At $4.99 at the time of this review I would recommend getting Krieg. I think $4.99 is a good price for an add-on character. And if you're into melee and hacking and slashing then Krieg will be one of your favorites. I like playing as him and to get his skills are super awesome when you down to the bottom of his skill trees.

This product will activate on steam for Mac and PC just use the code you get from Amazon and go inside the steam client to Games/Activate game it works great.

Well I am off to ride the poop train!

PS when you're playing as Krieg if you listen for a softer voice in the background that tries to calm him down that is Krieg's former self trying to talk him back to the light, but of course Krieg isn't having it

The game devs really went "opposite" with Psycho. You have to play with him near death to make best use of his abilities. And he becomes awesome at higher levels when he is breathing fire out of his mouth like a dragon. So, be very warned, it makes him a challenging character to play.

bottomline:

If you want a challenge in BL2? this is a 5 star review of Psycho. Get it. You'll enjoy the craziness of trying to keep Psycho alive when he is low level.

On the other hand -If you get tired of him dying 1 second before "second wind" kicks in (death admittedly has very little penalty in the game), this is a 2 star review. It doesnt help that you are somewhat restrained in using fire based elemental weapons since that is his greatest weapon-based perk. If the above sounds annoying, I dont think you'll like playing the Psycho character.

Wow... just wow. That's the best way to describe Krieg. With one of the most potentially fascinating backstories in all of the Borderlands series, Krieg is a hoot to play as well. Basically, think of any thing you're NOT supposed to do as a standard player class. Got those in mind? Good. At least one of Krieg's skill trees either involves or focuses on you doing that thing you aren't supposed to do.

There's Mania, which encourages you to be a low health and no shields as frequently as possible so you spend most of your time using your Action Skill. There's Hellborn, which encourages you to be ON FIRE (seriously, on fire, as in "fire, hot, ow"). And Bloodlust, which really doesn't care about you killing enemies so much as you using as many different things as possible to damage them, melee, gun, grenade, whatever.

I'd already picked up Krieg earlier, but when I saw it on sale here I had to grab it for my friends. The process was easy and I was able to pick up three keys without issue, which I promptly texted to my friends. They were quite happy.

Some general advise for anyone buying the DLC here: don't bother with the games downloader for this one. Krieg is just an unlock, and what's more content for BL2 has to be downloaded through Steam anyway. Just go to your games library (Account > Your Games & Software Library) and get the key that way, then enter it in the "Add a game..." option in Steam. Way easy.

Honest reviews on Borderlands 2 Psycho Pack

I really like this particular character. It adds a different spin on the Borderlands 2 characters. His special is melee based so it's "similar" to Brick (BL1) but he uses a spinning axe and can throw it. I haven't maxed him out yet but so far it's extremely satisfying to run up to enemies and melee them causing extreme damage. You can lvl him up through his skill tree in a way so you can almost use his special all the time...literally; he's almost over powered at times.

If you want a different styled character where you don't fully rely on gun power but special power, then this is definitely the pack for you. Even if you're curious about it I'd say it's pretty worth it. I got it for a discounted price and I haven't played it enough to tell if it's worth the full $10 but so far I have 0 complaints. And from what I've seen on Youtube and such he seems like a very fun and ridiculously crazy character to play at max lvl.

Heavenly Sword is truly an amazing and entertaining experience. My brother and I rented this game and played thorough it in 2 nights. It probably took us about 8-10 hours to get through since some of the bosses were a little tricky. What stood out to me the most about this game was its production value. I have never seen acting so good in a game before, and not just the voice overs. You really began to love the heroes in the game and truly hate the villains, one in particular. Much of this level of quality was due to Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings' Gollum, King Kong) who headed up the motion capture and voice recording as well as playing the part of the main antagonist in the game, King Bohan.

Everything was done so well down to the smallest detail, the level of quality was outstanding. The game looked great in game and during the cut seans. There were many moments where we had to stop playing and just take in the beautiful landscape. This is definitely a game to show off your PS3 system, I like the rope running sequence myself.

The game play was also top notch. It focuses mostly on melee combat and shooting. There is no real platforming to speak of. Switching between different fighting styles (speed, ranged, and strong) and performing counters was innovative and a lot of fun. As were the shooting sequences using the sixaxis to guide arrows and cannon balls were fun as well and a great use of the technology. Overall the controls were tight and worked very well for this type of game.

I would have to say that Heavenly Sword is up there with my most memorable gaming experiences and is truly an amazing game. If you own a PS3 you owe it to your self to buy or at least rent this game. You won't be sorry.

Could it be that the Playstation 3 is finally getting some exclusive, must own games? Heavenly Sword, the eagerly anticipated hack & slasher from Sony, may look as if it's a toned down God of War, but don't let that fool you. Boasting some incrediblely mouth watering graphics and superb controls, Heavenly Sword puts you in the role of Nariko: a female warrior who wields said sword and takes down hordes of enemies in the process. While this may sound like it'll get boring after a while (like many games of the genre do), Heavenly Sword manages to keep things pretty fresh by implementing different play styles, playable characters, and puzzle elements as well. The game also boasts some incredible production values, excellent music and sound effects, great voice acting, and entertaining cinematics and story as well. The only real negative to Heavenly Sword is that the game is quite short. It won't take you long to get through the game (you could beat it in an afternoon if you so desired), and though there are a nice selection of unlockables and extras to find as well, the replay factor isn't very high here. Not to mention that the puzzle elements aren't anything we haven't seen before either, but these negatives don't take away the fact that Heavenly Sword is one of the best, original games to hit the PS3 yet. All in all, Heavenly Sword is a fun blast while it lasts, and needless to say, if you own a PS3, this is one of the games you've been waiting to get your hands on since you purchased the console.

Game Review: Heavenly Sword (PS3)

OMG!! If I hear one more person complain about the length of this game I swear I am going to scream!! First off let me address the fact. It is obvious to me that people complained about the length, because the game is so FRIGGN SWEET and they wanted more. I simply adore the fact that this game is so short, I have a job and family of four and only get to sit and play games for maybe an hour or two here and there. Why do people put such of an emphasis on the length of a game? Saying things like "for $60 this game should be longer". No game IMO is worth 60 bucks, but that is what they charge. I don't feel justified when I spend 60 bucks on a game and it is 20+ hours long. I feel justified by how the game impressed me or how I felt after I finished it. Did I have a memorable experience and maybe how much replay value is there? Heavenly Sword addresses all these questions, with an astounding YES. The only game I have ever played twice that was 20+ hours long was Final Fantasy 7. Otherwise with most longer games I was so glad it was over, that I wouldn't dare go through it again. With short games you can play them over and over be glad you like say Resident Evil. If you want to complain about the price tag, just complain about the price tag!! But please don't place a negative on a game just because it is a little shorter than others. Simply put I would pay 60 bucks for this masterpiece faster than any 20+ hour game I can think of.

Now that I am off my soapbox, let me just say that this game is probably the best entertainment experience I have had in a long time. I say entertainment, because this game is like participating in a karate movie with a great story. It immediately pulls you into its wonderful cinematic story. This game is a crowning achievement from beginning to end. Please do not compare this game to God of War or Prince of Persia, both are great in there own respect, but Heavenly sword destroys them. Both God of War and Prince of Persia are platformers at the core and Heavenly sword is not. You can not jump which some say is a negative, but in that same respect you don't have to worry about falling off any cliffs either.

Yes I will say it Heavenly Sword is the most beautiful game I have ever played, from the cinematic cut-scenes, to the very intense battles. The developers definitely took their time doing this one right! Every battle is like watching Uma Thurman in Kill Bill dispatch a room full of enemies. While this might sound monotonous, the style in which Nariko dispatches of her enemies makes me wish they just kept coming. Blocks, counter attacks, combos, ability to pick things up and hurl them at enemies, and last but not least those GORGEOUS finishing moves are what makes the battles such a joy. I think what I liked most about the game is that it never felt like a straight button mashing affair, you'll actually need to time your blocks, attacks and counters.

Don't think it is all fighting though; alternatively you'll get to play as Kai. Kai is the ultimate fight from a distance companion. And with her comes one of the games BEST gimmicks. The "aftertouch" system, which I ABSOLUTELY loved, allows you to slow down time and aim the arrows with the Sixaxis controller. It does take some practice and you need a gentle touch to make sure the controller is level before firing. Once you get the hang of it though, guiding an arrow's path directly into the skull of an enemy never ever gets old.

The game isn't perfect. I found the button-pressing sections of the game where you have to hit a certain button when it pops up on screen very distracting. Heavenly sword engrosses you so much into the story that I just wanted to watch the cinematic experiences not actually participate in them, so I was constantly mistiming things. There weren't many sections like this, but I wouldn't have missed them if they were gone.

Bottom line: This is the game that will remind you why you wanted a PS3 in the first place. If you own a PS3 or have a friend who has a PS3, you MUST play this game. If you don't have access to a PS3 you are seriously missing out on one of the gaming industries masterpieces. Sure there are other great games on other systems that are outstanding. Heavenly Sword though, will have you thinking about it when you aren't playing it and that is what makes a gaming masterpiece. Whether you rent or buy is really irrelevant JUST PLAY IT!! Yeah it may be only about 6 hours or so long, but soon as I get the chance I am going to play through it again, yeah it is that good. With as many games as I have played through my life, I can't remember the last game I actually wanted to play through a second time. Oh yeah I can Final Fantasy 7 (September 1997)

Honest reviews on Heavenly Sword - Playstation 3

I bought Heavenly Sword the day it came out. While at the time, it was one of the best games graphically for PS3, it definately did not live up to my expectations.

The gameplay is repetitive and SHORT. The movies were pretty long and it did seem like we were watching a movie intercut with some short gameplay. The enemies were easy enough to pick up with a couple favorite combos, and the bosses were easy once you figured out the pattern to their attacks. All in all, if your a good gamer or even an average gamer, this game will last you all of one sitting, plus a few hours for the last boss, because he is irratatingly hard, unlike how the game was up until that point.

I'm not saying that the game wasn't impressive, as it had expansive environments. It just seemed like I was seeing the same things over and over again. The backgrounds were nice, but it wasn't like you got to go see them.

All in all. I'm not sad that I own this game, but after beating it, I doubt I'll pick it up and play it again. Most of the game is watching the movie and once you've seen it, there really is no desire to keep playing.

Yes, this game is shorter than most, but don't let that stop you from buying this game and supporting the developer Ninja Theory; they have done a great job at giving us a truly next generation game that demonstrates the power of the PS3.

Heavenly Sword is innovative in several ways, from the game interface (basic menu), to the mini animated Super Style moves and the combat system; to the depth that the gamer will be pulled into the story. Playing through I got the feel that things had now changed and after this game, others that follow will have to do more. I played through in 720p and the graphics are awesome, everywhere and all the time. It is amazing how many enemies can be on screen at one time and it all works so well, rocks! The Super Style move animation blends in so well with the rest of the combat flow, it was really done well. The sixaxis use for arrows was well done too.

The story of Nariko, her friend Kai, and Clan will pull you in and keep you wanting more until the very end. I have played no other game that has anything like the way this game delivers the story with you.

I beat the game, but it took me more like 9 to 10 hours. I've gone back now to any previous spot I like, a nice feature of the game to work on unlocking more glyphs for (more of ) the tons of extra content that gets unlocked as you play through the game. There is replay value here, and a hell mode once beaten.

Overall, I'm glad I bought this game, and highly recommend it be purchased.

I found this game to be more fun that any other RPG I've played. While the story doesn't keep you on the edge of your seat, it is interesting and takes many unforseen and amusing turns. The items system is the best thing about this game. It is based off of the use of alchemy, where you create items as Visse using components. Once you have unlocked an item by creating it once, you can make more of them wherever you are using elements which are found across the world. The result is that you are not afraid to use items, which makes the game far more enjoyable. At the same time, money is still important as you need it to buy recipies so you can create armor, accessories, and more expendable items. I suppose the item system makes the game less challenging, but I was too busy having fun to notice.

The battle system is innovative, and still remains simple. You can use a break attack, which delays the enemies turn and can allow you to do critical damage if you keep the enemy broken. You can use a charge attack which increases your skill bar, allowing your team to use powerful special attacks or healing magic. Or you can a skill or item. Simply breaking an enemy is not a path to victory, as bosses will not stay broken for long and will just bash you while you are doing small amounts of damage because you are not using skills. Against normal enemies, they show up in groups so it is rare you can keep them all broken unless they are so weak they die in one or two hits anyway. A combination of breaking, charging, and skills is required to effectively defeat enemies.

A large part of the game is spent playing as Viesse on Eden where there are no battles. However, even this part is surprisingly fun. As Viesse you go around Eden making pacts with Mana spirits to increase your alchemy abilities and to help the people who live there. Her part of the game is primarily character development as you learn about those who live on Eden and what Felt, the other main character, is up against.

The characters are an amusing group of rebels freeing a Kingdom that has been conquered by a foreign empire. The graphics are not amasing, but suit the world very well. The voiceovers add alot to that characters, giving them a great deal of personality. Between the item system and the skill bar systems, I never found myself worried that I'm running low on mana and items deep into the dungeon. Overall, I would describe this game as easy and convenient. It's the kind of game that doesn't challenge you too much, but also doesn't have any of those frustrating moments that usually accompany a more challenging title.

I'm an RPG buff, through and through. I've been playing RPGs ever since Dragon Warrior I and I just love a certain style to my RPGs. I played Atelier Iris 1 and, while the game was enjoyable, it had flaws. It seems that those flaws, all of them, were fully addressed in part 2.

The positives:

if you're an SNES fan this game is right up your alley, as the games feel like they're fresh from that system, just with anime clips throughout.

The music is outstanding. It just gets better and better with time, like a fine wine.

The storyline is a little confusing at first, but as you progress through the game, you'll unravel quite the thread and everything will start to make sense.

Dialogue is hilarious at times. Especially with a certain other character who keeps messing up Felt's name, and even at one point calling him Klein (from Atelier Iris 1).

Felt can actually fight on his own, unlike Klein who was useful for only one thing alchemy. This got you killed, because Klein was the only one who could revive others with items. If he died, your battle was done. In this one, there are revival items that anyone can use, plus ones that Felt OR Viese can use. Much improved.

The bad:

Viese is horrible to use at first. All she does in the beginning of the game is make items for Felt to use during his quest in the opposite world. Though some of her storylines are interesting, it starts to get old. Fortunately, a plot twist will happen which will finally thrust her into the real gameplay, and that's when the game starts to get really interesting.

Either Felt is a pimp or something's wrong with the game direction. Viese seems to think of Felt like a brother who she's attracted to, as sick as that sounds. The other females in the story seem to be attracted to Felt but don't really show it, and Felt is just in the center kinda breezing through with no real bond to any of them.

The map was removed in exchange for a point-and-click interface. You tell them where to go and they go there, and new locations are opened as you progress through the story. I call this a negative because I like free roam, though I understand why they did it; it speeds up the game play significantly.

Do I recommend this game? Absolutely. The best part is that you don't need to have played part 1 to understand part 2, it just gives you a little bit of insight, but part 2 is light years ahead of part 1 in terms of gameplay and graphics.

One of the questions most people will have is: is the Move Navigation Control required to play the Move? The quick answer is--not right now. I'll put it another way: I ordered one with my Playstation Move Starter Bundle. After playing 5 different Move games and demos, it's still unopened in the package. My guess is it'll stay that way for a while.

The Move Navigation controller is really just a Dualshock controller that's designed to fit in one hand more comfortable. As with the Dualshock, it has a joystick, four directional buttons, and the most commonly used "X" and "O" Playstation buttons all within easy reach of your thumb.

Sony designed the Move controller (wisely IMO) not to have a joystick nor directional buttons. That makes it simpler and more elegant, but it also makes certain things (such as scrolling through a menu list of options) awkward to do with the Move controller alone (although not impossible--you can navigate through menus using the Move controller alone by pressing and holding the Trigger button and moving the controller up, down, left, and right).

But so far I've found so far that just holding the Dualshock in my left hand and controlling the buttons and joystick with my left thumb is sufficient, if a little clunky, for most of what I need to do (unless you have freakishly long thumbs the "X" button will be hard to reach--but happily, pressing the "Move" button on the Move controller will do what you need in most cases).

I'd assumed that like the Wii Nunchuk the Navigation Controller would have motion control built-in so you can control the on-screen action with both hands. It doesn't. For games that require motion control using two hands, you'll need to buy a second Move Controller. Most games that support two-handed operation will also provide the option to play one-handed, but I strongly recommend getting the second Move Controller, as it makes the experience truly immersive. Gladiator Duel on Sports Champions is a great example.

As new games are created for the Move I'm sure the Navigation Controller will become more useful, especially with FPS-type games where you need to move and shoot at the same time. But if you're looking to save a little money, I'd recommend holding off on the Navigation controller for now and spending the money on a second Move controller instead until you find a game that really needs it.

This was originally titled the "sub-controller" and that was much more fitting. Sony is somehow getting away with charging $30 for half a dual-shock. Only, it's not really half a dual-shock as it features NO RUMBLE. So, you're getting half a six-axis, right? NO. There is NO motion control feature included for your $30. This, to me, is the most disgusting thing about the Move setup, especially considering you REALLY DO need the navigational controller for games like RE5 and Heavy Rain (you can play with half a dual-shock, but it gets to be very uncomfortable very fast).

I can almost guarantee Sony will add rumble to the navigational controller within the next 6 months (probably prior to the release of Killzone 3). So, if you're not a hardcore gamer, I'd wait. If you ARE and you REALLY want to use motion control on RE5 and Heavy Rain, I would recommend this, albeit reluctantly at this price.

Is there anything wrong with the controller? Not really. It's well designed and mostly comfortable. The bumper button is too close to the thumbstick, which can lead to numb fingers and a sore wrist, but if you don't have large hands, this may not be a problem. Sony just needed to add either motion or rumble or both to justify this price. Nintendo charges $19.99 for their sub-controller (IE "nunchuck") and it has motion control.

The navigational controller would be priced right at $19.99 with rumble. Or at $9.99 as it currently is. Better yet, Sony could have included it in the starter pack and made everyone happy.

Holy PS3 accessories :)

The Navigation Controller is Motion Controller's (aka 'the Move') natural complement. It is not a 'must buy' at this time but it helps to have one for certain games where it's meant to be operated with 'the other' hand. If you don't have one, you can get away with a DualShock or a Sixaxis.

To make an informed decision on whether a purchase is warranted at this time (or ever) it's important to be aware of the following:

At the time I am writing this, not too many 'Move' games need the Nav. Probably because, one week after Move's official launch there aren't too many Move games out there but that will change I just ordered Heavy Rain which does use the Nav and I've had Little Big Planet 2 on order for quite a while.

There is nothing that that Nav can do that your DualShock or Sixaxis can't. In fact, the Nav Controller is nothing but the left side of the DualShock 3 plus the X and O buttons (PS button too) and minus rumble and motion sensitivity. You can, therefore, use your DualShock instead of the Nav on games that may require it.

These being said, the Nav is a well-designed, quality built accessory that does what it's supposed to do very well. It may not look like much but holding and using it feels 'natural' and all the familiar controls are easy to reach even though it may take a little practice to get used to the unexpected but necessary O and X. And, of course, the Nav does NOT come with a wrist strap because it does not need one. The Nav Controller will not be used to hack and slash or punch or parry. As its name implies, its main use is for 'navigation', meaning mostly the analog joystick, but the L2/L3 triggers and the D-pad are also there when needed in Aragorn's Quest you use the L2 to raise the shield.

Rating the Nav controller for what it is and what it does, I find no faults with it whatsoever. I appreciate its exceptional design, quality and its apparent durability. Some of the early Move games that take good advantage of the Nav Controller include Heavy Rain, MAG, Aragorn's Quest at the time of this review, Little Big Planet 2 coming up in a couple of months, many in between, I hope. To the extent that the Move proves itself a success with game developers, the Navigation Controller will find its uses and its users. I believe it to be so because holding the DualShock in one hand while swinging the Motion Controller with the other is not a good way to play a game.

Honest reviews on Playstation Move Navigation Controller

The nav controller is pretty much a duelshock rolled into one piece to fit in your hand. everythings laid out nicely and it fits in your hand perfectly. Has the analog stick, x and o button, d-pad, and the L1 and L2 buttons. The L2 feels nice as it has a little curve to it now, so your fingers dont slide off(never had that problem, just heard people complain before) It doesn't take nearly as long to charge compared to the motion controller. Does not come with a strap which I heard people complaining, but you dont swing it. no need to be moving it, so that why theres no strap. Been using it as i play heavy rain, which i really love with the move. Theres about 3 games out right now that youll need this nav controller for, and more in the future. if you want to play RE5, MAG, or heavy rain, then I say go buy this. If not, just wait on it then. All in all, this is a great addition to the controllers and comes in handy.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Playstation Move Navigation Controller

The PS3 Move Navigation Controller may look like a Wii's nunchuck, but it serves a very different purpose. Where the nunchuck has motion sensing, the PS3 Move Navigation Controller is solely for button pushing.

This small, easy to hold device lets you use your left hand for button related tasks using the joystick for moving around a landscape, using the standard X and O buttons for performing actions. So for example if you are in a sword game you can have the motion-sensitive wand in your right hand, swinging your sword, while using your navigator in your left hand to walk across the field of battle and seek out your next opponent.

You might ask, if all this controller does is let you use a joystick and a few buttons, why even buy it? Why not just use a normal controller in the left hand? Certainly you can do that but the normal controller is set up for two handed use. Many people find it challenging to hold that controller just with the left hand in a way that easily gets them access to the joystick and the two buttons. With this navigation controller setup, it clearly is all arranged for one handed use.

If you want to play a game that requires both hands to be motion sensitive for example a boxing game where you punch with your left hand and also punch with your right hand this is NOT the controller you want. For that type of activity you'll want two wand controllers, one for each hand.

That means that for a typical player on a PS3 move system you need two wand controllers PLUS one navigation controller. You wouldn't use all three at the same time, but some games will have you using the two wand controllers and other games will have you use the wand in one hand and the navigation controller in the other.

You can see where this is going. If you have two gamers in the household who want to play head to head games, you now need FOUR wand controllers plus two navigation controllers to have them covered. It's time to give your PS3 system its own shelf, to handle all these accessories!

In any case the nav controller works well, is very useful for games, and I highly recommend it for any Move gamers.

I recently experienced my very FIRST RROD on my xbox. It was out of warranty and I was comfortable opening it anyway, so I did some Google searches to try to figure out what I could do. I found out info about the XClamp mod so I decided to go for it.

Here was my issue though; finding all of the washers. The screws recommended on some sites I found, but for some reason I couldn't find enough of the right washers in several hardware stores.

Leave it to Amazon to have what I needed. I searched and found XBRDepot selling a LOT of the washers that I needed! I decided to buy the 100 bag of nylon washers, along with the metal ones and the screws, all from the same company. When the nylon washers came, I was surprised how solid they felt. Much better than the ones I found at Home Depot. What you see in the picture they posted is exactly what you get.

Overall I was very pleased with my purchase and thanks to it, I was able to not only save MY xbox, but I used the left overs to help two of my friends too. If you are thinking about trying to fix your own RROD or e74 error, Google XBRDepot and look at their instructions. It will take some time (especially if you haven't opened your xbox before) but it will save you a lot of money. Once you learn how to do it, go back to Amazon and purchase the parts! You won't be sorry purchasing from XBRDepot through Amazon.

Samurai Warriors 2 (Sengoku Musou 2 -Japan title). Compared to the prequel, this game has more characters, more stages, more challenging, more replayability, more... everything.

There are ten new characters in total (including the most famous, Musashi Miyamoto who was never defeated in real-life history & who uniquely used 2 swords-style), and each of them have their own unique weapons and movesets. What makes this game is more unique, is that all characters, returning and brand new, are given specific techniques and movesets. The RB button, if pressed at the same time with either "X" or "Y" button, will make a character do a Special technique. The techniques range from doing special attacks, calling a horse, shooting, ninjutsu, and many others. Characters have also been assigned different types of movesets. Some characters' movesets are still similar to Sengoku Musou 1's moveset, but some others' are similar to the Shin Sangoku Musou movesets, but with improvements. If in Shin Sangoku Musou (Dynasty Warriors)you can only do a charge attack up to C6, here, you can unleash a C8!

There are no equipped items here, as they are being replaced by the new skill system. It is in a good way though, since you could only equip a limited number of items in previous games. Now, you can equip all skills you want, which consists of stat increasing, combat ability, recovery and luck skills, among others. Skills are only available for the character who has them, so other characters will have to get the same skills by themselves, making this game more replayable. There are 3 ways to get better Skills. Earn them as you Level Up, Learn them by beating another General or Buy Skill Upgrades from the Shop. At the shop you can also buy Horses & Bodyguards so no more waiting around to earn a horse. You can now start the game riding a horse from the beginning after you earn only 500 gold.

What makes this game more fun to play is that the castles, which many players consider as a major issue in Samurai Warriors 1, are now part of the main map. So yes, no more loading between floors, no more getting Lost, a big issue with me, plus now your Body guard can come along too, allies can also enter the castles, and you can go inside & outside of the castle as much as you please

AI has been improved. Graphics are much improved from the prequel, and the stages are more colorful now. Slowdowns are much less likely here. The music is still similar from the prequel, Techno with a bit of Japanese instruments. Movies are also well done, as well as character stories. Also, if you're bored of hacking and slashing, you can also play a monopoly-like minigame called SUGOROKU for up to 4 players, which is available here to earn money & unlock a character. Also a Surviver (Castle) Mode where you can earn more money & unlock another character as well as the two unique almost Invincible Horses (Kanketsuba, and Houshou Tsukige) To unlock them for purchase from the Shop, you must do specific tasks in the Survival Mode. as well as two unique Bodyguards (Shibata Katsuie and Sasaki Kojiro).

Only gripe, still need much more characters to unlock ( ie: Dynasty Warriors 42 generals) but with 10 more characters Samurai Warriors 2 is much more better than the original!

But with that many improvements, this game could be the most innovative of all Musou/Warriors game KOEI have ever released. You should at least try this game, and I'm 90% sure you'll like it.

I've played this game quite a lot and have found it to be very good in all aspects of gameplay. Unfortunatly I have been told by several retailers that this title has been discontinued. I do not know if the manufacture of this title has been halted but I'd advise getting this sooner than later because it really is a good game. I've probably put in more than 25 hours in the game and haven't completed all the storylines yet. This game is full of unlockables, something I really enjoy; It gives a nice sense of accomplishment. The voice acting on a couple of the characters is a little silly but for the most part is well done.

When I got my hands on the first installment of Samurai Warriors, I thought it was a lot of fun. When I got this one, I was shocked to see how much they had improved on the original. The combat system is much more fluid and intuitive. The in-game store allows players to spend money earned in missions to customize the characters to better match the player's own style. There are more playable characters than before, and individual story modes allow for quite a lot of replay value. Sadly, Koei removed the irritating character creation feature from the first game rather than fixing it. One of my favorite features, and the reason I bought it for Xbox 360 rather than PS2, is that the Xtreme Legends expansion pack is an Xbox Live downloadable patch rather than a separate disc that has to be swapped in and out during game-play. Some may consider this game just another hack-and-slash-fest from Koei, but as a fan of samurai, ninjas, and killing virtual opponents by the thousands, I highly recommend it.

Honest reviews on Samurai Warriors 2 - Xbox 360

Don't let the "2" at the end of this title fool you. It's basically an upgrade to the first Samurai Warriors. It features most (if not all) the same basic elements and hardly improves over the first one at all. Once again Koei has given us a basic hack and slash game. As if the slew of Dynasty Warriors games wasn't enough. Samurai Warriors isn't really all that different than any of Koei's other hack and slash games.

To begin, the game really does look the same as it did before. No real graphical enhancements, and not much of a polish to them either. So when I say this game is more or less the same, I'm not kidding. The XBOX360 version actually looks like the PS2 version; there is no graphical enhancements for the 360 version, which is a shame. Meaning if graphics is your thing, you might want the PS2 version instead as there's really no difference.

The only real difference between Dynasty Warriors and Samuraie Warriors (that stands out the most, anyway) is the simple fact that Samurai Warriors focuses on fuedal Japan (Dynasty Warriors focuses on China). There are an upwards of 26 characters to select from, most of which are locked until you complete the default characters storymode. In story mode you'll play through chapters just hacking and slashing away at your enemies. It's time Koei added more variety to these games. There aren't really a variety of ways you can deal with your enemies, and much like Dynasty Warriors, they clump up all over the screen. At first it's actually somewhat fun, but again, if you've played the first Samurai Warriors (along with Extreme Legends) and played the Dynasty Warriors games (along with those Extreme Legends) then you'll be disappointed (or really happy) to know that it's the same thing you've already been doing for years. Truly, this single aspect of the game could make or break it for you. Some aren't bothered by this at all. It's why Koei can continue to chuck out the same game over and over again. It's virtually the same, but some people like sameness, and of course I'm saying if you do then you'll feel right at home with this game, so don't let this review discourage you.

The story mode cutscenes are also given their own little dramatic effect. It doesn't work very well though. Like your standard Koei game, the English voice overs are terrible. They're so monotone and the dialogue is just bad. It's a good thing that you can easily have some fun with this game without gettind discouraged by the horrible voice acting. The music itself is really hit or miss. There's nothing really memorable about the music at all, and at times it just doesn't always feel right. We can let this slide, though.

Aside from story mode there is also a free mode which is more or less exactly like it sounds. You can choose any level you want and just go in and hack and slash at everything.

The game does try hard to put more of a strategic effort to the missions, but it's almost non-existant. For example, your attention may be called to an area on the map. The game expects that you'll take off and go there. You're not going to have to do that, though. There's really nothing strategic about Samurai Warriors. There wasn't anything strategic about the first one, and the second one's attempts to be such are pitiful.

There are two aspects of the gameplay that do stand out, though. One is the skill system, where you spend gold to learn skills for your character. It helps to make characters seem a little less generic, but not entirely. It does, however, give the game some much needed flavor and some neat customization ability. So there actually is a point to using characters over and over again, and chaning things up. The second aspect may very well be my favorite. The mini game: Sugoroku. It's more or less Monopoly with Samurai Warrior characters, and it's actually really fun to play, and can be quite addictive when playing with friends.

There's online play in this game (though the PS2 version doesn't go online), but it's not really satisfying. It's terrible as a matter of fact. When you go online you're put on two different maps. Yes, I said different. You'll never actually see your opponent. The basic goal is to defeat the enemy commander on your map before your opponent defeats the commander on theirs. Even worse, this is the only thing you can really do online. There's no flavor to it. You never see your oppoent, and there's no competetive or co-op modes or anything online. It's really sad to see. So while the game does have an online mode, you might as well forget about it and play freeplay or storymode because it's essentiall the same thing.

Overall, if you liked the first one, I'm not saying you'll dislike this one. I'm saying it's not really all that different. It's more or less an expansion of what's already been done a million times, and not just in Samurai Warriors. The gameplay can be fun, but just hacking and slashing at your enemies forever and ever with little variety will probably get pretty boring after a while.

As one reviewer pointed out this is basically an upgrade of the last samurai warriors. As such, I liked the former better than the recent. Though still this is a very enjoyable game with enough difficulty and ease to sustain about an hours worth of attention. The inclusion of the red headed Fuma ninja seemed somewhat unnecessary, but he turns out to be one of the better characters to play. Nobonaga was the primary focus of the SW1, but this one focuses on the aftermath of his tear through Japan and the ensuing power vaccum after his death. Mitshide and Ranmaori still look and talk like women from the ZangHe school of make up and hair design. And everyone vaguely resembles europeans pretending to be Japanese. Still a good game but they could've done just a bit more with the 360 version.

I have had so much fun with this game with the insane tricks. I bought this and MX Super Fly and I think they are both Great Games. I would have to say that for people who are not into MX race games but like the tricks you saw at the X or Gravity games get this game. Man even my Girl Friend like to play this game.( Controls are pretty simple 4 top buttons are tricks One boost and one to accelerate) and the graphics are really clean. My favorite detail is when you crash you kick start the bike and you feel the bike go squirlly on you( love the Force Feedback controllers). This is Fun if you like the big air and Mad Tricks and do not care that it is not a sim. if you are in to a more sim racing go with MX SuperFly. Thats My two Cents.

This is a great game! Here are the pros: great graphics, cool tricks, real cyclers, it has codes, and you can't get bored of it. Here are the cons: it is really hard to become a freakstyle legend. Other than that the game ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But little kids can get kinda frustrated because they can't come in first. A great racer is Brian Deegan. Use the code "LOKSMITH", go to Brian Deegan, and then choose his last bike. Go to "Burn It Up" race track. You will probably win.

Honest reviews on Freekstyle - PlayStation 2

This game is much in the shadows of ssx, it has the same trick system, but has a new feel to it. You can get huge air with little effort on almost all of the ramps. There are fire circles in some spots that if you do a trick while you go through will give you extra points. The game is pretty hard and has nowhere to set the difficulty that i could find, i wouldnt reccomend it if you get frustrated very easy, you can go through a whole track perfect, screw up in the end and have a guy pass you in a second. I enjoyed the arcade sounding announcer. There are enough tricks here for it not too get old having to do tricks for boosts and such. The characters are typical for this type of game. One feature that i really enjoyed was the freekout mode. This is where after you do tons of tricks, you get super speedy with a blaze of fire on the back of your bike and get to continue your rage by doing even more tricks, this is very fun if you can keep your control. The graphics are not very great, but are probly worth a 7.5. All in all, this is a very fun game, just dont go into it expecting something as great as ssx, just something to play for an aftertaste.

Let's get the bad stuff out of the way first....

The engine:

The one big flaw is the load/save times. Everybody hates it and everybody should. The game is easily worth the annoyance that comes with this, but c'mon people...learn to optimize your code! By the end of the game I kept a magazine at my computer which allowed me to tolerate it better...I recommend you plan ahead and do the same. I also had about one crash/ 6 hours gameplay. If you include an occasional combat lock (character would enter a tragic stutter loop, especially when pinned against impassable terrain and monsters) it came to about one forced reload / 3 hours. I don't consider that too bad for RPGs...it just isn't possible to test everything for every computer. Of course, the annoyance factor for a crash is way higher when reloading takes forever. On the flip side I never had to go farther back than one save because of a plot break.

Graphics:

Very good. Not groundbreaking, but immersive and high quality. I found myself chasing a bunch of pigeons just to watch them take off and climb higher and higher into the sky. The sunset is beatiful and lights up the whole sky. I started with the settings on high until the additional load-times outweighed the eyecandy enjoyment (about halfway through).

The combat system(gameplay):

Innovative and interesting. The attack chaining system is good, though a little unfair how easy some enemies are 'stun-locked.' Magic and swordplay interact well. They both become very powerful, but not too fast to be uninteresting. I highly recommend playing the game on hard to keep it interesting though...hard forces you to use alchemy to survive. This triumverate (sword, sorcery, alchemy), makes combat and character development very engaging. There is more than one way to conquor the system. The character has one MAJOR advantage though...speed. You can easily outrun anything. While some combats were a struggle, I could usually start running while under the influence of the 'speed healing' potion and ultimately win against more powerful enemies. Also, the game does depend on a few basic click skills. If you get stuck on one it could be very frustrating. Be sure your graphic settings do not kill your mouse timing. Also, IMHO the over the shoulder camera is far superior to the others...for all aspects of the game.

Inventory system:

Some good choices, some mediocre ones. Keeping quest items separate was a stroke of genius. You never have to worry about dropping a primary plot item. Treating big items (weapons and armor) separate from little ones (alcohol, food, greases) is a mixed blessing. There is no way to sell or delay choosing between weapons. They provide you with generous inn storage, but your on person storage is more limited. Personally I think they should go all or nothing (either very realistic like Stalker, or total conveinence (unlimited secondary items...unlimited weapons and armor would be going too far). However, there was clearly significant thought put into the whole system and it shows.

Storyline:

Slightly on the linear side, but there is still a strong sandbox element. The real strength is how your early choices impact the game later. It makes you think about the big choices for a long time because they really matter. Sometimes the consequences are very orthogonal, other times they are more predictable. There are a good number of interesting sidequests. Of special side quest note is the very 'notches on the bedpost' type set of cards that you collect for your 'secondary' conquests. While this is somewhat lewd, it is a very nice touch which adds alot of color to the game. Gambling and boxing are also secondary conquests which add alot of color. Very nice distractions from the main plot yet different from the standard FedEx side-quests. Because of the long range effect of plot choices, replayability is somewhat all or nothing. Reloading and trying the other choice works well for dialog options but not for plot twists. If you are a completist, prepare to be sucked in for a LONG time.

The verdict:

The real strength of the game is how it balances the different RPG elements. In this area it is amongst the best RPGs of all time. Most RPGs usually fail somewhere. Some lack a driving primary story that alters the world and choices that matter (Oblivion); some have character or combat development flaws (gothic 2...ever play a mage?); some are HORRENDOUSLY buggy (gothic 3); some are too linear (final fantasy). No game is perfect and much is a matter of taste, but most RPG gamers will greatly appreciate this offering...as long as they are patient with the loadtimes.

4.5-5 stars for the game. Subtract a star for the aggravating load times = solid 4 star game.

As a fan of some European games such as the Gothic series, I got my hopes up pretty high when I heard this one was making it into the States. I was a bit disheartened to learn that the U.S. version is somewhat censored (self-censored by the publisher, not the government or ESRB), and owning the uncensored version I can tell you that the differences are mostly minor and do not detract overall from the story.

Being built on the NWN engine, you wouldn't know it. The entire rendering engine has been replaced, the control scheme is very different, and virtually the only thing I can say I recognized were some of the item highlights and inventory selection. Instead of tilesets, the developer designed each area in 3DSMax, and imported them into the engine.

The results are very fresh and unique areas, and each area has the 'look' that the developer envisioned.

I have not read the books by the Polish author who came up with the idea, and I do not believe they are yet available here in the U.S., but I do have to say that the story is very engaging, the characters are believable, the interaction and choices are real, and this is a very 'deep' RPG which forces you to make real choices that have no apparent right or wrong answer.

The world isn't black and white, and most RPGs are. Not this one every choice is shades of gray, and you will find it difficult to make decisions, sometimes which bear down to the lesser of two evils.

If I had to compare it to other games, I'd say you had the story telling ability of Gothic, the feel of Knights of the Old Republic, and a bit of unique feel to the game.

I believe this is worth the purchase, and even though I think the title of the game might put some people off, you won't be disappointed.

There are no bugs to speak of, though a patch is available for download which fixes some minor annoyances.

In all, I think this is a gem that may be overlooked by some at first glance, but for those who pick it up it will be one of those games you fondly remember as among your favorites.

This is the most awaited fantasy cRPG in the past 2 years. For most part, IT DELIVERS!

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL cRPG GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED!

The environments are detailed, realistic, and can be experienced from up close. Grass, flowers and tree branches moved in both FABLE and TITAN QUEST as well; these, however, seem so true I caught myself reaching for my...antihistamines! Weather affects and day-night alterations (you have to see the elongating shadows to believe them!) are just gorgeous! More importantly, these are not just eye-candy: certain NPCs and monsters appear only when the correct combination of time-of-day and weather coincide...The horizon is far and the clouds move in endless variations. It reminded me of the sky of the original UNREAL, another visually ground-breaking game at its time. PURE VISUAL MAGIC!

The character (Geralt) can master both sword-fighting and magic spells (what is known as a Warlock). To some die-hard RPG fans this may seem like heresy, nevertheless, keep in mind that multi-classing is not unheard off. The movement repertoire for both practices are impressively designed. Especially the sword-fighting, it is at par to any console action game. And the spells (both offensive and defensive ones) are not less impressive.

Free roaming? Yes and no. One can decide which parts of the map he will visit but loading is still needed to travel even annoyingly short distances. And since quests and side-quest still have to be completed, yes, eventually a subtle, yet ever present, directionality is present.

Looting and bartering? Aaah...yes, sort of. You practically never change the sword you start off with (although you do get to improve its abilities), whereas good armor is only a little easier to come by compared to PLANESCAPE. On the upside, you get to gamble, have romantic relationships (FABLE was full of great ideas after all!) and bribe for information, so trinkets have other uses as well.

Detailed character modifiers? Nothing like the AD&D rules. You gain talents (gold, silver & bronze) which you can spend to improve your fighting or magical abilities. Pretty much like the DIABLO or the TITAN QUEST abilities systems.

So, apart for the slight action-cRPG handicap, I have only two other objections. First, the...camera placement. Once more (remember NWN2...) auto-placement can get on your nerves as it targets your character even if that is not the most logical option. Second, the controls. They need getting used to as the fighting combos are easily ruined by clicking out of sync. You do eventually get the hold of it, however it keeps glitching.

Whereas the BALDUR's GATES saga was story-heavy but (by today standards) visually lacking and the NEVERWINTER NIGHTS series was found, well, wanting in both aspects, THE WITCHER is the dream cRPG that BIOWARE was supposed to be capable of releasing all along. Finally it is here.

RECOMMENDED!

PS:

It has come up in the readers' comments, so I feel I should warn that this is the CENSORED version (the original version has some nudity and more...realistic language). Obviously, once more, ATARI believes America to be violence-insatiable yet sexually-immature.

I understand that these issues are important to many parents and they do have the right to raise their children as they see fit. Nevertheless, I would rather BOTH versions were available to chose from.

The uncensored version is available in Europe (you could try amazon.uk).

Honest reviews on The Witcher - PC

This is one of the best RPG's I've played since Morrowind. It doesn't have the depth of exploration or interaction of Morrowind. But it goes beyond the current run-of-the-mill RPG.

I usually don't pay attention to the story line because typically there isn't much of one. But this game differs. There's a story; it's interesting and it changes depending on the choices you make.

The fun factor is definitely a 5-star rating, although I think the re-play value is limited. Certainly, it's more limited than Morrowind, which I still play 5 years later.

Pros:

-Story draws you in. You want to play.

-Graphics

-Lots of quests (many are secondary, if you don't want to do them)

-Simple/limited keyboard use (a con, if you like to control the moves yourself)

-Interaction the story is linear, but the secondary quests you follow, and when you follow them, are up to you up to a point. There's significantly more interaction than Diablo II, but significantly less than Morrowind.

-Intuitive play Few "I'm stuck" areas. I played this as soon as it came out, so there was virtually no online help. But I didn't feel like I needed it. There really wasn't anything I couldn't figure out.

Cons:

-Game and scene load times (Game load takes 60-90 seconds on my laptop, and the processor is just under the minimum requirement. Scene load time takes about 30 seconds. Word is, a patch to address this problem is in the works.)

-Occasional black shadow, if playing with minimum graphics (I have a GeForce Go 7600, which is a 128 mg card running with 2g RAM.)

-Drawing a weapon is automatic and out of the player's control. There are a limited number of scenes where this is an issue; for instance, when you walk into an inn and encounter 5 or 6 bad guys with weapons already drawn and in attack mode. You have to wait for the game to respond, which means taking a hit (or 2).

-No character choice. You're a witcher and that's that. You have limited choices on how you build him up to rely on the sword or magic.

If you liked Neverwinter Nights or Baldur Gates, you will probably like The Witcher. Other similar games include Diablo, Diablo II, Lords of Destruction and Titan Quest.

**UPDATE** For PC users, the fine makers of this game have released the 1.2 patch which DRAMATICALLY improves load times (by about 1/2 according to my tests) Now I am going to be yearning for the next release!! (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) :)

I accidentally discovered this game (that's the way I usually find a new game) through an Amazon "suggestion". My life will never be the same now. Not since Planescape Torment has there been an RPG that touches on something completely different as a story line. Unlike other reviews, I'm not going to include a whole bunch of other stuff that you don't need to read... I'm just going to say you HAVE to buy The Witcher. I have only a couple of minor complaints about this game: Load times can be excruciatingly slow (but are worth it in the long run) and quest progression can be a little bit confusing at times. Other than that, I will never regret buying this game and it will be a prized "member" of my collection for years to come.

I got this because i needed it for my dad's suv. Every year we go on a few long trip vacations that take a long time to get to. I needed something to do in the car, so i wanted to bring my PS2. This Game inverter is awesome. Nothing bad has ever happened to it before. It goes on as long as you want it to. (It would be best if you had a built in DVD player in your car like i do) As i said before, there couldn't be a better game inverter. It works perfectly.

So far this product has been working well.

It does require some space for the heat to blow out, and the fan seem to constantly run.

But, the 12-volt pass through works even if the inverter is off, which is great.

I've had every version of Game Boy since it's release in the 80's. To be honest, before I bought this I had forgotten all about the Micro. My personal favorite remains the clamshell SP version, but this one is quite good as well. The pictures don't really give you a sense of size, but if you have a Game Boy cartridge just know the screen is smaller in length by comparison. That's freakin small! The advantage is less pixelation and perhaps better battery life. The speakers are almost nonexistent so plan on bringing headphones if audio is important to you. I happen to enjoy headphones. The weight is very light and like the SP version, a Game Boy Advance cartridge sits flush with the unit's body. Instead of normal games, I use a flash cartridge that allows me to store a library of 30 or 40 GBA games, plus emulators for NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Game Gear, and original Game Boy games. Despite it's small size, the Micro is able to render everything sharply; it's just abysmally tiny. Don't get this version if you have fat fingers! Other than that, this is the special edition that has Mario on the back. If you're going to get a Game Boy Micro, this is the one you want.

Cons (all minor):

As many have noted, it took forever for this to be released; but now it's here. Have used it with a Yamaha electric piano, and it just works. There are almost no instructions, but all you do is plug the USB cable into your XBox (or USB hub, of course), and plug a MIDI cable from your instrument to the adapter.

This has actually gotten me to start learning keyboards after many years of procrastination.

Note that the adapter does not include a MIDI cable -so be sure you have one.

This works exactly like it's supposed to and is easy to connect. The bad news is that it is hard to find. If you have a midi compatible keyboard or guitar and really enjoy rockband then get it if you can find it.

Honest reviews on Xbox 360 Rock Band 3 Midi PRO-Adapter

I bought this specifically to use it with an Alesis DM6 drum set, so I can't speak for its performance with other MIDI instruments, but for the most part this works great. There is no noticeable latency and it works as advertised. The only problem I've had is that it sometimes messes up detecting a yellow + green cymbal hit. It either drops one cymbal or the other, or incorrectly adds a tom hit. This seems to be a known issue. It also sometimes drops a tom when hitting two at once. Besides those issues, it works fine.

Then when i learned that i could play them on rock band with this i knew i had to get it. I have the Alesis DM6 Electronic kit and i was glad to see that they were compatible. When i bought this thing it took me a while to set it up cuz i didnt know i had to run it through my computer using the program MIDI-OX. But once i got all that setup it worked flawlessly. No lag. No hassle. No problems. Idk why ur still reading this review and not clicking the add to cart button.

If you're looking at this game and the reviews, then you're obviously curious! Some "professional" review site's might convince you that this game is a mere 6/10, but don't be fooled! Let's take this into account... Do you enjoy the strange and unusual, and sometimes creepy experiences? This game has that. Do you enjoy the occasional grotesque twisting of your childhood fantasies? That's a check too!To be straight forward, I am a fan of pretty much anything Alice in Wonderland. I also love weird, grotesque-ish, twisted things, lol! I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Now it's obvious we all have our own opinions about subjects, but here are my reasons for enjoying Alice: Madness Returns.

1. The original American McGee's Alice! I never had the pleasure to play it back when it was released, but the HD remake was a welcome surprise! Now here's an important note: If you purchase Alice:MR new, you get a redeem code that gives you the original Alice, free of charge. Without this redeem code (assuming you purchase used), it is 800 MS Points ($10) on the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

2. Graphics! They were beautiful in this game, all you have to do is google the images, and you'll see what I'm talking about! Think animation kind of sorta (but not exactly) like The Incredibles, it's exaggerated and "cartoon-ish" (for lack of a better word). The only oddity about the graphics is sometimes the textures appear "muddy" due to not fully loading quickly, but that's not a negative and in no way impacts the game! It was just obvious... >_>

3. The environments were stunning, from a beautiful forest, to menacing castle, and even the streets of London! Most games stick to one theme, such as being dark and scary to the end, or bright and happy, etc. Alice: MR had instances of gorgeous and serene, contrasting to the dark and ominous. They were the things of a beautiful, daydreaming nightmare! :D

4. Story! Ok, so this isn't going to win any awards for most ground breaking storytelling ever, I get that... But! Alice: MR investigates the tragic fire Alice survived. It's like one big mystery, one that only Alice can solve, whilst her mind slips further into maddening doom! At the climax of the story, I found myself in a "WTF, no way?!?!" moment. Great stuff O_O

5. Alice! I loved this version of this beloved character. She's so gloomy yet spunky! The odds are incredibly stacked against her, yet she's got that "I'm kicking ass one problem at a time" attitude! She's tormented, broken, and struggling to survive. Despite this, she has a so much personality, it was very much an enjoyable experience! Not to mention the sexy "swish swish!" of the Vorpal Blade, and she has a great assortment of dresses, lol. She's definitely not the dead persona Tim Burton had in his recent film adaptation... Just an opinion >_>

6. Enemies! Overall, they were pretty freaking sweet! LOVED the Card Guards in this game, very Hellish. The "Ruin" enemy gets a little repetitive, but, I really started to dig the possessed dollies, lol! I'll be having nightmares about those for a while, lmao! Oh, and two words... "Bitch Babies" xD (Note: That's really the name of an enemy in the game, so please don't punish me Amazon, I'm speaking truth! T-T)

I can go on and on, but it comes down to saying, this game was AWESOME, lol! 2 games to play made it a lengthy adventure. Now I should talk about gameplay before I end this. The fighting basically comes down to hack n' slash type of play. Depending on how you like your games, that might mean something. It's not a deep strategy kind of game. If you've played Devil May Cry, then I should say it's not going to be a difficult game to play. You don't need immense skill to get past enemies (on normal anyway, I can't speak for Nightmare difficulty). It's a good game for the casual gamer, because there isn't a learning curve. It's linear, as well. You can go off the beaten path and find collectibles and goodies used to upgrade weaponry, but this isn't an experience like, say, Dragon Age. Linear is not a bad thing though! For a hardcore experience, I dare you to play American McGee's Alice on Nightmare. That should be enough to drive someone insane... Damn those unfair deaths T-T

There will be plenty of combat opportunities, a plethora of platforming, and some puzzle solving. The puzzles are nothing complex, just little distractions. It's like doing a super easy crossword, but it totally makes you feel smart when you finish it, lol.

The game is rated Mature by the ESRB. Take that as you will, because you are the best judge on what you allow your kids or yourself to play. Personally, if I had a 10 year old (I don't have kids, so don't comment my parenting, lol), I don't think I'd let them play this, but then again, I've been online and heard kids playing M rated games like Gears of War and GTA IV, so what do I know? :P

MINOR SPOILER (I think >_O): Do you hate leveling your weapons and collecting stuff all over again? Well not to worry! Alice: MR has a "New Game +" option when you finish! So there is no worries about having to recollect and upgrade your weapons, nor do you have to re-increase your health meter! This all carries over to different difficult settings, as well! Neat :D

As far as the running of the game, Alice: MR ran smooth. I have the Xbox 360 version, and I always install my games (not 100% sure if that makes a BIG difference). Not once did I experience the game crashing or freezing, etc. The load times were acceptable and combat was often fluid without loading hiccups, which was nice :]

That about wraps up my review! Not everyone will love this, beauty is in they eye of the beholder and all that jazz. Fans of Alice in Wonderland type of stuff will enjoy this. I LOVED IT!!! lol! So if this review convinced you any, give it a shot! It's definitely a game that should be experienced first hand! I apologize in advance for anything I may have left out, but happy gaming on your mad journey through Wonderland! ~_^

I've been waiting for this game to release since I first heard news of it last year and now that I'm playing it, it didn't disappoint. This is a platforming action game and both aspects are done really well. It's visually rich with tons of detail and the camera work is done well. The backgrounds vary from vivid and serenely beautiful to dark, gritty and gory. Even the costume changes as you make it to new locations are nice little touches that add to all the attention to detail that was paid to the graphics. Even when you fall and die it looks cool. Standing out are the parts with the motion comic-like cutscenes that are dark and violent. Sort of like reading rainbow on a very bad acid trip.

Platforming feels solid. Double jumping not only looks beautiful with a cool graphical flourish but the "float" ability that allows you to glide and string multiple double jumps together is useful and cool to look at. The fighting is also done really well. I like dedicated melee and ranged buttons that allow the combat to flow seamlessly instead of constantly switching weapons back & forth as the situation and enemies demand a major improvement over the first. Theres also a dodge/dash ability that's both very useful and is awesome to look at. Locking on to enemies to and being able to change to another target during battle is very useful and also an upgrade from the first game.

Exploration is rewarded and encouraged which I love. It's not just a straight road through the game. There are items & memories to find if you go off the beaten path. Your first power is "shrink sense" which is sort like detective mode from Batman Arkham Asylum. It lets you shrink down in size to access new paths that only your smaller size allows you to access, but also gives everything a UV glow so you can see hidden signs and platforms you normally would have missed. Collecting teeth to upgrade weapons, finding other items and snouts to unlock hidden paths feel very rewarding. You can go into first person mode for more precise aiming to take out enemies or to aim at pig snouts to unlock new paths.

This game is everything I wanted from the first one and more. I bought the original when it first released and I'm on my second copy I just loved it so much. My only problem with the original was I"m not a PC gamer and using a keyboard and mouse was something I'm not use to. Being able to play the new game with a console controller and getting a free download of the original to play on my xbox with a controller is amazing.

For the original American McGee's Alice fans out there, this game not only lives up to our high expectations, it far surpasses it. We all know it has been rumored for at LEAST five years, and it's been painful waiting for news.

I preordered this a few months ago for both PC and XBox, and have experimented with both for a few hours each.

The graphics are art; nothing more. How refreshing it is to have a game that isn't attempting to make everything look like the real world. This is pop surrealism at it's finest. American McGee has created a stunningly beautiful and often times creepy world for Alice to play in.

I'm rather shocked to hear that this game has received negative reviews from websites. Even if I were unbiased, I still view this game as an incredible journey. The gameplay itself is smooth and easy to pick up on. Weapon upgrades customize the experience while keeping with the basics. The NPC's are challenging, though you have four options of difficulty to choose from when you begin the game. The focus fire is magnificent, the dodge is not only easy to use but also a lovely graphic, and Alice shrinking for a different view of the world is quite clever.

It's impossible for me to find any draw backs. A previous reviewer could only find that he didn't like the pepper shaker, and that was the worst he had to say. The pepper shaker is a weapon from the duchess in the first game and also appears in the book, so that made sense for a weapon based on Alice.

Truly, a remarkably beautiful game, and for all of us American McGee fans, it's what we've been waiting for. You won't be sorry. :)

Honest reviews on Alice: Madness Returns - Xbox 360

I don't like Game informer magazines for their "reviews" they could never be more off on games then they are... apparently game informer gave this game a 6.75 and Play station magazine gave it a 5 (both out of 10). And I really don't understand why? (this review is me playing it ½ of the game in one night..i had to go to sleep as I had work in the morning....sad face)

I give this game a 4.5/5 I got it last night at midnight when I went to get my copy of Duke Nukem Forever (apparently they are allowed to do that now haha game stop never let me do that before). My faith was never altered with the so called "bad reviews".

Graphics: I'm impressed NO of course they are not "L.a. Noir" graphics... is any game like that but it?? It gave me the story book feel. ALICE is a STORY, remember there's a book called Alice in wonderland? So I really like how they used that approach better then super realistic, yes her eyes are big but that's how the original Alice was in "American McGee's Alice." I like how her skirt flows when she moves how her hair is not stiff the characters in the real world look a lot more creepy then in wonderland. Wonderland when first going in there I was like "whoa it's a lot brighter and more colorful then I remember." And then I remember the begging of the game she is getting therapy to repair her broke mind (so its half color have creepy). So yes wonderland doesn't start out as desolate and creepy as the original Alice but it is wonderland after all.

Game play: this is where all those professional reviewers bitched.... WHY? What was wrong with the way the game is played?!? She runs smoothly its not a stiff camera you can control where she looks. The jumping/gliding is all smooth. I did not have an issue, is the PS3 version not as good as the xbox (I doubt it). Dodge is fine all the buttons once pressed do as they are suppose to do... What was wrong with it? The fighting is simple, and you can target on enemies by holding down LT, and then attack with your weapons. So... what was the issue with game play? Oh right it has PUZZLES in it... im sorry I thought they were professional game reviewers apparently they never played a game where you had to jump around from plat form to plat form before.... (I had no issues with ANY of the puzzles and I don't mind jumping though when I started out I failed at gliding haha... it was late...) its and action game with puzzles. If you don't like puzzles then don't play this game. Sorry its not a FPS.

Story: So far I like it its interesting it's pretty much questions the events that happened when Alice's family was killed in the fire, was it really the cat? There's and old woman at the begging of the game who's apparently black mailing Alice. Throughout the game there are sliver objects that Alice can pick up to recall memories, a house is her family, a needle is a doctor and the glasses is the psychiatrist that you live with. I don't mind them I think they are cool however they are BIRGHT shinny sliver (to stand out) but it clashes with the world a little bit. I think they could have been a little more original with these items. *Small spoiler* you meet the duchess again.... And sadly she is hardly as creepy as she was in the original... she ask for your help you help then carry on... why was I not allowed to kill her again shes so hella creepy...

Weapons/and upgrades: you get weapons of course one is her famed knife, the second weapon you get is the pepper shooter. I love the knife... but the pepper shooter...? It's a gun that shoots pepper... is it just me or dose anyone else see that pepper is not a good weapon? Slight complaint but I LOVED the weapons in the original game and all the witty things the chesar cat said when you got them. The upgrades are simple, you collect teeth and when you have enough teeth then you put points in the weapon easy as that. Makes then stronger. (why teeth I don't know haven't figured that out yet)

Original Alice download: I mean really that's AWESOME, a free game with a game. It's a complete start to end game on whatever system you buy it on. So if you don't like the game for whatever reason you still get a free game. I love the original Alice and I'm very excited to have it on my Xbox.

But it impressed me with all this negative talk I always kept my hopes up and I was right it's a fun game but if you are still unsure then RENT it. And if you don't like puzzles where you have to JUMP don't play this game because there are puzzles and you will have to jump around. IT IS NOT COD or any other FPS game. Its story based but the fighting is not bad, I found it smooth and not clunky at all. I really don't know what version of this game the reviewers were playing...?

Give it a shot you are your own best reviewer not some guy behind a desk who doesn't even want to play the game but has to in ordered to get paid... and when did game informer EVER have and clips or articles on Alice? They gave me the impression they never cared about the game in general. Sorry its not GTA5 yet calm down. I really only get game informers now because they are free with my GameStop membership..

Over all great game can't wait to finish it will update review if anything else life changing happens in the game. (like I jump around to much I hate it?)

the graphics are good and the levels are imaginative, the combat is slightly repetitive but thats ok the story is pretty demented even by my numbed by south park standards. I'd say this one is more of a rental and it comes with the original american mcgee's alice which is a big plus you can play the first(which i reccomend) then jump right where the first leaves off. All in all not terrible but not the best platformer ever.
