Well, with so many cons, why did I give it 4 stars?

THE PROS:

1) Large variety of moves

2) Lots of blocks once you get the timing down

3) You can put in your own soundtracks (nothing like playing streetball to a Megadeth and Pantera background music...)

4) Create-a-player is pretty good.

5) Create-a-move could have been better but does give you a lot of options, too bad they ALL have to end in dunks.

6) Just plain fun; you can pick it up for 20 minutes and play a game and see some flashy moves and dunks and don't have to worry about salary caps, injuries, coaching, etc, like in most simulation basketball games. However, all the moves are real so it's not over-the-top like NBA Street.

Overall, if you like AND1 you'll like this game; if you enjoyed Street Hoops, but were disappointed in the execution you'll like this game. If you hate Streetball or only like NBA or College games, this ain't for you. You might want to play it first before buying but I highly recommend giving it a chance. I hope they make a sequel in the future where they fix the flaws and add some better graphics, more alley-oops, etc.

My suggestion, skip the story mode, get a cheat code from online for the $1,000,000. Create a bunch of cool players. Ball against the computer or your friends.. Story mode is lacking but you have to play through it to unlock the moves and players...boo...but it's not too hard so it's worth it.

Have fun!

I'm very familiar with the Splinter Cell universe as found on the PC, having played all more than once (never played a console version).

Of these three, Chaos Theory is considered the best and I would mostly agree. The original, however, is what made the series what it is. Pandora is still quite good and worth finishing.

These ports ended up being FAR better than I expected based on reading the dismal reviews of performance before it was officially released. I kept on waiting for serious lag issues, long load times, poor graphics and optimization (and other 'issues') anything that detracted from the SC experience. Didn't find anything truly worthy of complaint and I was waiting to complain and put the disc away for a hopeful future patch.

I was preparing myself for utter disappointment again based solely on the multiple poor reviews before this PS3 trilogy was released and found myself very satisfied with the controls, graphics, and overall performance.

Are there issues that can be annoying? Sure. They are, truly, minor. The authentic gameplay of the Splinter Cell series can still be had with these three. I didn't think I'd be able to say that before I played them.

I do not care whatsoever for multiplayer. If the single-player experience is not what you're looking for, then this PS3 version of SC is not for you.

I've played more than a few so-called 'lazy ports'. This is not one of them. In the end, these three titles are absolutely worthy of playing on the PS3 (especially if you do not have the PC version).

This is my first review, I apologize if there are spelling and grammatical errors in the review. I wrote this review because of all the low stars that is has received undeservingly.

The trilogy comes with the first 3 games in the series. Since there are 3 games, I will divide this review into three sections. All 3 control very well and the controls are very fluid. The analog controls can not be inverted. According to Ubisoft the games are ported from the PC versions. The first 2 games the PC versions were the only ones where you could save at any point in the games and not have to get to a check point.

Splinter Cell:

Some of the cut scenes lag for about a second here and there, but you barely notice it. the lip sinking is a little of. Some of the textures are miss colored, part of Sam's hair is brown and black and you could see a square on his head, you only notice it if you look for it. When you get close to certain objects and wall you will notice some pixelation, but it is an older game. The game itself has more lighting than the original, occasionally you stand in an area that was bitch black in the original, but here is maybe visible, your meter will show that it is dark, you will go further in the level, turn around and come back and it will be dark like the original, again doesn't detract from the game. Even though there are some graphical deficiencies, there are also improvements, when I played it on PC I thought Sam's clothing was solid black, but here I can see a dark camo pattern. Visually the game is very crisp fps is at 60 or very close to it as far as I can see. There are several PC versions of this game, ones that have 2 extra levels that were exclusive to the PS2 version and the original release that didn't have them, this trilogy does not have those 2 extra levels as far as I can see.

Pandora Tomorrow:

Pretty much like the first, controls are good, has more lighting. The cut scenes do not have lag, or I did not notice it. Textures are better handled than the first game. Crisp graphics and fps is at or close to 60 as far as I could tell. Lip sinking is better in this one. Textures are better handled as well.

Chaos Theory:

Just like the first 2 games, controls are good and graphics are good. I never played this game on the PC, I played it on the PS2, so it is better than the PS2 version, but cannot compare it to the PC version since this version was ported from there. Overall game plays well.

I mostly reviewed the first game and didn't think it was necessary to repeat most of the information for the other 2 games. All games have there own trophy set, so there are 3 platinum trophies to get. Each game has its own save file, the saves are not locked, so you can copy them onto your flash drive. So far the game is relatively bug free. I prefer there version over the originals, they also brig back fond memories of when I played them originally. Hope you find this review useful, FYI I do not regret paying full price for this collection, I believe it was worth it.

Product: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD PS3

To begin, I never played these games when they were originally released, this High Definition re-release is my first encounter with these games, and therefore, I will not be comparing them to their original releases. Also, I want to be clear that I really enjoyed these games, they were a lot of fun to play and I found them extremely rewarding. That being said, this review will not focus on my personal opinion of the games as far as game play goes, I will be focusing on the presentation of the product as an entry into the High Definition format.

Splinter CellIn-game rendering was decently crisp and smooth, surfaces were nice and clear, the lighting effects presented a bold contrast in the environments, and overall, from a visual standpoint, I thought the game looked good.

The cut-scenes are a different story; these did not look like they were treated with tender loving care. Cut-scenes really make this game show its age. The news broadcasts that feature throughout the game have an almost cartoonish quality; the broadcaster's faces almost bringing to mind "the uncanny valley", stuff of nightmares. The cut-scenes that feature the primary cast in conjunction with the main story look especially bad, they seem stretched and over dark, and overall un-updated. The characters movements within the cut-scenes seem stilted and robotic, and surfaces and objects come to sharp triangular points. Lip synching is basically mouths opening and closing without rhythm while the dialogue plays.

While the game looks good (while playing), it suffers from occasional hiccups and freezing. From what I could observe it seems that whenever the player character passes over an in game scripted event point the game stutters dramatically: with NPC's dialogue becoming jilted and echoed and the frame rate taking a nose dive. Also, occasionally throughout the game I experienced a seemingly random freeze that would stop all visuals, allow no player control, yet, maintain the sound of the game. This happened to me two or three times and lasted for about seven to ten seconds. It was annoying but didn't directly affect game play.

Ultimately, though the games visuals are nothing to write home about and the cut-scenes are cringe worthy, none of theses things drastically impeded upon my playing of the game.

Pandora TomorrowThe opening cinematic sequence looked good, a lot better than any of the cut-scenes from Splinter Cell. It definitely gave me high hopes for the game, and overall (visually anyhow) the game looks pretty good, comparable or better than Splinter Cell. I thought that there were some environments that really looked spectacular with the lighting effects, to the point where I'd stop and just pan the camera around to take it all in.

HOWEVER! Unlike Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow had a host of in game freezes, stutters and frame rate slowing that was so bad it completely compromised the game for me. Right from the first level I was plagued with a half second visual and audio hiccup every couple of seconds that served to completely derail my enjoyment and emersion in the game. The only time throughout the entire game that this constant problem was not quite so constant was in levels that were predominantly indoors, and had only basic lighting effects. Which is a real shame, because the outdoor levels juxtaposed with the lighting used in them would really have been nice to enjoy without having the game stutter-stop every five seconds. The games issues hindered my playing at various points throughout; one issue was that when I'd equip a gun, aim and fire it there would be about a quarter to half a second before the action was translated on screen. In a similar vain controls overall were sluggish: if I had to equip a weapon, fire it and than un-equip it all very rapidly in order to avoid immediate detection or death, fifty percent of the time I was being forced to double press buttons and more than likely failing in whatever endeavor I was attempting. The freezing in Pandora Tomorrow was quite a bit worse than it was in Splinter Cell, while it was more frequent there was also a situation where I had to execute a complete system restart, re-load the game and find out that my last save had been compromised. I also encountered a strange issue where guards were stuck in a strange loop and would just jostle back and forth like a machine unable to complete a circuitous movement, and when they'd move they'd glide across the ground without moving their legs, it was very creepy, reminded me of a movie ghost or something. Dialogue in the game was at times almost indecipherable, dialogue would occasionally coincide with a stutter-stop and frame rate drop and the whole conversation would sound as though it was recorded in an echo chamber, every word of dialogue being repeated two or three times.

Although the opening cut-scene gave me high hopes for the in game cut-scenes, Pandora Tomorrow showcases cut-scenes which are not noticeably any better than those presented on Splinter cell.

Although I did play all the way through Pandora Tomorrow, there were a multitude of instances where I genuinely asked myself if playing through this game was worth the frustration all of its issues caused me. The one minor caveat to what I've written on the topic of Pandora Tomorrow in HD is that it is a stealth game, and therefore is a game of patience and slow stealth, which frame rate drops and freezing will hinder the playing of only so much. What I mean to say is that were this game a fast paced shooter I don't know that I would have been capable of finishing it; Pandora Tomorrow is (fortunately for itself) a slow paced, methodical game and can almost excuse the hiccups, as far as basic game play is concerned. Though that far from excuses it.

Chaos TheoryThis game looks a lot sharper than either Splinter Cell or Pandora Tomorrow, light glistens off of surfaces, textures have distinct dimension and there's a real beauty to the environments and the various colors permeating through the layered lighting. The cut-scenes look better as well, though I wouldn't particularly high-light them as any artistic gem: they're better than cut-scenes that I'd describe as bad, which doesn't make them good.

Similar to Pandora tomorrow I again experienced lag during various points throughout the game, glaring pauses in video while the sound still plays, disjointed dialogue that cuts in and out and, in some areas, repetitive looping stutters in the game. These looping stutters were especially irritating as they'd significantly distract from the action going on during the game.

Most of the major issues in Chaos Theory (and the other two as well, really) appeared to be connected in some way to the sound. For instance the first level in the game features an ocean beach front, and at various points throughout the mission the sound of the break of the waves would coincide with a dramatic lag and stutter in the game, both of video and audio. Other similar issues would occur while NPC dialogue was occurring, either enemies or the support team radio conversations. And in both instances it became an insistent skipping that not only was irritating but at times really pulled me out of the game and interrupted the story and flow of "need to know" information.

SummarySo to summarize, these games really could have been presented better, the host of consistent glitches serves only to deride the game play and can make a game that some have describe as a tedious dance of trial and error into a frustrating mess. Than again I was able to play all the games through to their conclusions, and though the issues mentioned were annoying I found the games rewarding enough to ignore the problems and trudge forward. Pandora Tomorrow is far and away (from my experience) the worst port of the three, Splinter Cell would come out in the middle and Chaos Theory would be the standout. If you were looking for the ultimate Splinter Cell collection brought to the High Definition format this product may disappoint. But if you could care less about presentation, only want to play the games and can ignore some glaring software issues, than for the price offered, you may give it a whirl.

(Also, there are no extras on these games. You get the three games with added trophy support. For whatever reason the multi-player component from Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory was excluded)

Honest reviews on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD - Playstation 3

there are a few tiny gripes...like quitting the game to ps3 main screen to choose between the 3 titles being an example but it is offset by things like being able to quick save in the self titled original and pandora tomorrow. chances are if you are looking at this you already liked the splinter cell series or the double agent title that came out on the ps3. in my opinion, these are by far superior games to that. the updated graphics don't look as good as the brand new titles that come out nowadays, but is a nice upgraded presentation to say the least. i played these games on original xbox when they first came out and it feels so good to be able to play them on the ps3, all 3 original titles on 1 disc, and play through the story line(s). if you're feeling nostalgic or just want to see where and how it all began, can't go wrong here.

Okay, so back in the olden times of the PS2, Splinter Cell was the game to play. For me anyway. My sons and I would take turns running the awesome Sam Fisher through his paces. We progressed through all three games and played them over and over. When this trilogy came out, I had to have it. But as with all things I buy on Amazon, or anywhere else for that matter, I read reviews to see what other people have to say about it. They run the gamut from "this is a great games you must buy this games it is great to have" (written by a 12 year old evidently) to people who complain about the lack of new graphics to people like me, who play a nostalgic game and love it for what it is. And that is what I hope this review is going to be about. As a short aside, I have to question my reasoning for caring what other people think. Opinions are just a different point of view, and don't always line up with yours. I can't tell you how many times I've been watching a movie, hop on IMDB to read the reviews and start noticing the little picky things people are carping about. It tends to ruin what could possibly be a good movie. The same, I'm afraid almost happened with this game. But I digress. The original title, "Splinter Cell" starts you out as a newly hired Sam Fisher going through his paces in the training gound of the CIA. Right away I noticed new and better graphics, different rooms and lighting and such. But, consider that this was a game originally created to be played on a PS2. So the cut-scenes reflect this. The second title, Pandora Tomorrow is better graphically, with the same subtle changes I noticed in the first title. And Chaos Theory, my person favorite of the three, is a big improvement over what I played on the PS2. Better graphics, sound, and general gameplay. So all that being said, I'm not going to tell you "you must buy this games it is the best games in the world I play it twenty-four hours a day" because I'm a grown man with the ability to better express myself. So I'll break it down as succinctly as I can.

Pros:

If you enjoyed playing the originals on your PS2, you'll have fun reliving all the fun and stealthiness on your PS3. Most of the reviews I've read I feel are overly critical and don't really reflect what I see.

THREE games on one disc (you can skip from game to game if you want, or have ADD)

The graphics ARE updated and what Ubisoft did update they did well but subtley but enough to make the game fresher.

Sam Fisher is just a bada$$

Cons:

When you first put the disc in, there are some downloads and software that needs to be pulled off the disc and onto your hardrive. That was only a problem for me because I was so excited to get to playing.

Shipping was lightning fast and arrived a good two days before the shipper said it would.

Do you like beautiful women? Do you like beautiful women in bikinis? Do you like beautiful women in bikinis wielding awesome swords? Do you like these beautiful women wearing bikinis wielding awesome swords running around killing zombies??! If you said yes to any of the above combinations, I highly recommend you purchase this game. (And yes, I'm aware these people are animated and not real, but if you can't understand my point... well then, maybe you shouldn't play video games in general... or watch animated films... or look at art...)

Meet Aya and Saki, these scantily clad sisters have a problem on their hands. There are zombies outside, so what is the first thing they do? They put on their bikinis, grab their swords and go on a killing rampage! This is definitely everything I expected this game to be! Still not sure why Aya insisted on the huge cowboy hat to complete her outfit... but oh well.

My review is pretty detailed so I'll do a quick breakdown of the pro's and con's. If you want to read the details on why I say this, continue reading!

Pro's:

+Co-op

+Large level design

+Characters can level up

+Characters can use more impressive looking combos in higher levels

+Free Play Mode

+Dress Up Mode: (Characters can run around in their underwear if you want them to)

+Maps are large and well developed

+Interactive load screen

+Unlockable items: (Even new characters!)

Con's:

-Split screen on y-axis

-Game dialogue in Japanese and have to read subtitles

-Camera rotation is a bit slow

-Incredibly uninformative instruction manual, resulting in long review writing

I'll admit, this game could have gone either way for me. The developer could have either screwed this thing up royally or they would generate one of the more randomly fun games released this year. My girlfriend and I sat down to play this game yesterday when it came in and we spent hours playing it. It really is a fun game and I was pleased to see it had co-op. Well it's a fun game if you're not a prude and lament the fact the girls wouldn't be running around like that in real life during this situation. Or if you can get beyond an attitude about objectifying women in video games, etc... then you might actually have some fun with this game.

As we got used to the controls I started to enjoy the game mechanics a little bit more. At first I was pretty mad we couldn't do any kinds of combos that looked really cool, but that's just because you need to level up your character! Yes this game has a leveling up mechanism that is actually pretty good. It looks like you can play this game for a long time without even getting close to completing everything. We've only made it to level 7 in the game and our characters are already at level 12 and we've barely touched getting the bars filled up, so I imagine there is the ability to level a lot.

So far I really liked the level design. The maps seem to be pretty big and there are a lot of places you can go. There is an added element that to get further in the game you have to find the key that unlocks that area. This adds another layer of challenge to the game... which usually results in wandering around looking for the key. Luckily the zombies re-spawn when you return to an area so you're not completely bored running around, plus this helps you level up a lot more as you try and get your bearings. There is an in game map to access to help you find your away around. If you hit the back button it gives you a list of items you picked up on your journeys and you can heal, stop being in a rage, and things of that nature. I really like that they infused a lot of Role Playing Game elements into this game. Another random aspect is the interactive load screen. This is hilarious and is like a mini version of Onechanbara in really terrible and old graphics. Think original Nintendo level graphics and 2-D game play! It's stupidly fun, but we're not sure you get anything for killing zombies in that screen.

As you move through the story you can unlock other playable characters. The first one you meet is named Annna, yes it has three "n's", and yes we thought this was pretty stupid too. Annna primarily uses guns and has a nice assortment of them, so if you're the type of player that prefers a ranged attack, then this is the girl for you! As you play you also unlock more costume items. There is a "dress up mode" section of the game where you can dress up and make new costumes for your girls. We played around with this function a little, and yes you can just choose to have them run around in their underwear. I tested this out; the one part I didn't like is you couldn't have them change the underwear colors or style. Otherwise this was a pretty hilarious feature and Saki will now run around with virtually no clothes as far as I'm concerned.

Why is this review so long? Because now I'm onto the cons and here's con number one. The booklet is terrible. It's one of the most uninformative user manual's I've ever seen. Rather than explain this game and it's functionality for all it's worth, they decided to write the measly few pages over and over again in different languages. I realize they want to get this game marketed as globally as possible, but still... I'd like to know that my characters level up and a breakdown of the items you can get. It really wasn't that obvious as soon as we started playing the game.

The way they use split screen co-op is somewhat of a turn off for me, though I understand why they would do this. Instead of splitting the screen horizontally along the x-axis of your television, Onechanbara is split vertically along the y-axis. The reason for doing this is probably so you can see more of your character in all of her scantily clad glory. However, it is different from what I am used to with games like Left 4 Dead, where I have the whole top screen to myself. However, this really didn't diminish the game play that much for me.

The biggest con is the fact that all the dialogue and story line movers are in Japanese. So you have to read this game in English if you really want to know what's going on. The introduction to new levels actually involves quite a bit of reading. Paragraph upon paragraph explaining what's going on in that particular level, kind of like this review! It's cool that they tried to involve a deeper story line, but it's annoying they couldn't hire English voice actors to tell me about it. The story line, honestly, is nothing to really get excited about, but I really expected this, so it really doesn't take away from my rating or my game play experience.

Another downfall, and this one is actually kind of major for me, is that the characters get split up and there is a section of this game where only one player can play. It's kind of like in X-Men: Legends when Wolverine had to go off on his own! The level is actually kind of long while the other player sits there and just watches instead of playing. This was kind of annoying, even though it actually adds a decent element to the story line. I don't like my co-ops going single player. They solved this problem for the other sequence by introducing Annna, which I thought was a great idea and didn't compromise the story.

Whew, I think that's it for my review. I hope it's informative enough to everyone that opts to purchase this game. Sorry it's so long, but there's a lot to say that you really don't know about just by picking up the game and flipping through the booklet! If you like the hack and slash styled games then this is a must get for that feature alone. We've been playing this game on Easy to start off and it's a little too Easy at this point, but I do want to get through the story and see what happens. These aren't like Left 4 Dead zombies that move quickly, they're more like Resident Evil, slow and lumbering. If you just want to kill things you can go into something called "Survival Mode" and you can co-op in there and just work on leveling up your characters. Alright I'm done... enjoy your zombie hunting!

Game was overall well put together. Maps were a bit hard to follow, since it took me a few tries to get each level right. Storyline is decent, but I would not recommend until this game hits a bargin bin somewhere.

I have not had this much fun playing a game in a long time! I like games that have unlockable content, and replayability. I can't wait for the sequel! It's worth noting that the Wii version is a sequel, not a port of the same game. So you can buy both and enjoy each for it's own merits!

Bring it on! 5 stars, my highest recommendation.

Ever since the debut of Nintendo's "Mario Party", the multiplayer party genre is suddenly popular. Now the PlayStation's mascot, Crash, is jumping onto the bandwagon with "Crash Bash". It's the first game developed without Naughty Dog, who created Crash's first four games; instead, it's developed by Eurocom and Mark Cerny. For a first shot, Eurocom has done a great job with living up to Naughty Dog's legacy.

You can play as one of eight characters: Crash, Coco (Crash's sister), Dr. Neo Cortex (Crash's enemy), Dr. N. Brio (Cortex's rival), Tiny, Dingodile, and Koala Kong (Cortex's henchmen), and Kangorilla (a new character). There are also some secret characters, including Ripper Roo (a psychotic kangaroo in a straitjacket) and Penta Penguin.

There's a total of 28 different games to play. One example is a game where you ride on polar bears and joust each other while trying to avoid falling off of the slippery, swaying iceberg on which you're battling. In another, you bounce on pogo sticks and try to make the bricks of the platform you're bouncing on a solid color. There's even a game where you drive through a maze in a tank and blast each other with missiles and mines. Some games, though, are variants of classic games, such as air hockey, racing (although in this, you race in bumper cars rather than go-karts), and standard fighting, e.g. throwing TNT at each other and using your special 'power', etc.

The game allows for 1-4 players, and offers so much fun, you'll get addicted instantly. You'll definitely enjoy it!

Chrash Bash may is as good as Niendo's Mario Part, if not better. The gameplay is based around different mini-games (like Mario Party), set into four groups. The groups include the likes of playing with pogos, bouncing balls, playing in the snow, ana a jungle level. In my opinion, the mini-games are much more developed than in Mario Party, however there are is a fewer variety. The level of fun, is without a doubt, better than Mario Party. However, the games are much more lengthy. You must have patience when playing each game because you must win three trophies to win a mini-game. This should be in everyone's Playstation library as a classic game.

As I said before, Crash Bash is ultimately the most fun I've ever had with the wonderful Crash Bandicoot Series. I'm 14, and I got my first Crash Bandicoot (Crash 1) when I was 9 years old, and I have enjoyed the entire series ever since. Crash Bash has it all; a great storyline, superb graphics, and, most importantly, an unbelievable replay value. It's as almost if I could keep playing this game for 2 or 3 more years (and I probably could!). Crash Bash provides 8 characters to start out with. They are Crash Bandicoot, the star of the series, Coco Bandicoot, Crash's sister, Dr.Neo Cortex, Crash's arch nemesis, Dr.N.Brio, Cortex's old colleague, the huge Tiny Tiger, Rilla Roo, a brand new villain, Koala Kong, and my favorite, Dingodile. Each has their own strength (and weakness) such as Crash's speed, Tiny's strength, and Brio's ability to fire a laser gun. There are 3 modes of play. They are Adventure mode, which is when you travel from warp room to warp room duking it out with the other players for trophies, crystals, and gems and battling bosses, Battle mode, a freestyle competition where you can pick your character, level, and difficulty and just get rollin', and finally Tournament mode, where you can select an arena of four levels and collect trophies as you go, and hopefully, win! The levels are spectacular, ranging from a level where you can mercilessly bombard your opponents with an assortment of crates and weapons to a flat out frenzy on pogo sticks! This game is one of the best games I own. I look forward to playing this game every day, no matter how much school homework I have assigned to me!! Trust me, you'll love every ounce of this 3-D masterpiece. And as for the people who think this game stinks, well, they're full of it. If you don't have this game, well then by all means, go out and snag a copy, put it into your PlayStation, and get ready to have a blast!!!

Honest reviews on Crash Bash - PlayStation

My husband and I (30+ year olds, I have to admit) bought a playstation on a whim several years ago. Crash was one of our introductory games. As they keep coming out with new ones, we're on it. Crash Bash is the first time we have played the game simultaneously and what a blast. The graphics are hilarious and inventive. The game lets you pick which character you want to be, and I was a little reluctant at first rooting for anyone but Crash. I quickly got over that. It was good enough that he was on my team. It is hilarious. The big characters riding around on little polar bears is a kick. It is pretty tricky, but not enough to frustrate you. And, again, it is inventive. One of the games has 4 characters on 4 corners of a floating ice block that tips toward the direction of most weight. It is a riot. The final "challenges" are tough, but again, not impossible. They make it just difficult enough to make the game last and not become boring, but not too hard to frustrate the player. I recommend Crash as a must-have with a Playstation.

"Crash Bash" is deffinently the best of the Crashes. It's challenging, fun, and hard to quit. The levels are hard yet still fun to play (even though you loose half the time). And after you beat one level, they develope new ways to play that same level in a different way (My favorite levels are the Crash Box Bash one's). But I have to say that the best, best, best part of "Crash Bash" is.......... THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE CRASH!!!!! That's right. You can choose from a total of eight charecters (Crash, Coco, Dr. Neo Cortex, Tiny, ect.) to lead you through the game. You can also battle other people, go through tournements, or do the regular adventrue mode. So this is the reason I think that Crash Bash is they best of the Crashes.

this game is great, the fans of dynasty warriors and samurai warriors will enjoy it imensly. the levels are long and beutiful and chocked full of guys, as long as you want to you can wade through enemy troops being able to now choose three officers instead of one, you switch between them during battle using the triggers meaning you can zip around the map with faster characters then switch to the powerhouses when in battle, you can also switch during combos making it harder to be stopped. goemon ishkawa and kunoichi are back but katsuie shibata and koji sasaki are left out. still, one of the best warriors games so far, if it had a character creation system it'd be perfect but alas there is none. with 4 storylines to choose from it's fun for hours of rampaging slaughter.

This is worth every penny to any Dynasty/Samurai Warriors die hard fan!

First off the graphics are the same. Frame f=rate may be a little smoother but overall the game is worth the price when you compare it to the rest of the Dynasty Warriors franchise. Someone mentioned that it's too easy to unlock the characters....ok dude it's over 70 playable fighters how hard does it have to be for you to feel like you got your money worth? Play it on the hardest mode then say that. Who has that much free time? Not everyone, that's for sure. I think the game is excellent how it is. I like how they made the upgrade system and the 3 tag team is a plus. Until they step up with a next generation game with todays expectations, Warriors Orochi is the BEST of the series next to the Dynasty Warriors GUNDAM for any GUNDAM fans. The price for Warriors Orochi is fair to what the game offers and I can bet you in a year this will be a very hard to find game on certain systems. I've played most of the Dynasty Warriors series since it started off as a one on one sword fighting game like SoulCaliber for PS one. This is a must have to any D.W. fan! No other Dynasty or Samurai Warriors game has this many playable characters available on the same game. Some games are ment to trade in and some are ment to keep. My opinion, this is a sleeper hit for the series and a keeper. There is really no need to buy a Dynasty or Samurai Warriors game if you get this one.

For those who don't enjoy hours upon hours of repetitive game-play, then this game is not for you. For those who've enjoyed the offerings of the Dynasty and Samurai Warriors series, then this game is right up your alley.

The game contains over 80 playable characters, and, if I had to make any criticism, it would be that these characters are too easy (phenomenally easy) to unlock.

Honest reviews on Warriors Orochi - Xbox 360

I've been a fan of Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and Koei games in general for quite some time now. And there are certain groups of people for which Koei games are a favorite. If you read many of the gamer magazines you'll find that most Koei games automatically receive low ratings. I think that there is a bias against Koei games but I really don't care what other people think about the franchise, I'll continue to buy Koei games because I like them. Warriors Orochi brings together the warriors from both DW and SW with an interesting storyline. I would've like more cinematics. This game feels slightly rushed but still a great bet for geniune fans.

It was an idea that should have been test marketed a little more because if most of the players who play Dynasty Warriors 5, 6, 7. or 8 are playing for one major reason.... slash and kill as many of the enemy as possible. Pretty straight forward. In Orochi, they threw in some weird changes that do not enhance this pleasure. If you like being able to change characters with the push of a button and keep track of their health and other things, you might like this. I myself will stick with the basic slash and kill approach.

Space Quest IV was the first adventure game that I ever played. It introduced me to a world where games were more about story and brain bending puzzles than run-and-gun style gameplay. Space Quest is a funny science fiction adventure game series that lampoons popular film and television series, such as Star Trek and Star Wars. If you are a fan of those things, you will fall out of your chair laughing. Highlights of the series include Space Quest III: The Pirates of Pestulon and Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers. The Space Quest series may end with Space Quest 6, but the two guys that started it all, Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy, are back for new adventure games. Support the revival of a genre: tgakick.com

I bought a couple of these re-release sets over the years trying to make them work on newer computers. Vivendi finally took some time here to polish up these games and get them working on modern hardware. I have tested and played through the intro to each of these games and did some basic gameplay.

Vivendi has licensed a program called DosBox to act as middleware between DOS emulation and Windows XP. This means the games finally run properly on new computers. The sound is properly redirected through sound cards under Windows. Even the beeps and bleeps of the PC speaker sound from Space Quest II come through on my Sound Blaster Audigy 2. I had not been able to play the sound for Space Quest III since I sold my old 486 about 8 years ago.

The games also play at the proper speed. No longer does the character move at light-speed regardless of the setting you make in the game. The games all seem to be playable and enjoyable. Included in the set is the VGA remake of Space Quest I, the talking CD-ROM version of Space Quest IV, and the CD-ROM version of Space Quest VI. It might have been nice to see the other versions of those games included, but the quality of what has been included here is first rate. There is also a manual included in PDF format from one of the earlier releases of the anthology.

Thank you Vivendi for resurrecting some of my favorite adventure games from my childhood and for taking the time to make a polished interface to make them work properly!! I hope the rest of the Sierra games will be released soon. You certainly can't beat the price for these at all!

I also bought the King's Quest Compilation and I expect it to be just as great based on my impressions of the Space Quest Compilation.

The Space Quest series games easily hold their own among the funniest, funnest and most enjoyable adventure games ever. The main character is Roger Wilco, intergalactic janitor extraordinaire. All he wants to do is nap in the broom closet, but he is the only one who has what it takes to save the world: luck, disregard for personal safety, and extremely large pockets. Each game involves different circumstances, various planets, shopping malls and restaurants, and villains, from the nefarious Sludge Vohaul to legions of insurance salesman, game pirates (the Pirates of Pestulon), the Time Rippers, and more. Fans of other popular science fiction franchises will appreciate the many spoofs that abound. My kids like the humor and interplanetary travel. Age has done nothing to diminish the playability and fun of these games. If you like adventures games with challenging situations, off-beat humor, pleasing graphics (considering the evolution of gaming as these were initially released), engaging plot, complex character interaction and just plain good fun, then you definitely will enjoy this series. Great value for price too considering each single game tends to sell for much more on internet marketplaces, if and when you can find them. Recommended for all ages.

Honest reviews on Space Quest Collection - PC

It was the 80s. Ms. Pac-man was the rage, nintendo revolutionized our view of the video game system, and the PC game market was in its early stages. Among the first graphical adventure games, the Space Quest series is the beloved creation of the Two Guys from Andromeda. This witty, comical series is the story of one lowly space janitor and his rise to fecal fame. The games make light of the great space movies, including Star Wars, Star Trek, Aliens, and Buck Rogers among many others.

Not for the adventure gaming faint of heart, the Space Quest series was known for its many and creative ways to die. While I personally love this fact, modern gamers may find it frustrating. The graphics are period specific think 80s and early 90s with beeping and chirping computers. But isn't that exactly why you'd buy a series compilation like this?

This compilation is designed for people like me, who either enjoy the games the first time out, or are old enough to remember when you knew 16 ways of telling a parser interfact to "look at object." It's the kind of old school nostalgia that keeps us feeling young, but knowing that we're getting old.

Note: In spite of the care given to putting this collection together, some thing are noticibly absent or were not fixed. In SQIV, even with DOS-box, timer issues abound. But fixes and patches can be found online. Missing from the collection is the original (non-VGA icon interface) version of the original Space Quest game.

I wanted to contribute this review because I saw some reviews that made it seem that you have to have knowledge and skill in using DosBox to get this game to play. Not true! I popped the disc into my Windows 7 home premium 64 bit system, and it loaded right up, no problems. The DosBox feature engaged automatically with no need for any input from me.

The SQ IV graphics looked a lot more boxy than I remember, from when I originally played it. But, if memory serves, the original played on about 50% of the screen, whereas this version is full screen, so that could be the reason the graphics don't look as good as they once did. I couldn't find an option to reduce the screen size of the game. Too bad, it does look a little rough.
