This is one of the best game I owned so afr. it has excellent graphics and the moves are not difficult to excute at all, especially Akuma's utlimate super combo. the only flaw it has it that the hiddent characters such as akuma, m.bison, and dan are chosen randomly, there is a sort of pattern, but there are no codes for choosing them.

Reviews of Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams
It was time that a solid portable fighting game made it's way in America. But Street Fighter Alpha don't have much competition, and the only wanabee competitor is X-Men M.A. (that game really sucks). All in all, Street' is a good looking fighter with great gameplay. It is very much like the original version, but the only complaint I have is that the sounds effects could have been so much better...oh yeah it don't have the link cable feature either...

Best THUMBGRIP/THUMBSTICK MOD! Total Control by iTarget Deals
I've used the FPS Freeks and the Grip It stick covers and had issues with each of them. The Grip Its work ok on the 360 but they're too small for the PS3 sticks and tend to slide off when playing. So I figured I'd give these a shot. First off they are quite a bit thicker than the Grip Its, and the grip sections are more pronounced. On the 360 they have an indent in the middle when installed and feel really good. One the PS3 they are just the opposite and bulge outwards but still feel pretty good. They do take a little time to get used to though. But once you do get used to them, you'll find they are a great addition to a controller. I just wish they weren't as expensive as they are.

I don't trust these reviews on here. I just got mine today and I can tell you its the flimsiest, crapiest quality controller I've ever held in my hands. Doesn't feel anything like the real thing. Buttons feel like they are going to fall off any second. These reviews on here look planted. You got one guy saying that hes super happy and that the middle buttons are actually rubber. The middle buttons are not rubber they are plastic. Moreover you have people saying that this controller is not a Tomee controller but actually a Retrolink controller which is also completely false. This is indeed a Tomee controller. This was probably some attempt by Tomee to slander Retrolink. If you look up the retrolink controller it has their brand name written on the controller and this one clearly doesn't. If you are going to get an NES controller, I've heard good things about the retrolink, haven't tried it but the reviews that I read for it have been good. Don't get this one, it is utter crap.
Playing Zelda through again was worth the 30 bucks. I hope you make a sturdier one of these at some point, brilliant piece of hardware.

I recently purchased this controller. It worked perfectly for about 40 days, then ceased to function. Contacted seller about returning, but was informed that warranty is only for 30 days and they would not accept any returns or exchanges. Thanks for nothin', Retrolink!Best Deals for NES Retro Classic Controller USB
Absolutely true to the original NES controller, I really enjoyed it for two weeks. Certainly wasn't any where near as rough on it as I was when I was ten either, but its buttons started to only function intermittently, and then it stopped working entirely. I suspect the USB power internal to the controller isn't connected anymore, and I'll probably get around to soldering it up at some point, but hardware troubleshooting is a bit beyond me.Playing Zelda through again was worth the 30 bucks. I hope you make a sturdier one of these at some point, brilliant piece of hardware.

I got 4 usb controllers so my family could play Dr. Mario, the NES still works but requires 20 minutes of blowing on the cartridge/other voodoo, so I though these would be a worthy upgrade. At their best they don't work that well, with random jumps and pulls, at their worst you press down and they pull all the way to the right, making games unplayable. Disappointing, you would think today's technology would be able to replicate that of 20+ years ago. I was advised you can download old NES games to the wii, and one of their controllers has similar functionality, that would probably be a better experience.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for NES Retro Classic Controller USB

Review of Toy Story 2 Action Game - PC
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $23.49
Sale Price: $17.99

This is a great looking game with beautiful colors, graphics, and backgrounds. The levels are challenging and extensive. Our favorite Toy Story characters are all here (although Woody doesn't show up until near the end). The puzzles vary in difficulty from kindergarten to adult.
The problem with the PC version is it's extreme awkwardness to control. The controls operate relative to where the character is, not the angle the the player is watching from. With a constantly adjusting camera angle, this makes for difficult navigation. Another tricky thing is the 3-D rendering. Most objects aren't visable until you are right next to them, which made finding them difficult.
This game is suggested for ages 8 and up. Some of the puzzles are appropriate for this age group, but I can't imagine an 8-year old getting past some of the levels. Some of the "missions" are so difficult that even an adult has to try them over and over and over to finish them. (Perhaps this is a plus for adults, though?)
Although this game was hard to get used to in terms of maneuvering (one never does "get used" to it exactly), and it was obviously created for use on a game system, and not on PC, it was a great-looking game with plenty of challenge to keep even adults busy for days. The bonus movies are a treat, and the hilarious clips make you WISH the movie was out on DVD already.
Some small annoyances:
1) 3D rendering is not done as well as in other games: Edges appear in walls, and far obects are partially rendered until you get close to them
2) Non-standard controller movement for reverse. In the game the main character does not back up, but instead turns around when the down arrow is pressed, and then the viewpoint then rotates behind the player. Very annoying when one just wants to move back a slight bit. This is very non-standard as all other 3d games just have the character backup slightly when the reverse button is pressed.
3) The gamepad direction movement is coarse. Hard to line up the player for a specfic jump using the buttonpad or joystick. Luckily, there are additional keys on the gamepad to allow you to rotate slightly to the left or the right. I've switched to using these buttons for turning around rather than the reverse button as the change in perspective (see above) is annoying.
4) Documentation/menu selection is negligible. This is the worst part of the game. There is apparently no way to pull up a menu to charge computer game settings. It's also not clear how to save the game; many times the only way to exit the game was to reboot the computer. The documentation supplied with the game is useless in this regards; it says to press the `start' button' which does not do anything. A series of pop-up menus linked to the ESC key is definitely missing here, and is a fatal flaw in the program.
Overall the idea is good, the game is enjoyable, the play situation and puzzles are intersting and challenging, but not excessively difficult to make it impossible for younger players. The main problem with the game that not enough attention has been paid to the details of game management and the interface to the rest of Windows. Perhaps this was just automatically translated from the playstation by a computer program, where one doesn't really care if one just hits the system reset button to exit the game. This game type of programming is about 10 years behind the times, and really shouldn't be have to be tolerated by windows game users anymore.
Other than that, pleasant music, good graphics and fun levels. Get it if you like unbelivably hard games.
Oh, PS. I noticed most of you give it one star because"it keeps shutting down". IT'S NOT THE GAME! IT'S YOUR COMPUTER! You need to update it.

This game is a great game. We got this game thru scholastic and have played ever since we got it. It has good graphics, sound effects, and even clips from the movie. To get more clips, you've got to win levels and zones. Right now, I am trying to beat Zurg! It's a great game and worth the money. It was easy to install and has never frozen up on us. The 3 D action is similar to other games of the same genre, e.g croc and croc2, except the play area is much larger. Better graphics than Mario 3D, by far. Bright color schemes are top notch. Play is initially difficult, but improves as one learns what is improtant and what is not. Some small annoyances:

I saw one review here that said" buzz is extremly hard to control" and "I can't see an 8 year old getting past it." I agree! Buzz IS extremly hard to control, it's probably easier on a PlayStation, and I'm 13 and this game is even hard for ME! Buy Skate 2: Platinum Hits Edition
First skateboarding game I played was Tony Hawks, 1&2. The best skateboarding game of its time. Decided to take a look at the Skate 2 demo (mind you, I've never played Skate 1). I was BLOWN AWAY. Tony Hawk, move aside, Skate 2 is the new and improved kid in town! I shortly bought it after not getting enough from the demo. Well worth the money. What a revolutionary title! Forever more, skate 2 is gonna be known as the skateboard game that changed it all. No longer do you get to add stats to your player (speed, Air, jump, etc) everyone is on an equal playing level. If someone else can pull off an amazing trick/jump/flip, I can do it too. Anything is possible! There are little challenges and what not, but honestly, if this game came without the challenges, I would be happy. I just do them to do them. The people over at EA really did a good job with the city design. You will never get bored cause there is always something new to attept. Recommended! You won't regret it.
so rarely do we see a sequel so true to the original yet better in every way. Skate 2 takes the basic mechanics of the original and creates what is possibly the best skateboarding game ever, but to be fair to the times, the early years of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater are legendary.
Graphically theres little to complain about, great character models, great lighting effects, and generally great use of textures, aside from most foliage and some lackluster water effects everything looks solid. the bruising/body damage from bails is nicely implemented as well.
the game controls just like the original with that fantastic analog control. if you havent played it, the let stick controls the skater, and the right trick controls the board for ollies, manuals, flip tricks, ect. similar to the ideas behind NHL 08/09 and Fight Night Round 3. and dont forget the replay editor. gameplay can be paused at any time to edit your replays. you can change camera angles/styles and the speed at which each clip in the video plays. any of your replays can be uploaded for all to see.
Create a Spot you can now, at any time, pause gameplay and create a box to designate the trick area, set the score on given ramp/gap/rail/ect, and upload it for all to see and compete for the high score.
challenges/activities abound from tournaments and races to individual spot contests, competing for the best trick. they even added online for this one, all the styles of activities available in career can be chosen for online competition, as well as online freeskate with your friends. unfortunately all online modes are limited to certain areas, so you can forget traversing the whole city with your friends GTA IV style. a small complaint. actually my only real complaint about the whole game.
the soundtrack is great too, varying from oldschool rap to modern rap, classic rock to modern metal.
on top of all that Skate 2 features one of the most advanced physics engines in any game except maybe GTA IV (why didnt that have a replay editor?!) every bail is unique to the situation. everything moves as it should whether you're nailing a grab over a staircase or slamming into a knee high steel gate.
all in all its slated to be one of the best sports games of 2009, right up there with Fight Night Round 4 in terms of respective quality. it could be one of the best games all year period.
I purchased Stoked and ultimately Skate 2 because I was looking for something different. I was tired of driving games, shooting games, and there were no good RPG's on the horizon. I needed a change.
I bought Stoked because it was $10 cheaper. Bad mistake. I rented Skate 2, and ended up trading in Stoked (and a few other games) to purchase Skate 2.
The controls between both games are similar. Left stick "steers," right stick controls jumps and pivots and tricks. Of course in Skate you can push yourself around, in Stoked well, you're just sliding down a mountain.
Skate 2 wins the comparo for a bunch of reasons. San Vanelona is a living town with pedestrians, traffic, security, and other skateboarders. Stoked takes place on a relatively-lifeless mountain, with some stationary onlookers at various "trick spots." Skate 2 is a "sandbox" oriented, whereas Stoked though certainly not linear, still only lets you slide down the mountain, restart, and slide down the mountain again. If you miss a trick in Skate, you simply push yourself (or walk a welcomed addition to the game no matter how awkward the controls) back up the hill and try again. You can even set a "waypoint" at the start of a hill, railing, obstacle, etc and with the press of two buttons, return to the waypoint to try again. If you miss a trick in Stoked, you have to restart at the top of the hill, FIND the area you were in, and try again.
The control schemes seem a little easier in Skate at least until you scan through the trick guide. Stoked is all about holding a button and moving the right stick in a certain direction. It basically requires memorizing a lot of button combos, or pausing frequently to check the instruction book. Skate 2 relies on a similar structure, but most of your stunts are done by moving the right stick in a specific pattern. The good news is that you'll often do A trick. It may not be what you WANTED to do, but you'll get points at least. I have not yet run into challenges were a very specific trick was required, though I have read that this may occur later. Skate 2 seems a bit easier to play as you can "fudge" your way through the challenges a bit easier, being creative as opposed to just checking off a list of required stunts.
As someone who is entirely new to the Skate series, and skateboarding games in general, I found Skate 2 very easy to get started in and enjoy. Moving around is very easy and intuitive. Learning the basics like ollies and grinds was very easy, and let me get a decent way into the game before I had to broaden my horizons. I also like how advancing through the game opens up "contacts" which allow you to do things like draining pools, removing "traps" that inhibit skating, and even requesting a little "muscle" to help with security. The various missions and "spot" challenges can be pretty fun, and though often times they require multiple attempts to succeed, somehow it never becomes very frustrating. I'm not a big fan of doing things over and over again, but maybe because it all happens pretty quickly, you can run the same challenge many times in a single minute especially with the "waypoint" system mentioned above. I cannot tell you how easy that makes Skate 2 to play.
As fun as the challenges and missions and side-jobs can be, simply zipping around San Van is a lot of fun in itself. It's really a welcome changed in a sandbox game to be able to entertain yourself without shooting people or worrying about health or a "wanted level." Many times I'll find a railing that I want to practice grinding on, or a ramp that I want to practice jumping from. Drained swimming pools are incredible fun for flipping, grabbing ledges, grinding, etc. Skate 2 also gives you an awesome feel for your height, your speed, and your frequent-impending doom when you realize halfway to the ground that "this one isn't going to go so well..." But even the wrecks pay off though with the "Thrasher Hall of Meat," which adds a hilarious and even profitable twist onto bone-snapping crashes and accidents. Wiping out in Skate 2 makes me laugh over and over again. Never before has failure been so much fun.
Skate 2 is a great game that encourages creativity and is packed with lots of different things to do. It's entry-level access is great for new players and old fans alike. The controls could be a little tighter, the walking technique could be greatly improved, but most of the nuisances become pretty insignificant when you catch that air and nail the landing.

I'm going to compare this game a good bit to Stoked a snowboarding game. The reason for this comparison is that they both came out at nearly the same time, they both have received similar reviews and scores, and they both use similar control schemes. Lastly, there are some things in common between snowboarding and skateboarding.I purchased Stoked and ultimately Skate 2 because I was looking for something different. I love this game, the story offers many paths from doing danny way 100 foot gaps to draining pools and uncapping rails. I love the graphics and physics of this game, also the swing stick trick ability is wonderful. The online modes whether they're ranked or freeskate offer flexibility and fun to anyone who enjoys pulling backflips and quad-heelflips. I bought this game knowing nothing about the skate series, and it will never leave my game room, absolutely amazing game, 5/5.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Skate 2: Platinum Hits Edition
The first SKATE never really stuck with me I got 1/2 way through and found that the environment and mechanics got stale. Now it might be that I never truly got the hang of the controls the first time around (partially true), whatever the case I just didn't find myself coming back time and again as I expected. The new SKATE game feels entirely the opposite, the layout of SV is an addictive blast, the easier to use PLACE a MARKER feature is an essential for the forgiving restart event system that has you trying every challenge one more time until you check it off. The controls are finely tuned and really the heart of the game, truck adjustments really make a difference if you are turning too loosely or vice versa. And the flick system opens up simply and then just keeps getting better as you perfect the usual set of fliptricks, grabs etc.. and really feels good as things like manuals, footplants, hippy jumps, caveman drops, skitching fall into place naturally within the control system. Most satisfying of all is the double handed tuck down steep runs. The thrasher hall of meat is back and wrecks are a twisted affair as you can send your skater flailing on purpose into all sorts of gory mayhem. The challenges feel like older skating titles at times but offer the right amount of reward and challenge level for the most part as well as a nice amount of variety, street races etc. The details are all top notch with a soundtrack that almost feels played rather than old school, SFX and voice over work are above average though. I am not a big fan of the SECURITY GUARDS that police parts of the game and the collision system with them can be buggy, (it is the only place I have had the game freeze on me).The character builder also really makes a pretty goofy looking face no matter what you do. But with controls like this who cares, just kicking around this game for awhile can be an ultra addictive experience This one is so good I wish I could try the online offerings out but as it is the single player is more than worth it.Monday, July 28, 2014
Reviews of Just Dance Kids 2 - Xbox 360
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.99

Today's Bonus: 16% Off

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We already own Dance Central (DC) and we enjoy that. We got Just Dance Kids2 (JDK) because we have a 3 year old and a 6 year old and I figured this would just be like DC, but a bit more kid-friendly. Specifically, here is what I wanted to see improved:
1) The user interface in DC can be a little touchy. I was hoping JDK would have an interface that would be easier for little ones (with less coordination) to use.
2) When you don't do a great job, the characters in DC will let you know at the end. My kids don't usually score very high, but they have fun thinking they are doing a good job. It really bursts their bubble when they get negative feedback at the end of a dance. Little kids don't play for points--they just like to follow along.
3) Some of the characters in DC have clothing that isn't necessarily vulgar, but isn't strictly modest, either. Also, some of the songs are fun to dance to, but are objectionable for kids.
4) More songs with really easy moves that are repeated several times so that kids can learn them and easily follow along.
When we put JDK in, the first thing I noticed is that hope #1 (an easier-to-use interface) was NOT going to be met. On the contrary, my 6 year old got so frustrated with trying to select songs, that she eventually gave up refused to play unless someone (like me) helped her select the song and get the round started for her. The first problem is when you are setting up your avatar--Hand up changes the avatar, hand left pages left and hand right pages right which is all great, but then you also need to select the "OK" button which can only be done by keeping your hand close to your body. This took a little while to figure out and if they were over-eager in their hand movements, they wound up changing their avatars by mistake. This was something they were able to overcome. The second problem was changing the song. It wasn't too difficult for me, but the kids had the hardest time with it--if you go too slow, you wind up selecting a song you don't want and if you move too fast, you scroll the screen. DC's version is you hold your right hand out and move it either up or down to scroll up and down the list and then you move your hand to the left when you want to select the song. The problem is when you move your hand to the left, sometimes you also accidentally move your hand slightly up or down and you wind up selecting the adjacent song. This is what I hoped to be improved, but the kids do much better with DC than JDK.
As for #2, the game never criticizes you, even if you do very poorly, so this was a great plus!
#3: All the dancers in DC are computer graphics. All the dancers in JDK are videos of real kids. Each video is different, but so far, I haven't seen or heard anything that was objectionable in any sense.
#4: As far as I can tell, the easiest DC song is easier than the easiest JDK song as far as simple, repetitive moves.
I asked both my kids which game they liked better and both chose DC over JDK.
According to my 6 year old, DC is better because it has an easier interface and the dances are easier to follow. The song selection is equally good in both versions. She also doesn't have a preference between the CG dancers of DC and the live video of kids in JDK.
My 3 year old said she liked everything (songs, dancers, easy of use, following the dancer) about DC better. That could partly be because she is used to the old one, but quite frankly, I would have to agree with her.
JDK is a great idea, but it still needs some work before it becomes exactly what it is meant to be: a dance game that little kids will be able to use on their own and enjoy.
What a treat. I wouldn't have guessed this Kinect game would be so fun but it quickly drew my sons onto the dance floor and they spent an hour playing through the songs. The next day they were back at it again, dancing away to raise their scores.
We own several other Kinect games (Kinect Sports, Wipeout In the Zone and Children of Eden to name a few) but this is the first dancing title we've tried. My sons' favorite songs (as you can see in the video) are:
* Despicable Me
* I Am A Gummy Bear (The Gummy Bear Song)
* Mah Nà Mah Nà
* Jingle Bells
* Lollipop
* Shake Your Groove Thing
What I like most about this title is the cooperative 2-player mode. Many of the Xbox titles are one-player games, so finding something that both boys can play together is great. They dance for about 5-6 songs and then need a break for some ice water. The game isn't as strenuous as, say, Sonic Free Riders, but it does get their hearts pumping.
Now, there are issues with the set-up screen. The Kinect has a harder time reading the second player (not during the song though). The menus are a little tricky but my sons had no problem figuring it out. The Kinect is no more or less wonky with Just Dance Kids 2 than I've found with the other titles. Your level of frustration with the menu controls will depend on how much previous experience you've had with the Kinect system.
In summary, this is a family-friendly, active game that pulled my kids off the couch and had them dancing in minutes. I think it is a perfect title (just in time for the holidays) that will entertain kids 10 and under.
BTW: Please forgive my video quality; I hadn't intended to do a video review but when I saw my sons' response to the game I quickly grabbed our Flip Ultra HD to share their excitement.
Rating: Four stars.
My kids 7,5,4 Really enjoyed playing this game. The songs were excellent and had a nice variety of kids Songs. Some songs were slow, while others can wear down a kid pretty fast. That's what we want right! Even my 9 month old enjoyed watching the screen and her sisters dancing to the music
The backgrounds were fun and well suited for the song being play.
The kids follow along with other kids on screen.
Now for the cons:
The two player works good, but ever time the song is over, you select a new song, and the second player needs to add them self again by waving there hands up. Normally no big deal but.... see below )
The game has a hard time reading people kids at times. You move your hand to hit start and even with a steady hand it moves off the button, that is if it even see's your hand at all. Sometimes when a second player wants to join a game, it does not read them, no matter how hard they wave at it. I can see the kids getting frustrated with the menu.
My light is not perfect. But pretty good.
It's a really fun kids game with a few issue that are fixable.
I give it a 4/5.... Clean up the readability issue and it's a 5/5 for kids that enjoy music and dancing.
Save your cash.
1. You can't use the controller to drive the menu you have to use the Kinect. My kids are good dancers, but keeping them still enough to use the kinect controller to select menus doesn't work. The controller option is great because we can sit back and select the info / dance / dancers for them.
2. Feedback mechanisms while dancing are not nearly as good as DC2.
3. The dancers are "human forms" and are a little creepy. Their smiles are obviously fake.
4. The dance routines are overly simplistic (in DC2 you can go easy, med, or hard). DC2 does a good job at picking up my "little people" and giving points and credit for the dances.
Overall, DC2 is just better. The music is good, the dance routines are good, and the dancers are animated. It would be nice for DC2 to have more options for younger dancers avatars.

Honest reviews on Just Dance Kids 2 - Xbox 360
I have 2 young kids, 6 and 4. They *love* Just Dance 3, so we decided to go ahead and get Just Dance Kids 2, especially given some of the song choices. However, we were instantly frustrated with the UI. Loading songs and changing options is an exercise in extreme frustration, especially for my 6 year old daughter. In Just Dance 3, you can override the Kinect interface and use the controller to pick songs. This was much easier for my kids (and I admit it, me). In Just Dance Kids 2, this option is not available, which IMO is a gross oversight. My son is usually waving his hands around, which quickly confuses the Kinect interface on most games, but its particularly bad with Just Dance Kids 2. Coordinating them to walk away from the screen on each song selection and then getting them to come back, stand still to pick their options, etc quickly became tedious and the kids lost interest. They went back to playing Just Dance 3 and were all the happier.Save your cash.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We have Dance Central 2 (DC2), and my 2 and 4 year old love that game. So we thought it might be cool to check out this version too. Discount NHL 2K11 - Nintendo Wii
Okay, okay, okay.
As you might have noticed, there are many people complaining about how it's SUPER hard to get a shot off. First, let me say I was TOTALLY on that bandwagon. I couldn't get a shot off to save my life. I mean in forever. Super frustrating. I must have played this for a couple months off and on trying to figure out how to get shots off on a regular basis.
Initially, I rated this 4 stars instead of 5, because the manual does a poor job with instructions. As you'll read further in the post, you'll see where I mention how to get to the really cool tutorials. Night and day difference.
I'm 41. It's been a long time since I played console video games. So, I thought maybe I just was out of the loop on the whole Wii thing.
Nope! Once you figure out how to shoot, this game totally rocks. Blows away most games I've even played. And what can I say? It's hockey. Oh yeah!
How to figure out how to shoot & score: Okay, here's how you learn to shoot. PRIORITY: The Wii remote MUST be pointed at the screen as if the arrow was on the screen. If you do not get the remote so that the invisible arrow would be on the screen, you will NOT ever get shots off. I say invisible, because when the game is active, there will be NO arrow. Another thing, you MUST be good at holding the Wii remote fairly steady (while pointing it at the screen). For the longest time, I thought it didn't matter where the remote was pointed, as long as you press "B". WRONG!!! It matters. Next, while holding the Wii remote steady, and pointing it at the screen, you press "B" and then you have 2 options. After pressing "B" first you can 1) flick Wii remote quickly to the LEFT. This left motion will give you the quick "wrist shot." The other option, after pressing "B" is to flick quickly RIGHT & IMMEDIATELY LEFT. This will give you a "slap shot."
BTW:
HUGE TIP #1
If you go to
>>"Game Modes"
>> "Practice"
>> "Tutorials"
the game shows you how to to shoot, as well as trick plays, checking, etc
There are "offensive" tutorials
And "defensive" tutorials
Hockey practice! Oh yeah!
HUGE TIP #2
When attacking the goal, many times, a successful goal depends upon pressing "B" and waiting for a split second before you flick the remote. This will cause the goalie to sort of freeze thinking you are shooting, while you are actually trying to time it so the shot goes in the right place.
HUGE TIP #3
Attack the goal, just as they would do in a real game. If you sit around trying to get fancy (thinking too much about the shot) you will be stuck in your frustration (just like in real life). Yup. Very realistic.
After practicing with the tutorials, I've went from sucking on the "Rookie" level to winning on the "Pro" level. In the past, I used to choose the "better" team for myself and the "bad" team for the computer (playing on rookie level) and still lose. I can actually choose a crappy team for myself and a great team for the computer (rookie level) and still win.
Now, I'm playing the "All-Star" level. I win about half the time.
The realism in this game is that, just as in life, you get better when you practice. And this game has PLENTY OF ROOM for practicing and improvement.
Very cool! Have fun with your addiction. But, it's important that you enlist a designated person to make sure you can stop playing.
UPDATE (8-28-12): I just changed my rating from 4-stars to 5-stars. Over the past couple days, I changed the "Difficulty" level from "All-Star" to "Hall-of-Fame." And I managed to win 3 out of 4 games. CRAZY. Albeit, 2 of the games I had to win in shootouts, and in the game I lost, I was BLOWN OUT. Still, there's no way I would've expected ever winning on "Hall-of-Fame" level (I'm using an equal strength team with the computer. This is why I'm increasing the rating to 5 stars. This game is SUPER COOL!
I had hoped this game would take advantage of MotionPlus but I can't even use it to play because it seems to make things more complicated. I could never get a shot off, even on a breakaway, no matter how hard I flicked my wrist. I've heard several people (and read some reviews) that suggest buying a clasic controller and see how you like this game after that. But what's the point in using a regular controller if you have a Wii?
The commentary is exactly the same as the last version of this game and so are the introductions of the teams, as well as the weird menu layout.
I haven't played Franchise yet and seen what happens when you win the Cup but I assume that will likely be as big a letdown as 2k10 was (NO fanfare at all, all you got to do was skate the cup and take a team picture).
In the games I've played, I've noticed the goalies move more lifelike than in 2k10 but players on the opposing team seem to score from very far out and from awkward angles.
Overall, there is ver, VERY little new about this game which was very disappointing. Fortunately NHL Slapshot comes out later this month so maybe I won't have to go another full year playing 2k10. On the upside, I now have a chance to chase down some of Gretzky's records on that game in Franchise mode. My advice would be to hold out for Slapshot and pray that EA eventually starts making hockey for Wii because if this is all 2k sports can do, they shouldn't even bother.
I tried a few of the NHL franchise games from EA Sports in the past, back from Super NES days to XBOX, PS consoles more recently, but this is my first 2K Sports video game, and since there are no other hockey options for the wii, I decided to try this one, besides I guess I was too impatient to wait for the upcoming EA Sports NHL Slapshot.
That said, this game is definitely a good hockey game but with a few cons, among them:
The motion plus control thing in this game is really bad, specially when shooting, the B button pushing + remote shaking, makes me sick, nearly 70-80% of the shots I try using that combo, are never translated to an actual shot in the game, so I end up with no shot at all, without the puck, and in front of the goalie, it's very frustrating. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe I have to use the remote and nunchuk (R&N) combo as a pair of maracas and play some samba with it!, but at this point I gave up with the motion plus in here and ended up using the plain R&N combo with no motion plus at all. By the way, even though I think I'm a good video game player, and I usually beat most friends and family members I play against, my 8 year old nephew beats me at this game, maybe it's because he shakes the remote wildly indeed like a maraca, and the motion plus finally get its job done.
The user interface is not very efficient, you can get used to it but it's somewhat confusing at first. EA Sports games interfaces are definitely much better designed.
Playing against the computer is not fair at all so most of the times you'll lose, even in rookie difficulty, sometimes the other team scores so easily and you just have to sweat to score a single goal.
I don't know if my memory is betraying me but I think that all the players faces do not merely look the same, they are in fact the same face for everyone!
Finally, there are some moves that are virtually impossible to achieve in the heat of the game, for instance, juggling-the-puck-with-the-stick-in-the-air-and-shoot move, they're hard already to try them in the tutorial, so it's ridiculously difficult to do it during a regular game, so I don't bother even trying.
In conclusion, maybe I should have waited for NHL Slapshot to arrive, though it's fair to say it's not that bad overall, however, I've never considered buying a classic controller (Pro) for the Wii until now, I was doing fine with the usual R&N combo for most games so far, besides, what's the point of using the wii with a classic controller, in that case it's better to get an xbox 360 or PS3 for that matter, but I'm definitely going to try this game with that controller configuration to see how it works, in the meantime, while I wait for the controller to be delivered at my door, I guess I'm gonna keep losing scoring chances a lot from shots that never happened while sweating my way throughout some playoffs campaign.
I don't have motion plus but from what I gather there isn't much difference between a regular wiimote. Shooting is extremely frustrating. The response is slow and you have to flick the remote upwards and half the time it doesn't shoot when you want it to. Slap shots have a slow reaction too. I seem to remember you could shoot any way you wanted with the 2K8 version. There seems to be no imagination on the computer in terms of shooting the puck. Every time it seems to go straight into the goalies chest. Checking is piss poor as you have to now shake both wii mote and nunchuck for a check.
Winter classic mode is worthless as you can only play as 2 teams. Also, they seem to have gotten rid of the classic teams you could play as from the 2k8 version. HUGE drawback in my mind. Instead they put time in money into other trivial aspects of the game.
Don't waste your money on this!! Stick with older versions if you liked those.
As you might have noticed, there are many people complaining about how it's SUPER hard to get a shot off. First, let me say I was TOTALLY on that bandwagon. I couldn't get a shot off to save my life. I've played this game for about a week now and I have to say it seriously sucks. It is literally a carbon copy of NHL 2k10, only with different sponsors and the addition of the Winter Classic (don't get excited, you can only play as either Philly or Boston) and 'The Road to the Cup' which is basically a party game where you compete in mini challenges.I had hoped this game would take advantage of MotionPlus but I can't even use it to play because it seems to make things more complicated. First of all, I really love sports video games, and among them, in my opinion, ice hockey is the best, the most fast paced adrenalin rushed sport video game of all.I tried a few of the NHL franchise games from EA Sports in the past, back from Super NES days to XBOX, PS consoles more recently, but this is my first 2K Sports video game, and since there are no other hockey options for the wii, I decided to try this one, besides I guess I was too impatient to wait for the upcoming EA Sports NHL Slapshot.

Honest reviews on NHL 2K11 - Nintendo Wii
I recently got NHL 2k11 and have been playing for about a week. I really don't like it. I used to play 2k8 and enjoyed that very much, even though there were major glitches in some of the menu options such as the playoffs.I don't have motion plus but from what I gather there isn't much difference between a regular wiimote.

This is the first NHL game I have played for Wii and it is a lot of fun. The action is fast-paced and there is much more action than in a true NHL game. The controls are fairly easy to master and the announcer commentary is entertaining. Still haven't been able to figure out how to switch goalies which would be my only complaint about the game. The graphics are good, the game play is realistic and you have a wonderful variety of teams and uniforms to choose from. We enjoy the game considerably.Tuesday, April 1, 2014
Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo Reviews
This game starts out as very fun, but the more you play the harder the levels become, and I mean TOO hard. I played this game with my boyfriend and we are both very good gameplayers in our 20's, and even we were having the worst time beating the levels near the end of the game. There are a lot of tricky parts near the harder levels that I had to play around 7-10 times over again, sometimes more, in order to complete. This game became more frustrating than fun after a while, because you had to move so precisely it became almost impossible to move on to the next part.
Another really frustrating part of the game was that as you moved Gromit through the levels, when you get to a hard part where you need to adjust the camera angle in order to complete the task sucessfully all of a sudden the camera angle moves, and it became really hard to adjust back. This would happen EVERY TIME you needed to do a tricky task.
And another note, the game does look very beautiful in the beginning, inside this tropical green pretty looking place, but the next few levels have very ugly scenery, one is a rusty mine, and the ugly scenery does not improve the enjoyment of the game.
My best advice would be that if you want an accurate review of the game, make sure the reviewer has played through more than 1/2 of the game. The game is VERY decieving through the beginning.

Any fan of Wallace and Gromit will love this game. The game starts with a long intro to set up any non-fan with the important characters, and introduce the player to the off-kilter storyline Wallace and Gromit are famous for. Feathers McGraw takes over the West-Wallaby Zoo and all it's animals. Your job, as Gromit, is to assist Wallace in freeing the animals and especially Wallace's adopted polar bear (part of an adopt-a-bear program). The game-play is very fun, fluid and fully of silly gadgets. I enjoyed it fully and think most who play it would agree. peace.Best Deals for Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo
I like Wallace and Grommit. I don't like Wallace and Grommit the game so much. The graphics are decent and the sound is ok overall with some fluctuations. This isn't really an adult game which is surprising because it gets very hard at times...way too hard for kids. Kids don't play this game with an adult, because you will hear alot of cussing. Now for the biggest problem the camera angles....yeahhhh! The camera has a mind of its own sometimes....a big detraction from the gameplay.Honest reviews on Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo
I knew NOTHING about video games, I bought this game for my son, I'm divorced, and his father has an xbox 360, we both thought the games worked for all xbox systems, but they do not, and so now this game is useless to us, so just a warning, don't buy this game unless you have the right xbox systemFind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Wallace and Gromit in Project Zoo
I am an accomplished gamer. I've been playing for about 15 years now and have worked my way up through the ranks. I purchased W&G: Project Zoo because I frankly am not interested in the violent and offensive games anymore. I am happy to report that I thought this game was awesome. The three things I would say that it lacks is that some of the audio is a bit off, the graphics can be a bit lame, and I became a bit frustrated at times with the camera action. Aside from these minor grievances, the game was incredibly fun, engaging, addicting, and well planned. I really expected a "kid" game to be not well thought out and developed. This began to remind me of Mario 64 with it's intricate levels. I am very impressed. The cons I mentioned didn't get in the way enough to hurt my overall impression.Saturday, March 29, 2014

I bought, this controller for my brother because his original one broke. We receive the controller pretty fast but, it had a little problem the mic port didn't work but the seller was pretty good on replying to his messages i messaged him about 7 and he replied about 7:30 it was on Sunday and i had a new controller the following Friday. The day after i got into contact with the seller he had his tech support call me and explain what was my issue you don't find that with a lot of sellers today. The new controller works like a charm. The speeds are great easy to understand directions to get into what mode you want if you are considering buying a modded controller this is the seller to get one from, my brother said he had ordered from a lot of places but this place was awesome they had the controller in a nice box and the directions were super easy to read and understand.Keep up the good work!!!
Product Features
-10 Modes of rapid fire (FASTEST POSSIBLE FOR BLACK OPS 2, MW2)
-Works with Halo, ALL Call of Duty games, Gears of War, and MORE!
-ONE YEAR WARRANTY
-Pure white shell with ice blue accents
-Drop shot, auto-aim, and jitter modes
OK. This is incredibly misleading. They even emphasize 'ALL' COD games.
CONS
-Jitter mode ONLY works in Black Ops 1. Never would have bought it had I known that. You only find out when you get the manual open and it explains that it exploited a glitch exclusive to Black Ops 1. (Why couldn't someone have told me this when I was reading all these reviews before I bought this!)
-Auto-Aim DOES NOT work during online play (I just saved some of you $100.00 I'm sure).
If you play at night you will blinded as soon as you put fresh batteries in. The blue light is WAY too bright.
-In Black Ops 2 the rapid fire mod for pistols does not work well at all and will glitch out on you. Depending on what mode you're on. Essentially rapid fire is non-existent in Black Ops 2. Tried, Tested and TRUE.
-Also the most annoying thing about this controller for me personally is when I press 'Y' to switch to my secondary in Call of Duty, the controller will once in awhile confuse 'Y' for the XBOX Home button...instant death. (Not interested in using the one year warranty, because I'm getting another one from a different company).
PROS
-Slightly larger than the average new Xbox controller and is seemingly much more comfortable for larger hands.
-Pistols and MK14 on MW3 are BEASTLY. The MK14 may as well be full auto, it's that sick.
-The MOD button is in a really good place and it's extremely easy to program
-Drop shot works well and will increase your KD if you like to run and gun
-Prompt customer service, professional (even though they were unapologetic about the misleading features on Amazon)
Overall if they had been up front and honest from the start (meaning more specific about what works with what games BEFORE I paid for it and got it home), I would have given this 4 stars. Then again, I probably wouldn't have bought it actually. Which one would be safe to assume that's EXACTLY why they don't advertise it as such. What a d-ck move. Anyway, they pressure you from the start to give them a 5 star rating right away, with follow up emails and even a slip they insert into the product. I am glad I waited and tried it out on every Call of Duty game from MW1 to BO2. Buyer beware. $100.00 is a decent amount of money.

I had a PS3 briefly and RE5 was one of the games I really liked on it, but I think the PC version is the best. Any PC gamer will know there is just no comparison with the better accuracy you get with a mouse and keyboard versus a gamepad. Much more precise shooting, this is especially evident in the fast paced mercenaries mode. The game overall is pretty fun but my one complaint is that the story mode is a little short, compared to RE4 at least. Though the mercenaries mode hugely makes up for it with replay value (unlike older RE titles where I would only replay once in a blue moon). Its intense, addictive and incredibly fun one of the best additions and modes to RE. Nothing like getting attacked by hordes of zombies and having a huge arsenal of weapons to fend them off..! Also in the PC version they added a new No Mercy mode with even larger swarms and it is absolutely nuts. Mercenaries is a blast and a MUST PLAY for all RE fans. Finally, the graphics look slightly better than the console version. You can make out a bit more detail in the PC version and it sure looks pretty. All in all I will say RE5 is right up there with RE2 and 4 as my favorites in the series. There seems to be a lot of negative reviews out there because the old RE survival horror style was abandoned. But I think the reverse would happen if they continued the same formula, there would be the "seen it, done that before" complaints. Personally I lovedd the new fresh direction RE4 took and RE5 just builds on that with more enemies and weapon upgrades.
UPDATE (Feb. 2010) I was about half way through the game when I wrote my review above. I take back what I said about RE 5 not having a story. It's kind of a sequel to RE 4, and has references to things that have occurred throughout the series. I give it a 4 out of 5 on the story. Also, despite the fact that RE 5 is not in the same style as the traditional Resident Evil games, I've ended up being as addicted to this one as any of the previous renditions. Actually, I can't stop playing. This is a real problem. I probably need psychological help...
Xbox 360:
Pros:
1. Easy for those who have difficulty playing with a keyboard and mouse.
2. Released DLC that was not released for the PC version
Cons:
1. Missing one mode for Mercenaries mode that was released for PC "No Mercy"
2. Inventory is a pain with only four quick swap buttons on the d-pad.
3. DLC has to be downloaded offline (Only comes with a ticket for download of all DLC)
PC:
Pros:
1. Much easier to target enemies with the recticule instead of a laser sight.
2. Movements have become ever so slightly less tank-like.
Cons:
1. Lacks the DLC of both 360 and PS3
2. Requires logging onto Windows Live to play with your account.
3. No split screen.
The beginning idea:
Chris Redfield is sent to Africa to try and capture the terrorist Irving with his new partner Sheva Alomar. Like most games it is never that easy and both protaganists run into problems while on the way to the transaction point between Alpha Team and Irving.
If you only have a PC then I would recommend this for any Resident Evil fan. For a stretch I would also recommend to new players to the franchise, but if the option is there, get the Xbox 360 or PS3 Gold Edition of the game.
For what is given as a basic game (before the two platforms got DLC) this has more original content such as one new outfit only on PC for Chris and Sheva. "No Mercy" mode in Mercenaries, even with the DLC is not avaliable on the 360 or PS3 version.
Sound/Music Solid, though the volume seems a little low to me.
Controls Mouse aiming, MUCH better than the port of Resident Evil 4. You still have to stand still to shoot, but fans of the series should be used to this by now.
Online play The co-op main campaign is amazing, other modes are all right... but if you aren't interested in the main campaign, you're better off just purchasing Left 4 Dead for a zombie slaughter fest. One thing I must note you can NOT communicate with keyboard, communication MUST be through microphone which is somewhat of a disappointment (I find a lot of people don't have mics or are too shy to talk).
Overall Game runs great on even some low end PCs. Kudos to Capcom. Great game for multiplayer, but if you're just looking for single player I'd suggest waiting for the price to drop a bit.
Re5 is probably going go down in history as the most hated game in the series, at least as far as hardcore fans are concerned. Where Re4 took the classic survival horror franchise and tweaked it, Re5 throws out most of the good, while keeping all the bad. Hate button mashing? It's back, and with a vengeance. Enjoy having a large inventory? Well, now it's been shrunk down to just 18 boxes, and is all in real time. Hate ridiculous instant-death enemies? Well, guess what: there are about fifteen nigh-unkillable foes in this game, who you'll encounter all over the place.
Re5 takes us back to Chris Redfield (as the pattern has been set, odd numbered games star a STARS member, while even numbered entries, excluding Re0 and Code Veronica, star either Leon or Claire). Chris has bulked up significantly since Code Veronica (I don't think it looks bad, but a lot of people hate it). He also carries a machete, and has been partnered up with new character Sheva Alomar, his old partner Jill Valentine (star of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3) having been killed two years earlier (and off camera, no less!).
I won't deal anymore with the plot, except to say that it's very, very bad. Plagas return from the previous game. Not only that, they're the main enemy...and we're never even told why! They're just there, and it's the only real connection between this game and the previous one. There are a few new forms, but some of the most interesting creatures (like the invisible novistadors or mobile armadura suits of armor) are not present, replaced by bland, repetitive towns people, mercenaries (this time carrying Ak-74s and RPG 7s), and the odd native tribesman, giant, or dog. None of the enemies (aside from one boss, Ricardo Irving) are especially memorable characters (certainly none as quirky as Raymond Salazar, or downright scary as Re3's Nemesis). Instead, we get a constant parade of disgusting and obscenely cheap foes (the cone of death from Re4 returns, and we also have bullet proof enemies with undodgeable instant-death attacks thrown into the mix).
As far as gameplay goes, I'm no longer able to take Gamespot seriously after reading their review, which stated how flawless this PC port was. Resident Evil 5 forces you to do everything (including making healing items, reloading, and discarding useless items) in real time, which is all the more frustrating because you also have to stand still, meaning you'll constantly get creamed by some enemies while trying to heal yourself (especially in the Mercenaries minigame). On top of this is an obscenely broken mechanic called "Dying status," which your character will enter into after taking in a certain amount of damage. Your partner will have to drop everything and run over to you, either giving you a shot of adrenaline, or using a random healing item. What makes this even worse is, while you're stumbling around bleeding out, you can't attack (unlike last stand in CoD), but can still be hit by nearby enemies, which almost always results in an instant kill. Worse still, you can be grappled into Dying, at which point you'll be unable to escape, and *always* die. When playing Mercenaries alone, you'll have to button mash instead of waiting for a teammate, which is its own bundle of fun, since one enemy in particular has a nasty habit of camping on you, putting you in dying status right after you recover (this happened three times in a row on one game). As a frustrating side note, the chickens from Re4 are now hostile and can attack you, throwing off your aim, and even kill you (sadly, this has happened too).
Another broken aspect is a pointless rail-shooting level a third of the way in, which is both badly planned and generally a huge waste of time. Even worse, this level is impossible on the PC, as dodging commands requiring one button with a controller require two or three unrelated ones here, simply because, well, Capcom can.
The PC controls are, in fact, the worst part of the game. We have two separate aiming schemes, one which leaves a persistent cross hair on screen (but takes away your ability to aim up past a certain point), while the just adds mouse aiming to the standard Re4 scheme. This works the the better of the two, so long as you don't plan on playing Mercenaries. As for me, this is the only game I've ever played through start to finish with a controller, because the PC controls are just THAT BAD. The controller is to video games what a joy stick is to driving; it can get the job done, but there are better options. The inventory is totally unusable on the PC (you have to tell the game to prioritize items for it, and even then it's still a massive pain to reload or combine items). Thanks to forced co-op, you have to do everything in real time, which means you'll have to wait for a lull in the action to reload or make Green/Red Herb combos with the keyboard, something you won't have time for in the average seven-minute Mercenaries game.
On top of THAT, we get to the PC "exclusives" a new game type and a couple of pretty lame costumes. No Mercy mode for the Mercenaries causes massive system lack, since it just causes more enemies to spawn. The two costumes were later made part of a far more extensive console-only DLC, which added four new characters, along with two other new costumes, to the Mercenaries, along with two exclusive side stories. The Vs. DLC was also console only; even though it's on the frigging disk for the PC version, you have to hack the game to play iy! It appears Capcom just isn't in the business of making money anymore...

Let me start by mentioning I'm old enough that I played the original Resident Evil when it was a newly released PlayStation (I) game. I've played all of the noteworthy RE versions (i.e. Zero, RE1, 2, 3, Code Veronica, and 4). The graphics for RE 5 (PC version) are incredible. A number of reviews mention that this port is better than the game consoles. I can see why. The game has a decent fun factor, but here's the problem: it isn't Resident Evil in the survival horror tradition established by all the previous versions, including 4. With RE 4 the franchise did head in a new direction, finding a niche between the original RE games with the adventure/puzzle solving aspect, and the more common first person shooters that are basically shoot 'em and move on. I loved RE 4. It perfectly captured the best of both worlds. Apparently Capcom decided that the natural evolution was to move RE further into the FPS domain. Well, they succeeded. I'm no longer playing an RE game--I'm playing a shooter that is otherwise just like all the other FPS games, except that it's not a first person perspective, it's third person. There is no real story here like you came to expect in the early RE games. Really there isn't any story at all--just a continuation of RE 4's storyline, but without the logic puzzles and adventure aspect from the early games that RE 4 had managed to retain. There's lots of non-stop shooting--and no story worth mentioning. So if you want a really great FPS that is actually a 3rd person shooter with great graphics that is made by Capcom, this game should be perfect for you. IMHO, Capcom should have stuck with the RE 4 formula. RE 5 is a fun game, but not the traditional Resident Evil I have been seriously addicted to in the past. I could have survived without this one...UPDATE (Feb. 2010) I was about half way through the game when I wrote my review above. I take back what I said about RE 5 not having a story. Gameplay Solid action game, the puzzles of earlier RE games are gone. The focus is entirely on action, and it's a good change. The RE puzzles have always been easy, just a series of "Do I remember where I saw the X shaped keyhole before?". If you're only playing single player, I'd say pass and get another game. If you have a friend to play with, definitely pick this up. This is what Left 4 Dead should have been.Sound/Music Solid, though the volume seems a little low to me.

It's becoming clear to us that Capcom hates PC gamers. Re4 doesn't have mouse support. Re5 took several months to be released. ORC couldn't be preordered, and while Capcom is making noises about an Re6 port, there's no ETA for it, so don't hold your breath.Re5 is probably going go down in history as the most hated game in the series, at least as far as hardcore fans are concerned.

Good quality and no issues. I am an awful player but these actually seemed to help me out a bit. Turned up my sensitivity for a quicker reaction speed but added these to keep the control. Definitely did not make me an expert, but seemed to help.
