I purchased this game for a good laugh, and that is exactly what I got from it. It is a funny game and easy to play. There are several events to play.

1. Backyard Shooting this game was great. You shoot at bears, bottles, cans, birds, etc. A lot of fun.

2. Bottle Opening Contest this was probably my least favorite game. It's funny at first, but pretty pointless.

3. Dynamite Fishing this was the best game out of all of them. You character is in a little row boat throwing dynamite at the fish in the water. Very fun and entertaining.

4. Outhouse Hunt was hard to play at first. You have to find the outhouse in the dark and you encounter bears and skunks along the way that lower your life line.

5. Mower Racing This game was awesome and a lot of fun.

6. Quick Saw Contest (Locked) You have you unlock this game. It's a pretty basic game, you saw a log....good workout for the arms.

7. Toilet Seat Throwing just like horseshoes except you use a toilet seat and plunger.

8. Get Off My Lawn (Locked) I have not unlocked this game yet.

9. Let's Barricade (Locked) I have not unlocked this game yet.

10. Soda Brewer (Locked) I have not unlocked this game yet.

11. Sound Safari (Locked) I have not unlocked this game yet.

Overall, this was a great fun game if you enjoy redneck humor. And to comment on the review that said he/she could not beat the computer, I did.

How do you rate something like this? Strictly for the game quality, it's probably only 2 or 3 stars. But aas a party game, it's a blast.

Basically, it's a very limited selection of simple mini-games. But the theme is really amusing, and the games are easy to understand, so it's the perfect party game. When I pulled it out at my last party, everyone got a good laugh, and even the non-gamers in the crowd were glued to the set. And the price is definitely right.

Oh, and as for the kids, are they really going to be scarred by farting cows, toilet seats as horseshoes, and an outhouse search in the dark???

I bought this for my husband who hates video games. How can you not want to play a game that shoots things in your backyard, toliet seat tossing(horseshoes), dynamite fishing, beer bottle opening with your teeth (try not to crack your teeth), outhouse searching (in the dark). It is kind of like My Redneck Wedding on CMT. If you like that you will probably like this game.

But like the show this game is pretty crude for children. Especially the outhouse searching, you try to hold your bladder while trying not to be scared of animals in the dark. The picture shows Rating Pending... But my case shows E+10. (Probably more like 15 and up.)

It would certainly be fun at a grown-up party.

Game is a good party game. Not one that I sit down and play alone. Good for some laughs but graphics and navigation through the game is not as highly polished as some of the mainstream games.

This game is awsome. I got it as a gag gift for my wife for Christmas to go with our new WII. We have had several WII parties and it is always the hit of the evening. Some of the games may be difficult for younger kids. It just goes to show there is a redneck in all of us. Great buy!!!!

I'll just start and say that the game is fantastic and really had me mesmerized and hooked from beginning to end. But this review is for the content you get from the premium edition and whether or not the extra $20 cost is worth it. Here's what I think of the items.

The little artbook is a nice sample of the full size hardcover version. The numerous concept art for the various characters, enemies, weapons, etc are enjoyable to look at and I'd say the quality of the images are on par with what's been shown in the Bioshock 2 artbook. The item itself has a weathered look similar to the Bioshock Infinite logo and the material used on the hardcover seems to be some kind of fabric, but I'm not sure. A neat item.

I'm still surprised over how tiny the Handyman figure is. Even though the product description did say its a board game figurine, I was hoping it would be bigger or at the very least, be made of metal. This item overall reminds me of one of those 25 cent capsule toys, i.e. cheap and completely unremarkable.

The "Devil's Kiss" lithograph is okay. Again, I was hoping it would be slightly bigger (its basically the size of a postcard) but I wasn't expecting a full-size picture either. Its too bad they didn't include any additional lithographs of the other vigors such as Shock Jockey or Murder of Crows, which brings me to...

The "Murder of Crows" keychain. Its a pretty cool trinket and I'd say its about the right size for a keychain to where it won't look obnoxious when being used as such. I can even see this being used as a charm as well.

Minus a few songs, the soundtrack wasn't particularly memorable for me. However, if you do happen to enjoy the music, then the digital download for the whole thing is definitely worth it. Despite what I said though, having the soundtrack to any game game is always a nice bonus. I will say that the song "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" is pretty soothing and sticks out among the rest considering it has lyrics.

Getting into the in-game content. The upgrade pack gives you three gears (basically perks) that are exclusive to this and the Songbird edition: Bull Rush, Extra! Extra!, and Betrayer. Bull Rush is probably the most useful out of the three because even though it says your melee strikes have a chance to knock back an enemy (more like tossing them like a ragdoll) after a sprint, you don't have to sprint at all and the knock back from a melee is guaranteed (not on the heavy hitter enemies of course). Extra! Extra! gives you ten silver eagles for each voice recording you pick up and Betrayer causes enemies under the influence of the player's Possession vigor to explode when killed. I found their uses too limited to be useful. All in all, nothing special or game-changing.

Finally, the avatar items. I do like the Booker Dewitt costume, it definitely has style. The ladies get an elegant dress as worn by Elizabeth. Unfortunately, you don't get anything else in the form of accessories or props, but its not like avatar items are the main draw to this edition anyway.

Overall, I found the content of the premium version to be OK, but not worth an extra $20. However, I've seen and bought worse (and more expensive) collector's editions of games in the past and I wouldn't consider this to be one of them. But I wouldn't regret just buying the regular game either. So choose wisely on which edition of the game you plan on purchasing.

Bioshock Infinite was worth the wait, I can say that much. The game is very much like its predecessors, but also different. The story is the best yet in my opinion, the relationship between Booker and Elizabeth is realistic and makes the game. My only complaint is the combat now only limits you to being able to carry 2 weapons rather than a full arsenal of guns like in previous games and some of the vigors (replacing plasmids) seem overpowered, but the new skyhook combat is a blast and very fast paced. The story will stick with you long after you finish playing and the ending is the best of any game I think I've ever played. It took me about 15 hours to 100% the game on hard, but I have yet to play 1999 difficulty. Highly recommended to anybody looking for an amazing story with the gameplay to back it up.

I would recommend buying the game but the premium edition was a big rip off. The items are small and of poor quality. Don't bother with the premium, just buy the regular game.

Honest reviews on Bioshock Infinite: Premium Edition -Xbox 360

Many people compared this to the first Bioshock game and found it a bit lacking. I could not do that since I've never played the first games so to me this game was incredible! The game mechanics to meek some getting used to but because of the environment I didn't mind the learning curve, I usually don't play shooter games.

Bioshock, for six years, was my favourite game of all time; no exception. Then I played Bioshock Infinite. I don't know which one was a better game. It's beautiful, compelling, and has a high replay-ability. Not to mention it has an ending to rival its predecessor.

Let me start out by saying that I spent a long time trying to figure out how to download this... which is a pain but I am hoping to pass on this information so no one has to go through it again. Given the lower price then the actual full copy, every Tropico fan should purchase this rather than have to wait for the disc to arrive. When you purchase this item you will get an email with the information regarding the product key but no download link. Here is what you need to do in order to get this to download (*Please note* you need the full version of Tropico 4 for this to work):

Go to the Kalypso(manufacturer of Tropico 4) download launcher in this link

**UPDATE** Amazon does not allow links so just google "Kalypso Download Launcher"

If you have an account (which you should) then login, otherwise create a new account and link the product key from the original game with that account.

Click on the "redeem code" link of the webpage

Type in the code provided to you when this is purchased

Once you see that it has gone through successfully, open up Tropico 4. The main title screen should pop up and at the bottom prompt you to download the Modern Times DLC. Once you proceed and download it, it will install and you should be able to play.

*NOTE* Make sure you have the most current updates for Tropico 4 before you install the expansion pack. I ran into the issue where when a new update came out, I had to redownload and install the expansion pack again.

Assuming that you have successfully installed it, the expansion pack is fantastic! It has great new features like new modern buildings, edicts, and scenarios that creates a whole new dimension of gameplay. You have to be a fan of Tropico 4 however, this DLC will not change your mind about Tropico if you did not like the original Tropico 4. For all the Tropico fans out there this is a great buy, and for only $19.99 you are adding a lot more hours of fun and entertainment.

I can't decide whether this expansion deserves a 3 or a 4 star rating, so for the sake of argument I'll give it a 3.5, but Amazon won't allow that, so 3 it is.

Edit: A lot of the missions are bugged, maps are re-used during the campaign even with only 12 of them. I'm not finding the later missions to be much fun and the references to the current political problems in the world seem forced and unfunny. Between the bugged quests and disappointing missions I'm going to lower the score to a 2, there are just too many little annoyances that are ruining this expansion for me.

I pre-ordered this on Steam for $16.99, if you're thinking of buying this remember that if you own Tropico 4 on Steam you need to get Modern Times from Steam as well. The boxed version of this expansion for some reason costs $29.99, do yourself a favor and just get this one instead, it's only a small download, about 600 MBs or so, took me about 7 minutes on a mediocre connection.

So, what does this expansion offer? You get 12 new missions in a continuing story on different islands much like Tropico 4's main story line. As far as I can tell the island designs are a mix of new and old, but I'll have to comment further on that when I complete it, I'm only on the third island so far.

One of the new features is the Time Line, it's a series of historical events that will have an impact on your island. For example the Cuban Missile Crisis will force you to use the Conscription edict, and the Bird Flu Scare will increase the price of beef, and so on. You will also unlock the new buildings in the expansion at certain time intervals, so that you gradually get access to them and upgrade as new things are developed.

The new buildings are distinctly different from the Tropico 4 ones in that they lack the personality and the detail. Most of the new buildings are just gray pieces of concrete with windows that look uninspiring. Which is a shame because part of Tropico's charm is the little details added to the buildings that make them distinctly Tropican. The new buildings feel like they belong in a Sim City game and feel really out of place most of the time. Some of them are very useful and sadly some of them make the game a bit too easy. Tropico 4 was already a cakewalk compared to 3, and the Modern Times buildings such as the Bio Farm, the Organic Ranch and the Modern Apartment Building are a bit too good. I found myself just flying through the first two islands with a boat load of money and abundance of happy Tropicans. I wouldn't mind if Kalypso balanced some of these buildings out, maybe make them a bit more expensive or turn up their upkeep so that the game isn't too easy.

You also get 10 new edicts relevant to Modern Times. Some are good, some are bad, some seem a bit too good. I would have liked to see a few more interesting ones. I do think whoever put in the "Ban Social Media" edict deserves a pay raise, it's probably one of the funnier things of this expansion. The new edicts probably won't blow your mind or make you think, but at least they're somewhat useful.

Now on to my biggest complaints. First of all, it seems like there wasn't that much effort put into actually changing or adding gameplay. There is no learning curve, you can just win games the exact same way as before, the Time Line may add some extra grievances but not enough to actually change the flow of the game. The new buildings mostly function the same as the old ones. It's just trading the old charming buildings for the new, garish and soulless concrete skyscrapers and gigantic farms. Its charm and tongue-in-cheek humor are what sets Tropico apart from other building simulations and I feel like these modern Tropican islands are just dull. They could have added some flavor to the new buildings but most are eyesores and make me wish they weren't so damn good so that I wouldn't feel obliged to build them over the older ones. One thing I do really find irritating that is that you have to demolish old farms and ranches to make room for the new ones, which are gigantic I might add. Because you can't just demolish at your whim you will have to wait till all your goods are out, fire all your workers, wait for the demo guy, free up more space and then build your new things. This is bad design, you should either start with the majority of these buildings available or make them upgradeable somehow. It's not game breaking, but it's not very fun either.

One minor complaint is the voice acting. Several of the major characters, such as Sunny and Antonio Lopez, now have different voice actors, but instead of replacing all the dialogue they just added the new dialogue with the new actors to go along with the old dialogue from the old actors. It sounds weird, especially with the new Sunny having a completely different inflection and accent. I can live with it, I just found it rather odd to hear two different voices for the same character.

Still, I think the Steam version was decent value, you get some new, albeit ugly buildings, some new edicts, 12 new missions and new islands for $19.99. It's better value than the terrible DLCs they've been releasing at least. I don't think this expansion will offer much replay value, but you should be able to get a few hours out of each map at least.

It's not great, it's not terrible, it's alright. It's not a must-have unless you really love Tropico, but hardcore fans may not like the new buildings.

Best Deals for Tropico 4 - Modern Times DLC

I love this game and all it's upgrades. I orginally gave this a 4 star, but have upgraded my review to 5 stars after spending much more time playing the expansion. The game play still hasn't really changed, but the upgraded building are fun and well thought out. Now if I could only start the game with them....

Installation was a snap. You buy the DLC and Amazon gives you a code. You then open the game and hit the "Enter code" button and cut and paste your new code into the box and then click "Continue". The game asks if you want to download new content. You say go-for-it and the game patches itself. Mine took about 7 minutes and then it was good to good. No muss, no fuss.

Overall, I love this game and would recommend it to any wanna-be city building dictators out there.

Honest reviews on Tropico 4 - Modern Times DLC

After playing much tropico set in the 50s-70s, it's a nice touch to add the more modern buildings and challenges. I like the campaign, the storyline is full of goofy characters in typical tropico style, and the campaign is also a good challenge. I really enjoy this addition to the game.

Modern Times is really good. My only complaint is there is a bit of deterioration in some of the frames. It's an exciting upgrade. I love the biofarms but I dunno how to get my car factories to go hybrid. All in All U will love this upgrade.

Short, boring, makes no sense sometimes. Uninteresting to bigger kids, too difficult for smaller kids. You can go through the game pretty quickly, and half the free play games don't even make sense. What a waste.

The game was a knock off version of Mario party. There are only 5 boards to choose from and once you unlock them there's nothing to do. You have no choice but to play against computer players who are all difficult to beat. The mini games in this game are either hard to beat or make no sense. Don't recommend.

You spend half your time waiting to play a game while the computer players play. The actual games you play are almost decent but you spend such little time actually playing them its not worth it. We played the game for about an hour, of that hour, we probably actually played games for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time was waiting for loading, watching the computers players play ( thats fun) and time spent on the game board rolling the dice. Do not buy. thankfully it just coat us a $1 at RedBox

If you are like me and just enjoy working your way through a campaign (rather than getting involved in all the multiplayer aspects of the game) then this is too short. My assumption is that most people buying now, way after BC2 was originally released, fall into the same category of buyer as me. However, that being said, it's only $18 and the graphics and overall gameplay are great.

Okay the game is fun, but anyone who plays Battlefield or Battlefield Bad Company, knows that most the fun is online play. However EA crippled the greatest hits edition by not including the VIP code for "first hand purchasers" so that you can't download new maps. Which means you can play all of 4 maps online. It sucks badly. Seriously I spent forever looking for my code and couldn't find it, then had to search the internet to find out this version didn't come with it.

This game is only okay. The actual game is good, but it is easily beaten within a short time. However, the online gaming experience is what really makes this game good. The places are great and I like how there are different online games to play.

The one player game: Okay.

Multiplayer: Great.

Honest reviews on Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Greatest Hits - Playstation 3

I love the battlefield series, but hate that EA didn't include the VIP code, that means you can only play 4 multi player maps, if you buy Greatest Hits, buy it used, because it won't have VIP anyways! It costs 10 dollars to unlock the other 12 maps, not including Vietnam

It is a fun game. But it is very very short. It is finished in a week with around under 2 hours of playing each day. Of course, if you play online with other people, you can play much longer.

People will disagree with me, but I actually like the new interpretation of Dante. They look the IDEA of Dante and made it applicable to contemporary society. I could see if they tried to throw together random elements to create something they thought was "edgy" or "cool", and it didn't come across as realistic. You would see through that quickly. But this version of Dante (in an alternate dimension) does make sense in the context of the world he lives in. They actually thought about his character and crafted his design accordingly. As a result the new Dante is recognizably human and realistic.

But maaaaan, his dialogue is terrible!

If they do a sequel (which I hope they do), they seriously need to write him better one liners. It's frustrating b/c sometimes he will spout out witty or insightful lines with convincing voice acting and delivery; but later he gives us these "gems": "You're dumped.", "It's your turn, Barbie!", "You won't get away!".

Some of this fits the new persona. Dante is less intelligent, and driven by adolescent hormones and emotions; he's impudent as ever. If this were high school Dante would be the bully or the kid who cuts class to smoke pot behind the bleachers. Dialogue is hit or miss.

The story, while straightforward, is compelling and entertaining. There are a couple of intense storytelling moments that put previous entries to shame. The ending is predictable, but it leaves things open for interesting sequels.

People complained the game is too easy, compared to DMC3 and 4. Normal mode is too easy, yes. But if you do Son of Sparda or higher, it is EXTREMELY difficult to get through a level without dying once. There's a boss fight were I died 6 times before I could kill it on Son of Sparda mode, and I'm a DMC vet.

Combat has been simplified. Dante doesn't have nearly as many moves now. It's also WAY too easy to get an S style rank. I will say though.....combat is more fun and entertaining than in the previous games. If you do all those flashy combos and get an SSS out of it, it is weirdly satisfying, even if you didn't work that hard to get it. I missed not having tons of moves and guns to choose from, but it is easy to switch between weapons this time. Sadly, the Kablooey weapon is completely useless.

Combat is fluid and responsive. Jump canceling remains, and requires strict timing (except for the Orbis.) DmC is fun, even addictive; even if combat isn't that deep! Pac Man wasn't that deep either, but still fun.

In terms of graphics, level design, and art direction, this is the best DMC game. Ever. Overall I would rank this the 3rd best game of the series, above DMC4 and DMC2. In terms of how fun and addictive it is to play, I rank it 2nd, behind Devil May Cry 3.

Just a note about my bias, I was inspired to write this review to counteract the undeservedly negative reviews this game is getting, but the review reflects my honest opinion.

Just a note, this is not a one star game. It's well put together, it looks great, the controls are responsive, etc...

My pedigree: I imagine that many people reading these reviews are people who have been fans of Devil May Cry in the past and want to know what other people with that background think about the new game. Obviously there's a contingent of those fans who are extremely unhappy (some who have actually played the game, some who apparently have not).

I bought the original Devil May Cry when it came out for the PS2, I loved it, and eventually beat it on Dante Must Die. I skipped DMC2 (based on deservedly mediocre reviews) until much later. I bought Devil May Cry 3 when it came out as well, and eventually beat it on Dante Must Die. DMC 3 is probably one of my favorite games of all time (liked it enough to buy it two times, original and later the Special Edition). I bought 4 and enjoyed it well, though not as much as 3.

In summary, I've played every DMC for a significant amount of time, multiple times through.

For me the draw of Devil May Cry has always been equal parts story and gameplay.

DMC: Devil May Cry

Like most, I was initially unhappy with the character redesign and the fact that it was a reboot, mostly because I wanted more payoff on Nero's story from DMC4. I actually remained pretty ambivalent about the game through most of its development. However, as the last few trailers were released and I played the demo I figured I'd buy the game if it got good reviews (I probably would've bought it anyway). It actually got better reviews than I expected, so I bought it and I'm really glad I did. So far, I've played through the game on the medium difficulty (Nephilim) and beaten most of the secret missions, probably for a total of 15 hours so far.

Gameplay: It's a lot of fun. It's true, from what I've played, the game is a little easier, but I didn't mind that so much. The combat is smooth, it seems easier to actually make Dante do what you want him to do, which I don't think is a bad thing. The enemies are diverse, and some of them are suitably a pain to deal with (in a good way), and require different strategies. I also really liked the levels, they aren't too long and are paced better than probably any game in the series (based on my recollection). This game is also probably more platforming heavy than any past Devil May Cry and I liked it.

Story: Story-wise, this game is probably only second to DMC 3. I actually like the new Dante, he's really not that different from the old Dante, a little arrogant and full of one-liners. Sure, some of the lines are cringe-worthy, but that's a tradition that goes back to the original Devil May Cry ("I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light!"). The plot is interesting and the roles are well acted. Honestly, having played this game, I'm more interested in continuing the story with these characters than Nero.

In conclusion: If you're a fan of the Devil May Cry series, you should play this game and make up your own mind. It, in my mind, really captures all the essential qualities of what makes the Devil May Cry series enjoyable and is just plain fun to play.

Best Deals for DMC: Devil May Cry

DmC. Probably the most hated reboot in history, and one that was unjustly flamed before its release. Now it is here, and the Devil May Cry fanbase is aflame with haters and crusaders, flaming and defending the game respectively. What is DmC, you ask?

Well, if you live under a rock, I'll tell you. DmC is the latest iteration of the very successful 'Devil May Cry' series, handled by veteran Japanese developer Hideki Kamiya. The game is known for its hard difficulty, stylish combat, zany enemies and situations. Dante inhabits a world that seems very aware of Demons in the original, and what begins as a simple quest turns into a massive showdown by the end of the series. Now, onto DmC . . .

I was never a fan of the character change appearance wise, I personally saw no reason for it. Yes, it's a reboot, but would you change Sonic's appearance? What about Halo 4, which was 'essentially' a reboot? Why do you think they stayed true to Master Chief's appearance? Because it is expected, and fans always need something to tie them to the previous arcs. Halo 4 designed chief to be similar yet different, and while he has a slightly different appearance, you knew it was Master Chief. DmC's dante has none of that familiarity. I was okay with that, however, despite the fact it seemed that NT purposely attempted to change Dante's appearance. They changed him into being an emo character, and again, his appearance was okay. It was his new personality that pissed me off.

He wasn't funny. He wasn't likable. He was the typical angsty teen character with an over-sexualized persona. Again, I believe that NT TOTALLY missed the mark of his character. Just because its a reboot, it doesn't mean you change a character's personality, especially one so dank. Think of amazing spider-manThe reboot got spider-man RIGHT. He didn't have sex, he was awkward, didn't even swear, and was funny. He was a good spider-man cause he stayed in character. This Dante is nothing like the old one. The game actually begins with a very cheap sex scene, and along the way he swears like a bandit and the game itself is filled with cheap sexual references. It's not like i'm some prude, but I really hate when there's sexual situations with no correlation to the story. I think NT wanted an "edgy" game, so they uselessly added sex and swearing for no reason. 78% of the swearing/sexual situations are completely unneeded.

Characters lame-ness doesn't end at Dante. The new girl, Kate, is very pathetic as a character, not only unlikable but just totally vapid. It's sad because she is actually developed, but her script and lines and actions just make her a bad character. She is interesting at face-value, but once you actually experience her, you'll begin to hate her. Some people like her, so i feel like it kinda depends on your personality. The stars of this game are sadly Vergil and Mundus. Vergil is portrayed perfectly in terms of intellect mixed with insanity. The game ends with him taking the cliche now-i'm-a-bad-guy-superhuman routine, but other than that he was interesting. Mundus was very well written, and he was threatening as a character. Again, NF tried to do the "I'm a villain but look at my sad story" thing, but I felt that it came across as forced in one of the biggest blunders in gaming, destroying Vergil's character in one blow. (Don't see why they were in such a rush to make him evil . . . )

Now, onto gameplay. Don't listen to the haters. The combat isn't simplified in a bad sense. I played the originals, and while the combat there was fun, somewhat bad controls and camera ruined the experience. Here, things are different. Each attack looks like it was crafted with care and grace, and watching Dante hop from enemy to enemy, watching how is body moved and compensated for the weight of his weaponsreally showed how much care the animators took in his movements. Everything looked natural, which lead to very cinematic fight scenes. The game is by no means "easy" but it is not as difficult as the original games. However, the cinematic aspect of it is very well done, and the only thing that trumps the original in this game.

Music. The music fits the MOOD PERFECTLY. Again, very creative people made this game. The music is amazing. Every set-change, every boss battle, and every attack have their own motifs, and the music combined with excellent sound design (Each strike has its own sound, a very satisfying meaty sound) leads to everything in the game carrying its own weight.

The gameplay and music elements are fine, and the person to blame for this game's failings are (1. The head writer, script-writer) (2 character designer)

The story isn't good. There, I said it. It is coherent, but by no means is it good. It is VERY cliche, starting with the young man with great power who is disillusioned with the world, and hates everything. Suddenly a very barren girl character comes along, and he all of the sudden loves her, because she's a girl and main hero characters always love the girl. In the end, the edgy brother turns on you, in a very lame speech that comes from every super-human medium in existence. "WE'RE MORE POWERFUL WE SHOULD RULE LALALALALALA WE DO THIS TO PROTECT HUMANS LALALALALLA".

I think the writer wanted to make a serious devil may cry, instead of the light-hearted tone of the originals, which were funny but had serious moments. This fails, however, because the writer was not talented at all. The story was bland and generic, characters were bland, over-sexualized, too much vulgarity . . . it goes on and on. When Devil may cry did it, it was usually a well-planned joke, and it was fun in a campy way. Here, it is done in a disgusting way, and I have no respect for the writer, who single-handedly destroyed what could have been a great game. It pisses me off when so much work and effort has been put towards the fighting, music, and set design, and one (or a few) morons ruin it all with lines pertaining to the f-bomb and jokes about squirrel semen. (No, I am not kidding.)

In the end, the game IS fun. But sadly, it is only fun for the gameplay. When there is no cutscenes, no diolouge, the game shines, and in glimmering moments the beauty of the original is perfectly interpreted in this reboot. But sadly, character design, script, and overall chacterization of Dante and others in this game make it VERY unlikable. They did not create an edgy teen people could relate to, rather they made a monster which is a combination of everything wrong with modern youth. At no point does Dante become an enjoyable hero, and every time he was talking I hated him.

Combat 8/10 Very fun, very fast, very well done.

Story 3/10Terrible plot, very predictable.

Setting 10/10 Limbo city is perfectly realized

Enemies 8/10 Enemies are well designed, keeping the ridiculousness of the former enemies in tow from the originals

name 1/10 Lol seriously? DmC: Devil may cry? SO Devil may Cry= Devil May Cry? So dumb

Characters 4/10 Save for a few shining stars, (Mundus, Vergil.) Characters fall flat in this game.

Overral6.7/10. The combat, music, and setting saved this game from being a total flop. If you care about action more than story, and have very high lame character tolerance, get this game, you'll obviously have fun. If you cannot handle lame story and character, then I'd pass this game up. Or atleast wait till it is 30 dollars. Its a shame, everything EVERYTHING is perfect in this game aside from the characters. It's sad a game with perfect gameplay is RUINED by a moron who thought he was writing good characters and story. If they make a sequel, they NEED to fire whoever wrote that story. Don't listen to the game informers and other review sites. STORY is not this game's strong point.

Honest reviews on DMC: Devil May Cry

I have played all the Dmc games and I was absolutely devastated when they revealed this reboot. Anyhow here's my brief 2 cents on the game.

This is a great game on its own. Great story, great platforming, good (not great) combat, and AWESOME art style. The problem is, it has a little hint of the previous DMC games. The combat is fun but it is no where near as deep as DMC3 and 4's. There was only one puzzle in the game which was very easy. The art style is amazing but it is a big departure from DMC universe's art style. A lot of cursing in the game of which most of it feels unnecessary.

This game could have been called, for example, "Angles & Demons" with out having any traces of a DMC game and it would have been much more welcomed by the gamers. The reason why fans are upset about this game is that 1)DMC4 left off with an unfinished story so a reboot was unnecessary and 2) Westernizing a game that is popular for it's "Eastern" style would kill the core elements of the game that made it such a unique game.

Lastly, blame Capcom not Ninja Theory because Ninja Theory just did what Capcom wanted. Hopefully Capcom learned their lesson due to the low amount of sales (they also screwed up RE6), and hats off to Ninja Theory for making a great game.

I would like to keep this comment as honest as possible. I have been playing the Devil May Cry franchise since it's birth, and yes, along with all the other fans I was quite disappointed when the reboot was revealed. However, after checking some of these reviews I decided it was worth a try. The DMC franchise is a great action game series, and I would hate to turn my back on it now. However. What the reboot (this game) seems to do is take the bad guy (mundus) from the original DMC, and basically ALL the level design from DMC2 (which if you played or saw is an infested cityscape), and tried way too hard to incorporate the grappling mechanic from DMC4. Even the skills are a little awkward in this game. The melee weapons completely outclass the guns. Devil mode in this game is completely reworked so that upon trigger, everything you are fighting on screen gets launched into the air and lets you pick at it. There is also a very non-subtle theme of the game where words will pop up on the screen saying things like "DIE" or "GLUTTONY" or whatnot, which I am not sure if I missed something, but seems to be paying homage for some reason to They Live. Now, post Devil May Cry 4, I will admit, there was a parting of ways for how far they wanted to take the character, and the one thing that had always been weak in ANY DMC game was the story, but I would argue that you don't play DMC for the story. You play it for the action. The story that is revealed (through flashbacks and wormhole sequences) is... well, it is a story. I state that this game is definitely a tease for anyone who played through the other games in the series, simply because there are a lot of Cinematics for the ammount of game play. Most fights end with a close up on Dante's face.

So, in conclusion, I would definitely say to try this game out, but rent it on gamefly before purchasing, even if you are a dante must die hard fan. I would almost hope and like to see a reboot of this game in something similar to you playing Dante running a hero for hire business, similar to pick and choose missions, which all ends up at some sort of well polished character at the end that is either gun crazy, sword heavy, evasive/tricky, or well rounded (royal guard was kind of silly). I would hope that capcom would grow up a little and stop trying to pack this franchise full of foul language and innuendo, and focus on making something a little more like DMC3.

Introduction:

Masters of the Universe is one of the best action-adventure games I have played in a long time. The stylish graphics and wonderful gameplay provide many hours of heart felt enjoyment.

Gameplay:

Masters of the Universe has all the gameplay you expect from action-adventure games. Packed with tons of enemies, bosses, power-ups, and a huge sword.

The game enemies are anything from slugs to spiders to giant beasts. Then there are the bosses. There is a boss at the end of almost every level. Each boss has different weapons and abilities and each level the boss gets tougher (obviously!). These levels consist of riding on the back of 4-legged animals through a course. As you move throughout the course there are obstacles to jump over and move around. You also must collect different items on your way. I found these levels to be the most fun of all.

Graphics:

One thing I did like about the graphics was when you your character move's behind objects, the object whatever it be turns semi-transparent so you can see the character behind it. This helps a lot when playing levels when it is imperative to hide behind objects.

Lifespan:

Masters of the Universe has a very long lifespan. Not only does the game last a long time, it is very fun to go play missions over again. I can't get enough of some missions and I go back and play them all the time. This game is definitely great if you want a game that lasts a long time.

Closing Comments:

If you're looking for a good game in the genre I highly suggest this one. While it may have it's flaws it is one great game.

This game is much better than I thought it would be! I just got the game on the first day it came out, and even though I haven't beaten it yet, the graphics, gameplay, music, the whole shibang is above the rim! The chracters are amazingly detailed, and the levels are also detailed, but small. Clawful, the first boss, is a little hard for me to beat right now, but I will eventually find a way. This game has gone above my expectations and is a game no Masters of the Universe fan should be without!

Honest reviews on Masters of the Universe: He-Man: Power of Greyskull

I bought this game because I'm a fan of He-Man. I didn't expect much from it, and I got even less.

Let's start with the graphics:

The in-game graphics are computer models made into sprites, meant to give a 3D look. It looks like they set the lighting way too high though, since some of the sprites have large areas of white. It's hard to even tell what some of them are a lot of the time. If there's anything good I can say about the graphics, it's that they did make use of artwork from the cartoon in menus, character portraits, etc.

Sound and music:

The music is pretty forgettable. The sound is repetitive and slightly annoying. Hey, at least they got Cam Clarke's voice for the opening though. "I have the power!"

Gameplay:

I could look past everything else if the game was fun. It isn't. At all. It's annoying. You wander around the levels, finding one thing to open something else, collecting crystals and moving from one island to another, the isometric view making jumps difficult to gauge. All the while you're being attacked by hordes of uninteresting monsters, almost none of them coming from the show.

That would be okay too, but for some reason it takes the strongest man in the universe several strikes with his magic sword to kill the simplest monster or robot. That wouldn't be too bad either, if it wasn't so slow. Oh, but you can charge up your attack to deal a more powerful blow. Oh right, that's even slower, so you have to run away from everything while you're charging it, and it's still not enough to kill most things in one hit.

Oh, and if the game wasn't slow and annoying enough to begin with? Don't worry, a lot of monsters can poison you, making you move even slower while they pick away at your life. Fun, right?

There's a bonus level or two that breaks up the monotony and frustration of the regular levels, where you ride on Battlecat through an autoscrolling field collecting crystals, jumping over obstacles and shooting monsters. It's a nice change of pace at least.

Conclusion:

This game is a textbook example of licensed shovelware. It looks bad and it plays worse. Avoid it unless you just plan to display it next to your He-Man figures and never play it.

There's not too much to say on this other than the faceplate is very sharp-looking, fits official Xbox 360 controllers securely, and looks great in the process. When putting it on the remote, it will snap on (I heard about 4 clicks from when it was snapping on to the contour of the remote). Perfect for Detroit Lions fans or people who just want a change of pace for their remote. My only gripe is not about the product, but that it is much cheaper on Newegg.

If you have small children that love Angry Birds and frequently monopolize your phone wanting to play it, then this game is for you! :) My sons love it and now I can have my phone free when I need it. They do not enjoy the Kinect side as much (it's a little difficult for 4 year olds), but can easily play with the controller.

Greetings! As of this review, the price is a lot higher than people are willing to pay--I think it's been mentioned already. Having never played this game on mobile platforms, I had no idea if the game is worth the money. It was my son that convinced me that the game is a ton of fun and the trilogy edition contained a lot of different levels and challenges.

Is it worth the price? For my family, it certainly was worth it. Four of us play this game on a big screen LED HDTV and it looks and sounds amazing. With the scoring based system, there is incentive to play through the same levels multiple times trying to outdo your previous score or a family member's score. Add in hidden bonuses and achievements, and there is plenty of long term replayability in this game. Compared to some of the high-end $60 games that come with a 10-15 hour playthrough (and are often inappropriate for kids), Angry Birds offers a game for everyone that contains more content than a lot of other games.

The controls are simple and responsive, making the game fun to play and removing the frustration of trying to figure out what button does what; you can jump right in, it's simple enough to pick up and play. My son, who has played on the touch screens, says the console controls are just as easy and he doesn't notice any lack of responsiveness. For any level, you can immediately restart the level by holding a button; this makes it quick and easy to try different strategies without having to go through the menu system.

Overall, despite the concern about an inflated price, this game is well worth it. No one in my family owns a smartphone or tablet, so this Angry Birds game is our first experience with it. If it didn't exist in a free or cheap version for mobile platforms, I suspect the game would do very well at the current price point. It's fun, addicting, simple to play, and looks fantastic on an HDTV.

There's a reason why "Angry Birds" is the most popular mobile game app in the world the gameplay is simple, streamlined, fun, and is perfectly suited for short bursts of gaming while doing other things in life such as waiting at a doctor's office, getting your oil changed, etc. And best yet, each game is only $.99 cents.

One of the benefits of publishing for a console vs mobile apps is the price point you get to charge more for your product. It makes sense that Rovio wants to bring their "Angry Birds" franchise to the console. "Angry Birds" is probably one of the few franchises popular and well-known enough to merit a console publication, and you can make a lot more money.

But here's the problem. The price point has drastically so been altered and the differences for the increased price is negligible. The first three games are present and accounted for but at a much higher price. For the 3DS version, we go from $.99 cents a game to about $10 dollars a game. Likewise, Rovio is charging over $13 dollars per game on the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. If a console game went up that much, instead of paying $59.95 for "New Super Mario Bros. U", you would be paying $600

Rovio has decided to publish the first three "Angry Birds" games, "Angry Birds", "Angry Birds Seasons", and "Angry Birds Rio", on the XBOX 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo 3DS. The two home consoles has an MSRP of $39.95 and the $3DS 29.95. But is "Angry Birds Trilogy" really worth purchasing when the same games are available for so much cheaper?

Really depends, but for most consumers, the answer is no. Now, there will be fans out there of the games that this will be an automatic purchase regardless. For those undecided, here is what the console versions of "Angry Birds Trilogy" offers, as well as cons.

PROS:

-HD GRAPHICS

-Exclusive new level per episode

-Achievements and Trophies

-New Cutscenes

-3D gameplay (for 3DS version ONLY)

-XBOX 360 version supports Kinect, Playstation 3 supports Playstation Move.

CONS:

-Ludicrous price point compared to mobile version

-Obviously PS3 and XBOX 360 lacks touch screen capabilities. As touchscreen gameplay is a cornerstone of "Angry Birds", there is a brief adjustment period but ultimately is not that much of an issue. 3DS does feature touchscreen gameplay

-Unable to use the game on multiple devices for the same purchasing dollar

-Angry Birds are available for TV play on streaming devices for much cheaper

The HD graphics look great, and as far as gameplay the console experience of "Angry Birds" is just as addictive as the mobile apps.. The controls are tight. Of the three different versions I would recommend the 3DS version due to the 3D graphics and the lower price

Another added benefit (for me, anyway) of the console versions how the Angry Birds games play into the dynamic of the contrasting nature [of] between console vs mobile apps. Mobile apps are often used for short bursts of gaming for time killers. Often times console gameplay is often a more prolonged experience. Playing "Angry Birds" for extended periods of times (something more likely to happen on the consoles), demonstrates just how good these games really are and how they hold up even for hours at a time. Few mobile games can say that.

As far as the "exclusive new levels", for me that's not much of a draw. First off, the mobile versions have TONS of content with hours and hours and hours of avian-throwing. All three titles have a large number of levels, which will take you a good deal of time to get through, especially when trying to get three stars per each level. Rovio has added lots of new content to all three titles since initial release. "Seasons" which originally started out as a Halloween themed game now has (at the time of this writing) "Seasons 2011" and "Seasons 2012". When I purchased seasons, only "2011" existed. Now I am getting both as Rovio has updated the game. There can be no updates to these console versions unless they are downloaded, possible for a price.

Another factor to consider is how mobile app purchases work, at least on Apple devices (personally I am not familiar with other mobile carriers). I have purchased all three games, including the fourth ("Angry Birds Space", not included on this package). These purchases are linked to my iTunes account, meaning I can download the game to multiple devices because the purchase is account based, not device based. Obviously this is not a possibility on the home console versions or 3DS version.

And for those who want a larger screen, you can just as easily download "Angry Birds" to a tablet or iPad. For my money, I'd much rather spend three dollars and play these games on tablets than a 3DS or console anyway.

So there you have it. Mobile games and console games are drastically different, and I understand why Rovio wants to monetize their most successful franchise in this manner. It's simply the nature of the market that mobile games are so much cheaper than console titles. Honestly, given how much content already existed within these games to begin with, there's not a lot more Rovio could really do to justify the radically different price points between the two main competing versions of "Angry Birds". Of all the mobile games, "Angry Birds" is easily the most renowned, so they are in the best position to tap into the console market. Consumers may bite the bullet and get the titles in this form simply because "Angry Birds" is so widely popular but for most other mobile app developers, console publication will not be an option (though obviously downloads, such as Nintendo's Wiiware, is possible)..

Ultimately, only you can decide if you want to spend the money on "Angry Birds Trilogy". My recommendation is buy the mobile app versions if you haven't already and if you really enjoy the games, consider purchasing the console versions. Graphically the updated games are gorgeous. If you are more of a casual fan, stick with the mobile app versions.

A brief overview of the games themselves:

The story (what story there is) is simple green pigs steal the eggs of several different bird species, and the birds want their eggs back. Using a slingshot, you launch the birds (a pre-set number per level) at the pigs, which are in pre-existing structures of various items (mostly wood and ice blocks), with the intent to rid the level of those slimy green pigs. The more damage you cause to the pigs and the structures, the higher you score. Unlike so many other games, there is actual motivation to score high. You get three stars for a high score, two stars for a medium score, and one star for a low score. Several of the levels are quite challenging to get three stars.

As you progress throughout the game, the birds become more varied, with different birds having different abilities. The red bird is standard, the yellow bird gets a burst if speed if you touch the screen after initial launch, the black bird acts as a bomb, the white bird lays bombing eggs, the blue bird breaks into three birds, the boomerang bird doubles back as a boomerang, and the balloon bird inflates to many times its original size. You activate these special abilities by pressing the bird a second time after launch.

My 6-year-old daughter wanted this game and saved her allowance and birthday money to buy it. She and I have had the best time playing this. I am not an avid gamer so it is just the right speed for she and I. There are some games that are so funny that she is laughing so hard while playing. She asks me all day long if I will play MP8 with her. My 11-year-old will butt in and play with us as well.

We've only had it about a week and have opened up about 98% of the mini games but are still having a blast with it.

I've seen some complaints about the computer always rolling 10s and getting the good prizes and squares but I have not noticed this. I find the game play to be pretty competitive. We have beat the computer characters many times and there have been times where it is neck in neck and pretty exciting right to the very end.

I've even played this by myself while the kids were at school one day! Loads of fun.

Ever since Mario Party debuted on the Nintendo 64, we've been receiving a new game in the series on a yearly basis. The last few Mario Party games have all been tiring. Almost rehashes. However, with the Wii, Mario Party has a chance to be a lot of fun again thanks to the Wii-Remote. Unfortunately, it isn't all its cracked up to be. The Wii-Remote controls work, but they feel like a last minute tack on, and ultimately some of the mini-games just aren't all that fun. Finally, there are other video games chock full of mini-games that make much better use of the Wii-Remote than Mario Party 8.

The formula for Mario Party really hasn't changed at all over the years. You and your friends (or the computer) will roll the die, move around the board at the end of each round of rolls you'll be thrown into a mini-game.

The mini-games are pretty short. Most of them being around 30 seconds long. Some of them are quite fun and make good use of the wii remote, such as the game where you have to shake up a soda can, or wipe off the chomp. However, there are not a lot of these kinds of mini-games. Most other mini-games don't make as big of an impression with the wii-remote, as most of them consist of you holding the wii remote like a basic gamepad and then tilting it left or right. Take for example, the game where you race on water skis. You don't actually do anything outside of tilting the wii remote left and right to jump ramps. It is in moments like these where the wii remote controls just feel tacked on. And unfortunately, this comes up in quite a few mini games. There are also a lot of mini games that simply have you tilting the Wii-Remote forward and backward. Again, the controls feel tacked on in instances like this.

The biggest slap in the face, however, is that there are a myriad of mini-games that don't use the wii-remotes motion sensor controls at all and you'll hold it like a gamepad, and play with it like it's a gamepad using the D-Pad to move your character and all. It's also to no credit that these games aren't really all that fun.

To the game's credit, though, when they do make good use of the wii-remote and its motion sensor controls, they really do a bang up job. Such as the mini-game where everyone shoots at the screen while one person dodges. It's just unfortunate that there aren't a lot of mini-games that do so, and instead make you either play the traditional way or just simply tilt the wii remote. There are some fun games here, but the game is populated by more games that really aren't a lot of fun.

As usual, Mario Party games are no fun by yourself. They need to be played with friends and family. Like previous installments, multi-player can be a lot of fun--provided you get a good mini-game. Some of the games are free-for-all but there are also some games where you'll be by yourself against three players, or working together with one other player. Mostly, though, they're free for alls, and playing with a friend is nice just so that you can see who's better. Multi-player has always been a strong aspect of Mario Party and it's no different in number 8. However, much like previous installments, the game is entirely left up to chance. One moment you're in first place, and after the very next roll you're in last. It's annoying sometimes because you really don't have any control. It's all a game based on luck. This is both a good and bad thing. Good because it makes the outcome unpredictable, and once more anyone can play this without any prior experience. It's bad, however, because for some who like to add a little strategy to their gaming, you just can't do it here.

Perhaps the biggest problem facing Mario Party 8 is that it doesn't really present a whole lot of new stuff that wasn't in Mario Party 7. With the game making use of the Wii-Remote, one would expect the experience to be quite different. Instead it's more of the same thing. Especially because there are other games on the Wii that are filled with mini-games that make far better use of the remote (Rayman Raving Rabbids comes to mind). In Mario Party 8 the wii remote controls either feel tacked on or you don't really use them. It's also hard to get past the fact that the mini-games aren't very inventive because of this. Certainly water-skiing is fun, but when you're just tilting left and right throughout the whole thing? You might as well have just put this on the Gamecube and let me tilt the analog stick left and right.

Graphically, it's no surprise that Mario Party 8 isn't the best looking game out there. Mario Party games usually aren't. At least it runs smoothly. There's no slow down or frame rate issues. It really doesn't look any different than any of the Mario Party games on the Gamecube however, and those who have a widescreen television will be disappointed to know that the game won't take up the whole screen, and instead will give you a boarder. Luckily, graphics don't make the game. Mario Party doesn't look bad, it just looks dated.

Mario Party 8 had so much potential. If they'd done more intuitive things with the Wii Remote, this may have been worth a buy. There are other mini-game collections out there that utilize the wii remote much better than this. There will be plenty of gamers out there that will be able to get past the big flaws and just have fun with it, but if you're one who's been playing Mario Party since the beginning, you can't help but admit a change is in order. Unfortunately Mario Party 8 doesn't do much for you.

Pros:

+When the Wii Controls are good, the games are actually quite fun

+Simplistic gameplay; anyone could pick this up and play it with no problems

+There are over 60 mini-games to play

Cons:

-There are far too many mini-games where the wii controls feel tacked on, and these games are pretty boring to play

-There are far too many mini-games that don't make use of the motion sensor controls at all

-There are not a lot of very inventive mini-games

-In short, the game doesn't do much to stand out above previous Mario Party installments. You'd think with the Wii Remote, Mario Party 8 would be something new to experience, but instead it ends up not being that much of a step higher than Mario Party 7

Best Deals for Mario Party 8

This past year, the Nintendo Wii has really delivered in making a promise of delivering gameplay that is fun and addictive as the game system delivered. That has been the case with great games that really showed it like Excite Truck and the dramatic The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. With all that said about great games, mini-game excitement has also delivered too with the return of the Mario Party series. It has been almost 2 years since the franchise had its last game on the Nintendo Gamecube, and worked like a charm by being innovative and fun for all ages. Now, it has finally made its way onto the Wii, but is it worth the wait.

Mario Party 8 for the Nintendo Wii is a wild and addictive game that brings out a simplicity for gamers young and old alike, as you unlock and play over 70 minigames that are easy and fun to play. There are also a few new additions here too, as you can also unlock players including Blooper, the sea squid from the Super Mario Brothers games, and Hammer Brothers, which recently returned in a great set of guest cameos in Super Mario Strikers and Mario Superstar Baseball. The graphics are delightful but the gameplay is definitely what brings the game to its success, as you use the Wii remote to play in games like waving a magic wand and using an energy ball to strike Bowser in a one on one showdown, punching a statue to smitherines with a boxing glove, or using it you are shaking a soda can and creating a gusher in one of the duel minigames. You can also use your Mii characters that you've created from games like Wii Sports and have them play in the Star Carnival and play games like ping pong. The graphics are delightful and the sound carries well throughout each of the boards, but the gameplay really does deliver for new Wii owners as well as die hard Mario fans alike.

All in all, Mario Party 8 is a delightful game that welcomes the party franchise Wii owners well. I loved what the series brought out for so many years, and I know that this edition does a great job as well. Considering there are so many great games coming out for the Nintendo Wii like Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, this one is definitely a wonderful addition to your Wii library.

Honest reviews on Mario Party 8

This is the first Wii game we've gotten that really engaged our 4-year-old boy. Ultimately up to now he could care less about our other Wii titles such as Cars, Carnival Games, and Playground Games.

Our boy loves that he can play a lot of this out of the box. He can choose his character and move him around the board. Because the game leverages the Wii controller quite well he can get into the mini-games. The best feature is that you can practice each mini-game as much as you want, which is good because some of them take a few tries. The variety of games alone satisfies our short attention span family quite well. There is a train map that just hooked him big-time, so if you have a boy between the ages of 3-8 it will likely hook your boy too.

The professional reviewers have to be taken with a grain of salt. The comic-book-guy reviewers with lame beards and questionable hygiene are not going to like a game that a 4-year-old does. One reviewer noted that much of the game is left to chance instead of skill. This is actually a big plus for parents with small kids. I am hyper-competitive so it's not my first instinct to let the kid (or Wookie) win. But with this game my little boy came in second place on his own, so between the game itself and the adjustable difficulty levels, my kid can kick my butt at a much younger age, which keeps me in check!

Nintendo has done a great job with the Wii. The only problem is that most of the games for it only allow one to two players at any given time, so Nintendo comes out with MARIO PARTY 8! this game is a 4 out of 5 stars in one player mode, but when you get three or four people playing, it ROCKS!!!! this is a SPECTACULAR game to play with your friends. It will entertain you and your guests for hours! The Wii remote is the key to this games great multiplayer action. you can enjoy different kinds of gameplay like 1 on 3, 2 on 2, or every man for himself. each type of gameplay has games that are unique it. Like one of the 1 on 3 games is, one person shoots snowballs at the other three, and another is the three trying to stop the one from making it it the top of a tower. So, in summery, THIS IS AN AWESOME GAME TO PLAY WITH FRIENDS!!!!!!!

The PS2 CMT Presents: Karaoke Revolution Country Bundle

comes with a great Microphone so you don't have to buy one unless you're interested in singing duets (to take advantage of that, you will need to buy an additional microphone). This game also utilizes the eye toy, if you have one (I also bought the Eye Toy 2 Game bundle that comes with the new Eye toy). When you use the eye toy, you can actually see yourself sing the songs or choose a character and use the eyetoy to put you in the background of the game (It's really neat)!!

The game tells you that there are 35 songs, what it doesn't explain is that you have to unlock some of those songs (Celebrity and Friends in low places are 2 that I have unlocked in just one sitting). You unlock outfits, games, characters by singing well and earning gold, platinum and diamond records. You can set the judging for easy, normal and difficult. It also has training so you can get used to it. We just jumped right on and headed for the "arcade" competition. You can choose your character and make them look like however you want, even change their outfits. You can choose the songs you want to sing, or choose random so that it chooses for you, and you can choose the arena you sing in (again, with the eyetoy, you can put yourself and/or your living room into the scene)!

I just received the game yesterday and my daughter and I couldn't stop playing, it's addictive!

If you don't want to compete and you just feel like singing, you can choose the "karaoke" option and just sing without being judged. There are also mini-games on there, but we didn't get to that yet. There is a lot you can do, I was so impressed and the song list was all the hot country music out right now. The other great thing about this is you can choose to sing along with the original artist of the song, or you can lower their voice and/or music to just sing the words by yourself. We enjoyed singing along, like you would in your car or watching their video, it makes it a little easier in my opinion.

The game is very enjoyable, even when you've already sang a song, you want to sing it again to try to improve, love hearing that crowd cheer! But if you sing badly, you will get booed off and get zero points (my daughter didn't like that!)

If you like singing, especially to tunes of artist's such as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, JoDee Messina, Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, Gretchen Wilson, Toby Keith and even Patsy Cline, Buy this Bundle!!

I Highly recommend it!!

My entire family including my 3yr old and my own parents love playing this game together. It is a lot of fun, and promotes self confidence, as my sons, ages 8 and 11, were initially embarrassed to sing in front of people, but now we compete and have a blast. I highly recommend this game. It is so much better than traditional video games. I also recommend the other Karaoke Revolution games.

If you are one of those people that turn up the radio in the car and sing to the music, this game is for you! We had a blast with this, not just the kids, but the adults also got way into scoring against each other! I thought the variety of songs was excellent, there was something for all voice ranges and with the selection of skill levels, one player could be a medium and the other an easy so that everyone does well (this was great for the kids who don't like to lose!!) If you like to sing, even if your're not that great, you will love this, especially if you have family and friends to play with!

Star Ocean has been a long running franchise that many RPG fans appreciate; this being said how is the game overall?

-Xbox360 vs. PS3-

Notable differences on the PS3 version:

+ Do not need to disc swap, since everything is on one disc.

+ Includes Japanese vocals as an option.

+ Able to switch between menu layout Classic (Original JP Menus with the Animated dialog boxes) and the CG (NA/EU version of the menu, which was all done in CG, but lost the Anime feel and the portrait on dialog boxes).

+ Includes additional characters.

-I never played Star Ocean how does this fare with the storyline?-

Star Ocean: The Last Hope (aka Star Ocean 4) Has very minor relevance within the other three Star Ocean games, each game are not direct sequels so each game is independent of each other and you will not be missing anything at all if you haven't played the previous ones.

-How does the battle fare?-

Just like all other Star Ocean, you control the leader of the party and able to set the other 3 on auto while having the ability to switch between each character.

-Difficulty and depth of the game?-

The game itself can be challenging, since some of the bosses are rather difficult, I believe this is a good thing just because a lot of RPGs these day are just dumb downed. The depth of the game is amazing, also unlike other RPGs there are tons of character interactions and details required to achieve specific endings for the game. Yes this RPG requires you to grind a bit for levels and skills, but people tend to complain about this aspect of the game; honestly I think RPG gamers have been spoiled over the years. Back in the days when players spent hours and hours unlocking secret weapons of leveling for boss fights since they were too hard, I find that enjoyable instead speed running through the game not requiring to grind or skills. So if you like a challenging RPG, this would be a good bet (Nothing as challenging as Demon Souls of course).

-Length of game?-

If you try to accomplish all the side quests and not speed through the game. The game itself can easily be 80+ hours long.

-Graphics-

The game is done very well with nice visual background.

-Should I get this or White Knight Chronicles?-

Both game plays completely different, WKC would have a bigger replay value since majority of the game is online based versus SO is strictly offline. Both games are JRPG based, but some would argue that WKC does not have a great storyline and big character roster list, so if you are looking for a decent character roster and a well developed storyline I would go for SO.

-Conclusion-

Overall I would say that SO4 is a great game, just like the other SO games in the series. If you enjoy playing the other SO in the series I am sure you will enjoy this. Unfortunately PS3 does not have big list of RPG titles, but if you enjoy RPGs then this would be the game to buy.

So this game actually only deserves four stars...but since I know some other moron will post the obligatory "Dis here game iz alredy on teh three-six-zeeero" and give the game a low score I bumped it up to five stars. That should cancel out exactly one dipstick.

On to the game!

Beautiful game. COMES WITH A FREE $(*@)(%! MOVIE!! Holy 'effing mother of Gargonzola the game takes thirty friggen minutes to get going. I know it's supposed to be an epic tale of survival and exploration but I MADE A SANDWICH in the time it took for the game to start. Sure, people joke and say, "...man, I could have gotten up and made a sandwich in that length of time." Yeah, well, not only did I MAKE the sandwich, I ate the damn thing too. Beautiful movie...but when it came time to move my guy around I looked at the controller with slight distrust. "Hmmm..." Lo and behold the damn game was ready for me to play it! Battle tutorial! AWESOME! Ohh...nice and then I can explore the ship and then...AW F$$%! ANOTHER damn cutscene.

When we FINALLY have control for REAL, the camera is fluid, the controls are accurate (except when I "sprint". I don't know who stuck a N0S bottle up the main character's butt to make him zip forward like that but it's slightly retarded. At least make the damn sprint last longer. I have to keep having my guy make grunting noises like he's plowing the remnants of Thanksgiving dinner through his colon. *sigh*

Combat is very nifty. Again, nothing groundbreaking but this is an RPG for frick's sake, what did you expect? There's a little battle bonus board that you can add to by meeting special conditions in battle. A bonus battle feature where you can sneak around behind the enemy...the name of which escapes me at the moment. DIFFICULTY SETTINGS!!! Very very cool. It's one thing to have a difficult RPG...it's another to have to get your guys to level 27 before you can fight the first boss. The Japanese are all sadistic, I think. You get used to whacking all this little stuff and THEN comes captain octopus that absolutely spanks your monkey until bananas come out of your ears. So frustrating...and this game avoids those frustrations with an easy button.

The voices...ugh. The obligatory cute asian-looking girl with perky...er...attitudes and tight pants is entertaining for the first five minutes. Then you want to go and grab that stick with a hand on it from the concorde grape-jelly character who runs the item making machine and strangle her with it. The main character dude says the same...damn...thing...every...friggen...battle. You can switch them over to the Japanese voices and laugh at them for awhile...but then it starts to feel like you're in an airport and you've gotta switch back.

Menu can be changed from modern to classic. Modern being what I have heard was available on the 360 and classic being a bright anime/cartooney style. I prefer the anime style personally.

In the end, if you didn't try this on the 360 then I say give it a go. I LOVE RPGs and this one has already provided me with hours of pleasure. Seriously, don't be afraid to buy the game. It's pretty damn good.

I had never played the original Star Ocean game so I cannot judge based on that issue. However being an Old Guy (53) my desires are different than the younger generation. This is pretty good actually. I like games that make me want to move forward. Find out what is around the next corner. Hot babes maybe, who knows. I rated this a 4 for being fun and 4 overall. I like the interface, (buttons). and the fact it lets you pause in the middle of being destroyed to change your tactics at certain parts of the battle where I DIE!! because some enormous monster destroyed my party and had a good lunch. I like the mapping system to a certain degree. It has repetitive ending battle cut scenes however with these it lets you know how you did during the battle, gives me some numbers. There are lots of fun little things to do on the ship you fly between planets with. Sleep, make meals, etc. (Other than that folks if you like RPG's I don't think you will be disappointed at all. I recommend you buy the strategy guide. STAR OCEAN THE LAST HOPE: INTERNATIONAL Signature Series Strategy Guide (Bradygames Signature Series Guides) Your going to need it to help you plot and plan your strategy throughout the game. For me anyhow the game is worth buying new.

Honest reviews on Star Ocean: The Last Hope International - Playstation 3

...I'm forced to average the two. I commiserate with another reviewer about the "This was on the X-Box, so it's worse here by definition!" reviews, but I can't co-sign on grade inflation.

And honestly, while this game has a lot going for it, its flaws can be severe. The average player probably wouldn't notice (i.e. the one that plays the game one time through), but I would guess that most people buying this game are hardcore (and the developers believe the same look at all of the postgame extras, and the ridiculous PSN trophies associated to the game).

So anyway:

The Good:

I really like the battle system in this game. There is one major flaw (targetting), but all in all, I've enjoyed fighting (which is good for a game of this length). The "blindside" and "rush combo" systems are magnificent, IMHO. The characters clearly have different personalities on the battle field (including the fighters Faize's rapier combos act much different than Edge's, e.g.).

The story. While the cutscenes are a major pain (they are too long, and poorly written), I'm a sucker for a space exploration story. No, this isn't "Mass Effect 2," but I think the plot synthesizes much of what is good about various Japanese sci-fi animes (ridiculous science, absurd character interactions, a universe-threatening enemy, etc.)

The extras. Tri-Ace has ALWAYS given the player more for completing a game, and this is no different. A huge battle arena, two long and rewarding post-game dungeons, billions of battle trophies to test your skills and patience (OK there are only 900, but it will feel like billions by the end). SO:TLH delivers. However, there is one major flaw here, as I will state below.

The Bad:

-Battle targeting is atrocious. The computer NEVER fixes on the proper target; your character will often run the length of the battlefield to attack another enemy, instead of the one in front of him. In order to change targeting, you have to use the start button (who in the world thought of that?)...but this is a pain in the heat of battle against an enemy such as, say, Kokubei (who has about 10 other small enemies constantly circling her). Ugh.

Where are the save points? It takes FOREVER to get to one! I've heard that autosaving doesn't work in JRPGs (with citations of other 360 RPGs as evidence). I don't buy it. There HAS to be something better, and if we ARE fixing ourselves to this archaic system, at LEAST make it reasonable. At time, you will find yourself going an hour or more between save points in dungeons. At the end of the game, adding together the cutscene time, the credit time, and the battles, it took over 2 hours before I could save my game! That's ridiculous.

Also, when you finally do save, the game asks you, "Do you want to keep saving?" The default answer is "YES" the first time this question is asked. What the heck? I guess even the game realizes that saving is a luxury that you never want to end. :-P

While battle trophies carry over to different playthroughs, battle trophy progress does not. What are you thinking, Tri-Ace? So, if I kill 29,999 enemies with Edge in one playthrough, and don't get the trophy, I STILL have to kill 30000 in the next playthrough. All I can say is, if you care about these things, keep your old save files intact.

The cutscenes. They are WAAAAAY too long. Now, I'm not a fan of cutscenes in general, but when the writing is as bad as it is for these, it's particularly atrocious. In fact, I would suggest just skipping them entirely (the game is nice enough to provide you a synopsis of any scene you skip, and the synopsis is both short AND well-written).

The unforgivable:

Missable trophies. OK I can accept that some games should have PSN trophies that require work. But this is ridiculous. For example, there is one trophy for completing all the quests in the game (and there are hundreds, plural, by the way). The catch? Near the beginning of the game, some quests simply...disappear. Forever. There is nothing telling you that this might happen, but it can. Later on, other quests disappear. Forever. So, what do you do? YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE ENTIRE GAME AGAIN. Clearly, this is implemented solely to sell strategy guides. There are other egregious examples (what, I can't make every item in the game because one of my party members left permanently?), but you get the point. Everything about the trophies is meant to anger you. I kid thee not.

Anyway, there you have it. If you are going to play through once, I would rate this from 4 to 5 stars. It's pretty fun. But if you are like so many others that requires that platinum trophy, expect lots and lots of frustration. Happy gaming!

Where to begin? Ahh, I know, the one thing that will immediately turn off gamers! Before you get into this game, be advised that it IS a JRPG and the acting follows that of the typical japanese anime dub over by american actors who just don't cut it. There is however the option to turn on the original japanese dialog track, which may be easier on the ears. I love JRPGs and crappy anime acting (why I don't know) so it doesn't bother me one bit, but sometimes it can take away from the serious overtones the game should have.

That aside, be prepared for a HUGE world. Be prepared to run back and fourth between towns on different planets and be prepared to use the square (dash) button a LOT. The atmosphere that Star Ocean has created is immensively huge, and sometimes it feels as though things are lacking. Don't get me wrong, it is an absolutely beautiful game and looking around will keep you more than entertained while you explore. You can also encounter enemies, harvest materials and mine for materials on the "world map", if that's what you want to call it.

Sprawled throughout the game are specific quests that you will come across, as well as the main story line. The quests are NPC specific and require you to talk to specific NPCs at certain times in the game to get the quests. They are usually simple in nature and are similar to quests in an MMORPG (gather materials, get items from enemies etc). The most rewarding benefit of these quests are the skill points you will aquire, which allow you to level up certain skill sets each character has.

The main story line I will let the amazon description fill you in on, but alas it's alright. I'm not rivited by the story or sucked into the game because of it. All in all the atmosphere and the fun level of gameplay keep me entertained and the story is an added bonus. It's not to say it's a bad story, it's just lacking any real oomph. However, there are aspects of it that are excellently presented that make you wonder if at some point the remainder will be just as good as the scene you just witnessed.

To put things into perspective, I am aiming for getting everything in the game, I am 68 hours into it and only a third of the way through. Probably about half of those hours were spent traveling between places to complete quests. There is no easy warp option, it's you against the world.

I highly recommend this game for any kid, content is appropriate, and gameplay is fun, really really fun. See it for yourself. I am impressed at how much my kids get benefit from this game, specially in motor skills, coordination, balance, discipline, self control.

I bought this game for my kids, who played through Lego Star Wars, followed Clone War series, and loved to battle with other kids using the light saber toys. Like any "teen" rated games and movies, I do the screening since my kids are pre-teen. This review is based on me playing almost 3 hours finishing the story mode (campaign mode), and about 1 hour on other features. And I swear I nearly popped my shoulder twice swinging too hard!

The story mode is branched off from the prequel trilogy, sometime within the Clone Wars. It starts with basic training and then gets on with the action. You can start as a "Padiwan" or "Jedi". In Padiwan mode, if you die in a battle you get re-spawned immediately and continue battle without restarting from a checkpoint. This is obviously designed to minimize frustration and keep the momentum of the story. The battle with enemies can be on a spaceship or on planet surface. There are no shortage of space and land vehicle battles as well. The actions are almost non-stop. The most resting time I had are during longer cut-scenes and loading next chapter.

This story mode reminds me of Time Crisis series on PlayStation consoles. When finished battling one section, the story automatically "fast forward" and take you to the next area, even though that next area is few foot steps away. There is no full directional movement options with your body or use of a physical controller. The story mode is good to go through once or twice. But after that, I think most people will just go to battle in the Duels of Fate mode, race and bump in the Podracing mode, or go be a Rancor to level buildings and throw things around. The Rancor Rampage is really fun if you are in a destructive mood, and you can actually do a full 360-degree directional movement which couldn't be done in story mode. As for the Galactic Dance Off mode in front of Jabba? Well, it's a mini dance game with Star Wars characters in front of Jabba (first location). It's definitely intriguing! If I have a party and use one of the Kinect Dance off games, I would love to see the expressions of the party guests when I pop this in unexpectedly!

Generally, the graphics (cartoon'ish) is pretty much same of the Clone Wars cartoon series. Music is Star Wars derived. As far as controls go, it's Kinect! The good is the ability to perform like a Jedi during battle to get that in-the-action experience. The bad? Well, typical Kinect recognition issue. With an optimal light and well calibrated sensor, I think I got 90%+ accuracy. Of course, the time Kinect doesn't recognize seem to always be making that final strike to kill an enemy!

The game is fun for me at first, but 3 hours into the story mode I wasn't quite as enthusiastic battling the same way over and over again... Maybe after my sore shoulder recovers! I've seen enough of the action and the language to deem it acceptable for my pre-teen kids. I actually think the game is enjoyed most by kids, especially mine who like to participate in light saber battle.

In terms of soreness/calorie burning index (if there is one), this game is up there... Not only lots of swinging, but a lot of jumping (to strike from behind). It's not far from fitness games since player tends to over exert in battle!

*UPDATE 1: Kids Play*

---------------------

My two grade level kids played 1/3 of the Dark Side rising story mode so far, and they loved it. One tends to use force to defeat enemies, and the other prefers to charge, swinging lightsaber, jump, and flip. Both are difficult to pry away from the game. This game will be the favorite with their friends for sure.

*UPDATE 2: 3D Play*

--------------------

I got to setup Xbox/Kinect with my 3D Sharp XV-Z17000 1080p Projector on 125-inch screen. For comparison purposes, I use a PS3 for 3D blu-ray movies as well as games in 1080p mode. The main menu of this game goes into 1080p mode, but each game feature changed the display mode to 720p. For true assessment, I put my projector in native mode, which means 720p is shown at around 70" instead of 125". I've also set to the highest 3D depth option (there are low, medium, and high 3D).

* Story and Duel modes: The character you are playing is clearly separated from the rest. Others moving objects have a little bit of depth (consistent with most games supporting 3D). All cut scenes/movies are in 2D, which are also normal for other 3D games. However, for this game there are a lot of short video clips (2-5 seconds) that are mixed with game play, makeing it hard to really appreciate any subtle 3D effects. Overall I don't think 3D adds much to these games.

* Rancor Rampage: in this game also everything are pretty much in-screen, but 3D depth is more pronounced. Probably because Rancor is such a big object.

* Dance Off: The three characters dancing on the floor in front of Jabba are separated from the rest. The final hold produce a flash that has a little bit of out-of-screen (OOS) effect.

* Pod Racing: Now this one has the most pronounced 3D. To the best of my estimation, the player's vehicle has about 3/4 of the chasis out-of-screen! There appear good delineation between vehicles on the side and immediate front. There are also times I can see the debris ahead as clear 3D objects as well. The final winners' podium is nicely presented 3D for the first, second, and third place drivers. Heck, the entire podium seems to be lifted.

Best Deals for Kinect Star Wars - Xbox 360

I'm a huge Star Wars fan and was so looking forward to "Star Wars Kinect." I was a little disappointed with the responsiveness of the game to my movements, especially with lightsaber duels. The characters don't mimic my movements at all. When I want to attack with a lightsaber, I swing my arm wildly until my character attacks. That's about it. This should really be the best part of "Star Wars Kinect." It's not.

The podracer pretty much goes where it should as long as my arms stay in front of me. I learned not to try to steer, because I just go the wrong way. Keep my arms in front and I run the course. My son, of course, is flailing his arms beside me, but I think I do better in the race for not having any motion at all. Not too exciting.

"Rancor Rampage" is a little better with detecting my movements, but I don't enjoy playing a rancor. We get to stomp around destroying buildings and throwing people around. It's like being King Kong. No fun.

By far the best player responsiveness happens in "Galactic Dance Off." It's like any other Kinect dance game, except we get to dance with Leia, Lando and Han. The dance movements are Star Wars themed. Have you ever wondered how to do the Chewy Hug or the Mynock? Now's your chance. Of all the games, I like "Galactic Dance Off" best.

On the positive side, my ten year-old son really loves this game. It gives me a good workout and he moves around more than I ever see him move with any other Kinect game. If you want your kids to get something physical in while playing video games, this would be one way to do it.

"Star Wars Kinect" can be played by one player, but it's more enjoyable with two players. It is fun to play "Star Wars Kinect" with my son, mostly because I have someone to listen to me while I complain. Just wish it was more responsive. That would make worlds of difference.

Honest reviews on Kinect Star Wars - Xbox 360

most of us bought this game to use the lightsaber. truth be told, that aspect of the game is a letdown. i have a collection of other kinect games so i know pretty much what to expect for responsiveness, and was hoping with the amount of time put into development and the big names behind this game, it would be a step forward. really though, use of the lightsaber is not very satisfying. you really have no control, other than to swing your arm back and forth like a maniac. there's no skill involved (again, i know kinect is a new technology and they have a long way to go, but i was hoping that this particular game would have made some improvement.), you are forced to face a certain direction, most of the swings you make aren't translated correctly and you are very limited in the kinds of saber attacks. the whole game seems to be a matter of swinging your arm wildly, jumping, ducking, and holding out your arms for force moves. i found some of the riding/speeder sections to be more fun than the lightsaber duels.

i will say that the game is still fun to go through, being part of the star wars world, the characters and robots, the music, and accurate or not it's still fun to swing the saber for a while. i don't regret buying it to have it as part of my collection, and i'll definitely finish the game and try the mini-games (have not had a chance to do that yet), and when my niece and nephews come to visit i'm sure we'll have some fun with it. it's just a shame that the lightsaber action couldn't be a LITTLE bit more advanced.

I don't know why people complain so much about this game. When I got the game I didn't expect much due to the reviews. I just got it because I wanted to try it.

While it took a little getting used to at the beginning of the Jedi Destiny mode, I eventually got into it and really started to enjoy it. (Too many cutscenes though and more action would have been nice). While wielding your lightsaber you can change forms and the swinging speeds vary based on it. You can use the force on your off-hand by either grabbing opponents and objects or by utilising force push. (You can also charge the force push into a more powerful push). Even dodging and deflecting had great response time when I was playing. Suffice it to say, I enjoyed the saber-wielding portions of the game the most. I just wish movement were based off of the player walking on his own rather than a rail system. The rancor rampage mode exhibits that quite well if you ask me. As far as the rest of Jedi Destiny mode is concerned, (speeder piloting, turret control, and fighter piloting), I wasn't that impressed with it. I guess it's just not my thing. But it did remind me of the adventure in A New Hope.

As far as the Rancor Rampage mode is concerned... I have to say that the movement was fantastic! The rancor walks forward as you walk in place and it runs as you lean down and walk. You can pick up bystanders and either eat them or toss them at things. Buildings crumble with each mighty blow and you can pound on the ground to clear our surroundings. If you have anger issues, this is the mode to play! Get experimental with it! It's loads of fun and great exercise. (The cutscenes at the beginning are kind of humourous to watch as well).

The saber dueling mode was kind of cool. This took a while for me to get into because I didn't know you could dodge, jump, and throw objects at your opponent while in this mode. Saber locks were frustrating before I realised that there's a spark on the saber while you're locked and you make your move while the spark is close to the point where the sabers are locked. (A tutorial on this would have been nice). Anyway, after figuring out all the things I can do this mode, I really was able to play through and get a pretty decent workout from this too.

As for my favourite mode... I'd have to say podracing. And this game as a surprise considering that I've never really enjoyed any of the podracing games in the past. However, the Kinect made this very fun for me. Take the tutorial at the beginning of the Destiny mode. Once you get used to the controls and how the game mode works, start taking off some of the assists like: Auto-steering, Auto-Breaking, lower speeds... (just look in options to optimise your experience). The quickplay mode is just as fun except that you get to choose from different racers, each with their own set of stats. I hope you enjoy.

Lastly, if you expect to take this game too seriously, you probably won't like it. If you're looking to just have fun, however, you'll love it! This game has provided me with hours of entertainment and continues to do so. I still look forward to a more serious Star Wars game centered more around being Jedi than anything else with a more immersive storyline. When I was thinking Star Wars on the Kinect, I was thinking more about the ultimate Star Wars Unleashed experience. Hopefully next time...
