Just got this item in the mail today. Upon opening and looking at my new item there was not only 1 rip and not even 2 rips. There were 3 rips on the skin. One of these rips goes almost all the way through making this product usless. Its not even worth returning due to postage. This product is very flimsy and can tear very easily without even being used obviously. I gave it 2 stars because if it werent so tearable it actually looks good on a controller and feels good while on the controller. So your choice. Buy it or not but be prepared for a few rips.

We often see the debate rage on about whether games are truly art or not, but rarely do we ask the question: what sort of game would an artist make? El Shaddai would be that answer. You see, the game's director, Sawaki Takeyasu, who was in charge of the game's overall development, has only worked as an artist and even art director for past games he has worked on. Two of them, Okami and Viewtiful Joe, are considered some of the most beautiful and stylistic games ever made. He was also art director for Devil May Cry. His artistic focus, as well as the entire creative teams' purposefully artful approach, is evident throughout the entire game. This game has had a somewhat polarizing effect in the press (Game Informer: 9/10, Gamepro: 4.5/5, IGN: 5/10), with reviews being either universal praise or lots of (undue) criticism. Yes, you need to know what you're getting into when you pop in El Shaddai, a masterfully crafted experience that is meant to immerse and move you.
For me personally, I can already tell you after a bit of time with the game, this game should be bought and bought new to encourage the market to make more products as breathtaking and refreshing as this. It is an exceptional masterpiece that you will never forget, a truly amazing experience. Games this unique and beautiful are extremely rare and El Shaddai ranks among the very best of artistic games. Games like Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Odin Sphere, and a few others come to mind. The publishers and developers of El Shaddai need to be rewarded for taking such a huge business risk by putting out a piece of art very different from the 1,001 desaturated shooters that flood the market each year. Also, by buying these sorts of games new, we can show the publishers that we do love beautiful, artistic games, and maybe they'll start making games of this caliber more often than every couple of years or so. With that out of the way, here's some information to help you know what you're getting into with the game. I will keep it all spoiler free. This game is full of amazing surprises that need to be experienced first-hand.
El Shaddai is based on the ancient Hebrew text, the Book of Enoch, found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. Anyone who knows a bit about their Biblical history knows that Enoch was a prophet that was active some time before the fabled flood of Noah. The story of his book, and this game, is that he is sent to "cleanse" the souls of fallen angels, called "Watchers," whose job had been to watch over mankind. They however, grew obsessed with humanity, took women as their own wives, birthed monsters called Nephilim, and now lived among people, corrupting God's divine purpose. It's a fascinating story subject for a game, and the fact that it is a traditionally western scriptural text being interpreted by distinctly Eastern, Japanese sensibilities makes it even more interesting. The characters are fascinating and while the distinct quirkiness of Japanese game design are here (although I wouldn't really go as far as to call it "anime style" per say), it's all a very refreshing experience. As Enoch, you will ascend a massive tower, each floor of which is an entire world devoted to each angel, and that's where the art comes in.
You see, each Watcher became obsessed with a different aspect of mankind, and offered their own unique "gift" to mankind as well. This translates to each Watcher's floor being completely unique in its art design. They're all striking and totally unique. In this game, you will transverse entire worlds that range from ever-shifting water color paintings, a world seemingly pulled from a minimalists' abstract painting in a modern art gallery, an organically rendered world, and even a hi-tech city very reminiscent of Tron: Legacy (Cycle sequence and all). I'll stop there because I really don't want to give anything away, as this game is spectacular when you discover for the first time what it has to offer. The enemy designs all fit their respective environments, and are pretty bizarre and interesting. Actually, all of the character designs are very striking, and some are very strange. Enoch himself is shirtless prophet in designer jeans, with white armor pieces that look like porcelain attached to him to indicate his health level. Archangels wearing black skinny jeans, while talking nonsense (at first anyway) on a cell phone? Yeeeeah, El Shaddai is kind of out there on its own in the world, but that is partly what makes it so spectacular. I really cannot praise the art direction in this game enough. It is one of the most varied, unique, and downright beautifully designed games in terms of art that I have seen since Okami, and I sincerely mean that.
The music cannot go unmentioned either. Composed by Masato Koda, who also wrote the music for the Devil May Cry series, this soundtrack is awesome. This game features music from all over the spectrum, ranging from levitical choirs, to Japanese garden zen-like music with harps and other traditional Japanese instruments, to 1970's jazzy-disco, to majestic Post-Rock. It's all here, and it's all quite excellent. I love it.
The gameplay is probably the most polarizing aspect of El Shaddai, and I can understand why (rhyme unintentional). At its core, El Shaddai is a 3rd person action adventure platformer with lots of beat-em-up moments. This is very well executed. However, this game takes another artistic school of thought and applies it straight to the gameplay. That concept is minimalism. You see, there is no HUD at all in the game. The combat is much more oriented on having encounters with only a couple enemies, with a focus on flow and elegance. Even the non-combat gameplay mechanics are very simple that use few buttons, but are executed elegantly. In fact, "elegance" is the word I would use to describe the gameplay in El Shaddai. This is intentional, and it is done with a purpose. Some in the gaming press have missed that and therefore given the review some poor ratings. Some will hate the gameplay, it's to be expected when it is so deliberately focused on being artistic in its execution and flow. You need to know that going in. Personally, I found it refreshing and very enjoyable, all of it.
Really, whether you enjoy the game or not will really boil down to whether you are in the right mindset to play the game. If you understand that this game, in every single possible way conceivable, is meant to actually stand as an immersive, beautiful work of art, you will absolutely love El Shaddai with your whole soul. Chances are, if you're looking at this obscure game at all, then you will be the type to love it. It is a niche title, that will probably grow to having a very devoted underground following (I truly hope it transcends an underground, cult status though). Personally, I fall in that category, and I am so refreshed after playing El Shaddai. It is a beautiful work of art, poignant and affecting, and I really hope that we get either a direct sequel, or at least a spiritual successor, soon. I said this earlier, but I must reiterate: BUY THIS GAME AND BUY IT NEW! Buy it, immerse yourself into it, and be transported to a magical world where games truly can be masterful works of art!
*As I continue my way through the game, I'll post updates to my review if I feel there is anything important to add to what is here in this review. For now, though, I think this review pretty much sums up the game in a spoiler-free yet informative fashion. I hope it was helpful. Thank you and good day! :)
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron takes its inspiration from the Apocryphal book of Enoch. The more devout of thee in the audience can correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i could gather Enoch is a character from the Holy Bible book of Genesis who was a man of great faith, that turned out to be the great grandfather of Noah. In the game you are Enoch, a denim jeans clad hero fighting to restore order in Heaven by purifying truant angels to prevent the great flood. According to Genesis, angels had descended to earth and were making babies, known as Nephilim, with mortal women. This act of betrayal by the angels and humans was so detestable to the Big Guy upstairs that it inspired the watery Etch-a-Sketch end of the world. Talk about a jealous lover!
It's a Biblicalish tale with a very Japanese style. Think Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno (the not-classic game, not the classic book) by way of Davey and Goliath on acid. The play style is hack and slash with platformer tendencies. It does both competently. The art style is beyond gorgeous. Any number of screenshots would make decent wall hangings in your suburban home.
The 11 levels of the game sans one take place in a colorful and diversely envisioned netherworld. The one level not like the others involves a bizarre motorbike chase with Transformers-, no, Gobot-like nemesis's (f Michael Bay in the ear for ruining my childhood memories) on your tail in a futuristic Blade Runner-esque cityscape.
Most of the rest of the game involves doing battle with the fan club of puffy pantaloons-wearing fallen angels who don All-Seeing Eye of God masks (more popular in heaven on Halloween than Guy Fawkes masks) in boss battles. It's like if the back of a one dollar bill came to life... and wanted to kill you. Illuminati take note.
And now the verdict, in which rhubarb doom angles for a coveted AGN Game Critic Award. Using a 5 point scale we have...
Gameplay 3.5: The simple control scheme is easy to learn and adequately responsive. It's not uncommon to misjudge jumps, but i'd attribute that more to being dazzled by the purty visuals more than due to crappy controls. All in all a relatively frustration-free, controller tossing-less experience.
Presentation 5: Released in 2011 alongside such visual wonders as Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Battlefield 3 and Rayman Origins, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron dazzles with stunningly beautiful graphics. The vaguely decipherable story, based on an excised chapter from the numero uno best seller of all time, is served well by the marvelous artsy fartsy style.
Sound 4: Though the clip above from the Japanese version cannot attest, the voice acting is excellent, featuring a Shakespearean actor in the lead and a guy from the Harry Potter films as your "I've got God on speed dial!" pal and convenient save station. The musical score is fitting if not somewhat unremarkable. Sound effects do their job well.
Replayability 3: There are a whole host of bonuses to be had upon completion of your first playthrough. There are cinematics, sketches, harder difficulties, and extra costumes to unlock. If you're careful to collect all six of the "Prophecies of Ishtar" entries you'll gain access to an outfit that basically makes you invincible, which is handy for repeat playthroughs to pick up any spare cheevos left hanging.
Multiplayer 0: Thankfully, Ignition Entertainment chose not to tack a pointless multiplayer mode onto this little gem. Here is a case where a zed in the ratings category is a badge of honor. No need for multiplayer here. El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a completely satisfying single player experience.
Final Score 4: El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a video game not unique by type, but by style, and for that reason alone is worth a long lingering look. It can be had brand new for under $20 here at Amazon and at that price is quite the Eighth Commandment busting steal.

There are 3 weapons, thats it. You do not level up either, so you do not really learn new skills or new ways to use those weapons. The gameplay depth is what hurts this game the most.
The story is very out there... I still do not know what they were going for, but it's by no means the worst part of the game.
The sound and music are fine...
All in all, it's a game I played for a bit and lost interest in. The graphics and artistic direction are very appealing, but the strange story and shallow gameplay really hold this game back. The whole game turns into a grind fest that occasionally impresses you flashy, trippy, and impressive settings.
The 2d sections were neat though, I enjoyed those quite a bit.

If the idea of cavorting before a hipster guardian angel who communicates with God on a cell phone and doing battle with minions of a dreadlocked Michael Jackson-alike who vogues in front of the screen whilst you're engaged in combat isn't an immediate turnoff, then El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron might just be weird enough for you.El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron takes its inspiration from the Apocryphal book of Enoch. Out of all the CoD and other shooter clones that seem to invade the shelves every year, a game that's truly different stands out; enter El Shaddai. The graphics are simply breathtaking; not in a Final Fantasy way, but in an almost metaphysical way. The combat is almost deceptively simple. It consists of pressing the attack button in various different timing combinations, which set of different combo moves which change depending on the weapon, of which there are three. You can also steal weapons from the enemy, called "purifying", which must also be performed every so often as evil builds up on the weapon. Anyway, I will make my review obsolete by summarizing in one sentence. On your way home, stop by your favorite video game store and buy this immediately. That is all.Honest reviews on El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Xbox 360

The Beatles: Rock Band (Game Only) - Nintendo Wii Reviews

yes, the game is exactly what you expect.
in case anybody is wondering, you CAN play guitar hero instruments (drums, guitar, mic) with this game. in the GHWT drumset, the orange cymbal doubles as the blue pad on the RB drums. they all work perfectly.
The basic gameplay is very similar to any other Rock Band so if you like Rock Band and the Beatles you'll like this game.
It's similar except for the three microphones. The harmonies are really cool. This is a great addition to the game.
There are some other differences that I thought were worth talking about. First, the difficulty scale has an easier entry point than the other games. On RB2 I play guitar well on medium and very poorly on hard. For the Beatles, the low end of the scale is much easier. I've been playing very well on hard. By the time you get to the hard end of the scale things have balanced out and I fail on hard which is normal. This is much closer to the scale of RB2.
I think that's good for two reasons. First a lot of people who haven't played Rock Band will want to try this game. They will be able to have fun pretty much from the word go. More importantly, this game can use three microphones. If you're going to sing and play an instrument at the same time you'll be glad some songs are easier. Playing a fake guitar and singing at the same time can be hard.
Have fun playing.
Tech Note for Wii:
Some USB combinations don't work for the extra microphones. I don't know why.
I couldn't find anything in the manual about how to hook up three mics so I used a standard PC USB hub which worked without a hitch.
I thought the production quality was excellent. I loved the cut scenes and animated performances. I only wish that it incorporated more of GUITAR HERO's playability/game mechanics. Rock Band's "medium" is too easy, yet their "hard" is too hard if that makes sense.
This is a game that I will definitely buy down the road if the price is right or if I found it used cheap enough. I would definitely tell a person to rent it before buying it unless you are a die-hard Beatles' fan.

I fully expected The Beatles Rock Band to be my favorite game of this type based on musical consistency alone. I didn't expect the game to be the mostly beautifully rendered, artistically intricate game I've ever played on any platform, ever. It would have been easy to just replace the regular Rock Band characters with Beatles. However, everything is different. There are literally completely different animations on almost every song. I agree with the previous review that I screwed up riffs being mesmerized by what was happening on the screen. I was skeptical that the game would be able to separate vocal, guitar, and drum tracks on these recordings, some of which are almost 50 years old, but this is done seamlessly. The sound quality is great, bright and crisp without sounding 'enhanced.' I can't believe, with the level of intensity and anticipation I've had in waiting for this game for the last year, that it actually meets and exceeds my expectations.Honest reviews on The Beatles: Rock Band (Game Only) - Nintendo Wii
I purchased this for my daughter's 13th birtday. She has been a Beatles fan for years and this was on the top of her birtday list. The game is excellent she plays it all the time. The music is great and there are many choices which makes the game challenging. She can play by herself or with the family. The only thing that I will say is that I did not know that you had to have the guitar in order to play (or at least one instrument) I thought that you could play with the wii remote until instruments were purchased. (maybe I just misunderstood) However when we went to play the game for the first time we reaslized that it will not work without an instrument so we had to go out and buy that also. If you give as a gift make sure to include an instrument (which can be an expensive gift when combined with the game) or make sure the person already has at least one. The good thing is that you can use guitar hero or generic wii instruments and do not have to purchase rockband instruments. We found a guitar hero guitar on sale and it works perfect! Highly recommend this game to any beatles fan!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for The Beatles: Rock Band (Game Only) - Nintendo Wii
...way too short. I was able to breeze through this on medium within 2 hours. I'm glad I thought to rent this first before buying it. If the price was $ cheaper, it would've been a must-have. I can't see paying $ for a Wii game (and I can't believe others shelling out more for the instrument bundles!) with no extras. (You will be able to download full albums in October...at a price of course!)I thought the production quality was excellent. I loved the cut scenes and animated performances. This is a game that I will definitely buy down the road if the price is right or if I found it used cheap enough. I would definitely tell a person to rent it before buying it unless you are a die-hard Beatles' fan.

Review of PS3 Bluetooth Headset
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $49.99
Sale Price: $34.99

It comes with the headset, a charging cradle with power adaptor, and a 3 inch usb cable (for synching purposes).
Straight out of the box this looks professional and a high quality design.
It has a power on/off button, a vol+ and vol-, and a MUTE button. All are instinctively located. It can be worn on the left or right ear via a swivel clip common on most bluetooth headsets nowadays.
How do you use it you may ask?
You plug in the headset via the small usb cable to the playstation3 and it automatically syncs it with your ps3. I have heard that you need to delete any other bluetooth headsets in order to do this but that was not my experience. Wait till you see the red ring flash twice and your done.
Don't synch it using the bluetooth discovery method. If you do so it will function like a regular bluetooth headset and some features will not work correctly (such as on screen indication of your volume level, battery life gauge, the mute button, and on screen display if your mute is on or off).
The only complaint I have is that the "headset speaker" is sort of big and the rubber ring that goes around it isn't very soft and can hurt your ear after less than 30 minutes. I did find a solution to this if you just don't jam in into your ear canal that far into your ear it is very comfortable and functional. Just sort of barely seat it into your ear and it works and feels great.
The sound quality is way better than any other bluetooth headset I have used on my ps3 (I have used 4 different ones, all with great levels of success).
It also claims to have a "speakerphone"/microphone function when the headset is in the cradle. I have not had a chance to test this.
In addition the battery life on this claims to be 8 hours with 300 hours of standby which is fantastic.
Finally, it can be used as a bluetooth headset with a bluetooth compatible cellphone.
Is it worth the $50 price tag? Well that all depends on the person using it. It goes great with almost any cell phone, and works perfect with the ps3 and heck it'll work pretty well with any computer that has BT capability as well. The one little gripe I have about it though is that it starts to hurt my ear after about 1-2 hours. It's not because it's a design flaw, but more because I have such large ears. Other then those few little things, I highly recommend this BT headset. Great job Sony!
-this is the same headset that is included with socom confrontation.
-the ear hook is flexible so you can bend/flex it into your desired shape, it is also reversible so you can flip the hook to use it on the left or right ear.
-the docking station uses a USB cable to charge the headset; so not just the ps3 can charge it but any computer with a usb port can.
paired it to my blackberry curve, and it worked perfectly.
look and feels nice.
mic and sound quality is great.
for the guy that gave it 1 star... read the manual!
I give this item only three total stars because of the comfort factor. The piece that fits over the ear is nice and works but its the piece that goes into the ear that is not very comfortable. If you have the headset on for extended periods of time you will most likely have to switch ears or at least take it out ever so often.
To summarize the positives:
integrates with the PS3 better than other sets
may be better at helping the PS3 recognize your voice commands (haven't tested this myself yet)
good, convenient placement for the 'mute' button
good color coordination with your PS3 and your other PS3 peripherals
works with any Bluetooth capable phone
my kids think it's cool
On the negative side:
relatively expensive
not the best design in the world
not very good fit for MY ear (most headsets do not fit well in my ear)
Overall, the negatives are not such a big deal. It gets 4 stars because, if price was not an issue, this would be, without a doubt, the first headset I would pick to use with my PS3.

I purchased this from another retailer and I thought I'd share some thoughts about it. For starters, it is MUCH better then the Metal Gear Solid 4 bluetooth headset. The MGS headset had way too much static when trying to use it. With this headset I get virtually no static at all. It looks very stylish and professional looking, especially with the little PS logo on it as well.Is it worth the $50 price tag? Well that all depends on the person using it. Honest reviews on PS3 Bluetooth Headset
This headset works great with the PS3. The sound quality is much better than my old Motorola Bluetooth headset i was using. There is little to no echo. The charging stand, speaker works great when you aren't using it on your head. Make sure that you follow the directions and sync it via usb not bluetooth. This allows you to get a lot more features from the headset/speaker stand. (It gives instructions to do this in the manual provided).I give this item only three total stars because of the comfort factor. The piece that fits over the ear is nice and works but its the piece that goes into the ear that is not very comfortable. If you have the headset on for extended periods of time you will most likely have to switch ears or at least take it out ever so often.

Everyone should know that practically, every Bluetooth headset works with the PS3. The reason to buy this one is that it is made specifically for the PS3 and it provides certain features that the 'other' sets don't. When properly paired with the PS3 (using the USB wire, NOT the standard Bluetooth pairing process) you will be able to see your set's status such as 'battery charge' or mute on/off on-screen. There is also a voice command mode that would allow certain games to better interpret your voice commands. To summarize the positives:

Review of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1
The original Sonic series has always been considered to be Sega's best. During the 2000s, the series had nothing but a big line of clunkers and game collections, with a few exceptions (Sonic Unleashed, Colors, Adventure series, and the handheld games, to name a few). Then, instead of re-releasing the old Sonics again, Sega finally decided to make Sonic 4, a game that was meant to take the series back to its roots? Did it succeed? I'd say so.
Sonic 4 may happen to rehash of Sonic 1 & 2 elements, but the level design, leaderboards, music, homing attack and graphics are all-new (At least, to the original series). The basic gameplay holds up pretty well, and there are some really cool gimmicks added into this installment, such as running across a path of cards, riding in a mine cart, having to beat the special stages under time limits (and no jumping during the Special Stages), etc.
Of course, there have to be some flaws. First off, since this was built from ground-up, the physics are off and somewhat floaty. Another thing is that it was really easy compared to the previous Sonics. You won't have a hard time being able to collect 100 (or even 200) rings. Lastly, although this is minor, it could have been more fitting for Sega to use the classic design of Sonic for the game.
Those flaws aren't to say that the game is bad. The game itself is just as fun as its predecessors. In fact, while it does contain 4 zones compared to the other Sonics' 6+, certain levels themselves are pretty long. I timed it, and the game is actually just as lengthy as the old Sonics, if not longer. It could be a bit steep for a purchase, but it is totally worth it.
Overall, people can say it's a rehash, but in my perspective shown above, in which I think about what's beyond that, it's a new fun Sonic game. Just be sure to have the Steam service installed on your computer. Does it have a lot of flaws? Yeah, but they are pretty tolerable.
At first, I couldn't get Steam to work, but another cousin of mine, who knows computers even better than me, got it working and it's played great ever since! I like how Sonic has the new look, sort of like how he looked on the cartoon Sonic X. You also fight Dr. Eggman, who I always called Robotnik (they're actually the same person). I love how they incorporated many of the classic things like the spiral tracks in mid-air and the loops, but mixed it with a 3-D look and a few new things as well. One of my favorite features is you can go back and play the same levels over and over again and amass like 30 extra lives before playing the more challenging levels! It'll definitely be a game I play over and over again. I can't wait for Episode II!
-Return to form
-Interesting environments
-Levels flow nicely
Cons:
-Terrible console models (hopefully you can find some decent mods)
-Physics are a little strange
-Levels are a little to familiar
-Hubworld takes away from the flow
Overall:
Sonic 4 Episode 1 is a good game, but it does little in the way of innovation. The use of Wii models on a PC port comes off as lazy, and the controls still need some tweaking. The game is fun enough to warrant it's price tag, but at the same time, it feels a little too familiar. Strangely, Sonic Generations seems to come off a lot fresher, despite being a nostalgia based game. I have high hopes for sonic 4 episode 2, as it seems to be distancing itself from both nostalgia, graphics, and controls of this game (Look up the trailer, seriously). I'd buy generations instead, but if you don't have the money or hardware for it, this game is fairly good in its own right.
Only issues is the physics, which suck. A lot. But overall, it's a pretty solid game. Lets just hope that Episode 2 is better.

I remember my brother and I playing the old Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic and Knuckles on the old Sega Genesis. Then, when my brother out grew it, me and my best friend would spend hours in front of the television playing it. I grew up and I didn't hear or see much about Sonic for a long time. Then I managed to find Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic and Knuckles for download here on Amazon. I was so psyched! Then, one day my cousin asked me, "Have you seen Sonic 4?" I was so excited that Sega had finally made a new Sonic game. My cousin allowed me to play it on his tablet, and I was hooked from the start! So I downloaded it for my computer. At first, I couldn't get Steam to work, but another cousin of mine, who knows computers even better than me, got it working and it's played great ever since! When I bought the game, I was thinking that this would be a pretty cool title. Well, to me, it's average. The hub world is okay, but the idea of choosing any world in any order you want to play doesn't feel right to me. I wish getting the Chaos Emeralds were slightly easier. Now the stages themselves aren't really that hard, it's the fact that if you fail the level (hitting the red "!" circles or running out of time), you can't just instantly go replay. But that doesn't bother me too much. The physics are alright however. Anyhow, if you love Sonic and want a good time killer, then go ahead and pick this up. This game gets a lot of hate for what it did wrong, and while there are a lot of issues with it, it's not a bad game. It just isn't worthy of being called Sonic 4. The graphics look quite nice; they're cell shaded and the environments look really good. There's a new homing attack feature. And it runs on a fairly strong computer with no issues.Only issues is the physics, which suck. A lot. But overall, it's a pretty solid game. Lets just hope that Episode 2 is better.

Reviews of Xbox 360 8 MODE Rapid Fire Controller CHROME BLACK with WHITE Leds
The controller came to my house fast without paying extra for shipping, and sadly that's all the positive news I have for this controller. When I received my controller I first noticed the glossy outer shell, which looks nice at first, but after you pick it up it gets smudged from your fingers, and doesn't take long to loose the nice gloss look. I notice that the controller is quite a bit lighter/cheaper feel then a standard controller, which I found odd because it's an MS Controller, just modded. In COD Black Ops I started messing with the controller settings, and found that a lot of the settings don't work that should, like Mode 1 MW2, and Mode 2 MW2 Akimbo (Dual Trigger) just causes you to shake without firing one shot. Mode 3 COD4 Fast gets you locked out for firing to quick in Xbox live matches. Mode 4 COD4/COD5/MW2, nothing!!! Mode 5 Black Ops & COD5 Fast works for awhile but will lock you from firing for 5 seconds (ANNOYING!) if the new patch detects it. Now Mode 6 GOW2 IS THE BEST ONE, odd as well that it says GOW2 Mode. Mode 7 and 8 work, but not preferred for fast paced games. One of my biggest complaints is the left stick has to be pushed down EXTREAMLY hard to get it to function. Another annoying feature of this controller is I can't be more then 5ft away from my Xbox before it disconnects me. This product is actually WORSE then the ones selling for $49.99. One other note is this controller offers no setting adjustments, which means when they come up with new patches for the games, you will probably be left in the dust. Might want to think about forking a few more $$$ for the programmable model. Also check out the Xbox 360 IntensaFire Solderless Controller Mod kit, it took me only 4 minutes to install and get it running (only cost $30 WITH programmable features). Don't forget that once you start using modded controllers, your ratings will go down because people DO spot this. To avoid a bad rap, just stop firing the second he's down.

This was a gift for my son he is 16 . He really liked the way it looked and I was impressed as well . The photo does not do it justice. We are both gamers and this was purchased for offline use only. The different modes are easy to switch back and forth from. This is a very effective and easy to use device.Wednesday, November 12, 2014
Best Army of Two: The 40th Day - Xbox 360 Deals
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99
Sale Price: $18.29
Today's Bonus: 9% Off

my opinion is definitly a little slanted because I LOVED the first army of two. and i overall really enjoyed this one. it's alot of fun and the shooter mechanics and general third person interface work really well. they're not spectacular but they are functional, not flashy but good. however in making the sequal here it seems a little design by comitee comenced and the things that made me love the first AOT were determined to be the reason for the mediocre reaction to it. apparently in the era of gears of war and halo AOT of all things was deemed "too meathead" in it's humor and the characters were blasted as over macho idiots. i loved the humor and the characters. so the humor was toned down, Rios and salem are alot more subdued now and they really don't seem to enjoy their work like in the first one. seems to me if your gonna be a mercenary you might as well like doing it. and because it is the flavor of the month they added morality choices, i'm guessing to give depth to rios and salem. the moral choices are kind of interesting and give you some options as what jobs you want to accept but the choices tend to be rather crap.
The "new" humor i have to admit is not a step forward, the game is still funny but one stage is set in a zoo where all the animals have been murdered. it's suposed to set the tone and make you dislike the leader of the 40th day initiative as a maniac. but to me it's just morbid and the morality choice of killing a tiger to get the gun from his pen is really not cool. you can just buy the gun anyway so its not like you have to kill the tiger ever for completion purposes but honestly it's just kinda unnesisary.
for a co-op game the co-op has been toned down alot. i liked that AOT was all about two people, lots of step jumps and back to back moments and situations where you HAD to rely on your partner. in this game they took out the co-op snipe feature, not a big deal when playing with two people but it's just symptomatic of the design changes. there are two back-to-back moments in the whole game, and while one is totally awsome the other is just basic. i wasn't the biggest fan of the back-to-back mode in AOT but mostly because you had no control over it. if they made it so you could back-to-back under the right circumstances anytime. it'd be a great feature. also there are like 5 step jumps in the game and only 1 of them enables you to kill enemies while being held aloft to make it easier when you advance. the most glaring omission in the sequel is the really awsome rescue mechanics. in AOT you had to rescue injured npcs from time to time by slinging them over your shoulder and having your partner gun down enemies clearing a path for you since you could only use a pistol like this. it got annoying at times but that was the idea. and it was far and away better than any other escort mechanics i'd ever seen in a game. instead we have the equivalant of "puzzles" in the form of civilian rescues where you have to reach a highly ranked enemy and take him hostage to disarm the other soldiers. i do like this new feature it's pretty cool but with the ecception of one or two they're pretty straightforward.
now for the good
Rios's new voice actor is pretty bad ass, gives a real body to how he sounds, since he's a big guy it's a good thing. salems new voice actor is a pretty good guy, but not one i woulda chose for salem. the interactions between the two affects the dialoge and if you really piss each other off they more or less decide to go their seperate ways after they escape china. the supporting characters are good in this one, this game coulda used alot more alice murray in it but she is in it enough to make me happy. the new supporting characters are pretty good too, the crazy russian while not nearly as much fun as clyde is a nice addition to the cast list.
the weapon customisation is alot better in this one. once you buy a gun you get all the peices of it to use on any other gun that is similar enough to use it. i have the clip from an ak-47 jammed into an m4 with the barrel from another gun on the end of that. the customisable guns really affect the gameplay. in AOT my friend and i were so agressive the agro meter teetered back and forth and neither of us benefitted from it. in this game by putting silencers and the proper paint jobs on my guns, i build almost no agro and my friend goes in guns blazing with shotguns and hand cannons and i get to pick off guys left and right with my scoped assault rifle or even just run around busting heads with melee attacks. and the melee attacks are just wonderful, with or without the bayonette attachments you really put people in a hurt locker
overall the game has been improved, but i miss the old salem charm and while i enjoyed the story overall, it's the kind of story you'd find in a spin off. the first game was all about completeing paid jobs but since you worked at a company you had no choice over the jobs but you went around the world doing some great stuff. now you have your own company, you get to choose the jobs, you can go anywhere. so they chose to lock the second game with a short job and a long trek home. i really want them to do a true mercenaryish game where you get to choose from a long list of jobs and complete them in whatever order you decide or even in a preset order but have them be actual mercenary work. this is a story of two mercenary bad asses caught in a bad situation not two mercenaries doing their jobs. which is fine, but like i said, would make a nice sidestory.
i can't recomend or not recomend this game because it's got a very specific audience and i just happen to be a part of it. so the best advice i can give you is to rent it and try it for yourself, it's not as bad as people say it is but it's not as good as i say it is either.
The 40th Day isn't an awful game but all the things that made the first game memorable like the co-op mechanisms, the tongue in cheek bromance, the ambiguous morality and the hard fighting brutality were completely underdeveloped here. The strength of a sequel over a new title is that a dev team can take all the popular aspects of a previous game and with that previous experience up the ante and redeliver a superior product based on those known strengths and weaknesses. Instead with the 40th Day you get exactly the same thing as before with an even thinner story (which I didn't thing possible) and a less engaging aesthetic. There is basically nothing here that makes me believe that a single lesson was learned from the previous title.
The controls are wonky but not intrusively bad. I did have an unexplainable bug where after I came back from turning off the game the Y-axis reset to un-inverted and I couldn't change it back. So if you're a freak of nature like me and play with an inverted Y-Axis be on your guard. The bug might make this game unplayable.
Also be warned: if you're looking for single player play time then don't put down your money on buying this game. I finished this game in less than six hours on Hard. There are a few unlockables but nothing to make it worth really playing through the campaign again. My recommendation would be to rent it and based off how much you enjoy the multi-player consider buying a copy then.
As far as the actual game play is concerned I was never once really engaged. The enemies have a very limited number of very jerky animations and their AI is unsatisfying. Like many poorly designed games that place an emphasis on the use of cover you'll often find yourself feeling like you're playing a game of wack-a-mole where you sit behind your cover and they sit behind theirs as you wait for them to lean out to ineffectually spray bullets at you. The enemies are not challenging and most of the episodes were you find yourself being challenged is when due to the design of the spawn points and the poor camera angles a half dozen opponents appear behind you. They're mostly carbon copies of each other, some with helmets and some with body armor but it's all the same deal. This is mixed up by having the occasional mini-boss which is decked out in heavy armor and has a special weapon like a Gatling gun or a grenade launcher. Between the combat cover mechanic and the cheesy pseudo-anime looking enemies I felt like I had traveled back in time fifteen years and was playing Time Crisis at the arcade again and not in a good way.
This is all interrupted by situations where you can take hostages and/or rescue civilians. While that sounds fun, and it is at first, it wears off about an hour into the game due to the fact that it's the same situation every time and you're never presented with a reason or a reward that makes you care. This brings me to the "moral choices" in the game. One of the great ideas in the game that had simply terrible execution the moral choices have almost no affect on the storyline or the game play. There are some items and weapon parts you can get one way as opposed to the other but they're not really a big deal and don't much alter the way you play the game or the manner in which it is or isn't enjoyed. You could be totally good or totally bad without significant alteration in the basic experience.
The second incredibly disappointing aspect of the game was the weapon modification. This is another idea that just never really seemed to get off the ground which is bizarre considering the attention and marketing it got as a component of the game. While you can change out barrels and add new sights or stocks, etc there is very little substantial difference in the weapon platforms. Once you buy one modification or the other it makes little difference what your "base" weapon is. Also the modifications themselves are limited and uninspired. With all the focus placed on attaining money in the game you'll find little reason to actually spend it as none of the mods have a real "fun" factor to them and their effect on your game play is minimal.
The multi-player is adequate but I don't see any shooter fan who owns a copy of Modern Warfare 2 spending enough time play The 40th Day to justify a purchase. You'll also notice that since you didn't pre-order a copy you don't yet have access to the Extraction feature of the game for a month. Note to EA: put a $10 mail in rebate or a poster or the such in your pre-orderers boxes. Leaving out an entire portion of your game for one of the most critical time periods for the sale of your product is incredibly stupid. Basically what EA has done is create the illusion of pre-orderers getting "extra material" by taking it away from everyone else. What a clever way to screw over your customers. Fire the guy that came up with that.
Bottomline: The game is a decent but not impressive 6 hours duck and shoot exercise. Unless you simply loved the multi-player portion of the first game I wouldn't recommend paying retail for this one. A rental isn't out of the question for a lazy weekend but with Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2 and Modern Warfare 2, all vastly superior sequels, out or soon to be I'm not sure I'd argue you'll have more fun with this in your 360.
Pros:
*Good looking graphics, nice textures.
*Not too hard, not too easy.
*Curb stomping.
Subjective qualities:
*Simple combat mechanics.
*Check point save system.
*Not overly tactical, very shoot 'em up.
Cons:
*Terrible story.
*Very short.
*Undeveloped core concepts (weapon mods and moral choices).
*Painfully cliche aesthetics.
*Simple AI.
*Goofy Achievements.
*Little variation in play.
*Wonky Controls.
*You don't get the whole game you pay for on release (Extraction).
For the co-op play specifically, they really did quite well for the most part in bringing a similar "tied-together/Depending-on-eachother" feeleing as the first game. Plenty of oportunities for co-op sniping, flush and ambush, and flanking tactics. Overall I would recomend it only for the co-op experience.
As Far as the Story and other design aspects go, its an entirely different matter, and the only reason I can't actually recomend the game. There were three main issues that prevailed for us.
First and the only real "Mechanics: issue; the A button "Hold-to-run" being the same as the "revive-partner" button, leading to quite a few mishaps and deaths.
Second; Most of the games story is revealed in audio clips found in Radios that you need to find and pick up in order to get the full story and make the "right" or "Wrong" decision when it comes time to make your choice in the game's "Morality Plays"; points in the game when you or your partner must make a choice that affects both of you. If you just want to run the game and have fun, the decisions that you make at these points are out of context and have seemingly unexpected results, basically leaving you at a loss as far as story goes.
(***POSSIBLE SPOILERS***)
And finally, at least for us, the game seemed to roll like a square tire. To explain what I mean, when the first game came out I remember all of the complaints centering about a "Lack of Morality", the collegeboyesque "Bro-mance", and the hot-button (at the time) issue of Private contracters making cracks while they kill people. What most Co-Op gamers found out after actually playing the game with a partner, was that is was fun, because it was basically Gun Porn, it was a fun romp, where every bullet was a blast, and you got to high five your parter for making a good kill. Things were dropped out to rush release, which they tried to cover with the three new levels release for free later, and to a certain extent, they succeded.
The problems that I had with AOT: 40th Day is that it seems like they overcorrected, and then to top it off, they left in elements from the Fun Romp first game that now make the Overcorrections they made for the second game stand out even more, and seem out of place. In the new game, you seem to pause every few minutes of gameplay, and you are forced to make a "morality call" as described aboved, or an all to often "save the hostages" scene, both of which bring a halting staggering step to gameplay that should be almost kinetic. The sections in-between where you are able to run-and-gun as with the first game are very fun, and you can still engage in the "Bro-mance", and for-christ-sake you can use a soda can as a silencer or put together the stupidest fun gun you can think of, but these things don't feel like they belong in same game as the morality plays and the very dark-toned cut-scenes, and (*****BIG SPOILERS NEXT!!!*****) not one, but two downer game endings.
It feels like, in all honesty, this should have been a completly different property, and had nothing to do with Salem & Rios, or at the least involved other charachter merely in their world.
P.S. A whole lot of very customizable guns, yes... but three pistols! Only three pistols! And you can't even do much with 'em. For Shame!
The gameplay is solid for what it is , although even on the hardest game difficulty I finished solo with little challenge.
The real challenge was keeping my AI team mate from running headlong into a heavy enemy armed to the teeth with ballistic armor and grenade launcher.
But this game really isn't designed as a solo game , its best ordered up to play with a buddy online via matchmaking random or someone from your buddy list.
The game for as short as it was , was exciting , I really liked the moral choices , depending on which choice you made your given a mini-cutscene that looks like a graphic novel based upon your choice.
Sometimes someone you save who looks innocent turns out to be not so innocent. I enjoyed these little breaks from the action.
At its core AO2 is a 3rd person cover based game and it does it very well, if only the enemy AI were a little tougher .
The real beauty of the game is its online component but therein lies the problem with EA's finicky servers and the need to have an EA account separate from your XboxLive account to play MP.
Still the co-op campaign although really short can be finished easily in a weekend rental and then goof off in the MP modes for the remainder of the rental.
I REALLY wanted to try the exclusive horde mode but its still locked so I guess I'll try that out when its released to the public.
Overall great rental the graphics do look quite good overall ambiance is great with attention to detail , seeing a jumbo jet crash into the building your standing on is a sight to behold.
Would I buy it? Not yet maybe when it hits the $20 price point.

my opinion is definitly a little slanted because I LOVED the first army of two. and i overall really enjoyed this one. it's alot of fun and the shooter mechanics and general third person interface work really well. they're not spectacular but they are functional, not flashy but good. however in making the sequal here it seems a little design by comitee comenced and the things that made me love the first AOT were determined to be the reason for the mediocre reaction to it. apparently in the era of gears of war and halo AOT of all things was deemed "too meathead" in it's humor and the characters were blasted as over macho idiots. i loved the humor and the characters. so the humor was toned down, Rios and salem are alot more subdued now and they really don't seem to enjoy their work like in the first one. seems to me if your gonna be a mercenary you might as well like doing it. and because it is the flavor of the month they added morality choices, i'm guessing to give depth to rios and salem. the moral choices are kind of interesting and give you some options as what jobs you want to accept but the choices tend to be rather crap.

I must admit I was quite excited for The 40th Day. I enjoyed the previous installment in the series and had fairly high expectations for the second. So I sat down and put the game in and waited to be wowed. And then I waited. And waited. And waited some more. And then the credits rolled.

My Shared-Screen Gaming Buddy & I have a very special place in our hearts for the Army Of Two (the first game), and we were waiting anxiously for the sequel. For the co-op play specifically, they really did quite well for the most part in bringing a similar "tied-together/Depending-on-eachother" feeleing as the first game. Reviews of PS3 Call of Duty Black Ops First Strike Content/Map Pack 1 Bonus
bought this for my little brother couple of weeks ago at first he thought it didnt work but figured out he missed a letter so it did work. for those you who are skeptical, dont worry it works.
Bigger map than the offered maps (Kino and 5) and it gets intense pretty quickly. I noticed that if someone is on the far end of the map opposite where I am, if I don't make my way to them immediately, there is little chance of saving them. So it's better to stick together unless you can hold your own. I love the weapon where the zombies are pulled into a sort of space portal. That really helps in the later rounds. Great map pack. A lot of fun. I can finally stop playing Kino for a while now.
Its a very good map pack especially ascencion! The ascencion map kicked ass!

Reviews of ROME: TOTAL WAR GOLD EDITION (MAC 10.4 OR LATERUB)
Rome: Total War has been my favorite strategy game for the past few years. I've had to stay in the Windows world, though, since there wasn't a native Mac version.
I've been kicking the tires of Feral's Mac port for the past couple of days using the Rome: Total Realism Platinum mod (which Feral has also enabled for the Mac, along with a couple of the other most popular mods). No problems so far; the game has been flawless, with no crashes or observed bugs. Thumbs up to Feral not only for bringing the vanilla game over to the Mac world, but for enabling the more historically accurate variants too -it really makes the game much more enjoyable. You can read detailed instructions on how to enable the mods on Feral's forum on Facebook ().
The only negative comment I can make at this point is that it puts a heavy load on my system (2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro). The Activity Monitor maxes out while I'm running the game, even in campaign mode (which I thought should tax the system less than the battle mode). The keyboard gets uncomfortably hot and the fans go at max speed. Make sure your system is up to the task!
Rome: Total War
This is the better of the two games. I first started playing as Brutii and so far so good. I have had no problems. However, when I tried the game as Gaul, problems started to arise. I was besieged early on by a Roman army, but when I tried to attack with the army in the settlement, the game just froze. On one settlement, there were added buildings to one of the religious buildings (5 tiers of upgrades instead of the usual 3).
Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion
This is the game I have had problems with. I started playing with the Franks. When I tried to capture the Saxons capital, the game crashed. I tried several ways (play the battle out, auto-resolve, etc.) but the game crashed each time. The same thing happened when I played as the Saxons trying to take London from the Romano-British.
Overall, the game has been fun to play. Other than the above mentioned problems, the game play has been very smooth. I am hoping a future update will fix some of these problems. I have sent an email to Ferral Support, and am still waiting to hear back. Until then, I will give the game 3 stars for the conversion problems.
This game is also one of the most realistic games I know, economy's require skill to maintain armies have to be marched over a series of turns to reach their foes, and the battles themselves have realistic unit sizes with a moral system that means more than just saying, attack here. And if your thinking that charging your cavalry onto a line of phalanxes will get the job done then you will be in for a quick lesson as to what happens when a long spear impales a horse right through the heart.
If you want this game and have a mac, this works just fine.

The total war series as a whole is amazing. With a campaign map of Europe where cities are developed and forces moved on a turn by turn basis, and then real time field and siege battles, they have a formula which is unique and amazingly addicting. However, despite the many advances after Rome,I still find it to be my favorite. Something about the feel of Roman legions cutting down barbarians and the true epicness of the empire you can create is dear at heart to me.This game is also one of the most realistic games I know, economy's require skill to maintain armies have to be marched over a series of turns to reach their foes, and the battles themselves have realistic unit sizes with a moral system that means more than just saying, attack here. And if your thinking that charging your cavalry onto a line of phalanxes will get the job done then you will be in for a quick lesson as to what happens when a long spear impales a horse right through the heart.

This game is a lot of fun to play and by far my favorite Lego game of the series, and I've played quite a few. However, I would wait until they have released a update/patch for the game as there are some major glitches.
The worst one in my opinion happens if you quit a level the first time playing it. If you get stuck in a level and want to retry or if you experience another glitch in a level and quit the level the game will then continue on in the story mode and skip the level altogether. The level doesn't even show up on the storyboard with the other levels that you can replay, it's just gone. So to complete the game you need to start over completely.
To me this makes the game unplayable right now as I don't want to restart and this is not the only glitch in the game.
Again, this is an awesome game, but if you're considering buying it, you should wait until they release a patch to fix the issues.
We recently purchased the newest Lego Harry Potter Game, years 5-7. For some reason the graphics were a lot nicer on the newer game. And there were not as many glitches as in the 1-4 game (getting to a point in the level where your character is stuck and cannot get out, or repeatedly falls off the edge and you can't do anything, etc). For that reason I would recommend it over this game, if you had to choose. But I say don't choose and play both!
After beating the game we have not played again, but I think if I can convince my husband I will try to play both Lego Harry Potter games again in the future--they are just too much fun! But if I could only play one over I would choose the 5-7 version.
But if you're a "completionist" like me, you might find this game frustrating. I've already run into several bugs that have prevented me from getting all of the gold bricks and, based on a few quick searches, I'm not alone. Apparently, many people have run into instances where the triggers to make a gold brick appear are missing or all of the triggers are activated but the bricks never appear.
It's still a nice change from fast-paces shooters, senseless button-mashers, or immersive RPGs; but those who love to get full trophies/achievements might end up being frustrated in the end.
I only see my daughter every other weekend and so I try and find things that we can both enjoy doing together and this game is just a perfect example of how parents and their kids can mix their hobbies and generally have fun together.
Before this I had to play Barbie with her so it was a major step up for a parent.
The game requires co-operation and communication to work together. You'll feel like a team and have a lovely experience. I recommend this game to anyone who has a son or a daughter aged 6+
Years 5-7 even improve on this formula but I still recommend finishing this one at least once before going for the second one (plus the second one is more expensive since it's newer).
This is one of those cases where a computer game has a positive influence on a kid, go out there and buy a copy of this game. I find it very unlikely that anyone would be disappointed.

I love Harry Potter and the Lego games, so this was a must have! We have played both Star Wars Lego games and Lego Batman, and have had a lot of fun. Lego Harry Potter was by far my favorite! We played this game almost every evening for an hour or so, and beat the game in about a month. I am not a serious gamer, but I love the co-operative play of the Lego games, and all of the different "hidden" objects you have to find.We recently purchased the newest Lego Harry Potter Game, years 5-7. I love all kinds of video games, and I've always liked the LEGO server because you just play them. They don't require a ton of thought, but they definitely have their own challenges that everyone from adults to kids can still have fun playing. If you've played any of the other LEGO games, this one follows the same formula and uses the same techniques collecting lego bits for "money", gold bricks for those who try to complete everything, red bricks to enhance your gameplay, the ability to play a level in a "free roam" style after playing it though during the campaign, and so forth. It's still variation on a theme, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. But if you're a "completionist" like me, you might find this game frustrating. Honest reviews on LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - Xbox 360
My husband and I rented this game to play during a span of cold, rainy weather a couple of weeks ago. We are in our 30's with no children. We had so much fun playing the co-op mode that we played each night we had it for hours and hours, not even realizing how much time had passed. When the time came for us to return the game, I went and purchased it. If you or your gamer is a fan of the Harry Potter movies, this is suprisingly fun. Goes well with the movie plots for years 1-4. If you've ever played a Lego video game before, you know what to expect. Great fun, good challenge, and loads of laughs. I don't think you would be disappointed!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - Xbox 360

Discount Samsung TS-H943A Replacement DVD drive for XBox 360, MS28 Version
To everyone that's buying this and it only reads movies etc but does not play games. YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS. Either you can flash the firmware for the circuit board inside the new drive , OR you can do the easier task and just take the circuit board out of your old drive and swap it with the one in your new drive. Then there is no need to flash. Just make sure you keep your old drive and take it apart and get the board disconnected from it. Once you take off the four screws and remove the cover on the old CD ROM Drive , the green PC board is right there. There is like 4 ribbon cables to remove and then its a direct replacement and fit into your new drive. Remember you have to also take out the green board in your new drive and swap it with the one in your old drive so you will have one worthless pc board from this new drive that you can not use. If you choose to flash the new board with the same coding from your old drive then it will give you two usable green boards so you will have a spare from your old drive. The mechanical parts on these cd roms are whats failing , not the pc boards inside them. Its much easier to swap the green boards than it is to flash IMO. The reason you change the boards is because the green board from your old cd rom drive has a coded serial key thats unique to your xbox360. Thats why this cd rom without the green board changed only plays movies and not games until you do this.
First of all, I need to tell you the most important thing for my fix is
"the model of the original DVD-ROM is same as the model of the new DVD-ROM I bought, TS-H943"
I guess this is the key that I do NOT need to involve into the process of ROM flashing.
At first, open the 360, then take an old part from the original drive that holds the ROM identity. I followed this video to take the part out
and replace this part to the new drive.
The last thing you gotta do is just putting the new drive back to the 360.
It took me around 30 mins for the whole process.
For me, the hardest part is "Open the 360"
This drive works exactly as it should, and I have no complaints about it. I warn you, however, that you will need to do some homework on how to spoof the drive key (and drive type if you have a different model) of your original drive.
I read some of the negative reviews before purchasing this model, and as a relatively tech saavy person (I have substantial experience in computer networking, programming, and regularly build and configure my own systems), I figured they were just the victims of ID-10-T errors (remove the dashes, and you'll figure it out). After undergoing the process myself, I can understand their frustration.
I reiterate that the problem has nothing to do with this product, which now performs perfectly. The problem is that there are no "swap and play" solutions for the Xbox 360 DVD drive as other reviewers have pointed out, they each carry special keys which are tied to that specific system. In order to get any replacement drive to work, you need to "trick" the Xbox into thinking that the new drive is the same drive as the old drive (i.e. spoofing its key and model).
Unfortunately, given the many DVD model types available, and given that the spoofing can be accomplished in several ways, it is difficult to find a guide on how to do this simply (e.g. replacing a Hitachi drive with a Samsung drive is a completely different process than replacing a BenQ drive with a Samsung drive, which is different than replacing a Samsung drive with a Samsung drive). Each drive has its own quirks, and many of the guides are tailored to a specific scenario, and most of the guides are incomplete or poorly written for those with no experience on how the Xbox 360 works.
Took me about 2 days after work to make it work, but now I have a fully functioning replacement drive again, this is not the fault of the product, but my own inability to comprehend how the process worked. Once I understood, it was a piece of cake.
In summary, be sure to do your homework before you attempt to replace the drive. Finding a "step by step" guide may be a hit or miss, especially if you run into any problems. You really need to understand how to extract your original drive's firmware/key; how to extract this drive's firmware; and how to reflash the firmware on this drive to reflect the key and model number of your original drive.

Make sure that you buy the SAME MODEL NUMBER replacement DVD-DRIVE (ie. DG-16D2S...located on top of drive)or your swap of the computer board will NOT WORK. There are proprietary security protocols from Microsoft that are enabled to match the drive computer (green card inside drive) with the computer inside your original XBOX. There may be claims for universal drives out there, but I would research feedback really carefully before buying these to see if they worked for others with the same Model Number Drive as yours. When you do have the same model number drive, just removed the computer green board from inside the old one and replace the new drive's green board. The drive will then work as new in your old XBOX360. Do not attempt to do this with a used replacement drive....you're just buying someone else's problems.Sunday, September 21, 2014
Best Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle - PlayStation 2 Deals
Overview :
It is Sengoku aka Warring States periods in Japan. The land is in turmoil and it is up to you to unite it.
I suggest going over the tutorial to grasp some basic command of the game. It should took around 45 min to 1 hour depending on how quick you complete it.
Now to the fun part:
There are 3 different mode to play on .
Unification basically, you can choose any daimyo and conquered the whole land, the best and time consuming of all mode.
Local same as unification but concentrate on local level like conquered Northern Japan, Southern Japan, and others.
Challege Complete a certain objective in a given time . There are 2 challenge at the beginning but there should be more challenge unlock once you complete those.
On Unification and Local mode, they have same scenarios but once you complete those, they would unlock more scenario for later period.
Gameplay :
It is insanely hard on hardest mode, even normal mode already hard. Don't expect yourself to go out and capture an enemy castle right away like in ROTK 11(romance of the three kingdoms) which have 3D map and real time battle much like this one. You will lose terribly and once you do, expect bad thing to happen.
Building, so many building and land to build but you must build a district (core building) then you can build sub building. Like if you build a farm, you can build rice paddy, fishery and barrack around it. And yes, you do need lots of rice paddy for provision , also gold is important too.
War, the fun part and also the bad part, you don't carry your own resource when waging war, instead your provision (rice) is in the clan. You wandering around too long, you lose morale = unit destroy once morale reach 0. You also lose provision like crazy, these troops eat rice like a maniac, so make sure you have provision in triple digit instead of double digit like in the start.
Technology, this is the tricky part that doesn't explain really well. You need someone in the clan that have the require attribute from C to S for Archery, Calvary, Siege, Civil ... etc. You would want someone who have S in one and at least B in all so you can build higher tech, otherwise you stuck with your outdated tech. Research higher tech let you gain fame if you are the first to get it and you can request other tech from your ally, however, those allies are stingy about giving up their tech.
Diplomacy, you can negotiate tech, threaten enemy into vassals, alliance, and request reinforcement. Threaten enemy is also impossible so you may as well go conquered them unless your force are overpower them.
And remember, you can never have enough gold, your officer seem to like more gold than being loyal. You don't give them enough, they will be displease and loyal could drop. This isn't like ROTK where you just give them gold or item and shut them up for good. I always ran out of gold after couple years in the game which is quite short compare to ROTK.
This isn't a perfect review nor listing all of its contents, it is just so much compare to the previous installment Rise to Power. The AI here is much smarter than in RTP. Also, real time and turn base is in one big cluster, you just enter O to switch between the two and everything will move smoothly.
It isn't 5 stars game but should be 4.5/5 for fun . If you are a hardcore strategy gamer like me, you may like it but for beginner, it can get really frustrating.
The Graphics and soundThe graphics work but everything is about 4 pixels big. I played this on 52 inch tv and I still had to squint to see things at times. At the very least, they are functional. The map is HUGE so I can see where some graphics and processing limitations would take place. The sound is serviceable but nothing worthy of a grammy. I think there are like 4 tracks; 1 Demo intro, 2 normal peacetime, 3 War, 4 dialogue static cut text.
Game play and controlWhen you aren't besieging a castle, you are running your province. You set zones for agriculture, commerce, culture, science, trade and so on. You also research sceince and have research pacts with allies. Thats a new dimension on the series. It feels like this game is trying realy hard to be Age of Empires or Civilization but in a good way. You can also build defensive sturctues that turn your simjapan into a tower defense game. this is also cool. As you play, you will get a feeling for what province should do what and which ones should be manufacturing guns or horses while, which ones should be maxing out their commerce. Therein lies the fun of these games, Micromanagement!
Recruiting new samurai has always felt like HR busy work in NA but you need to keep an eye out for who is good at what strategies and technologies. You want your think tank guys to be spearheading your research and you almost as smarty guys constructing new zones for newly conquered cities. You want your tough guys recruiting and training and your baddest of the baddest dudes on the front lines. Oh yeah, and people die regularly of old age and sickness in this unless you turn that mode off. Gosh, that kind of makes you wonder what kind of world would this be if people only died in battle. Patton and Geronimo would have lived forever.
You also learn specific technologies or strategies based on which group you use. For instance, Nobunaga gets the ultimate Musket repeat fire technique that destroys almost everyone. If you aren't being him, I recommend you take him out ASAP. Also, if someone starts beseiging you with cannons, its time to start over.
OverallThis title is a great game to pass the time between jobs and girlfriends. If you are one of those who was always affraid to get their feet wet with this series and you aren't out playing other stuff like the "Total War" series, fire up the old PS2 and say good bye to your social life because this is the place to start.
Overall, I would say this game has the graphics, sound and smooth gameplay that you would expect a modern game to have, but it has many mechanics that make it unique from all other modern strategy games I have played. It is definitely different, which means that some will love it and others will hate it. I love it.

This game is digital crack for strategy gamers. I picture myself beating old ladies up in the street to take their money so I don't have to work and can play this game longer and longer. Its hip to be RTS, apparently. Or so at least is the treatment this game gets. Rather than just another Nobunaga's Ambition, this one gets a clock that allows you to play it in real time. Honest reviews on Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle - PlayStation 2
Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle takes place in feudal Japan, where you strive as a local daimyo to unite the land under one banner. It is strategy game that takes place completely in real time, except when you freeze time (which you can do at will) to give or change your orders to your subordinates. I highly recommend you watch a gameplay sample on youtube before you but it, as it has a unique feel that I can imagine would be very frustrating to some. Basically, everything is happening all at once and you can get flustered. If you take things slow the surrounding clans don't see you as a threat and thus leave you alone, but you fall behind everyone in terms of technology and strength. If you take things quickly, the surrounding clans become threatened and attack you all the time, but your strength and technology excel. Play how you want, but keep in mind that the AI does notice what you do and will react. Leave an area undefended and it won't be yours for very long. Put too many troops in an area and it may actually threaten your neighbors to the point of amassing troops and ganging up on you.Overall, I would say this game has the graphics, sound and smooth gameplay that you would expect a modern game to have, but it has many mechanics that make it unique from all other modern strategy games I have played. If you're familiar with the title, you should enjoy this game. It's something that you'll have to play for hours and hours and hours... (which is great!). Like all the reviews (gamespot, game trailers etc) already say, the graphics don't stand out as bad or anything, but really aren't the strong point of this game (read: they're a bit weak). But sho ga nai, that's not really what you are buying this game for anyways. Since the NES 8-bit version, it's always been heavy text turned based strategy game. I played the NES 8-bit version, then I've jumped to this one. I'm happy with it and, will be spending many hours learning the ins and outs and strategy and what not. List Price: $59.99

Call of duty is one of the most popular game series for this generation and there is no reason it shouldn't be.
If you know that you enjoy call of duty then you will probably like this one. There seems to be infinite replay value with this series if you know you like it.
Pros
Just as much fun as any of the others in the series
Weapons feel very well balanced especially with the numerous patches they have made
the map pack they have aded is a great value. It originally cost about 15 bucks so getting it included is a great deal
Some favorite multiplayer boards make an appearance (Nuketown!)
Zombies mode has been expanded
Cons
The graphics are great but they haven't changed a whole lot recently. There probably won't be a graphics leap until the nov 2014 edition.
less emphasis is put on the single player portion, though if you play this game religiously thought the year you know there is a lot more content available to you
Some may put this is the pros side but very few major changes have been made the last few years. I have played each year for this console generation and the lack of change hasn't stopped me from dumping countless hours into it
Overall, if you know you like call of duty but you haven't played this one then you really should get it. The original game cost 60 dollars and the first map pack cost 15 dollars. This package now costs 40 dollars. If you have any interest in this series now would be a good time to dive in.

I am more of a Battlefield fan. The only reason I bought this is because my girlfriend is always playing Zombies. I figured I would pick it up and play it with her. The graphics are impressive, but the game play seems shallow.Best Deals for Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Revolution Map Pack Included) -Xbox 360
Call of Duty has made a lot of franchise games. Black Ops 2 has to be the best one of all 9. For all it's features and the zombie maps, along with Easter Eggs. I highly recommend this game to hardcore gamers and shooter fans everywhere.Honest reviews on Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Revolution Map Pack Included) -Xbox 360
